The party has traveled to White Stone, partially to to free their name of some negative political ramifications back in their home city of Amman, and to aid Percy in possibly freeing his hometown of Whitestone from the oppression of Lord and Lady Briarwood,
Starting point is 00:01:44 a couple who have risen to power over the past five years after slaughtering his family and taking it over and keeping it all this time. After arriving, they found a very heavy undead presence in the town with giant zombie, Giant zombies roaming the streets as sentinels. Most of the townsfolk kind of kept under perpetual watch in this slowly will-crushing atmosphere. But as Vox Machina arrived, they began to instill the thoughts of rebellion, stoking those flames once again with the return of a surviving Dorolo. They began to sway the people's minds to make a final stand. During that time of which they also discovered that Percy's sister Cassandra is also a surviving Dorolo and exists somewhere in Castle Whitestone, seemingly, under Locking Key. The party began to systematically
Starting point is 00:02:37 take out members of the new nobles who worked underneath the Briarwoods, setting many buildings on fire, leaving emblems of the Dorolo crest across the town and written in the sky, and after an extensive battle, began to make the way towards the Castle White Stone itself, going into a partially collapsed but long-remembered secret passage underneath the castle. The party rested for the evening with the help of their recently arrived cleric Pike, who had managed to project herself through the will of Sarenra as a spiritual body given temporary physical form. While they were searching this tunnel, it led to the dungeons, the prison cells beneath the castle White Stone, where Percy once woke up five years before, of work us on,
Starting point is 00:03:23 helped him escape. While they were walking through those cells, they discovered an old woman currently locked down below there who was asking for the parties aid and freeing her from her imprisonment. And last time we left off, you were sort of helping with fake helping with the lock, much to her chagrin. Yeah, and I had just snapped it off into the lock so that it's jammed it. You're a terrible person. All right, so as you snap off the lock and pull away from it, having the strange physical interaction and the darkness around here, Trinke kind of behind you, just kind of breathing over your shoulder, keeping close to you just in case anything goes wrong.
Starting point is 00:04:07 She kind of pulls her hands away. Fine. Do as you wish. Leave me to rot. We'll be back. Don't worry. She backs up and sits in the far corner of the prison of the cell and... Look around, has everybody else left me then? The only people that are in the light. Yeah. All right, then I follow to where everybody else is going.
Starting point is 00:04:35 All right. And she only saw me and you. Me. And me. And Scanlan. Yeah. You all stepped out into the light. The rest of you kind of stating the shadows around.
Starting point is 00:04:49 All right. So there are the rest of the cells which Vax has gone through and taken some time to inspect where you found what appeared be the remnants of individuals who were imprisoned here and then left to die, long-rotted, their corpses picked apart by various resident rodents and other creatures. After doing your passes, this conversation has happened, you see no other signs of life down here, this being the sole prisoner currently within the cells below. I go and I find Scanlan. Oye. So, question. Yes. When you cast
Starting point is 00:05:28 seeming on us. Yes. Visual. If you made me look like a cow, would you, would I seem like a cow when I bumped into you or would I seem like a human? Are you asking me to make you into a cow right now? No, I'm saying that if something was different. Because I think this is not the right time. I think that old woman was doing something weird. Why do you think that? Because she looked like she had full hands, but... Four hands? Full. Oh, full hands. Normal sort of hands. But I didn't feel them. You didn't feel them. You touched her hand and just passed right through it. Her hand touched me, but it didn't. That's an illusion of some sort, yeah. So she was doing some sort of hand. I don't know what, but yes, if I were to cast seeming on us
Starting point is 00:06:16 or some other sort of magic, it would make us look one way, but not feel that way. I guess it's good that we left her then. She's doing, she's a caster of some sort? No. Can you dispel, seeming? Should we go find out? How do we do that? How would we do that?
Starting point is 00:06:36 Can you dispel seeming? I don't know. Let's go find out. Do you have a dispel magic? No. On you right now? I have, no. Oh my God, I do.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Well. Oh, I learned it. Oh, Kila. Hey, Kilith. Are we calling everyone over for this conversation? Is that the- Are we calling her? I think we should.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Yeah, I'm far away. There's a kid. That prisoner over there is casting magic of something. Yeah, I don't like her. I think she had seeming cast on her. I don't know if she did it itself or if, but I don't think she was what she Want to waste power on somebody who's...
Starting point is 00:07:09 What if she's a sentinel? Yeah. What if she's a guard? What if she's Lady Briarwood, like what we were saying? That's what I'm most afraid. Well, then we should find out now and kill the shit out of her. I vote for that. Well, before we do that, let's see who she is.
Starting point is 00:07:27 I'm wearing... I did come to disguise, by the way. Dispel magic. With a particular... I learned it. Stay in the shadows, key, then cast it on you. Let me... Versa, you're wearing what?
Starting point is 00:07:39 I'm wearing a hat of disguise so that I'm not immediately identifiable. What are you in disguise as? A dude in a hat? Link from the Legend of Zelda. I don't know. You've got to figure it out right now, don't you? I've got to figure it out right now. Just as a reasonable white stone peasant.
Starting point is 00:08:00 Oh, then? Reasonable. Terrible tea. Tried. Trial. Trial. By comparison to this troop, you look like some poor sap who got pulled along. But yeah, you are their, you're the one quest giver in
Starting point is 00:08:13 Warcraft that walks way too slow, and the party's like, come on, move. That's who you look like, crafty. So before we dispel magic on her, should we have someone put her in their sights in case she gets a little funky monkey? She will be able to feel it. Well, yeah, she'll look like she's not herself. We could also just ask her to drop it that we see that she's... We asked her who she was. She lived. lied a lot.
Starting point is 00:08:40 We could ask her to drop the seeming, though. She lied pretty well, too. She did. I could go talk to her, and meanwhile she could be fiddling with her magic behind me. Do it. You go talk to her, I'll be prepared. I'll stay in the shadows with my aeronautics.
Starting point is 00:08:54 I'll stay with Scanlon in case things go wrong. I'm we. Yes. I stay next to your... I'll stay in the shadows. How close together are the bars to this? The bars are about, I'd say, four inches of point. four inches apart? Four inches.
Starting point is 00:09:09 So my arrow will do much better than your dagger. Well, no, I'm not saying for you not to, but would I be able to come to with you throw through here, do you think, if I stood? No. Right. Fine. I'm not telling you not to. No, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Yeah. You have a little bit of cover, but. Shoot your hour too. Shoot your dagger. He doesn't shoot dagger. Passive aggressive much. All right, so I stroll over back to the cell. With.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Scatman. Oh, with flanks by grog. Yes. Yes. Okay. Not looking friendly, me though. Okay, and there is the one torch that's a little off of the side that gives a little bit of light into this one portion of the dungeon blow here.
Starting point is 00:09:47 She's kind of sat out into the shadows of the far corner, arms crossed. You can see a little bit of the light framing her form. You make out okay in the darkness this close as a gnome, but you can see that she's kind of just hunched in the corner, huffing in frustration. Oye, old lady, listen, we said we were going to come back for you and release you when all was said and done, but we cannot make that promise if you don't tell us the complete truth. Now we know that you're using magic of some sort.
Starting point is 00:10:18 Now tell us who you really are. I'm sorry, what? We are smart little people and big people. And we know we can sense that you are casting math. of some sort on yourself to disguise yourself. Now, I have some familiarity with this, so I make no judgment as to why, but please reveal your true self to us,
Starting point is 00:10:43 or else we cannot trust you, and we will leave you here to rot and possibly die. That face. Better than that is... As Keeleth, partially in the shadows, the form of Scanlan, small enough, not really obscure her presence, but she nevertheless, you know, gestures in the air,
Starting point is 00:11:17 recites beneath her words. Welcome with anticipation. Yeah, the forbidden juridic languages that coalesce the powers of nature around, at which point there's a dull flash of energy within the cell. Some of the nearby straw on the ground kind of just gets blown away from her form from just the general push of air that the spell kind of disperses in the impact. Sorry, got a little swirly on that one. The gray hair, the tattered clothes, all.
Starting point is 00:11:47 vanish, revealing beneath it a woman in her early, mid-40s or so. Jet black hair pulled into a tight ponytail, but strings of it kind of in front of her face. Still kind of disarray, but nowhere near is wrecked as the previous visage you were presented with. She's wearing nice travel clothes with what looks like some sort of a long duster almost, like coat that is a little ragged. You can see there's a little stain from just probably being down here for a while. And as soon as this moment hits, she pushes back even further, kind of pressing herself against the wall, arms to the side. I must say you look way better like this.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Happy? Extremely. Yes, I'd say so. Yes, yes. So who are you for real? My name is Anna. And I would like to be set free if you don't mind. Don't mind. I can be of assistance to you. I happen to know a lot of information about the people that currently reside within this castle. How would you know anything about them?
Starting point is 00:13:03 Release me and I'll tell you. Do you want to be set free? Tell us and we'll release you. Who's that bad? You've been so forthright in your interest in helping such an old and frailied woman. How can I have any sort of guarantee of my safety? Should I give you the information you seek you can very well slay me in this cell? That might happen if you're not. if you're not careful.
Starting point is 00:13:24 What's Percy doing right now? Where's Percy? Do you recognize her Percy? Yes. You very much recognize it. You do notice, by the way, her right hand is, the sleeve ends, there is no hand there.
Starting point is 00:13:41 It is just a missing hand, and there's left hand as visible. As far as we can see, unarmed, right? Yeah. Yes. Let's be frank with each other. You have two options. Either you are going to die in this cell, and I promise you you will die in this cell, or you're going to convince
Starting point is 00:14:08 us why you shouldn't. So I would start talking right now, or I swear, we will not leave this dungeon before you're dead. Intimidation check. 16. 16. 16. 16. And just as he finished us talking, I throw a dagger right a foot away from my head in the wall. Okay. a fucking dagger and then if she flashes back to you, right?
Starting point is 00:14:43 So the dagger, which is thrown, it hits the stone wall next to her and jams itself between two of the stone bricks and kind of gets wedged there for a second. She looks over a second, reaches up for it and grabs the hilt as it vanishes in a puff of smoke. So lucky it did that. Leans forward and stands up and steps into the light. You have a better look of her now. Her face is a little weathered from travel, and you can see she definitely doesn't appear to be a nobleborn, at least, by her, she's not by no means a homely looking individual, but she definitely can see. She's seen the world, or elements of it to have those dark lines at the sides of her face, whether
Starting point is 00:15:34 be from smile or frowning. She steps into the light and looks to you, this peasant individual making these threats, and seems partially. shaken, but keeping her composure in the face of such threats. It says, well, for one thing, I've been here with them for the past five years. I helped them reestablish their current social control of this city when they left it a pile of flames and rubble. And their little experiment beneath the castle, I was one of their chief scientific designers. So, tell us a about the experiments beneath the castle. I have to ask Silas or Delilah for that.
Starting point is 00:16:20 I don't have all the details of the reasons behind it, other than the process I was brought in to construct. So. Can I see if she's lying? You can't make an insight check. That's a number. It is a number 16. 16? Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:41 You get the sense that she's telling the truth. You're not quite sure how far of the truth, but there doesn't seem to be any sort of bold-faced deception in her voice at this point. She speaks with a confidence and a briskness of a person who's frustrated by the circumstance and has no other choice. I wasn't interested in their zealotry or the whisper dealings, just the challenge behind the construction. I enjoy challenge. Challenge that pays?
Starting point is 00:17:10 Well, I enjoy that even more. Question two. What are you doing down here? Really? I'm down here because my work is done, and I wish not to linger with an impending balance. I don't choose science. I merely let them fight while I live another day far away. I wouldn't have gotten this far, dealing with the people I've dealt with in the past if I had chosen to stick around under such circumstances. So I tried to leave. It appears Anters saw me packing and decided to gain a little favor by turning me in.
Starting point is 00:17:45 So they threw me down here, told me to wait out the rest of the experiment, at least until the ziggurat was complete. And so here I am, living amongst rats in a cell for over a week. That's my reward. How'd you lose their hand? Experiments can be dangerous sometimes. I dabble with chemicals and our chemical reagents that can be miscalculated. And I pay the price. That'll be an ever-present reminder until I can find a way to fix it. And there are ways. Are you looking for ways to get back at the bruce? to get back at the Briarwoods.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Based on the way they've treated me here, and their possible intent to not even keep up their end of the bargain, now that I'm free to walk away, perhaps. Can you lead us to Cassandra de Rolo? She turns her head with a curious look. I could, yes. Why do you ask?
Starting point is 00:18:48 She looks at you very intently. That may be what your life is worth. So, what else do you wish to know? What else do you know? What else do you know? need to even get me out from behind these bars, because I'm growing very uncomfortable and cold here in this cellar. I pull forward.
Starting point is 00:19:15 I look her very deeply in the eye, and I say, you should know who your friends are here. Do you know that we're friends? And I'm going to become friends. So I'm casting friends. OK. What? What?
Starting point is 00:19:41 Mm-hmm. Is it good Percy casting friends or Shadow Monster casting friends? We'll never know. Percy, for the search, you are. Getting creepy. Just for flavor, there is definitely some creepy happening. I mean getting creepy. So you stood at her at this point intent pushing yourself towards the bars,
Starting point is 00:20:00 and she's still kind of looking you over, like she's searching for some sort of an inclination as to why you're so interested in these particular questions. You've been truthful with you. been truthful with us so far, correct? You haven't been fudging around or playing games with us, really, have you? I have no reason to lie. Worse comes to worse, you kill me where I stand or leave me here to rot. What do I have to gain by lying at this point?
Starting point is 00:20:24 Besides, you've already proven you can see through quite a few ruses, apparently. So, you'd be happy to help us find Cassandra de Rolo, wouldn't you? If it gets me out of here and gets me free to do my own business, then yes. I left to get a few things from my room, but... I would be more than happy to be free of this desolate landscape, this whole town is a ruin of misery, and it has no color, has no culture. I have no bored of it. You say you're a scientist. Yes?
Starting point is 00:20:57 Do you use magic? I have no interest in paltry magics. I'm more of a one who embraces the sciences as a means of understanding mystery. My whole purpose here was one giant chemical experiment. Then who cast seeming on you? That is to say I don't have my tricks. Anna. A lying bitch.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Chemical experiment. You will take us to Cassandra Dorovo. You will tell us what you know about what's in the basement. You will tell us where to find Lord and Lady Briarwood. And you will tell us where to find Professor Anders. And for this, we may let you go. May.
Starting point is 00:21:52 That word may. I'll let you leave the castle. And if I agree to these terms who will release me this moment, keep me safe until it is time for me to take my leave? We may chain you to a bear, but yes. This is a whole...
Starting point is 00:22:09 This is chlorote all fucking over again. You are, at the moment, the luckiest person in Whitestone. Do you know why? Hmm. So you're at the bottom of my list. I take off the hat. As the peasant image fades before her,
Starting point is 00:22:37 there's an intensity to her eyes, a widening of realization as she steps back instinctually with a gasp. And there is definite fear in her voice and her eyes, but there's an uncontrollable smile on her face, which catches you off guard. She's a nervous lapper. No, then. This certainly explains a lot.
Starting point is 00:23:07 I have many questions. I find your recent work very fascinating. I will be happy to give you an up-close and very personal demonstration, unless, of course, you would rather have conversations about other topics. Let's start with the other topics. She kind of adjusts her coat, regains her composure, and steps up to the bars, expectantly. Vax, come out of the shadow.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Oh, God. Are we really letting her out? Yep, we're not. Get a chain ready, or a noose of some sort. Oh, we have medicals. Great. She's got one hand, how's that going to be useful? Well, one hand, I pull out...
Starting point is 00:23:59 I pull out the pig. One of the bear, right? Yeah, sure. This is just only one to shoot off to make sure she won't be a problem. I pull out a pick and I walk up to the gate and I say he's a very good shot. She's a very good shot. He poops on things all the time. This guy, I've watched turn things into the jelly of the month, so I would tread very carefully. And I kind of peek out of the shadows and I go, hi.
Starting point is 00:24:34 She's a nervous laughing. Go ahead and make a contract luck pick. This will be more difficult than normal because Shori snapped off a thing in there. Yeah, alright. I'm not sweating, yeah. Okay. Don't want to use luck.
Starting point is 00:24:54 You need me to inspire you. You're going to use luck now? Will wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Don't use luck yet. Wait. That's not that bad. That's a 20. That's a 20 baseline?
Starting point is 00:25:10 Yeah, because. of my expertise. Perks, yeah. All right. 20 is exactly what you needed. That was the next one. So you take a moment, you walk up all slick and... Wait, one second. This never happened.
Starting point is 00:25:29 You have to get down, and you spend the next 30 seconds actually managing to get the pin that she has stuck in there out without actually breaking the spring inside in the rhetoric. Sorry about that. Sorry about that. The fucking stores. It never adds. About a minute and a half of awkward quiet as the sound of scraping metal and jimbing thieves tolls eventually,
Starting point is 00:25:50 we're still very tough, don't let this. And with that, the lock comes loose and the bars open a little bit. Drink it, watch her. The bear kind of, which at this point has been barely visible steps out of the shadows as well. Barely. Oh, it would be you. Kill him. Kill him.
Starting point is 00:26:14 All right, so steps out and presents very puffed up and, you know, trinket made to look at me, towards Dr. Anna Ripley. Here's the deal, Anna. You do what we ask. You do not betray us. You do not make our life difficult in any way. And you have my word. My word that you will leave Whitestone.
Starting point is 00:26:46 unmolested by us, if I sense the slightest hint, if I have a moment where I think that you might make a run for it, if I have a moment where I think you may cough inappropriately, I would ask you to think about everything you did to me. And I would like you to know that I've learned so much more than what you taught me that day. And I cannot wait to show you.
Starting point is 00:27:16 And I will, but not until I find you again. Understood. I'm sorry. Nice hand. Shall we? She steps out of the cell, pushes the bar, aside, kind of saunteres up past you, steps over, kind of still facing you underneath the torchlight. Should we shackle her?
Starting point is 00:27:42 No. Oh, all right. A little rout's suspicion. I'd like to gather my things. Things? Things? They let you have things in a prison cell? Well, I don't have them here in the cell.
Starting point is 00:27:54 They're in my room. We have to go to your room? I would like to. What if it's heavenly garden? And we'll get it for you, dear. Very well. Come. And she begins to step up the stairway that leads out of the dungeon.
Starting point is 00:28:09 Can you walk quietly, please? I hear the slight chuckle in the darkness. She goes, I haven't lived this long without learning to step a little ginger. to step a little gingerly. Boy, let's go parading to the castle, shall we? Let's go, yeah. A follower.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Okay. Well, let's all follow her, right? Yep, yep, yep, yep. As you guys are walking up the stairs, she... We should check any of the other cells? We did, we already checked them all. Okay, cool. You, are you walking up the stairs?
Starting point is 00:28:41 She's kind of talking to you a little bit out loud, and she's just saying, this whole entire endeavor, while it did pay well in the get-go, And it pique some of my curiosity. I'm very happy to see it out of my life after this. You guys get to the top of the stairs and there's a closed wooden door there. She comes to the door and kind of listens to it for a second, opens it up and looks out. Huh. Empty. Pulls the door open, it means you would like to enter. You would like to enter.
Starting point is 00:29:25 All right. Just eating the office should be. And she steps into the room. This is a end of a long hallway that leads to a series of doors in the right and left side, and it seems to open it as some sort of large, I don't say, I've almost like a foyer, but I'm a central entrance chamber to what would be the castle. And so she steps in. She's not going too far ahead. She's being very conscious that based on the fact that she has nothing on her and you are very well armed, would not be Hoover to attempt to make a run for it. Do we see anything in the room?
Starting point is 00:30:00 Any guards or any? Perception is passive as hell right now. I am trying to. Keeping a very sharp eye on. No, I understand. Looking around, and she's taking her steps slowly, and she's looking around corners as you guys progress, and the doors that are there, everyone's being very quiet,
Starting point is 00:30:18 and it's just the very gentle sounds of careful footsteps against the smooth stone floor. She turns around looking at the rest of the rest of the you're a little confused and goes, huh. There are a lot more individuals frequenting this castle. Maybe they've been thrown out by the, you know, the thing that we inside it outside has been going on for like 45 minutes now. That's true.
Starting point is 00:30:44 It's like a trap. You're I don't know. Exactly. Can we hear fighting? Yeah. I mean, you're inside the castle right now. You could go and if you want to try and enter one of the rooms to the right or left, you could see if there's a window or some sort of a, you know.
Starting point is 00:30:59 Are there any open-door room? Any rooms? All the doors are currently closed, but you don't know. I just want to see if I sense anything around. Okay. 23. Perception, yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:31:10 You take a moment and kind of listen around. Silent, still. It's unnerving. Does she have a window in her room? You ask her? We're at her doorway, aren't we? No, you just stepped up to, like, the base floor of the castle. You're now on the base floor on the side of it.
Starting point is 00:31:32 You're not even quite sure which way is in the door. I'm quite sure which ways north. Nobody we're looking for is going to be above us, right? They're going to be below the castle. For sure. So we don't want her to get her shit in her room. We need to be asking how to get below the castle. We'll get there.
Starting point is 00:31:44 What is she getting? She wants her weapon. She wants her weapon. I want to see what she's built anyway. Why do we let her have a weapon? We're not going to. Can't we look at what she's built after we fight them? This could be.
Starting point is 00:31:57 Although we could be useful. Now, once the fight starts, she's... Just as we're walking, I just want a very just want a very, very gently take my gun and shoot her with it. And just put it gently at her back going, nothing personal, I'm just feeling a bit nervous. Understood. She straightens up a little more and continues walking ever so
Starting point is 00:32:23 carefully, not quite leaning her head or making too many large movements, but definitely still keeping a seemingly nervous eye on how quiet the atmosphere is. I creep over to one of the doors. in the room and see if I can hear anything on the other side? You don't hear anything inside the room? Roll perception check. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:52 You hear some slight, slight muffled, like a dull thud noise, but you can't really tell how close it is. It's very, very, very, very faint. Can I see if the door handle is? It's open. I step to the side and push it open. Push it open. The door opens.
Starting point is 00:33:15 Everyone before you kind of whips around hearing the noise and the silence. Just checking. Looking inside, it appears to be a long untouched music room. You know, a kind of a space for hosting individuals, you know, where you would have small performances. And, you know, there is a very cold fireplace in the far corner. There is a small circular window that is placed in the center of the room that has a very, very thick glass pane with crossbar on it that seems to look out. And this is your first view of, for you, especially since you woke up with you, your first view of the outside.
Starting point is 00:33:55 And? Do you go up to the window? I'm following my sister in doing the body cup thing. Okay. You two coast up to the glass and look out, and another cloud-covered, slight, drizzly morning has taken the caldera between the mountains, essentially, that whole houses White Stone in this forest. You can see the entire city of Whitestone down below this elevated part of topography. What you do see, one, are large plumes of smoke, about six or seven of them, all gathered towards the very, very, what you can tell now is the north side of the city, which is the closest to you. You guys are on the the south-west side of the castle based on kind of the spatial awareness you're down
Starting point is 00:34:42 made. Where the more upper-class folk would live, I'm assuming. You can see. Go ahead and roll a perception, Jack, while you're glancing out. Sure. Oh, so close. It's been so bad to any. Okay. I was like, bling-up. Those little moments. No babies, no babies.
