Starting point is 00:00:00 Today's episode is brought you by HeroForge. HeroForge has got those custom minis for your next tabletop adventure. Let's jump to this podcast. Hello, everybody. It's time for Cosent Red Dog. This is a friend dog in the morning. In the morning. Broadcastle live, live, live, live, live.
Starting point is 00:00:21 In four-hour recording studio, recording. Recorded. Wait your ass up. It's up next friend, good morning. Hello, everybody, what's on the episode of Cax and Crenner in the morning. Hello. Hi. Greetings.
Starting point is 00:00:42 I am confused because this is not our normal recording day. It is not, no, but I will, I'm going to be gone. I am currently in the best time of my life, but also the worst when it comes to time. All right. Like I, so this over the next, like currently, job-wise, right? Control released. A new Silent Hill is out.
Starting point is 00:01:08 Dynasty Warriors is coming in a few days. And then immediately after that, on the 5th of October, is Ace Combat. So four games that are all geared towards me back to back to back because no one wants to compete with Grand Theft Auto. So everything's coming out right now. And so I have all that. Plus, Friday, I have a branded thing I have to do where I have to go to a place. Saturday and Sunday I'm flying to Seattle
Starting point is 00:01:31 for another thing I have to do and then I'm coming back Sunday night to then go do a thing Monday so like it's absolutely crazy I'm swamped with a good time if that makes any sense like it's just a lot of things I love happening at once but it's overwhelming
Starting point is 00:01:51 and so I'm just letting it wash over me like the tide and I'm just going with it I see so yeah it's it's a lot but you're enjoying the allot that is occurring. Yes. Yeah, it's not a bad thing.
Starting point is 00:02:03 I am very happy right now, but my time is extremely limited. And so I've had to be like, no, no, no, I need to do, like, I got to do this and this and this. And so, yeah, I'm really going out of my way to try and make sure everything gets done and everything's good. And so today was really the only day we could film. Yeah, no, that's great.
Starting point is 00:02:24 Or I guess record. Yeah. I was saying like even I I gotta do a Warhammer sponsor tonight I have a Warhammer thing but mine's tomorrow Oh I see
Starting point is 00:02:38 Are you playing the new The new thing? I am I'm gonna be playing as thankful Burning the humans That's uh you know that's cute That's fine I'm I'm nekhariing dude I'm going full end of days
Starting point is 00:02:53 I'm gonna burn the world of the ground I'm so excited That's, uh, who else is there's, Nagash. Nagash is in there. Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I'm doing Nagara. Nahakara is the literal location.
Starting point is 00:03:06 No, it's Nagahara, Thanquil, and then a couple others. All I know is I saw Thankwell and I'm like, we're riding it up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I've got real life, thankful. I've used them in the actual tabletop game numerous times. I am curious about the,
Starting point is 00:03:21 the whole like, um, uh, Does Nagash count as a tomb lord? I don't know that he does. I don't know. There's a lot of intricacies. Yeah, so basically, for those who want to know my secret ulterior motives, I have played Total War Warhammer 3 so much that I have almost every achievement.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Except I have been holding out for the hard mode tomb lord achievement because I was like, oh, I'll just do it on Nagash. But if Nagash isn't a tomb, if he doesn't count as a tomb lord, because he's also a vampire technically, and he's a litch, technically. So, like, I don't know what he's going to fall under. And if he doesn't count as a tomb lord, I would be very upset because I've been waiting so long. And I'm like, mm, okay. Yeah, I don't, I mean, I can't. They're clearly, it's a branded thing, so I won't.
Starting point is 00:04:18 But I will be like, no, oh, no. So, yeah. I guess I just have to play more of a game I love. Oh, no. Speaking of that, you were saying you've been playing the control, but Sam's doing better than you. Oh, my God, yes, yes. So the very first day I started.
Starting point is 00:04:37 So Control Resonant is out. I love this franchise. I love Remedy Games. I love how weird they are. I was playing a little bit today, and I already, I found one area. I will say, this game is, there's some, oh, don't go in there.
Starting point is 00:04:50 You're not ready for that moments. Like, I found this one area, and I thought I was doing great, And then I hit this room, and imagine a room where everything in there gives you a poison dot. The ground gives you a poison dot. And things still hit you very hard while guys from the walls are spitting on you. But you're in like a box. It's like a death box.
Starting point is 00:05:09 There's no, I could not figure out how to do it. Chat was like, Jesse, you're missing an item. I was like, why would they let me go here? What would they? I was like, I was so mad. I was getting so tilted. And chat was like, you know, you don't have to. I was like, no, I will do this.
Starting point is 00:05:21 And I just threw myself at it until finally I was like, you're right. you're right I'm an idiot so I stopped but um like there's besides moments like that where I'm like
Starting point is 00:05:31 oh they're making this hard I'm enjoying there's some weird stuff happening I'm like oh I don't even want to spoil what I just did but it was very similar
Starting point is 00:05:42 to the dancing plague if anyone knows what that is where a long time ago people in this one town just started dancing and they couldn't stop until finally people just started killing over dead
Starting point is 00:05:52 that is actually you know what I think I did hear that yeah that is it's a pretty famous thing and no one really knows why it happened and that's kind of I had a moment like that in this game and I was like what the hell are we doing I love this yeah anyway I love the game it's great I thought on day one we could we could play this for the first time on Tuesday I thought man I put nine hours in on Tuesday nine yep I went
Starting point is 00:06:22 and as I logged off saw Sam stripping at 11 and still going and I was like this guy this guy so then the last couple days he and I've been talking about the game and he's like yo when we're done we should we should chat and like cool cool
Starting point is 00:06:38 and he's so far I don't think he realizes how far ahead of me he is because he'll message me and he'll be like yo and he'll name like an enemy type that I've never seen I'm like I don't know what you're Sam I don't know what you're talking about You clearly think we're at the same pace, but we are not, my friend. We are not.
Starting point is 00:06:58 And so, yeah, that's where we're at. And so he keeps messaging me. He's like, yo, do you see this thing? I was like, I don't know what that is. I have no idea what you're talking about. That's honestly, that is very same stripping. I mean. He's plowing through.
Starting point is 00:07:13 It's crazy to watch the fact that he, and this I think is interesting in sort of a variety. streamer way where you know most variety streamers won't play a thing unless it does numbers and it's interesting to see the hype for control resident build because all the
Starting point is 00:07:35 variety streamers I follow haven't just been like oh I'll play control resident they haven't played any of the other games and so I've watched them steamroll through control through Allen Wake 1 and 2 like try to get in quantum break
Starting point is 00:07:51 Try to, like, do the entire remedy catalog in the weeks leading up to it. And it hasn't been, you know, like, when I play a game, I'm taking my, I'm looking, oh, what's that over there? And what's that thing? And how's that work? Yep. They are steamrolling these games. And I thought, oh, well, they're just skipping all the lore. False.
