So if he was gassing where she was at, what would you say she was at? I don't know if he dropped her off somewhere or somebody or what he did, so I don't know. Megan Boswell, in the hot seat as a detective investigating her daughter's's disappearance tries to find out what she knows. Look, where is she? I don't know. If I knew, we wouldn't be here in this room.
Starting point is 00:00:32 Welcome to Crime Fix. I'm Anjanette Levy. Megan Boswell is on trial in Tennessee for the murder of her 15-month-old daughter, Evelyn. Prosecutors have shown jurors in Megan Boswell's trial several of her interviews with detectives and FBI agents as they searched for Evelyn. Prosecutors have shown jurors in Megan Boswell's trial several of her interviews with detectives and FBI agents as they searched for Evelyn. And these interviews are pretty interesting. Megan Boswell just couldn't stop talking. And she couldn't keep her story straight when it came to the last time she saw her daughter, who was just 15 months old. Boswell claimed she hadn't seen her daughter, Evelyn, in nearly two months when she reported her missing. Yes, you heard me right. Before we get into those interviews,
Starting point is 00:01:11 let's give you a little bit of background on the case. Megan reported Evelyn missing on February 20th, 2020. Megan Boswell told detectives in Sullivan County, Tennessee, that she had not seen her toddler daughter in nearly two months. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation got involved immediately and issued an Amber Alert. Dozens were looking for Evelyn. Even the FBI got involved. But detectives felt something wasn't adding up. In March of 2020, Megan Boswell was charged with false reporting. Around the same time, agents and detectives found Evelyn's body in a trash can on her father's property. The agents also said they found Evelyn's stroller
Starting point is 00:01:51 in a shed on the property where Megan Boswell lived. Now the trial is underway and detectives have shown jurors evidence, including foil that was wrapped around Evelyn's body, the fleece onesie she was wearing when she was found in that trash can, and a blanket her body was wrapped around Evelyn's body, the fleece onesie she was wearing when she was found in that trash can, and a blanket her body was wrapped in. Jurors have also watched the many, many interviews that law enforcement conducted with Megan Boswell in February of 2020. There are subtitles on the videos since they can be difficult to hear. Take a look. They've been talking to you about your child, haven't they? Yes. And where did you last time you saw your child?
Starting point is 00:02:58 I'm coming home to tell you. Right after Christmas. Where? Ethan's. Okay. And you say Ethan, does that mean Ethan's in Louisiana or Ethan's? In Guam. I got told that.
Starting point is 00:03:12 I don't know if he took and dropped her off to her right after I dropped her to him, but I don't know what's going on. Where did you give her to Ethan at? Guam. I was there on that job. Now, this is one of the first interviews of Megan Boswell in February of 2020. Boswell told detectives that she dropped off Evelyn at the home of the little girl's grandparents. and that's his grandpa yes okay and I'm sorry I didn't know the name but if you ask me it's fit around that's no problem do I have any questions here on the list no no we'll be done in just a few minutes what are you in a hurry I mean like no but if they're gonna keep questioning me and keep me alive I got an attorney. Okay. Because I'm not lying to them. Okay. Now at this point, Steve Williams
Starting point is 00:04:12 is probably thinking, okay, she mentioned wanting an attorney. I know when I watched this, I thought, wow, this interview is going to be over. But Megan Boswell did not lawyer up and Williams found a way to keep talking with Boswell. She didn't specifically invoke her right to a lawyer. She said if they were going to keep questioning me, meaning the other detectives, then she wants a lawyer. Well, do you want to talk to me? Yeah. Okay. All right. So last time you saw your child was at Ethan's route and you took your child to Ethan's
Starting point is 00:04:49 grandparents house, correct? Right, but I never walked in. We stood in the driveway. Okay, and when was you driving? I was driving my cruise. I don't have any more. It was a red 2018 cruise. It's like a little Chevy sedan. Yes. Okay. And was Ethan's there? I mean I guess he was. I don't know. He just had me come up there. Did you see Ethan there? Yes. Okay. And did you see his grandfather? No. Me and Ethan just got on top. Kind of like away from the house. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Like the house was like over here where he parked his car was like towards the trees of the house and we were standing like towards the side of the car okay you dropped it and the car seen his car and I think what kind of car was he driving? A 2018 Nissan Versa. It's black. Okay. And then that was Christmas Day, right? Mm-hmm. Okay. And then after Christmas Day, do you communicate with him? He won't talk to me. But?