Starting point is 00:35:06 Taking a moment and you kind of pull your brother in to kind of point out where you're looking. it looks like, number one, the gates to the castle are wide open. There are tracks through the mud that lead down the pathway to the bottom. And right where the path from the castle intersects with the outer wall of Whitestone, there is a fray going on right now. It looks like the remnants of whatever sort of undead army that wasn't destroyed by you guys, combined with what may have been a number of the individuals who normally guard the castle have all been momentarily distracted by the rebellion you guys have started, and for the time
Starting point is 00:35:45 being at least, have left elements of this castle unguarded. I would loot, but it's Percival's home. Do we see anything that looks like it could be a doorway leading down or anything? We've gone up, right? We're on the same level. We're going to try and get my sister first. Do you know, do you know, how to go under? Yes. Unless there's something new, then yes.
Starting point is 00:36:09 I was born, yeah. Okay. Before my sister leaves, I grew up by the arm and say, listen to me. What is that? Oh, God. Pizza. Shh, but I said that. Listen to me.
Starting point is 00:36:27 I do not have a good feeling about this. And I start to undo the cloak that's on me, and I want you to wear this. And I tie an elven cloak, shut up. Please, I don't need it. You will wear this, you will stay hidden when it is needed. You almost lost me, I almost lost you. You will wear this as needed. I will wear it. So you don't have a double-clogue. So you get a bin-edged on stealth checks. As you guys step into the hallway and you're moving forward, you know, Pikes' physical form
Starting point is 00:37:18 is kind of drifting along you guys, and she takes each step, you can see you she's kind of stopped a little bit and she's lost in thought for a moment. And she kind of looks at the rest of you and says, there's a great evil here. It's, and you can see part of her form kind of flicker and shake and almost blink for a moment. And then she resourced because something's willing me away. And with that, her form just... Oh no!
Starting point is 00:37:47 ...vanishes. As you feel this warmth on your hand, backs, and the symbol of serenry that you have embedded in your glove. You look down and it's as a slight glow to it, similar to the color that her divine energy form had taken. You see it just slowly fade but not entirely. The symbol seems to just have this general, very faint radiation, a reminder or at least what small semblance of a connection to her in this dark, dark place. Goodbye, Mike. Before we move on from that foyer, can we see the front door from where we're at?
Starting point is 00:38:29 If you go another 20, 30 feet ahead to the end of this hallway, it should open up into the main entrance chamber and you would be able to see the doors. We're not there yet, okay. No. I'm going to take a moment and I have an epiphany and I'm going to shift my form into a castle guard. Okay. Next. Very smart. What you saw through the window, should we move through the castle quickly because it's unguarded?
Starting point is 00:38:56 Yes. It's... There's fighting going on now. I don't want to eat right. I don't want to eat right. We'll wait. Yeah, we'll wait. I saw fighting.
Starting point is 00:39:09 Lots of fighting. I feel like if we're going to move, we need to do it quickly. All right. Yeah, we're on a clock. Okay, let's go. Anna. Anna? I'll lower the gun and let her move forward.
Starting point is 00:39:25 I didn't lower it. Okay. Where was it? She continues forward, heads towards the rest of the hallway into the main entrance chamber of the castle. Very carefully looking about. She gestures the rest of you to follow up. As you follow up alongside her, you can see the two large front doors that situate the entrance, the main entrance to Whitestone. Are they open? No, they are close.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Okay. I have 20 kaltrups. Can I throw ten of them in front of them? Door. Yeah, if you'd like to. They scatter and cling against the ground, scraping against the stone and eventually coming to a stop loosely around the two doors, which are about eight feet wide each, so 16 feet of it, so you're scattering about one every foot and a half. I watched him do that, and I kind of shrug, and I reach into my pack and I throw 30 more out.
Starting point is 00:40:23 Okay. There is a little more coverage on there, but nevertheless, there is a nice cluster of nasty spiked caltrops now. That's a good idea. That's a good idea, well. That's a good. Good. Wrong, using your noggin. One a day. One a day. So I thought for the day, then.
Starting point is 00:40:40 Let's get to her room. Don't spray yourself. We need to play this. I bark. Ripley is making her way up the stairs. And the staircase ascends for a good 15 feet up before it splits into two curved stairways that come around to a second landing to the second floor.
Starting point is 00:41:01 So hang on one second real quick. He's dressed as a guard. Mm-hmm. I'm going to go ahead and cast enhanceability on you for charisma. I don't need it. We do know. Has it worn off? It lasts for a minute, so yeah, it's worn off.
Starting point is 00:41:20 Oh, and I'll last for a minute? No, the one I had on. No, the one I had on. I had enhanced charisma on for a little while, but now it's gone. So if you do it, it will not, what I had is gone. So if you do it. Oh, we'll help him. Do it.
Starting point is 00:41:33 I'll do it. I'm going to enhance. In case we get busted, so you'll have advantage on persuasion rules. Okay, so you have advantage and all charisma-based ability checks. All right. Putting that down. Also, no one forget that we have hero speech. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:45 We know it. While we're walking, how long if I put the holy oil on things, it lasts for a few hours, right? It lasts for like half a day or something? I'd say it lasts for about an hour after application. Wait till we're in the thick of it. I think it's like, let's go, man. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:42:00 The oil will eventually just drift off as it is an oil. Dries and stuff. Yeah, it dries and most of the world. So I spend an hour after application. All right. So let's head to her room. Okay. You head up the stairs, and she's being very quiet about it.
Starting point is 00:42:12 She comes up to the landing, heads to the first major hallway that opens up into a long set that goes all the way to the eastern side of the castle. You recognize this area. This is where a number of smaller guest rooms were arranged. There is also a reading room. There is a... Around the corner down the way is where your father's study is. And around the back is where Professor Ander's study was. She continues forward and eventually stops to a door halfway down the hall. Kind of motions to all of you. Do you mind? What do you want? What's in there? My belongings?
Starting point is 00:43:02 I want to see what you've been working on. All right. She opens the door. I'll wait outside and stand watch. I'll walk in with her. I stay right next to her. Okay. I don't know what's wrong with it.
Starting point is 00:43:18 Still, it's so big. It's very plainly decorated. Like it's, you know, these rooms are generally very well decorated just in case. Decorations have been taken off. This room just, it looks very minimalistic, and for the room, minimalistic and for the most part more for function than anything else. You see there is plain sheets in the bed. Most of the rooms, open space is taken by a long table that's been put here that has a series of alchemical glassware. And you can see what looks to be small containers that contain
Starting point is 00:43:55 different materials and powders and seems like she does her own work here. There are two open drum on the side, and there is kind of this very caustic smell to the air. There is a sort of a surbic tinge to the nose as soon as the room enters. There's just this ever-present, very heavy kind of almost like a fresh rust smell to the room. She walks to the far end underneath the desk that contains this alchemical setup. She pulls a small chest out. I watch very carefully. She brings the chest at the top, she opens it up, and on the inside you can see just some folded clothing. She moves clothing off to the side, she pulls out what looks like.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Relatively simple leather armor. May I? Very, very slowly. There'll be creepy. Creep. Creepie? Creepy? I'm gonna put her through the wall. She moves in the wrong way. No, I almost killed you and still bend. Really? You remember? I didn't know that was you. I was kind of curious if you'd figured it out or not. No.
Starting point is 00:45:13 Tell you what, I'll hold on to that armor for the time being. She's partway into it. Yeah, you can take it off. We'll put it in the bag of holding. You can put it on after we're done. She kind of boulds the tunic portion of it over the chest piece and hands it to you, pulls out some of the arm, wrists and the leg guards, and hands it over as well.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Show me your work. She goes underneath the chest, and she pulls out two small glass vials, I'm going to set some on the side. She then reaches underneath and pulls up, it looks to be a false bottom of the chest. At least is it. Cute. At which point she reaches in and pulls out. A metallic construction that you all see looks
Starting point is 00:45:56 not unlike in shape and purpose as the pepper box that you've seen per segalize all this time, but it has only a single barrel and has a small rotating four-part chamber. to it. It's a little more refined than his construction. And you can see now part of the alchemical setup she has in here actually is, and you recognize this as you get close, part of it is designed in the creation of ammunition and refining the powder that is used by this process. And you see a series of notes that are off to the side that have sketches outlined of your pepper box, though not really accurate and almost like they were reclassed.
Starting point is 00:46:38 recalled from various individuals that had seen it in person and given accounts of it. She's been keeping a very close log of eyewitness accounts of your weaponry, apparently, for some time. She's a fan girl. Yes, she is. Disappointed. I was expecting something more imaginative. Oh, please. Adjunative.
Starting point is 00:46:58 You've seen my room, have you not? I prefer function. She reaches out and she... Keep your hands away and step back. We'll give those to you when it's time to leave. How am I to defend myself should things go and pardon my term ass-up? Are you planning on fighting with us? Helping us? You say you won't release me until you finish what you're doing here.
Starting point is 00:47:28 I assume that what you're doing here is ending the current reign of those who rule this town. I can't assume that's going to end with a conversation. I lean my head in and say the Goliath could turn your head into pace now, if you like. Tell you what, we'll take the weapons and give it to you if we need your help. Let it have the armor. That's a sign of good faith. What if it's not sharing it or so kind? And give me your ammunition, and when it's time, I will hand some to you. So we leave me here the weapons, but no, no, no, I'm taking the weapon.
Starting point is 00:48:06 The weapon's useless. I don't care. She gives you the weapon, begrudgingly, hands you a pout for up this big that's pretty heavy, containing the weapon. a series of iron balls inside. You can see there's the various instrument she uses for forging them and crafting them there across the table. She puts her hand out towards you for the armor. She puts it on a little quicker this time because she feels like she had a little victory. She takes her little vial. She puts them in her pocket. She reaches over and grabs a little pouch inside the side with the change and kind of puts a little bit of money to the side there.
Starting point is 00:48:46 What are in those vials? I'm sure he just pulls him out and shows it to you, and you recognize the color, she goes, like, do you think of the only one who doesn't occasionally suffer a wound? I'd look up for myself as well. It's a healing potion, a greater healing potion. One of them is?
Starting point is 00:49:05 And they both are. No, the one she pulled out and showed you. What about the other one? Really? Yes. Really? Really. Lest your brains leak out your brain
Starting point is 00:49:17 leak out your ears. She pulls out the other one. This is in case things go really poorly, and I need to uphold my sense of self-preservation. What does that mean? Yeah, what does that mean? Convince us to let you keep it. It allows me to make a fleeting escape on the air
Starting point is 00:49:42 as opposed to my foot. Oh, well then give it to me. And the glass almost shatters with the amount of frustrating force she slams it into your hand. Careful. That's my glass, darling. That's my glass, darling. So, you're going to get me to give it back to you.
Starting point is 00:50:02 No need to get testy. Sorry, you have a potion of flying in your inventory right now. Oh, yo, yo, yo. And God forbid, you'll see how gracious we're feeling when we find Cassandra D'Rolo and her. Yeah, greg. Graw. Oh, I get a piece of paper. Shit, potion of flying.
Starting point is 00:50:19 This is awesome. All right. Okay, we should hurt. Do you have your shit? Can we get out of here? Yes. Everything else here is of no interest to me. here is of no interest to me, which kicks one of the drums in the way out.
Starting point is 00:50:30 Yeah. Sips back into the hallway. Anything you could use, Presbyville? Is there any more black powder or any, I've taken all for ammunition and black powder, I suppose? Anything else that looks useful to me? Make an investigation check. Is that, uh, that's intelligence? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:47 Oh, well, hell. Eight. Eight. Biles! You give a quick once over the room. The place is pretty barren. other than the large drums of what seems like some sort of, you know, three inches of some weird caustic substance at the bottom.
Starting point is 00:51:04 I hate what you've done with the place. It's recurring substance, like a lot of the vials are based around it, and so there's like a recurring theme of this, this caustic liquid throughout all of her instruments. We'll have a conversation about what she was trying to do off camera, so I can have a better understanding of it. I'm in what way? I figure I may poke you later to get a better understanding so we don't have to bore other people with like her technical, her technical accoutrement, but I would like a better, at some point and out of character understanding of what I'm looking at, of what I could disdurn about what I'm looking at.
Starting point is 00:51:38 Okay, or we could have it on camera. All right, no, I just figured it would be, I don't want to, like, I want to kill something tonight, so. Yeah. We're also running out of time. Exactly. There are. Percy, let's go.
Starting point is 00:51:51 People fighting right now. Committed as much to memory as possible, and let's go. Okay. When we defeat the Briarwoods, you can come back and explore this room to your heart's content. Tushay. You're going to move this. It'll be your place. All right. Now to your sister, is it?
Starting point is 00:52:06 That's next. Up or down. This would be on the other side of this floor. Which room? I think you know the room. And you know that you're not far, not too far from your sister's room. Really? They let her keep her room.
Starting point is 00:52:23 See you later. I go stealth. Okay. 20. Okay. 23. Okay. That spike is amazing.
Starting point is 00:52:32 Do you guys make your way across the other side of the hallway, back towards the western side of the castle, eventually finding where, not far from where your room was, as well as the rooms of your brother and Cassandra. They're all kind of localized in this one area of the castle, so you were all nearby. She goes straight to Cassandra's room, goes to the door and kind of doesn't touch it yet. A quick question before I open this door. Am I going to have a violent reaction towards you when I open it? I certainly hope not. Good. I stand right behind her.
Starting point is 00:53:13 I motion everyone, stay back. Yes. Open the door and I push Dr. Ripley into the room with me behind her. Okay. As you pull the door open and you push her in, the room is dark. There is no light. no light. A little bit of light that peeks in from the hallways and the poorly lit interior of the castle for this time of day. You can see there's her canopy bed. You can see there is her cabinet in the corner, but the room appears to be dark and empty.
Starting point is 00:53:47 Are there any wall sconces around, like torch wall sconces on the outside? I mean, there have a fuel on the walls that are currently, you know, burnt out at this point, and nothing in place. I take a torch out of the bag of holding, and I take the firebrand war hammer, ignite it, and hand the torch to Percy. Okay. A glance about the room. It's lived in.
Starting point is 00:54:10 The actual bed covers themselves are kind of pulled off. You can see there's her, she has almost like a vanity mirror cabinet in the far corner. It's all put away. The chairs kind of open a little bit like it was stepped out of. She's, the room is absent of anyone. I walk over to the closet. I open it. Okay. You open the closet. She has outfits there. Many of them don't be worn in a while.
Starting point is 00:54:45 Looking for signs of life as the paper on the desk is there? You search your desk? Yes. Make an investigation check. Let's have a real role. That will do. That's a really good role. That's a natural 20. Yeah. It is.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Yeah. Yeah. Classic Percy. All right. We're just doing this on through Pug, man. You go through her vanity cabinet and you find there's small gems. They're just little keepsakes of hers, things from her childhood. You do find there is a tattered portrait of her and your brothers and you that appears to be partially
Starting point is 00:55:32 burned on one side that is kind of kept on its own at the bottom of the top shelf. You can see currently it just shows half of your face, her next to you, and your other three brothers to the side. The rest of the family is burned off at the top point, but this was once a portrait that was in one of the hallways that apparently was destroyed in the initial attack or since then, and she's kept this scrap as some sort of memory and hit it within her cabinet. You also do find a stack of paper, a series of partially written notes and ink and quill that are false stops, letters that were partially written and then crossed off or the mistakes were made or they never got finished that are all written to Archibald.
Starting point is 00:56:20 And they talk about asking about the general unrest in the city, preparation for a a possible coming rebellion, discussing past failures, but the intent to try again. There's a theme through a lot of these notes that this appears to be one of the methods she was using to communicate in the outside of the castle and has, you know, her role in previous attempts at freeing the people of Whitestone. She's not here. Which you see Rickley's also kind of like, well if she's not here, she's someone else. in the castle, I assume. Where would she be? I don't spend my time wondering or curious about her well-being.
Starting point is 00:57:17 I just know that she is usually here. Anna, I'm going to take a leap of faith and believe, contrary to all evidence, that you're a smart woman. I pull out the gun and I put it to her head. Now, if you were the Briolwoods, where would you put my sister? I wouldn't question here, Percy. Are they keeping her, or is she here on her own, militia?
Starting point is 00:57:53 I don't know. I've got a bad feeling. And if you don't know, make me believe it. I know she's not allowed anywhere near the cigarette, or any of our distillery, so I... Distillery? I pulled the gun away. She kind of breathes since I leave.
Starting point is 00:58:17 That's been largely my project as part of this entire endeavor. I... So, when I was brought in here, I was tasked to create, to experiment with design and create large amounts of a very, very delicately an un-prepared acidic compound, one that could dissolve the stone of your white stone and distill it down into pure residual. This would allow the bulk creation of a very powerful magical essence for use in construction, in materials that we could instill and use, apparently
Starting point is 00:59:02 for the ziggurat as well as other such things. Thus, that was my main reason for being here. We were ahead of schedule and I completed the bulk of our development weeks ago, and I no longer much of my purpose here. Ahead of schedule? I'm sorry, it caught that. Hi, by the way, I'm Keelith. We haven't really taught yet. What schedule were you trying to keep? What was the deadline? We were trying to create enough continuous acid to develop enough residuum to be used in the reconstruction of the ziggurat. Once I had developed enough of the compound to where we no longer had to create more, my purpose was complete, and I had no interest beyond that.
Starting point is 00:59:51 The rest is so rich to me. So you're telling me that somewhere in this castle there is a storage facility full of caustic acid that dissolves the very stones of this castle. Yes. I reach out and I take out my potion of acid resistance and I drink it. Okay. Mark that. She goes, yes. If you've seen the vents of greenish
Starting point is 01:00:23 fume billowing out in the garden where the distillery exhausts to. Well. Oh, boy. This is interesting. So what's... Ziggarot? What's it for? What's exactly does it do?
Starting point is 01:00:41 Hurry up. Time's time to take in here. We gotta go, we gotta fight, we gotta do things. I don't know. It has something to do with the Briarwood's interest in some third party, someone they've been working with, someone I've not met, someone who I have no interest in inquiring within, it seems. A name, a name, give us a name. I was not given a name. They don't speak of this individual's name. They're very secretive about it. They paid well, they gave me a land, they gave me a title,
Starting point is 01:01:07 and when things were done, I was to go free, which is why I was not happy in which the, uh, predicament you found me, made me. Where can we find this Ziggurat? She kind of, her eyes trailed down to the floor. The Ziggurat itself is, well, based on the tunneling structure, the distillery's direction, right beneath the city of Whitestone. The city of this castle. Oh!
Starting point is 01:01:34 City. They're gonna destroy this fucking city. Is it underneath its sun tree? No, no, no, not the distillery. Zigguron might. be? Wait, what? Oh dear. They're gonna... Yeah. Wait, what? Are they still melting down the white stone for magical energy?
Starting point is 01:01:54 No, I don't believe so. Not for weeks. We finished that process. Uh, yeah, quite a bit now. So you're done melting the white stone, but you still have a whole bunch of this acidic compound, kicking it in a warehouse somewhere. Well, not in a warehouse. That's all kept stored... stored underneath the garden of the castle. We need to finish clearing this house now. Yes. I don't know if they're even here.
Starting point is 01:02:18 We better move. Let's go. Downstairs. Downstairs. Oh boy. You're not Anders, though. Do you wish to pay him a visit? See a smile on her face.
Starting point is 01:02:29 She's trying to... Percy, she's trying to bait you. She's trying to waste time right now. Come on. Was your sister's keeper? She's trying to don't list. Percy, la la la la la la la la, Percy, come on. He's probably...
Starting point is 01:02:43 He's probably with the Briar Woods. Come on, he's not there. I'm off sitting in the shadows, but I say Percival, we need to cut off the head. Is it possible that my sister would be with him? It's very possible if she's not here. Anna? Percy.
Starting point is 01:02:56 Yes. Shut up. Very well. Percival. It's freezing in this castle. I only say because my whole... Anna, and I notch an arrow and name it right at a throat. Shut.
Starting point is 01:03:06 He's not capable of making decisions. Oh. Percy. Can't give your mouth. Where would this? Professor B. I imagine his study is around the corner. We'll check his study and then we'll go. Shut from the fucking mouth. No.
Starting point is 01:03:21 Just his study and then we'll go. Percy. Even if he's theirs, if she's not there, we'll leave. Go, lead the way. No, no. We're running out of time. Brother, run and check the study. Thank you. No, no, no. I start running towards the direction that was described. Let's go towards the under...
Starting point is 01:03:37 Very well. Very well. He'll let you know. Very well. And she... No talking. Wait, we're going down? Yeah, we're not leaving back.
Starting point is 01:03:47 She steps out... He's going to catch up. Into the... ...into the hallway. And she begins making her way towards the landing that leads to the stairway downward as you stealth off in that direction. You find a way around that corner. Go ahead and roll his perception.
Starting point is 01:04:02 As I'm moving, by the way, it's minor, but I take out Clorota's... Oh! ...mach, cap and put it on. And I also... What about this other cloak that I've been looking at and... What is that cloak? We'll both attune to you at your next short rest. Yes.
Starting point is 01:04:19 Oh, damn. Excellent. It's fine. God. Well, you've worn the Clorodas thing before? Not that there's two things. So moving forward. All right, make reception check. Yeah. That is 22.
Starting point is 01:04:34 All right. As you make your way down the hallway, you hear what sounds like a female voice from behind a distant doorway? Like a small cry in pain or worry? Do you like to stealth again or am I already stealth? You rolled stealth before this whole list. Yeah, it was like 23. So I'm going to move toward that sound.
Starting point is 01:04:58 Okay. Okay. It leads down. There are three doorways in this side of the hallway. The central door there is where you hear the noise coming from. It's true. Okay, I'm sticking my ear to the door and just, I'm going to listen for a full minute to see what I hear.
Starting point is 01:05:18 You hear a little bit of quiet and a light sobbing, and you hear another voice, a male voice, an older voice, just say, pithee, shh. You be quiet until you're told to speak. It should be close. I want to gently try the door handle. Shut the fuck out. It is not. Locked, it does turn.
Starting point is 01:05:43 I want to push it like one inch in and try to peek in. Just the tick. Don't. I'm having deja vu. No, we've been here before. You glance inside the room, and it's a nice study. And there is a fireplace on one side that is part of the continuation of a two-story, you know, a fireplace column that goes up to the castle on this side.
Starting point is 01:06:05 There are shelves of books. There is a desk in the far corner. There are a couple of chairs later around. On this side, what you can see. what you can see. And you can see kind of in the center to the back of the room is an older gentleman wearing a breastplate. You can see his very, very short gray hair, a little bit of facial hair that's grown in but not to a full beard. It looks just like it's been left to go on its own for a little while. And he's currently holding a young woman roughly early 20s or so with dark brown hair with a couple of streaks of kind of white through the sides of the temple,
Starting point is 01:06:39 holding her by her hair with a dagger to her throat. She was saying, shh, when I tell you, you'll say what I told you to say. Got it. And she just tears, she'd just down her face. She's like, I back up about five steps, and very quietly. I start running.
