Starting point is 00:00:00 Today's episode's brought you by Factor. Factor just got those good meals delivered right to your home. Now let's show me to this podcast. Everybody, it's time for Goose and Trenton. Let me sit, friend dog in the morning. In the morning. We have to be live, live, live, live, live, live. In four hour reporting studio, recording.
Starting point is 00:00:22 Record it. Wake your ass up. It's up next, Trenton in the morning. Everybody, one and Saturday, go to Jackson, Crendor in the morning. Hello everybody and welcome Who another exciting episode of Cox and Crendor in the morning Oh my translators here I see
Starting point is 00:00:45 I'm the translators the thing that he is saying Right, right and uh what am I feeling Uh he wants to express his emotions But I have no access to his emotional repertoire Ah yes I see I see So you're more like an AI than you are No you're a CI Crendor intelligence
Starting point is 00:01:06 Crenor intelligence Right, you only scrape what I have Given you and you can broadcast that back Right, yeah, and then half the times I just don't scrape Well, yeah, yeah, I mean like that seems rude to be honest Well, Crendor intelligence is kind of rude sometimes This CI problem is yeah, I'm a little worried It's growing sentient
Starting point is 00:01:34 Uh, how's your intelligence been? You know, um, not superior or whatever the hell we're calling it now. Uh, it's been, it's been all right. Of average is what I would say. Of average intelligence. I will say, though, um, I've been playing a lot of, uh, Ace Combat 8 online, like the PVP mode. And it's made me question the intelligence of some other people. Like, so it shouldn't be.
Starting point is 00:02:04 that big of a leap for anyone who's played any PVP online, anything to understand what I'm about to say. When a game is squad-based, stick together. That's, that's, I mean, it's, it's, it's been years and people just don't. And like, the whole point of having a wingman is that the wingman's just there. If you're fighting against other players in another squadron and a guy is on your ass, then your wingman should be on his ass. Instead, everyone just kind of goes to try and score as many points as possible for themselves. But like, a win is a win. I don't know, man. I'm like, I will do whatever it takes to help us achieve victory. And other people are like, no, no, no, I'm trying to get points to it. It's like, okay. I feel like this surprising
Starting point is 00:02:52 you, this feels like your first multiplayer experience. It's not surprising me. Oh, it's not, it's not surprising me. I'm saying that other people should have experience with that and understand what I've been doing this week. Is dealing with the intelligences that I sometimes question whether they are of average or otherwise. No, yeah. I mean, that's pretty much every day in my legal legends thing was like, hey guys, we should do this thing. And someone's like, I don't want to do that. I want to go farm jungle. I want to do this shit. And then, you know, literally, the amount of times I've had that, or even just playing FPS games,
Starting point is 00:03:29 people just do their own shit. Like, if anything, it's more rare when you get a team that works together and everything. You're like, oh my God, this is insane.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Yeah, it's so like, you know, think about any top gun movie or whatever you've seen. If you have a guy on your butt and you can hear his targeting like, be it behind you, you know missiles are incoming.
Starting point is 00:03:49 If I'm dodging, evading, if I'm doing maneuvers, if I'm flying around, and he's still on me, that's because, no one's gotten on him. And I'm like, where's the team?
Starting point is 00:03:59 And I can't, I can't help you get someone off your butt if I got a guy on me. So I'm like, you know, I feel like I'm that dude in, Star Wars like, they came from behind. That's me.
Starting point is 00:04:13 I'm just like constantly. Star Wars. Oh, that's Warcraft 3. My bad. Right. Right. Warcraft 3. Yeah, the dwarves where it's like,
Starting point is 00:04:22 they came from, they came from behind. That is, that is, from Star Wars, though, just so we're clear. Oh, is it? It is. Wait, what Star Wars thing is it from?
Starting point is 00:04:32 The very first one, like a New Hope. It's when they attack the Death Star. Oh, I didn't even, dude, I haven't seen that movie in so long that I have no idea. There's somebody who's like, Krandor, how do you not know that? Listen, I don't watch movies all the time, all right? Yeah, but it is also from Warcraft, so you are correct. Yeah, I'm far more likely to remember something from Warcraft than Star Wars. It's interesting because they're objectives, right?
Starting point is 00:04:56 And the objectives aren't red. Now, sure, there are a bunch of other targets that are white and you can kill them and get points. But, like, focus on the objectives. I'm just like, guys, no matter what, be it in a plane or be it in an FPS or whatever, no one wants to do the objectives in any game. They're all just like, I'm farming, bro. I'm trying to get points, bro. It's like, okay, all right.
Starting point is 00:05:19 It's so funny to me because by doing the objectives, I still get more points than you. Yeah. That's just like this inherent thing of like, I gotta go like kill stuff or grind stuff instead of doing the objective. I mean, it was like League of Legends. People would be like, I got a grind. I got to get stronger. It's like, dude, we're strong enough. Let's push mid.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Let's get, let's get a tower down. And there's like, nah. And then you wait too long. And then the other team catches up. And then you lose. And there's like, idiot team. Yeah. I have found myself doing less of the like engaging the enemy kind of PVP now and just straight up doing.
Starting point is 00:05:54 There's one form of it that is. is mission-based. And so basically it's two teams of four and you do an objective. It's like blow up this airfield, attack these guys, do whatever. And then at the end, whoever is the most points gets MVP and then whatever team has the most points wins. And then combine together, both teams get a final score
Starting point is 00:06:16 that gives them points, which is like, you know, A rank, B rank, S rank, whatever. And it's so much more chill. Because at that point, I don't care. Go fly. Go, you know, go shoot. down whatever, I don't care. There's no, it's not us versus them. We're all technically working together, but there's two teams. I'm, uh, I'm actually curious because I don't know how
Starting point is 00:06:34 Ace Combat even works. I've never played in Ace Combat. All I know is I tuned into you one time and I just, there was a bunch of talking and you were just like zoned in, like staring at the screen and it was just like, trots a brubbh, bha, bha, then it's like, whirrub, then the music's playing is just, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I was like, dude, I don't know what's happening. Ace Combat is a series that the best way you can describe it is like It's the closest thing to being a mecca anime without being robots Ah, okay And that bit where you're like everyone's talking there's planes flying
Starting point is 00:07:07 That's why I love the game It isn't just a plane sim It's an action game that puts you in the battle In a way that isn't just you're above it flying a plane You can hear the chatter of the battle below You can hear the different things happening and so as you play, it feels more like you're a part of it. Yeah, it's, I love it.
Starting point is 00:07:28 If I had to explain the story, it's basically earth, but a little strange, but it's still real. So they jokingly call it strange real, is the name of the world. And there are, you know, nations that are sort of Russia-E and nations that are America-e and nations that are, you know, it's, again, inspired by the real world, but they get away with having them all go to war all the time. without any sort of like, why would this real world nation do that? So they don't have to deal with that nonsense. And each game isn't necessarily connected to each other, but they all take place in the same world. So if you played one game, there may be something in a future game that you're like,
Starting point is 00:08:07 oh, I know what that kind of thing is or how that relates to this other thing, but it isn't necessarily something you need to know. The only thing that really matters is that in the 90s in this world, a meteor, asteroid, whatever, was coming towards the Earth, and a bunch of the bigger nations tried to stop it with various technological advancements. And all it did was shatter it into a bunch of smaller pieces and it came crashing down on the Earth
Starting point is 00:08:35 and caused a massive catastrophe, a refugee crisis. Everything was kind of a mess. Nations started fighting over resources, etc., etc. It got crazy. And each game takes place X number of years after that event. And so the current one, Ace Combat 8, is in 2030, I think. I see.
