Crime Weekly - S3 Ep357: A Body in the Tesla: The Unraveling Story of D4vd and Celeste Rivas Hernandez
Episode Date: November 12, 2025A few months ago, we covered the disturbing case involving rising R&B artist David Anthony Burke, better known as D4vd, and the disappearance of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez from Riverside ...County, California. Hey everyone. Welcome back to Crime Weekly News. I'm Derek Levasser.
And I'm Stephanie Harlow.
Okay, so a few months ago, we covered the disturbing case involving rising R&B artist David Anthony Burke, better known as David, and the disappearance of 15-year-old Celeste Revis Hernandez.
from Riverside County, California.
Celeste vanished in April of 2024 when she was just 13,
and over time, online chatter began linking her to Burke,
a singer whose breakout hits like Romantic Homicide
and Here With Me had made him one of the biggest viral artists
in the last few years.
Those rumors took a horrifying turn in September of 2025
when Celeste's remains were discovered inside an abandoned Tesla
registered to Burke.
Speculation was that the body had been in the vehicle
for an extended period of time,
and although the cause of death hasn't been officially released,
authorities were treating it as a homicide.
Since then, Burke has canceled his world tour,
suspended upcoming releases,
and become the focus of an active death investigation.
As we learned in our first video,
there were already unsettling connections between the two,
from matching tattoos and online interactions
to song lyrics and videos that many fans now view in a darker light.
Today, we have some updates in the case,
and I'll be honest with you,
I do not know them yet.
Stephanie started to tell me,
before we hit record and we're like, oh, well, okay, let's just hold on. Let's just go through it. Let's do it live. And we'll see where it goes.
Yeah, I can't wait to talk to you about this because we have a few questions answered that
we had in the last video because we didn't have all the information then. There's been a lot
coming out. So I'm going to kind of talk about what we know and then what we're finding
out as we gradually go through this episode. Okay. So we know a decomposing body was found
inside a Tesla belonging to the musician David Anthony Burke at an impound lot in the Hollywood Hills
on September 8th, 2025.
We also know that the Tesla was brought to the impound lot after someone reported it abandoned.
Okay, and this seems to have some, like, mystery around it because nobody really knows who called in.
Like, there was neighbors in the area that I guess had noticed the car there, but we don't know
who called it in and said that the car was abandoned.
And so the police were called after workers at the impound lot reported a strong odor coming from the Tesla.
It has since been confirmed that this specific Tesla was never reported stolen.
This is something that you and I were curious about when we first talked about this case, remember?
In fact, I think we said something along the lines of if the Tesla was reported stolen,
it's going to really indicate where we're leaning.
If the Tesla was not reported stolen, then we might have some questions about whether or not Burke
is potentially guilty here, right?
Agreed.
Yeah, you'd think if your, if your Tesla just was gone,
you might, you know, want to know where it went.
Now, there's some tricky timelines here
that we're going to talk about in a second,
which may indicate he didn't know it was stolen
because he wasn't there, but hold on, I'll get there.
Well, let's not skate over that, though, real quick, right?
Just before you give me any more details,
it's pretty self-explanatory here, right?
The vehicle belongs to Burke for most of us.
Plus, that's a huge red flag.
And I think it's fair to say, listen, you should know where your car is at all times.
But we do have to take it in the context of, unfortunately, we're not R&B artists or rappers or actors where I don't know his financial situation, but I will say on paper, it sounds like he was doing pretty well.
So was it possible he has multiple vehicles and he's unaware where they are at all times?
Yes.
So I know last time we talked, I did say, oh, that's a huge thing.
and I still think it is because, listen, he's not, he's not Drake, right?
I can't, I don't know how many cars he has, but I'd like to think he knows where his cars are.
Is Drake, is Drake, is even Drake anymore?
Drake is, listen, we ain't trying to get canceled here.
We, Drake is still Drake.
You don't want that smoke.
Are you, are you, are we going there?
I mean, Drake is Drake.
They're not like us, man.
Oh, no.
Wow, well played, well played.
If we're talking about 15-year-old girls and Drake, then.
No, I'm with you.
I'm with you. Okay, I got you.
I'm not going to win this battle.
You mean, he's not, he's not Drake, so, but he still, he is a millionaire.
He should know where his cars are.
He might have lots of cars.
He also, we know, has lots of residences.
This is not his only residence.
And he's renting this place.
He doesn't even own it.
So I just wanted to give him a little grace there where it's like, it's not like you
or I where we have our car.
And if my truck's not outside my window when I wake up in the morning, I'm going to have
questions.
He probably has multiple vehicles.
And I know he has different people staying there.
where people are borrowing the car.
So there is some leeway there, but still to me, even with all that being said,
I'd like to think that he would know at some point his truck was missing because I believe,
don't hold me to this.
It was a cyber truck.
I don't know.
I've heard some people, maybe it was in our comments saying it was a cyber truck.
If I'm wrong, I apologize.
Do cyber trucks have trunks in the front as well?
Here's the thing.
They have a much bigger fronk.
Well, that would make sense.
Exactly.
It's basically the whole engine bay.
So I saw pictures of the car.
So we're going to talk about it, but there's a PI.