Starting point is 01:07:12 And I run at the door and I kick it open and throw it in. Yeah! Well, that happened. Okay. Holy shit. Well, that happened. Well, that happened. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:24 All righty. So we take off running towards him. Yeah. Here we go, Django. Fucking. Dick. Dick. It's a trap.
Starting point is 01:07:38 It's such a trap. Oh, of course. All right. So you have a surprise round. Yeah. Come on, sneak attack. Two of those individuals right there. Go ahead and make your attack.
Starting point is 01:07:55 Well, what am I looking at? Okay, so as you burst in, you can see, the man's holding, there's the desk behind him, right there. Papers and stuff scattered on there. There's some tables around with some chairs. There are these large bookshelves that kind of hold this side, and there's the fireplace in the far corner right there. Flames, warming the room. There was a small chandelier in the seat. Greetings, adventurers. Spring has sprung here in Los Angeles, and that means it's a brief period where it's only 75 degrees instead of 95 degrees.
Starting point is 01:08:22 I'll take it. And that means I've been. been outside a lot more. Walking around, occasionally galloping after a toddler hopped up on juice boxes, traveling a bit, you know the vibe. And after doing some spring cleaning, my wardrobe, I got to say, looking a little bit sad. I want clothes that can keep up with me and my son, but updating my wardrobe every spring sounds pretty expensive. So that's why I wound up signing up for Fabletics as a VIP. It let me overhaul my springtime outfits without obliterating my bank account. New VIPs unlock major savings on that first purchase, so trying new fits feels way more doable.
Starting point is 01:08:59 When I signed up as a new VIP with Fabletics, I got 70 to 80% off everything. It made it easy to grab a few new pieces without overthinking it. And the quality really surprised me. Everything feels premium and soft and breathable, but you're not paying those premium prices. What I like most, though, is how versatile everything is. You've got stuff you can work out in, but also wear out. There's matching sets, lightweight hoodies, joggers, teas, you name it. The kind of stuff you can throw on in the morning and not worry about later.
Starting point is 01:09:27 When I'm at home, my favorite thing to pull on is the oversized hoodie. It's so comfy I could just live in it 24-7. It's perfect for walking my dog on like a chilly night. But what I'm out and about, I've really been loving the ribbed Johnny Collar polo. It makes me look like I should be taking a high-powered meeting by the pool at the White Lotus, but hopefully with less murder involved. I don't know. It's insanely comfortable.
Starting point is 01:09:49 I highly recommend it. So shop now at fabletics.com slash critical role to get 70 to 80% off everything when you sign up as a new VIP. Take a quick style quiz and be sure to select Critical Role when prompted to unlock your 70 to 80% off. This is a limited time offer, so don't wait. Again, that's Fablatics.com slash Critical Role for 70 to 80% off everything as a new VIP. And now, on to the show. Greetings, adventurers. Lately, I've been getting a bit more intentional about what I wear from day to day, because instead of just falling out of whatever laundry basket,
Starting point is 01:10:25 gets nearby, I've been leaning into pieces that feel easy and comfortable, but still put together because it just makes getting dressed simpler when I have a plan. Quince has been my go-to to help with that, because the fabrics feel elevated, the fits are clean, and everything just works without me needing to overthink it. And Quintz has all the wardrobe staples you need for spring. Think 100% European linen shorts and shirts from just $34. They're lightweight, they're breathable, they're comfortable, your legs and torso will thank you, and he will still look put together. And clean, 100% Pima Cotton Tees with a softness, well, you got to feel that to believe it, believe you me. Their pants also hit that same balance. They're relaxed, they're comfortable, but still polished enough to wear basically anywhere.
Starting point is 01:11:08 And everything's priced between 50 and 80% less than what you'd find at similar brands. Quince works directly with ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen so you're getting premium materials without the markup. And since spring is here in Los Angeles, a brief period where it's 75 degrees instead of of 95 degrees, I spruced up my wardrobe with a pair of the comfort stretch traveler five pocket pants and the heritage washed denim shirt. Not only do they feel great, but I unequivocally look good as hell while wearing them. That's just science. So refresh your every day with luxury you'll actually use. Head to quince.com slash critical role for free shipping on your order and 365-day returns. Now available in Canada too. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.

Dealing that has a magical light emanating from it that kind of keeps the, give the room this kind of warm glow. You don't care right now because you're throwing a fucking dagger. Right, but he's behind her a bit, right? Yeah, he's like holding her right there with a dagger. You've got a good, fucking aim.
Starting point is 01:12:16 Well, I recently added the sharpshooter feet, so three quarter and a half cover means nothing to me. Correct. So I'm going to aim for his eye that's peeking on the side. All three are going right at his eye. Okay. The first is good! The first is 24.
Starting point is 01:12:34 That'll hit. Okay. The second is 26. As you can tell, I've been screaming monster sounds. My voice a little ragged. 26 on the second. It's like 10 on the top. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:48 16 misses. Okay. So the first one gets three plus seven is ten. plus seven is 10 plus 14, 20, 26, 29, 33, 39. That's the first one. And then the second one does four plus six is 10. Oh, but it's a prize. So the first one is doubled because it's automatically a crit. Right. Yes. All right, so what's that now? It was 39. Yeah. So now it's 67. So now it's 67. 78 for the first one. 10 for the second. I love you.
Starting point is 01:13:29 Okay. So 88 points of damage. You just went 80 miles per hour in your first round. As you kick the doors open, the first dagger, he sees it coming towards him for a second, and he tends to dodge out of the way, and as he moves this eye out of the way, the dagger right into the other slot, and he screams out in pain as it just plunges into his eye socket. Not deep enough to actually hit any brain, but enough to definitely take that eye out. as any sort of viable method. The second one just hits him in the shoulder, and reaction to that, Cassandra screams out,
Starting point is 01:14:03 no! Ron, it's a trap! No. At which point, he takes his dagger and just runs it across her throat. I don't think it's her. It's not right. It's her.
Starting point is 01:14:13 You just see crimson begin to pour down the furniture. Oh, shit. Go ahead and all initiative. All right. I'm going to do luck. Yeah. That's a 20. Why would you be saying it's a trap if it's not heard?
Starting point is 01:14:30 It could be a peasant. Oh, all right. Okay. So, you're going first? Yeah. Also, at this point, as you throw the dagger, you're still in there at the doorway, and you hear what sounds like two sources of metal clinking together. You can't really, you can't see a source, but you hear other sounds in the room.
Starting point is 01:14:55 What are you doing with your action? I am running at him and stabbing the shit out of him. Okay. As you cross this boundary, I need you to go ahead and immediately make a Constitution saving throw. Okay. I'll use luck again. Yeah. That's two lucks. That's 17th the Constitution saving throw. Great. All right. So as you step across the threshold of the room, the tile in front of you all of a sudden bursts in a flash of blue, painfully cold energy, like there's a concentrated moment of shredding ice. You can. Technically. So if I succeed, I take no damage. Correct. Okay. So you take no damage. You dart across, just managing to use that momentum in your intensity towards this horrible moment that just happened before you.
Starting point is 01:15:54 And you feel the explosion happened behind you. You just managed to pass beyond. So you rush forward to him. Yeah. All right. And he's like dropped her to the ground now. She's fallen under her hands and knees. So she's still alive. I'm going into his guts.
Starting point is 01:16:09 Okay. So first attack is a 25. Second attack is a 20, and the third attack is a 26. Yeah. One, two, three. One, two, three. Oh, and I'm going to turn the poison on for the poison dag, which I'm going to use with the second.
Starting point is 01:16:26 Just flip the little switch. Well, it just drips. It's like a pencil mechanical pencil. So nine for the first. Two or six is eight for the second, plus the poison is Ash, I don't copy it down here. I think it's 1D12. Let's say it's 1D12 because I can't remember.
Starting point is 01:16:46 If anyone wants to correct me, they can. Five points of poison added to the five is 13. And then the last dagger is three plus is nine. Okay, so as you rush up to him and just like shank him repeatedly in the sides, you get the breast plates deflecting part of the blow, but you're making sure to find openings in the side, and you go for a shoulder and jam it underneath his arm, like through his rib cage, and he screams out, in pain. You can see him, there's like blood pouring outside of his mouth. And he still has, the dagger's return now, but there's this giant gaping, bleeding wound on the side of his face where one of his eyes completely ruined. He looks both surprised, angered, and very, very confused about the way things suddenly.
Starting point is 01:17:27 happened. Hello. All right, so that's your turn? I'm out. Okay, he's going to go. God, damn. We're six seconds in. Right.
Starting point is 01:17:46 First off, the two, there were two sets of armor, decorative armor on the sides of the wall that suddenly have filled with some sort of reddish archaen energy that gives them a solid physical form and they both stepped off their pedestals and begin making their way towards you. But before all that had been filled with some sort of reddish archaic energy that gives them a solid physical form and they both stepped off their pedestals and begin making their way towards you. But before all that, but before all that have it happens, Professor Anders in front of you, wounded and not looking terribly happy at the moment, is going to use his action to attempt to cast confusion on you. So he goes to step back and just release his hand in front of you as one functioning eye forward as he screams out. You can deal the pressure towards your head. Go ahead and make a wisdom saving throw. Which I have advantage because of that.
Starting point is 01:18:34 We have a wisdom saving throw because of that anyway. Eight. So that is a 20. A 20? The effect shrugs off. Nothing on you. He is going to attempt to step back. Oh, attack. I'll hit him. Yeah, you take an opportunity on it. Yeah. There's a 20. No, it's 22. 22. Okay, that does it. Okay. Eight.
Starting point is 01:18:56 Okay. He will use his bonus action, and he kind of, uh, I think I think I think I'm going to fast. Okay. Takes a bonus action, and he steps back. Come, take this inspiration to defeat my foe. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh.
Starting point is 01:19:20 He lends an inspiration to one of the armored creatures stepping forward towards you. Now, their tune, both these armored creatures pull out swords, and they lift up the shields that they had at their side, and they rush into you. You know that one is. From the two sides right there. They're both kind of, you see, they're rush up to you, they're not really touching the ground. They're kind of gliding across it.
Starting point is 01:19:47 So the first one is going to attempt to strike you with two of attacks of its long sword. That is a 14. No. The second one is a 17. No. All right. The second one now is going to go ahead and take two swings at you.
Starting point is 01:20:04 That is a 18? Yeah, but I'll use Uncandid Dodge. To reduce the damage by half? Yeah. Okay. So the first strike hits you for 13 points of slashing damage? So half that, half that or all of that? That'd be half that. Half that, okay, I'll say seven.
Starting point is 01:20:22 There you go. And then, oh, that's going to be a 24 to hit. That hits, yeah. And this is not halved, this, oh, okay, that's 12 points of slashing damage. Okay. Okay. Now to Cassandra's turn, she is on the ground, like kind of clutching out as she's just spilling out her life as intense into the ground. She's clutching at her throat and is like, you're that horrible sucking sign of her, feeling her life drained from her. She's
Starting point is 01:20:57 going to, she is not unconscious, but she doesn't have long for this world. All right, that brings to the top of the round. The rest of you guys are now rushing. I assume dash motion your way as fast as you can to that side. Due to distance, you would all get to the end of this hallway. About there, we'll say... Is that including sprint? Well, the dash action, yeah. That's the full dash. This is your movement and then dash actually, because you guys were down in this area heading down the stairs, and you just made it up and over. And this is Ripley. We'll use that for Ripley for now. So, Everyone else will initiative?
Starting point is 01:21:45 We're her new combat round. What the hell? Farrell, Percy's pissed! Natural to me. I proceed again. He proceeded. Who got him that dice?
Starting point is 01:21:58 Thank you. Just saying. Thank you. No, I was on group hug last week with somebody else's dice, and it was just, it was comedy. It's just you, Talison. Yeah, thank you. Thank you. You are the Antietin.
Starting point is 01:22:12 I'm the anti-Waton. If you guys were to play in the same group, like all RPGs would fold into themselves and no longer exist. It's like the end of time cough. It would be terrible. Okay, so initiatives we have 25 to 20? 28. 28. 21. You remember your advantage for them?
Starting point is 01:22:29 That's right. That was the second role. Alright, so the person is it. Barrel instinct. All right. And you were at your initiative was 28? I know. I don't remember 20. It was 20, early 20s.
Starting point is 01:22:41 Early 20s, yeah. So it would be crazy. Vax. Ow! 20 to 15? 13. 19. Oh, wait, sorry.
Starting point is 01:22:51 Might jump the gun on bit there. I'm excited. Sorry. I'm bringing up the ranks anywhere I still think. Kieleth. All right. Vax, what did you get? 11.
Starting point is 01:23:15 11? I'm Vax. I said Vax. I said Vex. I'm going to write this time. Oh, you're from California. Yeah. I'm from Florida.
Starting point is 01:23:26 All right. And you're back. All right. So first, you're up first. The backs and backs. Can I drag Ripley with me? You can be a moving half movement. Maybe you would be.
Starting point is 01:23:44 So as my bonus action before anything happens, I'm... Knock her out. Punch her in the fucking face. I'm going to tell her, she lives. You show us a story. where the entrance to the caverns are, you walk with your things, and run. All right. She was trying to set us up in this trap. Oh yes, she's all about this
Starting point is 01:24:05 fucking shit. I, full movement? Full movement. Okay, that's your full turn there. All right, that ends your turn for the... She's not going to leave without her shit. I have one healing potion left and I'm going to take it in, stick it into this girl's mouth and empty it and maybe drip a little on her neck as well. Okay, go for it. Maybe you hold her neck picture. I have to roll the heat. I have to roll, to get it to you. She's like, you pull back and it's this,
Starting point is 01:24:32 it's a really unsettling thing as you pull up her head to try and feed her the potion. Go ahead and... It's 2D4, what is it? Is this a regular healing potion? Yeah, it's the lowest of the road. Yeah, that'd be... Moderate, I think it's called moderate.
Starting point is 01:24:46 Sorry, I'm right here. That's 2D4 plus 2. It's 4, a 6. It's very handled. It's very quickly. And then I want to step in front of her. between her and that one and then stab the one. Okay, as you take the potion, it's a messy process.
Starting point is 01:25:04 You get most of the interest, a bit like drips in the ground, but you manage to get it, the wound seems to close, all the blood kind of just goes away on the ground of her neck from the splashing of the potion, just vanished entirely and you can see she kind of, ah, that's good. She's right on the edge, but she's looking pretty rough. So is that the bonus action or is that the action?
Starting point is 01:25:24 That was your action. Action. Okay, so then, by the way, I'm realizing I didn't click my boots. So I did like one, two, three before, and the third one missed, so luckily that worked out. But I've only got, I'm not clicking this. Thank you for the reminder. So I used to dagger, dagger, I'm like, wait, no. So I just stepped between them and that's all I can do, yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:43 Okay, so you move into there. Great. That's your turn. No, I mean between her and the closest one to her. Oh, yeah, we've got this new thing now. That's so much, that's so much better. It's kind of hard. For those who don't know, we have the top-down camera for the players, which is really helpful for them to do them.
Starting point is 01:26:00 What's going on? I was hoping to stand in front of a, yeah. So you kind of like push her aside and get in between the two. Cool, that ends your turn. Grog, you're up. That sprint after Percy. Okay, and your speed is. 50.
Starting point is 01:26:13 Goose, goose, goose, goose, thump, thump, thump, thump, thump, thump. Whoa! Yeah! Wow! You can get it, so! You can get all the way up in the here, but that's all you can do this turn. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:29 You just, you're bounding down the hall. You kind of push past Percy and just rush in the room, and you see a young girl on the ground, and doubled over, barely conscious. You see Vax stepping in front of one of these weird, glowing, armored creatures. In the back of the room, there's a man with bleeding, gaping eye socket.
Starting point is 01:26:51 What the fuck did you do? Welcome to the party. All right, Scanlan, you're up. I'm up. I run as fast as my little. legs will take me. It's 25. There we go. And then I can't see them.
Starting point is 01:27:07 So I'll just inspire. Who's going to get in there? Who's behind me? Kielith and Can I actually inspire people that I can't see? I think it's being in your site. You can see me. I can.
Starting point is 01:27:24 Whether or not you actually want to inspire me at this point is definitely available. I can't inspire somebody else in the hallway, if you'd like. That's true. All right. They can't even make it in the next turn, right? No, but I mean, we'll keep it. Sure.
Starting point is 01:27:39 I will inspire Vex behind me. And I'll say, arrows and bows they fire They fire out of foes and kill them, and they make them ghosts. They won't let go, arrows and bows. As the beat hits you, you feel yourself a little shit. That's a shot in any areas you seem to freak. Nice.
Starting point is 01:28:15 Take your D10 inspiration. Hi. Tadda-da-da-da- dun-d-d-da. Let's go. P. All righty. So that brings us to All right. Professor Anders now is taking his turn. Professor Anders. He is going to...
Starting point is 01:28:37 Professor Anders. Mr. Anders. Mr. Anders. He sees this giant creature in the room kind of loom in and he goes, and reach something kind of closest when I goes, You do this for me. And as he looks at you for a second, he kind of releases another spell, and you feel a familiar arcane grasp begin to curl over the back of your mind.
Starting point is 01:29:02 Go ahead and roll a wisdom saving throw with advantage because of your hero's feast. Okay. Fourteen. Fourteen. Your brain, not tempered against these type of magics and having previously failure before, you feel your will no longer become your own, as now you are an instrument of destruction controlled by by one Professor Anders. You've been dominated.
Starting point is 01:29:29 Damn it. Fuck! Oh no. Dominate Goliath. We gotta kill that, motherfucker. Okay. You basically tell it. It looks to you and goes,
Starting point is 01:29:44 Kill that one. And points to Vax. And you look down at Vax with a grin, as now the bloodletting you've wanted so bad, your target lies before you. Hulk versus Wolverine! And he enters his turn. Remember what he did to your beard.
Starting point is 01:30:00 This one moves over this side. Is it vagraning or is it dominating? It moves to here. Holt versus Wolverine, man. I'm excited by that. That's good. Moved and shipped around now at this moment to get on each sides of you, giving them both a flanking bonus.
Starting point is 01:30:16 Now it's four strikes long sort against you with advantage. Double aides, can't roll. Why advantage? I'm just curious. Give it to me. the advantage from. They have advantage against you because they move into a flanking position. Because they're in flanking, got it.
Starting point is 01:30:30 Which for those that are curious about it, it is an optional rule in the DMG. It exists. Second attack with advantage. Three and a four. Can't roll. Wow. Whiffs with both of his weapon strikes. This is armor not as cool as you think.
Starting point is 01:30:44 Are you sucking his energy? I have your power. Natural 20 on the next strike. You fucking spoke too soon. Two natural 20s. Oh, damn it! It was a miss and a natural 20 on a natural 20 on. We missed and a natural 20 on the first attack, and the Netschip 20 on the advantage first
Starting point is 01:30:58 roll the side attack. No. I'm sorry. Spoke too soon. So you take, on the first hit, make fate. Fate punches you in the mouth. Coffee. That would be 16 points of slashing damage.
Starting point is 01:31:12 And 20 points of slashing damage with a second strike. So a total of 36 points of slashing damage. And you can feel like this strange, angry, vibrating growl coming from within this kind of unhallowed armor that floats before you. That ends there go. Kila, you're up. I'm running like hell. Very simple. Runny, runny, runny, running. Can I get, can I see? Can I peek around the corner just to see? You can just peek around the corner and see the circumstance. Can I see Cassandra? You do, yes.
Starting point is 01:31:40 Healing word. Okay, go ahead and move. Do you know it's her? Yeah. Either way, whoever it is. Do we know what she looks like? Just do what you're going to do. Just do it. Healing word. Family resemblance. Family resemblance.
Starting point is 01:31:52 Family resemblance. I'd say given the circumstances you have. have an inkling that someone's in danger there in the clang of Djanga. So go for it. I'll cast it. No, I'm just going to keep it at a first level for now. I'm going to save my higher level ones for legit cure wounds. Good. So I'm just going to cast it at first level, so that's one. Oh, did you move one before? That's my spot cast.
Starting point is 01:32:20 Three, that's not too bad, plus six, or no, plus my, sorry, so it was 60. So, six, six, 16? No, sorry, 13? 13. 13? Okay. I didn't know. All right. That's your turn. Vexo. So I'm with Anna. Mm-hmm. Shrink it. I tell him to hold on to her and drag her along with us. Okay. So he clamps down on her arm. Step one, two. It's an attempt to grapple her. Go ahead and roll an athletics check with advantage because she's not expecting it. 16? Okay.
Starting point is 01:32:58 Trinket grabs onto the scruff of her coat. Immigants pushing forward. They both get the rest of his movement as he's forcing her forward. That's as far as I can get it. But I can keep running. I can run all the way up. Is your speed? Is it 30? 30. You get about there, right at the edge. So I can shoot an arrow?
Starting point is 01:33:20 No, that's your movement and then your dash. Oh, okay, cool. Then I'm just, hey. All right. Ripley is just going to kind of kind of stay put for the time being. Damn it. She's held by a bear and being pushed along. She's just kind of like, ah.
Starting point is 01:33:37 No weapons. Yeah, no weapon. No armor. Leather armor, basically. Did we chain her to the bear? No. The bear is on or not. She's sunken into his arm.
Starting point is 01:33:46 I'm going to run in. I can move six, right? You can move six squares, yes. One and two. Can I get a good view of Professor Anders and maybe get a little kind of from the dining room table? You can a little bit, yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:05 All right. I'll take my cover. I'm going to pull out. As you walk in, you look at the corner, you can see these. He's armor tagging grog, as Axe Ford. These are these two armored entities kind of floating in the air. You see Andrews in the corner clutching hand over one eye
Starting point is 01:34:16 with blood streak on the face, and every wound's bleeding out from the armor. Already been a rough take for him, and your eyes slows down for the first time in a long time. You see on the ground before you kind of clutching her throat, no wound or blood splatter, but clutching her throat and kind of breathing heavily, heavily your sister Cassandra. And you look back up at Anders and you feel the burning rage
Starting point is 01:34:41 being to billow up inside you. And as you walk in the room towards the center of the table, you guys who see this, we're able to see the room you see now from outside of his sleeves, outside from under his coat, there's just blackish purple smoke beginning to just billow out from behind. Does it seem more extreme than it has been in the past? It seemed pretty extreme in the past, you just started, you don't know. Go for it. I pull off my hat of disguise, drop it on the floor. Okay. And I'm going to just unload at that motherfucker. As you pull off the hat, your image shifts to Percy, at which point. Anders kind of
Starting point is 01:35:22 looks back and sees this source of smoke and glances over. His hand falls away, as a moment reveals his eye goes wide. Percy. Shot one. All right. Oh, for the love of God. Oh, when it counts. Oh. Pugh!
Starting point is 01:35:44 Uh-huh. So, anger and frustration, the rage inside as you pull up your gun, and as you go to fire, the bullet gets caught in the chamber, and it almost ejects the entire barrel from the front of it. It's not too difficult to repair, but it definitely upsets the current flow.
