Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an iHeart Podcast. Crime Alert, I'm Nancy Grace. Breaking crime news now. Brynn Spetcher smokes pot with boyfriend Chad Amelia and has a very bad reaction. She attacks Amelia with a knife, stabbing him dozens of times. Then she also stabs her own dog. When California police arrive, they have to tase Spetcher just to get the knife away. Nancy, Amelia's roommate walked in on the attack and called 911, but Spetcher continued to stab Amelia, and he was dead by the time police arrived. Amelia had been stabbed 108 times.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Experts claim Spetcher had no control over her actions at the time of the attack. Spetcher wrote in a five-page statement that she believed she was dead and had to hurt Amelia, whom she'd only been seeing for a short time, to bring herself back to life. Jurors find Spetcher, 32, guilty of involuntary manslaughter due to pot-induced psychotic disorder. Spetcher now sentenced to just two years probation and 100 hours of community service. Wow, if that's how the judge felt, maybe the judge should take her home. Sean Brown walks in the middle of the road, of course, disturbing traffic. Georgia cops try to talk to Brown. His response is to pull out a badge reading special police.

But he's the one who ends up arrested on charges of impersonating an officer and giving a false name. Gives a whole new meaning to why does the Idgit cross the road. A California man has been found guilty of murder for shooting and killing a six-year-old child traveling in the back of his mother's car on a busy freeway. In the death of Aiden Leos, who was strapped into a booster seat and headed to kindergarten, Orange County jurors have found 26-year-old Marcus Ariz guilty of second-degree murder. He was also found guilty of firing at a moving vehicle that was occupied. Authorities say that on May 21, 2021, Nguyen Le, Ariz's girlfriend, and he were on their way to work when Le cut off
Starting point is 00:02:20 Aiden's mother's car, after which the mother made an offensive gesture. According to the officials, Ariz took out a revolver, reached through the window, and shot Aiden in the heart through the trunk of his mother's car. As officials spent more than two weeks looking for the suspect, the shooting stunned the three million residents of Orange County, which heavily relies on a network of freeways to travel to work and school. Prosecutor Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said of the case in a statement, The heartbreak of a parent losing a child is so overwhelming that no word exists to describe it. He continued, The short, happy life of Aiden Leos is a life interrupted, abruptly ended by a bullet that pierced Aiden's heart. The bullet not only killed a little six-year-old boy, it ripped a hole in the heart of all of Orange County. Sentencing for Ariz is set for April 12th. He's currently being held without bond.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Lee is being tried separately and has entered a not guilty plea to being an accessory after the fact. Now to Nevada as four Las Vegas high school students have entered not guilty pleas to second degree murder in connection with their classmates beating death. Starting point is 00:04:08 Crime Online is not releasing their names. The next court date is scheduled for February 22nd. As of right now, nine students have been taken into custody in relation to the death of 17-year-old Jonathan Lewis Jr. Separate hearings are being awaited by the other students. Ten students, ages 13 to 17, are said to have taken part in the beating that happened after school in an alleyway near Rancho High School, this according to Las Vegas police. The police department has recently announced that a tenth student is still being sought by detectives. The investigators claim that after Lewis was forced to the ground, the 10 suspects started kicking, punching, and stomping on him. Transcripts show that following the altercation, Lewis was taken by a student in a nearby resident to campus, unconscious and in serious condition. Members of the school staff attempted to help him and called 911. It was a week later that Lewis died in an area hospital. In the state of Nevada,
