Now, without further ado, let's begin this episode of Critical Role.
In a small roadside inn, most of the way through the Dvomar Pass headed east,
as you and your companions seek answers to the visions seen by the late Octus Taconas
since reanimated. The Lady of House Royce is curled up in bed next to Tisha Loi.
Where do we find Julian in this room?
I think within these comparably tight quarters,
Julian has a chair leaning against the door entry
to the chamber and is sitting in it,
kind of half-resting, half-conscious.
Elsewhere in the tavern, you hear what sounds like maybe,
Octus and Phyllis, who, due to very different circumstances,
do not need eight hours of rest per night.
Tysha, you wake up slightly,
as you can feel Aranesa shivering next to you.
I look down, bad habit.
I've absolutely bogarded this blanket,
so I'm just gonna slowly kind of give it back.
And I think without trying to do too much magic about it,
she's just trying to use a little bit of arcane
warmth to her hands to try to heat the blanket
as she's tucking Aranesa in.
Tucking Aranesa in,
your hand passes over her ribs on the side of her chest,
and you can feel her ribs slightly exposed
and realize that you haven't seen Aranesa
like drink water or eat in like a couple days.
Her composure has been like through the roof.
She's been very, very composed.
But I think you realize that she's living
in a degree of panic that she has not been able
to like keep anything down or move through the world
in any kind of like reasonable.
You see that she's like struggling, sick.
I'm gonna kind of like pop my head up
Do you look, oh, Ann, you're up.
She needs, fuck.
I'm gonna try to like get out of bed
without disrupting her too much more
and kind of pad over to you.
She needs to eat.
I know she's had some.
Her mind has been elsewhere, but I think.
I think you're right.
It's been.
I can't imagine what the two of you are going through right now.
Both of you.
Can I get you anything?
Let's give you something to eat,
and you can give me something to drink.
Okay.
And I'm gonna like clap you on the shoulder
with those hands that are just a little too warm,
I think, at this point.
Be right back, goodbye.
And just slip out and try to go down to the tavern
to try to get some food and something to drink.
Make sure the window is locked.
Windows locked, heading downstairs.
It's a late hour, but you guys are able to get
some food ready at this.
moment. There's like a very, you know, this is a roadside
tavern, one of the main highways from the fallen Empire of
Obridemia to Khad. So there's meat and bread and plenty of
potatoes and things left over from earlier today. You're able to get plates
and come upstairs. And Julian, not necessarily to your
liking, but there is a sort of room temperature dwarven ale
here at your disposal.
I guess cannot be choosers.
I will see if I can muster or whatever.
Healthy servings can be amassed for Aranesa
and probably realize as I'm doing so that I have barely eaten myself
and snack a bit but begin to lean more heavily
into the ale when it arrives.
I think Tysha can't help herself,
but as she sees that you're trying to portion more out for her,
she's gonna try to push it back towards you.
We can order more, just eat.
And at least that's not Yargrawls.
Do they have that here?
Are we finally free?
Sitting up in bed, Aranesa,
wipes her eyes, sees the plate before her.
I've had a hard time. I've lost my appetite, I think.
I know. My lady, for the sake of not propriety, but we're going to be on the road for a while.
You need your strength.
She puts a potato in her mouth and chews it very slowly.
You can see the familiar, it's just the queasiness of fear.
It's not something in her spine is telling her that at any moment she will have to run for her life.
That's not something that tends to make you hungry.
She looks up, sensing Julian near the foot of the bed.
She looks up and goes,
When the Royces die, we were told that, should we wish it,
a golden boat would bear us across a bright river to ferry.
I don't know if that fairy,
Ferry is still running.
Forgive my religious ignorance.
Do you think he's already been reborn?
Uh, yes.
There's something I don't talk about very often.
When I meet someone, usually I get a bit of an idea, an animal that they remind me of.
And maybe it's a bit on the nose that Ziazzi always reminded me of a falcon.
Also because of that loud screech.
He had a really specific laugh.
Right?
Yeah.
And it was just such a long, hot.
When we first sat on the road, I don't think we had been traveling for more than a couple hours.
I heard that loud screech again.
And I like to think that he's back, and he was letting me know that it's okay.
My lady.
If the boats are not ready, then the boats are not ready, then
And we will endure until those doors open again.
And to endure, we must eat.
We must have our strength.
For you to rise and for me to punish, whatever it takes.
And he slowly reaches out and takes another piece of that potato,
studies at a moment.
puts it in his mouth and slowly choose the flavorless morsel
in a sort of...
Humble bear.
I think with that little, like, bow,
I'm gonna just push Julian towards the bed.
You have to punish, that means you need sleep.
And I can block a door as well as anyone else.
I figured I could sleep when the boy did,
But he's more restless than I anticipated.
You get into the bed.
You see Lady Aranesa looks at you,
the other side of the bed and goes,
they killed our family.
We smell like potatoes.
Not all of them.
I wouldn't be frightened to look for that golden boat
if you were by my side, Julian.
There is nowhere outside would consider me.
to strength, and I suppose, punishment.
She closes her eyes.
And we will return here on another episode
of Critical Role.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hello friends, and welcome to the Critical Role
announcement Playhouse once again.
Appreciate y'all being here.
Before we jump into, of course, the episode for the evening,
Let's go ahead and get some fun announcements done.
All right, so it is Marisha up next.
Yeah, you guys, it's officially December.
Did you know that it's December?
That's the month that it is right now.
Is your promo for the month?
Yeah, guys, I'm here to shout out, December.
12th month of the year, some people's favorite,
some people's nightmare.
But that means a holiday season is in full swing,
which means it is time to put on
our holiday vinyl album.
Critical Role presents
Winners Crest.
And then, of course, you got to shop for
all of the gifts, for all of your loved ones.
It's Crippmas!
It's Crippmas!
There are 10 days left in our
Cretmiss Can't Miss sale,
featuring up to 60% off apparel,
dice, stocking stuffers, et cetera.
Darrington Press games
and more, et cetera.
Until December 14th.
Yay!
It was written weird.
I'm gonna blame the writing.
I'm gonna blame the copying.
Anyway, if you, yeah, I feel like I talk to people all the time
who still don't know that we have a holiday album.
Well, and it's good.
After this promo, they still won't.
This is a real thing, it exists.
It's good, it is.
It's really good music, and you can also listen to it on Spotify, but you should buy the vinyl.
There you go.
Ashley's song could just be on the radio.
It's true.
It's, she's just so talented.
You know what else exists?
Talasin singing punk?
Come on.
No, I'm very proud.
Sam, you're up.
I have more?
Oh.
You're next.
Guys, episode five of the Mighty Nine,
episode five.
The Mighty Nine dropped yesterday,
along with our mid-season episode of Inside the Mighty Nine,
our season one after show,
which dives into all the behind-the-scenes details.
Check it out on priming.
video, on Prime Video!
What?
Or get the extended 90-minute version only on Beacon.TV.
Woo!
Mighty Nine, go watch it.
I've been trying to figure out what your picture looks like with you with long hair.
You look like Jonathan Van Ness.
Oh!
Thank you!
I was like, who is he reminding me of?
You look like Jonathan Van Ness from queer out of fame.
You totally do.
Can we put in a side-by-side in the announcements right now?
Comparing Jonathan Van Ness and...
Can we ask Jonathan Van Ness?
to come play.
I would love to play with them too.
Me?
I would die.
I would die.
Speaking of cool things,
we also recently announced
that Daggerhart is getting an expansion next year
and you can pre-order it now.
This expansion nearly doubles your tools set
with four new campaign frames,
new character options like the witch, the warlock,
the brawler, and the assassin classes.
Over 130 adversaries to challenge with them, the Dread domain, it's awesome.
Plus, there's a deluxe, a deluxe edition box set
with a new GM screen, fear tokens,
and a full set of polyhedral dice,
and oversized D20 for the GM,
and a set of 10 rhombic D12s for players to use
as Hope and Fear dice.
So, pre-order now at Deckerhardt.com
for your copy of Hope and Fear.
Oh, man, I love ass.
Assassins.
I think that concludes our announcement.
So let's go and get us back into the world.
Well, no, that's a lie.
I have stuff to say.
Oh, do not edit this out.
Well, shit, not one moment.
That would have been good to having the prompter.
Just because it's not an impromptor doesn't mean I'm not going to talk.
That's true.
Yeah.
No, Laura.
But now that there's no prompter, I don't know where to look.
You're just going to improv it.
Listen.
Just yes, and.
I'm really good at this stuff.
I hid this before because I didn't want you to see it.
But you can celebrate 10 years of critical role with the exclusive origin bookends that honor the heroes of Box Machina in 99.
You guys.
One side is a golden D20 for Vox Magnus,
got all of our symbols,
and then the other side,
we went with the D12 for Mighty Nine
because of the Beacon.
That's how much.
They're hefty.
They come off.
They magnetize in.
Yeah, they're super cool.
And, guys, that's cool.
It looks like it's magnetized.
It is.
The Dark Horse Direct holiday sale
is wrapping up on December 12th,
and it's the perfect opportunity
to expand your own collection
or share the world of critical role.
I did it.
I did it.
You did, I'm proud of you.
Yay!
I'm proud of you.
I think I want to say.
Yeah, I want to say.
That, anyone else you want to ignore before moving on?
Oh, so many.
We don't have time.
So let's go ahead and bring us back into the world.
Ignore me, daddy.
Ignore me, daddy.
Ignore me, daddy.
Yay.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
I'm going to be able to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say.
Hello,
Welcome to tonight's episode of Critical Role.
I'm Brandon Lee Mulligan, and I'm joined by our one
We were braver than this two minutes ago.
Here the rain-slicked walls of Castle-Sloak,
overlooking a miserable gray little village
here at the eastern edge of Gourmalay.
Three of our companions cling to the wall.
I will ask you for a final time,
Do you want to go around the southern edge of the castle here?
Would you have gone around the northern edge of the castle over here?
Can we ask a question?
Yes, you may.
Being that it's night and rainy,
can we see in the towers on either corner,
torchlight, lamplight, or any indication of centuries
or movement in either of those.
I could probably fly up and check that out.
I'd like you to go ahead and give me a perception,
as I remind our viewers, that in our last episode,
our adventurers, our adventurers made their way to Slocke.
From whence?
Why, from the DeHopshiny Wood?
Chasing down the treacherous Casimir Gavendale
and also looking for signs of the fugitive brother,
Talsidimir Pride Sire, Tayer's younger brother.
You made your way from the fairies of Hawthorne's Glade
and the terrifying undead monstrosities of the Wraith Tree
north crossing the border into Timony
where you met Tholome, the Acha Akeleite,
you met Tasker, the older shepherd,
and made your way up the King's Road,
hearing fomentation and agitation
from preachers of the candescent creed,
learning about the sort of druidic way stations
of traveling dogs and hounds all throughout
the Kingdom of Timeney.
You discovered some history about King Augustus Vallian,
as those who fought with him, referred to him King Gus,
and eventually arrived on an apple cart outside of Slocke.
There at a tavern in the middle of the night,
you met Dame Morgaine, one of the hounds of the king.
A herding dog capable of speech
who was able to speak to you perfectly fluently
and made reference to the Mastiff that Thimble had seen out in the darkness,
referring to him as Hawkins.
Making your way to Slocke, Thimble, spied,
on the converging of the envoys
of the house Taconas, seeing the Lord Dosset
and the Lady Univir, along with an unnamed knight
of the House of Saramai, who delivered the deed of title
to Casimir Gavendale, you saw here,
screaming about the injustice done to him.
They had said they were going to make him a baron
and give him a castle.
And they did give him a castle.
It's this castle right here.
It's rotted.
Rotted, crumbling, in disrepair,
overlooking a village
that Casimir has threatened to double taxes on,
but I'm not sure how it works to double nothing.
So, but he certainly seems intent on making life miserable
for those denizens of the village below this moldering keep.
With some quick thinking,
Wechander Halivar and the demon tyranny
masqueraded as Wakander Halovar
and Dr. Finger.
Let's go.
Quick thinking.
Pro shit.
Pro shit.
Holy shit.
Who are you?
Real quick, three, two.
I'm me.
I'm Dr. Finger.
Oh.
That's just right.
That's just right, folks.
That's my urologist.
Also discovering that Casimir's plans,
seems like all of Casimir's plans have been sort of foiled here,
for indeed he wanted to hang Sid
for stealing the title from him back in Dolmachiar.
And those representatives of the House Taconas told him
that Talcidemir was no concern of his,
which makes you wonder if perhaps
there was a sleeping lion upstairs in that tower.
Perhaps. That remains unclear, but what is certain is that you are standing in the cold and freezing rain, the howl of wind cascading off the stony mountainside.
You look here at rot and ruin, hearing noises from inside the courtyard. Wick, tyranny, you are within the courtyard, having just spoken to Casimir, who seems delighted that the House of Halavar is here.
to help him, Thimble, Kattegan, and Tayor are outside.
What do we get for our perception checks?
Natural 20.
Holy shit.
I would love to remind you, too,
that if you want to direct this somewhere,
since it's so good,
that right before we got here,
I did a perception check of the parapets
and we had no archers.
We had done that check.
So maybe whatever you're checking for,
if it's that fucking good,
maybe not be that.
Maybe it would be something else we could check for.
Well, yeah, I think if there,
If there was, because there's no archers or anything like that, if there is, I think I would go, I'm going to keep it as light and any movement against light on the interiors of those turrets because while there is a crumbling wall on the other side, there's also a big fucking tree over here and cats love trees.
Quality of light. There is dim light everywhere. So visibility is not limited. Basically within 40 feet, it's daylight, right?
past that, you can still see people,
it's just disadvantaged.
Like, even peeking around the castles,
you see the shapes of, putting your dark vision up
is, 60 feet.
60 feet.
I think the issue is the lack of visibility
isn't about the absence of light,
it's the presence of rain,
so there's just so much shit in the air
that even dark vision can't really penetrate it.
Like murky water.
But I will say again, dim light gives no disadvantage
on attack roles or on combat.
It's only disadvantage on,
perception checks.
A lot of this D20, I think with this D20,
anything right within range of you, you can see.
But we had that disadvantage check roll.
Technically, I hate it to rob you of a Nat 20,
but that should be with disadvantage as well.
Do it here.
Much worse.
Much worse.
Seven.
Seven.
Gotcha.