Starting point is 01:36:01 I'm going to attempt to repair it really quickly. I'm trying to remember how to do that, because I hate it. T.C. equals 10 plus firearm, misfire score. So is it an action or is it an attack to? Should say under the... Action, shit. Yeah, so you have to use your next turn to try and repair it. So I'm just going to sit and scream a little bit.
Starting point is 01:36:29 And I'm going, so. Okay, you can see that this whole, this, this, moment here as the smoke pours out from the front of the gun, you yell out angrily and there is this kind of unnatural bassy reverb from your screen that shakes the room. And Anders actually takes a step back from this and just looking about the room and finds himself basically trapped in the far corner of his study. Oh, you better not. That ends your turn. It's my turn. Max. I'm going to use Disengage. And I'm going to hop over Cassandra.
Starting point is 01:37:06 towards Anders and stab him in the other eye. Okay. First attack's 21. That hits. Second attack is 17. That hits. 10 on the first. 10 on the second.
Starting point is 01:37:28 Okay. Let's make concentration checks to see if you can maintain his dominate. Against 10 damage. That succeeds. And yeah, that succeeds. So he maintains concentration on the spell. But both daggers, you know, you run up and just gonna stab him, this angry grunt under your breath with each stab, and you can feel like the armor itself is now warm with the pulling blood from the wounds that you gave him before.
Starting point is 01:37:48 He's looking pretty rough. Is that a question? I asked if I could hit the eye. Did I hit the eye? Unfortunately, no. It's one of those things where a sneak attack would be like an eye shot, right, this one. You go and try and stab towards the eye, and he pulls away, you kind of know that's coming and use that inertia to then jam it into his side and then stab a second.
Starting point is 01:38:08 time in there. So yeah, no purchase in the eye, unfortunately. Okay. I'm squared off, right in front of him. Yeah, just right in front of him. Then ends your turn. Brog. So when you're dominated, is that being charmed? Essentially, you have to follow his orders. He's not directly, like specifically controlling you right now, but he told you you attack him. So you have to use all the things at your disposal to now attack him. Bring it. Okay. I can't try and break the domination or range.
Starting point is 01:38:36 No. You get a saving throw at the end of your turn. at the end of your turn. I'm not raging. You're not raging. So I only get two. That's good. That was good. You step over Cassandra, kind of stepping on the back of her leg and find your way right there,
Starting point is 01:38:50 which is flanking him between Anders. So you have advantage on both of your attacks. That's good. That's good. 21. Yeah. Second attack? 26.
Starting point is 01:39:09 Both hit. Go ahead and roll damage. I'm really trying not to enjoy this. With your flaming war hammer. I hate you. You're a terrible person. 18 for the first one. Some points of slashing damage.
Starting point is 01:39:26 No, so bludgeon damage for the engine. Fire on top of that. And fire. I'll wait till after this. I'll take one. 21. 21 points bludgeoning and fire damage for the second strike. I am on my feet, but I am swaying back and forth.
Starting point is 01:39:42 Unexpectedly, these two Titanic slam to hit you from behind. The first one throws you into Anders for a second. Anders then pushes you away, and as you kind of are still reeling from the impact, you look up and see the hammer come down, you move your head at the time, guarantee anything from being squished, but the impact hits your shoulder and the side of your neck, and your whole body crumples into itself. You cry out in pain instinctively, just a-from-the-hit, and your whole world kind of blurs for a second as you're barely keeping yourself on your feet. Grab that ends your turn, you can make another saving throw at the advantage to try and shrug the effect. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:14 At wisdom, right? Yes. 19. 19. With that, the momentary control bloodshed fades. Your mind becomes your own. And what little bit of remorse you may feel for the battered facts in front of you, you can't help but laugh a little bit.
Starting point is 01:40:32 But then you turn your attention to the one who bent your will and your rage begins to swell up inside you. So that ends your turn. Scanlan, you're up. I continue my long journey into the room. Just get past there, and you can see into the room, you have visual on, yeah, pretty much everything in the room from there. I have to make a ranged shot if I'm to do anything. Correct, yeah. What do I see? Can I see how rough Vax is? Can I see...
Starting point is 01:40:59 At a glance, it's kind of hard to tell from this moment. I'm bleeding out my mouth. He's also facing away from you. Looks normal to me. You see walking back, facing off the guy in the corner, you see two of these large armored entities. Okay, I'll go for them. Okay. of magic missiles, and I'll shoot three at the one at the left. That's the first charge,
Starting point is 01:41:21 and then use three additional charges on the one at the right. How many charges were restored in the wand from your last long rest? When we, I roll every day, and I restored five, and I had used five, and so it's back to normal. So I have seven total. So you're casting three on one and then... An additional three on the other. Okay, go for it. So that's 3D4 plus three to each one. Go for it. Right. 3D4. Okay. Four.
Starting point is 01:41:45 Releasing the one in both flicks of your wrist. You can see these bursts of archa energy swirl around and slam into each one of these creatures. 3D4 plus three? Is that right? Is that how it works, man? Yes. Okay. So five, so that's eight. Lame. And nine.
Starting point is 01:42:02 No, wait, two, two, two. Yes, nine. Nine. Okay. All right. The impact, each of the armor kind of shake for a second. and look angered and frustrated for what a faceless kind of arcane entity within armor could, and both heads just go shh, and look in your direction simultaneously.
Starting point is 01:42:24 That ends your turn. Oh, and I will inspire Grog. This is the dawning of the age of a grogias. The age of a groggyos. A grogios. A grogios. Ten? The words are lost on you, but it's a nice theme.
Starting point is 01:42:43 You take D10, yeah. Not quite my jam, but I'll still take him. All right, that ends your turn. Anders, now frustrated by the whole circumstance on the cusp of a really, really bad circumstance is going to attempt to cast Dimension Door. I knew it. I knew that's going to do that. Is this the same? Do I get an attack of a reaction attack? Not unless you have, there's a feat that you do that. No.
Starting point is 01:43:14 Yeah, she think it's a mage slayer. You don't have that. I don't have that. Okay. All right. Do I see him? Do you see him? Do you have counterspell?
Starting point is 01:43:23 I take out my broken sham and I cast counterspell on him. Right, because you took that with your last. That's right. All right. Oh, Lord Bard's. Shit. Get away. Lord Bard's.
Starting point is 01:43:40 Shit. All right. I have to tell a level, don't I? Yeah, you can tell me what level. It can be based on it. Do I know, because he's a bard, what he's doing? You know, you're very familiar with the spell, and it is a fourth level spell.
Starting point is 01:43:53 Then I cast it at fourth level. Okay, then there is no role. With that, he takes a moment to finish casting. You see there's a moment where this bit of purple arcane energy, familiar to most of you, as Scalind's escapes, begins to sparkle behind them, and as he goes to step into it, the shawm streaks out in the room, he kind of reaches up and covers his,
Starting point is 01:44:12 as it almost seems to like be shrill to his head and cause the pain to pulse and the doorway just slams behind him and he's, uh-huh. That door is locked, motherfucker. Get used to it, because I am. Yeah, that's his turn. Yes! That was his action. No, he's going to use a bonus action instead.
Starting point is 01:44:36 I can say like, come to my age, quickly! He's going to put another inspiration die to the other armor. And that's going to end his turn. It's now their turn. They are both going to come around. This one's just going to move around Grog. No attack opportunity because it's still in your melee. This one's going to step into, from over here. This one is going to turn and go for Percy. See, as you're stuck there trying to fix the gun, and she's just rushing towards you with the shield forward. It's like a horrible, jagged long sword in the air arcing towards you. Two strikes versus you. This is you. That will be a 19. That hits.
Starting point is 01:45:23 Okay. First strike you take, that is nine points of slashing down. So you go down. Second strike, because it's still going for you. It hits automatically, it's an autocratic. You fail to death saving throws. That's it. That ends its turn. This one is not going for you, Percy. First strike, That would be a nine. No. It's going to use its inspiration die. To add nine to that, it's 18.
Starting point is 01:46:01 18? That's my armor class. Bards! Sorry, I don't get to use them very often. So that is 11 points of slashing damage. And the other strike, oh, that's a natural 18. So yeah, that will be cocked. Oh, only 8 points slashing damage.
Starting point is 01:46:22 So 19 points of slashing the average total? And it's, you know, it's painful, but not a huge thing about it at this point. You're so focused right now on the weapon. All right, that ends there. It's their turn. Keela Thier up. Okay, can I see Vax down? Which one is he on the ground?
Starting point is 01:46:39 Vax is right there. You just see him get slashed from behind, fall to the ground, and you see it raise a blade again and, like, jam it into his torso, pull it out, and there's a streak of blood that just spatters across the ceiling from the force of the ark. Yeah, yeah, I think you saw that. Okay, so I'm gonna move around just kind of right, kind of tuck in the door bit. Okay, so you move in and you see this. As you rush into the room, you see this arc happening. Can I kind of tuck like kind of right here? God, I'm shaking. Yeah, right behind that door.
Starting point is 01:47:11 Right there? Yeah, that'll be pretty much your movement to get there. Okay, I'm gonna duck down, kind of crouch on the floor. I'm gonna cast, first I'm going to, God, I'm so nervous, I'm going to, I'm going to, to use healing word on Vax and heal that motherfucker. And you're like down, down. He's down. Unconscious. And just the rules, so like two, there wasn't even any roles for that, right?
Starting point is 01:47:38 If you're unconscious and a creature hits you, you automatically fail a death saving throw because if it's a critical hit, which if you're unconscious, a hit is an automatic critical, it's technically two debt saving throws. And just to understand, you can't understand, you can tell me the break, well, then where do the three roles come in? If you ever, if when it comes to your turn, or nobody hits you, yeah, nobody hits you and it's your turn, then you roll to see if you go down. But if something keeps hitting it while you're down, you can kill you pretty quick. Got it, got, got, got it.
Starting point is 01:47:59 Like two hits. Mm-hmm. But he's just at zero hit points, so whatever I bring, will bring him over, correct? Yeah, and your done saves go away. It's only, it's per turn, pretend you go down. Okay, I'm just gonna do, I'm sorry, a level one, healing word right now.
Starting point is 01:48:14 Okay. What you mean to do. Yes, which gives you 12 hit points. hit points, and then I'm going to use my bonus action to cast grasping pine. Okay. And I am going to take the vine, and I'm going to wrap it around. Huh? Which source?
Starting point is 01:48:31 Next to me. Okay. So like right here? I guess, yes. Okay. So out of the wood of vine, kind of, or it's not wood, actually, this would be a stone wall. So out of a crack in the wall, a little bit of material that forms to form into a giant vine that forms next to you. What are you doing with it? I want to wrap it around Cassandra's feet.
Starting point is 01:48:49 Cassandra's feet, like her ankle, and I want to pull her toward me. You pull her over to the side, and she kind of gets pulled across the ground, and she's like on her back now looking up. Her eyes are a little starry-eyed, but she's like, looks very confused, and is like her eyes are still adjusting to the whole circumstance. And I say, hi, just hang on. And that's my turn. Yep. All right. Zax, you're up. Okay, so I saw him go down. Yes. Does it look like he's awake now to me? I mean, It's all happening very quickly. You have no idea.
Starting point is 01:49:19 This happens very quickly, and you just saw your brother get... I scream and I run towards him. Okay. I, like, slide down on my knees and, like, slide across the room and try to, like, cast healing words the minute, or cast cure wounds the minute I get to me. You won't get close enough to do it, unfortunately. If I slide down and slide. Make an acrobatics check.
Starting point is 01:49:38 I'll further the circumstance, due to the circumstances with your brother being on the ground, and I'll let this be a little more intense. Oh, God. It's like... With inspiration, that is... One more. Wait, hold on. Acrobatics?
Starting point is 01:49:55 Yeah. Oh, that's good. That's good. Eighths and seven. Seventeen. All right. With that, you rush forward. Just seeing this tunnel vision image of Vax on the ground,
Starting point is 01:50:04 blood pulling under his form, you dart forward, slam on your knees, and begin preparing the spell as you skid across the stone floor of the study. You reach out in your hands, meet his form, kind of stop meeting you in the process, just as the surge of healing and gults through his body so you can go ahead and cast that on him. Okay. So I'm going to cast that at third level. That's 3D8.
Starting point is 01:50:28 But all more D8s. That was the worst roll! Nine! So you're heel nine hit points. That's good. It's okay because I slid to you. That's what my... was amazing. I'll never forget it. All right.
Starting point is 01:50:49 Okay. That's your turn? Yeah, and Trinket keeps dragging her. Firm forward? Okay. That ends your turn. Alright. Go ahead and roll an athletics check for Trinketton. Hold on the video.
Starting point is 01:51:11 Right, right, right, okay. I'm just going to count even though it slipped out of my hand. Seven, it's eight. Eight. Okay. Trinket holding on to the scruff of Ripley's neck, Ripley then tugs away from the grip, reaches into the pouches he had earlier, as a bonus action throws down a small rock that fills this entire
Starting point is 01:51:43 tunnel here with a 20 by 20 fog cloud apparently. And now she's disdage, she's going to one, she's smoke bombed out. She ain't got no weapons. Nope. Why don't you get that rough? Trinket does get attack opportunity on her. She runs past. Yeah, Trinket does. Come on, Trinket. All right.
Starting point is 01:52:06 He's gonna bite her. Can he cannonball her as an attack moment? No, unfortunately. No, not so much. No, sorry. Nine, all right. Oh, wait. Oh, no, I've got to roll for attack first, huh?
Starting point is 01:52:26 Yeah. Yeah, she rolled up. That was not what I was doing. So that's 21. That hits, yeah. Okay, good, that's way better. She has no armor. Wait, oh, I don't know what I'm doing.
Starting point is 01:52:38 What is going on? I never attacked Trinket. Oh, that's it. 13. Okay, got it. Cautionary tail in there somewhere. She runs past, Trinket is currently now. The whole area is obscured for Trinket. For the moment, really has no idea really where she went
Starting point is 01:52:52 as she rushed past and bit out in there. And it's like now giving out this Mnuchin'i! This kind of notification growl sound. But in the chaos right now, It's not catching your attention as your brother nearly died before you. All right, that ends her turn. Percy, you're up. I'm going to break. First off, I'm going to fix my gun.
Starting point is 01:53:11 Okay. So go ahead and make your roll? I'm going to make my roll. Come on. Where do I have to roll? It's your tool ability check. Difficulty equals 10 plus 100. I hit the difficulty. Does that mean? You hit it, then yeah. So as you sit there with a creature lemming, you reached down and you managed to bend it back into place. You get it aligned as best as you can.
Starting point is 01:53:39 If that had been a slightly bigger fuck-up, that would have been, oh god. Okay. So your gun's functional, but that's your action. I'm going to use an action surge anyway, so it doesn't matter. Yes, you are. Okay. I'm going to break off from this guy, and I'm going to rush towards Professor. Okay, get some attack of our picture. Go ahead. Don't care.
Starting point is 01:54:01 That's a 14. Yeah. So you just, you duck under it, like it instinctually comes towards you, you just eyes forward, duck underneath the blade. I push him in the face, I don't care. You get right up to there and you can see, and there's not like backing away as you approach. I'm going to unload in him.
Starting point is 01:54:15 Go for it. That's 21 to hit. That hits. That's 25 to hit. That hits. That's natural 20. There is Percy. What the fuck.
Starting point is 01:54:32 So. Anti-Weeton. Anti-Weetton. That's, okay, let's see. That's 11. Okay. 14. Ready. And this is the critical.
Starting point is 01:54:53 Yep, this is the critical, which is a 7, 14, 14, 15, something, 20 with fire damage. Okay. How do you do this? Yeah! How close to him do I get? Couldn't be more perfect with that. Perfect with that. God bothered him.
Starting point is 01:55:10 You were... And this was out without smoke damage, I might add. You can get one more step up there. You can take the shots as you're stepping towards him, like unloading. Oh yeah, I'm unloading as I walk towards him. So the first one like, blast out the shoulder. You can see the bone kind of exposed. The metal breastplate just sundered by the bullet.
Starting point is 01:55:26 As you kind of backs him, as you're walking towards him, he begins shouting under his best. Percis, you'll disappoint us all. All they had to do was die like a... to do was die like a good Dorolo. Traitor. And I'm gonna, I've got two more shots. Next shot. This one, psh, into his chest, and you can see the actual breastplate that bends inward to the wound and he spitting out blood from his mouth as he bends forward. This land is a greater destiny. You and that fool Ripley, you place your faith in toys and dust. You seek the transient truths. I
Starting point is 01:56:06 I pull the... How close am I at this point? You're stepping up to him. Perfect. And as you're doing this, as you pull the mask down in front of you... I pull the mask down. He says... I die to rise again.
Starting point is 01:56:18 We are his blood. I put my gun in his mouth to shut him the fuck up. You're the face I saw when murder entered my heart. This is your doing. And I pull the trigger. With that, a resounding blast.
Starting point is 01:56:33 It goes to the room. The back of his head just scatters across the wall behind them. The top of his head kind of folds in a little bit from the now lack of a substantial base, and he just kind of tumbles backward, releasing the gun with a limp under the ground behind. You're still holding the pepper box in front of you, hands shaking. As you hold it there looking at it, you can see there's a flash of purple energy across the barrel that has Anders name across it, and the name burns away, leaving the barrel blank. Smoke begins to subside a little bit. It's still there, but it seems like the moment
Starting point is 01:57:12 it has this kind of release aspect to it. That's my turn. Yeah, that is a turn. Vax, you're up. How close are the suits of armor to me? I can't tell. There's one over here and there's one, technically it's right next to you. Right next to me. And am I still prone? You're still prone. So how much movement does it take? Half your movement. Half my movement? Don't get in an attack of up. No, I'm gonna get up, and I'm gonna use Disengage. Is it a bonus action? Okay. Yeah, and I'm gonna skip back into the corner, and at this point I can throw one dagger at that suit of armor.
Starting point is 01:57:47 So I'm gonna do that. Yes, you can. Yeah. That is 19. That hits? I have no voice left. That is a 11. 11 points of damage?
Starting point is 01:58:00 All right. Great. Okay. That, let's see here now. That ends your turn. I have the list on here. All right, Grog, you're up. Am I flanked by two suits of armor or just one?
Starting point is 01:58:25 No, there's just one right next to you. I'll turn to him and rage. Okay, regular rage. Regular range. Yeah, okay. And swing away. Go for it. Classic rage, good old classic rage.
Starting point is 01:58:36 14. 14 hits. Nice. And 25. Both hit, yeah. Both hit, yeah. Not just two. Thought rate?
Starting point is 01:58:46 I believe I have. Friends are three. Mm-hmm. Um, 17 with the fire damage. Okay. Okay. Okay. Cool.
Starting point is 01:59:06 So as you slam your hammer twice, and you're the armor dents and burst, and you can see now the energy, it's holding it together, is flickering almost like the archa entity that resides within it is having a hard time keeping itself in the physical for me. All right, that ends your turn, unless you want to move or do anything else. All right. Did you hit? Scanlan, you're up. Yeah, twice. Oh, okay. Oh, me?
Starting point is 01:59:29 Oh, man, I can't do anything against these fuckers. Yes, you can't. Go scatman. Short halt. Believe. All right, I'll enter the room, I suppose. Okay. Well, just a little. Right there? All right. Just a tip. Just the tip. And, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit.
Starting point is 01:59:49 Don't want to waste anything on these fuckers. Okay, let's see here. I'll just do... I've got to be closer to the . All right, I'll run up actually a little bit closer to the dude, to the guy closest to me. Okay, you'll get an amelia with him if you do. Well then, what does that mean? It's meaning if you would be arranged attack or a spell attack roll,
Starting point is 02:00:11 you would have disadvantage on it, but otherwise it has no effect. He can attack you, though, because he's right next to you. It won't be for long. Okay. So I get up close to like five feet away, and then I'll just thunder wave him. Okay. I do like that thing where frat boys do like the chest bump. Like come at me bro?
Starting point is 02:00:30 Yeah. Ooh! Oh! All righty. Not much. All righty, that's a... It's just like 2D8. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 02:00:45 Roll 2-8s. Is this the first level thunder wave? I believe it is, yes. Yes. So it makes a Constitution saving throw. No, I rolled a natural four. So it takes 2D8 thunder damage, and he's pushed over the table and like tumbles over and then would fall over if it wasn't now drifting above the ground a few inches.
Starting point is 02:01:05 It kind of writes itself, but it did push it away from you. So roll 2D8 damage? I did. It's only nine points of damage. Nine points of thunder damage against that helmed creature. All right. That brings us to their turn. So this creature you just slammed into is going to rush back to.
Starting point is 02:01:21 towards you. This one's going to turn and attack you Grog. Two strikes against you. That is a 15. This is. Sorry, 25. It's a 19, actually. And that is the 21. Both hit. Okay. So you take six points of slashing damage, half to three, and nine points slash damage, half to five. So take eight points of slashing damage total. Two strikes against you, Scanlan. That is an 18. Oh yes, that hits. Okay. And then a 12. Hey, that misses. So you take that's seven.
Starting point is 02:01:57 11 points of slashing damage. Okay. As this goes to strike a second time, you see the second blow coming, you just duck out of the way. That ends there go. Next up is Kiela. So there are two guys alive right now? Correct, yes. One's on Scaling. Yep, one's on Grog. The one near Grog's looking a little rough.
Starting point is 02:02:15 The one near Scalin's doing okay. How's Cassandra looking next to me? She's fine, there's no blood, there's nothing, the wound's gone entirely. But other than that, she looks fine. Looks fine. Okay. I've got my grasping vines still up. I'm going to wrap it around the guy that's close to Scanlan, and just yank him off Scanlan.
Starting point is 02:02:38 Okay. This pulls him over Scanlan's form and slams him right next to Cassandra. Okay. And then I will just go, oh, and pop them with my staff. Go for it. You can hit this? Yeah, I got big old staff, yo. I'm not great at it, but I can do it.
Starting point is 02:03:04 She can gand off that. Oh, that's not bad. 16? 16 does not hit the board. Oh, ping! Ooh. He's got armor. It sounded nice, though.
Starting point is 02:03:15 Got a resonate a little bit. Doesn't it a little bit? Shakes off a bit for a second. All right, is it any turn? Yep. All right, that brings his two vex. So I'm still down on my knees. You're still down on your knee.
Starting point is 02:03:27 Your brother got up and rushed off. He seems okay, and he's like, kind of taking a breath for himself. I look up at Percy, who's covered in smoke, and I grab his hand, and I say, Percival, how are you? His head slowly turns towards you. The mask's still on.
Starting point is 02:03:41 You can see his eyes just barely through the glistening circular glass slots where he looks through. The smoke's still kind of building up. underneath that the head slowly turns towards you. Fine. Donning, take the mosque off. And I... I don't have a turn yet, no.
Starting point is 02:03:56 And I shoot at the guy that's attacking Grog. Okay. He is technically ameliorate with you, so you get a disadvantage on these strikes unless you want to move away. Does he get an attack of opportunity, though, if I scoot you back? He would, unless he didn't take one against you when you ran back, so you disengaged. Yes, he would. Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 02:04:17 Okay. So you moved back, a step. We move back, a step. That is a 21. Hits. Okay, you take nine points of slashing damage as you reach back the creature, whoosh, arcs with its sword and manage to strike you. Boston! Hope your attacks. Okay.