Starting point is 00:06:01 New Year's Eve and sort of on New Year's again me and him argue back and forth oh text message or actually on the phone okay so actually talking yes you would get mad and hang up and i'll call back and he'd answer phil to get mad hang up and just quit answering did he say he had everyone there yes and i left him tons of work my husband i was like look like if you want me to leave where i'm at like i'll come to the meters with you and evelyn like i look, like if you want me to leave where I'm at, like I'll come to the meeters with you and Evelyn. Like I just want to see their family, you know what I mean? But I'll come to where you are. Where was he at then? I think he was at his friend's house. Who's his friend? I don't know to be honest with you. Friend around here or friend? Friend around here. Okay. You know, it's pretty sad, but the world can be an unpredictable place. So it's
Starting point is 00:06:43 great to have a lawyer that can stand up for you if you're ever hurt in an accident. That's where Morgan & Morgan comes in. Boswell said she tried to call Evelyn's father, Ethan Perry, but he wouldn't answer. And then did you ever call him and say, hey, where's Evelyn? It's been two weeks. I've tried to call and he won't answer. I was making voice messages. He wouldn't call back. And I want to feel like I was telling them, like, I had Evelyn for, like, over a year,
Starting point is 00:07:53 and he never checked on her, and I had to support her by myself. So, you know, I got up here. I was like, you can take care of your daughter for a little bit. Not that I don't love my daughter or want to be with her, you know what I'm saying? But I was like, you don't help me at all. Like, I want you to see how it feels. No, no help for you. So he didn't help you financially or taking care of her because he was in the military. Yeah. He would never even be like, Hey, like, is she okay? Or like,
Starting point is 00:08:13 can I check on her and help me at all? Does she live in my house? I don't know. And you don't know where she's at? And the last time you saw her was Christmas? Right? Right. Have you went to his grandparents house? Yeah, but nobody was there. Okay. Have you called them and asked them where she's at? Okay. Have you called them and asked them where she's at? Okay. And what brought you here today? I asked my dad to call.
Starting point is 00:08:52 So you still haven't heard from her and somebody's called about her? Yeah. Right. And you have no idea where she's at. Lieutenant Williams then asked Megan Boswell if she's tried actually looking for Evelyn. Have you tried to find her? I mean, yeah, like I called you and answered. I didn't know you went back to the Army until then. Like I was news to me when they came in here like, oh he's from Louisiana. Have you went to court? No.
Starting point is 00:09:27 To be honest with you, I was really trying to be civil over it and like I said, I was with her for like over a year and I was like, if you want to keep her for a little bit like that's fine by me, you know what I'm saying? My mom had a baby when I was like 12, 13. I don't remember, it was 2013 so I guess I was 12. And like I had basically raised her. She was I was 12. And I had basically raised him, she had known him until I was 15.
Starting point is 00:09:46 I had basically raised her, you know what I'm saying? I was like, I had three kids all the time. Okay. And I was like, it's his kid, if he wants to keep her for a little bit, like by means, you know what I mean, I'm all for it. And like I said, I don't love him, I don't wanna be with her, but it's just, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:10:25 That's what it is. She have a girlfriend? Even? Another detective, Captain Joey Strickler, I'll say it was clouds. I guess that's torn out, so I don't know. You don't know? Mm-mm. Another detective, Captain Joey Strickler, then tried to get more information out of Megan Boswell. You know, I'm a daddy, and it breaks my heart to know that this child could be with someone that don't love it, that don't take care of it, or God forbid something bad has happened to that baby. And you know, the thing about it is, everybody's gonna report back to you because you're the mama. And you're the mama that let the baby go. You're the one, when I say let the baby go,
Starting point is 00:10:58 I mean, you're the one that took the baby and sent here. I thought I was gonna hurt her dad and I thought it was okay. You say you thought it'd be okay. Do you think something's happened to it? I mean, no, but I mean, I didn't think that, you know, I wasn't going to see her for months at a time or something like that. What I did, when it all started happening, I was like, oh, I want to be involved in trying to like solve myself. I don't want to do that. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:11:26 I want to be that person who does all that. You know what I mean? And I just wanted to know for over a year about myself. And I was like, if he wants to keep her for a little bit, it's fine. How old are you, may I ask? Eighteen. You're just a young lady yourself. You're a brand new mama.