The owner of the house that David Burke was renting was like, I want to know what the
hell happened here.
Did my house have anything to do with it?
And hired Steve Fisher.
Steve Fisher is actually the same PI that figured out where Hannah Kobayashi was.
So he's been in, he's in a lot of the California kind of cases as a PI.
And he was hired.
And he took pictures or saw pictures.
car and kind of showed how much dust was on it. Like it had been there and not moved for a while.
It didn't look like a cyber truck, but I'm also not super up to date on what Tesla's look like.
I try not to be. So I have a picture of it up right now. We'll throw it in here. It's readily
available. It is not a cyber truck. I would say it's one of those Ys or the X's, I think.
I'm trying to get a closer of it here, but no, it is one of their like SUV type vehicles.
It is not the cyber truck, but it still does have a frunk. A large.
larger fronk than the sedans would have. So it is definitely not a cyber truck.
Can we not say fronk anymore? Just front trunk. We got to come up with a better word for.
I completely agree. That is a crime as well. It's just fronk. All right. So what we do know,
it's is a black Tesla with Texas plates. It was registered under Burke's name. And so you can say
it's registered under his name. Maybe he lets his staff drive it. According to sources,
people in the area who live there, that vehicle was seen parked in front of Burke's
Hollywood Hills home often. So he's renting the place and it's parked in front of that house
often. Now we also know that Celeste's body was discovered inside a bag in the Tesla's front
trunk, the frunk. The remains were not intact. They were badly decomposed so much that it took
well over a week to identify the body. Now the remains were eventually identified as 14-year-old
Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
Remember, she was 13 when she went missing.
She would have turned 14 at some point while she was missing.
And it turns out, Celeste, who was only 13 when she went missing in April of 2024,
she had a matching tattoo with David Burke.
They both had S-H-H-totued on their finger.
You know, like it's a secret.
We talked about that.
Yep.
We also know that Celeste mother has stated that her daughter has.
had been missing for over a year, and Celeste had a boyfriend named David.
Now, last time we talked about some of Burke's music, the lyrics, even music videos that may
have suggested a connection with Celeste, but now we have more specific reports, reports
that David Burke had written a love song that was never released about someone named Celeste.
Now, allegedly, this song was leaked on the internet in December of 2023, and the title
of the song at that point, because it was on SoundCloud, it was Celeste underscore demo.
UNF-I-N. So Celeste demo unfinished, basically. And here's the lyrics. Oh, Celeste, the girl with my name
tattooed on her chest. Smell her on my clothes like cigarettes. I hear her voice every time I take a
breath. I am obsessed. Oh, Celeste, afraid you'll only love me when undressed, but you look so
damn gorgeous in that dress. Missing you so much makes me depressed. Those are the lyrics. First of all,
It's a little lazy to rhyme undressed with dress, but that's not what we're here to talk about.
We're here to talk about the fact that he made a song that was leaked, that was never released,
and he says the name Celeste in that song several times, and there's no actual confirmation
that the Celeste named in this unreleased song is Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
But the detail, it certainly adds another layer.
darkness. Yeah, it's pretty bad. It's not great. It's not a great look.
it's not and and obviously we go here again with the I'm obsessed with her right I have a sexual
relationship with her I think I fear you'll only love me when undressed I don't know if he's
talking about himself undressed her undressed they're both undressed there's sex happening there's
they're talking about sex and uh you know I I'm obsessed with you I can't stop thinking about you
missing you makes me depressed this is a very um consuming all consuming
type of feeling. And while movies and books and Disney tales will make you think that that's
what love is supposed to be, we know that love like this, this all-consuming obsessive type of
love, it's really not super healthy and it usually doesn't end well, at least in true crime,
which is, you know, real life. It's a story that we hear all the time. It doesn't sound good,
like I've said a couple times on paper here. I think that's why everybody initially gravitated
toward David for this because we've seen this story play out before and it usually has a similar
ending but that's why you investigate every case because even though it could be close it may
not be the same and someone could look guilty of something when in reality they're innocent and
that's why we're covering it because we don't know what happened and that's why you've got to
cover all the facts impartially and let the evidence take you where it needs to go yeah i think
it's like if a body was found in a car registered to you, but you have no connection to this
person. You don't know them at all. Never met them. Never cross paths. There's no universe that exists
where you might have met them. We could be like, okay, I mean, there could definitely be an
explanation here. But the more that comes out and the more we're seeing that there probably
indefinitely was a connection between Celeste and David Burke, it seems less likely that this was a
coincidence and another explanation.
That's all I'm saying.
It goes back to what we were just talking about a couple of minutes ago, right?
Where if it's one thing, you can chalk it up to an anomaly.
And I'm referring to the car where context matters, right?
For this person, their life is much different than ours.
They may have multiple cars, a lot of people driving.
Multiple employees, yeah.
It happens.
However, like you just laid out perfectly when you have this other factor where not only is
it your vehicle, which we've given you an outlet.
on. Now we've also have this evidence where you knew this person and they happened to be found
in your car. It's okay to believe that maybe you didn't know where your car is, but to think that
you didn't know where your car is and the person that based on the lyrics in your own songs,
you appear to have had a relationship with that now you got two strikes against you. And the
evidence is mounting and that's why we come to where we're at. And the fact that she was
13 years old when the alleged relationship happened would, I don't know, be motive possibly.
