This is a woman's worst nightmare, a young woman's worst nightmare. A so-called sugar daddy hit with more charges of drugging and raping women, bringing the total number of alleged victims to 12. I have the disturbing update on Andrew Gallo and what the DA says he was searching online. Welcome to Crime Fix. I'm Anjanette Levy. Andrew Gallo has been in jail
Starting point is 00:00:31 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania since September. The charges he faces are serious and the allegations are really disturbing. When I first told you about the case, the DA said she believed that there were more victims out there. Well, now she says she knows for sure that there are. Back in September, Gallo was charged with drugging six women and raping five of them. Now the number of alleged victims has climbed to 12, with Gallo facing new charges related to allegations he drugged six more women and raped five of them. And we're learning new information about what the DA says Gallo searched on his computer. I'll have more on that later. The DA says Gallo was meeting women
Starting point is 00:01:11 on dating websites. One of them was sugardaddymeet.com. The site bills itself as a sugar daddy dating website and claims to have more than 8.2 million selective members. It asked men, are you a successful, generous man looking for an honest relationship? The site then asked women, are you an attractive, classy woman looking for a mentor? The site claims it's a place for generous men and attractive women looking for honest relationships. But now the DA says there are other sites that Gallo is using, and you'll hear which ones here just in a little bit. Gallo, according to the DA, started contacting women on the Sugar Daddy site in June of last year, and women would go to his house for dates. An affidavit says victim one, who's identified as CV1, went to Gallo's house in Levittown last Christmas Eve. The affidavit says CV1 stated that when she got to Gallo's residence,
Starting point is 00:02:06 it was only her, Gallo, and his dog. CV1 reported that Gallo made her a drink in the kitchen, which she did not witness him making, and she was playing with his dog. CV1 advised that she doesn't drink often, so she was unsure what type of drink he made, but described the drink as having a sugar rim. The affidavit says the woman
Starting point is 00:02:25 claimed she did not sleep that night and felt energetic and cool. She also said that she and Gallo had sex and he choked her so much that her airflow was restricted and she had to tell him to stop. She later had a drug test that she had taken to apply for a job and it came up positive for both meth and cocaine. Here's the DA with much more. He ultimately raped five of the six victims. While sexually assaulting those six victims, he also physically assaulted those victims. He used such force in strangling his victims that some lost consciousness. These victims suffered such ill effects from the drugs that they unknowingly ingested that some reported being up for days.
Starting point is 00:03:09 One said she was up for seven straight days, unable to fall asleep. A number of them sought medical attention due to the severity of the side effects of the drugs that they unknowingly ingested. Some reported experiencing hallucinations and psychosis. Now I'm going to have more on the drugs that the DA says police found in Gallo's house in a bit, but in September she said police executed a search warrant at Gallo's home and actually caught him red-handed. They executed a search warrant not too long ago and clearly the defendant was unaware that they would be arriving at his home and not only did they find an open bottle of alcohol that contained methamphetamine mixed
Starting point is 00:03:52 within but they actually found a victim being victimized when they arrived their work is not done though because we are quite confident there that there are more victims in this case. Another woman identified as CV2 described Gallo giving her a glass of wine in the summer of 2023. And about 45 minutes later, she said she felt like all of her inhibitions were gone. CV2, according to the document, said that Gallo asked her to put on lingerie that he had bought for his ex-girlfriend and that he introduced sex toys into their encounter. The document said that CV2 later asked Gallo if he had drugged her because she hadn't felt that way in the past after drinking wine. Police say the woman told them that Gallo claimed he had forgotten about putting Molly in the bottle of wine, and the DA says there were other drugs found in Gallo's home. Methamphetamine was one of the substances found in his home in that open bottle of tainted liquor. We do believe, though, other substances
Starting point is 00:04:50 such as MDNA, often referred to as molly, and other substances were perhaps administered to these victims. And, you know, obviously this investigation is still unfolding as it relates to that. The DA says a forensic review of Gallo's online search history shows that Gallo was actually searching for pornography of drugged women on his computer. The things that Andrew Gallo is accused of doing are so terrifying. It shows you, you have to do everything you can to ensure you're surrounding yourself with people who are safe. I searched Andrew Gallo on truthfinder.com to see what would come up since it's one of the largest public record search services out there. Some traffic citations came up under the criminal and traffic records section for driving. Something else came up. There was a citation for operating a boat without a registration and providing alcohol to a minor.
