Today, we're reading a story called the Sear of Possibilities, which currently at the time of recording.
Isaiah.
On creepypasta.com is sitting at a solid, and I mean rock solid, house made of bricks, 9.08 out of 10.
It's pretty good.
Pretty good.
From almost 9,000 votes.
Okay.
Just real quick.
not to kill your vibe or anything.
Don't look up a bad story with a high rating.
Don't look up a bad story with high rating.
Don't look at a bad story with high rating.
Don't look at a bad story with a high rating.
Don't look at a bad story about hiring.
I just want to say that unrelated Jeff the killer
is 8.7.
So it's a point seven?
It's actually 8.69.
It's 8. Oh, I think it was just a 0.7.
No, no, no, no.
No. Point being sometimes.
Well, then we can at least hope that this is going to be a little better
it's certainly remembered. 9.08, it's certainly remembered. Actually, my mind says it's a 9.41. 9.41's not bad either.
It's not bad. It's not bad. Well, hopefully, hopefully the Sierra possibilities can live up to the hype.
It'll be remembered. The legend that is Jeff the killer. It also claims a 14 minute read or 19 minute read time.
So I never trust their. I never trust. That's a good hour and a half. Yeah. We don't read all the way through.
So just know that if you don't like the tangents,
there are plenty of people who probably have read this story
that don't stop in Gibgab.
That being said, whoa!
Have you considered signing up for the Patreon?
You want more content?
You want more of this?
Feel free.
It's right there for you.
We'll put a little link in the description.
Feel free to support the channel at patreon.com slash creepcast.
Or if you're listening to this on Spotify, Apple Podcast,
considering giving us a nice little rating there,
it does help us out.
Isaiah, are you ready to dive in?
No, nothing about happy I'm here or...
You've been there enough.
The pleasantries are...
I mean, we're always here.
We just recording separate rooms of the house.
Oh, yeah, I forgot.
I live right there.
Yeah, yeah.
You're on the second floor.
I'm on the first floor.
Yeah.
Right, right.
And we don't come record here sometimes because it's like there's a staircase.
Yeah, I don't want to have to walk up it.
I did get picked up from the airport this time.
I did.
You're welcome.
Hunter did not pick me up.
Thank you. Harry.
Harry picked me out.
I just want to let it be,
just want a little bit let it be known
that made sure to make a concerted effort
to get you picked up.
I just had a little work I had to do beforehand.
Mm-hmm.
But you got picked up.
And also coincidentally enough.
So you're taking credit for Harry coming to pick me up.
Slightly.
Slightly.
And I will,
but I will say it is raining again.
And guess who didn't have to walk up the driveway in the rain again?
That's good point.
Thank you, Harry,
that I didn't have to walk up.
I'm going to take just while it's flight in the air to hear, I was just going to snag a little bit off of it.
I'm going to throw it this way so you can't grab that. No. There it is. I don't think. No. No, no. I'm going to take a little bit of it. Have you ever heard of this story, by the way?
No, I haven't. I think I've only heard of it because we have looked at the top rated stories before on creepypasta.com and this is one of them. It's written by Thomas O. Wagner, which I'm pretty sure will leave the link in the description.
description. I'm pretty sure he has like a horror anthology book on Amazon. However, we need to fact
check that because there's like a dozen Thomas Wagner. A lot of Thomas Wagner. A lot of Thomas
Wagner's. So if he isn't the one who has the story, then he at least shares the name with the person
who does. Which is still pretty cool. But this story was published in January of 2015. So, you know,
older story hints. I feel like now, which has been revitalized a little bit, but I feel like now,
creepypasta.com certainly isn't like the place people go for stories like it used to be.
So this was back website popping, you know, much more competitive for some of the stories that are in.
And like we talked about before, there's certainly some stinkers that got a high rating for the meme value of it.
But there was, we've certainly read some good stories that have come out of the website.
Of course, 1999.
Yeah.
All kinds of good stuff.
I mean, even recently, Sandman, I didn't think Sandman was too terrible.
I was like, I was kind of down here with it, but then that ending.
Yeah, no, it raised it up.
I thought, certainly, it's no bedtime.
But, no bedtime, but pretty good still.
Yeah, no bedtime.
Yeah.
The thing with, I was going to say the last time that you were here, which is just, this is just a thing of, I wonder if there's going to be any repetition at all because we didn't know.
but I wonder if this is also going to have because last time we were in person recording together
there was a story with a fish rape so maybe that will happen here in the sear of possibilities that is
that is in the seer of possibilities i i would have to say if a story titled the seer of possibilities
contains fish rape that's certainly in the seer of possibilities i'll be surprised to say the least
i'll be surprised but it was a possibility i guess it
Anything is a possibility.
That's what makes this story so powerful so far.
Is that anything can happen?
Is there any bear traps you'd like to lay beforehand?
It's going to be like probably some like mystic, like father time kind of figure, if I had a guess.
What does seer mean?
Someone who sees things.
So it's just a, so is it like a profit?
Typically, yeah.
The profit of possibilities.
Or like a medium or something.
They see another realm or something like that.
profit of possibilities.
I'd see another realm.
Hmm.
Yeah, I'm thinking of a scribe.
That's what I'm thinking of. It's a person that writes down shit.
Have you ever done the
the Wu-Tang name generator?
I haven't. It's totally a different direction.
So there's like rappers and stuff who have gotten their name
from the Wu-Tang name generator.
You like enter your full name and it gives you like what your
Wu-Tang clan member name would be.
And mine was Iron Prophet.
and I love iron profit
and that goes so hard and I need to use that for something
at some point in the future
mine is called expert warrior
X
your full name makes expert warrior
yes and I think that that's not bad expert warrior
and I do think that it feels genuine
to my character
would you consider yourself a warrior
that was mean I laughed through that question
that was a little rude
I know that you're laughing because I'm so lovable and I'm cuddly.
Right.
And I, the idea of me getting in a fight is so charming.
I really can't imagine a scenario where you like physically fight someone because you're so kind.
I can't see you escalating a conflict to that level.
No, I'm so lovable.
What would it take for you?
I'd rather kiss somebody.
Right.
I would subdue a conflict with a kiss before I did physical altercation.
would probably start another kind of conflict.
Well,
in the scenario.
What would have to happen for you to, like, punch someone?
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
Even in self-defense,
even if somebody was wronging somebody I loved,
it'd be subdued with a kiss.
Okay.
That's what they call me.
So if we go,
if we leave here,
we go to a Buffalo Wild Wings.
Oh,
I'm already kissing somebody.
If I'm going to Buffalo Wild Wings,
someone's getting kissed.
Yeah, well, that's understood.
But if I get mugged in the parking lot,
you're going to kiss that guy?
Well, first I'm laughing.
Okay.
if you if I watch you actually get mugged in the parking lot of buffalo wild wings I'd be like
guy is it December 25th because it feels like fucking Christmas right now that'd be unfathable
watching you laid blacked out in a Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot holy shit I kiss the
motherfucker hit you thank you for that I say um I will say that would be I kiss you awake
that if I get knocked out I wake up my stuff's gone and you're kissing me
I see it.
It's a self-defense situation for me now.
I'm dodger.
Every time you try,
you try,
you try,
I block it.
It diverts the punch.
Oh,
I'm getting mad thinking about it.
I will say,
if you ever see me get mugged,
leave me there.
Don't even just proceed forward.
Let me get up,
dust myself off,
and come in.
Every scenario we discuss,
your ultimatum is always
just let me die.
There really is no point.
of letting me live at that point.
I will say any situation,
and this is,
you could name any situation,
any situation is easily fixed
with a 10-piece count
of parmesan garlic wings,
boneless wings of Buffalo Wild Wings.
I'll say it.
There isn't a lot that can't be,
you know,
solve with that.
You know,
maybe like, you know,
Nazi Germany,
Hitler rising to power,
maybe if someone slid him the 10-piece.
Well, we're getting a little more philosophical.
No,
no,
I think someone,
if someone slid him a 10th,
10 piece at just the right time.
Like right after he gets kicked out of art school right before he becomes a politician,
I think that could have saved a lot of lives.
I would only hope.
Yeah.
The seer of possibilities.
I think that your call is pretty correct, though.
I like the idea of it being, is it a fortune teller?
Well, a seer can be like a fortune teller.
I mean, it's a generalized word for just like someone who sees beyond.
So it can be time.
A seer is a person who claims or is believed to have the ability to see it or predict future
events through visions, prophecy, or
supernatural. So if I can,
Notre Dameus,
that's a Seer.
Like an oracle. Yeah,
like an oracle, yeah. I mean,
Nostradamus made a bunch of predictions, but
if you were to say that, like, Nostradamus
was, like, correct,
like he actually did have
supernatural info, then, yeah. I'm being kind of
turn. Actually, I don't know if I like the title now.
Why do you suddenly not
like it? Well, no shit. Well, let me look
in the future. There's possibilities.
Uh, duh. You know.
I guess every.
one in a way is a seer of possibilities.
It's just, just about, what would be a thing?
Could you elevate it by saying the unfortunate seer?
You look at him.
He's doing this. Oh, no.
That's what I want to see. The seer, I want to see him.
He's doing this.
Oh. Oh, no.
Well, if you,
if you have the ability to see the future, but you can't change it, that would be,
I mean, that'd be a really sucky ability.
That's why he was...
Oh, oh, boy.
Oh, cheese and crackers.
Oh, boy.
Oh, gee.
Oh, my God.
That 401K, buddy, I wouldn't worry about it.
Don't put any more money into it.
Yeah, no.
All right.
Let's actually start reading.
All right.
The Sear of Possibilities by Thomas O.
Authored to be determined.
Sometimes otherworldly beings find interesting ways to try and contact you.
They might capitalize on your,
use of a Ouija board, or maybe come to you in a dream, or sometimes they speak through another
person. They each have their own style and preference that's particular to them. The one who contacted
Jack spoke to him through his computer, or more accurately, via on-screen text. The first time it happened,
Jack was seated at his PC, playing solitaire. Blinking red light from the router indicated
that his internet connection was down again.
This was a near weekly occurrence,
and Jack simply made note of it
and returned his attention to his game.
That was until the screen abruptly went black.
A moment later, red text appeared.
Hi, Jack.
There's another sentence.
