Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey y'all, it's Kelly Clarkson with Wayfair. Ever order furniture online and wonder what if? Like, what if it doesn't hold up? That sofa was four days old. You should have ordered from Wayfair. With Wayfair, there's no what if. Just style you love and quality you can trust. Visit Wayfair.ca.
Starting point is 00:00:12 Wayfair, every style, every home. There's them back, but we did. What was once a prosperous river trade, the Mississippi is now the front line. The eastern states supply the river states. And what's left to the UA, live out. their meager day self policing what is the west hiding nobody really knows for sure but we're alive and this is the new frontier guys welcome back we have another episode of we're
Starting point is 00:00:56 alive frontier wow sized up and ready for you last when we met our expeditioners going out through the missouri river runner route we were coming back from the salt mines in order to acquire some specific tools that can be used in order to hopefully help the new havenites. And that specific piece of equipment is explosives. So it came at a cost, but Jenny, through sheer will and determination, managed to grab a hold of some of the explosives that were left over in the back end of the mine. And, well, they made it out for now. Also, I have the film canisters that I've been putting in my backpack. You took precious seconds while being pursued in order to grab literally the first two canisters you could find,
Starting point is 00:01:48 which happened to be gone with the wind and Citizen Kane, which of course they would put that right next to the door. Sure. Yeah. But fair enough. You grab them, you have them, and then Max, with his bundled up wing. Yeah. is with Kent. So you continue the journey back to New Haven and respectful silence for Fillmore, who did not make it back out.
Starting point is 00:02:20 You can tell Johnson's having a hard time with it. Every once in a while, you look over to him, and he can catch a little wetness in his eyes, and he just seems to not be wanting to make eye contact with anyone. And Marian has a shift in her demeanor where you can't tell if she's upset or angry or a strong combination of both.
Starting point is 00:02:47 In fact, some of you are starting to feel like maybe, maybe she's trying to decide if this was truly worth it or not. And part of her understands, well, it's hard to tell. One life, many lies. it's always hard. So, make it back to New Haven with little incident. And you watch as she, she being Marion, basically, drops you off in the front and without even acknowledging a goodbye,
Starting point is 00:03:23 just kind of walks in through the front gate, kind of leaving you with Johnson, who is looking at his feet, as he says. Well, I'll let Jermaine know that you guys are back. Good luck. Thanks. And sorry. He died so that others will live.
Starting point is 00:03:55 That's what I'm telling myself. But doesn't make dinner at home an easier. As he goes home and walks back in, you hear the creaking of the door. Kind of shut behind him. As the gates of New Haven are closed for the moment. Should we head back and take off what we need to take off and you know because I know we had extra stuff and stuff It was specifically for this mission
Starting point is 00:04:23 Before you pass out, I'm gonna ask you about the film scavenge And if you're trying to barter it or if you want me to go out and with Stingray and get somewhere Yeah, go ahead. I don't I'm not really a movie guy Okay, here you go get something good You can give them the scavenge cards. I'm just gonna change the value onto that a little bit There they are. Raith wants to show his jammed gun to Jenny. He's like I started shooting, it stopped.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Oh, it's jammed. She takes a look at it and fiddles with it. Just got to pull the slide back, have the ejected shell come out, and then clear it as a new bullet slides into place. Safety's on. Oh, thank you. It's simpler with this.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Kent, Ray, are you going in? Yeah, we'll go into the quartermaster. So as you walk back up to the quartermaster, a mousy gentleman, probably in his mid-40s, with a pair of spectacles that are about as big as his pupils. And he has long, they have tiny, tiny spectacles. And he kind of sees he has like a long sleeve with fingerless gloves and an inkwell.
Starting point is 00:05:46 with feather quill. Feather quill. Yes. As he's writing in a ledger that looks like it's been made up of old pre-war notebooks, you know, that he is taking the papers off and has made his own binding for it
Starting point is 00:06:03 as he kind of flips them open. He might actually be the guy who wants that film if he's that old school. Maybe. Hey, guess who's back? Yes, it's you. Hello. Yeah. What can I do for you?
Starting point is 00:06:18 Well, we had some success in getting what we needed for the town. Oh, you found the dynamite. But unfortunately, we still haven't had great success finding what we need for us. And what was that again? We're looking for medical supplies still. Right. Well, everyone needs medical supplies, including us. Well, maybe we've found a few things that we think might be worth your time looking at. You're not a film buff, are you?
Starting point is 00:06:43 That's an odd question. We do have a DVD player that's inside of the community center that we show films on an occasion, the monthly movie watchalong. Not really my taste. You can only watch Big Bumpin' Five so many times. Then you might be very interested in what we've got. I don't know how you can make it work,
Starting point is 00:07:08 but we've got something that might be more you taste. I'm listening. Gone with the wind, an American classic. I'm infinitely aware I was born before the fall, thank you very much. And yes, that sounds infinitely better than any of the rabble that we have in here. We might also be able to sweeten that deal depending on what you can sweeten for us. All right, well, can I see the DVDs at least first? That's the tricky spot.
Starting point is 00:07:34 What do you mean the tricky spot? It's film. Oh, you're telling me that you found a film archive? Can I see the cats? Kind of pulls him up and looks at the, changing spectrously, like kind of looks at the running. Oh my God, it's amazing, but we can't do anything with it. We don't even have a projector here.
Starting point is 00:08:08 We have an engineer, and I have a feeling we might be able to jury rig something together. Well, we do potentially maybe have some old materials to put together, but this is all figurative. What do you even want for something like this? What have you got in your pharmaceutical store? We have antiseptics, we have antibacterials, we have painkillers, anything from over the counter
Starting point is 00:08:36 to pharmaceutical dosages, we have a large part of sterile bandages, splints. What about emergency supplies? I mean high end, I mean like amiodarone and epinephrine. An epinephrine? Is anyone having an other reaction? No, but we're on the road for a long time here, and God only knows what we're going to come across.
Starting point is 00:08:53 I understand that. We use up a lot on your little girl Sarah that you brought in earlier. Understood. It is one of the hardest things to find when we're out here. So for your film, Cairns, I can go talk to Jermaine. If you can maybe get something working that we can actually watch it on,
Starting point is 00:09:10 maybe he's willing to go and put something to that. I'll put in the word. That's as much as I can promise at the moment. All right, I mean, it is gone with the wind. I know. I'm gonna pet the falcon in my jacket real quick. Nice bird. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:28 I saw that you have a lot of school kids out here too. Max was recently, where he took a tumble. You might need to lay up for a little bit, and I can't think if anyone better to take care of this little bird than maybe some sweet little hands. Oh. Let me talk to the school matron, so, you know. Maybe we could leave him here for a little bit,
Starting point is 00:09:51 and then you'd have a good idea that we're gonna come back. Well, collateral or not, anyone's welcome to New Haven, as long as you're not any, well, let's just say that it is better to have people like you coming into the city than usually what we get around here. So anything coming from your end, well, we haven't seen anything, but anything coming from that end, and he points down the rail line where you were all going to is it's all bad business. Very bad business. Well, thanks for helping us out once we get past here, if we can get those supplies. Okay, great. I'll speak with Carla, and I'll speak with Germain about your bird and your films. Remind me who Carla is? I don't think we met her. Carla is Germain's wife who also runs the community center and the school.
