Starting point is 00:00:00 Insurance isn't one-size-fits-all, and shopping for it shouldn't feel like squeezing into something that just doesn't fit. That's why drivers have enjoyed progressives' name-your-price tool for years. With the name-your-price tool, you tell them what you want to pay, and they show you options that fit your budget. Enough hunting for discounts, trying to calculate rates, and tinkering with coverages. Maybe you're picking out your very first policy. Or maybe you're just looking for something that works better for you and your family. Either way, they make it simple to see your options. No guesswork, no surprises.
Starting point is 00:00:34 Ready to see how easy and fun shopping for car insurance can be? Visit progressive.com and give the name your price tool a try. Take the stress out of shopping and find coverage that fits your life on your terms. Progressive Casualty Insurance Company and Affiliates. Price and coverage match limited by state law. This is really fun. We're doing a segment for Nerdus that we call Celebra D&D. where we have celebrities play Dungeons and Dragons.
Starting point is 00:01:01 Yes, I heard about this. What we're doing? Yeah, we're taking you on a D&D adventure. Who? There he is. No shit. Hi, Riley. Hello, Riley.
Starting point is 00:01:14 What's up? Hi, guys. How are you doing? How are you doing? How are you doing? I'm doing okay. These days are always so exciting. I get to see your faces,
Starting point is 00:01:22 and we get to talk about this project, like, show and tell, because I'm very excited for the world to see it. I'm excited to have a piece of it. And just seeing your faces reminds me of the, of the time I had filming it, which was fun. My God, no kidding. I love my job. I love my job.
Starting point is 00:01:38 We're going to do a brief break from the show and tell here because do you all know what we're doing here for this segment of the junk? Okay, this is really fun. We're doing a segment for nerdists that we call Celebra D&D where we have celebrities play Dungeons and Dragons. Yes, I heard about this.
Starting point is 00:01:55 So what we're doing? Yeah, we're taking it on a D&D adventure. Oh, serious. No shit. Have you done this? I've never played this game before. You're gonna be so good at this. Oh, well, now you'll never be able to say again,
Starting point is 00:02:08 I haven't played D&D. So Michael, the way it's gonna work basically is I'm going to lead you on improvised adventure that is going to use dice as a randomizer. Now, I don't know if they gave you dice rollers. If they didn't, that's fine. I can roll dice for you. That's what you can do.
Starting point is 00:02:24 This is gonna be wild. It's gonna be random. We're gonna see where it goes. And I'm gonna, I'm gonna have have fun. I hope y'all have fun too. Let's do it. Let's play. What are you waiting for?
Starting point is 00:02:34 Come on. So I got three characters for you. You're all going to be goblins, because I thought that was fitting for what's happening with today. And we're talking about. So I think, Michael, I'm going to give you the barbarian. That's kind of the easiest one. It's just brute strength. You're going to be the tough guy.
Starting point is 00:02:49 You're going to be the guy who's got a lot of strength, and you're going to use a lot of force for your decision-making. Is that you can get away? That's what I do in normal life. So I'm good. And then I got a rogue and a druid. So which one of you wants to cast a magic? Nathan, pick it.
Starting point is 00:03:01 I want to, I'm the druid. Okay, Nathan's the druid, and Flewley, you're going to be the rogue. So I'm going to, I'll roll for y'all. I have your seats in front of me. We're pretty simple, stripped-down version of the game. So what's going to happen is I'm just going to put a series of scenarios in front of you. I'll let you, you'll kind of improvise as your characters, and then we will figure out what's going to happen from there.
Starting point is 00:03:21 So first thing I want you to do is to think of a name for your character. So Michael, what's the name of your barbarian goblin? Uh, how about Arnold? Arnold, got it. You are now Arnold the Goblin. Perfect. All right, Nathan, what do you got for me for your Druid? Jolene. Jolene? Yeah, Jolene. Jolene Glaploc. Jolene Glaploc.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Yeah, don't take my band, though, okay. All right. And then I flew it, what we got for you for your, your rogue? My robe? Rogue. You're like a, you're like a, like, think of like a goblin, like essentially a suicide. You're a rogue. You're a scoundrel. You sneak around. An adventurer. I've just taken a shower, and so I'm just... Rooges don't take showers. It's a robe.