I think we have two different versions.
Mine's a little different here.
I'm on creepypast.com.
I went to creepypastasorries.com.
That would explain the difference in the thing.
Stand by.
That would explain while I was 9.4, 9.4, you know, so.
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Awkward.
All right, now I'm on, see your possibility.
Let me.
Red text appeared.
Okay.
Now, what was the difference between whatever?
There's a lot.
Go ahead.
This was the last,
what was this one?
This was at least a weekly occurrence,
and Jack was getting used to the spot.
internet service. As he moved his cards, the game faded into a solid black screen and the
red text appeared. It's a little different. It is quite different. There was a lot. I don't know how
they got, is it? This is like a translated text. It looks like they're uploaded the same day.
They're both uploaded. Thomas? I have no idea. People like more. Um, all right, well, we'll go with
the creepypasta.com version then, so go ahead and do the quote. Hi, Jack. I need a favor from you.
You're a very special person and I know you'll help me. I can.
can't ask this of just anyone, I really need your help.
You know, we talked about before, but these old creepyposs authors did not mess around.
Like the moment they're typing, it's like the monster is here.
It's going to get...
There really is very little setup.
It's just kind of like, by the way, he's here.
Yeah.
I think of the Sandman where it's like, I have a kid and I live in this house.
Anyway, there's a naked man on the child's bed, like straight away.
But I mean, at the time, it was like the attention economy, you know?
It's got to be worse now.
Well, I'm sure it's worse now, but now I think there's an understanding that there's, at least with the successful ones we've seen, there's like an elevated threshold for the story itself.
So people will take the time if a story uses it well to kind of lead into it better.
Whereas back then it's like, monster, attack, you're in danger.
Well, what I'm wondering is, was this kind of storytelling was it a cheaper, quicker way to get a thrill?
of being like you want to get in get out and people like oh that was a quick and creepy pasta
so there was something that was quick versus now i think people want legitimate full yeah on stories
i think so or how they have more like people yearn for a longer yeah like a more a feastable thing
i think so i mean the ones we've covered that we're the biggest fan of is the longer ones
yeah yeah yeah yeah i would say so jack paused for a second router light was still blinking red
is this some sort of joke he couldn't help but wonder
So
Maybe this is weird
All right
Several moments later
The message continued
Yes Jack
I know this is weird for you
But I don't want you to worry
This is just a small
Easy favor I need
I'll make sure you're rewarded
So this 100% sounds like prostitution
Does it not
Yeah
Show hole jack
I don't want to
Gap hole check
Okay
There you go with it
You go somewhere and I'm like, yeah, it's fine.
We can set here.
You're like, well, if we go over here even more, if we keep going over here.
Gap is a very unfortunate word.
That's a rough word to throw in.
It is a gape hole.
Now nearly in a panic, Jack reached around and pulled the internet cable completely from the wall.
Still here, Jack.
I don't want to waste any more of your time, so I'll get right to what I need.
Tomorrow, when you go to work, I need you to move the large potted plants that's next to the elevator on the ground floor.
All you have to do is,
was pull it out three inches from the wall.
And if you do it at 8.17 a.m.,
nobody else will be in the area.
Jack sat there, refusing to respond.
Still trying to figure out what was happening.
The writing continued.
Look, Jack, I'm asking you because I know you'll do it.
You won't let me down.
You're special.
We'll talk tomorrow.
Jack pulled the power cord from the wall
and the computer went blank.
Did that really just happen?
Still, by the, if I got these messages,
I would 100% assume it was a terrorist.
or something.
Yeah, I was just to say a scammer at first.
My immediate thing is like this is the,
this is like the Indian guy that's calling like the old woman.
He's like, you have to go to Best Buy and get Google Play gift cards,
whatever and doing that kind of scam.
Yeah, I mean,
the pot of plant thing, I'd be like,
the pot of plant thing, that's kind of the equivalent of like,
hey, go here and leave this package somewhere.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, it seems like almost like a vaudeville fucking Buster Keaton,
Charlie Chaplin joke.
Move the, move the pot of plant out.
at this time and then someone's going to trip over it and we're all going to laugh really hard.
If I had to guess what it is, this person's like a psychic and they're like,
oh, that plant is going to cause like an outlet to short or something.
There will be a fire or something like that.
Yeah.
Probably.
But I would assume this was.
What if there's a leak in the ceiling and the water going down feeds the plant?
That would also be a very lame power.
It's like you can see the future, but just for like really minor things.
Business flow is going to die.
But if you move it here,
The custodians don't have to water anymore
That kind of thing
You have to
Those custodians
They're overworked anyway
Jack
You have to Jack
Think of the custodians
still shaking from the experience
He took a warm shower
And got ready for bed
Convincing himself
That he'd either had some crazy dream
That this was just some elaborate joke
But who would play that kind of joke on him
Didn't really have friends
Or enemies
God fuck you Jack
God, fuck, Jay.
I don't really have friends.
I don't really have friends, but not like you mention it.
I don't really have any enemies either.
No one really talks to me that much.
Yeah, what if it turns out the Jack's a ghost?
I've had such a crazy pull.
You never know.
He's like, well, I've never really had friends, but I don't have enemies.
No one really knows I exist.
Right?
It's a left, right game ending, and like he's the seer talking to him in the past.
A future version of himself comes up.
It's like an angel or whatever the fuck happens.
He woke up the next morning.
and feeling refreshed. Work would start at 8.30 a.m., and Jack was never late.
Pulled into the parking lot at 8.10 a.m. Normally, he'd just go right in, but the message
told him to move the plant at 817. Was he really going to do it? Over night, Jack's fear
turned into curiosity. Let's say he moved the plant. He wouldn't be doing anything wrong or
illegal, right? In Jack's mind, the most reasonable course of action was to move the plant.
He'd do it, nothing would happen, and he'd be able to put this whole crazy matter behind him.
One minute before 817, Jack left his car and walked towards the building.
He entered the foyer at the exact time he was supposed to. The message was right. Nobody else was
around. Odd, Jack thought. The building was normally busy this time of morning,
but this temporary lull had been accurately predicted.
Fine, let's see what happens. He walked up to the large potted plant, placed
firmly between the two elevators in the lobby of the 10-story building.
The plant looked like it was fake,
decoration people passed every day without really noticing.
It was heavier than Jack realized.
He put some might into his effort and pulled the plant out three inches to his best estimate.
He stood back and looked at the plant and looked around the lobby.
People were coming in behind him now and the lobby was starting to fill up again.
Nobody seemed to notice the plant was in a slightly different location.
Nothing seemed different at all.
Jack skipped the next elevator and waited.
Waited for something.
But nothing happened.
Finally, Jack entered the elevator
and made it to a seventh floor cubicle on time like always.
If you ever asked Jack's co-workers to describe him,
you'd hear words like polite, quiet,
respectful, and competent.
And while those words were all accurate,
they gave little indication of the truth.
The truth that Jack,
really didn't like most people.
That's not to say he disliked them,
just that he had very little interest
in getting to know them or being their friend,
say for one.
Ali,
girl who sat two cubicles down from him,
was the only person you wanted to know more about
with her big smile,
blonde hair,
and pure...
Jack might be a little bit of a creep.
That's the exact.
I like how bigger teeth are.
She has nice hair and she's a great ass.
You've got your head all the way up it.
He,
the description of like he doesn't talk to anyone,
doesn't have friends or enemies.
But it's like,
but there's this curl.
A couple cubicles now.
It makes it sound like a creep.
Yeah.
100%.
Yeah.
I mean,
I'd say that he's quiet,
but I'd like to get to know her.
Also,
I like how one of the attributes was he's competent.
Mm-hmm.
He sounds like a fucking, like a robot.
Sounds like a psychopath.
This definitely is a man who does not.
talk a lot and you can tell that she definitely Alice or Allie.
Allie is looking over. She's like just doing some work and she'll be like and look over to her left and Jack's just like he's this is this is Jack looking from a cubicle.
Yeah, every once in a while just.
Have you seen the plant today?
Yeah.
They just not as I moves the plant three three inches.
It's kind of cool.
She's hitting the HR button.
Yeah.
That's awesome, Jack.
Yeah, pressing the red button under her desk.
That's so cool what you're done.
Everyone has a jack button in the off of this one.
He's coming closer. He's coming closer.

Do you feel like nicotine is getting in the way of your pump?
Do you catch your heart racing out of nowhere or having a recovery time after the gym?
A lot of people use nicotine as a pre-workout.
thinking that it will make your trips to the gym better.
The reality is the complete opposite.
Nicotine is actually detrimental to your workouts because it's a vaska constrictor.
It narrows your blood vessels and restricts oxygen.

All right, bye, back to the episode.
All right.
With her big smile, blonde hair, and beautiful figure,
Jack was very interested in learning all about her.
I don't like that.
Despite his lack of success with women in the past,
he was actually doing a fair job getting to know her.
I mean, this is, just not just keep derailing,
but this is, are we getting like to in-sell territories?
Despite his lack of success of women in the past,
he was actually doing a fair job of getting to know her.
How?
Well, it says in the next sentence,
he would just pass her cubicle.
Oh, let's see.
Let's just read.
Every morning as he passed her cubicle,
he'd stop for a chat.
The chats were one minute at first,
then two minutes,
then several minutes.
Jack was surprised that she actually seemed to like him.
This is the biggest.
Sure.
She's afraid of that.
She's afraid of that, man.
Hey, Jack.
Huh, pretty crazy weather will have it.
Oh, God.
I couldn't help but notice that you brought in a tuna sandwich for lunch.
I like those two.
Uh-huh.
I try to get work to work.
Crazy weekend this one.
You're like,
oven up all not potting.
What I hate, though, is he's just like, wow, 60 seconds this time.
That's kind of crazy.
And then next time he's just like, okay, two minutes.
Yeah, when's the last time you've had like a short chit-chat with someone and then remembered the time?
That was a three and a half minute right there.
Wow.
Also 100% get up to go to like go to the water cooler.
Goes around.
She's fucking peek around the corner.
There's Jack.
Oh, hydration buddies.
Oh, God.
Hydration buddies.
Oh, boy.
Yeah, I don't even think the story.
because just from, I mean, we've read so many of them,
just from the way these old stories were written,
I feel like it's certainly trying to set dress.
