Sean “Diddy” Combs has long been linked to the 1996  murder of Tupac Shakur. Many of the connections come from Duane “Keffe D” Davis, the man currently on trial for Tupac's death.Davis, accused of orchestrating the Las Vegas drive-by shooting, has claimed in multiple interviews and a 2008 proffer statement that Combs offered him $1 million to kill Tupac Shakur and Suge Knight. He says Combs allegedly told him he could “rekindle” a relationship with an associate named Zip Martin to arrange the payment. Former LAPD detective Daryn Dupree testified that Davis told him Combs was supposed to pass the money to Martin, but reportedly the money never reached Davis. Former Bad Boy Records security head Reggie Wright Jr. and Diddy’s former bodyguard Eugene Deal also claim Combs offered $1 million for Shakur’s death. Combs has  denied any involvement in Tupac’s murder.   Tupac's murder reportedly tied to the East Coast–West Coast feud. Crime stores with Nancy Grace. Did he do it? The Tupac murder trial blows up. I'm Nancy Grace. This is Crime Stories. I want to thank you for being with us. This long-awaited trial, Nancy, centers around the murder of Tupac. People swear Sean Combs was involved in the Tupac Shakur kit.

It's called a big mystery. He gets shot in plain view, and nobody saw a thing. And we was in there recording with Big. And I'm yelling like, yo, Pop. He looked up, yo, what's up, Lord? I go back in the room, I tell Big. I'm like, you're Big. Pop downstairs.

He was like, oh, all right, go get him. Get into the elevator. And when I was about to walk out, two dudes came from both sides. Back in the elevator. Ooh. Recording artist, two-pack Shakur was shot five times last night in a robbery. After surgery, his condition was upgraded to satisfactory, and he checked out. out of the hospital against his doctor's advice.

I think they're trying to rub me out, really. Robbers will leave behind $80,000 Rolexes. You know what I mean? They don't do that. It caches nobody not. Let's look at the facts. Puff is there. Pock has been shot in New York under your watch.

Question would be who knew that he was pulling up. Biggie, knowing myself had nothing to do whatsoever of Tupac being robbed. We, we, that's just a fact. We're coming for you, Combs. That was from Sean Combs, the reckoning. So, yeah, now, nobody had anything to do with anything. Nobody saw anything.

Nobody knows anything. After attempts on Tupac Shakur's life, gunned down in an elevator he lives, checks himself out of the hospital, then gunned down on. on the street like a dog. Tonight, did he do it? The Tupac murder trial is blowing up straight out to a pro. Alan Duke is joining us. Alan Duke, investigative journalist, editor-chief, lead stories.

Alan, what's happening? In the trial, we're listening to interviews that were taped by the federal investigators and the local investigators. interviews of Keefe D who turned into a confidential informant. And he was singing like a bird, talking about how he was offered money by Sean Puffy Combs to kill Tupac and Shug Knight. And this is information that some of it's been out,

some of it's been rumored about, but we're hearing it in the courtroom now. You state it's out there and you're right. I've heard it. I heard it years ago from very reliable sorts. when I was in L.A. with you, Alan Duke. We both heard it. And I thought for sure an investigation and a trial would happen. It didn't. Question why. Straight out to Cheyenne Roundtree, investigative reporter at Rolling Stone. She is the author of a brand new book coming out,

Bad Boy for Life, the Rise and Fall of Sean Combs. Man, I would hate to be in the places you had to go to get the information for that book. But Cheyenne, thank you for being with us tonight. Cheyenne, tell me about, A, what took so long? I mean, I can't take a case to trial because everybody knows Sean Combs did it. Well, you have to prove it. What has taken so long?

And tell me what's happening in court, Cheyenne. Well, for starters, what's taken so long is that there was a proffer agreement with Kevidi and the LAPD who were investigating actually Biggie's murder. And so it didn't it took until 2018 when Keffi D started talking about his role, alleged role in the killing of Tupac for the police to be able to kind of actually start putting the wheels in motion of this case. So three years ago, he was arrested. And that is where everything starts surfacing again with Keffi D's involvement and also his claim that allegedly Sean Combs had put a million dollar bounty on Tupac and Shogh Knight's head.