Starting point is 00:10:40 Ah, yes, oh yes, thank you. If there's anything else? We need to make sure that the girl we left with you is taken care of also. She'll be fine. The doctor is very, very partial towards kids. He was a family man before all this happened. I'm sure he'll be fine. He has one of the sweetest hearts. Why don't you go talk to Germain,
Starting point is 00:10:59 and we'll see what we can do about getting that projector? When we have our meeting, we'll talk about it. I can't leave here and call her master. Anyway, goodbye. You watch, he kind of closes his shades, so as he pulls it down. Let's head back. You good?
Starting point is 00:11:17 I'm good. I wish we could have gotten something, but we'll take it for what we got. We might still get something. Chin up. Jenny. Yeah, so while these guys were gone, we've been talking about a plan for how we're gonna get this dynamite over to the dam. Yes, you should probably, just based on the reconnaissance from what you saw, man, I'm just gonna give you the lay a little bit, and you can use it into order to discuss your plans.
Starting point is 00:11:42 It is definitely a... Have you ever seen old photos of the Hoover Dam? Mm-hmm. Where it's incredibly thick on like both sides of it to kind of reinforce. but then it just kind of comes in at a bit of an arc. So the curve, and you can tell that the thinnest part of the dam from just layering at it is 100% in the center, you know, because that's where most of the pressure
Starting point is 00:12:07 is being laid up in there, but it's all being distributed along the side walls. Yeah. So while it's been built under water, it's like as the water rises, they're continuing to layer upon layer on top of it. So at any one particular time, the last time you looked at it, was only about five or six feet above the water line, but then they're out there all the time
Starting point is 00:12:29 adding new columns on top. And the material is wood and vomit. Well, what appears to be vomit. Okay. And you, with the binoculars, you're actually having a hard time kind of seeing everything that it's made out of. Because it's still, you know, it's still a little bit of ways,
Starting point is 00:12:52 downriver. It's a wood and sticky spit. Sticky spit. I was thinking we put the dynamite in a plastic bag in a canoe and we somehow get a canoe to the base of the dam on the side after where it's stopping the flow at the lowest point on the dam. When it reaches that point, Ray shoots it with a large caliber around.
Starting point is 00:13:17 It explodes and hopefully the dam is weakened enough that the work of the pressure from the water above does the rest. It's counting on me being a good shot, but I'm up for it. You know that you are. I'm asleep. The boat. I know I don't want any of us getting close to that. We can't risk another river runner, disrupting it either, like when we crossed.
Starting point is 00:13:46 All we have is that dynamite. That's our one shot. Is there another way for us to get it closer? Well, we could also attach meat to it and hope that a river runner takes it back to the dam. Maybe they're using the dam as, well, then how do we explore? As a home. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:07 But then again, a critical shot, but there we're worrying about where will the river runner be? Will he be at the point in the dam, which best serves our purpose? What might be helpful is getting a little closer to the dam so that you can kind of see specifics around it because at this point it is all just theory at this stage. Even looking through the binoculars you can see the infected but they seem to just be
Starting point is 00:14:31 working. You know they seem very focused on their work. So can we do a little recon mission? I think sounds about right. Speaking of which I burnt all of my risk making that last little incident happen but I haven't been doing myself the benefit of giving myself risk as you guys have been going out on missions. So I'm reminded of that now, and now as you're beginning this recon mission, for the five of you going out, I'll at least get five back. If you guys are going while I'm sleeping, because I need the long rest to get rid of my difficulty dice. It depends on how long I have to rest to kind of be out. Eight hours.
Starting point is 00:15:07 So I'm out. You should stay, because, yeah, you should stay. Then I will take less risk. We'll leave him a note. BRB. May I suggest we take some of that moonshine with us, because I'll stay. If we're getting close to anywhere where they are, we're going to want to cover our scent. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Great. You want to buy some moonshine from the rail driver? Cool. How much? I mean, for the four of us? Well, let's get two liters. That'll cost you ten in order to get two liters, and that will put you at 98 survival points. I don't have to necessarily roll depletion for it yet, because you have a lot of moonshines still.
Starting point is 00:15:48 Better priorities are restrained. Well, they were. Coverage, coverage, coverage, coverage and stinky sticks. Yes. So you've got coverage, you've got enough to drown the four of you, and thick liquor. Delicious and nutritious. You can do a walk, is it just the four of you?
Starting point is 00:16:05 Yeah, you're open. Okay, hold on. And a note for Band-Dave. Your summer travels deserve an upgrade. With select Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles connected by OnStar, you can stream, game, and more on the go. Whether you're headed to a music festival or a cottage getaway,
Starting point is 00:16:25 you can access hundreds of apps on Google Play right from your center display. Explore OnStar Tech today at OnStar.ca and discover how to take your summer to the next level. OnStar. Better never stops. I think you drenched yourself in moonshine. Cool. You get close enough to the dam that you can see quite a bit of it. Both sides of the river are essentially covered in various. debris and as you get closer you can actually start to catch the woof of both that
Starting point is 00:17:01 excrement smell again like that thick kind of dung like pungent odor and death you can start to smell decaying bodies as you get closer you start to notice that the dam is not just built up of wood and flotsam but there is also animal carcasses, human carcasses, and every amount of organic material that is also shoved into this dam. And what you thought previously was spit them just vomiting onto things.
Starting point is 00:17:40 It starts off viscous and thick, but then you just watch it kind of like hardened, like into concrete. You can also see on the off side of the river, like towards the side that you are not on. There's actually an RV that seems like it's been moved and shoved in as part of this dam as well too. It's precariously poised as kind of like an anchor point
Starting point is 00:18:04 between the riverbank and the actual dam itself. And you can kind of see it jammed in there. Let me show you. Let's bring in the diorama. All right, so as you come closer to the dam, you actually are able to make it around the dam itself to see that the dry side of the dam has to be the dry side of the dam the dam has actually pretty much stopped the Missouri almost.