Agreed. A reason why you wouldn't want her to speak out against you. Yes, absolutely.
But there's more, dude. There's more than what we already talked about, how there could be potential connections between them.
More has come out. Okay. So in late September, police conducted a late night raid at Burke's home in the Hollywood Hills.
And it's a rental. Remember, they seized multiple items, including a computer. Now authorities have
confirmed this home was being rented out by Burke's manager, Josh Marshall. So it doesn't even
look like David Burke was the one renting it. It was Josh Marshall renting it for him from the guy
who owns it. His name, the guy who owns it, his name is out there. I just don't see the purpose
in talking about it. He has nothing to do with this. So photos have surfaced that match photos from
an online real estate listing for this address, including pictures of Burke in the home,
dancing with the girl group Cat's Eye, in the kitchen with Benny Blanco, who's
Selena Gomez's husband.
So we kind of know that he definitely was residing here.
It wasn't just a place he rented out and would sometimes be at.
Like, he was there.
And then according to the New York Post, after the raid, Burke broke his lease and
moved out of the $4 million mansion that he was renting for $20,000 a month.
Movers were spotted at the home just days after the LAPD raid.
Now, private investigator Steve Fisher was hired by the owner of the home, and he shared some details about what he personally claims he discovered inside the mansion.
Fisher told ABC eyewitness news that the owner of the home wants to, quote, understand exactly what may have happened and if his house played a role in any way, end quote.
Fisher was allowed to investigate inside the home himself after the LAPD searched the property.
When he went in, Steve Fisher claims he discovered some things that he believed could be used to get rid of someone, telling Court TV,
quote. It's not a crime to think about doing certain things, but we found some things that had been
delivered to the house that just don't belong there. Don't belong in any type of environment like that.
There are things you could use to get rid of a person if you wanted to. People say, oh, it's got to be
tools and stuff. It's beyond that. It's really sadistic stuff. End quote. He hasn't specifically
said what he found, but in one interview, he said something like farm equipment, farm equipment, which when
he says, yeah, it's stuff that's delivered to the house that really has no business being
there. It's like, yeah, you're at a, you know, $4 million mansion in the Hollywood Hills. You're not in
rural Alabama. What the hell do you need this farm equipment for? What do you need these things
for? So that's interesting. Additionally, using neighborhood surveillance videos and digital
evidence, Fisher believes he's established a timeline around Burke's Tesla. Fisher said that starting in
May, the car was parked in a few different spots around the neighborhood. And then on July 29th,
it was left in its final spot on Bluebird Avenue. Now, this is where it was parked when the police
towed it. So this happened to be right before, or possibly even the same day, that David Burke
and his team left on a tour bus for his tour. Because remember, he went on tour. So people could
say, well, he went on tour. How would he know that his car was missing?
How would he be able to report it missing? Well, the fact of the matter is it wasn't missing
because if he or somebody that worked for him parked the car where it was on Bluebird Avenue,
where it was discovered and towed by the police to the impound lot, and that happened the day
of or right before he left for his tour, then he would have known where he parked the car,
which means it was never missing, which means David Burke or someone he knows was
well aware of what was in that car when it was parked on Bluebird Avenue. Am I wrong?
Yeah, that's the problem here for them, right? Like, they would have known that this car was missing
before they went on that tour as you're basically laying out here. That's the issue where
you could make a better argument for them if this all happened while David was on tour. Hey, listen,
can't be in two places at once. This is why he has a team of people, a lot of moving parts.
Maybe it just slipped through the cracks as far as David's concerned. But like you just, like
you just said, having all this happen, having that car be stolen, and then move to its final
position before the tour ever started, that's not good.
Right.
So in my opinion, it never was stolen because it's not like David and his team went on tour
and the Tesla was parked in front of his Hollywood Hills home.
And then while they were gone, somebody took the car, went on a joyride with it,
took Celeste from wherever she'd been missing for a year, and then left her body in the car on
Bluebird Avenue.
No, that car was moved to Bluebird Avenue before they left for the tour.
So either A, they knew it was gone and didn't report it missing, which, why?
Or B, David or someone on his team moved the car there, which is why they didn't report it missing.
I agree.
I agree.
So we have a lot more to talk about.
Let's take a quick break.
We'll be right back.
This episode of Crime Weekly News is brought to you by Wild Green.
And if you've been here for a while, you know I love talking about this one.
In fact, I just got my wild grain box for this month.
This afternoon, it's so fun for me to open the box.
I know what I ordered, but I like to see it.
So wild grain is the first bake from frozen subscription box for artisanal breads, seasonal pastries, and fresh pastas.
Everything bakes in 25 minutes or less, which is perfect for busy weeks or honestly, which is even better, lazy weekends.
Exactly right.
This is my kind of baking.
Basically, open the oven, close the oven, and boom, you look like a.
pro. That's what I like. And that's the thing. Wild grain makes you look like you've been kneading
dough all morning, but there's no prep, no mess, and everything smells incredible. Like, I love
popping in a batch of croissants on a Sunday morning with some of the amazing, like, French
butter that they send to. Wild grains, ingredients are simple, real, and they use a slow fermentation
process, which actually makes the bread easier to digest and richer in nutrients and antioxidants.
