The party, as they venture deep into the underdark beneath the cliffkeep mountains in the Dwarven City of
Kraghammer, they sought and discovered Lady Kima
of Vord, a folk hero, a paladin of Bahamit, who had been captured
and tortured by the Durgaar that lived beneath it.
After saving her, they discovered that there was an even deeper,
darker, more dangerous evil brewing beneath the surface.
There was an illithid or mind-flayer city of Yug-Boril deeper within
these cavern structure, and currently the elder brain of the
colony was under the control of an entity known as Kavarn.
they came to find out was a self-mutilated and advanced beholder who had come into contact
with a dark artifact known as the Horn of Orchus that was actually gifted many, many, many,
many, like hundreds upon hundreds of years ago by the god of undepathed and self-orcus to
one of his avatars. Somehow it found its way to this beholder and gave it enough power to where
it gained complete dominion over this colony and these caverns as a whole. The party fought their
way through, made a few allies, including the ousted mineflayer, Clorota, seeking to
return to his colony and has been fighting alongside them, as well as Lady Kimo, the Paladin
they came to save. Upon finding their way into the final cavern, they used their magic
carpet to bite, to completely go around the giant of Yodgavril, perch on top of the
temple in the center of the city, and using a polymorphed Phrymorian giant, and the
cascading down hundreds of hundreds of feet through the glass structure on top, managed to
break their way into the temple.
Pretty proud of that.
After which a very dangerous battle with Kavar and the Beholder
took place.
A number of very close calls.
I posted the stats for him after the fight,
and you guys had a chance to see it.
They made saving throws where it counted,
or we have a lot more party members that would be permanently dead.
But they managed to take him out using Tiberius' telkinesis
tore the horn from its forehead, and the beholder fell to the ground,
unmoving, and finally killed, as opposed to its undead form.
That's about the bitch.
And that's where we begin.
As you guys all sit there looking around yourselves,
adrenaline still pumping in your ears, the flow of blood.
Pike.
That's me.
What do you need?
Do you have a spell of restoration?
The thing they can reverse stone.
Yes, I do.
Clarota.
What do you suggest we do?
Do we stay?
Do we leave?
What do you?
There are hundreds upon thousands of illiter brushing at us right now.
They don't like me very much, by the way.
We should get out of here.
I would you point, Clorota turns to you and says,
points to Kima, who is still frozen in stone
mid wielding her mall.
To carry her.
Us, stay.
But a moment, I will talk to them.
To the hive.
Very good.
Wait, do you want her to un-stoned?
I still stoned.
Well, hang on, hang on.
Maybe before we un-stone, Kima,
we talk about what we should do with the horn.
This is exactly what it has to do
the horn. Is there any way, Pike, could you perhaps half cast it and hold this spell? Don't
quite undo her legs for stone. I don't want her to be mobile. I want to ask a very serious question.
If I may, do you think so? If I may very quickly, are you with us, Tiberius?
We will discuss that when we get out of here.
Because you've disappeared for like the whole fight. Are you with us?
I am with you and I'm trying to get out of here.
Are you going to disappear again?
To be fair, Scanlan, I never disappeared to begin with.
Well, you weren't there when we needed you the most.
You were out doing God knows what.
Quite the contrary.
If it wasn't for me, you'd be fighting that damn thing.
What on earth are you talking about?
Silence.
Dispell magic.
Yes, I don't.
Counter smell.
Do I have a will say?
No, you're done.
That low enough level?
No, I'm pretty.
The idea is, and which I will share,
and we don't really have the time to do that,
I turn him into a goat.
If we have, he has to say that, that doesn't work.
I don't.
I have, yeah.
The idea is, is Pike.
If we ask her why she wants the horn,
if there is any other reason but to destroy it,
okay, then I'll banish him.
We have to, oh, Jesus.
How about, how about, well, hold on.
I can't stop it, he can't talk.
Also requires verbal.
I have to touch him.
I have to touch him.
Right?
But you also have to be able to speak.
Fuck!
So while you're talking to me, is scamlin is like tapping your
and mouthing words.
Anyway, so, hey, the idea is if she doesn't want to destroy it,
I say there's something awful, and Kielis, I believe you want to destroy it.
Yes?
Well, yes, I mean, why does she want to take it back up to the surface
if it's that terrible?
I know this is, I know, would you say orchis?
Orchus, yes.
This thing is no good at all.
Why don't we just throw in some lava?
Where is some?
I would much like to do that.
Well, we're around lava, right?
We're not around lava now.
Really, it's a thing of Earth.
Perhaps taking it to the surface is necessary to destroy it.
Why don't we, where don't we have a conversation with her?
It might be able to take it.
It might be able to take it back to him on.
That is not,
we need to destroy this.
Let's get some information.
I dispel silence.
Okay.
Let's get some information, let's figure out.
Oh, hi there.
Sorry, I just wanted to get the part of her.
So I can un-stone her.
Well, unstone her.
It's not like she can take it for us.
That's my last fifth level,
so we might need to rest.
Who get out of you as soon as we get out?
We're going to run anyway at this point.
The idea is this.
Assume you guys are coming down and hear that.
No, no.
I'm staying up.
I'm up there.
Can I, can I, now did we have this whole conversation?
Oh, then I did.
Yeah, you'd be out there.
I was planning.
I'm saying it's up.
You're just out there.
You should let's go out.
So, good.
Why don't we just, why don't we find out
what happens next?
And if we have to, you can teleport
sound of you, correct?
Oh, I have a wonderful state plan.
We need to be ready to run.
So how much time do we have before?
Mount Trinket.
Something happens next.
As you say that chloron currents and the tree stone
Norway on each side of the temple, shift open.
And you notice three mind fliers glide in.
From the side of the room.
I natch my area.
No, no, stop.
No, don't.
No, don't.
It's fine, it's fine.
It's fine.
It's fine.
petal brain-like creatures.
No, no!
At which point, Clorota puts hands up like this.
I do as well.
A grapple.
You hear, yeah, you're still being held back,
but you can try to break from the grapple
if you want to roll an athletic check.
I would like to.
Okay.
Just because these things are fucking five.
Oh, they're just in the cage.
Oh.
Seven.
Nope, you're still held against the bars.
You're like an extra and big, talking little time.
So.
Oh, it was a 12. I looked at acrobatics.
Still not enough, unfortunately.
Shit.
Wait, but I cast a, nope, never mind.
Keep going.
Okay. As they begin to move in,
and they're kind of hovering forward with looking around the room,
taking in kind of the scenery, but they're all focused towards the center.
They're all just moving towards the elder brain.
And they make their way up towards it,
kind of looking very intense and very frightened at the prospect of what maybe happened in this room.
As they all approach, you can see that low, dull, purpleish glow of the elder brain is still pumping,
but slowly brighter and brighter, almost like it's coming to more life.
You can hear the cage rattling of the various entities that are still inside,
the one that's still grappling grog off to the side.
The horn of or borchus of which is still being held aloft by your telekinesis spell,
it's just kind of hovering through the air, slowly rotating on its own.
Little bit strips of Kavarn's flesh still freshly tumbling from the side.
The halfway point between where she is and where I'm standing.
It's right over here.
Not this big of horse, but.
It's huge.
It's a very heavy, guys.
Oh my gosh.
As they all move towards the center,
Clarita with a hands up, turns around, pulls back the hood,
and steps towards the other mind flares, hand stretched out.
Moving up to the point here.
Can you instill you inspire him?
Inspire him?
It's pretty good on his.
It's pretty good on his.
Don't do anything.
I'm saying this on the ears.
All right, don't do anything.
The three ill-phid look over and notice Chlorota,
and there's a good 20 or 30 seconds of silence
as they just kind of look at each other.
At which point, Chlorota kind of turns around at the rest of the group
and looks at all of you.
And lowers his head a little bit as the mind fliers move in towards
Chlorota 1 reaches over and pulls.
the cap from the back of his head.
Oh, fuck.
Removes it,
at which point,
Claude races up.
And if you think you've ever seen an entity
with tentacles for a mouth,
smile,
the creases in his kind of
awful, rubbery, fleshy face
almost give a look of joy,
of rediscovered connection.
And he kind of looks out to the rest of you
and kind of bows ahead for a second.
I need
Frog, Scanlan,
Tiberius, Vax,
and Pike to all make.
This will be...
He fucks us.
I think he's about...
Intelligence saving throws.
Aren't you still to charge?
Oh, I don't grappled.
I'm raging, but...
Fuck yes.
Intelligent saving throws?
Intelligent saving throws.
Thank God I roll high.
All right, so...
Natural tiny.
Nice.
I get a negative two modifier.
That's such bullshit.
Not very wise.
Is this a charm?
This would be...
No, it would not be.
So wait, am I still an elemental?
Is that the deal?
So it's 23.
Cool.
23, 20?
12.
12.
12.
Like?
She needs a better dice.
I rolled six.
Okay.
Plus what?
Grog?
Plus six total.
Oh.
17?
Okay.
So.
So, currently all the mind flares at once, including Clorota, angrily lash out with a mind blast.
You feel your brains all of a sudden feel with searing, horrible pain.
Some of you managed to shrug it off, but the rest of you find yourself, your body's locking in place.
All right, everyone who failed their save, which would be, Kieleth would you roll?
You didn't have me roll.
Oh, you need to roll as well. Sorry, you're on the blast there.
Oh.
You're still in Rhelemental.
Roll high.
Am I?
I thought it was real high stuff.
Roll high.
What are I in? Not good.
Not good?
All right, that will be 22 points of psychic damage to Grog, to Pike.
I have.
No, you just pass it, so you're fine.
Teleport us out of here.
Doesn't work like that.
It doesn't.
What's going on?
What's going on?
What's going on?
Scanlon, you are currently stunned.
You're actually unable to physically move.
Pike as well.
The rest of you managed to just resist the mind blast, but at this point in time, you can now
see that this crew, including Clorota, now reconnected with its people, your purpose serving
its end. You're about to be swarmed by the rest of the fire city.
Son the bitch, take it.
Let's roll. Roll initiative, guys.
Should I've gotten out of here. Should I've gotten out of here?
I didn't. I never trusted that Magneto motherfucker.
It's like you damage separate.
I got to fuck. All right, so. 25 to 20.
21.
21 as well.
Nice.
20 to 15?
19.
17.
16.
All right.
15 to 10.
14.
14.
All right.
Crock.
Eight.
Against mind flares.
We're fucking fighting brains and mind flares again.
We're all going to die.
This is worse in the world on there.
This is worse.
Okay, wait, you guys run.
Decks you're up first.
I can start bringing down palace.
I can't want.
I'm stuck at the top until we can run.
We're stuck because there's only one flying carpet.
Tiberius has got some, right?
I'm gonna cast hunter's mark on the elder brain.
Okay.
And shoot hail of thorns into the elder brain.
Okay.
Yes.
Yes.
Oh, I like that idea.
I'm gonna start bringing down the temple.
Are we okay with that?
I think you should do.
We're still in it.
Not when we're still in it.
Well, I mean, it'll take some time, I'm sure.
Or a good help.
As you guys do notice, you guys are beginning to see what looks like shadows, seemingly coming out from the outside and you hear what seems like the slight cackling of things sort of hanging in the doorways.
I'm curious.
You're shooting the hallways down to the elder brain.
Okay, go ahead and roll for attack.
The 19s.
The 19.
19.
10 balls?
It was part of the...
We're gonna be dead in 10.
We'll talk about it.
There's a plan B.
Okay.
10 minutes.
Sure.
Yeah.
Pretty sure is it?
Wait.
No.
Yeah.
No.
Look at it.
You said one minute.
That's the...
I'm pretty sure it's a minute.
I've heard a regular damage plus the...
The DM says...
The DM says...
The yes.
That's what I said.
I thought it was.
ask you if you're a god, you say yes.
Yes.
No, you shouldn't look.
You should waste your time.
Oh yes, I'm so glad I'm wrong.
I thought we're going to be wrong.
I was like, oh my god, I know.
39 on the first hit.
Okay.
How many of us are down there?
39?
Yes, all of us except for Laura and Trinkhead.
And I'm on the carpet so I can head that direction.
And then 18 for the second.
Close the doors.
Nice. Okay, so.
The first hill of thorns, the arrow shatters into a hole.
And that takes anything within five feet,
takes damage as well.
That'll be all four of them.
How much damage they do?
Your hands are first.
What's that?
They take the same amount unless they
Oh, wow.
Unless they make a what?
Do you have a saving throw?
Oh, wait, wait, wait.
Yeah, yeah.
They take half damage on a saving throw.
So it's quadruple damage on one.
We just think one.
Okay, okay.
Here's the thing.
Okay, cool.
So two of them make it.
to them double damage to objects.
Structures.
That's what the thing.
I'm really good at terrorism.
Sometimes fighting isn't the right down too.
That's why I'm not talking about fighting.
I know.
All right, cool.
So, Clorota and the one nearest two,
both kind of get behind the pillar for a second
and manage to reduce the damage a bit.
But the other two are completely pierced all over the body
with shattered pieces of this kind of jagged thorn arrow that exploded
all over them in the elder brain.
The pulse seam begins to, you hear this almost like the shrieking
their mind, like the actual presence of the elder brain,
is starting to yell out in pain.
You feel it's hearty but hurting.
It's hardy but hurting.
It's a very hefty and it's a large chunk of matters,
so God knows how long it would take to think that one down.
But you know, it's definitely, it hurt.
It's not happy with that.
Do you want to move it all?
I guess there you are.
I want to do my second attack.
Yeah, that's right?
Yeah.
15?
15 does not hit, unfortunately.
You actually fired out, it hits the stone work next to it,
and the arrow just splinting it.
against it.
So there you are.
I don't know what else to do.
I'm stuck up at the top.
What can possibly go wrong?
Yeah.
Okay, that's the end of your turn.
Keelith, you're up.
I think I'm better used to not hold me.
I agree we need to get out of here now.
You have shadows moving in from the two open doorways on each side right now.
So the elder brain, this, is this like a wooden well or a stone well?
Essentially, it's a giant stone platform that houses the elder brain in the center.
Do it, Keeling.
Here's what I can do. I can start breaking the well or I can
blocking and start blocking entrances. I can start pulling down
tunnels to entrances. The second one. Second one. Second one.
The second one. Where's the where's the who's coming in from where? This is one doorway. That's the other.
I thought he said it was big. Wait. I am going to, I can make it there, right? That's like 35 feet. That's
maybe not enough. Yeah, no, it's longer 35.
feet. Just bull rush and tear down the well. Yeah, do it. Fuck it. Do what you want to do.
It's your party. What you want to do?
All right, all right. Just letting you know, just putting this into perspective here. You're fighting four illifid in the room. You have a city
swarming on you right now. We need to get out or take down the elder ring. All right.
I am taken down the door. So I'm gonna start. What are you doing? Are you using us, are you casting a spell or you?
No, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna start. Can I bull rush not necessarily.
right in next to the door, but like right here,
and I'm going to elemental slam into the wall
and siege monster this.
What's the movement speed of the Earth element?
35 feet.
35 feet, as it's still able to move through stone as well?
Yeah.
Well, actually, no, when I move through stone,
I think I can move.
Kayland, you can go out your brownie,
boom.
Okay, it is a thick floor.
You actually shift into the stonework with the flooring itself
and coast through, popping up right out there.
It'll get you right at the doorway.
You can see there is like a slow,
spiraling incline like a small like an incline pathway that you see four
illifid making their way up right now with some large looming stomping sounds
coming up behind them perfect so I just kind of materialize using my like girth
to take up the door and then I just go boom and start bringing it down okay
go ahead and make your slam attack or attacks depending on how many of you
slam I guess yeah get a key-y-last is that
Ooh, phew!
Uh, 26.
Okay, go ahead and roll damage on that.
You, since you are in Earth, I'm not you do extra siege damage
against structure, so.
Correct. Double damage.
Okay.
So, so.
Whoa.
Okay.
So, that's full damage.
Plus five, so that's 21, 42 points of damage.
Yes.
42 points of damage.
So the stone structure, which is pretty rigid,
and this is an old, old structure.
The strange kind of weird non-Euclidean design of it has the slight
warbling feel to it. You take both of your earth elemental fists and slam them into the side.
As you do, the structure gives way and a good like 30 feet or so just cumbles down around you.
You can feel the stones raining onto you. Because of your proximity, you take four points of impact damage.
I like it!
I'm gonna rubble.
This is what I bathe in.
Is ruined.
Let's see those guns again.
There's a good 15-foot pile of stonework now, like a lot of stonework.
and now, like, lock it in that entrance way.
15-foot pile?
Yeah.
There's a hole above it where the stone fell through.
So there is not complete up,
close action of the wall that is collapsed down.
Maybe it's whatever, make it harder.
Yeah.
Yeah. All right, that's my turn.
Okay.
Do recall that mind fliers do levitate.
Oh, God.
Maybe not now they don't?
I know, but I can't get around.
Tiberius, you go.
Okay.