Starting point is 00:18:27 So much of the water is now on the wet side that it's been pulling it out, that a lot of the Missouri is actually nearly dried to the point where you can see most of the river bed below it with just only a couple of feet of water that's actually trickling through across its wide berth. The RV that I described earlier is actually on your side of the river,
Starting point is 00:18:51 where New Haven is. But you can see on the other side of an old cottage, at some point, maybe it may have been a small maintenance building. There also is a semi-truck that has ran itself into the water, and you can actually see a lot of the algae and the green growth that was underneath is now covering it completely. You can see, infected on both sides of the river,
Starting point is 00:19:16 some swimming lazily against the wet side of the dam, and some continue. to place materials, again, making it higher and higher as they continue to work. Do they appear to be on, around, near this RV at all? I mean, how... There's a few that seem to just be moving, but that is such a solid piece of barricade
Starting point is 00:19:40 that they seem a lot less interested in that than they are some of the more weaker pieces of the dam where a lot of their materials put together. They are so intent to do that. their work they don't even notice you at this moment and they sure don't smell us and they sure don't smell you is the river long enough is it too long for someone to throw a bottle across the side maybe too wide too wide excuse me excuse me is too wide to do that you have to be like an Olympian discus thrower okay to probably I got it
Starting point is 00:20:15 just kidding I'm gonna spend a result just hold yeah no it's a wide I mean you can see it to a little bit that's um that's like 200 feet Jenny you were about to say something yeah I've been thinking no I'd like to draw away the infected and I'm looking at this shed over here I mean what if we set fire to it get a bunch of our stink sticks anything just get them over there and I mean this RV it's it's a strong point for this dam. And, I mean, my first instinct was, let's go for the center, it's the weakest.
Starting point is 00:20:57 But if this was moved, all that water would come rushing through. And if we could manage to somehow do something with that and hit at the center? At the center or anywhere along that fault line. Do we want to use all of the dynamite in one place or separate it into multiple points? It looks like there's a propane tank or something
Starting point is 00:21:18 in the back of the RV. I'd like to get that. I'd like to get whatever's in the RV. Yes. I don't know if I want to waste any time scavenging. I think we should stick to one gold and complete that. There's so much risk. Do you think we could get across the river to the semi-form a decoy
Starting point is 00:21:37 while they run in, check out the RV, and maybe plant the dynamite? Cause a disturbance of some sort? If we just place this dynamite, because I don't have anything, I don't have anything that we can drill into the side. I mean, this is, it's a thick dam. Just laying the stick of dynamite at the center, maybe, maybe it could do enough damage, but maybe not.
Starting point is 00:22:02 That's why I'm looking at this RV. Agreed. Or something we could ram it with. Right. Don't we have those flasks that Band-Aid made back when Asher, you know, the blood? Which ways the wind going right now to? To north.
Starting point is 00:22:21 Towards us. Essentially, you are upwind at the moment to the dam. Great. So it would blow in that direction if we put that. Let's, what the hell? Let's use some of those flasks and see if we can get some kind of a distraction. You can head back to the rail driver, check in with a sleepy boy. And, uh, and see.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Can I use some competence points to make sure that this is a good idea? No, so what I was about to ask you is if you wanted to do a construction engineering check to kind of like assess the dam for any potential structural integrity. Absolutely, yeah. I'd love to do that. Absolutely. Because every now and then I just feel like we're talking at our eyes. I would love to know. Well, it reminds me two competence points at the beginning of all this. Oh, thank you.
Starting point is 00:23:13 And then no one used it in their last. Correct. Two, four, six, eight. Ten. Ten. Oh no go Good roll it I did it play yay
Starting point is 00:23:27 By how much? One degree of success Okay and did you want to spend any competence points to increase it? You don't have to but it's up to you I don't know if it would increase it to You might want to save those for other stuff I would say it as you can't say it as you can't say it as you can't say it as you can't say it I will say is that more degrees of success is better quality information oh that's true
Starting point is 00:23:45 I don't have enough competence points for unless one competence Yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Then yes, I'll take two degrees. So for two degrees of success, okay, you only spent one. I will tell you that, yes, that RV is definitely a weak point, but it has been jammed into the dirt nose first,
Starting point is 00:24:07 that if it's going to swing out from any side, it's gonna be from its tail. Like, you can tell that it's sunk down into the mud and dirt and cemented so much, like that basically made that into a little bit of an anchor point. That's a huge brace beat for it, essentially. So the only way that that's gonna push, you can tell, is if it cracks along its fulcrum,
Starting point is 00:24:27 which is in its front at the moment. So it would have to swing this way. No, no, no, the other. Yeah, it had to swing that way. So you need a blast on this side, or that destroys a lot of this back end of it. So it don't. And you are correct in that the water is 100% spilling out the most
Starting point is 00:24:47 right in the center. Fantastic. So the center is where, because it's not leaking out nearly as much along the sides, but that center is where all the water is coming out. Okay. And you have six sticks of dynamite. And that's enough to blast a hole in a salt mine, you know? Granted, this mucky stuff that you can tell,
Starting point is 00:25:11 and even just going to a pile of it that's just kind of along the sides, you're just looking at it. You can see that it definitely has the consistency of concrete a little bit, but again, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link We don't need to destroy the entire length of the dam. We just need to destroy enough of it that the water pressure takes care of the rest We're running out of daylight. I feel like it's not a bad idea. Let's set up those deals. Go back to the rail driver Grab some stinky stuff Check on Band-Aid see if he's up yet and get the hell back here All right, let's do it anyone? Yeah
Starting point is 00:25:47 All right, so are you gonna just wake Band-Aid up, or are you gonna wait until he wakes up? Oh, we're not waiting for shit. Yeah, how long has he been sleeping now at this point? Like four hours? He's been sleeping four of his long rest. So it's about four o'clock in the afternoon, so he started at noon.
Starting point is 00:26:02 So he'd wake up probably with one die left. You had, as I like to call, a deadliest nap. Yeah. Oh, no. Which is when you basically get waken up, and it's like, ah. Oh, it's worse. It's worse.
Starting point is 00:26:14 Oh, I hate it. Sorry, Band-Aid, but we gotta move. What are we doing? Where are we going? So, short version, we're gonna set up a decoy with those flasks that you created off of Asher. Okay. We are going to get that dynamite as close as we possibly can to the center of the dam, and we're gonna try to blow it. Okay, all at once? No, just the center. You can't get the whole thing. There's no way.
Starting point is 00:26:38 Let's do it. You're waking up to join us here? I'm just wake as I'm gonna be. All right. So, you guys. make the half mile trek back at your own pace. At this point, you're actually... You guys smell so bad. Oh, God, put your moonshine on.
Starting point is 00:26:53 Okay. Wait a minute, half and half, you have to buy again more from it. So that's another five. Okay. Oh, Ann, are you buying the stinky sticks, or you just using? He had those, and he had his flasks. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:27:10 More or not? Let's get some more. One or two. I'd rather use them now. Let's use them up. All right, let's use them up. So you get, take all the stinky sticks. There's no more inside of the rail driver.
