So, to get you guys up to speed,
the party Voxmachina, after having a relatively violent encounter with a couple known as the Briarwoods,
Lady Delilah Briarwood and Lord Silas Briarwood. Two individuals that are responsible for
essentially torturing and murdering Percy's family, taking over his town of Whitestone,
and for the past five years have ruled it guiding it into some dark direction. They've begun to recently unravel.
The party traveled to Whitestone to clear their name as they were essentially put
in a bad political position with their hometown of Yman,
and to possibly bring vengeance for what Percy's family had
undergone five years before.
Upon arriving, they found the town in a very dark,
emotional place, zombie giants roving the streets
as these controlled centurions,
a number of the individuals in the town,
feeling the general unrest, and they decided
to build a revolt.
And so Percy,
Helming the Dorolo crest, Voxmachian went around inciting the thoughts of rebellion within the city.
Not the first, but apparently the one with the most chance of succeeding they've had to this date.
After some infiltrations and sizable victories cutting down some of the underlings of the Briarwoods within the city,
the people began to arm themselves rise up and fire, blade, and screaming took the city as the denizen
began to fight back. In this chaos, Voxymocene made their way underneath the castle
White Stone, where the Lord and Lady Breyer would currently reside, seeking some sort of
a project called the Ziggurak they've been working on for a while. While they were down
there, they found a woman apparently imprisoned under an illusion that they revealed to be Anna Ripley,
Dr. Anna Ripley, one of the torturers of Percy five years before and currently seemingly
interested in the black powder-based gun tech he had been developing. However, they
It took her captive, went upstairs, and discovered that Percy's sister, Cassandra, is indeed
still alive and being held captive within the castle. In the process of trying to save her,
Anna Ripley got away. Cassandra got her throat cut, but thankfully was saved by the quick actions of
Oxmachina and the near-death-store stepping of Vax once again. But nevertheless,
saved her, prevented her of a disastrous fate.
Before anyone entered the room.
It's true.
So having Cassandra saved some intense conversations began,
some discussions of some elements of the Briarwood's real intentions.
They found notes within Anders, Professor Andrews' room,
one of the other individuals responsible for rising up against Percy's family back in the day,
found materials that could clear their name back in Iman, and Cassandra armed up.
They made their way down to the basement of the city into the Undercroft
and through the mausoleon that contained the descendants of the Dorolo family,
after which a series of ghosts seemingly haunting that vicinity since the darkness that took this kingdom
took hold, began to possess the party into a rough battle in which they were forced to fight themselves.
The ghosts were ousted, destroyed, and the party regathering what powers they still have at their disposal
to begin to delve into the seemingly recently dug tunnel beneath the city of Whitestone towards whatever this Ziggurat project is.
And that is where we left off last time.
So as you guys have taken a moment to gather your breath after the Undercroft infiltrated,
of these spirits, one of the last of which Scanlan shamed into a re-death.
You've all gathered yourself, taking the short rest to heal up, whatever else you want
to do to prepare at this time, discussions, items, preparation, trading, anything you want to do
before you delve any further into this tunnel underneath the city of Whitestone now is the time to do so.
We're in the crypt, the cryptosarcopagasy sort of thing.
That's the actual official name, yeah.
And first of all, do you know anything?
Do you know what's just ahead of us?
Do you know?
I don't think so.
No, the back wall of this mausoleum was originally just a wall.
There was a large, like, 20-foot-wide cavern that is chiseled through the stonework
and it appears to just delve deeper into the ground behind them.
behind them.
Whoa.
Whoa.
Whoa.
We got Allura Bailey.
Woo.
What's that, buddies?
What?
What?
Orch show variant costume.
The Comic-Con night in the town.
Vex paint job.
Hey, Ashley!
Congratulations, by the way.
Oh, thank you.
Did you?
We didn't know.
I didn't win.
They were unveiling my character in Uncharted tonight.
Did you go on stage?
I didn't, no, I just kind of sat there,
and then I went, okay, well, I gotta go.
And I got it from Rian, and I feel like an idiot.
We got Briarwoods to kill it.
No, we got Priory Woods.
Priorities.
I'm glad you could join us.
Thank you for that.
We're glad you.
You're saying priorities?
Priorities.
Priorities.
So we don't know if we have any further to go from the script.
I have, this is.
Uncharted.
That's my thing.
Are we?
Oh, bring it around.
Bring it around.
Go quick. Go quick.
Do it, it's fine. We're just starting.
I didn't want to touch it today.
Do it. Do it.
We've literally not had a conversation.
We haven't done anything.
Okay, okay, I'm going.
All right, I'm gonna charge in.
I would like to take a vial of holy oil
that I have out of the bag of holding
and just keep it in my hand.
Just out, so I don't have to get it out.
Okay.
Grog, speaking of, how many health potions do you have?
I feel like we might need to redistribute.
I have a shitload.
I never really use them.
You should do that.
I have two level of awesome, what are the biggest ones?
Greater?
Is greater or superior?
I have two superior, one, the top one, and five of the low ones.
Can I take two of the low ones, possibly?
Superior would be the highest that you've received so far.
Okay, that I have one of them.
I am all average, just about, so may I please have two?
May I please have a superior girl?
Oh boy, does everybody want a piece of this pie?
Well, what are you offering?
I'm offering safety for your facial hair.
Not important.
Purtuity.
No?
Give me some else.
I like those totally daggers you have.
How about safety for your life?
Because we'll be having your back and whatnot.
You have? I have.
How could you have?
you have my back if it's on me.
I'm gonna let that one go.
I will, I will let you flick me hard,
hard in the nads.
Should we survive?
How about you let me flick you hard on the nads now
and I'll give you a helic potion?
Can we take a short rest after that?
What is happening?
Just a little one. I won't even rage or nothing.
It would just be a quick little tap on your wander.
I will do this.
this trade.
I kneel down and I get right up to his side bitch.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
I pull a stick out of my bag and I put it in my mouth
and I bite down very hard on it.
I'm gonna use minor illusion to create
sort of a bull's eye right around his crotch,
concentric circles glowing.
And like the second grader I am trying to write in cursive,
I have my tongue kind of sticking out like,
I'll see my eyes.
And I shift from, you know,
Using the middle finger flowing down to the ring finger
because we're being nice.
And I go for you, are you right-handed?
Yeah.
I go for the left nut.
Whack!
Does he throw up?
No, but you do take one point of damage.
Yes!
Just one?
Just one.
It's just a ring finger, but it's still a Goliath.
Is there a little cut, like a little like,
oh yeah, no, there's definitely enough of a reaction
to be worth your...
There's no sound at all.
I will give you one of the...
There's like three different levels of it?
The superior, please.
We have common, or sorry, the healing potion, the greater healing, and the superior.
Okay, I'll give you...
The good one, fucker.
I'll give you the...
The greater.
I'll give them a greater.
Okay.
And Percy, I like it when you turn into the giant cloud thing, so you don't have to take a nutshot.
Is to like a common or a greater?
Actually, if I could steal two commons just to be on the safe side.
Yeah? Okay.
I give him two common.
And I offer the satisfaction of Vax knowing that I got them for friends.
It's important.
Cassandra also is Ford and says,
I, myself, do not have any sort of potion of protection.
Does anyone have anything in which they could offer?
Oh.
Yes. Hello.
Hello. Hi, I look like your brother, but I'm shorter.
Yes, that's right. By the way, everyone is currently,
apparently everybody looks. Like either Percy or Cassandra, thanks to Scanlon's seeming, which is really awkward.
Good job, Scanlan.
Are we going to hold this up for when we go against the plows?
It's confusing, yes.
Yeah, for them, yes.
You can have one of my greater healing potions.
Will that surprise?
Certainly, thank you.
She comes forward and she comes forward and, uh,
reaches out towards you and you have to kind of reach up and put in her hand because she's reaching out towards a much taller figure.
Oh, I look like a full-size, Percy?
A little larger than, like kind of in between.
Oh, cool.
I throw her one of my comments as well.
All right, so I have three comments, two graders and one superior.
So I'm a walking medicine cabinet.
You are.
Speaking of looking like Percy and Cassandra, Vex.
Huh?
That is you, right?
That is you, right?
It's me.
Yes, what?
Betts.
If you look like Cassandra,
you could conceivably
get in front of the Briar Woods
without them knowing that it's an enemy
for a moment.
Maybe long enough to fire off one of your...
Don't you have some sort of sunbeam arrow or something?
I have no sunbeam arrow, but...
You have something, but... I would like to dip
some arrows in some holy oil at this moment in time.
All right.
I do have potentially
an exploding holy arrow.
That would be pretty baller.
Is this the one with a question mark?
No, no, no. This isn't a normal one, and then I have a question mark as well.
Do you want to dip them both?
Yes, I do.
Okay. You have two more uses of your holy oil, I believe, right?
Yes, I will know. My holy oil takes care.
Each thing takes three arrows.
Right. So I can do six arrows altogether.
Okay.
You're using it all right now?
Will it wear off?
It lasts for an hour.
I mean, are we gonna get there?
I don't know.
We can fight them in five minutes.
I mean, I wanna do it right before we walk in the room, Matt.
Then, it's up to you.
You can hold it off or you can-
Let's see a ziggurat.
Let's start making our way down there and we'll,
I can't believe I'm gonna say this,
but we'll have Vax scout ahead.
Don't do anything.
Don't do anything.
I love the laughter.
Look, don't touch.
Max, we've discussed our new password.
Do you remember the new password?
Which is?
Is there something different?
Is it Candyland?
No, I don't remember.
It's now Jenga 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4, 1,000, 5,000, 1,000,
6, 1,000, 7, 1,000, 8,000, 9,000,000, and.
I just got flicked in the nuts, I'm not doing that.
I'll say, Jenga.
And then wait.
Yeah, I'll wait.
Wait a good amount of time.
So long as no more of your siblings are in danger.
I mean, I did do it for reason.
We know. We know.
You know because I told you.
Yes. Yes? No, I consider the matter settled.
I don't know exactly what was going to happen, but I saw a blade against your sister's throat.
I would hope you would do the same for my sister if you were to see the same thing.
Yes.
You would, of course he would.
And just hypothetically speaking.
But mostly because I fear.
And back me up. If you were to turn into some sort of, I don't know, you are a three-horned beast and go,
running into a, like a house full of enemies.
We would give him a similar talking to, correct?
That would never happen.
He would never do that.
We don't actually believe that he will listen to sets.
I'm Percy.
Honestly, we just can't waste our breath.
Scammon, shut up.
The tune, how long is that?
A short rest.
This is going to be a very complicated evening.
Should we take a short rest?
You just finished it.
We just did.
We did?
Oh, we did.
If you wanted to attune to something during that short rest, you can't.
What is that?
Can I tune the boots of levitation?
If you'd like to, yeah.
I'd like to.
Okay.
Yeah.
We took just rested for 30 minutes?
How would everyone feel about another seven and a half hours?
We can't.
We can't.
Our meal is still active as well.
We need the benefits of that.
Yeah, we need to go before the feast wears off.
Plus, there is a rebellion going on.
It's been like, what, an hour, two hours?
They're probably mostly dead by now.
That's mostly dead.
Possibly very true, actually.
Cassandra.
Yes?
In your opinion, who's the more dangerous target?
She gets kind of distant for a second thinking,
and she kind of haphazardly, kind of pulls the hair over her ear,
and kind of rubs her armor in a nervous way,
and looks over at the side of her eyes to you, and says,
they're both dangerous for different reasons.
I mean, separately, Silas is dangerous because of his unnatural nature. I've seen him turn
arguments and opposing signs into friendships in but an instant he has some sort of power
over the mind of those he looks to. That in himself is a danger, not to mention his other capabilities.
I've only seen him use it twice, but that blade he carries is as dark as he is.
That being said, Lady Briwa, and Delilah, she carries magic far more powerful than I've seen.
I mean, she on her own was able to create, run and rule each of these centuries that ran about the entire city.
She had half of the entire castle staffed with long dead individuals.
None questioned her. I've never seen her in battle, but I sense that there's far more to her abilities than I've seen.
And the two of them together are driven more so than the affiliation to this whispered one they talk of.
They're driven by one thing.
And that's the affection for each other.
As long as they are together.
So we split them up?
Yeah, we've got to divide and conquer this shit.
If we can.
Yes.
Has there been any instance where the two have separated in the recent months, which you can imagine, or remember?
I remember?
I mean, most of the ziggurat construction happens during the evening when Silas is not resting.
And to the most part, a journey together for the past month at least.
No, I haven't seen them apart, really.
Can you think of any reason why they would separate?
Not something in the sun required their attention.
Nothing southern that required their attention.
In the sun.
In the sun?
Silas does not appear to like being outside.
Yeah, one thing. Do we want to take the battle to them down here?
Or do we want to try and lure them outside?
I think we would definitely prefer them outside, but what would draw them out, I do not know.
What if we used seeming and made one of us seem like Lady Briarwood?
I think they would see through that.
Yes?
I saw through the disguise and the tape.
Just to point this out, before we go in and kill ourselves,
but we have evidence now.
We could abandon this whole thing,
go back and fight our day in court.
I want to see what they're building down there,
and I worry that it would be dangerous.
Unless you just abandon this entire town,
this entire revolution that we caused.
People are putting their lives on the line,
Plus, Uriel is suspect now, he's been corrupted,
he is not trustworthy.
There's no point going back to him.
And this, I can't leave again until this is taken care of.
Right, that was a stupid, stupid suggestion to be with.
Keith, are you saying you're gonna stay?
I, damn it seemed differently, it's very strange.
I'm really disappointed, Keith.
Cassandra, I want to say something a little
Frank, I'm very happy that we've found you.
I'm very happy that Percival and you have been reunited.
We have been burned very badly in the past
by seeming allies, and I am sure you are in your right mind.
But just past experience has taught us to be very careful.
And we are all watching you for signs of corruption or control.
I want to believe you are in control of your faculties.
I do not fully trust you are,
and I think just letting you know
that a knife could hit your back
as soon as the slightest misstep happened
is maybe enough to ensure some safety for this group.
It is true. I've been living here for,
at least this castle with them for the past three years.
Not out of choice, of course,
and I, where I in your position would be,
think the same.
May I ask, according to Percival, they filled you with arrows.
What happened?
Well, I was near death.
I was recovered by the father that runs the Temple of Pelor, and a few of the individuals
who had fled this city at the time.
I was, as far as I was concerned, I was gone.
But they nursed me back to health slowly over time.
I was for the better part, useless as an individual for about six months.
And even to this day I have a bit of a wheeze and I expend myself.
But Father Reinal made sure that I was in good health.
And that was when I had learned truly what had become of the city in my restoration.
And it was there that we began to speak of the early talks of rebellion here in Whitestone.
Me being still alive was enough of a beacon for those who knew for us to put together our first attempt to fight out from under the rule, and they were smart.
They knew every step we took. Many lives were lost, but in that fray, they recognized me.
They didn't know I was alive either. I guess they saw the importance of keeping me.
under their lock and key as a way of crushing whatever hope those who still lived here had.
And we're not fully...
I'm not hang you from that tree in the center of town like they did so many others.
Oh.
That would have certainly made a statement.
And there many days when they first took me captive, I would have welcomed that.
But in that time that we planned that first rebellion,
I saw fire in the eyes of my people,
brighter than witness in my youth.
I saw the love for my family.
And I saw the intent of my people.
And I saw the intent.
of these people to take back what was theirs from this corrupt force, and I knew that I had a
part to play. If they choose to leave me alive, as much as they try and sway my interests,
they'd also brought me close to them. I could watch them. I could see what they were planning,
try and gather details of this construct they're working on, Brother City, and feed this information
to those who I knew were still true and behind the Dorota.
family name. I don't know what I can say to offer you more than that.
I don't think there's anything you can say.
Can I insight, Jacker?
I want you back in my friend's life, but I'm sorry I do not trust you.
And I and the others will be watching it.
21?
21? Okay.
Looking, everywhere that comes out of her mouth comes with conviction
comes from a look of a person who's recalling a painful memory.
There's nothing that belies any deceit.
Yeah.
And upward. Are we gonna try and separate these two?
Is that the plan?
I think we're going to take a lay of the land first.
See what we're up against.
It's not a bad idea if we can.
Thanks.
All right, so I'm gonna go ahead through the hole.
Should I stealth with you?
Sure, you're very good at that.
Now because of my gift to you.
Hey!
There you go.
You guys are both going to stealth ahead?
Yes.
To win side by side.
All right, go ahead and roll stealth checks.
You with advantage, Lur?
I get advantage because of the gold.
Dress.
The sparkles are magical.
Magic sparkles.
32.
Does look like myth roll, doesn't it?
23.
All right.
So the two of you have ahead.
Can have a marching order here?
Me first.
Yeah.
All right.
Trisksks.
Stank.
Strington back to the rest of the party, I assume.
Yes.
Strington stays.
front of this traveling path.
But we're going, I'll go.
Right, but I mean, but everyone else is falling behind, though.
What order would?
Mead Shield.
All right.
I will be right behind the Meetshield.
I'll be right behind the Meetshield.
Percy number four.
Trinket follows Percy.
Is that?
She's following Percy.
Okay, Tricket's following Percy.
Following up the ranks with Trinkin, I guess.
All right.
And as soon as you enter the cavern, I'm again stepping forward,
under the tunnel. There's a flash of light right before you were
for a second blind second here. You can just simply step back and pull your
daggers out. Before you realize the flash is now a glowing symbol on your hand.
The crest of Serenray that's been stitched into your glove is now pulsing with an energy.
You hear for a second, all out. Pike's voice ring through the darkness. And you see before
you like, out of the shadow, out of the blackness that was before you in the cavern, a small
gnomish hand reach out for you.
Are you all still there?
Pike.
I take her hand.
I take your hand, Pike, and I kneel down and I press the back of her hand to my forehead
and hold it there for a moment.
As you do, the glow from the glove begins to spread from your hand across their hand,
and all of you guys see materializing out of the darkness, Pike's form just slowly unravel
into this shadowed area, to this glowing beacon of her holy form that you've previously
traveled with, as Pike is now once again brought to this point of clarity here beneath the castle.
I run over and I knock back out of the way and pick up Pike and give him.
I'm not.
Oh, my God, my knife.
Oh, boy, I'm so glad to see you.
Grog, but you don't look like, Grog.
What, he?
No, it's me.
Are you, is everybody Percy and Cassandra?
Yes.
Except for you, darling.
It's very weird.
You're a tiny gnome in armor, and everyone else looks like Percy and the woman you've never seen before in your life.
before your life.
Bear Percy is especially disturbing.
Fair Percy.
Yeah.
This giant rotund Percy on his hands and legs.
Don't.
Don't.
Don't.
Give the internet ideas.
Please, don't.
It's hard to look at it.
It's a very strange visual and you're very confused momentarily.
I give Percy drinks and ear scratches.
Oh.
He liked it.
He liked it.
I run over and I say, Pike, Pike, what happened?
You disappeared before, but now you're back.
Are you here to stay?
What's going on?
I'm here to stay for as long as I can.
It's very hard to stay in this form, especially when this place is very, very dark.
And sometimes I just get pulled away.
so I'm gonna stay as long as I can.
We're so happy to have you here.
So happy to have you.
I'm so happy to be here.
How are you, how are you guys, are you okay?
Where are you at in terms of?
We're all healthy.
We're all healthy.
Okay?
We're tired.
Back's is mine as a hit point because I ate him in the nuts.
Oh, brogue.
And we have a new member, well, a new traveling
companion, this is Cassandra.
Sandra D'Rova.
The actual Cassandra.
The real Cassandra.
I go over and put my hand out and hold her hand
and say it's so very nice to finally meet you.
She takes your hand and kind of looks down curiously
at this tiny gnome that it seems to have
apparated out of the shadows and gives you a curious look
and a big smile creeps across her face.
It is my pleasure to have good people
around me for once. Pleasure to meet you, young Gnome. Which is funny coming from her,
because she's technically younger than you. She looks hardened, but she's younger than you.
She probably could be together.
Yeah.
All right. Now we're definitely going to kick smash. With Pike with us, we can do anything.
Is she kind of glowing? She like...
Pike is giving a low candle light around her, so she's going to want to keep her towards
the back probably.
Pike always ruins stealth even when she's a ghostly form.
Can you hang a sheet over her or something?
You can, it'll be like throwing a t-shirt over your bedroom light.
It'll just be like a nice,
nice atmospheric kind of Chinese lantern.
Ooh, mood lighting.
There you go.
I place my Sarah and Rayhan on her shoulder
and say, you're here because she will do to be here.
knows that we need you. Now please hide behind obese, Percival. And then I pat my sister on
the shoulder and back.
You both got forward. Okay. So this pike comes to the back, kind of smiling everybody. She
joins the back ranks of Keeleth and Trinket. Actually, behind Percy, because I'm just going
to be right there. Flying V formation. And you guys continue down this tunnel. So.
So.
Reception, all that shit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Reception.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I should do it too.
It's up to you.
20 for me.
Yeah, I know, right?
18 for me.
All right.
All right.
You guys continue on this slowly descending tunnel for about 10 minutes or so
before you see it divide to the left.
very heavily and then continue forward.
There's still no light source here, and so you're relying on your dark vision to continue.
But there's the path that kind of switch back to the left and then the one that continues forward.
I lean over to my sister and see.
Wait a fucking second and let me look for footprints.
Can I look at footprints?
Can I make a survival check.
Okay.
No, we just want to use. I'm so nervous.
Okay. Let's do this one.
That was a bad one.
And perceptioning?
This is survival, wisdom.
Oh, that's the same.
That is 16.
16, okay.
You get down and kind of inspect the area,
you actually pull out a small bit of
of torch myth and kind of lighted a little bit,
just to give you a little more light.
Looking across this one intersection briefly.
There are footprints back and forth in all ways,
so many of them have been, at least the footprints coming from,
coming from, and the last footprints were coming from this tunnel to your immediate left,
were from a while back. The fresher footprints, which have been, I mean, as fresh as of
four hours, continue on down that way. You do notice that the smell of the air itself is,
you notice as well as kind of as you're inspecting. The air down here has a very kind of
acrid, sharp scent anyway, like a hint of chemical. It seems to be getting stronger to the
left.
That's where the acid pits are.
Acid Briarwoods.
Just do it?
Briarwoods?
Yeah.
Skip it.
Let's go.
All right.
Continuing to push forward about another five minutes or so.
In keeping track of your distance to the castle, you're starting to get towards the outside perimeter of the actual city itself.
As you're kind of keeping tabs on distance travel to the area,
you catch, based on your last perception rule, there's a portion of the floor that seems
to have some placed crooked chunks of stone. You see pieces of broken stone here and there,
things that are fallen out from being hauled from the distant dig into wherever the
ziggurat is, but there's one section where it appears there's platforms.
Looks a little hinky. It looks like it's deliberately placed as opposed to dropped and left there.
I'd like to carefully approach and disarm anything I can detect or find.
Okay. Go ahead and check.
Is that Thieves Tools?
That's Thieves Tools.
Yeah.
That's 27.
Okay.
You find two of the large stone slabs that are part of this kind of discarded sequence here.
They have beneath them some small, magical burst that is waiting to do it.
detonate, you manage to mark it and take a couple of other stone pieces to wedge underneath
it, to prevent it from depressing onto whatever the sugar may be, and just note to the rest
of the party to avoid that section of the tunnel.
There's a couple of stones here that I've marked in the middle of the path. Don't step on
then, please. Somebody tell drinking.
I'm pipe.
He probably understand signs. Did you say, here is what? I'll go. No. I'll be in charge of
kind of guiding trinket.
Okay.
He listens to you.
Yeah, he's like, we're brilliant.
The awkward large bear percy.
They got the message.
You still my friend?
The awkward Cassandra.
At least the bear still loves me.
You continue forward for another, I'd say, 20 minutes.
Go ahead and make another perception check.
Oh, no.
21, again.
Okay.
Both of you guys.
walking forward, both step out, and look down just in time to stop your foot from pressing
onto what looks to be a mound of dirt that is, once again, deliberately placed and a little
more fresh than the rest of the dust-covered hallway. You can see there's an area that is
distinctly different shade of color based on the lack of dust on top of it. You both stop just in
time. Thank you very much. I got fries.
I give her the universal rogue movement for scoot back.
Yeah, just keep going, 10 feet are certain.
All right, I'm going to inspect.
I'm sure I'll do the same.
26.
You approach this mound and as soon as you get close to it,
you pull out your tools, you're not quite sure how this initially works.
As you begin to push slightly on the dirt on one side,
you can see the other side kind of shifts a little bit from the weight.
from the weight. It looks like there's something beneath the dirt that has some sort of
shifting property to it. And you gather, based on the weight it reacted, there is a gas. There is a gas contained beneath this.
To disarm it would be difficult, but you can ascertain the nature of its detonation, and once again, you can mark this to not be placed.
Does it take the whole passage of this box?
It's right in the center, so it can be bypassed if you stick directly to the right or left and kind of work along the side.
Trinket may be a little difficult to work on, but we'll make a roll for that.
Oh no!
What will the possibly go wrong?
All right, people, we have some gas trapped under a mound of shit up here.
Some gas?
Yeah, it smells like grog, so avoid it.
Something bad.
