is the axe of Thanyan Mahyit. You were even right it was an axe. I knew it all along. What instincts, I must say. So what was the axe of Funyan? Thanyan Maayit. Now there's some bad news. No one has seen this axe in centuries.

In fact, it is rumored that it was buried with King Sena in his tomb. Now, that tomb had been lost to record, however, a few years ago, I personally sent out an expedition to find it. Unfortunately, disaster struck and only one survivor returned. He lived long enough to walk down the location, but other than that, we have very little information about it.

Your mission is to go to this tomb and see if you can find the axe and bring it back. Oh. To help you in this mission, I have my dear friend, Moumet. Hello. Greetings. Hello. Welcome, Mumay. Before we leave, you mentioned, I hadn't heard of this religion that this tomb is based off of. The Kekthesh. The Kekthesh. Yes, the ancient Keketesh. I know all about this already, but I'm gonna let. Sure.

Yes, Mume does have some knowledge of the Kethe. Yes, I know so much about it, but go ahead. So centuries ago, this is a civilization that has, it does not exist any longer. But yes, they built tombs and they buried their dead in bombing them to preserve the bodies. They have a language that has long since died out and is out of usage, but we don't know very much about them,

a very mysterious ancient people. All right, I'm satisfied. Yes, here we go. Hold on to your butts. If you would. This is so cool. You were at the end. Whoa.

Touching the relics. Your hands melted off. All right, so let's get going. So instead of going north like you did to Briarcliffe Forest into the cold, now you're heading south and it's getting hotter and hotter and you come upon a very arid desert. It's a long walk through this.

You don't see any kind of living plant life, anything at all. But Moumet has been instructed where the entrance to this tomb is. Finally, you come over, she's constantly consulting her navigation materials. You come over a rise, and at the very bottom of this dune, all you see are a set of doors seemingly set into the sand. This is what you see on the doors. So it is two doors. They are heavy stone slabs. as you push on them and try to get into a move,

they won't even budge a centimeter. There are images of two women standing facing each other and then these other images. So these squares look as though they can be depressed and someone has carved at a later date these images upon those buttons. I think you need a key. I do, this locks things though.

It locks things. It locks things. I can read some Kek-Tesh, but I don't see any thing here that I can read. You do not recognize these as cactesh symbols, no. Can you search for traps? I want to investigate.

would draw on the four elements, and these look like they could be related in some way. For instance, this one up here looks like it could be analogous to that one over there. The line is just moving up and down that M. And these two as well look like they could be related in some way. Yes.

I'm gonna try pushing this one that looks like a flower. All right, so he steps, he pushes it in, and as he takes his hand away, it pops back out right back to the space where it started. So do we think that there's an order to these, like a one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight? That would make the most sense. So.

What if, and I wanna try to push these two at the same time. Okay. This little gnome comes up, and his whole bodyway just pushes it in, and as he pulls back, they both come back out. Can you come with us all the time? So I'm gonna peer in since I have a spectacular dark vision. pretty good dark vision. And I'd like to see inside. Yeah, you look through, this seems to be a pretty like rough hewn passage. There's nothing very decorative about it. The walls are just kind of stone that's been just just made into shape, not really finished in any way. However, you do notice that there are basins not unlike this that sort of rest in the wall.

And there are sort of little channels along the wall that go all the way down. Your dark vision... 60 feet. 60 feet. You can see just at 60 feet. You see the beginning. of a little set of stairs that goes up. Well, we gotta check for traps.

Sure, is it okay for us to enter? I don't know yet. Let's check if there's any traps in this little ante room hallway. Do you wanna check? I would like to. Yes, okay, make an investigation check. Investigation, push us luck.

Very nice. Plus my investigation is nothing. Nothing. Okay. Yes, so looking in this first sort of section of hallway, probably like the first like 30 feet, you kind of like, you know, like, brush the dust back to try to see if there's anything. And this all looks safe to you,

this like first 30 feet of floor. Great. Let's move in 30 feet. And you guys are looking at me like too hard right now. You can make decisions. You've just done amazing things. I'll go right behind you just to help in the front because you can see better. I think you should flank the back

because of your night vision. And then we'll get these two lovelies in the middle. How's that some? I think that's a great idea. Is it a good time now to bury this? Yes, let's bury that. Okay. So she even has, you have little tools and things like that.

and you pull your hands back and the doors begin to close on there alone. At this point, it goes pitch black. So you cannot see anything. I can't see you can see 60 feet. Great, I'm gonna need my hands free because I'm gonna climbing. Do you wanna hold that?