D. Davis claims credit for Tupac's murder on BET and in his memoir. He says Puffy Combs wanted Knight and Tupac's heads after their disc track hit him up. When Davis offers to carry out the hits, Combs agrees to pay him $1 million. According to Davis, Eric Zip Martin, a New York drug dealer, suggests they have the perfect opportunity to carry out Puffy's hit and even provides the gun. Davis, Anderson, Terrence Brown, and D. Andre Smith stake out the club where she's, Corps is performing, but Tupac's a no-show and the Crips abandon the plan. Driving down the strip, they spot night and Tupac stopped in traffic. Brown flips a U-turn in their white Cadillac.

Davis passes Anderson the gun and Anderson leans over Smith to shoot Tupac. We'll wipe the ass out quick, you know, it's nothing. Who brought up the amount of $1 million? He did it. Puffy did it. Biggie ever involved in any of these conversations about hitting Tupac? It was always just the puff and stuff. This is our puppy's doing.

Not one attempt on Tupacuccur's life, but several. Back out to Cheyenne Roundtree, joining us, investigative reporter at the Rolling Stone, author of a new book on Combs. Bad Boy for Life, the Rise and Fall of Sean Combs. Cheyenne, tell me about the elevator hit that preceded Tupac's murder. Yeah, so this goes all the way back to the quad shooting of November 1994. and Tupac was rolling up to the studio in Times Square to meet with the bad boy affiliate rapper. While he was there at that studio, he was jumped by men and shot several times. He looks up and he claims that he sees puff, he sees Biggie,

and he sees elements or people that were associated with bad boy. And he claims that this was a hit on him by people associated with bad boy, although bad boy in Combs denied this. This is what I don't get to Troy Slighton joining us. trial lawyer in this jurisdiction of LA. I'm trying to understand Troy Slayton. There are eyewitnesses at the elevator shooting. Two pot, gunned down and a casino, and a hotel.

He lives. He checks himself out of the hospital. Not long after that, he's gunned down in the street. Did you hear what Roundtree just said about Sean Combs was spotted? I heard what she said, but I also know that he's not a defendant in this case. He's not a suspect in this case. He's not a witness in this case. The prosecution isn't trying to prove in this case that Combs did anything.

The Combs' allegation is only being introduced because it's Davis incriminating himself. It's to show his consciousness of guilt. Both sides are attacking Keefei Davis. his own defense attorneys are trying to show that his statements were just puffery, and the prosecution is trying to also impeach him. So that's really the central irony in the case, is that the Combs allegation is only useful to the state as evidence of Davis's consciousness of guilt. Troy Slayton, I let you go far field there without any.

interrupting because I thought maybe, maybe, just maybe you would answer my question. Now, in court, I would have objected after about 30 seconds. It said, non-responsive and reformulate my question. Translation, answer the question. Can you think, and you have vast experience as a defense lawyer, as a trial lawyer. A trial lawyer is a whole different breed of lawyer. You're not sitting at a desk in an air temperature controlled environment with an assistant bringing you a latte, you're in the ring fighting. It's a whole other thing. I'm asking you, why do you believe they have ignored alleged evidence on Sean Combs and the two pot murder? Why? Because it's insufficient. I could tell you if they had evidence sufficient to show to a jury, to prove to a jury any kind of proof beyond a reasonable doubt,

then he would have been charged. They would have loved to have charged Did he in this case? And they haven't because of a lack of evidence. Isn't it true, Troy Slateon, that very often in the midst of a trial, somehow evidence materializes. In other words, you put a witness up, they start talking, and you find out something you've never heard before that nobody knew about.

I'm hoping that as a result of this trial, this Tupac murder trial, we're going to shake loose some evidence that we need to move forward in a prosecution, a further prosecution, into the murder of Tupac Shakur. Back to you, Cheyenne Roundtree. Who is Eric Von Zip?

Eric von Zip is a kind of notorious alleged Harlem drug trafficker who had connections to bad boy. He's pictured with Diddy in 1994. And it's Kipedei who claims that Fawn Zip was a connection between him and Combs. And Combs had hired KeefD and the Compton Crips as protection when they came out to L.A. during the ongoing West Coast, East Coast beef. So that is the connection in between how KVD and Puff knows each other.

