In 2026, I need you to make me a promise you're not allowed to break.
I need you to finally bet on yourself to do something big.
And no matter how many fucking times you fall, you pick your head right back up.
You don't need a million people to believe in you.
You only need one.
If you're watching this right now, it's a sign.
2026 is the year that everything changes for you.
You have to explore, examine the insides of yourself.
And what do you really want out of life?
Your friend, a lot of people out here, just don't fucking want it.
So guess what?
Have fun with your life.
My entire life, I was waiting for somebody to save me.
Me out.
I was waiting on somebody to give me an opportunity until I realized that's never coming.
And I had to be the one to figure it out.
And that is the scariest thing is figuring it out.
But when you start to actually look at your life as how can I do this instead of what are the reasons why I can't, you learn that you have a lot more at your disposal and maybe doing the thing that scares you the most actually isn't that scary.
You want to live a miserable, frustrated, torturous existence, dream about how great things could be and do nothing about it.
That's going to be very painful for you from here until the end of your life.
And then at the end of your life, you're going to regret your entire life because you're going to say, well, shit, I knew what to do, but I just didn't do it.
It's going to feel better when it's over.
And you notice waking up, working out, taking care of some tedious task.
You also know that if you don't do the hard thing, you're going to feel inferior.
You know, you're going to feel weak.
Those are the two outcomes.
Remember feeling a victory that comes from doing the right thing, the hard thing.
Remember that feeling?
The Loden chapter describes a time in your life where you're so developed that you can't really resonate with your old set of friends.
But you're not yet sufficiently developed that you've built a new set of friends.
It's so much easier to just stay in the routine that you were previously, doing the same sorts of things.
For you to pull away from that, you're going to have to do stuff.
usually that makes you more different, more easy to be mocked, and more alone.
Why not you? Why not you?
With good self-esteem. Why not you starting to change and setting goal?
You are not your past.
You're you.
You're you right now.
Like the past you did, you might have done some things you wish you hadn't done.
Don't dwell on that.
You learn from it, that's fine, but don't dwell on it.
Just keep moving.
Keep moving.
You know, use it as fuel.
Say never again.
You know, I get what I did wrong, but don't think that you're that person that made those mistakes.
You're the person who's learned.
If you're going to try, go all the way.
Otherwise, don't even start.
If you're going to try, go all the way.
Imagine where you would be in the year
if you actually focused on the things that make you better.
If you actually start doing things
and you actually take action.
Imagine how far you would be, bro.
If you really locked in, if you really stay focused,
your mindset is not on the things that you want in life.
The fastest way to live,
losing yourself is to try and make everyone else happy. The best thing you can do is be a true
north, be you, shine your light, know what your core values are, know what your belief system is,
know what your morals and your character should be, and live by that. The road to paradise
starts in hell. You have to take that bus ride, that walk, that crawl, that flight, whatever
it may be, back to hell consistently. Because here's the thing. If hell comes visit you,
And it visits a lot of people.
It's not going to leave.
And your hell is what you're willing not to acknowledge.
You're not willing to acknowledge who you are, what your darkness is, what fuels you.
If you're not engaged in your life, it's because you haven't picked a dragon of sufficient merit.
Is that if you haven't found meaning in your life, it's because you haven't taken on a big enough burden.
That's a strange thing.
It's a strange thing that that's true.
But I think it is, it's the closest to truth that we have.
The purpose of life is not just to get your goals.
Your goals or you're getting what you want doesn't make you happy.
It makes you happy is who you become in pursuit of those goals.
So the growth, the progress, even if you don't achieve it yet, but you start losing weight,
or you start building muscle, or you start making a relationship better,
or you start to build a business.
The building, the progress is what makes you feel alive, because we're all made to either grow or die.
If your relationship's not growing, it's dying.
If your business is not growing, it's dying.
There's no in-between relationship.
That doesn't work.
and yet death is the destination we all share
no one has ever escaped it
and that is as it should be
because death is very likely the single best invention of life
it's life's change agent it clears out the old to make way for the new
right now the new is you
but someday not too long from now you will gradually become the old
and be cleared away your time is limited
so don't waste it
living someone else's life.
Don't be trapped by dogma,
which is living with the results of other people's thinking.
Don't let the noise of others' opinions
drown out your own inner voice.
And most important,
have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
They somehow already know
what you truly want to become.
It's not like you're guaranteed to kill it.
Nobody is ever guaranteed to kill it.
But if you don't try,
and you definitely won't.
If you get after it, you got a chance.
You got to fight a chance for sure.
But if you never do,
then what's the point
to even think if you're expecting any sort of results?
It all starts with who you are,
because who you are is your character.