Starting point is 00:08:07 False. They're just playing 15 hours a day. I was like, that's crazy. I can't do that. I mean, I definitely can't do it. I stream like three hours. I'm like, man, good stream, guys. I'm going to go sit down somewhere else.
Starting point is 00:08:27 I literally saw Sam, speaking of which, streaming Alan Wake, like, he was streaming it past my normal streaming hours. He was streaming for like 13 hours to beat the game. I guess if you, if he's on his, he's on his sub-a-thon. So I guess that makes sense to just get those things. His sub-thon was over. My man, my man. He did, he did tell me, I think this is very funny.
Starting point is 00:08:50 he did say that when he beat control afterwards he went back and did all the he said when the stream ended I went back and did three hours of looking for lore and I was like Samuel I was like that's like me except like do that on stream I was oh my god dude it might have been Wednesday
Starting point is 00:09:06 whatever day I was playing I was looking around for stuff I was like trying to find little lore tidbits and like doing things some guy in chat goes I have been here for one hour and I have to ask is there any actual combat in this game
Starting point is 00:09:22 that I was like yeah no I'm just yes there is I however am not I'm looking for little notes right now so I'm sorry that's like me when I play wow stuff they're just like what is this part of the game I'm like
Starting point is 00:09:37 nah I just died and ran the mount hydro so we can take a look at it so like we're really it's really not anything you're supposed to be doing yeah the wow stuff is so interesting to me because that also is having sort of a, you know, like me in this control world of remedy stuff, having an uptick in people who care about it. The wow stuff is interesting too because it also has an uptick in people who care about, but not, you know, like retail.
Starting point is 00:10:02 But in learning about the way it used to be, I saw a post today that was, I was like, wait, what? Where some guy was messaging Noble like, hey, do you think maybe you or someone could do a video about like what major lore characters were around at the time of Wow Forever? I mean like just normal, the classic wow characters? Yeah, it's, I mean, there's a lot of people that don't really know much about it, to be honest. Yeah, absolutely. It's, but my, my thing still is I'm here for the graphics, the lighting, the fog. They just showed off the new rain. Dude, that's what I've been waiting for.
Starting point is 00:10:42 That new rain. You are who you are, and I love that about you. They showed a tweet that was just like, new rain, everybody. and I was like, holy shit. It actually like keeps raining when you're inside. It makes like indoor rain sounds. Like they brought back like super weather from back in the day. Because they used to have it.
Starting point is 00:10:59 They removed it because they're like people's computers can't handle it. Yeah. And so I've been, I tweeted that out like, dude, no, this is what I've been waiting forever for. And that like the, what's her name? The lady that was on stage at Blizzcom, Joanna, whatever. Oh, oh, okay. The main one, she liked my. We, like, it was like a bunch of people like, and I'm like, dude, this is great.
Starting point is 00:11:24 And then, uh, I saw that in, homie. Get in there. That's what I'm saying. They just put up a Wow Forever podcast today with Zaru where they're like bringing on content creators to like talk to the dead. They did have sort of like a, um, what is Wow Forever? I was like, interesting. I hope what they get to, the content creators they get to are the people who are going to be
Starting point is 00:11:46 honest and be like, yo, the dueling style. the two styles you have, just pick a style. Like, meet somewhere in the middle, but the, having the, the sky elves or whatever hell they have, their stuff needs to look old. It looks too modern.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Well, that's kind of what they were talking about. So I watched the first episode, and it's actually kind of crazy because, like, they're talking to Zaru and they're like, it's funny because when you came on, he was just like, can I like be real? Or is this like one of those fake podcast? And they're like, no, dude, like, just say it.
Starting point is 00:12:20 They're like, we don't care. And so he's like, yeah, people think the Druid form looks too retail, 2 HD. And they were saying how they've actually had the artist already downgraded. Like, it's already been downgraded. And so they're just like, we need you to keep downgrading it. And they're just like, what do you mean? Then they're just like just more polygons through this thing. Because like, that's all the SD standard graphics they've added was a,
Starting point is 00:12:48 decision they made months ago because streamers and YouTubers went there and were like, you need this because they were only going to do the HD retail ones. So they went there. And so all of this is new. So they're like kind of working with the artist and everybody to get this going. But it seems like everybody working on it is very open to community feedback and actually working out. So it's pretty cool. I like, I mean like, I'm excited for that mostly because I don't have any tainted. My new I don't want to play your demo lifestyle is working out
Starting point is 00:13:20 great. If it's an indie game that I've never seen before, I'll play your demo. But if it's like a brand new 800 hour game, I'm not playing your demo. I don't want to play your early access because then I get to have moments like this where I hear all the people be like, this is what I didn't like, or this was
Starting point is 00:13:36 what was missing, or this was a problem. And then it's fixed by release. And I'm ready for that. I can't wait for November 4th. 4th or 5th or whatever day that is. Yeah, it's November 4th. So it's, I'm very excited. And so I, uh, I reached out to my blizzard
Starting point is 00:13:53 community guy and I was like, hey, you need someone to go on that show and talk about weather and lighting. You know who to talk to. And he's like, all right, y'all put your name in the, the people they could or might contact. So it's possible I go on there. I'm excited. I, uh,
Starting point is 00:14:11 excited for you. That'd be fun. I would love to, I would love to watch. you do that. Yeah. But I mean, overall, it's been great. Honestly, I tried the blood elf, the blood elf, the new sky elf starting zone. And it's actually not bad. Like, it's a lot of old assets. It reminds me more of Burning Crusade than it does classic wow. And they mentioned that. They're like, we actually were going for more of like a ghost lands, like type of vibe with that. And it really does feel Burning Crusade. But it still feels not too bad. So apparently the big thing is
Starting point is 00:14:43 at the end of the zone, there's like a kind of retaily type of fight where you like get together and defeat some big boss and it's like, woo, like and people are like, that feels kind of retail. But everything else about it actually feels pretty solid. But I also feel like the idea of
Starting point is 00:14:58 playing the paid for Sky Elf is pretty retail. Like even the concept is retail. Well, apparently it was Chris Metzen's idea. They see. straight up. We're just like, yeah, Chris Metzen was like, let's go crazy, man. And then the whole
Starting point is 00:15:17 dev team was like, we love elves. So they just all like elves. And I'm like, listen, I don't care if you like elves, but like, give me some weird races. That's all I want. That's all I play in like every game. I don't know. It doesn't, uh, it still doesn't feel. But again, I'm just a hater. I don't like elves at all. But what the hell do I care about? Like, it doesn't matter how they were created. I'm like, no, they're trash. Just because 30% of the player base, plays an elf doesn't mean that I think it's fine. If anything that says more about what I think about those 30% that's right. That's right.
