Starting point is 00:00:00 I skipped breakfast this morning, stay out of my way. Don't threaten me with your bad choices. No worries. A booster bar from booster juice will fix me. I don't even know what that is. Yeah, because they're new. Snacks-sized bars, packed with seeds, pecans, gluten-free oats, all sorts of good stuff. That sounds lovely, actually. Two different flavors to try, too.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Coconut Pecan booster bars and harvest booster bars. Want to skip breakfast with me? I take it back. You make good choices. Booster Juice, Canadian-born, blending since 1999. Oh, hey, how's it going? Amazing. I just finished paying off all my debt with the help of the Credit Counseling Society. Whoa, seriously?
Starting point is 00:00:37 I could really use their help. It was easy. I called and spoke with a credit counselor right away. They asked me about my debt, salary, and regular expenses, gave me a few options, and help me along the way. You had a ton of debt. And you're saying Credit Counseling Society helped with all of it? Yep, and now I can sleep better at night.
Starting point is 00:00:54 When Debt's got you, you've got us. Give Credit Counseling Society a call today. Visit no more debts. You want to be that one mother fucking that every day, whether it's raining, snow and sleeting, you lost every dime. You come and you bring the energy that it takes at the highest level every day. And that's the person you want to be every day of your life. You're one decision away from changing. Literally, you are one decision away from changing.
Starting point is 00:01:26 It's a decision away. you're one decision away from changing your life. I hope you make that decision tonight. And I hope you make that decision with what you do tonight. Hey, bro, can you just promise me one thing, bro? Promise me that for the next six months, you'll give it your all. No averageness, no laziness, no excuses, just pure effort. Because truth be told, that's all that you're missing.
Starting point is 00:01:49 It's just effort. If you just hone in, block out the noise, get off the ground, get off your phone, tell your weaknesses no, and tell your strengths. Yes, I promise you by the end of the year, you'll be in a totally different situation. But I can't want it more than you. We gotta make that choice. What if I'm so far away from my dream now that I die before I actually reach it? Die on the road.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Die on the road. Go to your dream. And if you never make it, at least you will finish this world going somewhere, not just setting. Say, man, if only, there are no if onlys. There is, what are we going to do now? If your life was a movie and it started now, what would the hero of your life's movie do right now? Do that, do those things,
Starting point is 00:02:43 and you can choose to be the hero of your own movie. Fear is a mile wide and an inch deep, and so it looks like this ocean that you're going to step into and drown, but as soon as you step into it, you realize it was not that deep at all, and you can keep walking through it. And I just love that visual, because a lot of times when it's like, we have this anxiety around this big decision we have to make,
Starting point is 00:03:03 if you actually take the step and realize that it's not death, you're not going to drown immediately. There's plenty of other steps you can take from there, even if you get a little wet. Every day I wake up, I'm one day closer to death. So what you're going to do with the time you got left? Stay home, man. Stay home and do your thing.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Good luck, Tia. I wish you all the luck in the world. There's going to be a small group of hungry savages out there that are going to run every one of them. you over and you can sit home and you can cry and complain about how you didn't get yours and it's because this person had this opportunity that you didn't have it's all bull cry baby don't stop when you're tired stop when you're done what is the best advice you've ever had and received do so much work it would be unreasonable for you not to be successful the less action you take the more
Starting point is 00:03:50 consequences you have the more you let those bills pile up the less work you put in the more food you eat the fatter you get all these things are gonna start piling up on you bro and bro i know you weren't built to be average you were built to have riches you were built to have the body you want the physique that you want the dreams that you want you were built to have these things and yet you're content with being average at the end of the day the keys are in your hands bro it's on you to go make that shit count grab your f*** nuts for once in your life has some ownership some credibility behind your actions and your words mean what you say do what you say follow through for some for one time in your life, one time, follow through what you said.
Starting point is 00:04:30 You feel a high that you've never felt before. When you follow through on things in life, guys, you achieve the confidence, the mentality that anything's possible. Just keep stacking days. Just keep stacking days. As long as you keep stacking days, I promise you, I promise you, you will see the change, but everything that you want is on the other side of heart. I get an email the other day
Starting point is 00:04:55 that young man wants to be a ranger but he's afraid to go to ranger school not because how hard the training is but because he's afraid if he fails what people are going to say by judging him one thing in life this applies to everything
Starting point is 00:05:11 in life any time you move from being normal to trying to be exceptional people aren't going to like that shit those normal people it makes them feel like shit so they're going to judge you And nowadays, it's very easy to be a coward.