Starting point is 00:04:07 You're a rogue. Roegs Gallery. It's your name. Lots of robes. Okay. Bloopsie is the name of my robe. Bloopsis is spelled with two zeros, not O's, and there's not an E. It's BL00 PSI.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Like 10 per square inch. Bloopsie, the Roe. Okay, Bloopsie the Rogue. I'm 100% cotton. Okay. going to start you. I'm playing a character to begin with. I'll be playing any characters you encounter throughout the little mini campaign we're going to do here. So the first character that you're going to meet from me is a character named Clark. Clark is your boss. He is what's called
Starting point is 00:04:45 a bug bear. He's kind of like a bigger, hairier goblin. He's about six foot tall, just covered in fur, nasty old pointy ears. He's always wearing like nasty, just like armor that's probably stolen for somebody else's dead body at some point, never cleaned afterwards. He's got a scent about him. We sense him before he gets there, right? Yeah, he is a musk. Yeah, you know, you know that Clark smell. You're hanging out in the goblin break room. You know when the boss is coming. You don't have to like... I got that.
Starting point is 00:05:10 I got skunk two times in a row in one night, so I know how that smells. I was there, I was there for that. That was... We're there that night, yes. Yes. So Clark has called you into his office, which is just a cave. And he says, I got a... I got a mission for you.
Starting point is 00:05:26 Oh, Clark, we're also doing so. I do the secret handshake. Slipp of the coin from the bet we had last week. And I'm like, no. All right. Nathan, I'm going to have you, I'm going to roll for you on that. I'm going to have a, you slip, you're slipping him a coin. So I'm going to have you do what's called a slight of hand check.
Starting point is 00:05:45 So I'm going to roll a D20 and see what happens to what happens here. We're going to add a 1. Your slide of hand is plus 1. So we're going to see how well you are able to slip this coin in without your friends seeing it. All right, so you rolled a 12. I'm going to say it's pretty smooth, but if anyone's looking, I'm going to say especially our friend Bloopsie here with Bloopsie's perception as a rogue as someone who was good at keeping an eye on things. Bloopsie, you notice a coin just exchanged hands between your buddy here and your boss. What do you think about that? Hey, Jolene and also Clark, I observated a coin. What denomination? And may I have a piece?
Starting point is 00:06:24 Oh, don't even worry about it. That's just a little thing. I lost a bet to Clark last week. I'm just paying up. Great, sounds good. Listen, Clark, we're all hard up for a little cash, if you know what I mean. And we need a job. All right. Here's the job. We got these two idiots coming by on a horse.
Starting point is 00:06:42 There's a dwarf named Gundren Rock Seeker and his buddy Sildar. They're carrying some goods. I need you to kidnap them and bring them back here. So you want the humans and the dwarf back? Yeah, don't kill them. Do we get the goods? Catch them alive. If you any goods they're carrying, but they have a map, I need the map.
Starting point is 00:07:04 I need the map and the living dwarf. The rest of you do whatever you want with. Oh, excellent. I got to warn you, they got some buddies coming down the road after them. You ain't going to be able to handle them. So you want to get them kidnapped and get back here quickly. How many buddies they got coming? Probably about three or four.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Oh, you shit. Too many. That's too many for us. We're just gone. Three or four buddies. Three or four is just getting me warmed up. We got honored on our team. I like your confidence.
Starting point is 00:07:33 I want this mission going smooth. Oh, my God. You're going to have to maybe add maybe 30 more to that. And then we're thinking here. Then we're cooking. Well, I don't want a road full of bodies. I want two people brought back here a lot. That's what I want.
Starting point is 00:07:50 You're cutting out all the fun, kiddo. That's the fun part leaving the bodies. Arnold, Arnold, relax. Listen, we sell down. This is a surgical strike. I know just what to do. Well, surgical strikes aren't my deal. You go do your surgical strikes.
