Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed human. Crime alert, hourly update. Breaking crime news now. I'm Sidney. Day four of the preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson, the man accused in the shooting death of Charlie Kirk, delivered the most explosive revelations yet.
Starting point is 00:00:20 After hours of intense legal arguments regarding the recorded testimony of Robinson's partner, Lance Twiggs, a Utah courtroom finally heard the never-before-seen video evidence. My name is Lance Twiggs. And do you know Tyler Robinson? Yes, I do. Or, yeah, I do. And this is the same Tyler Robinson that's been charged with the shooting of Charlie Kirk.
Starting point is 00:00:41 Yes. Twigs, who was granted limited immunity by both the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Utah County Attorney's Office, provided a chilling account of Robinson's behavior immediately following the assassination. Twigs recounted the moment the accused lone gunmen allegedly broke down inside their St. George apartment, located about three hours from the Utah Valley University campus where the murder took place. Twigs, who confirmed he also goes by the name Luna, explained to investigators that Robinson was acting erratically when he returned home on September 11th after spending hours
Starting point is 00:01:16 waiting near UVU campus in an attempt to retrieve his grandfather's rifle from the wooded area where he stashed it immediately after the shooting. In this segment of the video evidence played aloud for the court, Twiggs describes the suspect's tearful confession hours before turning himself over to the police. Did you see, however, on September 11th? Yes. When did you first see him on September 11th? So this is the day after the shooting? Yeah, I saw him when I woke up.
Starting point is 00:01:45 Like I said, he was up and around doing a lot of stuff around the house. Did he talk about what he had done? Didn't go into detail. He just, I just asked him in person what he said was true than I before, and he said it was. I started crying a little bit and said he wishes he hadn't done it. And then kept going around and just doing stuff, I think, to keep himself busy or distracted or something. Do you talk about what he was going to do next? Eventually said that he would talk to his parents or turn himself over.
Starting point is 00:02:25 Twigs further testified that Robinson rarely spoke about LGBTQ-plus issues, focusing instead on Donald Trump and his political policies, noting he had never heard Robinson mention Charlie Kirk specifically. However, prosecutors presented physical evidence tying Robinson directly to a premeditated attack. Roughly a month before the shooting, Robinson asked Twiggs for a Dremel tool to engrave bullets for what he said was a family hunting trip. In court, prosecutors published photos of... of four bullets recovered from a wooded area near the UVU campus alongside a rifle matching Robinson's DNA. The engravings read, hey fascist, catch, and notices bulge, what's this? A fifth bullet discovered in Robinson's bedroom was engraved test shot. Watching this unfold, the Kirk family sat in the courtroom demanding transparency. Their attorney, Jeffrey Neiman, argued passionately against sealing
Starting point is 00:03:21 any further evidence, stating that the family has waited 10 months to see what is happening in the courtroom and to finally put rampant conspiracy theories to rest. The hearing is scheduled to conclude today, but with major delays due to objections, there's a possibility it will stretch into next week. More crime and justice news after this.
