I'm Sidney, a major shift in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy as her defense.
Attorney signals he is open to a potential plea deal. The announcement comes after Judge William
Sullivan declared a mistrial following a reported 11-to-1 jury stalemate. Clancy 36 faces three counts
of first-degree murder in the January 23 strangulation deaths of her three young children,
Cora, Dawson, and Callan, all under the age of six who were found at the family's home.
Defense Attorney Kevin Reddington appeared on Good Morning America, expressing hope that Plymouth
County District Attorney Tim Cruz will revisit the case and negotiate a resolution acceptable to
both sides. I'm willing to listen to Tim. I've known Tim for 30 years. He's a very hard-charging
prosecutor, conservative gentleman. I hope, however, after sitting through this trial and seeing
the evidence that was presented from the government as well as from the defense that he would
revisit that issue and hopefully would be able to work something out that would be
acceptable to both sides.
Reddington's diplomatic tone on Good Morning America is a notable shift from earlier statements.
Just days prior, Redington claimed prosecutors had zero interest in plea bargaining,
quoting DA Cruz as wanting only triple homicide convictions and consecutive life sentences,
even daring prosecutors to bring it for a retrial.
Redington had even made a direct appeal to President Donald Trump for a presidential pardon,
though Trump holds no legal authority to pardoned state.
level offenses. Reddington also walked back prior harsh comments aimed at the loan holdout juror
whom he had previously accused of robbing the court of time, explaining his initial frustration
on Good Morning America. What I was upset about was after that lengthy trial and the work that
everyone put into this case, including these jurors that spent literally almost two months away from
their home, their job, their family, where a gentleman had an opinion, not that he was,
was sticking like, you know, the movie 12 Angry Men, but in fact, he had agreed, according to
the note from the four lady, that he had doubt, but he would not apply the law of reasonable
doubt as presented by the judge. That's not right, and that's why I was upset.
Meanwhile, Patrick Clancy's attorney, Howard Cooper, released a scathing statement, warning that
law enforcement has been notified regarding a relentless, escalating.
defamation campaign targeting Patrick and his family. Cooper accused minor celebrities,
social media influencers, and conspiracy theorists of publishing vile falsehoods claiming Patrick
was involved in his children's deaths just to boost their own online profile and potential profit.
While District Attorney Cruz has not yet indicated whether he will retry Lindsay Clancy,
Judge Sullivan has scheduled a status hearing for September 29th. More Crime and Justice News after this.

In Ohio, an investigation is underway after a man armed with two handguns and a taser
lunged at Democratic nominee for Governor Dr. Amy Acton during the Canfield Fair.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that troopers with their executive protection unit intercepted 38-year-old Patrick Havas as he forced his way through a crowd toward the 60-year-old candidate.
Havas knocked over several fairgoers, including two elderly attendees who were treated at the scene.
Havas was turned over to fair police and sheriff's deputies before being booked into the Mahoning County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct and two counts of assault.
Acton's campaign, Republican Governor Mike DeWine, and her political opponent, Vivek Ramoswamy,
all released statements condemning the political violence, emphasizing that voters and political candidates must
remain safe. In Nashville, Tennessee, a 55-year-old Frito-Lay employee was killed in a freak
shooting while working the overnight shift at a local Sam's Club on Antioch Pike.
Shortly after 4 in the morning, Paris Carlock of Murfreesboro was conducting a product inventory
in the chip aisle when a bullet fired outside, pierced an exterior metal wall and struck him in the
head. Co-workers attempted life-saving measures, but Carlock was pronounced dead after being rushed to a
local hospital. Investigators believe the gunfire stemmed from an argument inside the nearby Lavo
lounge that spilled into the street as vehicles fled the area. Carlock's daughter, Kayla, spoke to Fox 17,
revealing she was traveling to Nashville so her father could meet his six-week-old grandson for the very first time.
To me, he is like my best friend. Like we talk every day.
I was coming down here this weekend. So me, I let my son meet him.
Kayla pleaded with those responsible for the senseless gunfire to turn themselves in,
emphasizing that they completely broke their family.
They can really need to turn themselves in and just know that
they completely broke our family, especially of the person who it was that was the closest to all of us.
She described her father as a humble, beloved worker whose colleagues were always happy to see him.
Normally when I'm on a phone with him, that sometimes there's like workers in the background talking to him and always like happy to see him.
He is a very humble man. He meant to work to everyone.
Both Sam's Club and PepsiCo issued statements offering condolences
as Metro Nashville police urge anyone with information on the shooting or fleeing vehicles
to contact investigators immediately.
