The hotel does not want you here. And if you refuse to leave, you and your daughter will go to jail.
That news from police did not go over well with a mother and daughter in Florida.
I have the story and the video and why the pair ended up in handcuffs.
You're choosing to leave? You're a liberal. No. Are you refusing to leave the property? Yes.
Turn around, please. No. Turn around, please. No, no, no, no. No, no, no, no.
Welcome to Crime Fix. I'm Anjanette Levy. As you can probably tell, that mother-daughter trip to Palm Beach didn't go well for the Hendricks. They checked into the Four Seasons Hotel, pretty nice place, and within a matter of hours, Monica Hendricks and Kelly Hendricks were in handcuffs in the Palm Beach County Jail, charged with trespassing, among other things. Now, this incident actually happened about a year ago, but the body camera footage just surfaced and it's been making the rounds.
It started when employees called police on February 15th, 2024.
We have two guests that are clearly drunk and they're being very aggressive towards other
people and they already start hitting people. I want to get them out of here. Are they,
did they stay at the hotel? Yes, we kicked them out and we ext start hitting people. I want to get them out of here. Are they, did they stay at the hotel?
Yes, but we kicked them out and we extorted them out.
They are guests?
They are.
And they evicted out of here?
They are.
Now that's Officer Friedman's body camera.
He walks toward the two guests, Monica Hendricks and her daughter, Kelly Hendricks.
They're at the registration desk.
Chill out, my doll. I'll take care of it. I'm calm. I know, but just let mericks. They're Monica Harriot. Okay, the story. Okay, I don't drink alcohol.
Do it fair, do it fair.
Let me talk.
I just want to tell you.
We're going to talk.
I'll let you talk, but I want to do it outside because I can't hear in here.
Let's walk outside.
Don't listen.
Let's walk outside.
Not inside.
I don't want to talk inside.
Wait.
Hunt, please.
I want to say it because we don't drink alcohol.
Welcome. Let's talk outside, please. Please. Come on. Let's just talk out. I don't want to
disturb anybody else. Okay. Officer Friedman gets the mother-daughter duo to walk outside.
And I have to tell you, Kelly Hendricks uses some pretty mean language when referring to some of the hotel staff. The conversation outside
continues with Monica Hendricks insisting she doesn't drink alcohol. Let me tell you just what
I saw. Okay. All of a sudden, these people just so mean and just like knocked me over and...
Where? In the dining room? Yeah. And listen, I'm in the travel business, and she's with me, my daughter, and I was knocked down.
But listen, I didn't care about that.
And then she was over there.
When were you checking out?
Tomorrow?
No, I'm here.
I just checked in today.
Okay, well, they're not going to probably want you to stay here, but they got that right.
Wait, what?
Of course, because these people are fucking got that right. Wait, what?
Of course, because these people are f***ing liberals. Wait a minute, what happened?
They have a right if they don't want you to stay here.
Well, I just came today.
Now that's f***ing employees.
You know what?
If you're going to talk, don't curse.
I'm not going to curse to you.
I want to tell you about Upside.
It's a free app that gets you cash back on things like gas,
groceries, and restaurants. This is real cash back. It's money that appears in your Upside app
that you can transfer straight into your bank account. I've used Upside at Dunkin' Donuts when
I needed a cup of tea or coffee. I claimed an offer for Dunkin' on the app. I paid as usual
and followed the steps, and then I got cash back. It's really easy. You can also use Upside at
places like Shell, Exxon, 7-Eleven, Taco Bell, and that's just to name a few. To find out how
much you could earn, click the link in the description to download Upside or scan the QR
code on your screen and use our promo code CRIMEFIX to get an extra 25 cents back on every
gallon on your first tank of gas. That's promo code crime fix for extra cash
back. Now, Kelly Hendricks promises that she's going to stop cursing, but that lasted for about
30 seconds. And Officer Friedman, you don't need to. I can't understand why people do that.
I apologize for the cursing.
Well, a dirty mouth like that doesn't impress me.
Okay, it really doesn't.
I apologize.
But it doesn't impress me.