Starting point is 00:08:56 And so, yeah, it's kind of a real-world game, but set on an alternate earth, but an alternate earth that developed a lot of technology very, very quickly in order to deal with this meteor problem. And now all that technology is being leveraged against each other as the remaining nations vie for control. of the world. You know, it's pretty fun. I love these games. It's not, it's more action than like a Microsoft flight sim. It is very clearly, uh, airplane anime. And I love it. Yeah, because when I see it,
Starting point is 00:09:33 I was always like, I don't know, like no, no idea what's happening is it. It looks like one of those Microsoft flight sim games at first. And I'm like, okay, you just fly around. Is that it? and you shoot stuff. But then I figured you wouldn't be playing that if that was the case. Because I'm like, you love your story, except for when it's like, you know, Dynasty Warriors or something. Yeah, this one's insane because you literally, I think, have a ghost in your head. I don't know what's going on right now.
Starting point is 00:10:01 I don't know if I'm a crazy person, but there's a man talking to me and he's dead. And I'm like, oh, okay. So it's that kind of stuff. I have no idea what's going on in this game right now. And I love it. I love it. Because when I saw it, I was like, oh, is this like real life Star Fox or something? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:10:18 I would say it's pretty close to Star Fox. That's pretty accurate. But it is not real life. But at the same time, Thieve, the main city in this one, is literally modeled after Toronto, Canada. Oh, okay. So if you fly around, you can see, like, if you look down and you know Toronto landmarks, you can see them. And it's quite funny. I see.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Okay. Well, now I understand it. I'm not going to play it, but I understand it now. Like Ace Combat 5, which is one of my favorite ones, came out in the early 2000s. It is like so supremely animated that they straight up just got the entire cast of Cowboy Bebop to be voices in it. Which is great. Wait, what did this come out? Like the first one.
Starting point is 00:11:01 Oh, God. The first, this is an old franchise. It's like 30 years old. Oh, wow. Okay. Yeah. Was this on like Super In bed? or something, like normal Nintendo?
Starting point is 00:11:12 I don't know what the first Ace Combat... PlayStation. What the first Ace Combat game was. Or when that came out. 1995. It was called Air Combat then. Ah, what was it on? PlayStation.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Ah, okay. There was PlayStation. Yeah, I didn't start playing Ace Combat until PlayStation 2. I didn't realize this game went back that far. Like, I mean, I did because there's like eight of them, right? but I didn't realize how... I mean, it's a franchise that has a lot of fans, but they don't release it often.
Starting point is 00:11:47 But when it happens, like if you go back and you watch... What was it? The Game Awards or Key 3 or one of the things where they revealed it. The sleeper cell activation are the people in that audience and me and anyone at home, when the big screen started playing the sound effects of you being targeted and like a...
Starting point is 00:12:06 They didn't even show anything yet. They were just teasing it for like a split set. second, everyone, like the neuron fires and everyone's like, yes. And that's, yeah, that's what this is. It's one of those games where if you love it, you love it. But it isn't going to be the thing you spend your entire life playing. I see. That's like if I was watching in the Nintendo direct and I heard the animal crossing people be like, I'd be like, oh, yes, exactly. But you're not like the animal crossing person. You know what I mean? Yeah, like I still, I love it. I'll play it, but it's not like my whole thing, but it's like, you know, I enjoy Animal Crossing because it's just like a
Starting point is 00:12:44 chill fun thing to play. But there's definitely people. It's like their entire existence is like Animal Crossing. That's it. So that's probably my closest thing I can think. I just been playing a while. I don't know what happened. I don't know if I got like algorithmed. But all I get now on my YouTube shorts. And, you know, it could have been sexy ladies. It could have been food videos. It could have been anything I want to watch. But instead, it's all like the same five people making, did you know?
Starting point is 00:13:20 And then something about wow. Listen, they see you talking about it on geekenders. They see you mentioning it. The algorithm is trying to get you to come back. And I will. I will play in November. I have no intention of playing before them. I'll play in November.
Starting point is 00:13:38 And, yeah, I mean, I'm already getting, I'm making a shadow priest troll. I'm going to get that damn mask. I could never get back in vanilla. That troll mask that was like, sorry, it's for cloth users only, bitch. Well, now I'm going to get it. And I'm going to wear it.
Starting point is 00:13:54 And I'm going to be cool. And, yeah, I'm excited. I'm going to play for like, I don't know, however long a month the subscription is, a month, I guess. And, yeah, then I'll be like, all right, cool. That was fun. So is that your main reason for playing? Playing Shadow Priest is just that mask?
Starting point is 00:14:09 Yes, 100%. Like, I'm not even gonna lie. Yes. I've never played Shadow Priest. I had no interest in it. And then I think during Legion, I goofed around in it because I was like checking out all the different weapons.
Starting point is 00:14:22 And I kind of freaking loved it. And was like, O'Kard? And then, uh, yeah, but that's, I'm sure it's a different experience from the Legion version of Shadow Priest to this version of Shadow Priest. Oh yeah. although they are they have tweaked the
Starting point is 00:14:38 talents and stuff around so a lot of things are new compared to the classic versions like they've added in some abilities from like Burning Crusade or wrath I don't know for Shadow Priest specifically but for like some of the other classes so it might be a little more modernized compared to the classic version
Starting point is 00:14:58 but that's probably more of a good thing to be honest yeah I don't know I figured I would go have fun goof around I'm not I'm not going to be one of those people who tries to plow through it and tries to get in an X number of hours a day. I know exactly what's going to happen. There's going to be people that first week that are like, Max Level did it.
Starting point is 00:15:15 It's like, cool, man. Yep. That is absolutely, there are always going to be people to do that. But, I just don't understand the rush. You know what I mean? Like, I don't, I don't, if it's Warcraft forever, then the whole intention is like, this is the chill version of the game.
Starting point is 00:15:34 Yeah. I mean, they've said themselves it's about the journey, not the destination. Like, it really is more about the leveling process. That's kind of a classic. Well, it's always been. It's just the process. And so now they've added new zones. They've had all these things.
Starting point is 00:15:46 They've added like additional quests. So like, for example, the Mancrucks wife quest, like after you turn that in, normally he'd be like, thanks. And that was it. Now there's like a follow-up quest. So like they've added on to older zones and older quest lines. So there's just like a lot of new ways to go about leveling, which is really nice. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:04 I'm excited to see what the vibe is with it. I hope it is as chill as my mind makes it out to be. You know what I mean? Like I want to just go around and experience stuff and be like, oh, what's that over there? And, you know, not I don't want to do, I know everyone right now is doing the like tough boy challenge. You know what I mean? Yep, that's the one, the tough boy challenge. Yeah, I don't know what it's called, but Sam and all of them are doing the tough boy challenge.