And your character is an accumulation of your thoughts,
your habits, and your priorities on a day-to-day basis.
because those three things determine the choices you make and the choices you make
make you who you are good guy bad guy hard working lazy responsible irresponsible and
it takes a certain amount of discipline to do what you're supposed to do when you're
supposed to do it the way it's supposed to get done how long can you stay in that pool
how far can you run how much can you push yourself past the part where you want to quit
how far can you keep going there's a purity in that they
dissolves social order, all that shit, what people think about you goes out the window.
And who are you right now?
Who are you right now?
But I'm going to keep going.
I'm going to keep going.
And if you do that and you don't allow the shame and the regret and the heaviness of what
you just went through, if you don't allow that to stop you and you just keep going,
all that crap that you're covered in, it starts to fall off of it.
Right. It starts to fall away. And eventually, you're good again. You cannot allow that to stop you. And that is what stops most people. It's regret. It's shame. It's the pile of crap they had to walk through 10 years ago that they created. And because of that, they never do anything with the rest of their freaking life, man.
being successful is to not quit if you don't quit you might make it but there's a
hell of a lot more to you than you think like way more enough to cope with the
trouble of the world inside you there's enough to cope with trouble of the world
if you had enough courage you could let that out enough courage and faith you
could you could let that out and everything would be better because of it really
really so that's why I like to be isolated and that's why this
That's why this has helped me coming out here
and being locked in an apartment on my own,
building back up my leg,
going from rehab to home to rehab to home
because there was no outsiders.
It was isolation.
It was visualization.
It was motivation and it was dedication.
There was no nothing else going on in my life.
You know what I mean?
To get to the pinnacle, it needs to be like that.
It needs to be no outsiders.
It needs to be, you need to have your team
and your focus and that's it.
I don't need friends that aren't involved in this game.
or that aren't on the same path, you know what I mean?
Because it just doesn't make sense.
If you find yourself a mole, you're not being isolated.
You're not being forgotten.
You're not being ignored.
You're in the lab.
Well, this isn't a thing where scientists walk in.
Now, this is where greatness is developed alone.
Because in the battlefield of the mind is where you must be able to find peace.
To sort out the traumas that you've been through as a child,
and be able to get over those things like hurdles.
And after each one of those hurdles you cross,
realize you're getting closer to your goal.
I'm capable of being on my own way beyond how anybody else is.
So far beyond it.
I can work on my own in solitude for an endless amount of time.
I can outwork anybody in solitude.
Why?
Because I spent almost all of my time between the ages of 6 and 16
in my bedroom
listening to audio tapes
right listening to audio books
and like throwing like a tennis ball
against the wall
but all of that discomfort
and all of the challenges
that I went through that
are the thing
one of the things
that I'm so proud of myself for now
okay so what if I look back
and I said well
the bullying that I went through
and the challenges of feeling alone
and being on the outside of social groups
meant that I developed
such attenuation and attention
and focus
and an ability to distill
down what's happening socially, which is why I became one of the best club promoters in the UK
for a decade and a half.
Right. Because for all of my school life, I'd been obsessing over how Alex wears his tie.
Maybe that's why he has friends and I don't have friends. Okay, so looking back, would I have
rather had the friends and had the brother or sister and not develop this skill? I can't
split test life, so I don't know. Right. But my life's ended up pretty good, and I'm happy with it.
I have lost a lot of the friends, or almost all of the friends that I had, when I started my journey.
And the upside is people will come into your life to fill the vacuum that the other people left.
But sometimes it doesn't happen immediately.
And I think getting comfortable with having space is a good thing.
And a lot of people have the impulse or urge to always have people around them, and I think it's to their own detriment.
Because I think if you can spend time alone with your thoughts and be okay with just being you without other people,
then you are more selective
and it's the same way with dating
some people can't be alone
some people can't be without a significant other
and so they just end up shacking up with the first person
they see after they become single again right
and it's because they have a fear of being alone
more than they think that this person is really the best pick
and so a lot of ways are similar to dating with friends
in that we can hold out and really just pick the best people
if you have lost friends during the process of the climb
I don't think it is something that you should lament
or be upset about.
The commitments we keep to ourselves
and what we do when no one's watching
is the most persuasive evidence
like governs everything we then do
every day thereafter.
And this is, for me,
it was a huge revelation in my life
because you can look at certain people
in your lives that are struggling
in certain situations
and oftentimes it's a result
of continually unkept commitments to themselves.
Most men live lives of quiet desperation.
It's one of my favorite quotes ever
because it's true.
It's not been that guy.
You're just in the...
this world where you just can't wait to just run away.
You have an apartment you have to pay for.
You have a car you lease.
You have a wife that you have to feed.
You have a child.
You have to raise.
You have your mortgage.
You have your this.
You have your that.
And that's where it all comes from.
Where do you think opportunity plays into that?
Well, the opportunity takes place usually when you're young and you don't have any
responsibility.
That's when you have your options.