My laptop just shut down.
Thank you, Nick, for the dying laptop.
Don't worry, pulling out the spare bag over here.
From the,
I could have just started with the book.
It doesn't matter.
From the way these old stories are rent,
they're certainly just trying to set dress.
Sure.
But every vibe they're going with so far just screams mass shooter in cell territory.
I think Thomas O, are we trying to insinuate that he is maybe a little like Jack?
No, no, I don't think so.
I think that Thomas O might be a little like Jack.
You can slander an author like that if you want.
I'm just slander.
I don't know who does Jack character is yet?
Well, I'm assuming.
You just described a kind of guy who, like, is trying to, like, weirdly interact with women.
And then I said was a school shooter type.
Well, I didn't take a school shooter.
And you're like, oh, yeah, like the author.
I'd say that qualifies for one.
But my point is, I think that he's just trying to set dress.
But the way he's trying to give the story of creepy connotation with it comes off as this guy is scary.
Which if that's what he's trying to do, excellent job.
Okay.
Well, I just want to say that the first images, when I type in Thomas O to Google Images, you know, see the first image I see?
No.
Don't do this.
This is bad.
No, this is literally the first image I see in Thomas O.
Okay.
One of the Aristocats.
That's interesting.
That's the first image.
And for the rest of it, I'm going to assume he looks like that.
That he's also charming and whimsical.
Well, I do like the idea of a cat, a talking cat, who doesn't have a lot of friends.
But also, the other one was a Chinese guy.
So I don't want to show that.
I mean, it could be him.
Wagner doesn't sound like a.
Chinese last name, but who knows?
Harry, can we get a fact check on that?
All right, go ahead.
On this particular morning,
their daily conversation lasted only a couple of minutes.
Fuck.
You don't check up back of that.
What did I do wrong?
As they exchanged their morning greetings
and talked about Ali's wild night out,
Jesus.
The elevator,
the elevator doors open up behind them.
out hobbled James Bentley, the boss of both Jack and Alley.
James's loud complaining could be heard throughout the office.
Damn, my damn foot!
What happened, James?
Came the mumbled queries.
It's that damn plant that they have in the lobby.
I ran right into it and twisted my ankle.
James, you can barely walk.
You need to go to the hospital.
Came Allie's concern reply.
Can't do it now.
I have meetings all day.
Too important to cancel.
I'll just have to tough it out.
Fuck!
A little...
A little improv there.
Reader, a little improv there.
Gosh, it is a tornado outside.
My gosh.
When it wanes, it pulls.
Okay, all right.
Did he, was he walking through the lobby, like sprinting?
Because he had to kick that plan so hard.
That or, I'm guessing, like, maybe it's a thing.
You're in, you're just in your groove.
You're always walking to work with your phone in your face, whatever.
And then, no.
I don't know.
Jack, feeling stunned, left Allie's cubicle mid-conversation and sunk down into his chair.
It was his fault, he was sure of it.
How could he have been so stupid, careless?
Still, no use in worrying about it now.
Twisted ankle would heal.
Everything would be all right.
Upon his return home, Jack went immediately to his computer and turned it on.
As soon as the computer booted up, the screen went black and a new message popped up.
How was your day, Jack?
He sat there, staring at the screen, not knowing how to answer.
The message on the screen continued.
Actually, I know how your day was, but never let it be said that I'm not polite.
You're wondering what's going on.
You want to know why James Bentley had to twist his ankle.
Well, Jack, this chain of events isn't done playing out.
I don't want to tell you too much too soon.
But this will all make sense to you in short order.
Just go to work tomorrow like you normally do.
don't worry about a thing Jack
you'll be rewarded
your special
talk to you tomorrow
bear bear trap
what's your bear trap
my bear trap is
jack is 100%
looking at his reflection
in the computer
and he's talking to himself
I wouldn't be surprised
if this is like a future version
of him trying to align things
because maybe this
where they've name dropped
Ali and talked about her
probably results with his future version
somehow his future subconscious guy
is into this computer goes back of the past
try to course correct.
Yeah.
And I'm,
this is,
I don't feel good about this.
So what I say here,
just know that it's not,
I'm not happy.
How do we know it's not future Jack
trying to get past Jacks and pussy with Allie?
That's what I think is happening.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's trying to set some stuff up.
He's trying to like,
if you can make love to Allie,
you won't be made of binary code anymore, Jack,
or something.
So you lost me a little bit on that one.
Like this future version of himself,
his consciousness is in this computer.
he's talking. Oh, I see. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So he's not that Jack in the real world is binary code.
No, no, no. Yeah, yeah, okay. But his future version is somehow. Yeah, it's like his own,
because it doesn't use the internet or anything like that. So it's kind of like him in the future,
giving himself advice in the past sort of thing. Yeah, yeah. Jack sat back in his chair.
What was going on? Who is this sending him messages?
Jack's curiosity was fully engaged and he was almost a bit excited to see what would happen next.
I mean, God, does it not just seem like a boner?
The description there, Jack's curiosity was fully engaged.
Who the fuck says that?
And he was almost a bit excited to see what would happen next.
No, I didn't get that at all.
Do you think he says that when he gets hard?
Fully engaged.
No, my curiosity is.
Allie, you'd be happy to know that my curiosity is fully engaged.
God.
See, does that now, what about that?
Sure, man.
I mean, editor cut that, but still.
The things you decide to cut,
do not cut that.
Someone needs to bear witness to what I put up with.
You are bearing witness.
Harry's here.
I bear,
pig fan will see it, maybe.
He's bearing witness, bear tramp.
Okay.
The next morning at work started off as any ordinary day.
Jack noticed that the plan had been pushed back fully against the wall,
probably by the night cleaning crew.
James Bentley showed up shortly after lunch,
hobbling into the office on his one good foot.
This man, this foot is fucking killing me.
Again, a little liberation there with the story.
Jack could overhear him say, but apparently James still had a meeting he didn't want to miss.
It wasn't until around 3 o'clock that Jack saw him again.
James, who always seemed to prefer Allie over others, came limping up to her cubicle.
Allie, you're not doing anything right now, are you?
Um, no.
Nothing that can't wait until tomorrow, I guess.
Good.
Could you please drive me?
to see my doctor. I probably should have gone yesterday, but I just couldn't get away. This pain is just
killing me right now, and I don't think I can drive myself. I barely made it here this morning,
and I don't think I can even push the gas pedal right now. We could take my car if you want.
Yeah, that's fine, James. I don't have a problem taking you. Turn into Jack. She said her goodbye.
See you tomorrow, Jackie. Well, she gave him a nickname, see. She does like me.
She put on her coat and slowly followed James as he struggled down the hallway.
She gave a half turn and a shrug in Jack's direction with a little smile as she walked away.
Jack felt even lonelier than normal when she was gone.
I'm like, I just, did you just picture like that musical singing in the movie?
It's like, mm-hmm.
She walks away, camera focuses on him.
I'm imagining him very much as, did you watch Begoni?
Yeah.
Jesse Plyman's character in that.
You imagine being that kind of guy?
Yeah, yeah.
All right, so Allie is working for a secret government
that's going to destroy humanity.
Yeah, well, maybe not that detail.
She's my lover, but at the same time,
she's going to kill humanity.
It'd be a crazy twist.
It was 10 minutes later that they all heard the crash.
Oh.
Oh.
It was preceded by the loud horn of an 18 words.
there it is
waiting for that
yeah that's it
all right
I knew I'm just like
it's gonna put the foot on the gas
literally at some point
it was now that you move the office plant
James is dead
I love it it was no we can have Alley all to us
I love read that line again
it was preceded by the loud horn
of an 18 wheeler and screeching break
So, Allie was just like a fucking, I don't know, like a, like a Buick pulling out.
It's like fucking insane.
Sure, Allie will be traumatized for life now, but she needs a shoulder to cry.
She's dead.
No, no, this killed James.
Oh, you think so?
No, yeah, yeah.
Oh, is it going to be?
Oh, he's out of the picture now.
No, no, Isaac, he's going to have to tend to her.
That's what I'm saying, yeah.
Broken bird.
To cry on.
Not well away, baby, bud.
You will fly again.
I can bring her back to wife.
Now that I...
Wait, so why would be important that she, that James died, though?
Because was it assuming that he was moving in on his office girl?
It could be two things.
It could be because it says James always preferred alley to the others.
So James is dead now.
So don't go to worry about that competition.
And or, like you said, he can, like, baby bird her back to health.
So this is an in-cell horror story.
Which, if that is the direction it's going,
excellently set up.
Because those are the vibes we got immediately.

The collision itself was a sickening thud of two large metal objects colliding.
Even on the...
The way it's phrase makes it imply he was also in a tractor trailer.
Like that's his daily driver.
Even on the seventh floor, it was loud.
The office workers gasped and ran to the windows.
Is that James Carr?
Someone asked.
Hard to tell from up here. It's so banged up.
The horrifying implication of what just happened came to Jack immediately.
No, no, no, no. This can't be true.
Shaking all the way, he ran to the elevator and went to the ground floor along with several others from the office.
Some of them were crying.
As they joined the growing crowd around the scene of the accident, Jack could hear the far-off sound of emergency sirens.
Looking past the gawkers, he could see that the 18-wheeler had hit James' car's broadside.
Its driver had been thrown out onto the pavement where he lay motionless.
James was sitting in the passenger seat of the car.
That should be where she lay motionless, right?
Because the driver was Allie.
I think it's talking about the driver of the diesel.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
James was sitting in the passenger seat of his car, motionless,
but with a surprised look on his bloody face.
Jack couldn't tell if he was alive or dead.
The driver's side, where Ali was seated, had taken the hit.
The space she'd been occupying had been compacted to a third of its original size.
Allie's, okay, maybe, maybe this is a different direction.
Allie's head was smashed open and her twisted body was broken and battered.
All right.
Completely wrong.
I told you.
I was so wrong.
No, you were saying that.
I said she was dead.
She's dead.
Oh, yeah, you're right on that one.
But not the baby bird thing, but she's dead.
Well, Isaiah, what if he's going to try to resurrect her?
That'd be a twist.
I'm saying that all of a sudden, if a some kind of Native American or old man,
I think that this might go pet cemetery route because remember a big rig hit the tiny baby
and then the dad freaked out and took her, you know, or took the baby to the pet cemetery.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah, whatever.
