Ann Martinez calls Flagstaff, Arizona police when she finds her younger grandson dead.
Deshawn Martinez, 6, unresponsive, and he only weighs 18 pounds at age 6.
Parents Elizabeth Archibald and Anthony Martinez say Deshaun got sick and lost weight.
But it's later discovered Deshaun and his seven-year-old brother are locked in a closet
16 hours a day without food. Nancy, the average six-year-old, weighs more than double that at 45
pounds. Grandmother Ann Martinez is also facing trial on several child abuse charges stemming from
punishing the boys by hitting them with a coat hanger. Anthony Martinez admitted to police he
would sit outside the door of the closet while he played video games to ensure the boys did not
escape. Mom, if you can call her that, Elizabeth Archibald, 29, pleads guilty to murder and child
abuse as she should. Dad, Anthony Martinez, 28, found guilty of murder,

Now with the latest Crime and Justice breaking news, Crime Online's John Limley.
We begin in Arkansas as a man accused of a deadly mass shooting at a grocery store has pleaded not
guilty to multiple charges. For more, we turn to Sydney Sumner with Crime Online.
44-year-old Travis Eugene Posey appeared in court for the first time and entered his plea on Tuesday.
He faces four counts of capital murder and ten counts of attempted capital murder.
The shooting, which occurred at the Mad Butcher grocery store, left four people dead and ten others injured, including two police officers.
Posey was injured
by police gunfire during the incident. Authorities have not yet determined a motive for the attack
and say Posey did not have personal connections to his victims. Greg Parrish, representing Posey
through the Arkansas Public Defender Commission, addressed the court briefly on Posey's behalf.
According to our friends with the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Posey confirmed that Parrish
had explained the charges to him during the hearing.
The case continues to unfold as investigators work to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic events at the grocery store.
Authorities revealed chilling details about the tragic shooting in Fort Ice, Arkansas, as they described the events that unfolded last Friday.
Travis Eugene Posey, armed with a 12-gauge shotgun, a pistol, and a bandolier filled with
extra shotgun rounds, opened fire in a horrifying display of violence. According to police reports,
Posey discharged most, if not all, of his rounds from the shotgun. The rampage began in the grocery
store's parking lot, where Posey fired indiscriminately at bystanders before continuing
his assault inside the Mad Butcher store. There, he continued to shoot at customers and employees indiscriminately, causing multiple casualties.
Officials discovered shooting victims both inside the store and scattered throughout the parking lot,
underscoring the chaotic and deadly nature of the attack.
The midday shooting shook the quiet community of Fort Ice,
a city with a population of about 3,200, located approximately 65 miles south of Little Rock.
The judge has ordered Posey to be held without bond and has not yet scheduled his next court appearance.
Now to a story unfolding in Los Angeles, where a woman has pleaded guilty to the murder of Michael Latt,
a prominent consultant in the entertainment industry and an advocate for social justice.
Once again, Crime Online, Sidney Sumner.
36-year-old Jamila Elena Michael admitted to committing first-degree murder
and first-degree burglary,
along with using a firearm during the attack.
There was a mourning across Hollywood
following the death of Michael Latt
in November of 2023.
Known for his work as a consultant
focusing on social impact in film and entertainment,
Latt collaborated with notable directors
such as
Ava DuVernay of the film Selma and Ryan Coogler of Black Panther. According to court records and
law enforcement, Michael allegedly knocked on Latt's door at his Los Angeles residence and
forced her way inside, fatally shooting him with a semi-automatic handgun. Latt died of his injuries
after being transported to a nearby hospital. Prosecutors asserted that Michael had been
stalking and threatening director A.V. Rockwell,
prompting several restraining orders against her.
Police reports and court documents indicate Michael targeted Latt due to his association with Rockwell.
Prosecutors say Michael faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole for 25 years.
Sentencing is set for July 10th.
Thanks, John.