Starting point is 00:15:53 Listen, there's a lot of people in my chat. They're just like, yeah, I'll be playing an elf. Yeah, and those people are, you know, fools. Fools is what they are. There it is. You heard it here first. Yep. I stand by that and always will. So yeah, that's pretty fun.
Starting point is 00:16:11 I don't know, what else? I mean, really, I've just been, doing a lot of Wow Forever stuff this week. What else have you been doing? Have you just been playing control? I mean, yeah, that's kind of, I have been trying to go around and, you know, get some more walks in and do stuff.
Starting point is 00:16:31 But really, truly, my computer arrived, my new computer, I got it set up, everything's great, it's wonderful. I immediately messed up OBS, where the stream, because it was like, I don't know, the settings, everything seemed fine,
Starting point is 00:16:48 and I streamed, and then when I went to go look at the recorded video I made, I guess I set the bit rate wrong, so it was just really low. I was like, okay, I'll change the bit rate. And only then did I learn that I inputted the new bit rate
Starting point is 00:17:00 into the wrong OBS thing? So OBS was not recording at a high bit rate. It was streaming at a high bit rate. And I learned that Twitch, if you go higher than its recommended bit rate, it will lower your stream to 720P. Oh, I didn't even know that. Neither did I.
Starting point is 00:17:20 So my stream's at 720P, and I'm freaking out like, what's going on? Why is this happening? I didn't change the setting. It says 1080p here. Later did I discover that I put it in the wrong damn slot. So instead of recording at a high rate, it was streaming. And apparently, Twitch, if you stream above, I think it's 6K, it has a chance to, lower that.
Starting point is 00:17:45 So if you're doing like six megabytes a second or whatever, you're fine. But if you go higher, it can low. And the higher you get, the more chance it has to lower it to 720. Interesting. I'm going to have to check. I think mine's not that high. I think everyone, if you're a partner or whatever,
Starting point is 00:18:01 I think between six and eight is what they suggest. Yeah, I think that's what I'm at. So I'll check it just to make sure. I was like, all right. Six it is. And so everything seemed fine. It was just so dumb. And so yeah, I had that to deal with. And then I had to go through all, you know, brand new computer processes stuff that people do.
Starting point is 00:18:19 And I downloaded everything and made sure everything was working. And so that took like, you know, half a day. And then I went through and had to like, all right, well, now my entire apartment's a mess. So I got to clean, you know, just. Uh, some days. And then, yeah, and then the rest of it, I just, I have to schedule SGS stuff. I have to work around all these other things. I have to have little meetings here or there.
Starting point is 00:18:45 We had to get content up online. You know, work. The business, the business that I have subjected myself to. Let's be clear. No one needs to do this. I do all these podcasts and all these damn videos and all these streams because I enjoy it. And I like being busy like that. With that said, I absolutely would not recommend it.
Starting point is 00:19:07 It's definitely all those things where it's work, but it's also fun. right? You're not just like doing something that you hate. Like it's fun to do. But it's a lot. Yeah, yeah. It's just, you know, it is a lot. It takes time.
Starting point is 00:19:20 And, you know, like even up until right before recording this, I was streaming. And then right before that, I was in a meeting. And right before that, I worked out. So, like, I've been going all day. Hell yeah. I mean, uh, let's see. I kind of been doing that too. I edited the pointless top 10 I put up today, which is NPCs you can't click on.
Starting point is 00:19:41 Love that And then I was Yesterday I was streaming the new Wow Elf zone Checking that out And then today I was also went to the gym Did leg day Working my legs It's a little bit surely getting them back
Starting point is 00:19:56 And I was looking at the Planning out the next top 10 Doing some other stuff And I got this Warhammer thing Yeah So it's pretty busy As well
Starting point is 00:20:08 But I try not I try not to get too busy, of course. Also, today, I got my blue sky account, got flagged as adult. Why? I don't know. It says adult content and explicit sexual images. Let's see. What if I go to your blue sky?
Starting point is 00:20:29 You will see it. You will see that it says explicit. I had to appeal it. Oh, yeah. Blurred your face out. It literally blurs your little avatar out. My avatar is literally, hold on, I'll send you the image. You tell me why you think it blurred this out.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Oh yeah. That's the image. That's the image. Um, I don't, yeah, I don't know why that's a problem. Exactly. I don't understand why it says it's explicit sexual images. Like the only thing there would be the blue hain. Like, what's, I don't know what's weird about that.
Starting point is 00:21:10 Like is it, there's gotta be some sort of like shape or thing that's triggering the, the automated check system, right? The crazy thing is, is that it's been a day since I've, I, uh, appealed it and nothing. It's like, no. That is really weird. And it's not, I mean, I can go to your page fine. It doesn't like flag me with anything. It just blurs out your, your avatar. So, I don't know, maybe if I go there and I'm not logged in.
Starting point is 00:21:40 then it'll be like this account is crazy I don't know it's very weird yeah the only thing it does is it blurs your avatar picture that's what I'm saying it also blurs the header
Starting point is 00:21:53 oh yeah it does that is the header from cyberpunk that's been there for years huh I genuinely don't know that is weird
Starting point is 00:22:05 it's very strange um Boy, I did react to your almost or the too old for this, my almost too old for this about the Mr. Beast book. Yep. And it was pretty much everything I expected it to be. I can't believe it's so audacious in what it is. It is literally they took every possible thing that a kid could be interested in
Starting point is 00:22:35 and crammed it in a book. Yeah. And not like subtly, not in like a fun, creative way. but in like a way that says, oh, we know that you like the Hunger Games, and we know that you like,
Starting point is 00:22:46 you know, all these other young adult novels, and you liked Mr. Beast when he did Squid Game. Also, the plot of the book is, imagine if Mr. Beast was a villain. And you're like,
Starting point is 00:22:59 what do you mean, bro? But also a hero. You're like, okay, this is... Yeah. Yikes. It's pretty much the typical
Starting point is 00:23:09 Mr. Beast stuff. Like, it really is just Mr. Beast. I mean, he's, he's just like a, a fictional character in himself.
