Tyler Lawrence, visiting his grandparents' Boston home, walks to a local basketball court, but the 13-year-old is gunned down in broad daylight. Boston cops say the boy may have witnessed a drug deal. Four days later, Sean Skirrett, 34, arrested for fentanyl distribution. Crime Online's John Limley. Nancy, authorities have not released details regarding the evidence tying the suspect to the crime, but Skerritt has a lengthy criminal history, including several previous convictions on weapons charges and a murder charge that went to trial in 2017.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Skirrett learns he's also charged with murder one during his arraignment on the federal drug charges. Natalie Jarvis asks a gas station clerk for directions to the local DCFS office, but she's wielding a blowtorch at the time. The clerk calls police. Jarvis spotted driving a repurposed school bus but refuses to stop for the cops. The resulting police chase ends with the bus crashing into an elementary school. Jarvis was reportedly living in the school bus, which is spray-painted to read sex trafficking awareness. At the time of the incident, authorities have not determined why Jarvis was looking for the DCFS office or her intentions with the blowtorch. Thankfully, Nancy, no one was injured in the crash. Jarvis, 37, arrested. The blowtorch seized.

Now with the latest crime and justice breaking news, Crime Online's John Limley. Police in Louisiana's capital city have arrested two people for a mass shooting that left 12 others wounded at a nightclub in January. Two 19-year-olds, Nikhil Franklin and Jasawn Jackson, were arrested by Baton Rouge police.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Franklin was charged with 12 counts of attempted first-degree murder, while Jackson was charged with 12 counts of principal to attempted first-degree murder. On January 22nd, shots rang out around 1.30 a.m. in the Dior Bar and Lounge in Baton Rouge. A dozen people were injured, and most sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Three victims were initially listed in critical condition, but their conditions later improved. Police say they believe the shooting was not a random act of violence and that it was targeted. A Texas man has been convicted of capital murder in the fatal shooting of three teenagers by the man's then 14-year-old son.
Starting point is 00:02:52 With more, here's Sydney Sumner with Crime Online. 34-year-old Richard Acosta was convicted by a jury in Dallas of capital murder for the 2021 shooting deaths of 14-year-old Xavier Gonzalez, 16-year-old Ivan Noyala, and 17-year-old Rafael Garcia the day after Christmas. A 15-year-old newly hired cook was also injured in the shooting and has since recovered. Acosta testified that he did not know his son, Abel Acosta, had a gun or had shot anyone, only that the teenager got into his vehicle and told his father to drive away because someone was shooting. Abel Acosta disappeared shortly after the shooting and
Starting point is 00:03:30 authorities say he remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. A jury is considering whether an Islamic extremist who killed eight people on a New York City bike path should get a death sentence, an extraordinarily rare penalty in a state that hasn't seen an execution in 60 years. 35-year-old Saifullah Saipab was convicted last month in the 2017 attack in which he intentionally drove a truck at high speed down a path along the Hudson River, mowing down bicyclists on a sunny morning hours before the city's Halloween celebrations. The same jury that found Saipov guilty has returned to work, hearing from additional witnesses in the trial's penalty phase. Anything less than a unanimous vote for death will mean
Starting point is 00:04:17 Saipov will spend the rest of his life in prison. Saipov's lawyers hope to convince jurors that a life term is punishment enough for the attack that killed five friends from Argentina, a woman from Belgium, and two Americans. A St. Paul, Minnesota man has been convicted of shooting and killing his wife nearly 13 years ago. Once again, Crime Online's Sydney Sumner. 39-year-old Nicholas Furcus was convicted of first-degree murder and second-degree murder in the April 25, 2010 death of his wife, Heidi Furcus. Furcus had argued that his wife was shot accidentally while he struggled with a burglar during a home invasion. Prosecutors allege Furcus shot his wife because he was ashamed
Starting point is 00:05:01 that he had not told her about their financial troubles, including $18,000 in credit card debt and 22 months of late mortgage payments. The couple was to be evicted the next day. The case went cold until 2019 when St. Paul police reopened the investigation and asked the FBI for help. With new evidence, Furcus was charged in 2021. Furcus, who did not testify at the trial, will be sentenced April 13th. Florida cops execute a search warrant at Timothy Holt's home and find over a kilo of meth.
Starting point is 00:05:35 When Holt realizes he's going to be arrested, the 49-year-old admits he's hiding more drugs between his cheeks. I'm not talking about the ones on his face.
