Once upon a time, a group of curious storytellers breathed life into epic tales set in the wide fantasy world of Exandria.

into the story.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to tonight's episode of Critical Role, where a bunch of
us nerdy-ass voice actors sit around and play Dungeons & Dragons.
We play Dungeons & Dragons!
We ride!
Yes, indeed. To that point, we drive, we ride! Yes, indeed.
To that point, we have some quick announcements
to get through, beginning with our first sponsor, Backblaze.
Sam?
Nope.
Do you want to love someone unconditionally,
feed and care for them,
and receive absolutely no affection in return?
I do.
We're going to get along just fine, because I'm a cat.
I'm a cat, which means I don't care for people, places, things, other cats.
In fact, existence itself is kind of meh.
But one thing I do enjoy are our old friends at Backplace.
God.
Backing up and accessing your digital data astonishingly easy
with unlimited computer backup
for Macs and PCs.
Wow.
I made it.
Your computer stores very important files and photos,
which mean nothing to me.
Nope.
I will happily chew the wires
of your expensive machine, ruining it forever.
Do I do this out of spite?
Of course, I'm a cat.
No. No.
Sam. Please, no.
No. No!
No!
No!
Oh god.
What?
But for just $7 a month,
you can access your backed up files on the go
with Backblaze's iOS.
Access?
Access.
With Backblaze's iOS. Excess? Excess. With Backblaze's iOS
and Android apps. And if you ever
need to restore, you can get a flash key
or hard drive with all of your data
shipped right to my door.
Oops, I meant your door.
I guess technically you live here too.
But we both know it's really
mine. Meow.
Backblaze has restored over 55 billion files
for their customers, which makes it obviously
why they're recommended by the New York Times,
Macworld, Tom's Guide, and many more publications
that I will destroy with urine.
Oh no.
My five favorite things are me, sleep,
fish bones, and throwing shade.
You might notice that math was not on the list,
and neither were you, because I'm a cat.
You can get a 15-day, no credit card required,
free trial right now at backblaze.com slash Critical Role.
Oh, this?
I pooped in this.
But I won't tell you where.
You just have to dig around for it
because that's your life now.
You're a poop archaeologist.
And me?
I'm a cat.
Thanks to Backblaze for continuing to support the show.
Matt, cat to you.
Oh no.
It's my favorite. It's our favorite.
It's my favorite.
I can't believe you write this shit.
It's so accurate. It's my favorite.
I don't like any of that.
Oh god.
Yeah.
Oh god.
It's hard.
Hey!
No.
Oh god, he's in heat.
Oh god.
Okay.
Get your hairball off the tape.
Oh boy. You're going to be a burger winner. All right, ball off the table. Oh boy.
All right, well, thank you for enduring that.
Thank you, Sam.
Thank you, Backblaze.
Sorry, Backblaze.
Laura, you got something else you want us to talk about?
I love going after that.
First of all,
let's just wipe the slate clean with our very first.
No, get it. It's too big.
No, not right now, Sam!
I'm going to do something so cool!
What is that?
Get it off the table!
It's my urine.
No!
I'm just going to not talk until you get it off your feet.
But it's real cool.
Get it off the table!
No.
Here, just get it.
Oh, I want this.
Oh god.
You don't want those two things associated? Travis has as close as you've ever gotten to something like that. Oh god. You don't want those two things associated?
Travis has as close as you've ever gotten
to something like that.
Right there.
I'm so excited about this.
Don't ruin things because you're a cat.
That's my job.
We partnered with HipDot.
Yeah! Yeah!
Our very first makeup collection.
Yes!
Turn in the makeup.
That looks like a box!
And the Mighty Nein Collection features stunning art
by Will Kirkby and Huynh Nguyen,
with a design that takes inspiration from
the Fletching and Hoon Drop card.
Hey!
Check it out.
But there's more.
There's lipsticks, there's highlighter,
there's this amazing eyeshadow palette.
It's all embossed.
Each product is also completely clean and vegan.
Seriously though, it's amazing. It's gorgeous. I'm obsessed.
Pre-orders will be open for 12 days, starting today.
So check it out right now,
hipdot.com slash Critical Role. So I had to test
out this stuff when we were figuring it
out and I am obsessed with this
metal lipstick color so I'm going to be ordering
a couple of these sets so I don't run out
of this one. Okay. I'm obsessed.
I've waited for this for so long.
It's so pretty. The inside
is amazing. You got to see it up close.
Go to the website. Check it out up close because the embossing
on it is just so beautiful.
It's got our characters' faces.
We've been working on it for such a long time.
It's one of the most amazing box-makeup boxes
I have ever seen.
It's so pretty.
So, yeah, you guys.
It's so pretty.
Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
I'll move on, because I've got other things to announce still.
I want to put a bow. Samuel! Okay, okay, okay. I'll move on, because I've got other things to announce still. Okay.
Samuel!
This really is the cat experience, isn't it?
We have a pate.
It's a pate!
It's a pate!
Hanger plush.
Look at me.
Sweet little dead guy. Marisha.
I haven't seen him yet!
Oh my god!
He looks horrific!
What?
Look at his tail!
He's got a little rat tail!
He's got your little scissors as a charm.
Oh my god.
That's so cute.
That is really cute.
No, no, no!
Not for you, not for me!
Cat, cat, cat.
In addition to that, we have, finally.
The tail you can contort into different pieces.
Oh, it's so cute!
Oh my goodness.
We have our TV pins of the Bell's House out now.
Artist Jenny Park smashed it again.
Check it out.
I think it's one of my favorites
because his little wheel moves.
It moves? His little spinny wheel?
It's a spinny wheel.
So we've got Laudna.
We've got Ashton.
We've got Sir Bertrand. we've got Chetney,
and we got Lil' Amy.
This is so weird.
Oh yeah, Epstein came back.
Oh my god, Ashton.
Oh my god, so spiky.
Obviously your character and your character's already out.
They're first out of the gate.
Oh my god, look at you.
And then, in addition to that, it's just a day.
We have one of our, yes, okay, good.
So much cool shit.
Oh my god!
Sleeveless hooded cardigan.
Sleeves are bullshit!
I'm gonna wear that every day!
I know, we have that!
We totally got it when we were designing it.
This is designed by Adrian Heldren.
It's so hard to find good sleeveless vests.
Turn around so we can see the back.
Damn. Kneel down a little bit.
Squat. It's all bow-tastic.
Don't stand up.
I didn't even know we were doing this.
It's a cobalt sole.
Give us some shadow boxing.
There's a medium. Do you want some shadow boxing?
Yes, I do!
I will wear it. There it is.
I can post it on right now.
Amazing.
The hood is so great.
It's so cozy.
There's pockets.
Yeah, there's pockets. For bacon.
For your bacon. This matters.
Yeah, for pocket bacon.
You might want to put it in a Ziploc.
Isn't he so cute?
The image with the blue. The rocking horse.
I know!
So yeah, go check it out.
Go to our stores.
Go look at all this stuff.
I'm so proud of it.
Okay.
Yay!
That was a good one!
Lord of the Lighting.
That was so fucking sexy on that.
Ah, so good.
This is awesome.
We have a Houston one.
Yeah, yeah. Oh, I'm sorry.
I guess that concludes our announcements.
No!
Got a little distracted there.
So I believe that does bring us to tonight's episode of
Picking Your House.
Critical Role. Till we reach the top, two by two we fall. Will we meet our end or meet our destiny?
Hold your breath and roll.
How do you want to do this?
It's Thursday night.
All ye critters come join us.
It's time to continue our flight.
There is magic and mystery
Who knows what will happen
He might
But one thing's for sure
We never give up
on the fight
From the healer

We all share the same goal
Adding more allies Taking more chances To the renegade, we all share the same goal.
Adding more allies, taking more chances.
Hold your breath and roll.
You can certainly try.
It's Thursday night.
All ye critters, come join us. It's time to continue our fight.
There is magic and mystery from darkness.
Our friendship.
One thing's for sure.
We never give up on the fight.
Oh,
get ready.
It's Thursday night. night and welcome back
so
last we left off Bell's Hells
after learning about some odd
kooky things surrounding the moon
Ruedas
some odd kooky things surrounding the moon Ruidus. Some odd kooky things.
Kooky.
An odd vision of something structural and massive
on one part of the surface of the red moon,
as well as elements of Fearne's history
that seems to tether her to being born beneath
this same red moon many, many years ago.
After learning some of this bit of information,
watching Ira Wendigoth vanish into the ether
for whatever he has planned,
Implaudit, you returned to Bassuras,
being dropped off by Birdie Calloway,
who returned to the Hideaway,
and began to figure out
how best to handle the day before you looked into Treshi.
You went to Imahara Joe's place
to inspect what may have caused this strange bit of violence
that came from FCG.
Couldn't quite pinpoint any reasoning for it.
Learned a bit about the physiology of this Aeormaton
that you had with you,
as well as a bit of possible history
that may have a connection.
Then went over to check out the Seat of Disdain,
where the faction, the crawler faction within the city
of the Paragon's Call that seems to be highly involved
in both the business of this fugitive Treshi,
as well as some of the things going on around Otohan,
the Paragon's Call group leader,
and an individual that they've been seen with
many years ago, and a lot of the business in Jrusar as well.
You pass by Artanavo, who you met once before,
a bounty hunter in Jrusar,
who seems to have made a trek out here
around the same time.
You went and introduced yourself
as new members of the Paragon's Call
after proving yourself in the Deathwish Run.
They brought you in, showed you your quarters
and your barracks, gave you a tour of the place,
but while keeping a close eye on you as you did so.
About the time this happened,
the distant darkened dust and sandstorm
that was slowly encroaching began to overtake the town
as everyone battened down the hatches
and sought to wait it out.
During this time, you found that Treshi
was indeed being kept in the Seat of Disdain
in the basement, the locked away basement,
within a cell, a prison cell that had been outfitted
to be almost like a guest quarters,
but still definitely a cell.
After Chetney had done a search
and information-gathering mission,
and a few of you also went and gathered the ring
that you could track with from the local jeweler
in the middle of the storm,
you began to figure out how to handle
this possible capture of Treshi
when you began to hear commotion and shouts and yells.
As you went and followed them out to the front,
the doors to the Seat of Disdain were open,
the sandstorm blasting by
as you heard people shouting, yelling,
and what sounded like explosions and fiery impacts
as one member of the call hits the ground in front of you,
covered in burns.
And that's where we pick up, here in the midst of this chaos.
Who's doing what?
Sir.
Does it look like,
can we tell who's attacking?
You can make a perception check.
Do we run outside? With disadvantage,
because everything here is
lightly obscured in the storm.
Is it in the door opening?
Ooh!
Roll again.
That's a way to start a problem.
And that's a three.
Oh!
Well, I might straight roll.
Is this disadvantage?
He said because it's so cloudy, or so dusty.
The dust storm.
22, I rolled once.
That's all right, because you have advantage normally.
Glancing about, you see about a dozen or so members
of the Paragon's Call, both on or around the ground here,
some injured, some fighting,
and you see a handful of other figures
that are along the wall,
barely seeing the shadow,
they're ducking down and up.
And another explosion rocks the side of the Mammoth Crawler.
You can see now this detonation
gives a flash of light and flame
before bits and pieces of wood start flying down,
as well as what looks to be a couple of chunks of broken rock
from the masonry crates that you had set up there.
One of the heavy rocks
hits the dust maybe two feet to your left
and you just sideswipe before it impacts.
It would have probably knocked you out.
The mammoth crawler got blasted?
Mammoth crawler is being attacked.
They're going up to the lobes.
Side note, you look really good in that vest.
Yo! Thank you.
Snap, snap!
Orym.
Yeah?
You said Artanavo?
So here.
You think it's coincidence?
No!
All right.
I think we should get to Treshi.
Okay, what about the ring on that?
They're going to blow it up.
Someone's blowing it up.
That's true, we should see who's attacking, though.
A fight!
You know what, their call, two other call figures
rush by and be like, what are you doing?
Come out! And just go charging out into the storm.
What are you doing? What are you doing?
What are you doing?
This is our chance to get trashy.
Yes.
You're the only one that can pick locks.
Okay, I'm going back inside.
I run back in, I go in the hallway,
and I go back to the door.
Wait, don't you want to take someone with you?
No, it's just me! I go to, I go, I run after.
I run, too. I'm going to go plant the ring. don't you want to take someone with you? No, it's just me! I go to, I go, I run after it. I run, too.
I'm going to go plant the ring.
Talk to me.
I'll be covering you.
I'll go with you, I'll go with you.
You're with me? All right.
Get some of those crates.
Copy.
That's a Marisha thing.
Copy what?
Laudna's never said copy in her damn life.
Treshy, raise your hand. Team Treshy.
Treshy? Team Treshy?
Three. Okay, good.
Woo-hoo!
That's a big deal. Team Ring? We really planned this. What are you doing? What are you doing, FCG? Three. Okay, good! Woo-hoo! That's a big team. Team Ring?
We really planned this.
What are you doing? What are you doing, FCG?
Nope. No, we're in chaos.
It's chaos.
I'm going to stay.
They've scattered. What are you doing?
I'm going to stay where the attack is happening
so I can find out who's attacking.
Yes, yes, good, good, good.
Okay, valid, valid.
So as you push into the space now,
you see, and you glance up
and through the elements
of the sand and the fog and the heavy dust
that's blowing through these shapes
along the parapets of the walls
that surround the Seat of Disdain.
You look on the ground and can see some figures
that are lying on the ground motionless,
like some of the usual sentries that watch
have been thrown off the edge and are now unconscious
or worse on the ground outside of it.
At this point, you can see now
some of the ladders that are currently
slammed up there or maintained up there as a means
to get to it are being climbed by members
of the Paragon's Call and are firing
up with hand crossbows or throwing daggers up to
whoever's up there, but they're just being cast away
in the middle of the heavy wind and sandstorm.
But I don't see any attackers yet.
You don't see any detail. They're too far away.
You just see shapes moving along the wall.
And it looks like they're all lathering from a distance.
They're all sticking to the wall
and using the edges of it to guard themselves between impacts.
This is a full-on assault from that side.
And the wall, the protective wall, has a hole in it?
The wall does not have a hole.
They're attacking from the top of it.
It looks like they've taken one of the walls.
Oh, gotcha. Another explosion on the side, They're attacking from the top of it. Looks like they've taken one of the walls. Oh.
Gotcha.
Another explosion on the side,
and you watch as one of the large,
load-bearing mammoth legs leans to one side and lists.
A bunch of the crates and everything that got loaded
begins to shift a bit and tumble and hit the ground.
Some crates break open, some get blown off
and end up impacting against the far wall,
leaving a pile of everything that had been loaded now heavily unloaded. Any of the good shit? Take off running to the crates break open, some get blown off and end up impacting against the far wall, leaving a pile of everything that had been loaded now
heavily unloaded.
Any of the good shit?
Take off running to the crates.
Yeah, I'm running with you into the crates.
You do what I'm doing.
A mammoth crawler stand against us.
As you know, I'm taking my chisel out
and dragging it across the palm of my hand
to use a Crimson Rite.
And I'm going to cast Mirror Image on myself.
Got it.
Is there anyone of the Paragon's Call
who's injured within range of me? There's a number of them. Looks to cast Mirror Image on myself. Got it. Is there anyone of the Paragon's Call who's injured within range of me?
There's a number of them.
Looks to be five members right now,
three of which aren't moving.
They're on the ground unconscious, it looks to be,
burned or impacted from shrapnel
or elements of heavy bludgeoning damage
from the initial explosion.
Okay, I'll go up to one who looks unconscious
and I will reach out to cast Spare the Dying on him,
but I will hesitate,
because I don't know what that will do to me,
so I will not do it.
Oh.
Oh. Okay.
You don't know what that'll do.
I don't know what that'll do to me,
so I better not.
You'll start killing everyone.
All right, so you're over there
and you're in this moment,
focusing on what you may or may not do.
Can I bamf out Mister real quick?
If you'd like to. Yes.
We're going to need that hole.
Dust is striking its face.
Any crates?
Do we see any of the fancy ones?
Any of the fancy ones.
Oh no, everything fell, we're helping!
Uh-oh! You see three any of the fancy ones? Any of the fancy ones. Oh no, everything fell, we're helping! Uh-oh!
You see three of the members of the call
are now rushing underneath the now partially standing mammoth,
which would normally have these large, massive
four or five legs, depending on the construction.
One of the legs is completely blown from under,
another one has folded on the side,
so there's only three on another side that are standing.
So it's at this heavy side tilt.
And you see the legs trying to readjust
to make up for the
lost weight structure, but it's still struggling.
As it's doing, you can see there are a number of
call members that are climbing the ladders on the side.
There's two that have gotten on top of it that are firing
towards any of the entities that are up at the top.
And you see one of them pulls out one of the carbine
rifles, waits, aims, and fires.
Cracks like thunder locally. And you see a shaded them pulls out one of the carbine rifles, waits, aims, and fires, cracks like thunder locally,
and you see a shaded figure fall off the wall
and hit the dust and ground right at the base of the wall on the inside.
You can see one of the other call members,
because there are now three of them up by the pile of boxes
that are starting to grab crates
and trying to get any of the necessary goods out from the middle of the open,
and one of them just goes over and, like, whack,
just finishes the job on whoever fell off the wall
as they were getting up, crack with a heavy club,
and they are no longer moving.
Nice.
But now you hear other shots,
arrows going by,
and the occasional rifle shots from the wall,
and more members are now coming out of the Seat of Disdain.
Do the ladders appear to be a target?
Are, like, are people,
are Paragon Call members going up the ladder
and getting shot off the ladder?
No one's been shot off the ladder yet,
but you do see about two members are up on the ladder,
and then a shadow comes to the top of the wall
and pushes it off the side of the ladder.
They both leap off the last second
to try to save best they can and roll into it.
The ladders are going up the wall.
They're going up against the wall, yeah,
and then they get pushed off, and so you watch as they tumble out into it. The ladders are going up the wall. They're going up against the wall, yeah, and then they get pushed off.
And so you watch as they tumble out of it.
One of them kind of gets up,
the shoulder is like popped out of the socket a little bit,
and he starts yelling, trying to get it back in,
while the other one looks hurt,
but he gets back up, pulls out,
what looks like a nice wicked saber,
and starts rushing up around the other side of the wall
for another entryway, you assume.
I'm going to go, is there an easy way
to go up into the crawler?
You can try, yeah.
I'm not going to try. I'm going to cast Spider Climb on myself as well.
Yes!
Awesome.
Yes!
Here we go.
You have Spider Climb!
I have Spider Climb now, yeah.
You just see Laudna's limbs start to crack
as she starts to think and channel the Nightmare King.
And then I'm going to go on the inside of,
underneath the belly of the crawler and start to crawl up from the inside to try and have as Nightmare King, and then I'm going to go on the inside of, like underneath the belly of the crawler,
and start to crawl up from the inside
to try and have as much cover as I can.
Great, that's awesome.
Plenty of cover on the inside.
You notice that the platforms
that are on the top of the mammoth crawler
are fairly even keel,
because they're designed to carry both people and goods.
The underneath section is barely welded together
with whatever scrap was there.
And it is a jungle of sharp, rusted bits
with the occasional spaces to come through.
But with your spider climb, easy enough with care.
And I will ask for an acrobatics check
just to make sure you don't end up
nicking yourself in the process, but it does give you.
Acrobatics? Yes.
16, distress. Without issue,, uh, uh, 16. 16. Distress.
Without issue, without issue.
No damage sustained.
You're basically now weaving in and out of this odd,
tangled, hanging mass of just jumbled junk
that's been welded underneath here
to keep it going and to prevent anyone else
from blasting it from underneath.
So you're now up underneath that space.
I'm trying to go where the crates are.
You got it.
And there, amongst that,
you have three quarters cover
while you're underneath there.
Just keep that in mind.
Sick.
What's everyone else doing
who's not on Team Treshi?
Yeah, okay, running to the crates.
You're running to the crates, okay.
And following along.
Okay, cool.
So you rush up.
You can see now more members are joining,
and while some are fighting off,
about half of the crew out here,
which now stands both,
I'd say standing about 15
and about six or maybe seven
that are down and out in the current fray.
But of the ones that are still standing,
half of them are focused on the crates.
They know the importance
of probably why this attack has happened
and they're shouting like,
get him inside, get him inside!
And they're just grabbing what they can. Hurry, get him inside!
They're picking up the crates.
As you approach, you can see one of them
is currently putting a bunch of elements
back into one of the shattered boxes
that you saw with the Treshi name on it.
You can see there's these folded blankets
that are torn open,
and there are dozens of these small crystal vials,
about a foot long,
that are all just spilt out on the ground as the dust is.
I'm grabbing, yeah, we're coming in to help.
Okay, cool. So you go ahead and grab a few.
The guy holds the box out.
Are any of the little metal black boxes
with no edges, the little safe boxes around?
I will say there is only one.
The other ones have already been picked up
and they're being loaded back into it.
There's somebody currently going for the last one.
I got it, I got it, I got it.
Yeah, I was going to say.
Yeah, I'm grabbing.
I just have my skirt up and I'm just putting things in.
Putting things in?
A lot of it's just broken rock and masonry materials.
But you're shoving it in there.
Who knows what it is?
A handful of vials. It could be something cool.
Okay. Yeah. A couple of vials. Okay. Yeah.
And a couple of vials broke onto the ground,
and you can see this dark, viscous gray liquid spread out,
and then immediately begins to dissipate and evaporate.
Don't touch it.
Whatever you do, don't touch it.
It might be dangerous,
as I'm just yelling to everyone to stay back.
Okay, Dad.
Okay.
I would like to ask you to make an investigation check,
and you to make an intimidation check,
because the other guy that was going for it
at the same time has that look in his eye like,
I'm important, this is important.
Come on. We got to get provided.
Come on.
Let's try that again.
18.
18.
He rushes towards it and you say,
I got it, I got it, I got it.
Jeez, it's fine.
He turns around and starts picking up some other things,
grabs another one of the crates and lifts it up,
and you all now have access
to a handful of random materials.
What'd you roll? 20.
A 20? 19 plus one, 20.
Okay, I'll say you have three of the vials you recover.
Cool.
And quickly ferret away,
while the rest are put back into the crate
as the guy's carrying it, puts the blanket back into it,
and you guys begin pulling back before
a much larger explosion. Oh my.
Rocks the top of the mammoth crawler.
Immediately as it impact hits, I need you,
are you going to hold on or are you going to drop?
I'm underneath and I'm going to hold on.
That's where you want to be
when a large structure explodes.
Yeah! On it.
Underneath it.
So.
It rocks, and even those of you
who are running in Team Tresh,
you hear this distant muffled
inside the stone walls.
I'm sure it's fine.
Of the Seat of Disdain.
Those of you outside, you're in your head.
Laudna?
It looks like a large satchel of preset explosives,
not dissimilar to the one that you had recently used,
had been thrown onto this crawler
and then detonated upon impact.
It specifically hits one of the large joints
where one of the other still standing legs is.
And as it detonates, the leg kind of cracks out from its mooring
and the entire structure begins to collapse downward.
Oh no.
Mister, go to Laudna.