Zip is a person that I know that was Puffie's man. And that was his guy. Eric Vines Zip is a drug lord from Harlem, but Sean told me he was his uncle. He might have known Janice on the fringe. He might have known Sean's father from those days. Zip had a relationship with the south side Crips, and then he also had a relationship with us.

Sean said Zip can give us protection going back and forth to L.A. because he was in with the Crips. and we had a beef with chugnite and the bloods. During police interviews presented at trial, Keefe Dee alleges he meets with Eric von Zip in Vegas on the night of the Mike Tyson boxing match. He claims Zip retrieved a 40 Glock from a hidden compartment in a car that was used, in the fatal Tupac Shakur murder. The new Red Bull Dragonberry

Dr. Bethany Marshall, I'll tell you why nobody wants to come forward. Money. Money. Sean Cones was paying all those people to keep their yaps shut and do what they were told. And they did it. Reportedly, at trial, we saw even

a bombing of someone's car, a car bombing. Totally blew out the car, right? One thing after, violence, look at that. Uncontrolled rage in

violence. And nobody said a word. There's a Molotov right there. It's money. They wanted to get paid. They wanted to be in the it circle in the scene with Sean Combs and that's why nobody's coming forward. You cannot

tell me in my world that Z, Eric Von Zip hands over the murder weapon I'm getting to you Joe Scott Morgan hands over the murder weapon that kills Tupot and Combs didn't know anything

about it. My rear end. You know Nancy, it's money but it's also power. Because keep in mind that, let's think of Cassie Ventura, when she tried to get away, what did he do? He beat her up. He raped people. Allegedly he sent out his thugs to break down cars. Boy, you sure are putting perfume on the pig. Beater us. She can hardly walk. That's right. So think about that and why evidence hasn't come forward. People are also terrified of P. Ditty. Some are on the payroll. Some are terrified. You know, I recently interviewed Shiree Hayes, who was the escort, who came to the freakoffs to have sex with Cassie Ventura while P. Diddy watched in a burqa.

And he says he's still terrified because he testified at trial. Whoa, whoa, whoa, Mommy, hold on. Don't just glaze over. P. Diddy watched them having sex in a burqa. So Sherey Hayes. Okay, go ahead. Okay, Shiree Hayes comes on my podcast on the couch and talks about. his experience with P. Diddy. And the first time Cassie Ventura called him, she says that her husband is giving her a male escort as a gift for a birthday. It's a birthday present. So he comes

over to a hotel room and he sits down with Cassie, starts talking to her. P. Diddy. Okay, right there, Bethany, hold on just a moment. The husband gives the wife a male escort for her birthday. That's what she wanted for her birthday. gives Kathy is that really what she wanted? Because you know what? I want a nice meal and even with the twins.

That's what I want for my birthday. What? Well, I question Sherey Hayes about this and he thought that was true. I don't think it's true at all. I think that Cassie was just giving in to Sean. But apparently during the sex act shot, P. Diddy Combs walks out

completely naked with nothing but a burqa on. But you think about this character, P. Diddy and all the people he terrorized, all the people he had power over. If he could get Cassie Ventura to do that and she was terrified of him, why is anybody going to come forward? They're all looking over their shoulders.

So is Shire Hayes, who testified for the prosecution. He is terrified. Many people are. To Alan Duke joining me, long time investigative journalist, and this is his beat, L.A. He has been on the Tupac case for so long.

What do you make of that, Alan Duke? Alan Duke is editor-in-chief leadstories.com. Why won't people rat Combs? I think that they will now, but this is the thing you've got to know about Combs. Combs was terrified. Combs is a scaredy cat, if you will. He was afraid of Shug, really afraid of Shug. That's coming out in the testimony in this trial.

That was his motivation for wanting Shrug dead, allegedly, was he was afraid of Shug. Shug and what Shug might do. And I can tell you, I would be afraid of Shug. Okay. So, you know, it's not really what I asked you again. Alan Dug. I'm not saying anything you said was incorrect. But, fine. Combs is afraid of Shug. Don't care. Why aren't people coming forward about Combs? Well, they have. He's in jail right now. They think he's going to get out and do what? I don't think that. Show his Tutsy roll. Who cares? I'm not afraid of Sean. I'm afraid of Shug. If anybody has information about Sean Puppy Combs, and they don't have any other reason. I don't think they're going to not speak because they're afraid of what Combs at this point is going to doeth to them. I think his teeth have been pulled out of his mouth. He has no bite. Around that time, Tupac was going to do a song with Little Sean at Quiet Studio.