Starting point is 02:04:34 That is 26 and 23. Shunksha. Both hit. I didn't hunters mark him because I'm brilliant. Yes. 34 points. 34 points of damage from both? Yeah, two eights.
Starting point is 02:04:59 Two eights. So, um... Plus the braces. Right. As you pull the arrows out and launch them, both simultaneously, two arrows in one notch, release them both. One slams into the armor, the one goes underneath the helmet, and as it strikes, you hear this horrible echoing, Screech that echoes as the armor falls to the ground.
Starting point is 02:05:18 Yeah! You can take a rescue movement if you like. I stand up. Well, you were standing up to get on. Oh, I scooched back, right. Okay, well then. Unless you wanted to be like you... Yeah, I kind of wanted to go.
Starting point is 02:05:33 Okay, so you pulled back in the wall, on the ground, release the arrows. Yeah, I think you like up into the... There you go. Stand up, brush yourself off. That ends your go. That brings us to... Trinket isn't not to move any at all.
Starting point is 02:05:44 Trinket can if you want. Can he run after her? Yep. She rushes out. We'll get there, rushes through the fog, and looks over and sees her right there. Okay. That ends your turn. Now it's her turn. She goes to a full dash. Does Trinke got an attack of opportunity for that? Okay.
Starting point is 02:06:05 Come on Trinke. Scratch her up. That's in the corner. I can't really say. Do that. Don't do that. Don't do that. I hate that sound. What you do? That's 12. That's 12. Good to know.
Starting point is 02:06:21 12? Yeah. 12 does not hit unfortunately. Even with no armor, she's a pretty quick one. Ducks below and just bolts down the hallway and around the corner. Why we never have anything? All right. Lots of places can expose you to identity theft. Oh no.

Now the survivors claw to what's left of a broken world, praying the darkness chooses someone else tonight, but in the shadow dark, the darkness always wins. This is old school adventuring at its most cruel. Your torch ticks down in real time, and when that flame dies, something else rises to finish the job. Starting point is 02:07:51 every Thursday night at 8 p.m. Eastern on YouTube.com slash the Glass Cannon with the podcast version dropping the next day. See what everybody's talking about and join us in the dark. So that ends your turn, her turn, per seer-o. I'm going to pull off the mask and walk forward a bit and take three shots about there. and take three shots at the armor. Okay. Regular shots?
Starting point is 02:08:27 Sharpshooter shots. Okay. With one ice. So 14. 14 misses? Deflex it with the shield. Make sure I'm doing this right. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:08:41 God damn it. That's better. 17. Deplex the second one with the shield. Damn it. Heavy armor on this one. Drop in sharpshooter for the third one. Okay.
Starting point is 02:08:52 Yeah. Not that it helped. 16. This one actually managed to Duck out of the way. It splinters across the wall behind it. Ugh! Yeah. They're tough.
Starting point is 02:09:05 It's my turn. All right. The back's your up. Kill him. I'm just going to walk as far as I can. So 30 feet. There? Am I within 40 feet?
Starting point is 02:09:20 No. No, then I just stand. We're going to use your rest of your action to keep moving, if you like. Oh, right, yeah. I'm going to move around that table and get by Scammon. Stand right next to me. There you go. Okay.
Starting point is 02:09:34 That brings us to Grog. I would like to move to the suit of armor, please. Someone please sit down the suit of armor. Like running towards kind of jumping and putting one foot on the table using that as momentum to rush in the air with the plate. Go ahead and roll your tip. 24. 24 hits. And 25.
Starting point is 02:09:52 A bit. 20 with fire damage. Nice. 16 with fire damage. Gotcha. Whop, wha, hammer down the helmet actually gets pushed into the armor. It has to reform itself before it has a chance to you bring around the hammer and hit the shield. The shield was such force that it pushes it into itself and slams it against the wall,
Starting point is 02:10:19 and you take the back of the hammer and slam it up under the actual helmet. You see the flames kind of burn across the side of its arcane form, causing it to shimmer for a second. It's looking pretty rough. Instead of using the table though, you use Grog's knee. You should run, jump onto his knee with one foot leap off, or blade in the air. Go for the strike. That's cool. Come on, come on.
Starting point is 02:10:37 You can do it, Scanlan. What do I add? Your attack bonus for your weapon. I don't know what that is. It is never used. Okay, it's a plus seven. Yeah, so. 15.
Starting point is 02:10:50 As you rush in the air, you hesitate for a moment, remembering the pipe thing, and you see this burning arcane rage in the face of this entity. At that moment, the hesitation was all needed. It takes the shield and almost knocks the weapon out of your hand. You catch yourself, lay on your feet. Yeah, your finger stinging a little bit. Put the shot.
Starting point is 02:11:08 All right. And Retribution is going to strike at you twice. Oh, no. Great. Great. That's a 15. We're going to eat this thing. That fails.
Starting point is 02:11:18 That is successful. That is successful. That is seven points of slashing image. Okay. That's not so bad. All right. Keelith, you're up. You guys thought someone was going to kill him.
Starting point is 02:11:30 I tried, but he hurt my wrist really bad. Just hit him with your stick again with this frog. I know. I don't want to fucking burn any spells on this asshole. Just hit him with your stick. Just, yeah, god, get, gah! Goh! God damn it, this hopefully works.
Starting point is 02:11:46 Nope. No. Wow. Tinga! Have the armor on these guys. All right, next year. Oh, gosh, I guess I shoot him. Can I see him to shoot him?
Starting point is 02:11:58 You can, I say you can see him all right, you can move over there and get a better view a little bit around this corner. I'm going to huntress mark him. The hunter's mark him? And I'm going to shoot him. Yeah, go for it. Like an old grandmother with a purse. Oh gosh, I'm just like so nervous about picking the 20.
Starting point is 02:12:12 No. Uh, uh. 19. 19, the arrow hits the armor and shatters across the side. Shit. 19? 24. 24 does hit.
Starting point is 02:12:26 Okay, that's good. Okay. Yay, you heard it. Well, maybe. I see. Because of the shield. I have a bonus stack. Yeah, it's the shield and the armor.
Starting point is 02:12:37 18. 18. 18 points of damage. With that, the second arrow strikes into the center of its chest armor. It hits some sort of core where its arcane form is held, and the actual, the reddish energy blinks out, and the armor just crumbles to the ground. Yes! That's two of them. What's up, bitches? That was tough.
Starting point is 02:12:56 Yeah. Okay, I immediately turned my attention to Cassandra. Mm-hmm. Can I do like a medical check on her to make sure she's okay? Go ahead and make a medicine check, yeah. Where's Ripley? I start running out the hall to Ripley. I'm gonna sit down and...
Starting point is 02:13:10 Oh, Trinket runs, is still running after her, too. All right. Make a perception check for Trinket. Okay, is it like his smelling? Yeah, it's his wisdom bonus. I'm rolling a big dice for Trinket. Oh, that's good. 26. 26.
Starting point is 02:13:28 25. 25, okay. Trinket is giving Chase best it can Except, wait, hold on. Hold on. I get advantage because he's got advantage on smell perception. Oh, it's the same thing. Okay. So Trink, it's keeping track, but is having a hard time fully keeping up at this point, unless you're giving full attention towards him at this point in time. Okay. But it's keeping a track. She is rushing fast she can down the stairs, and is currently out of your sphere of personal influence the moment.
Starting point is 02:13:58 I should have punders marked her. I grab Scanlan and we're taken off after. I rolled a 17 for the medicine check. Okay. Cassandra? Checking Cassandra, the wound is, there's no sign of a wound now. She seems to be not any danger. Okay.
Starting point is 02:14:19 So she's like on the ground kind of dazed and check that. I'm going to collapse in a corner for a minute and start using my ascot to just clean some of the gore off my weapon and my clothing and my mask. And there's a lot of gore. Okay. Are we out of combat now? You guys are hurting the out of combat. Okay.
Starting point is 02:14:35 I'm going to clutching my pleading belly, walk over toward Keeleth, and say that that was a close one. Yeah. You know, I kind of feel like we've been here before. Oh, right. Oh, right. We have been here before.
Starting point is 02:14:54 You know I'm in love with you, right? And I kiss her. Oh. Everyone. Okay. And on that note, we're going to go ahead and take a, Quick little break. Oh, what the fuck?
Starting point is 02:15:10 So with the chaos that has ensued through the battle in Ander's study in the Castle of White Stone, the party looks about. Cassandra D'Rolo recovered and pulled from seemingly the brink of death. Vax pulled seemingly from the brink of death, and Percy managing to squeak in a second kill shot on a member of his list.
Starting point is 02:15:34 As the rest period kicks in, Vax stepped across the room, holding his wound to his side, admitting his affection for Keeleth, and reaching out and kissing her. Or attempting to kiss. Roll for contact with her? Roll for tongue action. No. No. So as he breaks from the momentary unexpected embrace, you catch yourself off guard. Uh-huh. Uh. You know, the way you turn in the animals and stuff is really cool. I'm going to collect wind up around.
Starting point is 02:16:11 Yeah. Are you sure? I leave the room and look for a trinket. Just let me, and I cure wounds him for, for, I'll do like a fourth level, fourth level. Sorry, shut up, Sam. Should I try to buy my spell. Yeah, yeah, do they have fourth level of cure wounds.
Starting point is 02:16:33 Turn hold the spell slides. Let's go and roll. Folks, we don't know what we're doing. not really know what we're doing. I feel like in the moment I would just do it really at a... Shut up. Overcomes? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right.
Starting point is 02:16:52 What do I roll? Hang on one D8. Just I'm rolling four D8s. I need D8s. God damn it. Here, take... You can't have my D8s. Okay, fine.
Starting point is 02:17:05 There's two of mine. That's fine. Give me one more. Give me one more. All right. Okay, 14, 18. What are you doing? I'm collecting all of as many, like, three or four of Vex's arrows from the ground.
Starting point is 02:17:20 Okay. And getting them in my hand, and I'm waiting for, and I'm just sort of staying back from all of this and letting it happen. Okay. Collect the arrows, Vex is stepping out of the room to pursue after Trinket. Trinkinke is pursuing Ripley. Grogger, watch that happen. No, Grogh is going on and ran out of the room after Ripley. Okay.
Starting point is 02:17:39 You guys bolted out. And we're yelling now. Ripley! Ripley! Vax, are you all right? Oh, we shouldn't yell. We shouldn't yell, Grogh. Fuck that I yell anyway.
Starting point is 02:17:48 Was there a total? 33. Okay. So. Feel better. Thank you. That's good. I'm going to now take my handful of what is now basically a switch, and I'm going to start
Starting point is 02:18:01 whacking him with it really hard on the chest. Don't you! Don't go into rooms by yourself! God damn it! I kind of back into the corner upon seeing this, Percy kind of ruins a moment. Percival, he had a knife. You count to.
Starting point is 02:18:18 Throat, he was going to kill her. Thank you, but count to ten, and now I drop them and go over to my sister. At which point, as you're saying this, I was afraid she was going to die. To be fair, you did kind of get her throat slit, but it's okay. As you're saying this, and you turn around,
Starting point is 02:18:34 you can see she's kind of sat up and she just sees this conversation and goes, Percy. Hi. Percy. I'm so sorry. She just gets up off the ground, runs up, and just grabs you and embraces you tightly. You can feel like all the muscles tense in her body as she just holds you with a slight shake to her body.
Starting point is 02:18:55 I'm so sorry for leaving you. I thought she were dead, and she pulls away for a second and just looks at you, and there's a coldness to her face. She's happy, but there's... Even for her young age, you can see there's, you know, lines. lines with the corner of her eyes, she probably been through a lot. She smiles and kind of looks up at you again. You can see there's the white shocks in her hair, and she kind of looks at him and touches her hair and goes, I see we've both survived quite a bit. I wouldn't trade. She kind of laughs to herself, and you see another, like, kind of tear curled her eye, and then her
Starting point is 02:19:35 face goes cold for a second when she, not breaking this gaze, kind of steps back. You shouldn't be here. They were using me to get to you. I'm so sorry. Are you all right? Did they do anything? Are you yourself? I'm just gonna reach up and hold her neck. I'm good. I'm good. And she kind of steals yourself for a second. And even more so, you see her, there's an intensity to her. Perception check?
Starting point is 02:20:04 To... Insight? I just want to... I want to make sure she's not holding anything really important back. Okay. Go for. What? Insight? Mm-hmm. Do I get a bonus for that right now? It's a wisdom. Yeah. No, because you were concentrating.
Starting point is 02:20:26 This is not a saving throw, though. Yeah, Intent's wisdom. It's not a saving throw. It's not a saving through. Sorry. 11. Okay. Best you can tell, she seems very honest. She seems forthright. She just also, you're used to the memory of your sister being this kind of bright-eyed, cheerful, youngest of the bunch, you know, near youngest, and definitely a woman who sees the world with fresh eyes. These eyes are different. They're colder,
Starting point is 02:20:59 they're hardened. In ways you're impressed, in ways you're also immediately sad to see that that memory of your sister probably is no longer there. We're putting an end to the Briar Woods tonight before the sun sets. This is the end of them. It's all going to be over. We're going to stop whatever it is they're doing under the city. You say this. We've tried twice. I know. This is it.
Starting point is 02:21:43 You left me, you know. I know, and I'm so sorry. Good. We're going to do this. Let's get ready. You're going to your room. Yes, I am. This is over. No. No, I'm not.
Starting point is 02:22:05 I'm going to my room to get my things, to get my mother's armor. You're... I don't think that's a very good idea. I've been fighting them for what? A few days? I've been fighting them for nearly three years. You have no power over me, brother. And if our goals are aligned to free this city, let's do it together.
Starting point is 02:22:34 But I don't have to listen to you. You're taking fine. She walks out of the room. Percy. She's so obnoxious. What? You have a sister. Oh, God, I do. You guys charging off trinkets keeping trailbistic him.
Starting point is 02:23:00 She's run down the stairway. He is beginning to slowly gain on her. She reaches the front doors. Does remember the caltrops. Fuck. Jumps over them, grabs the door, opens it, and rushes out into the daylight. Go ahead and roll a perception check for Trinket. Oh.
Starting point is 02:23:23 Oh, come on Trink. Oh, he saw it happen. He's got really good vision. Come on, Trink. Yay! Oh, yeah, that's like 24. Yeah, Trinket just jumps over. The door is only slightly...
Starting point is 02:23:40 So Trinket has to kind of stop and wedge his way through. Can you cannonball into her? Try to catch her? It's the same speed as if you dashed it, it would be the same speed. However, it takes a moment to get through. You guys now get down the stairs as Trinkett opens the door and wedges through. Okay. I mean, there's a scent out there, but she's nowhere invisible range.
Starting point is 02:24:08 She's either darted off the path or possibly off the actual roadside. She probably does that. And you can see now the struggle that's happened. You can now hear in the distance, the sound of yells and fighting, and there doesn't appear to be any one side of the other pushing. I whistle at Trinket and to get him to stop. As you get to the landing, you whistle out. Trinket, who's just now pushing through the door,
Starting point is 02:24:32 and gets out for a bit, looking back and forth, looks over the shoulder, and runs back to you. It appears that Ripley has scattered into White Stone somewhere. We stop. Come. We need to find the by one. Are we meeting, I'm still up, are you going to come meet us again upstairs? Are we all still upstairs?
Starting point is 02:24:54 Yeah, we'll just, we'll get drinking, go back upstairs, or wherever they are. I give back the hand. Taking a short rest. We're taking a short rest? We're taking a short rest. We're waiting, yeah. We're waiting there, they follow her down, I'm waiting on Cassandra.
Starting point is 02:25:08 Okay. I can stay down on that. Sorry, are you, are you, come up? Are you waiting in the study? Yeah, waiting in the study. Okay, she goes off to her room. You're there for a few minutes. We're all in a study.
Starting point is 02:25:19 We come back and say that Ripley is very talented. She got away. Yeah. I have no doubt. We have bigger issues than Anna at this point. Take a bath. Take a bath. Grog, do you have the bag of holding?
Starting point is 02:25:42 I do. Can you scoop up what's left of Professor Ronda's? Ooh. What? Can I loot him first? Yes. Let me just see what's on him. Can I?
Starting point is 02:25:54 His head bit? I don't want any of him sticking around. Do we have to put him in the bag of holding? Yeah, why can we just set him on fire? Or cut his head off. Stop him in a closet or something for now. Let's set him on fire. Fire will do.
Starting point is 02:26:10 Is there a fireplace in the room? There is. It is. Let me see what's on him. Okay. You make an investigation check. We don't want him coming back. He's crumpled up against the desk.
Starting point is 02:26:23 He sits in the corner. It's all his papers that got pushed off the side. There's a bunch of random scrollings in the... 24. 24? Okay. You search his body. You find...
Starting point is 02:26:36 120 gold pieces on him. Yeah. Not a whole lot. He doesn't keep his important shit on him for the most part. You do find, however, the boots that he's wearing are very finely crafted, and unlike the rest of his wear, have kind of a hand stitching in it that is exemplary in construction and doesn't match with the rest of his ensemble. So it seems like some of you wear more for function than actual style. Pardon me?
Starting point is 02:27:08 I take them. Take them. Take them. Take his shoes. Does anybody have magic? Can you see what these are? I'm sure I can look at them. Look at these, Gennan.
Starting point is 02:27:20 I look at them. Okay, you're taking a short rest. You can take the short rest to inspect the boots, get the feel for him. They are indeed enchanted. They are a pair of boots of levitation. Once per day, you can trigger the levitation for up to 10 minutes, as per the spell. as per the spell. You can't actually move as part of it. You just levitate in the air, and you have to kind of push off. Like zero g. Like Willy Wonka.
Starting point is 02:27:45 Zero G boots. Do they fit? They fit anyone who wishes the propemon. Oh. They magically. Magical items alter themselves. Oh, we're playing with that later. Yeah. I'll just hold out to it.
Starting point is 02:27:58 We'll just hold out to it. Anything else here's one to do while you're waiting? Can we all just try once when we get back to Grace Gold Keep? Anything else do you're waiting? Anything else in the room? Can I sniff around the room and investigate? Yeah, go make an investigation check. I drag Anders over to the fireplace.
Starting point is 02:28:10 I'll look with Scanlan. It isn't quite fit, so I have to kind of snap some. 27. Okay, good. As you're looking through and kind of finding papers and papers and ledgers and talk discussions of old classes untouched inside you, you go through one of the bottom drawers and there's a lock to it.
Starting point is 02:28:30 Oh, let's unlock that. Vax, do you need my help to unlock it? No, shorthy. Hold on. 40, hold on. Are there any traps in there? I'm a big perception chip. That's... Oh, 20, yeah. It does appear to be trapped.
Starting point is 02:28:44 It does appear to be trapped? So what do I roll to undo that, dexterity or? This would be a... Walkpack again? Thebes tools, all right. So same trick you can do the walkpeg. Oh, I can open it for you. It's a natural 20, so that's untrapped.
Starting point is 02:28:56 As part of that, you notice that part of this mechanism is when it opens if there isn't a switch underneath it held that's hidden. it will cause a dart, a poison dart, to launch out in the direction of whoever's in the front of it. You hold them. You find it, you open it up. About an issue, and you find the spring mechanism, snap it, and remove the bolt, and the little poison-tip bolt kind of check it off the side. Wait, give me that. Take it. Okay. You have a poison-tip bolt.
Starting point is 02:29:21 Okay. A tiny little hand crossbow, essentially, is what it is. So now I've got to unlock it, right? Yeah. Yeah. 80-20. Natural 20? No, not a natural one.
Starting point is 02:29:32 Oh, okay. Because of these. Easy enough to unlock at this point. You get it open, you pull it open. There's a collection of letters. Percival, come here. You're probably the best person to know what to make of these. You glance through and inspect them. And you take the next 10 minutes or so
Starting point is 02:29:52 to get the gist of these letters while Cassandra's away. Many of them talk about a slew of things that are disconcerting to you as the information hits you. And you kind of relay this information to the group. Notes on the removal of key magical defenses during political meeting at Iman. The discussion, as in like making sure that certain individuals and safeguards that are usually made during political meetings like that were not present during that endeavor. Evidence is what that is. Notes on best construction methods using the mined white stone and repairs for the mants in the ziggurat.
Starting point is 02:30:36 The manse? What's a mans? A mansion. A manse or a place or a home. It has many different meanings. There are warning Anders of, and there are multiple letters at different periods of time over the past few years that are warning Anders of an arrival of Seeker Ossum's spies. He's a good guy. There are letters talking about plotting, diverting political attention away from White Stone to
Starting point is 02:31:08 leave it a political enigma during this period of time. There are letters talking about planting information within Wildmount that would lead their investigation team to believe the Briarwoods have been found dead. It's the whole paper trail. And occasionally there are mentions in a lot of these letters that speak of the undying king shall return. We are as blood. Yarl. Yarl. What? The undying king shall return.
Starting point is 02:31:38 Where did she get Yarl? We are his blood. Oh, we are. We are. Yes. Undying king. Shall return. We are his blood.
Starting point is 02:31:46 And then it says, and then it says, Yarl. Yarl. The letters aren't signed. Okay. Are they all of the same hand? They are all of the same handwriting. I'm still shaking. In the cluster there is one completely unrelated letter that just talks about business
Starting point is 02:32:04 ledgers and construction of the bridge. It appears to be a simple, A simple discussion on the future plans to construct the bridge. Is that in the same hand? It is in the same handwriting. And is it signed? It is signed a Lord Reskell Daxio. Oh.
Starting point is 02:32:20 Who? Axio? Raskill Daxio. Oh wait. I know we know him. Yep. Who is he? It's part of the Council of Taldore.
Starting point is 02:32:29 Oh, motherfucker. He's a spy. He's technically also the one that helped designate the construction. of your keep. He handled a lot of the construction. That's right. Oh, no. He built our keep. He's a construction guy. He's like the head builder. He could have spy. He could be spying on. What is the same where's go? He's spying on some of the
Starting point is 02:32:48 keeps. That's probably how they got. He could have a secret entrance to our keep that he built and didn't tell us. Holy. As soon as we see that, I go down in the crouch and I shit scry on our keep to see if it's still there. Oh, my God. Yeah. And I put an elemental there. It's babysitting. Yes, you did. That lasted for... 30 days.
Starting point is 02:33:11 30 days. Glancing within the kitchen, there doesn't appear to be much... That catches your attention. You shut the kitchen? I put a mound of shit in a jar in the kitchen. I told them don't clean it up. Like you do. You know.
Starting point is 02:33:28 Thursdays. I've got Andrews in the fireplace and I have to be the last firebrand war hammer with the magic word baking and I hit it inside of a There's already fire in the fireplace, but you just stoke it a little further. And pretty soon, the delicious scent of burning human flesh fills the room. Bacon. Yeah, bacon. Did you know that was what the word was?
Starting point is 02:33:51 Makes sense. So everything's fine at the keep. Bacon makes everything magic. At the time, yes. At the time, yes. At the time. At least there's nothing on fire. There's no screams.