Okay.
Okay, she quit.
Accept it or not.
Okay, you both appear a little intoxicated tonight.
I'm not intoxicated.
You are intoxicated.
I can smell it.
I didn't drink that.
I can smell alcohol.
It has to do with your behavior.
It's not due to drinking.
I don't care if you drank for the last 15 years or not.
When I got here, you were yelling.
You were loud.
You were yelling.
When I got here, you're acting aggressive towards me.
And I'm going to tell you, the hotel has a right to have you leave.
And if you refuse to stay on property, if you refuse, you will be placed under arrest.
Okay?
That's all I can tell you.
I guess arrest me.
My husband...
Are you refusing to leave?
No, I am.
You can arrest me.
Hey, Jimmy.
You can't hurt my mom.
You know what?
The best thing to do... I'm trying to just talk right now.
He's trying to tell me that
we have to leave and get another hotel
room.
I don't know.
I'm telling you right now, this is going to be really bad.
Okay, so
let's try to get you guys another hotel room.
No, no, no.
They didn't want to get you guys another hotel room.
The people at the hotel are
trying to talk to us. It doesn at the hotel are. This is so sad.
It doesn't matter.
I'm sorry.
So the Hendricks, they've basically dared the police to arrest them.
Clearly, the employees at the Four Seasons and the police see this situation much differently than Monica and Kelly Hendricks do.
Officer Friedman talks with the employees to figure out how this entire thing
started and how it got out of hand. They couldn't get into the room because obviously they were at
the wrong room. Their key card wasn't working. They demanded and started screaming at our
colleagues saying, open the door, open the door. This is my room. It's registered under me.
They tried to explain. What room number? They're registered under. Okay, they
went to the wrong store, the wrong floor. They went to the wrong floor, the wrong room,
and they tried to, at that point when we tried to tell them, hey, you're at the wrong room,
they blew a gas. So you went upstairs? Yes. And they were doing what? Yelling, screaming
and stuff? Yelling, screaming. They hit Talia in the arm. They punched her in the arm.
Then they yanked her arm and said, let's go.
You're coming with me.
The daughter said that.
Yanked Talia's arm, said, you're coming with me.
We're going to the lobby.
Talia said, don't touch me.
She got mad.
She ran down to the lobby.
She wasn't walking.
She was running.
She ran down to the lobby.
She started complaining to our ram right here.
Then she came back upstairs. When I went upstairs to talk to mom.
So she's the mom's up there still. And yes, mom did not want to come downstairs.
Now, all of the employees tell a very similar story.
They were knocking on the service door. They were crying to me. Now, all of the employees Building third floor. Okay. So this is, and I said, there's guest rooms around the sleaze, there's guest sleep.
Were you getting inside the closet or what happened?
And then they got aggressive.
She got in our faces and then.
Which one, the girl, the young one?
The younger one, yes.
The young one did all the hitting, it seems like.
The mom didn't do anything.
The mom did shove.
That's the one that shoved me.
All right, she's the one that hit me.
Thank goodness.
The police check out the surveillance video and it shows Kelly Hendricks kicking at the security guard.
Right there.
It's not funny.
It's not.
That's not as clear as it gets.
So there's been kicking and hitting of hotel staff by Kelly Hendricks.
No hotel is going to put up with that type of thing.
Definitely not the Four Seasons.
Officer Friedman, he goes back outside to tell Monica and Kelly Hendricks that it's time for them to go.
They do not want you here.
They're going to get your stuff in the room and they're going to ask you to leave.
OK, and if you shoot a piece of paper stating you cannot come back,
if you refuse to leave, I have no choice but to arrest both of you.
I'm not leaving.
Okay?
Sorry.
You know what?
I'm not leaving.
I'm just not.
Sorry.
No.
I'm not leaving.
I'm not either.
We paid for the so-so.
We did nothing wrong.
What did you do?
They don't want you here.
Who? Who? Who? So we did nothing wrong. They don't want you here. That's why.
Who?
Who?
Who?
They have green hair.
They don't get a.
