Vox Machina, after spending the better part of the number of months traversing the prime material plane and planes beyond in search of ancient relics known as the vestiges of divergence, they finally increased their abilities, they've made allies, and they've begun their trek to tear down the collection of evil chromatic dragons known as the Chroma Conclave that destroyed your city of Amman and took over most of the continent of Tal'Dorei and beyond.

You've defeated and you've slain three members of the conclave allied with a fourth, and you've made your way along with an army combined with the powers of Fort Daxio and Singorn to the central city of Amman, utilizing aid from the Ashari people to cover the skies as the armies began to assault the outer walls, you along with Zara, Kashaa, Jared, Gilmore. Randy. The whole party. Everybody's there, chema. Pretty Spears, insane. My other brother.

Drake, staying back with the army to help them with the assault. You guys made your way underneath, through the sewer system, made a brief alliance with some Weward Clasp who led you to the center of town with the volcanic essence of Thorax, mutated draconic form has been pulling volcanic activity up beneath the city. You climbed out on top, and there at the walled gates to the central cloud top district,

which Thorac now calls his home and his layer, you saw two fire giants guarding the entrance. Keshaw and Zara in a heroic display bound the giants to place and decided to take care of them while you rushed into the fray, bursting through the door due to the strength of your Titan-Grip, Titanstone gauntlets. You rushed into the cloud smoke and ember-filled cloud top district ruins, jumping from ruined building to wreck of rubble and stone. The air itself is dense with black and dark fume. It's hard to see anything. And you all kind of carefully, gingerly, stealthily, made your way into the alcove of one ruined building, where across the way you see a giant raised central cavern, a hole. a burrow, if you will, that is close to 40 feet across. Apparently your approach was somewhat sensed by the Red Dragon himself as you watch Thorac

emerge from this burrow and climb out, saying to itself, It appears we have visitors. So, as Ashley, unfortunately, cannot be with us, Pikes, Control and Duty will be taken care by the twins for the evening. You guys would be dual cleric-ing tonight. We're Yeagering. Yeah. So, at this point in time, as you guys are all keeping

as still and as quite as you can while kind of figuring out your circumstances, you can hear the low growling voice of Thorac as he begins to scan the vicinity. Potions? Potions. Potions. Good idea. Good idea. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Take fire resistance. Who's just fire resistance?

Fire resistance. Fire resistance. Am I able to make a jello shot of invulnerability and haste at the same time? But you only last for like... One minute? One minute each? Don't do it. Maybe you just want to talk.

Wait, just wait for like a second. I have the other fire resistance last for a while. I passed him out, so you got him to take them. Fire resistance. Fire resistance. Okay, so we have Scanlan, Keelith, Vex, Grog, all with fire resistance. And Percy. Right. That's pretty much everyone but you, I believe, right?

Oh, but he's got the armor. So yeah, the entire party, thank God, is said to resist fire. That may help your chances here. As you guys all quietly begin to drink and figure out your circumstances. Why are you laughing? Why did you laugh? Because I was rolling Thorac's perception check to see if he noticed any of your presence as you were drinking the potions. That was the natural one. Wow, just drinking a potion would make him notice us.

I guess I'll go back to sleep. I know. He's still scanning and he's still like, We can sense you here. When you hear. I cast pass without a trace on all of us. Okay. What are the components for that spells? Let's take a look here.

It can't be vocal because it's a mechalekaheim. That's right. Oh, no, it's verbal. Yep. No, I don't do that. I don't know what those things mean. You better get your shit in gear. It's a whist.

So as you guys are all quietly huddled over in this kind of broken space there, Vex'aulay begins to do her incantation beneath her breath, and you feel the shadows cling to you. You hear in the distance, I just want to pee on myself and run. He is currently moved out to this area.

We all have advantage on wisdom. You do indeed. And an extra hip point. Alrighty. So, with that, beginning of the round, the very top, Percival. You glance from the corner and you see while sifting through the large columns of the smoke, that are billowing off of each one of these destroyed burning buildings.

