Crime Alert, I'm Nancy Grace.
Breaking crime news now.
Ohio cops respond to a call about squatters in a home.
When they get there, three people on the property.
Two surrender, a third wearing only underwear runs,
wading out into a pond.
An officer managed to grab a hold of Richard Turner.
The two struggle, and Turner holds the officer underwater until he nearly drowns,
getting away while the officer is passed out.
Nancy, Turner entered the pond to avoid being tased.
During the struggle with the officer, Turner took his radio so he could not call for help.
The officer was rushed to the hospital when he was discovered and released in good condition hours later.
Cops arrested Berdine Cole and Tamara
Clifton on scene for breaking and entering and began a manhunt for Turner that spanned two days.
Turner returns to the home to gather his belongings and is arrested on attempted
aggravated murder, assault on a cop, and breaking and entering. A New York golfer accidentally
strikes a Canadian goose with a ball and takes it upon himself to, quote, put it out of its misery.
He takes a club and strikes the goose over and over,
stopping briefly to notice the goose is still moving, then continues beating it.
A vet who examined the bird's remains say the goose was uninjured by the golf ball.
That golfer now charged with torturing animals.
More crime and justice news after this.
Now for the latest crime and justice breaking news,
Crime Online's John Limley.
We begin in central Indiana
as a jury finds a man guilty of three charges of murder
in connection with the execution-style killings
of three individuals in 2021.
For more, we turn to Sydney Sumner with Crime Online.
In addition to being found guilty of the three murders,
42-year-old Chad Grimball of Thorntown, Indiana,
was also found guilty of firearms offenses.
The victims in the case were 42-year-old Larry Stogsdale
and his son, 20-year-old Brannon Martin,
along with Grace Bishop, Martin's 19-year-old girlfriend.
Authorities claim the killings were the product of a long-running dispute between one of the
victims and a friend of the defendant. All three were from the city of Lebanon, Indiana.
It was on September 8, 2021, that officers responded to a tip that three people may have
died and discovered their bodies at a Lebanon apartment. All three of the deceased had been
shot in the head. According to a probable cause affidavit, the murders took place during a dispute between one of the victims and a
friend of Grimball. Grimball represented himself during the trial. Sentencing is set for September
26th. Grimball is currently behind bars for a separate crime that he committed prior to the
killings. According to Oklahoma authorities, a 15-year-old boy has been detained in connection
with the shooting death of a 16-year-old at a high school football game. Oklahoma County Sheriff
Tommy Johnson says that deputies working with various law enforcement organizations successfully
apprehended the teen in Spencer, a suburb of Oklahoma City. The suspect's identity is being
withheld because he's a minor. Although no other
suspects are being sought, according to Choctaw Police Chief Kelly Marshall, the investigation
is still ongoing. Marshall says that an altercation between two males at the game preceded the
shooting, although she wasn't sure of the nature of the fight. A 42-year-old man was hospitalized
in intensive care with a gunshot wound to the chest, while a 15-year-old man was hospitalized in intensive care with a gunshot
wound to the chest, while a 15-year-old girl was shot in the leg. Meanwhile, the sheriff's office
is also looking into a shot fired during the incident by one of two off-duty police officers
who were providing security for the Dell City football team during the game just east of
Oklahoma City in the town of Choctaw. Now to Missouri,
where a state lawmaker has proposed allowing exceptions to the state's nearly complete ban
on abortion in situations of rape, incest, and fatal defects. Once again, Crime Online's Sidney
Sumner. When a fetus would be regarded as viable under the plan is not immediately clear. Jamie
Corley, a resident of St.
Louis, suggested the constitutional amendment allowing the exceptions. Another choice would
permit abortions up until viability. However, it's unclear at what point a fetus would reach
that status under the proposal. Nearly all abortions are prohibited in Missouri. Only
serious medical situations will be an exception. Another group of activists has been pushing for the Missouri Constitution to include such rights as the ones included in the recent
proposal. This older endeavor has been involved in legal disputes and conflict with the Secretary
of State and Attorney General. Following last year's decision by the Supreme Court to overturn
Roe v. Wade and eliminate nationally the right to an abortion, Missouri is one of many states
looking to the electorate for help. Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, six states have had the topic on
their ballots. The pro-abortion side won in each of them, including Kansas and Kentucky.
Meanwhile, only a month after it began, a pro-abortion initiative petition in Oklahoma
was withdrawn. Terrence Collier goes by his dad's Nebraska Senior Living Facility to visit
and learns Levi Blake left the home on foot that afternoon and never came back.
The 80-year-old diagnosed with dementia and takes several other meds as well.
Blake's family especially worried because of the extreme heat in Omaha.
Residents tell Collier Blake was heading east when he left
and told them he was taking a
walk. Blake now missing over two weeks. If you have info on Levi Blake, contact Omaha PD 402-444-5600.