Starting point is 00:16:33 Dodgers doing it everyone and that's awesome. I love that. I love that they've imposed little artificial challenges on themselves. Cool. I do not want that. I do not want to be challenged. I just want to like be a troll and go do troll dungeons and like collect troll gear and be like
Starting point is 00:16:49 yeah, cool, I'm a cool dude. That's it. That's all I want. Yeah. You should when it comes out we should play on the role play play on the role play server because that truly is the best experience you're going to get for just going around. And just chilling.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Because I mean, when you're on the roleplay server, there's no, no PVP, even PV sometimes is a little crazy. But the role play, you walk around, you'll see some troll interacting with like an orc like, like, greetings, ma. I be looking for the right path. And you're just like, dude, this is awesome. Yeah. Right. That sounds great. That sounds great.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Yeah. And it's just everybody, everybody's chill. So that's what I'm doing. I'm playing on the roleplay server. But yeah, I've been, I've been doing the Dodger Sam. Kraken hardcore challenge they got going. I'm a Noam Warlock. I'm level 16.
Starting point is 00:17:40 But I'm kind of just chilling as well. I mean, I've already done hardcore. I got my Taryn shaman to 60 in actual hardcore while. So that's, uh, I kind of know all the spots to avoid. I know the, like, don't go in caves. A lot of, a lot of rookie mistakes out there. They go into caves. They go into like hyperspawn areas.
Starting point is 00:18:01 You don't do that. Plus, as a warlock. I just have my void walkers. So I'm just like, uh-oh, I aggrove something and then he just goes in and he's like,
Starting point is 00:18:07 I'm taunting it. And then you're good. Do they, uh, I mean, like when you make these self-imposed challenges, right?
Starting point is 00:18:16 Like, here's an example. I know that on Geekender's Dodger was talking about how, um, she couldn't use anything that wasn't crafted by people
Starting point is 00:18:26 that are in this challenge. Here's my question. Is everyone on the up and up? Is everyone in on it together or is there some people who it's like, no, that person clearly cheated. Uh, no, that's pretty much because everybody in the guild is like either
Starting point is 00:18:41 a streamer, YouTuber, or a friend. And so they're all in the Discord that we have. And so we have like a gear request channel. We have like a graveyard channel or you post if you died. You have like the general. So somebody can be like, hey guys, I need peace bloom. And so it'll be like, yo, I got peace bloom. And then they'll like
Starting point is 00:19:00 meet up. Like, for example, I was like, yo, I need gear for my warlock and then I met up with a guy in Stormwind, and then he made me gear. So it's like that type of thing. And it's got proximity chat as an add-on. So you can push to talk and you can talk in-game and it's all proximity-based, which is pretty cool. That's kind of cool.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Yeah. But yeah, everybody's kind of in on it. I mean, like I said, I've done hardcore. And it's definitely crazy. And Blizzard made their own like official hardcore servers. And they're doing it again. So like for a while, for ever when it launches or, I don't know if it's happening when it launches,
Starting point is 00:19:33 but they have like hardcore servers. So when you die, you can't respawn. But you can transfer your character that died to a normal server and keep playing it. So like, it's not like they're dead forever. But yeah, for this challenge, it's the old Amish challenge. It used to be the Amish challenge.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Then they changed the name for whatever reason. They didn't want to offend the Amish, I guess. Which I don't know. Yeah, how would they know? Yeah. I feel, yeah, they wouldn't know. How would they, how would they be aware of it? It's not like we're making fun of them either.
Starting point is 00:20:07 We're like just living their lifestyle. If anything, we're like honoring the Amish through this challenge. They don't want that. No, that's the problem. They're like, do not honor us. Yeah, that's the whole point. It's like, everything's from within the guild
Starting point is 00:20:22 or the family. And it's, you know, you can't have professions that correlate with each other so like you cannot be a skinning leatherwork. You have to be like skinning alchemy. So that's one of the ways to force people to interact in the guild. So it's fun. I mean, I'm just chilling.
Starting point is 00:20:41 I'm just kind of leveling. I'm not going hardcore mode or anything. Well, it is hardcore, but I'm personally not going crazy. So yeah, but... That's cool? I mean, like, you know... It's also one of those things where a lot of people don't play wow very frequently. So for a lot of people, this is like their, oh my God, I haven't played wow and forever type of thing.
Starting point is 00:21:05 And I'm just like, yeah, you know, I just leveled elf to 14, my Tar and Shaman the 15. I guess I could do a warlock. Like, for me, it's just like, I know another character. So it's kind of just subjective for the subjective perspective. I guess the thing that I keep thinking about is how it's been around so long that it's kind of like, when I see someone on YouTube watching Lord of the Rings for the first time.
Starting point is 00:21:37 And I'm like, how on earth have you never once given it a shot to try and watch this thing? And then you realize, oh, you're 20. Gotcha. You weren't even alive when it came out. So this was never on your radar. And I feel like that's probably the case for a lot of people when it comes to
Starting point is 00:21:52 Wow. They just, it wasn't a, you know, when Wow came out, they either weren't born or they were too young to care. And then it's been around so long has just been in the background. And so now having a new excuse to play, a new, like, I think it's kind of fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:08 And it's, uh, it's interesting because there's a lot of people that grew up with wow. I mean, like obviously, we grew up with wow. Uh, but now a lot of people are like parents and they're having their kids play wow with them. And so the kids are actually starting to play wow
Starting point is 00:22:24 again because their parents are having them play while. So we're getting like a whole new generation of wow people, which is kind of of crazy, which is more like the gen alphers or whatever. I don't know what generation like they'd be, but yeah, there's a lot of new players just from that. Shout to the gen alfers. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Because yeah, I mean, it makes sense. There's a lot of people that grow up and they're like, yeah, my, because even like for us, I remember there's people like, oh, my dad played EverQuest, my dad played Starcraft, right? Like, there's a lot of that. So now it's just kind of like, oh, yeah, my dad plays Warcraft or like, whole family plays warcraft, that type of thing. And so you grow up and you're like, dude, yeah, wow.
Starting point is 00:23:04 So I think that's, it's an interesting way to get people to start playing for Blizzard at least. It's very cool is what I'll say, which is why I want to give it a shot. If this was just another, like while Classic didn't do it for me, all the other versions they've had doesn't do it for me. But this, I feel it. I feel like in my bones. Like, yeah, all right. Okay. This is kind of just what I've wanted where it's just, it's literally Classic Plus.
Starting point is 00:23:28 It's like they're taking the formula of classic wow and just building upon that, which honestly, I think is the best new player experience they could make. Because classic wow in general, like, you know, you can play as a new player, but there are a lot of things that are lacking in for like quality of life purposes. But then in retail wow, it can be overwhelming. There's so much shit going on. It's not even like the same game in terms of like an old school RPG. So this is kind of trying to, I think, blend the two a little bit.