You see the gargantuan form of Thorac and just looks right over. You see all of a sudden as his eyes pass in your direction, almost like a cat caught in a light beam, as his eyes just flare up in bright white light as it sees your presence. Okay. What do you say? It's coming. Is there a room, can I get even vaguely a shot in that room? From here, I think.

His size, you could get a shot if he moved a little bit. I'll move a little bit. Jump between these folks there. I have spider climb on right now, so actually I'll climb up on the wall. The wall there? And then climb back down when I'm done. Okay. Yeah, I'm going to, yeah, ignore that.

I've been drinking. That's King Kong. I'm going to take a, first of all, I'm going to cast hex on him, because that's really going to make a difference. No, it is. Stay positive. What kind of checks should I, I'm gonna down him for a...

All right, so you go, as you climb up at the top, you slam bad news over the top of the stonework, and as soon as the barrel catches a little bit of the light through the smoke, you watch as Thorax's face, whips over your direction, the first shot, smashes across the crest in the front of the dragon's face. You see the sparks flying bits of flame kind of red crystal get shattered in the distance. The head spins back towards you, and immediately you start shaking, and you fire the second shot

and just ricochets off of its angry, thick hide, and you immediately duck back behind the wall. I'm regretting so many things right now. Not you. Hogan. I shouldn't avoid my family. It leaves the dragons. In all of your focus and all of your attention into the arrival and the crawl into this in Thorac, none of you noticed that Larkin is not with you. No surprise there. Keelith, you're up.

Piece of shit. Piece of shit. Okay. I don't know what to do here. Attack and kill the drive. What are we trying to do? Do we have a plan? Should I try and burn a big spell?

Do whatever to do. Can you do it every shot? Okay. We've been practicing for this our whole lives. Oh, hey. As sad as that is. Okay, before I do something crazy, based off of Percy, just saying that I turned a vex and I go,

You watch, I was like a final fact. as the smoke is instantly replaced with steam in the vicinity, completely filling the area with fog, as this giant wall of water is just conjured out of the broken, cracked, dry earth. Shmiggins curling over towards Thorac's front side. All right, so strength-saving throw. Wait, any huge or smaller creature? Uh-oh.

Is he not-gargantial water rushing to the tunnel too? Gargantzman. He is bigger than huge. So he doesn't have any effect on it? He's bigger than huge. He's he bigger than 300 feet? Yeah, he's not bigger than 300 feet, is he? Yeah, man, you've ever been hurt to K. Harbour, those waves hurt you?

It's big, but the sheer mass size you watch as the tidal wave smashes into Thorac and just splits and falls around him, no effect. His form is too big for... The water just crashes against him. He's too big for it to actually have an impact on him. Are there any fires left burning in the vicinity? Actually, this fire is out now. He doesn't take it.

You're like water damage, nothing? This fires out. Does the tunnel flood? This fire is out. And water pills down into the tunnel, and you watch a bunch of steam just rides out of it. Well, it's also a six-round spell,

and he's supposed to get stuck in it. He doesn't, nothing, no. He doesn't even get damaged at all, though? Does he question his choices in life? Because I'm questioning mine. Is it like a cat who gets wet? It says any huge or smaller creature inside the wall has to make a saving throw or take damage.

Creature caught in the wall can move. But yeah, it only seems to have an effect on... Holy shit. That was a valiant effort. I was with you. Hey, eighth level spell. Oh, God. You've got tons of eighth level spells.

You'll be fine. This is out as well. But hey, eighth level spell, did you just say that to me? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. Uh-huh. We're fine. We're fine.

This is fine. Next. This is fine. No problem. Next. Back behind the wall if you were you. So, Keyliff, do you want to use the rest of your movement? Don't get back behind the fucking wall.

Don't get back behind the wall. We're all bunched up. Yeah, seriously, run. Go somewhere else. Statter. There's three scatter. I know how painful this is right now, Keyleth, but it looked really cool.

Just run. But our pores are cleared. Yeah, I feel like. I would, I, I would, I, the wall will at least take some damage at this point. There's, and most things he's going to do, it's just going to be a giant area effect anyway that you're not going to be able to outrun.