But I'm just saying there might be something there.
I'm like, we can bring her back though.
Yeah.
Whatever.
But you have to do this.
And he has to keep continuously doing horrible shit, whatever, to bring her back.
We'll see.
Allie's head was smashed.
opened and her twisted body was broken and battered.
The crowd was stunned.
Tears, screams,
sirens,
that was all Jack could hear.
Now going back inside the building,
Jack ran to his car and drove home,
angry and sad.
Okay, so I understand it's because he feels responsible,
but...
Giggling over there.
Imagine, imagine, imagine, imagine this is what you do.
You are, you just watched...
You're, you just, you're, you're watching somebody's head
is split open like a fucking crushed water right right right you do this you do not going to
help not going to do anything just you're driving home and yeah it's like he's like oh
squalidance you go fill up gas on the way home you're at the pump tapping your foot yeah
I got to go inside for my receipt
This is the worst.
I am angry and I am sad, sir.
He made the journey home and to his computer.
There the machine sat.
He wanted to turn it on, but was afraid of what he'd find out.
Was he really the one responsible for Ali's death?
The whole chain of events had started with him.
He knew he was to blame.
Jack reached for the power button and then pulled his hand back.
Finally, after several minutes, he found the mental strength to turn.
it on. The screen flickered
and then went black and the familiar
text started appearing on the screen.
No, Jack.
It's not your fault.
I know you're blaming yourself
but all people die
eventually.
Well, when you put it that way.
Whether being hit by an
18 wheeler or dying
of old age. Yeah.
You gotta go. It's like what
she. Oh, so she gets a family
becomes a grandmother passes in her sleep at 85.
Semi-truck now.
Those are equal.
Those are the same thing.
D-E-A-D, dead.
But all people die eventually.
Some, just sooner than others.
Jack stared at the screen.
He resisted the urge to throw the monitor to the ground.
After a moment, the writing continued.
Jack, I'm going to tell you something.
And I really need you to seriously consider everything I'm about to say.
Oh my god.
You thought you were in love with Ali.
The truth is, you just wanted to fuck her.
Oh, yeah.
We're in 2015, creepypots.
We're in 2015, Creepa.
Thomas O.
writing this like this.
You just wanted to fuck her.
And please excuse my language, but every once in a great while, it's best to be blunt.
Jack said she wasn't the one for you.
She would have made your life miserable.
Yes, you would have eventually found the courage to ask her out.
She actually was interested in you.
Way to dig the knife in deeper.
She actually was...
You could have dated her.
She would have had a family, shake, shake, she actually was interested in you.
She thought you'd make a good project.
This is an insult.
This is so insult-curdensile-cuncuncuncun-ins-ins-ins-ins-s.
This is she breaks up with him later.
Oh, yeah.
I'm going to go back in time and kill her.
Yeah.
Sad really for her, not for you.
I want you to think back to all the things she told you.
Why did her last boyfriend break up with her?
Because she cheated on him.
Jack mumbled under his breath.
Because she cheated on him, Jack.
The same thing she would have done to you.
Bro.
This is actually great.
This might actually be the most in-cell thing we've ever read.
This is fucking crazy.
But it laid all of the minds perfectly.
Oh, listen.
It was tripping every radar.
Yeah.
All right.
She would have made you happy for about two months and then miserable for the next four years.
Dude.
You got to kill her.
You got a killer.
So that makes it justifiable that she was hit by an 18.
That makes it justifiable that no contract, no bar, you killed her.
Wow.
Sneaking around, laughing at you behind your back, spending all your money.
Once you finally got rid of her.
You would have been so jaded that you'd never date again.
This is true, Jack.
I see all future possibilities.
The ones that come to pass and the ones that don't.
You see now she really is, Jack, but you let your lust for her blind you to the, blind you to the truth.
Together, you and I have made sure you avoided that path.
One more thing, Jack.
This doesn't, this isn't done playing out yet.
There's more to come.
No.
Fuck you.
You killed her.
Jack screamed and threw the moment.
monitor from the desk landed on the floor and sparked out. Jack got barely in his sleep that night,
and the next day he wasn't sure he wanted to go to work, but the last words he'd been told
had piqued his curiosity, and his anger had somewhat subsided. No work was done that day at the office.
Company brought in grief counselors, people shared their thoughts, cried, they hugged. James had
actually survived the accident, but was in a coma. The doctor,
thought he might recover eventually,
but nobody was really sure.
Late in the afternoon,
Jack was approached by Diego Salbarra.
That's crazy name.
That's a great fucking name.
Diego Salbarra.
Diego Salbarra fucking rules.
That sounds like,
like,
um,
what's their name?
The Salamanca is off Breaking Bad.
The head of the division.
Diego was blunt and up front,
and he offered James's position to Jack.
Hey,
so your boss is in a,
coma and that girl died.
So that makes you head of the company now.
You know how you don't talk to anybody and everyone thinks that you're pretty competent, whatever?
You want the head role of the company?
Do you want the boss of everyone?
Yeah.
Sure.
I killed Allie, but promotion.
Yeah.
A 18 wheel and my computer killed Allie, but promotion.
I can arrange.
So I have to admit something.
What was that?
I moved a potted plant.
Okay.
No, you don't understand.
Actually, it killed.
Never mind.
The promotion doesn't go to you.
You did that?
Yeah, that was you.
like half the janitorial staff over that.
Technically, it would be a temporary promotion,
but James wouldn't be back anytime soon.
Diego promised him that the promotion
would be made permanent once enough time had passed.
Let's keep this on the low key for now.
Diego told him.
I know it might seem quick,
but the Lancaster project James is working on
can't be stopped.
It's too important to the company.
I need someone in charge right away,
and this can't wait.
Stunned, Jack accepted the promotion.
He left.
to work with a strange mixture of feelings, not really sure how he felt about anything.
On his way home, he stopped at the electronics store and bought a new monitor. He made it home,
powered up the computer. Once again, writing came on screen. Jack, I want to be the first one to congratulate
you. I'm proud of what you accomplished. Jack stared at the screen. Jack, I have to ask for your
forgiveness because I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm called the seer. Like I told, I told you. Like I
I told you before, I see what will be and I see what can be.
It's a very powerful gift I have.
But you know what, Jack?
For all my power, I still can't do anything corporeal.
I can't predict.
I can see.
And with enough effort, I can't even communicate.
But I don't have a body.
That's something that was taken from me a long, long time ago.
That's why I need you, Jack.
I'm an artist of sorts.
An artist of human manipulative.
Dying of cringe of slow death.
You'll be my paintbrush and my canvas.
I want you to work with me, Jack.
It's all very simple.
Just perform simple task for me from time to time.
Jack was becoming more and more curious.
And Jack, before you give me an answer,
I want you to know a couple of things.
First off, I'll never lie to you.
Secondly, I'll never ask you to do anything
which taken by itself is wrong or legal.
Taken by itself.
yes, bad things will result
and sometimes people will die.
It's quite a big bud.
But they're going to die eventually anyway.
Oh, I forgot about that.
They're going to die anyway, yeah.
And the bad will always be balanced out
by something good happening to you.
You can kill as many people as you want,
but hey, you'll have a good time.
So, quick thought.
100% this is a teenager
writing the story at the time
who had some dark thoughts
urges and played it out
to basically...
Throwing that author
right under the bus.
Am I wrong?
I mean, as...
No, well, I think
that's certainly the vibe the story
gives, but I think that's the point.
I think this is supposed to be like a manipulative,
like a wicked person
who just sees like the cell
for individual thoughts rather than people around.
So are you under the impression that this is
like, that he is hallucinating
this interaction he's having with the computer?
No, I mean, I think it's, I think it's a bit cooler
if it's himself somehow, but
I think that in my mind
the seer is almost like a 4chan
like your stereotypical like basement
dweller hunched over a computer with like a cloak
on like I am the seer or whatever
but if it's like a spirit
some corporeal form it's one of just selfishness
like giving him what he wants in the long run without
concern for what it does to other people.
It seems like this thing is also going to manipulate
Jack into hosting it as like its bot
like Jack is going to be a host. Effectively yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Because right now it's playing out
like that movie, The Box or something.
It's like that movie that was, uh, it's, it's like, oh, if you press this button.
Oh, the gift.
Is that what's called?
I think it's called the gift.
Okay.
Yeah.
You, you press this button so on Earth will die.
And it's like, you get this big thing, but somebody, they're a bad thing will happen.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Which in itself can't, I think there are ways to do it.
But it's a fucking, this is a slippery slope.
It's hard to make this thing seem cool.
I don't think the story is trying to make it seem cool.
No, or, sorry.
As a read, like the concept of the thing being like, oh, this is interesting.
Yes, yeah, interesting.
Yeah, interesting.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Um, I think, I think considering they kicked it off with move a potted plant and a woman dies,
I think that's kind of like this thing can see a lot of future stuff.
So I think it's an interesting premise there.
And I think, given that's a horror story, I think it's explicit that this thing is supposed
to be manipulative and bad.
Well, it's definitely targeting someone who, if it is trying to be this intentional with
the insult vibes, that it is someone who is someone who is.
A loser.
Otherwise.
Yeah.
Or like desperate, in a desperate attempt to like want to get ahead, all that kind of stuff.
The kind of person who really your metaphor would have pushed the button.
Yeah.
Yes.
Yeah.
100%.
Well, that's the only reason why it makes an interesting story.
Yeah.
And I think that from here on now to this is where it's really going to does it win us over with like, why does he say yes to these things?
What are the repercussions?
And also like what of, what of it, what of his character like becomes like what are the changes that happens to his characters that make
this more interesting.
Right.
Because if he just continues,
if he just keeps fucking moving
potted plants and people die
and he's just like,
oh my God,
I got a bonus at work.
That's going to be powerful.
God,
this potted plant is really powerful.
Jack winced at this last idea,
but he fought the urge
to turn the computer off.
The seer was right.
Everyone would die eventually.
Why not let something good come of it?
And this is,
and here's another thing.
The reason I said teenagers
is because is that not the most,
juvenile.
Yeah, it is, but I think that's the point again.
Do you think so?
Yeah, I think the points to be like he is,
he has a juvenile frame of thought because he's selfish.