Starting point is 00:08:08 You come with me. I'll watch your back to. Let's get out of here. These guys are coming right now. We got to go. I'll watch your back door. Time is of the essence here. Look, they'll probably chase you here and then you can kill them all you want.
Starting point is 00:08:20 All right. We're ready. We're ready to hit this mission. Okay, great. Let's do it. I've done this before. It's called the switcher room. With my druid magic.
Starting point is 00:08:27 I just create a path. It's basically a side path in the road in the woods and I obscure the actual road. So where they're actually going, they will be diverted into an ambush where we await them. I will help you. My robe will hide the other path. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:08:49 We're going to use, we're going to, let's go with that. We're going to go with that idea. Use your robe to help obscure the other path. I will divert with my magics. I'll create a bad, make them think that they're on the right path. Oh, beautiful. Should I jump out?
Starting point is 00:09:06 Although, should I jump out and create a diversion? Once they're past, I want you to get that robe down so that if their buddies come, their buddies are gone. They can't even if they want to help. You know what I mean? Oh, but I don't get to fight them. They don't get to follow us.
Starting point is 00:09:20 I'm going to jump out, create a diversion, and allow them to follow us after you guys move on forward. Yeah, and they'll follow me. And then when we get them back to where we need to have them, I get to kill them, okay? And then I'll open up my road. Okay, wait.
Starting point is 00:09:35 So if I understand the plan here, the plan is that Jolene, you were going to create a fake path to trick them. Yes, sir. Greetings, adventurers. Spring has sprung here in Los Angeles, and that means it's a brief period where it's only 75 degrees
Starting point is 00:09:51 instead of 95 degrees. I'll take it. And that means I've been outside a lot more. Walking around, occasionally galloping after a toddler hopped up on juice boxes, traveling a bit. You know the vibe. And after doing some spring cleaning, my wardrobe, I got to say, looking a little bit sad. I want clothes that can keep up with me and my son, but updating my wardrobe every spring sounds pretty expensive.
Starting point is 00:10:14 So that's why I wound up signing up for Fabletics as a VIP. It let me overhaul my springtime outfits without obliterating my bank account. New VIPs unlock major savings on that first purchase, so trying new fits feels way more doable. When I signed up as a new VIP with Fabletics, I got 70 to 80% off everything. It made it easy to grab a few new pieces without overthinking it. And the quality really surprised me. Everything feels premium and soft and breathable, but you're not paying those premium prices. What I like most, though, is how versatile everything is.
Starting point is 00:10:47 You've got stuff you can work out in, but also wear out. There's matching sets, lightweight hoodies. joggers, teas, you name it. The kind of stuff you can throw on in the morning and not worry about later. When I'm at home, my favorite thing to pull on is the oversized hoodie. It's so comfy I could just live in it 24-7. It's perfect for walking my dog on like a chilly night. But when I'm out and about, I've really been loving the ribbed Johnny Collar polo.
Starting point is 00:11:10 It makes me look like I should be taking a high-powered meeting by the pool at the White Lotus, but hopefully with less murder involved. I don't know. It's insanely comfortable. I highly recommend it. So shop now at fabletics.com. slash critical role to get 70 to 80% off everything when you sign up as a new VIP. Take a quick style quiz and be sure to select critical role when prompted to unlock your 70 to 80% off.