Yeah. So it's not just easier. It's also better for you. I know for me, I got my bagels. I got my breads. I got my croissants. You know, I love my croissants. What did you get in your last box? All right. So this time I got the tear and share cranberry pecan rolls. Amazing, right? So the parmesan herb biscuits and these apple pie bites that I'm saving for Thanksgiving dessert. All I will say is I've had the cranberry rolls before. They are so good. That's why I ordered them again. Sweet, tart, buttery,
Just they pull apart.
They're the kind of thing that people think you bought from a fancy bakery.
I'm going to be honest with you the way it sounds.
I wouldn't be sharing those with anybody.
I mean, that's fair.
But it's great for hosting too.
Okay.
So if you have somebody over for like brunch or you want to bring something for a dinner,
you can even buy certain items in bulk.
I like to keep the pastas and biscuits stocked because they make dinner nights so easy.
Plus, it's an amazing gift idea.
You can actually send someone a box or even an e-gift card.
and it's the kind of thing that everyone actually uses and appreciates.
Now, let's be honest, who doesn't love carbs that show up right to your door? Come on.
And Wildgrain keeps things interesting with seasonal and limited time products.
Now they even have gluten-free and plant-based boxes, so there's truly something for everyone.
Head us with the deal.
Okay, so for a limited time, Wild grain is offering our listeners $30 off your first box,
plus free croissants in every box when you go to wildgrain.com slash crime weekly to start your subscription.
Free croissants.
full stop right there. That's enough of a reason to subscribe. I agree. And they're honestly
some of the best croissants I have ever had. So go to wildgreen.com slash crime weekly or use
promo code crime weekly at checkout and make your holidays and your dinners a whole lot easier
and more delicious. Okay, we're back. So Steve Fisher, the PI, he also said that he found
a build a bear certificate dated April 21st, 2024. So before I go on,
You've got daughters. I'm sure you've been to Build a Bear before.
Oh, yeah.
Okay. So what's on a Build a Bear certificate? Do you remember?
Oh, God. That's like the worst question. I have no clue what's on it.
It's like, here's their name. When were they created or were their birthday?
Who owns them, I believe?
So it's usually like, what are you going to name the bear? You got to give the bear a name.
And it'll say the date that you made it. And that'll be the bear's birthday, right?
So this Build a Bear certificate was dated April 21st, 2024.
This was 16 days after Celeste was reported missing.
The bear's name was Esmeralda.
Now, that just happens to be the same name as Celeste's cousin.
And on that same day, April 21st, 2024, Burke posted some TikTok videos where he's
riding a roller coaster at a Six Flags amusement park.
And at that Six Flags amusement park is a build a bear where that bear was made.
So it's the same day you've got to build a bear, build a bear certificate, April 21st, 2024, Berks at the Six Flags, where that bill to bear was made.
And that's interesting.
Combine that with everything else we know already.
The song lyrics, the car.
And also, this is 16 days after Celeste is reported missing.
Now, remember, she was reported missing once.
She was brought back home.
She's reported missing again in April of 2024.
She does not come back home.
and then a year later, her body's found.
Okay.
So Steve Fisher said, quote,
there were people aware of where Celeste was,
and they're obviously in contact.
They planned this out,
and I don't believe this is just a coincidence.
I believe that Esmeralda and David were there,
end quote.
At that Six Flags, he thinks Esmeralda, David,
and Celeste were all there that day,
16 days after Celeste is reported missing.
Steve Fisher says that Six Flags requires a chaperone
that is 21 years of age or older
for any guests under 15 years old, which is true. So Celeste was only 13 at that time.
Now, Fisher also found that Celeste was at her cousin Esmeralda's graduation. There's a picture
of them there together on May 30th, 2024. Okay, so according to her family in a police report,
in April, Celeste was reported missing. But then she's at her cousin, Esmeralda's graduation,
the following month. And no one from the family came
forward to say that they were aware of where she was. And it's also important to note that the
GoFundMe for Celeste's family was organized by Esmeralda, Celeste's cousin. So Steve Fisher told
News Nation, quote, I think there were adult family members there as well, and they should
have notified law enforcement that Celeste was located. And then they intervene and find out what's
going on, but that didn't happen. End quote. So Steve Fisher saying, Celeste family reports her missing
in April. And then she's at Esmeralda's graduation in May, which of course,
other family members would be there.
And at the very least, Asmerelda was there and knew that Celeste was no longer missing,
but nobody contacted the police and said, oh, hey, actually, we know where Celeste is.
And she was not enrolled in school at that time.
So Steve Fisher seems to think that some family members of Celeste knew she wasn't missing,
at least in May at the graduation.
And nobody intervened and said, where are you living?
Why aren't you in school?
or they knew where she was living or they knew who she was with and nobody has said anything.
And I don't want to accuse anybody of this, but I remember the last time we talked about this case and it was a while ago, I had said it was a big part of this.
And I wasn't trying to blame anybody or anything like that.