I think, I understand what you're saying.
I just think that the phrasing or the wording of it feels like it's coming from a very,
I mean, this was probably a young author, you know, writing like a story.
Which whatever, it's fine, but I'm just saying.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I see what you're saying.
I think it's very.
A teenager being like, well,
I guess I'm just so used to these like early horror stories being that way with being very like
Oh, that's true. He felt a feeling. That's true. And you have a, I mean, well, by this point too, I have.
You do. Yeah, you're in the trenches with you. But I just been reading it as a younger, like, if I read this when I was younger, I'd probably be like, oh, it's a good point.
You know, like people, I guess, aren't going to die. So why not benefit from it? Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
And what about never lying to him? If he'd known at the time that Ali was going to die, he'd have never gone through with the original.
favor. But as he thought more about it, he realized the seer hadn't lied to him and only withheld
information. Still, Jack wondered if he could trust the seer. Work with me, Jack. Together will make
incredible things happen. I'm just asking you to perform little tasks from time to time. Oh,
but these little tasks will have great consequences. They're going to be beautiful, Jack,
and they'll always end with a reward for you. That's the beauty of my art. One single task
produces something bad and something good.
Oh, one last thing, Jack,
you gotta stop saying one last thing or whatever.
I can see you're having trouble with this.
If I stop talking to you right now,
it would take you about two weeks to decide to join me.
But you know what, Jack?
You would join me.
That's right.
You're going to say yes.
So instead of waiting,
why don't you just say yes to me now?
Let's get started, Jack.
And when it's all over,
you're going to thank me.
I promise you.
Jack considered what the seer had just said.
His initial feeling of revolt slowly fading.
He paused.
And then for the first time,
placed his fingers on the keyboard and responded directly to the sear.
What do you want me to do next?
Yeah,
he wants something out of it.
And if he,
he's been the loser for so long,
so he deserves to win and blah, blah, blah.
So I think,
I think kind of the in-cell loser vibe is what the story's trying to do.
Maybe it'll be a thing where the next day,
it already, you know,
maybe it is a blow up in his face immediately the next day.
No, because the next line is, as years passed.
My, my, my God.
He's been killing people for decades.
Okay, all right.
As years passed, Jack did every favor of the seer asked of him.
And as the seer had promised, Jack was rewarded for his actions each time.
The rewards often came in unexpected and interesting ways.
One of the more memorable experiences for Jack happened about two years after he first agreed to help the seer.
Jack, I need you to go downtown tomorrow.
The Seer requested.
Enter Garman's liquor at exactly 12.37 p.m.
A man will ask you a question.
The answer you're going to give him is 27.
As always, the Sears' instructions were simple and direct, yet mysterious.
Next day, as requested, Jack entered the store.
In front of him, Burley Construction Worker was at the counter filling out a lottery ticket.
Let's see here.
Said the construction worker.
My birthday, that's the 15th, my wife's birthday, that's the 24th, and my kids ages, 2, 10, and 13.
The man scratched his head and looked around, zeroing in on Jack.
Hey, buddy, I need another number. You got one for me?
Jack smiled.
27.
Really?
I was thinking about playing 35. But you know what? I like your face.
Let's go with 27.
This is like a Christopher Maltesanti.
With that, the man completed his slip and paid for his lottery ticket.
See you, pal.
He said happily, and he patted Jack on the shoulder on his way out the door.
Jack tried not to put any more thought into what would happen to this man.
Just let these things play out, Jack.
You'll never guess how things end up.
So just let yourself be surprised.
The Sierra had advised him.
Still, it was impossible not to wonder about these things from time to time.
He knew, considering the way the Seer worked,
there was no way possible that he'd actually help this man.
But giving him a losing lottery number?
That was too simple for this year.
And he couldn't imagine he'd actually given him a winning number.
So that's how Jack was surprised.
And two weeks later, he ran into the same man again, this time at the grocery store.
Hey, buddy, it's you.
I remember you. Check it out, I won.
Indeed, the man looked like a million dollars.
Wearing new clothes, a new gold watch, and a big goofy smile.
The man walked right up to Jack.
I didn't think I'd ever see you again, but I'm glad you're here.
I could have never won without you.
Hey, let me buy these groceries for you.
No, wait, that's not good enough for you.
You're my good luck charm.
Always gotta treat people right.
That's what my mom says.
Reach it into his pocket, the man removed his checkbook and promptly wrote Jack a check for $10,000.
It's the least I can do for my good luck charm.
After thanking the man and feeling a bit confused by the whole thing, Jack raced home to his computer.
After turning it on, Sears writing appeared on the screen.
Well, Jack.
How does it feel to be $10,000 richer?
Feels good.
But I can't help but wonder.
I can't help but wonder,
we've never helped anyone before.
Why are we starting now?
Jack asked that question with a tinge of guilt.
Never liked to admit people were being hurt by his actions.
Oh, fuck off, Jack.
But in this,
well, he didn't like to admit it.
Doesn't mean he wouldn't do it.
Yeah.
But in this case, his curiosity overwhelmed any latent
feelings of killed. Oh, Jack, we haven't helped anyone. Yes, that man is happy now.
Bill will have lost every last penny within two years. You saw it yourself. He just gives money
away. Old friends, lost relatives, they're all going to come asking for money. There will always be
some very bad investments as well. The stress of losing everything is going to cause his wife to leave
him. She'll take the kids too. He'll be alone and broke. A ruined man who would have never,
who would have been much better off he'd never won. You didn't, you didn't feel bad.
Jack. It's the man's own stupidity and greed that will do this to him.
So why didn't, I don't know, you just give me the numbers myself.
And maybe I go buy a lottery ticket.
Jack, that would be too silly.
Yeah, but then I would have...
But then I would have more money and this guy wouldn't have to be involved at all.
But still, how deliciously evil is it's going to take two years for this guy to make bad mess?
I feel like instead of $10,000, I could have just got like the millions, the guy won.
Well, Jack, that's funny. You should say that.
But see, it's so deliciously evil what I'm doing.
See, so that's kind of the hank up here.
Like, I understand hurting people sometime, like killing Alley, so I don't get a relationship.
I was all down for that.
Go to the store.
But if I could have just made a lot of money.
Jack, go to the store.
It's easier even to just do that.
Go to the juice aisle.
Get a thing of apple juice and tell the old woman, see you next Tuesday.
And then we'll wait a week and see what happens.
Well, okay.
So that, I don't even know where that one comes around.
Because if it's to benefit me, I think threatening an old woman.
woman isn't going to do anything for any of us. As a matter of fact, that's almost certainly a bad
$10,000 is nice, but is it enough to be like, also, you ruin this man? It's $10,000 to ruin a man's
life forever. Also, we don't, we don't even know. And again, we don't even know how many people
have died. Bought the lottery ticket. You could just give him the numbers. It's like if the whole
goal is to win money. Also, he's had this, he's had this moral conundrum years later.
I was all good with killing people, but this guy's getting more. How many people do you think is
died? His more, hundreds.
His moral conundrum, by the way,
was that they're helping someone for the first time.
Yeah.
Not even...
He's like, wait, why'd we help that guy?
That's kind of strange.
It was easier when they just die.
This doesn't make any sense.
Jack felt some regret,
but the Sears' rationalization
and focusing on his own reward
always put him at peace in the end.
Through the years,
no two tasks were ever alike.
Sometimes the effects of his actions
were direct and easy to see.
Other times they caused a chain
reaction so complex that he simply could not follow it.
Go to the county administration's building. Park in space number 43 at 4.47 p.m.
came one such request. Jack did so. Two months later, he met Donna, with whom he fell in love and ended
up marrying. He wouldn't have even known the two events were even related if he hadn't asked
to see her about it. Jack, when you parked in that space, you cause the person who would have parked
there to park in a different spot, but she bumped the car next to her as she barely made a scratch.
But she called her insurance agent.
Anyway, causing him to leave the office late.
He missed the train home, and while waiting for the train,
he was mugged and stabbed.
He'll never fully recover.
The muggers took his credit cards and used them.
And Jack, I could keep going with this,
but there's another 23 people involved.
There's a lot of other people getting stabbed at desk.
You won't believe it.
Another car crash.
Sometimes these favors are going to be very complicated.
But let's just say,
your action ultimately caused Donna to be in the exact right place for you to meet her.
Well, I mean, she is kind of hot, so.
Wow.
Thank you for that, Mr. C.
I liked my wife.
My wife's pretty hot.
Hey, Donna, you wouldn't believe this, but the guy that your insurance agent, he got stabbed
and 23 other people got by other people.
So if I found out, like right now, through no action of my own, it's like, yeah, the only
reason me and my wife are together is because some guy got stabbed, I'd be like, oh, that sucks.
but if back then someone's like, hey, you want to marry that girl?
That guy's got to get stabbed.
I think that the conundrum here is that would you,
if you found out about this stuff,
would you just think that the whole thing was like a lie?
Like it wasn't even really a choice to be with you.
I mean, in a realm where I have a supernatural entity approach me.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm saying in this context.
If you found out about it.
I mean, like one, you obviously love her and she does love you.
that's not fake, but it's just the idea that's like,
it's like the course of her life was permanently altered because of this sear.
That's, that's inevitably what happened.
If I had no knowledge of it and did nothing to provoke it,
then it's like, hey, fate's got a funny way of finding each other or whatever.
But I think it's the putting action to it and knowing people will get hurt that makes a difference.
Yeah, which does make the concept of the story more interesting is that if you,
if you're able to basically make a deal with, if like the devil in this case is,
and you're changing other people's fates to benefit your own,
it's pretty fucked up.
And like that's kind of a cool horrific concept of like no one has any kind of tangible
option.
I'll win.
Yeah, exactly.
Everyone is like in your playground basically.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're,
they're being forced to play with you kind of thing is pretty fucked up.
And I think here maybe the seer,
especially if it's non-corporial,
you could say that the seer is like maybe a spirit of discourse or something or like
kind of ancient depictions of demons.
how they want people to do evil against each other and stuff.
So the seers winning by causing mischief and things to go wrong on earth.
Yeah.
So it could be what he gets out of it.
And he targeted the one person who's totally fine with it.
I still don't think it's been fully unraveled to why he's chosen.