I'm going to stay here. I'd like you all to bring up the rear, and Kiki, bring the bear.
bring my nephew up and I'd like everyone to pass ahead and my sister and I will get Trinket up
behind you all. I have a question. How are we marking these traps? Chalk. The last
one was marked with chalk. This one I'm just standing in front out. So we're coming across
a lot of these. If we need to make a quick escape, it might be a problem. If we're going back
out the way we came in.
In a hurry.
We'll just have to remember.
Oh, yeah.
Hopefully we'll be in a hurry.
Yeah.
We'll just have Trinket run for it.
I'm sure you've got something in that bag of yours
that we can plop in front of this.
Yeah, if you.
Now let's just get past it.
All right, so you each make your way.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
You make your way around this when it comes to Trinket's side,
I'll say for you, because everyone will probably
be helping him get across.
Go ahead and just make a dexterity check for Trinket with advantage.
Okay.
With the aid from the party.
Eight?
Okay.
Plus anything?
Nope.
That's for Trinkett?
Yeah.
Okay.
So who's helping Trinket?
No way I can assist.
I am.
We are, I assume.
Actually, I'll help Trinket.
I got to let you.
I'll also say, if this was a gas trap, I'd probably throw my mask on before passing it as well.
Yeah, with another.
I'll help you.
Okay.
So just do you run?
Just me.
Okay.
Everyone continues pushing forward.
You reach out, helping Trinket get along.
Trinkets kind of pushing up to the side of the cavern, claws scraping on the side of the wall,
foot slips, slams into the mound of dirt, at which point the mound kind of depresses, and
then bursts open into a 20 by 20 foot gas cloud.
Can I cast gust of wind real quick?
My gist, yeah, my cantrip gust and push it back down the hallway.
You can start doing that, yeah, because it is lingering cloud effect.
Regardless, I need you and Trinket to both make a Constitution save.
Okay.
21.
All right.
No, 20.
Laura, could you roll a Constitution save for Trinket?
20.
Yeah.
That's good.
Yeah.
Just regular?
Just regular Constitution save.
Seven.
Seven?
Okay.
We know it's down tonight.
We know it's down the night.
You suffer six points of poison damage.
Trinquet suffers 12 points of poison damage.
Grog, you suffer no poison damage.
We are, we have a meal.
Heroes Feast!
And Trinkeet ate it too!
That's true.
We're immune to poison?
We're immune to poison.
We're immune to fear and poison.
Then...
That's amazing!
As the cloud begins to fill the area,
all this trouble for nothing.
You breathe it in and like, there's that reactionary point of like,
shit-trink it out of there, and then you realize the harshness of the toxin doesn't seem
to be affecting your system. There's some element of the holy shit, it's delicious feast you
guys had that is keeping the toxins at bay from entering your system.
I spent the last few years living up an immunity to I-O-Praim.
Also, doesn't your belt-dwar kind of something like that?
No, for put, no. No? No. Okay. It just grows a beer.
You have advantage on charisma?
I have resistance against poison damage.
You have advantage on persuasion effects.
I know.
That's awesome.
So you take half poison damage whenever you do take poison damage.
Pike is kind of flickering.
Oh, no, where did Pike go?
The evil of this place is making it hard to maintain her connection.
No, it's hard.
It's deep underground.
God.
Oh, oh, oh, oh.
Ah, oh.
Oh.
This disaster projection is very hard to hold.
That's all right.
We live in an age of miracles and wonders.
So as you guys pass out of this cloud,
the connection is just not very strong.
That's all right.
Much better now.
Keelith, you push the toxin cloud backwards
and get it off to the side,
kind of pushing it down the same tunnel that the acid destruction was.
It'll take you a while to get back there,
or you can just leave it in the tunnel if you like.
No, it's fine.
I'll just leave it.
It's fine.
So it seems to be
pervasive for now. It may eventually fade or sink into the earth, but it'll take a while
for that to happen. Whatever. But you move past this trap. You continue forward and the
descent grows steadily more and more steep at this point. What was, like a relative decline has
now gotten to the point where some of you're having to kind of get up against the wall as you step
down, not to the point where it's slide-worthy or anything, but enough where it gets a little precarious,
for those who don't have quite as much a grand hold on loose earth. About five minutes
of this, it evens out, though. And as it does, you come to a metallic doorway.
Of course.
Oh, too, over.
I've got this.
Please. Just you.
I step forward.
Inspector for traps. Inpect it for traps.
No, no, no, let it make it.
Why don't I look and then Scanlon can handle it?
All right. I'm just going to look.
going to look.
Yeah, 23.
Okay.
The door is not appear to be trapped, but it is locked.
Well.
Can you pick it?
Probably.
Metal door, right?
Yeah.
Natural 20.
Natural 20?
What?
So, looking at the door, and the closer you get, if you bring some light source to it, you can see the door itself is, it's not an iron or a slate metal.
metal, it's like bronze, like hammered bronze. You can see the surface is semi-smooth,
but it does have a bit of a warp to it from when the middle was originally plied and used
to create this doorway. So it has this kind of hammered look across this entire surface,
of some small rivets inside. You do notice that there is no handle for it, but on the
other side of the door, there is something that is latched over. And so using your dagger,
You manage to lift it slightly and then shove forward through the slight edge of the door frame
to the door itself, or it needs to force this off of its latch, and you hear the metallic arm
bang against the other side of the door as it falls down, and the door pushes open slightly.
I look back to the group and go, it won't open. It won't ever.
And here, I don't push it that far. We're only like four or five inches to peer through.
Okay.
That same kind of accurate smell that's permeated the hallway continues into this room.
It's a little colder. The temperature in this room is because, as you notice, looking
in from a little bit of distance you can see in this pitch black vicinity, the entire room
is made of this type of hammered bronze.
Oh, boy.
What's that mean?
Not good.
Before we go in, are there any bits of a white stone on the ground like here are there
pieces or is it pretty clean-ish? As you've traveled through here, you see chunks here and there.
Some of them appear to be... Yeah, nothing bigger than what you find at your palm.
Most, most... any of the larger pieces seem to have made their way all the way back to the
Undercroft where you guys had the ghost battle. At this point, you've just seen bits and
pieces that may have fallen out of whatever carts were brought through. And you do see grooves
in the ground where, like, large-wheeled carts were pushed back and forth up and down this
tunnel to carry materials to and from.
I pull the door a little bit shut behind me and turn to the group and say, this is a room
made entirely of metal that presumably did not exist five years ago. I think this is probably
bad. Sister dear, would you help me look just from the door, please?
Uh-huh. Just look.
Just shoot a lightning bomb there. No, in a moment, please. And perception check the room
from here.
Is you all good?
Yes, 29.
Oh, that's good.
That's better than mine, but not much.
20, 23?
Question mark?
Okay.
Both glancing in a little bit of space you have to pull through.
You can see the room itself.
It's about 80 feet across and about 50 feet wide.
From the doorway, it's a slight ramp that leads down into an open floor area, also of the
bronze metal, and then across the way, another ramp that rises up to meet a small
kind of upper platform area, and there appears to be a door on the opposite side.
Can we do any kind of Arcona Check or anything?
I know this room is full of shit, yeah.
Arcona Check or something, to see if it's like magic or something?
Pike.
If you'd like to be, you'd probably have to get a little closer into the room to check it out.
Because you guys are just at the outskirts of it. You're just able to see a little bit of the edge of your visual distance.
How thick is the door? Looking at the door, if you open it up, it's about two inches thick.
Pike Keeleth, will you come up here?
I'm going to go ahead and take that holy oil and pull oil.
We're a little on about our depths here.
This seems suspect to me. I'd like you both have a look.
Yeah, something's going on here. Yeah.
Um.
So Pike and I are going up?
Okay. Yep.
Okay.
Go, go.
Go, go, tell us what's up.
All right.
Are you guys all moved up to the door at least,
or are you all still back in the tunnel?
I'm moving up to the door.
I'm stepping a little back.
Okay. Cassandra does say, she was,
this is as far as I've gone down here.
Do you know what's on the other side?
I assume the project.
Last time I came here, I was following the Briwoods at a distance.
They went in there with a handful of guards,
and then I made it to this door,
to this door, it was empty on the inside.
I assume they traveled for that far door,
but I had not actually been here myself.
It was at that point that I was discovered
and dragged back to the castle, so.
Did you make it to the acid pits?
Back that way.
I saw them from a distance.
Didn't want to get too close.
They're just larger stone troughs
that these chemicals have been refined in,
and for whatever purpose they've
required them, have been kept there. Dr. Ripley actually was in charge of a lot of that
development and creation. Percy and Cassandra, what does, does this material mean anything to you?
The bronze? Does it keep any type of energy out or something? Why build a room out of bronze?
It's a question for you as well, Percival. I don't know. I would like to get a better look. Are there markings on the walls? Is there any sort of scripting?
Make a perception chart.
Yeah.
Get that out of the way.
It's nine.
Okay.
As you step into the room and kind of look along the walls at the top of the ramp that leads downward,
there's really no discerning features that you can initially glance off visually across the walls,
other than the fact that it's just hammered bronze with, it looks like bronze bars across
to keep all the various plates that were put up together. It's not like one solid piece.
It's multiple sheets that were all kind of bolted and put together to create solid walls.
And the floor is bronze?
Floor is bronze as well. The roof? The roof is not bronze. The roof is, looks like, solid white stone.
That don't look good.
Mm-mm.
Pike, Keelot? Do you make anything of this?
Is it, is it?
Can I...
Can I...
God, I don't even know.
You've no knowledge of...
Can I do some sort of...
I'm not great with magic, I'm great with nature, and I'm not great with dungineering or anything
like that either.
Can I do some sort of nature check to see if this is like a quarry that we just walked
into or like if it's some sort of conductor?
Conductor.
Yeah.
It's not really a nature thing, oh.
That would be more of an...
Go make an intelligence check.
Oh, great.
I can have a forte.
Oh, natural 20!
Oh, that's a beautiful wing.
Okay.
This bronze-colored material,
you're not too familiar with a lot of metals,
but it appears to be an alloy of some kind.
It would probably be a good conductor of electricity
if utilized in a way,
for whatever purpose you're unable to really ascertain.
But this metal is not indigenous to this region,
meaning the whole area of Taldorei, this metal is usually
imported from distant lands. It is not found or created naturally in this area, to your knowledge.
And do I have any, would I gather any information on the purpose of this room, what it's used for?
Not with your experience, no. Gathering about, though.
As you all kind of gather in this area looking around, you notice that the stonework on the ceiling has two discolourations.
Across the top of the ramp above you, there is a one-inch discoloration, almost like there's a drawn line across the stone.
At that height and this lack of light, it's can't tell if it's just a marking or if it is an actual change in material.
And there's one on the other side of the room across the way at the top of the other ramp.
It's the conductor room.
Can I, can I, oh, we're too far away to see what it's made out of?
At this distance in this low light, it's hard to tell. You can see that there's a discoloration or a change, but it is a consistent band across the top.
Should you send some light up there?
How high are the ceilings?
I have dark vision at a range of 60 feet. Can I see it?
You can see, but in dark vision is, it's very black and white. You don't see a lot of color.
And it's hard at the distance to make anything, you know, without feeling it or seeing it, it's hard to get details.
I check the door, but I didn't check anything else. Can I check the room for traps?
Yeah, if you like to.
I would like to roll a 23.
Three.
Okay.
As you descend the ramp, keeping a very close eye on the ground around you, or are you just
doing a visual scan?
I'll walk up within a foot of that first line you referenced on the ceiling.
Okay.
I'm glancing about, you don't notice any traps.
You do notice in the center of the room, the very, very center of the room on the floor,
there is a small variation in the color.
you see what looks like a small, almost oval-type smooth button or some sort of a strange object
that is embedded in the floor.
Should I try to shoot it when none of us are in the room?
I just try to...
Oh yeah, that's interesting.
That will probably tell us what this room is about.
I worry a little about alerting people on the other side of the room, but...
Not much we can do about that.
It feels dangerous to go to the room.
They know we're coming.
Right.
Oh, man.
Do we...
It's true.
There's no vents, there's no ventilation shaft, there's nothing.
I bet it's electrocution.
The roof is flat or is it calm or is it?
The roof is flat from what you can tell.
It's a giant box.
It's just the walls and the floor.
White stone ceiling and the rest of it is all this kind of bronze material
with the ramp that goes down towards the bottom and the ramp that goes on the other end
with the two platforms where you enter and with the other door across the way is.
So can we clear out and I'll try to shoot it?
Sure.
See what happened.
Okay.
So I'll do that.
Do that.
So all of you step back out into the hallway, your cluster of Persis and Cassandra's.
I step one foot behind Cassandra number two.
All right.
Go ahead and pull your arrow.
You aim carefully from just outside of the doorway.
Do I add my attack to it?
Yes, you add your attack points.
27.
27.
So you released the arrow.
Perfect hit. On point. It strikes whatever this strange object is embedded in the floor.
It hits and slightly ricochets and splinters as an arrow wood when it hits a hard surface.
No seeming reaction.
I'm going to try something.
Oh, boy. First of all, does the construct of this at all remind me of anything?
Do I have...
No, actually. To your knowledge, most of this entire tunnel structure did not exist when you lived here.
all been either rediscovered or created since you left Whitestone.
I'm going to take my sword and I'm going to put it, I'm going to go into the room and
I'm going to lay my sword on the ground and I'm going to cover as a conductor. I'm having
that thought. I'm going to try and slide my sword towards the center of the room and see if I can
cause a short with the piece of metal and get a positive and negative charge to hit and see if I can
get a reaction. All righty. So as Percy, as you step down to the bottom of the...
Science! Science, bitches! The slope as it kind of meets the bottom, and there is an open area in the center of the floor now.
About a 15, 20-foot area width between the two ramps. Yes. So you're down at the bottom ramp.
Take the sword, let it scatter across. And there are imperfections on the floor, so it kind of skips as it moves and such. It eventually slides to a stop. No effect. But you do get a better look at what this thing is embedded in the floor.
You not having dark vision, though, you would have to have a light source for this.
So do you have a torch?
Yeah, so you're bringing a torch for and you look over.
It looks like a smooth gem, like an opal or some sort of, like white-ish, opaque gem that is embedded in the ground in the center.
The Arkinstone.
Definitely.
And it's not translucent.
It's like a stone, it's an opal-like stone.
It's an opal-like stone about that big that is just embedded in the broad-and-and-like stone.
embedded in the bronze. Greetings adventurers. Spring has sprung here in Los Angeles and that means
it's a brief period where it's only 75 degrees instead of 95 degrees. I'll take it. And that means
I've been outside a lot more. Walking around, occasionally galloping after a toddler hopped up on
juice boxes, traveling a bit. You know the vibe. And after doing some spring cleaning, my wardrobe,
I got to say, looking a little bit sad. I want clothes that can keep up with me and my son,
but updating my wardrobe every spring sounds pretty expensive.
So that's why I wound up signing up for Fabletics as a VIP.
It let me overhaul my springtime outfits without obliterating my bank account.
New VIPs unlock major savings on that first purchase,
so trying new fits feels way more doable.
When I signed up as a new VIP with Fabletics, I got 70 to 80% off everything.
It made it easy to grab a few new pieces without overthinking it.
And the quality really surprised me.
Everything feels premium and soft and breathable, but you're not paying those premium prices.
What I like most, though, is how versatile everything is.
You've got stuff you can work out in, but also wear out.
There's matching sets, lightweight hoodies, joggers, teas, you name it.
The kind of stuff you can throw on in the morning and not worry about later.
When I'm at home, my favorite thing to pull on is the oversized hoodie.
It's so comfy I could just live in it 24-7.
It's perfect for walking my dog on like a chilly night.
But what I'm out and about, I've really been loving the ribbed Johnny Collar
polo. It makes me look like I should be taking a high-powered meeting by the pool at the
White Lotus, but hopefully with less murder involved. I don't know. It's insanely comfortable.
I highly recommend it. So shop now at fabletics.com slash critical role to get 70 to 80% off
everything when you sign up as a new VIP. Take a quick style quiz and be sure to select
critical role when prompted to unlock your 70 to 80% off. This is a limited time offer,
so don't wait. Again, that's fabletics.com slash critical role for 72.
80% off everything as a new VIP. And now, on to the show.
Greetings Adventurers. Lately, I've been getting a bit more intentional about what I wear
from day to day, because instead of just falling out of whatever laundry baskets nearby,
I've been leaning into pieces that feel easy and comfortable, but still put together,
because it just makes getting dressed simpler when I have a plan. Quince has been my go-to to help
with that, because the fabrics feel elevated, the fits are clean, and everything just works
without me needing to overthink it.
And Quint says all the wardrobe staples you need for spring.
Think 100% European linen shorts and shirts from just $34.
They're lightweight, they're breathable, they're comfortable, your legs and torso will thank you,
and you will still look put together.
And clean 100% Pima Cotton Tees with a softness, well, you gotta feel that to believe it, believe you me.
Their pants also hit that same balance.
They're relaxed, they're comfortable, but still polished enough to wear basically anywhere.
And everything's priced between 50 and 80% less than what you'd find at similar brands.
Quince works directly with ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen so you're getting premium materials without the markup.
And since spring is here in Los Angeles, a brief period where it's 75 degrees instead of 95 degrees,
I spruced up my wardrobe with a pair of the comfort stretch traveler five pocket pants and the heritage wash denim shirt.
Not only do they feel great, but I unequivocally look good as hair.
hell while wearing them. That's just science. So refresh your every day with luxury you'll actually
use. Head to quince.com slash critical roll for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns.
Now available in Canada too. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.com slash critical roll for free shipping and 365

encases it, kind of wraps around it, that it wasn't just pressed into it, it's put there
intentionally.
I say we're smashing.
I say we remove it, at the very least. See what happens?
And you dis-on-
All those sound like bad ideas.
Terrible. Does anybody have a good idea?
Why don't we just walk past it?
I'm kind of with Scanlan. I say we just go.
In the absence of bad ideas, bad ideas, I think are always reasonable.
But maybe, maybe mine and Scanlan do you do a good idea.
Maybe just try to get through the room. Some of us stay on one side, some of us stay on one side, some
other people go through and see what happens to the first person.
I would like, so long as you all will pick me up off the floor, I'd like to skirt the entire
side of the room.
And just go through the other door.
See if I can make it to the other door.
All right.
Please help me if I fall down.
Sure.
After a good giggle.
Okay.
So as the floor ramps down towards the center, you kind of follow it along the wall, making
your way across, kind of looking.
You notice as you go across the wall, there are three
three more of these same opal stones embedded in the wall about shoulder height. In the wall.
In the wall as you go across. Is it one in the middle and then one in the center of each
wall? Just on your wall? Just on my wall. Just on your wall, there's three along the way. There's
one in the center of the room in line with the central opal, and there's two to the sides
of it about four feet from each other.
I'm very low with my butt dragging along the floor and just sort of...
So you notice that you skirt underneath...
Leaning my back against the wall.
Okay. So they pass overhead.
As you make your way underneath the three opals on this part of the wall, making your way up
the other ramp to the other side.
Continued perception check?
Make perception check?
Oh, that's good.
23.
Okay.
You make your way up this side, looking about on the floor, nothing seems to happen,
nothing catches your eye, you get onto this upper platform and there is the door there in front
of you.
Check the traps on the door.
That is 24.
The door does not appear to be trapped.
Or locked?
It does not appear to be locked.
It does not seem to have a mechanism for opening
other than if you wanted to try and push it.
Go through it.
Go, let's get out of here.
They wouldn't build a huge bronze trap room
within their castle.
Sure they wouldn't.
No, they've lived here in peace for five years.
five years. What would they need this for? This has some sort of use for their magic. This is not a trap room.
We should try to remove one of the stones.
No.
A question. Are the stones like mathematically adjacent to each other? Do they appear to be kind of lined up?
Well, as you can tell, there's the one in the center of the middle of the floor.
Then there's two, there's one on the wall that he walked across. And as you look to the other wall, there are another matching set of three on the, on both.
both walls.
And they're all lined up.
And they're all lined up.
There's the two in the center of the room that match the one on the floor, and then there's
one to each side of that about four feet from them.
Okay, I'm going to walk in a little bit.
Are there any on the ceiling?
Looking up, make a perception check.
No.
You get lost in the beauty of the description.
I was going to love to see if there's one matching the one on the floor.
It's good.
It's good.
Damn.
On the door.
Yeah, that's a nice thing.
27.
Looking up, no.
Looking up, no, there is no, the ceiling is just smooth white stone.
You pushing the door, it doesn't open.
It is solid stone, and as you push and as you push and kind of look, you can see,
there's no hinges looking at where it meets the wall.
It looks like it's slid down into a groove.
It's actually like a door that would lift or sink.
Strong man, the grog.
Some way should perform it slides into place.
Grog doesn't have an earring, does he?
Yeah, I do.
You do?
I don't know it's now something of the stars.
We all have earrings right now.
Grog, I'm...
He's right there.
Just fucking talk to him.
He's across an 80-foot room.
Whatever.
I'm not going to shout down here.
There's a big heavy thing.
You're the best you are at what you do.
So do you think you could shimmy along in your tummy along the side wall?
Don't stand up because there's gems in the walls along the way,
and I don't know what they do.
So stay low, please.
and come meet me up here.
I just kind of want to walk across the room.
Do it. Do it.
I just walk across the room.
Okay, so you watch in horror as Grog just strolls
full, upright back, hammer in his arm
with a big one in his face, looking like a really burly Percy.
I should have to keep reminding myself.
It's very curious visual every time.
I adjust my amazing spectacles.
Passes right through the center of where these opals are aligned across from each other.
seeming no effect.
Makes his way up the ramp to where you are on the opposite side of the room.
I'm going to go get my sword.
Okay, go pick up.
Hang on, hang on.
Go lift the thing.
Any pig.
What Grog does that.
Can I, do I have any idea where we are geographically in the city, like underground?
Keeping track best you can, you gather your, you're about a quarter mile from the center of the city, from the square.
the square where the Sun Tree is.
It's a quarter mile south of you.
Probably not under the century.
Currently no.
I have a thought.
Okay.
Walking up to the door,
does it look like I can get any purchase
with my little finger bits?
Nope.
It is flush with the ground.
I have a pickax that I picked up before we left.
Okay.
Can I swing it at the bottom and try and find some purchase
under the door with the country pickax?
Yeah, go ahead.
I'd like to try that.
Go ahead and roll an athletics check to see if you can
Next check to see if you can manage to put picking in there.
16?
16. Okay, so you take it and you try and do it a few wax in, it's not really getting any of them.
Make a strength check. Nice.
Oh no.
You swing with the pickaxe downward for a full, angry grog swing, and as you hit, you feel
the pickaxe move further than it before, and for a split second, your brain's like, great!
And you look down and notice that the actual handle of the pickaxe has shattered from the impact broken into.
We're not thinking about this clearly.
Thinking?
We've been beaten by doors before, but God damn it, we're not going to be beaten today.
I go to the center of the room and I find that little button thing.
This is completely unlike any other truth.
I'm going to press it.
Good.
Okay.
Stand on it, in fact.
You go and press your thumb down on it.
It doesn't move.
It doesn't shift.
It doesn't give away at all.
It just stays in place.
As you pull your thumb away, though, you notice that the gym has a very soft, faint white glow to it.
And a second after you pull your thumb away, it fades back.
I walk over to the wall and touch one of the other.
I touch another one.
You guys all place your hands against the opals and the sides, and checking, as you pull your hand away, the opals kind of glow brightly white again and then fade.
Pike.
I am Captain Planet.
No.
Touch one of the stones, Grog.
I'll touch the stones.
Okay.
Touch one, too.
All right, so that's three on one side.
Who's got the middle one?
Who's got the middle one?
You stick in the middle one?
I'm in the middle.
I got one, I got one.
Yeah, can Trinket touch a stone?
Or Cassandra.
Cassandra, make yourself useful, for Christ's sakes.
It's advice.
Yeah, you guys have seven with Pike, yeah.
We have seven.
Mnobolea where I'm from.
Pike, you grabbing a stone or not?
What was that?
Are you touching a stone or not?
Yes, I am.
Okay.
Seven, that's seven.
Okay, so three on one side, three on the other.
Trinket kind of keeping there with anticipation up next
to you.
You know, Pike, you put your hand on the final stone.
The moment passes.
This is totally going to work.
Come on, guys.
Seem to have an immediate effect.
Oh, wait, wait.
No, maybe if we all think about the strength of our friendship and bond together.
This is our time now.
Hold on, hold on.
As much as I love Pike, you aren't a real person right now.
Okay.
Maybe we should swap out Pike.
Pike, is you pull your hand away.
The stone is glowing.
Oh.
And it fades moment until they have to put your hand in there.
Oh, that does work.
Never mind, Pike, I love you.
Are there any on the ceiling?
No.
Nothing on the ceiling.
Do we see any missing ones?
Anything.
Roll a perception check.
We had a copper, right?
What?
These gems are opal.
This is like...
21.
21?
Okay.
Looking about...
Cassandra, actually, kind of goes up towards the far ramping.
Seems to notice something,
walks up to where the door is, and looking at the door is,
at the foot of the door, she kind of moves her hand out of the way and puts her hand down
on a hidden eighth opal.
At which point there's a shift, a sound of stone shifting loudly.
And those bars across the ceiling, the green bars, let loose a bit of dust, and two large
walls of green glass.
Fuck.