Starting point is 02:33:59 There's no movement. It just seems like the cold kitchen is untouched. So I'm trying to figure out. My shit saw, no movement. Good to know. Good to know, Samin. You've squeezed all you're going to be able to get out of that. That metaphor.
Starting point is 02:34:16 Percy, can we get into the underground caverns from here? Can I think of a way, I mean, like, I'm assuming that I would know the way to where this might be. As you have this conversation, a voice from the doorway rings out. I can take you. You look over and it's Cassandra. She's going to take us. Is that your sister? Apparently. She's currently now dressed in armor you've seen as ornamental before.
Starting point is 02:34:43 It was armor that your mother trained in when she was young, but was unused for a long time. It seems to be serviceable, though, like it's been updated as such. She has worn, and she kind of slides a short sword into a sheet at her side, and her hair is pulled back and tied off, and she kind of just looks at the rest of the room. So are you ready? Let me see your neck. She steps up and lifts her chin up towards you. By the way, this is Grog. I'm going to insert it.
Starting point is 02:35:09 He's pleased to meet you. These are my friends, by the way. Do I see anything on her neck? No. Next thing's fine. There's no signs of any puncture wounds. It's a 15. Yep.
Starting point is 02:35:20 She seems as determined as the rest of you. Lead the way, sister. She turns around and she gets walking back in the hallway. Can we expect any more traps that you're aware of? I'm aware of, no, but I'm certain that they may They be, they know you're coming, it seems. So be wary, be careful. I'll take you to the Undercroft. Did we just do a short rest here? Yes, really.
Starting point is 02:35:53 Oh, yeah. Hey, Percival. Any chance you can load up one of Ripley's guns for me? I don't know if it will actually, I would have to probably train you on how to use it. Really? I've seen you use it, you just pull your finger on the finger, part and the big boom part goes out. It's a little more complicated than that, actually. You have to point it at the thing you want to be boomed.
Starting point is 02:36:28 I mean, he could use it. He just wouldn't be able to add his proficiency bonus to the attack rolls. I'll load one for you, and so I'll give him her boom stick. Okay. You take it as you guys are walking along. Just making sure it functions too. It seems pretty functional. It's well constructed.
Starting point is 02:36:44 It's sleek. It's not very, like your paper box has a bit of flare to its design, as is, you know, your background. background. Hers is just streamlined simple, much like the decor of her room when you saw it. Like she doesn't mess with anything fancy or unnecessary. The ammunition she does have are made specific to size to her pistol. They would not function for the pepperbox, unfortunately. They will only work for the pistol, and it is. I'm doing okay. It does act. Not doing great, but I'm doing okay. Yeah, it does act as a pistol for a full rules-wise, which are in your sheet there.
Starting point is 02:37:14 So yes, you have that. Do you want it? Just in case you always misfires? I'll steal it back from him if I need, but it should be fine. It's... I'd like to make an athletics check or acrobatics. See if I can spin it around and put it in my pocket. Wait, where did you get it? That would be a dexterity check. Okay, I'll do that.
Starting point is 02:37:33 No, you have it. Wait, give it to me. Give it to him. Careful or Alfie. Put your eye off. All right, go and roll dexterity. Roll dexterity, add your dexterity modifier. Okay.
Starting point is 02:37:43 Don't want the one. This is literally how she lost her hand. Wait, what's this? Why does it say plus four next to you? This music is awful as you're checking. T-T-T-Tik, T-Tik, T-T-T-T-T-Vilin's fucking. Well, it's zero, but it said there's a big plus four next to it for some reason. It's going to be temporary. I don't know.
Starting point is 02:38:01 Zero. Zero. It's, it was 14. Okay. You, and managed to get it in there. Thankfully, it's not loaded because you feel the trigger go off. Oh. But there wasn't a bullet loaded, so it's like, k.
Starting point is 02:38:14 We took all the ammunition. Okay, now give me a bullet. Okay. I hand him the ammunition. I load four of them. You're, you're giving him a load. I'm a big boy, now I'm a little boy, but I'm a little big boy. If something goes horribly wrong,
Starting point is 02:38:33 I would like to walk past Scanlon and grab it out of his hand. But I will prevent him from doing that. Okay. You guys are fighting up row loaded. Let a hand check. Fight a hand check. Athletics track. Son of you go first.
Starting point is 02:38:49 Is this a skill check? Yeah. Add your athletic. six to your roll. Uh, 17. Shut up, 27. As you go, as you go to me, no, what do you? It's already gone. You don't even know where it went.
Starting point is 02:39:00 You didn't see him take it. You just all of a sudden see it in his hand as he walks past it. And I walk over to Cassandra. I don't give her the gun. I just say, uh, you are Cassandra. Yes. I was at the door. He had a knife to your throat.
Starting point is 02:39:12 He wanted you to say something to us. What did he want you to say? He wanted me to shout for help. You wanted me to draw you at you at you. He wanted me to draw you in. Can I inside check her to see if she's telling the truth? Yeah. You've been living here.
Starting point is 02:39:26 How did it come that he had a blade to your throat today? How did it all unravel? Have you been living here? 24. 24? She's telling the truth. Okay. Well, after the arrows felled me. I guess I should ston from the beginning. And she's walking along with you guys,
Starting point is 02:39:48 as she's leading you down the stairs and down to the bottom floor. And she's kind of still, she doesn't look to you. She's still looking ahead, very kind of intent. I take that pistol back from me. After the arrows felled me, I recovered. Father Reinal found me. Brought me from the brink. Out of the temple of Pello outside of town.
Starting point is 02:40:10 Things hadn't fallen quite that far back then. And they had more people in the city. At the time, the Briarwood Rule was fresh, and folks were eager to speak out against well. what they've wrought on this city before the fall of the Dorlos. We still thought they had fallen to plague, and just, through some unfortunate political business they had come to power, but we began to question. I knew better, and I told the truth once I had recovered, and we began to build our first rebellion. For two years we built up a resistance before we made our first move. They seemed to know
Starting point is 02:40:53 exactly what we were plotting. It cut us off at every end. We couldn't see who it was that was giving up our information, but I knew I was close. But before I had the opportunity. I was helming a group that was traveling to utilize the escape route that I took you through when they first attacked, and it was just after dusk, and Lord Briarwood was there waiting for us in the forest. They slaughtered most of the men, but he recognized my face from the dinner we had. The night they took the castle. They did not harm me, strangely. They treated me like a against my will in my own house. I seemed to ascertain that they knew in keeping me there and having member of the house. Within their grasp, they could use that as leverage. I don't know.
Starting point is 02:42:07 Now Silas, he had his charms, and there were many that worked beneath them against their own will. Work on me. My hatred was too strong. So instead they tried to provide me with wealth. Power, near and white stone. I just took the reading and ignoring it all. I don't know why they kept me around. But I wasn't going to question if it gave me a chance to possibly undermine them. And she kind of grabs the side of her sword, as you guys have now reached down a long hallway towards the back of the castle. You know the direction she's taking me that leads to the cellar, which leads to the Undercroft and the D'Rola Mosulene. Three years of reading in that library. Arthur's a library.
Starting point is 02:43:09 Strategy. Tactics. Old lines of information, as well as the myth and history of White Stone. I found allies within the castle. I contacted Yemen and threw him Archibald, who helped me build the first rebellion. Archibald still lose Percy, and he's been completely necessary in what we've built here. She kind of looks down at her armor as you guys reach the edge of the cellar, and she pulls the door open quietly. And there's wooden stairs that lead down into the cellar to taps her armor. There's many mothers, it's good to know I'm not the only tomboy in the bloodline.
Starting point is 02:44:01 Kind of brushes the hair out of her face and kind of for the first time really looks at you with a smile since she first saw you. Can we do one thing before we go down into the cellar? I just... this is the best day of my life and can't help but be suspicious. I completely understand. Is there any way to check if she's being controlled? if she's being controlled. I was thinking the same thing. Can we put your helmet on her?
Starting point is 02:44:47 The only thing you really have seen work is the greater restoration spell you cast on. Secret awesome when you guys were at the council of Tadore. That did seem to remove any sort of trauma effects. That's what you're asking about. We don't have that. I didn't learn it. Not for today.
Starting point is 02:45:08 Kind of thought Pike's magic would hold up. I could try and jogger memory. Pike. What can I do to make you trust me? Punch her in the face? Yeah. I do trust you, that's the problem. She kind of smells a bit.
Starting point is 02:45:26 Whatever you need. I've got nothing. Do you want to have any creative means in which they would want to check? What would happen if we put your helmet on her? Sorry, if she's already controlled. This would disrupt it, maybe. We might disrupt it. Try it.
Starting point is 02:45:52 Doesn't hurt to put our hat on. It has to be attuned over a short rest. Does. Does the hat need to be attuned over a short rest? In theory. I want to suggest something to you that we rest here for half hour, and I give this to you. This came from a very strange creature. It will help you resist any control.
Starting point is 02:46:21 any control, if there is any control. And one of us, you can even choose. It could strike you and try to take you out of it. And if you're not being controlled, then you're being struck across the face, and I'm sorry for that, but if you are, there's a possibility we'd pull you out. And I know that would hurt,
Starting point is 02:46:46 but it would go a long way to earn our trust. And she takes it from your hand and kind of expects it for a second. for a second. Shawty Craftsmanship, places it on her head, and it's a little big at first, and it kind of conforms a little bit to her head. Your choice. She sits down a couple steps deep into the cellar, kind of curls around a corner, ushers you all over to follow her into the shadow. Can I see before we leave, are we near any windows? From this location, no. And all windows that would be here would face out into the north side of Whitestone, which is just forested in the mountains.
Starting point is 02:47:28 Backyards? All right. You guys on the north side of the castle now, so that's the, you guys on the north side of the castle now, so the city is south of you. So you take a moment and sit. While you guys are waiting, she kind of like, takes a moment she's adjusting it and feeling it and expecting her hands and like, I don't feel any different. While we wait.
Starting point is 02:47:52 What if the little one struck you? Struck her? Give it some time. Give it some time. A rye grin. Whichever you choose. I could try to tell if she's evil or not. Would that help?
Starting point is 02:48:05 Yeah. Well. I don't know. I don't think she's evil, but she could be a puppet. Can I try this? It's a long shot. Actually, I think our Faye ancestry from being half elves were immune to charm effects.
Starting point is 02:48:25 Well, we're- Or we have resistance. Yeah, we have this. A advantage against saves. Yeah, resistant. Since we kind of have that, can we use our Faye ancestry to the three of us tap into her
Starting point is 02:48:39 and see if we can detect a charm? Your resistance doesn't give you a tune to it, and unfortunately it's just the natural ability that's inherent. Her being human, there's not a way to really correlate with that. I mean, you've read over her a few times, you've given a few insight checks, and you're giving her this example.
Starting point is 02:48:55 Wait, it was greater restoration? Yeah. Ah, ah. You have that? I have a potion. This should solve all of our problems. Or you could say that for when one of us becomes a vampire. No, it'll be, and I'm pulling out a potion, a potion bottle.
Starting point is 02:49:13 It says if you are controlled, this could fix it. She puts her hand out, you know, her like leather glove, pull over it now. She's never seen her quite militant before, and it's a really interesting visual to you. I look at her. And she drinks the potion, whole thing down, takes up. That was actually a minor healing potion.
Starting point is 02:49:42 I was just seeing if you did it intentionally. She gives her eye grin and kind of wipes her mouth. I thought I recognize that terrible earthy taste tosses the crystal decanter to you. Clever boy. Huh. You always were the clever one. I figured it was worth a shot. Yeah. That's all the thing.
Starting point is 02:50:04 That's what we're going to do. Am I supposed to punch her in the face now? No. No. She'll show it. Stick for this thing? I'll take it back, yeah. She hands it back to you.
Starting point is 02:50:13 All right. Don't you have to it, too, and she's... There's a fascination she has their armor, and she's like, she's... She's like she kind of, I have not been able to wear this before. It feels good to have something close to mother. It's been a long time. Simon repaired it for me when he was working here. Oh, you're sorry.
Starting point is 02:50:34 I haven't seen him in a while. I'm worried. That's the name of my belt is fine. Let's go down and take care of this. Cass? She leads you down through the stellar. Ray Eamon, before we enter, it's safe to assume they know we're coming.
Starting point is 02:50:51 correct? If they're there? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Better safe than sorry. So... Can I ask Cassandra if...
Starting point is 02:51:03 I'm sorry, that's it. I'm just going to screw anything you like. I don't know. Are they down now? The Bridewood's going to be down there? Are they here? She goes, I mean, I have no confirmation of them, but they spend most of the time down here. They're preparing for something.
Starting point is 02:51:15 And if you ever been down here? I'm not allowed down here by their orders, but I've snuck down a few times. a few times out of curiosity. I've only gotten so far before I had to return, but I've made it through the undercroft, through most of the tunnels, and I've gotten to the distillery, and that's about as far as I've gotten. But I follow them down here, and usually come with a group of guards, four or five strong. Are there centuries? Can we expect to find traps, look out? It's definitely a possibility, so move quietly, be careful.
Starting point is 02:51:56 What is Lady Briarwood? What is Lady Briarwood? She's a wicked beast of the creatures where she is. Starting point is 02:53:46 Use less savory words, but my brother's here. It's the first time for everything, I suppose. As she kind of leads you guys in down the stairs for the world. She goes, well, she's not like a husband, that I know. And as far as I can tell, she's human. But she has a very powerful control over life and death. She's a practitioner of the arcane, most definitely, but her focus seems to be necromancy. On a wide scale.
Starting point is 02:54:24 Like, well, Delilah and Silas, all men in life, they speak of another. They speak of another? The guy that they're trying to bring back. As if a third party, he completes the human. The king that will rise again? Mm-hmm. They don't say any names. They refer to him as him,
Starting point is 02:54:42 or the whispered one. No reference beyond that. What? What if it's what? I'm having that thought as well. What if it's what? The guy whispers to persons. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 02:54:56 Oh, boy. It's playing both sides, possibly Percival. Oh, question, another question for Cassandra. The Duke. Megmire, Vegmire, Venkman. Vengpen? Ragmire. Vigmire.
Starting point is 02:55:10 Vigmire. Have you seen him around the castle today or recently? Yeah, I've only seen him in the castle maybe three times since we've been here. Because Grog, he's a Goliath. He's a, what? He's a big Goliath. So if he's here, you should just, you know. How'd you see him?
Starting point is 02:55:29 Oh, when I was a dinosaur and I burned down a house and killed a bunch of people. It's a series of words that I know in the I fought him. Strings together in ways, that makes sense. I wouldn't say fought because I sort of beat him really easily and then I ran away. Oh, you killed him? No, no. I just pushed him up a building and then I thought that was enough for the day, so I went home. What point? Cassandra looks over her shoulder of this.
Starting point is 02:55:57 It's a shame you're not as tall as your tails, small one. Well, thank you. No. Take that as a compliment. No. Don't worry. No. No.
Starting point is 02:56:08 No. Before we cross the precipice into this under, what is it? Undercroft. Undercroft you're referring to you. Percival, we all have fought with you this whole time, and you know that we have your back and that we're with you in this 100%. But I'd like our enemies to know that as well. So with your permission, I will cast seeming on all of us, and I make the girls look like Cassandra and the boys look like.
Starting point is 02:56:35 and the boys look like Percy. So I can't give us all the white hair. You crazy mother-paw! And if possible, I'd like to emblaze in the sign of the rebellion on our chests in sort of an awesome Superman glowing. All right. That's awesome.
Starting point is 02:56:54 That's awesome. Within a moment. We're like super-careful. Scanlon's arcane mastery. All of you form into a small battalion of Percy's in Cassandra's armored up. Is he a big Percy? Yes.
Starting point is 02:57:08 He would have to be, yeah, because he still stays similar to his actual size. So if Percy was a little thicker and a little taller. Percy's been hitting the Royates. Yep. What is Trinket? A bear with two streaks of white hair. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:57:23 It's like a San Rio version of Cassandra. And he's still like he's wearing the little circle glasses. Yeah, with the little glasses. We are all Dorolo's today. He's a hello trinket. Hello Trinket. Hello Trinket.
Starting point is 02:57:34 Hello, Trinket. Oh. Oh. Which of Cassandra, it's a monic. Looks around very confused for second. Curious, yes. But abrasive, right? You're put off by it.
Starting point is 02:57:49 So it works. Possibly confused? It's... Abrasiveness is his most powerful weapon. I'm beginning to see. Well then, she pulls short sword out. Shall we? Are we like going in?
Starting point is 02:58:03 Are we like going in to find? We're going into the cabin. I am stealthing. I'm stealthing. Is all we all? One roll stealth checks. Should I cast Pass Without a Trace? Yeah, I'm going to use Pass Without Trace because I don't have a lot of second level spells.
Starting point is 02:58:17 Okay. Oh yeah, please. Yeah, plus 10 to your stealth. Oh, really? Yeah. Thank God. Boom. Natural 20.
Starting point is 02:58:26 You're welcome. 26. Natural 20. 30. Natural 20. Yeah. Oh, natural 20. Oh, natural 20 plus.
Starting point is 02:58:34 30 plus whatever your bonus is. Yeah. That's worth the bonus. That's, no, that's 29. No, that's 29 for 20. Oh, you. 39 for me. I'm just outstaffing you.
Starting point is 02:58:45 I came from my fucking cloak, man. Do we all get plus 10? Yeah. Yes. Oh, then 29. I'll be all right in a week. Twenty-eight. Twenty-one.
Starting point is 02:58:54 I can talk about it. Before we go in, I go Vax. Oh. How do you know it's him? Just. That's on point. Vacht? Yes, it's me.
Starting point is 02:59:08 Yes, it's me. Vax. Yes. No, no. I just, I... Yes, it's me, Vax. Yeah, yeah, I'm over here. What do you need?
Starting point is 02:59:22 It's me. What is me? It's me. It's me. This is really creepy because it's brother and sister talking to each other right now. right now. It looks like Percival and Kazan. We're all being uncomfortable by now, by the way.
Starting point is 02:59:38 We're all, is there anybody who's not made uncomfortable by this? This was supposed to be a passing comment and it's turned into a thing. Pass it, pass it. Pass the comment. Be careful. Of course, Caleb. He will be. God damn it. You can't do this anymore. Carry on, carry on. Just go, let's go. Can we go? Oh, sir. Sister Vex, do you mind giving me? me that gun again.
Starting point is 03:00:09 Shut up. That'll be no problem at all. You can't have it. Why? Because I'm three feet tall. Because I want it. Oh, it's the body switching episode. Right.
Starting point is 03:00:24 Let's go. Let's go. Continuing down to John McOck, a long set of white stone-constructed stairs descend for about 45 feet before they level off into the Dorolo Mausoleum, a long hallway continues forward that contains two ten by ten stone structures that contain the entombed bodies of previous generations of Dorlos, with six passages, three on each side that split off of this main hallway that contain their own stone encapsulated corpses. This is a place of silent prayer and showing appreciation for the previous families. Not all of them were full and there were extensions planned as the family
Starting point is 03:01:15 grew, but the first thing you notice is all of the tomb doors are open. Is you know holding a torch light source going through this? He's got his flaming war hand. Yeah, I'll light up my hands. Okay, so the two of you are the center-I think I still have a torch actually. I'm carrying it with you through that. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So you have enough light sources to keep a general idea of what's going on. A lot of you guys have Dark Vision too, so you're a pretty decent range. I have no light vision. So what's the margin order here, guys?
Starting point is 03:01:56 Just so I know continuing down this path. I feel like I'll go, Percy Cassandra, Cassandra, Cassandra, Percy, Percy, Percy. Boy girl, boy girl, boy girl. I'm gonna perception ahead, so I'll be towards the front. Towards the front? How about Grog in second place? Big sponge.
Starting point is 03:02:11 Trinket staying with you or staying back? He's gonna stay further back. Put me in a happy middle. Brog's second. Gilaith is he's in the middle. She's lucky Pierre. All right. The rest of you guys. Trinket's staying close to Scanlan. Okay. Scanlan, you're staying towards the back? I guess so. All right. Percy, the backs?
Starting point is 03:02:31 I'll be behind grog as well. I'll be in the back with my sister. All right, and this is Cassandra. Oh, no. She's so drunk. This is like a flying V formation you guys are pushing in here. Go home, Doreland. Drunk. All right, so you progress to the Undercroft, quietly as possible. You notice as you get past the first section, you look to your right and left,
Starting point is 03:03:03 and the inside of these small, like, cubby offshoots that contain these separate 10 by 10 stone tombs. The walls have shelves, kind of burden to it in which there are urns and small, gems and offerings, things that were kind of buried alongside the family members as part of remembrance. Yeah, Ninogo Skyremembert. Not fun. Not fun. I wasn't going to do it. Once again, you see the doors are open, and what you can tell, the stone lids on the tombs are pulled off and kind of to the side.
Starting point is 03:03:43 Across the way, as you move towards the center of the room to the second set of openings, you can see the far wall, which it ended. It ended. The room ends in the far side, but there is about a 15, 20 foot wide and about a 10 to 15 foot tall hole burrowed into the far wall. And the closer you get, you see large piles of dirt that fill one side of the room or put off to the side, as if these pieces of this dig were discarded, and there was a trail of dirt across the ground that appears to have not been very well clean to show that dirt was being moved in and out of this area. You also see that, you also see, as you push towards the kind of two-thirds into the room, broken pieces of white stone that have been carved into what looks like parts of walls or pillars, support things that failed in their construction and just broke and were kind of tossed and discarded to the side. Make a perception
Starting point is 03:04:39 check. Oh. Oh. Natural 20. Jesus. Oh, nice. What the fie-fucks. You might have to count. I had a one today. A-1. A1. I had A1. Someone, one of your critters out there has to get Towson a really, really pretty new D20 that he has to use going forward. That's shapeways.com. Not that one. Not that one.
Starting point is 03:05:08 All right, so what do you get? 29. 12. 26. I don't remember. It wasn't very good. 13. Okay.
Starting point is 03:05:19 Those of you... It wasn't as good as any of that. You glance and you find two of these slivers of this material you don't recognize and part of this broken stone. It's like a dark green glass, about a half an inch to an inch thick in slivers. You only find a small scattering few, and it has a grainy texture to it. And you kind of take a look at it, and it's opaque. It's transparent. You can see shapes through it, but it's opaque enough to the point where it distorts a little bit of the visual and color behind it. Can I do a nature check on this? Is this similar to the broken, kind of broken glass that I collected before?
Starting point is 03:06:06 Which broke glass is like? I don't know. I just have broken glass. I feel like that was the red stones or something from before. There was some sort of like... There was that sea of glass. Yeah, we were in like some cavern or like... Oh, the sea of bone and glass? Okay, yeah. It is not similar to that. However, those who are trained in Arcana, you can go and make an Arcana roll.
Starting point is 03:06:29 Trained in Arcana. What is this? How do you know if you're trained in Arcana? Negative 2. You would have filled in, if you have the provision. The dot? The dot. Oh.
Starting point is 03:06:41 Oh, 11. Oh, the dot. You have really no idea what this glass is. I grab it back. That was just me. I'm the only Arcana trained person in. That's it. Kita, I think of it.
