Daily Motivations - Be A Man 2

Episode Date: July 6, 2026

This is for the ones who were never shown what it means to be a man - the ones who had to reverse-engineer it through pain, through failure, through years of drifting without an anchor. Somewhere alo...ng the way the standard got buried. Comfort was normalized. Accountability disappeared. And a generation of men ended up soft not because they chose it, but because no one ever challenged them to choose otherwise. What you're about to hear is a conversation about real masculinity - not the performance version, not the posturing - but the version that shows up when no one is watching and holds the line anyway. This is how to be a man when the world stopped teaching it.Featuring voices like David Goggins, Alex Hormozi, Jocko Willink, Joe Rogan, and more.Instagram - @daily_motivationsorgFacebook- @daily_motivationsorgSupport us PayPal

Starting point is 00:00:00 Godfather, I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do. You can act like a man. What's the matter what you? Lazy people do a little work and think they should be winning. But winners work as hard as possible and still worry if they're being lazy. Hard times create hard men.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Hard men create soft times. Soft times create soft men. Soft men create hard times. We are now around soft men. men in hard times. You won't die. And if you do die, you won't care because you'll be dead. Best case you win, worst case it won't matter. Be a dangerous man. Now being dangerous is not being a threat. There are two different things. All right. And it's not about going out and lifting weights and getting a bunch of tattoos and wearing leather jackets and walking around. We're chest and shoulders
Starting point is 00:00:55 up, hulking around saying, I'm dangerous. That's very rarely is that a dangerous. That's very rarely. Is that a dangerous man. Often the most dangerous man in the room is the quietest man in the room. Here's something a guy said recently. This dude said, there's a moment when every boy realizes no one's coming to save him. And that's when he becomes a man. And some boys never get there and stay children forever. That guy was you that said that. And it's important when we step out of this. Like this stuff matters because no one's effing coming. to save you. You find no answers in the light. None. It's too happy. It's too nice. And we're not, we need to be taught how to live in happiness. That just comes naturally to us. Happy moments,
Starting point is 00:01:42 but the dark times, man, and you can't get there unless you put yourself there. And I dedicated this fight. I wasn't going to fight. I dedicated this fight down. I was going to rip his heart out. I'm the best ever. I'm the most brutal and vicious and most ruthless champion that's ever been. There's no one can stop me. Links is a conqueror. No, I'm Alexander. He's no Alexander. I'm the best ever. There's never been anybody's rooocling. I'm Sonny Liston. I'm Jack Dempsey. There's no one like me. I'm from there cloth. There's no one that can match me. My style is impetuous. My defense is impregnable. And I'm just ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat his children. Praise be to Allah.
Starting point is 00:02:16 You're a man. You are a man. Stand up and be a man. Make the hard decisions. make the sacrifices, make the unpopular decisions, and become comfortable in your own skin. And if you are not a person that you are comfortable being alone with, that is the one person in this universe that you have full power,
Starting point is 00:02:42 full right, full responsibility to change. He's okay, he's okay, he's okay. There is no tomorrow. When do you become a man? When you get a driver's license? Like, what do we do? You 16, we give you a drive, your lives. Okay, well, like, you get a job. Like, when do you become a man? You become a man when you become responsible for other people. And part of that is taking accountability. And so, like, I'm very new to this being a man thing. And I'm still not there. And I'm on a path. You're always going to need to push yourself. You're always going to need to parent yourself.
Starting point is 00:03:34 So what is the net advice on this? What is the bottom line? The bottom line is no one's coming. No one. No one's coming to push you. No one's coming to tell you to turn the TV off. No one's coming to tell you to get out the door and exercise. Nobody's coming to tell you to apply for that job that you've always
Starting point is 00:03:57 dreamt about. Nobody's coming to write the business plan for you. It's up to you. And because you're only ever going to do the things that you feel like doing right now or that feel good right now, unless you understand that you've got to parent yourself, you've got to push yourself, you're not going to make your dreams come true. You're just not. Who teaches you to be a man? You know, But fame is a monster. You know, and we all have these ladders of battles, roads we have to walk in our given lives. Be you famous or whoever's out there listening. We all have our individual challenges.
Starting point is 00:04:44 It's cliche. Money don't make it better. It don't. Fame just magnifies the problems and the opportunities. I never looked at things as problems. I look at them as opportunities. Maybe that's something I can say. You know, so now, I what she did this?
Starting point is 00:05:02 And I was going, well, what an opportunity you have? Yeah, well, the world, you know, because they said this and said that, yeah, well, what an opportunity you have to make a difference? Because you never know who's watching. But more importantly, you shouldn't do it to be seen. You know, pray about it. whatever it is you're committed to fight for it
Starting point is 00:05:25 what did you say fear is nothing but contaminated faith that's right fear is nothing but contaminated faith I grew up on a in a culture that told me going to war made you a man