Slam downward to the front and back of you, locking all seven of you.
of you into the center of this bronze room.
Where's Cassandra?
Maybe it's a transporter.
Maybe it's a transporter.
It's not, I think I know what it is.
What is it?
What do you think you know what it is?
Shit, we've got to get out of here right now.
We're all on the, we're in the glass.
You can actually, Cassandra runs up to the glass
and kind of puts her hands to it, and you can hear a voice saying,
Is everyone all right?
Is she on the other side of it?
Yes.
She went up to the far platform, which, by the way, you notice immediately this glass,
this kind of weird, warped glass that forms these walls.
is the same material as the shards of green glass that you've found broken on parts of the ground in the undercroft.
Grog, can you hit it?
Yep.
Anybody who have any objections?
No!
Okay, I swing away.
Okay.
You go, and Cassandra takes a step back.
Go ahead and roll from attack.
Is the door opening behind her?
The door is opening actually behind her.
Oh!
Oh, shit.
19?
Okay. You go ahead and you strike four feet.
and you strike four to go ahead and roll damage.
16?
16.
Okay.
You strike with all your might across the front of the glass.
Cassandra kind of steps back as the might of it hits.
A streak of green sparks fly off the edge of the blade as it careens across the burn of this.
Leaving bare but a scratch across the stone.
At this point, you guys see the door opening behind Cassandra and two figures step behind behind.
God.
Damage.
test, um, Thunderwave, maybe the shit can only be taken down with magic.
Wait, but do we, you're gonna hurt up?
I dip my arrows and holy oil.
Okay.
No, it's just a push bell, but it's like a radiant damage.
I know what it is.
Yeah, but you guys are behind the glass.
All right. We're all in the glass.
We're all in the glass.
We're all gonna get hit by what you're doing.
Well, if it breaks the glass, we want to be stuck in the glass.
Might as well die one word, huh?
You wanted me to try and I don't know.
Just do it.
While all this is happening, I pulled the vial of poison that I traded from that hag and start
to drip it down onto my blade of life stealing behind the group.
Okay.
As you guys are kind of gather back and up at this point, Grog, I don't know if you're
still swinging.
Oh yeah, I'm just back on the .
Whack.
Whack.
As this is happening, are you preparing Thunderwave?
You said you want to try?
Do it.
You said you wanted to do it.
Just do it.
All right, I take my staff, crack it down.
Hold my ears.
Ask it underwave. See if I can shatter this glass.
With a loud sound blast, echoing through the room, you can hear the reverberation of the
actual bronze material sending back the vibrations of the blast of the spell.
And all of you who weren't covering your ears very hardly, it still creeps through and it kind
of rings your head a little bit. As the blast hits the glass, it seems to have no effect.
Like the actual essence of the spell itself is scattered across its surface.
Okay.
This residual-sealed green glass.
The two figures step into a little bit of light
is now visible from Percy's torch that is twisted through the warped surface of this glass wall.
And you see before you, Lord and Lady Briarwood, stepping up to the wall, looking through,
their warped visage through the glass, looking down into the chamber that you're all currently locked in.
Oh, is this, is this your room?
I didn't even realize we were really anything else.
I didn't even realize we were in your house right now. How good to see you again, darling.
Silas just leans forward and kind of puts his hand with the class and says,
and hello to you too. And welcome to all of you.
Well, my dear, at which point Delilah kind of steps forward to and goes,
I was hoping for a more formal reunion, but you insisted on riling up the populace
in tying up the bulk of our forces.
That's unfortunate, really.
That's how this.
Mm-hmm.
Now the doors open behind them, right?
Mm-hmm.
If I use perception, do I see anything behind them, anything, any kind of switch or level or anything?
Don't make perception, check.
20.
20?
Looking across the way, but barely able to peer past them with very little light in the distortion of the glass,
you can see what's...
can see what seems to be some sort of a smooth stone kind of placard that's embedded in the wall
just on the other side of the door.
Just outside the door.
Yeah.
Then...
I...
Yes.
Pull the cape around me, and I dimension door.
What?
Oh, shit!
Oh shit!
Right by the placard.
And jam my hand on that.
Okay.
You can do that?
You, all of a sudden, vanish from that room.
You press your hand into that placard.
You can notice Silas looks over your shoulder with a slight look of unexpected surprise.
A smile still across his face.
Can I go ahead and start conjuring Sunbeam?
That's if you want to.
Like, it's a spell that you do as you do it, meaning you can't really hold it in play.
Okay.
You pressed the platform.
No!
Keep going.
Keep going.
She's true.
Yeah.
As you push it in, there's a sound of grinding stone again.
However, the walls stay in place.
There are two of the bronze, the highest bronze plates that are pressed against the wall,
shift inside and move out of the way.
God damn it.
And two big tubes push out.
God damn it.
Push outward.
Silas looks over his shoulder and says, well, I was not expecting you to want to see your friends
dissolved quite so quickly, but certainly.
Fucking fucking fuck.
Oh my God, we're going to die.
As you guys look up this green viscous liquid begins to pour.
I stop.
I pull out gun and I, like the second those hit, I've seen this coming because I've
fucking copper room, fucking acid.
Ice shot to the one tube.
Do my best to reload as quickly as I can,
and ice shot to the other.
I'm going to try and clog them with ice, at least temporarily.
OK.
Go ahead and make your first shot.
That's 15.
27.
27, OK.
To hit.
And that's 10 plus 3 points of ice damage.
OK.
the bullet slams into the bottom of this tube.
And the tube itself is not made of any real thick material.
It's a similar material to the bronze
the rest of this room is constructed,
and it seems like it's brought in some by some sort of mechanism
that locks it into place.
As the bullet strikes the bottom of it,
bends it upward, kind of closing off part of its passageway,
and locking off the other half with ice,
seemingly holding it for the time being.
While you're reloading, while you're reloading,
I need you to go ahead,
make a wisdom saving throne.
I have advantage.
You do.
And because we're here as a feast.
And the feast does what?
The feast just gives you advantage.
Try it.
The feast gives me advantage, well, but it doesn't stack, right?
So I just roll to 16.
Should you roll the 16?
All right.
It was a good thought.
As you pull your hand out of the switch,
Silasus gaze pierces into your eyes
and your blades, before you even have mummed notice,
have already sheed themselves,
and you step into the room alongside the two of them.
The jewels, it was what lowered the glass.
Break the jewels.
Silas comes and pats you on the shoulder and goes,
However, it doesn't hurt to have friends.
Thankfully, we were ahead of our residual production schedule
and a few minor modifications to our distillery.
Every room made an excellent trap for you. Delilah turns to eminces. A bit on ceremonies,
but I'm not in the moon to break a sweat today. We're still weeks off from being ready,
and I have much work to do, at which point they both kind of look over and put their hands
on Cassandra, and Cassandra's still standing there, kind of staring at the room with a look
of coldness mixed with this brimming sense of desperation and worry. There's like this crux moment
in her where she's, there's this inner conflict within her right now.
I take a swing at the jewel that I was holding my hand over.
I want to get my second shot.
I would like to quickly get my second shot.
Reload, second shot.
Um, uh, 15?
15?
Uh, as you fire the second one, it ricochets off the bronze nearby.
The liquid begins to pour in now.
One side is currently held, the other half, spills.
McGins just cascading into the room.
I drink my potion of flying that I took from Ripley.
You chugged a portion of flying, and you begin lifting off the ground.
The rest of you, you do have these two ramps that push up at least about five feet towards where these glass walls are.
But the bottom of this entire room is beginning to fill with this liquid.
Can I go ahead in on my, I'm assuming I have spigots in my room.
We're each in like individual rooms.
No, you're all in the same room, sealed by two rooms.
That's why the Thunderwave hit us off, because we're all in the room.
in one giant room again.
Okay, okay.
Can I get that jewel?
And all the gems are in our room, correct?
Correct, yes.
All the gems except for the one that Cassandra touched.
Yeah.
Can I get the fucking Joel?
Do it.
Yeah, do it.
Okay.
The P-T.
Okay.
You reach out and strike the gem.
Go ahead and roll damage.
No, he doesn't.
No fire damage, so 15.
15?
Okay.
You strike the gem as hard as you can.
You can see it crack a little bit from the impact.
The actual gym itself has.
has a small crack run through its center.
Are you guys all currently at the top of the ramps?
We're backing up to her we're not in the middle of the asset.
Is what I'm asking, yeah.
Trinkets kind of backed up awkwardly,
gets the back in some looking really uncomfortable.
Cassano puts her hand up to the wall and it kind of looks at a group of you.
Which one is my Percy?
I walk up, I look at her, and I smile.
All right. See you soon. And we're going to go right into pulling out the gun and preparing.
Preparing what?
We're going to take out these gems.
Okay.
We're going to be fine, but we have to do it now.
While they take out the gems, these earrings work telepathically, right?
No.
You actually talk into it, it happens.
Okay, I'm going to kind of back into the corridor while you guys handle the gyms and start talking it back.
There's no corridor. You're inside, you're a seal.
The ramp, whatever the back.
Okay, you're backing up on the ramp.
As you're doing that.
You're gonna be fine, go.
She kind of leans forward with her hand up to the wall
and looks at you in the eyes.
You can see there's like tears running down her face
and she says,
Your sister left us the day those arrows found my chest.
She did not die from those wounds,
but to watch you leave me there in the snow
and I have a destiny with the whispered one.
She steps back as the two Raiwitz put their arms
around your sister.
And even still, there's like a shake to her voice,
and you can see in her eyes there's a quake.
She speaks words of conviction,
but you know deep inside, even there's conflict.
At which point, Delilah kind of kisses her in the head
and says, don't worry my idea.
It'll be over soon.
And they turn around and step into the hallway they entered from.
One question, and I'm assuming I'm gone,
but in combat, I would be able to roll
a wisdom save every six seconds, right?
No, for this, you are technically charmed for 24 hours.
Can I start talking about?
Can I hit the gentleman, please?
All right.
Can I hunter's mark them?
You could attempt to.
I attempt to.
Okay. You go to attempt hunter's mark, and as the energy springs forth in your hand,
it hits the green wall and scatters across.
arcane nature of the spell halted immediately.
Yeah, figured as much.
Now at this point, as you're going for the nearest gem on the wall.
Yeah, the same one I hit before that cracked a little.
Okay, so go ahead and take another shot.
21.
All right. You strike down the statement, go ahead and roll damage.
It's the one on the wall, yeah?
Yeah, the same one I hit before.
I'll get 15, 15 again, there's no fire damage.
Okay.
You strike the gem this time the gem shatters.
Pieces of it go flying out of the area and parts of it just turn a
dust and chunks hit and kind of roll down into the acid.
Pss. Acid, which now is about a foot and a half, two feet high, and is slowly rising.
Oh, God!
I step into the acid.
Okay.
And I start hitting the one in the center.
Okay.
With my fucking stupid sword.
I shoot my exploding arrow at the glass.
At the glass? Okay.
Oh.
Oh, okay.
Big, big arrow?
It's an exploding arrow.
It's an exploding arrow.
You guys watch Vax turn around and begin to follow the Briarwoods.
I start talking to Vax.
Vax.
It's Kiki.
Don't forget who you are.
You are stronger than this.
You are stronger than them.
You are not a Briarwood.
You are Vox Machina.
And we can't lose you.
I can't lose you.
You're our only hope.
Please.
You can overcome this, please.
Scanlan, we can attack.
18 plus something.
I don't know how to hit things.
Go ahead and roll your damage for the sword.
Is that a D20?
It says one D8 plus three.
Yep.
Okay, that's not much.
Something, it's something.
Can Pike do something?
There it is.
Mike wants to.
You guys are all together still.
Mike, do some cool shit, 11.
I'm halfway here.
The stupid, stupid and out of stroke projection
is driving me nuts.
Oh no.
As you wade into the acid, you feel the sting as it hits your body.
You immediately take five points of acid damage.
I have a potion of acid resistance that I drank.
You did, so you take three.
Three points of acid damage.
And you strike down, arching down the acid splashes, parts of it kind of go across your face.
You can feel the tingle of it just burn the outside of your skin, but not enough to really cause
any serious damage.
Not the face.
But you strike down it and you find it hit the gem and then slide off as a
it hits, but you feel it give a bit on the impact.
Anyone else want to do anything right now?
I was going to shoot the exploding arrow at the glass door.
All right, go ahead and roll the tag.
I did. It was 22.
22, all right.
So you release the arrows.
It streaks across the room,
hits the glass and it explodes the reverberating crack.
You guys all in the middle of trying to figure out the
scenario didn't cover your ears in time,
and it nearly deafens you from the blast, the impact
and the reverberation on the room.
However, go ahead and roll damage on that,
roll arrow damage.
Uh-huh.
an additional 4D6 points of damage.
Oh shit, that would have been so good to have on them.
I'm sorry.
As my bonus action, I turn to Percy and I say,
Percy, we're surrounded by metal and glass and stone above us.
Is there anything we can do to that stone?
White stone's pretty strong.
I don't think.
Can't it burn?
Can't you do things with stone, Keel?
Can't burn stone?
What about lightning?
We're going to kill ourselves?
Do we do that?
You can stone...
Oh, God.
You could get out of it.
So what's the damage on that?
I know, I know, I know it.
I couldn't take move Earth because we needed sunbeing.
Yeah, we needed sunbeen.
I have wall of stone.
What is that?
We could buy us more time before we get on it.
It makes a wall of stone.
43?
Okay.
It hits the glass, and as the explosion settles,
the smoke kind of rises up to this thing.
You can see a portion of the glass wall, about 10 feet up.
Shards have been chiseled out from the glass.
out from the explosion. It's taken some damage. Not a heavy amount, but you can see there
has been a portion of the wall that has been scraped away.
About 10 feet up?
About 10 feet up, yeah.
Can I run over there? I'd have to run through the acid?
You would have to, yeah. Unless you want to try and jump across.
You can try and jump across if you want to. I have resistance. Yes, I would like to jump across,
run over, and start swinging on that section.
Okay. What side is this on the ceiling? This is on the side that they left.
Okay.
Yeah.
Which the door is now closed, by the way, and Vax is nowhere inside.
The door closed again?
Jesus Christ.
Did I do like great weapon master and hit three times?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah?
Scanlon, are you making another strike at the gem?
Absolutely. Is it my turn again?
This is all kind of fluid. We'll go with this as you go and you're taking your shot.
I'm taking three shots at one of the gems.
Okay. Go for it.
17 to hit.
It's going to roll damage.
Ten.
Ten.
You strike down a second time.
Acid now beginning to rise. The level is now almost up to your chest.
And it's a little harder for you to swing, but you still manage to strike. True.
You take four points of acid damage, but you can feel the damage itself is mounting.
It's growing with each progressive amount of you that is currently submerged.
You strike down. Thankfully, the liquid isn't too thick, and you still manage to push
their most of your force, your magical blade guiding it down to the gem, and you feel it
beneath you. Crack and shatter.
One down. One down.
One down.
We have two down.
Two down.
the two of you.
Does there appear to be any weak points in the metal anywhere?
Not that you can tell at a quick glance.
Everything's pretty solid, and it's been used multiple times.
You see now that this room is used and what they used to melt down all the white stone
into the residual component during the construction of the Cigarotte.
Some of the notes mentioned it.
Ripley mentioned a little bit, but this is bad.
The acid melts white stone?
It appears to, yeah.
It does, yeah.
Like the light stone on the ceiling?
Yeah.
The acid that's filling in melts that.
Okay, well that changes things.
Does my control water spell, would that work with the acid?
There's such a little water component that that spell is used to focusing on.
It would be a little hard for you to do that in enough of amount to actually do any serious effect.
Is acid go through glass?
No.
The three heads were a 15 and 20.
Glass is specifically how you contain acid.
Can I take one of my glass vials that I have and try to get some acid and put it up on ceiling?
You can definitely fill up, but it's a little way it's up.
I'm in a flying.
Oh yeah, with flying.
You can do it.
You're flying?
I took the flying post.
Yep.
So you delved down, and it's still pouring in the ice on the other side, by the way.
Shatters as liquid continues now pouring from both sides, doubling the speed in which is.
I'm doubling the speed in which I'm going to be.
I'm talking my three shots at the next jam.
Go for it.
Am I high enough that I can see where the pipes are coming in at?
Yeah.
So I could potentially grab a hold of one of the pipes on the ceiling and try to move it.
You're good, yeah.
So I want to try to grab a hold of one of those pipes and aim it towards the ceiling if I can move it.
Okay, we'll get to that in just a moment.
Okay.
The first one was 21.
Okay.
And then the second shot is, dear God, it hits.
Eighteen, 20, 28.
Yeah.
to the 30.
All right.
Third shot is 26.
All right, all three hit. Go ahead and roll damage for all those.
That's 14.
Okay.
First shot.
Oh, my God.
Die.
Eleven for the second shot.
And 14 for the third shot.
All right.
You unload three bullets in a row.
You see before even the last one hits, the Opel itself just shatters off from the final blast.
leaving the vacuous hole where it once was embedded in the wall.
So Vex, you move up and you grab onto it.
You begin to try and shove it, and even with your fly spell,
you don't have a lot of weight behind it, so you kind of put yourself up against the wall.
Find some leverage against one of the metal plates that holds the,
or one of the sections of the bars that holds the metal plates in place,
and you lift, and you should go ahead and make a strength check.
Oh, God.
I'm the weakest.
No, no, not this time.
I can't have trick it.
Does it fly?
Do I get a bit?
Edge?
Not for this, you don't.
Damn it.
Can I help around and cast it?
Get on, get those little of vegetation.
Get them on.
Fly up, because I just rolled a fucking zero.
Literally a zero.
You grab it and as you're holding onto it, you know,
the metal, it's pliable.
Like it's not a very, very hard metal.
But you just don't have the strength physically in this one attempt
one attempt to bend in any way, shape or form.
Can I use, like, my dagger that I have?
I have a dagger.
Well, I was going to say, hang on.
Use your dagger, and I'm going to see what she's doing.
I'm going to cast my heat metal spell on it.
And start heating and melting it.
The pipe?
Yeah.
Okay.
So you reach over and cast heat metal, the pipe,
the section where it joins the looks.
It sticks out about two and a half feet from this point.
So you can grasp it there.
You look over and see the metal itself beginning to heat up,
beginning to glow.
Did I try to litch it while it's?
You can.
I wrap my hands in a cloth, then I do it.
Okay, so you take your cloak and wrap it up.
Yeah.
Good call.
I say to everybody, when Cassandra put her hand on the hidden gem outside of the glass,
it closed the doors, right?
Yeah.
If I put my hand on that, while you're putting your hands on the inside gems, it might open the doors, right?
Potentially, but we destroyed them.
Yeah, but maybe if you just do the other ones, it would still work.
Is it worth a shot?
Did you mention door out there?
I could.
Do you?
Do you.
Do you?
You can take one person.
You could have to be something.
My height.
Of your size, medium creature, I consider.
Of my size, not my height?
Well, you are as a gnome's small creature, aren't you?
But he's a Percy size right now.
I'm pretty sure.
No, well, it's fake, though.
Let me double check this real fast.
Noam is considered small, so yeah, I would have to be a small creature for you.
I can take pike.
All right, let's go.
Let's go.
At least it'll be- Do it.
Wait, no.
Just try it.
There's four of us in here.
There's four gems left.
How many gyms were left inside?
Four.
But it's also, it could be that that's the only gem that's necessary.
That really counts.
Or I could go outside the stone door and see if there's any more buttons out there to press.
I think going outside is a good idea.
Just go.
Go outside.
Frog, do you want to make your strikes?
Hi, shall I take you with me?
Yes, let's go.
Go.
The best thing I've ever heard.
You and me in a room alone together.
17.13.
The first two hit.
Okay.
Then the alternative we hit.
It was a 15, 20, and 23 in the hits, and those were the damage.
Oh, that was the damage.
Oh, gotcha.
So as you slam into it, slam into it with each progressive hit,
you can see the glass itself that's just kind of gliding off the blade.
You're doing bits of damage, but it's going to take you a while.
You could get through this in about 10 minutes.
But right now, the ass is now lifted and filled up to the point where it's
where the next round, everyone's going to start being submerged.
I take Pike by the hands and I will dimension door out through the glass to where she put her
hand on the hidden chain. Is that right? All right. So you reach over and you step out of the
acid, kind of out of it and stripping off the lower half of your body is still kind of this
sizzling smoke is pouring off your body from where the elephant's...
The other pants are singed.
It's a pretty nice fan.
Don't leave any cravices.
You walk up the ramp, you grab Pike, and the two of you,
who appear on the other side of the glass door, up on the platform where Cassandra pressed the final.
Pike, now's a good time to talk about us, don't you think?
Or should we just, no, we'll just put my hand on the gem.
Okay.
Scanlon, not now.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
You put your hand on the gem, and...
and put your hand away for a second and see the gem itself is glowing,
but it does not seem to be a reaction coming out.
I try to put your hands on the other non-destroyed gems.
Go ahead, make the strength check now with the heat metal.
Okay.
We're running over to the other gems.
Come on, Vex.
Yeah.
Come on.
That's way better. That's way better.
13.
13. Okay. With the help of the heat metal, which has managed to make the metal more pliable,
you do still take three points of fire damage through,
because the metal itself is burning, and you're putting your weight against it,
and pushing against the edge of the wall,
you pull it up, and it gets arcing,
upward, and you kind of push it over
in the direction of the wall where he is.
Yeah, at the ceiling.
Yeah, because there is force, like,
just pushing it outward.
As it arcs over, it starts splattering across the white stone
on the ceiling.
As it hits, the white stone dissolves,
and you can see it's causing these huge pock marks
in the actual stone above the glass.
I do that more.
Keep banging it, I keep doing it.
Okay.
I'm gonna go ahead and start
switching my heat metal spell over to the other spigot.
Oh, when I fly over the other side.
Okay.
Same thing.
Okay.
It's not quite hitting the full ceiling.
You'd probably take another round to keep directing it if you want to.
It's up to you.
You can either keep directing this one.
Right now it's just starting to just take the ceiling.
Yeah, I'll keep directing it.
Okay. Moving it over there.
What are you doing?
I'm running over to the gym.
Put your hands on the gems.
Running over to a gem.
Okay.
You guys go and make your attacks on separate gems?
No, no, we're going to put our hands on the gym, right?
Oh, you're putting hands on it?
I'm going to hands on, see if anything happens and if nothing
I'm just going to pull out my sword and just start whacking it.
So you guys run up and put your hands on the gems.
Can they get two gems each?
They've both gotten two gems each.
Okay.
And my hand is on the bottom gem.
On the bottom gem.
Oh, wait.
You could technically, yeah, you could do.
You could do it.
You could.
He's tall.
Because there's only four gems left.
Yeah.
Really.
So you could.
Trinckett do the other one?
Where's Trinket?
Trinket's like up against the wall,
and the side's very scared right now.
We need a fourth hand.
We need a fourth hand.
Don't drink your cool.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
Still keeping my heat mope smell up.
Okay, so you place all your hands on the gems?
Uh-huh.
No apparent effect.
Fuck!
I pull out my sword and just start whacking.
Fuck you, Jim!
Make him the strength check.
Shit falls.
Guys, the Briarwood's personal quarters are really plush.
Oh my gosh.
They're sick.
No.
Los Zero again?
You can't quite move the middle enough this time.
It's still arcing and it's hitting.
It's fattering against the glass, no effect on the glass,
but it's starting to hit elements of the feeling nearer it needs.
You can see the stone is being eaten away. At this point, everyone who's currently on the ground
suffers three points of acid damage, as it's now beginning to reach up to your shins.
You take two.
No, I'm out.
And I'm resistant.
No, you're outside. You're fine. You and Pike don't. Pike, you don't, because you and Skamen are outside of the room.
And I'm resistant.
Yeah, so you take two.
Pike, my love.
Pike, my love, is there any way that you can get to the other side of this stone wall to see what's...
Break the gem.
Break the... break your gem.
Break my gem?
The outside gem.
Break the outside gem.
Pressing...
You hear Percy yelling from the other side of the...
All I hear is...
Borgher!
Break the outside gem!
I think Percy wants us to kiss, Pike!
Kiss!
No!
No! You dare get to the divider!
Is it the power of love who inspires?
You can put the power in love!
Can I, I take my hand and I guiding bolt my hand on top of the gem.
Okay. Go ahead and roll a spell attack for guiding bolt.
Or is it saving throw or not for the guiding bolt? Let me check.
Maybe you can hit it with a maze, Pike.
Guiding bolt. Yeah, make a range spell attack.
Oh, yes.
With advantage, because it's right in front of your hand.
Okay.
So just roll 2D20s, take the higher of the two, and add your spell attack modifier.
Gold as ice, Mercer.
We're hit Jim, can't, yeah.
Okay.
You can, yeah.
Sorry.
What'd you say?
Sorry.
16.
16. She said 16.
16. Yeah, that's easy enough.
So go ahead and roll your damage for your guiding bolt.
It's 46 radiant damage.
4D6.
Amazing.
Okay, okay, okay.
Okay. So go ahead and roll damage for your check.
At this point, you're not seeing the AC for these.
It's pretty easy to see.
Really hard to lift this fight with my flying little arms.
Make another strength check.
17.
No, no.
Your gem shatters.
I rolled a 30 to hit.
Yeah, it is.
12 for strength?
You managed to move to the side.