Starting point is 00:11:33 This is a limited time offer, so don't wait. Again, that's fablatics.com slash critical role for 70 to 80% off everything as a new VIP. And now, on to the show. Greetings, Adventures, Lentures. Lately, I've been getting a bit more intentional about what I wear from day to day, because instead of just falling out of whatever laundry baskets nearby, I've been leaning into pieces that feel easy and comfortable, but still put together because it just makes getting dressed simpler when I have a plan.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Quince has been my go-to to help with that, because the fabrics feel elevated, the fits are clean, and everything just works without me needing to overthink it. And Quintz has all the wardrobe staples you need for spring. Think 100% European linen shorts and shirts from just $34. They're lightweight, they're breathable, they're comfortable, your legs, and torso will thank you, and you will still look put together. And clean, 100% Pima Cotton Tees with a softness, well, you gotta feel that to believe it, believe you me.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Their pants also hit that same balance. They're relaxed, they're comfortable, but still polished enough to wear basically anywhere. And everything's priced between 50 and 80% less than what you'd find at similar brands. Quince works directly with ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen, so you're getting premium materials without the markup. And since spring is here in Los Angeles, a brief period where it's 75 degrees instead of 95 degrees, I spruced up my wardrobe with a pair of the comfort stretch traveler five pocket pants and the heritage washed denim shirt. Not only do they feel great, but I unequivocally look good as hell while wearing them.
Starting point is 00:13:09 That's just science. So refresh your every day with luxury you'll actually use. Head to quince.com slash critical role for free shipping on your order and 365 day return. Now available in Canada too. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.com slash critical roll for free shipping and 365-day returns. Quince.com slash critical role. And Bloopsie, you're going to essentially flash them out of your robe. And then when you're doing that, Arnold, you're going to jump out and you're going to attack them.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Well, he's using his robe to obscure the other path. You're using the robe. Okay, so your robe is like camouflage. Extra. Yeah, yeah, that's right. But I'm going to jump out. and cause a diversion after he's created his path and they will follow me after these guys
Starting point is 00:13:57 scurry along after they've kidnapped the guy eventually the guys think they're going on the right path anyway we're not really kidnapping we're just tricking them right okay yeah and then I would open my robe I would open it and everyone can watch it so you open it and they will come oh but fields of dreams it's my field of dreams yeah all right so So y'all head down. There's a path that leads to this clearing where these people are going to be coming through. So, Jeline, how are you, what are you doing magic-wise to redirect this path?
Starting point is 00:14:33 I'm calling on my abilities as a druid to influence the growth of plants and trees. I'm going to open a path and kind of use that energy to kind of balance out because you've got to take and give energy when we can deal with plants. I'm basically going to just pull some growth from one area. Landscaping is what I'm going to do. Okay. You have a spell that is on your sheet that is called Entangle. And what that spell usually does is let plants grow up that will grab people and pull them and hold them in place.
Starting point is 00:15:02 So I'm going to say that you cast your spell of Entangle. And what that does is it causes a block in the path so that if people come through, they get caught up in it. So they're going to try to go around that to avoid that, right? Nice. This is working out great. That's my role. And then Bloopsie, you are, describe your. robe. You are a big fan of this robe. So what does it look like to you? Describe what
Starting point is 00:15:23 bloopsie looks like and what his robe looks like. A bloopsy is a robe, which has some loophies, some loophies where you can put the rope around so you can hide all of the downtown places. But if you want to show that or if you just want to spread the wings and fly away, you can just open it up and then that is a magic power because I have a robe. Okay. We'll say it's a stealth check because you are you were trying to disguise yourself and hide as if you are a bit of path that's blocking the way but you're actually a robe yes that's correct i'm a robe great you are a rope we have that definitely you are you're bloopsie the robe are you made a terrycloth what do you made of i'm made of you know have you slept before in a sleeping bag i have slept in sleeping bag yes
Starting point is 00:16:09 flannel he's a flannel robe flannel robe yeah i think early 90s nirvana concert um cotton shirts. That's, that is my robe. Final shirt, got it. Like a sleeping bag, is it also down? Is there downfilled? I'm down for anything. As, as this robe, I will, whatever you want, it's happening. That's my bloopsie. That's my blootsie. That's what bloopsie do, as they say. So, yeah, I'm going to go ahead and make for you, bloopsy.