Starting point is 00:11:43 You're still in a different world, quite a bit. And I can understand you feeling that way, and saying, hey, I just want a little bit of time to myself. A little bit of time to be me before I have to be a mama. And you had all these things that happened so quick to you. You know, it's, bless your heart. I put, I, I, my heart goes out to you. But I'm telling you, we've got to find that little, little thing. We've got to find her. And, uh, do you remember when she broke her arm? Somebody said she broke her arm. I don't know if she actually broke
Starting point is 00:12:22 her arm or not. I just know it was bruised. I never saw it. So I don't know if she actually broke her arm or not. I just know it was bruised. I never saw it. You never saw the bruise? No. Did this happen after you gave her to you? Okay. Okay. Detectives and prosecutors say that Megan Boswell just couldn't keep her story straight. FBI agent David Gratz and Sullivan County Sergeant Matt Price also interviewed Megan Boswell.
Starting point is 00:12:47 They asked her about her relationship with her mother. Did you have a sprained relationship with your mother growing up? I mean, was it difficult? I mean, like, I was more of my grandparents' mom. So your grandparents raised you? Yeah. Mama didn't care much about you, or Mama was strung out on does? Both.
Starting point is 00:13:04 Right? Yeah. I mean, I can't imagine having to live in a home where my mom don't know where I went half the time or how she can't function because she's so screwed up all the time. You know, jacked up on meth or she don't meth, is that her drug of choice? Her and I had used to do both. Cocaine? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Yeah. I mean, that's tough for a kid growing up in an environment like that. I get it. So I guess since I got older, like me and mom talk like every day. Like we'll make stops where we don't talk for a little bit, but like since being her,
Starting point is 00:13:39 I started like really talking to you, like I talk to her every day. Except for Instagram. Exactly, that's what I'm saying. Yesterday she dropped me off and she was like, well, you didn't hear this all these people. I don't want to be involved in it. I was like, okay, that's fine. I'll take me up there. I was like, you just pull over and I'll have you. She doesn't want to be involved in it. Why would she say that? I mean, I don't want
Starting point is 00:13:58 to be involved in the first place. Explain that to me. I really don't. And I asked dad at first, he's like, well, I not telling you if I have it or haven't. He's like, why do you want to know? And I was like, we're trying to find her. And he's like, well no I haven't. Yeah we're trying to find her. I mean, like I told you last night, we've got, I'd say there's 80 people right now, probably more than that, across the state of Tennessee that are doing nothing but looking for this child. Nothing. It's easy. Okay? Um, there's probably 50 of them up here right now. And like I told you before, last night, you know, there's got to be more. I mean, you're not a dumbass. I know this. And I'm not 100% honest with you since, I mean, I'm a lot of you. I told you, you're going straight up on down, big pain. But there's got to be more to the story. Well, Molly told me that she was talking to Ethan about Evelyn.
Starting point is 00:14:56 When? Whenever we were not supposed to start talking, I think it was kind of like a little bit after January. Your mother told you that she was talking to Ethan about Evelyn? She did. And how is she doing that? On the phone. She never specified. Okay. Do you think she was calling him, talking to him like we are, or texting him a Facebook message? She said on the phone. Okay. I don't know if that means texting. You assume it'd be phone calls? Yeah. But that's just my assumption. Right. Could be So Megan Boswell then says that her mother took Evelyn.
Starting point is 00:15:33 This is a completely different story from her initial account about dropping Evelyn off at the home of Evelyn's great-grandparents. Why? I don't know that she knew. You never told me why. Why? She didn't want you to know anything where she was or anything like that. Why not? If I knew I would tell you. Well you got an idea. Well I really didn't think I'd be up there until Dad told me today. Well you got an idea. Maybe Ethan gave Evelyn to her. Listen, listen.
Starting point is 00:16:20 You know. You know. Maybe Ethan gave Evelyn to her. What makes you think that? Well, I mean, she's kind of just taken off. When do you think Ethan gave Evelyn to Angela? Maybe before he left her back. Me and my mom weren't really like on talking day to day basis at that point though. Well let's just assume for a minute that's true.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Okay. Let's say Ethan has Evelyn on the 26th. Let's say the 27th. He says, hey Jill, hey I've got Evelyn, you come get her. Okay. Why didn't your mom tell you, hey I've got Evelyn? I don't know. Did your mom tell you how you got that one? I don't know. Did your mom tell you how you got that one?
Starting point is 00:17:07 No. I even asked her and she just kind of got mad at me. When did you ask her? Yesterday. Well, it's only yesterday that she did that. She drove me off up here. You know that. I do. Well, I asked her if she had it. I said, do you know where she is? And what did she tell you?