You take two points of fire damage as the heat from the actual metal itself is starting to push through the leather and you can feel it kind of burning the edge of your skin.
Okay.
But you do arc it over a little further, and it now begins to...
It's now pouring onto the ceiling and splashing over and down over the glass wall.
Oh.
You can see the stonework is melting through, and after a few seconds of this, you begin to see the top of where the glass wall...
Get over it.
As the wall dissipates and the acid begins to push through the rest of the white stone, you guys look up.
and you can see the ceiling above you begin to turn dark for a second before part of the case to
blb-b-b-b-b-b-ddd.
Drip acid into the small chamber that the two of you currently are standing in.
Can you dimension you go out? Okay. I-you-gold have to turn the acid off.
A total of 20 damage?
Yeah.
Yeah. The gem on the ground before you shatters with a blast of radiant energy.
And does the stone door behind us open?
No, you still have one more gem left. That's one that you were touching.
Oh, we have another gem.
Hit it!
Get it.
I'm going to put my hand on it and do...
Squeeze gem.
Squeeze Jim.
I'm going to do another thunder wave.
Bam, see if I can thunderwave bracket.
These things are really easy to kill.
Yeah, that's a lot of energy.
All right, go ahead and roll damage on the thunder wave.
They can kill by not a lot or by a lot?
They get killed by like hitting them with your fist.
11 points of damage.
11 points of damage? Okay. The Thunderwave resounds off and you see the gem crack in place, but it's still held in its current position in the wall.
Hit me a step.
At this point in time, as you guys finish this, the ceiling begins to open into a tunnel above you and acid begins to fill the room that both of you guys are in.
Did I, me and pipe? Yeah, both you guys.
Like, I think it's raining. Did I finish killing my jam?
You did, yes. Okay, I'm going to take a shot if I have another.
if I have anything else to do.
I only, can I take a shot at the gem that she just cracked?
Yep.
Does it look like a big enough tunnel now
that I can move the pipe?
Uh, it, right now a person could climb through over top of the green water.
A Goliath?
And a bear?
At this point, we've been leaving over and slopping over.
You could probably squeeze them through.
A bear, you'd have to push.
We need to Poo style, but it's doable.
18?
18 hits, yeah.
Um, that's 16 points of damage.
The last gem shatters from the blast of the gun.
Pieces of the open kind of scatter across your face,
feel that you, you know, not enough to really correct you,
but it does catch you.
At which point, the green stone wall behind you
lifts up, or the room behind you.
The one in front of you tries to lift up
and is caught because there is currently part of the stone
that lifts it up has been dissolved.
We're smart.
Piper and Scanlan, you guys currently currently,
in that room suffer
three points of acid damage
as your side of the room is now
filling up with acid.
Dimitjean, do her out again.
Just a brief point.
Mine's halved, right?
So it's two.
Yeah.
Okay, out of frustration I see this,
can I do a wall of stone
from underneath the glass
to try and lift it up?
Yeah, okay.
Go ahead and roll
Dutonnie and add your wisdom check.
Just a bit of acid damage.
Still gonna have to get out through the stone.
Not great.
Oh, I'm gonna manage your wisdom, right?
Yeah.
It's not a wisdom save.
Fucking chip balls.
Ship balls.
Ship balls.
Wisdom, just wisdom?
Just wisdom.
Eight.
Eight.
Eight.
You use your wall of stone spell and you feel there is the stone surface beneath the,
beneath the bronze.
You actually can sense as the stone begins to push up from the white stone
beneath the bronze plates, and it hits and it just not strong
to force its way through both the bronze plating and the wall itself.
Five-five-level spell.
Can we lower a rope and get over the glass now?
It depends like a little space.
I mean, yeah, I'm going to stop.
Roll strength check to try and bend it away if you want to.
More.
Still got that heat metal.
Nine.
Yeah, with the heat metal.
Still up, concentration's well, yeah.
Yeah.
You, start moving it away.
I'm going to move it out of the way.
It's just as hard as you can.
My legs are way stronger than my arm.
It's shifting.
but it's going to take you another round
to probably move it over.
I got two tabs.
Pike and Scanlan.
You guys.
Like Chun Lee.
My legs are so strong.
You are technically.
So you, that's only one point of acid damage to both you
because these T6s are just rolling crap.
But this is the second round, as it's filled up.
So there's two of those actually.
Another one.
Another one.
So two points of acid damage, but you take it
because you're happy.
So two points of acid damage to you, Pike.
You're now up to about waist high in this acid
that's beginning to burn through and designed
resolve.
The, all right, so who's doing what now?
Anything?
Anyone else?
Are you just waiting on these guys to finish up with their next act?
Should I get out of here and try to working on the stone?
Go on the other side so that you can see if you can open up the door that leads out.
Pike, I'll ask you again.
Are we, how far out, how far, I'm so sorry, how far, how far out is the acid room from where we are right now?
Do you mean the room they're in?
No, the room that the acid is stored in.
You don't know, actually.
Oh, I mean the one that was way back?
Yeah.
That was quite a ways away.
Oh, damn it.
Okay, that was a...
It's probably a mile behind you.
Pike, is there any way that you can get through this stone wall to the other side to see what's there to play with some...
Oh, yeah, you're made of jelly.
Can you do it?
Oh, no, we can't hear you.
Oh, no.
Hold on, we can't hear you...
The darkness is consuming her.
Oh, no.
Oh, she's a night of...
Hanging up and calling you back.
Oh, no.
Oh, God.
It's terrible.
Oh, me?
Oh, me?
I am having some fabulous dark chocolate right now.
It is so good. They're feeding it.
Still can't.
Can you, Ashley?
There we go.
There we go.
Four.
Okay.
Okay, okay.
Okay, Pike, roll perception check.
Okay. Sorry, guys.
I don't know what's going on.
It's the evil.
I know it's the evil. It's so strong.
I've rolled in 19.
Okay.
As you guys are, the acids pouring and you're looking about,
You notice that the acid level raised to a certain point and doesn't seem to be continuing.
And actually glancing over, you see the door that the Briarwoods left out of behind you
is made of white stone. And the acid that has filled this chamber, which is usually sealed
off by the glass wall that is now spilled over through the ceiling, has actually dissolved
through the bottom of the door.
Awesome.
And at this time, it's begun to subside, almost like the liquid that's coming through
is not keeping up with the amount that is now pouring into the hallway behind you.
It's awesome.
On these guys, we're not going to drown.
Laura, make note the strength check.
Okay.
This is the best.
Oh, four.
Okay.
We're getting it all out of our system now.
You just can't move it.
At this point, the heat metal has burned your arms enough to the point where you're finding a hard time
managing to keep your muscles, pins together to move it.
It's just still, it's made of metal, guys.
But yeah, the wall you guys, the doorway that's right there is about waste hide to you is completely dissolved in the bottom and the last.
So we can swim through.
If you want to try, yeah.
I'm going to do that. I'm going to take a snorkel.
Okay. In doing so, Scanlan, you take eight points of acid damage, reduced to four because of your resistance.
You go through and pop out on the other side of the hallway.
It is a stone hallway and the acid is currently dissolving the ground below.
And it's just like sinking down into the ground kind of China Syndrome style.
Did there any buttons, knobs, levers?
Looking up, you do see immediately to your right in the hallway there is a stone square with a push plate.
Motherfucker.
That's what he pushed. Push it. Is that what, did I see Vax push that?
We all do. You saw Vax appear behind them and push something in that direction.
Okay, so I will push that.
Okay, you push it as it clicks inward. You hear the Vaxe
the grinding of gears in stone, and all of a sudden the tube that you're holding shutters for a second,
the fluid begins to stop spewing forth, the rest of it begins to just kind of glide out and eventually come to a stop as the acid stops pouring into the room.
The door that you swim under lifts up.
I guess I could have you done that before. Sorry.
Sorry.
I wanted to wait till they were gone.
Yeah.
That's what it was.
I was waiting till they were gone.
At this point in time now, you see where the opals were on the sides.
The portions that kind of keeps them housed,
slowly move into the wall, leaving these holes behind.
The one in the ground depresses and disappears,
as it does, the acid that's in the room begins to slowly drain out.
Yes.
Scandlin, what do you see on the other side of where you are?
I see Stone, Acid, a very handsome gnome.
Oh, wait, that's me.
And a big button that I just pressed.
We can see you now.
Oh, hi, see you guys.
We still blocking the way because the door won't open.
We need to get out of here.
We have to go up and over the fucking door, so that's what I have to do.
Up and over the wall.
The glass door that is partially destroyed.
They won't lower.
We cram the door.
No more buttons or lovers out there.
Nothing else.
Not currently.
You guys smashed everything that was in the vicinity.
We jammed the door.
It just won't open.
So there's a tunnel.
We can go up and over.
All right, do that.
We have rope.
Throw a rope over and get over.
So you wait a few moments for the level
to kind of rescind a little bit to the point
you can stand comfortably without taking any acid damage.
As it drains over, there is that portion of the ceiling now
where it's just pot marked and destroyed
close to where the glass wall hits the ceiling.
I use the earring and I go, Vax, please,
the acid is filling the room.
We're all dying. I don't know what to do.
As you're walking alongside the Briar Woods into a new chamber,
you hear the words hit your ear, and you can feel the back of your throat choking up
as a part of you is urging you to run back, and as you kind of stop instinctively in your step.
The rest of the group walks ahead about 10 feet before South takes over his shoulder,
and says.
Keep up, please. There's work to be done.
At which point you feel yourself just continue stepping forward and catching up to him because you wouldn't want to make Silas angry.
Yeah, I was just looking.
We can book you, David Tennant.
We've got to get out of this room.
Still made a copy.
Up and over.
Let's go.
All right.
So how are you guys getting over through the...
I have the rope of infinite rope-ness.
Roep-ness.
Okay.
So you take a few times to...
Do you want to just throw the rope over?
rope over, however you want to get the rope up over the area.
It takes a few tries, but you get it to, on the other side.
I've got the, I'm flying.
You're just like, drop it over, it's fine.
We'll save for the sake of brevity.
A few minutes past, you guys managed to get each one of you over.
Trinket being the hardest point.
I tie him and then grog lifts him like a pulley.
Very uncomfortable for everyone involved.
Which when Trinick reaches the top is like, it's like trying to fit an oblong object
through a hole, and I'm flying, so I kind of get out of a hole.
to get out with them and try to wedge him, help him get into the whole.
We'll say it takes an additional 10 minutes, but you managed to finally get Trinket
through.
Oh, I have a bunch of great point of the poop.
I'm really happy with that.
On the other side of the now pretty much ruined acid distillery, the residuum factory that
was constructed here by the Briar Woods. You can see in the tunnel before you most of the stone,
has dissolved in certain levels of eroded stonework that descends about 30 feet before
rockily climbing back up to the original height it was. It can be traversed, climbed with a mild
difficulty. But you gather yourselves to continue pushing forward and to both complete this
journey and to retrieve your ally who is now currently under the gaze of your enemy.
Okay.
And with that, we're going to take a bathroom break.
So, as you all kind of take a moment to re-gather yourselves after the circumstance, you climb
your way through this acid-scarred portion of the hallway ahead of you, this small tunnel,
get up to the other side. As you're on your way there, Percy, you notice a flash of purple and
black energy kind of curse up the front of you or pepperbox. You glance down at the 6 o'clock,
previously empty barrel and a new name now is in blazing across it.
It says Cassandra de rollo.
Oh my God.
Wait, that was on that empty barrel.
What?
He didn't know who is for.
Does any of us see this besides him?
You guys all come up to the top and you look down,
you see Percy stalled down kind of looking at his gun
in a wide-eyed, spacey expression on his face.
Possible?
You're right?
No.
Is your bangy thing okay?
Is it your sister?
We'll see what this means.
Oh, Percy.
Let's go take care of this.
Yeah, let's.
Oh, you always have a choice.
We'll see.
As you climb up out, you guys make your way down this tunnel.
No more than 60 feet from where you are
before the chamber opens up before you
and see what is a large underground capital.
mostly cleared out. It looks like portions of the tunnel and this area.
You can't if you like.
I think we should because as far as they know we're dead now.
The war is over and both sides lost.
Kingdoms were reduced to cinders, an army scattered like bones in the dust.
Now the survivors claw to what's left of a broken world, praying the darkness chooses
someone else tonight.
But in the shadow dark, the darkness always.

and when that flame dies, something else rises to finish the job. This is a brutal
rules-light nightmare with a story that emerges organically based on the decisions that the characters
make. This is what it felt like to play RPGs in the 80s, and man, it is so good to be back.

Okay, so everyone go ahead and roll stealth?
Should I tell them that way?
Um, oh my god. Yeah, I'm gonna cast pass without a trace on us. Okay.
I still critical failed. Okay. Wait, can't you roll again now that I told you
were casting? Nah, that old stays unfortunately.
No? Doesn't work that way? Yeah. All right, so stealth rolls plus ten to everyone's
stealth? Was it? 26. 26?
Next?
16.
Nice.
Nice.
35.
Yeah.
27.
Oh, right.
Hold on.
24.
Okay.
As a medium, the group does really well, so that kind of helps kind of overtake for your misstep.
God, it's cold in here.
Jesus.
Looking around, you'd see the boards and pieces of wood and stone that are keeping this hallway up, and as you step into this large chamber.
It's dark and mostly freshly carved earth, like elements of Earth been taken out.
You can see at the right and left of you as you enter this chamber,
there are more and more chunks of that broken stone and large piles of moved Earth that are in some levels of being left there
or going to be moved out or eventually were put to a point where it was no longer necessary to have to clear the area.
You do see on the sides of you there are these
iron carts, wheeled carts that have handles on them. Some have means of being pulled along
separately, and these carts were used. You can gather from moving a lot of materials back and forth.
I thought what the ramps in the previous room were also to collect. You can see there's a
residual dust kind of coating on a lot of these. These carts as well as broken pieces of white stone.
The broken pieces of white stone, are there any of them are the size of like two pans?
There's a few you can probably grab it.
Can I grab a big, like, two-handed piece and put it in the back only?
Sure.
Can I take some of it and rub it on some of my arrows?
Okay. Sure.
You can't rub it on.
Most of it falls off as a metallic arrow point to a dust, but some of it does manage to stay on for the time being.
Your holy oil is still active, those that you dip your arrows and stuff.
However, as you look past the darkness, you can see in the center of this room a monolithic
structure, not unlike a large pyramid-type platformed element.
And immediately upon looking at it, you can see this has to be the ziggurat that everyone's
been talking about once you've come to white stone.
You can see that the base of it is white, and it is very much the same texture in the same texture
and color is all the white stone you've seen used in the construction and all the mining
materials here within the city. But from what little light you have in the room, and there
is a little bit of ambient light from the torch is set to certain points, and just those who
can see pretty decently at a distance, and there is kind of an ominous glow to the structure
itself. It gradually turns into a greenish color. Hard to see exactly why this transition is,
but it transitions in white to a green towards the top, and then it levels off. You can see what
looks to be a small separate structure at the very, very top. There are long stairways
that are visible on each one of these four, or at least the two sides you can see before
you.
Everyone make perception check?
I'm going to all of my guys right now. Yeah, mine are failing me.
One fucking shit. Mine are great.
18. 14. 14. 10.
24. 16.
What the shit has happened.
Vex and Percy. As you begin to begin to.
step out on the wall and as you guys are moving towards the signal height, you can see
through the darkness there's a little bit of very little bit of low light along the
edge of the pyramid and you can see halfway up the staircase, four individuals stepping
up the stairs at a distance.
How is this like Egyptian pyramid size big or? It's more Aztec. It's not quite
gargantuan. There's 200 stairs. Approximately. I'd say the whole structure from
from bottom behind is maybe 200 feet tall. It's not extremely large.
What's the roof look like? Above it? It's hard to see at this distance, especially
with the very little light here. You can tell just enough there is some sort of a roof,
but you can't make any details out from this distance.
Do I have any geographical idea of where we are in the city? Is this located under the
Sun Tree? This would be pretty close to where the Sun Tree is located, yeah.
Before we go stomping in there, should we take a short rest and heal up? Is anyone besides me and
Are you damaged at all?
I'm damaged, but I don't know how long I want to wait when fax is.
We don't want to just start traipsing up.
They'll see us coming.
Is their cover? Can they see us if we can see that?
Where you're currently standing, there is very little to no light.
If you're careful, you could possibly slip by their detection.
Or we could wait till they get up there and then go.
Except what happens when they get up there.
Just a quick question.
Yes.
While I'm with my new friends, in any moment of that,
But in any moment, they're not telling me to go somewhere or walk somewhere.
Can I just look at the symbol on my hand?
Yeah.
That's it.
Stare at it whenever I can, when they're not paying attention.
You glance out it.
It doesn't seem to have any particular glow or connection,
especially since Pike made her arrival.
It seems to be the energy of connection that was briefly housed in that symbol by her
has now transitioned to her form here.
Will anybody gain something back from a short roast that we really need?
Or do we need to go here?
I'm kind of afraid they're marching him to his death,
to sacrifice them.
I would gain a few hit points, but it's nothing bad.
I can take a potion.
We'll be able to heal in battle.
I can do a healing spell, you know.
Thanks Sarah Palin.
You'd like to.
You know, you'd like to.
You know, sorry.
Where's anybody at?
Vasselheim accent is rubbing up on your pipe.
Who's looking hurt? Anybody need?
I'm all right.
No, not really. I'm all pretty close to...
I think save your spells, fight.
Yeah.
What's the plan?
Let's go.
I don't know. I mean, stealth as much as we can and then take them out.
I don't know.
We're at the bottom of this pyramid. They're walking up to the top.
By this time, they're close to the top.
Let's start making our way.
Pikes.
It's just stairs. Yeah, pretty steep stairs, but stairs nonetheless.
Pike.
We're going to have to Ghostbusters this.
How high up can I fly? Is it all dark up?
It is. There's very, very little bit of light that's as part of the actual Zikarachia.
I keep raising up.
Four sides to the pyramid?
Four sides. You only see two from your front.
I want to keep raising up so I can get a better view of what's happening up.
I just tell.
Pike, real quick. Pike, we are right under the sun tree, which was, you know, dedicated to the god of Pelor.
So I, this tree might end up being our best friend in this fight. Keep that in mind going forward.
Are Sarah and Peleur like good buddies? Yeah, are they on good terms? Well, let's hope so.
Would you know? You would know that that Sarah and Ray and Pellor are adjacent deities in this realm.
They have many overlapping interests and both subscribe to light, to healing, to many spheres of overlap in those regards.
So yes.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I think they are pretty good friends.
How far away are the four figures from us right now?
Oh, man. They're probably a good five, six hundred feet from you.
Should we flank and go?
Do you want to just hit them hard?
Or should we sort of get on each side?
How many feet?
50, 60 feet?
I mean, they're at the top of the Ziggurat now.
Actually, at this time, they're just now cresting over and vanishing over the lip of the year.
From the base of the pyramid, what would you say the base circumference of this zigeron is?
I mean, is it like a half a mile around?
No, it's smaller than that.
I'd say it's about...
Don't blow on any.
Should we try and scale...
Two hundred feet square?
Like one on each side?
Yeah, should we come up on different sides?
Come up on all the sides?
Percy?
What do you think?
Yeah, flank them.
Flank them.
They're going to be inside, but before we get halfway up.
There's no inside.
They're doing stuff on the top of the pyramid.
We don't know what's up there.
Can I see?
There's no inside?
You raised up and you look and...
It's for grain storage.
A little bit of...
A little bit of sorts of like you can see.
There is where the stairs stop.
There's a level platform.
There's some pillars and there appears to be a secondary structure,
a deep, green, almost like dark jade-type color structure.
that is built. Just a square structure right there at the very top.
Probably out of the same glass bullshit.
Blacks will hear me if I whisper down.
Oh, fuck, that's right.
See if he can stall.
Tell him to stall.
You can still respond if you wish.
You still have your mind about you.
You just consider the Briar Woods right now your closest allies
and they have to be protected.
Stop it.
You should all be together. You should join me here.
I don't know where you are.
I'm on the top of a thing.
I can see very far.
far. Everybody's very attractive up here. I think something nice is about to happen. I'm afraid
to ask questions, though. I don't want to see...
Who are you talking to, lovely boy? Please, Fox, please.
Oh, Sarenry. Make a wisdom check. No advantage? I don't know. No. I'm still a half elf.
I know. All right. This is...
Even with feast.
I'm supposed to not be able to get charmed?
Thirteen. No, I have advantage.
No.
I'm not at risk.
Feast.
This isn't a saving third now.
Advantage for half of, advantage for feasts.
So did you roll?
A total of 13.
13?
Okay. You continue with the deception.
You push through enough to guard the answer,
as opposed to just spilling the truth to your ally.
She kind of gives her,
That's not very welcome here.
I would not recommend that.
Put it away.
Put it away. That's not welcome here.
Yes.
Pretty prissy.
And taken, my darling.
die.
Then she walks back on her arm.
I'm starting to fling.
Yeah, we're starting to flink.
We're flanking on the floor side.
We're making guys.
Can I go up to Vax?
Oh, he's not.
He's not even around.
Vax isn't with you guys.
Baxter.
Oh, with us.
Sorry, Vryorwoods at the top of this zigarot.
Earing talk.
Okay, okay.
Sorry.
But he still got set up.
I know what's going on now.
I know what's going on now.
So we're having this discussion, you guys begin to ascend the steps as a group?
Or there are four sides.
Who wants to come with?
on my side. Me and Pike.
Okay.
I'll go with Grog.
Two of us and you can join me.
I'm flying up.
So I'm just walking, I'm walking up this enter.
The trinkets going.
With me.
Sure.
So you guys thought for a second,
what if Percy goes as distraction?
Percy goes first.
We all look like Percy.
Oh, Percy is bait.
But they might be able to see through that.
Percy as Bade while the rest of us go up.
That's looks like Percy right now.
They know where we ask Percy.
up to something. That's why I send in the real Percy.
Send in the real Percy?
So, how many groups are you breaking into?
Three. Three. Three groups. Okay.
Nomes in one. Percy and Trinket in one. Grog and who else?
Keyleth. And then you're just floating above.
I'm floating above, kind of keeping an eye.
Okay. Oh, no. This is so stupid. My heart is pounding.
All right. All right. So as you all kind of separate, the closest stairway to you,
will probably get there sooner. Who's taking that stairway?
The gnomes.
All right.
So the gnomes take.
And I'm sticking into the dark as much as I can, but I want to raise up and be like,
you know, to where I can be above them and shoot down.
Yep.
All right.
And you're going on like this side?
Sure.
Okay.
So we'll say you're on this side this way.
Now you're splitting up.
So as you guys.
Maybe we should split the party further.
Yeah.
One person.
Each.
This is so brilliant.
We had this.
Oh, yeah, y'all.
All right.
Oh, God.
As you begin to ascend the steps, a couple things.
One, you notice the structure is very old at its base.
The stone, the white stone itself, has cracked and worn, weathered, and most of it is indeed
made from the white stone and from the surrounding mountains of the Alabaster Cierras.
Mined ages and ages ago, and as you get further up, you begin to see sections of it that are newer
stone, areas that have been renovated and rebuilt and made to come.
complete this apparently once sundered structure. As you all begin to creep up past the midpoint,
you begin to notice the color change beyond it. The white stone begins to fade away as you begin
to see clusters at that same green residual glass is now set across smooth, almost like the limestone
of a pyramid, as put like a top layer to it. And as you begin to get further the top, eventually
the entirety of the stone and the stairs are coated in this material.
to the point where there's even a little bit of slickness at certain places from the smoothness.
It's like chipped obsidian, how it's flaked away, it has those kind of divvets in it.
There is that kind of smoothness, that glass-like texture to it.
As you begin to get towards the very top of the stairway, you should be kind of carefully
keeping in line, talking to each other quietly, you begin to see the central structure at the top of the platform
begin to appear.
simple, four-walled structure made purely of this dark jade glass material. There's a slight
overhang with a few platforms that seem to hold this kind of, the lack of a term, an awning-type
platform that hangs over the entrance to this. You guys are about to reach the lip. Is there
any preparation you want to do?
I would like to rage.
Does the building seem, is it completely encased?
The building is entirely encased in this material?
And they're already inside?
Well, you haven't gotten to the very top of the lip yet.
But can I see? Because I'm raised above, right?
You see, as they're having this conversation, they talk about with Vax,
speak with Cassandra, then...
Then they step forward and begin to open the two doors to the central chamber.
Can I ask a clarification question? The mojo they have on me. Do I think they're my best friends in the world or is it more Kilgrave and just I do whatever they say but have my own opinion trapped away?
You have your own opinion. You just you trust them implicitly. They have to be protected.
It's a little boat, it seems like. I'll, uh...
Like there is kind of, like any close friend who would ask something of you and say,
please come with me and there is, in essence, if you're compelled to...
So I trust them.
You trust them, yeah.
We have to...
Am I close to Percy at all?
Or do we already separated?
No, you guys have already separated.
You're in Scanlon.
We have to stop them before they close these doors.
If we close the doors, it's over.
Do we see them closing the doors?
They've just opened the doors in the beginning to...
Percy, Percy, go, get their attention.
Percy!
I'm heading at it.
Heading up?
I'm gonna stay hidden as my...
Oh, God.
And I'm gonna dip the rest of my arrows in holy oil.