Well, your options are severely limited.
The more you gather responsibility.
like if I had to
as a 51 year old father of three
married man pays taxes
has a house and a mortgage and a business
and all that jazz
if I had to quit everything now
and struggle the way I struggled as a stand-up comedian
it would never work
but the only way I could be this person
now is if I took that chance when I was 21
when I was dead broke and
had my cars repossessed and all that stuff
that's the only way
you ever get where you want to go.
You have to take a path that's dangerous.
And most people want to take the safe path.
The safe path leaves you stuck in quiet desperation
almost every time. It's hell.
My personal question to you is, why not you?
You've got the brains.
You can make decisions.
You can study the plan.
You can change your life.
You can grow immensely in the next few years.
years. You can make your dreams come true. You can build a financial wall around your family.
Nothing can get through. You can become healthy. You can become powerful. Why not you?
I had to believe in it. I had to feel it. I had to have faith in it. For it to happen. If I didn't,
it wouldn't have happened. Yeah, I go here. I call it the dark room. Well, you're alone.
No cell phones. No music. No TVs. No computers.
you by yourself very few people want to be alone anymore
they want to be around noise and people and they have to
you can't think be alone go to that dark space
in that dark space shut life off a little bit
go to a dark place in your mind
and figure out what the fuck you want to be
you don't know what you don't want because
you don't know what you want to be
because you haven't spent time real time with yourself
spend time with yourself
Trust me, and once you find that passion, that purpose, your goals, your purpose, everything
that they start lining up.
My father told us that he's retiring from the game of basketball and that it was time
for us to come back to America.
I didn't want to come back, and my sisters didn't want to come back.
But when it was time to start school, I thought that me and my sisters would be together
the same school, just like in Italy.
But my sisters were older than I was.
starting high school. It was very hard getting adjusted simply because I had a lot of trouble
understanding English and the slang. But one thing I had in comment with some of my other
students and classmates was basketball. And unfortunately, because of lack of communication
with my peers, I wasn't invited to parties or, you know, friendly, friendly gatherings on
the weekend. So on Fridays and Saturdays, I would go to my rec room.
with my basketball and basically dribble myself to sleep.
And I think that that was the best thing that could have ever happened to.
Because during those lonely hours in the rec room,
I discovered the hunger, the motivation,
and desire to be the best possible basketball player that I could be.
It's a great feeling to know that you set a goal for yourself
and you were able to reach that goal and to knock it down.
In order for something new to come, something old must go.
And that old can sometimes mean let go of what you know until now.
Empty the cup.
We chose this path.
It's a damn hard one.
You owe it to yourself to see it through.
Why?
We all ask why we should work this hard.
Why take that many classes?
Why go to school that many years?
You know, why take the notes?
Why read the books?
Why work that hard?
Why put yourself through the push-ups and the disciplines?
Why?
Good question, what.
The best answer to why, I think, is the second question.
Why not?
It's time to take all of that negativity, all of those labels that were tried to be thrown at you.
It's time to take all of them and wear them as badges of honor.
Oh, you told me that I was weak?
You told me that I would never be anything?
Watch me become successful.
Everything that people throw at you to bring you down, it makes the victory sweeter when you get to the top of the mountain.
That's why they throw it at you.
It's meant to be part of your story.
Only weak motherfuckers in life.
Go after things and attend things they already know they can achieve.
You've got to do something you not quit?
Sure, try something new if you want to switch it up.
That's where growth comes, man.
That's where your body is forced to adapt.
Forced to suffer the discipline today.
So you never suffer the form of regret tomorrow.
There is no story without a plaque.
There is no story without a villain trying to bring the hero down.
That's why we watch the movies.
That's why we read the stories.
We want to see that story of triumph.
It's what inspires us deep down within to take the same action.
What is something that all the successful people who have ever lived or who will ever live have in common?
It is the first step.
They have all, and all will have, an unwavering commitment to take the critical first step.
All dreams, ambitions, and goals have this in common.
You have to start.
You have to take the first step.
Instead of making huge plans with huge steps, better think about.
how to structure your 24 hours and put a little bit of what you want to develop there
inside that day no matter what you are going through in life how sad you are
how much pain you're feeling the trauma that you're going through you are strong
enough to see another day and it's not about being 100% every single day every single
day, it's about just showing up. That's what I did. No matter what the answer, no matter how
I'm feeling, I show up every single day. I had made the decision that I would either die or I
would succeed. For anyone who's going through it right now, the refrain, the repeated message that I
had to myself over and over again was, I cannot lose if I do not quit. And so if I could just have
that, then it meant, it was like this tiny little thing is like, if I don't quit, I didn't
lose. It just means I still get to play.
We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated.
That, in fact, it may be necessary to encounter defeats
so we can know who the hell we are.
What can we overcome?