Starting point is 00:16:40 I'm going to make a stealth check to see how well you are able to pass yourself off as a bit of foliage so that people think there's not a road there. Okay. So you're stealth, you have proficiency in stealth being a rogue robe. You have a plus five to this roll. I'm going to roll a D20. We're going to see what you got here. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:00 Bloopsie, you just got what we call in Dungeons and Dragons a natural 20, which means that on a 20-sided dice. A double 20 or some shit like that, right? I can tell you why I know this. My dad and my mom zero work done, both natural tens. So that does make sense. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I can see that.
Starting point is 00:17:18 So you are shockingly good at passing as nature for being a sentient robe. You somehow, even though you're made of flannel, you just happen to have the exact right color of this natural trail. Just the flannel that you have has little bits of green and some brown in it. So these people coming up, they think that there's just a bunch of bushes and stuff there. It's just a robe. It's just a robe. It's just a robe.
Starting point is 00:17:46 You have created a robe. Now, you, Jolene, you have created some tangled up weeds. Now, Arnold, this might be your time to shine. We have got ourselves two people riding horses here. You're a big, strong, tough dude. What are you going to do about it? How are you going to capture them?
Starting point is 00:18:01 I'll capture them. Can you live? Well, no, I just jump on in between the horses. I grab their reins, their mouthpieces, and I put them in a semi-half headlock, and I lead them my way. All right. All right. I like this move.
Starting point is 00:18:15 I'm gonna give you what's called a, I mean, have you roll for strength because you're strong, you're big, you're beefy. And because you are a barbarian, you get a special ability called rage. And when you use your rage, you get to add, you get to roll with advantage on strength checks, which means that I'm gonna roll the dice for you twice
Starting point is 00:18:34 and take the higher of the two rolls. This makes so much sense. All right, so we're gonna roll this. So, R-Ly-Riley, why? Are you rolling? Where are you from? I've heard the delicious word y'all emanate from you. Please tell me your origins. I am from the state of Ohio. That's not the middle of the Buckeye State. That's correct. Are you from the, are you from Ohio, Michael?
Starting point is 00:18:55 I'm Chicago. Oh, okay. Good west. All right. All right. I've traveled many times to your state. It's a delightful state. We've got a chili and stuff. It's good. Michael, you got yourself a, I rolled a 16 on the dice, plus your strength, which is a three, so you've got yourself a 19. So I'm going to say you succeeded and you were able to slam these two guys' heads together and pull them off the horses, and they are now in your custody. And now, what are you going to do next? Well, to celebrate, I'm making some of that famous Ohio chili to feed on me.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Yeah, we get a little funnel and put it down there. put it down their gullets, and then they fill up their bellies. Their bellies are all filled up. And then we use the gases that occur afterwards to speed us along. Yeah. Okay. We have a druid. This is why we have a druid.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Keep these guys on task. Look, guys, Clark gave us a job. He wants the map and he wants the dwarf. Got them both. We got everything they have. First of all, I want them tied up, and we need them searched. You got to tie them up before we feed them? But Jolene, they're flagellating now, Jolene.
Starting point is 00:20:08 They're like two of the dogs are the matter-ending story. They're just out of control. Okay, Jolene, I'm going to ask you as a druid. How are you going to tie these guys up so you can search them? Well, listen, we've got those vines from the entanglement right back there. I'm just going to grab a couple of those. They're very strong. They've been bewed with magic.
Starting point is 00:20:26 So I'm just going to wrap them up with those kinds of things. I'm not going to do it. Personally, I'm going to have Arnold doing. I'll just grab them by their ankles, flip them up. down and I shake them and all the shit comes out. Yeah. Okay. I'm going to roll for both of you.
Starting point is 00:20:43 I'm going to roll for Jolene. I'm going to roll to see how well you're able to re- repurpose these vines as now ropes that you're going to tangle with. I'm going to say that's a survival role and you are proficient in survival. So you're going to get a plus four on this rolls. Let's see what you get here. That is an 18, so you are successfully able to take those ropes. I think you might want to give you.