But ultimately, in my experience, and it's anecdotal, there are a lot of cases where parents will come in to
report their child missing and usually the the setup to this is not oh we have no clue where they
are it's hey we know they were with this person and we were okay with it at first but now we want
them to come home or something changed and it's not the same or their behavior has shifted since
being with this person now we want to enforce our parental rights to get them to come back home
and so i'll start to look into it and what i find is that just like this case the
it's usually the daughter will be 14, 15 years old and the boyfriend's 16 and right on the edge.
It's not anything criminal.
But still for me personally, just from not acceptable as far as I'm concerned, my 14, 15 year old daughter will not be living with a boyfriend.
Not happening again to each their own.
And so now they want us to enforce it.
But leading up to it to your point to get there, they're aware of that she's okay and where she is.
or in these cases, they just, they're not pushing the issue right now.
I mean, they may not be aware that she's okay, but they know she's no longer missing.
It's not this mystery.
We have no idea where she is.
She was at Esmeralda's graduation.
There's a picture of them together.
Right.
Yeah.
So they know.
And that's where I'm going with this, where they may have not been completely okay with it.
Maybe they were.
I don't know.
But overall, it wasn't just a complete surprise to them that she was spending time with this
particular person or this crew at minimum.
Or somebody, yeah.
Someone within the crew, right?
And she's 13.
She's not going to school and she's living where.
You may not know exactly where she's living, but you know she's not home and she's not
attending school and she's 13.
And that's what I think is important to emphasize here.
When I'm talking about these cases that I've dealt with as a police officer, usually it's
right on that edge, 15, 16.
I can't remember a case.
And maybe I've had one I just don't remember it, but where the child was 11, 12, 13 years old.
And they're staying with someone.
who's illegally, not allowed to be with this person.
And so if that's what happened here, even though there's no paperwork, not saying anything
that happened afterwards is justified or okay, but it's just a lesson that we can all learn
from.
And that's what I was trying to say last episode, which is let's take this tragedy and learn
from it as parents, because these are the types of things that it can happen when you take
your finger off the pulse of what's going on around you.
Yeah.
So let's say that David, Celeste, and Asmerelda were all hanging out together in April at Six Flags, making Buildabairs.
The Buildabairs certificate was found in David's home.
Okay.
Did he go to Six Flags with Just Asmeralda?
If so, why is Osmeralda not saying the Sheik?
So there's definitely a connection there.
Or did he just make a build a bear by himself and name Esmeralda randomly?
No.
No.
A grown-ass man is not making.
a build-a-bear and naming it as Marelda randomly.
That's a little girl thing to do.
It feels like Celeste made that build-a-bear.
That's why-that would be my guess.
Yep, named it after her cousin, and that's why that build-a-bear certificate was in David's
house.
Where's the bear?
David, where's the bear?
Okay, you didn't make that bear.
And I'm not, listen, if you're a grown man and you want to go and make a build-a-bear,
all power to you.
I do it too.
but, but it would be weird if somebody that I sort of knew turned up dead and then it turned
out I made a build a bear that had their cousin's name and I'm pretending I don't even know
who this person is.
So that's all I'm saying.
Grown men, absolutely you can make build a bears.
I encourage you to do so.
No judgment.
I'm not making one, which is probably a surprise to none of you.
Why would you not make one?
They have all different kinds.
I think everybody, it's, listen, it's cool, just not my thing.
They have Batman.
I think they have Batman outfits.
for build a bears, Derek. You love Batman. I'd rather buy the Batman costume for myself.
I'm going to make you a build a bear now. Okay. But anyways, it's weird. And it gets worse.
Okay? Because as it turns out, there is some evidence that Celeste and Esmeralda were in Las Vegas on
October 28th, 2023, the same day that David Burke was in Vegas watching Siza perform. So he
post pictures in Vegas on that day. And then Celeste and Esmeralda are in. And then,
in Vegas at Caesar's Palace, and Celeste mother had posted those pictures of Celeste and her cousin
in Vegas after Celeste was found dead, and then she deleted them.
So it's all very weird.
It was also revealed that David Burke made some changes in the ownership of one of his Texas
homes with records showing he transferred a home he owned in Houston to his mother's name
on September 23rd, about two weeks after the discovery of the decomposing body in his Tesla,
which to me says, I might get arrested.
And I don't, I want my, you know, my assets to not be in my name when that happens.
We have talked about that as well.
I think I might get arrested.
If you're completely innocent and there's nothing that will tie you to this girl personally,
you can't, you know, yes, the sad that this girl was found in my Tesla, somebody else did this,
you will not find a personal connection between me and this girl anywhere.
I don't care how hard or how long or how deep you did.
dig, I'm not going to be afraid of getting arrested, but I think that maybe David was, and that says
something to me. So we're going to take another quick break, and then we're going to come back and
talk about, I guess, the newest statement or the consistent statement that the LAPD is putting out,
which is surprising me. But we'll talk about everything, and then we'll give our final thoughts.
We'll be right back.
So you know this time of year, my skin just gives up. It goes into hybrid.
between the cold air, holiday stress, and all of the travel, I always feel dry and dull,
and I look, dry and dull, which is why I have been sticking with one skin.