Anything beyond that 40 feet to use a mystery.
You don't know what the quality of light is like in the courtyard.
You heard some yelling, but even that is sort of muffled
by the rain. Within 40 feet, what I can tell you is this.
Soldiers mentality, this is a dangerous place to fight, right?
Fighting and driving rain. What you can see is that there's a lot of farms that are sort of
up on cliffside, which means that, like, soil and mud is coming down.
You look and see some ruin structures out on the mountainsides around that clear, like, mud
slides have taken out. And even the, everything here is, like, mawashed.
slick rock, mud, you think there is a non-zero chance
that like if you were to haul ass here,
you would probably like fighting on a bunch of ridges
and cliff sides and the driving rain is a potential hazard.
I think you actually diagnosed this terrain as pretty hazardous.
Okay.
Is it possible for me to, I see a lot of little slitted windows.
Is it possible for me to go into those
and peek through all those windows and see
which one looks like it would be
Kazimir's living quarters?
Very reasonably so.
Getting in through these archers windows
is no problem for you.
You can flit right through.
Go ahead and give me stealth and investigation.
Can you fly without your ass lighting up?
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay. I can't just ask that to it there.
I'm a pixie.
We go way back.
27.
You can't ask.
27?
27, stealth?
Yeah.
A ghost.
Go ahead and give me investigation.
Oh, that's a natural one.
Natural one.
Flying through.
I can't see myself.
What you can see,
I think on an out-one investigation,
what you determine is that there are no dwelling places
within this castle.
You don't know where Kazimir and the rest have been staying.
You actually see some of the men-at-arms
have bags and satchels up against the walls with them.
On a gnat-one perception, you see that there's almost no chance of, like, a secret place where you can anticipate here or then the castle they're going to go.
In fact, the opposite, their bags are all still unpacked.
And I think you realize with Kazimir's screams from earlier, he may have ordered them to not unpack their bags because a terrible mistake had been made here.
Certain they would not be staying in this place. Something must have gone wrong.
Okay.
Sam, Whitney.
Excuse me.
Tyranny.
Dr. Finger.
Dr. Finger, sorry.
Let's get it right.
She didn't go to fake medical school.
Start of that right.
You see Kazimir turns to you and says,
all right.
Come on in.
As he, you know, he looks at you and says,
all right, follow me.
As he does so, you see he calls out to everybody else and says,
all right, the rest of you, saddle back up, get down that village
and let them know there's a new fucking baron.
And you see that he and two of the knights and one of his crowkeeper companions
begins to walk with you.
You see that, Wick, you look at it, see this sort of crow-mantled
person is wearing full, what looks like brand new made,
full plate armor.
But you can see is walking with a wince every time they walk
in this armor moving forward in it.
Okay.
Okay.
Baron, before we pour the wine, I think that you should have a little
privacy to yourself and get those wounds all tended to so that you can be
and well-rested, and your radiance,
maybe you should show his associate some of your.
My holy magic.
Exactly.
Yes, yes, of course.
I'd be happy to while the time away with your fellows,
your colleagues here, and let you get all cleaned up
by the lovely Dr. Finger.
Baron, do you have a private chamber?
You see, he looks and says, private chamber.
Well, I don't know.
how private a chamber can be when it's not got full fucking walls.
Hi, you're so funny.
Thank you.
I'm strong.
You see he, you see, he,
yeah.
He looks out and says, Rodney is fine.
And you see that he goes, stands over to a fireplace.
He says, a lot of fire.
You see one of the guards looks over, sees no,
wood anywhere. You see, he says, oh, my lord, there's no, and you see he says, yeah,
oh no, go get some firewood. And you see the guy says, but you also, and walks out back into
the rain, looking around. Big-ass countryside. Big-ass countryside. You're in here with one
of his crowkeepers and two of these armored knights. You see, he walks over to this empty
fireplace that you can just see is water is pouring down it into the, just into the castle.
And he just hoists his pants down and says,
Oh, Baron, why'd hate to step on your authority, but I think of that we should be in private,
don't you? I mean, I have to tend to your wounds.
Well, tend to them.
Go on, Dr. Finker. I'll... I don't mind. People seeing what was
done to me by those animals, monsters?
Quite confident, so I guess
that's what it'll just have to be then.
You two, knights and man
and the crow costume.
It's not a costume.
I'm sorry?
It's not a costume.
Oh, uniform?
Mantle.
The symbol of the Baron of Sloke
is the mantle of the crow's feathers,
the most cunning of birds.
You would do what?
to remember this.
Is that Slope telling me, or the guy in the,
the guy in the crow arm?
Yeah.
Of course I will remember that.
Here, let me, um.
You see that the other knight looks at you.
Give me an insight check if you want.
Okay.
Robbie's really nervous.
Nerves are hard.
A little poppy over here.
Andrew, a little popping.
Insight?
Yeah, I get the insight check.
Just an eight.
Just an eight.
Yeah, I think you look over.
you look over, see these knights. One of them has the sort of rusted shield here.
I think on an eight insight, you're just, it's just quiet, aggressive looking people in this room,
staring at you. You see that Kazimir says, tell me of Haleva. Your house has seen fit
to make an alliance with the barony of Sloke. Yes, that is correct. We, obviously,
House Toconis wants to give the impression that they are not in need of
your services, but we of the Hale of ours are.
We saw how capable you were of making sure
that that Fang fellow was murdered,
and we think that we have great use for you
in other business.
He looks for you and says, Fang, you knew of,
you knew of the Aussie.
Oh.
Oh.
You're good, you're good.
I did, yes.
My family was part of taking him down.
He needed to go.
He turns around.
You see, he says, that's right.
There was, I thought I heard, I'd heard a rumor
that your family was trying to circumvent his execution,
or at least that's what the Tacona said when they came to me.
All smoke and mirrors.
My good man, we wanted the people to think
that we were against it, but we wanted him dead.
Give me a deception check.
Come on, come on.
16.
Plus?
No.
Oh, that's a five.
Oh, okay.
Persuasion, so that's an 11.
Or deception.
Go with the demons number.
Also 11.
Also 11, gotcha.
So you see he looks at you
goes yeah well it seems that the lords of the sundered houses do love to play games so well
done your deception works everything i had heard it down in uh dolmarchar was that you were trying
to save the uzi fang's life but i should have known better sundered houses would never break
ranks like that why do you work with the tuconis you are are you not of the faith and they are
Well, I don't know what faith they are of,
but it's certainly not of the light.
How's it going, Dr. Finger?
You know, I would love to just get to work,
but all of this, you know, big, strong man talk is just really distracting to me.
I would love to have a little privacy so that I can do my work.
Can we just, can we, I am a doctor, so could we, could we possibly just,
I'm just going to put you right?
Four inches.
Four inches.
I'm just going to tend to you.
It's going to be so fast.
And then we've got all night to talk about everything
that you, you know, you big guys need to talk about.
I do need you prone.
Great.
I'm going to need you to give me a persuasion check.
It's going to be with disadvantage.
Disadvantage?
Look at those.
I'm a doctor.
Did he see these titties?
He's certainly, the only thing making this possible
is that he saw.
The rain obscures not even that.
My eyes flash with light, and I restore balance to her.
Okay.
She does not have disadvantage.
And you've used this ability already.
No, no, no, don't use it. Don't use it.
Too late.
It's used.
Okay.
I have it four times.
What was the lower of your rolls then?
It was 12 plus 7.
12 plus 7. Okay, 19.
You see he looks to you and says,
why is this you named me prone?
Well, so I can examine you once it.
he cocks an eyebrow and says,
he looks over to you and says,
does Dr. Finger travel with you?
Or has she been brought here to attend
to the needs of Castle Slough?
That's an important question.
She is the family doctor of the Hala Vise.
Oh.
She accompanies me.
I have maladies of my own.
He looks and says, I will, he says, fine.
If you need privacy, then wait until the day's business is done and we will have privacy.
He hikes his pants up, looks over it and leans in and says, says,
Sir, please see that the doctor has all tools that she needs some alcohol or something else to help clean whatever
implement she might have.
He leans into you and whispers,
This doctor, is this a cortisand?
I'm trying to pick up on what's being said,
and it doesn't make any sense.
Are you bringing up?
Is that something that you're interested in?
You said she was a family doctor?
Well, she helps the body in many ways.
Am I hearing this?
Yes, you are.
What does, what does, you see, he looks and says,
All right, give me a deception check.
That's better.
That's a 25.
You see, he looks and says,
House of faith, indeed, I should have known.
Well, let it never be said that those of the cloth
don't get down with some hanky-panky from time and again.
No one's at, celibate.
You see, he elbows you in the chest.
You see, he says, he looks and says,
for your doctor your ministrations are dearly desired and once we have some more privacy come sundown
they shall be yours um you see he turns over to you and says why the ruse about trying to save the
usy um our faith uh uh uh requires uh that um our flock i know of our goodness and our in our
our inner kindness, and we spare the dying.
We give those who have dimmed a second chance,
and The Ozzy was one of those people.
So you wanted to give him a second chance?
Outwardly, that's what we wanted the people to think,
but obviously, men like you and me
have deeper concerns and stonyer hearts.
Stonyer hearts.
Outside, our dear friends.
Cadigan and Tayor.
Fimble has gone in to investigate the castle.
You guys are outside with Wolfrick right now.
Where, what do you do?
I think you begin to hear some noise coming from
the gate at the front of the castle.
What are you guys doing?
What do you think?
Are they gonna cock it up?
I think it is almost assuredly.
Right.
Well, I say we don't make a move until we hear the shit hit the fan.
What do we go from here?
Each take a side?
Split the party, great idea.
It's always worked before.
Divide and conquer.
Yeah, I remember that trick.
The old pincea move.
I have a pinst in a castle, though.
Fuck it, left or right?
Left.
Left.
Always did hang to the right of bed.
Uh...
Incredible.
It's terrible.
Somehow, I'm absorbing your energy.
We have brought this energy.
We have brought this energy here to this space.
We have brought this energy here to this space.
We're all nervous.
So, Tayor, because you are staying to the left,
you will not have to make a stealth check.
You're basically staying pinned down.
Cadigan, you're gonna circle back around
to the other side.
Go ahead and give me a stealth check.
Guide yourself, bitch.
Oh, yeah, well, do.
Sure, 16 plus 4.20.
Thank you.
I have to learn how to be a Druid initiate.
Dirty 20.
If you and Wolfrick pad through in the rain,
You guys move out.
Do you get advantage on stealth because of the rain?
No, that's very interesting.
Actually, they get a penalty to perceptions,
which is sort of, it balances out to be the same thing.
As I'm leaving, just quick to tear, I go,
you need a little extra cover, let me know.
Moving around, an interesting question arises.
Thimble's investigating inside.
You guys get to other side of the castle.
How patient are you once you get into position?
You don't hear, you hear some, like,
I think the rain is too allowed for you to hear any of the conversation
inside the tower.
You hear some movement at the front of the castle.
How long do you stay put or do you act?
For me, it's infinite.
I think as a hunter, I think I sit forever.
Yeah, I think I would try and prioritize the perspective,
probably working up this tree,
also being cautious of anybody up on the turret wall,
but if I don't see bodies,
if I could get that eyeline in, then I would wait as well.
Ready to pounce.
Yeah, I think until it pops off,
I think we're waiting for something.
Taylor, go ahead and give me, as you're climbing the tree.
Overcoming his fears.
Getting up in the tree.
Go ahead and give me, this is gonna be stealth once again.
And yeah, I think we'll say, rather than me
having to roll all their perceptions,
we'll just give you advantage on that stealth role,
like Laura just mentioned.
Oh, baby.
That's a two and a one.
Wow.
That's fucking crazy.
That's a six.
So you're the one that cocks it up.
I just got to call it out.
I've ever done that.
Handsome and big and so much armor.
We are going to roll.
I'm going to ask Travis, how long do you think you
think you, do you think you begin climbing the tree immediately as Cadigan starts moving,
or do you wait a while?
No, I would work up the side, and then I would try to listen for a movement at the top
and around the front of the castle, just in case it's very active in the front, right?
People going back and forth running any sort of patrols.
If that is quiet, then I think I would wait three, five minutes, not too long just in case
it's going shitty fast before I start making it.
So you do wait for a while before climbing the tree.
I'd like you to roll a D4 for me.
Because you're waiting for a while,
the only bad thing is gonna be rolling a one here.
Two, three, or four, it's fine.
That's a one.
How do you wanna screw this?
No, really?
Oh, it is, I can see it from here.
This is the Matrix.
This is the break in the vase.
If you hadn't said anything, would I still bother?
But you said you didn't want to wait for it to get quiet.
You wanted there to be noise out there, correct?
I would have listened for noise.
and if there was no commotion or patrol,
because you don't want to be,
you don't want to rush to a tree
and then start climbing and have your ass out
when somebody comes around the corner.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
None of that happens, then I would start climbing.
Okay.
Getting up the tree partially,
you get about halfway up towards that lowest branch
and the rain, this tree, all these trees are dead
and the limb is not only dead,
it is rotted through that a whole half of the tree limb
comes out with you.
You land prone with an enormous clank of your armor.
your armor. And unfortunately because of that one, the departing guard has not left yet.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, you hear a, what's that? You see, someone said, stone falling from the castle?
No, no. It sounded like steel. One moment. I need just Travis to roll initiative for me.
Oh, fuck. All right. I'm here. I'm here.
Natural 20.
How good.
Where is that most?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Cool.
This is one.
He's a big boy.
On a Nat 20 initiative check,
Tayor, you are on your back.
You are on your back.
Cadigan.
I will say you get to this boulder right here
and can see that because this side of the castle is falling apart,
there's line of sight from a pack mule, several horses,
and a knight.
So if you advance past this stone,
it will be traveling toward the direction of like,
basically like there will be another chance
for you to be spotted, essentially as you go through there.
Travis, Teor is on his back.
You hear the jangling of bridle and rains
coming around the side of the castle.
It is your turn.
Cat like reflexes.
35, dude.
He always lands on his back.
If I burn a bonus action,
am I able to double my walking speed
to try and retreat around the back side of the castle?
Only if you have an ability which lets you do so.
So I don't think I do as this sweet, sweet pally.
Can I?
Yeah, that's a dash action.
A dash action.
Oh, okay.
But however, because you land home,
you have to burn half your speed to stand up.