Starting point is 00:23:58 but still leaning more towards classic but I think that's good because it's more of that journey not the destination and it teaches you about your character in the world and all that stuff and then it teaches you about leveling and abilities and all that stuff and I think it just helps you to even play retail if you wanted to down the line
Starting point is 00:24:15 yeah I mean I think it's a good it's a good gateway we'll say yeah it definitely is and honestly my YouTube channel agrees it's been doing great Yeah. Again, I think that's because you have been at it a long time and you aren't.
Starting point is 00:24:36 Like, you've given no one a reason to say, oh, this guy, he only goes with the things that are popular. Right. Like, you don't, you know, say, oh, this is trash unless it actually is. Yeah. I try to just be like a chill, honest person in a landscape where. now in of just dramatic reactionary over the top takes
Starting point is 00:25:04 composed of also just like people trying to farm content and money and shit whereas it's just like if I'll click on videos they'll just it's just like the same shit everyone else is making or just being like is it the time of Blizzard like blah blah that's like that same type of
Starting point is 00:25:21 cadence a lot of them have like is this the downfall of Blizzard is this the resurgence of Blizzard are we in a Blizzard Renaissance? It's just like, I'll just open a video, be like, hey guys, what's up? Like, I don't know what the hell's going on. Right? It was just like, we're in a sea of just like AI slop written scripts and like all that.
Starting point is 00:25:41 And I'm just trying to, I'm just trying to keep it real. I think it's refreshing. I hope it's refreshing. Well, I mean, I think for the people who are watching your videos, it's nice to, again, this kind of goes back to, uh, I'm all week. I've been getting people coming out of the work. like, yo, a friend just recommended to me your control video, and I haven't seen you in like 12 years. Glad you're still good, good. There's something about consistency over a long period of
Starting point is 00:26:14 time where people may fall off, but eventually will realize like, oh man, this person's still doing their thing. They're still going. I want to catch up with them and see what's up. Yeah, and I think you're having a lot of that right now Yeah, no, that's definitely part of it Even when I streamed, there's a lot of people like, dude, I haven't seen you in forever Like that, you know, that always happens But I think it happens especially when we get like a big Resurgence of people coming back to the game
Starting point is 00:26:43 Because obviously they haven't been looking at wow stuff So people be like, I don't even know you streamed or I didn't know you made wild stuff And I'm just like, I've been here Still going Um, in fact, I saw a post on a Reddit where they're like, who are some streamers that aren't annoying and bad or like YouTubers or whatever? And the
Starting point is 00:27:02 top one was me. And then someone else was like, Cox and Crenor. I was like, dude, nice. We're still relevant, even if we are old and decaying. But I did write down when
Starting point is 00:27:18 we were eating brunch last week. There was not many people there. It was like a random Thursday getting brunch and it was towards the end of the brunch hours but this old couple set it down and the man I wrote down what he said because he said it very loud in the booth right next to us oh boy okay and so just picture it's like two is probably like our parents age like late 70s so like sit down and the guy goes oh good to see you again I'll have a margarita and then she's like
Starting point is 00:27:56 like what? And he's like, yeah, just an iced tea. And then he's like, where's my beef? Where's the beef thing? And she's like, the beef thing. And he's like, did they remove the beef thing? And she's like, oh, yeah, that. And then he's like, I love the beef thing. I mean, here's the question. Was he goofing? Was he drunk? Like, he's asking for a margarita. I assume it's a brunch place. So maybe he could get one. But maybe they were like, sir, you've had too much. And what was going on with him? This is only a brunch place. They don't even have margaritas. That's even better.
Starting point is 00:28:30 That's even better. He's, he's just saying this for, you know, to try and get a laugh. Yeah. So he's funnier. Then he goes,
Starting point is 00:28:40 yeah, me and my wife, we've been married 85 years. And she's like, oh my, wait, that doesn't make sense. And he's like,
Starting point is 00:28:46 ha, it's 71. And he's like, just get in. It's 56. What? Yeah. So I think 56 is there.
Starting point is 00:28:55 I don't even know if that's supposed to be funny. That just sounds like a crazy man. He was kind of crazy. So, and then he's like, he's like, all right, then he has his wife order. And she's like, I'll have this thing. And he's like, come on, you guys got to feed her. She's starving. I was just like, what?
Starting point is 00:29:16 Yeah. He was very much the type where he's like, I'm going to make everybody around me laugh all the time. I'm going to try so hard. I get it. I've been there. I understand this man, but I would never, for some reason,
Starting point is 00:29:32 trying to get people to laugh is a friend thing. If I have a friend, I know they have to tolerate me by law, so I'll try my hardest to get them to laugh. But the minute I'm in public with random strangers, that is not my objective at all. I'm just trying to get through the conversation.
Starting point is 00:29:50 Yeah. And you know, they're just, they're doing their job. They want to go home. they're probably like I just you know I'll take your order to do whatever maybe you know throw one joke in there is fine like if he would have just been like you know I'll have my margarita just kidding just give me an iced tea and then that was it like okay you got your one joke in
Starting point is 00:30:08 but he was like it was one after the other like he thought he was on stage or something what's the do uh and then yeah we uh they kind of calmed down a bit after that he did have a couple more instances of trying to be goofy, but then we, we left. So he may have had more. And honestly, he probably did. It's so funny to me that in LA, that would, like, out of all the things, that's the one thing in Los Angeles, the people would be like, nah, dude, stop. Yeah. Well, L.A. is very much its own monster. Yeah, that's real. That's real. Yeah. Instead of doing that, they'd probably just be like, here's my screenplay. We're like, oh, I've been working on the latest movie.
Starting point is 00:30:57 You seen it? Like that type of shit. Yeah. Let's see. That was really my only crazy story out in public from the week. Do you have any crazy out in public stories? I did go for a walk the other day. And when I was out, there was a guy who was, uh, I don't even,
Starting point is 00:31:20 know how to describe this man. You ever see any image of like an Italian or French beach and there's always that guy in the thong who shouldn't be in the thong? Yes. Okay. That's the mental image I want to put in your head. That guy. All right. You know, the belly that just like clearly is only from beer, right? That like really bulbous belly. And, you know, he's got the hair slick back and he's like a little too tan. That's this man. So anyway, I got you. I'm walking around doing my walk and this guy is kind of in front of me
Starting point is 00:31:57 the entire time. And he's keeping a pretty good pace so he's in front of me most of my walk. And the entire time, I don't know if this man was he got, he had an itch or I don't know what was going on.