Starting point is 00:17:29 She wouldn't answer me. She said, go on. You don't need to go up there. You don't need to talk to him. You don't need to tell him anything. Have you talked to anyone today that you felt a sign to him on? No. We know you talked to Tommy.
Starting point is 00:17:41 You did. Yes. Who else did you talk to? Hunter. I did. You talked to Hunter. When did you talk to? Father and I did. You talked to Hunter. When did you talk to Hunter? A little bit before I came out here.
Starting point is 00:17:49 What did you talk about? Well, he was going on about Facebook and apparently Michael and they were killing me and he had a chicken job. That's common. Dad's been blowing me up. Your dad cares about the baby. Who is he? Dad. to blow me up. Your dad cares about the baby. Listen. All right. Hear what you said just a minute ago.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Maybe Ethan gave Evelyn to an angel. What you just said. Maybe. No. That's not how you that's what you said but that's how you said said. Maybe. No. It's not how you, that's what you said, but it's how you said it. Okay?
Starting point is 00:18:29 I don't know. I'll be honest with you. Let me talk. Okay. I've been doing this a long time. I've talked to a lot of people. They're sitting right there in the same position you are. I know when you're not being 100% honest.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Just like I knew yesterday when I told you that you didn't have a gas walk down the road. Mom dropped you off. I knew that. I know you told me one thing, but I knew something else. Okay, I'm going to be honest with you, babe. I don't know for sure, but I just might not feel it at this point. Now, these detectives, they weren't born yesterday. They clearly do not believe a word that Megan
Starting point is 00:19:05 Boswell is saying. doing to find Evelyn, you keep calling your mom. Why? Because I think she knows something. I don't know for sure. I'm not calling you because I don't feel like you're not being 100% honest with me. I am. First time I've heard that. I've talked to you now for coming up on five hours. First time I've heard that. Maybe. So I can be in trouble for not saying that? Look, we are concerned about Evelyn. We want Evelyn. What did I tell you last night? We will go to the end of the freaking earth and back. I keep coaching. They've got two damn planes to put in the air. I have no idea where she's at. I've called her maybe like a hundred times. Maybe you don't know where she's at right now. I might have an idea, though. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Tell us the idea. She used to stay on Lincoln Collard Road in La Besson alright tell me that last night what makes you think she's there right now these are the only places I know she'd go to the three we talked about last night yeah and then Kernville used to camp a lot I don't know where she got like exactly her like
Starting point is 00:20:22 truck passing assault charge like Scott County by now it's close to that river. Pretty close to be, excuse me. Scott County, Virginia? Pretty cold to be camping. Okay. Okay. Okay. Mendoza, Virginia? Scott County?
Starting point is 00:20:37 Yeah. Tell me where they're at. I don't know exactly where they're at. You got a good idea. You know yesterday when I had you taking me to places? Those are like the only ideas that I have. Answer my question. Okay. Whose profile picture is that? Mom. All right. I'm gonna read something to you. Okay. How's Evelyn? Good. Meaning? She hates me.
Starting point is 00:21:15 I don't have a child to inform you about, sadly. Not yet. What? What do you mean I don't have a child to inform you about? That's what somebody said to you. Can I say that? You can. How's Eve somebody said to you. Can I see that? You can. How's Evelyn?
Starting point is 00:21:26 Good. Me too. January 26th. I'm good. What's your point? Tell me about it. I didn't want to tell anybody that I didn't know where she was at. So instead of saying, I don't know where she is, you're saying she's mean to someone? Excuse me.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Okay. Sorry. That's new information. That's new information. Last night she was the sweetest baby to ever grace this earth. Now she's mean. That's what you said. You said she was a sweet baby.