No, I don't think so either.
Not yet.
To me, this is going to be one of those things where it's like, well, you see, I had to wait years because of blah, blah, blah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Which honestly, after talking about it and reading some of it, these are cool.
I just think the way that the
way in which the sear is talking
is pretty cringe
so it's kind of taking away from the kind of
concept of it like the idea
is cool. It's getting there but yeah
just that kind of I respect that
yeah. Jack's relationship with
the seer grew. Through remaining
mostly mysterious, the seer
divulged enough information over time
so that Jack could get a generalized
understanding of the seer's history.
From historical references,
Jack knew the seer was thousands of
years old. When still alive, the seer had been a powerful fortune teller, an artist, who foretold
future happenings through paintings. Foolish King, who misinterpreted the seer's prediction
and lost a battle as a result, had the seer executed. Unencumbered by physical senses,
and existing in a lonesome void, the seer's abilities expanded exponentially. Finally learning
to communicate with the living, the seer began reaching out to those who would respond, including Jack.
And of course, the Sear knew everything about Jack.
In all, it was as much of a friendship as one can have with the dead person.
And Jack was grateful to the Seer, too.
He had a nice job, a nice house, a beautiful wife.
People respected him.
He was happy, which is something he never really felt before the Seer contacted him.
Twelve years in total past.
Wow.
Twelve good years for Jack.
Task after task was completed, usually about one every month.
Jack, sitting in the office of his large rural house,
his contact by the seer once again.
Hi, Jack.
I have a favor to ask of you.
This one's the easiest yet.
You don't even have to get up.
Call Riajo's pizza in exactly two minutes.
Let the phone ring three times.
Then you can hang up.
Jack smiled.
Nice and easy.
No longer wondered about how these tasks would play out
He trusted the seer and simply did as he was told.
Jack made the call exactly two minutes later.
The quietness of the house was broken 30 minutes later by the ringing doorbell.
That's odd.
Jack thought, neither he nor Donna were expecting anyone.
Jack looked out the peephole and saw a pizza delivery of the boy.
Logo on his cap said, Raja's pizza.
Jack opened the door.
Here's your pizza.
said the boy as he thrust it into Jack's hand.
but I didn't order this
Look, I don't give a damn if you ordered or not
Mr. Riazsche told me to take it here
So that's what I'm doing
Delivery boy argued
So he looked increasingly annoyed and spat in the bushes
Jack looked at the boy in front of him
He looked to be about 17 years old
But the most noticeable thing about him was his size
He was huge
Probably about six and a half feet tall
Very muscular
It's already paid for by credit card
just take it because I'm not driving it back.
Boy put out his hand for a tip.
I don't have any cash on me.
Whatever.
Came the disgusted reply.
Boy looked past Jack into the house,
then turned and walked slowly to his waiting car,
looking over his shoulder as he walked.
Jack closed the door and took the pizza to the living room
where Donna was watching TV.
After explain what had happened,
he excused himself to go to his office,
promising to return shortly.
Donna opened the pizza and took a piece
Come back soon sweetie
This pizza's got your favorite toppings on it
Donna get old as she took a bite
Arriving at his computer
Sears' words appeared on the screen
Confused Jack
Don't be
Your neighbor down the road ordered the pizza
Mr. Riajio told that boy the correct address
But a ringing phone made it difficult for him
To be heard clearly
Still give the boy credit
He got the street right at least
So my reward is a pizza
Yes, Jack, your reward is a pizza
And also the chance to spend a little time with your wife
Go down there, share the pizza, enjoy it
When you're done, make love to Donna
That's not one of your tasks
That's just some advice I think you should follow
Oh, by the way
Your neighbors who ordered the pizza are arguing right now
Over the silly fact that the pizza didn't arrive
Some of the things people argue over amaze me
They really do
The fight is going to get very heated
but you don't, but you don't need to worry about that.
Go enjoy your night.
They're going to kill each other in a domestic dispute.
Make love to Donna.
But he gets to hook up with this.
Slow, sensual.
You know, it, it goes back to your.
He's like, look, all for that.
All for, all for the pointer wing man means a lot.
Can I scale the severity of the reward versus the come out?
Do me fair.
If I was, if I was, if I was, if I was,
if my neighbor being murdered is worth some pizza and a hookup
with my life. If I was an omnipotent being, I probably would get satisfaction out of like very little things like that.
Yeah, especially something as like better as him. Yeah. I don't think that it's even going to be that people are going to get murdered. I think it's just like a heated argument of just being like, you fucking idiot. Bye, blah, blah, I should have happened. I don't know where it says that line about it's going to get very heated. But don't worry about it. That almost implies a menace. Oh, okay. Something could happen. But from someone as vengeful as the spirit, it's not even so much Jack getting.
something good as much as it is something bad happening to something else. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jack followed the Sears' advice, cuddled with Donna as they enjoyed their meal,
then made love to her on their big, comfortable living room couch. Yeah, brother, there you go.
A big, comfortable couch. Donna fell asleep on the couch shortly after 11 p.m. Jack lay there awake.
This latest favor just felt odd. Carefully extracting his arm from under Donna, Jack left the living
room and headed upstairs.
Sitting down at the computer, Jack typed.
Are you there?
Yes, Jack.
I'm actually always here.
I've been waiting for you to come back.
That pizza delivery boy, he's quite a specimen, isn't he?
So, what do you mean by that?
See, here?
Make love to the pizza boy, Jack.
I don't want to do that, Jack.
I need you.
Jack, do as I command.
So not to just make everyone of these episodes.
I like to watch Jack.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm a cuck, Jack.
An omnipotent cuck.
Not to make all of these just references
to previous episodes, but this year is Mr. Wide Mouth.
You have to give in.
You have to give in, Jack.
Just do it, Jack.
Jack looked quizzically at the screen.
The Seer continued.
He's a horrible employee.
He was hired only three days ago,
and already Mr. Riajio wants to fire him.
But as a physical specimen,
he's strong, fast, and very observant.
For example, he knows that you didn't lock the front door
after he delivered your pizza.
What?
Door just kicks in downstairs.
What?
I think it might be.
Well, I think it mentioned him being tall
and he kept looking in the room behind him,
probably saw nice stuff or whatever.
And they didn't tip him.
He's like, I'm gonna come back
and fucking mug this place.
Yeah.
Jack said aloud as he started to get up.
Sit down, Jack.
I need to tell you something important.
And locking the door now won't change your situation.
It's too late, check.
It's happening.
Jack slowly took his seat again at the computer,
looking behind himself as he did so.
You see, Jack, it's true that I never lied to you.
Everything I've ever told you is 100% honest.
But yes, I've withheld certain facts.
You see, I told you that every task causes something bad to happen to someone else
and something good to happen to you.
But there's a third thing.
There's the ultimate goal that each task was working toward.
Remember, Ali?
Of course you do.
What you probably don't remember about her
is that she was helping to pay her brother's way through college.
When she died, he had to drop out.
He was going to be a great psychologist, but now he works in a factory instead.
That's really too bad for our pizza delivery boy.
He could have used a good therapist a few years ago.
But that good therapist wasn't there for him.
Instead, he got some Freudian quack.
And remember how...
And remember our lottery winner?
Yes, you do.
He was a neighbor to our pizza boy.
After he lost all of his money, of course, he beat the boy senseless after the boy jumped into the street in front of his car.
Quite a traumatic memory for a young lad.
He's been building like the Hulk to come back and kill him.
Just building a super soldier, traumatic super soldier just to beat the shit.
It's like Captain America.
My paintbrush and my canvas.
And his mother didn't care about that incident.
Didn't protect the boy at all.
She could not after using all the drugs given to her by her boyfriend,
who happened to be one of the muggers who robbed the insurance agent.
He bought the drugs of the money he made for the robbery
Do you see the scope of my artistry?
Jack's in his chair, like
The devil is coming to kill me right now.
Am I going to die?
The ground starts shaking as he's getting close.
Every amount of childhood trauma this guy has,
he's about to take out on Jack.
Oh, my God.
It's going to be brutal.
Jack sat.
layering at the monitor. He wanted to get up to check on Donna. He was too scared to move.
The Sierra continued. Jack, you've done over a hundred tasks for me, and each one served
an ultimate purpose to psychologically destroy this boy.
Termin, he psychologically destroyed this boy.
They've been building Megatron for 12 years.
Just, the entire story, this is the angriest man you could imagine.
For 12 years, he has had 100 supernatural things done to make his life worse.
Just to ruin this tiny boy's life.
Just to kill Jack.
To psychologically destroy this boy, turn him into a monster, and to bring him here tonight.
Don't you see, Jack?
This involved tens of thousands of people and billions of possibilities.
As the Texas happened.
There's like fire and explosions out the office.
If you had failed to complete even one of the tasks,
the whole chain would have collapsed.
This was orchestrated by me and set in motion by you.
Together we've done something wonderful.
This is a masterpiece of human manipulation.
Our masterpiece.
It all begins and ends with you.
Two perfect points in time.
Tonight.
Wrong address.
No tip.
This poor boy finally snapped.
He's downstairs right now.
He's slitting Donna's throat at this exact moment.
Holy shit!
I love this.
This is so fun.
This is awesome.
Remember all those things you did?
All those people you hurt.
Well, I've been building God.
All for a genetically,
a genetically superior 17-year-old boy to come in
and slit your wife's throat,
which could have done with anybody.
The thing that he's,
I mean, like, he's big,
but it could be,
like, he's not even just going to be like he's crushing
your wife's throat with his bare hands,
as we speak.
Now he just slit her throat.
Yeah.
But I mean like all that psychological damn
I mean imagine if you were tortured by an
Oh don't you wrong immortal seer for 12 years
He's he's got some skeletons in this closet
In those 12 years you know there's some crazy stuff happening
Like he's about to get admitted to college
Then like the college guy dies
Yeah like just so loses your papers
Yeah yeah yeah like everything you can imagine
Oh shit yeah 100 times
Yeah
You get beat up
by a dude in the street because he scrambled his lottery money like oh geez not again this is the
ultimate payoff too this is like making uh like uh michael meyers or like a uh jason vorhees all because
all because like you have his selfish fate fate has made it so yeah because you because you didn't
ask questions until now your selfish your selfish need to always get ahead whatever has crafted
the ultimate monster,
which is just,
I guess,
a pretty stupid,
genetically,
a strong child.