Yeah, I was going to say, too, you've mentioned this one before. That's the stuff with the
special peptide, right? Exactly. It's their patented OS1 peptide. It's the first ingredient
proven to actually target what they call sentient cells. Basically, the cells responsible for
wrinkles, loss of elasticity, all those signs of aging that we don't.
don't want, and it's backed by five clinical studies, so it's not just hype.
Okay, so let's just put it out there.
This is science, not snake oil.
Exactly.
And what I love is that one skin was founded by an all-woman team of longevity scientists,
PhDs in skin regeneration and tissue engineering, so they really know what they're doing.
Everything's dermatologist tested, safe for sensitive skin, and even has the National Exema
Association's seal of acceptance.
Yeah, and you've been using these products for a while, so what would you say is your favorite?
All right, listen, I've said this a million times for it. The eye cream is, it's second to none.
It is the best eye cream that I have ever used. I have it on a subscription now. I like that they send
you the refill so you can keep using the same bottle and just pop the refill like unit in there.
So you're saving on plastic is better for the environment. But I will say I'm obsessed with their new
nightly rewind gift set. It has that same moisturizer that their face moisturizer has,
plus a brand new peptide lip mask and a sculpting guashaw tool.
It's the perfect holiday gift, especially for anyone who needs a little self-care moment.
I'm actually giving a set to my mom and my sister this year.
Well, great.
Now that you put that out there, I have to get one from my mom, too, or she's going to be like, where was mine?
Now you have to do it because you set it.
And right now is the best time.
So for a limited time, you can try one skin for 15% off using code CWN at oneskin.
dot co slash cw n after you purchase they'll ask where you heard about them make sure to tell them that
crime weekly sent you that's right that's 15% off at one skin dot co slash cwn with code cwn go treat
yourself or someone you love this holiday season we're back so all things considered the newest
i guess newish updates from the lAPD are puzzling to say the least as i stated already
the cause of death for Celeste is still unconfirmed.
With the police's only statement being, quote,
the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause or manner of death.
As such, it remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body.
End quote.
Additionally, the L.A. County DA's office was asked,
hey, has this case been presented to you?
And I think maybe as in like, is there going to be a grand jury?
jury? Have there been any movements on, you know, their suspects or arrests going to be made?
And the DA's office has said, no, this case has not been presented to their office for their
consideration. Now, here's another thing. Concealing an accidental death in California,
it's only a misdemeanor. The maximum sentence that someone can receive is up to one year in
county jail with a maximum fine of $10,000. And this really surprised me. But additionally,
of California, failing to report an accidental death is not even a crime.
It's not even a crime.
So I think what the police might be trying to say, even though, according to them,
the autopsy and the tax results aren't even close to being completed.
So why would they even be kind of going down this path?
But I think what they're trying to say is she could have accidentally passed away.
and I guess David or someone he knows who had access to his vehicle concealed her death.
So the most that he could be looking at is concealment or like, you know, I guess moving and
concealing a corpse.
And if she accidentally died, which at this point, how would you accidentally die as a 13-year-old
except for an overdose of some kind, right?
Some sort of substance-related issue.
And then if they didn't report it, if David or somebody who worked for him or with him knew of it and didn't report it, that's not even a crime in California.
But would that change considering that Celeste was a minor, 13 years old?
If you provided her the drugs, which she used and overdosed, wouldn't that be still a criminal issue?
it feels like they're kind of either they are just not saying they're building a huge case against him
and they're just not saying anything or they're kind of going easy on him at this point what do you think
i think it's going to come down to the the autopsy which as you stated has not been released yet we do
not know the cause or manner of death they don't know it either it hasn't been completed which is
crazy to me because it's been months it hasn't been completed but and i this is his speculation on
my part, the body's probably been examined already. The report isn't completed. And so I would
imagine, especially with the high profile of this case, how many people are talking about it,
there has been an off-record conversation with the pathologist and law enforcement to say,
this is where my report is heading. Is it going to be accidental? Is it going to be undetermined,
right both of those wouldn't allow for a murder charge they wouldn't you couldn't charge someone
with a homicide if the autopsy report comes back and says anything but homicide so that's the
issue here and based on the decomposition of her body i'm really hoping it's not undetermined
because of the condition of the body where the the pathologist isn't able to determine the exact
cause and or manner of death because of the condition of the body.
That would be an absolute tragedy.
But you talked about a lot there, and this is just one element of it.
I see you looking at me like you have something to say.
So before you forget it, and before I continue, what do you got?
I mean, I feel like this is, I just feel like this is common sense.
She's a 13-year-old girl.
She goes missing.
There's evidence that they knew each other.
She legally should not have been in his presence at all.
And if she was doing any kind of drugs or narcotics or anything that could have led to her, quote, unquote, accidental death in his presence or even under his care, he still should be legally and criminally culpable for that.
She was a 13-year-old girl.
We're not talking about a 23-year-old, a 25-year-old, a 30-year-old.
We're talking about a 13-year-old girl who was reported missing.
So just being in the company of a 13-year-old girl who's reported missing.
and then she ends up dead and in the front trunk of your Tesla,
and then the car's parked and you go off on tour.
What am I missing here?
No, I'm with you.
You know, I'm not going to disagree with you.
And I don't think you need something black and white
or a photograph of them together before this incident to charge them.
Listen, people have been charged with the same crime for a lot less.