So 15 feet of movement goes out the door.
So you can get to there, but you could dash over the bush.
Yeah, I could.
You could literally, let me see,
so you would go 15, 5, 10, 10, 15 left at my first.
30, 30, 35, 40, 40, 45.
So literally 45, which is exactly your movement
and then half again, would get you around the corner of the castle.
Yeah, I will do that to keep from kicking this off
on the side, un-aided, I will run and
slide unnecessarily around the corner of the Capitol.
So, we are going to, because you've got that perception
to notice that the difficult terrain here,
you are moving more than your movement in a turn,
which means I'm gonna need a dexterity saving throw from you.
Savings through, saving throw.
Savings through, saving throw.
You're dexterous, you're cat.
16. Cool, awesome.
I'm also going to need yet again another
stealth check. You are going top speed, which means that...
Clank, clank, clank, I'm not... I'm not full plate. It's just one in the front.
So cat, like, you know, like a dice. You're going top speed, but you do have the
advantage. So, in other words, you have disadvantage, an advantage is going to be a straight roll.
Okay.
There's tension, folks.
17.
Okay. That's good.
Taylor, blam. You are up on your feet, sprint around the corner of the castle.
And that's what he looked like as he did.
Have you seen the cabin that's running on the tile floor?
That's your weakness, trees.
That is your turn just in time as two mounted knights ride.
Mounted horse?
Yes.
He's going to call.
Two mounted nights.
Hadn planned on that.
As they move around the side,
and you can hear them riding over there
to investigate, I'm gonna say,
you just got a 17 stealth, right?
Yeah.
So we're gonna make that the difficulty
of a survival check
as they attempt to track, essentially.
Oh God, please, roll out.
Driving rain, each of them only gets a plus one
to this sort of wisdom check here.
They are gonna be rolling with disadvantage.
So they need both of these.
there's two of them, they need both of these
to be 16 or higher.
Not very likely.
And he has bare paws,
so it could be just an animal.
14.
Already failed? Okay.
That person has failed.
Next night.
Nat 20.
No.
It's advantage.
Nine.
Oh my God.
Tayor, back against the castle,
rain slicking down into your main,
going under your main.
armor. You hear two voices around there as we'll go ahead and I'll actually start to remove
some of these pieces so we have a little bit more line of sight.
Fimble, where are you? You have a 27th stuff. Where do you want to be in the castle?
I don't know. I can't see inside of it. I'm trying to look. I've been trying to get out.
But like what tower do you think would you be on the first, second, or third story?
What just happened? I'm just trying to see.
Here we go. I'll remove this here as well.
Oh, because you see my strawberries out?
Oh, okay, okay, okay.
So you could be in this tower, this tower,
this tower, wherever you think you would like to be.
I would probably be in this tower.
Cool.
I would have gone in.
Great. We'll remove here.
I think the second floor has a window
that you can perch in to see the courtyard.
Give me a perception check.
Laura, do it with disadvantage.
Disadvantage, huh?
Oh, sorry, no, don't do it with his advantage.
Do it straight.
Sorry, do it straight.
It's good because it was a two and a one.
God, what?
Okay, perception 19.
So you do see Teor sprint past in the rain
around the other side of the castle.
And slip and fall and a little treat comes out.
Ignore that.
So majestic.
Is there a window on the back side?
Yes, there is.
I'm just gonna peek my head out and look at him.
What? Do they see you?
No.
My pride.
I think you can feel your back just like fell eight feet
out of a tree in the rain.
I've never seen a cat when it falls in the bathtub.
Yes, Teor and Thimble, you hear
both of the knights over by that tree look around at each other
and say, you see you're one of them say,
it looks like this side of the tree just fell off into the rain.
You see another one sort of look off and go,
no living thing can survive villainy of this old castle,
cursed and haunted.
Let's hope the new baron fairs as well as this tree.
tree.
Okay, so some of the guards don't like him.
They wouldn't.
Yeah, I feel like we could swam to get the fuck out.
That's good.
Maybe even side with,
House, hey, little boy.
We have hookers, apparently.
Yeah, I don't know why I didn't think
I was walking right into that.
And craft services, you got a deal.
I mean, I don't feel like I arrived there.
You know what I mean?
Does it make sense?
No, no.
I'm doctor.
The finger and everyone goes like, well, let me try to put two and two together on what's happening.
Either this is what's going on with the medical profession in Dolman.
I'd like to remind everyone that Wickhander last episode went,
she's a medical doctor. Stop looking at her tics. And now I'm a whore.
Yeah, yeah. Hey. That was the group answer.
A cortisone. A cortisone. A cortisone. A cortisone. And a doctor still.
Yeah, you both ones. Exactly. Why put limitations?
Hell yes.
Tayor, pending against the side of the castle now,
do you hold off, are you staying here for the time being?
I think after a moment you see the night
sort of ride around this area
and you hear them begin to ride off back to the front of the castle.
I think with Thimble having seen My Majesty on full display
just a moment before, I'll,
no, I think I'll actually try and try my luck
over on this side.
Like, just see if I can.
can climb up a little bit,
and then I'll start to make my way back around where I was.
Okay, and are you going into action immediately?
No, I will hold.
Cool. You hold, Cadigan is waiting infinitely.
Thimble, are you holding as well?
I mean, can I see into the courtyard?
Can I see anything that's going on?
Yeah, give me perception.
Especially knowing there are people out front now,
like if that number can change, you'd love it.
That's a, 22.
Jesus.
23, no, 22.
Hell, yes.
In fact, the number changing is what you see.
I think in this moment, the reason I keep asking
about your guys, whether you are holding or not,
is that you look in and see the processional train,
like you look up through the gate and see that the group,
the same group that these two encountered going down the mountain
is about to prepare to do exactly what they were doing,
which is going back down the mountain,
down the mountain to announce the Baron of Slocke
to the villagers, which means two nights,
four men-at-arms, and Sir Gully breeches,
which is who you encountered on the way down,
are about to head out.
Great.
Do you hold?
Yeah.
Just preserve Sir Goli breaches.
That's all we want, man, is keep gully over.
He's a shit-haired.
Let him germinate a little bit.
We got to decide hit the big part of this, right?
Half of the men at arms.
and a third of the knights are about to dip up.
Correct.
Tight, tight, tight, tight.
So, with all of that being said, one.
The three crows stay.
Two.
Yes, you see that three, four, four.
I will now show you, as that processional heads out,
I will show you who is left in the castle and where they are,
in particular.
So, Casimir here.
He has two knights beside him.
That plate armor?
Which one's Kaz?
Cass is the one in black in the middle.
Okay.
Right here.
Another crow keeper over here.
There's all in the room.
Just this one little teeny room.
No problem.
with you two.
Yeah.
Yeah, we can just do our thing and kill them all.
Well, you can kill them all.
Listen, I'm, Tyranny's a virgin.
I'm about to get laid for the first time ever.
Oh, no.
Wow.
Wow.
Just a general question.
No, I'm not about.
I'm not about to get a door.
We're about to do something else.
Do we know if that door opens in or out or both ways?
the door to the gates?
Yeah, would we have seen them go into that little room?
Would we have seen them go in the room?
Oh, yes, you saw them go in the room for sure.
The door helps.
The door definitely helps.
There's a guard outside the door too.
It looks like it.
You see some men at arms out here.
There's still a lot of people.
Are these buddies out front still castle guards,
like castle, like in-house castle guards?
Are they staying...
This little crew here?
Everyone you see should now be placed on the board.
They're playable.
So everything you see isn't play.
I'll describe the layout to you.
There's one knight tending to these horses
and the pack mule out here
as another, as gully breaches and two other knights
take horses heading to the village with four of the men at arms, right?
Leaving in this moment,
a knight posted outside the tower door here.
There's another crowkeeper, four men-at-arms here, right?
So in other words, it looks like there are two men-at-arms
at the front of the gate, two posted in the interior courtyard,
one of the crow-keepers talking to them.
I think Thimble, looking out through the courtyard,
you see that crow-keeper looks around and says,
all right, guess this place is home,
and begins to...
I'm just the only way to see it.
Can we scoot it a little bit?
Let's scoot it forward.
Here, I got you.
And in fact, let's go ahead and remove these correlations.
Oh, no, oh no.
We got it.
We'll remove this and we'll scoge it forward
for everybody to be able to see.
These can come down as well.
Here we go.
Oh, okay, okay, okay.
Everybody, take a look.
And so, Wick, you were in there
with Kaz and one of his crowkeepers
and two nights.
There's stairs in this little room, too.
Anyone who wants you, by the way,
can give me a perception, you can give me a perception
if you'd like, or an insight
as you're trying to effectively size up your opponents.
Are you still?
Yeah, that's my question.
Are you still in the middle of your turn?
Yeah, yeah, hit it, hit it.
I mean, yeah, but I would, any,
as soon as I saw everything that was happening,
I would have flown out to, like when they settled,
I would have flown out to tell,
Teor and Kattegan what was going on?
The two kiddies, what was happening?
It's the twin cats.
Oh, the tour banner.
Thank you very much.
Put some respect on that shit.
Yeah, go ahead.
And then I might make a play after you.
I don't know what I'm rolling for, but I just wanted to go
tell them what was happening.
Cool. Thimble, no stealth needed.
Like, at this point, you've made so many successful stealth checks
that I think the run of the castle is yours, essentially.
essentially. You dipped out to tear or can find Cadigan posted on the other corner and basically give the layout. What you see at the end of your turn is that last crowkeeper looks at the footman and goes, all right, let's take a look at home and begins to walk into one of the other unoccupied towers to look like just to get a lay of the land, explore. You see that other crowkeeper similar. You notice what Wick noticed, which is that he's walking in beautiful new full plate armor.
crow mantle and is like lurching uncomfortably in it.
Does it look like he doesn't know how to wear it?
Yes.
Okay.
While I have a moment, I'm getting medical supplies, right?
As instructed.
Yeah, you're laying out your instruments.
Yeah, while I have a moment alone, I'd like to perform a little esoteric right.
Okay.
And get my spell slot back.
Okay, hell yeah.
As you start to do your sort of instruments and stuff like that and prepared,
What does your esoteric right look like?
I'm whispering to myself, but I'm going,
Sharathy, Sharathy, hear my prayer.
You see that one of the knights looks over and says,
it sort of turns over the other night and says,
It's nice to see a woman of faith.
Demon deeds are done.
Your power.
That old time religion.
Old time.
You see, so within that room, I think Thimble, you're able to report all that, but you do see that now there is one of the crowkeepers who's, like, sort of skulking around the castle, and it's going to be, like, sort of maybe patrolling.
Okay.
Wick, tyranny, inside. You see Casimir looks and says, so tell me about what I, what you see, you see, Casimir, looks, and says, so tell me about what I, what you see.
I can be to House Halevar and in turn what use you might be to me.
Well, oh boy.
Thank you. Thank you.
That's wrong.
Thank you.
What do you know of House Halevar and of our operations here in Timeney?
You see, he looks and says,
I know enough. I know that the creed has been hard at work, helping out the earls of
Timony, as it were.
We have. We have. Yes. And that's what we need help with, even more. There is an earl.
Oh, boy.
There's an Earl.
The Earl of Vallow?
Vallow.
There's an Earl, the Earl of Vallow.
Do you know him quite well, or have you met him yet?
No, I can't say that.
Well, you will be meeting him soon.
We waited for audience in Ardrin, but the Earl was detained,
busy, so he didn't make time to meet.
Makes sense, I'm not, obviously,
I'm not one of his vassal barons,
so I understand that once my business is up here,
I will be expected at the court of Gormelay
for his earlship there.
Yes, of course.
Well, that seems pretty important.
What's, do you just smoke?
Should we go out for a little?
little smoke outside, possibly?
Sort of miserable outside.
Sure, I know, but I don't want to smell up your nice castle in here.
The smell of tobacco would be welcomed on this moldering rock.
The fuck.
Right, about that.
I just farted.
Well, uh.
I'm all set.
What medical instruments do I have access to right now?
You made this up.
I have no idea.
What is that?
You said it, alcohol.
He assumed you had doctor stuff.
What other, I mean, what do they have?
Alcohol? Yeah, bring some wine, bring some mead or something like that.
What have you laid out on the table?
I have found a small, like a long, well not like a sounding rod, but like a big needle.
A big needle, gotcha.
See, he just looks over and that and goes, ugh.
And alcohol and, yeah, yeah.
And I'm ready.
Whenever you are, Baron.
Should we give you some privacy here?
Should we all leave the room?
I think we should all leave the room.
Unless you want to watch your radios.
No, I don't care to at all.
That's your business.
Let's all leave the room.
Hell yeah.
Give me a DC-25 persuasion of disadvantage.
Well, it's already a fourth.
You see Casman listening and says,
Why are you so fucking interested in getting me alone?
What is it that you think?
He gets in your face and says,
What's the fucking play here, mate?
You think I'm fucking stupid
because I wasn't born to this?
I'm a fucking gutter thief that became a baron,
so I'll have some respect put on my name.
put on my name. Do you understand? What use can sloak be to you? Explain it to me. Why are you
Lord Halevar on the road with no attendant knights, no footmen? Why didn't Toconis
mention you were coming? Five, four, three, two. All right.
I will cast.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, in a closed room.
Yeah, here we go.
I will cast thaumaturgy.
Okay.
And on my voice, and I will yell,
Help!
No!
No!
Yeah, he bailed, he bailed, he bailed, he bailed, he bailed, he bailed.
Of course he did.
Okay!
I don't know!
I was so close. I was so close. I was going to whisper, I was going to whisper poison spray into his ass.
Why didn't you do it? Because he couldn't get alone.
Yep, yep, yep. This is one way to do it.
Okay. You scream, help at the top of your lungs. I think we are going to roll an initiative.
I think we are.
Before we do that, can I cast suggestion?
I think that Sam has screamed help suggestion.
If you roll well on an initiative.
With the prior knowledge that he said
that he has health issues.
Okay.
I'm gonna do this.
I'm gonna be super nice.
I'm gonna be super nice.
I want everyone to acknowledge with eye contact
that I'm being super nice.
Acknowledging, acknowledging, acknowledging.
You are gonna roll with advantage on your initiative.
All right, I'll take it.
I'm not rolling in the advantage.
Okay, I'll see y'all in a couple minutes.
Oh, two.
Not 20.
Oh, Doctor.