Starting point is 03:06:57 Wow. Sorry, guys. Can I try a nature check on it? Sure. It's not going to tell your shit, but sure. Especially, yeah. She can see you. It's glass, and most glass you understand is designed by usually sand or other materials
Starting point is 03:07:17 that a high temperature or some sort of process is melted and fused. So it's manufactured. manufactured. It appears to be, or naturally occurred, and the structure of it has this kind of bumpy, wavy, it's not like smooth glass. Like when lightning hits sand? Kind of. But you're not sure what it actually is.
Starting point is 03:07:39 I wonder if this was holding that acid. I wonder if something very, very hot. That's what I'm wondering. I'm wondering if it's like a symptom of something. When they burn the white stone with the acid or something? Do I see any recent tracks around here? It doesn't look like people came down here. Concentraping.
Starting point is 03:07:56 of white stone. Make a survival check. Or what the magic? With advantage because you're crazy ranger trick. 13. You see tracks here and there, some pressure than others. Yeah. How many of us found this? Well, so we saw it and they've got one. Yeah, you've got one piece. The first is you or the other? Second piece, yeah.
Starting point is 03:08:25 Want to burn one? I walk away from the group. Could I try it? All the way to the back and I take it. To where you. Where we came from? Yeah, towards what's behind us? Like what is it just tunnel back, so I? You mean the way path you're going? Yeah, I push through the back of the group to the back.
Starting point is 03:08:45 Okay. What's behind us? Where you just came from, is the stairs that lead us to the castle. I see Vex looking around. Can I look for tracks as well? I'm proficient in survival and I never use it. Sure. Natural twilight.
Starting point is 03:09:03 Oh, shit. It really is. While you sit there inspecting the dirt. It looks like there's some tracks here, but I don't know when it's... Grog, you immediately see a cluster of recent footprints, probably a day old at most that lead in towards the tunnel. Looks like the prints are of seven individuals. Feet are fairly wide, masculine and heavy in step. One gate appears to be smaller, thinner, and more feminine.
Starting point is 03:09:40 How many tombs are open around us? Eight. Total in this room. Should we check the tombs? They're already open and empty. You want to make a perception check? Oh, shit. Now all of us? Ten. 28? 25. 20. 18. Okay, 20 and above. Would that be just you two?
Starting point is 03:10:11 20. Oh yeah, three. All right. So you three, you notice the temperature drop, ever so slightly in the room. And in the dark and shadow, you kind of look around and you see what appears to be some sort of ethereal mass drifting. Damn it. God damn it, here we go again. We've got a company. There is one round. that you three get to act, the rest of yours, have a surprise round right now. What kind of mist?
Starting point is 03:10:38 Bad, deadly ghost mist. What kind of mist? So Grog, a miasma. Bexraub, you're checking this. You guys are back here. This here. Bax, you're back here. This way.
Starting point is 03:10:53 Trinkets up with you. And Scanlon, you're. I was in the back. I'm in back. So you're over here with these guys. You see one drifts out. from this side. Another drifts out from this side. Another drifts in from this side. Did they're like undead ghouly guys?
Starting point is 03:11:18 There is a cold chill runs down the spine of keeleth and Vax as they've encountered enemies similar to this in the past. Is that fucking shit that turned us? All right. Let's roll some initiatives. Just those three, right? Just those three. I feel like an asshole. I'm not an asshole. Shut the fuck up. I feel like an asshole.
Starting point is 03:11:46 Get out. Okay, hold on. I'm changing dice. I'm changing dice. Yeah, I'm banning that E20 for the rest of the game. I'm changing dice. It's bullshit. All right.
Starting point is 03:11:56 Makes no sense, yes. It's a hollow die. It's a hollow die. There's nothing to be weighted on it. It's a whiffle die. And now it's a will a one. And now it's just you. Okay, so initiatives now.
Starting point is 03:12:12 28. Okay. 14. Okay. 15. Thank you for that. Thank you. I can't believe I did that.
Starting point is 03:12:22 Roll one on it. All right. First, you're at first. You glance around and you can see the two, and he's going to pointing towards you, towards Kieleth, and you glance over your shoulder and see one kind of drifting out of the distance towards Vax. I yell, look out, and I take several steps towards Vax. There? Actually, on the other side of the pillar so that I can actually see the one that's getting
Starting point is 03:12:51 towards him. There? Yeah. You'll have to be able to see those. And this one actually would block your view to that one, because these are about 10 feet tall. These are the little sections here. So right now you would be able to see these two here and barely see this one. It would have three quarters cover, which you ignore the sharpshooter.
Starting point is 03:13:10 I know. I want to back up into that corner, though, just to get away from them. Over here? Yeah, over here. Okay, so you can see one of them right now. I'll take, I'll take, yeah, screw it. I'll take shots with the pepper box. Okay.
Starting point is 03:13:29 I'll take my first shot. Go forth. That can't be right. Just not checking. 20, natural 20. Okay. With a different die? Of course, with a different die.
Starting point is 03:13:40 Shut the fuck up. Are you? You're the Jesus. I'm the devil. I am the devil. It's that smoke monster in you. I have come to do the devil's work. Yeah.
Starting point is 03:13:49 No, that's just a pretty picture. So all of you're going to conventions to meet Towson in the future, make sure you get a nice long hold of his hands, so you can roll better too. Yeah, we touch my eyes. He'll be like, I will lick your dye. It will be ridiculous.
Starting point is 03:13:59 That's how I blessed to lick both of them. So, uh... Alright, so is your first attack? Second attack? First attack. All gets the same guy? I'm just want to, I want to take one. Yeah, that's all against the same guy.
Starting point is 03:14:12 Okay, go for it. First attack is, uh... Don't shoot your guns. 22 points of damage? Okay, is this with the element or not? No, no element. Okay, you fire.
Starting point is 03:14:24 Just passes through it with no effect. Oh, fuck, I'm misty dudes. Oh, what? Damn misty dudes. Sorry, with the critical. I spin. I don't know why. Shoot with fire.
Starting point is 03:14:39 Okay. What the fuck? Get out! Get out! Get out. Take a picture. Taking a picture. Get out.
Starting point is 03:14:48 You're the anti-weeat. He's had like eight to that. How many is that? I don't know. Like, crit roll stats, how many is that? Tell us. I know you've been counting. This is...
Starting point is 03:14:59 Ridiculous. Go to Vegas. I'll put it on Instagram later. Go to Vegas. I've never been to Vegas. I don't gamble. I need to go. I need to go.
Starting point is 03:15:09 Okay. You are the chosen one. Play craps. D&D Casino. D&D Casino. Make it happen, guys. I know one of you can. Okay.
Starting point is 03:15:17 All right. All right. And so which one is this? This is fire elemental. Okay. That's 14 points of damage plus three damage of fire. That's including the crit damage. Including the crit damage.
Starting point is 03:15:35 I rolled really poorly on my damage. Okay, so this one, the bullet does fit its form, the burst of flame. The bullet converted to magical due to the nature of the chamber. And you can see its form, it disperses for a second, and then reform, continuing. We need magic. I'm taking my last shot. Okay. It was seven, by the way. Seven-twenties. That's a game. That's stupid. Okay, see that's better. So three. Fifteen. Fifteen does it. All right. They're easy to hit at least. They're easy to hit. That's such a shitty roll.
Starting point is 03:16:11 Twelve points of ice damage. Okay. The ice shot then tears through it. Doing the additional image, you see part of its form like crystallized from a little bit of ectoplasm, it's floating there, but it's not enough to actually disperse its form. It continues pushing forward. You would have to reload to use those. I'm out, so yeah. Okay. That ends your turn. It's now there to go. This one drifts forward to Keela. This one drifts forward to Grog. That's with our surprise round. Please say we have a surprise round. No, no, no. You guys are moving that everyone else is surprised.
Starting point is 03:16:51 So if they got an issue. Oh, we're the only three that aren't surprised. Oh, that sucks. So, unless you do anything against surprise? No, less surprising. That's true. All right. So, all right, I need Keyleth and you make a Constitution saving throw. Sorry, no, a charisma saving throw. Charisma saving throw. That's not great.
Starting point is 03:17:15 I'm almost sleeping through bonuses. Okay, so that's 10. I've been here before you... Did you roll already? Yeah. I did. What did you get? A 10. Okay. The ghost reaches out and embraces Keelith disappears into her form, and she shivers for a second, and it is no longer visible. Keila's eyes all of a sudden flare up with a ghostly blue glow, and she turns around,
Starting point is 03:17:49 looking at the group with the hunger you haven't seen in her eyes. I need, for those who see it as well, by the way, I should have made this happen before. I need you guys to immediately, after seeing these ghosts, make a wisdom-saving throw. What for us? Everyone or just the ones that see it. We're all immune to fear because of the feast. That's right, so never mind. That doesn't matter. Yeah.
Starting point is 03:18:14 Good reminding. So no, I was right then. Yes, you were. You're always right. All right. Christmas saving throw? Christmas saving throw? Correct. This isn't like a charm thing.
Starting point is 03:18:25 And Grog, it's good. Is this charm or is this? Uh, Nope. Okay. This is not a charm. Okay, so 12 for me, my court as well. 12?
Starting point is 03:18:38 12? Yeah. Okay. It's with luck. God damn it. Oh, it's too. Yeah, it's two, I like. We're going to die.
Starting point is 03:18:51 Brog's batting for the other team. for the other team. What do you roll? Poor. We don't even have a crown grip of! Wait, this is against charisma? Yeah. Jesus.
Starting point is 03:19:04 And with that, three of your teammates turn around their eyes intensely glowing with some sort of a weird ghostly glow. 3V3, man, battle royale. Let's do this. Oh, God. He's got to fight them? He's going to call it. So, everyone else will initiative. Oh, God. You have to fight them.
Starting point is 03:19:27 How is that going to happen? This is going to go so poorly. Not us, not the possessed ones, right? No, you guys are already on the initiative. I know, Rog, you still do. I still roll initiative? Yeah, for yourself. For yourself, what?
Starting point is 03:19:39 Oh, wait. I'm possessed, though. Roll your initiative. What has happened? You have to roll initiative to see when you attack all of us. Yeah. Well, it's a good it was a one. Okay.
Starting point is 03:19:58 Oh, wait, we roll initiative too? We're re-rolling initiative. It's three of us? Everyone who hasn't rolled yet rolls now, so. Oh. 15. 15, okay. Unless I have to roll with advantage.
Starting point is 03:20:10 Do you have to roll with advantage? You would, yeah. Oh, good! Two. All right, and what did you get? 13. 13. All right.
Starting point is 03:20:23 Percy, you're up first. Help us. I mean. We don't have a cleric. How do you have, you, uh... I think you guys like, uh, there's... Well, let us have to figure out, right? He cast like, turn undead, we don't have that.
Starting point is 03:20:42 Was that when Kashaw was here? Yeah. That was Kasha. Yeah, he cast Turn on Dead. Awesome, he's not here right now. What are you gonna do? What are we gonna do? Um, you gonna do?
Starting point is 03:20:56 Alright, who's the most dangerous? Does Cassandra have any, like... That's my first action. I'm gonna use my bonus action to turn to my sister and go, What the hell do we do? She kind of looks at you a little bit frustrated. Please tell me she trained in cleric. Please tell me she's like multi-classed.
Starting point is 03:21:23 She looks about kind of annoying and goes, I'm sorry, I'm not a holy woman. Fuck! I have no symbols, I have no power, I have nothing. Let's see what we can do. All right. down on you. Um, I'm.
Starting point is 03:21:40 You guys have that hold water, right? I'm yeah, no, I'm backing up. I'm gonna do my best to back up into the tomb right here. Right there? Keep going to my right until the drop off. No, to behind me. And I'm gonna back up into the tomb. Okay.
Starting point is 03:21:58 Into there? No, no, no. Up in, this way. Towards you, the other side. There we go. There we go. I'm putting my back against the wall. Okay, so you're up against the side.
Starting point is 03:22:06 I mean like that column. Take a little. Just take the damn laser pointer. Yeah, there. There you go. Okay. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 03:22:14 I'm unloading two shots. I'm reloading and unloading and unloading two magical shots at Vax. Okay. I'm going to. It's going to burn some fucking points. Yeah. I'm going to burn some fucking points.
Starting point is 03:22:31 Okay. What am I going to do? We're fucked. So. Do your worst. First shot is... Fuck, I'm using the old die. Ah, it's so loud.
Starting point is 03:22:48 I've already rolled two 20s on that one. First shot is a... I'm shooting to get Vaxe to drop his knives. Okay. Running a great point to drop his knife. Good idea, good idea. It's two, so you only knock... One of them out of his hand. The one that doesn't auto re-auto return.
Starting point is 03:23:08 They all do? They all do? Yeah. That crazy belt man. Shooting him in the face, fuck it. Yeah. And my gun jams. You did that.
Starting point is 03:23:20 I touched it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't mean to touch it. Turn on and holding your gun out at Vax, even with this ghostly forearm, you're like, it's so hard to do so, and you close your eyes for a second and you pull the trigger. And in a weird way, you're both immediately distraught and at the same time relieved that the gun jams. So that's your turn. Yep.
Starting point is 03:23:43 All right. Fax. You're up first. Two ones. Ghost drives you to turn. God damn it. Up to him as he's like trying to fix the gun and just daggers out. Go ahead and make your two attacks against him.
Starting point is 03:24:03 No sneak attack damage because he's not currently. The first was a 13. The second was a 22. Pretty sure the 22 hits. Appreciate the 22 hits. 22 hits. Okay. So go ahead and roll damage against first. All right, so take eight points of slashing damage, or piercing damage.
Starting point is 03:24:22 As you feel the blade pierced into the side, doesn't get too far in, but you haven't been in the receiving end of his daggers before, and it's still a thought, seeing what they do to others. All right. At the end of your turn, I want you to go ahead and make a religion check. Oh, yeah. Right, come on. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 03:24:47 Magic fingers. Magic love. Do you want Taliesin to lick it? 18? What I mean? That gentle glow left behind, that slight sliver of Pike's essence that went into your symbol of Sarenrae flares for a second. It flares again instinctually, and for a moment in your head in which darkness has taken your vision, you feel your body, you can feel it moving on its own, but you have no control. You hear Pike's voice whisper in your ear from a distance. It says, Max, it's okay. At which point suddenly you feel the coldness sucked out from you. The symbol flares for a second, and the ghost is thrust out of your form.
Starting point is 03:25:29 Oh, yeah! That is your turn, however. All right. Scanlan, you're up. I read my scroll of Spirit Guardians. I read my scroll of Spirit Guardians. Spirit guardians. Looked at Laura. And I call them forth to protect us in this moment.
Starting point is 03:25:57 Hakuna Makoides. Hakuna Matata. Korum satiasti. I don't know how this works. That's okay. They attack bad things around me, and they don't like bad things. So I thought maybe that would be good.
Starting point is 03:26:18 You know when I got here, Liam was beating his player's handbook. Spirit Guardians. The thing I bought from Gilmore. Right? Didn't I buy that? Scroll of Spirit Guardians? Yeah, you did. Oh my God. I'm having a hard attack. They attack anything evil within 15 feet of me. Indeed.
Starting point is 03:26:40 Necrotic damage. There you go. Speer Guardians, yes. So you call forth Spirits, protect you for it for 15 people. The duration for 10 minutes. What's your... Your alignment is... Good? Yeah. So you would have... Good-ish.
Starting point is 03:27:04 Sort of like... devious good? Yeah. Okay, so here's what you do. You actually use this to create these guardians and... I mean, the spell has them in use either. To a distance of 15 feet. So you have to choose things within 15 feet of you. So you have these two right here that are...
Starting point is 03:27:20 They're both within 15 feet of me, aren't they? Mm-hmm. Yeah. So these guys, their speed is halved, and when... When they take their turn, they get 3D8 damage? It's a very confusing spell. When they move within 15 feet of you, their speed is halved, and at the start, or when they enter the area, they make a wisdom saving throw or take radiant damage.
Starting point is 03:27:51 Is that now or when they move? It'll be at the end of their turn. Yeah, radiant damage. That's awesome. That's really good. No. Okay. You made a good call. Nice, dude. All right. Okay. Do I get a bonus action?
Starting point is 03:28:06 You get a bonus section, yes. Okay. Who's not undead right now? You? I've already inspired you once. Sure, I'll inspire you again. I got another. I'll just, this time I'll just go. I feel really inspired. I feel really inspired. Take the lamesty ten you've ever accepted. That's harmonica is not your favorite instrument. All righty.
Starting point is 03:28:39 Great. Oh, God. That brings us to Keevith's turn. Now. Nice scroll. Should you squeak? Maybe. You don't know.
Starting point is 03:28:59 Shut up. So it turns toward the... turns towards Scanlan having cast that, and you go ahead and make a staff attack against him. Uh, uh, uh, I, I, I just, I do a little doo-op. Badoom, doom, doom, do, do, and that's my, uh, my cutting words to try to distract her from our attack. Okay. Go for it. I roll a 19.
Starting point is 03:29:25 Do I roll now? Oh yeah, you roll a D10 and detract that from her attack. I roll the 19, so I just roll. Two. So it's a 17. What's your A-Cee? What's your A-Cid? I have a 17 arbor pod.
Starting point is 03:29:36 Oh, no. Oh, wait. Sorry. Oh, we. No, that's a 10. Yeah, no, that's right. It's not a lot of damage, you promise. Oh, see, even better.
Starting point is 03:29:47 Four damage. Oh, that's, I shouldn't have even wasted. It's out. It's just your little staff. Pop. You're adorable. I'm still doing my granny routine. Okay, now it has to make a wisdom saving throw,
Starting point is 03:30:00 which it succeeds in, so it still takes half as much damage. So roll 3D8? Oh, me? Yes. Oh, yes, of course I will. I will do that right now with these D8 that I have. Do you that one, too? 12.
Starting point is 03:30:20 Okay. Just throwing that. All ready? I think I wanted it to you. So this burst of radiant energy kind of burns around her. You take 12 points of radiant damage. That brings us to... 12 points?
Starting point is 03:30:38 Yep. So Vex, you're up. I'm trying to work on my spirit. I'm going to work on my spirit. See Grog turned to you with this like wicked grin at his face just glowing a pale, whiteish blue, as he brings the hammer up in the air. Oh, God. Wait, okay, I can't see what he's.
Starting point is 03:30:54 Am I, like, close by him? You're right next to him. I'm right next to him. You're right there. Oh no. I come back away from him. He's going to get an attack on me. gonna get an attack on me.
Starting point is 03:31:08 Yep. But I'm really needed to put some distance. Maybe an attack of opportunity? Wait, wait, can I? Okay, that's good. 13. You don't hit me? Whiff, the hammer hits the side of the stonework,
Starting point is 03:31:24 cracking it a little. Oh, that's my mausoleum. What are you doing, Max? Um, I'm gonna have, watch the built-ins. Trinket, um, can't, are they lined up? Is he lined up with anybody? Trinket? Yeah.
Starting point is 03:31:38 Just Keeleth right now. Damn. You can't... Cannonball through Tog and Keelith? You can, but it'll get Scanlan as well. Can you dodge Scanlan? We'll see. Let's do this.
Starting point is 03:31:50 I always love that bear. Right, you deserve it. He's doing it. Okay. All right. Trinket backs up a little bit to get enough room onage. Kieleth, swing, and tack? Oh, for... To Trinket?
Starting point is 03:32:06 Trinke has to get enough distance to actually build up momentum. Ooh, I think that hits. 20 total? 20 total is exactly the AC. Scrode roll damage and Trinket. It's okay. It's not a lot. Nine? Threekin takes nine points of bludgeon damage from the staff. Oh, half. Right, yeah, because it's bludgeoning, so five points.
Starting point is 03:32:24 Trinket then rolls four, bov-roll attacks on Grog, Scanlan, and Keyleth. Trinket bowling. I should have, oh, well, okay. So, 8 plus 16 is 24. For who? For who? Keelef, Scanlon and Grog?
Starting point is 03:32:51 Okay, so Kieliff is 24. Scanlan is 18. Hits. And Grog is 18. Misses. No, sorry, Grog is 20. Hits. All three hit.
Starting point is 03:33:03 All right, so no tax opportunity against Trinket. Go ahead and roll damage. Okay. And everyone takes that damage. I don't know what to roll for. cannonball damage because I've never actually gotten to it. Oh, oh, oh, oh, I have this. It is 2D6. 2D6. Plus four. Okay.
Starting point is 03:33:17 For each person? Yep. Oh, okay. So, 10 for Keylet. 10 points of blizzard damage. 7 plus 4 is 11 for Scanlon. Less for Grog. For eight. Eight points damage to Grog. But while he's doing, I don't
Starting point is 03:33:39 I don't get to shoot an arrow. Yes, I do, I get to shoot an arrow. The bonus, you do. Yeah. So I'm going to shoot an arrow as Trinket is hitting Grok. Okay. Oh, God, it leads a little. Um, 14 doesn't hit him.
Starting point is 03:33:56 No. It just kicks the shoulder, gleams off. Carbs a little wound across this chest, but not enough to do any damage. And to turn, Grog. And now Trinket is close to me then. Does he go through them and get the next week? Trinket, the line slams into Grog at the end of it.
Starting point is 03:34:11 of it, so it gets now between the three of them. Oh, shit. So, Grog, as a ghost, you just got shot and slammed by a bear. I want you to go ahead and roll 1D20. Oh, he's going to see if you rage. 15. 15. Your attention goes to Vex as opposed to trinket. You move out of the way.
Starting point is 03:34:36 And he takes 3D8. That's true. Eight plus nine, 17. Well, it has to make a, other creatures make a wisdom save. Fails, so yeah, it takes 3D8. Yep. Oh, God. 17.
Starting point is 03:34:56 17 to hit? No, I just hit you with 17 points of damage. All right, you're feeling the ghostly form. You take the damage to well, but so does the spirit. The form inside is you're feeling this dissipation. Oh. All right, so you make your two attacks against Vax. Shit.
Starting point is 03:35:17 Oh, that's not awesome. That's not awesome. That's 17. Doesn't hit. That does. 24. Yeah, let's go ahead and roll damage against Fexam. The first hammer swing, you're like ready for it. Swing, swing backward. It goes long. Grog, grog, no, no, no.
Starting point is 03:35:36 20 on the first. 20 points of damage. The first one didn't hit, did it? The first one didn't hit, so you only get the 20. Oh, just the 20. Just 20. As the first one misses, you pull back, saying Grog isn't trying to stop him,
Starting point is 03:35:47 but the hammer still slams you into the side. You don't have time to move out of it. the way and it just pushes you up against the wall. You'd land on your feet and you can feel like the pulsing of the blood broken beneath the skin. That ends. Grog's go, Percy, you're up. Um, hi. I saw what just happened, right? Yeah. I'm going to try and fix my gun. Go for it. At fixes. All righty. Um, are you better? Good, then let's deal with this. I'm going to start diving around the column, just to get away from the Rafe. Around here? Yeah, because I don't have a shot this round.
Starting point is 03:36:30 Okay. So you move around that way. Yeah. Cool. All right. That ends your turn. That ends my turn. It's now their turn.