Starting point is 00:32:13 But he kept scratching his balls the entire damn time, Frendor, the entire time. And I kept seeing him at first, at first, I thought something worse was happening. I'll be honest, because he had a hand on the front of his pants most of the time. I see. And then
Starting point is 00:32:28 then he turns, and I see that it's less of a like, I don't know, stroke motion will say, and more of like a reaching and scratching motion. And I was like, has this man been scratching his balls the entire time? I've been out there behind him, I'm going to say
Starting point is 00:32:45 15, 20 minutes at this point. He's doing it the whole time? The whole time. I have to imagine it was a comfort thing. That's, even if it is a comfort thing. I was like, you know to scratch those things wrong, my man. You got to cut that out. And he was just in there getting at it. And, uh, but he, and again, I want to stress, imagine that same guy, but it, you know, instead of a speedo or a thong, he's wearing a tank top with, you know, the sleeves gone and everything. And like, jorts, is that the right, where is that what we're using jean shorts, jorts? Right, jorts works, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Tank top, jorts, but same guy, same guy that you would see on the beach in the thong. So is he scratching them over the jorts or inside the jorts? I'll be honest, I don't really know. When I finally saw him from the other side, it was over. Okay. I was going to say, if he's like in there, that's, then he's probably like, watching shit. That's why you gotta wash your hands. Yeah. It was a site. I almost put it out of my mind. It's about to be like nothing weird
Starting point is 00:33:57 happened this week. No, that happened. That occurred. That's and where where this happened at specifically? It was like just walking around on the street. So like if anyone has been over to where the YouTube LA space is, it was around there. Oh okay. So he's just like chilling on the the street. re doing this? We're just walking. Yeah. There's a lot of walking that people are doing in this area. And so I was out walking and usually I'll see like someone walking a dog or, you know, someone walk in a baby carriage or I'll see a pack of, because there's, near where I was
Starting point is 00:34:39 walking is near a university. So sometimes I'll see like little groups of university students going around walking. Or there's like a basketball court or something over there. You know, there's people just out. And I see people all the time. And this just was one of those people, except he was like, not fussed at all. If anyone saw him going to town on his junk.
Starting point is 00:35:05 That is. And now that's an L.A. Yeah, and I must stress again, nothing sexual was happening there. He was just avidly. scratching like he was in there he was itchy
Starting point is 00:35:22 or just something else who knows who knows but good point that's why that's why wash your hands
Starting point is 00:35:32 yep wash your hands but you know what else you should wash you should wash watch this ad nope
Starting point is 00:35:45 that's no It's terrible Hey look I've been doing a lot of traveling lately It's been really crazy Going back and forth And all over the place And then jumping straight back into work
Starting point is 00:35:59 My daily health routine Is in shambles It's so easy To let eating rights slip right by When things get hectic But thankfully factor is there Because it makes it ridiculously easy To get back to real food

Starting point is 00:36:50 I've mentioned before, I'll say it again. For some reason, the concept of fish by mail did not sit well with me. Until I tried their ginger terriaki salmon with the forbidden rice, it's delicious. I love that, unabashedly so. At first I was like, I don't know, now it's my favorite. I love that they have soups I can get,
Starting point is 00:37:11 they got pizzas, They get all sorts of things. Salads. You can even get protein shakes. You can also, if you want, get some extra halapeno cheddar sausages. There's all sorts of fun ways to eat well, save time. It's great. So let's eat real.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Head to factoramales.com slash Cox 50-O-F and use code Cox 50 off to get 50% off and one free breakfast item per box for one year. While supplies last until 10, 31, 26. That's code Cox 50 off. Factomales.com, Cox, 50 off at factormeals.com. See website for more details. All right, let's go to traffic. It's down there. Oh, man. Traffic is looking about what you'd expect, but we do see that if you look up into the sky, it appears that Jupiter is ascending. So watch out for that. Thank you. Yo, yikes. Yeah, that was, uh, I almost forgot we didn't talk.
Starting point is 00:38:12 about that so I had to bring it up. But yeah, we watched that for the Cox and Cronor movie night and that truly was one of the movies of all time. I just want people to watch it so that they, you know, much like a disease, I want to
Starting point is 00:38:28 spread it to everyone. I want everyone to have witnessed the fact that this movie's real and the fact that it is an insane film, an insane film. Honestly, the craziest part about it, I think, is it's just the pacing
Starting point is 00:38:44 like you're you're early on you're like watching a crazy like air fight where they're like shooting them and then he's like soaring around on his roller skate space skates or whatever and then he's like in a plane and they're like shooting stuff and it lasts way too
Starting point is 00:39:00 long and we're like what was even happening like there's no tension or anything it's just kind of something going on it's it's kind of like that the whole movie yep so That's definitely a movie you should watch if you want to watch...
Starting point is 00:39:18 Get friends together, uh, get drinks, order pizza, watch a terrible movie. You'll love it. Yeah. And that's the traffic. Okay, and what is our weather? Ooh! Hold on where my weather go. Wait, weather today, you should look at the huge Apple New York, England, the only New York that matters. Wait, huge apple New York, England? Pardon? Look at the huge apple, New York, England.
Starting point is 00:39:52 So, I guess New York in England? Maybe there's a huge apple there? There is a New York, a Hamlet in England. Let's see. I wouldn't call it huge. Hold on. They're saying like the big apple? Like New York's the big apple?
Starting point is 00:40:09 That must be what they're saying. This is the huge apple. Yeah. Yeah. This is New York in Hamlet, England. Let's see. It is currently 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Feels like 53.
Starting point is 00:40:29 Winds at 7 miles per hour, southwest. 89% humidity. Air quality 19. 2.51. Pressure 30.24 inches. Visibility 5 miles. UV index zero. 7.08 a.m. sunset 6.28 p.m.
Starting point is 00:40:48 And we've got ourselves a waning crescent moon. 10 day. We got Monday. Monday, partly cloudy, 72. Tuesday. 22% chance of rain clouds 69 degrees. Nice. Wednesday, light rain, 40, or no, 54. Thursday, 59, mostly sunny. Friday. Shower is 65. Saturday, partly cloudy, 60.
Starting point is 00:41:15 Sunday, few showers, 61, Monday, partly cloudy, 63. And Tuesday, mostly cloudy, 65. So pretty nice out. There's something incredible. All right. I'm just going to say, England, you're delightful. Everything about you always makes me just giggle. In New York, there is, first off, two roads.
Starting point is 00:41:37 That's it. That's all that's here. But more importantly, I was like, oh, wonder what restaurants there are. I didn't find any except I did find world car parts Lincolnshire wild bird seeds And if you go down the New York lecture hall Which is a whole thing And I was like okay there's got to be something nearby
Starting point is 00:41:54 So I kept going south And then I found the New York car boot Sunday market Which just looks like a field Where cars be selling stuff Which honestly yes Okay And then I kept going down
Starting point is 00:42:08 Because I was like well I got there's got to be something There's got to be something here I found palleted radiators which reminds me the British love to name things like that. And then I was like, okay, I'm going to scroll over. There's got to be something. There's got to be something. And then I discovered the nearest town to New York, England is Boston, England.
Starting point is 00:42:30 What? That's crazy. That's super crazy. What the hell? It's Boston, England. Are you telling me? All right. We've named our places after England.
Starting point is 00:42:47 I don't think so. That doesn't make a damn bit of sense. Yeah, there's no way that occurred. Also, shout to predator tackle, which is very strange. I don't, obviously it's fishing base, but calling it predator tackles. I don't know. That is tackling predators all over the place. But they also have, there's the Malcolm Arms, which appears to be one of the only food places around.
Starting point is 00:43:13 I'm not going to lie. The outside looks like an old tavern. The inside kind of slaps. That food looks pretty good. Oh. It's, you know, where do they... Where do they go to eat? It's like genuinely...