Okay, as you're stepping up.
I inspire Pike real quick just before the battle.
Okay, how do you inspire her?
I just look at her and I say,
roses are red, violets are blue.
We're both gnomes, and you are so foxy.
That's it.
All right.
When I look up, can I see the ceiling now?
Looking up, you can see, the roof is carved earth.
There is no loose stone. It looks like this chamber has been carefully hollowed out over time.
Can I see any, like, a root system of like a really deep running tree?
Currently, no, you cannot.
Fuck. Okay.
Percy, what are you doing?
I'm walking up the steps, I'm putting the mask on.
on.
Okay.
As you put the mask on, you begin to ascend.
You can feel the nerves kind of tickle your belly, and you know what you're about to encounter.
And doing so, you feel that heat rise in the back of your neck.
And as you do, the smoke begins to billow out from under your collar from out of your sleeves.
I make my way to the top of the stairs.
Trinket coming slowly behind you.
They open the doors and they're beginning to step into the chamber.
Silas!
Stop. Both Lord and Lady Bribe will look up their shoulder.
A moment of your time.
They look at each other, close the chamber door.
Silas reaches out and grabs something on it or pushes something that's out of sight.
And then they both turn Megan to step forward a little bit with Vax and Cassandra flanking them,
stopping right outside of the doors.
Okay.
distracting them, get in position.
Yeah, I'm just gonna try and stealth behind these buildings.
So you guys are on sent to keep that side and that side of the pyramid right now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Can we kind of move, so there's like, it looks like there's a, there's pillars and shit?
Yeah, these are the pillars that are kind of evenly spread around the entire chamber.
Yeah, let's come in from the back, kind of what the gnomes are doing.
You guys would have to come around the corner and then this is the walkway here, so you'd be coming in from the
this side. Stay out of sight, but get as close as we can. Yeah, I float closer in the darkness.
Okay. Can I just over here? Yeah, up, up. Up. My platforms seem to have gone missing
for the preparation of this game, but we'll say for the time being, you are up here.
In the dark, yes. I'm, my hand, my hands are on a device which I have made that is on my hip, that I'm
ready to begin using at a moment's notice.
I have a French tickler.
It's the most ticklish French tickler you've ever seen, baby.
I mean, I'm just going to let me.
Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
Unless we have something planned. I'm going to go.
What's this? What's going on?
We have debts to settle.
Silas.
And apparently, you and your friends are obnoxious enough to not stay dead.
They were kind enough to make sure that I
made my way here to face you.
Huh.
Well, perhaps this evening won't be so boring after all with it.
And Silas looks over to Delilah,
and Delilah kind of gives him a look too.
Very well.
The darkness demands your souls, Silas.
I am going to cast Hex on Lady Briarwood
and pull my smoke bomb at the exact same second,
and drop it and throw it at them.
Okay.
So as you lease your hand and the smoke kind of builds up at your fingertips and then
shoots off and clings itself to her form.
She looks down with a bit of a grin, kind of half laughs to herself as the smoke bomb gets a lob.
She begins moving her hands like that and begin casting a spell.
I let go of my arrow and cast conjure barrage with a holy arrow at them.
The holy arrow at them.
All righty.
And I'm going to go ahead.
and if I can peek around the corner where the fuck I am, start lighten up sunbeam. They're
in a nice pretty line and I like it. It's hot.
Okay. It'll take you a moment to get over to that point because you guys are just now
coming around the corner.
Like rockettes.
So first things first. Percy, you lob the smoke bomb. This area here all of a sudden
fills with a billowing smoke. I was hoping I was shooting it right in the
in front of them is basically right.
Yeah, it kind of fills this area here.
It's a 20 by 20 foot, essentially a recreation of the fog spell for a short duration.
So it fills that vicinity there as the smoke.
You want to conjure barrage into the smoke?
Yeah, because I know they're all there and it just as shoots a cone of arrows at them.
Yep.
All right, go ahead and work for that.
It's holy arrows.
All of them will be holy arrows.
Because conjure barrage uses whatever kind of ammunition I have shot.
That it does.
So what's the saving throw on that?
Oh, that's a good question.
Conjure barrage is dexterity save.
No, we're going to, we're going to Great Evil
Music.
That was a slick.
There we go.
Super prize, motherfucker.
Fuck.
All right, so.
Ptf.
Make a.
I don't know why my sister is firing me,
but I would like to use uncanny dodge or evasion,
whichever is applicable in this moment,
so I don't get hurt.
There's a whole lot of errors flying at you,
just letting you know.
Well, it would be, I believe, uncanny dodge,
you just roll a saving throw and see if you make it,
you take no damage.
So dexterity, right?
Oh, that's pretty good.
That's a 28.
Okay, so the damage on that was.
Oh, 3D8, plus whatever the Holy would be?
The Holy is an additional 1d4 radiant damage.
Okay, but for each.
No, for anybody that would be a fift.
expected by it.
Okay.
Oh, that's it.
I just do that.
3D8, that's it.
Yep.
Nine?
Nine?
Not including the D4, right?
Not including the D4.
All right, so that's, uh,
damage to both Sousas,
you take no damage from exterior from any dodge.
If I call out, say, Vex, Sully, what are you doing?
Um, all right, uh, so,
go and roll a D4.
Two? Two, okay. Two additional points of damage to this side of this. All right. And as the smoke
kind of begins to... I'm gonna start running, I'm booking to the right. The right?
And I don't have any more actions, do I? No, that's gonna be your go. Everyone now, roll initiative.
Oh, the beginning of the Briarwood battle.
Oh my god! Barrel instinct.
I have the shittiest fucking initiative rolls.
That's stupid.
Getting it all out of my system now.
Me too, I call it dying.
That's how you get it all out of it.
Worst.
All right, so 25-20.
Nobody.
Nobody.
We all ate it.
22, 15.
17.
Oh, God.
15.
I have the highest initiative?
That's an issue.
16.
16.
16?
This is a problem.
All righty.
Fuck.
I don't like get the drop on them because we could sneak around.
Nope.
Say 15 to 10?
11.
13.
10.
All right, so we have this initiative by Valveralli.
11.
11.
And Pike, what did you get?
So sorry, you got 10.
All right, so.
VEG-H-H-H-H-Vos.
I'm going to be fine.
We're going to die.
We're going to be fine.
All right.
I don't even know which, all my dice, every dice.
I don't have any dice left to roll.
At this point in time,
Delilah steps this way outside of the smoke,
just kind of moving out of the way.
And you can see there's a
slight shimmer around her form at the moment.
Nice shimmer.
Yes.
She is going to begin by looking over to you who threw that bomb at her, put out her
hand and kind of say. Can she see me? She set out of the smoke.
Okay, because I've moved, like, barmen and ran.
There's smoke between them.
There's smoke between us. Oh, in this area? Oh, yeah. She would look around, kind of get
out of the way, look for you. See nothing but a bear that has climbed the top.
What? Turned into a bear. It's Willow. She is actually...
Is it a bear or is it Fat Percy?
It's fat Percy.
Technically it is.
She looks very confused for a second.
Percy?
Oh, oh.
Wait, question, question.
Am I still Percy?
You still look like Percy?
If she's fooled by a fat Percy,
she's surely fooled by a svelp Percy.
Does she think she has Percy?
What's going on?
This seeming spell has fucked everything up.
This seeming spell has fucked everything up.
No, I mean, they can still see, you, they can still see,
She can still see the illusion, but you get the sense that she can see through it, meaning
it's almost like the two layers are over top. Okay. So she can see Big Percy but realizes
it's not Big Percy. It's just absurd. It's like she can see a bear wearing a Percy costume
is kind of how it looks like. That's a bear wearing a Percy costume. She actually looks around
and sees the weird Percy, sees nobody else in the area she can't see you because of your stealth,
Even through the contra barrage, it was in the middle of the fog cloud.
It prevents her from actually keeping a sight on anybody, and you're out of the way, so the only thing she could
see right now is weird trick.
Plus, I wanted to use my bonus actually to hide again.
I see her confused look, and I call out, we're all Percy.
Get it?
All right.
Okay, good to know.
She, not really know what to do, just goes, Silas, take this spoon.
She puts her hand out and you can see a little bit of a tough form in there.
A spoon.
Spoon.
Spoon.
Spoon.
And she casts a spell on him.
He casts a spell on him.
And then she steps back into the kind of side of the fog there.
He inspired him.
There's nothing.
You don't know.
He helped him.
Scanlon, you're up.
Sex, expression.
All right, I hear talking.
You hear talking.
Come around the corner.
I come around the corner.
Okay, you're about here.
So you can move forward.
The second I see her.
her, Delilah. I will cast lightning bolt on her.
Okay. Lightning bolt, she's a mute. I don't know anything.
All right, so you see her jump back into the cloud and you just unleash.
Actually, are they in a line? Is there a way I can get in a line?
Not with this pillar there, no. This pillar is kind of walking away. Only right now you
can just see her, and all you only see her at this point, she just goes into this fog cloud
so you can throw it in the direction she's if you want to.
I wouldn't know anything about her, so yep, I blast.
released the bolt of lightning.
All right, go ahead and roll 86 damage.
Were you there for that fight?
I don't know, was I?
Yeah, you were there for that fight.
Would I know anything?
I would say, you should have.
It was a long time.
You recall that lightning seems to not have the impact.
It usually does.
Would I know that enough not to cast it?
I would say, through all the thoughts
in preparation for this fight, if you would like to rescind that,
you would be ready to lightning,
and be like, wait, no, that didn't work as well.
All right, then I will.
Set some mulligan.
I will undo and I will instead, I will try to blind her.
Okay.
It's a great idea.
Yes, it is.
Spectacularly great idea.
Oh, that should have a lot.
Yeah, the silencer would be good too.
Through my hand cone of clarity.
All right.
So what's the saving throw on that one?
I would be 19.
and it's a, well, what is the saving throw?
Is it wisdom?
Oh, I'm sorry.
Blindness.
Oh, Jesus.
I never use it, so I don't know.
Blindness is Constitution saving throat.
Constitution for Delilah.
Ah, yeah, she makes it.
She makes it?
She will 18 plus 3, 21.
Bitch.
So I just sort of wave at her.
She finishes into the smoke cloud that
cloud that proceed left. Is that my movement?
I'm done moving?
You can move a little closer if you want to.
Can I move? Can I get the pillar between us?
You can get there. That's as close as you.
And can I see anyone else?
No. Okay. Then that's my... That's my... That's it.
Okay. That ends your turn.
Vax. You're up.
What do I do in this situation? I trust them, but I also trust them?
You trust them both and right now. You're basically if
they've made an aggressive action against the Briarwoods,
the next one you see you see.
you're probably going to go ahead and try and make me aggressive action.
I'm going to do whatever you tell me.
The magic, where I had to see her,
the most important person to me in the world,
act on Lady Briar, whatever.
What's up, that's Lady Briar would kill her?
You would try and attack her to try and convince her
to stop the assault.
Okay, and I've seen Trinket and I've seen Scamon.
I've seen Percy.
I've seen Percy.
Scallon you haven't seen yet.
You're stolen to this cloud.
All you've seen is Percy.
You didn't even see her really striking.
really striking at you much, then just seen the arrows fly in there so you know it's true.
Then I'm going to step right in front of Lady Briarwood and shield her with my body.
All right. From Percy.
Okay.
First of all, you've got to stop. This is madness. This is that spirit of yours.
Knock it off. Can they see me?
You're just now coming around the side here. So it's hard to tell you you see a big cloud of smoke.
I'm going to hold my turn.
Okay, you're not going to get any closer?
I mean, I'd like to put my back on the bottom.
Okay, so you use double movement to...
All over.
To move right there behind the pillar where you're back to it.
Okay.
That gets us to silence.
Oh no. Oh, boy.
Leaping out of the smoke, with an unnatural speed.
Silas jumping in the air, pulling from the scabbard in his back,
a long onyx two-handed sword you've seen once before.
Leaps and lands right before you, Percy.
He can see me?
He can find me in the smoke?
He leapt out of the smoke.
Okay.
And has a really, really high passive perception.
Leaps and lands right before you with his grin on his face.
The blade out in front of him and says,
Boy, you poke where you shouldn't.
And goes in for three attacks on you with his blade.
Oh, come on, for you're a natural two.
12, or no, that would be 14. That is a 34. 34 hits.
Jesus. The other two do not.
Oh, sorry, 24, not 30. 24 still hits. And then that would be
31. Oh my goodness. So two hits. Two hits. So slow him down.
You take 13 points of slashing damage from the first strike, and then you take 10 points
of slashing damage from the second strike.
So it's 26 points?
Yes, I need you to make two constitution saving throws.
Okay, it's 23 points of damage.
And make two constitution saving throws.
Shit.
Updating my sad little hit points.
Two constitution saving throws.
Correct.
I don't have, yeah.
Anything.
11.
Okay, and the second one?
A critical fail.
Okay.
You feel as each struck the blade cuts into your flesh, a portion of your body's strength
is sapped from it. Your strength goes down by two?
Strength is negative one.
No, I mean like your score, not the modifier or your score.
Oh, so my strength goes down by, my strength is a zero, then.
What is your strength normal?
12, so it's now 10.
It's now 10, which means, okay, which means my modifier is down by one.
And you see the energy filled him now.
Okay.
I take the turn now.
So you use your movement and you held your action. You can now take your action.
Break his head like a melon. I can't get to him now.
I have a good.
You have a throwable. Chain, motherfucker.
All right, I'll use the chain of returning with the holy oil on the war hammer.
Okay. Go for the goch. So behind the, the puller, you see him rush up and slash into Percy.
You reach around and release the axe, spinning towards over the chain behind it. Go ahead.
Or the axe, the hammer.
Six.
Uh, 27.
That hits.
Get them.
It's the first prior wood damage. Does he have nut-plake advantage? Fifteen. Fifteen damage
with the fire. It's a whole of the oil. It does an extra one.
There's one D4. 16. Okay. So 16 more damage on the strike. It slams in her from the side.
He looks over, you can see where it hit. There's a burst of radiant energy that's kind
of burning into his side. He glances down and chew with a frustrated look. Go ahead and make your
save to try and pull your hammer back. Okay. So that finishes that turn. Pike, you're up.
Okay, I'm gonna use Healing Word for Percy.
You have to get within range of them though.
You're on the opposite side of the battlefield, so at full movement, you'd be there.
The range on Healing Word, you wouldn't be able to get to him right now in time.
A 10 foot range. Am I close? Am I close?
She can't see anything, so she's 80 feet away.
You're almost, you're 15 feet. He's 15 feet outside of your range.
15 feet outside of your range.
Let's use your sprinter's boots.
I'll use my sprinter's boots.
Okay.
Oh, God.
You go.
Just know, Ashley, that sprinting in like this
will take you right in front of the Briarwoods.
Yeah, maybe.
Well, yeah, because I can't see the board.
Yeah, yeah, that's not a good thing.
Maybe it's better to...
Can you help Vax?
You're really close to Vax.
A restoration spell on Vax.
Can she see this?
You are close to Vax.
You are close to Vax.
You are near Vax, yeah.
You're right by.
Can I...
Can I...
Can I...
Can you stop off behind him and cast a greater restoration on him?
You can.
I mean, like, the fog obscures them.
They have three-quarters cover.
You can still see their shapes in the cloud.
It's not completely obscured.
And there's a pillar between you and me in middle of like a 30-foot stretch or 25-foot stretch.
So you could like hide behind it after you cast it.
Well, restoration...
Can you try that?
You can.
So you rush up around the pillar, clicking your Sprinter's boots to get the distance.
You rush up into the cloud right into the face of Vax.
So you look down at Pike now aggressively coming towards you, protecting Lady Briarwood.
You pull your daggers out instinctfully and look down with her with the look of what are you doing?
You reach forward, reach out your hands against him.
Let me check Greater Restoration real fast.
Let's see here, Raider Restoration.
Come on, come on.
Fifth level.
It gets it touched.
She's going to touch him.
The fact that it's charmed or petrified.
As you reach out and touch him, you feel the impact of the Briarwood's influence, fade from your mind.
Oh, my God.
As the charm is dispelled in the way.
Yes.
And looking down, you look at your daggers and look where you are and look at the moments
of the last few minutes and you're like, dear God.
Then can I look up and stay in a defensive stance and back towards Lady Briarwood?
Faining.
Yeah, good idea.
You know what?
Go ahead and make exception check.
Five.
Four, two.
12.
Okay.
So you back up and back up in
to a defensive position towards the deep prior.
Okay, that's just from an immediate reaction.
Pike, did you want to stay where you are?
Did you want to use the rest of movement
to move back behind the pillar?
Cover.
Get out of there, get out of there.
I'll move back behind the pillar.
Okay.
All right.
Any bonus moves there, Pikey?
No, I'm gonna wait, I'm gonna wait.
Okay.
Vex, you're up.
Me?
Yeah.
I'm gonna shoot, I'm gonna shoot my storm,
Merrill.
You're so.
I'm gonna shoot from my long bow of the same.
This guy sent a!
Hey!
Yay!
Hey!
At Lord Briarwood, at Tyler's.
Okay, go for it.
Okay.
Well, Percy, that one didn't work.
That was a natural one for the first.
That's three arrows, though.
So the second one is good.
That's a 25.
All right, that is.
And the last one is a 39.
Okay, those two hit.
Okay.
So that is.
is an extra 1d6 of lightning damage to hit.
All right, go for it.
For every attack.
15 for the first one, and then 15 for the second one.
Okay.
And that was, oh no, yeah, that's it.
And that's the first attack.
Then the second attack is another shot.
Correct.
With a holy arrow.
Add him again.
Yep.
Okay, sure.
25.
That hits.
Okay.
Kiel, what was your initiative again?
Three years.
Yeah.
15 for the last hit, too.
That's with the holy damage.
All right, so as you're floating above, you pull back your arrow and inciting the magical enchantment of the bow, you release it.
As it does, it crackles of the energy and splits into three separate arrows that arc around each other, almost like a helix of the DNA.
As they all streak downward, they slam into Silas from the other side, him now being assaulted on all fronts, frustrated.
looks back at...
I use my bonus action to hide again.
Okay, well you're still in now plain sight.
You're... I mean, unless you're pulling way, way back.
You want to pull back towards the shadow.
I want to hide.
Okay, so you pull further, further away from it.
Go ahead and make a self-check.
Flying Vex is pretty dope.
Yeah.
Ficking Wonder Woman.
Natural 20.
Ah!
Yeah!
Vanish into the shadow of the sky.
You just dart out of the darkness and then disappear back into it.
So, come on.
Come on.
All right. That ends your turn per Sierra.
I just got blasted. I'm gonna, I'm gonna,
what's that thing I can do?
I'm going to... You can fire guns.
You use a bonus action to do my little healing surge that I can do.
Okay.
The fighter ability thing.
Which is 1D10 plus 12. So that's 18 points of damage back.
Back.
Nice.
Catch that pike.
He healed himself.
I brought myself up a little bit, just a little bit.
And I'm going to shove the diplomacy glove right in Silas' face and just try and just try
and do a straight shove to get him off of me.
Okay.
I have never used this before.
I don't actually know how it works.
Iron Man.
Handshake.
Right.
And you previously charged this.
I charged this when I got hit by the lightning attack in the crypt.
Yep.
Oh, that's right.
Yeah.
So go ahead and make a melee attack.
So this would be just a, I'd say.
Dext jack or?
I'd still make a deck space because it's more of just a quick grab on your end.
So make a D12 plus your permission C plus your deck.
So plus 10.
So plus 10.
Plus 10 to a D20.
Yes, you got it.
Thank you.
That's much better.
22.
22.
will hit so as you reach out and grab him in the front. The energy pulses in front. As it releases, go ahead and roll 4D6 points of damage.
Four sixes, come on. Did not make a savings draw on that. A four.
Oh my God. We rolled three sixes and a five.
Wow, Gabba, Gabba.
Yes, 23.
Oh, it tells us.
23 points of damage.
So with this shock, charges through his dark armor.
You see the dark veins pulse through his neck as the energy surges through his body.
He slaps the hand away at this point and kind of, you can see the smoke kind of
off the armor.
Hi.
I'm going to...
What you gonna do?
I'm going to...
Jesus Christ.
Okay, let's see how this is...
I can't really use my gun because I'm too close.
I'm going to pull out...
Pull out my sword and just take two more slashes, and I'm going to just kind of run like a mother.
Okay.
So first slash is a 28.
It's.
And that's lame.
It's 14 points of damage.
Okay.
Second slash is 23.
23.
23?
23.
And that's 11 points of damage.
Now I'm just gonna book it towards Grog.
Okay.
Grog!
Swing towards the sword.
Oh, Grog!
Save me!
Swing at you with the sword as a have opportunity as it does so.
That is 21 to hit.
That hits.
All right.
You take 17 points of slashing damage.
Worth it.
You rush towards Grog on that side.
Roll another Constitution saving throw.
Oh, no.
Strength thing.
I know.
The thing you don't use strength.
I know.
Well, it can still kill you.
Yeah.
15, 16.
Oh, 15, 16.
22.
You resist the effects of the blade now.
Not having your face in the other.
That ends your turn.
At the end of your turn, Silas is going to go ahead and spend one of his legendary actions
to get a free movement and without provoking attacks of opportunity
and shift up with an amazing speed to the other side.
to the other side of both.
As soon as you rush over to get over to Grog,
he appears up in front of you,
grinning with his blade at the ready,
right next to you in Grog.
That ends your turn.
It's now Cassandra's turn.
Oh, God, dear.
What are you going to do?
Make the right decision, girl.
Roll a perception check, Percy.
Oh.
All right, roll perception check, Grog.
Come on, Grog.
11.
Okay.
Oh, no.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Cassandra peers from behind the pillar, blade out, short sword
at the ready, and attempts to jam it into the back of the grog.
Oh, sneak attack, damn it.
That is 21 to hit, actually.
Oh my gosh, she's totally doing sneak-a-degra-dage.
You take...
You can hear all the dice he's picking up.
Fuck.
Oh, god damn it.
27 points of piercing damage.
Haft, because I'm raging.
Slashing actually, because it's a sort, but yeah, halved.
So 13 points of slashing damage from the sneak attack.
That could have been worse.
It could have been worse.
Used to back's damage.
That'll end Cassandra's turn.
Next to us Kee-liff.
Oh, finally. Okay, running up the stairs, running up the stairs.
Well, you've been waiting around the side here for everyone here, so you're just now pressing around that corner.
Beautiful.
Can I just kind of just kind of...
just kind of move to where I'm in a nice pretty line with Briarwood and Cassandra, kind of over here.
Right there.
And sunbeam!
Hey!
Yes.
Deo-Catius!
Right in a line.
Do it.
This is it.
This is everything right here.
Come on, Kiki.
You're our cannon.
Come on.
I've been waiting to not do anything.
Beam.
Yeah, it's a 16-foot line.
It'll hit both him and Cassandra.
and Grog.
I need all the D8s.
And Grog.
Yeah.
Who cares?
All right.
So, Constitution and saving throw, Grog.
Constitution.
Cassandra makes it with a...
21.
16.
What's your DC?
17.
So full damage on Grog, half damage on Cassandra.
No damage.
He's going to use your reaction, he's on Kenny Dodge.
So Cassandra takes no damage from it.
Silas is going to use one of his legendary resistance to automatically succeed the saving throw,
so he takes half damage.
Oh, they have disadvantage on the saving throw.
But he can automatically make it.
Let's never mind.
Okay.
15 plus 8, so that's 23.
23 damage?
Yes.
Okay, halved.
It takes 12 points of radiant damage.
Okay, radiant damage.
That is good.
So as you see the...
As you rush around the corner, he sees you appear again and kind of gives you a look.
As the beam of light appears, his eyes roll back in fear, and the blasts just streaks out,
blasting into grog, blasting into him, and...
And on Jeddah news is disadvantage on saving throws.
Correct.
But he has the ability to automatically make the saving throw as a legendary creature.
However, as the beam fades, you can see part of his faces like burned ash,
and you can see now where the lip is gone, the teeth are exposed, and the sharp things.
He's like, f...
I was to say, and just, I don't know if this makes any amount of difference, but...
for the duration of the spell, I have a 30-foot radius sunlight glowing in my hand.
Correct.
That's awesome.
So it's bright in here now.
Oh, that's nice.
I like it.
I know I can see.
No, shit.
As long as he's in that circle, I can hit better at him.
All right.
Yeah.
Just keep on him.
Yeah, it's a 30-foot radius.
Okay.
Um, so that ends.
Let's turn back at the top.
Delilah.
Lila is now going to step out of the cloud, but she's now dissipating at this point.
The light is sunlight.
You're taking a step away from me?
Yes.
I'm taking my blade with the poison on it, and I'm going to slash at her.
Okay.
She goes your reaction to make your figure out.
That is two plus, okay.
Light is sunlight.
He knows it light.
That is an 18.
18 wood hitter.
Oh, God.
Oh, God.
Okay, that had whatever that poison is that I sold my soul to a hag for.
Yes, it did. So go ahead and roll damage on that.
Okay, so the regular damage is...
Don't say you sold your soul to a high.
Let's deal with one problem at a time.
That's a 10 for just the damage.
Okay.
I don't know if the poison, that's...
Roll an additional, is it, 6D6.
Six D6?
Like sneak attack, that's a sneak attack.
