I'm honored to be your guide on this 365-day devotional adventure. November 27th, Parfit Pilfer Jesus said to him, Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the son of man has nowhere to lay his head. Luke 9.58. Try finding just the right pillow, and you will soon discover exasily how spoiled we are.

Choices fill the aisles of department stores. Pillow varieties include size, shape, firmness, and materials. Price tags run the gamut from reasonable to outrageous. Each advertise the sleep benefits of their product. For many people worldwide, the hunt for the best pillow isn't an issue. Countless are simply grateful for a place to rest their heads. In a passage, counting the cost of discipleship, Jesus answers an eager follower who believes he is ready to follow the master anywhere. The son of man has nowhere to lay his head. Jesus' home was a heavenly one. He recognized his belonging didn't come from a house or his own bed. He wasn't concerned about the feathers or foam in his pillow.

He wanted his disciples to have the same mindset. This life of work and toil, full of unrest and hardship, will never be our forever home. We are passing through and there is something much better ahead. What makes you feel safe and secure at night? As we say goodbye, may the grace of the divine surround you, and may the daily strength found in His Word guide you in every step. This is not the end, but a beautiful pause in our shared journey.