You let a jury decide.
So for me, I'm with you.
And I think there's enough smoke here to say that there's a fire.
But that's just that you and I.
We don't have all the inner workings, all the details, all the hurdles or hiccups that might be going on behind the scenes with this case where maybe there's a dynamic here.
Again, nothing to suggest this.
But what if we find that there's a dynamic here that Celeste had been hanging out with another member of David's crew that wasn't him?
Maybe there was a previous relationship with David and now she's hanging out with someone else who's at that house.
And he's writing songs about a girl Celeste who he's obsessed with that would just make more sense that he killed her because now he's mad because she's dating one of his friends.
Possible, possible, because here's the other thing.
And I don't know if you, I don't think you've addressed this at all.
And I don't know if he has, but has David made a public statement at all about it.
No.
And he hired a very high-powered, aggressive defense attorney.
I have no issue with the attorney.
That's the dynamic I think we're talking about is his attorney is probably like, you don't have access to my client.
I have no issue with the attorney.
What I do have, I take issue with, and some of you may not agree with me, if I'm David and now I'm not involved, and I know I'm not involved, I'm putting out something where I'm letting my fans know that I am not responsible for this girl's death, that this is someone, if he doesn't know her, if that's what he's going with, come out and say it, but that's the problem here because he can't come out and say that.
Because I think he definitely did know her.
So now you have to explain why you're so close and tight with a 13-year-old girl.
Correct. And that's the issue here because if he really didn't know her and it was someone else, pretty simple, right?
Come out and say, I'm going to let law enforcement do their job. I'm going to cooperate fully.
I did not know this young lady. I feel I'm sorry for her and her family and I'm going to do whatever I can to cooperate in this matter to make sure that justice is found in this case for Celeste and her family.
He hasn't said a word. He's just basically pretending like it hasn't happened.
which seems like he's unable to make a statement
because anything he says is going to be bad.
That's the only thing that I'm taking from it.
And that's just me, not as a former cop,
just looking at it from the outside.
If you have a defense attorney,
have them type you up something where you can at least put some fires out,
whether it's from a legal standpoint
or just from a professional standpoint of,
you have to still have a career after this.
You're an up-and-coming musician.
You have a long future ahead of you
if you can navigate this,
if you had nothing to do with it,
it would behoove you to come out and make a statement
and at least clear yourself publicly.
So the fact that after all this time,
he still hasn't said anything to me,
just looking at it from the outside, looking in,
it sounds like there are definitely some ethical dilemmas here
where his attorneys are telling him,
you really can't say anything, David,
because there's multiple landmines we have here
and you can't come out and lie
because if you do,
that statement will be used against you by the,
law enforcement to say, you're lying, and now we have to wonder why.
So the fact that he hasn't said anything at all, as much as I tell all of you, if you're
ever in a similar situation to get an attorney, if you're a high profile figure like this,
by this point, you should have made some type of public statement.
But he can't, because to make any type of public statement, I didn't know her.
We'll find out that's false.
Allegedly, but I agree with you.
Or, oh, I was just like an older brother to her.
We would find out that was false.
There was a thousand people, a thousand people in his discord who, if you ask any one of them,
they knew of her presence in his life.
They kind of thought it was weird.
And this was a well-known thing before she went missing.
This is very, and the fact that nobody's really doing anything, and it breaks my heart for her
because I'm sorry for her family's loss, but they failed her too.
I agree.
I said that last episode.
And it may be, it may be that it comes out that they knew very well.
she was living with her much older boyfriend and they just didn't do anything about it was okay with it
because he that he had money big future maybe they're thinking oh this could be a good thing for her
i don't know but she's she's she's 13 man yeah yeah so too many people seemed to kind of know
she was falling between the cracks and didn't really do anything about it and i think we need to hear
from her cousin esmeralda because asmeralda if you were not at six flags
with Celeste and David, then let us know.
Esmeralda, if Celeste was at your graduation and you took a picture with her,
let us know why you or any of your family members did not clear that up for the police
or go to the police and say, hey, this little girl was missing.
She showed up in my graduation, but we don't know where she's living and we don't know
if she's safe.
So can you please look into this for us?
No, I agree with everything you're saying.
And to get back to the final thing you said, because we've talked about a lot,
potential charges here where you could be looking at an outcome where there's some charges
brought against whether it's David or members of his his crew where there was a quote
unquote accidental death in the house they got spooked they didn't want to report it so they
dumped the body in a nearby location thinking okay eventually it'll be found but at least it won't
be inside the home so less culpability which is obviously super stupid but that's
interesting because if you really think about it, if the pathologist comes out and says,
this is undetermined, I can't figure out what happened to her. Could be a homicide, could be an
accidental death, could be anything. Doesn't matter if anybody, David or anybody that lived
with him or worked for him knew that she died and then just got rid of her body. And then maybe
they even knew, oh, hey, not reporting an accidental death isn't a crime in California. So I'm
covered. And by the time anybody discovers her, she'll be so decomposed. They won't be able to
figure out how she actually died. Well, didn't you say it's a year? It could be a year for failing to
report. No, nothing for failing to report. A year for moving the body or trying to disclose to
try trying to hide the body. But either way, a year is better than life in prison. Let's say
something did happen to her intentionally. They leave the body. It sits there decomposes. Now they know
the worst thing that can happen is this one-year charge.