Out of the blue, they wanted me to do the song. So I said, all right, stopped off to get some weed. Smoked the weed. Then I was getting a page, where you at? Where you at? Why you ain't coming? I was like, I'm coming. I'm in my way.

Hold on. I wasn't thinking why they want me here so bad. And we was in the recording with Big. And I'm yelling like, yo, Pop! He looked up, yo, what's up, Lord? I go back in the room. I tell Big. I'm like, you're Big.

Pop downstairs. He was like, oh, all right, go get him. Get into the elevator. And when I was about to walk out, two dudes came from both sides. Back in the elevator. Mm. We, we, that's just a fact. That's from Netflix, Sean Combs, the reckoning. Okay, so Joe Scott Morgan, you just heard that Sean Combs was there. Okay, Tupac gets shot. in an elevator.

Fast forward. He lives. Nobody expected that. Then he gets shot dead. And we know the murder weapon was handed off by Von Zip, who was Sean Combs' right-hand man, his wingman. Guys, Joe Scott Morgan, very humble, but let me speak on his behalf. He's Professor Forensics, Jacksonville State University that has a world-class crimpro setup. It's amazing.

In fact, of everyone, I go to him and drive to Jacksonville State University to do recreations of crime scenes. He is starring on YouTube on body bags with Joe Scott Morgan. Joe Scott, you're a death investigator. You've got over 10,000 death scenes under your belt. I want to talk to you about a 40-cow, the 40-cow murder weapon. Hit me. Yeah, so the 40 Kowton, I've got a couple of examples here. Keep in mind, one of the things that was brought up in this case, in particular, Nancy, is that before the police could get a handle on the scene, you know, we've seen that infamous image of that BMW stopped there.

And, you know, two of the tires are blown out. It's laid, you know, sitting there in the ground or sitting in the street. Some of the things that were sitting on the ground were, for instance, like casings that had not yet been preempt. protected and these casings had been ejected from the from the weapon that was used the police had to go out and put cones around them to protect them some of them got squashed by cars rolling over them this sort of thing and actually today nancy i brought you an example uh this is actually a 40 caliber this is a live round a 40 caliber round a 40 caliber round that similar to that he was shot with and here's one of the casings that i'm referring to and as you can see it's absent up top, does not have a projectile in it. This one has been fired. It's been tapped off.

So what are we looking for ballistically here? Remember, we still don't have this weapon. This weapon is floating around out there somewhere. And this guy that discharged allegedly this weapon into the vehicle in which Tupac was shooting, when he fired this thing, he is randomly running this thing down the side. You can see the tires are flattened on one side. It's got multiple defects on both on on that side of the car where these rounds have passed through an intermediate target.

And here's the thing. The injuries that he sustained when he was shot, these things, I think, at one level, could have been potentially survivable if he had only been hit once. And I'll give you the biggest injury that we're talking about and what the forensicians. path talked about on the stand is this round that passed through him entered right below his right armpit. Remember, he's the passenger in the car. So he raises his hand. He's got a round that passes through here. It traverses from right to left and actually nails his lung. So the lung collapses at this point in time. Now, people actually wonder, well, couldn't he have survived that?

perhaps he could have because they did go in and actually do a removal of the lung during that six-day period while he was in the hospital. But here's the other thing, Nancy, not only as he's shot in the lung and in the hand, remember, he's got a round that passes actually through his right ring finger. I think that's probably a defensive response where he's raising his hand like this. He's also got a round that passes through his right thigh and up into his bowel. And when you start to get into the bowel, you couple that with the lung. You've got multiple locations where you're bleeding out from. It would have taken a miracle for him to survive, but yet he lingered for six days there in that hospital before he was finally pronounced dead. Tonight, people on tape claiming Combs ordered the two pot hit.