Starting point is 00:05:28 And you realize through hard work, you can outwork anybody. I mean, how badass they are. But that's the part people don't want to dive into it. If you had to create a human, what would you put them through to make them tough? It probably wouldn't be a really chill life. At the end of every day, you look yourself in the mirror and you ask yourself, did I get better today? If the answer is yes, and you do that for five years, 10 years,
Starting point is 00:05:53 15 years, how much better are you going to be? And that's basketball, that's whether it's football. It doesn't matter. Are you getting better every single day? The magic you are looking for is in the work you're avoiding. Normal people get normal results. Weird people get weird results. You literally can't do what everyone else does and not expect to get what everyone else has. By doing what everyone else does, you guarantee average results. Every fucking day I wake up, I don't want to do some fucking shit. I'm like, okay, man, do you want to be a, Do you want to feel like a little bit? Do you want to walk around all day knowing that you could but you didn't?
Starting point is 00:06:27 Every day. Do what you're supposed to do. And don't expect some incredible results in one day or two days or 10 days. Worthwhile things take 100 days. You got to keep working. Your time's going to come. You got to work. Your time is going to happen.
Starting point is 00:06:46 You're here for a reason. But you got to be ready because if you're not. Do you not understand that the more comfortable you get, The more uncomfortable life gets. When you pray for rain, you got to deal with the mud, too. We are in control of our momentum. If you are in a terrible place right now, if your life sucks right now, and you're waiting around for things to get better,
Starting point is 00:07:06 that's not what you should be doing. That's not how it works. You need to take action. What people understand is that they live for themselves, not knowing that you have the power within yourself to change millions of lives by face of life, by facing yourself. And through that, I would die, never knowing that had the power to change millions of lives. The most dangerous person in the world is a man that is broken and alone.
Starting point is 00:07:34 To be exceptional means that you are the exception. It means that you are not normal. And so it's normal for normal people to find you abnormal if you do things that are not normal. You have to understand that anybody who's ever gotten better, anybody who's ever created, anybody who's ever built, anybody who's ever been something that you've looked up to, has gone through these hard times without quitting. People say, you have no idea hungry I am. Really? Yeah. What'd you do about it today?
Starting point is 00:08:00 Oh, not today, but tomorrow I'm gonna, I'm gonna, you ain't hungry, man. You just think you're hungry, you are not hungry. You have to be obsessed, you have to be mission focused, you have to be driven by something greater than what average people are driven by. You gotta start diving into those things that you are afraid of.
Starting point is 00:08:17 You don't gain confidence by going to the spot that makes you feel good. It's going to be a false reality. You want to reach your goal? How to reach the goal the quickest? Be focused with your energy. Meaning be focused with the mind. Don't lose the goal from the mind.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Whatever you do from the moment of waking up until the evening, whatever you do, keep the goal in the mind. This is the quickest way of making this goal become real. It's just going to take time, dude. The reality of achievement, brother, is it takes way longer. than we think. It's way harder than we think. Don't let people who have mediocre goals deter you from taking actions that make you great. Most of the limitations we have do not exist in reality. They exist only in your own mind.
Starting point is 00:09:08 And one of the starting points of great achievement is to start questioning those self-limiting beliefs and throw them off and act as if they did not exist. You have to go dark. Remember about that is you have to be quiet in your mind. get away from people because repetition is what taught me everything the fact that it is painful is the reason that it's working yeah that if it wasn't you stepping out everybody else that has to try and step out into this new life faces this same thing too every single person does that's why most people don't do it yeah like this is what hard feels like and this is why most people don't win so continuing to push through and almost seeing that level of discomfort as a signal it's like
Starting point is 00:09:51 a way marker that's been planted in the ground. Yes, more this way. Because if it was all just super easy, well, how are you going to get anything different to what everybody else has got if you do the same thing that everybody else does? And one of the best selectors for people not doing a thing is discomfort. So the route that has a lot of discomfort down it, usually on the other side of that, ends up with something which is valuable. No one's going to save you. No one's going to come out of the woods and say, hey, I got your back, man. I want to take you from all this. So the only person coming to save you as yourself. Don't half acid. Don't half acid. I mean, think about it. If you're going to do something, if you've chosen to do something, whatever it is, easy, hard, if you give it your all and you
Starting point is 00:10:31 don't have asset, win, lose, draw, get what you want, don't get what you want, whatever the outcome is, if you don't half ass it, at least you're not going to have to wonder, oh, would the outcome been different? What if I did give it my own? And boy, wondering that is what keeps us up at night. We agreed not to drink. We didn't do drugs. Like, we didn't date. We didn't do anything. We just literally obsessed from the time we woke up to the time we went to bed.
