Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an iHeart Podcast. Crime Stories with Nancy Grace. Well, as if the murder allegations are not enough, the extradition back to U.S. soil on charges of extortion and wire fraud. Now, Jorn Vandersloot
Starting point is 00:00:33 convicted killer in the murder of Stephanie Tosiana Flores, another young girl he murdered in addition to Natalie Holloway. We now learn Jorn Vandersloot is divorcing his wife for a young, quote, younger, prettier girlfriend accused of smuggling drugs to him in jail.
Starting point is 00:00:59 So, let me understand this. Jorn Vandersloot, who murdered Natalie Holloway, America's sweetheart, escapes Aruba to the Netherlands, continues a life of crime. Then he gets to Peru, hop, skip, and a jump, where he meets Stephanie Tassiano-Flores, another young girl in a casino, brutally murders her. And just so you know, he goes out for coffee in a Danish, comes back to the hotel room. Her body's lying right there on the floor. He sits beside her body and eats the Danish and coffee next to her bruised and battered body.
Starting point is 00:01:41 He gets convicted on that. Peru had the backbone to do what Aruba never did. While he's behind bars, he has all the alcohol, all the drugs, and all the sex he wants. Even fathers a child with a woman behind bars. And now he wants a divorce. He wants a younger, prettier girlfriend who's smuggling drugs to him behind bars. Help me, please.
Starting point is 00:02:12 Joining me right now, longtime friend and colleague, founder and director of the Cold Case Research Institute and star of a hit series podcast, Zone 7, Cheryl McCollum. Does it never end well honey if they can't make it work there's just no shot for walt nye i mean didn't she know let's just be honest he's killed two people two women that we know young women that we know of. He is a con artist. He stole $25,000 from Beth Holloway in just a liar extortion-filled con. But you thought he was going to be loyal to you. That's rich. That's good. So now we understand the new girlfriend is, quote, prettier and younger.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Wow. I wonder if she looks anything like Stephanie Tassiano-Flores or Natalie Holloway. What do you think about that? I can guarantee it because the wife does. He has a type. He has somebody he targets. And again, whoever this new girl is, he already convinced her he's married with a child in prison, killing two people. He convinced her, hey, smuggle drugs for me so I can run my deals in here.
Starting point is 00:03:34 And she's already done it. I'm looking at the girlfriend turned wife. Her name is Lydie Figueroa. And she's really cute. She looks a lot like Stephanie Tosiano-Flores, and she's about the age of Natalie Holloway when he met her. He immediately gets Lydie pregnant behind bars, and then after that, they get married. And now she's getting dumped for Eva, I think her name is Pacanoa, who's accused of smuggling drugs to him behind bars, who also looks a lot like Stephanie Tassiano-Flores, a great deal like Stephanie,
Starting point is 00:04:19 and also about the age of Natalie Holloway. Now, interesting, the first wife, who is now older, of course, was an accountant. So, she obviously had a lot of brains. How did she somehow end up with Jorn Vandersloot? I don't know. And she helped him with some cons, too. Remember the time he was supposedly stabbed three times? And he had drugs back then. He had cell phones back then. I mean, she was quite possibly helping him all along, too.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Because she talked about all the hunger strikes and him being beaten. Remember all that? Oh, gosh, yeah. You know, and now we've got this woman, the new girlfriend that was reportedly smuggling drugs to him behind bars. Right. So what does that tell you about his M.O., modus operandi method of operation? He's controlling. He's convincing.
Starting point is 00:05:32 He can get people to do things for him that are illegal. He can get men to do it too. I mean, there's more than one allegation about bartenders slipping the low-hypnol in the drinks of his victims because he gave him the drugs beforehand. We know the Calpo brothers drove him away with Natalie. They know what happened in that car, and he convinced them somehow to stay quiet. So he is very convincing.
Starting point is 00:05:58 There's no doubt about that. The wife describes him as, quote, gentle, sensitive, kind, and no monster. Where did that come from? That I have no idea. And now he's the one asking for the divorce, not her? Well, see, I was kind of surprised by that because originally I thought it's got to be her. And then I thought, well, here's this woman again that has stayed with him, knowing that he's a killer, convicted, confessed killer. He said he did it with Stephanie Flores.
Starting point is 00:06:31 And he's, you know, gotten her involved with some illegal activity. But the thing that's going to, you know, break the straw of that marriage is that he's not faithful. He hasn't been faithful the whole time. Yeah, forget about the two murders. Forget about the two murders. Forget about the two murders. Oh, I'm looking at the wife holding up, the one that's getting divorced, holding up a picture,
Starting point is 00:06:54 a framed photo of Jorn Vandersloot. They have an eight-year-old daughter, as if that matters to Jorn Vandersloot. You know, it's just more manipulation of the system, the justice system, the jail system, of women, of his child. I'm sure he must have manipulated his mother his entire life, manipulating his father, Natalie, Natalie's mother, Beth. He forked over $25,000 for what really happened to Natalie, Natalie's mother, Beth, who forked over 25 grand for what really happened to Natalie and to be led to her remains. I mean, it's just a master manipulator.
Starting point is 00:07:34 He is a master manipulator. He has lied to everybody. Beth, the FBI, the Arruvan police, everybody, his own parents. That's what he did. Now he's also saying he, quote, wants to be extradited to the U.S. to clear his name. Well, come on, honey. We're looking for that to happen. You know what? I'm standing outside the Birmingham federal pen
Starting point is 00:08:00 right now waiting on you, Vander Sloot. We wait as justice unfolds. But hey, to that wife, Dana Peru, don't cry too much. It's the best thing that ever happened to you, him wanting to divorce you. Goodbye, friends.