Prosecutors' 179-page filing reveals that Dwayne Dayne Day. Davis confessed to Tupac's murder 10 years prior to his public statements. 2008, Davis is charged for his participation in an LAPCP ring facing 25 years in prison. The LAPD offers him a proffer agreement regarding the 1996 drive-by shooting of Shakur. Davis details the planning, attack, and aftermath of the shooting down to a confirmation call from Puffy, who allegedly asked, was that us? He said he'd kill us anything for those dudes there. He said in front of all those people, I can't believe it.

But did I hear Keefe Dee repeatedly say Sean Combs ordered the hit. In fact, made a confirmation call after Tupac was murdered saying, Was that us? Yeah, that's what he claimed two detectives back in 2008 in this proffer agreement. And actually, during the trial, LAPD detective, former detective, Darren Dupree, actually they tried to follow this through in 2009, and they sent KVD to New York to meet with Vonset Martin,

who is the alleged go-between guys. that new Puff in New York to try to get this claim corroborated, but the meeting never happened and the investigation failed through. So there was actually a little bit of an investigation back in 2009 trying to corroborate KPD's claim of Combs' involvement. However, as before, Combs and his team have claimed that he had no part of this and that KPD is just making this up. Biggie ever involved in any of these conversations about his Kup?

It was always just the puff and said, this is our puppy's doing. In his bid to avoid jail time, the LAPD squeezes even more out of Davis, sending him to New York in an attempt to implicate Eric Zip Martin and Sean Diddy Combs in Tupacchekhore's murder. Under investigators' orders, Davis meets with Martin to recruit him into trafficking narcotics. Martin refuses, claiming he's, quote, out of the game and directs Davis to his nephew. Amid Keith D's allegations, Diddy has remained silent. In June, Combs completely white. typed his Instagram page, removing his apology video, and denials of the allegations against him in several lawsuits.

The only post left is an 18th birthday tribute to his daughter, Chance Colmes. In response to a now retracted 2008 Los Angeles Times report on Davis' claims of Diddy's involvement, the mogul said the story is beyond ridiculous and completely false. To Cheyenne Roundtri joining us, Rolling Stone, and author of a new book, Oncoms, Cheyenne has Diddy's name come up during this trial? Yes, so throughout this trial, they've been heavily relying on this 2008 and 2009 recordings with KVD through this proffer agreement with LAPD detectives. And in that tape, you hear KVD claim that Combs kind of floated this idea that he wanted Tupac and Knight taken care of. This is amid the East Coast West.

This is amid the East Coast, West Coast beef. So it pops up, but this is all coming from Davis, Keevee D. Who claims that this is the proposition that Combs set in motion. D. Davis claims credit for Tupac's murder on BET and in his memoir. He says Puffy Combs wanted Knight and Tupac's heads after their disc track hit him up. Tupac. There you go.

May it a U-Turn. Pull up on the side. Checked every car to see where they were. Which goes to my point, Alan Duke, that the strip was crowded, crowded, people screaming Tupac's name. But none of these people ever come forward. Just the way that no one wanted to come forward in Sean Combs' sex trafficking trial. Same thing here. They're only coming out now against the people on trial because they're powerless.

those people have been in jail. They can't do anything, but everybody knows Combs is getting out early. He's going to be released in a few months on major sex trafficking allegations. Yeah, I think everybody's just about dead that was involved 30 years ago or who knew this information. I tried to find and think of somebody who wasn't that could possibly come forward with some new information. But this was quite a while ago. But as I said, why would you be afraid of Sean Puffy Combs now? He has been defanged.

He is not the powerhouse bad boy that he was 30 years ago or 20 years ago. So if there's anybody still out there living, I expect that they will come forward and we're going to hear about them. And maybe we will have a case. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I disagree with that. Troy Slate joining me, veteran trial lawyer. Everybody watched Sean Combs walk on the major. on the major charges by federal prosecutors who failed.