So, no, it does affect them the first round. It does not? It does. Just on the first round, though? But still, that's something. Each of the turns after then, and yeah, so basically has to get smaller, it affects less and less creatures. So sorry, I just scroll past that one.

It still has to try and make an athletic check against your spell DC to move at all, but it doesn't take any additional damage. All right, I'll take that. As the blade plunges into Thorax now kind of slawing and soft flesh exposed through a series of wounds and gashes left behind by your allies in this form, just slowly shriveling into its diminutive space. The dagger cuts cleanly through, and with that force, you go all the way up to the shoulder as you reach inside.

As you finish saying your phrase, your eyes kind of narrow and you clench your teeth, and as you pull back and yank, there's this strange series of low whispers there. Into your ears, and as you pull back, you watch as these bits of grayish energy begin to pour out of the air, kind of coalescing around the blades, fitting into the body where you're currently plunged within. As you yank outward, you watch as the blade almost has an extended edge, about 10, 15 feet beyond Whispers, actual, and his play that just leaves a giant wound on the side of Thoradac's body. You don't even hear an exclamation of pain as Thorac just slowly slams into the ground of this low, barely glowing tunnel. Roll in acrobatics

Ryshan just tore into this Lizard Man. We have a fire giant that is unscathed currently, burying down on the rest of the party, and a Wyvern writer back around this wall section here. Hey, Byrne. So. Blavard. Blah. That being the case, the end of that turn there. First up is Lady Keenan.

She is pissed that she has had a chance to really do anything. The night against flying dragons. There's a big fire giant. That's what she's gonna do. Yeah, she has a hard time. Come on, Avengers. Paladans that don't fly and have haste have a hard time getting around. Yeah.

Just so you know. Multicay. Prestage. What? Watching this giant wail upon Percy, Mrs. Roberts, she kind of like cracks her neck. You're first. And she leaps down.

Open him up. And she's going to go ahead and multi-attack against him. That is, love that hits. And the other also hits. Even with the minus five on each for her great weapon master. She's also going to divine smite on that at level three. Yeah, get it. Crack out.

So, Chiquablau. First strike is it's 8, 6, it's 14, plus 10, 24. Prashada is taken. Plus 11, 35. 42 points of damage on our first strike against the giant. Boom!

And the second strike is 8 plus 6, 14 plus 10, 24. Another 24 points of damage. He doesn't want me. So that fire dry has already taken him. A big chunk out of him as Kima just rushes up and double strikes with her Holy Avenger. The one cleaving off a piece of his armor. The second one is it cuts through, leaving a giant flash of divine energy as it kind of bursts out the side.

I am now going to start making my way to the, I'm going to start running my way to the pit. That with a little movement I have, because I got up. Okay. Thank you.

All right, that ends up on the person's turn. At top of the round, the layer action is do not function. However, you watch as the Sky Ship Dira is like still rotating around. There's still Wyverns attacking. You hear the distant sounds of lightning cracks as well, and you hear very, very distantly what sounds like What sounds like a... Sorry, internet.

Like a caffony of voices. Because there's no other word to describe it. Hundreds and hundreds of voices all shouting combat war cries simultaneously. You have no idea how far away it is. It's very, very faint. You just pick it up. You hear the sound of impacts of crumbling stone in the distance.

There is a battle happening all throughout the city that is slowly making its way towards your current location. DER's turn around and is going to take two shots at Reishon because it's going to fire it whenever dragons are there. Damien was not notified of anything otherwise. You know what? If Reishon gets his shit gets hit. No, it does not hit. Hazards of being a dragon. She gets three attacks because three eights in a row. Wow. That's ridiculous. We had four months over here. Yeah, that's not a three. That's mathematically absurd.

You guys, as you're kind of having this moment hugging each other, you hear the ground shakes nearby as just as you turn and see, you watch as Reich shun skids to a halt right next to you and the currently smashed corpse of Thoradak within the tunnel. Can I stay over like a headpiece thing? You're like, twins, if you're still alive, I think Rishon's coming in your direction.

Thanks for that. Rishan is just watching both of you as she begins to walk towards Thornax corpse and goes, Yeah, what now? Every six seconds we get to move. Yeah, we're heading ass. Booking. Hulling ass that way.