Sure. Great. Don't touch anything until you really look carefully at these business. Got it. One more thing before we go, and I'm gonna tap this key on the stone doors. On the stone doors?

Oh, cool. I don't know if it did anything. Yeah, I mean, you don't hear anything change or anything like that, but you tapped it. You're sure. Okay, great. Cool. So you are in kind of this first, like, 30 feet of this passageway.

There's another 30 feet, and now as you get closer to there, you can see that this set of stairs goes kind of up into what would have been the dune above the door. Great, and shall we look at these? On the walls? On the walls? Do they contain anything inside of them? Yeah, you come over and you look inside them and you've got a torch going, right? You see oil, and you think it kind of flows out into these stores.

channels in the walls that go all the way down. Oh, let's light it. Yeah, it's a chain reaction. Light it up. It's safe enough. Well, it's not a chain reaction. It's a well reaction. How do we do a safety check?

It's an all-y-all reaction. Very good. I mean, perception. How do I perceive if it's safe? You can do a perception check to see if you can guess kind of how this is more. No, no, no, no. Oh, Beryl did it.

Here goes. Beryl takes her torch and she sticks it in the basin closest to her, it lights up, and then yes, it seems to shoot down. the sides of the channel and all the way down, lighting up the rest of the corridor on and beyond. You even see some of the light come up in the stairwell. Just trying to keep you safe.

All along that left side. Ooh. Okay. I want to save the torch. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I'll dip it in oil after the fact. Yeah, great idea. So thank you. Great. Let's go up to these stairs and see how far we can see up,

shall we? Yes. All right. So as you walk up to the stairs and you take a step just in the 10 feet before the stairs, it opens up, and you make a dexterity saving throw. Oh, okay. Yeah. You were so careful in that first 30 feet.

I just thought I could see shit. Okay, roll your Dixarity Saving Throw to see if you can land well. 18! Oh, nice! So you will take half of this damage instead of all of it. All right, as you fall. So stressed out. I'm playing for 10.

You were going to take seven bludgeoning damage. Well, half of that you'll take four bludgeoning damage from falling down and hitting the sides. You are also going to take some piercing damage. piercing damage though. Oh yeah, is these. You will take another four piercing damage from these spikes as they just graze you, but you're able to keep from fully falling on them and having them impale you. You get off to the side a little bit, so you take a little bit of a knocking,

but you are not impaled. Started so strong. You're now at the bottom of a 20-foot pit. You got some rope, right, help me. Never fear. Yes. I would like to ready my rope. I've got 50 feet of rope. Great. And I'd like to pull down. Can you hear me? Yes!

Can you see me? No! All right. I'm going to follow your voice. I'm going to try and maneuver myself. I'm in the pit. Right. My guess is closest to where I'm at.

So I go to the edge, I can see her. You can see her. You can see her. There's enough kind of little bit of light that'll get down to her. Hello, it's me. How are you? Okay. I'm going to throw my rope down. Right.

Get ready. So I throw it down. Okay, hold the other end. Yeah. I've got her. So I'm pulling, get ready. Are you going to help him by, you know, somewhere? Well, I don't need you to just hold it.

Hold it. Hold it. Hold it steady. So you're gonna climb up. Fantastic. So, so. You can make an athletics check, but do it with advantage because you have a tool.

And you've got me holding it. You do. That's not an advantage. Six. Is the higher? Six plus, what's your athletics? Plus two. Eight.

So eight and what's your strength modifier as you help try to pull her up? Plus three. Plus three, so that's an 11. So we slowly... But I haven't rolled. Can I roll? No.

If I mean it's... You want to actually, so we're gonna say on this one, so you're pulling, she's trying to climb a point. It's just, you can barely make a couple of feet. You're gonna try and do one big jolt. One big pull, just. Go for it, give her a strength, a strength, a.

That's an 11 plus three, so. So a 14. And I'm got some gymnastics. Okay, you wanna add your acrobatics? Yeah. What's your acrobatics? It's plus seven. Plus seven, fantastic. So with all of that, she gives a kick,

which makes her a little bit lighter, and you give a good pull, and you almost, she like, comes flying out the top, it goes so well. Whoa! And I say, sorry guys. Well, you looked cool at the end. Thanks.