They failed and their prosecution on sex trafficking. He got a minor on a couple of charges, but nothing serious. He's going to walk in May. He's walking in May. So it seems as if Combs is invincible, even the feds couldn't really touch him. If I was going to argue for Combs, Nancy,

I would say that any of the statements made by Davis, who was a cooperating informant seeking leniency, carry an obvious incentive problem. When you're queen for a day, which is what we call in the law business, when somebody is doing a proffer, they're queen for a day. They're told that anything that they say can't be used against them unless they lie. There's an incentive problem here. He was trying to put the blame.

on combs and take it off of himself. So what about the people through the years that have stated, Combs ordered the hit? So they weren't quote Queen for a day, which is a common phraseology in the law and get immunity for that day you're immune. The allegation. There's this conspiracy,

but the allegation was that there was supposed to be a million dollars that was given to Zip, and that million dollars never materialized. My SUV is worth more than ever. Time to upgrade? Clark County Prosecutor's opposition to Dwayne Davis's bail mentioned Sean Combs nearly 80 times.

They argue Davis should not get bail because he admits he orchestrated Shakur's murder on the promise of payment from Combs. During a hearing, Davis cuts off Judge Carly Kearney to argue his claims about did he made during a 2008 proffer agreement should not be allowed into evidence now. Dr. Bethany Marshall, did you hear that? Combs' name was evoked 80 times, 80 times in Davis's bail argument.

80 times. Local prosecutors state it as a reason Davis should not get bail because of the connection to Sean Combs, but yet they're doing nothing. So if it's coming out of the mouth of prosecutors, don't you think that gives it some credence? It does, but P. Diddy is like Teflon. It seems like nothing sticks. And I do think that, again, there's so many people who are afraid of him. I don't think he's defaing because he's behind bars. I don't think it's true that he has no teeth. He has more teeth than ever. I mean, research shows that when prisoners are released from jail, especially sex offenders, they are angrier and even more ready to offend them before. But I think another thing that Bundy's the water here, Nancy, is. This is a little bit like a modern day Agatha Christie novel. There are so many people who had a motivation. Investigators may also be taking a second look into the 1999 club New York shooting based on allegations in Rodney Jones lawsuit that Combs bragged about bribing witnesses and jurors at trial sharing that he pulled the trigger that night. Not Jamal Shine Barrow.

Barrow served nearly nine years in prison for opening fire and injuring three during an altercation with another clubgoer while celebrating a new record deal with Combs and his. girlfriend at the time, Jennifer Lopez. The lawsuit alleges Combs shared that Lopez carried the gun and passed it to him during the altercation. Victim Natania Rubin has also long insisted that Combs shot her, not Barrow. Lopez was never charged in the shooting and Combs was acquitted of four counts criminal possession of a weapon and bribery. I watched them both fired their guns. I watched them. I got hit right here in my nose, in between my eyes, which means I'm facing directly at you. The same you're sure that I have on a green shirt, I'm certain that he shot me. Now, was he aiming at me? Was I, was I the object of his fire? Absolutely not. I should not have been because I didn't do anything to him.

To Rob Shooter, veteran PR guru, author of Queen Elizabeth 3, the new American House of Windsor, Rob, you deal with celebrities all the time, including Sean Combs. Now, you're not going to like this, but it's true, and I've argued to many a jury. When you don't know a horse, look at his track record. You've got him at the nightclub. You just heard the victim state, Sean Combs shot me in the face. What more do you want? Then we have all the claims of gun violence

that came out in the federal trial on sex trafficking. It goes on and on. Gun violence, gun violence, gun violence. There is a hurricane of violence around D.D. there always has been right from his early days in the music business right up to today. And so one has to ask, why is it that he has not been charged, prosecuted with this stuff? Let me remind everybody, Al Capone did not go to jail because he was murdering people. It was tax evasion.

It is very, very hard to prove this stuff. And what it's going to take is one brave person to come forward and tell the truth. and I do understand why people are reluctant to do that. Puffy is more powerful than ever when he leaves prison. He still has his fortune. He still has his networks. And now he will want vengeance. I would imagine that it is very, very difficult to come forward

and tell the world what you know about this man, knowing that he soon will be out of jail and he holds a grudge. Well, if you think I'm hiding under my bed, you've got another thought coming. Why is it? How is it, Rob Schuter, that he can orchestrate his own appearance, his own aura persona. No matter what. I mean, okay, he can even control the landing of a jet. Could you please explain how he really,

