Witchian Huang, 44, attacks her wife, Chen Chen Fei, 47, with a samurai sword after an argument in their California home. Huang, covered in cuts and lacerations, seen holding the sword and walking in the street. An officer sees Huang and she drops the sword. Fei's mother was also attacked by Huang, but managed to flee and seek help. Officers discover Chen Chen Fei dead at the scene, her mother in stable condition at a local hospital. Nancy, at some point during the attack, Faye's mother managed to gain control of the sword and flee the scene in search of help. Neighbors are shocked by the violence,
Starting point is 00:00:49 saying that the three women who share the home were quiet people who they rarely saw other than checking mail and taking out trash. While the attack is still under investigation, we have not learned what drove Wong to murder. Witch and Huang arrested and booked for murder. During a traffic stop, Florida police noticed the passenger, Lauren Riley, trying to hide drug paraphernalia on the floorboard. They search her purse and find a plastic baggie labeled Bag of Drugs. Okay. Inside the plastic bag is a needle, straws, a metal spoon, four glass pipes, and several smaller bags containing cocaine, meth, and Xanax. Lauren Riley, 41, now charged with multiple drug offenses.

At this hour, significant developments regarding Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind behind the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States. Let's bring in Sydney Sumner of Crime Online for the latest. The Defense Department has now announced that Muhammad has agreed to plead guilty. This marks a potential resolution to a case that has spanned more than two decades and profoundly impacted the U.S. and the Middle East. Muhammad, along with two accomplices, Walid bin Atash and
Starting point is 00:02:21 Mustafa Al-Hawazi, are expected to enter their pleas at the military commission in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Defense lawyers have requested life sentences for the men in exchange for their guilty pleas, as outlined in letters received by some families of the nearly 3,000 victims of the 9-11 attacks. Terry Strada, head of a group representing some of the victims' families, highlighted the long wait for justice and the loss of many relatives who had hoped to see this day. Pentagon officials have yet to disclose the full terms of the plea agreements. The resolution comes more than 16 years after the prosecution of these men began and over 20 years since the tragic day when Al-Qaeda militants hijacked four commercial airliners. These planes were used as weapons, striking the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon. A fourth plane, intended for Washington, D.C., crashed into a Pennsylvania

Bush termed the War on Terror, leading to military invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq and extended operations against extremist groups in the Middle East. The consequences included the toppling of two regimes, widespread devastation in affected regions, and an influence on the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings. Domestically, the attacks ushered in an era of increased militarism and nationalism in American society. U.S. authorities identified Mohammed as the originator of the plan to use the planes as weapons, a strategy approved by al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who was killed

Mohammed was captured in 2003 and endured extensive waterboarding and other forms of torture during his detention by the CIA before being transferred to Guantanamo Bay. Thanks, John.