Starting point is 00:22:01 She was a sweet baby. She never cried. It was never a problem. I always tell her. Now she's mean to someone. She never cried, was never a problem. I always tell her. Now she's mean as hell. I need a break. Tell us about it. I just know everybody knows I didn't have her.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Okay. So I'll make a big case as to why I didn't have her. Why not? Because I feel like it made me look like a bad mom. So the detectives right there are referencing Megan Boswell's own Facebook messages from late January, where she's telling somebody that Evelyn, a 15-month-old little girl, is mean as an F-bomb. You heard it right there. It's kind of unbelievable. The questioning continued. So you think she's okay? You think Evelyn's okay? I hope she is. That's not right. The questioning continued. to ask mom anything about it she'd just be dropping bush we're like we don't need to talk to him was that yesterday or the day before whenever she got days are running together all right
Starting point is 00:23:17 whenever she dropped me off i get it okay okay instead of your mom i'm writing down angel it's easier for me thinks angel knows something that transforms into thinks Angel has Evelyn. You're not out here calling Ethan saying, where's my baby? Because last night that was the story. I think Ethan has him. Okay. You say Ethan had Evelyn on December 26th. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:40 It's time for us to lay it all out there. We know that's not true. Okay. Ethan didn't have her on Christmas. We know that's not true. Okay. It's time for us to lay it all out there. We know that's not true. Okay. Even didn't have her on Christmas. We know that's not true. Okay. Are you tracking me? Okay. If. Put that last time, three and a half hours in the past. Okay. Right here, right now. Help us where Evelyn is. Okay. Mom came and got her for my trailer. When? I was working. Mom came over to my trailer today, you said. When? I don't know exactly today yesterday no it was like a week or so after i started work because i had no why did you start work the second of the day yeah the second of december okay 12 2 angel god no it was a week after that okay it was my second week of work Okay. Around 12-7. Okay. What happens next?
Starting point is 00:24:47 Well, she stayed at my trailer for a little bit. Who stayed at your trailer? Mom. At the trailer at Buffalo Road. Okay, I don't know how I told you this. I was at that trailer last night. Okay? Yeah. I looked in it. I looked around it. I looked everywhere for Evelyn. I looked in the shed. Okay? I know where that trailer is. Okay. Evelyn was in that trailer the first week of December.
Starting point is 00:25:11 Yes. What happens next? Okay. Mom got by at me and she left. And she took Evelyn with her. With your permission? No. Okay. When was this? The same day? No, it was probably after. It was maybe like three, four days.
Starting point is 00:25:28 So one day we're talking about the 10th, 11th, 12th of December or something? Oh, I don't know. The detectives do not believe Megan Boswell's reactions or demeanor are normal for somebody whose 15-month-old daughter is missing. When is the last time you saw Evelyn alive? Whenever Mom left with her. When? Back in December? Okay. Who has seen Evelyn alive since then?
Starting point is 00:25:47 Just mom. So, what do you think happened to her? I don't know. She's up in the room. Mom knows. She used to like stay up there or something. Why would she take Evelyn? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:55 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:03 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't her? I don't know. She's up in Virginia with somebody at the mall. I don't know. She used to stay up there or something. Why would she take her from you and not give her back? I don't know. Why in the hell did you not tell us this? Well, maybe she might do something. You don't like trying to get through. So tomorrow might do something. I can understand that.
Starting point is 00:26:37 Listen to me. We want to find this baby. I want you. I think I'll do the worst. And I just never find her again. I was talking to you all about her and everything like that. Okay, okay. So, how can we find Evelyn?
Starting point is 00:26:56 I don't know where she is. I tried to call her yesterday. You know, I tried to call her all day yesterday. We went to Texas, and I didn't try to find her. I couldn't find her. I don't know. What's the one thing you want most in this world right now? I don't know. Where do we go? Where do I leave from here right now? Where do I send 40 people?
Starting point is 00:27:13 Where do I send 100 people? Where do I send a plane? I don't know if she's in Bristol, Virginia or not. I don't know. Who is she going to be with? If she's not in that car, where else is she going to be in? Will. We'll have to try.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Okay. Will's the boyfriend. The cloud. The detectives bring in Megan Boswell's father, who tells her she needs to tell the truth. All right. She said it was okay for me to sit in if y'all want to talk, but what I'm saying is if y'all want to talk in private at any point. I wasn't happy to step out and let dollars sit there and talk I told them they know what's going on I have to return those folder you can That's why he called you. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:08 What's going on? They know. You don't need to know. Okay. That was okay. They know what's going on. Y'all know what's going on. We know what she's called us.
Starting point is 00:28:22 I'll say that. We know what she's told us I'll say that we know she's told us I've been sitting here as Maggie and Katie have been sitting with her for a while and I've been out on the ground running down the information but we know what she's told us so we've been trying to get a hold of you. Yeah. So we've been trying to get a hold of you. Yeah. . .
Starting point is 00:28:55 . . . I'm not going nothing against you. I'm truth, and that was alright, and the things. I left her trying to find her. And you passed the lie detector test? I'll hop to bar for a harder point. They're trying to find her, she did what? Was that your mother's voice? What?