And like a burst of zipping flame,
you watch as Mister just starts darting through the storm.
The wind striking him, he's having to correct for it.
Like he's a sail pushing against the wind.
Has to arc around as it's like,
and it's starting to rotate and crumble onto itself.
You, who are holding on the inside
of this mass of tangled metal, feel it list, shift,
and then begin to turn as you see the ground itself
get darker, a shadow begins to turn as you see the ground itself get darker
as shadow begins to rise towards you.
Oh boy.
Can I position myself?
Can I Titanic this and get on the other side of the railing?
Like to where I'm not going to smash?
So you're trying to get up onto the top then?
Yeah, I'm going to move around.
Okay. I will say,
roll a d20, add your dexterity modifier right now.
I'm just going to go ahead to roll for the actual machine.
Don't fuck me.
Spider clam, spider clam!
Okay, 10 total.
Machine rolled a two.
So this was just it slowly listing
as you dart around from underneath
and you just scurry up around the edge of the car
as the impact hits.
Dust billows out at the sides
and a big ring gets caught up into the wind by
and just adds to the rest of the sandstorm around.
I just say to Imogen,
I'm not sure if there's going to be much of a crawler left
to plant this ring.
At which point you feel this clawing on your shoulder.
Don't fucking scare me like that, mister.
Mister, look for the black crates.
Go, go!
And goes darting after Fearne, who has a black crate.
Oh, fuck.
Stupid monkey.
Stupid monkey.
Do I see any more crates?
Are there still more crates left on this crawler?
You see there are four crates left on it,
and they're all just the very large rock-based crates
that were heavy enough that they didn't slide far enough
off to hit the ground when it first listed.
They got all the trashy stuff.
Yeah, there's nothing left here for me, is there?
Not at all, but no.
But what else?
Is there anything else you want to do while you're up here?
Come back to me.
Okay.
You got it. Did she just pass?
And pass.
Check.
I'm going to get into that.
Okay.
Check, your turn.
So you guys are charging back to the Seat of Disdain
while carrying boxes.
I need both of you to roll dexterity saving throws.
That's you. Don't look at me.
That's me!
Yes. You're both carrying the goods of interest here.
Yes, ma'am.
You don't quite know what's happening,
except for you hear a brief, high-pitched whine.
What did you roll?
18.
18, okay.
So you only take half damage on this.
15.
15?
You take full damage.
All right.
That is...
18 points of bludgeoning damage to you.
Are you Rajaying?
He is not, so that's full 18.
You take nine points of bludgeoning damage
as another explosive that was thrown from above
and arcs, trying to catch you guys
as you're all rushing back towards the Seat of Disdain.
And it's thrown well, because with the wind going,
it manages to catch, and while it's not a perfect hit,
it rolls into your periphery as it impacts
and then detonates right in front of you.
And as it does, you've managed to take the full brunt of it,
but you're more worse for wear
than in other war scenarios than this.
Fearne, you do manage to dart out of the way slightly
and minimize the impact,
but you're still able to continue going.
How far am I from them?
They're now probably about 15 feet and closing in,
because you only got partway out into the battlefield.
I'm just going to keep my eyes open for more bags of explosives being thrown over.
Maybe I can knock them out of the sky as they come over.
Okay.
As you glance up,
go ahead and make perception check
with disadvantage for me, if you don't mind.
Dis!
Yep.
Advantage!
Perception is 15.
15, okay.
Not too bad.
Glancing up, you do see some of the figures on top
You see multiple shadows now
But they're combating
It looks like members of the Paragon's Call have now managed to climb back
Onto the wall, and it looks like there is
A definitive scuffle now beginning to occur
At both sides of the wall
There's still figures and shadows in the center of it
But you can see our lobbing explosives and firing down from different rifle shots
You see flashes of mother
You can't make out who they are
or what uniforms they're wearing?
Best you could tell with a 15
is that they are heavily wrapped in heavy hoods,
multitudes of cloth, almost like a mantle,
and they don't wear any distinctive colors or symbols
that you can tell in the middle of this storm.
Okay.
To the point where it seems intentionally vague.
The vagary.
In the interim, while the rest of you
are going through and doing this,
and going about this multi-minute struggle
and grabbing things, pushing through, getting blasted,
Team Treshi, what are you doing?
Lead the way, Pocky P.
Okay, I take my bloody hand and I smear it on my face.
And make my way towards the door
that had the lock before.
Is there anyone standing at it? Is it open?
Okay, it is not open.
There's nobody currently standing at it.
As you guys are rushing back in,
people are pushing past you, grabbing weaponry.
Where are you going?
Weapons.
Vry keeps going.
They're not that concerned with it.
You see someone comes by and sees you and goes,
Oh god, and just keeps running.
Stay strong, little one.
As you tear down the hallway,
back to where your barracks were,
around the curve, passing by the war room,
and you can see there are now two figures
up on the table there that are both talking loudly,
trying to figure out, like,
who is it, do we know, are there any signs?
Bring one of the bodies in!
And they start fanning out
and giving orders to other figures.
And earlier when you heard that there were only
maybe about 20 or so people here in the Seat of Disdain
for when you were getting the original tour,
you get the sense that maybe that information wasn't correct.
There's a lot more people starting to come out
of the woodwork to defend this place.
But nevertheless, you rush back to where Barak's door is,
down the hallway where there's the stairway that leads up,
and there is the current barred gateway
that leads into the stairs below to the basement.
Just give me permission.
Do it. Okay.
I start locking another lock,
even though we're standing out in the middle of the chaos.
If we're caught, what do we say?
We're the elite team.
Rotanus sent us to get Treshi out of here.
He's gone!
Get down to the VIP.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, got it.
All right, I'm going to get behind Imogen
so that she's between Chetney and I,
and I'll watch our back.
Okay, you got it.
All right, so you go pick the lock.
Yep.
You don't have to roll.
It's open.
Oh.
I shot it last time.
Yeah. Someone beat us here.
Fucking balls! Fuck!
Get in there! Come on!
Oh no.
It's all a distraction.
But as I hustle, it's getting rid of new traps.
All right.
I'm like, super scared.
Going downstairs?
Sure, make an investigation or a perception check
with disadvantage, because you are rapidly searching
as you're running.
Nine?
Seems fine. Okay.
Going down the steps.
Cool.
The wire hits you in the shin
and you immediately start tumbling forward down the stairs. Fuck!
There was no wire there before!
Make a dexterity saving throw.
Can I use telekinetic shove to pull him back to me?
In a moment, we'll see what he rolls here.
Is this magic at all?
No, it's physical. No, it is literally just a wire.
Ooh, god, 12.
12.
We're talking ass over tea kettle.
You just. This is the second time a wire
has fucked you up in the stairs scenario.
And you just go down the stairs.
You telekinetic shove him back five feet,
which pulls him back up again.
And he just.
What the fuck?
We're on the same team.
Oh, oh god, they're worse.
You failed the saving throw.
We'll say it's only two points of bludgeoning damage
on the way down. Okay.
Not too hard. We step over the wire.
Correct. I see you reduced the damage
you would have taken by pulling him back,
but it definitely made it longer, which was funny.
All righty.
But you hit the ground.
Right as you focus, the rest of you
trying to follow suit, but he definitely made
a not intentional beeline for the basement floor. Glancing to the right of you trying to follow suit, but he definitely made a not intentional beeline
for the basement floor.
Glancing to the right, you see what looks to be
an unconscious guard on the ground.
Go, go.
Yeah, I run up.
Can I pat his waist real quick?
Are there any keys, pouches, anything that I could grab
that would be a faster way out of here
in case we come up against a locked door?
You go and search for his body,
make an investigation check for me real fast.
I'm running past to get to Treshi.
Okay, you're both running past.
17.
17, great.
I mean, there's weaponry, there's a coin purse.
Fuck that.
It looks like there is a loop on the belt,
a leather loop that is well hidden
underneath the coin purse itself, but it's been cut.
Yep.
Okay, okay, follow me!
So I run to the cell.
You say, follow me, and they're already gone.
Shit!
One mind!
The two of you who are stepping out into this area,
as soon as you step down the stairs past Chetney,
as you're searching the body,
there is a hallway that goes right in front of you
and a hallway that goes to the right.
Where do you go?
Well, I know that Treshi was underneath our room before,
so I'm going to head that direction.
Okay. So you turn the corner,
and at this moment, immediately,
you see there are two other guards
on the opposite side of the hallway
that immediately start firing in your direction.
Oh shit. On us, obviously on us?
They start firing in your direction.
Hold on, you need help with the VIP.
It's us, it's us!
We're here to help!
So are you continuing into the hallway?
Yeah, and I hold up a hood. We'll pause just long enough,
yeah. Okay.
Yellow hood. They both duck behind.
They're like, because the hall continues,
it opens up into a larger room,
and then pinches inward and then turns to a left
as you look down.
So tunnel turn?
Yes, and they're around the turn,
so turn around, fire at you, and then come back.
Were they wearing yellow?
Yes, they're both wearing yellow cloaks,
and they're well armored. Okay.
So you both shout out. Uh-huh.
There's no response immediately.
They turn back out and get ready.
In their head, I'm going to say in their head,
has he been compromised?
One of them looks confused for a second,
and they both take a shot,, and they both take a shot.
Pardon me, both take a shot.
Not in your direction, but to the left of you,
past where your vision into the room goes.
Ooh.
Oh.
Oh.
Shooting at somebody.
I'm confused about our, yeah.
There's someone in there.
So Orym's going to start sliding up.
So you begin walking into a hall.
It opens up into a room,
but you haven't entered the room yet,
and they're both firing to something around the blinds.
So they see us, but they're both firing to something around the blinds. So they see us,
but they're now attacking something different?
Correct. Okay.
Might have a chance, though.
I know, I'm going to try to continue and.
One of the guards who turns around the corner
another round of fire takes something to the forehead
and just stumbles onto the ground, not moving.
Do we see where that came from, the shot came from?
Orym runs up. You get the sense
the direction it's coming from
was around the blind corner to the right.
Orym runs up the left wall and springs off it,
sword out at whatever is around the corner.
Sick, sick, sick, sick, sick.
Okay, okay.
There, as you jump around and land,
as soon as you do, the first thing you notice
is that the cell to Treshi's,
you see the cell that Treshi's in,
and Treshi is currently up on the cot,
like back to the wall, hands on the side of the wall,
like eyes wide and trying to just stay out of the middle
of the scuffle.
The second thing you notice is that the door
is not yet open to the cell.
The third thing you notice is the cloaked figure
that's standing there has a blade to your throat.
As I fly through the air down from the wall?
As you come down from the wall and land?
Okay.
Okay, yeah, great.
What else would you have liked to go?
Oh, I was going to come down and slash,
so I could potentially get,
I wasn't trying to readjust.
I think I would get stabbed
because I was saying I was launching off the wall.
That's true.
Like a missile.
That's true.
So that being the case,
as the individual swishes around, blade out towards whatever was right there, hearing the sound. Yeah, all right. Like a missile. That's true. So that being the case, as the individual swishes around,
blade out towards whatever is right there,
hearing the sound, yeah, all right.
Familiar face?
Familiar face.
You don't know yet.
That will be 26 to hit.
Definitely, definitely, definitely.
Okay, that is seven points of slashing damage.
As the blade catches you on the side of the face,
up the side of the cheek, past the ear,
and you feel that warmth, that warm, immediate pain,
that burning sensation, as you stumble and land
and look up into the face of a very harried-looking,
intense glare from Artanevo.
Oh shit.
I'm going to roll through her legs.
Okay.
Go ahead and make an acrobatics check.
Tell me I was horny.
Can I see anything at this point, or is?
If you're following in, then yes.
Yeah, okay.
And I'd say you, by now,
have caught up around the corner here,
and you immediately see,
just out of vision of Orym,
leaping up the wall,
bouncing off out of sight.
Okay.
What are y'all doing?
16. 16.
I'll say.
Yeah, actually.
You see in the moment of recognition,
there's a look of confusion on her face,
and that's just enough for you to go ahead and dart,
having a little more information
about the scenario than she did.
And she tries to reconvene her position
and try and sweep her leg out to pick you up
and hook you as you go, but you're too quick and you immediately tumble
onto the opposite side through the legs,
and now you're in between the cell door and her.
Okay, and Blade not attacking now,
just Blade pressed a little bit like with you,
pressed to the small of her back.
We've got a bit of a standoff here.
She takes a hit to the shoulder
from the other guard that's still alive down the hallway, and she goes,
pulls up her crossbow. She has a big old heavy
crossbow. You've seen it once before.
And pulls it up and launches a bolt
out towards the guard that just shot her.
That's a natural 20.
Well, that's not good for him.
That's really not good for him.
Yeah, he's like
into the chest, and you see him kind of like
hold it for a second, realize it,
grab his crossbow,
and start going through the motions of loading it,
and as he does, his motions get sluggish,
he falls to a knee,
and then falls unconscious on the ground.
I am going to see all of this happening,
and I'm just going to say,
I've taught her though!
And I'm going to hit her with Psychic Lance.
Okay.
They're probably after the same thing.
That's an intelligent saving throw.
That is. Okay, that is...
That's dark.
That's going to be a 13.
She fails.
What does that do?
Oh man. So she is going to take
seven d6.
Ooh, okay.
Psychic damage.
I'm sorry, did you say seven d6?
Seven d6.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
And something happens to her after.
Yeah, this is not that one.
Ooh!
Well, 10. Ooh! Well, 10, 20,
24, 25 points of psychic damage.
25 points of psychic damage, you got it.
She's immediately incapacitated.
Until? My next turn.
Okay, yeah.
So as you shout that and scream,
there's this glance as she suddenly,
across the shoulder, would be actually from this position,
based on where you're coming in, goes,
looks over, the eyes go wide,
and you watch as the pupils dilate in a flash.
And suddenly she grabs her forehead
and crumples onto one knee,
and is just clutching her head,
like the crossbow just clinks to the ground around
and holds her face going.
And it's just there, this tight ball of all the muscles
trying to deal with the pain that's wracking her mind.
I'm going to whip out a rope and tie her up.
Oh!
Okay.
All right, go ahead and use it.
Chet, you want to do anything?
No, I'm running to Treshi's cell.
Yeah, get Treshi.
Okay, so you go ahead and...
Find the keys!
I think she's got the keys.
I know, but I'm waiting for her.
Okay, are you finding the keys or are you tying her up?
Tying her up.
Okay.
He's tying her up, and I'm going to say to Treshi,
we're here to help you.
Okay, I'm going to say, just ask this,
because she's incapacitated until the next turn.
At six seconds, she's incapacitated.
That's a very fast time to tie someone up entirely.
What kind of tie are you doing?
I'm going to tie her legs together.
Okay, fair enough.
Because that's something I can do fast.
Go ahead and roll a dexterity check.
I'll say with advantage because she is incapacitated.
Can I kick her crossbow down the...
You can indeed, yes.
You kick, like skids and clatters
about 10 feet from where you're standing.
That's it, with advantage?
With advantage. Natural 20.
Yeah. Oh my.
With that moment, well, first off,
you're pretty close to the legs already.
And with her crumpled down, you basically kick the like kick the one knee that she's kind of leaning on out from under her.
She goes flat on the ground and with the legs kind of straightened out behind, you immediately grab the rope and
kind of figure eight around, pull it up and do like a half hog tie in the back.
Pull the knot taut just as she begins to like pull up and try back away, and her ankles are bound.
Immediately as this is happening,
you're going over and looking for the keys, you said?
No, I'm just going to the cell.
Well, the cell's right next to where they are,
since it's for the fight, so you go and join them
at the cell. Yeah, yeah.
And you see him tying up the legs of Ortona Vo,
just as she starts to rouse. Good job!
And what are you doing now?
Are you talking to Treshi?
I'm saying we're here to get him out.
Treshi, at this point, is like,
Of course, yes.
Whatever you need.
I'm going to start trying to lockpick the cell.
Speak to me, Sally.
I'm going to reach into Chetney's shirt.
My brain? My chest?
In your shirt.
And pull out the scarf that's sticking out
that Fearne gave you.
Yeah.
I'm going to stick it in. Because we can reach through the bars, right?
Yeah.
I'm going to flare it out on the ground
and tell Tresh to hop in.
To a scarf?
No, to the hole.
The hole.
Make a deception check.
Get in.
Get in, you piece of shit.
Make a hole check.
Make a hole.
You're telling a man under fire to jump into a hole.
Right.
So make a deception check. We just helped him. Of course, that's why you have an opportunity here. Make a hole. You're telling a man under fire to jump into a hole. Right.
So make a deception check.
We just helped him.
Of course, that's why you have an opportunity here.
Nah.
Oh my god.
I did it while I was 13.
13?
You throw it on the ground, it's like,
open the door, open the door.
Yeah, good, good, good. We can get out of here.
Cover my work.
And I get in there and start.
Okay, at this point, Arturovo is now arousing.
He goes, what are you doing?
Turns around and twists on where she's flat on the ground,
flips over while her ankles are still bound
so that her back's now on the ground facing you.
That's a problem.
And goes ahead and pulls out a short sword
and just looks at you and says, what are you doing?
Disarming attack.
Wait, wait, wait, we can work together!
I mean, maybe she's with people.
Disarming attack.
She's, is she prone?
She's very much prone, yeah.
She has advantage.
Oh, wow, that was a crazy roll.
That is not a good enough roll.
Always the diplomat.
That is an 18.
Huckabee!
Huckabee! Puck a bee!
To hit.
Let's just talk about this!
It definitely hits. Okay.
Then Artana needs to make a strength save of...
Where is it?
Boomstick, 16.
She rolled a 14.
So the short sword that she had sheathed earlier
after striking you as you went down
is now struck from the other hand,
skids off down the hall a bit behind her.
She's like.
And then I will
pierce her in the shoulder.
Oh god.
And say, well, I got to roll.
Yeah.
That is a 21. 21 misses. Oh shit. She say, well, I got to roll. Yeah. That is a 21.
21 misses.
Oh shit.
She stacked up.
Whoa.
21 misses. She's wearing some shit.
Or she has like, blur on her arms.
She has an ability called Multi-Attack Defense,
where she gets a plus two.
Plus four bonus against multi-attacks.
Okay, so.
So you strike once, knock the blade free.
The second time, she gets that look in her eye like,
I know your tricks.
And as you try to strike, pet her shoulder,
she's like, slowly moves out of the way,
puts the arm around and grabs your arm
and is now attempting to, as a counterattack,
lock your arm up with hers.
This is being an athletics versus athletics check.
Okay. Roll a least.
14. 14, 18.
Oh no!
So you're considered grappled. And we'll say for the purposes of the narrative here,
that one weapon arm is currently locked in place.
You can still strike with the other,
whatever you want to do, but right now that arm is locked.
And she says, he pulled in,
looking you straight in the eyes, and he's going like,
What do you think you're doing here?
You're fucking up a lot.
We're walking out with him.
Where?
Let's talk about it on the way.
Make a persuasion check.
Come on!
Natural 20.
Oh!
On the cathodai.
Fire! Yes!
She reads you.
The intensity in the eyes tries to hold for a second,
and there's a slight relaxing of the brows.
You're not one of them.
All right.
Okay.
Takes a moment, releases your arm.
Jack, can you get that lock open?
She's just starting to talk to me.
I'm feeling it out.
Yeah, reveal your secrets.
I mean, I know you got keys,
but I'm going to fucking take my chance.
Nedra's father!
What, really?
And you hit the table and it knocked it off.
Oh my god.
There it is, yeah.
Holy shit.
So, yeah, you don't know where the keys are.
That brief moment of tension separates itself,
and you and Artana have this brief moment
of at least understanding.
As that's happening, you,
coming up to this relatively intricate lock.
What's your total on that with the natural 20?
That'd be a 30.
Damn!
Jeez Louise.
The DC on this was a 25.
So you, glancing at this lock,
the inspiration rolling through you,
the burst of invigorated blood hitting your systems,
all the adrenaline's flowing through you.
In the back of your head, you hear that howl, that.
You quietly, without even realizing it, mouth it.
Yeah.
As you're just focused in,
without hesitation,
every single tumbler falls.
You find the right hook, click and turn.
It falls open.
The heavy ass lock just kind of clinks,
clanks to the side and the gate opens to the front.
Treshi's still kind of up on the side.
Are you?
Explain one thing to me.
Are you a prisoner or are they protecting you?
They are. You wear their color, so.
Yeah, I know, I'm new here, okay?
You're working with her.
Who are you? Who are you?
And he grabs a book and is holding it
in front of him like a weapon.
I'm going to command, Treshi.
What do you command?
In!
Oh, one word!
That's right, bitch! One word!
Come on.
That is a natural 16, plus two.
It's a 13, sorry.
Oh!
It's a hot table.
I tried to make it easy for you.
You guys take him down.
Okay.
He goes,
holds the book out to try and defend himself.
You get the sense that seeing this person
that attacked the people and then is now...
There's a lot of weird scenarios here,
as far as alliances go, that he's starting to figure out,
and right as he's about to say something about it,
you just come at him like a madman.
The wood chisel goes and just touches his aorta,
and you can see it moving against the pulse of his heartbeat.
I'm like, unless you want to bleed,
get in the hole and do it quietly.
Make an intimidation check.
Come on, Trevor, don't you?
Matter of 20!
Why are you going through the mound?
Why are you going through the mound?
Fucking bananas!
Now's the time! The wolf decides!
Holy shit!
Holy shit.
Oh my god.
Treshi, just sitting there with the.
Just tip-moving us.
Fine.
She'll kill you.
Just as easily as she would have killed me.
Then he jumps into the hole,
vanishing into the dark.
You hear, actually, you would hear nothing.
Start counting.
I'll slice the rope open.
Okay, as you cut the rope,
she looks at you and then immediately skitters back
and grabs the crossbow, the heavy crossbow,
darts over and grabs the blade, sheathing it.
Wait! Loads the crossbow,
pulls it back in a rapid maneuver,
and then turns invisible, vanishes from sight.
Great, I was going to grab a yellow cloak.
There's a brief beat where you hear,
where are you taking him?
You're not quite sure where she is.
You just hear it in the space where she was standing.
Going out in the desert?
What do you think, Imogen?
In your head.
In seconds.
I think you shouldn't have trusted her.
10 minutes, right?
Tell her wherever you want.
The 10 minutes before?
Yeah, about 10 seconds.
That was like a minute and a half.
We're taking him home.
We're taking him home.
The art paths aren't quite as different as you think.
You hear the voice sourcelessly, The air paths aren't quite as different as you think.
You hear the voice sourcelessly,
and then she reappears on the opposite side of the hallway where you guys came from
and is now standing at the base of the stairs
where you first entered and goes,
We got to go.
Come on.
Okay, back to the rest of you who have been outside.
You, who are going to rush back to the seat now, hear the continuing explosions
and the occasional screams.
Ah!
And as more things explode and detonate,
there's rocks and shale being flung from behind.
Fearne, you get struck a little bit
in the back of the head.
Not enough to really do damage,
but enough to sting a bit.
Other soldiers start rushing out,
and you can now enough to sting a bit. Other soldiers start rushing out,
and you can now begin to hear
a sound that you almost began to hear before.