Starting point is 00:27:25 You basically take another, and they're very volatile, which is why they were kind of put into a foam case. Okay, good. Into it, and you just get another three. So we have six total. Yeah. But they are completely sealed until we unsealed them. Yep.
Starting point is 00:27:39 All right. They come in a test tube vial. And you just hop the top and then the center, or you got to drop the top, or drain it, smash it, smash it. smash it however you want. It's meant to be broken. Okay. Because as per the design of the material,
Starting point is 00:27:56 it's meant to be chucked and or drop somewhere and then you run. Jenny, right on the board. Okay. Let's get a plan in place. Okay. Band-aid, why don't you put your mini up there with everybody else so that we all know
Starting point is 00:28:07 where you're at? You can kind of feel the adrenaline kind of coursing through all of you, as you know you're about to be hopping into. The salt mine was one thing, they got the drop on you, but you can see them moving and working and kind of coalescing. It is almost as if you're just going to go
Starting point is 00:28:27 into a beehive at this point. At least we can see it. And you can see it right there. You can, for now, it's late enough now, where it's getting to be around 4.30. Because otherwise you give me those two hours. Right. But you basically, you have a little less.
Starting point is 00:28:43 Sure. You have probably like three or four hours until it's night. All right, so let's be quick. Yeah. Let's. All right, we need to create that diversion over there. Who wants to do that? But if we threw the stinky stick
Starting point is 00:28:55 into the middle of the riverbed right there, that would draw most of them hopefully there with the scent. Yeah. Then that would give you guys time to set up the explosions in the middle. Get out of there. And everything would wash them that way.
Starting point is 00:29:10 And if things are going well, maybe grab that propane tank. Not going well, we leave it. All right, Jania, so what are you doing? I'm gonna set up the explosives. You're running the explosive to the center. Yeah. I would love some cover. I've got you.
Starting point is 00:29:23 Thank you. Okay. I'm borrowing your gun again, though. Yes, of course. Are you covering her from the trees, Ray? I wanna move closer to her than that. All right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:32 So you're repositioning to take a shot. She's gonna have to reposition to place the dynamite anyway. Of course. Yeah. Once the stinky sticks, once she makes a run for it, I'm close behind her. Great. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:42 I'm gonna take my pistol back. I think I gave it to you. And then I'm also gonna cover from back here. Okay. Covering. Covering from the far. Yep. Where are you at?
Starting point is 00:29:55 I will escort you. Okay. And help us move silently. So Jenny, running and setting this explosive, you're placing it, you obviously have to light the fuse. All right? So at this stage, you're just placing the explosive and putting it down.
Starting point is 00:30:08 So that much of a run from where you're at, I'm calling the three speed dice, all right? But no check to place it. So Janie's got three speed dice. Ray is gonna take two speed dice. Do you wanna make a composure check to hold for a trigger? Sure. I wanna make a hold check to find the perfect time
Starting point is 00:30:25 that I can throw it for the distraction. We're not doing anything until he throws the six. Yeah, right, right, right. So why don't you hold with a trigger, make a composure check so that you're ready to fire whenever. Basically, it's altering your speed for next round. Three degrees of success. Great, you can do so.
Starting point is 00:30:39 You are, you are. Ready. I'm not letting you get me. How many speed dice am I for... You're doing three with her. Okay, I need one more then. Yeah, you're moving forward. And I still have one difficulty die
Starting point is 00:30:52 from not resting, right? Mm-hmm. Okay, I'm good. Oh no, I have this. The Band-Aid, two speed dice for you, since you're also covering from afar. Can I also do a composer? Absolutely, yes. You wanna alter your...
Starting point is 00:31:06 No, degree of failure. All right, you're anxious as you're watching this go down. It's sleepy. Oh yeah. Oh no, that's fine. Okay. Still sleepy. So everyone's got there, oh, Kent, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:31:18 You wanted to hold, do your composure as well too. Go for it. Let's see, because you've got the drop on these things at the moment. No, you're focused on your throw. 61. If I'm guessing right, because your composure's right here. And then you've got 58, so just under. So zero degrees of failure, but it's your most mostly not worrying about the infected, you're,
Starting point is 00:31:40 you're focusing on your throw. Yes. So let's get your throw. You're gonna roll it at two speed because you have to move and reposition yourself to do so. Okay. It's 13 speed.
Starting point is 00:31:53 Band-aid and Ray? Mm-hmm. You can reposition your minis. Move out. Rolling out. Where are we going? I can reach mine. So I'm, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:04 And we are covered, as covered in moonshine as physically possible. Here? Yeah, that sounds good. As long as I can cover her. And I'll be trying to see behind the RV as well. Great. As Bandaid and Ray just start this, the best line ever move out as you book it along the riverbank,
Starting point is 00:32:23 getting closer to where the RV is hoping to check the other side, looking for any infect that you possibly can. Next is Jenny. A nine. Run. So I will get you with all that speed. You can get into the center of the riverbank, not at the, yes, right about there.
Starting point is 00:32:44 about there, you basically are just barreling right down into the wet river bank. Now, this is where I'm gonna have you make a reaction check because of the wet rocks and everything. I'd like to have you make a balance check. Ray, you're gonna do the same as you follow her down. And with this one, you will need the... The difficulty, yes, please.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Okay. So both of you would need a balance to make sure you don't tumble in the rocks. Yeah, I'm gonna be a balance. Where am I, 35? That's... Four degrees of failure. No, three. Three.
Starting point is 00:33:19 I have three degrees of success. Can I trade them off to catch her? Tell me how it happens. Okay, you're running forward, and you're so focused on getting into the right place that you put a foot wrong, and then you start to fall to the side, and then you kind of fall into me,
Starting point is 00:33:34 and I kick one leg out and kind of quietly, and we just sort of lock eyes for a moment, and then we keep going. Excellent. So you catch her off guard, and you manage to recover her in the middle of this bank. At that moment, Jenny, as you and Wraith barrel down, you basically kind of start to see,
Starting point is 00:33:58 as some heads are starting to kind of pick their eyes up, and Band-Aid, as you kind of peer around the corner, you see two infected on top of the RV picking themselves up. They seem to just be mashing on the other side. That's why you couldn't see them. Got it. So they were just kind of around, and they all kind of pick up and look around. You can see their cloudy white eyes, kind of like taking in the surrounding a little bit
Starting point is 00:34:27 as they just saw movement basically come down. So they've been alerted to your presence. They now know where you are. And then Kent, how'd you do? I rolled a 72, which is two degrees of failure. All right, so why don't you narrate it for me? I wanted to possibly use a competence point to fix it. You can get rid of one with a competence point.
Starting point is 00:34:49 So I'm going to throw the first stinky stick on the rock. Are you moving first? Oh, I'm moving. Oh, sorry, let's do that first. Okay, excuse me. Reposition your mini, if you don't mind. Let's move him right there. Yeah, perfect, right there.