You can also see forms swarming
through that other goalway over there.
Delaboris!
This isn't good.
Fly us, get us out.
How far, Scanlon's only like a foot away from here, right?
I'm like right next to it.
Yep.
Oh.
Be himself.
Is, uh, um, um, okay, um, I cast fly by myself.
Okay, hold on, hold on.
Bye, Typerius.
Hold on.
Hold on.
I redact that, actually.
Okay.
Is it possible?
I don't have to, I'm like, I'm really standing next to him, right?
So I don't have to use move action right now.
That'd be awesome.
Like, look at him and...
I leave.
No.
Okay.
Can I, uh, can I give him, can I take off my iron stone as like an action and swap his crown?
No, I'm pretty sure.
The item says attunement on it, you have to spend a short press to turning yourself with the weapon.
If either than it does.
But he didn't.
He hasn't attuned himself to the thing yet.
The item yet.
Huh?
To what?
Right.
But your ion stone.
I mean, maintain.
take it from him?
Yeah.
You would have to tune it to yourself in order to use it.
For how long does it take?
It takes a short rest.
Shit.
Okay.
Um, that changes everything in a very bad way.
Okay.
So you have the other doorways and blocked.
You have my plan running in.
You have probably more and more swarming for underneath the temple.
Probably over at some point from what you've seen of the temple structure.
Um, first is a really good listing, coffee.
So, so, uh, I'm going to, um, attempt.
to crush the horn.
What?
With a thousand pounds of pressure.
Okay.
Because my teleconesis is still going.
It's true.
I can't do anything else without dropping this thing.
Because as soon as I do anything else,
I drop the horn.
So I have to do that first.
That's why the other thing is bad.
So you use your action. Go ahead and roll for that,
for the crushing of teleconesis.
Oh, God. Oh, God.
What if we put the horn on trinket?
What am I adding?
What am I adding?
Oh, you add your modifier, which is, I think, five.
It's your .
Oh, 23.
Okay.
As you focus intensely, you feel that the horn itself,
the sheer force of the artifact is far too powerful for your media magic to have any sort of effect on its physical structure.
I thought so.
As you focus, your arcane intent on crushing it, you feel almost like the back of your brain needs to crawl with cold energy.
And if you could hear, if you could hear, if you could, you could, you could, you could
hear laughter come from something that is inanimate.
You're hearing it coming from the horn right now.
Fuck that horn.
I'm going to.
Load it into the bag quality.
I'm going to maneuver around the chaos,
because I'm not within range of anybody hurt me, right?
So I'm going to hop on the carpet.
This is all taking six seconds, by the way.
Yes.
It's all very fast.
30.
That's as far as you can get.
Well, I'm.
I can.
You already used your action to...
Oh.
Tsookinesis.
That's stupid.
That's how it works.
Hey, Percy.
That's my turn.
This is what I can do.
And I still maintain the thing.
Okay.
You don't get a guitar, so I return.
That brings us any Tiberius' turn to Percy.
This is a saving your ass, man.
I'm going to... I can't do it now.
To start flying straight up.
Okay.
And while I'm flying straight up, I'm going to take...
Can do it.
Constituations for the ones.
I'm gonna take a...
And I have to hold it more.
Two shots with the pepper box at the big rain.
Okay.
Can't show him in the words.
I can...
Go ahead.
Roll twice.
I can pass fly at the fifth level.
At first level.
I'm gonna use Sharp shooter.
And I need his item to do it.
That's...
21?
That's 21.
21 does hit.
And should I do both hits or?
Yeah, we'll both.
I don't know if you wanted in there.
And oh, and I...
No, that's right. I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, uh, critical at 19.
No, no, I need this.
Damn it. And that hits. So both hit. And they're both with sharpsuiters.
So that's nice.
So that's right. I haven't pulled my dice out yet. There we go.
Come on, gunslinger.
That's, uh, oh, that's nice. Yeah.
25 points of damage. All right.
And, um,
17 points of damage.
All right.
Gotcha.
And I'm sorry, and I forgot, sorry.
Four points of fire damage.
Okay, good.
All right, so as you
turn over the barrel of your weapon,
fire again, the second one bursting into flame
as it hits the top of the elder brain.
You can see both bolts sink into the flesh.
There's no impact.
It just seemed to be absorbed in by it.
The flame went underneath,
and you see a little gentle flame go from the inside.
And the flesh of the action.
actual large out of brain quivers for a moment.
You hear another, streaking kind of angry pain
grout in your minds just by the proximity of this entity.
You don't see it doing too much to it,
but it's definitely hurting it.
That ends your turn?
So, I mean, things can hurt really bad
and not do that much damage.
Can you face it right?
Corota spins.
Oh, Clorota's turn.
Come on, Clorota.
And comes up behind you.
Remember our days watching Save by the Bell together.
The song's selling songs.
You are stunned currently.
It's 24.
All right, so Clorodus tentacles.
Wrap around your head.
Booz!
You immediately take 15 points of psychic damage
and you are currently grappled.
And stunned.
Yes.
Grappled and stunned.
So grappled and stunned.
All right, that comes to Pike.
Pike, you're stunned currently.
The mind's still reeling from the pain.
Go ahead and make an intelligent saving throw.
I just roll the one.
Your physical form is still unable to pull yourself out of that continuous psychic pain.
You're like, trying to tear your mind out of it.
Unable to do so, Vax.
So Vax, you're up.
Okay, I click my boots of haste.
I'm going to, where's the thingy?
Do we have a thingy here?
What thing you need?
No, the thingy.
Oh, thingy.
There you go.
All right, so, great.
How's this work?
Like that, like that, like that.
All right, if I can run right between Pike
and this little brain jerk right here.
Yep.
Does that get me within five feet of elder brain
if I'm there?
I can't tell from the structure.
You can rush there.
You would have to get up under here to actually.
Yeah, that's what I want to do.
Okay, and then I don't know
That's not my full double movement. I don't know how that affects the number of attacks I have hasted
But I just want to stab it as many times as I can standing on top of this thing
All right. Where's the meteorite guy? Where's the meteorite die?
Using the put my poison dagger
Prison shake that yeah. Yeah, I'm gonna ship him to shake him in a shake or shake him in a ship whichever is the more accurate
phrase
All right
So go ahead and roll
for attack twice.
Gellos.
You're not in the bottom here while you do it.
As a note, as you rush by the, for the
argument between the intellect devourer does reach out and strike at you with its claws.
Rolls the one.
You just kick it off the side.
It rolls on the side.
It's brain matter on the ground.
It's two or three attacks.
As you get three, you use your bonus as well.
The first one misses.
What?
Second one is Dirk and Dirk and Dirk.
Oh wait. The first was a 17.
Does that...
It doesn't miss.
It's a brain, right?
The hole is 17?
Yeah.
That would still...
It doesn't miss, but as you strike down for it, there's a psychic field that's defending it.
And your blade just...
Is held at bay by the protective sphere.
Okay, then I'm using...
All right, now, Dagger of Venom is 26.
Okay, that does it.
Okay.
Uh, so that's...
Uh...
Because this isn't sneak attack or anything.
No.
That's 10 plus a poison for a DC of a...
poison for a DC of 15?
Okay, it makes the same throw.
Rolls the 17.
Okay, so that was that, and then the third attack,
I'll go back to the cane dagger.
14.
The second one strikes through, the poison tries to pull through.
Once again, it resists the impact.
The third dagger comes down to a 40mig gets halfway towards
there's a blast of psychic energy from the inside of the containment unit
that holds the Lederbrain that forces your hand back.
The attack deflected entirely.
That ends your terms.
Okay.
The other three phyllids now go?
Yeah.
I wish we had inspiration.
The long one.
Isn't there a rope still hanging from there?
Mm-hmm.
There's a rope.
Not you.
What is it?
Do what with the name of room?
You climb it.
Yeah, I could probably get up 15 feet.
Yeah.
I'm talking on massage right now.
Okay.
You just spit on my character sheet.
So this one's also going to turn around.
Reach forward, and his tentacles are going to attempt
to wrap around Pike's head.
Don't you touch my friends?
That's going to be a.
20? Matthew.
A natural 20?
No, no, no, it's just 20.
So, Pike, you go ahead and take,
this will be 15 points of psychic damage.
It was a good run, folks.
Oh no, no, no, that was a 20.
Where's it happened?
Wait, so he rolled a 20.
You rolled a 20.
A total of 20.
Yeah, and you're stunned currently.
So you take 15 points of psychic damage
as you feel, as you're trying to resist yourself
these cold tentacles wrap across
the front of your field of vision,
and you can feel
this weird, toothy, pointy, grinding sensation
getting to push towards the back of your skull.
This one, where.
What are you?
I'm at six.
Six points?
This one here is going to go ahead and attempt
to move up behind Severeas.
Tiberius, that is a 15 versus AC.
Nope.
What's your AC?
17, man.
17.
As you're rushing towards the magic carpet
that just took off.
Yeah.
Yeah, you look over and the tentacles swing towards you.
You duck just underneath and manage to avoid the attack.
Now the two intellect devourers.
Fuck.
One's going to go ahead and look up towards the magic carpet that's taking off.
And here we go.
Go within 10 feet.
Oh, you're too far away.
Too far away.
So instead it's going to go for you on top of the elder brain.
I want you to go ahead and make an intelligent saving throw.
Okay.
Fast.
20, natural 20.
Natural 20.
Needed that.
Needed that.
That's to the little brain.
The brains, the brain.
Get it, get it, get it, get it.
But few little brains.
So you feel a similar blast of kind of screaming energy
like you feel from the elephants, but it's more primal and more just kind of guttural.
You managed to just shrug it off from your mind and angrily look down at this weird,
fleshy, you know, creature.
Uh-fuh.
Um.
The other one moves up.
attempts to blast you again from the opposite side.
Make another intelligence saving.
19.
19.
Once again, the other one, you just feel
from the back of your brain, this shush,
this like shunning impact, and you just hold it off,
looking over this way.
I'm smart!
All right, that brings us to Scanlan.
Oh, Scal.
I'm grappled and stunned.
Yeah, so go ahead and make your saving throw.
Come on, buddy.
Come on, buddy.
Hey!
Yes!
Oh, yes!
Boom!
You shrug off the stunned effect, you're currently grappled by the entity.
You're so smart, you're so smart, you're so smart.
You're not.
Come on now, here we go.
It was getting hot.
Aren't you inspired?
All right, and then also make an intelligent saving threat.
What?
Because he's also got the things on me.
Just say 20.
Seven.
Oh, you get plus two.
Big nine, big nine.
Big nine.
Okay.
I said big nine.
We rolled a 20, so that's got to mean same.
I think a nine is a big six.
Yeah, that 20, like, carries over one.
Yeah, the leftover, the residual.
Like, you take the one and you carry it over.
Natural 20 residual?
Yeah, that little bit of.
I personally can't wait until we roll new characters next show.
No.
Shut up, show!
Shut up.
All right.
You guys enjoy that.
Unfortunately, you're still stunned.
Still stunned.
Oh, so I got off.
You resisted the mind effect, but the tentacles on your head
are now locking your brain in place, and your eyes
are kind of rolling back in your head as you feel the illifid's
mouth begins to push against the outside of your head.
I got to break my grapple, right?
Oh, yeah, just go ahead and roll athletics check.
One.
A natural one.
This guy.
A natural one.
I rolled a four.
Okay.
Oh my god.
It doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter.
Okay.
So it's still holding you in place.
You have your axe you picked up off the ground
with your chain of returning.
You can't physically move from your position as it's holding you there.
Well, the axes across the room, remember?
No, you threw it over here and you went and retrieved it at the end of the battle.
Oh, good. That's a good plus.
The fuck.
So you want to do?
So you can attack with your chain.
I can attack with the chain?
You have your axe with your chain returning.
You can't move, but you can still throw if you want to.
Uh, uh...
Oh, awesome.
Can you chop the dude's arms off?
It's holding me.
I don't think I can be like, eh.
Maybe the guy that has him, his tentacles or whatever.
I was going to try and save you.
Can I reach the ill?
It's far.
I mean, you can throw to either of them right now.
They're both bent over over gnome heads.
They're a bigger.
Where is Scanlan?
It's right here.
It's a delicacy.
That's pike.
Why the gnome hate?
It's rare.
It's rare delicacy.
All right.
I can't.
I'm going to try and throw it at the alert
at this whole lot again.
Okay, go ahead and roll for attack.
Tasty gnome.
All the fans who implied that Matt went light on us
the last game.
22?
22 definitely hits.
Go ahead and roll damage.
Okay, it's just one, two, three.
14 points of damage.
All right.
That one, you throw the axe.
It slams into the shoulder of the elephant's grabbing onto him.
You see it kind of look
up with you angrily and a large portion of its chest is now gashed open and blood is pouring
through the wound but it's still holding tight right now um i think that's going to end your turn
do you want to pull the axe back yes i would like to go ahead and make your check oh what do i fuck i
i roll to the thing with the 10 yeah what do i roll 12 say yeah that's d20 dude you have
only d20 i was d12 okay good okay 18 so you pull on the chain of returning it yanks the axe
out of the wound, and you catch it in midair,
preparing for the next round.
That 12 is a one.
All right, first round of combat over.
Let's roll better, guys.
This is looking really dire.
Vex, you're up.
Get it.
Save everyone.
You're up at the top.
You have a clear view of everyone.
That's true.
You're the only one with the bird's eye view.
Just run.
Save yourself.
Right now, right now, as it is,
these two ill-offids look kind of hurt.
These two look really rough.
This one looks really rough.
Both of these guys haven't been damaged yet,
but they have a little hit points.
Save yourself, start a new
train the next party.
You're a killer.
I am going to attack...
Hunter's Mark.
I'm going to put Hunter's Mark
on...
Oh, yeah, my brother just died.
I fainted it.
On the one attacking Scanlan.
Not on Scanlan, on the one attacking Scanlan.
Oh, right, sorry.
That's going out to get it.
What did I do?
In the confusion.
No, go ahead.
Only five, really five.
That was amazing.
14.
I thought we were cool.
14.
Unfortunately,
plus war,
God's blessing.
Can I guess that?
Gun.
But can I just do it just because
No.
Unfortunately, no.
But he's bent over.
He's bent over and I've got this bird's type thing.
Yeah, it just comes out.
You know what?
He is grappling, he's right in the way,
I'll go ahead and give you advantage that attack.
Roll again.
Yes!
Just roll again.
Take whatever it is.
Come on big money, no am.
22.
You can't.
Okay.
All right.
Because it's a stationary position
and completely engulfing
and you have just a great view from above.
Right, right.
11 points of damage, too much.
And you did you roll your hind
just mark damage?
No, I did not.
Don't forget, Hunt.
won't though.
Uh, three extra for Hunter's Marks.
So, Tink, Tilly.
Greetings, adventurers. Spring has sprung here in Los Angeles, and that means it's a
brief period where it's only 75 degrees instead of 95 degrees. I'll take it.
And that means I've been outside a lot more. Walking around, occasionally galloping after a
toddler hopped up on juice boxes, traveling a bit. You know the vibe. And after doing some spring
cleaning, my wardrobe, I got to say, looking a little bit sad. I want to
clothes that can keep up with me and my son, but updating my wardrobe every spring sounds
pretty expensive. So that's why I wound up signing up for Fabletics as a VIP. It let me overhaul
my springtime outfits without obliterating my bank account. New VIPs unlock major savings on
that first purchase, so trying new fits feels way more doable. When I signed up as a new VIP with
Fabletics, I got 70 to 80% off everything. It made it easy to grab a few new pieces without
overthinking it. And the quality really surprised me. Everything feels premium and soft and
breathable, but you're not paying those premium prices. What I like most, though, is how versatile
everything is. You've got stuff you can work out in, but also wear out. There's matching sets,
lightweight hoodies, joggers, teas, you name it. The kind of stuff you can throw on in the
morning and not worry about later. When I'm at home, my favorite thing to pull on is the oversized
hoodie. It's so comfy I could just live in it 24-7. It's perfect for walking my dog on like a chilly
night, but what I'm out and about, I've really been loving the ribbed Johnny Collar polo.
It makes me look like I should be taking a high-powered meeting by the pool at the White
Lotus, but hopefully with less murder involved.
I don't know.
It's insanely comfortable.
I highly recommend it.
So shop now at fabletics.com slash critical role to get 70 to 80% off everything when you sign up
as a new VIP.
Take a quick style quiz and be sure to select critical role when prompted to unlock your 70 to
80% off.
This is a limited time offer.
so don't wait. Again, that's fablatics.com slash critical role for 70 to 80% off everything as a new VIP.
And now, on to the show.
Greetings, Adventures, adventurers.
Lately, I've been getting a bit more intentional about what I wear from day to day,
because instead of just falling out of whatever laundry baskets nearby,
I've been leaning into pieces that feel easy and comfortable,
but still put together because it just makes getting dressed simpler when I have a plan.
Quince has been my go-to to help with that, because the fabrics feel,
elevated, the fits are clean, and everything just works without me needing to overthink it.