Who doesn't want us here?
They treated us like.
It's just not fair.
Wait a minute.
Democrats.
Who doesn't want us here?
Don't.
I asked you before not to.
I asked you before not to touch me.
Monica Hendricks has insisted that she has not had anything to drink in 15 years,
but police have told her they can clearly smell alcohol on her breath.
She and her daughter both refused to leave.
We're paying for this hotel.
We didn't do anything wrong.
Those liberal Democrats.
Are you guys refusing to leave?
You're a liberal. No. Are you refusing to to leave? You're a liberal.
No.
Are you refusing to leave the property?
Yes.
Turn around, please.

I don't care.
It's my mom.
It's my mom. It's my mom.
Give me your other hand.
I kept the office in there.
You're in there.
You're watching us.
Give me your other hand.
You're watching us.
I'm trying to help you up now.
You hit me.
You're going to another charge.
She already got the charge. She's got a felony charge right here for hit me. You're going to another charge. She already got the charge.
She's got a felony charge right here for hitting me.
Punch me in the face.
Okay.
Okay.
Get up.
I really don't think I've ever heard so much screaming in my life.
And it continues.
The officers then get Monica Hendricks into the cruiser.
Let it go now. It's over. Whatever. You said your piece already. You said your piece. Okay.
She may stand up.
Stand up.
Stand up.
Stand up.
All right, all right, all right.
Stand up.
You gotta stand up.
One, you ready? One, two, three.
Get you up. Stand up. Oh, you ready? One, two, three. Get your ass.
Sit down.
Oh, shit.
Oh, my God.
Where's my daughter?
Eventually, other officers arrive and a female officer arrives to search the Hendricks.
Can you search her for me?
Yeah.
Do you have anything in your pockets? No. No? the Hendrix. jacket or anything? Uh, in my license, there should be pockets, but I have nothing in there. Okay.
Where's the pockets?
Uh, should be in the front.
I don't see any of them.
Okay.
All right, I'm gonna take, uh, the jewelry off you.
I promise you I will be concerned.
How do you get this bracelet off?
Just like that.
All right.
It's then Monica Hendricks' turn to be searched, and she's not happy about it.
Not one bit.
Open the door now.
Let me explain something to you, okay?
We're going to search you.
If you start acting belligerent, it's not going to be well.
I can't breathe.
If you stop yelling, you can breathe.
I can't breathe.
Get out of the car.
I can't breathe. Come on, ma'am. Let's go, ma'am. I'm going to help you, okay? You got your camera? I can breathe. I can't breathe! Get out of the car. I can't breathe!
Come on, ma'am. Let's go, ma'am.
We're going to help you, okay?
We're going to help you, okay? Slide your foot.
One thing at a time, okay?
Don't try to help me.
You don't want assistance?
Don't try to help me.
Ow, ow, ow!
Can you slide this foot forward?
There you are. You got it.
Don't try to help me.
She's going to search you, okay? Let's get back in the car, okay? Can you slide this foot forward? Yes. There you are. You got it. Don't try to help me. Do not stand up.
She's going to search you, okay?
No.
Let's get back in the car.
I'm not getting in the car.
I'm going to stay up right here.
Take this thing off my wrist right now because I'm hurting really bad.
Monica, we're going to ask you. I'm going to tell you right now.
I'm going to ask you.
Take this thing off my wrist now.
Let's get in the car.
I'm going to tell you.
You can either do it like a woman.
Okay, listen.
As an adult, or we're going to put you in the car, okay?
Yeah, I'm a woman.
Yeah, so let's get in the car.
Not a man. Okay, so let's get in the car then. Okay, can I just tell you real quick? You can tell me as you get in the car. Okay, listen. Or we're going to put you in the car, okay? Yeah, I'm a woman. Yeah, so let's get in the car. Not a man.
Okay, so let's get in the car then.
Okay, can I just tell you real quick?
You can tell me as you get in the car.
Okay, listen.
Go ahead.
No, I'm going to tell you right now.
Take this thing off my...
It's not coming off, okay?
Consequences.
Let's get in the car.