As you see a runecrawler from across the side now
that's being manned by some of the Paragon's Call
have fired up their Catrisha Special
that is now, the flares of its muzzle are going
just shooting in a row
in the space as the rune crawlers
coming forward towards
the direction where the mammoth crawler is now partially collapsed.
You can see now
the lobbed explosives and
the various rifle fire that's
coming from that side of the wall is now moving and
shifting along the wall to try and avoid the fire from
the special. And as it's just shooting, you can see chunks of the wall is now moving and shifting along the wall to try and avoid the fire from the special. And as it's just shooting,
you can see
chunks of the wall itself, like
bits of rock flying off, and
as elements are going to crack and break, and I don't have to
do enough damage to the wall to destroy it necessarily, but it's definitely
you can see where the spray of fire is trying to trace
and follow, but once again, the storm itself
is definitely obfuscating a lot of their
attempt to whip around.
While this is all happening, what are you two doing?
If we've gotten close enough to the building,
where the fuck is Laudna?
You'll actually hear in your head,
Ashton,
where have they taken the crates?
We've got what we need.
Fuck the ring.
Get out.
We're heading out.
I'm going to start dodging fire.
I'm going to spider climb down.
Okay. You just,
I'm going to lay low and skitter across
back towards the call.
Okay.
Aside from the thing that's firing right now,
are there any other vehicles or horses or carts
or modes of transportation?
There are no horses.
There are definitely two other skirmish crawlers
that are at the periphery against the wall.
One of them is on its side
that's just currently not operable,
and another that's just resting.
And then there's the rune crawler that's now like,
just like a giant tripod making its way over
towards this side of the battlefield.
I'm making a beeline through Saving Private Ryan,
gunfire and explosions and bodies and stuff,
I'm just like,
ah, I'm sorry, I can't help you right now!
Which, to that point, I need both you and Laudna
to make dexterity saving throws for me, please.
To dodge, just straight dex?
To just dodge shrapnel and throw an explosion of weapons.
Ooh, that's a fail.
Shit, it was going so well.
What's my dex saving throw?
It's not great, okay. Okay, 16. 16, okay, so you take so well. What's my dex saving through? It's not great, okay.
Okay, 16. 16, okay.
So you take half damage.
All right.
Okay, that's actually a pretty bad roll.
I have to roll to see if it hits my mirror image, right?
This is a radial scenario.
So this is not a targeted attack,
so it's not going to, unfortunately,
be avoidable by the mirror image.
However, you take 11 points of bludgeoning damage, FCG,
and then you would take five points of bludgeoning damage.
That's just from the rain of chaos around you.
Can I see either of them, or I would be looking for you?
You can see the dark shape in the dust storm of FCG
darting back and getting to make his way
through the different gunfire.
Where are you heading?
What the fuck are you doing?
I'm trying to get to the crawler
that is parked up against the wall.
The skirmish crawler? Yeah.
Okay, yeah, you watch FCG just vanish into the dust storm.
Shit! Fuck!
Do I pass FCG?
With your passive perception, I'd say you see,
of everyone who's running and charging,
a lot of these very normal humanoid shapes,
you see one like
just cruise off in the opposite direction
of where a lot of your friends
were darting off with their equipment.
FCG? He's saying it in his head.
Should I? Do you need help?
Ah!
I'm getting us a big getaway car!
I'll be right there.
I'm going to go towards the call,
towards Seated Disdain.
Do I see Ashton and Fearne?
The two of you, have you been waiting
at the front of the fortress?
I was about to go run, deal with this,
but they're both moving in weird directions.
I'm trying to figure out what the fuck is happening.
I'm just running around, just screaming in circles.
So the two of them are just running around in circles
in front of the fortress. Fuck it! I'm bullish running around, just screaming in circles. So the two of them are just running around in circles in front of the fortress.
I'm bullish on completing this,
and I just crawl right past Ashton
and start crawling up the Seated Sane.
Okay, so you are now just like,
full-on creepy ring girl crawling up the side of the fortress.
Of the fucking fortress?
Of the fortress?
Yes.
Love it.
All right, cool.
It's like Wife of Dracula, Bram Stoker. So FCG has darted off into the fortress. Of the fucking fortress? Of the fortress? Yes. Love it. All right, cool. It's like Wife of Dracula, but I'm Stoker.
So FCG has darted off into the sandstorm,
towards the wall, and Fearne is now
trying to track everything.
I don't know what the fuck to do.
I'm going to run at FCG full speed
to wherever the fuck FCG is going to.
Okay. And I will probably rage
while doing it in case anything tries to fire at me.
Okay, so you're going to do a full rage
charging after him.
Mm-hmm. For Otohan's room.
So Fearne, you're now alone,
holding the dark, one foot by one foot by one foot cube,
heavily reinforced box,
as soldiers are now running past you,
running the other direction past you, wounded,
and going like, I need ammunition,
and goes rushing back in.
Another explosion, the special's now
up against the wall that way,
and you see a burst of flame as another explosive
gets thrown against it.
The crawler rears back a bit, but holds its bearing.
You can now see somebody is currently casting a spell
from the top of the wall.
You see as it glows, these dozens and dozens
of small little, I want to say spears begin to shoot out
and then wrap around the leg of the crawler
trying to hold it in place.
And you see it get stuck there
and its legs can't pull against it.
It's locked in, but it's still firing.
And one of them hits whoever was casting that.
Immediately, that thread dispels and you see a body
hit the ground.
So it's chaos.
Yeah.
In the meantime, you are rushing over to where that one car is.
Double dash, trying to get there.
Okay, make another dexterity saving throw for me, please.
You're trying to get to the car?
17. The crawler?
17, okay.
Now that you're not right in the middle of this chaos,
charging around the side to where it is,
you avoid all damage for this one.
Darting past,
you go to it, and it's kind of like, this is the one
that was on the right, that's away from the
chaos? I think, yeah.
Okay. There's one that's on the
ground and one set up on the side there that you can kind of
see. Is it on blocks or something?
No, it's just resting on its side.
On its side?
Yes.
Was there one that looked more drivable than the other?
There is, but that is where the Ruin Crawler is now over by and where it seems like a lot of the skulls.
Okay. All right. Great. I'll figure it out.
Okay. So you rush up to the side of it, and you can see it's laying on its edge.
It doesn't appear to be heavily damaged by any means.
It definitely looks like it's seen some wear and tear.
A lot of the armor and kind of metal aspects that are welded to it are kind of bent and jagged.
But also that's part of its charm and what people like to present.
It's a scary thing not to get involved with.
You're not sure if it's damaged or not really in the way that it's built.
What are you doing?
I'm going to use my grapple hook if I need to, to like get up into the cockpit of it.
Or is it, is it like laying on the side so I can just roll it?
You can just roll into it.
It's getting sideways situated.
And then, yeah, I haven't driven one of these,
but I was one once.
So I'm just going to,
you know, like you see a decision tree
flying by, a robotic Terminator decision tree.
I'm going to look at all the controls
and see how to turn it on.
Make an investigation check for me.
Oh boy.
Can I guide myself?
Yeah. Guides!
Ooh, terrible.
What is that?
Okay.
Investigation.
Oh, this is brutal.
Is that a nine or a six?
That's a six. That's a six.
I got a six.
Plus a d4?
Plus a d4. Plus one, minus one.
Oh!
Holy shit.
So the controls on this are a little obtuse.
There's a series of handles back here
and there's no buttons to push.
It's not a motorcycle.
It is an automaton that has,
you assume, an odd combination of autonomy
and taking direction.
And so as you grab onto it,
you try and push forward on it.
And as you do, the legs spark to life
and begin digging into the ground
and it begins to right itself.
The problem is it's about 10 foot from the wall.
So it just goes and slams into the wall,
ascending you from
the cockpit over and into the
wall as it hits.
Make another dexterity saving throw for me, please.
Hey, 18! 18!
You manage to spin in the air and your wheel catches
it. You turn and then
bounce off of it a bit and land. You don't take any damage,
but you're definitely off to the side.
The front of the armor and the armor that blocks the wheel
is bent up a little bit, but it wasn't enough room
for it to get enough speed to do any serious damage
to the wheel. I'm going to fire
my Gravel Cannon back and try to pull myself
back into the cockpit again.
Back into it? Okay, you're inside.
Okay. But it did seem to move
when you pushed it forward.
Okay, and so there's multiple levers.
The ones that I just pressed activated the thrust, right?
It's holding a set of horns.
Okay. And it looks like
there's a lever up beyond that to each one.
You just pushed forward on it
and it seemed to guide forward.
Okay, so I could pull back?
You could pull back. Or I could go sides?
You could certainly try.
Okay.
I'm going to quickly,
I'm going to take out that change bringer coin
and just flip it.
Heads or tails?
Do you have a coin?
I do. Flip it.
Okay.
Okay. Heads, I'll go backwards
and tails, I'll go like kind of left.
Okay.
Okay.
Tails, kind of left. Kind of left. Ooh! Tails, kind of left.
Kind of left.
So as you push it to the side,
it doesn't need to turn to go.
The legs in the back, which are, you know,
like a beast's legs,
like, digging in to tear.
The front wheel scoots,
and it just rotates on the spot to the side.
One of its legs actually kicks up against the wall
and holds it in place there.
All right.
Do I see any of my friends?
Make a perception check with disadvantage.
Disadvantage.
Yes, is the sandstorm still going?
18!
16 plus six, 24!
You glance forward, just in time to see
Ashton just barreling towards you.
And you come through the dust and you see
what looks to be a skirmish crawler growling.
You could see the blue energy of its energy core
glowing through the storm beneath it,
lighting up the ground.
And there, just over the bent metal front of it,
the armored guard, you see the little lenses of MCG.
I'm going to turn on the light spell through my eyes
and I'm going to say, get in, bitch!
We're getting out of here!
I'm going to run to it, jump in the back.
What the fuck plan is this?
I don't know!
No one knows what you're doing!
There's not a way out of here!
The doors are fucking closed!
There's a lot of death everywhere!
I'm scared!
This is a bad plan! Move towards the front entrance! I don't know what else to fucking do! All's a lot of death everywhere! I'm scared! This is a bad plan!
Move towards the front entrance!
I don't know what else to fucking do!
All right, I'll try!
Like the cabbie from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Ashton, as you were charging through the storm,
I would like you to make a dick-sirty save for me, please.
The more you're out in the open crossing
in these spaces here, there's danger happening all around.
I'll also say I'm in gravity mode,
so I don't know if that would make shit less
or more likely to hit me, but I hit the gravity well.
It's definitely going to make things more likely to hit you. Okay, so I'm going to lose
my advantage. Yes. Okay.
God fucking damn it. I always roll the wrong one.
Oh!
20.
20, great. Yeah, so Ashton arrives.
As Ashton runs up to you, you see
behind, like, in the shape of the shadow of him coming into frame there,
you see behind them
these other detonations of other things
that are either aimed at or just happen to roll past
and barely miss detonating upside your friend
as they charge up and jump into the back
of your skirmish crawler.
You are tearing off where?
I don't know. So there's no openings or gates that are open right now?
Right? To the outer wall?
No, that gate is shut. This is a siege.
All right, well, I'm just going to tear around
the donut of the place.
Perfect.
FCG's just doing donuts in a sandstorm.
I love it. I know I'm going to try
to find Fearne.
I'm going to go around the perimeter, try to find Fearne.
I got it, perfect. I'm going to point you in Fern. Like, I'm going to go around the Fern and try to find Fern. I got it. Perfect.
I'm going to point you in the bloody direction of the front entrance, because this is so, yeah,
this is so bad. Well, that's happening. Fern, what are you doing?
You're holding the box there. Ashton just ran
off into the dust. Just standing and staring at it all.
Lana just started climbing up the wall.
Oh, boy.
I don't know where everybody went.
Is it, how far is the gate? The gate is probably a good Oh boy. I don't know where everybody went.
How far is the gate? The gate is probably a good 60, 70 feet from where you are.
I'm just going to start walking towards the gate to leave.
Okay.
I will also specify that where the gate is.
Maybe you can hold it like a watermelon on your skirt,
like when people steal.
Yeah.
I will also specify that in the direction
of where the gate is, not immediately in front of it,
but immediately to the left of it,
is where that ruin crawler still currently stands
and the special is still firing.
And you can see there's a lot of the skirmishes
now happening along that side of the wall,
above and around where that area of the gate is.
So you'll be walking into where the focus of the chaos is.
Okay, I'm just going to stand
and I see one of them donutting.
Yeah.
We should be starting to right ourselves towards you.
It does take a move of an S pattern,
like a little Sidewinder Snake action,
but does eventually make...
I'm overcorrecting!
I'm overcorrecting!
Move over, move over!
No, I got this!
That one's a little out of control.
Too old to be driving!
Okay, while this is happening,
Laudna, you're climbing up the side of the wall,
and with your speed,
because you get to move your full speed,
and dash if you want to, you can climb up pretty quickly.
Where are you going?
I'm going to go to the top floor
where all those balconies are.
Okay.
And I'm going to start crawling along the edge.
I'm going to start peeking in
and see if I can see any higher ranking officers.
Yes, because as you climb up over the balcony,
the first thing you see is you are about one foot
from Otohan Thule,
who is just standing at the balcony and watching.
Watching all of this?
And suddenly you just
and just looks down,
dark eyes looking you right in the face.
Hello, darkness.
What the fuck is happening?
We're making trigger decisions.
Oh yeah! Let's go, baby.
Chaos.
There's an immediate look of like,
what? Before all of a sudden,
the entire balcony is immersed in darkness,
but you can see through it.
I can see through if I use a sorcerer point to cast,
which I do. Okay.
I'm going to then loop around her
so I can see through it.
Does she have any pockets?
Her Boba Fett jet pack, change purse, anything like that?
Are you trying to shake down?
I'm trying to plant this fucking ring on Otohan.
Oh! Oh!
Okay, make an investigation check.
Good call! Investigation check?
In the dark.
What is? I can see through it.
Come on, come on.
Hot table, hot table.
Everyone is going fucking back in.
15. 15's not bad.
So as you dart past,
Otohan is immediately just confused by this,
but is moving very quickly towards the back.
In the slow motion element of you pulling in the back,
like pushing past the cloak, you can see this.
And it's a device.
It's a device that's affixed to her back.
And as you look underneath,
there's almost these two cylindrical chambers
with things placed inside them.
And as you pull back, you can see there's a,
there's definitely an area where you can tuck a ring in
or you could hide it in there if you'd like to, but.
Sure.
Place it inside.
Does it feel like she would access it? It doesn't matter.
There's no time.
I plant it.
All right.
You rolled pretty high on investigation,
so you wouldn't be able to find a place to plant it.
It depends.
I will say.
I want to try and be smart about it.
All right, I know.
Place it where it makes sense.
Right.
You're placing this on somebody who's also now moving
and because right below this assemblage
are two sheathed blades that are cross-sheathed in the back.
And she is now darting,
like in the slow motion shot of you,
like rushing past and trying to grab underneath.
She's at the same time moving back
to unsheath the weapons and pull them free.
I'm trying to like, ooh, don't touch.
No touch.
Right.
So you roll 15 investigation. I will say to finish, ooh, don't touch, no touch. Right. So you rolled 15 investigation.
I will say to finish up to try and place this,
make a slight hand check.
Come on, Em. Come on, come on.
Come on, come on, come on.
Which die?
Gil? Gil?
Not sure. Don't fuck me.
Come on. Gil?
11. 11, okay.
You have a good plate of ham. 11. I rolled fuck me. Come on. 11. 11, okay.
You have a good plate of ham.
11, I rolled a, no, wait.
Nope, yeah, 11.
Okay.
So you go ahead and you go to place it up inside
and you're like, great.
And as soon as you get it placed in its positioning,
she spins with the blades out
and you immediately take the full brunt
of a round of attacks.
She cannot see. But I placed the ring.
The ring is there. As far as you're aware.
Oh no.
Okay.
Yeah, good, good, good, good.
For the cause. Great fucking idea.
For the cause.
Okay. You got a big HP and AC, right?
You're going to be fine.
I'm going to be fine.
I'm going to be good.
Hang on.
I'm going to swing. So that's three I'm going to get him! Hang on! I'm going to get him! So that's three attacks against you
with disadvantage, because she can't see.
And I still have mirror image.
You do.
So the first strike is going to be 17.
She hits a mirror.
Shpoof! Darts off one of the mirror edges of it,
the version. While she can't even see, she's going off of the sense of where you might be and strikes one of a mirror. Darts off one of the mirror's edges of it, the version.
While she can't even see,
she's going off of the sense of where you might be
and strikes one of the mirror.
I'm not sure you're just going after Ahsoka right now.
In the dark.
That's going to be a natural one with disadvantage.
Nice. Miss.
Second strike misses.
The third one is going to be a 21 to hit.
Hits a mirror.
No damage on that round.
Yes!
Well, they're just surrounded by raids.
Does the mirror, once they hit the mirror,
does it feel like she hits anything or it just goes?
It just.
So that's going to be Otohan's immediate round to that
and is now just like, you hear in the darkness,
her voice go,
Whoever you are, your timing is curious.
I jump off the balcony. I jump off the balcony.
You jump off the balcony?
Yeah.
Okay.
You immediately dart off.
Oh, jeez.
Let's go ahead and make-
Is there a follow-up to that statement?
I'm going to wait until I get almost all the way down
and then Feather Fall.
Okay, she cannot see you.
So technically, as I've learned in the corner case scenarios,
can't make an opportunity to attack something
you can't see necessarily, I believe.
I'm going to go for that in this circumstance anyway.
So swings wide, thinking you're in the same space you are,
doesn't realize that you were going to jump right back off
the same balcony you came from and as you
out of the dark orb off the side of this dust surround,
like cloud-encased fortress,
fall three stories down,
kind of tumbling backward,
riding yourself in the middle of the air
as your bones crack into place.
It's like when you see cats fall in slow motion.
It's kind of like that,
but I kind of like crack my bones and then land.
And slip around.
You're a cat?
I'm a cat.
Falling as the shape and the flashes of the battlefield
in the middle of the main courtyard
of the Seated of Stain comes into focus below you,
you stop yourself and land right on the ground.
Just as
as you're rushing towards the front,
you see suddenly a shape drop.
Ah!
We hit the brakes.
Oh.
Come here.
Hey, I think they were driving around on that thing.
Let's go.
Okay.
Where's everybody else?
I don't know.
Imogen?
In the interim,
the rest of you who have been inside this fortress,
you have Artana alongside you
and you have a hole wrapped up
that contains currently Armand Treshi.
What are you doing?
Can we hear her roughly?
Like, are we going through the hole now?
She's reappeared.
She's reappeared?
She reappeared on the opposite side of you by the stairs.
Okay.
And basically was like, let's go.
So she's leading the way, more or less?
Okay, I'm getting in front of Imogen
to take the brunt of any shit that comes at Imogen
because she's got the holes.
Okay, so the rest of you, the three of you,
along with following her lead, end up coming up the stairs, the, so the rest of you, the three of you, along with, following her lead,
end up coming up the stairs,
the grate itself still open as you push through.
Immediately coming up, you can see two of the
Paragon's Call around the corner and see her weapons out,
like, oh shit, and as they go to draw,
she immediately fires.
For the size of this crossbow,
the speed in which she can reload and fire is insane.
But she takes two shots, one in each of these.
Not great, but she's thoughtful.
Should've put a cloak on.
Is she stacked?
Still pretty good.
It's a heavy crossbow.
It's a heavy crossbow.
So her muscles, she's got to be.
Yeah, like, from what you can't see between the armor
is a series of back muscles
that would make any of us jealous.
Hated silver.
And what's interesting, too,
is that the heavy crossbow that she has,
it has this heavy crank circumstance
where it fires and then immediately grabs underneath,
almost like taking a shotgun and.
It just cranks over and then already has it ready
for the secondary bolt.
Yeah, it's still going.
So first shot hits.
This does one of these.
Both still hit.
Need to learn how to whistle.
12 damage to one, and then 10 damage to the other.
So both of them take a hit.
They're going to go ahead and move forward.
Are you guys doing anything,
or are you going to help out,
or are you going to wait for them to finish the scrimmage
and move past? What are you doing?
I think we'll just, well, I'm not doing anything
but following and letting her deal what's ahead of us
and making sure that she doesn't turn around
on the hole bearer.
Okay.
Unless I hear from the boss.
All right.
So now they're going to both take a round.
They rush forward towards her
and she's going ahead to reload.
They're both going to go ahead and take...
I'm not here.
This one's going to take a dagger attack.
I'm going to say in Artana's head,
play along.
Play along?
Uh-huh. Okay.
And I'm going to run up and tackle her.
Okay.
And yell at the guards,
we've got this covered.
Go help everyone in front.
I'm going to fucking.
Yeah, I'll come up and and I kick her in the butt.
Make a deception check with advantage
because you're getting help from Chetney on this one.
Yeah!
It's going to be pretty high.
That's right.
Because they're ready to keep good health.
24.
24.
24 will do it.
You had to roll over 20
because they're ready to just unload on her weapons
out and ready. She comes down
and it looks like, oh yeah, I'm opening her up!
Get outside!
She crumbles to the ground and is now laying flat
over the crossbow.
They both start reaching into their pouch
to bring out what looks to be chains and manacles.
Go! We have this handled!
They throw the manacles down.
They put her back in the cell below.
Yeah, good idea.
They both go, continuing down the hall
where they were headed to go ahead
and get some sort of equipment
that they weren't quite ready for.
What do you do now that she's here?
She needs a cloak, right?
Yeah, let's put, I'm going to say,
I'm not going to really lock these,
but we're going to act like we're putting these
on your wrists.
Make a persuasion check.
Was it one set or multiple, just one?
One set they were pulling out.
I'm assuming you have an exit plan.
I did, until you showed up.
15?
No, 19.
Ooh, that's better.
I hope you know what you're doing.
All right.
If you're having a rendezvous with somebody,
we could also stick a cloak on you,
but now you're manacled,
so do you have a specific place you need to be?
Well, I was going to exit through one of the upper balconies,
but it's hard to do with a group this size.
No, don't fuck that up.
It's all terrible upstairs.
Let's get out of here.
If we have another cloak,
we can just put it over top of her.
Oh yeah, let's go to our room.
It's like a- All the way, right?
Yeah.
Plus, there's probably a bunch of dead birds around.
You headed the room.
Yeah. Oh. There's dead birds everywhere. In the hallway. In Yeah. Plus, there's probably a bunch of dead birds around. Yeah.
There's dead birds everywhere.
In the hallway.
In the hall, downstairs there was.
Oh yeah, yeah.
I tried to help.
Somebody turned invisible.
Well.
But we have cloaks in the room.
I'm going to help her up and save.
You're all wearing your cloaks,
so you don't have any extra cloaks in your room,
I don't believe.
You just have the ones that you're wearing.
Here, take mine.
This teeny one.
Little bib.
Run! Let's one. Little bib. Run!
Let's get out of here.
I grab her by the arm as we start running and say,
We're the Bells Hells. We're not with you.
You're with us. Come on!
Y'all!
To the trailer!
She like,
Drop!
