Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an iHeart Podcast. Crime Alert, I'm Nancy Grace. Breaking crime news now. Muhammad Chiduri divorces his wife. She gets custody of the two children. Angry he can't see them, Chiduri wants to take his wife out of the picture. He tries to enlist someone to murder his ex-wife and her boyfriend, offering $4,000 for each kill. An undercover agent, of course, takes on the assignment. Chowdhury gives him a deposit, the soon-to-be victim's work schedules, and requests the murders be staged as a robbery. Law enforcement received a tip from an
Starting point is 00:00:42 informant that Chowdhury was looking for assistance in murdering his ex-wife, but had actually already paid someone to commit the crime. That individual took the money without following through. Chowdhury told the informant he needed the murders carried out as soon as possible and would even rob a store for more money to pay for it. Muhammad Chowdhury, 47, sentenced to eight years behind bars for murder for hire plot. Pennsylvania police flip on the red and blue lights for a Ford Explorer following another car way too closely. Behind the wheel, Wadale Thomas, extremely nervous and his hands visibly shaking when he speaks to the cops. He refuses consent to a search, so a drug-sniffing dog is brought to the scene and he hits. Inside, police find 25,000 stamp bags of heroin. Waddell Thomas,

A former security guard at a grocery store gas station in Memphis, Tennessee has been found guilty of first-degree murder after shooting an unarmed black man following an argument about loud music. Here's Sydney Sumner with Crime Online. Various news sources are reporting that a jury found 57-year-old Gregory Livingston guilty of killing 48-year-old Alvin Motley Jr. in August 2021 while the victim was visiting Memphis from Chicago. The two got into a fight at a Kroger gas station. Chris Kraft, the criminal court judge, subsequently handed Livingston a life sentence behind bars.
Starting point is 00:02:26 Prosecutors revealed in court filings that Livingston, a white man, approached Motley, a black passenger in a car, and the two engaged in a steadily escalating argument about loud music coming from the vehicle. During the disagreement, Motley approached Livingston while carrying a beer and a cigarette, suggesting they talk about the issue, quote, like men. Pulling out his gun, Livingston fired at Motley once in the chest. The victim died at the scene. Livingston's attorneys maintained throughout the trial that their client acted in self-defense. Court documents state that a motion for a new trial has already been filed. After Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich recused herself due to an investigator in her office having an off-duty position with the
Starting point is 00:03:04 security company that employed Livingston, the case was taken over by Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk's office. Livingston was formerly employed as a Horn Lake, Mississippi police officer. According to Motley's sister, her brother aspired to be an actor, performer, and a radio host. A 79-year-old man from Missouri is charged with killing a woman in her suburban Chicago home almost 60 years ago. Once more, we turn to Sydney Sumner with Crime Online. James Barbier has now been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the November 1966 killing of 18-year-old Karen Snyder in Cook County, Illinois. He was taken into custody at his home in St. Louis County.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Our friends with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch are reporting that a breakthrough in the case occurred in December of 2022. That's when the newspaper says authorities sent blood samples to a lab and reopened the cold case. Barbier's blood matched the sample. He was extradited to Cook County after being apprehended. Barbier was later released, according to the state's attorney's office, since prosecutors decided not to pursue a jail sentence for him due to his advanced age and, quote, physical infirmity. However, he was forced to surrender his passport and his guns and is not allowed to leave Missouri or Illinois. Prosecutors stated in court filings that Snyder's husband, Paul, discovered his wife dead on the evening of November 12, 1966, following a late-night return to their home in Calumet City, Illinois.
Starting point is 00:04:30 The couple's two-month-old daughter was found unharmed in her crib. The medical examiner reported that about 125 stab wounds were inflicted on Karen Snyder. Barbier, a railroad yard worker who worked with Paul Snyder, was arrested in 1966 but was never charged in the case. Barbigay's next court hearing is scheduled for May 21st. Thanks, John. Krista Daniel is mourning the loss of her beloved husband who had passed away just a month before. Krista briefly leaving their five children at their Detroit home to run errands, the last of which is picking up money owed by a family friend. Krista walks a few blocks to Olar's party store to meet the friend and plans to head back home. She never makes it. Detroit's 11th Precinct searches for Krista on
Starting point is 00:05:19 surveillance footage and reviews surveillance footage in the area. She's seen crossing 8 Mile Road back toward her home on Hawthorne. Cops believe Krista may have been attacked and forced into a car. No one has seen or heard from her since. Krista Daniel now missing four years.