Starting point is 00:43:29 I mean, that's what I was trying to figure out. If there was grocery, I was like, where's the grocery stores? Yeah. Where would you go? But instead of a grocery store, there's the bubble car museum. Bubble car museum And it is in fact Bubble cars
Starting point is 00:43:48 Less of a museum and more of just what appears to be one person's house That's Yeah that makes sense If you go north a bit
Starting point is 00:43:58 You can't Like right outside of Conningsby To the east There's the Grafters Cafe And They got I see that
Starting point is 00:44:09 They got a lot of British breakfast There looks like Yeah, there's the Lee Gate Inn. They have, as far as I can tell, from these images, they have pies, bangers and mash, and goth girls doing karaoke. Yeah. That is.
Starting point is 00:44:29 England, you know, England. They got the all-day breakfast menu there. Small breakfast. They got one bacon, one sausage, one hash brown, one egg, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, and one toast. for four pounds 50. That's pretty good. That is pretty good.
Starting point is 00:44:49 Speaking of cheap food, George Lucas just opened his museum here in L.A. And the food they have there, there's a fancy restaurant that, like, you know, it takes a while to get into. But just the normal cafeteria inside a museum food, you know how most of the time you're in a museum and it's really expensive to eat there?
Starting point is 00:45:10 I don't know what, I think George Lucas, or his wife or someone was like, hey, there are going to be kids here on field trips. Let's make it affordable. And so you can get like a grilled cheese sandwich for two bucks. Yo, that's pretty good. That's pretty damn good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:27 Those are like real prices. So that's what I'm talking about when you mentioned that. I was like, yes, that's where it's at. Yeah. I mean, that does feel like the small town vibe where they're like, hey, you know what? I'm making just enough money to make this food and then pay myself. giving you a fair price,
Starting point is 00:45:44 which nowadays is extremely rare. Yeah. There are a lot of, there's pubs and there's a dominoes I see. This reminds me kind of when we went to that one Indian restaurant outside of Telford. Oh yeah, I remember that.
Starting point is 00:46:01 When we drove through that community, I was like, aside from this one Indian restaurant and what is clearly a takeaway that probably serves all the fried foods, what else is there in this town? And the same vibe here. Yeah, that was, it kind of, it makes you feel like you are in medieval England,
Starting point is 00:46:20 but like in a modern time, if that makes sense. Yeah, I mean, I just don't know, I don't know where they have a memorial for the Battle of Britain, there's a castle, there's all sorts of stuff, there's inns, and, you know, again, the car boot place, and I still haven't found a grocery store, Crendor. Maybe I found convenience stores I found little convenience store places But I found cake zillas
Starting point is 00:46:49 But I have not found a grocery store Yeah that is It is pretty crazy You would think they'd have even just like Some little mom and pop grocery stores I don't you know Okay This is how you know
Starting point is 00:47:05 We're too online And people will be buying insane stuff online I saw a thing for Pioneer Trading Company and I was like, oh, a health food store clicked it. I'm looking at this street view. I don't know which of these houses is a health food company. But it's clearly someone's work from home situation because it's just homes.
Starting point is 00:47:27 There's nothing here. Oh. I'm always kind of like, if someone's like, come to my company and it's just like a neighborhood and you got to go to their house, I'd be like, I don't know. I'd have to like trust them a lot Or they'd have to be like good reviews I don't know
Starting point is 00:47:47 It kind of feels weird to be honest There is I don't know what this is in the middle I don't know if these are manmade lakes Or what this is But if you go southwest of Conningsby There's Fishing Lake
Starting point is 00:48:05 Jet Ski Lake and Water Ski Lake I see that And then there's a bunch of like Lodges This has to be manmade Yeah There's a billion different lodges Fish and chips
Starting point is 00:48:21 And a convenience store This feels like a Oh, you're in the center of England Come stay at our thing Yeah And they all have not great reviews For the restaurants Like the catch
Starting point is 00:48:35 Established 22 or whatever That's got a 3.1 out of five that's not looking too good yeah I feel like a lot of this is booze based like bar 49 propeller bar that just looks like people will be drinking there absolutely
Starting point is 00:48:49 propeller bar looks like the best one and it's still it's kind of rough yeah this is a lot of I don't know how to say this nicely but it gives me Florida vibes yeah like a British Florida gives me
Starting point is 00:49:06 strong Florida vibes Yeah, I can see that. Um, well, that's the weather. Okay. What is our sports situation? What is our sports situation? Uh, we currently have lots of sports. Uh, and the NFL, we got the Panthers and the Lions tied at halftime.
Starting point is 00:49:34 Oh. 1616. And then, uh, oh yeah, this is the first. time in NFL history we've had all cat teams play each other because the Bengals and the Jaguars also played the day. Like playing against each other on the same day that is. That is somehow strangely very funny to me. Yep. Then we had the Colts beat the commanders. I believe that was in England actually. Patriots beat the bills. Bears beat the Jets. Jaguars beat the Bengals. The Giants beat the Cardinals. The Giants beat the Cardinals. The Rams beat the Eagles. The Packers beat the Buccaneers. The Ravens
Starting point is 00:50:07 beat the Titans, the Cowboys beat the Texans, the Vikings beat the Dolphins, the Chiefs beat the Raiders, the 49ers beat the Broncos, the Seahawks beat the Chargers, and the Browns beat the Steelers. Then we have playoff baseball.
Starting point is 00:50:25 Playoff! Playoffs! Where currently the White Sox are beating the Guardians in that series one to nothing. Yankees are down a game to the raise. The Padres are down two games to the Brewers. who won today. And the
Starting point is 00:50:39 Braves are currently up to one on the Dodgers in the fifth inning. And Dodgers currently up 1-0 in that series. And then in the NHL, we've started playing hockey. That matters. Oh,
Starting point is 00:50:55 we got the Bruins atop the East, or the Atlantic Division in the East, and then the Rangers atop the Metropolitan in the East as well. We got the Avalanche, the Wild, and the mammoth all at four points in the central, and then in the Pacific we got the Oilers,
Starting point is 00:51:12 the sharks, and the Canucks. But got a lot of hockey to go. So, and then NBA preseason started as well. The Miami Heat with the Janus one-third preseason game, but it's all preseason, so whatever. And that's sports. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:35 What is our fact of the day? Fact of the day. Fact of the day. Bam bam bam bam. Bam bam. Um, there is a sleeping disorder called exploding head syndrome. It makes a,
Starting point is 00:51:51 it makes a person hear sudden gunshot or explosion-like sounds in their sleep. It's generally not painful or dangerous, but it can be startling or frightening. Dude, there have been times where I've been laying in bed on the verge of sleep. Like, you know, in that one second before you just pass out. where I swear I've heard a noise.
Starting point is 00:52:10 And I'll be like, hello? And nothing. And to my own detriment, rather than go to look like a normal person, I go, eh, all right, and go back to bed. There could one day be someone just like in my home.
Starting point is 00:52:23 And I'd be like, I'll let them do their thing. I'm going to bed. I, I have, I've had that a few times, but usually it's not, it doesn't sound like someone's in the house or anything.