Starting point is 00:35:04 So I'm gonna go over there, and it's, the first degree of failures, it's really sogier than I thought. And my boots are starting to sink into the banks of the sand, and I'm not gonna be able to get as good. of footing as I thought I was to make the throw. With that being said, it takes me a few seconds to get my feet out, and I'm covered in mud now, on the bottom, and I'm gonna use,
Starting point is 00:35:26 that's one degree, and then I'm gonna try and use my, confidence points to make sure I hit that throw even from the mud. Well, you're not gonna throw it. So at this point, I'm able to make the throw. You're gonna get stuck and you're gonna kind of grip that footing, and those are the seconds that you lose. Okay. Essentially wiring there. I'm gonna say you probably didn't.
Starting point is 00:35:44 and make the throw base off of that. And now you are stuck, so I'm gonna add three speed dice. If you wanna move, it's three speed dice, basically for your next round. Okay, guys, I'm stuck over here. Guys, I'm stuck over here. So you watch as all of them, especially with that, like I'm stuck over here, you watch as they all,
Starting point is 00:36:05 as they all kind of looked out and they see Kent like with his thighs in mud at the moment as they all just kind of look down. at you and they can see Raythe and Jenny just position there right there and it's just basically eyes all laid down we just got one in the wrong direction next route did we ever use up my degree of success for what the role was doing that or was that just to move you were moving it's just repositioning and you're holding but you did compose in the last round which means you get to pick your speed
Starting point is 00:36:40 this round okay do I have to pick it before I roll No. I'll allow you to go into there. I need to check on. Comprose. Because I don't know we're gonna look our way through multiple ones. In 10. Jenny.
Starting point is 00:36:57 How close am I in the center? Like. You could make there with two speed. Two speed? And if you wanna get there and place the bastard and light it, three speed. I think I'm just gonna get there. Okay, get there with two.
Starting point is 00:37:14 Do I need to change the board? No? Okay. You got your weapon out and stuff too. Yeah, I have my machete. Yeah. Ben Ray. Can I hold and shoot? Like, cause I get to decide when I want to go, but I'm going to keep eyes out.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Eyes out to shoot. I would like to know a target. Where I'm going to shoot? Could you cover me? Whatever infected is closest to me? That was my original plan, was covering anything that's close to her. Then great, then just do that. Again, you can go whenever you want and it'll be, but what it will be is it will be a shooting check.
Starting point is 00:37:40 That's what I'm interested in. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So feel free to take a, your stuff. stuff that you need in order to do a shoot. So I'm going to kind of ignore this for right now and give additional cover to them down there. Great. So you're just waiting for anything
Starting point is 00:37:53 and come across Jenny's path. Yeah, I'm gonna do a hold check with my finger on the trigger. Okay, so that's fine. So again, we're manipulating our speed for the next round, right? Yep. Okay, go for it. And this is composure?
Starting point is 00:38:03 Composure. I made it. Awesome. One degree of success. So which means, again, for the purpose, you can either, you can either, wait. Oh, difficult.
Starting point is 00:38:14 I didn't make it. So it's zero. It's zero degrees of failure? Zero degrees of failure. Okay. Then you're having a hard time trying to determine which priority target you want to hit. They've all looked and you're like,
Starting point is 00:38:24 I don't know which one to shoot, I don't know which one to shoot, which one do I shoot. And that's essentially where you're at. Okay. You're covered Kent. My intent is, I want to try and get out of the mud so I can throw this grenade. I need to do it now while I have time.
Starting point is 00:38:39 So. Three speed. Okay. So you're clearing yourself in a mud. Yes. I have climbing. If that will help. I'm going to follow Jenny, and if any of them tries to get close to us, I'm just, I'm going to try to slash out of them with my weapons.
Starting point is 00:38:51 So let's roll. Cut down. I guess I'll leave it there. 3-3. Are you one of those media strategy people clicking through slides, scrolling spreadsheets? Yes? Good. This is for you.
Starting point is 00:39:09 Because on Spotify, there's an audience that's different. Locked in. Loyal, invested. They're called fans. Fans don't just listen to music. They feel seen by it like it belongs to them. So when your brand shows up on Spotify, that's who you're talking to. And you're right next to artists like me, Lizzo.
Starting point is 00:39:27 So, are you ready to talk to fans? Spotify advertising. You're among fans. All right, Kent, your speed is nine? Yes. Great. Ray, with your speed? Eight.
Starting point is 00:39:38 Ooh, nice. Three dice. Ten. Ten. Nine. Wow. All right, everyone's grouped together. But I'm determining.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Right? I get to pick as things happen. Yes. As things have, it's a benefit of composure check. Excellent. All right. And you're nine. Great. So, Rayth, you're a little bit ahead of Jenny at this point, but I will tell you that you are the first one to kind of see the infected start to kind of move. And you watch as they've, after they've picked their all heads up, just like mongooses, just br-h-h-h-h-as-the-they've all kind of lifted their head up with their big, open and cloudy eyes, like giant riverfish that are essentially floating. running around, you watch as a few of them hop into the water, just as far as they possibly can, and they all converge. Another one, come out from this side.
Starting point is 00:40:29 All right. Retreat. This is not a good scenario. I'm taking my turn now. Yeah. I have five degrees of success. You did the check already. Now you get to tell me which target you want.
Starting point is 00:40:41 Gotcha. So I've got five things. I just want to slow as many of them down as physically possible. Are you shooting the AK? Yeah. Okay. All of these are gonna explode. No, they're not.
Starting point is 00:40:52 So we have seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 15, and 8, 23, 23, and 4, 27. 27? Mm-hmm. Okay. I'll roll your depletion. Let's see how that war pans out. Five, nine, 10, 14, 14, 14, and three.
Starting point is 00:41:15 I'm still good. Okay. You pull back the pious. the pin and just full burst, just as you spray along the front, knocking actually two down the closest ones to Jenny and Ray. As they are scrambling that one, as it's attempting to move its hands forward with its kind of gushing black blood oozing out from Ray's bullet holes. All right, so you intended your action right there.
Starting point is 00:41:44 Now it's going to go to Kenton Band-Aid. Okay, so I'm finally free. Yeah, you've pulled yourself free. Pull myself out. It took a lot of effort not to lose your boots in the process of all of this mud silting in. So as you just pull them up, you're watching as all this just happened so fast.
Starting point is 00:42:02 They're down on there, and then you watch this two drop dead and a third wide, crawls down onto the ground, Band-Aid. So I was holding my trigger. I'm gonna move down just a bit to get a better shot, But your intent was originally to shoot? I was keeping it, yeah, to shoot. Okay, then roll shooting at this point. You can't move because you've already,
Starting point is 00:42:26 because that wasn't part of your intent. Okay. Unless you wanna spend degrees of success in order to move, okay? Okay, I have five degrees of success. I was gonna say, I thought your pistol was done than that, dude. Yeah, you rolled really well. Whoops.