Starting point is 00:05:40 Truthfinder will show you possible relative social media accounts, phone numbers, and addresses of the people you search. And another thing that I really love about it, it will even show you the sex offenders who live near you. If you want to try it, you can get 50% off. Just log on to www.truthfinder.com and start accessing information about almost anyone. That's 50% off. I want to bring in Kristen McElroy. She is the chief deputy district attorney for Bucks County. Kristen, tell me about these new charges that you guys have filed against Andrew Gallo. So when the investigation began, just based on
Starting point is 00:06:18 the breadth and the number of women that we initially had making these individual reports, you know, we had a strong belief that there's no way that we had gathered everybody. So we, when those first charges were filed, you know, reached out to the media and asked for help. And we're so appreciative of the help that we got by getting the word out on what we had on him and what we believed was still out there. And so additional women did come forward and we were fortunately able to corroborate their stories enough to file additional charges. So where we started with six victims charged, we are ultimately now at 12. Wow. Wow. And those are just the women that have come forward. Are you concerned now you're up to 12 accusers, victims, alleged victims?
Starting point is 00:07:03 Are you concerned that there are more? Yeah, I mean, it seems hard to believe that we have everybody. You know, there could be people that have heard the news story and have just not been in a position where they felt comfortable coming forward. And, you know, we respect that from women. This is a horrible experience that happened to them. And so it's sort of their decision if they want to come forward. Do I think we have everybody? Probably not. Do we feel good about the brave women that we did have come forward?
Starting point is 00:07:33 We do. And we're really appreciative that they did and they trusted the process. How far back do these allegations go since you have an additional six women coming forward? So in the first batch, I'll call it, they were more recent within like the past two years. When we did the media outreach and additional came forward, we now have one that's going on six years back in 2018. And I know it was meetsugardaddy.com. That was one of the main websites. But now I think that your investigation has evolved and you've had his computers, phones, what have you. You've found additional sites that he may have been using. Is that right? Yes. So especially that woman that came forward from 2018, she was from a different dating website, Plenty of Fish. And I think another one of the women have met him on a
Starting point is 00:08:25 different website as well. So the majority was on that Sugar Daddy Meat website. I think Hinge was another one and Plenty of Fish. So he appears to be on multiple dating apps. And do the women dating back to 2018, the one woman dating back to 2018, I mean, is it all the very similar experience of meeting up with him on the website, going to the house, being drugged, allegedly being choked, that type of thing? Yeah, it's sort of alarming how similar all of these women who don't know each other are making a report from, you know, going to his house, even the types of conversations he would have as like his starting lines, for lack of a better term, are very similar of talking about like showing certain types of photos in the house, giving a tour.
Starting point is 00:09:14 All of these women, again, independent, have come forward with incredibly similar stories about what had happened to them. Hmm. about what had happened to them. You know, 2018, that's six years ago, but this is a guy who's been an adult much longer than that. So, I mean, this could have been going on, maybe not on the internet, and maybe he was meeting women in other circumstances. I don't know, maybe out at bars.
Starting point is 00:09:43 I don't know. I'm just thinking to myself don't know, maybe out at bars. I don't know. I'm just thinking to myself, you know, this doesn't just start, does it? I mean, is this something that you might suspect would be happening for years and years and years? Yeah, I think it's a great point of you don't just magically get here one day with the online dating. So, yes, I think and who knows where it began and what it evolved into, into ultimately being where we're at now with the drugging and then the really violent sexual activity. But, yeah, it seems like, you know, we have a statute of limitations that we're in a box for. But I wouldn't be surprised if there were women who had similar experiences, but possibly not exactly the same of meeting on a website like this. So what's the next step now? Where does the investigation
Starting point is 00:10:32 go from here? I mean, I know he's got a court date in late December. He's been in custody actually since September. And you guys have done an investigation after additional women came forward after the DA put out the call saying, hey, we think there's more. So, I mean, some of this computer stuff takes time. You know, you have to get the warrants back from some of these online dating websites. And we know that some of them are not always cooperative. So, I mean, is there still a lot more investigation that you have to undertake? There is. Even with the 12 that we have come forward, there's some little things that we need to follow up on them. The forensics on the electronics definitely takes time.