Starting point is 00:29:39 Whether she's at or whatever. Maybe. I didn't hear what you asked. I asked her picture mom was doing for a baby dinner well I do it she's taking off off on them everywhere she could possibly be with that would not give them every phone number I have heard the drop father your mom's got a mission Your mom's got evolution.
Starting point is 00:30:06 No, she don't. She told me she does. All right, then. Your mom's on evolution. Where did she get it? In the chamber. No, your mom doesn't. No, she doesn't. That's who took her down. Megan's dad leaves the room and the detectives take one more run at Megan Boswell. Yeah. And that's why I went to say at Hunter's, yes, I didn't want a break. And I was like, I'm going to be back in the morning for all your work and check on them. But what I'm saying is we've got about a month time span where you're not seeing Evelyn.
Starting point is 00:30:50 I couldn't get ahold of Mom. She changed her by number. Right. I know, but she was at. But you're not like freaking out, oh my God, I need to call the police. Yeah. You're just like, hey, I just need a break from Evelyn. I'm tired of raising Evelyn. Well, I thought she was okay. Okay. Okay. from everyone i'm tired of raising ebony well i thought she was okay okay
Starting point is 00:31:08 okay let's so let's let's say this we've got as late as the 12th through the 16th never talk to your mom from that point to when she called you in january i would try to contact her and i even called her parents the night after they knew what she was having. I didn't have a current phone number for her. Let me just ask it directly. Did you ever speak to your mom in person during that time frame? No. Did you text her? Facebook messages? I tried to. I got the number she had. And I took it home. Just here's what I'm asking. Did you all have a conversation through text messages during that time? No.
Starting point is 00:31:51 Snapchat, Instagram? She doesn't do anything like that. Whatever. There's probably something I've never even heard of. She doesn't do anything like that. Do you do anything like that? I have Instagram. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:02 Were you messaging her on anything during that time? No. I tried to contact her like I said in that phone number like somebody else had at that point. Okay. Were you messaging her on anything during that time? No. I tried to contact her like I said in that phone number like somebody else had at that point. Okay. So like a month goes by, there's zero communication with you and Angel, right? Right. What reason do you have to believe that Evelyn is still alive? Hope.
Starting point is 00:32:32 Okay. still alive. Hope. I only have a solid reason that she's all good. Yeah, Evelyn is 16 months. 15. What would you know? I don't know. I don't know. Of course, these detectives check in to Megan Boswell's claim that her mother, Angel Boswell, took Evelyn. Megan has told you this story about her mom. Correct. Possibly having a child. Is that right?
Starting point is 00:33:06 Yes. Now, did you all go looking for Angel Boswell, Angela Boswell, and William McLeod? Yes, we did. And were you all able to locate them? They were located, yes. Where were they? Wilkes County, North Carolina. Were you able to locate Evelyn with them? We were not. Wilkes County, North Carolina. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:27 Were you able to locate Evelyn with them? We were not. Okay. Did you, in the course of your investigation, find any evidence that Angel Boswell had ever had Evelyn? That's correct. So there was no evidence? None. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:44 Any evidence during your investigation that Angel Boswell had ever taken Evelyn? None. The jurors also saw interviews that Megan Boswell granted to local TV news stations. So let's get into the last time you saw her. Tell me what that time was like and when that was. Well, actually, I want to talk about that. I've told TBI where to find her in Mendota. My mom took her to a campground and a silver camper. And if they don't go tonight, I'm going to find her in Mendota. My mom took her to a campground and a silver camper.
Starting point is 00:34:10 And if they don't go tonight, I'm going to find her myself. Because I've told them and they're not really like taking it seriously. And if they don't go tonight, like I will go myself and go get her. Tell them you want to shoot their mom. Don't get into that. Stop. Stop. Stop. No, you need to defend yourself. That's all they need to know. Quit. Quit. They already know, Megan. Megan Boswell had mentioned Mendota to the detectives, but she didn't really talk about going to find Evelyn there herself. Then she was asked about the last time that she saw her daughter. So tell me about the last time, though, that you saw Evelyn. Tell me what you guys did and when that was.
Starting point is 00:34:42 We went to go out to eat, and then my mom came and got her shoes was wearing a little hot pink tracksuit with a matching bow, little matching shoes. And was this December 28th, like right after Christmas? A little bit before Christmas. Prosecutors will say that is yet another discrepancy in Megan Boswell's story. And that's it for this episode of Crime Fix. I'm Anjanette Levy. Thanks so much for being with me. I'll see you back here next time.