Starting point is 00:23:20 It just doesn't make any, like, it doesn't make any sense that. So, all right, I under, the book has the vibe of a man who doesn't
Starting point is 00:23:33 understand how he's perceived. And it's really funny because, he is both a international super spy in this book and also the person who lures contestants to their demise, but also a person who is fighting on the side of the contestants, but also potentially the one who will save the world.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Yes. All of those things in this book. He's really just doing everything. He's like, how can I be like, literally every type of character in this book. For those of you who don't know, the setup for the Mr. Beast character in this, there's a bunch of characters which I don't understand
Starting point is 00:24:18 how any, none of it makes sense. Basically, there's a secret government organization, think Squid Game, or like a secret organization, where they are running a series of games, the deadliest game,
Starting point is 00:24:33 the plural, not to be confused, confused, used with the short story slash movie slash all the previous you know the deadliest game is man like that kind of thing right no
Starting point is 00:24:49 this is games as in the squid game or the Mr. Beast game or whatever the hell games and Mr. Beast what he does is in the beginning he works for this CB organization to go around and recruit people to be in the games because he's told they're looking for
Starting point is 00:25:07 the one the person who will lead the world into the future. And so he goes around and recruits people. But he recognizes and knows that people will die doing this. But he still doesn't, he's like, yeah, I'm in.
Starting point is 00:25:23 If you're going to pay me, I'll do it. That's what his character does. Then, when the games start, they're like, oh, and by the way, Mr. Beast, you're part of it. And he's like, what? So now he's in it. And now he's like, oh, I hate those guys. We've got to take them down, which you were fine being on their side until they came for you. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:25:39 Yeah. Then he manages to get out of his own games. And then the rest of the book is spent him going around secretly, covertly, working with governments and things and like super spies. And he like, how does Mr. Beast in his own mind is a globe-trotting James Bond character? It's genuinely like, it genuinely just feels like he had an idea, which his idea was. what if I was the main character of literally every aspect of this book that I could be? I can be a contestant, a host, an assassin, a secret spy, and then just like ran with it. Then he went to James Patterson or whatever that guy's name is and was like, hey man, you want to do this book?
Starting point is 00:26:28 And he's like, sure. And they're like, we'll make a bunch of money. They'll make it into a movie. And that's pretty much it. It does have the vibe of it. We're trying to make a movie, yeah. Yeah. Because that's the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:26:38 is like they already bought the rights for, or like they're trying to get it to where people buy the rights. And the whole point is, this feels very much like he knows his audience doesn't read. But he said so. He literally the tweet he put out was like, maybe this will be your first book, which is crazy. Yeah, that's. And you know, I saw in your comments section, someone said they worked at a bookstore and there's been a bunch of kids that'll come in, take a picture like with the cut out of Mr. Beast and the book and then not by the book. That sounds right.
Starting point is 00:27:17 That is, it's pretty much everything I expected. So it's, I don't even know. Plus, like, when they were showing the blurbs as somebody who's obviously gotten in the writing, the writings are just like terrible. Like, it's just real bad. Yeah. Yeah, it's not great. It has a little bit of a maybe AI wrote this or maybe, but then they said,
Starting point is 00:27:38 that Patterson isn't into AI. So maybe he, you know, but also he doesn't write half his own books, according to most people. Yeah. So it's like a ghost writer hiring ghost writer, but he's not even a ghost. Yeah, it's very strange, but I would be curious to see how well it's doing, like actually doing. Yeah. So I mean, uh, it's one of those things are like, I'm curious as to how well it's doing amongst the Mr. Beast fans and the kids that like Mr. Beast. then how well it's doing amongst the actual people that read and review books.
Starting point is 00:28:13 I am starting to believe that most of the book sales, because since I posted that video, the algorithm's been hitting me up with, like, reviews of that book. Dude, the amount of reviews, the amount of book talk people and people doing review, it genuinely feels like most of the sales are people buying it to hate on it. Yeah. And I mean That's probably what I would do as well To be honest
Starting point is 00:28:42 That's it reminds me Remember when that show Velma came out And everyone was like It's a terrible show Don't watch it But then all the YouTubers Watched it
Starting point is 00:28:49 So they gave it a second season Yeah I remember that Or whatever was like Morbius is terrible And then they re-released Morbius Like they
Starting point is 00:28:57 Companies don't see The online criticism They see Oh we're making a bunch of money Yeah And really I think that's all Mr. Beast sees as well. Yes, absolutely. We're making a bunch of money.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Yeah. Yeah. It's very clear. I remember when there was some point in the video where you're just like, could you believe Mr. Beast is writing a book? And I'm like, honestly, it would be more surprising to me if Mr. Beast wasn't doing something. At this point, you could be like, Mr. Beast made his own lemonade.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Mr. Beast made his own version of like Garfield. Mr. Beast has like a garden for like 80-year-old women. Like, at this point, Mr. Beast has literally everything he can have. Right. That is, his entire brand is how can I monetize literally everything? Like, that's who he is. So, a book is, if anything, a book is like nothing compared to everything else. The dude's got luncheables.
Starting point is 00:29:54 I'm still shocked that when I go into a Starbucks sometimes I see Mr. Beast gift cards at a Starbucks. Oh, yeah, the Mr. Beast gift cards. What do you mean? What do you, for Mr. Beast or for the Starbucks? You want me to get a Mr. Beast branded Starbucks gift card? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. What do you mean? Yeah, I do not understand.
Starting point is 00:30:16 I don't know. You know what? Maybe we're just too old for Mr. Beast. Maybe that's all it is. I mean, yes, clearly. But also, I think that some people just have that innate ability to get people to focus on them, even if it's bad. I mean, like some, it's that sort of like, even bad news is good because it gets people
Starting point is 00:30:39 like to focus on you. And I feel like some people don't have that thing in their head that is like, well, I don't want it to be bad news. Why would I want people to hate me? And I think some people are like, well, if they hate me, they still care. Yeah. I mean, I just don't have that. I would, this amount of stress I'd have for people talking.
Starting point is 00:31:04 about me constantly about like look at this asshole he sucks I you know I don't envy that about Mr. Beast I'm sure well I guess he probably doesn't care but the amount of people are like look at his stupid smile look at the way he does his videos and this guy sucks I would I would disappear yeah well that's because you're a normal person that's what I kept saying in the video reaction you'd be like I don't get it like how could a how could this person have a bunch of money and be like oh we'll do the show the games where they kill people and like he doesn't care. I'm like, dude, this is, this is like the entire, if some, I said in 30 years from now, if there's a show on television where the robots have taken
Starting point is 00:31:43 over and they're like, we're doing a real hunger games, right, where people will die. Mr. Beest would do that in a heartbeat. He'd be like, I'm your host, Mr. Beast. We got the real life hungry. Like, without a doubt in my mind. Like, if you're at that point where you're like so rich, you can do whatever you want, like, there's no, there's no like standards. There's no like, care for humanity and everything. It's just all about greed and power, really. I mean, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Yeah, it's pretty crazy. I just don't, you know, I absolutely wish I had even like an eighth of an ounce of the not caritude he has. You know what I mean? Yeah. No, it's, uh, I even just
Starting point is 00:32:29 Googled him to be like, what's Mr. Beast even up to? And there's a thing that just said, Mr. Beast rented out the entire Disneyland park for $500,000 for a date with his fiance. So, you know, at least he's not like hoarding money. He's like putting it back into the economy, I guess, even if that is for Disney. How long does, I need to know, Ivan, I need to know. how how much time
Starting point is 00:33:00 does 500 K get you at Disney a single private evening huh that doesn't seem like a lot one private after hours night renting out a portion of the or the entire park
Starting point is 00:33:23 after hour similar to viral creator stunts costs roughly $215,000 for Disney Park or $145,000 for California Adventure adding custom catering, characters, entertainment can push a single evening closer to $500,000. That's still crazy. I mean, you know, I guess if you're that rich,
Starting point is 00:33:45 it's kind of like whatever. Like, if you're at that level of being rich, that's almost like just going on a like a vacation to a normal person. Or it's like, man, I saved up some money. I'm going to do this thing. He's like, yeah, you know what? I think we could drop like half a millie. Got a little Disneyland fun.