Drop!
Smash cut to title.
Sheath.
Suicide Squad.
As you hear that, she goes,
fine, do me a favor of at least picking up my weapon.
Ooh!
It's pretty hefty.
Yeah, I start doing it.
Oh man, I got a lot of shit in my hands.
I'll take it, you can have that thing.
Yeah, thanks.
Stronger than you anyway.
Yep.
I'm good.
Oh yeah!
Would my Imogen be right about this time? Right about now.
Imogen?
Is everything all right?
We commandeered a crawler.
Great, we got Treshi.
We're on our way out.
Meet us out front.
All right.
Our ton of voe in tow.
Whoa! Go!
Oh!
What the fuck was the squeak about?
What was the squeak?
Stay there, there.
We are bringing our ton of voe.
Oh! Hey, look what this lever does.
Oh no!
Jesus Christ!
Brandon, it's Brandon!
Oh, sure, hit it.
Okay.
You all begin to rush past down the hall,
past the war room, and as you're passing the war room,
you see as Ratanish steps around the corner and goes,
You caught her?
That's right.
Where are you taking her?
I'm going to throw Artana at him.
Throw? Whoa!
You're going to what?
I'm pushing Artana towards Ratanish.
Whoa. Okay. So you push. You're going to what? I'm pushing Artana towards Rutanish. Whoa.
Okay.
So you push. You're betraying her already?
That was so fast!
All of the people of Outsider on her side!
No, they're not.
I think she's using it as a distraction.
She's an assassin. She works alone.
We'll find out.
So you throw her towards Rutanish.
You have her weapon and...
Chetney has it. Sorry, you have a weapon.
As she gets pushed into his arms,
he goes ahead and grasps the chain and looks at her and goes,
Good work.
Oh, you have no idea what you've done.
Oh shit.
And begins to try and drag her by that point,
at which point she pulls out of the manacles
and turns invisible once more and vanishes.
Okay, okay.
What? Shit!
Where'd she go? Found out!
Find her! Find her!
Look outside!
She cannot be too far!
Dammit! Undo the betrayal.
Undo the betrayal.
He runs back to the war room and goes
for a large greataxe that you see is set on the main table
and begins charging back into the chamber.
What the rest of you are doing at this point?
I'm saying in her head,
hmm, nope.
I have to see her in order to get the connection,
so I can't do that. Yeah, nope.
Well, hopefully she understood that we knew
our hands weren't tied.
Out the front door, like, we're going after you.
Orym is sticking to Imogen like glue
and I'm listening as hard as I can for Beau.
Okay.
Make a perception check with me.
Okay.
With advantage or not, because she's invisible?
She's invisible for sound.
I'd say just make a straight roll for this.
Also in the chaos of all the sound around you,
trying to pick up a specific element.
Not great. 11.
11? Okay, yeah.
It's hard to make out much of anything
beyond the footsteps and the shouts
and the sound of dust outside.
The dust storm is clearing up a little bit,
those who are on the outskirts.
It's still blowing through,
but it's not in its deepest, darkest state yet.
It looks like it's starting to find at least a pocket
where it's not quite as intense.
You don't know if it's the end of the storm
or if you're just finding a brief lull in it,
but a little bit of the sunlight's
starting to peek through a little bit.
While the rest of you push past the two front doors,
you can see there are now three guards out there
who are in the process of reloading their rifles.
One of them sits around the corner, jumps out,
takes a big old shot, and then darts back around,
sweat on his face.
You can see the dust and dirt is now crusting
from where the sweat is gathered on the eyes.
He has to wipe his face off.
He looks at you.
Get out there! Help us!
No problem! Let's go!
Let's go!
Have any of the walls been blown open at this point?
It's still all standing.
Of course, these are very, very well-reinforced walls.
Can I just turn to Ashton and Fearne and,
wait, are you with us, too?
I am.
We got to open the gate.
How do we do that?
Can someone go ahead and do that?
Is there, it's all happening at the front gate
or the back gate? It's happening from both sides?
There are two gates.
The one that it's happening near now
is the one where you came in.
There isn't really a front gate.
There's just two different ones,
but this is the one that you've used the most often.
The other one is facing a less public area
of the street necessarily, but it's not as often used.
And which one has the gigantic monster crawler next to it?
The front one. The front one.
The one that you're using. We should go to the other.
Other one, yeah.
Also, how long has it been since we...
Oh, put Treshi in the hole.
Put Treshi in the hole. No, no, no.
It's only been like...
It's been so fast.
It's probably been like three minutes.
It's been about a minute.
Oh god, not even close.
A minute to two minutes, I'd say, since then.
So, resurrecting?
So, something's very quick.
So we wait until nine minutes or so, and we check.
Yeah, we're going to run to the back gate.
Yeah, I quickly just tell Imogen,
new plan, back gate.
Help me out.
All right.
Got it.
So the crawler, as you
begins to push its way through the dust,
past the array of combat happening to the,
where it will be now to the right of you
as you move beyond
that one entryway gate.
Is there actual combat happening on the ground, by the way?
Right now, you don't see combat on the ground.
There aren't any shock troops.
There's no idea of people coming into a storm.
They're staying along the wall and just harrying people.
All right, so there's no one to run over.
The crawlers have ACs, right?
They do.
So is it considered, like, if I cast Shield of Help on it,
it's not a, is it a creature?
It is considered a creature.
Okay, I'll, like, bonus action, cast Shield of Help,
Shield of Faith on the crawler.
Okay.
Just so it doesn't take any damage as we go around.
Okay, you got it.
Okay, so you go ahead and
cast it. This little, like, kind of weird
shimmering energy
kind of encircles the outside of its metal form
and then clings to it, leaving this kind of
faint glowing film to it, reinforcing its
capability to withstand damage.
As the crawler begins to tear through
the space and head towards, around the
courtyard, you can see there are
others now getting on,
not on skirmish crawlers at this point,
they wouldn't be helping them at this.
They're just gathering more weaponry
and you can see a couple of them have catapults
that are set up on the back
that they're in the process of loading now.
They're going to attack their own walls
to try and stop these people,
but it's going to take them a while to set that up.
What are you guys doing?
The rest of you are on foot, so you're behind.
We still have, I mean,
we can get to the, we, are you talking to us,
Matt? On the crawler? You three
are on the crawler. Yeah. And you're with them in the crawler as well?
Yes, in the crawler. That is, there is, all the
room there is, and the crawler's not moving at a great
speed with that many people, so.
Do we jump ship, or do we? No, we
don't jump ship. This is the way out. Okay,
go to the back. How far are we from that back gate?
You're maybe about 120 feet or so.
You can get there pretty quick.
But someone's going to have to open it.
Do you want to be an animal and dash up ahead
and open it or something?
What if you're rammed?
We can open it. We can open it.
No, that's not enough.
The ramming won't actually be enough.
Is there a lock on it?
You're not close enough to really see,
but as you approach, you can take a look.
It probably cranks.
We'll get a little closer.
Yeah, we'll...
The two buff people get to crank real quick?
I'll hop off once we get there.
Okay.
So as you approach and spin off to the side,
the leg is digging in a bit to stop
before you slam into it.
The secondary gate, while smaller than the front gate,
is built in a similar reinforced way.
And there are cranks and what looks like two sets of chains
that work through this pulley system
to pull them apart and open.
However, in the process of the siege,
as it is standard procedure,
there are a number of bars and elements
that have now been placed to keep it shut and defensible
from the inside.
Okay.
Do we have any more TNT?
That's a lot of TNT. We do.
We have, we passed them out.
Yeah, we passed out the TNT, I think, for the,
but I don't know who all threw it.
I threw one in the fight.
Do I have four left, then?
I got one.
I'm not with you.
I think I've got one.
I am going to try with my ring
to cast Telekinesis and try to pull one of the gates open.
Pull one of the gates open? Okay.
What's the strength on the ring?
It can...
Is Telekinesis?
A thousand pounds.
Whoa, okay.
That door weighs a little more than that,
but you begin to pull on it.
That will help other attempts,
as you're using that to focus and yank on it.
You can see the chains and the metal bars
that are placed into it to keep it braced from this side
shift a bit.
And what little bit of gap or room there was
for them to wiggle is now brought to a tense point
as the doors are now pulled against that brace.
Ashton.
Is anybody watching, by the way?
I'm going to turn. Right now, their focus,
it seems, is largely to the assault
on the opposite side of the courtyard.
Okay, I'm raging and I'm going to hit this thing.
Learning another rage.
Here we go.
All righty.
Should I remove the bars here?
I know, but lift the bars.
Why don't you try to kill the bars?
Oh, well, then I get my strength, so I'll rage and try.
Well, it's up to you. You can attack it if you want to.
While you're raging, you have advantage on strength checks.
Oh, well, in that case, yeah.
Or you can break it.
I mean, it's your call, man.
You're the Barbarian, you tell me.
Booosh!
How tough do these things look?
I mean, it's reinforced to defend.
Okay, then I'm going to try and lift the damn thing.
I'm just seeing what I got to.
Look, I just don't want you to miss a chance
to fight a door. Oh yeah.
It's really, it's a cherished pastime, really.
I'm trying to find a thing
just because there's too many things here.
Get your vengeance, bro.
Ooh, are there ones that are too find a thing, just because there's too many things here. Get your vengeance, bro. Ooh.
Are there ones that are too high to hit, out of curiosity?
There are. There are three braces on it.
One of them looks like it had a latch that was pulled
that caused it to fall into the higher brace,
because it was just out of range.
That one's about 10 feet up.
And then there's a central one that's about seven feet up,
and one that's about the three and a half foot mark.
And it's three metal braces.
I'm going to start at the top one.
And because I hit my,
hit my rage and suddenly I become mildly translucent
in the head as I get that portal shift. And I'm going to do a wormhole strike at the top one
and try and see if I can knock it
either out or break it, try and knock it out of its way.
That's great. All right, yeah.
So go ahead and make, you're essentially portaling your,
if you want to, as opposed to a weapon,
you can portal your, this is full on Dragon Ball Z shit,
you can portal your arms up to it
and try and lift it from a distance.
Yeah, I'm going to try and just do a big shove
and see if I can get it out.
Go ahead and make a strength check for me with advantage.
All right.
We got lucky on that roll.
Portal.
Yeah.
Finally.
23.
23.
So as you look up towards it, you focus.
There's a spark on the side of your head
as you punch your arms forward,
and they just vanish into a dark hole.
And up above, you watch as the brace
gets knocked off off and these arms
kind of just appear out of nowhere, lifted up in the air
and then we withdraw them.
So the highest brace is now removed.
Is the second one
the second one that's seven feet up?
Look, that's not
reachable with a hit, is it?
I'd say it would be with disadvantage.
I'm going to use another
chaos burst instead of trying to if it doesn't look liftable or is it? It looks liftable. I'm going to use another Chaos Burst instead of trying to, does it look liftable or is it?
It looks liftable.
I'm going to give one more run,
but instead of using my hands,
I'm going to see if I can just knock it out
with a fucking baseball bat.
Sure, go for it.
All right. I'll do a strength check.
Mm-hmm. Would that be a strength check?
Yes, it would be. All right.
While he's doing all of this,
I'm just looking backwards, just scanning for the others.
You see them in a distance.
They're nowhere near as fast as the Crawler.
20. 20?
20 is the DC for this.
So you're like, whack!
Another heavy golf swing upward,
cracks into it and.
It looks like it's about to clatter back down,
but then it just stays up.
There's just enough resistance to hold it,
elevated.
With the next rattle, you're uncertain
if it's going to fall in a way you like or a way you don't.
But one way to find out.
It's definitely not braced at the moment.
I think that's two hits, though.
That's the end of my turn, isn't it?
That is, but we're not in a combat round here.
If anybody else wants to throw anything else
into the process, feel free to jump in.
We're not an initiative here.
Are we there yet?
Are we there yet? Nope.
No, we're running.
So there's another few braces?
There's one last brace that's around the 3 1⁄2.
And there's one that's a little iffy right now.
And there's one that's up and just teetering.
If we hit it with a leg or something?
Is there a rock on the ground?
I can shoot something. Yeah, there's a rock.
Shoot something at it!
Okay, I'll attach the bolt thrower
and I'll just try to shoot it so it falls the right way.
Great, go ahead and roll an attack.
Okay.
10 plus six, I think?
16? No, it's 10 plus three, 13.
It ricochets off the door,
not heavy enough to cause it to jiggle one way or the other,
but it still stands.
Sorry. Scorching Ray. Scorching Ray? Going to burn it to jiggle one way or the other, but it still stands. Sorry.
Scorching Ray.
Scorching Ray.
Going to burn it open.
Burn it open.
Burn it open?
Wait, isn't it? Sure.
It's like this? It's doing this.
Yeah, it's on like a hook.
Just throw a rocket.
It's like a bus on a freeway,
like in an action movie.
I'm just going to burn it.
Just burn it to the ground. I'm going to cast Bane on just going to burn it to the ground.
I'm going to cast Bane on it.
It's the second goblin, and you're tall,
so you can probably push it.
Yeah, it's true.
I'm going to run over and try to push it.
You're pretty tall.
I'll say, are you leaping to try and catch it?
Because it's just out of reach for you.
Yes, I'll do a mirthful leap, jump up and boom.
That will definitely be enough to do it.
Yes.
So just make a basic strength check for me.
This isn't a high DC.
Okay.
Just you have to meet a certain level,
a base level to get it to move as part of a mirthful equal.
Okay.
Six.
Six, okay.
Okay.
You reach up and you tag it.
As you do, it kind of like
begins to move from its mooring.
No!
I need you to roll a d6 for me.
On a one to four, it falls the direction you want it to.
On a five or six, it falls back into the brace.
But because you didn't roll a five or lower,
what'd you get?
Five. Five?
First!
I'm going to, ah, fuck!
Back into the brace.
Okay, that was not what I wanted it to do,
but let's see.
Can somebody else do something?
Is donkey's ring a one-time only, one a day?
You guys could knock over the red Dixie cup.
No! That was working. I assume you're all coming, too. Is Donkey's Ring a one-time only, one a day? You guys could knock over the red Dixie cup.
No!
That's working!
I assume you're all coming, too.
We're way back there.
We're like, we're like an exit of a parking lot,
and that thing is just,
we can't get around!
So it has fallen back into place.
It has fallen back into place.
It doesn't say that my telekinesis in the ring
is one time a day.
You do concentrate on it.
I mean, telekinesis is a concentration spell.
So if you want to, yeah, you could just use that to do it.
Oh.
Now the brace does move easy with that.
There you go.
And there's one brace left?
There is. Do it again.
Do it at the bottom brace.
There you go. I, this would have been, I it at the bottom brace. There you go.
I, this would have been, I've-
I hate all of you.
It's about this time
that the rest of your troop catches up to you,
covered in sand and dust.
Come on, come on, come on.
Let's go, let's go.
We can't all fit in.
No, we're not taking it.
We're going and we're going to shut it behind us.
Let's go, go, go.
Wait, we're not taking the car?
We can't all fit on it, let's go.
Some of us can.
Take the car.
Take the car if you want to, go. Take the car to not taking the car? Dude, can't all fit on it. Let's go. Some of us can. Take the car.
I'm staying on this. Take the car if you want to.
Go! Take the car to Jost.
Maybe go tiny. You can be in the car.
Go tiny.
I can also.
Go to get in. You're the car.
Just go!
Get to Jost!
Get to Jost! Try to open the door.
Okay, so there are the dual chain cranks.
You have to go over and like.
Yep, I'll do the other one.
I'll go in. Okay.
So we have the doors.
Give me the package!
We have to. Orm is turning around
and using his 26 passive perception
to listen for Vole in front of her.
Okay. Just waiting.
Roll a persuasion check with advantage for me.
Persuasion?
Sorry. Perception?
Perception.
Good.
That is 24. Come on, trust me.
No. 24.
Now, the dust is not entirely clear,
but it's not as heavily intense as it was.
Glancing about, you can see
there's still some skirmishes happening,
but it looks like it's getting lighter along the walls
on the opposite side.
You see one shape dart from the fortress to the wall,
arc over.
I meant the artana.
Good, she got out.
So? Fine.
Where are we going?
Let's get our people out and shut the door behind us.
You've got the fucking ring.
So yeah, if we get through,
I'm just going to try and shut this thing
and if we can knock one of those things back in place.
Yeah, I'm going to just pick up one of the bars again
and then just put it back in.
So the only means of really closing it
with the wench is on the inside.
So if you're going to try and push it closed,
that's going to be a strength check from you
with the help of your telekinesis.
All right. Or we can just go.
Just go. Yeah, let's just try.
It's hard to close it from the outside.
Okay, fuck it.
Imogen, you won't give me the guy, so it's fine.
No, no, no, you take the car. Take the scarf.
It's okay. Yes, and, no, you take the car. Take the scarf. You take the car, it's okay.
Yes, and you have that crate.
Yes.
And you guys got Treshi?
Yeah, where are we going?
Then get on the car and we'll meet you at Joe's.
Going to Joe's.
Okay, going to Joe's. Joe's?
We're going? Who's driving?
You know how to drive it. I will.
Yeah. Okay.
You can track a skirmisher to Joe's, I'm just saying.
Yes.
The track? Marked fucking skirmisher. Yeah, fuck it. I'm just saying. Yes. Is the track any easier?
Marked fucking Skirmisher.
Yeah, fuck it.
I feel like we should. Really?
Should abandon it at some point.
I'm leaving it. I'm running.
I'm running to Jell-O.
Yeah, let's go, let's go.
We just abandon the Skirmisher?
You abandon the Skirmisher there?
No, we're not going to abandon it.
What are you talking about?
Why would we abandon it?
They have the Skirmisher then.
Let's take it halfway.
Let's take it halfway.
It's faster than us.
Okay, so who's on the skirmisher?
Okay. One, two.
We're switching. We're switching drivers.
Okay, but you're still on it?
I don't know if I'm allowed to.
If you're the slowest, then you're on it.
You didn't trust me a second ago.
I see you just get on.
I shouldn't trust me either.
Jesus, I'm just going.
Somebody better get on this thing.
Is it full?
No, there's only two of us now on this thing.
There's two people on it right now, currently.
It's just the two of them.
And he's little, and you're light, so get on.
All right, I jump on with Orym and...
Okay, so the three of you are on the skirmisher.
Sure. And the rest of you are on foot?
Yep. Okay, cool.
So one, two, three.
Okay, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
The throttle's a little tricky.
You and your boss are on foot.
The clutch is a little sticky.
No, it's fine, I know, I get it.
Okay, I'm going to get in with them.
Okay, so you get in the scrimmage as well?
Yeah. Okay.
So it's the four of you.
Okay, now as you're outside of the gate,
are you going to the right or left?
We're going towards Joss.
Towards Joss, and where you're standing
would be to the right, probably.
Okay. Okay.
So you turn around and begin to turn past that space,
and right as you turn the corner back into the main thoroughfare,
there's a shape waiting for you,
right where that opens up.
Artana?
You see a figure's cloak whipping.
Right as you come tearing in
and the lights of the sand begin to apparate,
you see the familiar gray hair and red cloak
of Otohan Ful just standing there, right in your way.
As you begin to try and slow it down,
she darts forward and just blades out,
starts striking up against the crawler's side.
Currently has a plus two to AC.
It does.
Still hits on the two attacks.
The third one also hits and is going to...
Can we jump off?
Can I just jump off?
Hold on a second.
You want to get a big trackable vehicle now?
We can in a second.
We'll get to that in a second.
And it's going to go ahead and offhand attack as well.
Sorry.
Natural 20.
Really sorry.
Silvery Barbs.
Snap.
Silvery Barbs on that one?
Yes.
Okay. Disadvantage on it? Disadvantage.
Okay, still hits, but not a crit.
You got it.
And the next advantage is for Imogen
on your next attack.
Next attack? Okay, got it.
So still for that, that's damage on...
All my spells are not attack.
I'm safe.
Well, let's get creative.
Okay.
Roll a...
The skirmisher that you were on,
the front wheel is destroyed.
Okay. All right.
Now, there are rules for the front wheel,
those of you who still have the skirmisher sheet on it.
Oh, wee.
Yep. Okay, yeah, that's good.
That's good.
Nope. Let's me. Nope.
Let's see.
Front wheel has an AC of 21, 25 hit points.
Its resistibility can only be damaged by a target.
If the wheel is destroyed while moving,
the skirmish crawler's speed is reduced to 10 feet
and must make a DC 12 dexterity saving throw
or tumble and explode, causing all creatures riding
to make a DC 12 dexterity saving throw.
Okay, so we all.
A fuck ton of fire damage.
So roll for the skirmisher you're on.
I'm not on it, so. Oh, sorry. Roll for the skirmisher you're on. I'm not on it, so.
Or is that a thing?
Roll for the skirmisher.
Correct.
And I have to roll what?
This is a save.
Yeah, the dexterity save on there is?
DC 12.
So go ahead and roll and add the dexterity modifier
of the skirmisher.
What's the dexterity?
Minus one.
That would be 10.
So as Otohan carves through the blades,
like a spinning whirlwind in the air,
and then landing behind,
the skirmisher wheel up.
The wheel splits apart,
and then digs right into the dirt ground.
The back of the legs fling forward
as all of you get pulled forward
as it grinds into the dirt,
throwing all of you from the back of the vehicle.
Everyone who's on the car,
I need you to roll a dexterity saving throw.
DC 12.
100%.
Just like that.
Nope.
No saving.
12. Roll and slap.
Oh!
It was so good, and then it wasn't terrible.
12, so that's a success.
Really? It failed.
Seven. Seven, fail.
10.
Fail. Four.
Fail. So they take how much damage? 4d6. 4d6 fail. 10. Fail. Four. Fail.
So they take how much damage?
4d6.
4d6 damage.
Fire.
As it explodes around you.
This is a shitty roll.
That's 10 points of fire damage to those who failed,
and five to the success, which is Laudna.
As you all,
How much?
As the vehicle, the skirmisher,
just detonates upon the impact,
the flames swirl around you,
and you all end up tumbling in the dirt,
spinning over and over before coming to rest,
while the rest of you who weren't on it
now went to chase and follow suit,
and you see this fiery explosion,
and it eats shit and gets destroyed,
your friend's thrown from it,
and there, standing in the ground,
you see Otohan stand up,
the two blades at the side of the cloak just
flapping in the breeze.
Um.
At which point, she looks back at both sides,
has blades out to both, and goes,
Let's have a conversation, shall we?
And you watch as there's this weird
flicker in the back underneath where the cloak is.
And these dark shapes appear.
Three dark shadowy versions of her appear
in the space around where she is.
All wearing the same dark gray armor,
but somehow darker.
Dark grays and blacks.
That's where we're going to go to break.
Oh shit!
This table is on fire.
Matt, you are on fire.
Oh my god. Holy shit.
Chaos. Whoa.
I love this game.
All right, we'll come back here in a few minutes
and pick up from this bit.
Yeah, enjoy your break. We'll see you soon.
Wow.

Speaking of which, let's get back to the story.
And welcome back.
So, as you all stand scattered on each side
of Otohan's funeral.
We didn't talk about this.
We didn't talk about anything during the break.