And Quint says all the wardrobe staples you need for spring. Think 100% European linen shorts and
shirts from just $34. They're lightweight, they're breathable, they're comfortable, your legs,
and torso will thank you, and he will still look put together. And clean 100% Pima Cotton T's with
a softness, well, you got to feel that to believe it, believe you me. Their pants also hit that
same balance. They're relaxed, they're comfortable, but still polished enough to.
to wear basically anywhere.
And everything's priced between 50 and 80% less
than what you'd find at similar brands.
Quince works directly with ethical factories
and cuts out the middlemen so you're getting premium
materials without the markup.
And since spring is here in Los Angeles,
a brief period where it's 75 degrees instead of 95 degrees,
I spruced up my wardrobe with a pair of the comfort stretch
traveler five pocket pants and the heritage wash
denim shirt.
Not only do they feel great, but I unequivocally
look good as hell while wearing them. That's just science. So refresh your every day with luxury
you'll actually use. Head to quince.com slash critical roll for free shipping on your order and
365 day returns. Now available in Canada too. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.com slash critical role
for free shipping and 365-day returns. Quince.com slash critical roll. Okay. Gotcha. That's your first
strike okay and my second one I'm gonna just should I just try to attack him again
kill him all right I'm gonna kill him I'm gonna try and hit him okay okay again 18 18 okay so
both strikes so go ahead and roll for damage 16 plus 19 okay both arrows one
embeds itself in the wound that Grog had left with the axe and you see like
body tenses chlorata kind of stares up at you with this being
angry look in his face. You realize, oh shit,
Corota's the one that's going after Scanlan.
Your second area, you bring down a release, and it pierces the side of its face,
gashing it through and embedding itself in the chest. You can see now
Clorna's looking really rough, but it's still still on.
How dare you?
This horrible thought goes into your mind, suddenly, a familiar voice saying,
You've all done your work now. It's time to feast.
It's a little bit.
Turn on us.
I knew he was going to do that.
What? None of us knew that.
I totally knew he was gonna do that.
All right, then it's your turn.
Keyleth, you're up.
No, test Corona, I don't test Corrid.
Every week.
You know who would help us right now?
Keymont would help us, but she's in, she's stone.
Can we make her not stone?
We can make her not stone.
Except if I didn't get a chance to.
If we were in store for so much I told you so.
All right.
See a game.
Maybe we should leave her.
I don't want to deal with that.
Who's up?
I can make, I'm gonna do my,
I'm gonna be like, oh crap, I'm gonna phase down.
Okay. I'm gonna pop up and I'm gonna break the well
that's holding the elder brain.
Get it? Yes.
Okay. Yeah.
So you're gonna stop here?
Over here.
Yeah, she can.
She's the thing.
Say here.
No, no, no that, I know that.
Okay.
Not that.
Right there.
Not where I might hurt Vax.
Well, that's anywhere.
Just do the outside, yeah.
Yeah, you might have to do like a flippy poo.
So what are you doing on the well?
You're just grabbing it and flipping poo?
Can I?
Can I?
No, it's embedded in the ground.
Like, what are you doing?
Oh, I am, okay, so I want to take and I want to just like punch
to crack a big's like side of it
to maybe help spill out the brains.
Okay, go ahead and make a slam attack on the side.
Come on, Keel it.
And then we'll stop on and make brain juice.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Stupid brain juice.
Yeah, it's a ball in the wine.
Oh, I'm not sorry.
I mean, it's an hide-on, it's a stationary rock.
What do I add?
Oh, wait, I add plus, sorry, I'm getting used to this,
plus eight.
Uh, 16.
16.
You slam into the side of the, you're not attacking the brain,
you're attacking the stone work.
You could feel there is some psychic resistance,
but because you're not attacking the brain directly,
your fist slams into it, making purchase in the stone,
go ahead and roll damage against the stone.
Come on this.
Double damage, break, privilege,
damage, big damage.
Two points.
20 damage.
Yes!
The side of a stonework, crumbles inward.
Pieces of the stonework itself seems to be jutting in towards the elder brain,
but it's stopped by some sort of second resistance.
But this whole side here to here is now just open entirely,
and you can see now the whole, the mass of multiple,
like there's like probably hundreds of various ill-ethed brains
that have slowly congealed into one large brain structure
is now you can see the underneath area,
and the liquid that it kind of sits in the middle of the liquid that it kind of
is now pouring out down the side of the structure.
Hope they have flood insurance.
Oh, I know that this should be terrifying.
Oh, man.
The flood insurance, yeah.
The guy goes slam!
Holy shit, that was amazing.
Flo just got real, all right?
Flow just got real.
That's no better, actually.
From progressive flow.
Although the flow of the, you know what, never mind.
So you only have the one slam attack?
You know, Earth-O-Mental, is it multi-attack?
Yes, that's the one.
My slam attack is.
Right. Okay, cool.
Oh no, no, wait.
I have multi-Earth elemental makes two slam attacks.
That don't make another one.
You guys!
Are you talking to the stonework still?
Yeah, I'll, I'm just gonna take the other chunk
and punch it.
So we'll say you used some of your movement to move this way,
which by the way, guys, you can break up your movement.
You can, like, move, attack, then move if you want to.
So you can.
You can't.
Yeah.
Unless it will be almost holding your body.
This Cox.
Uh, 16 plus eight, so 22.
That'll definitely do it.
Go ahead.
Is that total damage?
Or that's the attack.
Okay, go ahead and we'll date.
Uh, four, um, and uh, 18 damage.
18's fine.
All right, so you break out the second half.
Now the entire side of it is open.
Uh, all the fluid just spilled out on the side,
and you get this in the side.
this is very frowned upon.
Is that into turn?
Tiberius, you're up.
A tonnical frown.
So Irish up and Percy ticks off.
As a note too, did you see you guys are aware?
I didn't even come to the carpet, sorry.
I said, come in.
No, no, no, we never close either door.
You start seeing a series of other entities,
slowly making the right up from the downstairs tunnel area.
What's in your butt?
I think we can be able to do.
I think we can.
beat them all. Seeing what's going on,
as, there's an illiter right behind me, right?
There is, right behind you, yeah.
No, we didn't. Okay.
Closed on. But then he said that they could levitate, so I
could go over.
Crog was being held prisoner by like an 80-pound dude.
So I'm running up and then person takes off so I can't reach him.
Yeah, yeah. Awesome. Well, well, I want to
That's like, you know.
Can I...
I need, like, a technical question.
Can I move the horn and, like, let go of the spell so I can then do my turn?
Yeah.
Or does that take a thing to do that?
Like, I want to let it go.
No, no.
That's...
Good.
So as I'm running up to the carpet, I see Percy go and I'm like...
I'm Tiamot lover.
So I bring over the horn, and right at the tip and hit on the carpet, and let it go.
You deal with it then!
Percy?
That's what you get.
I don't give it to Percy.
I live it on the carpet.
I'm saying it's on his carpet right now,
staring at him from the side.
Put it on, Percy.
I see the, oh God, okay, I can only do this once.
I see the, are they, they're not inside yet, right?
No, they're just starting to get to the doorway.
You can see them.
Awesome.
Okay, so.
Okay, that is a, and this is a,
Okay.
What did you got, Tyberius?
Um...
Bambam-bub-bub-pum.
Okay, um...
Right.
I have...
I blow everything.
I'm gonna blow everything.
Yes, blow everybody.
Sure!
I'm a diplomatic of you.
I...
I'm stunned.
You cannot resist.
So, Typhiri.
So I leave the horn there.
I turn to...
where the door is.
Uh, obelisk of stone.
I seal up the entryway.
Okay.
That's good.
Smart.
How many with that?
What level are you using it?
That's, I can, well, how wide is it?
Like 15 feet?
It's roughly, it's a little over five feet wide.
Great.
I only need one, right?
Technically, yeah.
Okay, oh, oh, okay.
So, I steal that one.
Okay.
I'm gonna use all three right now.
Seal the other one, too.
I only partially sealed it.
I'll steal the other one.
Okay.
Um, and I'll use the old one on myself.
going on myself.
Okay.
Nice.
And I'm going to use...
I have three left.
Um, yeah, okay.
And I'm going to use my last three sorcerer points that I have, and I have zero points after this.
And I'm going to clash blur on myself.
Okay.
And that's my turn.
All righty.
So, you now start hearing a...
At least your...
Slamming sounds from the other side of the sun walls.
Both sides of the walls are now sealed off.
The walls are now sealed off with pillars.
I had a large pile of rebel on that side.
Let's get the fuck out of here.
Right.
Percy, you're up.
All right, before I go anywhere, I'm taking a shot at Clorota.
Okay.
Betraying, bastard.
Markman with a sharpsuiter.
That's 13 to do that combo.
Flood juice on it.
19 points.
That hits.
That hits, and let's do my damage.
That's, uh, do a human.
Fire the foetopold.
That's, uh,
22 points of damage.
Shit on it.
Okay.
So Scanlan, as you're stunned, you feel the tentacles swirling around the back of your head.
Teeth are grinding into the back of your skull and you feel this horrible pain.
As all of a sudden, Grodot's mouth is going to find a way towards your skull.
And then the tentacle suddenly go limp.
As the back of his head,
Yes!
Trita!
Trayda!
They killed Roroda!
You killed him?
Yes.
Some people have no scornado!
sense of fucking honor.
Shraga!
Oh, first.
Yes.
One second, your longtime ally, now turn coat,
is scattered across the stone floor.
You released, you're no longer stunned.
Hi.
I still have another shot.
You do.
Who's, who's?
Is there still one on Pike, right?
There's still one on Pike.
I'm taking a shot there.
Come on, purse.
Come on, purse.
Pugh!
Pugh!
Oh, yeah.
So that's 17, 17, 18, 19.
That is.
Okay, it just hits. All right. I'm trying to use sharpshooter, so it changes everything.
And that's...
18 points of damage. Okay. And did we get a short rest before this fight happened?
No. No, you're not. Of course. God, no.
That's why we're all burnt out on shit. That's why we're all burnt out on shit. Okay. Yeah. The other one...
I'm gonna go up further. I didn't help you, fine.
Thanks, I'm here he is.
I abandoned my truth.
I'm going to come in handy now.
Am I high enough yet for her to jump down under the,
yeah, you can probably blow her.
So if you want the bear want to drink,
is anybody a bad?
Why would you, you've got to come save us.
Yeah, no, go down and save them, honestly,
because I'm staying up top for her right now.
Unless we can turn out.
Oh, in that case, instead of going up,
I'm going to go, I'm going to go, I'm going to go,
I'm going to go, uh, fly to the right then.
Get, get, get, pick up Vax.
Why?
Said Vax.
What?
Vax, pick up Vax.
Yeah, so I'm gonna fly down towards Vax.
Okay, so you're going down to here instead?
Yeah. Okay, you can get about, we'll say if you're just going.
Yeah, go there.
Hi.
What's that, we'll put you in this at.
Hey, you guys.
Okay, that ends your turn.
Look at this.
That brings you.
Let anything happen to the guy that had me, uh.
He just took damage, but he's not done yet.
He's still a lot.
So Pike, it's your turn.
Go ahead and roll to get rid of the mind blast, son.
Come on, Pikey.
Seven. Seven? Nope.
You're still locked in place.
Can you heal yourself?
She cannot move.
Her entire brain is locked in with a searing, clenching pain.
Like, psychic energy is just clutching her brain
and holding it up.
It's so beautiful, though.
No.
Looks so sexy when you're arriving at night.
You feel, once again, the teeth are getting
to pierce the back of the flesh.
You feel the teeth of the mind flare
are beginning to scrape against the skull,
the actual bone it's found in the back.
Vax, you're up.
What did Lerota do with his hat?
Oh, it's somewhere on the ground over here.
Over behind, uh,
we're behind this.
Okay, I'm still hasted.
I'm gonna run down the center over,
I'm gonna step on Clorotas,
I don't know if he has nuts,
but wherever, whatever's there.
Somebody grab his helmet and put it on.
I'm gonna sit's hair.
Run around Scanlan.
and place his fucking hat on my head.
Okay.
And then run up behind that third
mind flayer who I don't think is taking a hit yet
and just start stabbing you in the back.
From here?
On Pike.
I can't get back there.
You can't?
I don't think so.
What do you be able to make here?
Well, it's up to, oh dear.
You can't, with your number speed you run there
because you're based just double.
I'm hasted. I can run 12 plate spaces.
So if you think that I could have run around the mind flare,
put on.
Five, six, seven.
I already had.
Nine, ten, eleven.
Yes, you can.
Okay, great.
So I'm gonna start stabbing him in the back.
Angola.
All right.
Okay, yes.
So angry.
First one is a 15.
Unfortunately.
No, that does just hit.
Good.
That's a sneak attack because she's next to him.
There is nothing in the rulebook about stunned or unconscious or anything.
How sneak attack works is the ex-one is aggressive towards them.
They feel like they have people on two fronts, which is why you get to be.
fronts which is why he gets the benefit he is to be very occupied there I will
I will say I will say circumstantially though because he is currently grappled on
to Pike and is in the process of trying to grind into her brain yeah its mouth he is a
little preoccupied at the moment so I'm gonna go ahead I'm gonna go ahead and make a
perception roll your fast movement go ahead we got a dice versus dice situation
Rolls off.
Oh, okay.
Oh, God.
See whether or not he takes notice
and decides to change is.
I roll at 24.
Okay, go ahead, and the first attack you rolled
was 15 that hits.
Okay, thank you.
That is a sneak attack.
You did not see you coming that quickly.
All right, so that is four plus seven is 11,
plus 26, 30, 33.
33 with the keen dagger.
Yeah.
33 with the keen dagger?
And I'm sticking that in the back of his neck.
Okay, that was your first attack?
That's the first time.
Okay, so the first egg sinks in the back of the neck.
You see like, you just managed to miss all the seriously vital stuff,
but you carve a giant section of the side of its head.
The rest of its like leathery black outfit
now are slick with its own blood,
but you see it like angrily growls almost this weird guttural sound
as it still remains tot and clenched on the Pygagin's eyes,
gliding it and glaring at you.
Basically he's telling you, look what I'm about to do to your friend.
Oh.
Okay, so good thing I have more knives.
So I take the other one flip it in my hand
and then stick it into the neck afterwards,
That is a 24.
That hits?
Yeah, it does.
That's eight fire damage.
I don't know if he takes any fire damage.
And I'm gonna then stick him with my poison dagger,
which isn't gonna poison him.
But that is a 26, which hits as well.
That does hit.
That is eight.
Eight points of damage.
So the first one, you stab in the side of the head,
you pull back, you toss in the air, catch the second one.
As it bursts into flames, you place the searing dagger
down into the center of its back, between the shoulder blades.
It's back tenses, and as it does, it kind of
reaches back and tries to grab for the dagger
as you pull back the third one.
As it looks back at you, it brings up one arm kind of stop you.
As it goes in to directly go after Pike's head,
the third dagger, you then stab it right in the front of the skull.
Its eyes kind of roll back in its head,
and its tentacles literally drag off.
As a bonus action, I would like to Goodfellas
kick him about eight times in the ribs.
Yes, yes.
I'll allow it, allow it.
What?
Oh my God.
Because that guy was next.
If we didn't kill him this turn, he would have killed tight.
She would have taken 55 points again.
50!
Let's not even say the number.
You save the life.
And if it takes them to zero hit points, they extract the brain.
So now we got to squish those little brains.
So now, we're coming real close.
Let's see if they get their mind blast back.
Nope.
Show us not good for my blood pressure.
I know.
Oh my gosh.
It's like tons of fight or flight.
I'm blind in my left eye.
They should fix your sleep schedule, though, right?
Yeah, totally.
Seeing both of them get immediately slaughtered,
both of these elephants just plane shift.
Yeah, get the fuck, you guys.
In a defensive standpoint, self-preservation is kicking in.
However,
Intellective hours do not have self-preservation.
They're there for a specific reason.
So this one here.
Kick those fucking things like footballs.
is going to move over to this side and is going to attempt to make a devour inflict attack against Keeleth.
Keelith, go ahead and make an intelligent saving throw.
I mean, I'm in elemental.
You keep your intelligence score as the, as you.
Oh, I do?
The physical attributes you get from the elemental form.
Oh, phenomenal.
You keep your intellect, wisdom, and charisma.
Okay, then 18.
18, okay.
You resist the blast of mental impact from the intellect devourer.
about it's now on the ground with its four kind of feral legs it's kind of brain
form rippling the second one is gonna turn over here and saw the two shots
the one that took out Cloroda it turns up towards Percy as you've lowered on
the on the magic carpet Percy go ahead make an intellect saving throw
eight eight all righty oh boy that ain't no good you take 11 points of
psychic damage there's an and there isn't there and it's undone immediately
And you take eight points of intellect damage.
Ooh.
Oh, this is what happened to Grog.
Yeah, but you're better up than six, right?
Eight points of intellect damage, what does that mean?