Starting point is 00:34:03 Like that's the type of shit he can do. It says Mr. Beast has a net worth of $2.6 billion. Stop. He does not care. And again, I love that he, I love that all of his videos will be like, actually I don't have any money.
Starting point is 00:34:19 It's like, stop. Just admit you're filthy rich. I hate when he does that shit where he's like, actually, I don't have any real money. Most of it's tied up in the business. It's like, stop. Stop lying.
Starting point is 00:34:30 Come on, man. It's the classic, like, a rich person thing. We're like, I have, like, $100 in my bank account, man. But, you know, I do have, like, 57 properties I own. Like, okay. I do have, like, 57 properties, three cars, 20 businesses, and, like, some other shit. So, you know. Like, how did he possibly afford $500,000 if we had no money?
Starting point is 00:34:52 You know what I mean? Yeah, exactly. It's the same thing where, you know, you'll see YouTubers and they'll be like, I, I just, I'm broke. I got nothing. And then I'm like, anyway, this is my new car. And it's like, all right, come on. Stop.
Starting point is 00:35:03 Yeah. Just say you're doing well. It's fine. Calm down, homie. Yeah. They'll just be like, guys, you know, I'm struggling out here. I just need some subs. But like, me and the friends are going to be hanging out, like, Skybox seats at the football game tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:35:17 So we're going to be meeting the team. It's going to be crazy. It's like, uh, yeah, I think you're doing fine. Yeah, it's, I think I genuinely hate when people try to. to pretend they're poor when they're not poor at all. I think that bothers me more than just like normal rich people. Like if they were just like, yeah, I'm rich, I'm just doing this, whatever. It's like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:35:39 I'd value that more than like lying about it and pretending to be poor. Yeah. There's like honesty there. We're not that. But you know what? We are. We're excited to talk about Hero Forge. If you've ever played a tabletop game,
Starting point is 00:35:55 or you spent a few hours trying to find a miniature to represent you in something that you're doing. I don't know. It could be tabletop. It could be anything else, really. There's plenty of uses for it. Only to settle on something kind of generic or something that you had from a board game or whatever.
Starting point is 00:36:10 No, man. Hero Forge is where you need to go. Hero Forge lets you create fully customizable tabletop miniatures directly in your browser. There's so many ways to do it. It's really cute. It's really fun. And the best part is you can just go check it out right now. You can just go and look and mess around at heroforge.com. Starting point is 00:38:08 All right, let's go to chapter 6,000 of the island of traffic out there. Oh my God, the traffic. Let me tell you. It's actually, you know, it's still pretty bad, but it's not as bad as I thought it be. I guess because right now we're recording this
Starting point is 00:38:20 on a Thursday. So maybe Thursday traffic's not as bad, although maybe it is, actually, because it's like almost Friday, so people are like, come on Friday, get here. And they're like driving more crazy. And then on actual Friday, I guess they'd probably drive the craziest. So like, I want to get home, right?
Starting point is 00:38:37 I don't actually know. I, I, um, yep. Thank you. Yeah, you clearly don't drive a lot. My thing is I drive typically at off times. I try to avoid rush hour times. So whenever I have to drive at a rush hour time, I'm just like, Oh boy, here we go, and then it's terrible.
Starting point is 00:39:01 But I've noticed, I don't know if it's always been like this or if I'm going crazy, but sometimes it feels like rush hour has extended its hours. It felt like it used to be like from, I don't know, like 4 to 6 p.m. would be rush hour. Now it feels like from 3 to like 7 p.m. is rush hour. I don't know why that is, but it feels like it's extended. I mean, that's the same here. There's a lot. For me, it feels like if you are going anywhere between three and maybe eight, it's pretty bad.
Starting point is 00:39:34 Yeah. Like, in fact, the last week I was going to pick up the new fire emblem, and it was like 2.30. And I was like, oh, you know what? I'll go get it before the rush hour hits. It was like 2.30. That shit was already crazy out there. It was practically 5 p.m. I was like, what is going on?
Starting point is 00:39:55 So, I don't know. tell us if you noticed that as well in the comments section or if there's a reason behind it or if we're just crazy let us know uh and that's the traffic okay let's go to weather like that i couldn't hear a word of it whatever it was i didn't hear any of it i was just doing like a like a weather but i kept going like a slide no you got noise gated dude i heard nothing i was patiently waiting because I was like, oh, maybe he disconnected. I got nothing for you. Oh, well, the viewers will hear the listeners.
Starting point is 00:40:42 Yeah, no, they'll hear it in the vaude. Yeah, it'll be great, but I didn't hear a damn thing. There are some times where it'll like cut us out or something that happened. We get noise gated and then I have no idea what happens until I hear the actual thing. All right, here we go. Weather time. We have a weather request for Lüven, Belgium. I lived here for one year during my university placement year in 2018 and have very happy memories.
Starting point is 00:41:09 Ode Market is nicknamed the world's longest bar because in the summer all the outdoor seating for each bar merges together to make one giant outdoor seating area. Yeah, that sounds right. I love that. I think that's super fun.
Starting point is 00:41:25 Yeah, that's pretty cool. Let's see. Over in uh, Luh, I don't know to say it. Lüven, Belgium. It is 76. No, right now it's 49. Wow, we.
Starting point is 00:41:44 It was 76 during the daytime, but now it's nighttime. That's how it works. It is. That you nailed it, dude. Yep. It is three mile an hour south-southeast winds, 84% humidity, zero on the UV index, air quality is 34, which is good.