Starting point is 00:05:42 going to prison coming back coming back makes you a man making a million dollars makes you a man you know and and it doesn't And you don't know it until you didn't done all these things and realized damn, I'm still a little boy. Or been around people who've been there a bunch of times. You know, I don't know nothing about being a war like Kevin, but I know a bunch of soldiers that come back and are still little boys.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Can't wait to get back out. I know so many dudes can't wait to get back out, you know. Guys that we know, you know, warriors. But even warriors don't make you a man. Pain is passed down from father to son and son to son. A lot of pain in Troy's life is a result of the pain and damage from his father that he then visits on his son. We have to, as black men, be mindful of that.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Sometimes it's unfair, and sometimes we take it out on those we love. And I'm guilty of that frustration that we all have. But we have a responsibility and a duty to be fathers, not to just make babies, but to be real fathers. And you can't expect any good to come to. you if you don't visit any good on your son or your daughter. So be a man. Be the guy who embraces the ugly, the miserable.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Be the guy who embraces hard work, the grind. Don't be afraid of being hurt. Don't be afraid of a sacrifice to some blood. Son don't fucking stop. Son going to be up in the morning regardless. That son is going to be up in the morning regardless of how I fucking feel and how depressed I am, the sun is going
Starting point is 00:07:26 fucking shine in the morning and the night time the moon going to be there and you're going to look up these days going to keep going by so do you let the days go by and look up and you don't waste of the year doing what? What do you just pick it up? All right. I've got to figure it out, made some mistakes.
Starting point is 00:07:42 Life goes on. Let me figure out life from this point. I'm a life goes on type of guy. I don't care how good you are in anything. You don't have discipline. You ain't nobody. Right. nothing about discipline because you give up under the slightest struggle without discipline 100%. Discipline is doing what you hate to do, but do it like you love it.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Doing what you hate to do, but do it like you love it. Do you fear anybody? No. No. If you're willing to fight me, we can fight. No problem. Come and try me. Anyone. You gotta change that shit, man. Yeah, but you don't understand my life, David. Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:08:21 That's the thing about it. And that's why I can talk about. But yeah, I get what you're saying. A lot of folks don't under, I get that mentality. I once had that mentality that no one understands what the I'm going through. And if you keep that mentality, you're going to stay in the same exact spot that you're in. If you have to ask how to get motivated to go to the gym, you don't need to be going to the gym. You don't want it enough.
Starting point is 00:08:47 When you're sick and tired of looking and feeling like shit, You'll show up. I'll see you there because you're going to look in the mirror and you're going to be like that. You're going to want to be in the gym. It's hard when you're young to wake up in the off season at 6 a.m. to go train and work out, knowing that all your friends are sleeping in and eating pancakes. It's hard when you're on your way to practice, way down with all your gear. And it's 90 degrees out and all the other kids are at the pool or at the beach. And your body is already completely exhausted from workout.
Starting point is 00:09:21 in two a days. It's hard to throw, catch, block, and tackle and hit kids when they're way bigger and way more developed than you, only to go home that night bruised and battered and strained, but knowing you have to show up again the next day for just the chance to try again. But understand this, life is hard. If everybody who's like at the bottom and feels like they have nothing going for them, reframe that as I have nothing going for me, which also means that I have nothing to lose by taking action, it makes you a much more dangerous person.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Don't you eat every day? Answer me when I talk to you. Don't you eat every day? Yeah. As long as you're in my house, you put a sur on the end of it when you talk to me. Yes, sir. You eat every day. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Got a roof over your head. Yes, sir. Got clothes on your back. Yes, sir. Why you think that is? Because of you? Hell, I know it's because of me. But why do you think that is?
Starting point is 00:10:17 Because you like me. I go out of here every morning. I bust my butt putting up with them crackers every day. God, I like you. You're about the biggest fool I ever saw. It's my job. It's my responsibility. A man is supposed to take care of his family.
Starting point is 00:10:38 You live in my house for your belly with my food. Put you behind on my bed because you're my son. Because I like you. Because it's my duty to take care of you. I owe a responsibility to you. Now, let's get you. this straight right here now before it go along any further i ain't got to like you mr rand don't give me my money come pay day cause he like me he give it to me because he owe me people think that you should be
Starting point is 00:11:03 weak and you should be docile and then you you you should be a pacifist he goes no you should be a monster he said you should be a monster you should be ruthlessly ambitious and then learn how to control it And it's that old expression. It's better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war. Congratulations. Ah, you achieve failure. Failure has been achieved. Thank God.
Starting point is 00:11:44 Now, the only place to go from failure is to win. You have to achieve failure. You have to take it that far. Nobody wants to go that far. It's too scary. You know something? news for you. That's where winning is. It always has been.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Give a man a purpose and the ability to achieve it and he will crawl over broken glass with a smile. And I think that feeling capable and powerful and competent and respected and admired is something that will get a man so far. You give a man those things and he'll deal with suffering until the ends of the other. What did I learn about myself from the... the highs and lows of my life. The highest point of my life and the lowest point of my life, what did I learn about myself? And I said, I learned that I don't let the highs and lows affect me too much. Because we're going to have wins. We're going to have losses. We're going to have successes. We're going to have failures. We're going to have good nights. We're going to have bad
Starting point is 00:12:55 nights. We're going to have good relationships. We're going to have bad relationships. We're going to have good ideas and bad ideas. We're going to make money, we're going to lose money. All these things are going to happen. And if you oscillate emotionally, up and down drastically, it's going to be problematic. So finding a good, stable, centered way to be, and look at the world and take everything that you see with a little bit of a grain of salt, and don't get swayed too drastically in one direction or the other, you're going to be okay.