It is a 100-part monkey's paw.
Like every step of the wishing
and like wanting more and more
is like curled background.
It's really funny that none of this would,
like literally if he just would have done it,
if he would have done,
not done one of those things,
it would have stopped.
Yeah.
Pretty funny.
That would have stopped him from killing,
killing him and his life.
Pretty funny.
Yeah, and the Sears just like, I just,
which it goes back to what you said,
an immortal being who has all the time in the world
would do just evil stuff for the sake of evil stuff happens.
This is the closest resemblance we've ever had to a demon, I think.
I think so.
I would agree with that.
Yeah, of like an actual like metals with humanity to make bad things happen.
Something actually from hell.
Yeah, 100%.
That has a scope of knowledge beyond any person possibly could be.
But it's doing it just to make something bad happen to this one guy.
Yeah, to trick him the whole way there.
Yeah. Yeah. This is really cool. I'm super into it right now. Jack could hear a short, muffled scream
coming from the living room, followed by a gurgling noise. No. No! Jack screamed and stood up,
starting to run downstairs. Jack, stop! The voice startled Jack, who was inside his head.
For the first time, the seer was talking to him directly. It was a pleasant voice, a feminine voice.
You can't do anything.
She's already gone.
We'll be coming for you shortly, and you can't stop him.
But why?
Jack cried with tears swelling up in his eyes.
It's not an artistic masterpiece if it doesn't begin and end with you, Jack.
Her voice was soothing.
I want you to appreciate the fact that I'm talking to you directly.
This requires all of my energy.
And as a result, I've had to rest for several years before I can contact anyone again.
That's how special you are to me.
Please don't feel bad about this, Jack.
I want you to take a moment and enjoy your accomplishment as much as I do.
The voice paused briefly and then continued.
Do you know what, Jack?
If I'd never contacted you, you would have lived for 85 years.
85 boring, meaningless, and bitter years.
And when you died, nobody would have been at your funeral.
I gave you 12 great meaningful years.
You were happy.
And together, we did something beautiful.
something unique.
Check, pause a minute, and considered his 12 years of happiness,
and his tears of sorrow mixed with tears of joy.
Turned and looked at the computer, all behind him.
The massive Hulk of...
This line is fucking awesome.
Read this line.
Tore straight through the doorway.
The massive Hulk of the...
The massive Hulk of the Demented Delivery Boy appeared in the doorway,
a bloody knife in his left hand.
On the screen, the last words from the seer appeared.
Don't you have something to say to me, Jack?
Jack wiped his tears and absorbed everything the seer had just told him.
As the Hulk started stepping closer to him, Jack said, mouthed his final words.
Thank you.
That's hot.
That's a fun payoff.
I love that. That's fun.
Listen.
That's so fun.
Listen, the idea of this story is pretty sick.
I think for a thing written in 2015,
by what I assume, maybe even not, yeah, it felt, why does it feel juvenile?
I think it feels juvenile because one, here's a couple of reasons, I think, of this.
Well, first off, I want to say, the idea of fate doing this and then, like, basically manipulating you and playing, like, a twisted game is fun.
This whole kind of, like, it hits in certain ways because it's comical.
It's so outrageous in certain points.
The 18-wheeler crashing into her right away.
The 18-wheeler loved it.
Amazing.
That was awesome.
Need more of that in the future.
But I think it's more of the idea that it's like,
I think that a lot of the sections were,
well, first off,
you said Jack way too much.
Sure.
There's like little things in there
that you could tell that this is like either a first writing
or it's like a beginner writer,
but it's like Jack, blah, blah, blah, blah,
Jack says it a lot.
But I think that every time that there was a description laid out,
it was just kind of cheesy.
Sure.
Maybe, right?
I would say so.
I'd say there was a lot of,
it's why I said earlier descriptors
that I think was intended.
to be menacing, but kind of came off as like juvenile.
Yeah.
The idea, too, which it's one of those things where it's like, well, first off, let me ask you this.
Did you like that it was talking to him through a computer, or do you think that it would
have been affected, more effective in a different way?
I feel like the computer gives you an easy end in the beginning because you need Jack to be
freaked out, but not impossible.
like if like an old testament thing happened in a giant hand appeared on the wall and started writing that'd be a little too much right but like text on a screen is a level of believability that maybe he would do the first step and by the end it's talking directly to him so to me it's kind of like i don't really care that much you know it's not explicitly supernatural you know there's just enough deniability to it but you could also have like maybe it speaks to him through a radio or a tv or something like that i i was thinking during it
Would it have been cool?
Well, I was thinking during it.
And at the end, it's like, oh, it finally talks to him and it's a woman.
And it is like, I have to use all my energy.
And now I'm not going to be able to talk to anybody for years because of that,
which is, I guess, fine.
It's just kind of like, why or whatever?
It's expositioned to something where you're like, okay,
it feels like it's tacked on.
But a couple things.
A couple thoughts.
One, or go ahead.
On that, I think what they were trying to do is imply that for thousands of years,
this has been doing it to people over and over.
And it sleeps for periods of time.
But I do agree that we don't really need that.
It's also an omnipotent being or whatever.
It just feels like you're adding rules to something that you're just like don't even whatever.
That being said, a couple things I was thinking, whatever it ends up being a woman,
if you would have stuck with the N-cell vibe and it turned out that it was like a woman telling him to do stuff,
would have been a fun thing to where that's when he snapped.
He's just like, what?
Or he feels betrayed or something.
Or instead of it being text, I was thinking, what if it was just a,
his inner voice and it was like his
it's like
a voice is talking to in his head that sounds
like himself and it's
he's like I'm not thinking this it's like my voice
is telling me to do shit and it feels like
fate is now like almost like
it's like your
you're like impulse or
something you know like I just
wonder it never felt like the
computer screen thing ever had to pay off besides
the fact that it was probably a creepy pasta that
people were reading on computers yeah and that was a thing
where oh I wonder if I'm going to have
a text on my screen. If you had that kind of? Yeah, um, I feel like, I think the in the head could have
worked if it was done well, but I also think, I think it's relevant to the story that it is a secondary
entity. And if it was in his head, he'd be able to write it off too much as like, are these my thoughts?
Am I thinking this? Is it something in my subconscious? Now, if the thing in his head started to have
actual dialogue with him, I think that would have been fine. Well, I think that that's what I mean is like,
there's always things of like
at least old cases of stuff of people
doing crimes or something, some horrible
things. They'll say like, oh, the devil
told me to do it or an angel told me to do it.
If you took that kind of
that kind of conversational piece and you're
like, oh, it is like another entity. Like I'm being
blessed and someone's like contacting me
or something is there.
I just think that like it makes it something to where
inevitably he can't escape this
conversation, which is ultimately what happens.
Yeah. Right? Which
maybe it was, you could have a thing
where the fate, maybe like this omnipotent spirit or whatever,
is contacting people in different means.
And it's like it had to be the computer because that's exactly how the chest piece
is supposed to move, which is what I think that they were saying.
I just think it would like playing with that more.
This story would be fucking like awesome.
I think if you just had something that felt like you didn't make the conversation
or the text thing as cheesy.
And I think like building up who Jack,
I still don't really know who the fuck Jack is.
really think the in-cell vibes we were getting from the beginning. I think that could have been fun.
I think leaning into a horrific insult character is cool. I think they are there. The idea is if you take a loser or someone who like kind of, I mean, it's not explicitly said that he has a problem with women, but that's, that vibe's kind of there. And he has a problem with everyone else because he's not where he wants to be. So this entity saw that and knew this was the kind of person that would do a hundred things that were asked, even if it hurts other people. So it is because of that.
attitude he has where he wants to get ahead, again, kind of the school shooter thing,
even if it's for the loss of others, it knew that this would work on him all the way to the end.
So I think that tone is there, and that's the reason he was targeted.
I mean, I think I could agree with that.
I think just flushing that character out more and giving us more.
I think like one, just as like another insult that we've covered is the Spire in the Woods kid,
whatever.
And I think that one, I will say that one, I think is much more.
well done because of the writing style,
the style of the story and stuff like that.
And I think that it just, it just allowed us to be with the character more.
Sure.
And stuff.
And then like it did,
two very different kinds of stories.
100%.
But that's also another reason why with this in cell vibe,
which I would say insoles are like the biggest narcissist on earth, right?
Of like people who are just like they think so highly of themselves.
Everyone else is beneath them.
I'm owed this by.
I'm owed this.
Yeah.
Which is also why if you set up that kind of character and it is this inner monologue that's
happening,
almost does feel like, oh, my guilty, my guilty kind of things are like, I'm doing this and like,
it's all this master chess piece thing that I've been doing my whole life. And it's still,
it like, going back to the creepy pasta thing, I feel like, especially 2015, that kind of story would
not have gripped as many people as something coming through the computer. I think part of that may be,
I think part of that may be the marketing of the time. Sure. And I think that like the idea of an
entity. I love whenever stories do a thing that's like ghost or something is using technology
as a way to contact somebody because I think that that's not explored nearly enough in a lot of
stories. It's like this paranormal world whereas before, yeah, there's ghost stories from people
back in the day. But now technology is used as like a gate to interact with people more now.
I think it's like a fun entity. And I like that. I even like the idea of it. I kind of like
the creative swing that it took with like, oh, it was like, it's over a thousand years old,
and it was like a seer from, you know, for a king back in the day, almost like a fucking wizard
or something.
And now it's just been kind of like acting as a demon of sorts to people.
I think it's like a fun take, which I think in a lot of ways, it could have been like,
that's just fucking stupid.
And there might be a lot of people who do think it's stupid.
I think it works.
The idea of someone who was already connected with the supernatural dying and then,
going to that place.
We have a thousand years of...
Even the painting thing ties in where it's like,
oh, he made a picture for a king,
king misinterpreted, killed him for it.
It's like they're still doing that.
So it probably happened.
The reason they were executed isn't because the king interpreted it wrong.
It's because they manipulated it for the king to lose.
Yeah.
And I do think,
I just want to point this out too.
This is the second creepypasta.com story that we've read
that starts off and you're like,
what the hell is this?
And I wonder, and it ends in a way that,
like is actually pretty fucking sick.