directed the landing of a private plane and the video of him getting out of that plane. Explain how he did that. Yeah, I was with Puffy and we were flying on a private jet leaving Tideborough in New Jersey and the camera crews were there lined up waiting for his arrival and he didn't like that image. He thinks of stuff like a movie director. He thought the image of him turning up in a car and getting out and walking up steps to a private plane wasn't what he would call sexy enough. So all those camera crews, about six or seven crews that were there, all deleted their footage and reshot it so that instead of did he getting on the plane, they would take him getting off the plane. He's a master manipulator. He's a master image creator. His biggest talent

is not as a musician. He doesn't play an instrument. He doesn't read music. What he is great at doing is creating an illusion and the biggest illusion he's created is for himself. Doesn't read music and doesn't play an instrument? Cheater, just give me a little thumbnail about life with Sean Combs. You were his PR guru for so long. I especially like the 3 a.m. call tearing everybody a new A-hole because he wanted cheesecake. He did. That's a true story. At 3 o'clock in the morning, Puffy wanted Junius cheesecake, and he made a staffer go to Brooklyn to get him a slice of cake that I don't think he actually ever

ever ate. Working with him was a really toxic and also too exciting experience. He rolls like his American royalty. His power in New York, maybe not in L.A., not on the West Coast, but on the East Coast, was extreme. This was a man who was taking phone calls from Anna Winter, from the head of Estee Lauder, from Maces, from Bloomingdale. he was running with the elites of New York, all at the same time surrounded by this really dangerous, dangerous shadow that was always with him. I remember once I went to his home,

he lived on Park Avenue, and in order to get into his home, you had to walk through a metal detector. The security around him was so extreme. It was almost presidential, and that was because Huffy had enemies and lived in a very dangerous world. world, a glamorous world, a world of diamond watches, a world of private planes, a world of

cheesecake at three in the morning. But nevertheless, it was a very dangerous, dangerous world. And so he made sure his protection was top-notch, while the people around him, he did not give that luxury to. Shayan Roundtree, Rolling Stone, am I the only person, am I just screaming in the wilderness? That many state Sean Combs ordered the hit on Tupac Shakur. I don't know why he's not in the courtroom thrown in the pot with the others right now. Well, I think the biggest thing about Diddy's or Sean Combs' legacy is that his ability to kind of wriggle himself out of tough situations. In my reporting, I found a documented pattern and history of him and his crew rolling with firearms, including an incident.

where a bullet was fired through a hotel room back in the 90s. And he was never prosecuted for any of this. And so I think in this case with Tupac and the allegation that he had, some type of connection to it, it hasn't been able to be proven, no matter how many times that KVD has brought this up. And no matter how many times people keep bringing his name up, it's just somehow has managed to go fully investigated and not have been able to be corroborated.

So he has the talent of wriggling out of things as we sleep with his criminal trial. Joe Scott Morgan, Professor Forensics, is not just what people claim. It's not just Kee-Fee-D. The answer is the gun. That's the connection combined with eyewitness testimony. Yeah, going back to the earlier shooting as well, Nancy, here's the thing that many criminals don't count on, and that's science and the hard numbers of science. And let me lay this on you relative to a weapon.

that might be floating or weapons that might be floating around out there. The ATF has something that's referred to as the National Integrated Ballistics Information Network. And why this is so important is if any of these weapons have been used in the commission of other crimes, all right? And they can get their hands on these weapons to test them. That weapon can tie back to any number of crimes that can be associated with. with all of these players involved in this ongoing, you know, three decade long drama at this point, Tom, you can actually kind of map their movements.

It's one of the things ATF does. And we've seen this actually, Nancy, I saw it and you saw it in practice in Atlanta, where you would have a weapon that might be used in four separate crimes and had been passed from person to person to person. It's the ballistics in all of this that ties that weapon back, puts it into the hands,

of not just the original shooters, but also the person that purchased a weapon initially. So the big question here, and this could tie back, tie back certainly to an evidentiary perspective, is can they find a weapon floating around out there that has been used? Has this information been entered into the ATF database, those rounds that were covered, say back in Vegas all those years ago, and does it match up with any other cases? that are out there or maybe, maybe even cases that are yet to come. You know, the thing about people that go around and beating their chest over the fact that they've committed horrible crimes, they love to keep souvenirs.

I wonder if somebody's got one of these weapons back in one of their closet somewhere. Maybe they're showing it off. Maybe they've handed it off to someone else. Tom will tell, Nancy.