Starting point is 00:42:41 Yes, great, it's just, yeah. Thanks, good looking out. All right, so, I am going to spend one to get closer because I'm gonna do more damage if I'm down here. Yeah. Because I'm gonna be aiming at the one that's left. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:57 And I'm gonna use the four for my damage dice. Okay. And then I have one depletion. Nice, yes, yes, yes. Okay, five, ten, mm-hmm, 15, 20, 24, 27. You dropped it. Just like, so I come, like,
Starting point is 00:43:21 Like, there's this, I'm still sleepy too, but I come down here and I like slip down, but I like catch a moment to sit there, and I just go like, bang it. And it's, it's head just flaps off to the side as you watch brain matter just kind of scatter across the dry river bed. And I'm like just as surprised as anyone.
Starting point is 00:43:43 All right, yeah. Nice shot. Jenny, the way has been cleared for you, except for this one right in front of you. I know if I leap over it, gonna like get me. But I don't wanna waste any more time. I want to place that dynamite and get out.
Starting point is 00:44:02 And then place the dynamite. I'm gonna place the dynamite. Jenny places. As you leap over the creature, you see it. And it just swings as it grabs nothing but air as it falls down along the side of you. As you go right into the muck and you pick your hand up is just,
Starting point is 00:44:28 tar like goo is just pulling up from your hand as you can just smell the terrible excrement as this half-dried mortar just covering parts of your hand as you slam the dynamite. She makes it here? Yeah. Right into there. Well, she did fall in it.
Starting point is 00:44:47 You did, okay. All right, Rayth. You're actually supposed to go at the same time the infected did, but you were a little earlier than Jenny and since you were following her. By all means. All right, that's fine. So the one that she leaped over,
Starting point is 00:44:57 it's not mobile anymore. It's just prone. Okay. It could get back up. But it could get back up? Yes. Okay. So.
Starting point is 00:45:05 There's still one by the semi-truck rolls. I want to try to like basically follow Jenny, but I want to run up to the one that she leaped over and just bring, and yeah, and just bring the sword down. You didn't roll any slashing or anything like that yet for it, right? No, I haven't rolled any attacks yet. It was not part of your intent. Go ahead and roll it. Yeah. And depending on your degrees of success, degrees of failure, you can resolve it.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Yeah. Outside of intent. My goal is to basically just keep moving. Yeah. that. That's your intent at this point. Okay, so I got a 60, and then with my slashing, that is two degrees of success. Right, so how would you like to spend them? Probably one to keep going, I'm assuming, because that's your intent. Yeah, one to keep going, and then yeah, just whatever, whatever damage I can do to the
Starting point is 00:45:48 actual guy. You can use the base damage for the machete plus one other. Yep. Yeah, that's how I'll do it. So it'd be a total of three damage dice, right? All right. Go ahead. All right. So that is 10 points of damage. All right. As I swing my sword against it while I go past it.
Starting point is 00:46:09 So with Ray's previous damage from the AICU will end it, describe it to me. Okay. As I'm running past, I flip my sword over, and then I stab down through the center of its chest. And then I keep running and pull the sword out like that. As you're moving. All right. You can try to catch up with her. You can leap over and be about 10 feet behind you.
Starting point is 00:46:28 10 feet behind Jenny. Okay. So like there? Yeah, cool. All right. Next round, intense. I'm gonna get this dynamite set and start getting the fuse laid out
Starting point is 00:46:39 and just. Roll it. Yeah, yeah. I'm just going as quickly as I wanna wipe off my hands too. Just off my padded coat. Just terrible. Yeah. Laying it, setting it, and then,
Starting point is 00:46:51 what are you lighting it with? I got a lighter. Mm-hmm. I'm so glad you do. So glad you do. So glad you do. We were all pretty glad. Because if you didn't.
Starting point is 00:47:00 Yeah, I got a lighter. Then two speed. Okay. You only need to do speed. Okay. All right. Great. I'm gonna try to follow her, and I'm looking around to make sure that no new river runners
Starting point is 00:47:13 come and attack us while she's trying to do that. Okay. So with this relatively cleared, I'm actually gonna come over here and check out the back of the RV. Okay. So my intent is I'm gonna move and try to pop the lock or open it in some way.
Starting point is 00:47:26 Okay, great. covering Jenny. Okay. When a target becomes available. You can shoot it. Okay. Kent. I'm finally going to throw that stink bomb.
Starting point is 00:47:35 It's taking me three turns to throw it. It's true. I'm going to aim just for literally the top of the semi truck now just to try and cover that thing and stink so that that river runner over there will stay over there. One speed. One speed. And a throw check, obviously. All right, let's all roll them up. All right.
Starting point is 00:47:56 Three, two, one. Go. There's seven with an exploder. Rayth, what's your speed? One. One. Great. Three.
Starting point is 00:48:10 Oh. Okay. Eleven. Eleven. Waiting for a target, so no speed. Rating for a target. Six. Speed.
Starting point is 00:48:20 So what's going to happen is this one is going to run straight for Kent. I'm going to clear these bodies. This one is going to get right on you, Rayth. These are cleared because they're dead. These are gonna hop up here. Balancing gymnast, balancing up. They're graceful, they're tasteful, and they blow up things in your faceful.
Starting point is 00:48:51 They literally hop along the side of it and they're almost right on top of her. That one's drunk. You're drunk, go home. Jimmy. Jimmy, I didn't know you'd turn it to a river runner. You can also start a river runner. You can also start.
Starting point is 00:49:10 to hear the splashing on the other side of the river as more apparently are coming close. And Band-Aid, you can start to hear as other coming across the side as well. But you have definitely disturbed whatever work they were doing, as they just continued to pop up in various directions. I'm gonna do you.
Starting point is 00:49:32 Not working. Not the effective have gone. Raythe and Jenny, if you wanted to act at three since Jenny's going right now. Now, I haven't had any movement yet, right? Basically, after I do the movement, you could simultaneously move with them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:47 So you'd be able to react even before Jenny does. Yeah, okay. I think I'd like to move up to where the one that's closest to Jenny is, the one that's basically right up on top of her. Try to just move up and attack that one. All right, roll your check against it. Okay. Slip on the sword, lucky time, lucky time.
Starting point is 00:50:07 Okay, that's the 78, but I think that's actually still okay. is, it's zero. I'm 87 normally from my tank. So it's a minimum of one, always. So you have one degree of success. Yeah. Right? So how would you like to resolve it? I think, you know what I wanna do?