Sandman is the story I'm referring to.
It makes me think like
is a lot of like just the setup and the
pacing of it. Is it just because the times
it's just like just get in whatever
and it is a little more juvenile
just from its initial approach?
But it seems like the people who were writing back then
at least had a general idea of like a payoff
or like it was more about the payoff
than it was the hook,
which I'm wondering has been switched now.
People were concerned with.
getting in and getting out. They didn't want that long of stories. And you had to get an attention
grabber because there were so many stories getting posted. If you don't have like a platform to
shout it out and like make people look at it, it's like you got to catch them in the first three
paragraphs. I do think that it felt like it was a culture based off payoff though. Yeah. It feels like
payoff versus more stuff that we're reading now. The hook is always like, oh, this is really cool.
But it doesn't know where to go. You know? With the bad ones, even the good ones I would say have a good
hook and then similarly they sizzle with it for a long time. Whereas yes, back then it was very
punchline, punchline, punchline. Yeah. Just kind of interesting. Two different, I mean, two now older
stories over 10 years old that have had really cheesy laugh out loud moments. But inevitably,
like the deeper we get into the story, the more locked in we get because it actually becomes something
that's pretty fucking interesting. I think it's just kind of fascinating. Yeah. Because that does not happen
nearly enough on the show.
You know, if anything, I would say that it's always the vice versa.
You're always really hooked.
And by the end, you're like, what the fuck are we doing?
You know, which is, and I think that's just from two different times.
Aviator glasses, huh?
No.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I will say the ultimate threat and the ultimate monster just being a genetically
superior 17-year-old boy is amazing.
It's a refreshing.
It's...
Indestructible pedophile.
Exactly.
Yeah.
If I would much rather have
the mentally disturbed
large 17 year old
versus indestructible.
I made a joke that they were sitting
the Hulk and twice it called him a Hulk.
Yeah, that was weird.
Yeah.
For 12 years you've been building...
God, can you imagine.
What if his name tag said Bruce on it
or something like a Bruce band?
Oh, fuck.
That would have been insane.
What does the kid look like to you?
What's his facial features?
I think he looks like the...
I'm Lundgren
from Rocky 4.
God, he's beautiful.
Wow.
Giant chiseled jaw.
I would imagine he's like every large Midwest, like whenever I was younger and like in high school and there was like the huge fucking, huge fucking high school football player kids, they're always like very potato-esque where it's like less about discernible like muscle features and more just like they're just huge.
Yeah.
Doesn't mean they're like fat, but they're just like big bulky guys who are just like way bigger than any other kids.
So, of course, they're just going to fucking dominate.
Yeah.
But, yeah, I imagine buzzcut, acne on his face.
Right.
He has, like, he, it's like one of those things where the width of his temple goes straight down to his shoulder.
So his neck is that wide too.
And he's just a huge fucking, like, thing.
Yeah, he's like peeking over.
What the fuck?
That's nice face.
Looks like it's fucking Chinese.
Chinese vase back there.
It's probably expensive.
I'm going to go and kill his wife and steal his Chinese vase.
Is what I imagine what's happening.
That'll teach you to tip.
in hell.
Give me a $2 tip.
I'm going to murder someone.
Yeah,
because my cell phone's telling me too.
For a pizza you didn't order.
Yeah.
I was just like,
just take it.
My boss said, just take it.
Just be like, oh, I'd be in it didn't order.
It's just kind of funny.
I'm going to kill that guy.
I am going to fucking murder that man.
You know that was his final straw.
For 100 years, he's people have lost papers.
He hasn't got anywhere.
It gets beat up by people on the road.
There has been.
This guy who didn't.
get a pizza, did an order a pizza
doesn't tip, that's it. People have killed
other people for less. I'm going to kill them.
And that's, that's, you know what? I was even
thinking about, too, that's the most horrific part is that like,
it's 100% believable.
Some high school, some high school
person with a shitty upbringing, whatever,
that's the thing that's just like makes them
fucking snap and they do something crazy.
You know, it's funny. I interpreted
that line from this year earlier when the
seers like, your neighbors are going to get into a fight,
but you don't need to worry about it. As they're going to die?
No, it's because you don't need to worry about it.
because it's really the pizza delivery boy
you need to worry about.
Yeah, that dude to deliver the pizza?
Oh.
And if you look at it in this way,
I don't know how you could write it in a way,
but if you really did look at it in a way
where like the omnipotent being is,
it's like a game to him.
It's like, uh,
at the end of every decision he's made,
it's like Thanos in the end credits,
the pizza boy just.
Yeah, exactly.
Send this kid a birthday card.
Okay.
And just put lull on it.
Don't know what this does,
but yeah.
But that's our story today.
The seer, the fucking, the seer possibilities.
Seer possibilities. Good stories.
Yeah.
Would this have made a good live show story?
Yeah.
Oh.
This would have been, this would have been into.
As, uh, as almost, we almost read this in the first live show.
Oh, I will say if you did that.
This one was a, was it because it was too long.
A little bit, but then also I was, I think we ended up finding, well, we wanted to slayed in like the really, like, I think that became.
Mr. Wide Mouth or something or Laughing Jack
so that's why it got swapped out. It was a little too long.
It did have multiple parts,
but it just comes in so hot in the first act.
I was like, people are going to love the car crash.
And then it slows down a little bit,
and it is kind of too long,
but I had this was like,
it was one of the first.
This could work as a live show one, I think.
I think, I am glad we did it here
because I feel like talking over the,
because when you're in the live show,
there's kind of that little tonation of like,
need to keep it up, need to keep spirit going.
Yeah, yeah.
I was being able to kind of break more and talk about it,
I think served better from a story perspective,
but from a comedy perspective,
I think it would have worked well,
especially with,
especially I thought the Megatron.
I also wonder if we,
if we ever do, if we ever do live shows in the future,
if we ever do live shows in the future,
I'm wondering if we just go in less with the grab bag feel
and more of just like,
could you just sit there and read one story?
Or is it just putting your bet too much on?
I think the grab bag.
grab bag works better for live shows. Just because there's people there who want the really funny stuff,
like the Mr. Wide Mouth. You get a definitely wider spectrum of stuff. Yeah, and the good stories and the kind of
funny ones and stuff like that. I'll always pose that question for people. Yeah, yeah. We've done it for a
couple of years now, which this year we're not going to be doing a live show, but in the future,
because I mean, we, of course, we'll do one in the future again. The charity stuff has been awesome
so far. But it's like if we were going to do multiple shows, would it be cool if it's like,
this date they did this show or this story
this date they did this story.
I mean,
I would people be curious just to be like,
it's one story.
You get some riffs in and you could like
plan some other stuff in there,
but it's like one.
If we had like a spire in the woods
or not even that,
like a thing in the basement caliber story,
I think that'd be good for a live show.
The only problem is always just like time.
There's some people I could tell.
I can fucking tell in the Chicago show.
When it's like,
we got one more.
I saw some people do like,
like fucking wrap this motherfucker up.
You know?
you know what it's nice
when I'm sorry you got what you paid for
for a live a live audience thing
I'm sure they're like oh shit because I know that the people
who are listening which ain't much
the live recording
or like when you're sitting at work you're like
I want the longest thing because this is my
but in person but if it's in person you're like
oh my God it's getting late you got to get
push back because the people in Chicago
didn't even know that I had an encore story
planned oh yeah there was
I forgot about that there was supposed to be a fourth
story at the Chicago live show
Which was...
Are we gonna read this weekend?
We will read this weekend.
What?
Can I say what it was?
It was Slender Man versus Jeff the Killer.
That was gonna be our finale story.
If you walked back out and you click the slide and it was that, people would be like, oh, my God.
If you did a live show though and he did Slender Man versus Jeff the Killer and we had actors there in costume performing some of the stuff.
Can they actually fight each other?
Please.
I don't see why not.
We put Nick and Harry in the costumes.
Put him on a fucking David Lee Roth like fucking zip one thing.
have to swing around the fucking the crowd.
Dude.
Please.
But that's our episode this week, guys.
If you want some extra, if you want to support the channel,
you want a little extra content,
feel free to check out the Patreon.
We've got some extra shit there,
some more recordings.
We also went and saw like Lee Kronin's The Mummy one time.
So if you see people be like,
Lee Kronin's this, that's why we were thinking about going to see ice cream man
and reviewing that.
That would be fun.
Eli Roth's abortion.
And then also, if you're listening to this on,
It's an abortion.
He's fucking,
fucky-lawful.
Well, as long as they have
those Montseriell sticks again,
I'll see whatever you take me.
Oh, I see.
But the,
but also,
if you're listening to Spotify
on Apple Podcast,
thank you for listening there,
consider giving us a nice rating.
Until next time, guys,
we will see you in the next one.
Stay creeped.
Bye-bye.
Oh, yes, you still have to do your,
yeah, usually I close my recording
and then you still talk, but.
Right, yeah, so stay creeped.
And remember, the next time
that you want to do something for yourself,
if you never know if you're building a Decepticon
that will come and murder your family in 12 years.
Think very carefully about the tiny things you're doing.
That's actually a good, this is a good moral story.
Next time a guy asks you for a lottery number, walk away.
Yeah.
I didn't get out.
I'm good.
I don't want to get involved.
Yeah.
Next time you want to kill your office crush.
So she doesn't ruin your life in four years.
Just get a different job.
I will say, though, there's no way to game that.
Because you could, you'd go fucking insane thinking about that.
Oh, the butterfly effect?
Yeah.
People do go inside.
thing.
It's insane.
Because if you're like,
well,
I'm not going to,
I'm not going to give them a number.
But if I don't give him a number,
maybe that's the thing.
Maybe that's what does it.
Yeah.
It's insane.
So,
so the moral of the story,
there is a man out there
planning to kill you in 12 years
and you just have to be ready.
Or ain't also.
The moral of a story is everyone's going to die.
Some soon.
That's right.
Everyone's going to die.
Everyone's going to die.
So it doesn't matter.
So you might as well kill that girl now.
Yeah.
So that in 12 years,
you're,
you're with another girl.
And then you both.
die. Creepcast, in cell
certified. Creepcast,
moral of the story, kill that girl.
Bye. Kill that girl.
Kill that girl. Kill that girl. Kill that girl.