How about that?
The doctor is in.
Okay.
You.
Dr. Finger is in.
Where?
Okay.
Katting, what would we get for initiative?
22.
22.
Wick, what do we get?
Dirty 20.
Ooh, good rolls may save all of you.
Tyranny.
Nat 20.
That fucking rule.
Thimble, what'd you get?
For 22.
For 22.
So are you before or after Cadigan?
Decks, right?
Probably.
I believe Cadigan got a 22 and Witt got a 3020.
But you got a 22.
You got a 20.
But I'll say Nat 20 for us, beyond a 22 goes first.
Beets everything else.
Yeah, of course.
Thimble, what'd you get?
17.
17, and Tear, what did you get?
Five.
Five, five, okay.
Um, tyranny, you are going to be first to act.
I have so many teeth.
I'd like to cast suggestion.
Okay.
On the Baron.
Okay.
And say, now, now, that's what just calm down.
Barron.
My associate here, he does have health issues, and it's been a long, long day.
I think that he needs a break just as much as you do.
I know you have important business to do,
but you are wounded.
And I think that this meeting could go all night.
I just want to get you feeling better.
Incredible.
We are going to roll for his wisdom save.
The difficulty that you have here, I believe, is 15, correct?
Yes.
We're going to keep this super honest,
because it could get so nasty.
On a 15 or higher on the die, he will save.
Odds are in your favor, but not a guarantee.
That is a seven.
So the magic fades over him.
We are going to drop.
As the magic sort of rolls over him,
you see that there are no magic users anywhere on the road.
Unlike on the road when they spotted him
spellcasting for the first time suggestion,
I believe is verbal only.
You've already been doing this kind of esoteric ritual.
you see that the spell,
see this enchantment sort of pass over him.
What is the actual part,
like you sort of hidden the spell
in this longer sort of like dialogue to him.
What part is the magic part
that actually wants to compel him to a course of action?
Like what's the thing you want to compel him to do?
I think that you should clear your men out of here
and tell everybody to leave you alone for,
For the next while, at least.
You're going to be incapacitated.
So the part you want him to really focus on here
is clear your men out.
Just me and him, alone in the room.
Yeah, gotcha.
You can see within range.
I can hear and understand you.
Preachers it can't be.
Okay.
Suggestion da-da-da-da-da.
Push.
I'm saving through it, pursues the course of action,
you try the best of its ability.
You have magically influenced him.
I'm still going to ask for a persuasion check to see.
He will do that.
You have used magic on him.
I want to see how much extra gravy gets poured on this
based on your persuasiveness.
DC 10 is going to be good.
DC 20 is going to be even better.
That's a 10.
10, okay.
You see he looks at you smiling,
looks over at Wick,
Sorry, I have claustrophobia.
He said, he looks at you and says,
Your lord would do well to heed your wise counsel.
And as for your help, to whom were you shouting?
I'm telling you, I get wildly claustrophobic in stony, stony places like this.
I just, I was saying help to just sort of get out of this place.
That's why we kept out asking you to get alone.
Give me one last deception check.
Oh, God.
That's at 13.
He looks at you, he smiles.
You think me a fool.
The Ozzy Fang was a brother to me, saved his life.
They were depending on you to come through.
It was you, wasn't it?
They were depending on you to save him,
his brother, his family, his loved ones.
but you've got nobody at your back.
I smell it on you.
I know when someone's in out of their depth,
you're all like our friends.
You were to the man of born,
a house cat caught out in the rain
with everything out in the alley.
You're fucked.
You'll spend the rest of your life calling for help, mate.
Because you're not help to anybody.
You, doctor,
are welcome to stay.
Take this gentleman outside,
put him on his knees,
and put a sword to his throat,
and if anything happens to me,
kill him.
And he...
Ow!
And he...
So seen.
To be seen.
Had a penetrative game.
The room clears out.
It's you and Kaz in here.
Jesus.
Oh, no, but he's, okay.
It's a good run.
And Wick, you are put to your knees.
I'm going to, once again, roll a perception check
for this crow keeper who's moving around.
I have everybody's rolls that you made
for your last stealth.
Kattegan, actually, we're gonna do a new stealth.
All of you guys roll with advantage.
here on stealth.
Oh, that's? Okay.
Am I still hidden?
Am I rolling for this?
You're rolling again because a new crowkeeper
is like moving around the castle looking for people.
That's great.
Advantage though?
Yeah.
Oh, thank God.
Thank God.
24.
Great.
26.
Gee, that's at 20.
Nice.
What is with you?
Wow.
Incredible.
Up to up to up to.
Real whack today.
Can I ask a question though?
Mm-hmm.
This is all, this scene that we've just watched
is all just transpired inside, right?
Inside.
And what I just heard was a booming thaumaturgy
help, correct.
Then it's hard for me to justify not taking some kind of action here,
even though it seems like above table that I would do something
but you would see shortly after him coming out the door
with sword to his throat.
I think in this moment, Kattegan,
to go through initiative, right?
So, like, essentially, tyranny has like stopped us
from popping off into violence immediately.
However, you should react to that big scream of help.
What I will say is, what I will say is this.
You see this night with the horses,
I think you hear that big scream of help.
Let's stay in initiative.
I will say that after that scream of help,
you don't hear anything else.
You don't hear combat.
You don't hear spells going off or anything.
But we'll stay in initiative for right now.
It is your turn, Kattegan.
What would you do on your turn,
seeing that this knight is about to sprint away
from the horses into the castle?
Yeah, I think this is all sort of,
he's been in hunter mode,
but I feel like his soldier days are coming back to him
and he's thinking strategy in his head.
and even though he's a little bit rusty.
And he hears that big help.
And I think at first he wants to jump out and run out,
and then he slows himself.
And he looks at the space.
He looks at the soldiers ahead of him.
And he looks at Wolfrick, and he's like,
we need better numbers.
He's going to clip real quick Wolfrix armor off.
And he's going to say, draw him off.
Use the horses.
I'm going to use that movement 120 feet.
I'm going to cast a fog cloud.
over this general area where the horses are.
And then a second later, for my action,
I'll use Wolfrick Speed, and these guys will just see
a completely nude wolf bound out of the fog
and start to go after the horses trying to lead them
in front of here.
Just like a wolf attack.
Hell, yes.
That is fucking sick.
As you're doing that,
Wick, you're being led out of that door
realizing that you have called for help
and that your friends may be coming to you.
So you'll be able to act before Thimble and Teor do.
Is there anything you want to do
realizing that they may come charging in?
Well, now that she's alone,
I have no message spell.
I have no way of indicating anything to them.
Has the door closed?
The door is about to close behind you.
Egg.
Egg.
You still have thomatergy active.
You could just, like, you know what I'm saying?
Like, you have the thing that you did.
Sure, right?
As you're considering what to do on your turn, fog-clothed.
Is it my turn now?
Yes.
Okay.
It is about, yeah, because you've got a 20.
You got a dirty 20.
With, there's a trait that I have with Wolfrick and his build
that's silent bond.
Yeah.
So even though those few words were spoken,
I think there's this innate sense of,
hunting together for the last seven, eight years.
Hell yeah.
Where Wolfrick understands my intent.
And the intent is to, you know, spook these horses
and draw the soldiers out in front of these other two
with the goal of being like, oh, fuck, the horses are taking off.
That's the goal.
Hell yeah. Go ahead, Robbie, give me a couple athletics checks
actually on behalf of the horses.
They just need, so it's just DC-10 for them to break the snap
to get out of there.
And they add plus two.
So you just are trying to roll an eight or higher for each.
horse. Great. That's, uh, man, that's such booty dude. Oh, wait, athletic, so I get the,
no, it's plus two. Plus two. That's a three. That horse sucks. Oh, that was a nat one?
That was a nat one. A miserable father. Okay. Go ahead and roll another one. Okay.
Wow, we're cooked here, gang. No, oh, sorry, 17. Okay, 17. Great. And then roll one for the
pack meal for me. I'm one for the pack meal. He's strong boy, 14. 14.
You see that as Wolfrick darts off,
this horse, the fog, totally surrounding you.
Wolfrick leaps out of the woods.
As this knight is turning to prepare to run,
this far horse looks like a big, powerful destrier.
Just insane eyes wide, snaps the branch off
and starts to run.
The branch rattling behind it, scraping its haunches
because it just pulled part of the rotted tree.
As Wolf-Rick,
tears off after that.
This guy's tied to the main trunk,
can't pull it off.
You see this pack mule rips off of his,
sees Wolfert go past him,
and the pack mule, who is fucking down,
begins to chase after Wolfrich
to save the horse.
Yes, they're mean.
Yeah, they are, they are.
You see this night, seeing them take off,
sees the pack mule take off and goes,
you see that she fully armored,
but you see that her armor, unlike these crowkeepers,
is like old rusted half plate.
She goes, there goes.
was our fucking food.
And she says, hey, hey!
And starts to run inside to everybody else being like,
horses, horses are gone, pack mule's gone.
That is her turn.
Yeah, food is gone.
Food is gone.
Food said food.
That is going to be,
I think on her turn she immediately starts to undo
this other horse to go chasing after the others.
but she calls out Teoran Thimble.
Are you entering initiative or are you gonna hang tight?
I would have tried to find a way to get into that tower
the minute I heard help.
So I probably would have flown out
from this window over here and gone into a window on this tower.
Hell yeah, give me, you just rolled stealth.
What was just rolled for stuff, 26 or something?
26.
You dart in there, you can literally hear Casimir speaking.
It's the first time he was like hurt,
since you saw him in the courtyard,
but you're like, you're within a round's movement of him.
He's down there with tyranny.
You're on the second, I'll say,
you're like right at the top of the steps right here.
Teor.
I'm gonna come back around the corner.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm not gonna let this tree beat me.
Hell ya.
Try, climb this fucking tree one more time.
Here we go.
Instead of going all the way of a horse.
Do you want to do it stealthily?
No.
No.
No.
Hell yeah.
Shit's been falling off it.
It's got termites in it.
It's in the fucking rain.
Okay.
Go ahead and give me an athletics check if you'd be so kind.
Hell yeah.
So much better.
What is that?
Super cock.
22.
22.
Yes.
Taylor, going up, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, go ahead and actually, no stealth check necessary.
The horse is screaming, perfect cuff.
And you can see, as you're going up the tree
to the castle wall over here,
you can basically see that this knight has run in.
You see that one of them calls out and says,
Dame Cosgrove, what avails you?
And you see that she ends up going, she says,
the pack mule and one of the horses, we need,
run after them.
If we lose this, this is some great percentage
of the Baron's total wealth is running down the mountainside.
on the mountainside.
And you see,
she turns, you see
this dude right here
says, looks like the other guy and says,
keep to the prisoner.
And he, Dame Cosgrove,
and they pull two other men at arms
with them,
begin to peel
off. As
they do so, we are
going to go back into, once again,
like, peeling people
out. You guys are seeing that this is as much a social
encounter as it is a battle encounter.
Wick, you are
fully prone. You've been thrown
to the mud. This knight has
a sword pointed
with a fully readied action to
just plunge this sword in between your
rib blades.
Are you doing anything
on your turn? I will
Yes, I will. I will tell the man. It's just me and him.
There is, there's some other, so these two men, so this leaves one guard here and one guard here.
They are beginning to leave, but just like last time, how you act in the round or two
it takes them to get out of here matters a great deal. Sure. So. I will say to the man who's
holding me, I am a noble and there is no need to treat me this way. Let's all just
Let's all deal with this in a friendly manner,
and I'll cast friends on him and ask him to just take a step back.
Go ahead and roll persuasion for me.
With advantage?
Uh-huh.
Okay.
Uh, twenty-three.
Okay, okay.
He removes his sword from your ribs.
You see that the crow keeper next to you, wearing full plate,
says, why is sparing him?
Would you spare a common criminal?
Or is this one just highball?
And you see that that rogue puts his boot on your head
and begins to push down on the side of your head ever so slightly
into the mud of the courtyard, such that to breathe.
So you go into a, start to form of puddle
and like half of your mouth in one of your nostrils
starts filling with muddy water as he just steps down
and says, even if I die, I got to step on the hill of his head.
You fucking hate me.
I'm a nice guy.
You look at
Kattegan, your ploy has worked
phenomenally. These animals have all departed.
You guys basically hold off.
It's almost like we're going through another round of combat
as the rest of these soldiers.
You've peeled off more than like two-thirds
of the fighting force that was going to face you here.
According to plan.
Inside, however, Casimir turns to you, Tyrannine,
just going.
Where do you hail from, Doctor?
Oh me, I'm from South Timony.
Oh.
Mm-hmm.
Little town.
You never heard of it because you're a big baron.
And anyways, my parents, they just scrounged up
all the money that they could afford to get
me to be a doctor, and then I got this great job with the halo. There really are something great.
You know, Wakanda, he's a little, you know, but I'd rather be stationed here if you need a doctor.
You speak so glibly of your lord. Has he not commanded your loyalty or inspired your reverence?
Oh, no. He's been very, very kind to me. The whole family has. He's just, you know, he's got some
issues. It makes it difficult to travel. You saw his little temper tantrum. But he's great. He really is.
and I do think that he could be a friend.
Is it okay if I call you Kazimir?
My name is...
Jizabel.
Jizabel.
Jizabel.
Jizabel.
Jizabel.
Jizabeth.
Yeah, and this guy calling you a courtesan was way out of pocket.
Jizz finger.
You see, he says,
Jisbele.
Enchante, Gisbele.
Enchante, Gisbele.
And you see he kisses your hand and says,
On Chanty.
He says, well, perhaps, yeah, if you could take a look at my injury.
I don't think it's actually that severe, this mostly, you know.
Oh, no, but we need you in top form.
I mean, the HaloVos really are so excited to work with you.
I mean, just everyone.
I mean, I shouldn't.
Doctor.
You don't have to lie, not on his behalf.
I shouldn't say at a turn.
I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry.
You're traveling with him. He has no guards. He's not here on behalf of his family. I know that. Listen, listen. I want to work with you. You're a doctor. You're an accomplished woman. That fool out in the mud outside. I know a rat. He's a rat. He might not think he is. He might think he that he's someone special, but he's a fucking rat.
He's not a rat. He's not a rat. He's trying his best. You might be right about something.
some things. And again, I don't want to speak at a turn, but he is aligned. Now please drop your drawers. I promise it's nothing I've never seen before.