Starting point is 00:50:25 Try to decide if I wanna try to just defend it. Like, use my sword basically, for one, I can spend for like a parry. And I basically wanna just kind of almost like intercede between her and her. You'll give her a defense. And then basically that gives us collectively more defense. I'm just kind of like,
Starting point is 00:50:40 trying to push her off of it with my sword. Absolutely. So when we resolve it, because it's gonna happen at the same time as you're going, and I am gonna be rolling grapple against her, it will give her a defense. Okay. Okay. Can I go now?
Starting point is 00:50:54 Can I choose a thing? Cause I get to choose a time. You do. All right, awesome. I have four degrees of success. Okay. I am gonna spray the fuckers that are on Jenny, like basically get the guy, get as many of these targets
Starting point is 00:51:04 as I possibly can. And I told you I wasn't gonna let you get fucked up. And I said I trusted you. You did. Describe the scene for me. I put myself in between him, in between Jenny and him. So if I soared up.
Starting point is 00:51:18 Right, so with my holding, the whole time I've been saying, nope, nope, nope, nope, and as soon as I see them come on top of, get on top of Jenny and Raith behind her, I say no, and I start spraying, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, as they all fall down. Yeah, those two, right,
Starting point is 00:51:39 Right next to her just literally you drop them like bogies in the water as they just fall and splash as they crumble down the side of the rubble and splash down into the bottom. I can just see you sitting there trying to like set this and like, p, look. I think there's even a better situation where that may have happened when they poised
Starting point is 00:52:00 themselves on top of the dam right there and knew what a clear sight of them to where the light was actually illuminating the silhouettes where it was just like target shooting. just too-da-tut-tut-to-to-to-tick. They just couldn't balance, they couldn't balance their metal bodies on the fence. But they plopped into the water, that's for sure.
Starting point is 00:52:17 And Jenny just, like to see his bullets is whizzing right by her as they just fall down dead. Yes. And I yell, Jenny, go! Let's roll depletion. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm sure I'm out with eight dice.
Starting point is 00:52:31 Yeah. One, four, seven, seven and eight, 15, 16, and five, 21, 21, and five is twenty-one, 27 26 like I said 27 29 and you look at the bottom of the AK and you're like wow I got a few ran flipped I told you I needed one of these I'm glad you have it right now that's for sure okay I still have my actions I still got to throw don't
Starting point is 00:53:02 don't shaft me I'm sorry that was just so dramatic you have one job I have my right too. I have a 37, which is two degrees of success on the throw. Oh my God, you were up three. That's right. We've barely even got that done. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:15 By all means, how many degrees of success? Two degrees of success on the throw? Yeah, absolutely. Throw it wherever you want. So which way is the wind going right now? Same is there. Okay, so I'm going to aim for here. Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:27 To try and get him. Well, I'm going to aim closer right there. So I'm trying to definitely get one of the middle of attention. So you throw it and you watch, is it just kind of the rock, just makes us. Just make it. solid arc as you watch it just smash against the parts of the rock and you can see that you actually had a fairly dry area So it's not getting mixed in with the trickle of water. That's too much. Let's give me At least one for sure. I didn't get them so okay. Oh, there you go and then you've got theoretically one more one more yeah
Starting point is 00:53:58 I'm gonna use this one to move back towards Ray great go for it okay Okay so position yourself and then bandit so I'm gonna come around I'm gonna kind of like Scramble Sprint. Oh, that's right, you were looking inside. I was looking inside. I didn't make you make a search check, which is what you should have done by looking inside of there.
Starting point is 00:54:13 Okay. Yes. So, uh, spot listen or search? Search. Search. Yeah. If you're looking around inside of there. H. Ha, 9, 10, 11.
Starting point is 00:54:23 So three degrees of success. All right. You pop up in the back of that RV, and it is open. It's just, the back just kind of, it's just laid out open at this point. And you look in there, and you see, If you don't mind me being blunt, a full-blown meth lab.
Starting point is 00:54:45 Like a whole cooking station. Just everything inside of there. The propane is in there. Is it blue meth? You don't see any products. Okay, cool, no product. But you absolutely see quite an active cooking station, at least at one point.
Starting point is 00:55:02 I'm going to take my backpack, and I'm just gonna start loading up full of equipment, propane tank. tank anything I can get in there. What's gonna do is this is a level three amount of resource that you can take that for the catalog later. Cool. All right. So Jenny, obviously you have to light the fuse.
Starting point is 00:55:20 All right, let's do it. And the fuse has been lit. Run! Run, Jenny! Yes, yes, I turned a race and I say run! All right, so is that your intense, both of you? Yes. There is someone right behind you.
Starting point is 00:55:35 Oh, yeah. Which direction do we want to run? That's a great question. Also, do you want to run just a little bit of it, or do you want to do full three speed dice, get all the way away? I mean, I think we should probably go this way because we'll get the most coverage
Starting point is 00:55:52 from other people firing at us. Oh, you want us to run back that way? Is that what you're saying? Run this way. Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's do it. Come to us. Yeah. So, barreling down both of you at three speed dice,
Starting point is 00:56:03 take your speed, no checks necessary. You're running, Band-Aid. Could I get an extra blue? Yeah. I'm taking my equipment and I'm getting out of that RV. All right, two speed dice if you want to meet it with everybody else. I'm covering in this direction because I know Band-Aids are over here,
Starting point is 00:56:18 which is essentially the same way they're running. Kent. I'm going to fire on the river runner that is making his way across the river, the one that was closest to me. No, the closest to him. All right, that's long distance for sure. Okay. And with a pistol, you're not gonna get any.
Starting point is 00:56:33 I have the MP5. Oh, MP5, right. Okay, so the MP5 is fine. because still times one at bar distance. So two speed dice, plus whatever you're gonna roll for your blues for your speed, and then plus whatever you're gonna roll for your gun. All right?
Starting point is 00:56:47 Okay, roll them up. B'dh-dh-dh-dh. That's so great for me. Not so great. 10, 15. Nice. That's a good, yeah, so okay. Ray, you're up first.
Starting point is 00:57:03 Zero degrees of failure. All right, so. You've got good luck so far, just spra-in' pran, but now you gotta roll all of them depletion dice. Mm. Plus one. So she should be up to nine? Yeah, nine depletion dice at this stage.
Starting point is 00:57:22 Oh, kids. As long as you're still under 30, which you've got 29 last time. Yeah, okay, hang on. The war is over and both sides lost. Kingdoms were reduced to cinders. an armies scattered like bones in the dust. Now the survivors claw to what's left of a broken world,
Starting point is 00:57:44 praying the darkness chooses someone else tonight. But in the shadow dark, the darkness always wins. This is old-school adventuring at its most cruel. Your torch ticks down in real time. And when that flame dies, something else rises to finish the job. This is a brutal rules-light nightmare with a story that emerges organically, based on the decisions that the characters make. This is what it felt like to play RPGs in the 80s,

Starting point is 00:58:39 Ooh. 31. So you just basically clear out this clip as you attempt to shoot towards the ones that Raythe and Jenny still have to contend with and it just took it and then the slide pulls back and that whole long clip is now out. All right?
