Crime Alert, I'm Nancy Grace, breaking crime news now.
Christopher Chase shoots his father dead after an argument.
Chase's mom watches it all, but instead of calling police, she helps Chase dismember the body,
putting pieces in a 55-gallon drum.
While mom stays home cleaning up the mess, Chase takes the drum to a vacant home and
sets it on fire. A neighbor calls firefighters who spot Chase at the scene, but he gets away.
Nancy, Chase runs about a block from the fire before breaking into a home and holding a family
of three at gunpoint. Chase demands the keys to their car, but seems to change his mind about
running and calls 911 to turn himself in. The family was not hurt. Authorities have not determined
what the father and son were fighting over that led to the shooting and are still investigating.
Christopher Chase, 32, now charged with murder, kidnap, ag assault. Mother, Melissa Chase, 56,
facing tampering with evidence. A woman waits inside the family truck while her husband loads
groceries. Then Yamila Laborde hops in the driver's seat, tells

can't get the truck in gear and is arrested on attempted theft. Laborde released that very
afternoon. Just four hours later, hops into an unlocked car at a public library and drives off.
Cops catch her just a few miles away
and haul her back to jail
on theft.
Again.
Maybe she'll take
driver's ed this time
behind bars.
More crime and justice
news after this.
Now with the latest
crime and justice
breaking news,
Crime Online's
John Limley.
A Nevada woman
who admitted to hiring
a hitman on the internet for $5,000 in Bitcoin to kill her ex-husband has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Her goal in committing the crime? Make it look like an accident.
With more, here's Sydney Sumner with Crime Online.
Court records reveal that 38-year-old Christy Lynn Falcons of Fallon, Nevada, pleaded guilty in March to a charge of murder for hire as part of a deal with federal prosecutors that avoided trial. A U.S. District Court judge
in California has now ordered that Falcons be released under supervision for three years after
she serves her prison sentence. According to her September 2020 indictment, Falcons started
corresponding with someone in 2016 after finding them on a dark web hitman website that advertised
murder for
higher services. The indictment states that Falcons sought to have her ex-husband killed
while he was traveling through Chico, California. Authorities claim that the website was a hoax that
only served to rob unsuspecting customers of their money. As part of her plea agreement,
Falcons stated that she offered to pay an additional $4,000 to expedite the murder
plot's timeline in March 2016.
Falcons, who has been out of custody, was told to turn herself in in order to start
serving her prison term in September. A ninth teenager has entered a guilty plea in a shooting
outside an Iowa high school that left a 15-year-old boy dead and two females critically injured.
According to the Des Moines Register, 16-year-old
Nyang Shamdual stated in court that admitting guilt to first-degree murder was, quote,
right for the victim's family. The shooting involving the then 14-year-old Shamdual took
place in March 2022 on the grounds of East High School close to downtown Des Moines.
The victim, 15-year-old Jose David Lopez, was not a student
at the school. Police reported that numerous shooters fired rounds from different vehicles
outside the school. Shamdual acknowledged being one of those shooters at the hearing.
Ten teens were accused of taking part in the shooting. In December, a judge sent Shamdual's
case to adult criminal court on the grounds that he should be given, quote,
youthful offender status.
That indicates that although his case is being heard in adult court,
the juvenile court will be the one deciding his sentencing.
A mistrial has been declared due to a deadlocked jury in the South Florida case against rapper YNF Melly
for the alleged 2005 murders of two of his friends.
Once again, Crime Online's Sydney Sumner. After three days of deliberation, the 12-member panel
was unable to agree on a decision. Prosecutors in Broward County who had originally requested
the death penalty will likely decide to retry the case in front of a fresh jury. To find a
defendant guilty or innocent, the jury must reach a unanimous decision. When the jury announced they were deadlocked, Broward Circuit Judge John
Murphy twice ordered them to continue debating, but gave in after they returned a third time.
According to the prosecution, YNW Melly, whose legal name is Jamel Dimmons,
shot Christopher Thomas Jr. and Anthony Williams, who were all in a Jeep.
Williams and Thomas belonged to the YNW
Collective, which went by the names YNW Sack Chaser and YNW Juvie, respectively. Defense
lawyers argued that the story lacks credibility because Dimmons and the victims were close
friends, despite the prosecution's assertion that the shooting was a gang-related incident.
After making a name for himself in 2017, YNW Melly collaborated with Kanye West on Mixed Personalities,
released in January 2013, a month before 24-year-old DeMond's was taken into custody
on murder accusations. Jordan Boone decides to take his dog Lily in a brand new van from Salt
Lake City to the San Rafael Swell for a camping trip. One day in, Boone's van gets stuck due to flooding,
and a couple offers to take Boone and Lily back to Huntington, Utah.
Over the next few days, there are several sightings of Boone,
diagnosed with bipolar disorder, having what appears to be a manic episode.
Boone trashes a hotel room, steals a garbage truck,
and breaks into a building looking for water.
The last time someone sees even a sign of Boone, the dog Lily is alone on a nature trail.
Nearly two years after Boone's disappearance, a man hiking at the swell finds Boone's guitar,
some of his clothes, and a backpack. Boone's family hopes this discovery will bring them one step closer to finding Boone.
If you have info on Jordan Boone, please call Salt Lake PD, 801-799-3454.