Still pushing through.
Blades out and these strange, shimmering, dark
figures appearing around her.
He's suffocating.
He's trashing, he's going to suffocate.
Otohan looks to both sides expectantly.
What do you do?
I am going to use my bonus action
to regain my 4th-level spell with sorcery points.
Okay. I'm going to push up and use Second Wind
to get some hit points back.
Go for it.
The rest, does she,
but does it feel like she has spotted the rest of our team?
Oh, very much so.
She's, after cutting through and you guys rushed out through
to follow suit, you ran out and then she was right there. We ran out on either side. She's, after cutting through and you guys rushed out through to follow suit,
you ran out and then she was right there.
She's got a sword pointed at each of us.
Both sides.
So, oh god.
I'm going to do sympathetic binding with,
who's facing her?
I mean, everyone, technically.
We're split. We're like,
But they're ahead of us.
Oh, they're ahead of you guys.
So on your side,
on your side, is whoever was not on the crawler.
Am I within?
How much time has passed?
Six seconds. 30 feet of them?
Since we got him, probably like three minutes.
No, I'd say you're about 45 to 50 feet
from the rest of them since they got thrown
from the vehicle in the opposite direction.
Can I get closer?
If you want to approach Otohan, you can.
I won't do it.
How far are we from Otohan?
Is she like...
Your group's about 30 feet from her on one side.
The rest of you are about 20 to 30 feet from that side
since the vehicle will actually probably be
the other way around, 20 feet for the rest of the group. For the people that were on the crawler, you're about 35, 40 feet from that side, since the vehicle, actually, it'd probably be the other way around, 20 feet for the rest of the group.
For the people that were on the crawler,
you're about 35, 40 feet from her,
because you got thrown after the vehicle hit the ground.
It's like an alleyway or it's just a street?
It's like a T intersection on the outside of the wall,
and there's a street that crosses there.
You guys came out of the gate, turned to the right,
and then she was right there waiting, cut you,
and then you were thrown off this way.
So now there's technically,
you're kind of near an intersection of streets
with the wall of the Paragon's Call Seat of Disdain
right there at the edge.
And the two groups are the two sides of the table, right?
We're the blowed up group,
and you guys are on the crawler.
Technically, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm going to move closer and just bind with Imogen.
Just bind him.
Okay.
Just bind him.
You want a conversation?
You better start talking before that jaw's removed
from your skull.
You impressed me with your brazen infiltration.
Brash can have its merits.
Over well plotted.
We who think too far ahead, it seems,
can miss what stands right before us, yes?
Who sent you?
Who is your employer?
She takes a few more steps in your direction.
I step in front of Imogen.
Okay.
I'm going to hold my hand out.
The shadowed versions,
which now you can see are versions of her.
They're dark, shadowed versions of her body,
bereft of a lot of color, just in grays and blacks.
There's faint flickering to it a little bit.
Do they move as she moves,
or do they move independently?
They move independently, though the movement is similar.
I step by Imogen as well.
Orym.
You've seen these assassins before.
Oh shit!
It just got interesting.
Before it was not interesting. Underneath Otohan,
I don't know who it is.
the ground is going to rip open
and red light's going to pour out
and just a sphere of storm is going to erupt around her.
And I'm casting...
I'm casting Hungry Torrent.
Okay.
You're casting what?
Exquisme. So, as this kind of... Well, here we go. Okay. You're casting what? Exquisite.
So, as this dark red rift flash opens up
So, as this dark red rift flash opens up
and this deep red and purple light
begins to swirl around Otohan
as she walks forward in the direction of all of you,
there's a look of recognition in her eyes
as it begins to swarm around.
What is the DC on this?
This is, oh, fuck.
It's a dexterity, which I'm sure she's going to be.
Okay, and what's the radius on it?
It's a 20-foot radius.
20 foot, so all of the other versions
technically would fall into this.
So she
succeeds with a 20, sorry, 19. Okay.
The other ones, natural 16,
17, and one of them fails with a 12.
Okay.
Are there four extra people or three extra?
It's her and three extras.
Okay.
All right.
They take half damage of 3d6 lightning damage.
Okay.
Two of them immediately dissipate.
Okay. And are destroyed.
So she takes seven points of lightning damage.
And then, I guess, nothing else is affected.
Wait, the other one took half damage as well?
Yes, anything that took...
Okay, so all three are destroyed.
Oh, okay. They're just like,
Well, that was easy.
scatter. Oh.
And as the tentrils lick around her
and she strikes it off.
Now, is this a concentration spell?
Does it maintain itself in the space?
Yes.
Okay, so they're still like.
You watch in this storm area,
there are these long, almost whip-like tendrils
of dark purple-red energy that just
almost like lightning that moves,
then it's frozen in place,
and then moves again and freezes in place.
And it seems to be almost trying to wrap around
whatever's nearby, almost like one of the Ghostbusters
proton cannon that just
tries to wrap around and pull.
And as it begins to whip around her,
she just glances towards you.
Hello again.
Oh shit.
I'm standing by Imogen.
A little closer to Orym.
She takes another step towards Imogen.
That's enough.
Who sent you?
With everything that's going on while she's staring,
Orym has also not forgotten about Artana Vo
and is still just listening, listening.
Make a wisdom saving throw for me.
Shit.
15. 15.
So the few times,
I'm trying to remember,
the times that you've had Imogen
glance through your mind,
has she appeared into your mind before?
She says she hasn't.
So this is a new sensation.
You let me do it.
You welcomed me in one time.
Oh, well, you've got all these different things you can do.
We've talked, but is that different
than showing you things?
Mm-hmm.
And I showed you things once?
On purpose, right? Mm-hmm.
Okay.
In a familiar but more intrusive way,
you feel like a cold icicle begins to push into your mind.
She asks forcibly once more,
Who do you work for?
Who sent you?
And you try and resist, and it pushes through,
and for a second, you feel like you've lost all grip
on your will, your strength,
and then it's gone.
Oh.
That brief burst of headache slips from you
and you're back in control.
In that moment, she looks at you.
Eshteross.
Ooh.
Interesting.
Not to pay him a visit.
That old fool meddles far beyond his aspirations.
Oh shit.
What do you know of me?
Of this?
You can answer these questions,
or I take the answers from you.
Yeah, clearly.
We don't know anything.
We didn't even know you were here. Little deception check.
Can I help her since I'm binded to her?
How do you help?
I invoke Trusted Companion.
I, what is it?
Yeah, Trusted Companion.
I'm going to give her a bonded blessing of a d6.
Okay, so you can add a d6 to the roll, if you like.
Okay.
Okay.
18.
18?
But as I do, I back up and go,
Ah!
Yeah.
I have a hard time believing
that you would not know that the leader of the group
that you've infiltrated was present,
especially given the face time I've had
with a number of you since your arrival.
Are you starting your turn?
It's been six seconds.
You're going to take another 3d6 lightning damage
if you stay in there.
She's going to stay there and take it.
Wow.
Wow. Should we make another save? Yeah. Keeping track of the hole? if you stay in there. She's going to stay there and take it. Wow! Wow!
Make another save? Yeah.
Keeping track of the hole?
Are we in loose combat turns here,
or are we in a low?
Right now, it's on the cusp of initiative.
Okay. Conversation, so.
Oh, you're the leader of this establishment?
Mm-hmm.
That's 18, unless she saves.
She does not.
She doesn't save?
She doesn't save.
Then she takes the full 18, and she is restrained.
She restrained?
Uh-huh.
She's restrained until the spell ends.
She'll use a legendary resistance and then succeed.
Oh shit! She's big. She'll use a legendary resistance and succeed. Oh shit!
She's going to take nine.
Ooh!
SAM and LAURA, and I think she's going to go,
Well. Moving up, moving up.
Yeah.
Perhaps the rest of you are weak,
like the sheep who bleed to be saved by some higher power.
Yeah, that's true.
You are worthy of only ashes, then.
Three more of those same versions
just reappear around her.
Are they in the ball?
Run! No, they are not,
and we're rolling initiative.
Oh, fuck! We should run!
Oh god! We got to run.
We got to run!

Oh, look, our crawler's already knocked over.
That is so gorgeous.
The lance on the wire.
What?
Wow.
Fucking awesome, Matt.
Damn. Oh my Fucking awesome, Matt.
Damn!
Oh my god.
Ooh, crystals.
Look at them crates and barrels and shit in the street.
Oh, come on.
All right, and the rest of you
that are over on this space here.
Ding dong.
Uh-oh. Oh no.
Oh, it's your magnet.
I'm going to take that off at the time being.
There we go.
That works. I'll eat that off for this time being. There we go. That works.
I'll eat that off for this battle.
Oh boy.
His power is weakened.
I don't have any spells left, guys.
Oh no. I'm almost out, too, actually.
Ashton, you're over here, right?
I was near.
We're running, right? We got to run?
We have to. We have to run.
Run, run, run.
Orym's directing.
We got to do a little combat to see what she's got.
The people who have crushing.
I am curious how many hits it'll take to TKO you.
Oh god, she's running forward.
So we split and try and run.
Her mini is running out of the sky.
Her mini is perpetually running.
It's exhausting to be here.
She's like a shark.
She's nothing but cardio.
And where does the radius need to be placed?
20-foot radius.
I don't know, around the block.
And it's two of the assassins?
Three.
Didn't she say that?
Oh, another one's being placed.
Also, is this a spell that's anybody who walks in
or just baddies?
Anybody. Anybody that walks in.
Okay, looks dangerous.
Okay.
Initiative on this.
Ooh! Initiative.
All right.
Oh god.
Oh, shit.
25 to 20.
Cool.
Not good. All right.
Yep. So I think Otohan Not good. All right. Yep. So I think Otohan
is there. All right.
20 to 15.
17.
Mm.
Wow.
15 to 10.
14. 14.
Roll each one. Which one is higher?
How's the higher dex?
Better just roll this one. 14.
16.
So Ashton.
Okay. And then Chetney.
10 to five. Oh wait, no, I had 11.
You had 11, okay.
Sorry, what was it?
Who was after J?
Jax.
Seven.
Wow. Wow.
Anybody above seven? Okay. Hold on a chance. Seven. Wow. Wow. Anybody above seven?
Okay.
Hold on, okay.
Okay.
All right, who's left?
One.
I rolled a natural one as well,
but that puts me at three.
Okay.
One.
Did you also roll that one?
Yep. Oh boy.
Hot table's done.
Cold table, cold table.
Cold table.
Boy. Okay. Remove your chips. The table's done. Cold table, cold table. Cold table.
Boy. Okay.
Remove your chips.
The luck is gone.
Move. Walk away.
Move out.
All righty. FGG.
FGG.
Fucking GG.
Fucking GG.
So. Uh-uh.
Otohan goes first.
Yep. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
We know. Sure.
She's going to go ahead and dart forward. Shh. Right up into this space. Yep. Yeah-hmm, mm-hmm. Sure. She's going to go ahead and dart forward.
Shh!
Right up into this space.
Yep. Yeah, of course she is.
And the echoes are going to go ahead and
Oh god.
Oh god. Okay.
I'm done. I'm going to die.
Oh no.
Does your spear hurt anybody or just anybody?
Anybody. Anybody.
It's going to go up to you first, Ashton.
All the way around.
There we go.
It is going to go ahead and unleash
three weapon attacks and then an offhand strike against you.
I am not still raging anymore?
You are not still raging.
Okay, I've dropped my raid, apparently.
Okay. Three and an arm.
Well, you weren't taking damage
or dealing damage for a while.
No, I was just like, yeah.
That's her?
Yep.
Oh man.
That's a problem.
That is 28 to hit.
Oh yeah, that hits.
Okay.
That is 16 points of slashing damage.
Fuck me.
Plus an additional
nine points of force damage.
Okay, 25.
Second attack is a 18 to hit?
Yep.
Okay.
I might have to have the retraction.
Yeah, I'd like to relay this.
You take 11 points of slashing damage.
Plus seven force.
18.
She might not know me.
Does she even give a fuck about Treshy?
Actually, sorry, no.
You aren't prone.
Reduce the force damage, sorry.
So, okay, one more time, tell me which.
Sorry, it was nine force damage,
and then the last one was?
I don't know. She's giving him the blessing.
I totally forgot in the middle of that.
I think it was, we'll say take off seven.
So take how much? Because I undid it.
Oh, seven, so it would be 11.
It would be 11.
Okay.
Okay.
She's going to kill it.
She could.
Is that right?
Yeah.
Wait, that's not right, is it? Beau was going to kill you.
I may have fucked up some shit.
We'll find out.
I think I may have taken too much damage.
I got confused.
Okay.
Well, we're removing the force damage
because you weren't knocked prone on that, unfortunately.
So we're going to go ahead and instead...
I may have taken an extra 10 points
that I didn't mean to.
It's fine. Yeah.
Take it off.
Yeah, I'm confident enough. It's fine. Yeah. Take it off. Yeah, I'm confident enough.
It's fine.
The third hit is going to be a 19.
Oh yeah, it hits.
Okay.
That is going to be 15 points of slashing damage.
Yep.
And then the echo is going to take in the offhand strike.
So it goes.
And then from the side, the echo strikes as well.
Mm-hmm.
That's going to be a 20 to hit. Yeah. and then from the side, the echo strikes as well for,
that's going to be a 20 to hit.
Yeah. For 14 points of slashing damage.
I'm down. Oh god.
Wait, what? I'm down.
Ashton's down.
He's more than 30 feet away from me.
Barbarian's down, not raging.
I'm down.
I was very high, and I am, if I had fucked,
I don't know if I fucked up that 10,
because I might still be standing without that 10. I don't know if I fucked up that 10, because I might still be standing without that 10.
I don't know if I get the total.
The question's down.
I mean, we got two options.
Oh wait, 60 feet from me, I can do Healing Word.
Okay, cool, cool, cool.
Yeah, so you got that.
That's going to finish their go for this round.
Next up is Orym.
Shit.
I can't slide between. I really want it to be between Imogen and her.
Yeah, she might just want to kill us for being
invasive kind of traits.
She doesn't even know we have.
Let me see.
I am going to use a superiority die and...
No.
Shit, no, I'm not going to do that.
I'm going to move to the space in here,
this little square that's empty already.
Holy shit.
I just had a lot of damage done to me.
Not good.
I was in like...
High 50s, right?
Possibly low 60s.
I'm going to kneel down fast and jam this into Ashton's mouth.
And then stand up, whip around, and slash twice.
I'm going to leap up in the air, slash her, and then kick her off.
And use a superior
and try to push her back in.
So that is a 19 to hit.
19 to hit.
Misses.
Misses.
Yes.
You try and strike and just
parries it with a blade.
Second slash.
What happened? What's wrong?
This one hits.
Took a healing potion and it does it.
Well, let's hope.
That is a 25 to hit.
25 does hit.
And she needs to beat a 15 strength save
for a pushing attack.
19.
Okay, so I'll do my damage.
13 points of damage total. 13 points of damage total.
13 points of damage.
Going to go ahead and use Protective Field.
As you strike, you watch her flex the muscles
in her forehead, and as you go,
there's almost a psychic shield
and absorbs most of the blow.
How much damage was it?
13.
13, reduced by seven.
So she takes six points of damage.
And then I just square off and move my shield up higher
and stand ground.
All righty.
Finishing Orym's go.
Ashton, you are conscious, though prone.
And I'm in the middle if I move anywhere away
from these motherfuckers.
Unless you use your action to disengage.
Okay.
Shit.
Second roll.
Yeah, can I...
I can use my action to disengage on that, then?
You can. And then just try
and back up without standing up? If you want to, yeah. I'm going to disengage, that, then? You can. And then just try and back up without standing up?
If you want to, yeah.
I'm going to disengage, fucking back up.
I cannot believe I'm doing this.
Take a little cover behind that.
Are you going to use half your movement to get up?
Mm...
Do I, can I only move at half movement
if I'm crouched?
Crouched? Yeah, because you're not on your foot.
You know, sure, I'll burn half my movement
and still have 20 paces.
You can get over here if you want to,
like behind this.
Yeah, as long as I can get a little safety there
and fuck, I'm going to rage just for the shit of it.
You think?
Quick quash. Yes.
To give the potion to Ashton,
that makes it a full action
because I was giving it to someone else?
Correct. That means my attacks
were my action surge.
Got it.
I'd somehow assume that, sorry.
My apologies. Yeah.
Pardon me.
My apologies!
All right, finishing your turn.
To take a legendary action, take a strike at Imogen.
Shit. I'm dead.
Are you really? No, but I will be.
That's going to be 22 to hit. Yeah! You take... Shit. I'm dead. Are you really? No, but I will be. That's going to be a 22 to hit.
Yeah.
You take 11 points of slashing damage.
Okay.
And it's going to go ahead and use a psychic strike,
psionic strike on you.
So as Otohan's looking over
at where Ashton's going off
and facing off with Orym, with an unnatural speed,
just glancing over, all of a sudden focuses on you,
and the moment you see a flash of where your eyes met
in that dream, and right as you pull out of that,
you didn't even notice the blade meet you.
So you take 11 points of slashing damage, plus.
Is that an additional 11 points plus the?
Like, so this is another 11 points?
Yes, this is additional psychic damage.
And you need to make a DC 17 strength save, please.
Mm.
Sure, no problem. I'm really strong, so.
Five.
And you are knocked pro.
Mm.
Is that her or her underlings?
So that was 11 damage twice.
Kind of all the same thing.
So I also need you to make a concentration check
on your save. Jesus fucking Christ.
You have to beat a 22.
Beat a 22?
Or it's half damage, 11, sorry.
What?
It's half the damage you took.
So 11. Of the DC, so 11.
Okay, so I beat that.
Okay, cool.
So you maintain concentration on that there.
All right, finishing Ashton's go.
Chetney, you're up.
Fucking shit.
This goddamn hurricane of lightning in the middle.
How do we leave?
I don't know how to get out of this. Bonus action.
I don't know, we just scatter. Split and scatter.
She's going to go after her.
I don't know.
We don't have teleporty things.
Yeah, bonus action.
I'm going to grab my lower jaw
and just rip my face off,
and there is a huge wolf maw underneath,
but I'm wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Chetney mask up top. There is a huge wolf maw underneath,
but I'm wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Chetney mask up top.
Oh god!
That's horrifying. Yep.
I love it.
I am going to run up to the edge of the cyclone
and then run around the side of it as far as I can.
All righty.
So it's around this way?
I'm going to go the opposite.
This way?
You know what? It's the same.
So I'll go to your right.
Okay, so.
15, 20, 25.
30?
Yeah, 25.
And I'll...
How far am I?
Can you count squares for me?
To her, to Artana?
Six squares, so 25 feet there.
And this isn't Artana, this is Anorakis.
I'm sorry. Yeah, Anorakis.
And so am I 30 feet from her on a direct line?
Correct.
I'm going to use, tell me if this is right.
I'm going to use one of my new blood curses.
Uh-huh. I think it's a witch guy
that's just paying her for safety.
Where the fuck did it go?
Oh my god.
I'm going to use the Blood Curse of Bloated Agony.
Bloated? That!
Bloated Agony?
Bloated Agony.
You curse a creature that you can see
within 30 feet of you until the end of your next turn.
For the duration, the creature has disadvantage
on strength and dex checks
and takes 1d8 necrotic damage if it makes more than one attack on its turn. For the duration, the creature has disadvantage on strength and dex checks and takes 1d8 necrotic damage
if it makes more than one attack
on its turn. Oh, yeah.
Okay. That's bloated, all right.
Well, yeah. Is there a save
they make, or does it just happen? Double check.
Trying to remember.
No, because it's only one turn. That's true.
Yeah. So, all right. So, as you focus,
you kind of, like, flare up your
blood magic. What does that look like as you kind of like flare up your blood magic.
What does that look like as you kind of invoke the curse?
Yeah, so the blood magic's already on the chisel,
but he takes it and he just sticks it into his rib.
And a huge howl comes out.
You see like shock waves that go out.
Hits the back of Otohan.
And you watch as the armor seems to almost bulge as muscles begin to fight and something internal begins to kind of twist and contort within the body of Otohan, and you watch as the armor seems to almost bulge as muscles begin to fight
and something internal begins to twist
and contort within the body of Otohan Fu.
You're like, ah!
Looks back over her shoulder, back at you.
That is...
That's my turn.
Okay, you got it.
At the end of that turn, it's going to use another action
to dash over move her speed.
Any direction, it's going to go ahead and
move and dart onto this side next to Fearne.
All righty, that brings us to Imogen.
You are prone on the ground.
I also did run by one of her shadows.
Right, it did not get an attack of opportunity.
Okay.
It would be so cool if I
used her reaction on that line across.
There was a tiny pair of sneakers just dangling.
Aw, I should've looked at Etsy for it.
Was that technically one of her turns,
or was that just a, so if I had one of my effects up,
would that affect her if she was within my 15-foot radius?
Would we need to put up some wall or something?
No, that was not one of her turns.
Okay, cool.
It's a device that makes shadows.
All right. Fuck.
I mean, yeah, we got a hard choice to make.
We're going to fight and die,
or we're going to run, and when we run, we got to scatter.
We got to scatter?
If we're going to just incapacitate her for hot seconds.
Our card just blew up.
If we scatter, she's going to get to pick
who she goes after. Who she goes to.
Unless we just try and...
We just have to hold her off for 48 hours
until the skyship comes. Cool, cool, cool, cool, just try and. We just have to hold her off for 48 hours
until the skyship comes.
Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool.
We can just call for it now.
C-130.
Fuck.
Can you hold her while we run?
Super villain and a lightning bubble.
Or you can use your lance.
I can't, I'm out of that spell.
I'm out of spells.
I can try to hold her.
Do you have Hold Person? I'm going to hold it. You have Hold Person?
I'm going to just hit your head.
You're just going to hear,
Ron, and I'm going to use Misty Step.
Okay, okay. On the ground,
I'm looking up and I look past Otohan,
up at the balcony behind her.
Okay.
I'm going to Misty Step up to here.
All righty.
Okay, okay.
Imogen's gone!
She's going to chase one of us.
Up into this balcony. She abandoned us!
I'm going to run and try to go into the building.
Okay, you got it.
Maybe we body-system it.
Okay.
You open a door and there's just a couple
just railing each other.
In the middle of a sandstorm's flag?
I mean, what else are you going to do?
Mind wipe, mind wipe.
Yes.
All right, does that finish your training mission?
Shit. Hold on, let me mark that.
I'm confused.
That, yes.
Okay, end of your turn.
I'm just going to use Third Legendary Action
to go ahead and take a strike on you, Fearne.
That's going to be a 28 to hit.
No!
28 to hit? Matt Mercer.
Sorry. I hate all of us if we stay. 14 points of to hit Matt Mercer. Sorry.
I hate all of us if we stay.
14 points of slashing damage.
Okay. I'm just going to use
another Psionic Strike to add an additional...
We're trying to run, right?
14 points of slashing damage.
Run!
Run!
Run!
Well, Orym doesn't run right away
because he's deeper tech, but it's a run situation.
Run, run.
We all have to be in on running.
That finishes the turn.
There's nothing to be done.
There's nothing to be done.
But how do we run?