All right. You see he drops his drawers. And Casimir Gavendale, Fimble, you can see from the darkness. You see the badly lacerated ass of the man who killed your true best friend.
He puts the ass and lacerated.
A laugh.
Is he laying down on the ground?
Does he just bending over?
I think he is...
A throne.
I think he actually says...
I'll run.
And you see that he takes off his cloak,
lays it on the ground, and lays down on top of it.
Can I do a quick check to see if I see thimble?
Because you're at the window?
No, no, I'm at the top of the...
Give me perception.
Which I have really good stuff.
really good stats on.
We all do.
11.
You do not see them.
Okay.
Okay, I'm gonna start just dressing these wounds,
but we're gonna get you right as rain in no time.
Tell me about yourself.
I like to talk while I work, and I'm dressing the rags with alcohol,
and I am just dabbing at them.
And I have an above table question, which is that if I do,
cast poison spray into his ass.
Will he know that he's being attacked?
Or can I say, it's just you'll feel a pinch.
Any significant damage to cause hit point damage
will be well beyond the boundaries of disinfectant.
Of disinfectant.
It would be similar, being like,
you're gonna feel a little bit of pressure.
Blam!
The ass is on fire.
I will say to where we are right now.
Yes, so.
Don't let that deter you, though.
Yeah.
Now's not the time of your account.
Looking at, you have a window going out.
You can see that those chasing after the horse that has run off.
You also recognize the growl of a wolf.
So you know that your friends are at work outside the castle peeling people off.
And you can assume that I'm fine.
Teor, you get to the top of the wall.
As you do, I'm going to see the distance in feet you are
from anyone in the courtyard.
He doesn't have line of sight,
and you're beyond 40 feet for him.
So you're moving fast up the tree, which is disadvantaged,
but the rain is giving you advantage.
so give me a straight stealth check.
Okay.
That's a 21.
Damn.
So big cat, fucking armored cloak.
You are standing on top of the wall
and can see Wick down beneath you,
everybody else here.
What you do not see is you know there's a crowkeeper
skulking around in the castle somewhere,
inside one of the towers maybe.
But that's where you land at this moment.
Cattigan, Fogg, Wolffert takes off.
Yeah, once he clears out that section,
I'm gonna, and his gear is down there where we were.
Yeah. I just want to scale the nearest parapet
to get into the courtyard.
Hell yeah, go ahead and give me athletics.
Okay. Let's do it. Which is going to add up you.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Eight, but thankfully I can add eight, sixteen.
Ooh, baby.
Kattigan, you are up and over the tree.
Kattigan and Tayor.
Twin cats, you guys come over the wall.
In my mind, I like to imagine it being insane.
Yes, that's okay.
And through the rain, the rain dripping off the eyebrow.
Yeah, yeah, a little way.
We're going to get a little felt.
Hell.
Yeah, I would use my whole turn just for that positioning
and scaling.
And then hold from there to see what happens.
Because I still don't know what the fuck is going on inside the walls.
Give me another straight stuff.
Another straight stuff.
Come on now.
Just strip the coolness away.
We got the descriptions out of the way first.
We got them out of the way first.
I don't have any help because my wolf is gone.
That was a nap one.
Wow.
All good.
So here's what's going to happen.
You guys landed, no one in the courtyard sees you.
Everything's going to plan, you look down, you have time.
Tyranny, you are prepared in the room.
He is prone on the ground, Casimir Gabbendale.
And his pants are still on, but they are around his ankles, mind you.
His pants are around his ankle, don't worry.
All terrain is difficult terrain for Casimir Gavendale.
That's true.
You ever try to do a burpee with your pants
around your ankles?
That's tough.
As you land cat again, on a Nat 1 stealth,
Nat 1 represents a catastrophic failure,
not of ability, but of luck.
As you crouch, you are here.
The door right here opens,
and a crowkeeper steps out
and is immediately adjacent to you
looking right at you.
and goes, uh, uh, and, uh, we are re-entering initials, tyranny.
Sorry, gang.
Tyranny, we are first act.
I cast hold person.
Okay.
Um, and I'd say, I know what you really need.
You need to be held, don't you?
And I cast whole person on.
Koumo.
Kamo.
Here we go.
Um, uh, I'm so glad I did that incantation.
Hold on. I have to redo this battle because you guys have very serious.
You guys, I have to say, I know, this, I'm your enemy, be scared of me.
But I am always, you told us before the show that this is the real combat meant to destroy people based on the location.
We know how scared we were.
Oh, yes.
You guys, you guys have absolutely nailed the, the espionage portion of this encounter.
Way to go.
I do it.
It's so good.
You got him right where you want.
Help.
Move.
Here we go.
Okay.
Awesome.
So good.
I fucking love it.
Okay.
We're resuming the encounter.
Tyranny, you are casting hold person on Casimir Gavindale.
Yeah, I just want to hold him a little bit.
Once again, this is very momentous.
I'm going to say 15 or higher in front of the board.
That is an eight.
Yes.
You see he roots to the spot as hold person
takes effect.
Isn't that better?
Unbelievable.
Any bonus action from you or any movement from you?
I would like to, there's guards outside the door.
I guess I don't know where they are.
Yeah.
I would like to.
However, with him held, there is no noise.
There's no sound of conflict coming from inside the room just yet.
Is any, oh.
I'd have something in his mouth.
Oh!
Yeah, I would like to, I'd like to take one of the wet
with alcohol rags, and I'd like to shove it in his mouth.
Hell yeah.
He gets a, you see his skivies just lamb in the alcohol in his mouth.
And he is paralyzed and incapacitated on the ground.
Right.
Tyranny, that is your turn.
Yes, as part of being held, he is also speechless.
He cannot speak.
We are going to move down in initiative order.
Solid, incredible work, tyranny.
Cattigan, that is your turn.
Dr. Getsfinger, please.
Dr. Chisfinger, please.
So since I just scaled, my weapon is still holstered
and I immediately presented to this man.
I'm like, fuck.
Grab?
Lapel's shove, but I'm gonna try to shove him
up and over the parapet that I just climbed off.
Hell, yes.
The old castle toss.
Let's go, the old, and I think too,
you see what you know to be a rogue
wearing full plate armor.
Oh, this is the rogue and full plate armor.
This is one of the rogues in full plate armor.
So we are gonna go here.
He's gonna be heavy.
He's gonna be.
Have you seen help up my man?
Yeah, I was gonna say, I don't know how to min-max,
so I sacrificed survival and a bunch of other shit
to be abnormally strong.
Yeah, there we go.
My athletics, if you're looking for your beat, DC,
is a plus eight.
Jesus.
I think it's eight.
Hell yeah, I'm not sure if this is different in 2024,
but I think we're gonna, so I'm just gonna use the rules
as I know them from 2014.
This is simply an opposed athletics check.
Okay.
So this crow keeper, this crow keeper is going
to roll, his strength is not that great.
Go ahead and roll your athletics.
Strong!
Be strong.
Strong boy.
That is a dirty 20.
Nice.
12 plus 8.
This guy got a 16 on the die
for a 16.
And Kattegan, describe what happens to this dude
as you grab his plate.
Straight by the plate, fuck.
I mean, a few words.
a few words, I'm gonna pitch him up and over my shoulder
over the waist-hide parapet off the side of the castle.
He goes,
huh, no, or over the side.
As he goes over the side, go ahead and roll.
That's 30 feet, give me 3D6 damage.
Okay.
Let's go.
Two, three.
Ha!
Six, six, six, three.
Six, six, six.
Fifteen damage.
That is our first of
this battle, Cadigan, how do you want to do this?
Oh!
Yeah, this poor dude, he got a really bad surprise.
That was a brutal shit he just took.
Yeah, he just got yointed and he kind of just goes ass over tea cattle,
so you think like, oh, this guy's got a chance if he lands on his back in the mud,
but unfortunately he lands on the side of his neck with the full weight of his plate mail,
and it's just snapping quick, like a responsible.
Hunter. Yeah.
Boom.
Kattigan, movement and bonus for you.
Oh, fuck.
Did it seem as if the grab and y'all alerted anyone?
Yes, you see the people down. I think you guys are made.
Full, like, as you guys are down there, his, he called up here, the struggle.
Taylor might still be unnoticed, but everybody down in the courtyard is alerted.
Great, right.
I have line of sight on Robby?
I believe so, yeah.
Okay, yeah, yeah.
I'm actually leaping and cooking my way along the perimeter.
I'll use whatever maximum movement I can have
to work my way toward Teor.
I want to try and jump that gap and get over to my boy.
Hell yes. What's your strength?
Plus eight, so.
Or your last one's eight.
Yeah, no words, no role necessary.
You turn, don't even fuck with going through the tower.
You just leap through the air over this moldering castle.
Bam, land right here using 10 feet of movement.
You have the rest of your movement left.
Yeah, I'll just spend it trying to make my way to Teor.
Because I know being alone in this situation is bad, bad.
Cool. All right. That's your movement. Boom.
So it said, Shub. The target must succeed on a strength or dexterity saving throw.
It succeeds in any way. You push it either five feet or have the prone condition.
The DC is eight plus your strength mod plus your proficiency.
Cool. So I guess they changed it from a rolled contest to a flat, like saving throw.
But you got it anyway.
But I like a contest. I like a contest.
Yeah, I like a contest. My bonus action is all tied to my previous combat, so I'm done.
Hell yeah, great.
That is Cadigan's turn, moving down an initiative.
Cadigan, as you say that, our knight is going to take his readied action.
Although, no, his ready action was, what Cadizma said,
is if I don't come out of there.
That's right. That's right. That's right.
So in that case, he does not use his readied action,
but he keeps his sword leveled at Wick.
Wick, it is your turn.
So you are prone.
Sword is there underneath you.
or the guy doesn't have a sword pressing into your back,
but you've got this guy on your head and you're prone.
And it's just the one guy on me, or?
This guy has slightly removed his sword.
Okay, but there's two dudes.
Because you're friends,
and then the rogue is the one smushing your head into the room.
Rogue is one smushing your head into the round.
And the rogue's got the cloak in the back,
and the guy with a bladed his neck is standing up, right?
Knight, crowkeeper, knight, man-at-arms.
Got to go.
Do I have the ability to cast a spell in this position?
Yes, you do.
All right, I will, I will do that.
I will quote verse to him and doctrine, sixth book, verse 23,
raise no hand in anger, let the beam recoil.
I will look up at him and the tattoos on the side of my face flash with a bright light,
so bright in fact that it will cast a color spray at him.
I'm gonna try to blind him.
Hell yes.
What is the saving throw associated with college?
It is a con 15.
Actually, you know what?
Before I do that, I'm going to bonus action
activate my innate sorcery.
Okay.
Which makes it a con 16 to say.
Because it's very rare for an ability
to actually do this, he got exactly 15,
which means that that goes from a save
to a failure on his part.
With that, that's a best part.
It's literally, it's rare for a plus one to be the difference.
He knows his sheet.
He knows his sheet, baby.
Okay, so you, as you turn around, what do you say to this guy as you call out to him?
Or what does it look like, yeah.
Oh, first my, the tattoos on the side of my face and neck light up,
and that light sort of spreads across the skin of my face to my eyes,
and my eyes sort of shine out a colorful beam of light straight into his face.
Hell yeah.
Blinding.
Sort of recoils, stumbling back into the mud,
blinded.
That is your, I think on you initiating an attack,
that is gonna trigger the right-ed action from that
who's going to take a swing at you.
Go for it.
That does not hit.
So you roll out of the way as this knight's sword
sitting into the mud right where you were standing.
That is his reaction, but you have the rest of your turn.
So you've used an action, you have your mind.
movement left? I will use half my movement to stand.
Hell yeah. And seeing as how he already struck at me, I will flee.
Hell yes. So he still gets a reaction, doesn't he? I don't care.
He does not. He's used his reaction with the ready move. Great, great. I will flee
towards where I see Cat again. Hell yeah. Using 15 feet of movement, you get partway up
this rant to get a little bit of higher ground here as you begin to flee. Um, uh, that
That is great.
That is Wicks turn Thimble.
That is your turn.
Okay, I'm gonna fly down to Casimir.
And I'm gonna fly and land directly
in front of his eyes.
You would have had your back
until the end of time.
You shouldn't have betrayed.
I'm gonna take out my rapier and stick it in his eye.
Oh!
Go ahead, this will be, because I believe he's incapacitated right now,
you will be making this attack with advantage.
Woo!
Okay.
That is...
21.
Twenty-one is a hit.
Okay.
Oh, okay.
Uh, 21 is a hit. Go ahead.
And because you're attacking with advantage,
you will be rolling sneak attack on this as well.
Oh, that's right.
Great, okay.
Road shit.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
Okay.
Sorry, I'm sorry, I'm freaking out.
This is your first road you think.
Yeah.
Whoa.
Uh, 16 points of damage on that first hit.
No, wait, 16 plus five, so 21 points.
Yeah, let's go.
Looking at you, even paralyzed his face in horror.
You see just a, the flush of his skin
contains this boiling rage underneath.
And paralyzed as he is, he is speechless,
but you do hear the whine of an attempt
to scream with vocal cords that will not move.
as your sword bursts in gore and viscera
as you eliminate one of his eyes.
That is your first attack, take your second attack.
My second attack with the toy sword.
Hell yeah. I'm gonna go to his throat
slit across his throat.
Hell yeah, go ahead, give me your attack roll.
And that's still at advantage.
That is correct.
Okay, that's 19 plus eight.
That is a hit.
Go ahead and roll damage.
That is not a sneak attack, though, since I already got it.
You used yours for the round, yeah.
Okay, so that is another 10 points of slashing.
Woo, thimble, uh, uh,
wait, what is this, plus 2D6?
Oh, the plus two.
Force damage, plus 2d6, force damage.
Only two incorporeal foes though.
Got it, I understand.
Cool.
You reached out and, um, open a seam in his neck
that blood begins to gush out of.
Um, you see he, uh, he is, you have injured him, but Casimir, you remember, I mean, much like a lot of you guys, Casimir's seen war before.
So you see he's here as you start to go to your grim butcher's work of exacting your vengeance in this moment.
Um, incredible turn from Fimble. Um, uh, that is going to be, uh, the knights down.
I'm going to fly up. Hell yeah.
And just in case he gets up, fly up to the ceiling.
up and out of his range.