Starting point is 00:11:14 You know, I can't totally talk about all of this since the case is still pending, but there are some sort of interesting forensics in this case. And yes, sort of following up with some of the dating websites to see what information they can provide. When the case first started, we had reached out to Sugar Daddy Meat to see if we could get all of his account activity. We weren't able to. After the arrest was made, they did come forward saying that they were willing to be cooperative with law enforcement. So we're hoping that we have all the information from them. But even once you get all the information, it takes time to really read through it, all the messages that he was having with these different women. So, you know, we're fortunate that we have three detectives who are working on the case who
Starting point is 00:11:53 have been really dogged in what they've been looking for. But our work is not done. Are these women who maybe were really vulnerable and turning to this type of thing? Because, I mean, you said it's dating websites, like Plenty of Fish, Hinge, this type of thing because, I mean, you said it's dating websites, like Plenty of Fish, Hinge, that type of thing, but sugar daddy stuff. I mean, that's sex work. So were some of these women looking for an actual date, like a relationship and this happened to them and then others were involved in more like the sex work because they were, you know, in a vulnerable state or position and were trying to make some money. Yeah, so that's an interesting point.
Starting point is 00:12:29 And certainly when I first heard about this website, I wasn't familiar with it prior to this case, though knew that these types of websites existed. The women that have come forward on this site were not in a, or didn't believe they were in a pay to play situation with Andrew Gallo. They were on the website for the most part, not looking to make money, but thinking, hey, I can date a guy who's guaranteed that he's, you know, has some type of assets. I can that's something that's appealing to a woman. But it was not. And this is what they reported and what we confirmed from the message
Starting point is 00:13:05 is not a it'll be three hundred dollars for tonight or things like that. I think the women have been vulnerable, maybe a little bit naive for some of them in some aspects. But I think it is not how it appears when you hear sugar daddy meat. Isn't this just glorified prostitution? I think when you meet and talk to the women, you see it's a little bit different of their understanding of the website. I think it can be that where you have to create the financial arrangement. But I think I mean, some of these women engaged in a relationship with him. And so they were actually drugged and assaulted more than once by him. But it was not like a financial transaction for them. Well, thanks for correcting me on that and clarifying that because, you know,
Starting point is 00:13:45 we've talked about this whole kind of sugar daddy thing before on the show and pertaining to this case and what that actually means. So that's actually incredibly sad that they were looking for, you know, looking for love possibly, or, you know, a companion who they believed was well situated. And this is what they say happened to them and how they ended up. So he's going to be in court at the end of December. He'll enter a plea. And then where does the case go from there? So the end of December is his formal arraignment, which is just sort of its next process, making
Starting point is 00:14:20 sure here's your charges. Do you have an attorney, which he does have? And from there, it'll get scheduled for either a guilty plea or a trial. We're not certain what he's going to choose to do at this point. He did waive the preliminary hearing, meaning none of the women had to testify. They were all present in the courthouse. They were ready to go. Again, we commend them. We know it was, you know, a nerve wracking, intimidating experience, but they were here. And we'll see what he wants to do if he wants to take a trial or plead guilty.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Yeah. And probably preliminary hearing is just, you know, that's a very low bar probable cause that you guys have to establish through witness testimony. So he waived that. So he was basically saying and conceding there's probable cause. So he didn't even you know, he could have exercised that right to that hearing and he didn't. Well, thank you, Kristen McElroy, for coming on. We really appreciate it. And we'll be keeping an eye on this to see where the case goes and if it does indeed go to trial. Great. That sounds great. Thanks for having me.
Starting point is 00:15:22 And that's it for this episode of Crime Fix. I'm Ann Jeanette Levy. Thanks so much for being with me. I'll see you back here next time.