Starting point is 00:21:05 them to a bloopsie because if anyone knows how to use threads, it's the robe, right? Yes. Robs and loops and tying things up. You're absolutely right. And while you're doing that, your buddy, your buddy Arnold is shaking this human and this dwarf and you're shaking them up trying to see if anything falls out of their pockets. Let's see what you got here. Everything will come out. All right. So you got a 17 this time on the, sorry, you got an 18 this time on your role to shake amount. So you do indeed find a map. You also find the recipe for good old-fashioned Ohio style Cincinnati Chili. You find yourself a really fancy belt that might look nice with a good
Starting point is 00:21:48 robe. It's not that belt. You know, like when you find a bro, you're like, you know, this isn't the belt that you're always losing the belts that come with robes, right? But now you have a new replacement belt. Oh, bam. And I give it a wonderful day. Thank you, Arnold. Thank you. And I'm excited to cook this very delicious Columbus-based chili. No, not Ohio. As far as
Starting point is 00:22:12 next steps go, because guys, it feels like we've kind of achieved our goal. We've done everything except for hand these two guys over with the map, which was part of the job. Now we've got to proceed, right? Now, I'm just wondering, now, do we first,
Starting point is 00:22:30 maybe we talk to these guys and say, what's up? Why does someone want this map and why does someone want this dwarf so, so bad? I like that. Maybe we can play two angles here.
Starting point is 00:22:44 I mean, if it's worth our knowing this information, maybe we can hold the other folks that we're delivering them to a little bit in ransom and we can get a little bit more of money. Great. Let's play. I've heard of this role, good robe, bad robe.
Starting point is 00:23:01 I'll be good. I'll be bad robe. I can have like a little robe as well. Okay. Not like a robe, but a really scratchy kind of animal covering or something. Okay. I'm going to say you're making what's called an intimidation check because you're playing bad robe and you're trying to scare them with your strength. And you've got, I'm also giving you advantage on this role with me. I'm going to roll twice and take the better of the two roles because you got your good robe here helping you out and adding to the intimidation techniques. So this is really good teamwork on all three of your parts, I want to say, by the way.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Thank you. Of course. We are. We are a team. All right. Well, we got another 18 on the dice for that one. We got 15 plus three. So you, the guy, you were shaking this dwarf.
Starting point is 00:23:50 He was knocked out, but you actually shake him so much playing bad road that you wake them back up again. I think it's the smell of that skunk that you got on you. It's like, it's like smelling salts, brings him right back up again. And he's like, what do you want with us? Well, you know what I need to do? I need to give them a little squeeze. I got to squeeze their little heads and squeeze out all the information they have. So your plan is to crush his head to get the information inside of it.
Starting point is 00:24:18 I'm not, I don't mean crush. I mean, just squeeze. Your plan is slowly escalating torture. Yes. Well, you already got a pretty high intimidation. So I'm not going to make you re-roll for this. I think that this is successful. I think this is a pretty solid strategy.
Starting point is 00:24:36 I know that if a big burly goblin grabbed me and started squeezing my head for a long period of time, I would be pretty intimidated. What do you want to know? We want to know. Yeah, we want to know all about the map. Whose map is it? Where does it lead to? What's at the end of the map? The money.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Money is at the end of the map. Why is someone want? We might be able to get more money from both parties. Oh. And while you guys question. I'll be on the floor with my robe open, and then you can just hold his head, and the answers will squeeze and drizzle into the road.
Starting point is 00:25:09 While you're talking. Typical interrogation scene that we've seen a thousand times. You're right. A thousand times. And CSI, New York, and over and over again, right? And my Pee D. Blue, season two, episode four. Hello. Where do you think bloopsie came from?