Any bonus action from you?
That second attack was the bonus action.
Oh! But I can move.
So the way Nick works is you actually can combine both of those attacks.
I did the rapier first because I didn't know I got advantage on the first one, so.
All good. So you, zoom, fly back up the steps.
Plus I wanted the slash to be the second one.
I love that.
I love that.
I want to see me as I stabbed him in his face.
What you knew last thing he ever sees.
You see this knight here calling out, says,
attend to his lordship, sword shield.
He is going to march up after Wick here,
and he's going to take some swings on Wick.
Here we go.
Cadigan.
How?
How do you like that again?
Okay.
Wow, that is a miss.
Is a 14 a hit on Wicander?
Reaction. Shield.
Slashing out with his longsword.
Cing!
Again, angelic wings of white momentarily defend you.
defend you. That is shield cast. This other night throws the door wide open to see.
Do I have a react? Do I have time to react to that? Okay.
Throws the door open, sees a bleeding and eyeless Kazimir prostrate on the ground,
sees one opponent and does not take time to figure out what happened. He charges in and is
going to attack tyranny. I'm sorry.
Does a 22 hit?
Yeah.
And does a 13 hit?
No.
13, you're what's your?
Well, I have major armor at 15.
15, yeah.
Nice.
He lashes out for 4-7.
10 points of damage to you, Tyranny.
He goes,
I did have five-temp HP from WIC.
blessing me, but also somebody died.
So does that make it just the eight now?
Oh, somebody died.
Oh, the rogue.
The rogue died, but he was not marked as the target of your.
Oh, wait, you gave us five.
Why is it on here anymore?
Did we lose it somehow?
The way temp.
The way temp HP works is you can only have temp HP
from a certain source at a time.
So the five is more than the three.
That's what you would want to have.
No, it's eight.
What's eight?
The temp HP from my,
a Pact of the Blade.
Does that happen when any...
Dark one's blessing. When anybody,
when someone else reduces an enemy...
Oh, within 10 Pete.
Within 10 feet. Okay, so we'll keep the five.
Keep the five. So you take five points of damage
into your regular hit points.
Incredible.
How much? Ten. Ten.
Oh! Okay.
That...
And then that is going to be Casimir.
Withhold person. I believe he gets another
saving throw. The end of his turn, he's going to get another save. Once again, it needs a 15 or higher.
It's a two.
You're rolling like doo-doo today, buddy.
Hold on. You're going to say. You just called you like I see you said.
Teor Pride side. That is your turn. Oh, boy.
Brennan, why are you so fast? God, yeah, let's poke the G. I just grab the whole bucket of minis and dunk them on the record.
You don't need rolls when you control how many people.
from everywhere.
You know?
We've learned nothing.
I'm gonna, we're gonna go bigger, go home.
I'm gonna run towards the edge
and I'm gonna leap off and try and come down
on top of this rogue with the flail.
Okay, are you gonna come on top of the rogue?
Yeah, hell yeah.
Okay, so go ahead and give me athletics.
Okay, I'll say a DC 10 reduces the falling damage
by 10 feet and a DC 20 reduces it by 20 feet.
Got it, okay.
Wow.
That was, it was death.
Not one.
Up and over to get that one.
Okay, so you're gonna take full falling damage.
You take 10 points of falling damage.
Oh, got it, got it.
But you are going to, I will allow you to basically add
another like D6 of falling damage and you roll with advantage
coming down on top of this road.
This is the stick of the cat that never lands on a street.
I know.
Not in the rain.
I'm not a fan of the rain.
I'm not a tiger, I'm a fucking lion.
Oh, Jesus, nine plus.
Yeah, you're rolling with advantage here.
Yes, that is a 15 to hit.
A 15 to hit.
Hell yes, 15, sorry.
So on that 15, I think in this moment you see,
that the flail comes down, kind,
against that brand new full plate armor.
It does not connect, full plate is an easy of 18.
So, whom, connect, any bonus action from you?
Yes, with my bonus action, I'm gonna take,
I'm gonna just, I'm gonna stay in his melee,
but I'm gonna shift to my right
and put myself between myself and,
between WIC and this rogue, because I have to protect you.
Yes, you do.
And with my, with my daunting roar,
You'll see me sort of crouched down
and I will unleash this huge roar
and anyone within 10 feet will have to make a wisdom saving throw
become frightened until the end of my neck, sorry.
Anyone within 10 feet.
And you're getting up between WIC here?
Yes.
Okay, cool.
So it would hit the Knight and the Rogue.
And me.
Anyone that I choose.
Oh, cow.
What is the DC on me?
I choose to be friends.
It's a 14.
14, okay.
14 wisdom.
The rogue is horrified at the sound of this mighty roar.
This knight to your left sees you join the fray
and you see as you roar just gets up his shield in front
and leans into your chest hard,
ready to do battle with you as well.
That is Teor's turn.
That is going to be our crowkeepers.
This one is still blinded, I believe.
And looking around for
These footmen out here, great, okay.
So, we are going to move out in that.
Oh, I remember where the other one is.
He got thrown off the castle.
Sorry, we're my buddies.
This guy is going to, yeah, okay.
He's going to take a swing with disadvantage, blinded by the spell.
Does a 12 hit Teoran?
It does not.
Takes a swing wildly blinded by the light.
Cannot see.
The footmen are going to engage.
This one's going to run up here.
This guy's going to go.
5, 10, 15, 20, 20, 30.
Seeing you guys close there,
he is going to rush in and save his lord.
Lord. You see he closes in standing over Casimir's body with this pole arm, but uses his
movement basically to get in here, or uses his action to dash. That is going to give back to
tyranny, top of the order. It's you. Okay. Does he, does Casimir lose his paralysis after this
turn? No, I believe, I believe. Oh, I am going to meet a concentration. Oh, that's right.
Saving throw from you because of the damage. You took
Only five points of damage, so it's just a difficulty.
10 constitution stated.
I took 10, didn't I?
You only took five points of actual hit points damage.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nice.
And I think it would be the same.
Eight?
Oh, balls.
So unfortunately, that means when you got hit by the night,
which unfortunately means that Casimir would have gotten his turn.
Oh, shit.
Yes, we will send him.
Oh, it was just Teor and the crowkeepers
that have taken their turn. So,
Kazimir, on his turn,
is going to use
half his movement to stand,
which he does.
And
he uses half.
You did that to me.
I knew that he was going to happen.
That's so the whole thing.
Let me just scoot her.
Okay.
He's going to use half his movement to stand.
Awesome.
I think I could fix this.
Oh, oh God.
Tyranny, what's your armor class?
15.
Oh, no.
He is going to land.
His pants are down.
His pants are down.
He's going to land three.
And he's exhausted.
from?
You said in the last game that he was exhausted
because he hadn't taken rest for a few days.
I did say that, that's true.
That is true.
So he's going to lash out at you, Tyroney,
and he's going to deal,
he deals 7.13.
He deals 17 points of damage to you.
And three poison damage.
In addition to the 17th?
In addition to the 17th.
The 20 total?
Wait, wait.
You're resistant.
Oh, I'm resistant to poison.
Still one more point.
Okay, so 18.
18.
As he turns around and says,
well,
talk to finger.
And slashes across his throat as one hand.
Did he fall with disadvantage?
Because he only has one eyeball.
It's true.
Because you have no mechanical ability
to create a one eyeballed person,
We are going to not punish him
to the sick flavor of your turn.
Never use poetry against me again.
Lawyer versus lawyer.
So you see that he slashes out,
you'd slashing across your neck
and sort of across your collarbone
and is then going to
bonus action,
disengage, use his object interaction
to hike his pants up
and go,
Fimble!
He says,
We need to talk, sister!
And he's going to dart up.
Let's get it.
And you see the knight next to him goes like,
my lord!
As he goes after Thimble.
Did you, and you flew up there,
so no hide check from you.
He sees you up in that room.
Which, actually.
Oh, what's back there?
The egg.
These extra uppers.
Oh, yeah.
So we're just gonna keep this off to one side here
to effectively be.
That's awesome.
Oh, yeah.
So cool.
So Casimir and Thimble are both right here.
Okay, okay.
You're okay.
Yeah.
As you fly up and Kaz, so as he rushes up,
you see he goes,
Hey, then, Little Thimble,
do you come here to get your revenge?
Maybe I'll get mine.
Maybe I'll get mine for every again.
for everything.
You and he did to me!
And he leans forward and is going to try to engage you in combat.
In any case, so that's Casimir's turn.
Tyranny, you are still up miraculously,
but you are facing a night in closed quarters combat
with a footman right behind him.
What are you going to do?
I might take all this egg.
Okay.
I might take all this egg.
What is this egg?
What is this egg?
Egg do? We don't know. Is it the rainbow mystery egg? I have the mystery egg.
I have the mystery egg. Pull? I mean...
It's your thing. All right.
All right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it could just instantly kill me.
It could be a disco ball. We have no idea.
There's only one way to find out. Yeah, I'm going to take the egg out and I'm going to smash it on the ground.
Okay, we're going to smash it. Does it say what type of action that uses?
Albin would do us roll away.
No, the egg? The egg?
The egg, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Is it in, did you put it in her?
Did you put it in here?
I believe it's in Teor's inventory,
because we said that he had them all in his armpits,
but I gave it to them before we.
Gotcha, cool, cool, cool.
So it takes a magic action to throw the egg.
So that will beat your action on your turn.
Okay. Cool.
You throw the egg, please roll a D-100.
Oh my God, is it just wild magic?
Everything's gonna be fine.
Oh my God.
It's cool, egg.
It's gonna turn you into a sheep.
30.
No, you gotta roll two of them.
Oh, two of them?
30.
33.
33.
Three.
Okay.
I've done that before.
You throw the egg.
This is the greater Chanter's egg?
Yes, the Greater Chanter's egg.
Just need to happen.
Within 30 feet of yourself.
So, Tyranny, you take a beautiful
A beautiful little rainbow, it feels so heavy
and pleasant to the touch.
As you throw it down, it cracks apart,
revealing it was totally hollow the entire time,
except not super hollow,
because there's something wriggling in there.
Ooh, it's bigger than the egg,
and a massive squid explodes into being.
Oh, it's so on brand.
It's perfect.
You summon Aldridge horror.
Oh, no.
You see that the night in front of you goes,
Doctor!
The squid is here in the room.
Fantastic.
That's your action, any bonus action or movement?
I would like, if I try to run past them, they get to attack me, right?
Yes, they do.
Oh, fuck, okay.
I...
Does she know what this creature is or can do after throwing the egg, or not yet?
No, not yet.
No, you don't know shit about this squid explodes into being.
I assume he's mine because I birthed him.
It has that window, is that, could that fit a little tiny demon?
You can give me acrobatics to try and get through.
Okay, will that give them a reaction?
Yes, they will have a reaction on you attempting to escape in this moment.
Can I ask a question what our rules are in this campaign on healing potions?
Is it bonus action?
Is it at-will? I don't think we've talked about.
I think we're going rules as written,
and I believe the rules is written actually in 2024
are that they are, that drinking a potion is a bonus action.
I know there was a change in it in 2024.
I'm just curious.
I will consult the buck.
Bonus action.
Bonus action.
Bonus action.
So if we have that as a possibility, okay.
Yeah.
FML.
So you have used your action, bonus action, and movement.
What would you like to do?
I don't want to die.
If you think it's too risky to give me a tax of opportunity,
you can stay put.
In other words, just because you have actions to use
doesn't mean that you are required to.
But that I'm gonna be in a room with this octopus,
with squid, sorry.
Yeah, he might be nice.
All right, I would like to, I would like to
back slowly
against one of the tendrils of the octopus
and just kind of pat his arm
and be like, fear me!
Give me a dexterity saving throw.
Yep.
Seven.
You fall through an illusory octopus.
You go, fear me!
And just eat it on the ground.
However, you are now completely,
you have total.
concealment as you are inside the mirage of an octopus.
It just sucked you in.
Dr. Finger!
You see, the footman goes,
My lord, the squid's eaten.
The squid has eaten Dr. Joseph.
This tonally is not what this is about.
Do you understand?
This is insanity.
This is insanity.
This is insanity.
What's happening every thing.
everywhere else
I think up above
in this climactic encounter
between Casimir and Thimble
that both of you watch a squid's head
clipped through the floor
like fucking video game
just a weird purple wet
sort of knob
rumming through the floor
okay so
we'll do with this later
so I will say this
you actually do move
behind the squid
and because you were concealed by it
they do not get attacks
opportunity on you. Great.
Incredible.
As this thing leaps into being.
Okay.
Wow.
It's amazing.
Dr. Fingis.
You never know what you're gonna get.
Cattigan.
You could find it would turn this into a hentai summer.
Yeah.
I knew.
And then you would.
Cattigan, that is your turn, man.
Oh yeah.
Cattigan just goes.
I wonder how things are going in there.
I'm just kidding.
Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and unsheathed my weapon
my weapon and I want to throw a bolt, just a regular old wooden bolt at, it's hard to
see. How many foes are down there, two, three? Let's go ahead. I can remove some of these
crinolations here too to help you. No, it's right. Cool. How many baddies are down
there? You have one footman, one crow keeper blinded, and one night. All of them, all of them
uninjured. But they're kind of like bunched up, right? Because they're all engaging. All right,
I'm going to aim for the middle guy.
Okay, cool. Yeah, so I'm going to knock and add a lateral bolt and from my elevated position, just huck that down at the guy in the middle.
Roll with advantage.
Okay. Pretty good, but 17 plus 6.
23, that's a hit.
Okay, great. So I'm going to wing that at him. That's 1D8 to 5, but this seems important.
I'm going to use Savage Attacker to re-roll my...
Yes. Also, are you doing any bonus? I know some of your bonus actions help damage happen in an attack.
Yeah, so I've got one queued up, I just want to...
Oh, in the attack, no.
I'm not going to use Hunter's mark
because I'm going to use my other one.
I rolled a five both times.
Five plus floor is nine on that damage.
And when it sticks into the guy in the middle,
you kind of see that that bolt was hand-hued out of a piece of bramble.
So there's little knocks from pieces.
So for my bonus action, I'm going to cast Hale of Thorns.
Yeah.
Which you know.
Yeah.
So then in addition to that damage,
everybody within five feet has to make a deck save
or takes a D10.
Hell yeah.