You sit there first, okay?
We're trying to make it easy for you.
We're trying to make it easy for you.
Wait a minute.
Did you grow up in like a...
I mean, you're not going to take this off my...
Wait!
Come on.
Don't push me in!
Don't push me in.
Get her out.
Get in the car.
No.
Let's get in the car.
Have a seat.
We're not going to tell you again.
Please take it off now.
Again, the hotel employees said this started because Monica and Kelly Hendricks went to
the wrong room.
And when housekeeping tried to help them, they got upset because their belongings were
not there in the wrong room.
The hotel staff tried to explain to them that they were in the wrong room.
On the way to the jail, Monica Hendricks doesn't understand where she is going.
Where are you taking me?
Hello?
Where are you taking me?
Can you tell me?
You're going to jail.
You're going to the jail.
I've got a tracker on me, so.
Okay, well, that's fine.
You're allowed to have a tracker.
Okay, I'm good with that.
You're going to the, you're going to jail.
What did I do wrong?
I didn't do anything wrong.
Okay.
I have no idea.
Monica Hendricks tells the officer, it's Officer Friedman, who's driving her to the jail, that her husband has a tracker on her.
Now, once Kelly Hendricks arrives at the police station, she tells one of the officers that she's going to sue her. Just walk straight.
What was that?
Go ahead.
In here. I'm gonna take them off.
Then it comes time to read Monica Hendricks, her Miranda rights.
You're under arrest. What am I doing? I don't want to see something. Wait a minute.
Wait a minute.
Okay, wait.
I want to get to the hotel. What do I do?
Okay. What we're going to do right now is read your rights.
I'm not going to do it.
I mean, I don't feel like she wants to hear things.
She's going to call it quits.
She's going to read you the rights and tell us if you understand.
Just bear with me, okay?
No, but I want to know what I do wrong.
I have to read it to you.
Tell you after you read the rights.
Is this like a Bible thing or?
No.
I want to know what's going on.
I'll tell you.
Let's read the rights.
We can question.
No, wait.
I just landed.
I came here.
I got a hotel room and I went to the beach.
All right, I'm going to start off with number one.
You have the right to remain silent and not answer any of my questions.
Do you understand?
No, don't talk.
Any statement you make must be freely and voluntarily given.
Do you understand?
No.
You understand English and you speak English, so I'm taking your
yes.
Do you have the right to the presence of a lawyer of your
choice before you make any statement
and answer any question? Everything's a no. If you cannot afford a lawyer, you are entitled to the presence of a lawyer of your choice before you make any statement and during any questioning.
Everything's a no.
If you cannot afford a lawyer, you are entitled to the presence of a court-appointed lawyer before you make any statement and during any questioning.
Yeah, everything's a no.
If at any time during the interview you do not wish to answer my questions, you are privileged to remain silent.
No, I want to go home.
This is nonsense.
I can make no threats or promises to induce you to make a statement. This is all, like, the Biden stuff. I want to go home. This is nonsense. I can make no threats or promises to induce you
to make a statement. This is all like the Biden stuff. I want to go home. Any statement can.
Is this like a Democratic thing? Any statement can. No, I'm serious. It's so weird. What's going on?
Can you tell me? Yes, you're under arrest. Now, both Monica and Kelly Hendricks likely said
enough already to the officers on the body wornworn camera. Monica Hendricks and Kelly
Hendricks were later booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. Monica was booked on charges of
battery trespassing, resisting an officer with violence, and disorderly intoxication in a public
place causing a disturbance. Kelly Hendricks was charged with trespassing, disorderly intoxication
in a public place causing disturbance,
and resisting an officer without violence. Kelly Hendricks entered into a plea agreement where she received 12 months of probation and completed an anger management course. Monica Hendricks' case
has not been updated on the Clerk of Courts website since March of 2024. It doesn't appear
that either mother or daughter who are from Texas spent any more than
one night in jail last year. And that's it for this episode of Crime Fix. I'm Ann Jeanette Levy.
Thanks so much for being with me. I'll see you back here next time.