Starting point is 00:42:02 4.44 pressure 30.2 inches, 10 mile visibility, 7.32 a.m. sunrise, 733 p.m. sunset. Uh, moon phase. Waxing. Gibbis. 10 day. We got partly cloudy on Friday, 76. Saturday, mostly cloudy. 71. Sunday. 76 with some PM sun. Monday cloudy with 74. Tuesdays. Partly cloudy. 82. Warming up. Wednesday, partly cloudy, 83, and then it cools down again. Sh showers on Thursday, 69. Nice. Partly cloudy Friday, 68, and Saturday, 68, partly cloudy. This city is so interesting. It looks like one of those ones that I've seen a lot in Belgium that are like hyper walkable.
Starting point is 00:42:54 Yeah, every time I've been to Belgium, all I do is walk. And this seems like one of those where all the main traffic hubs are around the city. and then the city center appears there are rows and stuff but most of it looks like you're walking and if you like zoom out a bit it's a big circle road that goes around
Starting point is 00:43:10 yeah that's so I am pretty impressed that this town appears to be a big center of breweries in Belgium like there are so many breweries here there are a lot of breweries
Starting point is 00:43:25 breweries it's a funny word but also Also, a lot of places. Like, I found this Resto Ribs. Looks like American looks good. Bar Stan looks good. I don't even know what DeJama is.
Starting point is 00:43:44 Dejama melons is, but that looks good. De Wharf. But it all looks like food that you would eat if you were definitely drunk. Oh, yeah, absolutely. There's a lot of drunk food here. Yes, like all of it. DeWRf? I don't even know what DeWRf is.
Starting point is 00:44:01 DeWRef. It's like a dwarf. But they got something that looks like a stew. They got one, like, yeah, this is all drunk food. They got one, it's a burger, and that burger's covered in chili. Oh, yeah, that's super drunk food. This is, this is, oh, you drunk, okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:19 Oh, that's so funny. There's this one place called Trenta, Crendor. This is the place we'd have to go. It looks like an art museum instead of a restaurant. this place it is near the oh boy I don't even know how to say any of this shit
Starting point is 00:44:40 it's it's it's uh near the if you scroll out far enough it's sort of west of the main church in the middle of town but a little bit south directly south of the crude
Starting point is 00:44:57 crude dude Which is a garden, the botanical garden. This is like the fun types of restaurants where it's like, it's got good food, but it looks like you're eating not in a restaurant. Like those really are the best. Yeah, this is a place you go to like have a little adventure rather than I'm going to go get, you know, my sloppy covered burger. This is like, ah, yes, what a delicious three-byte course. I would mess with this. This would be fun.
Starting point is 00:45:28 But I could not, to be clear, this would, if we were drinking that day, this would not be the spot. Oh, yeah. This would be like, no, we need to find gross burgers right now. Yeah, that's, this is the, for the one day where you drank the day before. Now you're just chilling. Absolutely. Okay, time out. Scroll out further.
Starting point is 00:45:52 Go one town over to the west. What the shit is the atomium? I've never seen something so big that it has its own logo on... Like, I've never seen... What is this? That looks like, uh... Oh my god, yeah, it looks like a jungle gym type of thing. Or like...
Starting point is 00:46:13 You know what that looks like? It looks like a Brookstone made that. You know that mall store? Yes, yes. Like straight out of Brookstone. Like the ins... Is it amusement park? What the shit is this?
Starting point is 00:46:24 The inside has like... Lasers Yo, this is crazy But there's also some sort of like Park ground I don't know what that's supposed to be But it's overlooking it What is this?
Starting point is 00:46:40 What is? What is this? Yeah, I actually don't know what this is This is This has to be like one of those One of the things like the bean It's like probably like the Chicago bean But like the Belgian version
Starting point is 00:46:56 Oh, this, you know what this is? This is, all right, it's a symbol of Brussels and Belgium, first off. But what it really is, is, you know how we had like World's Fair stuff? Yep. And you can go to a few places and there's still World's Fair stuff? Yep. This is that. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:47:19 Renovated as a major national event between 2004-2006. It was not intended to survive Expo 58 For which it was the flagship construction Today, it's over 800,000 visitors per year I see So it's just Honestly, that's pretty cool It's a unique
Starting point is 00:47:38 3D representation of Expo 58 On April 17th, 1958 The last universal world fair Organized by Belgium was inaugurated And then this was from that And they were like, yeah We thought this thing was going to crumble But nope, it's good
Starting point is 00:47:54 and we fixed it and repaired it. All right. Cool. Yeah. That is pretty cool. I've never seen anything like. I've never seen Google have its own freaking symbol for a thing on a map before. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:48:06 I haven't seen that either. That is pretty crazy. Because you would think they would do that for a lot of different landmarks. Like if I go to London, do they have the London eye as a thing like that? Oh yeah. They absolutely do. The Tower of London, Buckingham Palace. Don't know, yeah, tourists, spots have their own little things now.
Starting point is 00:48:28 Huh, that is pretty neat. I didn't know they were doing that. Yeah, interesting. Let's see, oh yeah. What do you know? If I go to Chicago, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. The Field Museum is marked on Chicago. They got the Willis Tower there.
Starting point is 00:48:48 Yeah, look at that. Although, the closer you get it, it immediately switches you over to a photo rather than the image, but like, it was there for the briefest of moments it was there. I don't see the bean. I don't see any bean logos. How do you think that would, they just put a bean there? Like a museum of contemporary art, yeah, that has one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:11 Oh, that's fun. Yeah, that is pretty neat. Look at that. We learned today. We did. And that's the weather. Okay, let's go to sports. Sports.
Starting point is 00:49:21 We got sports currently. we got Thursday night football where the Falcons are beating the Packers 17-7. I have it on my other monitor because I care, but I don't care enough to not do other things because I assume the Packers are going to lose. So if they win, they'll be good. I was one of the only people that picked the Falcons on our podcast because I was like, I don't trust the Packers.
Starting point is 00:49:46 And so far, my intuition is correct, although I hope they win. That's my strategy is if I pick the other team and then the Packers win, I'm like, well, the Packers won, who cares? But then if they lose, I get the benefit of a win on our football pickums thing we do. This guy's out of control. I'm out of control. Baseball, we got playoff tracker. And it looks like we are getting to the playoff.