Starting point is 00:52:34 It just sounds like a, like a, like a, like a, you like, huh? And then you're like, oh, okay, and then you go back to sleep. And usually, yeah, it's when you're trying to fall asleep or like some, that's like a weird in-between. The whatever that thing is called, the twilight of sleeping. Yeah, yeah. But yeah, it's, it is definitely a thing. It is weird.
Starting point is 00:52:55 I don't know what causes it. But let's see, what cause... experts aren't sure what causes it. Some theories are sudden, unexpected, electricals, activity in the parts of your brain that process and create your senses. Uh, uh, damage. Uh, damage or issues in your inner ear. Tiny quick seizures in the temporal lobe.
Starting point is 00:53:23 Your brain mistakenly waking you up when it shouldn't. An aura that occurs before a migraine headache or stopping, uh, SSRIs or benzos. So pretty much they're just like, I don't know. It might be one of these, but we got no idea. That is really funny. You're like, okay, all right. I mean, I would hope you would have some idea. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:50 But there we go. That's your fact of the day. Okay, who has come to us with tears in their eyes? We've got tears. Here we go. Ah, da, da, da, da, da, da, da. Ooh. We got Dear Alustrius Sirs with tears in my eyes after reading the results of Fat Bear Week,
Starting point is 00:54:15 I come to ask you, or come to you to ask, where's the love for Hank the Tank? Well, I don't even know Fat Bear Week was happening. Yeah, what, hold on. I was unaware of that. Yeah. Let's see. Oh, if you type it into Google and Fat Bear appears. It's true. A giant, that bear's not fat. That bear is huggable and lovable.
Starting point is 00:54:37 Click the fish button. Where do you see the fish button? It's at the bottom. Dude, this guy's gotten 55 million fish today. It's a lot of fish. Dude, he keeps getting bigger. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:54:56 He is, dude, he's the size of my screen now. He's the size of my screen and now snowflakes are falling. I literally can't see Google. Dude, this is phenomenal. This is the best thing I've ever seen. edition. That's a great addition to Google. Now that, yeah, Google is out there stealing all our information, but this
Starting point is 00:55:17 makes it okay for now. Absolutely. Man. Oh yeah, let's see. Who won Fat Bear Week? We got after a week of healthy competition, the votes are counted. The results are in. Backpack has been crowned the champion. That's good.
Starting point is 00:55:35 Backpack's good, but it's not Hank the tank. Yeah, it's not Hank the tank. Why was backpack named? Let's see. Longstanding annual contest has public to vote which bear living in Alaska's caught my national park they think has done the best job of packing on the pounds for hibernation. This year backpack
Starting point is 00:55:58 who is known for his peace-loving demeanor and propensity to roam alone was the winner with more than 100,000 votes. Unlike many large adult bears, backpack hasn't shown much aggression towards his competitors. And he has his quiet strength. This is, apparently he's a fan favorite because a backpack is a bear that's been known by the public since he was just a cub.
Starting point is 00:56:30 His late mama bear, Holly, was a fat bear weak champion. And watching her baby who's known as a gentle giant carry on the family legacy makes the win even more. more special according to whoever the hell's in charge of this. So it's a family tradition for this guy. This is, what a crazy festival, honestly. Apparently, there's a viral image that went around a while ago. I'm trying to find it right now to see if I recognize it,
Starting point is 00:57:04 where there was a bear riding on another bear's back. That was backpack in his mom, Holly. Oh. And that's why they named him backpack because he was on her back. Wait. Hold on. But then here it says last year's winner, Chunk was dethroned by Bucky in the first round,
Starting point is 00:57:25 who turned out to be a worthy opponent after losing a face off against backpack, known officially as Bear 89. Bear 89. I'm sure that's just they don't act. They're like, eh, we don't have names. That's a, that's Barry. Oh, maybe they, That's just, yeah, they just tagged him as Bear 89.
Starting point is 00:57:43 That just sounds like a crazy sci-fi move. Like, where is Bear 89? He has escaped. But not his backpack. That he's fine. Oh, yeah. Here it is. This is a...
Starting point is 00:57:59 This is an Instagram post. Nope. What the hell? All right. Well, I hate... I tried to find the original thing. And instead, I found a post from... three days ago. That does
Starting point is 00:58:15 have the image. You can see it here. This is, oh, where did you go? Right here. Does that work? Let's see. Yes. They called him backpack because his mama
Starting point is 00:58:37 carry him around because he had an injured leg. There you go. People, it's... Hey, look at that. Yes, according to the internet, this is one of the takes. What an inspiring story. As a cub, he could not walk, so his mother carried him,
Starting point is 00:58:58 and that is how he earned the name Backpack. Today, he's the world's fattest bear. Never get a hundred dreams. Hell yeah, backpack. Go backpack. But still, shout out to Hank the Tank as well. Great guy. Right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:59:16 No one's been to Haint the Tank. Yeah. All right, here we go, and we've got... Da, da, da, da, da. Dear Lustrious sir, is I coming with tears in my eye and a mild malaise in my heart. What's something that you try and do to make sure you have a good day? I enjoy a good podcast while trying to keep my dogs from eating the sofa. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:59:38 So when you say good podcast, what do you mean? Is the question I'm asking. It clearly isn't this show. Yeah, definitely not. But what's something you try to do to make sure you have a good day? Boy, you know, it's going to sound crazy. But even if I take a shower the night before, I still need to take a shower in the morning. Interesting.
Starting point is 01:00:03 That is, for some reason, just the hot water sets me right. It doesn't have to be a long one, just jump in, get like, heat it up, and then I'll be, I'll have a good day. If I start the day and I don't have a shower, it affects me in a way that I can't express. I just, I just, it, it ruins everything for me. Damn. Needs a shower. Yeah. I like, I like, I like getting wet.
Starting point is 01:00:28 What can I say? Yep. I need, it's usually a few things. I usually try to do like a little bit of reading, a little bit of writing, and a little bit of miniature painting. And those are like my three staples of making sure I have like a, feel good day. Alright.
Starting point is 01:00:53 So nothing crazy. But if I get just get a little bit of reading, writing, and miniature painting in there, even if it's only like 10 minutes, it makes me feel good. Reading, writing, miniature painting. The Grand doorway. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:07 So those are my staples of sanity, I guess you can say. That's pretty cool. Which, by the way, I'm on, I'm almost to the final book on, what's it called? Game of Thrones. I'm halfway through the Feast for Crows or I'm like two-thirds of the way through that one.
Starting point is 01:01:26 But I don't know what I don't like about this book that I've realized. Oh, yes. It's that we're like four to have books in or I'm four to have books in here or whatever. And it just feels like the the Greyjoy family and the Dorn thing just feels kind of out of place. You know what? Do you get that feeling or do you not? get that. It, uh,
Starting point is 01:01:53 to me, it felt like it's a set up for future stuff. Like the, the whole, you know, gray joy situation, it, there's a lot of like,
Starting point is 01:02:05 wait, so what is this, what is this name? I don't want to say Harron. The, the one guy who comes back. Yeah, the guy who comes back,
Starting point is 01:02:15 uh, from, from like being at sea, who's like, I saw the gods of the ocean. Like that guy is like crazy. it feels like he's being set up for a role but not until later
Starting point is 01:02:27 which in the TV show they create one for him but in the books it just hasn't happened yet and so yeah you know like in Dorn you have this whole story of okay they're gonna try and get revenge there's this whole thing going on
Starting point is 01:02:44 we have the sand stakes you all this stuff in the show they just were like well we included them up until the point that they needed to be in the story, and now we don't know what to do with them, so we're just going to write them off. Yeah. And that's, and unfortunately, that's kind of, it's very clear he is setting things up, but for what purpose, for what? No clue, man. No clue.
