Crime Alert, I'm Nancy Grace, breaking crime news now. 16-year-old twins tell cops they've been handcuffed and left alone inside their Texas home. Once the twins are identified, cops realize their mother and five other siblings are missing. And mom, Zakiya Duncan, has a previous arrest for child cruelty. Nancy, the teen boy and girl who alerted police were malnourished and bruised. They couldn't even recognize the outside of the home. An Amber Alert was issued for the missing siblings who range in age from 7 to 14. The other siblings found safe in Louisiana. 40-year-old mom Duncan
Starting point is 00:00:47 and 27-year-old boyfriend Joe Vitero charged with first-degree injury to a child. Florida deputy sees Glenn Ressler suspended driver's license during a traffic stop. The 42-year-old gets so mad he's ready for war. Someone tips off cops to the threats and officers go to Ressler's home. A deputy using night vision spots Ressler approaching, wearing a tactical vest and armed with four guns. That's right. Photos released by the sheriff's office show high-powered rifles with scopes, assault-style weapons, two handguns, and even extra ammunition.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Wrestlers are now facing ag assault on law enforcement. A woman walking her dog in L.A. injured in an unprovoked attack. 23-year-old Eric Herrera stabs the woman and her dog with a samurai sword killing the dog. Yes, multiple calls came into 911 centers after witnesses see Herrera walking in the middle of the street holding a sword. Police find the victim with several cuts to her arm. Officials applied a tourniquet at the scene to stop the bleeding. Herrera arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. More crime and justice news on the way. A Kentucky man has been charged in the 1994 rape and murder of a northwestern Indiana woman found strangled to death inside her home with
Starting point is 00:02:26 an electrical cord. Sixty-year-old Gerald L. Smith of Madisonville, Kentucky, is charged with rape, murder, and murder while committing or attempting to commit rape in the killing of 69-year-old Gloria Hansel. Our friends at the Northwest Indiana Times say Smith was charged after investigators with the FBI's Gang Response Investigation Team submitted evidence to a laboratory and learned Smith was a likely contributor to DNA found in Hansel's sexual assault kit. A teen boy held over 36 hours by kidnappers who demand ransom from the boy's parents.
Starting point is 00:03:06 The teen was snatched at gunpoint from his job at a Philly Olive Garden. Nancy, $500,000 was the amount demanded for the boy's safe return. The victim was counting tips while sitting in his car when three men blindfolded him and forced him to spend the night in a cardboard box. The victim tells police that he heard the men on the phone with someone who said they should start cutting off his fingers if the parents did not pay. Cops tracked down the kidnappers, one of them killed in a shootout with cops. Eduardo Prado, 39, and Jose Ochoa, 32, sentenced to 40 years on kidnapping.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Authorities have seized thousands of suspected fentanyl pills hidden in candy boxes at Los Angeles International Airport. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says someone tried to go through security screening with some snacks and bags of candy. About 12,000 pills were seized by sheriff's detectives and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents assigned to a drug task force at the airport. Law enforcement officials say the suspected trafficker fled but has been identified. The identity of the suspect is not being released to the public at this time. Authorities have recently warned that drug dealers have been disguising fentanyl in candy wrappers
Starting point is 00:04:32 and manufacturing them in rainbow colors. Now to Mississippi, where five former workers at a daycare in the city of Hamilton are facing criminal charges. This after video emerged of workers terrorizing children. Four women, all in their 20s, have been charged with felony child abuse after video surfaced showing them wearing a ghost mask as terrified children shriek and cry. Monroe County Sheriff John Crook. We started looking into the case to see, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:03 what facts there were out there to corroborate the video and kind of where that might lead them to pursue criminal charges. A fifth worker is charged with misdemeanor assault and failing to report the abuse. Just the attention that's, you know, that's been given to this at this point might keep something like this from happening. There are people who look into what's going on, you know, in their daycare facilities. 55-year-old Rory Woods comes home to find sheriff deputies evicting her. Needless to say, she's not happy. In fact, she's so unhappy, she releases bees from beehives on her trailer. That makes the bees unhappy. That makes the deputies who were getting stung unhappy, and that makes Woods happy, because she donned a professional beekeeper suit to keep from being stung. Woods eventually arrested on assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.