Starting point is 00:10:57 That's literally all we did. You need to love pain. And I know no pain, no this, whatever, all the, you know, the, oh my, no, this is real. You need to love pain. I am not like everybody else. I don't want to be like everybody else. I have something inside, which is burning. And I look around and this life and everything.
Starting point is 00:11:19 I see is not for me. I'm supposed to be something different. I have to be something different. And I'm going to change my life. It hurts. It's heavy. But it builds you up. Every time you wanted to quit, every time life tried to break you, you chose to stand tall. That's what makes you great. Today ain't just about a piece of paper. You know where you want to go. You need your compelling future. You need to keep pushing forward. And you can't expect others to get you. your dreams because they weren't downloaded in them. They were downloaded in you. The person you have to spend the most time listening to in your life is yourself,
Starting point is 00:12:00 try not to lose their respect. How on earth do you think that you're going to be able to move mountains and get out of that relationship that you don't like and move countries or change career when you can't not hit snooze, even though last night you promised yourself that you weren't going to hit snooze? And it's how people that are able to do extraordinary things have been able to get there. If I'm running on a treadmill and I get to mile nine
Starting point is 00:12:23 and I get complete cramp in one of my legs and I know I've told myself I'm going to run 10 kilometres today, he goes, I will have to limp the last mile even if no one's watching because I can't let the demons in. And if I let the demons in, they'll show up in the 11th round of a championship fight when there's 50,000 people watching me in the audience and I know deep in myself story
Starting point is 00:12:43 that I'm the type of person that quits when things get hard because I got off that treadmill at mile 9 when no one was watching. The commitments we keep, to ourselves and what we do when no one's watching is the most persuasive evidence that governs everything we then do every day thereafter. Learn to say you to the world every once in a while. You have every right to just stop. Think. If you tell yourself the truth and the truth is I'm not happy with where I'm at. That's the truth. The truth is I can do more. The truth is I can't be in better shape. The truth is I can work harder than I'm working right now. The truth is I can do more
Starting point is 00:13:15 for my family. The truth is I can do much better than I'm doing right now. And if that's the real truth, if that's what you believe, if you believe that to be the truth, you won't have to find more discipline, discipline will find you. It will wake you up in the morning. Your nanny, whatever you do, you've got to be a little bit gone to it. You're not all there. You've got to be almost insane to your craft. Not a lot of people can understand that. That's why I don't know about nothing else.
Starting point is 00:13:44 I do not pay attention to nothing else. There was games of football on yesterday. It was rugby, it was this, it was that. And like, normal society is like, let's talk about this, let's engage in this. And I just don't, I can't do it. I just don't, I'm, people are talking to me.
Starting point is 00:14:00 And in my head, I'm counting something. I'm counting up a number. Or I'm knee deep in a sequence on the mat or on the feet. That's my life. Sequences and numbers. Nothing else. I cannot pay attention to nothing else. It's all about focus.
Starting point is 00:14:15 I don't care who you are, where you're from, that matter. It's having a focus. focus and having a purpose. You wake up every single day to get better today than you were yesterday. It doesn't matter with you. Are you basketball player, hockey player, golf player, painter, right? Nothing matter.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Right. You try to reach your full potential by getting better every single day and that's the question. I had to stop thinking normal. I had to stop thinking normal. I can no longer be a common man walking around doing common things. Everything you do, you may have some support. You may not, but it's on you. You have to make the decision.
Starting point is 00:14:48 whether you want to be a badass or whether you just want to be mediocre. Once you change one thing, your mindset, you can attack everything. Those who have swords and know how to use them, but keep them sheathed, will inherit the world. One of the things I tell young men, well, and young women as well, but the young men really need to hear this more, I think, is that you should be a monster. You know, because everyone says, well, you should be harmless, virtuous. You shouldn't do anyone any harm. You should sheath your competitive.
Starting point is 00:15:18 instinct. You shouldn't try to win. You know, you don't want to be too aggressive. You don't want to be too assertive. You want to take a back seat and all of that. It's like, no. Whether you like it or not, for the time you wake up, to the time you go to bed. A lot of us are at war with ourselves. And within that war, you have several battles. Those battles are basically choices.