We all scatter.
But we're going to be leaving.
We got to try and just slow her down.
If you can slow her down or get her down.
Anything you have to slow her down.
You get out?
Okay, I'm going to try to cast
Hold Person on her.
Yeah, come on. High-level shit.
High-level shit.
I hope that she doesn't look in the bedroom.
Yeah, I'm going to try to cast Hold Person on her.
Okay.
And I'm doing it at 3rd-level,
so that's also getting another creature as well.
Okay, so you're targeting her in one of the echoes.
Got it. Yes.
Okay.
So does a wisdom save?
Yes.
That's a failure.
I'm just going to burn a legendary resistance
to resist it.
The echo, which one on the right or left you're affecting?
Legendary resistance.
Wait, that's two.
That one over there.
Over there? Yeah, you're right.
That is a failure.
So that one is currently held.
Just mark that here.
Are we running? We're running!
Okay, I'm going to reach my hand down to Mister.
I'm going to say, let's go.
And as a bonus action,
I am going, he's going, he's going to cast Fiery Teleportation.
Okay. And we will move.
Give me.
I think it's only 15 feet or something like that.
Yep, 15 feet.
Which direction? To an unoccupied man.
Okay.
You can go on the other side.
I think I'll...
I'm going to try to start running this way as well.
This way? Or this way?
You tell me.
This way.
Okay. Yeah.
So 15 feet. And...
There. The space that he left Okay. Yeah. And there.
The space that he left so
Can I just see a thing?
She's gonna have to
make a deck saving throw.
Okay, yeah. I was supposed to say you would have put her next to
her. Yeah, yeah, yeah. To make sure that
it goes off. Okay.
Save. Natural one. So she just takes
the damage on that. Okay.
So it's already 6-6-3.
She doesn't want to use a Legendary Resistance.
Of course. It's not.
What a bullshit roll.
Four points of damage.
It was a dumb one.
Aw, four points of fire damage.
Four points of fire damage. Okay, got it.
Okay.
That finish your turn for her? She explodes.
It's so weird.
She just
with this burst of flame and
burns her a bit.
Yeah, that's my turn. Okay. Yeah, that's my turn.
Okay. Shit, that's my turn.
Laudna, you're up with FCG on deck.
Can you use your movement?
You can use your movement still.
Oh, that's right, I can still move.
Okay, so from there,
I'm going to still just take off running.
30 feet this way? As far as I can go.
Okay, we'll put you about there, we'll say.
Ram her off the line.
Okay.
All right, Laudna.
All right. All right, Vodna. All right.
I say,
FCG, I think we're running,
and I'm going to hit her with a Ray of Frost.
Okay. 120 feet.
Ugh, please.
Oh, wait, no, no, that was fine, that was fine. Sorry.
So, the show is held. Fuck, 18.
You can't hit it. 18 misses.
18 misses.
Okay.
Oh boy.
18 misses, oh my god, okay.
I'm going to
go ahead and use my bonus action to do Form of Dread.
Okay.
Give myself some nine temporary hit points, which is great.
Fuck.
And then also run.
I am going to...
I'm going to run and start heading up this balcony. Up this balcony, up the ladder here, you mean?
Yeah.
So you're going to run.
That'll get you partway up the ladder there.
Okay.
Fuck, man.
That'll get you about there.
Okay.
When you moved away, Imogen,
did your sphere stay?
Yeah. Shit.
All right, does that finish your turn, Laudna?
FCG, you're up.
There's a dude right there that no one has attacked.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, it was a shadow dude.
They go down quickly.
Matt's just standing there with his weed whacker.
Am I close enough that he would hit me?
Well, yeah, I don't know.
No, you're 10 feet away.
You don't know if it's in range or not.
The weapon seemed standard range.
Okay. Which way did Laudna go?
Oh, you're walking up the wall.
Yeah.
Okay. Jesus.
Okay, I will just, we're running, right?
Running.
I'm going to run this way.
Okay.
I mean, roll that way around the back of the house.
Over here? Yeah.
As I go, I'll, bonus action,
grant you another
four points, four temporary hit points.
God fucking man.
God fucking fucking man. With Ardent Armor.
Sick.
Ah!
Oh, MCG!
And I'll use my action to just keep going around
the back of the house.
All right.
Over here?
Like around this way.
Around this way?
Yeah, I'd love to get around here if I can.
Oh, gotcha. You can get about there
with the rest of your equipment.
Okay, you got it.
All right, finishing your turn, top of the round.
It's now Otohan's go.
She has to make a... She has to make, I'm so sorry, top of the round. It's now Otohan's go. She has to make a...
She has to make, I'm so sorry, I lost the button.
She has to make, because there's a weird red-blue aura
coming from the corner,
she has to make a constitution saving throw.
Constitution saving throw.
That is going to be a 15.
That's not looking at the right number.
What is my saving?
Where's my save for that?
It's going to be hard.
So sorry, I'm trying to remember what my,
what is the save for these things that suck?
My god, it's just.
It's usually listed in the future, I think.
Okay, this is a...
It should say at the top of the...
Okay, fundamental force is
DC minus eight,
plus your proficiency modifier.
So eight plus three, plus your constitution modifier.
So it doesn't actually say the number, it just says what it is. Right, so it's 11 Plus your constitution modifier. So it doesn't actually say the number,
it just says what it is.
Right, so it's 11 plus your constitution modifier,
which is?
Three.
So 14.
Fuck.
Fuck, shit, piss.
Barely, barely.
Goddamn it, that would have made everything
so much fucking easier.
With that, technically this one vanishes.
Oh.
I killed one!
Good job, FCG!
This is going to run.
This one here, which is held,
which can't do anything this round.
With this, she's going to go ahead
and already is next to you.
She's going to go ahead and run a couple strikes.
Going to do three attacks against you, Orym.
First strike is going to be 25 to hit.
Yeah.
God fucking dammit.
You have some cool fighter shit.
That is going to be 10 points of slashing damage.
It's going to go ahead and Sonic Strike
for an additional 14 points for psychic.
Oh my god. She'll take a 1d8
for eight points of damage.
Nice, as that occurs, like.
Nice. All right.
I need you to make a strength saving throw.
Oh, period.
Oh, fail.
Fail, you are not prone.
Fuck.
Water weight.
I need all of it.
Sweeping it out from under you.
It's going to strike you again.
Your prone's advantage is a strike.
That's going to be a 25 to hit.
Yep.
It's going to take five points of damage.
Oh.
This is cool.
Float of Agony.
Is it once per turn, or did you?
It takes 1d8 necrotic damage
if it makes more than one attack on its turn.
I guess I'll just hit.
Just the one. Just the one, sorry.
Yeah, okay.
It's all good.
But it maintains every round.
It can keep doing the damage. Yeah, I got it.
All right, so that's going to be
15 points of slashing damage.
Because you are prone,
the blade sinks deeper into you on the ground.
It almost seems to seek to pin you to the floor.
You take an additional eight points of
force damage.
Third strike against you.
That's going to be 28 to hit.
Yep.
For 12 points of slashing damage.
Out, and as he's going out,
he's looking at the sky past her shoulder
and thinking of his husband and his father.
Ooh, no!
Not like this.
Come on.
He's going to go ahead and take the rest of the movement over here.
Moving away from the now unconscious Orym,
pulling the blade forth, walks over past Ashton,
just looking up in the direction of where Imogen vanished.
She knew where I went?
Huh? She knew where I went?
It's almost like she can sense minds.
Oh man.
She's shopping, this is bad.
And just staring up in your direction
with the offhand strike,
just does a strike against Ashton.
God fucking damn it.
That's going to be 21 to hit.
Yeah, it fucking hits.
I'm out.
That is 12 points of slashing damage.
Uh-oh. That is 12 points of slashing damage. Oh.
Tell our story, mister.
And it's going to go ahead
and use the rest of her movement, which was?
15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40.
To just start right up towards you for.
Hey, bitch. This is a bad, bad bitch.
All right, that finishes Otohan's turn.
Orym, I need you to make a death save for me.
Hi. Rude as it is.
13. 13.
That's one success, got it.
All right, Ashton, it's your turn.
Death save for me, please.
Mm-hmm.
Six. Six,hmm. Six.
Six? One failed save.
Cool.
All right. Cool!
Chetney, you're up. Yes.
Mother shitballs.
She makes a save against that
to see if she can get rid of the hold.
That is going to be a 12.
No, 13, which I don't believe succeeds.
That echo is still held.
God fucking damn it, I had plans.
Yeah, double dash.
I'm on her tail, all four.
All four paws on the ground.
Coming dead, dead charge.
Which is not far, it's only 50 feet.
Right there. Yeah.
And I'm growling and howling
to try and get her attention if I can,
but I know there's not much else that I can do.
Okay.
That's my, let me just double check something.
Bonus action. That was my bonus action.
I'm done, that's it.
I hate all of it.
I don't know what to do.
Run. She wants you if you get the fuck out. I'm done, that's it. I hate all of it. I don't know what to do.
Run. She wants you, if you get the fuck out.
But how will we bring everybody back to life?
Get out.
All right, Chenny's, I finished your turn.
Who said anything about bringing people back to life?
That's my turn.
Okay. Save yourself.
Get out.
Imogen, it's your turn.
I didn't see any of that because I'm in the house.
Correct, but you did hear shouts in combat.
That's all you know.
Lads, I would have put a health potion
in one of your mouths if I had one.
I don't have a potion. I don't have anything.
I have one. I was't have a potion. I don't have anything. I have one.
I was going to do so many things.
Can I...
Can I run out of the house, down the stairs,
and come out through a window on the side
and try to take off running?
As a double move?
Yeah. Yeah?
You go and rush through the house.
Go ahead and start coasting around on that side.
I'm trying to.
This is a hard one.
And you have to emerge out the window on this side.
But you manage to, with the last of your movement,
pull through the window on the opposite end, yes.
That's your movement and your action.
Is that your turn?
I can't.
That's all I have.
There's a lot of that going around.
It's okay.
End of the turn, just going to use Legendary Action
to go ahead and take a strike at Fearne.
Okay.
That's going to be a 19 to hit.
18, 18 to hit.
Yeah?
Oh boy. Does that hit hit? 18, 18 to hit. Yeah? Oh boy.
Does that hit you? Yeah, it does.
That's going to be 14 points of slashing damage.
I'm out.
Woo!
Okay.
That brings it to Fearne's turn.
Fearne, you should make a death save for me, please.
Three down!
Okay, okay.
So let me put in my...
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
We got her on the run.
What do I do?
I just roll. I just roll one of these.
This fight could go either way right now.
I just roll one of these.
Roll a d20.
Cleric's still up.
14.
That's one success, so mark that one success.
Shaking. Okay. Okay. Laud, so mark that one success. Shaking.
Okay.
Okay.
Laudna, it's your turn. Wait, wait, wait.
Can Mister do anything?
Is there anything when you fall
in the Wildfire Spirit?
I think he can act on his own accord.
Hold on. Okay.
Mister, you little fucker, you better do something.
I'll allow it. What do you want Mister to do?
Okay, wait, hold on, let me see.
Did you just throw some poop batter?
Fires a gun.
His little tiny dagger.
If I recall, so you're going to be up early,
early this morning.
Maybe this is a math way of making sure
that's going to happen.
Nothing like a take- to Canada in the evening.
This is nerve-wracking.
I don't like it.
That gives me a lot of sight.
Bonus action.
Cool.
If you are incapacitated,
the spirit can take any action of its choice,
not just dodge.
Correct, so what would you like the spirit to do?
Would...
Can I cast?
I can't cast a spell through him, right?
No. Okay, so.
He can take any other action.
He can attack any of his stuff.
He can grab and move stuff,
give you a little banana,
light stuff on fire if he's feeling like
whatever you think he's capable of doing
within reason.
Oh, bubble fight.
Got to teach that monkey to stabilize people.
Okay, right.
All right, flame seed.
He's going to throw some flame seeds at her.
All right, go for it.
Come on, come on.
Medi-monkey.
Fuck!
I was just reading it.
20, dirty 20. Dirty 20.
Dirty 20. Yeah.
That hits. Okay.
If she just ignored me, I would've been fine.
I would've been so far the fuck out of here.
Six points of damage.
Six points of damage.
She takes a piece of flaming shit
to the back of the shoulder.
Seven, I'm very sorry.
Oh, oh, there we go.
Let's not get one extra. We're talking.
Okay.
Looking rough?
She's a little wear and tear, but nothing too crazy.
Shoulder looks a little shitty?
Yeah.
Cape has a stain.
Yep, a little flaming turd.
I'm in.
Time to turn in!
Fuck, man.
Okay.
Does that finish your turn?
Damn it. So you're down? Yeah. Three down. Ooh finish your turn? Damn it.
So you're down?
Yeah.
Three down.
Ooh, I had something so cool.
One side down, essentially, with Imogen on the run.
Finish your turn.
Go ahead and use another legendary action to dash.
Shit, it's conflicting.
Oh no. With enough movement,
can get right here to where you are.
Yeah.
Oh boy. Okay.
That brings us to Laudna.
You're climbing up and you look over and you just see.
No.
With Wither and Bloom,
where I can pick someone to roll hit dice.
Uh-huh.
Does that count for the people that are down?
Let me look at the spell real fast.
What?
Wither down.
What weird shit are you pulling out of your bag?
Trying to get one of you all up.
Fuck.
You're going to find out real quick.
Wither and Bloom. I'm going to get one of you all up. You're going to find out real quick. Weathering blue.
Guys, D&D Beyond.
Start playtesting one D&D today.
Within a 10-foot radius of you, yes.
Download one D&D playtest materials.
Roll an unspent hit dice.
Try them out at your home game.
Oh.
They don't have to be. They'll take you within 10 feet of you.
10 feet is...
At dndbeyond.link slash crdnd.
Can you turn into a crazy bitch and fly across the room?
What'd you say? I was not listening to you.
The audience was listening.
Yeah, the rest of us are.
dndbeyond.link slash crdnd.
For one D&D today.
No, it's not within 10 feet.
It's a 60-foot spell and a 10-foot radius.
Oh, I see. 10-foot radius of damage within you,
and then 60 feet within you can be...
You mean you can send it 60 feet,
and it's 10-foot sphere? It's a 60-foot, and it's 10-foot.
Oh, I see, I see. Send it a point of range, yeah.
So it's a 10-foot sphere and a 60-foot radius.
Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
I'm going to just jump off of the stairs.
Okay. Move, kind of stick to this edge. I'm going to just jump off of the stairs.
Okay.
Move, kind of stick to this edge.
Okay.
And get within 60 feet.
I don't think I got to go far.
Make an acrobatics check
as you're jumping off a ladder.
Fine.
Fine.
Fine, 17.
Yep.
25, 30 can get you back up into this space here,
rushing, oh god, rushing just past this here.
Can I crouch in this, do 3 1⁄4 cover
behind those barrels and stuff under that awning?
The awning is closed on this side,
but you're behind the awning
and using it for cover right now if you want to.
All right, I'm going to drop Wither and Bloom
right here.
Wait, fuck. Yes, okay.
It's 10 feet.
It's 10 feet.
Can I get both?
Try and get two. Can I get Ashton and her?
So, let's see.
You can both hit her and get Ashton
in the radius, if you'd like, yes.
Cool, awesome.
I do that.
Okay.
She takes...
Constitution saving throw?
Constitution saving throw.
That's a 14.
She rolled really low on that.
Fail. Fail, okay.
Okay, so she takes eight damage, necrotic.
Eight necrotic damage.
You get to roll a hit dice, Ashton.
Don't fuck this up.
Well, anything above a one, above a zero,
will bring you back.
Yeah, a 12 will give me 24, though,
if I'm doing this right.
All right, seven.
All right, so you heal, regain seven hit points.
Yep. Hey, that's great.
That's great.
Real quick, real quick, sorry, sorry.
Because when I just finished.
Can I have made that quick retcon
and make that a quicken spell?
Yes, you can.
And then use my bonus action to try and dash back around?
A dash is an action,
unless you have the rogue ability
to use it as a bonus action.
But I moved bonus action spell.
Oh, use your action. Sorry, my action,
all the lexicons,
to then try and move back around
kind of towards where FCG is.
Certainly. And get back out of the way.
Oh my god.
Okay, that's my turn.
Do I see terror on her face?
Yeah, did you tell us what's going on? At the end of your turn,
I'm just going to spend her last legendary action
Legendary action.
to Psy-powered Leap.
And it's going to go ahead and...
Okay.
Yeah, that's it.
Just initiate Psy-powered Leap.
Initiate Psy-powered Leap?
Yeah, we'll get to that.
All right, I've seen you.
Wait, what? What happened?
Nothing yet.
She initiated Psy-powered Leap,
but nothing happened.
The outside of her body begins to shimmer
and shake, rocks on the ground
begin to buzz and lift
just a couple inches off the ground.
I'm going to use my action to keep moving
around the house to see. I can use my action to keep moving around the house
to see if I can get,
see what the hell's going on over there.
Or my movement, I mean.
Yep.
What do I see?
You see a wrecked crawler.
You see Mister, you see Fearne on the ground that way,
and you see Chetney in wolf form currently.
I see Ashton.
You can see Ashton on the ground starting to come to consciousness. Oh, he form currently. I see Ashton.
You can see Ashton on the ground
starting to come to consciousness.
I'm clearly awake. Oh, he's okay.
Don't see Orym.
All right.
Or, yeah.
I do see Fearne.
You do see Fearne, yes.
Okay, I'll bonus action Healing Word Fearne.
What's the range on it?
60 feet. Ooh, am I not close enough?
60 feet. I might be closer to Orym.
I don't see Orym.
She's out of the 60-foot range.
I'll, oh.
I will use my action to move closer to her.
Okay.
So you have five more feet on this end, so that's five.
I have 30, gets you about there.
You can definitely get her in range there.
Can you see Orym now, too?
I guess you can just barely see Orym as well, yeah.
Out of the corner of the crawler.
Who do I care about more?
My lifelong friend, Liam?
Or the fun character that makes us all laugh?
I knew it.
Yes.
You want to flip your coin?
Ooh!
Did you roll up or down on your death save?
What makes more sense?
So we're both up, one of you?
I feel like I've seen you heal before.
Other people. Yeah. So I've seen you heal before. Other people.
Yeah.
So I'm going to heal Fearne.
You can get a growth, yeah.
Yeah, I'll bonus action heal Fearne.
That's a very good idea.
Ugh.
With Healing Word.
Oh, this is it.
Nope, I did not mean to click that.
I will click it here.
Oops, I stole your wallet.
Six points of heal. Six points of heal.
Six points of heal, great.
So Fearne, you are now conscious, low prone,
out of the periphery of Otohan, it seems, at the moment,
while she's concentrating on Chetney.
It's about to be her turn.
All right.
Does that finish your turn? That's everything, yeah.
It's now Otohan's turn.
This one vanishes for being too far away.
Oh. Otohan's turn. This one vanishes, being too far away. Oh.
Otohan, now buzzing and hearing the chanting
off in the distance of the Wither and Bloom,
taking the hit and the strike,
glances over and sees you drive around the way.
The psychic leak suddenly
bounds into the air, arcing 80 feet.
Imogen? No.
She's not going after Imogen.
Yes.
This bitch.
This bitch.
Fucking support you.
You want to get an attack of opportunity there, Chet?
Oh.
Oh, that's not.
Both of y'all, right? Bonus action is going to go ahead and manifest echoes.
Do I get an attack of opportunity on a psionic leap?
You do.
Come on.
Sentinel!
Sentinel!
I know!
I know!
Wow.
That's something I should take at some point.
That would be a really good thing to take.
Man.
What would I? That's a 24 to take at some point. That would be a really good thing to take. Man.
For life.
That's a 24 to hit.
24 definitely hits.
Fine.
Plus the?
She's just going to take it.
Okay.
I don't know what the fuck to do.
Eight.
Plus eight.
That's 14 points of damage.
14 points, got it.
I've got one spell left.
One slot.
All right.
Lands.
As you're rushing around the corner, you hear.
Right as you go to turn, you watch
apparate in front of you the dark shadow of Otohan.
One of the echoes flickers into being
and you look over your shoulder and she goes,
Can't run from this, my dear.
And is going to rush into a flurry of strikes on you.
Oh shit.
She's jumping all over this fucking mat.
Yeah. Like a gut.
Jungle gym.
22 to hit?
That hit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
This is a problem.
I can't chase this bitch around.
That's going to be 12 points of slashing damage to you.
Jesus! What is going on?
What is that feature? It is called Calm.
Calm.
I'm going to use another psionic strike
to hit you for an additional 10 points of psychic damage.
I don't have my Blight Curse anymore.
She can't even see how many points she has right now.
You are panicking.
It might that there's a drop-down window
and it won't go away.
It's all right.
I can't walk away.
Rotate it back.
You want to refresh?
No, no.
Okay, okay, did that do it?
Didn't do it!
I want to refresh.
No.
We're good, we're good.
That helps.
Okay, all right, I'm good.
Sorry, so I got the 12.
Then 10 points of psychic damage.
I need you to make a strength saving throw.
Real good at those.
Those temporary hit points were clutch.
Eight.
Eight, you are not prone.
Okay.
Not prone into the outhouse?
Correct.
The run didn't work.
We said scatter, and nobody could.
She just took us down before we could scatter.
Well, we could scatter, but three of us would die.
Yeah.
She's going to take a secondary strike
on you on the ground.
It was a good plan.
That's going to be a 25 to hit.
It was the best plan we had.
That is 10 points of slashing damage,
plus 2d6 because the blade trying to pin you
into the ground as you are prone.
You take an additional 10 points of force damage.
Okay.
The echo's going to take the third strike on you
on the ground as well.
That's going to be 22 to hit.
Uh-huh.
That is going to be 13 points of slashing damage.
I'm down.
Can you do that thing where you don't go down?
Yep, I'm going to see what happens.
Strength of the grave.
Strength of the grave.
Yeah. This is a record, right?
Yes.
It's a match for you. Come back here.
Same head.
Same damage taken.
Eight years.
Okay. Longer.
I'm taking the Solace of the Kind of the Chains.
Not the kind of return you want.
Nope.
We've had fights where many people went down,
slightly staggered, not like this.
No, this is a, not like this.
No, this is a wave of mutilation.
No, no, no, no, no.
Down.
This is my high school band.
Okay.
Still has a third attack.
He is going to go ahead.
Oh, he's mercy.
On the way of the grave.
No, no.
I mean, hey.
You're the only one in range, Laudna.
Yeah.
It's okay. Yeah.
That's going to be, well, it's with advantage
because you're on the ground.
I'm sure it hits.
That's an auto-quit.
You fail two death saves.
I roll right? No, I just.
No, you just fail two death saves
from a critical melee.
Because I was sympathetically binded to her.
To Lautna? To Lautna.
Do I?
I binded to you, too.
Do I feel anything?
I will say you feel this exhale.
Like the bind, I will say, doesn't loose,
but you would sense dire straits have come.
Ah!
That's going to end Otohan's turn.
The echoes that were summoned can now move.
This one's going to just shift over here.
This one's going to turn and run around 30 feet to this side.
She's relentless.