Starting point is 01:03:08 Well, I mean, honestly, at this point, I don't even think he has a clue because he's struggling to write this book. So, yeah, it's like, sometimes I'll start reading it, whatever, and I find myself just being like, When's this chapter over? Or like, oh, Brianne chapter's up next. I want to get to that. Or like, oh, the Jamie chapter's coming up. I want to get to the Jamie chapter. And it's just like, it's like more established characters.
Starting point is 01:03:32 And it's just like, I feel like he would have finished this next book by now if he would have just stuck with that plot line and not branched out far into these other areas. So it almost feels like he went a little too crazy with characters and adding too much. I think most people would agree with you there The last book Well actually the The book that was supposed to be last book That he split into two books
Starting point is 01:03:58 Was divisive for that reason Like you know There's too many characters Yeah And one book was like Well we're only gonna include some of those characters Yeah And if you have a favorite
Starting point is 01:04:10 And they're not in this damn book Well tough And yeah that upset people I even noticed at the end Because I was checking the end of the book To see his little notes And he's just like Some of you are probably wondering
Starting point is 01:04:20 Where's Tier Where's John Snow? Where's that? I'm like, yeah, I am wondering that. Where are they? So yeah, it's definitely an interesting choice. I also, when I went to check on the Reddit, so I was like, I'm going to see if other people see this on, or say stuff like this on Reddit.
Starting point is 01:04:37 There was a spoiler. Well, they have, spoiler as extended, Erie Rare George R. Martin, 2000 interview on Writers Going to Hell. And it's like a 45-minute interview of him in the year 2000, and talking about, like, writers going to hell, and he's like every writer goes to hell. But he had this one quote where he says, on the other hand,
Starting point is 01:04:58 the writers who have depended more on the creative part, perhaps, who haven't been quite so analytical, what tends to happen to some of them is they just fall silent. Suddenly, someone that's been very prolific writer, or been a very prolific writer, stops writing, and you don't see any new books from them. So it's kind of weird that he was saying that,
Starting point is 01:05:18 like 25 years ago and now that's like happened to him. Yikes. Yeah, it's unfortunate because I would love an ending to that damn story. I probably like you think it's not happening. Yeah, I don't think so. And even if there's, I would say there's a chance he releases the next book maybe,
Starting point is 01:05:40 but the one after that's not happening. Like this is it. Right, right. It's winds of winter and then that's, I don't think anything's happening after that. even if we do get this one, but we'll see. But that's your dear illustrious sirs. Okay, what is our big new story of the day?
Starting point is 01:05:58 Big new story of the day, day, day. Day. Georgia man. Georgia man called 911 to dodge $63.77 cents red lobster bill. My man. Okay, all right. After 26-year-old Abdul Hakim Rashid finished dining at Red Lobster on Highway 5 in Douglasville, Georgia.
Starting point is 01:06:27 On September 24th, he ended up in the back of a patrol car. According to the Douglasville police, he told restaurant staff he was in distress and called 911 himself. However, when they responded, they found nothing wrong with him. The official report of his arrest obtained and reviewed by people, said he conducted himself unlawfully during his 911 call quote, by deception and with
Starting point is 01:06:52 intent to avoid payment. What does that mean? Is he just like, I can't pay my bill, my heart attack? Is that what he's doing? I've seen a bunch of videos like this online where people will record themselves calling the cops to be like, oh, they didn't treat me right
Starting point is 01:07:14 or they did, you know, thinking the law will be on their side as they try to just dine and dash. Yeah. I think that's kind of the vibe here where I don't know that he recorded himself doing it, but he tried to be like, well, if I get the police involved and I can convince them
Starting point is 01:07:30 that I'm in the right, then I won't have to pay, which is a whole logic leap beyond where we need to be in this moment. Yeah. Let's see. They concluded that the emergency was all a ruse to avoid paying the tab. They handcuffed him, drove him to the county jail,
Starting point is 01:07:48 and he was charged with theft of services, an unlawful 911 call. He is now freed on his bond of $4,500. So in order to save $60, he had to pay $4,500. The county, where a 911 call can cost $100. Even if his plan had worked, Rashid had chosen an unforgiving place to fake a crisis. According to an earlier report on June 1st.
Starting point is 01:08:14 Red Lobster, the most unforgiving. place. Douglas County started charging a hundred dollar fees when someone is treated by a fire EMS crew but refuses to be taken to the hospital. There is an exception, however, for patients who fall and need help up, people who are enrolled
Starting point is 01:08:30 in the mobile health program, and anyone referred to by telehealth provider. That's crazy. The idea is because when you get picked up by an ambulance or whatever, they do charge you for that. Yeah. And it's a lot. And so I guess people are like, I am hurt,
Starting point is 01:08:46 but I don't want to pay that damn ambulance fee or whatever. So like, leave me here. And so in response, instead of being like, man, our fees are really high. Maybe we should just say about it. They were like, no, no, no. We got the government of the town to be like, if you don't accept the service, we charge you $100. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:09:04 That is pretty crazy. The county says the charge is put in place to ensure that ambulances are strictly called during real emergencies as its EMS department responded about 5,600 calls last year. where patients received care but refused trips to the hospital. They made up about 33% of the total calls. Quote, people call a lot for non-emergency needs, said Stacey Farmer, Deputy Chief of EMS Operations, a point of access to get into the health care system.
Starting point is 01:09:33 Routine runs, Allen and Farmers say, drain supplies and pull staff off the road and takes away from real emergencies. What to do when you can't pay your tab? they suggest a blind panic and desperation as the arrest stated that he contacted emergency services after realizing he couldn't pay the points
Starting point is 01:09:54 this points to a possible last minute scheme to avoid we already read that if you ever find yourself unable to pay for a meal there are less nuclear options available than bolting out the door faking a health crisis turn to the manager explain your situation and ask how they would like to handle it
Starting point is 01:10:11 restaurant owners calling police is a move they'd rather avoid and contrary to popular belief the owners won't or shouldn't force you to do dirty dishes or clear your tab either that okay but then what
Starting point is 01:10:26 so when you say what are you supposed to do how do we deal with this? Yeah then what is the option what are they going to be like if you can't that's so I don't understand try arranging with the manager to pay what you can now and settle the balance at a later agreed date
Starting point is 01:10:41 leave your name number and an idea. That shit ain't that. You'll leave your shit. They're not going to respond to that. Recheck the bill. Okay, they're just saying whatever. So there we go. That's,
Starting point is 01:10:57 don't fake your health crisis and Red Lobster to avoid paying your bill. Hey, all, don't fake your health crisis. Yeah. And that's the big news story of the day. All right. Well, that's it for us. Thanks much for listening and watching.