Mine is from your intelligence.
You would know if you had more ill.
It means your intelligence forever.
Oh, no, no, no.
No, for this, basically, what's your intelligence?
16.
16, yeah.
The blast hits you and you just shrug off the impact.
It has to exceed your intelligence.
intelligence. Oh, so do I still take eight more points of
of damage, though? No, no, no, you just took the...
Oh, I just kind of go... Yeah, the...
The...
Legen hours would work a little...
I like... I'm like...
I'm like...
I'm like...
I'm like... They can't just not.
...it's like, huh?
That ends up. That brings us to...
Scanlan.
You're no longer stunned.
You're now have full capacity of herself
and you're looking around.
Oh, shit.
Do we get out of here, or do we
try to kill these things?
Can you get us out of you?
I can get some of us out of here.
Start getting out.
Are we getting out or are we fighting?
Nope.
Get us out.
Okay.
Because we still have these two fuckers.
We have to do what you want.
Tiberius can get some of us out, right?
It's just the little brains.
It's just the little brains for now.
For now, but I mean, people can meet through those doors.
That's not a permanent thing.
We need 60 seconds to get out of here is what we need.
We need 60 uninterrupted seconds all the hill.
Well, we can start gathering our shit though and pack it up.
We can start packing up.
Oh, my.
Am I leaving or am I staying?
You do what you want.
Do what you want.
It's chaos.
All right, then I'll attack.
Do what Tricot can tell you.
I'll ring back to the drift at the sides of the temple from the floor.
We're coming from inside the temple and from the house.
We should probably get out of here.
They're coming up the sides.
We can't get you.
I run up to Pike.
I grab her hand.
I say I want to have babies with you.
Let's get out of here.
here. So now I come to you with dimension door.
And we get out.
Can I do a mask cure?
We're just gonna go up to the top.
No, but they're coming up.
They're coming up the top.
From the mind blast, you haven't made your save.
We're going up to the top of the thing, just to the roof.
Okay, because they're coming up.
We're going to be at that.
Very soon.
Well, I didn't know that.
It's done.
It's done.
It's fine. It's good that they're up there.
Shit, good, good, good, good.
And as a bonus, I'm going to send some inspiration to Grog.
Okay, so as your dimension door, you just go ahead and move back.
Using the song of love you gave to Pike, you give back,
give a wing to Grog, Grog, you take a 1d10 inspiration.
And you too, Grogh.
One Denspiration dice to you.
Okay.
Grog, we would like you to rage.
I'm already there.
I'm just being fucking grappled.
Is it my turn?
It is no.
Oh, can I try it for the third?
time to break free. You can make it, go ahead and make your affirmation. I'll use the
Dysmereux Dane. I'll see where you'll all. Well you can use it after you do it. See what you roll
and then add it. It's athletics, right? Athletics, yeah.
18. 18. Yeah, you
break out of the creatures. Grafts suddenly it's like reaching out you from behind the bars.
You can see there's like the slick kind of brackish oil on your body from where it was holding
you, fleshless arms clutching you to the bars.
So is everybody leaving? Should I climb up the rope?
There is a lady chema who is turned a stone right here.
Fuck, lady chema.
Sorry, she's talking.
You had a crush on her.
Can you grab her in time?
You can.
She's not a big stone structure.
I'm going to go.
I'll pick her up, and I start trying to climb up the rope.
Okay, so you rush, you grab the stone floor.
Put her in the bag of holding.
She's heavy.
Oh, no!
No!
No!
It doesn't matter!
Don't do that!
It's true!
You don't know.
Oh, no.
Oh, fine, I'll hold on to her.
No!
Can you make like one of those like baby slings for her?
Like stuck her in your belt?
Not time for arts and crap.
You run up, you grab Lady Kima, you grab in your arms and you rush the rope is currently dangling from this side.
You guys first came down.
Stop all over the brain to get to it.
Stop, squishy.
You can just get to the rope and we'll say as your dash action, you can begin to climb if you like.
I would like to climb.
Okay.
I would like to raise.
I would like to raise.
To raise.
I would like to wage.
It's about there.
Rage climbing, you're like, hmm, yes.
One hand.
Like one on hand and up the road.
It's pretty intense.
Go ahead and make some athletics check.
Like CrossFit training come in handy.
17. 17, yeah.
It's sore.
You know that arm is gonna be dead tomorrow,
but right now it doesn't even matter.
You're just clutching.
Lady Kima still locked in her attack pose.
And one arm is you're like overhand grabbing the rope
and getting yourself like that to your head.
You better remember this when you wake up.
Rage climbing up.
Driving the clips of insanity!
That brings us to Vex.
Oh, good one.
I should just stay where I am, right guys?
And you should shoot things.
I'm going to do that, yes.
Is there any other, there's just a little brain in there right now?
Right now there's two brains and you can see
just in the outskirts of the temple side here,
two more illifid that are making the way up the side of the temple.
Oh, fuck me.
With about a hundred or so just now gathering towards the bottom of the temple base.
Jesus.
We're gonna get out of here real fast.
You guys are listening to me, right?
Because things are coming up the side
and we need to get out of here.
But what if there's gold down there to find?
I don't think.
I've got a hunter's mark.
A little brain.
Or should I keep attacking the elder brain?
What do you guys think?
Why don't you do what you're going to do?
Elder brain is spilling out the side now, isn't it?
The elder brain is still inside.
Just the stonework on the outside of it is currently knocked out.
Yeah, I have a carpet that anyone's lost to go.
I mean, they might get sent real.
I have to do it.
I know, that's why I'm kind of like.
Hey, what?
Just maybe if we should try to get out of here,
but maybe if we can friggin hurt that brain,
it'll stun them or send them reeling or something.
All right.
I can do, I can do halel thorns on it again.
So I'll hunter's market and then I'll do halo thorns on it.
All right.
Um, 27.
Battle it.
Hail to the chick.
releasing again in mid-air, you can see all the thorns
peer out the side to the arrow shaft.
It explodes into a giant conical, just a ray,
almost like a blizzard of thorns.
I don't add, do I add hundred mark to that damage
or just my regular damage and then that?
At the end of all the damage you dealt with the attack,
you didn't add hundreds mark.
Okay, okay.
Two, 24.
24, all right.
Keelith, go ahead and make a reflex saving throw.
What's happening?
Oh, right, because you're right next to it.
Sorry, Kila.
Oh, that's okay.
Yay.
My reflite, I use my Dex modifier for my elemental correct?
Or deflead, yeah, sorry, old.
Here, right, right, it's Dex theory.
10.
10 versus your spell save of...
14.
Yeah, so you take the same damage.
You take 24 points of damage.
Sorry.
Oh, right, you're really, really strong.
Yeah, I've got 100 hit points still.
Okay, yeah.
So how many points, 21?
24.
So just all the thorns explode against your rocky,
physical form, you just kind of shrug it off,
like it's nothing.
It took a little.
I'm good.
So I'll try to, I guess I'll just attack it again
because I got nowhere else to go.
Okay.
17?
All right, 17.
Oh, if you know, 17, we'll miss.
Oh, really?
With it oozing out and everything?
The second, it's still, there's some sort of
psychic protective field in the brain as you fire down.
The arrow looks like it should strike and then it just
arcs off the side, nonsensically,
and then just splinters against the stonework next to your touch.
Fudge!
Just there you are, you're gonna move.
Get on Trinket.
I'm gonna get on the Trinket for some reason.
Okay, you-
Climb on the Trinket's back.
That brings this to,
Keyleth, you're up.
Okay.
What's the situation with the-
With the brain soup?
I'm trying to, I'm trying to.
The liquid is bored out.
And how are the brains?
Are the brains just kind of like floating down to the-
No, it's actually all the-
At a long distance, it looked like one giant brain close up.
It looks like all of these small brains have all congealed into one giant mind.
It's like a jello mold of brain.
Like a jello mold of a brain.
And there's like fluid coming out from underneath of it.
Yeah, like the whatever fluid it was sitting in,
it was mostly submerged in, is all now poured out onto the ground near you,
being it slick.
Okay, here's what I'm going to do.
Okay.
I'm gonna go, I'm gonna be like phase under, phase down,
and I'm gonna get under where the brain would be,
and I'm gonna...
Superman punch it. Yes.
From underneath.
Okay, go ahead and make an attack roll.
Come on, punch it in its big brain, aides.
23.
23, that hits, go ahead and roll damage.
Da-da-da-da-da.
Uh-huh.
11.
Wait, is that my...
No, 22.
Oh, 22.
You're right.
22.
It's not double damage.
One double four is true.
Okay, so 11.
So 11 points of damage.
All right, now I want you to go ahead and make a strength check.
Okay.
That sounds fun.
Just roll and add your strength modifier of the Earth elemental.
Um, uh, uh, 14.
Okay.
As you punch up or you're, you're still partially, you know,
absorbed into the earth, but your fist comes through underneath, slams it,
you feel as like this sickening thud sound as your fist hits the interior of the brain.
It still kind of moves a little bit, but it stays in its place, uh, held off by its own psychical,
Psychical, it's psychic defense mechanism.
Make your second attack.
Okay, yeah.
Same, 21.
21 hits, go ahead and roll damage on that one.
Big damage.
Big money, big money.
Oh, that's better.
16.
16 damage.
All right, go ahead and roll another strength.
Eight.
Eight, okay.
Once again, you slam your fist into it,
you feel like the impact is absorbed partially
by the psychic field around the brain.
It holds itself in place.
It's still not moving from within that.
Do I stay or do I get out?
Get out.
You still have about, I'd say that only took you
about 15 feet of movement to get underneath.
In my burrowing speed, right?
So I'm gonna start burrowing up the side of the mountain,
or up the side of the temple, so I can pop out next to them.
Okay, so we'll say four or five,
what's your total burrow speed?
60.
So you'll be about there.
Okay.
So about as high as Tiberias is it, partially.
up the wall.
I'm in the wall.
You won't see you.
You're gonna bring on the breath.
Fax, you're still.
Yeah.
Go right over again.
Carbon.
Up on there.
As you glance in, you kind of have a brief look
at the outside of the wall and on the opposite side.
There are two other mind players, one more coming up on the side,
and another troll behind it, the troll is slamming under the side of the,
the bricks that you left up.
Oh my god.
And these two little kids are starting to look up and see you moving up,
and their eyes go up, and they can see the opening in the top of the,
of what the wall collapsed earlier, and they both look up and kind of start drifting up towards it.
So, that ends your turn.
Tiberius, you're up.
What's the order after me?
Well, it's Percy, Pike, Vax, then they go.
I was going to hold this, get everybody on my, I was going to hold my turn, get everybody on the room.
I'm coming.
Okay, good.
I cast fly on, at fifth level.
I cast it on myself.
I cast it on grog.
I cast it on...
You're not there.
Trinket. Trinket.
She's on Trinket.
So I can fly if I'm on Trinket, right?
Yeah.
Awkwardly.
Sweet.
All right, so...
So Grog, Trinket, and...
Me.
Yourself.
Okay.
And I...
What's the thing?
fly speed on that?
Um, outside.
Skillion.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I have wings.
It's right here.
It's right here.
I have the cards.
The cards.
Look at the cards.
Uh, maybe 60 feet.
60 feet.
Nice.
I'm making way up top and you're now hovering.
Trinkets now having another Peter Pan moment with you on its back, awkwardly.
Just gotten used to flying on its own that one time it had.
Now it has an extra weight on its back.
You can do it, buddy.
You can do it.
You got it.
All right.
Oh, wait, hold on.
I want to turn to everyone and go,
Fly your foots.
That's a reaction, I'll not you there.
Percy, you're up.
I'm holding my turn.
You're holding back?
I'm holding my turn.
Pryce, holding back.
Pike, go ahead and make an intellect.
There you.
19.
19.
You finally shrug off the effect of the mind
so your eyes clarify.
Does she fall in love with the first thing she sees?
The first thing you see is Scanlan holding you.
You're now outside of the temple.
There's the dark kind of dull, glowing, green atmosphere
of the outside of the entire Yugveril city around you
with bits of blue crystal, you know,
against the cavern walls, and it's scary.
You look around you, you can see Ilyithed charging up the side
of the temple just gliding towards you angrily.
You look forward and on your shoulders clutching you
is Scanlan blood streaking down the front of his face, the big smile.
the big smile.
Scanlan, are you hurt?
I'm fine, baby.
How are you?
I'm great.
Well, not really, but I'm just gonna pretend I'm happy
so that everybody can be okay.
Wait, that's right, Liberia.
Wow, I have some intense child.
Okay, mask cure wounds.
Okay.
For the, well, hold on a minute.
How low is everybody?
Not really low.
I'm fine.
I'm at 32.
He's pretty low.
You two are the only.
Yeah.
You cast something on chema and make, oh no, we just keep her slow.
You're super low.
You're super low.
Yeah, cast it on yourself, man.
Yeah, heal yourself.
Okay, miss.
She can hold this part of her turn until everybody's up there.
Mass cure wounds on yourself?
Because it messer means for multiple people.
No, can I just do.
You cure wounds to yourself.
I can.
Yeah.
But he needs it too.
Your choice.
That's also a touch.
You have to be next to him to do that.
Just do you.
You need it.
All right, I need it.
Oh no.
You're at six, yeah.
Six.
You need it.
I recommend it to you.
The DM recommends it.
The team is.
You were so close to die again.
I'd be so scared.
They're stringently urge you.
More out of time.
DM is recommended.
All right, 17.
So you heal yourself 70 hit points.
You clutch your holy symbol.
You feel the warmth fill your body, and your wounds kind of seal up slowly.
You feel a little better because you were on death store there.
Yeah.
All right.
You want to move it all?
Bonus action.
Anything else when to do this turn again?
No, I'm at 23.
Wait, so bonus action?
Yeah, if you want to do anything.
Get on the bear!
No, you can't.
He can barely.
Oh, really?
You don't have to.
You barely hold.
Oh!
But, um, I can't do that, right?
What?
You ruined that joke.
Right now, Trinit can barely go.
Thank you for you for guys.
So bonus action.
It's like a trunk in front of me.
Yeah, I'll give Scanlon a kiss on his cheek.
Okay.
Oh!
Do I get inspiration for that?
You do.
Yes.
D6 inspiration.
I'm never gonna watch it again.
You never watched it to begin with.
It's this strangely romantic moment.
She reaches forward, grabs him and kisses him and the cheek
and pulls away and he looks at her with this beautiful smile
and then the sound effects kick in again of like the bat screeching ahead
and the...
Of all the elephants swimming up the side of the temple.
Oh God, we're still in a war zone.
We've got to get together.
Get together.
Get together, me.
All right, Vax.
Okay, I run up the dais, laying on the brain.
I'm on my way, but before I go,
Let me kiss you goodbye.
Dagger, dagger, stabbing it to the brain
before I leap onto the carpet.
Okay.
Here we go.
Pung true that jello mold.
Second one is 25.
25, okay.
Which gets nine damage.
All right.
And last dagger is the 13.
No.
Okay, so I give him a little cut, little nick,
and then jump on the plank.
The war is over and both sides lost.
Kingdoms were reduced to cinders.
an armies scattered like bones in the dust.
Now the survivors claw to what's left of a broken world,
praying the darkness chooses someone else tonight.
But in the shadow dark, the darkness always wins.
This is old-school adventuring at its most cruel.
Your torch ticks down in real time,
and when that flame dies, something else rises to finish the job.
This is a brutal rules-light nightmare
with a story that emerges organically,
based on the decisions that the characters make.
This is what it felt like to play RPGs in the 80s,
and man, it is so good to be back.

Jump onto the flying car.
All righty.
And I grab Percy around the neck and go, kiss him around the cheek, and say, let's get out of here.
you bastard.
Do I get an inspiration point for that?
No.
Unfortunately.
Unfortunately.
I don't know how I feel it about.
But down the road, maybe.
This is the start or something beautiful.
I'm feeling something new.
But this used Germany for a while.
Then the dice may come natural.
She'd be holding your turn.
Percy, you want to go now?
I want to go now.
All right.
So I bring you here.
Percy, go ahead.
I'm just gonna reel straight up,
and on my way up, I'm gonna take two more shots at the brain.
Okay, okay.
We'll see here for the purposes of this.
Take some more shots?
Yeah, we're like 80 feet above the camera.
Oh, I'm suffocating in the brain.
Oh, no, it's all over.
What's the first rule?
16. It's like the Indiana Jones ride.
16, does hit?
No, it's not even flat.
Okay, we're just gonna, we're gonna put it in.
And 19.
16 doesn't hit.
The 19 just barely hits. It pierces through the psychic barrier, the bullet-syn
again into the fleshy membrane.
Oh, that has a, yeah, the second one has a bonus time.
Yeah, ice shot.
Ice shot.
Maybe you'll freeze it.
Percy and Vax, ship it.
Jello shots.
That's 13 points plus two points of ice damage.
Okay, so six and five.
All right.
It blasts inside.
You can see the ice.
These like strange crystals of frozen liquid.