He has a member of his crew say, yep, it was me.
I did it.
I'm taking the fall.
They take the fall.
They do a year in prison, maybe eight months total after good behavior,
and they're back in their member of his crew for life because now they did a bid for him.
Again, all hypothetical, all-edgedly.
That's the maximum.
A year.
That's the maximum.
And or a $10,000 fine.
So if it is anything involved with David and his high-profile attorney, we know he's not doing no year.
and we know $10,000 is chump change for him.
Nothing.
So my problem is, though, if that came to light that he knew her and was in her presence
and maybe even provided her drugs, are we going to now go back and be like, okay,
what is this grown man doing with a 13-year-old girl?
And can there be charges or some sort of punishment for that, even if you can't prove
that he actively had a hand in her death?
Because there needs to be something happening here.
I couldn't agree more
I couldn't agree more
As of right now what
He'd be what 20 years old now
At this point
I think yeah
Older
He was born he was born in 2000
God it's so funny
He was born in 2005
So his birthday was 328 2005
So he's already he's 20 years old
That's crazy to think
Yeah 20 or 21 yeah
Yeah right now he'd be 20
Okay
Right now he'd be 20 but at minimum
I'm not a fan of the guy
I don't think people should support him
people are canceled for much less, regardless if there's any proof that David was having any
type of relationship with this girl, even if it was quote unquote as friends, no, hard pass.
There's better people to support.
But I truly do believe this case is going to come down to the pathology report.
I am concerned, Stephanie, if I'm being honest with you, it normally doesn't take this long.
And the fact that we haven't had something come out yet where they say, yep, cause of death,
manner of death, blunt force trauma, strangulation, whatever it might be, the fact that they
haven't said that yet, it could be them just keeping it close to the vest, but I am concerned
that they're trying to build the case with a potential undetermined ruling, which is tough.
Well, this is also, it's the LAPD and it's L.A. County. I guarantee you their labs and all
of their, like, autopsies and things, they're so freaking behind on this stuff. Like, it's real bad.
to the top of the list, though.
Apparently not.
Unless they don't, they're just trying not to put it out there because if his team,
David's team knows that they got nothing, even less of a reason for them to cooperate.
Yeah.
I mean, it kind of feels, I don't know.
I don't know.
Let us know what you guys think.
This is a tough one.
I mean, ethically, we already know the answer.
We don't need to wait.
Ethically, completely unacceptable.
I think he knew.
And to be honest, he went on tour, okay, she's been missing for a year.
was she since she was reported missing in April of 2024? Where was she that whole time? She had to
have been living somewhere. She had to have been with someone. And if we find out it was him,
I think that's a crime in itself because how would a 13 or a 14 year old girl accidentally die?
She didn't have a heart attack, right? Could have been using a lot of drugs. They could have been
doing a lot over there. But where is she getting the drugs from him? Oh, no doubt. From him and his
crew. So therefore, you should be still liable for her death. That's not an accidental death. If a
grown-ass man provides a 13-year-old girl with drugs.
Could have been drinking, could have been on drugs, could have took a bad fall.
Yeah, something needs to happen here because I'm not, I'm not resting easy with this at all.
No, it's all about precedent, too.
I mean, what are we kind of example are we setting?
Exactly.
And it feels like nobody cares.
Hey, if you kill someone, hide the body really good, let enough time pass and you get a, if
you're in California, you get less than a year?
What the hell is going on with California?
What are we doing?
What the hell is going on with California?
A 13-year-old girl can die in your house, if that's what happened, or in your presence, and you don't have to report it and nothing will happen to you?
That's bad.
What is that, California?
Get your shit together.
I don't know what's going on there.
But, yeah, that's all we have.
Yeah, listen, let us know what you guys think in the comments below.
This is a big case for the reasons we're saying right now.
Loss of a young girl, a lot going on here, a lot we can learn from.
You have someone who is in a position of a little bit of power, who's kind of flexed.
in their muscles with their with their wallet and the if this was anybody else they would have
probably given a statement by now but because he has these high profile attorneys working for him
they're basically saying hey we're looking at all the specifics be honest with us yeah based on
what you're telling us you can't say anything because from a legal perspective and just from
a career perspective any comment you make right now is not going to be accepted well so you're
just better off staying quiet he didn't even make a statement like um they are
Maybe he did.
Maybe saying I'm letting my attorneys work this one out.
I don't know.
I don't think he said anything.
Doesn't look great.
No problem with the attorney, but to not make up, if you're not involved with anything
and you're just completely getting tied up into something that you have no involvement,
come out and say that.
There's no reason to worry because if that's the truth, you should have nothing to sweat,
then if that's how it's going to work out, come out and say, I am innocent of everything
that's being reported.
It doesn't look great.
I'm cooperating with authorities.
I'll be available and in touch with you guys with an update as soon as you.
I can, but for reasons that are above my control right now, I got to, I got to just stay quiet.
But trust me, I'm not involved in this in any way, shape, or form.
Yeah.
He has not said that.
No, I don't like this at all, guys.
I don't like it at all.