Oh, that's just a sneak attack.
No, this is poison.
This is a poison.
I'm not in a position to sneak attack.
But this is the same as this is.
Three, eight, twelve, thirteen, nineteen, twenty-four.
Nice, nice.
All right, so as you strike up, the blade scrapes across the front of her,
shit, I forgot that, keep that mind for next time.
So the blade...
No, whatever he just did.
The blade streaks across her bite as she runs past and you feel, as she takes few steps away,
and she coughs and she coughs and she coughs and she coughs and she...
and blood kind of spatters across the ground.
She looks back over her shoulder at you.
Just stare with a half-cock smile.
Which she immediately looks back at you and says,
you boy, stay still.
And puts her hand out towards you.
I need you to.
Advantage, because I'm a half out.
I don't need anything because I'm a half out.
Is she blinding?
Did you blinding?
She's not.
Didn't work.
Oh, well, I'll wait.
Or is she charming me or she's trying to
Charme or hold me?
Nope.
Nope.
Just trying to disintegrate me in the dust?
She looks over to you and she says mutters under her breath.
It's a phrase you never heard before, but as soon as it happens.
As soon as she does that, do I see this?
You're just around the side of this.
I do not see it.
You kind of like glancing around the side for three-quarters cover.
Roll perception check.
Come on, come on, come on.
It's a dead roll, dead roll.
It's between two.
It's between two.
It's between two.
That's terrible. It's four.
Yeah, you do not see this happen.
Oh, okay.
All right, so your mind suddenly goes blink.
As the power word that's spoken suddenly stuns you in place,
unable to react.
Is that a wisdom thing or it's just a carpland?
If you have less than 150 hit points,
you are stunned for the next minute.
You're gonna make a saving throw every turn to resist it.
Okay.
So she's strong.
So you just stop there.
Your daggers kind of, ting-t-ding,
drop to the ground as the smoke
begins to dissipate around you.
Do the daggers then shunt back up to my elbow?
Just the cycle.
Like the glitch in the middle.
No, it's more of a willful return.
Once you regain your composure, you can will them back to you.
But currently, you're just kind of like drooling out of your mouth
in space right there.
She moves off to this side and kind of gets behind Cassandra for protection.
I'm going to end her turn.
You did waste her action to that turn to do that.
Scanlan, you're up.
Yeah, man, she's powerful.
I will step out again, come behind, and I will try again.
But this time I will say, hey, you paralyzed my friend.
Let's see if you like it, and I'll try to hold her.
To hold her. Hold person.
The hold person, okay.
DC of 19, you said, but the...
Yes.
All right.
She's going to make a...
There's some saving throw.
She rolls.
She rolls a 21.
Fuck you.
God.
The National 19 with a plus two.
Aye, aye, yeah.
I know.
But as the spell kind of shoots out from your hands,
it kind of bounces off of her,
seemingly to no effect.
She is inherently a very powerful caster,
and her defenses show that.
Do you want to keep using your movement to move closer,
or you want to stay where you are?
That's Vaxxed near me right there.
Vaxes right there, yeah.
You just kind of like...
And hide behind me.
I'm going to...
Shit, hide behind you?
Sure, I'm figuring you.
I will...
I'll use my bonus action to inspire Percy.
Okay.
And I'll just say,
Percy's got a gun.
Oh, really?
Percy's got a gun.
Okay.
And then, yeah, sure. I'll try to duck behind Vax.
All world's come undone.
Okay, I'll get you about there.
Okay.
That'll end your turn. Vax you're up.
You spend your turn staring off into space.
At the end of your turn, make a Constitution saving throw.
Okay. Right now?
Yes. Right here.
14. 14.
Yeah. Unfortunately, you're just still kind of caught there staring off into the darkness,
looking out over the rest of this cavern before you.
It's a constant.
Constitution?
No, it's Constitution, yeah.
Okay.
All right.
Grog, you're up.
Fuck.
It's a constitution.
I'd like to go into a frenzied rage.
Yeah!
And I would like to see and swing away on Lord Briarled's people.
Yeah!
Actually, real fast, before that happens.
At the end of Vax's turn, Silas is going to use his action to, or one of his secondary, legendary action.
to move without his moving again back over to this side of the pillar.
He just darts around.
Well, he left. Cassandra's there.
You can still move in your turn it if you want to, but if you want to
Dr. Cassandra, you can't.
She would get an attack opportunity, wouldn't she?
I'm going to turn her into applesauce.
Sorry.
Not really, sorry.
Yeah.
Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, 21.
That hits.
Uh, two, same thing, 21.
That hits.
And, uh, 14.
14 misses.
24.
24 damage from the first one.
Okay.
Uh, 22 for the second one.
Okay.
She doesn't take any holy damage off from the oil on the thing, right?
No, no.
No, but as the hammer slams into her armor, she,
it's slammed against the pillar from the impact of it.
She tries to ride herself and push off against the wall.
You use the momentum to spin around and hit her on the other side, slamming her against the wall on the side of the structure.
And you hear that her breath escape, and she goes,
and she's having to reach her breath, and she looks at you with this look of like,
that really hurt.
Now, I've been known to take a lady's breath away.
Wow.
X-Pee.
Do you want to move, and stay where you are?
I'll stay right.
That ends your turn.
It is now Silas' turn.
Silas looking over this way. Let's see. He does not regenerating hit points because the multitude
of holy and radiant damage he took last turn. His regeneration is stunted at the moment. He is
going to keep away from Kewa. He is going to instead
He's going to put him down.
He's in a rough place.
Okay.
He's going to one, three, four, five, six.
Uh,
Too much thinking over there.
Nope.
Actually, he is going to, oh, yeah, he's going to, you know what, he's going to take it.
He's going to go ahead and boldly step into the sunlight, which puts him in a disadvantage with his attacks.
But he is going to unload on you, Percy, who he marked previously.
He's getting great, so you marked me?
No, you marked his wife.
So that is a 20.
Yeah, it is.
Second strike is two natural 20s in a row.
With disadvantage, she still crit.
What?
Yeah, so with the disadvantage, you still crit.
Fogun-a-fucking bastard.
The last one is a 23.
The last one is a 23.
My disadvantage I still crit?
I rolled two natural 20s in a row.
Oh, you're...
Oh, yeah, right.
Mm-hmm.
I'm so excited about this new character.
Okay.
14 points of slashing damage from the first strike.
Oh, Jesus.
Okay, 14.
The crit is 27 points of slashing damage.
Oh, boy.
And the last one is 13 points of slashing damage.
Roll three constitution saves.
Constitution saves.
I'll tally up the damage in a minute.
First Constitution is...
Actually, ignore the last attack,
because technically Lady Briar would have lost her concentration
on the Haste spell she had on him from the damage she took earlier.
So ignore the last attack?
Ignore the last attack.
So that would have been my first save is 13.
13? All right.
That does succeed, yeah.
Yeah.
And that's 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, yeah.
She resist the effect of the two strikes.
All right, so I'm gonna figure out how much damage I just took, seven.
She's, she's a, no, it's 27, j seven.
Oh, 41, you're right.
So I'm at what?
I'm alive. I'm alive.
Oh, God.
Okay.
He's alive.
He's alive.
He's alive.
That ends his turn.
Pike, you're up.
Pike.
Bye.
Where are you at, Percy?
I'm at the other side of the world, but you could probably get close enough to do something if you ran and not get it.
He's hurting, but he's not dead.
But he is hurting.
But he's pretty close to dying.
Okay, let me, I'm going to Sprinter's boot over to him.
I can take two more.
How many times can you use Sprinter's boots?
Say again.
Sprinter's boots, how many times can you use it? Does it say on the item?
How long is it last? Is it just for one?
I can use it twice, so I haven't used it yet so long.
Okay. So yeah, so you can go.
You can get, you're now within 35 feet of him.
Okay. You could healing word if you want.
Is that within range?
Yes.
Yes.
All right, so while healing word.
What about, oh, I'm sorry, I can't think.
Nope.
We can't inform her of the map though,
since she doesn't have a very, yeah.
Okay, so let's do that, because I can't cure wounds
because I'm not close to him, right?
Exactly, you have to be right next to them.
Okay.
Okay, so let's do that.
Oh my word, I'm shaking so bad.
Okay, here we go.
So go ahead and roll for the heel on that.
Just rolling, just rolling.
Roll the way in Vasselheim.
You're so far away.
26.
26. All right. What level was that?
Five. I'm sorry, sorry. Yeah, I did five, five, five.
Five.
All righty.
Damn.
Wow.
That's a bonus action.
You can still do up to a second level spell as your action if you'd like.
Do it.
Shit.
Okay, I'm not close to him.
Can you unleash some holy fire on any fucks?
Or like a radiant blast or something?
I'm gonna take, can I take my mace of disruption and slam it on the ground?
If you want to.
Wait, how close to?
Wait, how close am I to Silas?
You're 15 feet from Silas and 15 feet from Lady Briarwood?
30 feet from Silas and 15 feet from Lady Briarwood.
Okay, you know what? Let's just do a guide.
Sacred flame?
Okay.
She's like 20, 20 feet from Silas.
Yeah.
5.10, 15, 20, 20, 20. 30.
Sorry, you're right.
You're right.
No, no.
It's all right.
You know, the astral plane is tricky.
It's hard to navigate.
It's hard to navigate.
It's very tricky.
Okay, he does not make his dexterity saving throw.
Yes.
Yay, yeah, eight.
Radiant damage.
Nice.
Okay.
And then can I use Scanlan's extra?
That's only on the attack.
They tag, not for damage, so just roll 1D8.
Eight.
Woo!
All right.
All righty.
That ends your team.
Bless you.
Thanks.
You're up.
Trinket right here on the steps still and arising up in the sky.
Yes, I am going to cast
Uh, nobody's in a clump anymore.
They keep moving around.
That freaking wizard woman, man.
I know, I'm going to attack Lady Briarwood.
She's dangerous.
With, um, just two attacks.
That's good.
Yeah, we just...
Chip her down.
And keep drinking here by the steps?
Trinket's going to run, yeah, Trinket's going to run next to Vax.

Yeah, you're within range, you're fine.
Okay.
And then I'm gonna shoot her a couple times.
All right, go for it.
Okay.
That's huge.
23 for the first.
Okay, because I've got to do this in the last attack,
we're gonna shade now.
Her image is kind of shifting based on her location,
so you have a disadvantage on the attack roll.
Come on.
Yeah.
Oh, natural 20.
But the first one was good.
So 23.
Yeah, the first one was a 20.
23 hits. Natural 20 against. Shut up.
Yeah.
Okay. You're not a disadvantage. After you hit her, the effect vanishes.
Yes!
That is a natural 20 against her. Go ahead and roll damage.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Oh, that's...
17 for the first one.
And here it comes, girl.
And then what do I do? Just double the second?
Roll damage, double the dice. Roll damage.
Double the dice.
Nothing.
It just he has to save for him.
19 for the second.
Okay, cool.
So the arrows both strike into her chest.
The kind of shimmering to her form vanishes for a second.
You can see your cloak kind of falls limp momentarily.
It kind of looks off into the shadow and sees you kind of floating above.
I'm trying to hide.
I make a, because right now you're just pulling in and out of the shadow.
Yeah.
So you kind of shoot and you're going to have to try and back up even further, probably out of your attack range to disappear again.
Can I shift into a different, can I just, instead of backing up, can I,
go sideways and try to get like...
You can try to get over this way,
but you're on enough movement to get there.
You can get it out there, you'd still be out in the open this turn.
Okay.
It's really just out in the sky right now.
And you know, initially when there was the overhang and they were covered in the smoke,
it's easier for you to hide in the shadow,
but now you made yourself known, you have nothing hiding behind you and her.
Can I go below where the steps are to hide?
Like behind the wall?
You would be able to get right about level this turn,
and next turn you could go beneath, so you would not be able to hide
in this turn.
Okay, then I want to stay high, and I want to use my bonus action to cast hunter's mark on her.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah?
Yes.
Oh, man, I should have done that at the beginning, but I thought I was going to hide again.
But here we go.
What a waste.
All righty.
So that ends your turn.
Percy, you're up.
Percy.
I'm still stuck.
Actually, at the end of your turn, Salas is going to use another one of legendary actions to make another attack on Percy.
God, fucking, damn it.
How many of those fuckers does he have?
Oh, he gets three every turn.
He gets three every turn?
Every round.
Every round.
Every round, I mean, Sam.
Oh.
That will be, he has disadvantage.
What?
So he doesn't crit.
But it is still a 30.
30?
30?
30?
He rolled 19 and a 20.
My rules for him pretty good these past few rounds.
So that's another 13 points of slashing damage against him.
Make a Constitution Savings, Drew.
And make the Constitution Savings, bro.
How are you?
I'm, I don't know.
Pike helped.
Yeah, Pike helps.
13 points of damage?
Yep, and then roll another one.
Constitution Savings, bro.
That's 18.
Okay, can you do fine.
Okay, can you with your turn?
Still, he keeps getting in my shit.
There's just no getting the fuck away from him, is there?
Limit break?
Assholes in your shit.
That's fine.
Well, he's in my 30, the 30,
foot radius of right right now. So do my attacks have an advantage against it?
No, he just has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.
Okay, I'm... There's just no backing away from him right now. I'm gonna have to
wait for him to try and break off from me through Grog. So...
He wants you...
Yeah, I get it. So everyone wants my bod. I'm going to just take three slashes with the sword again,
since I'm too close to use the guns.
Okay.
25.
25, it hits?
14. 14 misses.
You got any inspiration?
I know, but I don't want to waste it on this.
13.
Only one strike hits.
So twice you pierce needs too fast and one strikes off his armor harmlessly.
One strike does manage to get just over the collarbone of his armor and pierce into his chest.
It's like from the pain. Go ahead and a little damage?
He's got more where that came from. He's a very inspiring person.
I want you to inspire other people.
12.
12 damage, all right.
All right.
That ends your go.
Save it for another.
Save it for a shot.
Cassandra is going to step.
She's still, she's going to move.
Grog.
Alongside, still saying, next to Grog.
And kind of moves up with her blade out towards you.
God damn it.
Looks over at Silas and houses like kind of nudging.
with his eyes and she kind of looks at you and drops her blade for a second and just kind
of stands there for a second looking at this scenario and her turn is just spent there.
Here. She's resisting. She's trying. She's trying to fight it. Oh no, we can't.
Hit her harder. Me? Yep. Okay. How close am I to Silas? You are currently 25 feet from him. You could move to get up.
Ooh, yeah.
Okay, here's what I'm going to do.
I'm going to kind of seeing that Silas is distracted,
I'm going to run up, and I'm going to put my hands behind on his back,
and I'm going to cast Sunbeam through him and try and hit Lady Briarwood as well.
There is a pillar between the two of them, so it won't go through the pillar, unfortunately.
And I just hug him, and I'm like, let the sun,
Let the sun shine in.
No!
Let the sun shining.
The sun shining.
You're going to kill him with hugs.
Really? You're going to kill him.
I'm on his back trying to...
The most keeleth thing I've ever heard.
I'm trying to do like a concentrated sunbeam.
I don't know if it's going to help.
Go ahead and roll damage.
Balls, fuck, shit.
Wow.
He is going to use a second legendary action to automatically succeed the saving throw.
It's fine.
25.
25.
This time as you blast into his back, you see the light kind of burns through parts of his shoulder and chunks of his flesh are actually blown through his armor.
His armor kind of streaks open for a second. It's like, ugh!
Smoke is now sizzling up around him and he kind of looks over his shoulder with this angry red gait in his eyes.
And I just kind of take my nails and just kind of dig him in a little bit.
Cool.
Oh, God.
At the end of your turn, he uses another legendary action to then try and shove you off and arc upward with a sword across the front of your chest.
Ouch.
Even with disadvantage, that's still 19.
Hits.
All right.
You take 16 points of slashing damage and make a Constitution saving throw.
Oh, oh, wait, wait, wait.
Sorry, sorry.
Okay, it has to be over 12, right?
Just a saving throw.
17.
17, okay, you resist the effect of the sword.
That ends your turn.
I don't know what I'm thinking of.
Back at the top, Salas right now is like, he's looking pretty rough.
Leigh Delilah runs up around the side.
My love, we're not ready, but the timetable has been pushed.
We have no choice.
And she wraps her arms around them and they both...
No!
No!
...counter spell.
Okay.
As a reaction.
What's the range on counter spell?
Not again, not again!
60 feet. Am I close enough?
60 feet.
Oh, come on, come on.
She is in range.
No!
Oh!
All right.
I say, shit.
Yeah.
You say shit.
Do I know what she's casting?
Am I familiar with it?
You're familiar with the actions about it, so you have an idea, yes.
Do I know what level with it?
She did before, man.
Just do the Dmitador Shire, right?
She's bamping out.
She said what I do.
So I'll say,
Hoh!
That's the sound of the gnome.
Fucking with your spells.
I'll cast it at level four.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
At level four.
Yes, take this motherfucker down.
Oh no, she's gonna do it.
All right, I need you to roll.
Fuck, so it's higher than that.
She's casting it at fifth level.
Fuck, fuck.
What do I roll?
For this, oh no, oh no.
You don't have a guy.
And add your charisma bonus to it, so plus five.
I'm a charismatic guy.
You are.
Yes.
Natural 20.
23.
And with that, she grasps him, the dwarf begins to open and then flickers.
Stay, stay, stay.
She whips around.
Okay.
Oh.
Yeah, that's gonna end her turn.
Empire is dead.
All right.
With this, that ends her turn, Scanlan.
You're up?
Oh, yeah.
I hold my turn.
Okay.
And instead, I'm sorry, I hold my action and my movement.
Instead, I will inspire Grog.
Okay.
With just a little harmonica dirty.
His favorite song.
His favorite song.
Gondi.
All righty.
I would like to.
Oh, is it his turn now?
Next?
No, it is not.
I'm sorry.
I didn't see you hold the rest of your turn?
I hold.
All right.
Fax.
Still left there, staring into space.
Constitution save at this point or?
This would be a constitution saving for again, yeah.
If only Scandinavia inspired you.
If only.
Fuck.
No.
Fuck.
But whatever.
Still left there.
Useless, staring in the distance.
With a bear.
Thinking of IKEA instructions.
Well, I thought Drake kit would be able to help you, but you're not doing anything.
Frog, now you're up.
So for the boots of levitation.
Actually, before that happens.
Oh, fuck.
God damn it.
At the end of your turn, he's going to use this third legendary action this round to,
without any attack opportunity, move.
Shit.
Right there.
Is that Lord Pryorwood?
Yes.
How far is that from now?
It pulls away, still kind of trying to get outside of the range of the sunlight.
The boots of levitation, it says it requires an action to levitate?
Correct.
Could I do three attacks or just two and then have an action left over?
It's an action?
You could action and then you have your one bonus strike as a frenzied rage.
Up to you.
Can you put on the boots as a bonus action?
No, I'm already wearing it.
Oh.
Set it up.
Set it up.
Do whatever you want.
Do it on this move and then on the next move.
It's too long.
Yeah.
Fuck it.
I'll take all three strikes at Lady Briarwood.
Okay.
So you move in to there.
Go ahead and make your attacks.
That's good.
25.
You have disadvantage on these strikes as her cloak is now kicked back in.
17.
17 misses.
First blow just passes through her form.
Inspired.
I use that inspiration on that one.
No, not on that one, fucking that's amazing.
So the first one missed, the second one missed?
The second one, the first and the second one.
The first and the second one.
First strike with disadvantage?
Jesus Christ.
Uh, 20.
20 hits.
One of those hits.
As this one actually finds purchase on her torso, the shimmering effect
vanishes once again the cloak falling limp to her side.
Uh, 19.
19.
Okay.
The hammer just slams into the front of her chest and she gets, ugh.
She was just starting to get a little, almost feral in her frustration.
Um.
Uh, feral?
Just like, um, or she's just a thing, not like, change transformation.
Okay, okay, okay.
I will release, I will take my move now.
Okay.
And I will, uh, make me's hand!
And I will raise up the hand, I guess, somewhere between Silas and lady.
It's the miniature.
Yay!
Yay!
Give her that sexy hand.
So Mr. is injured, right?
He's looking rough.
And she is not flickering anymore, so I could get a good hit on her as well.
The disadvantage on attack against her has faded.
I will go on her. I don't like her.
Okay. So I'll just punch her in the face.
Okay.
Goes forward. Go ahead and roll for your spell attack against her.
Oh, okay.
Is this through the cone?
This, the cone, there isn't a cone aspect to it.
It's more the...
Oh, so do I just roll the hit or what do I...
Yeah, I'll pull it up right here.
All right, so this is the clenched fist. You make immediately a spell attack.
Just roll the 20 and add your spell attack bonus.
Okay. Spell attack.
16.
As the fist towards her, she ducks in it.
Slams into the pillar, cracking.
That's my knuckle.
Yeah.
How far away?
How far away am I from both of them?
From both of them, you are about 45 feet from Silas and about 65 feet from her.
Spiring motherfucker.
I get 10 feet closer to her.
Can you inspire that?
This is the rest of my turn that I already used.
That's right.
That's right.
All right.
So that's the end of Grog's turn.
All right.
It is now Silas's turn.
Not doing shit.
My hand is there.
My hand is there.
My hand is there.
I'm stepping off to the stairs to get out of the range of the sunlight just outside
of the radius of it.
And glancing over at you after you have just unleashed that swing of attack towards
his wife.
I think it goes, you know.
Make wisdom saving throw with advantage.
With advantage?
Come on.
Roll.
High.
Roll high.
Roll high.
Roll like you're Percy.
Come on.
You're not Percy.
What you roll?
A four.
With advantage?
Yep.
Wow.
What is happening?
With that grog now, you realize you've been on the wrong side of this battlefield the whole time,
and your allies are being assaulted by individuals that claim to be your friends, but might be completely against this whole circumstance.
Your allegiance switches for now to defend them at all costs.
That's going to end his turn.
Pike.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, I'm raging. Can I be charmed?
Oh!
That's a good notification to make.
The charm effect hits your mind and through the blind.
This is why you read your abilities, guys.
I don't remember all the details, so.
Best question of the night.
Oh my God.
That's going to take a second.
It takes a second.
As you see this look, you feel, you feel, you feel, you feel
the influence begin to pry, but it isn't enough to push through the red blazing anger.
Yeah!
Oh, that's...
That was the thin red line, travels.
Yep.
With that, you see the expression of intent?
Oh my God.
...sohn worry on Silas's face, ending his turn.
Mike, what are you doing?
Oh!
Architect.
Okay, so I would like to channel divinity and destroy on dead.
Yes!
This is what we hired you for.
Just as a heads up, just so you know, destroy undead for the most part is only effective
against lower level undead.
Knowing that Silas is a vampire, it might not have the desired effect you're thinking
it might.
Okay.
Just as a heads up.
I mean, you can still turn undead and it may make him afraid of you.
But that is.
Give a try.
Okay.
I like it.
All right, we're bringing this up here,
they're fast.
All right, so.
How close am I to win?
Pretty close.
Pretty close.
Yeah, he's 20 feet.
20 feet from you.
I feel like I just want to hit him
with my mace of disruption.
I like it.
If you want to.
He's rough, he's rough.
Yeah, he is pretty rough.
So instead you run up, charging towards him.
Shield up in front of you, Pike,
her blazing radiant form, kind of energy drifting off
and behind her.
You pull back your mace, since it swings in the air,
for a quick flicker of angelic wings
appear at your back as you're
swings down towards him. Go ahead and roll your attack.
Oh, hi, Silas.
Oh, come on.
Okay, 16, but I'm going to use war god's blessing and add 10.
Yes, you can do that.
Aha!
God's blessing.
I like it.
Yeah.
That's hot.
Okay, okay, yeah. War God's blessing.
H-A-W-T-H-A-W-T-H-A.
She has inspiration?
So you use your, right?
But has she rolled yet?
Yep, a creature within 30 feet makes a type of way,
you can use direction to grant that creature.
Usually it's against other creatures.
So you, you, okay, so we're God's blessing you can only use in other creatures, but you do have
Channel Divinity Guided Strike, which you can use on yourself.
It's essentially the same thing.
You give yourself plus 10 bonus to the rule.
So you use your channel divinity guided strike instead.
Got it.
Okay.
Okay, so that bring you to 26, that would hit.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
All right, so you slam down on the Silas for your Mesa
disruption.
Killim.
Go ahead and roll damage on that.
He is considered an undead.
Kill him.
Kill him.
Kill him.
How many times do I roll?
You may say, well, you roll your damage, and it does an additional 2D6 radiant damage.
Damn.
See ya.
The mace damage.
Okay, got it, got it, got it.
Sorry, guys, sorry.
I'm back.
I'm back.
I'm back.
I'm back.
You're dead.
You, your head cell is really pretty.
Nice.
Nice.
I think the technical their logo.
I'll get their heads down like asslake.
Okay, 21.
21 points of damage.
Yeah.
Okay, as per the effect of the spell, he now has to make a wisdom saving throw, which he does succeed.
Oh, fuck.
Failed he would have been destroyed.
No.
However, on his success, he is still afraid of you.
So he is now considered afraid of Pike.
Which is disadvantaged in all attack roles.
Fuck yeah, he is.
Let him know, Pike!
Until the end of your next turn.
Awesome, Pike.
Anything else you want to doing your turn?
Is that it?