It burst out, almost like it actually freezes the blue explosion in place for a moment.
and then the ice just slowly melts away.
Yeah, there's some damage dealt to it,
but this is a hearty sack of hit points.
And it's coming online.
So with the end of your turn,
the brain now taking a bunch of hits
begins to pulse with energy.
Now that it's been freed from its control
and it slowly brought itself out of this kind of trance
like slumber that was placed in by Kavarn.
The altar brain is now becoming conscious once again.
Oh dear.
Can we go up on question mark?
Can you put us at our height now?
Can you represent us accurately?
So at a 30-foot radius, which you guys are,
it gives off a pulse of energy.
This giant psychic burst of purplish psychic blasts just
cascades out of the center and just fills the room for a second with this large,
dull thud-like thoom sound.
All of you, and you see this explosion that just dissipates
it crests the bottom of the magic carpet,
which is just out of range.
Oh.
Oh.
You're wearing the helmet at least.
At which point, you guys are at the top,
looking off the side, all the illifid that are rushing up the tunnel,
there's a sudden flash of purple energy in their eyes
simultaneously.
Like now the elder brain has come back online
and is reconnected with these people.
Oh, no, out, out, out, out, out.
All right, that brings us to Grog.
I could keep flying up.
All of a sudden, like, the rope is really easy to go up.
There's nothing. You're just going hand over hand.
You can fly, Grog!
I have one more level three, whatever it's called, level three,
healing potion. They're called like Superior or something.
What's the word for it?
I'd like to take that superior spider potion insurance.
I have so much of...
It's the news here.
Piper, online.
They just move around.
They're angry. They can't quite get to their targets.
There's targets.
So that's, I healed 24 points of hit damage.
Fantastic.
Sweet.
So rolling from the bottom.
Tap around.
Okay.
The troll burst through the door,
filling with the two minor flares behind it.
They both look up frustrated.
What else?
Both begin to drift up.
No.
As far as they get.
How do we get out of here?
We're going to attempt.
How are we going to get out of here?
Two mind blasts.
To the roof.
Mind blasts.
All right.
That's as high as they get a limitation.
We see the full height that takes the top because technically you guys are up here.
I just couldn't put the structure that high up.
The only people, the only person that's in the radius would be Scanlan and Pike.
Again.
All right.
Look at you guys make intellect saving throws again.
I'm just looking into her eyes the whole time.
the whole time.
Can you sing?
You've got that inspiration die.
Oh, I do.
Don't need it, though.
I'm at 20.
Okay.
14.
14.
All right.
You, uh...
Can I sing for her?
Unfortunately, I have to do that on your turn.
So you managed to resist the effects of it.
You take 22 points of psychic damage, and once again, your brain clenches...
Good thing you do!
She was so funny.
Every thing you healed yourself.
Nice.
She was a 23.
That's 22.
That's one point.
Yeah.
That's the second time this round.
But you feel all of a sudden like the blast hit you and you see your eyes kind of roll back in her head as she reaches up and grabs the side of her head again, nearly dropping her shield and mace, which you managed to catch before they clattered down into the temple.
Okay.
Well, maybe, come on.
Maybe, maybe we'll be okay.
Do you want some more dice?
All right, frog, you're up.
Are you so many different dice?
there, got you up there, that went. That brings it to the top of the round.
Fax, you're up.
Take it, take it, give it to her, please.
Head to the beach!
You're on top of the round.
It's on top of the very, it's very end of the new guys.
You can shoot the brain on the way out.
Yes, you can.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna, uh.
To finish the brain off and then fly!
I'm gonna do.
Yeah, I gotta roll that.
You know, she can fly to nothing.
Is some of that brain fluid still floating around it, like out and stuff?
Well, we woke it up.
I know.
But it's now it's awake, so.
I feel like I found out.
Where's he shot?
No, actually, you didn't.
Just turn on that one.
Sorry, I think we skipped scat on, unfortunately.
You gave me a really good.
Oh, should I kill the brain?
Yes.
Or try to kill the brain?
If you can also flee at the same time.
Well, he used to wait for the carpet.
The brain's down there in the puddle, in the pool.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't move.
Is that big scaffolding still hanging over?
it? It's currently dangling over to this side because it's been busted from three different
corners and it's like precariously hanging. But it's not right over the thing. No, it's off
the side now. But it might like fall and tip. It's pretty hit me. Could somebody also use telekinesis
to pull the other one? I don't have the necessary item to do two. Is it heavy? Is it super
heavy? It's pretty heavy. The twilight is close to seven.
hundred to a thousand pounds what does the giant
gas structure all the structure and how high up how high above it is it like
would get a significant amount of force it would fall down and then topple over it
yeah well unless I made it fall in case we'll see do that or do I just lightning
strikes to shoot it okay go bolts decision go bolts do what you can do it do what
you're gonna do it do what I'll do so I I'll do so I I I'll do so I I I
I'm feeling handsy.
Bigby.
Bigby.
Bigby's hand!
All right, so I take Bigby's hand,
and I sort of try to wrench it off the last thing
off the last thing that's holding it up,
but in the direction of the brain.
Go ahead and make a roll, adding your plus five
for your casting ability.
Well, that's not good.
And inspiration.
Inspiration.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, yay!
Okay, so that means it, 13 plus what?
15 plus 5, which is your career.
Okay, then 18.
18.
As the spectral Bigby hand reaches over and grabs the top of the structure,
you can see the weird bit of bent metal that was once part of the partially,
mostly destroyed structure that held it aloft in the center of the temple,
wrenches forth and snaps as the entire structure begins to be pulled in an angle.
drop that mother
Yes
Is Vigby's hand
Slams down at an angle
Into the side of the brain
And then coming to rest on top
Crushing even further
The corpse of Clorota
Currently smeared across the round
Oh man
Go ahead and roll
6D6
4 damage on that
Crushing damages
This heavy thing kind of jams itself
Into the brain
Six cubes Sam
Six hues
Orion's my
Dice Bimbo
There you go boss
Did you go, boss.
16.
16.
So the structure slams into the elder brain,
and you can see a bit of
like purplish black liquid
sort of squirts out to one side.
But the first time you can see a part of the brain
is actually torn open, and the purplish glow
that you see throbbing in the middle of its folds
is now visible from the interior.
You can see now it's taking some real damage.
Immediately the two mindplayers that were floating up,
look down, freaked out, and begin moving towards the brain
now instinctively to defend it.
offended.
And bonus action, can I pour some superior healing potion down Pike's beautiful throat?
You can.
You can.
All right, so yeah, I have one of some.
I'm not going to go away with that.
No, no.
I'm just pouring my potion down Pike's throat.
Anyway.
Okay.
Nice.
Guys.
All right.
So, Max, what are you doing?
I don't know what superior is.
what superior is.
Oh, it's the superior.
Superior goes to, it's 8D4 plus 8.
Do I roll or does she?
You roll.
Oh, 8D4 plus 8.
Holy be jeez.
I won.
5, 9, 13, 15, 15, 18,
21, 21, 1 more.
22.
Plus 8, 30.
You heal 30 hit points.
What?
Awesome.
I got some good potion.
Very expensive potion.
It's great.
All right, so next.
I'm gonna.
You're on drink it still.
Do you want to hold your action?
Wait for the rest of the carpet.
Do you want to attack anyone?
What do you want to do?
I want to attack the elder brain.
Okay, go for it.
I'm gonna, I think all I can do is a conjure barrage.
Okay.
so it's the cone of a tactic.
So that will get hopefully all the things
because I'm going shooting down, right?
Thank you. How big gets the cone?
It's 60 feet.
60 foot cone from your angle here.
If you're just going, if you're going for the brain,
it'll catch this guy maybe.
There's a cone that goes down this way.
Okay.
So you want to do this way, hit these guys,
or this guy, this way you can edge on the brain?
Yeah, can I do the edge on the brain and get,
you can get probably these guys.
All right, let's do that.
All right.
Okay.
So they get saving throws, right?
How does that work?
Yes, they get saving throws.
So roll damage, and we'll see what they're saving throws are.
Do I, okay.
But do you have to roll to see if it hits or it just hits?
No, but that one, it's the barrage
and they get to roll a saving throw, okay.
Okay, cool.
All right.
Plus hunters mark?
On the elder brain?
Yeah, so the elder brain takes additional damage.
Three, additional.
Okay.
Do I get plus two for the bracers on that contra barrage?
It's kind of a two works.
Okay, so that would have been nine.
19.
19, all right.
Cool, and then this guy fails to save,
so total damage on him?
17. 19 on him?
Okay, so it's still alive, just looking really, really rough.
The brain's just now pierced with a bunch of arrows.
You just, something out of it, it's like barely holding itself
from the top of its feet.
And the troll also takes the damage as well.
Just seems to shrug it off, takes it,
and just kind of angrily, roars up from the bottom
of the temple at you, now seemingly helpless
the current circumstance.
So then I want to attack the elder brain again.
All right.
So you release it down.
20.
Very nice.
That hits.
Go ahead and roll it damage.
All right.
11.
11 points of damage.
All right.
Oh wait, wait, nope, lies.
No.
13.
Okay, there we go.
No luck.
Reson again.
Release this one aiming towards the now
torn open wound on the side of the elder brain
as the arrow sinks in.
There's another pulse of purple energy
and you hear all of you simultaneously in your heads
the scream, this screech, wha-ha-ha-h.
That echoes through your heads,
as it does, the two illithid here
that were kind of hovering towards it,
kind of grab their heads momentally
for a second out of frustration
and glare up at you angrily.
Ooh.
Yeah.
I'm not noticing this.
That brings this to Keyless.
I'm gonna take the rest of my burrow speed
to get up to the top.
All right.
I'm assuming I'm there.
You just managed to make it at the top of the temple, yeah.
Okay.
Drop Earth-Ealth
All right, Keyleth is in the field.
Would you say,
whatever comes out of this?
What do you got, Keyleth? What are you doing?
Let's haggle.
Theoretically.
Our brains are made of water, right?
Would you say that there is
water?
I would agree with that.
That is not theoretical.
In the like, jello brain mold, the like,
The like water molecules would be in it?
Make an arcana check.
Okay.
I don't know much in terms of our...
I don't know what I can try.
Ten.
You have no idea.
You've never encountered a older brain before you didn't know it alive.
Give it a try.
Most brains do.
Okay.
I'm gonna cast control water.
I'm gonna assume that there's water.
It's 300 feet.
I got the range.
And I'm gonna take the...
I'm gonna take the brain where it's already
kind of sliced down the middle,
where Vex has already made progress.
I'm gonna take and I'm just gonna rip it apart.
Okay, go ahead and roll a D20 and add your wisdom modifier to it.
Okay.
Ooh.
What, you say brains are made of water.
Ooh.
Um, am I like this?
Whoa!
23.
Okay.
Uh, there is an element of liquid to its truce.
of liquid to its structure. However, it is difficult to extract it from a form that you're
unfamiliar with, let alone when it's this table. You manage to find a way to pull moisture out
of parts of it and actually deal damage to it as you're beginning to triple sections of the brain.
Go ahead and roll 3D6.6.6.6.5 of dehydration.
I'll take it. Make some brain jerky. Yeah.
They'll have a really bad handover to my head.
Oh yeah.
Oh, you don't even know.
Oh, it's just 3D6 or plus anything?
Just 3D6.
So, 15.
15, all right.
15 points of dehydration damage to the elder brain.
You can see now the portion of the wound that's been open,
the corners that it kind of shriveled in and tuck it
and the actual purple glow from the inside dulls slightly.
It's pruning.
And you now have, currently in the air, a small kind of amorphousy
this globule of brain fluid that she's kind of floating there in the air.
Awesome.
Oh, close.
Oh.
Scanlan, smell it.
No, no, no, thank you.
The beer, syrup.
Drink it like, so.
I'm gonna, uh, you said there was illipid coming up on the sides too?
Yeah, they're like swarming up the side.
They were probably about halfway up.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
Um, I turn to the group.
I suggest we go to the beach immediately.
We can show up defenses and I can cast this film and get us out of here.
As I say that, I go and throw a fireball right at that.
Okay.
Are you using your movement to bring the carpet, to take control the carpet from Percy and move it up higher?
No, no, I'm up top. I have fly myself.
Oh, that's right. I'm hovering.
I'm sorry.
Yeah, all right.
I just let a fireball down in the brain.
Into the brain, all right.
That's, uh, all right.
So that's enough to get both of these guys.
Yes.
Guys.
Mm-hmm.
Tows to head and roll damage.
Ayah!
Yeah.
They both failed their save.
So full damage?
Crush the nuts.
Those are the points.
I like that.
That's good.
40.
Wow.
Yeah.
Yes!
Yes!
Those incinerates.
Peace out.
Taste me.
And 40 points of damage to the elder brain as this giant echoing explosion blast out from below.
All of you at the top, you were underlit momentarily from the flash of red and yellow flame.
As you look down,
There's now a sizzling sound in this like smell of horrible burnt flesh as part of the elder brain now that was originally dehydrated.
It's now also burnt and singed. You can see now it's looking a little rougher and it's very, it's very, very unhappy with his current circumstance.
I want to kill it before we leave now.
Right.
I want to kill him.
Pike, go ahead and make a saving throw.
Come, Pike.
Why are you saving throw?
She's still trying to get rid of the sky.
Oh.
You got healed.
So intellect saving the good, good, good, good.
16, you shrug off the effect.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Man, thanks, Keyleth.
Much better, done.
New dice.
You've been doing it all this whole time.
All right, so.
Can I do anything or I just, that's my turn.
Oh, that's your turn.
My movement, by the way, is I head to the beach.
Okay, you're ghosting?
Yes.
The fuck I go.
Chiberius is that way.
About 60 feet.
Wait, where do we go?
Nobody's taking us?
Though you gotta hop on the carpet when it comes up.
Yes.
Oh, okay, yeah.
We're all sick to be.
Here's a question.
Can everybody still fly?
That's.
As long as I'm thinking about,
well, I'm just sitting on those.
Still kneeling on the flying carpet with Percy,
so I'm just throwing the acres of the bacon.
Okay.
Where I am.
Okay.
There are a disadvantage of this distance.
Okay.
Okay, good.
So that means, oh man, 17 on the first.
17, phew-o-o.
Reflected by the, the arcane shield in the brain.
All right, so the second one then does as well,
and the last one definitely does.
All right, so yeah, Alty just...
As it gets more and more damage,
it's waking up more and more,
and it looks like it's actually gaining power, the line.
And then Percy yelled on my ears,
so I take some of the little carpet tassels.
Okay, so as your movement,
you manage to move the carpet all the way up,
it swoops up into the center of...
You have the nose.
This right here.
You guys are all looking precariously at this carpet
that is now floating up from the center of the temple.
As you get to the table,
you look over and you can see there's probably close to 20 mind flares that are swarming up the sides.
Um, come on, Percy.
That brings us to-
That brings us to-
That's Percy, you're up.
All right, I try, I pull out bad news.
Yeah!
I'm going to lie down on my stomach hanging off the edge of the carpet.
Hanging the brain.
And I'm taking a shot straight down.
Okay, I'll say it, I'll say it takes you your...
your movement movement to get it out.
Yes.
You're unable to move the carpet.
You pull the bad news out.
You get down.
You precariously off the side of it.
It is kind of sagging as your weight touches it.
You get the, ready, go ahead and fire.
Firing a dead shot.
Okay.
Oh, come on.
That's 18.
As you fire, the blast sends you up almost under your feet on the carpet again.
And you hear this impact sound, this of the blast hitting stone.
as the psychic field around deflects the bullet,
sending it into the ground, carving a craig.
Wait, did I have an inspiration dice from last?
Fuck, you did.
I did have an inspiration dice from last game.
Ah! Oh, I did!
What do you give people a 10?
D-10?
Oh, fuck, that's right.
Can you edit it now?
Yeah, I'll trust you on that.
I did, I did, because I'm always excited
when I get them, because I never get them.
That's true, okay, yeah.
All right, go ahead and roll for that.
21!
That'll do it.
As the brain continues to wake up, it improves its defenses, improves its capabilities.
Oh, okay.
But that will get, so good role damage on that.
Okay.
So it's hulking?
Essentially.
So as you release the blast, it hits the psychic field, the first impact you hear is it hitting the psychic field and pushing through into the actual brain matter.
Come on.
Let me double check that I'm doing this right. Hold on, it's dead shots weird.
Damage. Okay, so that's 12.
Three points.
25 points of damage.
25 points of damage.
You see the section of it that's kind of charred and burn.
Gets blown off and now there's a corner of the brain that is just an open and gaping wound.
The purplish glow in the inside is pulsing more and more angrily.
It's taken a beating, but it's...
Oh my God!
It's never going to forget us.
You guys have left that one of the mark on it.
You get this.
you get the sensation with the swarming and coming,
you may start to consider self-preservation over,
because the elder brain looks like it's taking some hits,
but it's not on death's door yet.
Oh, okay.
Oh, God.