Booking with my spider lock. running around, running down the ceiling upside down. Not me, I'm putting out that last fire. Stop, stop, stop, stop. This Vient volunteer fire department. Hey, uh, 80 foot flying. Kee-Kee-Kee, what are you thinking? This wyvern swoops in.

Oh, there's a fucking wyvern. Yep. Keyleth. One that was left earlier that was after you. Just swoop an attempt to make two strikes at Kima, Miss. We're heading your way. And three, miss.

And the writer's gonna go ahead and make two strikes at her as well. Miss, 17. What for? And two. Kim is just like, deflecting, getting into the wall as the spear shoots fine as the blade comes down from the rider, she strikes up with the sword and stops the mid-layer and starts laughing his face. Well, that's, all three of your attacks will take to take out the wyver. Hey, oh, cool. So you just finished cleaning the wyver, now it falls over, and the lizard man's like,

Okay. You just have Rishon just like, stepping over to Thorac's body, just watching you closely. What are you doing? Exactly what we talked about, learning his secret. I'm going to keep my hand ready to attack.

attack and hold my action until anything gets aggressive with Reishon. Okay. What do you see down there? What's happening? What's in the room? Vodak is dead. What's in the room? Oh, what do I see around me? The tunnel that you're in, it's been a steady decline. It's rounded off a little bit, and it begins to open up maybe 70 feet ahead of you. Actually, with your dark vision, you would just barely start to see it begin to open. It looks like there's an actual chamber ahead of all of you guys, but you haven't reached it yet.

The shitter. I'm going to, okay, I'm going to use my movement to back away from Ryshan towards the chamber. Okay. But I'm going to hold my attack until I think it's aggressive. Okay. So as you move in, you can see there's a very, very faint glow of orange and red in the room. And the whole tunnel here just have a very, very, very concentrated, natural burning chemical smell to it. A lot of, like, sulfur-type, very putrid or pungent smells.

And the glow you can now see, there is a lot of... lava flow that is coalescing in the center of this room, or at least it's pouring through, and it looks like it's bisecting this room. You don't make out much more detail than that at this distance, but you do see this chamber does have an actual flow of liquid rock. Okay. Um, facts. Keelith, you tell me. What's her going on? What's she, what's she doing?

You tell me. What's you, just describe the scene. Hit or wait? Wait, wait, wait down there. Wait till I'm there. Wait till I'm there. She said, I'm going to hold my turn until Kielov act. Okay.

Pike, Scanlan, you guys all follow suit? Yeah. Okay, at a full run, you guys can get, at your tiny feet, you can get kind of up towards the edge there. I'm a full run on the roof. You get up there inside. Ryshan comes up to the roof. up to the body of Thor Dach and you see that she kind of reaches up under one of her scales and pulls out what looks like a small leather case. Pops open the case. Don't let him touch him. And kind of sits back and pulls open what looks to be a somewhat weathered scroll. Oh. And just starts reading off a bit. He lost to know. Oh no, what is this? No, no, no, no, no, no.

Attack, I'm attacking. She acted, she said don't touch. I said, I'll base it off Akila, so I'm attacking. I'm going to interrupt that. Don't you want to see what happens? No. Okay, hold on. You say attack based on, because you don't see this yet.

You can't see it. I said, don't let her. She's reading that scroll, man. She hasn't touched him yet. But you're attacking on your own instinct. on your own instinct. If I've heard, don't let her touch him and she's doing that, those two things mean the same thing to me.

So as both taggers can, you watch as the, as it's muttering from the scroll, not both of her eyes, but one of the eyes kind of turns over and face you. Like a chameleon. Yeah. And kind of narrows. the scroll finishes and turns to ash. And similar to something you've seen before,

you watch as Thorax corpse, which is currently buried into the rock with a face to the side. The breath kind of filters into the mouth. The body's still motionless. You recognize this similar or adjacent magic magic to the Speak with the Dead and seen Pike do it. Yes.

Just trying to ask a question back. I don't. I don't. Jesus. You're not here. Um, so as soon as that finishes, Reishon, the other eye flickers over, now both eyes are on you and says, Maybe I will too, but you are going to die.