Starting point is 00:58:56 I mean I'm out? Forever out? Not forever, you can reload, but for this encounter, you're out. Until you change mags. Jenny, you're up next. Run all the way through. I use my machete to swipe at
Starting point is 00:59:09 the infected. Okay, that will be a little bit out of turn as far as your intent goes, because you originally told me you were just gonna run. Okay. Well, wait about rates. But, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, at this point,
Starting point is 00:59:20 if you're pulling it out and seeing him in front, then I'm just gonna make you spend more degrees of success in order to do stuff out of turn. So, you know, you can roll. Okay. But in theory, that would have been something you should have declared during your intent. Okay.
Starting point is 00:59:35 Okay. You got yelled at it. I'm so sorry. I got to help. I had a great roll, 14. Okay. That's five degrees of success. Oh, all right.
Starting point is 00:59:47 Look at Jenny. All right. Grab those four, grab those five, they're all over there. So we're gonna spend one just for going outside of intent. Okay. I see this infected. He's just way too close to us. And so I take my machete and I just swing it as hard as I can. Both hands right right.
Starting point is 01:00:09 across its check. As you're running by, kind of like a drive-by swipe. Yeah, just like my whole, almost like I'm swinging a bat. Like I just, gleeve right into it. Yeah. So you have the base damage, plus do you want to spend any degrees of success? You're gonna need three just to get back up there, I would say, because you're doing your- Okay, well then I want to save three to, you know, get up there.
Starting point is 01:00:32 Get up there. One damage, right? One damage, base. Could I use this as an extra damage? Okay. Eight. Eight? Eight?
Starting point is 01:00:42 Mm-hmm. All right, well, as you basically run by, you just put all of your meat into it as you basically swipe right across and you watch as the machete just kind of digs right into its chest. For a moment, it just tugs, because you feel like it's stuck in his flesh for a moment, but all it takes is kind of one quick grasp for it,
Starting point is 01:01:02 the blade to just get pulled out from behind it. And you watch as it's black blood is just pooling down the side of its... if it's, oh, as it kind of just runs right by. You almost lost your machete there, but with the rest of your degrees of success, you can make it back up to the lip, at the very least, of the river. Not all the way up.
Starting point is 01:01:23 Just like right here. Yeah, right about there, sounds about right to me. All right, great. Now, Kent. I rolled a 28, which is one degree of success. So I am firing at the... One then there. The infected?
Starting point is 01:01:39 Eight. Eight damage. With five on the depletion? Yeah. All right, you're not out, but you basically take burst fire against it, and you kind of watch as some of the bullet spray, you know, splashes some of the shallow water as you watch as a couple of it. It's kind of like, you can't tell if you hit it or not, but it definitely like covers its arms or attempts to protect itself. As the bullets kind of spray right by it, I mean, you're up there. all the way at the very top,
Starting point is 01:02:11 so you're about as good a position as it can get. As these creatures start to make as much movement on you as they can, this whole thing's happened in like a minute or two tops at this stage. The whole encounter, not just this round. Yeah, it's been a few seconds. The very worst and best. Let me check on him. I got him.
Starting point is 01:02:38 You got cut. Which one? I cut him. I cut him. One through 50, 50 through 100. All right. So as this one takes just it right into the chest, it kind of snarls at you, Jenny, as it comes by.
Starting point is 01:02:53 But then it turns back onto Ray and just pounces as much as it can right on top of it. Then a couple more start to appear out from the side. This one's coming up this way. These would have made it up to the top here. and then Band-Aid. I'm inside. You're inside.
Starting point is 01:03:24 You can hear the metal grating of the RV come across as you hear a creature. Just start slamming itself against the side and it's actually blocking your entrance out at the moment. Okay. As you can hear another one splash into the water behind. How far in are you at the moment?
Starting point is 01:03:46 Well, this turn, I was going to be leaving. Yeah. So you were on your way out when you saw it kind of come out across in front of you at the back of the RV. But the door is shut. The door is, well, you opened it, right? I opened it, but I went inside. Ah, so yeah, it's shut. It's basically the back window of it. It's just, sticking its head out, seeing you inside of there at the moment.
Starting point is 01:04:09 Right. So it can't get to you right now. Okay. But it's guarding the back entrance. Okay. Right. You're up. Okay, so my intent was to leave, but seeing this happen, I'm going to back up a bit and take a running start
Starting point is 01:04:25 and use the door to kick it open and get it out of the way. All right. So I'm gonna charge the door. That could be just a pure strength check, or you could do lift and pull, whatever's stronger. Lift and pull. Yes, please. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 01:04:42 Okay, so I have one degree of success. One degree of success. So I back up a little bit, and I have, the fucking propane tank in my head that's giving me a little bit more momentum. Yeah. And I'm just gonna scream, and run forward towards the door. Yeah. And like football charge out and just try to knock it over. So you basically spend your degree of success in order to bash that door open,
Starting point is 01:05:07 and you kind of watches the infect that it's knocked prone. Broader. That's it kind of falls down as the door swings open and you stung it out a little bit, trying to catch your foot. Yeah. as you basically clear that side of the river. Hit her with your bag. I did.
Starting point is 01:05:21 Bam! Yeah! Bam! Rae, you're up. All right, I wanna just try to get out of here and just get onto the bank. Yeah, all of your speed dice, you originally has your intent into it, so you push that thing away.
Starting point is 01:05:32 You can meet up basically where Jenny is at this moment. Yes. Yes. Yep, no problem. Right, so now we're basically into the next round because that's everybody's speed. So, ooh, oh. Am I making a valid assumption that all of you
Starting point is 01:05:51 were just running like the Dickens? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Is it possible to reload and run at the same time, that's not a thing? You'd have to get the mag out from your bag somewhere, so unless it's on hand. I have my small ammo box. What if I hand it out of my pistol?
Starting point is 01:06:05 I'm gonna hand you my pistol so you got something, I'll like pull it out of my pocket and hand it to you. As we run. Okay, that's perfectly fine. Give you the card, so. Great, you hear as they all are starting to scream behind you as you're running, like the Dickens, out of this area,
Starting point is 01:06:21 and you hear the more splashing of water as they're attempting to get down to where the bank is, but now that they've seen you all kind of high-tail it out of there, you watch, as a lot of them are starting to kind of sit on the lip of where the river is, with all of you, kind of already hundreds of feet in front at this point, just gone. Yeah, thank you, all out that way. And it takes about another 10 seconds before you hear the...
Starting point is 01:06:46 You cleared the dam. Oh, please, not that music. That music gives me nightmares from my childhood. Could we get something a little bit lighter? Some lighter music here.