Starting point is 03:36:39 They're just doing their turns there. This one currently loses interest in you and drifts. It's coming to three, four, five, six, seven, eight. It just kind of passes through the stone. Moves through and appears on the other side. appears on the other side. I need you to go to make a charisma saving throw. I have advantage on Christmas saving throws right now. Do I not? Oh yeah, because she casts...
Starting point is 03:37:09 Not there anymore, sorry. Yeah. She dropped it when she picked up the conservation spell, wrapping the gunned. Okay. Roll high, golden snitch. No worries. That was ability checks on saving throw. Oh, never mind. That's okay. What's my charisma saving? Oh boy. No. I rolled a natural one. You did this. This is the The third natural one. You touched it? That's why I'm superstitious about my dice.
Starting point is 03:37:33 I touched it. He also touched mine and I rolled a three. I'll come back to you next and after Thanksgiving, baby. And with that, Those dark and the spiritual intent takes over your body. All you can feel is you feel like you're being puppeted and you have no control over yourself. Like you're hidden captured within your own form. All right, then his turn Vax syrup.
Starting point is 03:37:57 Okay. You still feel like kind of the residual warmth and your love kind of pulsing. All right. I'm going to click my boots together. I'm going to move towards him. I'm going to take... Towards Percy? Towards Percy. Shit. I'm going to take a keen dagger and stick it into his gut. And then I'm going to take the glove with the symbol of Saron Ray and punch him in the nose. Okay.
Starting point is 03:38:32 So roll for the... I like that you're violent instead of just going healing hands. You go, fuck you. Can I just say... This is... This is... This is Percy beating up Percy right now. That's really.
Starting point is 03:38:45 Yeah. You're being attacked and stabbed by yourself. It's weird. Funny for the dagger. I'm not reading too much into this. That hits. Seven. So a punch is just strength modifier, right?
Starting point is 03:38:57 This is not a metaphor. 17 for the... All right. So you go ahead and roll damage for the dagger. Yeah. What's your AC? 18. 18, okay.
Starting point is 03:39:10 Nine. Nine. Take nine points of piercing damage as the dagger stabs into your stomach as you swing to haul the punch off the body. Out of the way. Take the punch. All right, that ends your turn. Wait, how far did I go? You were there, so it was 15 feet.
Starting point is 03:39:30 15 feet. I'm going to spring back and run as far as I can in the other direction, around the corner towards the rest. All right. That brings us to the scaling. I walk between Grog and Kieleth, or hop between Grog and Keyleth, maintaining my 15-foot distance. Okay.
Starting point is 03:39:52 Even more between. There? Yeah, and I'll thunder wave them both. Oh, no, and I hit Trinket. All right. All right, Constitution Saving Throw from Grog and Keelith and Trinket. What'd you roll? 12.
Starting point is 03:40:17 Grok? Rolled in 18. Yeah. What's your DC? 19. All right, so roll damage and what's trinkets? We have a Constitution saving through of eight. Oh, 26.
Starting point is 03:40:31 Okay, so you take half damage. Trinket rolled in 11. Okay. Eight points of damage. Okay. Okay, so you take eight points of damage, grog takes four, Trinquet takes eight. Are we trying to kill our friends here?
Starting point is 03:40:53 Yeah, get us. Get them unconscious so they come out. But then if they're unconscious, the ghosts come out and then they could possess us. It's great. But they're also, you're taking your radiant damage. All right, Keelith, top of the turn, roll a- Do we don't get radiant damage from that?
Starting point is 03:41:08 No, you just get it. So you take three to eight points of radiant damage. Oh, I do. From the spirit guard. Yes. The spirit guardians. Oh, and I'll also inspire Vax. Rip out someone's tongue and I'll know you.
Starting point is 03:41:22 Kill someone dead and I'll show you. You got those moves with dagger. You got those moves with dagger. You got those moves like dagger. Okay. 13. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 03:41:39 So 13 points of radiant damage to you and to, okay. 62 hit points. All right, Scanlan, that's your turn. Kielith. Yep. You turn around as you see Vax Rush up, look of fear and intensity in his face. You see her turn around with this twisted grin in her face, and she brings you a staff up and swings it towards your head.
Starting point is 03:42:07 Go ahead and roll her attack. Baseball. Oh, no. Um, uh, 17. What's your AC? It is 18. 18. As she swings, you duck, and her staff, smacks against the stone wall of the,
Starting point is 03:42:22 mausoleum. That ends your turn, bringing us to Vex. And I'm in a fight with Grog. Correct. Okay. This is totally awesome. Oh, wait. What? Cass.
Starting point is 03:42:41 She's not doing shit. She's not doing any. I forgot out her to the initiative. That's my own fault. I just thought she was being a bitch. I'll give her a couple rounds here a second. Anyway, finish up. Trinket runs forward and tries to pull Grog's focus so that I can back away. Okay, so trinket... R-ro-ro-ro-ro-ro-ro. He tries to like grapple him or something. Can he do anything to make him grog not be able to attack me if I run away?
Starting point is 03:43:10 Can he try to like knock him down or something? Like jump up on his back and knock him over. Also go use an action to make a trip attack. Sure, why not? Okay. Which would be a roll in athletics check. Okay. Yeah, no problem.
Starting point is 03:43:24 I'm imagining the bear doing mild calisthenics. This is definitely going to be great. An athletics check for me? Yeah, or for Trinket? Okay. Uh, 12. Make a strength saving throw dog. Oh, so well.
Starting point is 03:43:37 Okay. Oh, that's a 26. Yeah, Trinket Rush, someone tries to knock you off the feet and you just, no effect. You still have a bonus action in your movement if you want to. I guess I'm going to try to roll. I'm gonna try to roll out of the way. I'm gonna try to duck down and roll out of the way
Starting point is 03:43:56 to make him less likely to hit me. Yeah, the old less likely trick. Yeah. Make an arimatics check. Oh, my dice suck tonight. You're inspired. You guys, I'm inspired, I'm inspired, I'm inspired. That's good, that's good, that's good.
Starting point is 03:44:14 Um, acrobatics. Uh, 28. 28. Uh, Grog, go ahead and roll an attack with disadvantage. Just the hell of it. Uh, 23. Okay, roll damage against Nexas she pulls away from you. The first one was the natural twilight.
Starting point is 03:44:37 You're glad it was disadvantage. Uh, 21. Basically, 29 points of bludging damages, pull away and wrong. Wack! Back hands you with his hammer. Now you can take your bonus action if you want to this time. God damn it. Great, as my bonus action, I'm going to cast.
Starting point is 03:45:01 Kill the lion. Yeah, right. I don't want to use any of my shit. Can you conjure a keg of beer? Ooh. No, I can't. But that's a really good idea. Can you just chuck a beer?
Starting point is 03:45:14 For my bonus action, I'm going to go, um... You can use your bonus action to throw me the gun! Oh! No! Alright, get into your turn. That into your turn. No. Okay.
Starting point is 03:45:29 Cassandra is going to rush up angrily with her short sword out. Oh, good job. Getting help. Rushing up behind Grog. She's going to make a strike. That is going to be 18. What's your armor class? 19.
Starting point is 03:45:47 19. She goes to strike and just whiffs unfortunately. She's going to attack with a dagger she pulls out and her offhand. Rolls a three. I'm giving her a second round because I missed the one round. She's going to inkly pull up again and attempt to strike with both the second time. That will be a 20. That hits. Alrighty. Because Trinkett is evasion, she gets sneak attack damage.
Starting point is 03:46:11 Yay! Oh, she's a rogue. That's eight. Oh, he's totally going to. So you take 27 points of piercing damage. Okay. The sashing damage from the short sword. And then the offhand attack is another three.
Starting point is 03:46:32 is another three, gonna miss. Alrighty, that brings us to Grog. Go ahead and roll another D20. 11. 11. Your attention switches to Cassandra. Go ahead and roll two attacks. Do I get my radiant damage on him?
Starting point is 03:47:01 Oh, that's good. At the top of this turn you do, yeah. Actually, before that happens, go ahead and roll radiant damage. 21. 21 points? With that, as you're reeling up your hammer to strike Cassandra, a burst of radiant energy disintegrates the ghostly presence within your body, and you find your mind coming to you as you're about to go into a down swing to smash Cassandra's head in, and you catch yourself,
Starting point is 03:47:26 Do it anyway, Crog! Dude, don't know, no, no, no, no. She's one of us, she's one of ours. You have your turn now. Oh, I have my turn? Yes. Uh, uh, uh, uh. Crog, I know you don't know what's going on right now, but you're going on.
Starting point is 03:47:41 Killif. Okay. I turn and walk over to Keyleth. Over Cass. Just kick her over as you walked him. And I'm gonna swing my hammer and then over your chest. Go for it. Oh, she's scary.
Starting point is 03:47:57 She's so cute. She's like a little kitty cat. What's your AC, Kilith? 18. She ducks out of the way with this preternatural speed. And one. Wow, 16.
Starting point is 03:48:10 16. Pheel of this ghostly form is too fast for you. The confusion of the whole sequence caused you to not be able to think straight in the moment and you just missed twice. That ends your turn. Grog, Percy. Oh, right, Percy still. Yeah.
Starting point is 03:48:28 He's got guns. Your gun was just fixed, correct? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Do you use a gun or the sword in the Phantom mode? You just finished fixing this and you have a gun. before you, it's going to use it.
Starting point is 03:48:41 Okay. Go ahead and make three attacks against Vex. Vax, I'm eating Vex. I'm going to use my, I'm going to use this die because it's been... Failing? Yeah, I touched it. Use the one that I touched. That's... I think that's...
Starting point is 03:48:53 Well, that's... I can't talk. 21. That hits, but what's applicable? Uncanny Dodge or evasion for a gunshot? Whatever bruises the damage, half. It's not a saving throw, so it would be... Which one that reduces the damage by half? That's uncanny dodge.
Starting point is 03:49:14 That would be uncanny dodge. All right, so attack two more times? 21. Same thing. And. And 26. All right, so roll damage three times, the first one is half. All right.
Starting point is 03:49:32 Thugs. Thirteen. So you take seven damage? Fuck me. 15. Cam, you're rolling really good. 15 pucing damage. And 11.
Starting point is 03:49:43 Okay. We are so strong. We should never find ourselves. All right. That ends. Percy's turn there. Uh... You just don't think you're about a lot.
Starting point is 03:50:02 Vax. You're up. Am I able to slide Romkeleth closer to you into that little alcove or am I too pressed against the wall? No, the other way around her. around her or my pistol. You wouldn't know. Apparently she's an enemy, so you can't move past you. Okay, so. I can make you roll acrobatics check if you want it.
Starting point is 03:50:19 No, that's all right. I flip the daggers over, and I start to wail on the back of Keel's head. Okay. Okay. Kiss or kill. Kiss or kill. 18. Are you doing sneak attack on this?
Starting point is 03:50:32 Yeah. She's adjacent to grog, so yeah. Yeah, yeah, definitely. 18 hits. 18 on the first. The second one is just, uh, 20. It's. They both hit.
Starting point is 03:50:44 So gunwled damage are both. And then. 32 on the last. That's right, yeah, so three hits. Do it with sneak attack. So sneak attack, he's gonna take me down. Three, plus seven is ten. And the ten gets doubled or everything. That is rolls get doubled. Ten, sixteen, twenty one, twenty two, twenty three, twenty five, fifty. Fifty? Fifty for the first hit. She's still alive. I'm still alive. Is it doubled because you rolled the critical? Sneak attack. Sneak attack you just roll the dice. And then no, 25.
Starting point is 03:51:18 In 25, yeah, I was like, no, because... Thank you. No, you were plus nine. Plus nine. Okay, so 25 plus 18. 38. 38. Okay.
Starting point is 03:51:29 So, plus 18 is 43. 43? Yep. What was that just now? 62. 162. 19. Hit points.
Starting point is 03:51:41 And I'm going to use my, I don't care. I'm going to slide around Grog to the side, towards Scanlan. Right there, yeah. Okay. What's up, brother? Ouch. All right. It's your turn.
Starting point is 03:51:55 Scanlan, you're up. I'm up again? Yep. I just went. All right. We're trying to kill our friends, right? Yes, yes, yes, yes. Okay, I'm going to blast them both with lightning, a straight shot through 100 feet.
Starting point is 03:52:15 Through. I can... Two. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. What do I do? 8D6.
Starting point is 03:52:24 And I need Keyleth and Percy to both make dexterity saving throws. It's just a two of us. And I actually have disadvantage on dexterity stuff because of corruption. Oh, 15. 20 for me. 21. You both take half damage. 24.
Starting point is 03:52:43 So you both take 12 points of lightning damage. The bolt strikes through, hitting both of you in the chest, but you both managed to pull out of the way. both managed to pull out of the way just in time to reduce the impact of the spell. And then I'll cast, I'll just as a bonus action, do a little healing word on Vex. Right? You're injured badly, right? I mean, not badly, but... Oh, I'm injured badly? Sorry. Oh, you're injured badly? Would I know that? You could glance over and look at him as he pulled up to you and see him like,
Starting point is 03:53:15 I've got gunshots in my back. Okay. Yeah, so I'll healing words. Yeah, you go ahead and roll the healing points for that. What is it? It's right here. D4 plus five. That's it? So lame.
Starting point is 03:53:30 Seven points. All right. In your turn, Kulith, the top of your turn. Roll 3D8, radian damage. Oh, yes. Oh, this is going to knock you out. That's nine already. Yeah, I'm down.
Starting point is 03:53:47 Six more is 15. I'm done. Okay. Keeliff falls unconscious to the ground as this blast of radiant energy bursts around her as this, you know, spiritual radiant form that's been surrounding the area and stalking the various appointed individuals just slams into her form. As she collapses, the ghost is jettisoned from her body and itself is looking like it's been taking the radiant damage and is having a hard time keeping its corporeal form. All right, that ends Keelith's turn. Keelth, then you should go ahead and roll a death-saving throw? Okay. Okay. Nope. Six. You take one death saving through a failure.
Starting point is 03:54:24 Okay. All right. Vex, you're up. I see the ghosts come out of her. Okay, I'm gonna shoot it with my blazing bowstring. Okay. 16. 16 hits. I won a good one. 17.
Starting point is 03:54:59 Uh, 25. 25. As you pull back the arrow and you see the flames ignite around. on the shaft, you release it. It slams into the ghost and you see its form just disperse from the impact, the arrow is hitting the wall behind it and shattering against the stonework. Awesome. Ghost destroyed. My second attack, I'm going to attack Percy. Can I see him?
Starting point is 03:55:23 Yep, right over there. All right, I'm going to do it. 21. 21 hits. 16. 16 points of damage to you, Percy? 16? Yep.
Starting point is 03:55:38 Cool. That was also through my blazing blue string. So you're using both blazing-boastring abilities right now? Yeah. Okay. So flaming arrow sticks into the shoulder and you feel the flames burning into your body. That's another five. That was another five burning damage. 21?
Starting point is 03:55:52 There you go. I'm still doing fine. I hate these things. It's now. Cass's turn. Cass is having a weird time of the whole process of seeing a bunch of herself and her brothers, like stabbing each other and getting possessed. How do we even know who's who? Stop hit yourself. Stop hit yourself.
Starting point is 03:56:09 Thank you for that. I was almost going there. She's right there and she kind of brings herself around the way. She's not able to take any action since she just kind of sees another of her brother is possessed but clutching the gun in the hand and kind of is like stealing her blade for the moment and doesn't do anything for their turn. Grog, you're up. I see and I run towards me. Oh, I'm going to say. 25.
Starting point is 03:56:41 Is no one that same Ramey fan? Never mind. Oh, yeah. 18? Just the mom in the big. What's your class? 18. Damage on both.
Starting point is 03:56:49 17 for the first one, and 19 for the second one. Okay, so it's 18, 36 points of damage. 36 points of damage. If you're thrown up against the wall and almost pushed over off your feet from the sheer, like, magic damage, it has to be magic damage. Well, it was, it's a magic war hammer. Oh, okay, so it's taking damage too. That's good.
Starting point is 03:57:19 Maybe. Well, I have to be spelt or something. Yeah, there was fire in damage. Oh, really? It's not just fire. I don't know. damage from the guardian, the spirit guardian spell you're doing, is doing the bulk of damage to them. Whether they're inside the form, most everything else is just going straight to the
Starting point is 03:57:37 individual that's killed. Oh, shit. We've just been killing our friends for no reason. Good times. Hey, let's pass our... Hold our round. Percy, you have three more shots of this gun, two of which are magical. I do. So you pull up the gun. You take a step back. Did he get an attack of opportunity? Take an opportunity against Percy? Come on, take it.
Starting point is 03:58:06 Take it down. That's a natural 20. Yes! All right, roll damage. So that's actually the first time I've created on this show. By the way, you get additional dice because the first time you've critically hit on this show. I think so, because I've never doubled my dice.
Starting point is 03:58:23 That's absurd. I know. Because he's on the opposite side. Because he's on the opposite side of... 14, I'm already out. Wait, but... No, roll damage, you want to know what it is. Yeah, go ahead, but I'm out.
Starting point is 03:58:36 18. So, what was the first one? 18 and... You said 14. Okay. You are out. Pursy falls to the ground unconscious, the spirit of shit ascent out the side.
Starting point is 03:58:48 That ends your turn entirely. Does he... Does he... Oh, really? That's a surprise. The ghost is going to shift over... No, it does not get its possession back. No.
Starting point is 03:58:58 It rushes, it's now standing over. It was just a crit. It wasn't hit twice. But it wasn't when he was down. Okay. Oh, Persia, I need you to make a death-saving throw, by the way. Yay! Okay.
Starting point is 03:59:11 The ghost gets pushed out of the body with you on the ground and its position not returned. It reaches down and strikes at you with its withering touch. Oh, for the love of... For its withering touch with the... You take two death-saving throw losses. Whoa! You roll a crit! Well, it's an auto-crit because he's unconscious.
Starting point is 03:59:30 Oh, geez, Louise. Oh, but you passed your first one. I passed my first one. Yes, you. So you have two failures on you? I have two failures and one success. Oh, my God. So guys, guys, heal me.
Starting point is 03:59:41 He'll him. He'll me now. Uh, I start sprinting around that open hallway near Cassandra. I stopped by Cassandra and dagger, dagger, dagger. Do it. First one is 30. Second one is 15, third is a 28. All right, all three hit.
Starting point is 04:00:04 They all hit. They all hit. So we got it, or don't need it yet. 10 plus 17 plus 27 total. 27 damage total. All the magic. All righty. So all daggers strike through its form.
Starting point is 04:00:21 You see it tearing through its ethereal physicality, but it's still holding its form together. It looks damaged, but it's not. It's still holding its form on this plane. Scanlon, you're up. I vault over Keyless. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I ran like, what, 20 feet, 30 feet?
Starting point is 04:00:40 You were here, so I remember. 35. 35? Can I run the rest of the way? The west of the way. The west of the way, through it in front of Percy. Yeah. There, you can, yeah?
Starting point is 04:00:55 Yeah, that's what I want to do. All right. I vault over keyless body using maybe like the right part of her butt cheek to like launch off of them grab a little feel as I go. Like a creepy gnome. Try to get within 15 feet of the thing. Okay. And as my first thing, I will healing word, Mr.
Starting point is 04:01:26 Mr. Talos and Jaffe. Percival de Rollo, De Monaco, DeChico. It's delightful, it's the lovely. Okay. At just at normal level. What a swell night. This is for roll. Nine points.
Starting point is 04:01:43 Nine points. Thank you. Thank you. Your death, same. Nine points. Oh, oh. Oh. Oh.
Starting point is 04:01:51 She's going to burn another fucking thing on this guy. Your aura thing with 15 feet should do it. That's why I know, but that's when he moves, not when I move. So I will mock him. I will say, you're so, you're not even corporeal. You don't, you have no substance. You are, you're a nothing.
Starting point is 04:02:16 You're a nobody. You won't amount to nothing in this world. Thin. Okay. You're a nothing, you're a nobody. What's the DC on that? Back to Jersey, back in mate. Fails, it's saved.
Starting point is 04:02:33 Go ahead and roll 3D4. Let's get it. Kill it. Six. I don't want to do. A mocking group. I would like it to cry. That's all.
Starting point is 04:02:50 As you're shouting this, you can see its ghostly form. Its face suddenly shifts into a face of a person. You are nothing in life and now you're nothing in death. Nothing in death. It calls its memories. You can see its physical form become that of a young adult wearing robes that hold the symbol of the Dorolo crest. You see it look at its hands, and you see it,
Starting point is 04:03:13 look at you, and look at Percy on the ground unconscious. And it just moans out in horror as it suddenly dissipates. Oh, I'm sorry, wait, oh, I didn't mean it. Which one of my ancestors did you just shame to death? Again. The one who possessed you. Okay, fair. Again.
Starting point is 04:03:31 So you're going to say it, aren't you? I double back to Keillith and start trying to administer some sort of a. I am dead. Medicine check, is that? You can make a medicine check to try and stabilize her, yeah. 18. 18, yeah. You stabilize the bleeding.
Starting point is 04:03:50 She's normally making that saving throws. She's still unconscious. But you all kind of reconvene. Take a breath. Is Keelith alive? Nope. Oh, Jesus. Keelith, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 04:04:01 I'm stabilized, but still unconscious. She needs help. She needs to help. Let's pull ourselves together. I will sing a song of rest, which will just give us all 1D8 for everybody. For hit I spent or just for the rest? I don't know. It just says 1D8.
Starting point is 04:04:18 It's my song of rest. Yeah, song of rest and make sure that we all have a lot of health potions. Yeah. That's good. I've got three. Do you like one? Probably. I mean, but if we take a short rest.
Starting point is 04:04:33 At the end of your short rest, everyone gains an additional. 1D8. It's nice. It doesn't hurt. So I come to consciousness by Scanlan singing. You're down with more HP. Yeah, you know me. You're down with more HP. Yeah, you know me. That's nice.
Starting point is 04:04:48 What? Yeah, we can roll some hit dice. You guys take a short rest here to roll some hit dice. Oh, man. So wait, how much did you heal his Scanlon? Just one extra D8. Do I roll that or do they? Everyone rolls it on their own. It's fine.
Starting point is 04:05:05 Holy but Jesus, guys. That was insane. Can we never do that again? Well, we're about to, I think. Feels like making camp. Making camp? Yes. We're in tune.
Starting point is 04:05:28 With ghosts. We have to continue on. I'm exhausted. We'll heal, but I think we need to kinting you down. We need to keep going. Yes. She's still kind of seeing a group of her self and her brothers. She takes her head for a second.
Starting point is 04:05:49 We can rest a moment, but I don't think we can stay here much longer. The more time we spend here, the more chance they have returning. And if they get the jump on us, we're done. Let's go. We need to press on. Yeah, aye. Yeah. Let's continue.
Starting point is 04:06:08 Yeah. Into the tunnel. Into the dark. Sheets or sword and a dagger. As you all climb into the beginning of the excavation tunnel leading to the south, Slowly making your way towards the tunnel sequence. Percival, any point in looting? Don't loot my family's crypt.