I would love to go up to Vax, but I don't think I can, right?
No, no.
Okay.
I'll stay, I'll stay.
Okay, that ends your turn, Pike.
Vax, you're up.
Awesome, I'm going to shoot him.
Gonna shoot Zaz?
Yeah, with Holy Arrows.
Okay.
That does not hit him.
Come on.
19?
19 hits?
Yeah.
Just barely.
17.
Damage, all right.
Plus two holy damage.
All right.
So the first attack missed?
Yeah.
The second one hit?
Yeah.
The second one hit?
Yeah.
19.
19 damage.
All right.
So if the arrows, one hits the armor and just streaks off and shatters against the green glass stonework of the top of the zigarat.
The second one strikes him in the back of the neck, and you see a blast of the energy crosses his throat.
He reaches up and tries to grab for the air.
and tries to grab for the arrow, but the arrow itself is disintegrated by the blast of holy energy,
leaving a gaping wound in the back of his neck. He's still standing, but he's, you can see his form is now falling apart.
Parts of ash are beginning to pour off of his flesh. He's looking really rough.
All right, that finishes Vex's turn. Unless you want to move. You need to stay where you are?
I'm gonna move. I'm afraid my flying potion's gonna start to wear off soon.
Okay. So I'm going to move. Is there a roof?
On that middle compound building?
Where you can see, no, it is open.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Can I land on top of the pillar?
The pillar holds a slight overhang, so you can land on top of the overhang if you want.
Yeah.
All right, so you land on top of the overhang, stopping there.
Yeah.
It blocks all of you from beneath this line there, but...
But I can still see...
You could like peek around if you want to.
Yeah, okay.
Okay.
Percy, you're up.
Okay.
First thing I'm going to do is I'm going to take...
I'm going to pull out the...
the peck-box, and I'm going to take a shot at Silas, and I'm going to get him to drop his sword.
Okay. So.
You're not going to kill him?
No, not yet. Just in case things go bad, and I also just want to make sure that's 26.
That hits. So that's a...
No damage, but he drops his weapon?
But he dropped his weapon.
So with that, pshh, the blade he was holding.
clatters to the ground before him, the onyx blade kind of shining what low light there is
around this temple.
Now I'm going to take a shot at him.
That's 29.
That hits.
That does, let's do...
10 points of damage?
10 points of damage.
As that bullet hits him, you see it begins to dissipate, and then turns into a missed form
in the space where he is.
He turned into mist.
So he is currently now a form of mist.
Where he can go heal himself unless we can get it.
He'll try and get back to his shit.
He's going to try and run.
How close am I to...
How close am I to...
How close am I to Lady Breyer?
You're 10 feet from room.
10 feet?
That's close enough, I guess.
I'm going to...
I'm going to...
take a couple steps back, and I'm just going to start, I'm going to do a fire shot and a nice shot with my last two shots.
We've already done two shots.
Oh yeah, I'm with a fire shot with my next shot.
Okay.
With, uh, is she currently have advantage or no?
No, because it does not come back.
Okay, so I'm also going to put sharpshooter on that.
Okay.
Uh, yay.
Is the 17-19?
She's...
26 to hit?
That hits.
So that's...
That's...
Plus...
Is that her right there?
No, that's Cassandra.
That's Cassandra.
That's probably right there.
Oh, right there.
Give these hands like...
Right.
That's...
Oh, and plus the hex.
So that's 16, 17, 18, 19, 19, 19, 20, 1.
24 points of damage plus two points of fire damage.
Ooh, nice. All right.
The shot blasts into the side of her face.
her face. You can see part of her jawbone is cracked as part of this, and her ear is blown
off to one side of her face. She cradles into her side as, ugh. Like a ketchup pack.
Let's spend an action surgeon. Keep enjoying this. Our clarie giggles from Basilheim.
So let's take, alright, we take a, see, let's uh. There's a time to blow your wadets now.
Yeah, let's, uh, let's take a... Pugh Pugh.
Yeah, let's take a violent shot on top of that.
Violent shot.
Use the violent shot action with the ice damage.
So let's see what that does.
What's a violent shot?
Natural 20.
This is going to be ugly as fuck.
Oh, my God.
Of course it is.
Of course.
How much, and this is all piercing damage, right?
This is all, oh my God, this is so fucking bad.
This is what this is about to be.
Yeah.
So that's, oh my god, this is going to be so,
it's a tag it deals additional dice for arms.
Okay, so let's start doing this.
That's, I'm going to need.
Do all the dice rolls get doubled?
All the dice rolls.
All the dice for this roll.
All the dice for this roll.
Oh boy.
So I'm just going to roll the dice and then double it.
Okay, so.
High rolls.
All high, high, high, high.
Big money, no whamies.
Eh.
It could be worse.
7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 11, 12, 13.
13, 13, 13, 36.
36, 37, 389, 41.
42 points of damage plus 8 points of ice damage.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
This blast hits her in the side of the shoulder,
and the cloak catches fire for a moment before dispersing,
and you can see the impact of blood now seeping into a row.
So she's looking rough, but you've noticed with each of these shots, what the impact you're
used to doing with these shots, not doing the full impact you'd expect, especially with the force
of these blows. Every shot you've taken on her in particular. But that ends your turn?
No, I've still got two more shots.
Go forth.
Good court.
I'm going to hold off my last, actually, I get my grip point back from that, because that was
an actual 20.
Yeah. So that was a free shot.
When do you reload, by the way?
When do you reload?
I have two more shots and then I have to reload.
I'll keep your track.
I'm getting good.
Let's hit her in the legs.
Okay.
Yeah, so that's 7, 8, 9, 10, 20 to hit.
20 to hit.
This is with your minus 5?
Are you taking a sharp shot a shot on this?
Yeah, yeah.
Because you know, she rolled a what?
No, I know 20 total to hit.
Right, okay.
I rolled a 13.
Right, yeah, okay.
So that does hit, yes.
Okay.
Yeah, I'm just taking, just because she has her disadvantage.
She needs to make a Constitution saving throw.
Okay.
22.
DC equals 8 plus my proficiency mod plus my dexterity mod, so 8.
Plus 10, so 18.
So she made it. So she didn't fall. But she still takes some damage, so let's see what she does.
10, 12, 22.
28 points of damage.
All right.
And just because this is really annoying me, I'm going to give her a gut shot.
Oh my God.
Torso shot, so same thing, sharpshooter.
I'm seeing it's slow motion.
Same roll.
On woo style.
Yeah.
Throwing bullets.
11 plus 27 points of damage.
27 points of damage.
Jesus.
And she has a disadvantage on strength and dexterity checks for the rest of the round.
Okay.
Very peruble round.
Good to know.
I'm going to back up a little bit for the rest of my.
Over here.
Yeah.
Just to get it so that she...
To get out of her views and to just destroyed her.
Sure.
All right, that ends your turn, Preston?
Yeah.
Cassandra, seeing all this go down and her being, having this crisis moment, like, picks up her sword, rushes over and uses her action to pull out one of the potions that you gave her, the greater healing potion, and feed it to the ailing potion and feed it to the ailing, right?
God damn it, girl.
I mean, he did.
I gave her one.
I gave her one, too.
A greater?
We wasted a greater.
We wasted a greater.
I'm a nice guy.
I can't resist the charm of a woman, especially one who looks identical to you.
Her wounds kind of close up a little bit.
Her ear wound tends to heal over a little bit, and she kind of reps mouth.
Thank you dear.
Silas, to the ritual.
Well, he's a mist.
Right.
Keeleaf, it's your turn.
Do it.
Killip, girl.
Okay.
Burn him.
So I turn and I start just shouting to the mist
and I say, what's the matter, Silas?
Afraid of Little Gnome and a druid,
and I just blast him with Sunbeam.
That was the latest.
Thanks, I'm not good with lines.
It wasn't good with lines.
Frilems.
You afraid of a little.
Did you afraid of us?
Let's work out.
I heard Percy try to do lines, and I'm like,
that's what badass is doing.
Low charisma and a lot of damage.
I guess, in this together instance, I want to ask you, how do you want to do this?
Yeah!
Sorry, cursed gun!
There's still a, you know, his semi-visible form of like his body, but in a mist form is trying to slowly escape off of the top of this structure.
Okay, Pike is standing right next to him.
Correct.
So I'm going to use Pike and kind of use the light that she,
I have off a pike and kind of combine it to do like a joint sunbeam, uh, holy,
and bomb. Okay.
Right.
Yeah.
He's gonna eat a bag of holy dix, is what you're saying, right?
Yes. I wanted to eat a bag of holy dicks.
Okay. Now explain that, please.
Okay.
to make it sound great.
So, looking over at Pike, already ready with her,
mace up in the air, and the mist recoiling from her,
you kind of glanced at each other, have that connective point,
and as Pike brings up her shield,
you bring back your sunbeam and throw it towards the shield,
arcing it in his direction as she ricochets the reflection
of the actual sunlight back at him at the same time.
That was way cooler than what you said.
Yeah, way cooler.
As it sprays across, the beams themselves,
The beams themselves seem to form nearly phallic rays.
Cross the stream.
Cross the stream.
Carrying through the mist and with an echoing scream,
you hear Silas' voice ring out as the mist is immediately dissipated and disintegrated.
His form.
Fuck you, silent!
Fuck you!
High five, pike!
Oh, how's it feel, Lady Briarwood?
She...
looking over her shoulder at, still looking at him as she's called to him to, you know, go join in the altar room.
The ritual room looks over and sees that he's missed for him. And in slow motion from her perspective,
she just sees Keila step forward, wind blowing around her, releasing this beam and watching him be disintegrated.
Immediately her eyes open wide, and she screams out,
No!
Silas!
And you can see, like, her whole body's shaking now at this point, the horror of seeing
her partner, the love of her life disintegrated before her.
Tears immediately burst down her face, and her hands are shaking in there.
She just screams out,
You can't! I broke the world for us!
No!
Does she need be your turn?
Ask a question.
Does Cassandra's charm come from Silas or Lady Briarwood?
At this point, you have no idea.
What about yours?
Yours is from Lady Briarrow.
The Lady.
The Lady.
Yours is fine.
All right, does that end your turn, Keelie?
Uh, yeah, yeah.
All righty.
So, with that that brings up the top of the initiative round,
is now Lady Delilah Briarwood's turn.
Looking around, keeping with anger and frustration,
She uses, kind of looks around her area, the tears shriek down her face, blood streaked down one side of her head.
She looks at Cassandra, who currently right now is faltering.
She's everything closing around her.
She'll go.
It's too soon.
It's our only chance.
And with that, she is going to step around here.
Somebody hit her.
Hit her.
She's still in combat with you, so you don't get an impact of opportunity.
Kila, if you do, if you want to try and swing towards her.
Can I use my sunlight at all that I have up or no?
You have to make a combat strike.
It has with a stick.
Do it?
Do it.
Can I go for a trip?
Can I try and tripper?
No, this is just a single million attack.
Five foot beaver in the head.
Now, Joshua's Wattie!
Okay.
Go ahead and roll damage to the game.
That does that.
We got the MVP over here.
B'bam!
Five, ten, blood, 12 damage!
Alright.
Kick out!
Wham!
Oh!
and she stumbles forward and kind of looks about the rest of you. And she is using her
second and the last fifth level spell to attempt to cast another dimension door out of
the sight of the one who previously dispelled it with that. Can I counter spell that?
You have no visual on her. She is behind the pillar. This time she knew where you were
and was not about to let that happen again. She disappears behind the pillar and you guys watch
her step in the doorway and a vanish from sight. Seriously? She's still hunter's marked.
She's under smart.
She still has hex on her for as long as that lasts.
That lasts a while.
Yeah.
But she is currently...
Are you still a C-Under thing still?
Or did it break?
What she did?
The flight lasts for an hour, the potion lasts for an hour.
And it's probably been about...
No, she's asking if I'm still.
You currently, yes.
Make another constitution statement.
Come on, big roll.
Thirteen plus nothing is 13.
All right.
So as you guys all kind of look around yourself,
yourself, Silas disintegrated. Cassandra, kind of still holding the blades and looking
around and is like going from a fight position, almost like a cornered creature to, you know,
looking at the sundering of her brother and is just looking completely frazzled and confused.
Like she's already on the verge of tears or a rage of her own. You look over and see your brother
down below and he's just kind of standing there. His dagger still dropped to the ground in front
of him and it's been staring into space this entire time.
I float down in front of him and slap him across the face.
Like that? Okay.
You know what it feels.
Make another saving throw.
No.
Okay, he just slap. Slap. He's taking it.
Can I go over to Vax?
Cassandra's still up, right?
No, he's not fighting us.
She's correct.
I'm gonna remove curse on him.
Okay, you cast remove curse.
Let me see.
Okay. This is not considered a curse, so as the spell is
alleviates his energy into Vax, he still stands there staring into space.
Oh, God.
Oh, wait, are we slapping Vax? Let me try.
You said, yeah. You said the thing about a minute before, though, didn't you?
Yeah, so a little time goes by and then eventually it wears off.
It does?
I'm going to start looking at that door and figuring out a way to...
Is Cassam is still there?
Yes, she is.
Can I grab her by the neck and walk her to the edge of the pyramid?
Yeah.
So you grab her...
Lift the rubber.
She's...
Drops her weapons.
No, as Grog takes her to the edge of the girl.
No, let's not.
Let's not.
Why not?
I walk up to Grog and her, and I face Percy
and repeat what Grog said, why not?
Is he still under her spell?
She's been here a very long time.
Let's just knock her unconscious and let her be.
I turn towards her and I punch her across the jaw, as hard as I can.
Okay.
At this point of the damage, she's taken the mental shock.
she's in in the current circumstance, the one hit just whack, clocks her, and she goes unconscious
in his grip.
You can, um, handcuff her back and we can.
We do have manacles?
Yeah.
Put it in the bag of holding.
No.
No.
Thank you.
No.
Can I, um.
Maybe greater restoration her.
Yeah. Can I, can I greater restoration on her?
Do you have another level of that spell?
No.
And you can not.
Yeah, it's a fifth level spell, so.
Yeah, we can save it for late.
Can't we get it?
Can't we get it?
I take all the manacles and I manacle her hand.
Okay.
What's up, Pike?
You have greater restoration?
Not on me.
Not today.
I'm gonna start working with that door.
And to be super shitty.
I take a leg to rope and I'm gonna wrap it around her ankles
and then tie it up back to her so she can't stand up.
Oh, sorry Cassandra.
She's gotta stay there when she wakes up.
All right.
Bigby's hand does last a minute if you want to keep it maintained.
Can I pick up the... The minute has passed at this time. It's probably going to pass
before the thing is... All right, before it passes, it gives me a quick deep tissue massage.
Okay. Can I get your breath from it? Can I pick up Silas's...
You can, yep. What does a common healing potion do, by the way? It'll
require a short rest to really tune and get the nature of it, but it is a very beautiful
looking weapon.
Okay. I'll put it in the bag of hold.
Did you, did you, you picked up his sword?
Good, that's why I had him drop it.
Yeah, I noticed.
So he wouldn't disintegrate with it.
Yep, and so I, one of us, possibly me, could use it.
Have a better sword than your piece of shit?
Yeah.
So we have to find her, she's somewhere close.
I'll give him the sword. He's got the onyx sword.
There is a brooch also left from the ground from the ashes left behind.
Use this.
I'll pick it up and look at it.
Okay, I mean, these items will take a little bit of the sword.
Time to look over.
I'll look at it for a whole 10 seconds.
Do I get my strength back, by the way?
I'm just down.
Just down.
So can I see from being on the roof what's inside the building?
Because you said there's no roof to that.
What is a temple that I was up on top of?
Correct.
If you're looking inside of it right now,
that's over.
There is the open kind of, it's an open roof square construct.
There are two hallways that lead in the inside from both sides.
The walls have a strange kind of icy texture to them.
It's hard to make out the details right here,
and what little bit of light is in there.
There is a central platform that rises up in the middle.
There is a stairway on the opposite side of the room
that leads up to that platform,
and there are a series of grooves in the ground
that form some sort of shape that you can't make out
from this viewpoint.
But you do see Lady Briarward atop that platform right now.
How far?
She's inside the temple.
Let's go in.
I took a minor healing potion. Is that 2D8?
A minor? A regular one is 2D4 plus 2.
Oh.
Can we?
What a, what a, I'll trade you one.
Can I use? I'll trade you a greater for a common. I take the common.
What's the greater do? The greater is 4d4 plus four.
Can I drop the rope down from the roof on that so everybody can get up in?
Yeah.
Can you get up and over?
Yeah.
Yeah, can you go.
Okay, I'm going to do that.
Okay. It'll take you all.
I'll do that. As you drop the rope.
I mean, I don't know if you want to try the doors,
but I just thought we can get in.
Okay.
Okay.
I'll do you lower the rope.
I'm going to walk up to my sister and take her hand,
but I'm going to squeeze it as hard as I can.
Okay.
I'm just walking with it.
Okay.
Well, she's up on top of the roof,
and she lights up on my one.
Vax, you do notice out of the corner of your eye
as you lower the rope.
There is a flash of greenish light from the light
light from the center platform, and from the distance you can see, Delilah is up on the platform
reading from some sort of scroll.
I shoot an arrow at her?
How far away is she?
She's about 80 feet from you.
I pull out bad news.
Yeah.
But none of you guys can see her, only she sees her.
You guys are still on the ground.
Oh, okay.
I've lowered the rope so you guys can start climbing up.
Can I see her if I've gone up to her?
You're the first one to climb up.
Yeah.
You're on.
You should just lowered the rope so you're finding your way up now.
You haven't even seen it yet.
You notice all the ice and the walls shatters and kind of clinks to the ground. You
can hear like the sound, this doesn't sound of a million little shards of ice clinking around
the ground and you can see the walls almost like they're moving or arriving slightly.
Can I shoot at her? Yeah. Yeah. If you'd like to, yeah.
I want to. Okay. Okay.
Percy, get up the fuck on her. I'm heading straight up that, yeah.
What's your range increment for your longbow? I can't, I don't see it.
Should be under, I'll look for under the equipment section of the book.
Sorry, it doesn't say on the...
Have hiccups?
I'm going to start throwing as soon as I'm near my sister.
I don't think 80, you can't throw 80 feet.
No, but I could get closer.
No, you can't. We're on the roof around it.
That's true, Grog. That's true. That's a good point.
I feel like it's 120 feet.
There's 150 feet, yeah.
There's no real serious issue there.
But yeah, you can go ahead and get disadvantage on the strike.
Oh, I do.
Because her images don't kind of shimmering.
That's great.
13.
13, aero, which disappears in the darkness.
Can I hit her again?
Go for it.
What is the relationship to her if I've just got next to her?
She was married to Silas?
No, no, shut up to you.
Where are we and where are she?
Okay, so you guys want to have a real person to come up to the top and start looking?
Oh, Mark.
Oh, geez.
That's a big man.
It's a big man.
You know what they say about guys with big be hands.
Bigby hands. Bigby gloves, yeah.
20 was the second arrow that I shot at her.
20?
Purple and remote.
And only temporary.
Thank you.
Percy, are you up here yet?
I sort of way on the edge of a, like a ledge or a wall?
There's a ledge that goes along the entire wall that encases this, but there's no roof.
It's just an open kind of square area.
That's nice.
So you would get up to there.
Can I go up next?
Can I make it go through the piece of paper that she's reading?
To get her in the...
That would have been something to call before you said you shot her.
So next attack you can't afford.
And you said Jennifer Lopez is like 80 feet from us?
She's roughly, yeah.
I'll head up as well.
19 damage to her is what I rolled.
19 damage?
19 damage?
Yes.
Okay.
Strikes her.
The arrow hits and kind of gleams off of her.
and kind of gleams off of her, the damage, much like Percy's, is not quite having the full
damage you'd want to. However, as that hits, she reaches into her pocket and pull something out.
Percy, you get to the top there.
Mm-hmm.
Who's up next?
I'll go.
I'll go.
I'm going to.
Okay.
I'm always behind.
All right.
The rest of you have you gathered at the bottom here. Trinket is going to have an argument.
I'm getting up there.
I'm going to take 80 feet.
Well, before that happens, as a reaction, I'm going to be up there.
reaction to that, she pulls me out of her hand. There's a streak of red light that arcs upward,
and there's a slight streaking sound as a familiar arcane blast hits. A fireball bursts on the roof area around all of you.
I need a dexterity saving throw from all three of you guys up there.
Am I up there? Do I say who's up there right now?
Is there a great advantage on it at all?
Nope.
15. Can I use uncanny dodge in this moment?
You, you mean to lower the damage by half?
Yeah.
You can do it.
What is she casting a spell?
Yeah.
I can also use evasion.
You failed to save.
Depending on the spell.
Right, but depending on what it is.
Like, I'm, those both are different things.
Half damage, half damage.
Okay, no, they do the same thing.
Sorry.
It's okay.
All right, so saving throws for Percy.
25.
65 for your deck.
Twenty-five.
I rolled in 19.
That's great.
16.
It was a 15.
15, so half damage or whatever it is.
So you just take half damage, you take full damage.
That is 36 points of fire damage.
Well, no.
To you, that would be 18 to both of you guys.
18.
18 points of fire damage.
Another 18 points of fire damage?
No, just to them.
You took the full damage.
Okay.
Next person up the rope.
This woman.
Do die.
Me.
All right, Kila, if you make your way up to the top.
Can I fire now, or?
You can fire now, yeah.
It's 80 feet.
80 feet.
So it's within the pepper box range.
I'm going to shoot for the scroll.
Okay.
With fire.
Okay.
Yeah, good, oh, boy, oh boy.
I'm going to use, that rolled really low.
I can use that bonus die.
I rolled within my my, my, my,
Missfire?
Miss fire?
Can I use the-
The natural roll is still what gets for the messfire, unfortunately.
Oh no.
What flank?
I'm going to try and fix it.
Okay.
No, it's...
Pepperbox is broken.
Right.
Have I recovered it all to shoot again?
Wrong.
Have I recovered enough to try to shoot at her again?
Will only in a second.
This is all like he gets up there.
Now it's your driver.
Pepper box is completely broken.
Yeah, unusable.
Oh no.
If only we had another gun.
I know.
Oh, wait, we do.
You have bad news.
No, we have another gun.
We have two more guns, so.
We have Ripley's guns.
Give it to me.
Are you up on top?
No, but I can give it to you if you're not.
I'm gonna take a, do I still have, we still.
Yeah, one more attack, but it'll, so you mean, it was,
you'll take, it's a, yeah, you'll get bad news out, that's your, yeah.
All right, with that.
Matthew.
Yes.
You're very good at this.
Mm-hmm.
What do you want to do?
That's, that's it.
I just want to say you're very good at this.
We're running a little late, trying to get through this climatic moment, guys.
Apologies.
Are we running?
Don't look.
It's fine.
We're trying.
Sorry, guys.
Crew hates us.
I know. It's okay. I'll make it up to them.
At this point, the scroll...
God damn it.
...manishes and she...
She has a bonus action at the top of this turn.
gashes across her wrist and spreads her own life's blood across what looks at you.
You can see this dark orb about a foot in diameter that's resting in the center of this upper platform.
Can I take a potion really fast?
At the type of return you can as a bonus action, yes.
The orb is the, it's a flowing...
The dark orb in the center of this platform that she's currently on in the center of this room.
It's half embedded into the ground, and she scatters her blood across it.
You can see her shaking with fear and trepidation during this whole circumstance.
She splatters her blood on the dark.
Yeah, make a perception check.
Those are up top, by the way.
Is there any?
Is there any?
Jesus Christ.
Oh.
16.
I'm climbing.
One.
What are we trying to do?
Perception.
Perception.
Scamling gets up.
Hey, hi, guys.
What's going?
Oh.
Nice.
20.
Bleeding all over that thing?
Does we've got 15 or higher?
You notice the writhing on the walls.
The walls are encased in what looks like a tapestry of body.
hundreds of humanoid individuals that are kind of woven into each other, each missing
their left hand and or left eye from their body, and they're all just squirming and writhing
and rithing. Many of them are in various states of decay, and they're just moving after that
ice that was encased in the mid-shattered. There's this low kind of weird moaning drone that's
beginning to fill the room. The black orbit itself is starting to rise out of the center of the
pedestal as well. Now, Vex, since you had the top of this and Vax, you guys, what do you want
to do?
Wait, wait, there's an orb coming up from where in there?
The center of the platform she's on.
She's got blood on it. She's doing a magic ritual.
And we're how high in the air from the floor that she's on?
I'd say you're about 30 feet up. She's 40 feet up. She's actually risen a little bit above you guys.
I'm going to guzzle a potion, and I'm going to shoot Percy's special arrow question mark at
The orb.
I thought orb.
You're not going to stop this with an arrow.
It's happened already.
It's done.
If I go to the very edge, how far am I to her?
To the very edge, you are.
What are you are?
What am I supposed to do?
Just do it.
Just do it.
I have an idea.
Maybe she's a sacrifice at this point if we killed it.
That's within range, right?
Have your daggers?
Yeah.
Oh, I'm throwing then.
At her.
What's the throwing dagger?
60 feet.
Because I'm sharpshooter, so it's a sharp shooter.
So it's a little.
I take no disadvantage.
Right, so you're going to disseminated at the full thing.
Okay.
Yeah.
Then.
Yeah, I don't like her.