Oh fuck, man.
Okay.
Wow, wow, wow, wow.
Uh-huh.
Actually, at the end of the turn,
as everyone's rushing around, she shouts out,
You're missing the party!
Run all you want.
You're just running and leaving them to die.
That brings us now to Orym's turn.
Orym, roll another death save, please.
Fail.
So success and a fail.
Ashton, you are on the ground unconscious.
Fuck, man, none are on the ground unconscious.
Fuck, man, none of this is going well. How do we get away?
I don't know.
All right.
Dorian comes in, riding.
An airship. Riding an airship
with the name on the side of it,
and it says Ex Machina.
Yeah, not a lot I can do, so I'm just going to do a Hail Mary. I'm going to rage and see what the fuck happens.
Okay, rage on the ground.
Rage on the ground.
Yeah!
All right, so that gives me a...
Okay, okay. All right, so that gives me a...
Okay, okay. All righty.
Get it up.
Interesting.
Yeah, right.
Yes!
Okay, this is interesting.
This is fucking interesting.
I'm going to get up again
with the hole in my head starting to go translucent again
and starting to be a little phase shifted.
I am really fucked up.
Not feeling well.
Who do I have left?
Okay.
Oh, she's going to, that one.
Shadow.
Shadow's going to try and drop them.
Actually, you drop concentration
when you went unconscious,
so the hold is technically off that one.
Okay, that one's screened there. This one. It's going frame. Actually, you dropped Concentration when you went unconscious, so the hold is technically off that one. Okay, that one's just there.
This one could have moved on its turn
and would probably move up to Chetney there.
Okay, yeah, that's actually really great.
Where is Orym, out of curiosity?
Orym's on the ground over here.
Okay, there, I can, okay, so I can,
so here, I'm going to hop up one more time
because I need to see exactly what I'm doing.
I know, this one real thing is like,
just eating meat.
Scrape. Um.
Okay.
Okay.
Five, 10, 15.
Fuck, that's my action, though.
Fuck, that is my action.
Then everything's fucked.
They can't try.
I don't know if they see either of you out there.
I'm just going to shout out,
they can't be far from her.
Get away from them.
You guys are standing very tall.
Sitting in your chairs.
I know, I know, sorry, sorry.
Yeah, I just had to see.
Fuck, I'm trying to decide what the fuck to do.
Oh, I know.
Just get away from them.
They can't hurt us.
Fuck it, yeah.
Now that I've got this going on,
I'm going to run up,
stand up with half my movement.
Okay, and it's to 20, right?
Is that guy still there, by the way?
That guy is because it's at the top of the next turn.
Oh god, I am so sorry, Liam.
I don't know what else to do.
I'm going to take, I'm going to get advantage.
I'm going to try and pin this little shadow fuck
so that I can get advantage on the swing.
Okay, so you're going after this one right there?
Yep, yep.
You could get on the other side of him and be.
That's what I'm trying to do.
Okay, I see, I see.
Is get, is flankage.
You got it.
Take that advantage. Okay, I see, I see. Is get, is get. A little flankage. Flankage. You got it. Take that advantage.
Okay, and here we go.
I'm going to take an attack.
Barely lifting my hammer,
because it's really heavy and I'm really tired
and nothing's good right now.
Come on, roll properly.
Natural 20, which hardly matters here,
but I hit that thing. Oh, it does.
Oh. Is he within 30 feet of me?
I'll say, I'll allow it, because you're right.
It's a tough place. It's right on the cusp.
I'll say sure.
Oh, within 60 feet of me.
Oh yeah, then definitely you're fine.
Great. I get advantage on the next roll I make.
Cool. Amazing.
Okay, so I'm going to...
When you do good, I do good.
How many HP does this thing take?
It has one hit point, so it's gone.
It's disintegrated.
The cool thing, though, is I have space up right now.
Oh.
Which is why I'm slightly translucent.
That swing gives me just enough power
to teleport. Where are you teleporting? translucent, that swing gives me just enough power
to teleport.
Where are you teleporting?
As I squish that thing down,
trying to remember how far I can go,
because I'm panicking. 60 feet away?
Because you created a super complicated build.
I did, there we are.
Well, it's also, I'm blind.
Spread your wings and fly, bitch.
Yeah, so I'm going to take...
I'm going to take 60 feet in that direction.
Okay.
Actually, yeah, 60 feet this way, actually.
This way?
Then I'm going to take the rest of my movement as well.
Okay, so you just go bolting.
Yeah, this direction.
That direction? Okay. So if you want to move that piece over there. Yep. Okay, so you just go bolting. Yeah, this direction. That direction? Okay.
So if you want to move that piece over there.
Yep. Okay.
That's, don't know what else the fuck to do.
Are you conscious?
So that's like 70, 75 feet.
You got it. You're over that space.
I'm still down.
Fuck.
All right, that finishes Ashton's go.
I don't know what else to do.
I'm just still trying to do the math.
Moves down. Spend a legendary action to dash. I don't know what else he does. I'm just still trying to do the math. Moves down.
Spend a legendary action to dash.
I'm very down.
Shit.
Shit.
Got it.
She jumps up on the wall.
God damn it!
That brings us to Chetney's turn.
Yeah, I'll go meet her.
Chetney, Chetney, Chetney, what are you doing?
I don't want to be the only one not dead.
I respect that.
Sometimes you got to cut a bitch.
I'll take two
Iroquorne Witch's Chisel strikes against her.
Do it.
I'll use my bonus action again
to pump a little bloated agony. You Do it. And I'll use my bonus action again to pump a little bloated agony into it.
You got it.
First one is
20 to hit.
No.
21 to hit.
21 to hit, hits.
And second one, natural one.
Fuck.
Nope, wrong thing. We're all on the wrong dice.
Can I see you?
This guy comes with me.
There you go.
Actually, this is the hit dice.
You'd probably be able to see me.
12. Thank fucking god.
Okay, good.
And five.
17 on the shot.
70 points of damage.
Starting to see a little wear and tear.
Nice.
The second one was a miss,
and with the bloated agony,
nothing happens yet.
Okay, that finishes your turn?
Yes, it does.
End of her turn.
Just going to go ahead and,
using a second legendary action to attack you in retort.
Yeah.
Go ahead and attack with that.
That's going to be a 15 to hit.
Misses. Misses.
You miss a strike and then she misses a strike
and you're both now just slashing each other,
dodging them just in the middle of this fray
amongst this tangled mass of what was once
a skirmish crawler, just sitting there smoking rubble
in the middle of this dust-covered battlefield.
All right, that brings us to Imogen.
I'm going to say,
Laudna, where are you?
No response.
Fuck.
I'm going to fuck. Go, get out. I'm going... Fuck.
Go. Get out.
I'm gonna step out.
Do not come back here.
From behind.
No.
For sure.
And I'm gonna cast Fly on myself.
Okay.
And fly 60 feet up in the air.
Oh, boy.
This'll be a big one here.
Straight up?
Mm-hmm.
Now tell me.
The storm falls.
All right.
And in Otohan's head,
I'm just going to scream,
Enough!
Let's end this.
Okay.
Finishing Imogen's turn.
Fearne, you're conscious, correct?
Yeah.
You, from where you're standing,
you would not see her, but you do see,
actually, you don't see a lot of this
because there's wreckage in the way and scattered at this point, but you do see... Actually, you don't see a lot of this because there's a wreckage in the way
and scattered at this point,
but you come to consciousness.
The dust storm's still blasting past your eyes,
burning from the sand and you need to come back to it.
There's just dust storm through this whole thing?
Yeah. Fuck.
Are you knocked over?
Is that you?
I was unconscious, but I'm conscious now.
Oh, but you're still proud. Okay.
We'll say at the end of its turn,
sorry, it's going to use Last Legendary Action
to make another strike against you,
glaring at you, and then.
Ow!
That's going to be a 23 to hit.
That'll hit.
You take...
11 points of slashing damage.
Deuce to six, because my wolf hide is so sick.
Going to use another Psionic Strike
to take an additional 13 points of force damage.
Goddamn. Okay, hold on.
You take one point of damage.
Okay.
You said 11 or 13.
Psionic.
Psionic? No, it was 13.
13.
You'll be okay.
Psychic damage. You'll be okay.
Yeah.
I need you to make a strength saving throw.
You got it.
Which I have.
Advantage of what you're in this form,
I'm pretty sure. I do, right?
Yeah.
17.
17. 17.
Yeah, you succeed.
You try to strike and knock you onto the ground,
but you just resist the strength of it and hold for him.
Okay. Fuck.
The tension is definitely looking over towards Imogen
and seems to be doing a presentation
or waiting for something.
All right, so that finishes.
Ferdinand, we're back on your turn.
What are you doing?
Oh god, this is so stupid.
Okay.
I'm assuming you can't, like,
look at me.
Yeah.
Look at her, look at you, but through a house.
Okay, so I'm going to, I'm going to,
through a house?
You're really far away.
I don't know if this is possible. Although you would, I was going to, I'm going to. Through a house? Through a house. You're really far away.
I don't know if this is possible.
Although you would, I was going to say, well.
In all this fighting, of course, fighting,
I'm not getting the scent of a fey fear undead, right?
Do you think you have, like,
Nothing like that's creeping through.
But you are seeing with each of these
creations of these echoes,
something is flaring from underneath
the back of the cloak.
Okay.
Everybody use that slot.
Something's flaring at the back of her cloak?
You don't know. You aren't seeing this.
You're way over that way.
And they're currently blocked behind
the wreckage of the crawler.
Okay.
So I'm just going to get up.
Okay. Okay. Send I'm just going to get up. Okay.
Okay.
Send me a thought.
I'll save you just a thought.
Fuck. This is so fucking stupid.
Okay. I'm going to go to where I'm in,
you know, 30 feet of her.
30 feet of her?
With the rest of your movement,
you can move 15 feet and you have no visual on where she is at the moment.
Even if I go a little bit that way?
If you go 15 feet this way, like right there,
about there, you might be able to see her,
but that's all the movement you have
on just your movement this turn.
Shit. Fuck.
Okay, that's okay, because Mister's there.
Is he within 30 feet?
He is not.
He's about 40 feet away.
Okay, so if I don't move and he moves?
He moves separately on his turn.
You can tell him to move, I believe.
Okay, so instead of using my movement,
oh, that may be good.
Okay, if I move him forward,
am I still able to cast a spell if I use it through him?
Can you cast through him?
I can, because I have Enhanced Bond now.
Oh, then yeah, you could.
So.
Does he have visual on it?
Let me just double check on this.
Whenever you cast a spell, the deal is paid.
Use a little help.
I am fucking so goddamn far from everything right now.
In addition, when you cast a spell with a range,
other than self.
I have one last trick.
When you cast a spell with a range other than self,
the spell can originate from you
and your wildfire spirit, so.
Pardon me. I think you still have to move
to have visual range on the target.
Okay. So you still get about there
to see her, and then he moves over,
and then you can cast through him if you'd like.
Oh god, this is...
Okay.
I don't have a lot left.
Curing I can only do by touch.
This is...
You've got a man down here.
Yeah, can you do it through a monkey?
Oh, yes!
I'm right there.
Okay, Orym.
I am going to do Cure Wounds on Orym
through Mister.
Corrupts the girl.
I'm so going so many fucking pigeons.
Yeah!
She's not even looking a little rough, is she?
She's looking a little haggard.
She's taking some hits.
So I will do that.
You guys spent a lot of this running away, so.
Good dude.
I mean, in a rough opening round for you.
Eight points of healing on Orym.
Oh, look at that.
Yeah, went from 89% to three-fourths.
We're three-quarters back up.
Ah.
We're good. We're good.
We're good. We're back up.
So then does that count as his move?
Already, it's true.
Or is that mine? You cast your action
through him, so your action's spent.
Your movement and your action's been used.
Okay.
So then.
I don't know what he gives you.
Ugh! Okay. So then... I don't know what to give you, Laudamir. Ugh!
Okay.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Okay.
All right, Mister's going to throw some shit at her.
Sure, go for it.
Damn it, there's something I want to fucking do
and I can't. Tell me you want to poo this.
Okay.
That is...
16.
16 to hit? Yeah.
Okay. All right.
That's unfortunate. That's what I'm doing.
That's it.
Okay. I thought you really...
All right, Laudna,
if you rolled, have to say it for me, please.
Yeah! Yeah! God fucking damn it. Oh, Laudna, if you're old, have a say for me, please. Yeah! Yeah!
God fucking damn it.
Oh, this is it, kids.
This is it.
No problem.
Delilah, take the wheel.
Natural 20, is it a natural 20?
It's a natural 20.
Is it really?
You saw it, you see it, right?
Holy shit! Oh my god.
Hey, you get knocked down,
and then you get up again.
I will never question you ever again, Delilah.
Delilah.
Delilah.
Good luck for life.
In the middle of the shadow,
deep in your spirit,
as the darkness threatens to consume you.
That doesn't make any fucking sense.
She's got more plans for you.
That doesn't make any fucking sense.
Wait, wait, wait, listen, listen, listen. That is so stupid. I'm sorry.
In the deep shadow,
before the darkness begins to curl and take you.
Oh!
Not yet, my child.
We have much to do.
Your eyes shoot open.
But they're full.
No one can see, but they're full black
as I just black comes out.
Now question.
So no, if you rolled nat 20, you get a hit point.
Correct.
But then also, because of Cling to Life,
if I roll 16 plus, I get a hit point. Correct. But then also, because of Cling to Life, if I roll 16 plus,
I get a hit point.
Those stack.
She wants that two hit points.
Technically, what that ability does
is it replaces the other.
It's not like you get two.
You get a hit point on a 16 or higher.
Okay.
I love you.
But that happens at the top of your round,
so you still have a round if you'd like to take it.
Oh my god.
I mean, it would've been cool if you had just died
and then your husk of a body
just started killing everybody,
but I guess that's second fiddle by now.
Can't believe that.
I have fucking action.
Nat 20.
I can't believe that.
Oh my god. Wait, who's this over here?
This is one of her shadows?
It's one of her shadows, yeah.
Who's this equals not a good person.
And Orym, you're up. We're all up.
We're all up.
Oh, yeah, but everybody's awake.
Oh my god.
This is basically her bouncing around
like a fucking pinball, knocking us out.
Yeah.
I'm going to roll over
and crawl around to the back of this house.
Okay.
Not expecting to see this fucker,
and I'm just going to Hydra Blast him.
Do it.
Two attacks.
God damn it.
Okay.
Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit.
Shit, shit. Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit.
Okay, one of them is 18.
18 chest hits.
And the other one definitely doesn't.
Chetney, you can get out of there, right?
Oh my god.
Oh my god! Nat 20? Oh my god. Oh my god!
Nat 20. Oh my god.
Two, oh my god.
Two 10s. Let's go.
Or 24. 24.
You can go.
The echo of Otohan that was around the corner,
stepping blades out, just
and scatters into dust and darkness.
And you're on the ground. And, um.
And you're on the ground.
And I'm still on the ground.
I'm going to stand up,
but I'm just going to lean up against the windowsill.
Okay.
Freaked the fuck out of my mind.
Okay.
And then I will say,
just with as raspy whatever air I can choke out,
I'm in shit.
Oh!
Okay.
All right.
Finishing your turn.
Fresh Cut Grass, you're up.
You've come out, you see, you just helped Fearne stand.
She rushed over, lobbed a couple of attacks.
She's barely holding on.
You see Orym on the ground, eyes flicker open,
wounded to shit. You see Asrym on the ground, eyes flicker open, wounded to shit.
You see Ashton teleport around the corner,
charging away, hobbling.
Imogen is up in the air, floating angrily,
voice echoing like a thunderbolt.
You have no idea where Laudna is.
You have no idea where Chetney is,
though you hear the strikes and howls
from beyond the wreckage of that crawler.
What are you doing?
Did I see her Eldritch Blasts
come from around the corner, or?
I'd say not based on the focus of where you were.
And I don't feel her with our connection.
Our work is done here.
We got to get out of here, right?
We're all up. We run.
But Chetney's still there.
He's going to be okay. You're going to be okay?
That's code for Travis wants a new character.
That's code for I'm about to see
what this bitch's insides look like.
Those Echo things die pretty easy, right?
They seem to die pretty well, pretty easily.
I'm not going to kill her, so.
I'll use my action to do Sacred Flame
at the one that is right on my eyeline.
Okay, you go ahead and use,
is it a dexterity save?
Oh, is it?
Or is it a wisdom save?
I thought I rolled.
I don't know how this thing works.
Sacred Flame is a save. Oh, it's a dexterity 14 save.
Dexterity 14 save, it succeeds.
Does it take half damage or no damage?
No damage. No damage.
So it stands up, or stays up.
Okay, then I will move that way.
Okay, so you scoot over this way.
A wheel sound.
All righty.
I guess that's all I can do.
I guess that's all I can do.
Bonus actions?
Bonus action.
No, no, I can't do anything else.
That's it. Okay.
That finishes your turn.
Brings us to Otohan's turn.
Mm-hmm.
Otohan here, thrashing stops for a second,
looks at Imogen and looks at us.
Your friends are extremely obnoxiously resilient.
Yeah.
Perhaps I've been going about this the wrong way.
I should be more complete with my job.
And it's going to go ahead into striking against you,
since you're right there.
Oh shit.
That's 20 to hit.
Definitely hits.
That is going to be 12 points of slashing.
Okay.
Plus another psionic strike
for 12 points of psychic damage.
That one hits all the way, right?
Correct. That's not reduced, yeah.
Yeah.
Five points of bloaty bloat to her.
Oh, right.
Yeah.
All righty.
Next strike against you.
That's a natural 20.
Ooh! Shit.
Oh, did you make a strength save, by the way,
from that extra to see if you can stay prone?
Just regular strength save?
Yep. Or a strength saving throw?
Strength saving throw.
Shit, man.
24, 22.
Yeah, you stay.
So this does 18 points of slashing damage,
reduced to nine.
18, yes, thank you.
That's fine. Got that.
And it is...
A lot of hit.
I'm just going to go in for a third hit against you,
because you're just right there in front.
That's going to be 18.
Misses. Misses.
Oh my fucking god. Goes wide.
Yeah, and it's going to offhand attack.
You know what? You know what?
You know what?
These are going to move over to here.
That one's gone.
She's going to go ahead and offhand to Echo Swap and
boof. Yep.
What?
All of a sudden, she teleports
separately from the Echo.
They both and swap places.
Yep.
Is that a feature bonus action?
Whoa.
Is going to go ahead and Action Surge.
Oh my...
Yep.
Otohan.
You are prone, so that's advantage.
That's going to be 23 to hit.
Does Mister get a reaction from the shadow moving?
It doesn't really move, it's a teleport.
That doesn't provoke an opportunity effect.
Nine points of slashing damage.
A down. Okay.
And as it stabs, you see Orym's hand,
which was reaching into his belt,
and the blue sending stone goes.
Oh!
Dude.
He is so fucking awful.
Second strike.
Shit. Auto-crit.
Two death saves.
Good night.
Third strike.
Auto-crit.
Orym, please describe to me, in your final moment,
as Orym looks up, barely holding his vision forward,
and Otohan pulls the blade up
and is about to press it down into his sternum.
There's a really heavy sense of failure,
but at the same time,
I know I'm going to see
Will and Derek again.
She stops for a second.
We've met before.
Yeah.
She turns back up and looks at Imogen.
That's going to finish her turn.
Ashton, you're up.
How far away am I from this motherfucker?
You are quite a distance. Shit, fuck. You teleported quite a ways away. I from this motherfucker? You are quite a distance.
Shit, fuck.
You teleported quite a ways away.
I did. You are...
75 feet-ish, 80 feet away.
SAM and LAURA, together,
Hmm?
Call it 75 feet?
Say 75 feet, yeah.
SAM and LAURA, together, without dying. 75 feet. Stay 75 feet, yeah.
I'm going to step 15 feet towards this asshole.
Okay. You could nudge Ashton 15 feet towards me, if not mine.
A little more. There we go.
That's good.
I'm just going to take a wild fucking swing
and I'm going to swing and hit the ground
in an attempt to just make a fucking shockwave
towards this motherfucker.
But of course, a portal opens
and the hammer disappears
and is going to hit her right back in the fucking head.
Go for it.
Are you doing this reckless or?
Can I do this reckless?
If you want to, it's still a melee attack, yeah.
Yeah, I will do this reckless.
Go for it.
Oh, thank God.
I probably missed. Oh, thank god.
I probably missed.
Fuck, I probably missed, didn't I?
17?
17 misses.
God fucking damn it.
So you go, the portal opens behind their head,
and her eyes, which have been locked on Imogen
for most of this past few moments,
suddenly dart to the side, noticing something,
and she ducks low right as the portal
opens and the hammer
swings wide, missing her by an inch.
Fuck me, and I'm booking for the rest of my run.
Okay.
Which is 25 feet.
25 feet that way.
Yeah. Okay.
I'm actually, I'm going to get out of sight, so.
You got it.
Yeah.
Just going to use Legendary Action.
Mm-hmm.
Go ahead and dash.
Two, go ahead and.
Good god.
I'm out. Dash out to Fearne.
All right, that brings us to Chetney's turn.
Ha!
I will take a swipe at the echo in front of me
with my chisel.
Go for it. Fuck, fuck.
Wow.
I don't know what else to do.
I taste iron.
That's it.
17 to hit?
17 just misses the echo.
Sorry. Well, I'm going to take
the second swipe at it,
because I need to try and hit it if I'm going to take the second swipe at it because I need to try and hit it
if I'm going to fucking win.
Fjord.
20, 30, 20.
That hits. Go ahead and roll damage.
And...
17 points of slashing damage.
You arc up into it and it scatters
into this weird smoke-like sludge
that just dissipates in the air.
I'll use 25 feet to give chase.
That will not get me very far.
25 feet's about there.
That's my turn.
All right, into your turn.
You're going to use another legendary action
to attack Fearne.
Oh my god.
That's going to be a 26 to hit.
Yes! Good god!
Goddamn it!
Take 13 points of slashing damage.
Yes, I'm down! Wait, wait.
Wait.
Is she within 30 feet of me?
No. She is not.
Damn it.
As you fall unconscious,
the last thing you hear before the darkness
takes your vision is Otohan saying,
You carry the Seed, which is not as strong as others.
The Seed? You carry the Seed? which is not as strong as others.
The seed? I carry the...
The seed?
That's Ruidus-born.
She's Ruidus-born, too.
Obviously.
But not as strong as others,
because it was Ruidus on the Fey Realm.
That's not as strong.
So Imogen, it's your turn.
Tears just streaming down my face.
I'm going to fly down and forward
with my hand outstretched, both of them towards her.
Fly down a little bit, you said?
Just a little bit.
I want to get within 60 feet of her.
Okay.
I'm going to scream, Leave my friends alone!
But it's going to echo in her head painfully, screech,
and at level three, I'm going to cast Dissonant Whispers.
Okay, all right.
So what's the save on that?
It's a wisdom save.
It's a wisdom save.
She's doing well, great.
14?
15.
15 is the DC, okay.
Okay, okay.
Yes.
So she takes...
Wait, what'd you say?
Sorry, we were scheming.