Starting point is 00:25:23 All right, so Jolene, you started asking some questions, right? What's your first question? Because the other two are on the, they're on the brute street. strength aspect of it, but you seem to be the one who has actual questions to ask. So I want to know what is the importance of this map? Where does it lead? Why do why does someone want you so badly what's I want to know what's going on? This is the map to the lost mine of Fandelver. My family is the Fandelger? Van Delver, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Doi. Okay, now why do we need then why do, if we have the map, why do we need the dwarf? What's so important about you. But you need my blood to open the mind. That's easy. I'm catching it right now. Fresh blood. No, you can't just kill me and bottle it now and take it to, no, that's not how that works. No. You got to keep me alive. We'll keep you alive. We don't even have to kill you after we take your blood. Guys, guys, guys, huddle up, huddle up. Listen, if we bring this dwarf in this dwarf into our boss, Glaploc. Blop. Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah. Blu, Blu, Blu, Blu, Blur. The war is over and both sides lost.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Kingdoms were reduced to cinders, an army scattered like bones in the dust. Now the survivors claw to what's left of a broken world, praying the darkness chooses someone else tonight. But in the shadow dark, the darkness always wins. This is old school adventuring at its most cruel. Your torch ticks down in real time. And when that flame dies, something else. rises to finish the job. This is a brutal rules-light nightmare with a story that emerges organically based on the decisions that the characters make. This is what it felt like to play RPGs

This is Mick Unplug, the voice and face of modern leadership entrepreneur, and self-improvement. Let's get started. Glaploc, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Bloop-ice, Blap-Lock. No, Jolene, you're Glaploc. That's your last name. Oh, that's why that name sounds so familiar. Come close to so we can whisper. Think Italian filmmaker. We'll make a little bit of money for handing these guys in the map over. I think we could make a lot more money for whatever the map leads to
Starting point is 00:29:00 and whatever his, this elf, this dwarf's blood opens. I think our best plan. Agree. So we do. We go along with it until we decide, okay, we're going to take whatever's in this mine and take it for ourselves. I'm on board. I think this is a carnal. I think you've got this.
Starting point is 00:29:24 And then I'm going to open up on my road. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think this is the plan. I think we're all playing to our strengths here. Okay, break, break. Okay. So the plan, the plan that I understand is that you're going to go to the mine.
Starting point is 00:29:38 yourselves and... No, no, no. We're going to their mind with everyone. Okay. We're bringing them along. We're going to bring him on that dwarf because we need his blood. And you're going to open your robe. Gotcha.
Starting point is 00:29:48 I'm going to open my rope just to be clear. Okay. I'm going to say that in the time that you have spent talking about this, you have eaten up the clock of when Gundren and his buddy's backup are coming, but the three or four people that you were warned about earlier. We're going to wrap this up with a little bit of combat. And so they have now arrived. They are pulling a big little cart.
Starting point is 00:30:10 So we've got four people that are running up to you, and they have found the two horses on the ground that you've pulled these guys off of, and now they're running towards you with swords and arrows, and they're ready to go. What do you do? Arnold. He opens his robe.
Starting point is 00:30:25 I take a running leap, and I turn as a log, and I roll right underneath their feet and knock them off their feet. Okay. All jump on top of this and subdue it. Okay. I am going to start with you then. Yeah. Oh.
Starting point is 00:30:43 We, that's like here. So we actually had, that was only an eight to attack. Oh, no problem. Arnold, you go for it. But I think what happens is you slip in a little bit of mud. You go right down into the dirt and you don't manage to make your bowling pin strategy work out with these guys. Jeline, what's your attempt? What are you going to try to do to stop these guys?
