Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an iHeart Podcast. Crime Alert, I'm Nancy Grace. Breaking crime news now, Darren Gingrich threatens a teen girl, then shows up at the high school party she's attending and forces her to leave with him. Gingrich then takes the teen's cell phone and drives her to a remote area. Afraid, the girl tries to get out of the car, but Gingrich pulls a gun and threatens to kill her if she leaves. He eventually takes the teen home. She goes straight to Delaware cops.
Starting point is 00:00:29 Nancy, authorities have not reported how Gingrich knew the teen, but when she spoke to police about the kidnapping, she revealed Gingrich sexually abused her for the better part of a decade, beginning when she was eight years old. In a bizarre coincidence, cops and firefighters were already at Gingrich's home while the girl was speaking with the police because he had set it on fire. Gingrich, 52, charged with menacing and kidnapping and sex abuse. A Florida farmer calls cops after he notices the woman in a formal dress driving his neighbor's tractor. Cops get the woman to exit the giant John Deere and find she's been burgling nearby homes and has quite a stash. Among the stolen items, a set of bed sheets, a pair of jeans, waiting boots, toiletries,
Starting point is 00:01:12 packages of frozen deer meat, a bottle of wine, a stolen social security card and credit cards. The woman, also armed with a five-inch knife, she kicks and screams at deputies as they load her into a patrol car. The woman only identified as Jamie, now facing 35 felonies, including burglary and grand theft. Note to self, don't try a getaway in a John Deere tractor. More crime and justice news after this.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Now with the latest crime and justice breaking news, Crime Online's John Lindley. A man found guilty of plowing his car into a crowd of people attending a fundraiser in Pennsylvania last summer, killing one person and wounding 19 others before returning home and fatally beating his mother has been given a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Sidney Sumner with Crime Online. In Columbia County Court, President Judge Gary Norton sentenced 25-year-old Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes to two life terms in connection with the two deaths. In handing down his decision, Norton stated that the crimes, quote,
Starting point is 00:02:18 were the result of pure evil. On 19 charges of attempted homicide, Norton also imposed an additional sentence of 123 to 380 years. Authorities say Suda Reyes stated to detectives that he was driving in Berwick on August 13th following an argument with his mother because he was, quote, tired of fighting with his mother, including about money, and wanted to be done with it. Suda Reyes told the police that after driving past a group of people gathered outside a bar for a fundraiser, he turned around and went back to the bar, quote, to drive through the crowd of people. 19 people were hurt, four of them badly. 50-year-old Rebecca Reese was killed. Police say Suda Reyes told them he then returned to his home and saw his 56-year-old
Starting point is 00:03:01 mother, Rosa Reyes, in the street. He struck her with his vehicle and then beat her several times with a hammer. The prosecution initially sought the death penalty, but dropped that plan after Suarez consented to plead guilty to all charges in June. The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office has announced that an autopsy found no reason to suspect foul play in the death of a man awaiting trial on murder charges and the death of his mother in order to inherit millions of dollars. On June 15, 29-year-old Nathan Carman of Vermont was found dead in his cell in a county jail in New Hampshire. The Attorney General's Office says it withholds the cause in matter of non-suspicious deaths. According to the U.S.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Marshal Service in Vermont, the family has requested that they not release the cause of Carmen's death. Carmen was due to go on trial in October after entering a not-guilty plea to charges of fraud and first-degree murder in the 2016 death of his mother, Linda Carmen. Following his initial court appearance, a man suspected of killing three people in a West Las Vegas apartment is still being held without bond. Once again, Crime Online's Sydney Sumner. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, 30-year-old Spencer McDonald faces three charges of murder and one count of attempted murder. Police say when officers arrived at the scene, they found a 50-year-old maintenance worker bleeding from non-life-threatening stab wounds to his head. The man reported that the suspect had attacked him in the courtyard of
Starting point is 00:04:29 the apartment building behind the leasing office. McDonald was detained by police when they discovered a weapon resembling a sledgehammer in his possession. Two of the victims lived in an apartment at the complex and may have known the suspect. Investigators have so far found no clear indication of a possible motive for the killings. The names of the victims haven't been yet released by Clark County authorities. Seven-year-old Patrick Alford and his little sister placed in foster care while mom finds a suitable home for the family in New York City. Three weeks later, Patrick, not adjusting well, says he wants to run away and find Mommy. Patrick's foster mom gets distracted by a phone call while Patrick helps her take out trash.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Moments later, Patrick disappears. Police use canines to track Alfred, but they lose his scent after just a few blocks. Police knock on 9,000 doors, interview 14,000 people, and search over 200 buildings. No sign of Patrick. Patrick Alford, now 20, has never been found.