Let's get out.
We need to go.
That's the end of my turn.
Yep.
Scanlan is up?
Yep.
We're out of here?
We need everybody to cap on the carpet.
Okay.
You're hopping up?
No, I'm going to turn into a huge pterodactyl and carry some folks.
Okay.
What?
You can do that?
Sure, why not?
He's got polymore.
Yeah, turn to do a batwing.
Cool, so we'll save for the time being,
we'll use this as Scanlan.
You're great.
Caca!
You're a giant taradactyl,
a creature that you've read in books in the past.
You haven't actually seen in person.
Who can I carry?
Who can I carry?
You can carry one person with your claws.
You haven't used this form before,
and this is you kind of figuring it out,
so pick one and you can take them with you.
I'll, uh,
I'm gonna take someone heavy.
Frog.
Rock can fly.
Rock can fly right now.
I can fly on drink it.
Everybody's covered, man.
There's only one person I can take.
He's a take.
It has the teradactyl, scaling.
Swoes down in both of its claws, grab around your arms and lift you off the top of the temple.
Flying after Tiberius.
How do you make that weird?
Is there a movie?
How do you do that?
All right, so they're not out of harm's way.
Very top here, that brings this to, shh, rog.
Oh, we're still carrying Kima under your arm.
We're getting out, right?
Yeah.
So you just awkwardly fly with Kima under your arm.
Fly away, off with the rest of the group.
Sweet bird of prey,
up, up and away.
Okay, at the top of the round,
we'll say these guys off the board here,
because you do have,
Two illesimate get up to the edge here.
They're going to attempt a mine blast.
We're gone, man. We're going.
So holding back.
So with you jump up to get out of range.
Oh, yeah.
I can't jump my feet.
Just get Trinket and Vex.
If you can go ahead and make an intelligent saving throw for both of you.
I'm fuck with my sister.
Okay.
Trin' and Vicks are still there?
Yeah.
I know. I didn't get to.
They never.
I know I didn't use the movement on the last turn.
I just didn't say it because I'm an asshole.
You are.
What kind of statement?
Intelligence.
10.
10.
Okay, roll for Trinket.
You rolled a 9 plus 2 is 11.
Oh, okay.
Let's go ahead and roll for chicken.
Oh, I rolled a 9 plus 2 plus 2.
For what?
For my ring that I'm wearing.
Okay.
So whatever that was.
Okay.
And roll for Trinket.
Which is gonna be a major fail,
because Trinket is like the dumbest.
Don't talk about Trinket like that.
Is he the dumbest?
Is he the dumbest?
No, that's a minus four.
So that would be a nine for Trinket.
It's a nine for Trinket.
Did you say, Benj.
Oh no.
At least by the way, my only way to get out of here.
Yeah.
Right now.
So communally, both you and Trinket freeze in place,
and Trinket,
who is flying, just kind of slumps onto the top of the temple,
kind of limply laying across the edge,
about to tip over off the temple.
Don't we should have left drinking fine.
You would have been on the .
Can you grab them and put them on the carpet?
What's your turn?
Keyleth, you're up.
Okay.
It's not easy.
Um.
Not a salmon in there.
Well, first and foremost, I'm gonna get on the carpet.
Okay.
So you leap up.
up here with these guys.
I'm gonna understand.
Secondly, I am going to,
okay, wait, so wait, Shrinket's stunned.
Trinket is currently catatonic,
like barely like holding herself right there.
Like she's, you can see like she's struggling
with the flight spell, like she's kind of
love for a second and he did in the ground.
Him, sorry, just gonna be you.
He's about to die, at least I can talk with him.
No, he's, you can shove.
I apologize, Trinket.
Wait, shub him?
Shub him?
Look, I can't shove like our 200, very-
He's fine.
He's floating.
Can I do this?
Okay, I'm on, okay, here's I'm on.
Okay, here's I'm on the carpet.
I'm gonna cast grasping vine from the carpet
and wrap around trinkets
and have like a trinket toe vine.
Okay.
Like a macy's day print.
Oh, Keeleis!
So as you leave onto the carpet,
you reach down and the, the fibrous nature
of the carpet was really made from,
you managed to pull the essence of that out
to create a vine of similarly patterned color
of the actual magic carpet material.
Like the various silks form in this tendril
that wraps around both during trinket
and pulls you guys hanging behind the carpet.
So you guys are sexually now towed to the carpet.
Let's go!
Can she take control of the carpet, too?
Can I now use the rest of my movement to be like...
You currently do not have control of the carpet
because you used your action and everything
to use that spell and your concentration.
Okay, I'm just holding them there.
Okay, that's good.
That brings us to Tiberius, Europe flying off.
Pike's on...
Vax, you're up.
I'm steering us the fuck out of here, man.
D-ta-da-da!
You tow, trink it, and Vex out behind you guys.
As you guys pull off at the full speed,
the rest of the elephants swarm to the top.
You can see about 15 or so get to the front top area.
Look down at the elder brain.
Look up at the rest of you with this angry look.
As you're pulling away, your eyes adjust to the darkness
of the cavern, and you look down and you swear you can see
hundreds and hundreds of sets of purple glowing eyes just staring up from the city
as you all slowly fly away to the far end of the cavern.
As you're moving, so we're moving.
the eyes. We've made some enemies.
So are the eyes.
Yeah, there's coming after us.
I want to make a note, because I'm way ahead of everybody at this point.
Yes.
As soon as I land on the beach, I can't circle of teleportation.
Okay. So you bear that there's nobody there.
But I do that immediately.
All right, so a few minutes go by, you guys are moving past and over the water channel
that's between the north side of the island and the beach where you guys previously set.
You, you...
As Siberia, you land,
on the dirt.
Sorry, Lord's face it.
You land, immediately begin casting
circle teleportation, you begin scrolling the circle
on the ground, riding your finger across the gravel surface
to build the runes. As your fingers dragged across, you can see the
arcane light beginning to glow and form the sigils and the
ruins as you're drawing them feverishly. The rest of the group eventually catches up
to you about 30 seconds into it.
Okay. As you all eventually get back, you and Tring and managed to shrug
off the effect. You find yourself halfway through
like being pulled and towed by this vine,
awkwardly.
It's happening right now.
Stupid wrench.
A few seconds pass.
You finish the incantation.
You place your hand down in the center of the sigil.
This wave of arcane energy blast off and suddenly above this circle, this tearing sound pulls
out of the middle of the ether and this kind of purple shimmering doorway opens up above the circle sigil that he had crafted in the side of the beach.
By the blessings of Bahamut, I choose in none.
At which point the doorway that he just created takes some sort of a solid form and what you can see in the other side
There's appears to be some sort of low-lit room
I've run right to all right
So yours runs through everyone else
Yeah, yeah, go there we go guys have all landed on the beach as he finished castments yeah
You all rush through the portal after the
Fooffffff
Towards the very end is grog you bring up the rear holding chema you go rushing towards it as it begins to slowly close as it only lasts around
You barrel through just then time as it's super
closest behind you with the sparking sound.
We are time bandits.
What are they got out of there?
Oh, fuck.
I just kicked my pants.
Squish, squish.
All right.
I hate that phrase.
Stop.
Well, that was something. That wasn't he.
That was fantastic.
You all emerge within a small 20 foot by 20 foot
white stone chamber.
You all are kind of crammed in this space currently,
but you're all apparently safe and sound.
As the doorway closes behind you,
you turn and look and on the ground,
there's a similar circle across the stone flooring,
different patterns, different, you know,
arrangement to the one that he had drawn,
but with some similarities that are kind of a reminiscent glow,
almost like a code to this circle fade away
based on what he had drawn previously.
They won't be able to like open that back.
We are safe.
Okay.
Just a quick request.
She is made of stone holding crazy keener.
Yes, I'll go over.
And cast a greater restoration on just one second.
Just one second.
Oh, dog.
We still have a horn to deal with.
The horn is on the carpet.
It's been specifically not touched.
Yeah.
So sitting there.
The carpet is kind of bunched to the side now
as you guys kind of flew into the portal
and kind of left it there.
And the horn is just kind of resting there.
I think we should get it out of from the view.
I think we should put it to the back of home.
Do you think you?
Sure.
I mean, if you're crushing, couldn't kill it,
the thousand pounds.
We can store it.
It's a vacuum.
Where are we?
Where are we?
Where are we?
Where are we?
It's a small yellow room, sorry, a small white stone room and there is a kind of yellowish brown stone doorway that is closed.
You don't tell her, do we have it?
There's like some very faint white bulbs that are locked into the walls to get magical.
Are we not in our castle?
Are we not in the gray skull?
You're not in the gray skull keep, no.
Oh, we're not in gray skull.
No, you guys don't have a teleportation circle installed in your keep yet.
Oh, we got it.
You don't know where you are.
We got to go home.
We're in a room right now?
We're in a room.
You're in a 20 foot by 20 foot room.
with two small white orbs in the sides that are kind of set into the walls to give off a faint white arcane below,
when there's a single doorway that exits the room that is currently closed.
The way circle interpretation works is when I learned it, I get to pick two locations that I know just innately.
I picked him on as one of them.
Okay.
So I don't know where...
So we're somewhere in Imon.
Okay.
So we could be in someone's living room right now?
It's a very surprising.
The horn in the back.
Yes, so we don't.
I'll use telekinesis to lift the horn off the carpet.
Okay.
Okay, you still have the...
Yeah, I can burn one from...
I can burn one from my ironstone.
Should you wrap it at all?
Be fine in the bag of holding.
Take out the dragon stuff, just like...
Actually, should we wrap it?
So, not knowing what else will do,
the box is gonna go over to the door and just in the
fresh stuff, just in case it does...
Okay, sure, see if it's trash.
Yeah, it's kind of a...
Overall perception check?
Eh.
Just all the value of stuff.
Just in case.
24.
Just in case.
24.
I never heard of a bag.
The door does appear to be locked.
It is not trapped.
Not trapped.
I'll get to work on it then.
32.
Okay, 32.
Relatively easy.
The door comes unlocked.
It's a very, very intricately carved brass handle
that has almost like swirls upon it.
It's almost like a burst of wind being blown and frozen in gold.
You turn it?
The door opens slightly.
Oh, my God.
I'm still wearing my tin.
Tin hat and I pull up my hood from my oven cloak and I go stealth.
I am stealth because that's a 32 and have a look around outside.
Okay.
As you open the doorway, it leads into a secondary chamber.
This is an 80-foot diameter circular chamber now.
So you're entering an edge of a giant circle.
There are a series of other doors almost in respective rows next to each other.
And you also see in the center of the room a virus
chandelier made of white crystal like the spheres you saw in the previous room you were in, giving off a warm kind of atmospheric glow to the entire room.
In the center of the room, there is a semicircle desk that is also made of a similar white stone material that the rest of them is made out of,
with polished gold leaf trimming on the edge.
And you do see what looks to be an elven man sitting at the desk, longish kind of gray-white hair.
He's wearing robes that are finally dressed, and he's like kind of half falling asleep at a desk with a series of books,
kind of piled up on the side, and as soon as the doorway opens,
he kind of looks up and you hear a slight little arcane tinging sound.
Like a little bell being rung as you open the door.
He looks up for a second.
Say hello.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
I just walk forward and pull down the clerk and say hello.
Stay right where you are.
Do not move?
Hands up in the air.
Not move.
Nothing in them.
No threat, no danger here.
A little lost, apparently.
Apparently.
Who else goes there?
Who else goes there?
Please step outside.
There are now.
Hi.
Hi.
Hi.
As soon as he sees you, he goes,
I cast the spell of magic on Scanlan.
Do you have it anymore?
Yeah, I do.
It just did it to me earlier in this round.
No, counter spell, and I silenced you.
This is to spell magic, which is your spell.
Oh, yeah.
Hello.
So, and I just have a slide.
Okay, so as you cast the magic,
it turns for me, that it stops in the middle of casting a spell
reflexively.
And the bear.
Interesting.
He's friendly.
He's real.
I have a very long, very strange story.
Every word of which is true, and if you will give me five minutes, I swear I can convince you.
He opens a book as first going through the pages.
Intent.
We have no expected arrivals at this hour.
I need to know your business, your names, and your affiliations immediately.
We will totally do that.
We are affiliated with the king.
Emperor, just tell the Emperor that Vox Machina has returned from Craghammer, and we have news for him.
No?
We're one very secret business for the Crown, actually.
And that is why you weren't informed of our business.
Yeah, I'm Tiberius Stormwind. How are you?
Make a persuasion check.
Did you wink?
I'm responsible for casting this spell together us here to be here.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
That would be at 20, no.
35.
Yeah, yeah, oh, there.
Okay.
He looks to you, as you guys are standing there,
he kind of...
That's not possible.
25.
25.
He stands up from the desk,
kind of gives you all look over.
Well, I'm gatekeeper, Xanthus.
I am the evening keeper of the Traverse Junction here.
The Traverse Junction is the...
is the Traverse Junction.
Gatekeeper.
Here within the Vyceum.
The hour is late,
not past two hours past midnight.
Yes.
Well, I have...
We couldn't very well come during the day.
...the third.
And...
Hello.
And we would love to report
to the Emperor of your great hospitality
at this unfortunately early hour,
and we would look forward to reporting
of all of your kindness
and good housekeeping.
I imagine he would be very upset.
if we were delayed, we come with very grave news.
I would hope not to imagine.
Well, I'm certain the headmaster would like to know your business in the morning.
Yes.
Headmaster Thurmond Adelam.
He runs this Alabaster Lyceum within the Irodyte quarter.
If you would please submit a report for your reasons for using the Lyceum Junction property,
tomorrow I'm sure that would suffice for the requirement.
Of course we will.
Of course we will.
In the meantime, we'll just go to our keep that we have in town.
A great skull keep.
He gives you a, you may have heard of it.
A disbelieving look, and it kind of goes,
very well.
Good day, I cast friends on him, and I tell him.
You know of our keep, don't you?
Okay.
He goes, I seem to recall hearing about a Voxmachina
at some point, disgust, but I don't get out very often.
Running the graveyard shift here at the Lyceum
has taken its toll on my social life.
Poor thing, you should get out more.
Well, let me show you out, and he walks you through the rest of the hallway.
It's a beautiful, beautiful kind of domed center chamber into a long series of white stone hallways,
similar material that the first room you arrived in look like.
Eventually to a main foyer area, which has a very, very high ceiling and a series of beautifully carved pillars that show different creatures,
almost like divas and demons battling each other as they spiral up these pillars.
To the front doorways, there are two guards that are adorned in kind of silver and gold armor with these very high,
Elvin in design-shaped helmets, and they kind of stepped at the side as the doors open on the row.
Not the hat.
The guards do not respond to you whatsoever. They just step to the side.
The gate business, all right, well, here's your way out.
Have a wonderful evening, and do please return to your report on the morrow.
Of course.
One more question before we leave.
What district are we in right now?
The Irudite court.
Thank you.
The Zoom time.
The Zoom time.
Good night, the doors
slam behind you as you guys exit.
Holy shit, we survived.
What?
What was that?
Oh my god, we're...
Keelith just goes down on her knees
and starts kissing the ground.
Well, that could have gone worse.
Yeah.
Oh, we're ho.
I did go worse for a while.
I just really get in my bed so bad.
Look, look, look, look.
Oh, we can see the sky.
You look up and for the first time in close to a week,
you can see stars.
You can see, um,
A crescent moon, probably, and just past its single quarter phase.
It is a site for SORRA.
Would you say it's a beautiful sight?
Currently, the most beautiful night sky you've seen in all of your years.
I ruin it with a fart.
I'm glad you helped that the whole time.
I'm down there.
My horrible stomach pains this whole time.
I'm sorry.
Are we just carrying around this stone chemo with us?
Are we taking it back to our?
Yes, but don't stand right in front of her when you undo the stone.
Actually, hold on it.
Let's all rest before we do with this one.
Wait, no, no, no, because I want to use, so I want to be able to have an extra level spell.
But we're in town now, so we're in a town.
We're in a safe.
Yeah, let's go to the keep.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's a long, tries a long way.
We've got to go across the whole town.
We got to fly in time.
We do have a flying car.
We do have a flying coffee.
The metro's running at this hour.
We can probably few.
like down a wagon too. Yeah. We're in town. Yeah. Okay, everything's possible.
Let's go drink it. I was going to say what bars are?
Me, me. We've got a lot of bling and a cursed horn. The sky's the limit.
I know, should we go, I kind of, should we go to a tavern and get some mail?
What, you? What? Hi, who are you?
Really? You made it?
Uh-huh. What's he made to be?
It's all empty. Can we fill it up, please?
It shook its mail.
Wait, maybe we should drop off the bag of holding.
And the stone gnome?
Then we'll go out.
Drinking.
We don't want to lose it in a game of cards.
Yes, exactly.
Exactly.
And stone.
We'll be fine.
We've never lost it before.
How far?
There's eight of us.
We'll be fine.
How far is the keep from here?
I'd say it's probably a good hour walk.