Starting point is 00:15:39 No, I'm not talking about a war that you might find in the Coliseum. I'm talking about a war that's in your brain. That war exists because, Life has so many choices. Within those choices, you got to make right decisions. But you know what? Dad, when the alarm goes off in the morning, you have to wake up. When you fail, don't blame your mom.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Don't blame your dad. One of the person you have to blame is yourself. Trees don't hang around with the grass, even though they all started from the same place. Spend so much time on self-improvement that you have no time to criticize others. It's always you versus you. If you compete, if you're competing against other people, you know what I mean? Competing against others and you're going to become bitter. Eventually you'll become better.
Starting point is 00:16:27 But if you compete against yourself, you'll become better. You know what I mean? A quote that has helped me immeasurably over the last few years. It's something that hit me and it knocked me for six. And it's so simple. And it's from a book called The Horse, the Boy, the Fox and the Mole. And it's basically an illustration book. And one of my favorite quotes out of the whole book is a boy and a horse are in the woods.
Starting point is 00:16:55 And a boy says to the horse, I can't see a way through. And the horse says, can you see your next step? And a boy says, yeah. And a horse says, then just take that. Wow. And it hit me. Yeah. All of the time, we look at the goal.
Starting point is 00:17:09 We look at the future. We look at the end game. We look at how long a journey it is. And we feel overwhelmed. Yeah. Instead of that, just go right. I'm not going to worry about that because that will come. With each step, you will get closer to that.
Starting point is 00:17:22 So I don't need to worry about how far away it is. All what I need to focus on right now, all I need to focus on right now is my next step. Isn't about time you become that person you knew you always could be? How do you do that? You break the fold, guys. You get the fuck out of that when it's cold, when it's early. You do something away from the normality of what you've been doing. That's psychotic behavior.
Starting point is 00:17:43 doing the same thing expecting a different result doesn't work the way. You must switch up the mainframe. Switch it up if you want a different result, man. Why not try it, man? Shock the system. Start with an earthquake, man. What I mean by that is, yeah, get up at full in a fucking morning one day. Just one day.
Starting point is 00:17:59 And go for a fucking run. Commit to one day and see how you feel. As you're jogging it back in around five or something, as your neighbors are still asleep. Or as you're jogging it back in at 6 o'clock, and your neighbor was just getting up, grabbing the coffee, looking outside, wondering, you know, what the day's going to hold for them.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Well, your day's already provided something for you. If your definition of success is win or lose, giving everything you've got and growing or learning along the way, then you're setting yourself up for success. I really think the biggest cheat code in life is just going after it and not being concerned of whether or not you fail at one specific task. Instead, understanding the big picture, what your long-term goal is,
Starting point is 00:18:37 and knowing if you keep driving forward and never quit, in the end, you will succeed. But it's like, oh, do you want to do this or not? which is what I think a lot of it boils down to you. Do you actually want to do this or not? Do you actually want to do this or not? Because if you actually want to do it, what's going to stop you? And if you don't really want to do it, what's going to stop you? Just about anything that comes up.
Starting point is 00:18:56 Just about any obstacle it gets in your way becomes an excuse. It becomes a reason. It comes a rationale for not proceeding down that path. And this is interesting too. When you talk to people that went to seal training that didn't make it, family problem, there's very few people that look at you and say, oh, I quit because it sucked. Imagine that you're in a movie, and imagine the movie begins now. And you're the hero of the movie.
Starting point is 00:19:18 What would that guy do? What would that guy do right now? Because you are. Motherf-the-purpose is you. We forget that. Well, life took me somewhere unexpected. I'm unprepared. It's about six degrees out here, and I'm underdressed.
Starting point is 00:19:33 But guess what? No one gives a fuck. You got to get the motherfucker in. Sometimes life can really hijack your fucking mind. When that happens to you, You're all f*** up, your goals, your ambitions. Everything is out the window. In life, we all go through different things.
Starting point is 00:19:49 Sometimes your girlfriend or boyfriend breaks up with you. Guess what? Get to fuck over it. They no longer want you. Maybe you fell a test in school. You worked your ass off. Guess what? You failed to test.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Get over it. Move past it. Learn to not let life hijack your brain. At work, you've been working your ass off that new promotion. You don't get it. Someone else does. Maybe they kiss better ass than you do. Guess what?
Starting point is 00:20:10 Get over it. Life will hijack your mind if you let it. Don't allow all these things to make you a lesser person. You must own your mind. Don't let life own yours. The next step is even bigger and bigger. Next time, then you're on top of the mountain, man. You only got one life.
Starting point is 00:20:27 I don't go for it, right? Thinking, worrying, looking over your shoulder, wondering, doubting, fearing, hurting, hoping for some easy way out. Stop it and just do! If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, and if they can't stop you, then you become something else entirely. Legend.