Okay, so you are doing the guy that is going to hit
everybody, including your allies.
Ooh, is it within five feet?
Within five feet.
Oh, no.
Now, this guy would hit only the other crow keeper
and spare all your allies here.
And you can use the same attack roll
and same damage if you'd like.
Yeah, I don't want to hurt my homies,
but I feel like that's,
change the, yeah, I didn't know that they were in danger of that.
Yeah, you got Wic, Teor, within five feet.
The only person you can hit and do a five-foot spread from him
is this guy here who would catch the rogue and not Teore.
Okay, I'll still use it, and I'm going to damage that one other guy.
Cool, cool, cool.
So the first attack roll was nine,
and then the second one was a D-10 if they fail.
Okay, so he's going to make a,
so you do nine damage to that footman.
And then Hale of Thorns means him and people
within five feet of him have to make a deck save?
As you hit a, as you hit a creature,
the spell creates a reign of thorns that's browsed.
The target of the attack and each creature within five feet,
make a deck save.
The footmen fail, they both fail their deck save.
You see that the rogue is blinded by the collar spray.
So go ahead and roll damage for both of them.
Ah, is that a nine or six?
That's nine.
Nine damage, hell, yes.
Piercing.
Done, deal.
With the actual hit of the bolt,
the footman running up with the spear.
He has a spear lowered at Teor there.
The bolt through the throat and explodes into brambles
and just rips his head partially off of his neck, dead,
and nine damage.
That crowkeeper stumbling, blinded in armor is bloodied.
Looking about as bad as could be.
You, that is your, that's your action and bonus action.
Hell, yes.
So this last, yeah, the last crow keeper out there
is badly, badly hurt.
That, Katagan, that is your turn.
Any movement on your turn?
Yeah, I'm just gonna actually stay elevated, I think,
since we've got a big bruiser down there,
and I'm just gonna sort of make a triangle,
so I've got a better angle at the other guys.
Okay, you gonna get over here?
Yeah, equidistance just to,
at the other point in the triangle.
Right there, perfect.
Cool, great.
Yeah, sweet.
That's it for me.
So you launch a bolt down,
one of the footman falls,
that crow keeper in the full plate armor
is stumbling as thorns fly into his face
and Wick, that is gonna be your turn.
Oh, me.
Oh, all right, yes, of course.
Having seen this lion man land right in front of me
to save the day, I'm lit by the light of my face.
I just look up at him and say,
You're right, only Teor is Teo.
And I think I heard my aspirant call out in pain
and then get eaten by a squid.
So I will go to Dr. Finger's aid
and I will run across the room towards the door.
Great. You have an opponent here who is in combat with you,
in combat with you and can see.
I will start by Misty Stepping.
Whoa, shit!
You can Misty Stepping?
Okay.
Cool.
Okay, boom, you teleport 30 feet away
and can enter this other room with your movement.
As you enter it, there's a giant squid in here.
Ah!
Yeah.
Tyranny, are you in there?
Be not afraid.
I am, I am this squid.
I am, who I am.
I am he who is cold, I am.
Do you not recognize a god?
Do I have a bead on her or not really?
Yeah. Do you have a bead on this?
On her.
On her. You hear her voice from the other side of this squid.
Are the knights scared of the squid?
The knights are fucking terrified.
I have no idea what's going on.
Let me see what the spell says.
I mean, it looks and sounds, right around.
Yeah.
You should that you touch.
Shit.
I have to touch her.
Never mind.
I can't see her, so I can't heal her.
So in that case, there's how many bad guys around me?
There's a footman right in front of you
and a knight on the other side of it.
I just cast a spell, so I can't cast any other spells.
Unless it's a, can I cast a cantrip?
You can cast a cantrip.
Yes, cantrip is absolutely you.
Okay, and I can't really see over there.
Am I standing between them by any chance?
No, the footman is in between you and the night.
Is there a way to position myself
so I'm within five feet of both of them or no?
Let me see, yes, there is.
Okay.
Then I will use a cantrip, word of radiance.
Hell yeah.
Bow to the light, and light will emanate from me
and sort of scorch both of them if it hits.
Let's see, word of radiance, Constitution 14 save.
They're going to roll, and you will do 1D6 radiant damage
if they fail.
This is a wisdom.
Constitution 14.
They both fail.
So go ahead and roll 1D6 damage.
Do I roll once for each or just?
One time, and they will both take that damage.
They both take five damage.
Hell yes.
And then I immediately apologize for hurting them.
Incredible, the footman looks hurt by that.
The night looks not very bothered at all by that.
As the radiance goes out, Wic, that is your turn.
Thimble, that is you.
I feel like I'm gonna throw up.
This is so exciting.
I look at him.
Fiasi never did anything to you.
You were a brother.
Your greed is what brought you to this.
And I'm gonna,
I'm attacking with my rapier.
Go for it.
This is not an advantage anymore.
No.
Oh, what is that?
That's not anything.
Okay.
13 plus, 13 plus seven.
That is a hit.
Okay.
For a dirty 20, and there's no sneak attack here
because you're just attacking.
Right, right, right.
But, okay, so that's six damage.
Okay.
However, because of my weapon mastery,
my next attack gets advantage.
Okay, awesome.
So I'm gonna take attack with the
Cimitar now.
Okay, awesome.
So leaping out with your pin, so you deal seven points
of damage to him?
Yes.
Hell yeah, seven points of damage, awesome.
You lash out, as you slice, go ahead
and make your next attack with advantage.
Okay, 18 plus 8, 26.
Damn, that is a hit, and this will add sneak attack.
Okay.
Okay, 11 plus 6.
17 points.
17, and you've added your decks, right?
Added my decks, I added the extra six, yes.
Yes, great.
Unbelievable, you do 17 points of damage.
In this one round, you move Casimir well
into the bloodied condition.
As he goes,
pin, and then at the throat again.
You've cut both sides of his throat,
sleek blood, a red,
red streak runs down the breastplate of his brand new armor as he is rapidly losing blood, stumbling after you.
I'm going to whisper in his ear, catch me if you can, you little bitch.
And I'm going to fly out the window.
You see that he, boom, you are out the window flying over the air.
That's so fucking cool.
That's so nice.
That's so nice.
That's fancy footwork, so we can't get an attack of opportunity.
I know. You're a swashbuckler rogue, so there is.
no attack of opportunity.
Oh, no, anyone ever hit you.
Oh, wow, like this is.
Well, no, we see this is the, yes, this is.
I got him.
That bar fight.
Okay, that is Thimble.
Our, it is now our night's turn.
This night is going to turn to face Teor down below.
I cannot roll for shit tonight.
There's two misses.
You suck at the end.
You suck to.
And now I'm going to roll against you with a knight.
What is your armor class, Wick?
12.
Oh.
That is a hit and a crit.
Oh.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
I accept.
We will roll.
We will roll.
You will roll the hit first.
I want to come back. I feel like the second she left.
Yeah, she doesn't really care about me. It's okay.
She's having your own.
13 plus 3 for 16 points of damage to Wick.
Yikes!
Are you still up?
I'm still up.
How many hit points do you have?
Only nine.
Like, I'm going to tell you right now
that there is a, it is very statistically unlikely.
It is statistically unlikely, but it is possible that enough damage will be dealt to you
in this one blow to kill you.
I can't shield against this, can I?
A shield. You can shield if you'd like.
Is this a time for you?
I don't have to announce what I rolled on the dice,
but you can't.
Is this a desperate member?
And that has to wait to your turn.
Yeah.
That's not my turn.
But is he swinging again or just the next time somebody swings on him?
This is the next.
This is the very, he's still his turn.
This night got two attacks, was a hit and a crit.
Oh, on who?
I'm gonna just see some.
Weick.
Weick down to nine.
I want to save that spell to heal.
Shit.
Yourself?
Uh...
I'll have room.
Let's see what we'll see.
I'll take it.
What could happen?
No.
To heal yourself?
I can't heal myself.
It's not my turn.
You can't shield.
I can try to shield.
Shield.
Okay.
You should shift.
One was a hit.
It might not even work.
He might have gotten above a 17 to hit.
I have no idea.
He didn't tell you what he got.
He didn't tell me what he did.
Oh, God.
Should I shield myself just in case?
Yes.
All right, I will shield just in case that works.
You shield and it does not work.
Burn my fucking spell.
Because of Laura.
Oh, come on.
No, it's, you're right.
It's the more prudent path.
So, 29 points of damage.
points of damage is what it will take to kill you.
Fully in one hand.
I'm gonna roll some D6s.
How many?
Hmm?
Sorry, what?
You could just die?
You could just die now.
Yeah, yeah, if he, what is it?
Because if it's your total under, right?
Yeah.
Barf.
He has the protection of the life.
It's doing that.
Wick, are the words of that night ringing in your mind at all right now?
Sorry, are the words of Casimir Gavendale ringing in your mind at all right now?
Of course they are.
He somehow, in his dumb state, cut right through to the bone.
He knew exactly who I was.
If you die here,
Is it fair to say you will have died
without any member of your family,
knowing that you were here having your back?
For sure.
You take 27 points of damage,
two points away from instant death.
That's why you laughed.
As he turns around, you see that he turns around,
You see that he looks at this massive squid,
goes, ha!
Moves through it, sees that it's illusory,
rams you through, unthinkingly through the chest,
twists to make sure you drop, grabs your head
as you're going unconscious and throws you to the ground,
to begin thundering up the steps through the illusory tentacles
to join Kazimir on the second story.
Well, nobody's in there, but Casimir.
Yeah, I might actually.
Wick, you drop.
to the ground, two damage away.
Oh, God.
Very close.
It's okay, I'm a doctor.
Is there a doctor?
Is there a doctor in that?
Can you, remember when you guys
were gonna charge the castle with everybody in there?
Remember that time when Britta became the GM
and killed almost two characters in the first 10 episodes?
No, no worries.
I got that.
Now we're gonna roll for Teor.
both for Teor.
What?
What?
What?
Oh, no, no.
I missed twice.
I rolled the dog shit.
That's right.
Sorry.
Got a little bloodthirsty.
I got one rogue that's frightened to me,
but the knight is not.
Okay.
And one was blind.
Which one's blind?
Oh, is the blind guy dead?
Hmm?
I think the blind guy.
No, blind guy's badly injured.
Okay.
Casimir is going to thunder up the steps as fast as he can.
Thunder.
Thunder.
Thunder.
Thunder.
Thunder cats.
What you got there?
Is it out?
The top?
The tap?
He is going to thunder up the steps as fast as he can.
And turn into an eagle.
Oh, cool.
Damn, those are cool.
Yeah.
Thundering at the steps as fast as he can.
Blood clanking in this armor.
He rushes to the side, pulls out.
a heavy crossbow and says,
Ty, you're it for twang!
And is going to shoot a crossbow at you twice.
Brendan, are you mad at us?
We were making fun of his dice rolls.
I was not. That was you.
Oh, yeah.
Is there a mouse in your pocket?
Okay.
Does that have, no, there's no way.
He has to use his cunning action.
So he's not going to be able to attack from advantage,
which means no sneak attack.
Okay.
But he is going to take two attacks on this.
does a 15 hit, 15 does not hit.
He misses one, hits with the other attack at a 24
and is going to deal seven points of damage to you
with a crossbow.
You can tell that that would have been a lot nastier
if you had not taken a, basically,
if you got an advantage on that of any kind,
Bcci, wha, fom, fires a bolt
that just skates past you at a glancing blow.
That's a big wound as a glancing blow
but Crosbable.
Yeah, it's just the tip of an arrow as you're alighting,
you're dodging rain drops in the dismal air.
And as you do so, I'm actually gonna move back,
I think, to, and this battle's mostly happening outside now.
You see, boom, yeah, the arrow that passes through you
is about twice as tall as you are.
So it's almost like a bolista bolt for you,
just, whom, rocketing past.
Tayor, that is you, my man.
Good gravy.
Slow motion.
Yes, can I...
That guy's still fretting...
And the rogue didn't...
Did he take... this guy take any action on his?
Because he's before me, I think.
Yes, he's swung and missed.
Swung and missed. Or he's right after you.
Oh, he's right after me?
Yeah. Got it, got it, got it.
I am going to...
Yes, I'm going to send a guiding bolt
towards the night that is right up on me.
But actually, I'll do it.
No, if I move away...
it'll trigger a reaction.
So I'll just, I'll send guiding bolt at the night.
Hell, yeah, they can tackle.
Amazing, 24 to hit.
24 is a hit, my friend.
Go ahead and roll damage.
4D, 6, 5, 9, and now 14.
14 points of damage.
Hell, yes.
And the next attack on him has advantage.
Has advantage, hell yeah.
So you see this, this, this nice.
knight sort of, you see, he's pushing into you with the shield.
You guys, you can immediately tell these knights are seasoned warriors.
This guy's armor is rusted.
He is the knight of a poor barony, but he is old enough to have either seen
combat in the Falcons Rebellion or maybe even the War of Axon Vine.
Your flail, he just gets his shield right up under your arm.
So like, he's just driving back with you to not give you the extension,
but he doesn't know that you're a spellcaster and you get a paw right up under
his armor, and boom, the entire courtyard fills with light as he takes 14 points of damage.
You look at him and see a, as he has suffered spell injury before and is not afraid.
He is going to continue to push into you.
Bonus action or movement?
Yeah, with my bonus action, I'm going to use shield of faith on myself to give myself a plus two bonus days.
I believe that's two leveled spells in the same route.
Is it?
Oh, you know what?
You might be right.
It does say bonus action, but you think you.
You're right. Yes. Okay. Then I will, that'll be my turn knowing I can't make it to Wick in my speed.
Hell yeah. You stay closed with this night, taking him off the board for any of your other allies.
That is going to be the crowkeeper next to you who rolls with disadvantage and misses wildly just swinging there in the muck and the rain.
our last footman is going to, I think, charge up to rejoin the night
chasing after the injured Kazimir Davindale.
And that is going to go back to the top of the order with tyranny,
who is now in a room with a fake squid and a dying Wicander Halo farm.
Okay, I am going to grab Wick and drag him
inside the squid.
Okay.
On your turn you see the squid begins to
just swiping at nobody.
Okay, I'm gonna, I'm just gonna grab him
by his fucking cloak.
I'm gonna say if you die right now,
if you die right now, I'm gonna fucking kill myself.