Oh, we've got it.
We can do a pub crawl.
We'll just have a beard.
We'll just have a beard.
It's a back.
Do it.
Let's do it.
Let's see it.
Pub crawl.
Pub crawl.
We're going to pub crawl back to peace.
You're a geek and sundry.
Should I, but should I, should I, should I go just in a bush, just bind and...
And do what?
Does it appear or something?
No.
No.
No.
No.
We want to enjoy this.
She doesn't have a sense of time.
She won't know.
Or she'll just appear.
Let's put her in the bag.
She's made a stone.
We won't tell her how much time is...
Oh, I don't know about that.
Well, I'll have stone her once were done.
Don't breathe, right?
Be fine.
We don't know.
She's been so...
Do not put her in the very...
Don't know.
Do not.
For the record, I think she'd be fine too.
But we could bring her around and introduce her.
It could be like Weakin at Bernie.
Okay, great.
Yes.
I put a fancy robe around Kimo's stone statue.
This is so messed up.
All right, so as you guys begin making your
celebratory pup crawl, starting with the Laughing Lamia Tavern.
You, five drinks, laugh, chatter,
and kind of take in the lively atmosphere
that you would find at 3 a.m., which is a little,
at this point, most of the fun folk are pretty drunk.
But at this point, you don't care.
You'll take it on your own.
Eventually, you all managed to make your way
towards the outer wall of Iman to the southern portion of the city.
The guards let you through.
Two of them recognize you from the Bruce Crest celebration
that occurred about seven months beforehand.
Don't do that, that's gonna end poorly.
You make your way around the bend
to the large grass hill that is surrounded by the river
that kind of skirts the outer southern portion
of Grey-Sull Keep.
Looking up, you can see against the moonlight
the very welcome sight of your home there
beckoning to you to rest.
You make your way to the front gates that surround
the outskirts of it and you hit,
an iron bell kind of goes off for a second.
And as you look up, you hear a voice go.
Who goes there?
Speak your mind, the revolt for the throat you'll find.
You're gonna shake?
Is it dark right now?
It's dark, yes.
I cast light.
It's us.
Okay, a light pierced up and you guys look up
and you can see sitting on kind of the watchtower perch.
Wait, is that Jared?
Is that Jared?
No, you see up there, the short, right?
rough red hair, Shea Tranter, one of the first man,
was she's got her crossbowl ready to go,
and she's kind of sitting back at the point of the group,
and she could like,
I hope you remember us.
Shee.
We're drunk.
We pay you.
She laughs.
Takes her crossbow and puts us to her aside,
and goes, well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes?
It's been nearly a week since you left.
That's it.
Feels like a month.
It feels like three months.
Three months.
It feels like 11 weeks.
It feels like a very long time.
Thanks.
Probably closer to two weeks.
Fair enough.
Either way.
Open the gates.
Ordel, open the gates.
Ordell?
I don't remember the names of any of our names.
Ordel, he's one of the other half-work guards
that you hire before you left.
We have Chey Cordell, Jared, Kindrick, and Netiba.
Jared was the really, the one
be appointed as a head guard, right?
Oh, please, not that music.
That music gives me nightmares from my childhood.
Could we get something a little bit lighter,
some lighter music here?

I don't remember about the line
Our staff is so unappreciated
Our staff is so unappreciated for us
So as the gatesley opens, Cordell walking out,
the hardy half-orke, Merck dressed in scale armor,
and he has large swordsling on his back kind of just
shoves it open to about a two-foot distance.
Come on, welcome home.
As each of you guys walk through,
he kind of claps you on the back as you walk in.
You make your way into the small courtyard leading to,
make your way into
with a gray skull keep.
Towards the front door, as you get there,
the front door opens on its own as you're about 10 feet away,
and peering from the inside of the loa interior,
you see a woman's face, a plump blonde woman's face
kind of peek through.
This is Lena.
Lena goes,
Oh, you're back, fantastic.
It's early.
She kind of rubs her face, and you see if she pushes the door open
a little more, she's wearing her nightgown,
and she's excited, but still very tired.
Come in, come in, come in, please, please.
Who's that?
and points to the large stone statue
you're kind of dragging behind you.
Oh, we decided to get a statue
for the garden.
Garden no.
Very well, very well.
Hey, I take offense at that.
I would hope so.
He's drunk.
I'm drunk.
So the woman, the human woman,
eats you all back in.
Put the guy down first.
Bird do with it.
It's not synchotum.
Hi.
She steps back with her knitted boots.
She's definitely in comfortable mode.
She kind of eagerly hugs each of you enter,
happy that you've all arrived.
She's like, I swear I've not had an employer leave
so quickly after my hiring.
But I had to see you're all safe.
Shall I make everyone a meal?
Are you hungry?
Starved.
Yes.
I'll get right to it, and she turns around,
and you see further down the hallway Erwin Dasdell,
your older halfling servant.
It kind of shuffles up with his nightcap on.
It's long and dangling off his shoulders.
He's got his long night bow on.
He's kind of carrying a small candle.
My goodness.
The hour is late of your arrival,
but I can't say I'm not excited to see you.
Come in.
Your beds are ready.
Everything's been clean and made to your specifications.
Elena, to food.
I'm already on it,
Oh, when she can have smacks some of the batmeet.
Oh, very well, then.
their banter.
No, that's good
I will
go back to bed if that's
fine. Is there any urgent and suppressing news
any visitors that we should know about who
came while we were gone? Anything before
you retire for the evening?
No, I believe
your friend, the
magewoman with the blue robes, came by
a lot. Allura?
Allura. She came by a couple days
ago just to see if you would return.
But, no, told her you what,
and she said she'd try again later.
Any packages, mail, post?
None that I know of no.
In fact, I'm very quiet.
All right.
All right.
Thank you.
Back to my quarters, and he kind of shuffles off,
goes towards his bed.
You guys make your way into the main dining chamber of your keep.
The four large round tables, kind of set out with the chairs around it.
You can see, for the most part, it's kind of been untouched,
other than a couple of chairs that are kind of set a jar pie
where your mercenary soldiers have been eating,
or just have them keeping up.
There's a couple of empty tables set on the side.
That immediately, Elena goes, I'm so sorry.
I should have taken care of this,
and she stumbles off towards the kitchen,
and you guys all eventually find yourself sitting
sore, exhausted, mildly intoxicated around these chairs,
and take a very deep breathing sigh of relief
at being back home here in Imman and Grace got keep.
Should we unstone chema, or should we sleep on it?
I stand up and I head towards the sleeping quarters and I just say leave it was to stone tonight
to be doing with tomorrow and I go to bed turn it into a rat I do have fun just
film out go ahead go ahead and make a think a wisdom saving third time areas
um hold on a second I can still cast as an animal right no no you cannot talk
oh I still get to bed yes so yeah amazing very awesome so yeah
horrible.
It's awesome.
You kind of notice a living.
It's quite comfy.
In between my pillow and he's
pretty, what is he enjoyed?
He's a little bad.
Arcane squabbles.
I pick up the sleeping rat.
I just kind of skut him.
Oh, he's in bed.
It's all right, he's fine.
Look, you see his legs going.
He's dreaming about something nice.
We ate already, right?
He looked so tiny.
You snacked the bed as you made you through the town,
but for the most part, like a meal's being for
You begin to smell now the cooking of meat.
Elaine is setting it up for you guys.
You're dreaming of magical artifacts.
Quick question.
Friends, so we kind of started a war, am I right?
Yeah, pretty sure we think.
Brackhammer is potentially in grave danger, am I right?
We might want to let them know that we'd sort of...
Because...
Probably let them know as soon as possible.
First of all, Clorota was lying through his noodles.
And second, even if he wasn't, which he was,
he's now fucking pissed off and so...
and so is every other...
Well, they're all one hive mind, right?
Listen, this is number five tonight.
They weren't connected until the very end.
He was dead before they were actually connected.
They were following us.
They may not know who we are.
But they...
You don't think they're going to scurry up
the bottom of Craghammer and tear that place apart?
We'll let them know, but we may have time.
We've hurt them very badly.
It took us about a week to go from Craghammer in,
so we've got about a week.
Well, why don't we do some research?
I mean, this was the first time.
We'd have to stop them on the way out, out the hole, right?
There's only one way in and out.
Well, don't they already know?
And they were already prepping for them?
They don't really understand what's coming for them.
They don't know anything about mind players.
They know about weird things coming out, but not about minders.
Let's send a pigeon or something.
Mind players have been down there for ages.
There's nothing new.
Oh, I'm saying they'll come out of a time.
You should let them know.
Absolutely.
To be fair, we also did sort of release the mindflare.
released the mind flares from their evil dictator.
Right.
Yeah, they seem very grateful.
We could stop them on their way out.
I think this will also be a conversation
that Lady Kima will have some.
Well, okay, well, the thing we then need to immediately decide,
before we un-stone Lady Kema is, what are we gonna do with the horn?
I think if we have Allura here and begin that conversation,
then we can have Alura's insight.
Before we unstone Lady Kima?
Yes.
I think we tell Alora before we.
on Stone Lady, he knew everything that's happened.
The only person here would remotely
know was you Tiberius and I don't
think of... He's a rat. Oh, that's a good boy.
He didn't seem
to know anything. I think Alora is
the person to go to
by now. You need to share it with us.
You should wake up from Ben.
Let's wait to Alura's
here, I think. Yes. Do we
tell her? Do we tell her we have the
horn or do we know? Yes.
No. Why don't we just wake up Tiberius?
Tiberius.
Sweet, little darling.
I'm still punishing him.
Still cuddling him.
Did they wake me up?
No.
Nope.
Nope.
I'm holding you.
Okay.
I don't want to wake you up.
You start to wake up and then he screeches
out of your cheek and you go right back to this thing.
Oh no.
Damn it, he's so cute.
I don't know what to do.
Lina comes out with plates for you guys
and sets up these things.
Thank God.
They're not pretty, but functional meals
of cooked pork, some fine mashed potatoes.
Cupcakes.
I would like to eat.
You do.
I shape my mashed potatoes in four.
You do ravenously.
It is delicious.
The first four meal you really truly had in about five, six days.
I take Lady Kima's portions.
There were no portions made for your garden structure.
Yeah.
Never know.
That's good.
So talk to Allura first.
Yes.
Then unfreeze.
She sits after Kima.
Kima thinks that she's in the middle of a
fight. The moment she comes out, hang on, hang on.
If that's true, she did Seema
after Kima, so what if they're
both on the side that we don't?
Yeah, Laura's gonna unfreeze Kima.
We're going to have to trust somebody.
Yes. Well, I don't know. I just trust
it in Clorota. Why don't we just hold onto
the horn for a second and see
what, see what they do without it?
We were using the make you off.
Why don't we just hide them off?
We just hold onto it in the bag.
Don't we have a safe? Didn't we build a
safe in our keep?
like a shit.
You did not have a safe belt, but you could possibly have that done.
Just having a nuclear weapon in our basement.
Wait, so why are you guys so against giving the horn to Kima?
I just feel like if it's so terrible, why does she want it for herself?
She doesn't, she wants to hide it.
Does she want to destroy it?
Maybe she wants to destroy it.
Maybe she wanted to get it up above ground so she could destroy it.
There's a second horn.
Maybe she has the other one and wants the matching set.
Do we know that there's a paladin?
She can't, right?
She's a paladin. She's good.
I'm fine trusting her. I was fine trusting Corota. Do you want to wake up? Do you have something important to say?
Right, because no one of the church has ever been bad before. We didn't trust Clorota. We were using him as much as he was using us.
Some of us truly trusted. It went south. Well, most of us. All right, fuck it. I walk over and I take the rat out of Vax's hands and I shake it away. He's still a rat.
I'll shake it a lot. I'll undo his polymorph. I'll undo his polymorph.
With what?
With what?
With my, by polymorph?
Good intentions.
Can I release polymorph?
Can I release polymorph?
No, it's his spell.
No.
You re-polymorphed him into Tiberius?
I spit on Tiberias' head and I rub it in vigorously.
Scanlan, come on, we need to talk to him.
There are bits of- I'm trying to bite.
Grub.
It's like, it's like, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's,
Viscis grog-spit mixed with chunks of pork and mashed potato rubbing in your bird.
Scanlan, he's nipping.
Scanlan, he's nipping.
Scanlan.
Tiberius is nipping.
All right, fine.
He's a human thing again.
I was human at all.
I'm a dragon boy.
Why did to wake me up?
I was so comfy being sorry.
I always have scales.
It was nice having clothes.
I was trying to tell them you were fine.
It's nice being cuddly.
It's nice being...
Tiberius, sorry to wake you.
Tiberius, we're having a lovely breakfast.
Tell us a story.
I shove my...
Have I rested?
What's going on?
No, it's been like 10 minutes.
What the fuck?
What?
question for you. Oh, okay. We're all still drunk and awake.
Just, don't worry. The second word down, I'll turn you back and tour us.
We don't want to go to bed yet. I just want to hear.
What is wrong with?
Lovely little explanation, darling, about what the horn is and why you don't trust
key much. Just if, yes.
Tell us, tell us to start.
The horn is.
You haven't told any of us anything.
We haven't talked to you in like a week, man.
Is the horn of, orcus?
Horn of Ornus.
Here.
This thing comes from a devil, a demon.
Nothing good could ever come from anything in existence.
It needs to be destroyed.
And I'm sorry.
Okay.
Let me articulate this word a little bit more.
There is nothing that you can use this particular artifact for any reason of good.
The fact that it is even here is a very bad sign because it was taken from one of these beasts.
So why don't we destroy it?
That's exactly what we need to do
Isn't that what came in?
What if they want to destroy?
I don't think they wanted to bring it back.
Question, why?
Because there was
the liquid hot magma
that was below when it was being held.
Plenty was very sufficient
for it to be thrown in magma.
Question, that's true.
Wait, question though.
Stand with him.
Why would she quest?
Wait, wait, wait, but your crushing fist couldn't destroy it
so maybe lava can't destroy it,
so maybe it needs something extra special
that only they know of you.
Yes.
The sword of Griffithor.
No, Pike could destroy it.
Something.
Excuse me?
I don't think that's true.
Are you so?
I mean, I'm...
Give yourself a little bit more turn it, darling.
You can do whatever.
You set my mind to.
I did kill a dragon.
Hustle.
And you've died.
And come back to life.
By the way, we haven't talked about that.
What was it like on the other side?
Let's stay on top of here.
I'm sorry.
Have another drink.
Have another drink.
Have another drink.
Sorry, I can't rambly.
He's just to.
I don't think I can't.
From what I understand, is it possible that this is not,
it's not possible to destroy this,
that instead it has to be banished somewhere, perhaps?
It needs snow.
If it could be a permanent banishment, yes.
But we don't know what kind of plane
and what creatures lie there that would perhaps come upon that.
Question.
Well, it works as the elements, right.
Fire burns Earth.
wind blows.
Light destroys darkness.
Pike, you're the only one.
Rock beats scissors.
Exactly, Scatlin.
You're the only one that could,
if your weapon had any kind of light entrapment on them,
could probably smash this thing to bits.
Question.
Then we would have to scatter the remnants
or the pieces far from each other
if not find different ways to destroy those pieces.
Why don't you trust them?
Because it comes from something that...
Not the horn. Why don't you just came up?
because they wanted to bring it somewhere where they,
which is, I don't know,
which is why I wanted to do a half thing
where we could question Kimmer
without her attacking us
or trying to attempt to take the horn from us.
Well, here's my thing,
even if she has good intentions,
say she has good intentions
and maybe they just wanted to bring the horn back
to study it.
No.
No one should be messing with this whatsoever.
I think they want to destroy it.
I'm of the opinion
they probably want to banish it somewhere.
Yeah, I think, and they'll be very good
and very strong.
So maybe why don't we just agree to not stand it?
Well, no, this is good.
This means that there's no reason necessarily not to trust them.
We just know that we don't trust the horn, and that's a perfectly reasonable thing.
In the short term, Scanlon, are you able to set it to another dimension for a while?
No, don't trust it anywhere out of our side.
It is not alive.
I cannot.
Put it in the bag.
It's perfectly safe.
How about we rest?
We put the horn in the bag.
We wake up chema.
We go, oh, we brought you back.
Sorry, we don't have the horn.
If we did, what would you do?
with it and then we decide what we do.
I like half that plan.
I like that plan too.
I think we should tell it we didn't get it and see what she does.
To bed.
And Aurora is somebody that should not be here
when this conversation happens.
Because if they turn south, she is a
more powerful source than I.
Oh.
We need to decide.
Do we tell her that we destroyed it?
Or do we tell her that we just didn't get in and
stuck down there?
I can't say destroyed because we don't know how we did that, right?
No, we didn't destroy it.
If she was like, how did you destroy it?
We say, oh no, they, we got overrun and we had to leave.
But then they're going to tell us to go back for it.
That's fine.
But we ask like what she would have done if we had it.
And when she leaves, we go, we have it.
Or we go, oh, well, good.