Starting point is 00:50:11 We only got a few more days of regular season baseball. So we've got the Yankees, Red Sox, White Sox, and they're all. in the playoffs it looks like and then there's one more wild card team and it looks like it's going to be the Houston Astros from what I'm looking at here but the way you said that was like
Starting point is 00:50:36 the Houston Astros I mean yeah they've already won a lot so I don't really care but you know I kind of wanted the Orioles they're right there too I wish it was I wish the Orioles were getting in but I don't believe they
Starting point is 00:50:53 can. So that sucks. I just like their goofy ass bird with a baseball hat, to be honest. You know what? Who doesn't? Exactly. And then we got the Padres, Cubs, Phillies, and Diamondbacks all fighting for playoff spots. Although the Cubs did
Starting point is 00:51:10 clinch a playoff spot today, it seems like the Padres will. And the Phillies and the Diamondbacks have won five in a row. So they're making a strong push here, but we'll have to see how that plays out. But the Cubs did get in. So I'm pretty much mainly happy about that. And then the other teams, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Cleveland Guardians, the Texas Rangers, the Atlanta Braves, the Brewers, and the Dodgers,
Starting point is 00:51:36 all making the playoffs. Although, oh, that's why the Astros and the Rangers are battling for first place over there. So that might be the person who wins it gets in. So there's still some playoff battles happening down there. We'll see what happens. In the NBA. We are going to start seeing games next week, October 3rds, the first NBA preseason game. And then in the NHL, we've had the preseason start up.
Starting point is 00:52:03 And it's just nothing really matters, just a bunch of teams playing preseason. It's just practice. But they are playing again. So we will have real hockey pretty soon when they actually play games that matter. And that is sports. Okay What is our fact of the day? Fact of the day
Starting point is 00:52:28 Yay Yay Uh Uh Yeah The day Is Mummies
Starting point is 00:52:38 Smell Woody spicy And a bit sweet That's a weird thing to say And a bit sweet Mummy smell delicious Don't eat them though kids It says that's according to historians at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo who are planning to recreate the smell for visitors.
Starting point is 00:53:03 Uh-huh. It says A combination of human sniffers and scientific instruments revealed that the heady smells weren't just from the oils, balms, and resins used to preserve the bodies. Musk also came from the museum's conservation products and microbial activity on the mummies as they deteriorate. Researchers also plan to recreate the aroma for museum visitors and say their work could provide a non-invasive way to monitor a mummy's condition. It's like a, like I was just like sense of a candle.
Starting point is 00:53:36 It's like going to bath and bodyworks. Yeah, it's exactly what they're trying to do. They're trying to, they're not going to like, you know, open the coffins or whatever, the sarcophagus is. They're literally going to create a scent like Bath and Body Works would to make the smell. of mummies. That's so funny. The smell of mummy. I wonder if they went to someone like that. I'm like, we could use help.
Starting point is 00:54:03 We're looking to create a mummy smell. And you know what? That's the perfect type of thing that YouTubers and streamers and everybody be like, you will not believe what I just bought. It is smell of mummy and I'm going to tell you everything. about it. This mummy smells so good. Guys, I want to just get in there with it.
Starting point is 00:54:33 Oh, you forgot. Also, they have to do this. Guys, I'm in the sarcophagus. I'm touching the, I'm touching the sarcophagus. Wow. Mummy ASMR. Yeah. Yeah, do the mummy.
Starting point is 00:54:50 I love how even things that aren't ASMR now use ASMR tropes. Like I just went and bought a whole bunch of makeup It's like what? You don't need to do you don't need to do that you don't need to do that Yeah And that's your fact of the day Okay Who has come to us with tears in their eyes We've got tears
Starting point is 00:55:16 Woo We've landed on dear illustrious sirs I come to with tears in my eyes and a monkey checking my head hygiene to a ask you, if one of the universes you know had an equivalent of the Paris syndrome, what city from that lore would it be named that condition from the population that would have experienced it? For example, in World Warcraft, instead of Paris is the, it's the stormwind syndrome, and it happened the first time the gnomes that expected a bright castle only saw a very cramped auction house. So, I must, do you know what Paris syndrome is?
Starting point is 00:55:56 Yeah, I think we talked about it. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, the idea that, like, especially a lot of Japanese tourists went to Paris and were like, this place sucks. This smells like sewage. Yeah. I'm trying to think of, like, famous universes.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Because I mainly just think of wow stuff. But, I mean. I mean, I have to imagine anyone in Game of Thrones, for example, if they went to King's Landing, they'd be like, this place sucks. Oh, yeah. Like, that would probably be terrible. It would definitely be bad. I'm trying to think of, like, other game worlds. What about, like, the, the mushroom kingdom? Like, I feel like the mushroom kingdom probably smells like fungus. Like, it's got, like, a strong earthy smell to it.
Starting point is 00:56:45 Yeah, it definitely sucks. The mushroom kingdom definitely sucks. It depends. If there's, if you like the smell of fungus and earth, which maybe, you know, maybe, maybe that's your thing. But if not, yeah, it probably... You just go to the museum. They already got you covered. Yeah, it's like mummies. Bowser's Castle probably smells terrible. I don't know. It's probably just very hot, but I don't know that it smells bad. I mean, if it's...
Starting point is 00:57:12 Oh, it probably smells like sulfur. Who am I kidding? Exactly. It's going to smell like sulfur and stuff. Man, I'm trying... But again, that's like, it's not even what smells bad. It's what do you think would smell good and smell bad. So I guess the Mushroom Kingdom, I think, fits because, like, Bowser's Castle. probably like, oh yeah, it smells bad. He's like evil. Yeah. But the mushroom kingdom, it smells like mushrooms.
Starting point is 00:57:33 So, uh, how I know, I can't really think any other ones. Really? Movies, books. I don't know, maybe, maybe like Lord of the Rings, like elves. What about Riven, Rivenvale? Well, I don't think that would smell. I feel like that place, yeah, that place is set up to be pretty impressive. I think people would be like, yeah, okay. Okay. If anything, that place would smell great.
Starting point is 00:57:59 Yeah, I was trying to think of Star Wars. Like, Star Wars has a lot of places that I imagine would be really cool. But every place sucks in Star Wars, kind of. You know what I mean? Like, all the main, like, Corrassant, like, either you expect it. It's just a big city. So you know what you're getting into. It's, you know, if you go to like, oh, we'll go to Narshada.
Starting point is 00:58:19 It's like, oh, you mean the casino world that's also, like, scummy and skeezy? I guess maybe you could say that one, because everyone's, Like, I'm gonna make it big and be famous. But like, you know, Star Wars' biggest problem is everything's one thing. So it isn't like, oh, this is a planet of different climes and different... No, no, no, no. That's the ice world. That's the desert world.
Starting point is 00:58:38 That's the water world. Like, you know, it isn't, uh, everything's there and it's beautiful. It could find little alcoves of greatness. Like, no, no, no. If you're going to tattooing, it's all pretty shit. So you kind of know what you're getting into. Yeah. That's, uh, I think.