Starting point is 00:31:01 You, by the way, you can attack, you can do your entangle or you actually have a magic stick that you can attack with. That's pretty tough. and you also have the ability to use a whip of thorns to attack if you want to do that, Joey. Oh my god, you guys save my ass. I'm gonna go, I'm gonna start right in there with that whip of thorns. I think it's a little bit of, make sure something's,
Starting point is 00:31:23 it's smart. It's gotta stay. Let's see how this goes. And then I'll open up my robe. You got yourself, that robe is open. That robe closes and opens again. It's a revolving, it's a revolving door with this robe here. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:31:35 I am gonna say you get advantage of us attack because of that robe so let's go ahead and say all right yeah you got yourself an 18 to attack with the magic thorn whip so I say you've described for me Nathan how how Jolene throws this whip out and how it takes down one of these people well it's kind of a swirling motion but when it when it when it goes out what we're getting is one of those wraparound and I'm getting like a full wrap on four guys and if I because they're distracted they're looking down at Arnold right now and as I as it as I'm pulling it's also contracting so
Starting point is 00:32:07 it's scraping, some of the stinging nettles. Okay, yeah, I think with that role that you got, with the help you were getting from your robe buddy here, and from the aid of Arnold just eating it right in front of them, I think that you got it. I think you succeeded. So I think you have now managed to wrap up these four people, and they are now wrapped up in a thorn whip,
Starting point is 00:32:30 and what do you want to do with them? I'm going to say, Arnold, we can't afford these guys coming after us again. Oh, well, please. They're all wrapped up. Now all I have to do is just step on their little niggins. Oh, I was going to say, just talk to them and convince them not to follow us. You do your thing. I'm not going to micromanage.
Starting point is 00:32:48 I think you're saying that, Jeline, as Arnold has already stepped on one of their heads. Oh, no. And that, okay, well, now we can't have witnesses. No. There are little grapes anymore. They're no longer heads with thinking about it. I feel a little helpless to stop what's already kind of happening. And it looks like he's having so much fun.
Starting point is 00:33:07 We cannot have witnesses. Okay, so I will, I will kill myself with my robe. So I've now suffocated myself. No, you're good. Oh, wow. You're good. You're good. When I say, everybody drop your weapons.
Starting point is 00:33:21 The assumption is that you're on my team, you guys keep your weapons. Oh, but technically I'm a witness. If I were to testify, I, let's see. So I should. Well, because we're gobbins, you can't be. All right. I believe that what happened here was that slowly, Arnold worked his way through popping the heads off each of these people that were being held up by Jalene's Thorn Whip.
Starting point is 00:33:44 Now, Bloopsie, where did you land on surviving this encounter? Does you decide you're going to stick with them, or did you decide you were going to take yourself out of the equation? I've committed suicide with my rope, and so I just, I don't want to testify against my friends, so I'm dead. Wow. So do you go back to Clark, or do you go off with yourselves and this dwarf and this map and try to find the treasure for yourself? Oh, it's a treasure and we go. Listen, now the bloopsie's dead, I've kind of lost heart a little bit. Oh, you're still Canadian.
Starting point is 00:34:15 Come on, hop on, hop on my back. I'll carry you. I've suffered so much loss. I don't want to have to. I'm just going to wrap up this job. And when I bring these guys in, I put the map down and the dwarf down, I'm going to say, I'm out. I need it this time. Nice.
Starting point is 00:34:29 Oh, my God. That's beautiful. I pick up the goddamn map. I pick up that map, and I take it and I put it in my little. pocket and I walk off a happy camper. I'm the only win-win situation in this situation. You guys and I'll be calling after you Arnold you don't know how to read. What a waste you commit suicide. And you go back to Ottawa. Give me a break. Unbelievable. This is a beautiful city, sir. So as we as we wrap on this adventure, we leave with Arnold wandering the hillside endlessly
Starting point is 00:35:06 trying to find where this map leads to. We end with Jolene going back. What does Jolene do in their retirement? He wasn't really planning. He thought it was just going to be a job like any other. And he lost so much. He's just going to be, you know, tossing back, you know, fermented honey in little mushroom cups.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Talking about us glory days. I was somebody once. And that is where we will end our adventure with a dead robe, dead on the inside, goblin and another goblin who will never find the cave. Thank you gentlemen so much for this ridiculous, ridiculous encounter. Riley, thank you for putting up with us.
Starting point is 00:35:47 Thank you, my pleasure. That's all the time we have. Thank you again to Flula Borg, Michael Rooker, and Nathan Fillion, and make sure you go see the Suicide Squad in theaters on August 6th. Riley, do you think they'll be able to use any... Oh, I don't... I think we've stopped a while ago, but that's fine. I'm having fun if you're having fun. Welcome to Mick Unplugged, the number one podcast for self-improvement and modern leadership.