Then actually we do have it.
You can do that.
Yeah, if she wants to study it or use it or transform it into something, we don't give it to her.
We try to destroy it ourselves.
So she wants to banish it and do something that Tiberius is happy with.
And we go like, hey, we have it.
when we meet her I don't think
we should have it. I think one of us
one or two of us should take it away.
We don't all have to be at that meeting.
I think we just keep it in the bag of holding
she'll never suspect. Well hang on, is it in the
it's in the bag of holding right now?
Yes.
Is there nothing else in that bag of holding?
You know, I took out all the stuff that could turn
into some evil transformer or something.
You know that on the morning. The other characters
can make inside checks too. You know that, right?
A pile somewhere. Everything has out with
parentheses next to her.
She might be able to tell what I.
we have it, then she could say you're lying.
No one can tell when I'm lying.
All right in line.
Legitimately, no one can tell when I'm lying.
I mean, I can stone shape it, and I could like stone shape it and bury it somewhere in our key.
One person should leave with it.
I'll leave with it.
That's genius.
I'll leave.
I'm going to talk to the source.
I'm not going to talk to the sources.
You and I'll take a walk with it and play tidley wings or something in the woods.
That's fine. Let's warm with that. It's easy.
Do you want it very far?
You're a talk about. You're a talk about just taking a stroll through the forest with the horn of Orkis?
No, no, I'll just hang out outside.
And the key. How about just stay in the key?
Somewhere else.
You could hang out in the temple downstairs?
Yeah, sure.
I fall asleep.
I fall asleep.
Save down there.
Shall we sleep?
Let's sleep and meet with Kima in the morning.
This was a fabulous breakfast.
Vax gives his sleeping sister a wet willie.
And I put my head right in my food in Forest League.
Okay.
Let's not forget you still got a funny toe.
I checked my bed to make so no one's shat in it.
I did leave the little rat too.
It's before I got scooped out.
Trinit, let's go to bed.
I turn it, I go minksy and I curl up by the fire.
Yeah, minksy.
Okay.
You're phone by the fire set up on the dome.
Turn tubirus back in alright.
Oh yes, I'm going to bed.
Back in all right.
You can curl up with me.
Now would you like to be a rat?
I'm a kitty cat.
I like being furry.
Well then, no, because I'm still punishing.
That's fine. Have your phone tonight, people.
You will have your licking in the morning.
I go to sleep.
Do you do.
You guys all go to rest for the evening.
The best rest you've had in a long time,
your beds are comfortable, well said.
It's a warm interior.
I'm starfished on my bed.
Scamondon, did you appreciate your bed?
This is the first time in a while
is that Pike you've been able to sleep
without your armor on, and it's so nice.
Oh, that's great.
You sleep, you sleep hard,
you sleep for an extended period of time.
Eventually, you all begin to rouse.
As you all wake up, the smell of fresh breakfast food
is already kind of coming through the cake.
That, like, stank from her armor.
Yeah, you have to watch that armor girl.
It's like when you take a cast off.
Oh, it's bad.
Actually, is there a bathhouse?
You haven't inquired.
You could ask around if you want.
We should have a rest.
I would stay here.
Let's go into a dirt bath.
Bathhouse.
Oh, we weren't a rabbit.
Huh?
Can you transform?
I'm telling you about a lizard worm.
Oh, yeah.
Gross.
My thoughts.
Awesome, though.
Okay.
Scales.
You can get it off the clay.
There you go.
Out in the front of the keeping.
Gross.
I have a little dirt
pile of my mouth.
Okay.
That's weird.
We just don't fear for our lives.
Okay, let's go down and have our meeting.
So you guys head down into the dining room again.
Kima is still standing there with the mall left where she was.
Grog is still face down like in the table.
Can I grab the plate and help against his face with back potatoes across his cheek?
Across the way on the far table, you see Cordell and, uh,
sorry, Cordell and Shane are both finishing their breakfast.
Kind of like sitting there at the table with their arms kind of gathering at prison
Ali, both see you enter.
Oh, shame.
Morning.
Morning.
And they both kind of finished the meal.
Get up and set up.
Enjoy your breakfast.
You've earned it.
I think our shift is done.
Thank you.
You're gonna pass cordial.
Both get up and the exit out.
Have a good night.
Night day.
I know, I know.
I started awake with food on my face
and I wipe it off and eat it.
I had a horrible dream about two walking testicles
that were hurting my mind.
my mind.
That was no reason.
That was no
I was just about to go to the heart
to get some ash and draw a penis in the house.
I had feeling something was coming here.
Next to get on my mouth, I promise.
Where's the bag of holding?
I've got it.
Can you check in your bag to see if the horn is still there?
And it's okay?
I look in the bag of holding and I see a whore.
You look in the bag and you see nothing.
You imagine something you're reaching and you pull up.
something you're reaching you pull it out oh no do that I can I can you tell that
it's in there okay teleport something out of a bag telekinesis like a picture it and
yeah I hold it up in front of Tiberius make sure it's still there and so you use
telkinesis you lift the horn out I don't I don't do it I'm assuming it's there I'm not
doing it right no check though I want to make sure it's that don't you have pretty sure
it's there I want to make sure all right I will check with Big Bees mage hand or
whatever I'm got something else can you make sure that made mage hand yeah I'll
May Chan gently and slowly lifts it out.
You can see the horn kind of just kind of holds there for a second.
It moves very slowly.
Yeah, yeah, put it back in.
Put it back in the back.
Thank you.
All right, right, right, right, it's fine, it's right.
So I'm gonna go down to the, what is it, the temple below the thing?
Okay, yeah, go down to the temple.
Or I'm gonna go play by the dog with myself.
That sounded wrong.
Okay, so you head down into the temple to Sarenrae,
which is beautiful.
It's all like a giant two-story stained glass,
three set walls with trees and hedges set up
and flowers, a bunch of wooden kind of long benches set up
towards the altar in the center.
It's beautiful, especially this time of day.
It's made out of like tree trunks.
It's close to noon right now,
so the sun's kind of streaking through the top of it,
and it's just kind of cascading through the tree boughs
of the two trees that are closest to the entrance.
It's a beautiful sight.
Even you, Grogger moved.
Just because I'm nervous,
I reach into the bag of boarding and pull out
a vial of holy oil that I have.
I have three files of only one,
I'm just holding one hand,
while I'm down there, all right.
So while he's down there, the rest of you guys,
what are you doing?
I'm gonna cast circle of teleportation in my room.
Okay.
Oh no, I'm gonna go to the treasury first,
I'm gonna take up 500 gold pieces
and then I'm gonna go up in my room
and cast circle teleportation.
Okay.
Deberius is gone.
Let's heal Kim.
So you left?
You just left us?
But the blessing of bottom would I choose to Coonionion.
Fis!
Tabarius is gone.
Okay, so I'm gonna stand behind
chema, I assume.
We're going to face her towards
the wall. Face her towards the wall. Good idea.
Or towards something happy.
We're ready to pull you away when she starts to move.
Okay. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Are we on freezing her?
Yeah. No, no, no. I thought we were going to
talk to Allura first. No, no, no, we're going to talk to her.
Oh, wait. That's right.
You were drunk, it's okay. That's right.
Oh, this is totally tipsy.
My head hurts. Sorry, we had the, we came up with like
eight glass. He was so.
Wait, should be here? He's the one who likes her.
God volunteer to do.
Oh, the things I sacrifice for the group.
All right.
Okay, so I cast greater restoration.
Okay, you reach out and you touch the back of Kima.
Her stone armor turns to gold and rapidly her entire form goes back to flesh.
As she finishes her swimming with a wall against the stone wall, just
and she kind of steps back for a second confused and looks over her shoulder with the rest of you.
Everything's okay, everything's okay, we're out of danger, we're at home, it's okay.
Guess what? We are a lot.
We lived.
She kind of drops the mall for a second
and kind of...
I just get the leftover, like mashed potatoes from breakfast.
Like breakfast.
Thank you, thank you.
Oh, thank you.
She might even using utensil.
She's just like scooping over their hand
at this point.
So we killed Kavan, right?
Obviously.
Yeah.
And then...
Funny story, you were right about
Corona. He was horrible.
We killed him.
We killed him.
You were right.
Hey, you were right.
A bunch of evil brothers.
And we got the very few.
fancy hat out of it. Hey, right. Look at this hat.
We should have known all along, you were right, we should have
trusted you, sorry. It's all right, it's all right.
He had his uses, I'm certain, I just... You were right, we were wrong, you're very
attractive, we're all quite ugly.
For yourself. It's not necessary, but I have
complimented, it's appreciated regardless.
Oh, thank you for... Thank you for bringing you back with you. You could have easily left me
back and I appreciate that you took the time.
So you're alive, that's good, because you were sort of
on a suicide mission.
Huh, that suicide mission.
What exactly was your mission, Kim?
Good.
Where's the horn?
Well, the thing is, it's not here.
All right.
It's not with the other fit, is it?
It's in a safe place.
No, for sure.
But how safe?
Pretty safe.
What can it do?
What can it do?
Freedy safe.
She looks visually nervous, but she goes,
No.
Nothing can touch it.
That's what the order that originally sealed it believes.
Even if it's somewhere safe temporarily,
we can possibly relocate it, but we have to...
You saw your mission as a suicide mission,
but if you had secured it, what were your plans,
what was plan B? What were you going to do with it?
If I were to fall in the process of trying to get the horn, others would come after me.
I had sent word to my order that if I did not return, they would send more.
Can I insight?
Go for it, yeah, go and roll inside.
And if you...
19?
Keep subscribing, guys.
Totally.
Because whispering action doesn't come free.
How many, how many subscribers away are we?
38?
38, 38 subscribers.
That's a lot.
That's a lot.
That is still a lot.
We can do it.
Where you can do it.
Where you can watch Matt Mercer whisper it.
Exactly.
She goes, so this horn, which is one of two, if Laura's correct,
was sealed a thousand or so years ago by those who originally cut it from the head of the avatar of Orchus,
of which it was bestowed.
Once he was slain, everything they could within their power to destroy it,
yet this artifact instilled with the period of Orchus was indestructible to their knowledge.
so the least they could do was to seal both horns
across the world from each other
and forget that it even existed.
Which worked well until recently.
And it wasn't until these visions came to me
that in other members of my order
that we knew that this was a thing.
Me being the closest in my pilgrimage,
we took that as time of the essence
I was to go in there with a team and retrieve it.
If it couldn't be destroyed at the very least,
we could convene and decide
a safer place to possibly reseal it and forget.
and there are magical ways of forcing those of us who know how to forget.
That would be the safest thing for it.
If there is a way to destroy it, we don't know, but that could also be sought after.
We have arcane and the divine knowledge we didn't have back then.
So in the long run, it needs to be retrieved.
The longer it stays down than the underdark, no matter where you placed it,
it draws like a beacon, all darkness to it, until something else like this behold.
hold a Kavarn, and they'll take up the mantle and themselves be as dangerous or more so than he ever was.
So the other horn is still safe? As far as I know. The visions only gave me access to where this one was.
I can only assume that it's out there, but if someone else were to find it, I would know that they
probably have knowledge of the second one existing as well. I know not if Kavarn shared this
information, but if someone else takes the mantle of this horn, what's to stop them from seeking
the other? Okay.
I appreciate that we're all alive and we're together and where are we?
Oh, you're in our home.
Grace Cole Keep, it's an Iman.
We're in Iman.
Yes.
That's wondrous.
We could speak with Elora.
She would have the wisdom to know what to do with this next.
Hypothetical.
What if an army of darkness who slowly approach any man to kill all of us?
What are you saying?
Well, we didn't.
We killed Clarota and Kavarn,
but we, there was a lot of bad guys down there
that we could not kill and...
We hurt that elder brain real bad, but not bad enough.
I don't know much about the illitered themselves,
but they reside deep and they're not fans of the surface.
I believe that it was Kavarn's initial onset that was pushing
them both in union with the Durga and pushing them towards the siege.
I spoke of something about bringing Twilight to the surface world.
I don't know what that was about, but I fear what knowledge they have if left alone.
At the very least, I know they're probably having to return and lick their wounds
wherever you left behind.
It would be folly for them, especially knowing that we're aware to attack now.
Okay, that's good.
But we can notify those in Crackhammer to buffer their defenses,
close the tunnels that you took down there and my army as well.
And that should give us time to prepare if we choose to seize or at least seal them off.
And your order is what?
The order of the Platinum Dragon.
Right.
That's a really good order, right?
Oh, can history check? Can I do a history check?
That's a religion check.
That's a religion tech, not a history check?
And you can roll history and probably gains knowledge based on that.
Could I?
Say it.
If you'd like to, do you.
Are you doing a religion check?
I'm doing a history check.
If you want to do a religion check.
I'll do a religion check.
22.
You guys are familiar loosely with the name Bahama.
If you've heard Tiberius bring it up before,
you've seen temples to it.
But your knowledge knows that the Bahamad is very well regarded
as the lawful good deity of justice and honor
and is primarily one of the great good gods of this pantheon.
I think I'm going to trust anyone.
I think this is a good, I think.
Yeah, I'm feeling like a person down in the basement.
I trust the organization.
They have a sterling reputation.
They did.
So.
The temple.
Kima, pie in the sky, gull.
You would destroy the horn?
If we had the means of doing so, yes, I just, I, I,
we'd have to, we'd have to talk to the order,
we'd have to talk to the council,
we'd have to bring people that we could trust,
and that had the capabilities of knowing
if this were possible how we would go about it.
It's beyond my knowledge.
I think what worries us is anyone coming in contact with it
would be corrupted.
Don't go into contact with it.
No, no, no, no.
I'm tempted.
Of course.
Just within any.
range. Yes, is proximity okay? I don't know. I saw it for as long as you did.
Evil grog? Evil grog?
No.
I don't find comfortable. The essence of most artifacts like this, it goes more than
just touch. One has to be a viewed to bond with these artifacts to attune with them
like any powerful magical item to truly gain its power. But that's not to say that
itself does not contain some sort of foul intelligence.
Can I go downstairs and go get broke?
Okay.
So you walk a way down.
I've got a lovely book.
As you walk past, you can see, as you walk past,
you are immediately met in the hallway by Irwin,
your servant, your half-ling elder servant.
And I want it to let you know that a scroll came for you
with some sort of a summons.
And he hands it to you and.
Probably Jerry, dude.
And he kind of walks past you in the tunnel.
You kind of open it up a little bit,
it hasn't been open, you kind of pull the front open up.
It's a summon to the council of Taldore.
It's written written to the clerk and says essentially
the sovereign Uriel has been notified of your arrival
and would like to see you at the council chambers post-haste.
Right.
I'm gonna go, I'm still gonna go get Grob,
but I'll pass this girl around.
I feel bad, yeah.
That was, super-dick-
What?
That was for critical, or for Rock Monkno.
That was for all of us?
Yeah.
It was addressed about to Michael.
Okay.
It's all, just don't say anything yet, but just come upstairs.
Tell us if you start to feel fine.
She asked about me.
She definitely did.
She did, yeah.
With my bald head.
Make your way back in.
Kimmer finishes her meal and you guys are chatting a bit.
Just like, all right, if I'm I asked, how did you see that time?
I feel uncomfortable knowing the process.
process and that it's at least safe.
Oh, we had the best defense mechanism.
Grog.
Hello, Lady Kimber.
It's in a very secure, magical item.
There I am.
She glances out you and says, all right, very well.
Just be mindful that you don't go reaching in there.
I use my Druid craft as he enters to make like little sparkles and like lightning bugs appear around him.
Lady Kimma, who is currently covered in dirt and sweat,
still in the golden armor that she wrestled
from the long dead corpse of a dwarf in the under dark.
Her chin is smattered with dried mashed potatoes
and bit of her breakfast.
He's covered in food as well.
Kind of gives you a look.
He's walking like, it's good to see you alive, friend.
Yeah, more than alive, I think.
And also, he actually pulled you out of the cavern
with one arm while you were stone out of the
whole, the whole place.
Oh, stop, I don't like to break.
She stands up and kind of wipes, wipes the food off her chin,
clutches her symbol, and then kind of steps right before you looking up towards your face and says,
I thank you, friend Grog.
Friend zone.
And then reaches out and gives you a big hug.
Oh.
Plus, he decided not to put you in the magical bag.
Which is good.
She releases...
Big plus.
slightly and kind of gives you a keen look,
goes, also appreciated?
Oh my God, thank God, because what if...
Why don't you go rest?
We'll summon Allura,
and we'll continue the conversation from there, I guess.
Please, I'd love to see you. It's been too long.
All right, I'm in a...
Is there a room I could rest?
Yes.
Oh, yeah.
You can use my room.
No.
Yes, true.
Yeah, you squads room.
Oh, we do have a guest.
We have a guest room.
We should use it.
Just bought it.
I would have had your back.
Irwin is by the door leads her to the guest room,
and you guys take a moment for us.
We'll go ahead and pick up next session at that point
where there was being brought in.