Yeah. You even land in that perfect like one leg up, one knee down and thing. Yeah, that all superheroes do. All of the only way that you can land. Because that's the safest way to land. With your kneecap. It's great for your Pitella.

It's going great. Sorry about that. That's okay. So now is there a hole and then there are steps? There is a hole. So the hole is the full width of this hallway, which is five feet wide, and it is 10 feet long. It goes right to the bottom of those stairs.

So we gotta figure out how to cross this thing and get up those steps. Well, this is easy. This isn't a problem for me. I'm gonna take my javelins and just lodge them into the wall on the side and then just walk across. Okay. So you lodge the first one deep

and then step on it and lodge the second one, like that kind of thing? Yeah, all right. And then pull the one behind you and put it in the front. The stones in the water. old, so it's actually not very hard to do. You're able to just using your strength and pushing a little bit, you get that one in, and you stand it out, it's a round thing,

so you may need to do some balance, balance checks on this. Just keep grip strength version and just like, you know? Oh, that way. Just keep pegging it, pegging it, pegging it over. So describe me what you're doing then. So yeah, I'm gonna pull from my pack, my four javelins. See that the wall is a little crumbly, take it and be like, I got this. and just slam it in and then kind of like swing down to it

and then grabbing the other one from my pack, slam it in after that one, and then try to get myself across. Okay. Yeah. I think you can do athletics on that. You could train in that. Okay. It's like the monkey bars.

Yeah. So. All those years you spent training on the monkey bars. Oh no. Or. Or? What's great is I'm great at athletics. I have like a plus seven, but I rolled a one.

Wow. So unfortunately, as you go to reach the next one, something about it. This one doesn't, it didn't lodge in quite enough as you got it and as you let go, it starts to fall out of the space. You can make a dexterity saving throw to try to grab something.

Okay. How far along has she gotten, like in relation to the foot? I said she's five feet, she's about halfway through the pit. You know what? I'm not gonna make a dexterity save a thorough. Instead, I'm gonna wiggle my nose. I'm gonna float down with my feather fall.

Oh, that's a really, the nose ring. So she starts to fall. She takes kind of a, oh, and then suddenly all slows down and she floats beautifully. As she's floating, I see all of this happening and I'm like, oh no, and so I reach in and I grab the vial of silvery liquid

and I just down it real quick and blow a gust of wind at her. And I float to the other side? She flies, floating, as she sort of slowly floating down, you blow her. Wombo, combo, come on. She lands gently on the steps on the other side, like a fairy. So for fairness, this was a potion that I found

not one of my stores. Gotcha. This is his fancy bottled breath. The bottled breath. All right, now it's time for everyone else. It's still going, do you have it for a minute? So he's, should we all? Yeah, yeah.

Yeah, yeah. Somebody's on that side. We've got a row. We've got the big down. Yep, all right. Well, why don't we throw some ropes over to the other side? Yeah. So I toss rope, I throw my rope over.

Okay. Upload it in the wave of wind. It does, it flies over to you and you catch it. Yeah. All right, so I will touch it. I will tie one. Oh gosh, we should have two, so that way people can stabilize. I have another rope.

Yeah, perfect. There we go, blow this over, ready? So you and I will hold one, and then we'll string the other one across our ankles maybe. I don't love that. Are we doing this? Just hold it really tightly, you know? Yeah, that way you can step across. Well, listen, I mean, honestly, we were the two weightiest, so it makes sense.

We could hold it with our hands. And then all of us can have to bring you over. Right, but with all of you and her, I mean, confidence is through the perceived ceiling. Okay, let's do it. Will you feel it? Yeah. I'm strong enough.

So I have this right, the way this is set up is that you both are holding one on the top and then you've tied the other one around your ankle. Not I, I'm just holding the one side. You're not doing a double rope. You're doing a single rope? I was going to do it. We've sent over another rope.

We sent over a second rope. Yes, we could do this. That was the idea is she wanted to do a high one and a low. Yeah, so we're holding up here and our legs are going, right? But for the anchors, I'm imagining the anchors are holding the top one and have tied the bottom one around their ankles. I don't think that's a good. That's what was suggested.