Yeah, so you can still hit her, yeah.
Yeah, so I'm just going to throw two daggers at her.
I don't know if there's any poison left.
I'm sure there's not on the life stealing and the keen.
The first one is not good at all.
That's a 14, and the second one is hits.
That's a 28.
That is the life stealing.
Uh, that is, uh, that is, uh,
Only four. It's just seven points of damage.
Okay.
Magically.
Four, four, four.
Thanks.
Well, I had said I was going to shoot the orb.
Okay, go for it.
All right, I'm going to shoot a special arrow question mark.
Plus you're left-handed and she apparently has things against people.
Yeah, exactly.
You flick me in the left nut. Are you complicit?
You don't know.
Uh, 23.
23?
23? Okay. That does hit the orb. Go ahead and roll damage.
Do it.
What I'm doing?
Let's see what happens.
15?
Okay. The arrow streaks off and seemingly hits the orb, splinters across its surface.
Millwall. It was the arrow question mark.
Oh, it's the explosive one?
Oh, okay.
Question mark. Okay, it works.
The arrow arcs off and did you roll the disadvantage on that one because it is the explosive arrow?
Oh shit, no.
15. The arrow just
just passed and slams into the bottom of the pillar.
You see a just a muffled explosion and light flash,
and it kind of rocks the center of it but she still maintains concentration.
She looks over at where it came from.
Should I have shot her? I'm sorry, I should have shot her.
It's fine. It wouldn't have done anything.
Okay.
Try something?
Is I am I able to try something?
Is she still bleeding all over this orb?
The bleeding is finished now.
The bleeding is finished now.
And the orb is rising up and it's pulsing.
Question.
Yes.
We surprise her?
No, she's well aware of you guys coming here.
She's well aware that we're here.
All right.
But did I go before, like, is there initiative here?
Did I go before her turn?
Right now it says people arrive.
I'm counting this.
I've probably do initiative after we finish this set.
Am I still? Can I still fly?
You can still fly if you want, yeah.
Are we how far?
55 feet, then, 55 feet, then.
Am I?
Do I get to do you get to do that now, so?
I think this is going to be shot down, and I'm fine if it is, but I know that with assassinate,
if I go before the enemy does, it's an automatic critical.
This is one of the circumstances where you guys have been already in combat.
All right.
This isn't a scenario where you kind of got the jump on them.
She's where you guys are there, and she's just trying to finish this while ignoring that circumstance.
I'm going to pull out a fancy robe from my bag, and I'm trying to fly towards the orb.
Okay.
Well, she does that.
Facts.
Don't worry about.
Kela's got shoes.
I don't know if it's going to work, but I can try.
All right, you three.
Okay.
So you could argue that like our bodies are made out of like 70% water right.
So like if I cast control water, can I move her blood?
Uh...
You can certainly try.
Her blood is already been cast across the orb, and it seems to have initiated whatever
as part of it. There's not still blood like pouring onto it. She scattered across it once.
So like, wiping the blood off probably wouldn't work.
You can try. Let's say no. She rolls really high. He's saying you can try. Really
high. How good do you feel about a nath20?
You roll a 17 to a 20, maybe.
How good do you feel about a natural 20? Well, judging by the shit that's been going on today.
Um, fuck it, I already said it. I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna do control water. I'm gonna see if I can like suck all the blood off of the, the worm.
Okay. Mm-hmm.
Go ahead and roll a D20. Add your wisdom modifier.
Okay.
Oh, did you see that?
I did. Did you see that?
I did. That was cruel.
It was on a 20.
And then it bounced.
Um, 15.
15? Okay.
Total.
Focusing from this distance, you try to. The blood.
blood shifts across the surface, but there is some sort of power that's holding it to the orbit is unmoved.
That was almost really cool. That's okay. And I'm scummin.
I got one shot at this, right? Yes.
I'm going to try to cast, I can't cast anything anymore. I'm going to try to cast suggestion on her.
Okay. And I will say, stop, collaborate and listen. Because I'm a known who's on a mission. Follow me.
I kill your husband the litch and I'll make you my bitch.
Husband was a vampire.
Oh yeah, whatever.
It didn't rhyme, it's fine.
Oh man.
Come on, Hail Mary Pass.
Here we go.
Okay.
That is a...
Suggestion is a...
Oh, she probably can't be charmed.
It's a wisdom saving.
Okay.
She rolled a 19. What's your DC on that?
Oh my.
19.
Yeah, with the cone.
Whoa.
Good attempt, though.
That was good.
That was good.
Never mind.
Carry on.
Percy.
I'm going to, I'm going to take a shot with bad news because this is just getting really ridiculous.
I'm going to try and get her attention and get her to pay attention.
Let's have a normal roll.
Oh, for the love of God.
No.
One.
One.
So, bad news.
Explosion.
All right.
Go ahead and do you want to try and repair it?
Just barely.
Okay.
And I can try and get one more bullet to come out of it at this point.
So I'm going to make one last attempt to make it shoot after clearing the chamber.
Best the bullet.
Better.
Jesus H. Christ, 24.
That'll hit.
Kudra.
Really, this is not going to kill her.
Kudegra.
This is not going to kill her.
This is at least going to get her attention.
Um, come on pass it off.
That's the wrong.
At least distract her.
Come on Percy.
Uh, that's...
That was a 12 under 12, which is dope.
Yeah, that's 21.
27 points of damage.
Okay.
So the blast from bad news kept through the air.
It slams into her side and she's going to throw it off the top of the platform from the blast of it.
You can see now bloods
streaking down on the other arm now, and she just has blood down the side of her face,
down her one arm on the other, and she's shaking in place on the platform. She sees you kind
of lifting towards holding the rope at the side, and she's kind of looking at the orb,
and doesn't even seem to really know what's going to happen. There's this anticipation
and fear in her eyes. Everything's been torn from her at this point. She's a cation animal
with nothing to lose. So that finishes your turn. Taking her turn, she sees you rushing towards
her. She extends her finger.
Oh wait, I took a potion, I took a potion. I said on the last turn and I didn't use it.
Okay, so what did you roll?
I don't know how much to roll for a greater healing potion.
That's why I didn't do it.
That is 4D4 plus 4.
No.
No, I'm serious.
Shut up.
What's wrong?
What are you at?
76.
Okay.
She extends her finger towards you with a look.
This is kind of a point of recognition, this moment where you're like, this seems familiar.
I know that.
I know that.
Uh, you make Constitution saving from.
There's no, there's no attack, there's no nothing, there's no roll.
I can't cutting words this?
Nope.
Can I start sneaking up there?
I can't, I can't cutting words the damage?
Uh, four, it's not a weapon attack.
Eleven.
No.
Okay, nope.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Total.
13.
No.
All right, so.
So.
This is it.
This is it.
No.
45 plus 30.
Uh, 75 points of necrotic damage.
What are you at?
76?
Oh my god.
Oh my god.
All righty.
You're one hit point.
You fuck.
As your life force is suddenly sucked out of your body and you managed to capture what essence of your existence still holds you aloft.
Dr.
forward, almost toppling over in your fly spell. At this point, she kind of looks at her
finger frustrated, glances at the rest of you, and looks forward to the orb and goes, come
on, come on. At this point, the orb, who is now shimmering in the blood kind of is slowly
spilling over the outside of the dark onic sphere. It begins to spin and spin.
You've moved up to this point. Now you're right at the edge.
Why don't you go away?
The orb suddenly shrinks in a flash of an instant.
Becoming just this tiny speck, this little dark speck in the air,
roughly the size of a dime.
And that's it. She waits.
No, no, no.
I can't be too soon. Please!
Please. Please. Please.
And she kind of falls to her knees.
She's just kind of staring at this little dark speck in the air.
The writhing walls of the room kind of fall quiet again.
All the body's no longer moving.
Why do something?
You floating through the air, your flight ends.
Fuck, fuck.
You immediately plummet.
Can I cast hold person?
No.
On her?
On her?
On her?
Yes!
If you want to, she's going to paralyze her.
Oh, it just paralyzed.
I can't hold her.
It's a freezer in place.
So at that height, it's 40 feet.
You fall.
God, damn it.
3D6 points of damage.
Can I roll for Dexte acrobatics?
Maybe I can catch myself.
You know what?
Go ahead and roll acrobatics and disadvantage.
Okay.
No, we're a D20.
No, we're a D20.
There's a good.
20, 20, and 6.
Wait, it's acrobatics.
15.
15.
15, acrobatics.
You take four points of fall damage.
Oh, good.
As you slam down into the center of this.
And I'm unconscious.
You're unconscious on the ground.
That's my first time I've ever been unconscious.
I thought you were going to die.
She's still connected to a rope, though, isn't she?
Do a rope though, isn't she?
No.
No.
I took out a fancy robe.
I was going to trap the globe in a robe.
Whose turn is it?
I mean, now it's.
Can I get to her?
Can I get to her?
I'm in the middle.
You guys are up on this roof from.
Go, Pike.
Go, Pike.
I'm leap.
If you let me leap, I'm going to leap
and take an acrobatics check.
To me.
Go for it.
20.
20.
On your feet.
Park core.
I have a potion with my sister's name
written on it and it's going in her mouth.
All right.
So well, that's as far as you're on your movement right
All right.
All right.
You can kill her.
So you rush up?
I'm right there.
You told me I'm right there.
Well, that's your full movement to get them.
You can't do anything else.
So I can't do anything else.
I can't do a bonus action.
I can do nothing.
No.
Well, you can do bonus action, but it's an action defeat a potion to somebody else.
How far?
I'm throwing a knife at Lady Briarwood, which I can use a bonus action.
On the ground, you can't see her.
She's 40 feet up in a platform up there.
Like, she's completely out of your visual side.
That's fine, yeah.
You're down inside this, like,
inside this hand groove that's dug in the ground.
Fuck. All right, I'll hold.
All right, so who's up next?
Who wants to go next?
Pike!
How can I get to her?
You're up on top of the roof.
You're gonna have to lead down to get to her.
You're too far away.
It's got time.
Can I...
Actually, no, you could, I mean, you could try a spell if you want to.
Say again?
You could try a spell if you want to.
She's about 40, 50 feet from you at an angle.
Okay.
I'll do a healing word.
Okay. As you pull up your holy symbol,
begin casting the spell.
The divine energy seems to be almost pulled from your hand,
and the spell has no effect.
Why?
We're in the shitty room with the hands and friends.
I was to say, is it because I'm in this fucking room?
No.
Do you want to stay where you are?
Come on down, let's party.
I'll go next.
Okay.
Grog, you've gone up now with the rope to the top.
No.
Anybody else want to go?
I'll take a shot at Lady Briarwood since I'm up here.
Go for it.
And you're forgetting your hex damage on her, aren't?
I was, I forgot on the last one.
I remember that I forgot it.
That's 24 to hit.
That hits?
13, 14, 15.
22 points of damage.
How do you want to do this?
Whoa.
You get to kill Lady Briarwood?
Breyerwood? Do it with as little blood as possible. I'm dead. You're unconscious? I'm
unconscious. I think you're a killer. It's okay. A little late. Here comes good.
Smoke billowing from your body, the essence of this creature whispering your ear. Bad news, freshly
repaired, loaded. It's your birthright. Shhh. I'm gonna take
Oh my God. I'm going to take a shoulder shot on her right arm, and I'm going to try and cleave
her right arm right off with the shot and see if I can just leave her unconscious.
Okay. Roll damage. Or just roll damage. This is going to be a constitution saving throw for her.
She can survive this wound as the right or left arm instead. Right arm. Right arm. Right arm.
Right arm.
Not killing her.
Blast.
open, the bone exposed, the arm just spins off and clatters to the ground behind her.
With that blast, she falls backward onto the steps behind off the platform, falls off
the steps, falls out of sight behind the pillar. You don't even see where she is. She just
falls out of visual range.
I'm going to circle around to her right now.
You're not going to try to heal me?
No, no, no, you're going to heal me?
You're not going to heal me?
Yes, I am.
Fuck that, yes.
I could jump down there.
No, I'm feeding a person of my system.
Acrobatics check?
Okay.
No, it's fine, I just had to remind you.
18, okay, you land.
You only take 10 points of
Draft-eating when you're on-conjects.
Okay.
Fucking smog.
Just get that.
All right.
I'll also get...
Drink gets at the door going,
you're just trying to get in on this side.
You're so sad.
All right.
So, the person's going to scale in?
Do you want to turn anything?
I can move within 30 feet of backs.
You'd have to get on the ground to do it.
Okay, so make an aqua ballics check, yeah.
Oh, there you go.
Can I catch you guys?
23.
Okay, so you only take three points of damage in the fall.
You don't fall prone.
Okay.
So the going full movement from there, you can get there, Grog.
Full movement.
Where are you going?
I'd like to go to the Vex.
Okay, that'll get you right there with just your movement and then Kila.
I'm going for the black thing.
I put the potion in my sister's mouth.
You have to go around and go up these steps to get to it.
So full double movement.
Full double movement.
That'll put you about solution.
All right.
You take POPPon.
You pop off the vial, you go and pop it into her mouth, take the vial away.
It doesn't appear to be any effect.
Oh my God.
With no talk of death saves at all?
Get her out of the room.
Get her out of the room.
Get out of the room.
Get out of the room.
No magic works.
No magic works.
Give me out of here.
How do we get out of our...
Kieleth, we need Binds.
Eleven. That's a success.
You're okay for now.
Fuck that bitch.
We need to get my sister out of this room.
Kila, can we use Binds?
What can we use to get my sister?
run to this room now.
Where's the road?
I'll take her up and start running towards the door at the back of the room.
What doors open?
Neither.
Neither do you get her up and out.
We've got to get her up and out.
What are the doors look like?
You can't tell from here.
You're too far and the doors are on this side and this side and they were closed.
Percival do you have a rope?
She has the rope.
I pull the rope out from my sister's side and I start last one and I got to
fuck that.
Throw it up to Percival.
Okay.
I grab it.
It takes a couple tries, but you managed to get up to the 40 foot top there.
I'm making another death saving throw.
All right, I'm tying it to my sister right now.
Come on.
No, no.
Fail.
I've tied it around my sister.
Okay.
Magic doesn't work.
Pike, Percy, pull.
Things that have tried, see if they have no effect.
I am going to grab the rope and I am literally going to just jump off the side and I'm going to just fling her up.
Okay.
All right.
Do it.
You might miss and hurt her.
No, she's fine.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Before you do this, have we tried?
before you do this, have we tried a healing word on her?
Yes.
I just put a potion in the mouth.
17 points of damage from the fall.
How many?
17 points for you.
I'll run to the door that's closest to us.
To get her up to the top.
Megrog, you want to have her right now?
Fight, please help her.
You got her up there.
Okay.
We gotta get her out of here, but nothing's gonna work, right?
Pull her out the door and heal her, it will work.
Okay, let me try to pull her out the door.
Is she over? Is she over?
No, you pulled her up onto the roof.
It might work on the roof.
roof. I'm not actually hand with me.
Turn on the roof?
Healing wood again.
Come on.
Okay. You pull the...
You're touching her. You're near her.
You bring up your...
How are I touching her? Cure wounds.
Okay, so you go up for cure wounds. You pull up your holy symbol. You put your hand to her.
Nothing's happening.
Fuck!
Pull her out of here!
Make another death saving throw.
Oh my God.
I'm gonna die.
You're not gonna die. You're not gonna die.
Well, save.
You're safe.
Pull her out.
Oh, God.
What are you guys doing?
I'm... Where is she?
Where is she?
She's on top of the wall here.
She's been lifted out by Grog.
I'm running at the wall and I'm trying to climb it stupidly.
Okay.
What about the climb check?
Roll athletics.
What about the little penny?
The dime.
What if we're gonna get that out of the room?
Fifteen.
You get part way up.
You're trying, climbing over bodies.
Can I throw back something real quick?
Can I toss him something?
Here, you can move up and do it, yeah.
I don't, no, before he runs that way, can I, can I, can I, can I?
I toss you the immovable rod?
He doesn't even pay attention.
He just bolts past towards the wall.
He's already out.
Never mind. I'm trying to get to this black hole.
Okay.
Whatever.
Good call.
You get up there.
I get to it.
Do you try to define intervention right now?
That's your full turn.
You want to do divine intervention?
Yeah.
Okay. Go ahead and roll.
What is that?
That's a...
Roll a D-10 and then another D-10, and let me know the numbers in succession.
12.
You are what level?
11.
Unfortunately, that just fails.
I scream at the top of my lungs.
Pull her out of here!
I'm still climbing dead bodies.
I've got a hold of the rope and I'm just like toss her off.
And I'm just trying to yell toss her off,
because that way we'll see if we can counterweight her back down.
I'm at the top so we can gently get her down, yeah.
I can jump down with you.
Okay.
So I'll jump and hold on.
I'll jump and hold her.
Okay, I'll ride the rope up.
Okay, well, you're on the same side
as them jumping down now.
Yeah, but I'm holding, oh, that's right, they're not.
So they just, never mind.
You would just, they come down to meet you.
Have I reached the top?
We'll say now you've managed to climb up towards the top.
I want to pick up pike under my arm,
like a fucking football and run forward after my sister.
They're up and bolt off the side.
Once we figure around, I want to,
I mean, we're outside of the room, right?
Yeah.
Cassandra's got a healing coach.
I got a comment.
That's going to be.
Cassandra's got one too.
14 points of fall damage to you as you land,
because right now you're not carefully landing.
This is just clutching her and jumping off.
You make an acrobatics check?
It's 20.
20? Okay.
You managed to take only two damage from the fall.
Make her another death saving throw.
Believe in you.
13, good, six, save.
That's three.
And I'm planting pike, glowing ectoplasm form
right down on my sister's chest.
Can I put a cop.
Can I put a comment?
If she gets three, she goes back to one.
Are we outside of the place now?
She succeeded three times.
She succeeded twice.
You succeeded twice.
Three times?
Three times.
Three times.
Yeah.
So with that, as you're carrying her there, there's a moment where all of a sudden Vax's eyes open it.
Vex is sitting there looking around, confused, catching her breath in Grog's arms as he's like bolting down the steps of the Ziggarot.
So, he's so terrible.
Maybe we should get out of here.
Do something to that little ball.
I'm alone with a little ball, aren't I?
Okay, so I'm gonna go up to it.
Can I tell any type of magical properties from it,
just kind of from looking at it?
Make an archa chair.
Oh, that's good.
That was a 17, 19 total?
Nick Tuttle, you have no idea what this is.
You haven't seen something like this before.
You inspect it very closely, and it's literally just like the sphere
has been truncted at the size.
You look very closely, it looks like it's spinning
impossibly fast in place.
There's still in there.
I can go check on.
Spinning.
No, I'm going to go there too.
Go check on lady.
Fast.
Yeah?
OK, I'm going to turn back and go to check on lady shit at.
Okay.
Why I'm still in this room. We should get out of here.
What are the...
I'm gonna try and open the doors from that side, see if there's any way to open them.
Okay. Make a strength check.
What are the dead... the net of dead bodies doing?
Are they limp?
They're just limp. And still, like, in the tapestry arms, fallen, not moving?
Yeah, I'm with you. I'm right at with you.
Eleven.
Doors aren't budging.
Here, you take your sister. I'll go back to the doors.
Right.
I take my sister...
I go back to the numbers and try the doors.
Okay.
Strength check.
Can I try to cure wounds again on Vex?
Okay. You run up to Vex as she's, you know, in Vax's arms.
Once again, this spell slot is expended, but no magic seems to appear.
There is some sort of blockage or void of magic use in this vicinity.
Even outside of this building.
And outside of the thing?
Even outside the building.
19.
19.
Boof, the door slam open from the forest of Grog's foot.
opening the passageway inside the room.
Would my sunbeam still be up?
No, so that's passed from now.
Can I make my way over to Scamland to go check on Lady Browardwood?
Sure. You eventually make your way there at a full run.
You run around the corner, you can see her.
She is on the ground, unconscious,
sitting in this kind of carved hand symbol in the ground.
You want this girl alive for some reason?
You just need to get her out of there.
I don't think you can't move.
Or I'm way for three-year-old tall.
We gotta figure out what we're doing with the little black ball
of universal death.
Let's get to out of that.
Let's just get us out of here.
Do we just leave it?
No.
Can you put it in a vial?
Put it in a vial.
Put it in a cut.
I pull out a piece of that green glass
that we took from before.
Okay.
Okay.
That's smart.
Give it a poke.
I'm jam it into it.
Okay.
Oh, God.
Oh, God.
Oh, God.
Just hit the black hole.
Make a strength saving throw.
Whoa!
It's a natural 20.
As you take the glass and jam it in there, the glass in what seems almost slow-mo seems to crackle and shatter, like brittle stone,
and then immediately just vanish into the darkness.
As your hand gets to that point of no resistance, you feel this immediate, extremely strong suction begin to pull
towards your hand and you yank back with all your might, suffering 18 points of damage
as you pull away from this small spinning orb.
So maybe don't do, we don't touch the orb anymore.
Don't touch the orb.
Nothing happened to it?
Still just.
Still just sitting there.
Just a little speck in space.
Let's go.
I grab.
We're not leaving this thing.
What do you mean we're not leaving this thing?
What are we gonna do to it?
It's indestructible.
We're gonna hit it with a baseball man?
We're obviously not equipped.
I'll grab Lady Briarwood and drag her out of the room towards the doors.
Okay.
Wait, what's that?
The horn of...
Orcus?
Orcus. Can that counter?
I don't know.
We don't have that.
We don't want to put the two bad things together?
Yeah, maybe that's like a good thing.
Oh.
Do negatives make a positive?
That's what I say to all my women.
I don't know what's going on, but I don't know what's going on, but I'm a good thing.
what's going on but I've got her in I'm I'm hugging her behind and turning my
back towards whatever is in that room I don't know what's going on okay I can try
and tear this whole building down I still have my elemental shape I can go earth
elemental and start ripping this thing apart like the pharaohs of old sure why not
let's get out of here do you want to take Briarwood with us a barrier in the rubble
We can't kill her here.
We can't leave.
I'm afraid of what more blood will do to that thing.
She kept talking about a sacrifice.
Yeah, I don't think we should kill her around that.
Think she was going to jump into that orb?
She was going to get it.
She bled on it.
I think she understood she had to give a light on it.
I think something was going to come through that or.
Let's drag her out of here.
Pursy you can shoot her in the head 100 yards from here.
And then you can bury it once we're out of the way.
Okay.
I drag her out of the room and towards the south.
Okay.
As you're holding her in your arms, you guys,
what's everyone doing?
Everyone get out.
I'm picking up my sister and lurching after Grog.
I'm picking you up and I'm lurching after Grog.
So as Grog rushes down, the steps of the Ziggurat
clutching the unconscious and bleeding body
of Lady Delilah Briarwood.
Cassandra is still tied up, by the way.
Vax rushing behind carrying the barely conscious,
limp body of Vexalia, the rest of you guys racing out you,
you're hand bled from the terrible force of whatever that was.
You go charging down the steps of the Ziggurat.
Is anyone taking Cassandra?
Cassandra.
Are you leaving her behind?
I'm taking Cassandra.
Reach over and pick up Cassandra,
give you up your shoulder, and you begin racing down
the front of the Ziggurat steps.
Why am I tearing this place down?
Not somewhere out of here.
I'll stay behind.
Stay behind?
Yeah.
You have to be there to do it?
Being an earth elemental and ripping it apart.
Doing it physically.
Well, let's all get to the point where it's not going to cloud on.
I've got an idea. Why don't we just open up the acid and let it pour down in there?
Where is that?
That's so far away.
We have to go that way anyway.
Once we get there, let's just open the spigot, point it towards the doors, and let them do its work.
I don't know if that's enough acid to take down this.
Better than nothing.
Might as well try it.
Do we have any acid?
You have acid.
There's like three little acid vials.
No, we go acid from a tube.
Why don't we just seal up the hole and get out of here?
Get out of it.
here.
Elith, it's a good idea.
Destroy the temple.
I don't know if that truth-
Follow us.
What's that gonna do?
What's that gonna do?
Do we want to leave a spinning black hole of death under the city?
No, it could just swallow the entire city and everybody could die.
This is kind of my problem at the moment.
You guys go. I'm gonna tear it down. I'll be okay. I'll meet you, I'll meet you there.
No.
She can earth shape.
I'll be okay.
She'll be fine.
Uh, yeah.
I push my sister into Grog's massive arms because he can hold fucking five people,
and I start running back towards the tinct, the ziggurat.
I'm laying on top of Lady Briarwood right now.
Yes, yes, you are.
Great.
Seventy percent of her, at the very least.
I stand at the top of the temple, and I wait to see them go out of range.
Okay.
They all begin to step down the bottom of the stairs except for the backseat.
It begins running back up the stairs towards you.
Vax. Go. No. No. Go.
Whatever you're gonna do, just fucking do it. Do it.
I concentrate for a minute and I just go into the ground.
As you focus your attention towards your earth and core
in triggering the transformation effect, nothing happens.
Magic, it kills all magic. Even B-shape?
It's a magical transformation.
transformation.
So she didn't go.
Let's get out of here.
Never mind.
Run.
Fucking run.
We all leave.
Can you try pouring acid on the thing?
I'm going to do it once we're out.
We're just going to go.
As box mocking in charges down the front of the steps of the ziggurat, we'll call that for the night.