Dissonant Whisper, so she takes 5d6 psychic damage.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Wait, is that Dissonant?
Yes, it is.
Yeah, it's Dissonant.
Okay, well.
We can't afford that, Sam.
18.
That's all the notes. 21.
21 points of psychic damage.
And.
And. We'll plot. 21 points of psychic damage. And... And...
We'll plot.
The creature must immediately use its reaction,
if available, to move as far as its speed allows
away from me.
Okay, which she does have.
So she then moves 40 feet this way,
which is quite a distance for me to reach.
I got you, I got you.
You just shift that about 30,
keep going a little more, a little more, about there.
We'll say that is 40 feet from where Fearne is.
Wait, is she running now?
No, she was forced away.
As you blast her mind, she's like,
and darts off in the direction,
and then turns around and spins, grabbing her face,
looks up.
Good.
Good.
Good.
She's demonstrating her powers for some reason.
She's going to try and get you.
I mean, with...
Fuck.
Finish your turn, Imogen.
That's all I've got.
Okay.
Fearne.
We have such fucking blue balls right now.
I know.
Because I can't.
Well, make a death save.
Oh yeah.
Who knows, maybe you'll have a second natural 20.
Come on.
Delilah, take the wheel.
Most of us have died how we lived.
Seven.
Okay, so that's a failed save.
So, Mark, a failed death save.
Do I add anything to it, or you just do that?
No. Okay.
Ten or higher is what you want, so.
Okay.
Where is Mr. Orym?
Where are you, FCG?
You mean hit point-wise?
No, just physically.
On the board.
I'm still within visual sight of Orym.
I know what's going on.
I'm still on the board.
Shit, I'm sorry. Fuck.
Okay.
All I do is revoke my weapon.
Are you dead?
I'm down, yeah. Cool.
Okay, so.
It'd be really great if you could just roll a natural 20.
I already failed one.
But like on the next one.
Okay, okay.
Can I?
How far away are you from Orym, FCG?
Oh, I'm 30 feet, maybe? So far?
No, I ran that way.
Correct.
I'm right at the corner of the building, right?
So 45 feet, maybe?
45, 50 or so feet from Orym.
So you won't be able to get to him on your experience.
I am going to with... To Orym?
I mean, Orym.
He's dead.
You don't have Revivify?
Yeah, but it doesn't,
if I get to him on the next turn or the turn after,
doesn't matter.
Just got to get within 10 turns, I got to get to him.
So, Mister is what?
Mister says what?
Mister says what?
So. Hey, Mister!
Mister can do teleportation with a willing creature.
Correct.
Would that work with Orym?
Because he's- He is not a creature at the moment.
Or- He is a body.
He's just a body.
Because, and he wouldn't be able to, okay, understood.
So Mister's going to come forward
and shoot some flame shit.
Would you be a willing creature?
Because you're not a body.
Yeah, she is.
But she's just an unconscious body.
She's not a, I don't think he can't make it to me.
I don't know.
Okay. What's his movement?
His movement is...
Oh my goodness.
Oh my gourd.
Okay.
I think it's 15.
30 feet.
Oh!
That's a wacky monkey.
That is a wacky monkey.
Oh yeah, he could get to me.
It's up to you.
I mean, I don't even know where that would get me.
Okay, flame seed.
Shoot it at her.
All righty.
Nope.
It arcs up.
It's like a person who shoots a bolt in the air
and then eventually.
Okay, that's my turn.
All right, finishing Fearne's go.
Going to use Last Legendary Action to dash back.
Last Legendary Action.
Go ahead and send a little help.
Curse Me, Trashy's going to die also.
And puts you right next to Fearne.
No, it's not been that long.
We're all going to be.
I hope he's going to hold out.
All right. Blasts off straight into the air
and then just unfurl it.
I thought about that.
No!
It has to be on a surface.
I really thought about it.
Skyscraper's just.
So, with that, Laudna?
Laudna's going to get up.
Well, she was already up.
She's, she's.
Right, she called over and got up.
Are you down, Chet?
Intense.
I'm just going to peek around the corner of the house.
Over here?
This side? This side over here?
This side towards me?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right there, yeah.
You see FCG, you see the wreckage,
and you see Imogen up in the air, angrily flying.
Just energy, reddish purple energy,
just.
I'm going to send a message to Otohan.
Okay.
Sorry, I hope this isn't a bad idea.
I'm going to send a message to Otohan.
I mean, we're at the bottom of the barrel.
Yeah.
The Moontide Crown.
Moontide.
Ira.
We know where he is.
Crabbagee.
Do you want it?
I want it.
You have to stop.
Make a persuasion check.
Okay.
Okay, all right, okay.
22.
22.
Okay, as Otohan dashes upward,
and the left-handed offhand blade is drawn,
is about to start heading down towards Fearne on the ground
to start finishing the job that she thought
she could wipe up a lot easier than she could.
Suddenly, turns the head and
looks at you as the message hits.
Huh.
We can help you.
Looks up at you, Imogen.
You hear in your head,
is this true?
Make a wisdom saving throw.
Ooh.
She's checking that shit. She's trying to peek.
Credit check.
Verify your account. Come on, come on.
13.
Congratulations.
Access granted.
You feel that invasive will pushing into your mind.
As much as you try and withstand giving information,
you feel the extraction of interactions, of Ira,
of the device, of the crown, of the escape.
Looks back over at Lorna.
Hmm.
You speak some truth?
Then tell me.
Or she raises the blade up her heads once more.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
What are you telling us? Wait, wait, wait, wait. I'm going to challenge you.
Paragraph says...
We got a direction.
Really lines.
What?
Sorry. Inference. What? Sorry.
Your parents.
Continue.
Continue. Oh, continue.
Sorry, you blew my eardrums out
with your psychic bullshit.
You've seen the ley lines.
Ley lines.
Ley lines.
You could tell us.
I know where they're converging.
Converging.
So do I.
FCG, what do you want to do?
They're not talking, right?
I'm just looking at all the women in my life
just staring at each other.
Yeah.
It's like changes of expression and then glances back.
You'd be able to hear Vellanda whispering.
Oh, okay. You would be able to hear me.
It's like a warm, warm cold.
They'd probably not make out the actual words,
given the sound of the wind everywhere.
Yeah, the weave, the weave, the weavelands.
How many rounds have gone by?
One, just one or two?
Just one round, this is the same round.
We're just kind of, we took a little narrative moment there
in the midst of this chaos.
So on your turn, FCG, what are you doing?
I don't know.
I'm going to move behind the crawler.
Oh god, she's up next, she's up next. Yep. Okay'm going to move behind the crawler. Oh god, she's up next. She's up next.
Yep.
Okay, over here behind the crawler?
Behind the crawler.
Okay.
Hold on one second
while I just look at what this thing does.
Let's touch, yeah, okay.
Action, hide. Okay, roll a stealth check for me.
Behind the crawler, just to make myself
look like part of it.
Yeah, that's a two.
I was going to say, have advantage
because you are metallic amongst a bunch
of other metallic things, given the storm, too.
Guidance. 19. Guidance.
19.
Guidance is an action, so it's just.
Okay, then 19.
Well, then just 19.
Wait, stealth? Yes.
Is Guidance an action or a bonus action?
No, it's an action. Guidance is an action.
Oh, well, wait, don't I usually have
disadvantage on stealth?
Do you?
For what? I don't remember that.
Yeah, because I have armor and stuff and...
Yeah, but you said you're hiding amongst the bunches.
No, this is less about noise-based moving.
This is visual-based.
Okay, then it's just...
Kind of like how it's sound or visual
for different types of stealth.
Then 19.
So 19, okay.
So you shift into the metal and hold.
You got it.
Finishes your turn.
It is now Otohan's turn.
Fucking shit. If I have any spells, yeah.
Looks back up to Imogen.
You're so close.
What does that mean?
That's going to be a crit.
You failed two death saves.
You're out.
I'm out.
Fearne, in the final moments
of consciousness and life on this realm,
as the blade rests above you,
what do you do, what do you say?
Boy, that was a hell of a run.
As the blade goes into your abdomen,
and then with a spray, an arc of red,
that seems to almost turn to black as it hits the dust,
and then scatters off of the wind.
Fearne Calloway is no more.
Run, you motherfuckers.
Are we still fucking fighting?
Goddamn it, this woman.
Run.
Oh my god.
Are you scrooge?
Two more attacks in a round against you.
Oh no.
Oh no.
That's a 20 to hit. Oh no. Oh no. That's a 20 to hit.
That hits.
Okay, that's nine points of slashing damage.
Reduced to four.
Four.
Going to go ahead and do another Psionic Strike
for an additional 12 points of psychic damage.
SAM and LAURA, both,
I got you. No fucking way. 12 points of psychic damage. SAM and LAURA, both, and LAURA, and LAURA, and LAURA,
I cut.
No fucking way.
Is going to go ahead and take her third and last strike.
Against?
You take two death saves.
Yeah.
She's just.
Strikes that third strike into Chetney
and looks up at you once more.
The more you run from it, the more you lose.
There is greatness in you, and our fate is soon.
Embrace it.
We'll be culled like the rest.
You feel this energy in your stomach.
That same energy that is in the center of that storm
in every nightmare you've had, and it scares you,
and you fight it.
It's like staring into the worst nightmare,
and it's calling you.
You know what?
That brings us straight to your initiative
because everyone else ahead of you is dead.
Wow.
Except for Chetney, actually.
Chetney, make a death saving throw
because it's your turn before hers.
Thank you. Oh man.
This is the way we ride.
Can I go back in time and just give her,
for my bonus action, the thing, the ally thing.
Sure.
You have a d6 on your next roll.
This is life or death for Pocky P.
50-meter high dive.
Here we go.
13.
Oh!
That's a success.
Prolonged it.
Imogen, it's your turn.
Oh my god.
Oh my god.
Really, did you just pull it?
Mark your success.
Mark your fucking success.
It's important.
Yeah.
A storm rages in your belly.
Do you fight it?
Ember wants you to battle.
I know she's got so much dexterity, so I can't do this.
Do you fight it? SAM and LAURA say, I'm not losing them to just surrender to you.
You're not surrendering to me,
but to your nature.
I'll fly down.
I'll fly down towards her.
Wait, Mister didn't have to.
I will say, you're far from incapacitated.
You are gone.
When you vanish,
Shoto's the flame tethering him here,
and Mister, you fly down to her. When you vanish, Shota's the flame tethering him here, and Mr. Pompadour,
you fly down to her.
It's a tension lamp.
It's a tension lamp.
I'm going to stay back a little bit.
I'm not going to fly down right in front of her.
I'm already dead, and I've got a tension lamp.
So you don't cry.
Can't provide me with this or something.
Yeah.
That makes no sense.
I'll reach my hand towards her.
There's no logic.
But before I land, I'm going to
witch bolt at 3rd-level.
Okay.
So my hair's going to fly up, my eyes are going to flash white.
I'm just going to hit her with everything I got.
Roll an attack.
Oh shit.
23.
23 hits. Oh god, here it goes.
21 points. 21 points. Lightning damage.
As the arc of energy fires out and strikes her.
It impacts and spreads throughout the torso
and she seems to drop a blade,
reach up and almost grab the tether.
I'm going to hit the ground
and hold onto it.
Come on.
You're so close.
Make a wisdom saving throw. MATT and LAURA say,
I reused your sex.
16, I did.
16, okay.
That same burning in your belly,
that weird, growing, alluring,
calling sensation somewhere deep in your soul,
in the very essence of every fiber of your being,
is going,
Now.
Now, and she sees it.
There's a grin on her face.
There's an excitement,
like a teacher waiting for a student to have a breakthrough.
Does that finish your turn?
I'm going to glance over at FCG,
and you're just going to hear,
you have to save them.
I know.
And I'm going to fly down to her.
You let them go.
You give in, or you all die.
We only need the strongest of us.
Fuck.
She's starting to show some hurt. She's looking a little ragged after that last hit.
Yeah?
Not super down, but...
Fuck.
Fucking mind games.
I hate it. I hate it.
Who gets to go?
Who's left?
Does that finish your turn?
No.
Did you go with her?
I landed in front of her.
You going with her?
The tether is still sparking between the two of you,
and she has almost like a,
not quite she wrapped her arm around it,
but she's just clutching it,
and her fingers are burning.
You can see this dark bits of smoke rising
from where her gloved hand,
her fingerless elements of it,
as it touches it, the skin's darkening
as she's embracing the pain.
All right.
Finished your turn, Imogen?
Mm-hmm. All right.
That brings us to Laudna.
I hate everything.
Chetney's not dead, right?
No. About to be.
You can't get him?
I could. I could.
I mean, finish him off.
Yeah, absolutely.
Murder the fuck out of him.
Wouldn't feel a thing. That would be easy.
Oh, Laudna, thank you.
It's 3 AM, Chetney.
Woodshop, clove.
Uh-huh.
Oh, wow, wow, wow.
Save your last line.
You might have a chance.
Vodna?
Got to get him.
You see her now standing right in front of Otohan.
Yeah.
Okay, okay, okay, okay. Fuck, fuck. with Otohan. Yeah.
Okay, okay, okay, okay. Fuck, fuck.
Yeah, yeah, I do.
All right.
I'm shaking.
I'm ready.
50, which is 60 for... Fantastic.
Get to meet your husband.
I'm going to do it again.
Wither and Bloom on top of both of them.
Introducing my dad.
Wither and Bloom on both of them.
Okay. On top of Chetney and Otohan.
Is that a constitution save?
Yep.
That is going to be a...
15? Fail. That is going to be a... 15?
Fail. Fail, all right.
Shit roll, five damage to Otohan.
Five damage to Otohan.
And you get to roll a hit dice and come up.
A hit dice?
Yeah, whatever your hit dice is.
Three.
So you're at three hit points.
The death save stay. The death saves stay.
The death saves stay?
Correct. They don't reset?
Wait, actually, let me get this right.
No, no, I want you to reset.
No, I think you're right. I think you're right.
Yeah, I don't think I can reset.
I think you're right.
You just click on them again.
Yeah, they're there.
I think I speak for all of Crittergem
when I say if one of us had to live,
thank god it was Chetney.
Well.
Yeah, no one else could do it, that's right.
Sorry, I was on.
I misremembered that briefly.
They're good, so.
Okay.
This is Christmas as it were.
And I fuck, fuck, I guess. You fuck Chetney.
I give in and I fuck Chetney.
We all do at some point!
Unable to...
You can't do any blood under shit. Unable to...
You can't do any blood under shit. Unable to control
the rage and Delilah's force,
I'm going to do a Form of Dread again.
Okay, go for it.
And get some temporary hit points
that will mean nothing.
Okay.
And I'm spooky now.
Okay, there you go.
In the corner.
Perfect, all right.
Spooky in the corner.
It's my autobiography.
Yeah, dude.
I feel like it's all about her.
I'm hiding in the wreckage.
So at the end of your turn, Laudna.
I am fucking useless.
As the tethers are being held,
Wither and Bloom goes off.
Chetney, because of that consciousness,
she looks over, looks at you.
Is she your favorite?
I'll go with you.
I give in.
Don't hurt her.
Ah, but you see,
you don't just choose to give in.
You let go when the moment's right.
She's going to use Legendary Action to dash.
She's coming for my ass.
Bitch.
She's coming for my ass real hard.
There we go.
Even though I'm up, I'm prone,
so I can't make an opportunity.
You can.
I think so.
I'll allow it. Go for the ankle.
Why not?
Sentinel.
As an opportunity attack, you can't grapple, can you?
No, not prone, I don't think.
Can't grab those.
Can you cast this? Grab an ankle?
Grab an ankle.
Tripp.
I'd allow it if you want to.
I mean, he's scrapped, he would.
Yeah, yeah, up to you.
You sure that asshole will?
Try it.
Your character's your thing.
Try to pin her foot down to the ground with your chisel.
So it's in contested athletics on your end
versus her athletics or acrobatics.
Just the foot.
Which I will say, her acrobatics is much higher,
so she's going to take acrobatics instead.
God, that's balls.
That's a 14. She got a 20.
So you reach out for the ankle and she just slips out
as she darts off towards Laudna.
All right, that finishes Laudna's go.
FCG.
Wait, she's just moving.
She's not acting?
No, she can only use one legendary action
at the end of somebody else's turn,
and she uses one to dash.
In her turn. Which gives her to dash. Legendary turn.
Just gives her a free movement.
Boss battle.
Special. I can do anything.
Can you bust all her ass?
I mean, yeah, I can come out of hiding and attack her,
but it's not going to be enough to kill her.
Right? I mean, she's not even looking rough, is she?
She is looking rough.
She says she's looking rough,
but we don't know what's going on.
A little haggard, I think, was the description.
Not rough, a little haggard.
She's starting to look rough-ish.
Ooh, kind of ish.
I don't have anything that deals more than 2d8.
No, don't waste it.
Use heal if you can heal.
Yeah, her having that opening round of initiative.
I can't.
On you before you can.
No, today is the day to battle you all.
I couldn't have rolled into that, could I have,
with my new level seven shit?
You probably went to bed after that.
No, that was first thing in the morning.
Can't be like, you don't suffer a surprise round?
That wasn't a surprise round.
That was just a really high initiative.
Bloody water under the bridge.
She just chopped me in a fucking kibble.
I never did. What you got, Sam?
Grin, yeah.
Well, first bonus action,
I'm going to pump four more temporary hit points into you.
Well, they don't stack. Don't forget.
What do you mean? You can't get more?
Fuck! Temporary hit points don't add up.
They just replace each other.
So if someone has five temporary hit points
and you give them four, they just have five.
Okay. Can you give them to Chet?
It's a buffer that replaces itself.
You're not bonded with him.
Are you bonded with me?
I am.
You don't look like you need temporary hit points right now.
Okay, I'm not.
But I mean, you're going to go with her, right?
Eight hit points means nothing to this woman.
Yeah.
20 hit points means nothing.
So she just chased after Laudna.
She's about to kill Laudna.
It's a war of attrition at this point.
I can only revivify one person.
I mean, I like your plan,
if you can keep me alive.
But I can't, if she sees me pop out,
she can prevent that from happening.
Or just stand over me and wait till I finish
her vilified and kill both of us.
Like, I want to wait till she's gone.
Those are all valid tactics.
What are you going to do?
Hold your action until she's passed, you know what I'm saying?
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh. Yeah, maybe I'll...
You don't have any stabilizing spells, do you?
Where you can just make- It's touch.
Okay, just touch. Okay.
But they're already dead.
I mean, you don't have anything
that just keeps them from,
that 10 minutes can extend that 10 minutes for?
No.
So I'll just bonus action give Imogen
four temporary hit points.
And... What the fuck to do? I don't know. four temporary hit points, and...
What the fuck to do?
I don't know.
And that's it.
Too far away to do anything of value other than run.
And with your turn, she's going to use
another legendary action to dash.
Shhh.
Up to Laudna.
Rushes up, blades out,
looks over her shoulder over towards you, Imogen.
The tether's still attached to the two of you,
unless she left 30 feet, right?
So the tether broke as she dashed away.
Looks over at you, and top of the round is Otohan.
Otohan's going to take one strike against you.
That's going to be 15?
Yeah. 15 hits.
That is 10 points of slashing damage.
I will half that
to five.
Okay. Okay.
So you take five and you have five temporary hit points.
Second strike.
That's going to be a 26.
No, it was an out of effort.
You take 14 points of slashing damage.
Okay, I'm down again.
You watch as she strikes once,
a second time, and Laudna falls back.
While Laudna's still falling in the air.
Third strike.
Is that the grave?
That's true.
Is that once per long rest, or is that every time?
She didn't use it last time.
She got a natural 20.
No, this is a hit.
This is a reaction to dropping to one hit point.
Yeah, you're right.
Okay. It's done.
Well, this is not a crit,
so you take two failed death saves.
As she's falling back in the air from that second strike,
she immediately takes the second blade
and jams it up through her back, which pierces out of the sternum.
And while holding her still aloft,
kind of a reverse Sephiroth situation,
Laudna held in the air, just looks over at you.
It's your turn. That burning in your stomach is screaming.
It is bellowing.
I don't have anything.
Can you wishbolt again?
I'm going to bonus action
and get a second-level spell back.
Make it stop.
I don't know how to make it stop.
She's got fucking nothing.
She tried to offer herself up, I kept going.
Imogen.
Uh! What are you doing?
That call is screaming to you.
Do you continue to resist?
I'll go with you.
She just holds it there.
Let go and give in
to your nature.
Pulls the blade from Laudna.
Her body falls to the ground with a dark spatter
across the rock.
Throws the blade up, catches it.
I'm going to close my eyes, open them, and scream.
And scream Dissonant Whispers out in her head again.
At second level.
Okay.
What's the save on that?
Wisdom. Wisdom.
That is going to be a failure.
That is 12.
She's going to use her last Legendary Resistance to resist it.
Like full spell effect or just she doesn't take the?
She just succeeds in the save.
So whatever the rest of it.
Didn't she already use her last?
She used two Legendary Resist so whatever the rest of it. Didn't she already use her last? She used two legendary resistances
and was holding her third.
I know, I'm just trying.
She only takes five psychic points.
Five points of psychic damage, okay.
Make a wisdom saving throw for me, Jyn.
Don't resist.
I can feel your anger growing in you.
Natural one.
God!
As that burning storm within you becomes.
I roll the fucking Ruinous Dice for it.
That's fucking awesome.
As it burns up from within,
you feel a tidal surge pulling you under,
like the dark abyss of the ocean swallowing you up,
but it's nothing but red, warm, crackling fury.
As it does, the entire landscape around you just turns red.
The dust storm, the wind, freezes.
The sand just frozen in the air.
Those of you who are still here,
notice as the coloration of this entire region of the city
turns a deep, deep red.
Otohan looks back at you.
Yes.
Yes.
This is it.
The rest of you looking at Imogen,
her hair fully extended and levitating,
her skin a deep crimson hue,
where you saw the thin bolts that had stretched at parts of her
are now light and glowing
and now encompass whole facets of her body.
As she stands there lifting,
the very space around her
shakes and adjusts.
As you scream one more time uncontrollably,
all that pain, all that fury, all that vengeance within,
as you unleash it,
you watch as all the buildings tear away,
the bricks crackling around like a whirlwind.
The rest of you are pulled throughout
and with one final scream,
white.
That's where we're going to end tonight's episode.
What?!
Oh! What?!
What?!
What does that mean?
No, I don't, am I dead or alive?
We'll find out next time.
Oh my god!
This isn't okay!
This isn't okay!
That was...
Yeah, it was pretty awesome.
Shit kicked out of us. Fuck.
What? Shit.
No, let's just go a little bit more.
Did we go somewhere?
Did she disappear?
Are we all dead?
Is everybody dead?
Find out next episode, yay!
That was a great game, Matt.
Dude, you guys, well done.
Holy moly.
That was like, oh, this is going real rough.
No.
Well, to that note.
I hate this. We don't know what happened.
You? Nope.
You? We have three people.
Two dead, one about to be dead.
Yeah, two for sure down,
one that's a big question mark.
Yeah.
So we'll pick up on wherever this goes
at the beginning of the next session.