Um, okay. Um. We're men of our word. We're men of honor. Ryshan is going to... She did attack our home. I'm not saying she's great. I think we're fast.

Oh boy. This... She's dumped the chump. I'm trying to see what her reaction is going to be. Stalk at our close. Oh, okay. No, all right. She feels comfortable with that.

She goes, plain me. And just steps away from Thorac with one big push of the wing. One big push of the wings turns around and coasts into the chamber beyond you. Out of sight. Beyond, you can see her form kind of disappear into the darkness. There's a little bit of an orange glow in there.

But given that circumstance, yeah, she disappears into the shadows. Should I have taken my shots when things got aggressive? So she's coming towards us. No. No, she's going the opposite. Even deeper. Even deeper.

I mean. Great. Did that look aggressive? Uh, she flew away from your brother. But your brother did throw three daggers into her. Did she ask her- And said that she was gonna die? Did she ask her questions of Thoradar? Nope. Nope. Nope.

Nope. It might not have been the same fucking spell. It could have been something like it. He said it looked very soon. It's, it's adjacent, he said. I'm sure she was just gonna ask about cooking recipes. It's fine. So what are you here? Are you attack or not?

You want you whether throw three daggers into Rishon and tell that she's going to die, and then Ryshawn basically abandoned Thorac's body. Come and claim me and flew toward me. I felt it. You guys, first thing you notice as you glance around is there are some kind of alcobs inside. the lobes inside this chamber where the rock formations kind of pull inward. And you see kind of set into the stone and the various bits of fallen rock and earth, a handful, somewhat spread out throughout the room, a handful of large, nine-foot tall, dark, deep crimson red, with crystalline elements to the outside, ovoid structures. Oh, shit. Ovoid.

These are what appear to be some sort of a larger than normal elementally altered dragon egg. Oh, fuck. Five of them in the chamber. Babies. Five dragon babies? Bebees.

Little babies. I don't know that babies. Time for a Cajun omelet. A little spicy. A little jerk spice. Can I look back at Thorac? What does it look like? I know that Reishon, like, made him do that.

Does it look like there's anything around him, or is he just dead dead? He's ways back. If you want to try and move back to him, you can. But with your high perception, you glance up and see in the ceiling portion of this chamber where there are a number of these kind of small caverns that are pressed from the side. you see out of the top just the slight peeking of Ryshan's face, kind of looking down into the chamber above you. Oh. And you watch as the teeth, there's something muttering in the mouth and the teeth grin,

as the ceiling of the room you watch distortion in the air above you. And almost like these small portals kind of... Oh, no. Open. And come flying out of them, you see four... four large flaming rocks. Door dyes. Rocks. Rocks. These are massive, fiery meteorite-like boulders that come firing out of the ceiling of the room. Slaming into the ground around you, exploding and a massive explosions, rocking you. All you see is white and ream in your ears as your bodies are thrown from explosion to explosion. I need the three of you.

Invasion. To make dexterity saving thrones. Does it go. 25. I rolled a natural 19. So 22? 29. Wow. Nice.

That's really good rolling. All right, you guys take half damage. You are going at the lottery. Well, here, let's do the first part. So there's the fire damage. Okay. Which is 20 D6. What did we have to beat?

Both of you take 63 points of fire damage. Halved. Halved to 31. Okay. And then you each take 70 points of bludgeoning damage. Oh! Oh! That's 130-something total points.

Oh! As these flaming arcane meteors crash into... crash into the ground, detonating and destroying a portion of the cavern floor. Lava spatters everywhere. And you watch, as you duck out of the way, as... Keelith, what your hit points at? I'm actually still up at what's 101 minus 11? 18. 18 points. 18 points to that. You watch as your sister is thrown, her body unconscious, flung in the air like.

a rag doll as it scatters to one end of the cavern. You can see the volcanic activity kind of billowing up from the recent shaking of the room, as bits of the molten rock are being flung across as the green dragon face kind of withdraws within the cave. And I think that's where we're going to pick up next year. It's 1122 guys. We have to wait in 2017. I have to fight this mother fire. I'm for sure dead.
