Your eyes come to focus. A horrible ringing sound in your head. Ah! The temperature shifts to a strangely hot, A horrible ringing sound in your head. You begin to notice around you, you're standing amongst a field of cracked onyx and dark slate with strange structures built around you.

Walls and pillars and bits of twisted iron and a massive tower not far from view. As you glance upward, you can see an expanse of iron bars that twist and overlap in this somewhat domed rectangular shape, rising up around you, enclosing you within some sort of a massive, oddly-shaped cage. And beyond that, a sky of dark ash and red ember hues.

The wind itself blows sickly warm. As you look past the ash-choked purple skyline, you can see a sourceless, ruddy atmosphere glowing through the darkened clouds. Mighty Nein, as you, the three of you, begin to focus this odd expanse around you, another flash, about 100 or so feet away, Pike, Scanlan, Vax'ildan,

you find yourselves in this same odd space. Unfamiliar, in some ways, kind of familiar, but not quite. You can't quite pinpoint where it is, but you do not know why or how you found yourselves present for this. What are you fart? Grog's not even here. There, it's just sulfur. What are you farting? Grog's not even here.

There, it's just sulfur. As you all begin to take in the curiosity of your surroundings, you begin to hear this noise. And you look up into the sky as hundreds and hundreds of shadows begin to swarm towards the space. Glancing up, you can see dozens and dozens and dozens more still climbing, tiny red-scaled, fleshy creatures

with claws and leathery wings, horned heads and tooth-filled jaws, clambering onto the sides of this cage and climbing up, going, filling onto the sides of this cage and climbing up, going, ah! Filling up the sides. Eventually, this black, red, and purple sky begins to give way to shadow as hundreds of these strange, devilish creatures of all sizes and shapes

begin to blot out the exterior until all you see are gnashing jaws, claws, and grins above and all around you in this encased space. It gets louder and louder and louder until suddenly they all go silent. The shrieking halts, The laughter comes to a stop, and all eyes seem to shift from you to the central tower in this enclosed space.

There, glancing over, you see what looks to be, looking over the edge, a 10-foot-t tall humanoid devilish being. Arms folded in the front. You can see his pale gray skin and bleached bone white hair that goes past his ankles. His body is framed by an elaborate maroon and silver nobleman's attire,

and his eyes are black coals, void-like, and his smile far too wide, peeking back almost to his ears. He raises his hands outwards. Welcome, travelers, treasured guests. This eve, you have been summoned Welcome, travelers, treasured guests. This eve, you have been summoned from across land and time

to settle a score for me and an associate. I have plucked and arranged a few from your respective troops and to pit your teams against each other to sate our curiosity and settle our disagreement. Should you fight to your utmost ability, should you take no quarter with your opponent, should you stand victorious and satisfy our little bet, you shall be returned safely and in good health.

Show mercy, and we will show none. The voice resonates and shakes the ground beneath your feet. As I am an appreciator of chaos, I have arranged a field of combat before you, suffused with numerous hidden boons. Seek them and you may partake in their blessing. One final twist. And you watch as he puts his hand out and a gem appears.

It looks like a faintly glowing, about fist-sized, rough-hewn stone. One half a deep cerulean blue, the other a faint purplish lavender coloration. Within this stone lies two souls, one from each of your bands. Whomever finds and touches it first gains their ally.

Rediscover it, and the others may reverse their fortunes. He places the stone within a metal box and closes the lid. Steps over and places it onto a small stone table at the top of the tower. Right there. Have the chosen champions a word before the fray?

Oh, is he asking us to talk? Huh? We accept your challenge of mortal combat. Wrap you up. Okay. Does anyone know what that is off the cuff? It's interesting. When you have to identify it, once you grab it, you immediately understand what it's capable of. And the rope can be used, something within 30 feet of you, to attempt to restrain them as part of an action.