Oh, Jesus.
Back to the pit.
Back to the pit.
So you better not.
Would you consider this either a medicine check to stabilize
or are you giving the help action
on his next death saving throw?
Medicine action, what's that?
I don't have anything that heals.
So I'm just trying to help him.
You're a doctor.
You can wrap the wound.
I can give you the finger.
You can give him advantage on his next death
Okay, I would like to help him.
As you, yeah, you need, bringing him in,
you know, begging him in this moment,
I think Wickhander, you can hear the faint voice
distantly of someone speaking to you.
You will roll your next death save with advantage.
Cadigan, that is your turn.
What do we have left down there?
Blind Crowkeeper.
This night just took a powerful guiding bolt
and is looking still very much up
on his feet. You know that there is chaos happening in the tower, and you hear the trapdoor
fly open and hear Kazimir's voice on the far tower. Oh, man. I can't leave, I can't
leave Taylor. Not 2V1. Yeah. I'm going to just keep my elevated position and wing another one
at the blinded, the blinded rogue, or what is that? Yeah, there's a blinded road there. Yeah.
The knight is the one that has guiding bolt on him for advantage. Yeah. Oh, that's so helpful. He has
advantage on him, and I'll say, too, that if you, like, getting, we are using flanking rules
for this campaign as well. So, Tayor being down there, right in there, Teor is being flanked,
which is tough. Yeah, it's advantage against me on from both of them. Yeah, okay. If you also
get down there and I get across, you can say. But, but that, and I've seen you do this
before, I know what this is. All right, cool. I'm going to use my bonus action for Hunter's
Mark. Cool. And then take an attack on this guy with the regular bill. Go for it.
Great, 14 plus.
Rolling with advantage.
Oh, yeah, okay.
That's dirty 20 on that one.
And then 16, 20, 20, 20 to two.
That is a hit.
Go ahead and roll, and this will be with Hunter's Mark.
Ah, but I already use Savage Attack.
All right, with Hunter's Mark.
So that is five plus four, nine,
and then another D6, because for fours.
11, total.
Boom!
Boom! A bull thuds into the guy's armor and goes,
assassins for the pride of smoke.
Whatever we're protected.
Who do I work for today?
And you see,
you see, bam, the bull hits him.
Not bloodied.
This guy's tough.
Yeah, he's tough.
That is Cadigan's turn. Any movement from you?
from you. Does the, because I'm new to this, does the force damage push him at all away from
Teor from that vantage point? Unless it says it does, then it does not. I don't know. Oh, it probably
doesn't then. No. Okay. All right, sweet. That's got to be it for me. Cool. You got it.
That is going to go and be Wick's turn. Wick. Give me a death saving throw with advantage.
A 19.
A 19, that is a death save success.
Additionally, we are going to add in some homebrew rules
for Campaign 4 of Critical Rule.
You guys have these sheets in front of you
which are desperate measures.
They come into effect you are bloodied, which you certainly are.
However, there's some stuff not on that sheet,
which I'm going to share, which has to do with
when you are dead or dying.
Number one, you have a single death save success.
You do not have a failure.
If you so choose, at the end of your,
you may, on a turn,
there are some moves that you can take while you're dying
to keep you sort of in the combat while you're dying
while stuff is happening.
You can choose to give a character in initiative with you
a dot of heroic inspiration,
which means that they can do a re-roll on their turn.
Or you may also, if you so choose,
if you have no death save failures,
you may choose to stabilize.
Okay.
So it's up to you.
You can either choose to stabilize right now
or you can throw some extra re-rolls
to some of your companions.
What does it mean to stabilize?
Stabilize means he will not be dying anymore.
He will just be incapacitated and unconscious.
So if I throw inspiration to somebody,
I will still keep rolling death.
saves. That's correct.
Oh boy. But someone gets a little inspiration.
That's very cool. That's pretty cool.
That's fun. And it can be to anyone in my party or just someone close by to me.
I think it's got to be someone within line of sight to you, I'll say.
So you can give it to tyranny, or you can...
Does anyone have any healing abilities?
I'm so bad.
Yeah, but you're like engaged.
Very far away too.
Tear, you got heels, right?
I have some heels, yeah.
Oh, he is.
Can I, would Categan be within line of sight?
No.
Teor might be through the door.
I think Teor through the door is.
I will give Teor inspiration.
You?
Or whatever that is.
Looking out and dying here as tyranny commands you.
to hold on to life.
You instead look out blood.
It is, you can literally feel your heartbeat in warmth.
Each time your heart beats,
the stain of blood in your clothes grows
as you push blood out of your body
through this open wound.
Your heart is literally killing you right now.
It's pushing the blood out of your body,
out of this wound, and look out and see Teor
locked in combat with an extremely worthy adversary.
and rather than concentrating your own magical will on yourself,
you concentrate on Teor and give him heroic inspiration.
You may re-roll, so you basically have a mark
that you can re-roll a D20 contest of any type,
and you get one of those.
That is your turn.
Does that make you fail a save or are that just?
No, just keep rolling.
It's just a thing you can do on your turn
so that when people are dead, they can still do some stuff.
That's really cool.
They're still doing some stuff.
Thimble.
Thimble.
That's your turn.
You are flying in the rain
high above the ground
overlooking the castle walls
with Kazimir and a heavy crossbow
staring you down.
He looks at you and says,
what did you do to me?
You talked me into this rebellion?
You took me into this life?
Where was the glorious dawn?
How long was I supposed to wait
to hear a falcons cry again?
If you don't actually know,
that a better day is coming.
It's wrong to tell people to wait.
You never did have patience.
I'm gonna fly in him and.
Go ahead and give me your attack.
What is that?
17?
17 is a hit.
Yes.
Ooh, boy.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Wait, what is that?
That's only three.
Three plus five is eight,
points of damage. Eight points of damage. That's your first attack.
With the rapier, next attack at advantage.
Okay. That's an 18. No, that's still 17.
17 is a hit. Okay, so then I get sneak attack on that one.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, 21 points of damage.
Good Lord.
With exactly 21 hit points.
Laura Bailey, how do you want to do this?
Oh!
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I've gotten both sides of his neck with slashes,
and I'm going to come through on the third flight through
and get the middle connecting the two
and cut him straight across the front of the neck
and look at him in front of the one good eye and say,
can you hear it now?
Oh, wow fucking yes.
Over several turns of combat, you slowly opened up this giant's neck,
a four inch tall warrior, certainly over this many rounds of combat
to deliver this finishing blow, you have taught Casimir Gavendale the meaning of patience.
As you pull his throat out, he collapses over the parapet.
A grim banner as his cloak unfurls, drapes over his head,
and soaks with his own life's blood,
the first and final pennant of the Baron of Slocke.
Killer turn.
Bad, that fucking ass.
And I must ask you in this moment if you have any bonus action or movement.
I do have movement still, so I will fly up.
And so I'm right here.
So I'm gonna fly up and make eye contact with Casimir
because he's the one that I can see up there.
Yeah.
You're looking, yeah, making this eye kind of with Cadigan across.
We got a lot of same names.
All I can see is Casimir.
So yeah, hanging in the air over here,
as you alight, you hear the thundering footsteps
of Casimir's men-at-arms who would have absolutely closed distance
with you on their turn.
So getting away from them,
hanging in the air over the battlefield,
you make eye contact with Cadigan,
Kazimir Gavendale.
And I hold up my tiny sword.
The toy sword glimmers in the dim light of the rain.
I can't see that.
It's so, holding up something.
I'll twist it.
What do you have?
Unbelievable.
Thimble, that is your turn.
These knights are gonna go.
This one's coming for Tayor.
Does that mean I get my attempt HP back?
No.
Not within 10 feet.
God damn it.
He ran up steps.
Although he died, would you get him from him dying?
No, he's not dead yet.
That's true.
Not dead yet.
I could die if that will help you.
That is my AC.
Cool.
This guy launches forward for 12 points of damage as he gets the bolt in the neck.
He looks up at you and says,
Why don't you come down and dance?
As he slashes out for the damage to you,
thundering into that side.
And within this next guy,
up to the roof, this night comes to see Kazimir.
And I think you turn, look around as he sees,
slumped over the battlement, cloak over his head.
You see he just walks over.
and it starts to perform a medicine check
to basically see if this is...
See if he's toast.
Yeah.
Teor, that's your turn.
Oh, boy. Oh, boy, oh, boy.
Okay.
I'm going to try something.
Probably stupid since we're in the middle of this fight.
I'm going to look at this big, big-ass beefy night
that's in front of me and seeing...
I wouldn't see Thimble fly up into the air, right?
Unless, like, that light is a...
Yeah.
I would have flared up brighter after that kill.
Yes.
I think you see with that victorious
like this glimmering toy sword in the air
that it appears that your work here in the castle
has, what you came here to do has been done.
Got it. I'll take the flail
and I think I'm in this fighting position
across from the night and I'll sort of rise up,
almost relaxed and I'll hold up the mace in front of him
and I will say, we have no quarrel with the king
however the crows must die
and I will swing underhanded
into the rogue next to me like not just ignoring the
night and just trying to uppercut this guy with the
hell yes go ahead and give me a tag with advantage
he's blinded uh yeah that's uh 19 to hit
go ahead and roll damage amazing
I have the inspiration but I don't need it at this moment
where the fuck is he eight where I mean there it is
seven
Amazing, plus two.
That's 11 points, and if he's still up,
it would drop him prone.
You see not a chance.
Boom, you catch this stumbling guy
who's been slashing at you wildly with this knife.
You catch him under the chin, and he leaves the ground
in full plate before he, boom, hits the deck
and is no more, which is the line.
last of the crowkeepers in initiative right now.
And with my bonus action, I would sort of just
like fwack all the blood off of the flail into the mud
and use my cape to clean it off.
And I would look up at him and say,
whatever they have on them, you may keep.
Give our regards to the king.
And I'll put Leon hands on myself for my bonus action.
I'll pump 15 bonus points in the whole smash.
You watch, you see, he watches a
an honorable warrior swiftly undo his work
of the past few seconds.
And just stand there.
I haven't taken a step away.
Yeah.
Incredible.
Tyranny, that is your turn.
I take away disguise self, so I'm back to tyranny.
And I look at Wick.
And I say, if you die.
I will kill an orphan.
I look at him and I say,
God, you really have really very pretty eyes.
And they're gonna make beautiful cocktail garnishes
for me if you fucking die.
And I would like to help him again.
Hell yeah, you give him advantage on the next death saving throw.
Amazing.
Cadigan, that is your turn.
Oh, man, you look and see this move from Teor here.
Like, I don't think from high up on the wall,
you can see whether it's going to work or not, right?
I think we'll roll a persuasion like on this night's turn.
It's up to you.
What action you want to take in this moment?
Ah!
I don't do well with insult.
I just dive off.
I just dive off of the parapet to try to land on top of this guy.
Hell yeah, dude.
First of all, give me acrobatics or athletics to make the jump.
Same thing DC-10 takes away 10 feet, DC 20 takes away 20.
Okay, I'll sheathes my weapon as right before I jump.
Athletics?
Uh-oh, bad call.
Well, athletics or acrobatics?
Either one.
Fucking coolest guy in the world.
What you call me?
8 plus 8, 16.
16, okay.
You take, oh my god, snake guys,
you take two points of damage.
Ouch!
From fall, go ahead and give me athletics with advantage.
You're trying to beat a 15.
With advantage?
Yeah. Athletics?
Yeah.
10 plus 8's gonna do it.
18.
So Tayar, you do this incredibly honorable thing,
standing there, healing yourself,
be like, you may take whatever you find on them.
But this guy did a moment before
say, why don't you come down here and dance?
And Cadigan, oblige this guy is full prone, face in the mud.
You are straddling him on top of him.
Yeah, and my intent here, since I did sheathed my weapon,
and I'm not a total idiot, but I can't abide the insult is to,
I'm gonna attempt to grapple him on top of him.
Yeah, you are straddling, you are full crocodile,
you're like flying X from the wall, Crocodile Hunter,
arm around this dude, as he is in.
in armor, his face exactly where Wix was
and the impression his face made in the mud.
You've got him locked up.
To say, or I go, I got him!
That's it. I'm just holding them locked in
into my turn.
Wic.
At the game.
Wick, go ahead and give me a death savings throw.
You have the up.
I have one D20.
Thank you.
That's weirdly caught.
15.
Another success.
Because the other was a three.
It is your turn. You can choose to stabilize
or you can give another D-10.
Oh, I thought I only got that choice once.
No, no, no, every round while you're dying,
you can give inspiration or if you have no failures left.
You choose disabled.
I will stabilize.
You hear as a voice.
Whig stabilizes.
From another dimension.
Eyeball, God, cheese.
Whig stabilizes thin,
You see, looking down, you don't see any active combatants.
You just see the knight and the footman back here on top
by Casimir's body, and you see Cadigan grappling
this night in the courtyard.
It is your turn.
I'll fly down and say,
It's done.
It's done.
We should go.
As you do, the knight turns around.
All of you have made these moves here.
I will say, make a persuasion with advantage
due to the actions of your companions
that are also choosing to use their turns non-violently.
Amazing.
No, no, no.
You can use the inspiration.
Oh, yes.
Re-roll them both.
Re-roll on both.
It applies to both.
I choose to let them apply to both.
Oh.
That is crazy.
That is 14.
14.
You look.
The guy underneath Cadigan goes,
fucking, I will do anything to defend my lord.
I am an honorable.
From on the tower, you hear.
It's over.
Cosgrove, on that knight's turn who goes after the other night,
having performed his medicine check,
walks over and calls down and says,
the Baron is dead.
Sir Cosgrove, laid down your.
arms. We are prisoners of war. Castle Slok is yours. And that's where we'll take our
place. We got a castle? We got the world's world. We're not going after anybody. We're
sending up shop, baby. With a big fucking squid in the high bird. No, that's our squid room.
We're not the soldiers table. We're the subcontractors. We're the subcontractors. We'll be
I'm landlords.
Killer fucking work, gang.
How about it?
Folks, the fall of the Baron of Slocke
and the rise of a brand new series of homeowners.
Congratulations, everybody.
And we will see what is to become
of the crumbling castle Slocke, or indeed of,
we know that there's at least two other crowkeepers,
or no, one other crow keeper.
For indeed, elsewhere in SLOC.
Gully breeches.
So gully breeches.