Starting point is 00:58:55 I think with a lot of these worlds you probably do know what you're getting into for the most part. Yeah. All right. Next up, we've got... Dear Lustry, sirs, with tears of my eyes from the groin muscle I pulled cleaning the house. I ask of you, with spooky season finally upon us, do you have any all-hollows-eve traditions? We usually watch, like, Halloween town, like the old Disney show. what do you mean
Starting point is 00:59:27 the old Disney show Halloween Town Halloween Town Never seen Halloween Town? Oh my God, never I have not What? What is this show? It's very much a like
Starting point is 00:59:41 Disney show From 1998 Surely I would have seen this I guess I didn't have the Disney Channel In 19 Debbie Reynolds is in this Yeah Debbie Reynolds is the grandmother and so it's like honestly for a Disney movie
Starting point is 01:00:00 it's like pretty solid like genuinely a pretty solid Disney movie and it's just kind of like a fun goofy movie it's not a goofy movie but it's a fun wacky movie and we'll usually watch that or like some other Halloween movies like Nightmare Before Christmas or something and we like you know we set up all our Halloween things
Starting point is 01:00:22 all over the house but on actual Halloween we don't really do anything to be honest I guess it's more so I guess you do things if you have kids wait a minute wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait
Starting point is 01:00:36 Philip Van Dyke is not the kid Philip Van Dyke is a was in this movie is not Dick Van Dyke's kid but is an actor who is in a bunch of Disney stuff but he has and what like
Starting point is 01:00:56 he's got the Van Dyke name I guess I guess he worked a lot in the 90s and then in 2003 he stopped it is always weird when you see like
Starting point is 01:01:08 someone that does a lot of stuff then they'll just like randomly stop a lot of times you're just like uh oh did they die but sometimes like they just like quit just like yeah I don't do this although although there was talk of making a new Halloween town
Starting point is 01:01:20 and he said he'd be interested in returning Oh, okay. Are they gonna... Also, he was in 2001's Halloween Town 2, which you clearly missed out on. No, we've seen Halloween Town 2 as well. The other ones we have not seen. They tried making some other ones.
Starting point is 01:01:38 They're pretty bad, I think. But I don't know, because I didn't see him. But usually, if there's like a third or a fourth one, those are when they're like not good. Second one was actually pretty decent. To be clear, I just learned, not only is their Halloween Town 2, Calabar's revenge.
Starting point is 01:01:54 But a few years later, there was Halloween Town high. And then a few years after that, there was return to Halloween Town. Yeah, I didn't see those last two. I don't think anyone did. I assume those are not good because I just assume. Maybe they are. Maybe they are good. Yeah, it looks like you're right.
Starting point is 01:02:14 The Halloween Town Stars Reunite for nostalgic podcast episodes. dropping October 1st is what it says here. So I don't know if they're doing it. I guess they're just doing a podcast according to this. But whatever it is, I'm just
Starting point is 01:02:35 going to watch the original. It's so funny that our are, what would, what things do you have? Oh! Well, 2025, haul out the, oh, never mind. Wait, is this
Starting point is 01:02:48 Kimberly J. Brown. Does all she do Halloween-based things? No, she's a general hospital. But like Halloween Town High, yeah. Oh, this is so fascinating. Anyway, it doesn't matter. I don't have really any traditions for Halloween. I'm not a very tradition guy.
Starting point is 01:03:16 I kind of just do whatever makes me happy at the moment. So like the fact that you have one is pleasing to me. I mean, I'm very, I like tradition. not like they don't have to be like crazy traditions they could just be like you know whatever traditions like we watch this movie or like we go to like the pumpkin pad like that type of thing
Starting point is 01:03:32 so that's yeah I'm saying like I don't have I don't have any of that you're also very much a very much you're also very much a you go with the flow you're just kind of like whatever right if someone wanted to do something I would do
Starting point is 01:03:49 I'd be like okay cool sounds fun but I'm not like here's my plan for you know, Halloween. Yeah. And I mean, it's like I was saying in that one thing we watched where it was like nostalgia and you're like, I don't really get nostalgia or whatever, but like, I'm the opposite.
Starting point is 01:04:05 I get nostalgia. I like routine. And I think that I think there's just something comforting in routine and nostalgia. I think that's why I like it because it can be comforting. And that's the dear illustrious sirs. All right. What is our big new story of the day?
Starting point is 01:04:23 New story of the day. Weep, beep, beep. Yep. This is a good one. See it. Wild monkey spotted on Florida man's trail cam. Yes.
Starting point is 01:04:40 Yes. Do you think this is the monkey from monkey Monday? So he bit that dude and was like, I'm out. And he's been in the wild ever since. I hope. Absolutely. And now he's like creating an army. Oh my.
Starting point is 01:04:53 my god, like Planet of the Apes. Yes. In Umatilla, Florida, a Florida homeowner got a wild surprise on his trail camera this week, and an unexpected visitor wandered onto his property, a wild monkey. The backstory. Jason Lewis, who lives on a secluded four-acre lot,
Starting point is 01:05:14 and Umatilla said he used to see all, or he's used to seeing all kinds of wildlife, but the latest trail cam was a first. Lewis had his trail cam set up for about four years on his property and over the years he's he's seen his fair share of forest critters, bears, deer, even large alligators. You name it, Florida's got it.
Starting point is 01:05:36 We got it, Lewis said. However, around noon on Sunday while attending church with his wife, Lewis received an alert from the camera phone. I ignored it. Can you imagine in church an alert goes off, you look at it and it's like just a monkey in your backyard? There really is the most Florida thing that could happen. Uh, I ignored it. Midday, I'm like, must be the Sandhill cranes, Lewis recalled.
Starting point is 01:06:02 Then it went off again. I was like, I'm gonna look. And sure enough, a monkey. What they're saying. After checking the trail came footage, Lewis shared the photos on social media where the post took off. Over a thousand views and 24 hours, I've posted so many things and your look. lucky to get a hundred views, but the monkey, I guess people like the monkeys. They love monkeys, and it's unusually. Lewis bought his property specifically for peace and quiet, enjoying the remote location with his children and grandchildren while having a monkey in the neighborhood is certainly unusual. Lewis says he doesn't mind his new neighbor as long as their interactions stay directly
Starting point is 01:06:43 on camera. More monkey sightings. The primate captured on camera appears to be a resous macacoc. The species was originally introduced to Florida in the 1930s in Silver Springs, but in recent years, sightings have been reported further out, like in Longwood, Mount Dora, and Orange City. According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, they are not native to the state. FWC strongly advises never feed the wild monkeys to maintain a safe distance and note that animals carry diseases including herpes bee. Oh man, how'd you get herpes? from a monkey.
Starting point is 01:07:22 Yep. So yeah, there we go. The monkeys are back and they're back with a vengeance in Florida. All right. Thanks so much. We'll see you next time.