What makes us stumble and fall and somehow miraculously rise and go on?
You are the hero in this story.
You are the hero in your story.
And now you can take all of that negativity, all of that pain,
and you can use it to hurt people
you can use it to
dish out the same negativity
the same hurt that you received
or you can take that pain
take all of that hurt
and use it as the reason
to never see it in the world
again
listen to people that are going to tell you that you can't do it
don't listen to haters don't listen to naysayers
don't listen to people to give you advice that tell you to slow down
or you shouldn't do it or you can't do it or time's not right
or any of those other things those are dream stealers they were sent to you to see if
overcome them. They were sent to you to test your resiliency. And if you can overcome that,
if you just discard all that stuff and you get clear on those other things, you've got a really
good chance of doing something great with your life. And just remember what you were put here
to do. You're not a mistake. You're not here by an accident. You were born to do something great
with your life. The easy route never pays well. The only route in life that pays well is the
hard route, the struggle, the pain, the frustration,
and the overcoming of those things and not only do they pay they fulfill you as well
because it shows the people around you what is possible and there's nobility in them
if you only did what you were supposed to do when you were motivated to do it that's leaving it the
chance but if you're disciplined you go to what you're supposed to do that's the way it works
one trait that predicts success now one more attempt at a set or a rest
or a rep in the gym, that one more plate that you're going to put on when you're working
out, that one more mile that you're going to run, that one more time when you fell on your
ass and you're going to get back up, that one more time that you're going to make an attempt
at your life's ambitions. That is the separator between average people and savage people.
In every family, there's the one. And that one changes that family forever. In my family,
I'm the one. I'm the one. I'm the one who I'll sleep at night. I'm the one who got up early.
I'm the one who carried the emotional burden of waiting. Just like you are. You're the one.
Your presence on this planet is no accident and you are absolutely here for a purpose. You've been given a gift. It's your genius and it's intended to bring joy to your life and to lift the lives of those around you.
I want you to understand this.
If you want to bring out the best and others, start with the mirror.
So many people are trying to persuade others, trying to influence others, trying to bring out the best than others.
But they're not starting with themselves.
It all starts for you.
It starts there because when you bring out the best in you, you are very contagious.
If a person would sit down and let their body relax, totally.
relaxed and then start to visualize in their mind. See themselves the way they want to see themselves. See how you'd like to live your life. See yourself living it that way. Okay. Now understand that that's a picture in your mind. When you pick up a book, the book is nothing but a picture that an author has painted in words. Dream my painting and then I paint my dream. We become what we think about. Now it may be fantasy at first. It might even appear to us as being a lie.
But if you eat it off enough, you'll start to believe it.
Listen to me, man.
You have a great life in front of it.
But your great life is in front of you.
It's not behind you.
You embrace the challenge.
It's a test.
It's a way to prove yourself.
It's a way to toughen yourself.
We can compare the attitude to the aperture of a lens.
When you are fearful, that aperture tends to close down,
giving you a narrow perspective on the world.
If you take in less, you have less to fear.
But as your mind closes down,
you miss see opportunities and coming up with new ideas.
But if that lens opens up
expands suddenly you can see all kinds of combinations and connections out there in the world
that nobody else is seen because of their fearful closed lens the way they're looking at the world
in this case the chaos of the world is not something to fear but something to exploit
this is the source of all creative thinking
That's why you got to work on yourself.
Because life will send you some curves.
You cannot anticipate.
Whatever you do, you want to develop technical mastery.
You want to be the best at what you do.
You want to master it.
See, part of self-motivation is you've got to find something that gives you a strong sense of competence.
When you become known for that, you develop a reputation of being good at doing that.
You set some high personal standards for yourself.
You're not competing with anybody else.
You're just unfolding yourself to be the best person that you could be.
I've looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself,
if today were the last day of my life,
would I want to do what I am about to do today?
And whenever the answer has been no for too many days in a row,
I know I need to change something.
Because almost everything, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure,
These things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.
Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.
There is no reason not to follow your heart.
This is the instinct that says you've had enough.
This is the instinct that says you've given it your best.
shot you can you can stand down you can back off you could take a meet this is the instinct that says
you can rest now do not listen to that instinct do not listen do not listen that instinct that instinct is a liar
and wants to bring you down.
That's the instinct that's a defense mechanism.
It wants to give you an act
based to running to
little place of sympathy.
For every
adversity, it's for every adversity
that life gives you, it also gives you a seed of equal opportunity.
But we have to nurture that seed.
I'm talking about the commitment that says I am going to stay true to what I said I would do
long after the mood that I've set it in his left.
Because I think we all know in this room, character is not something that we inherit.
Character is something we got to wake up every single day.
We got to fight and we got to build it.
In the midst of opposition adversity and challenges,
I don't care how tall your daddy was.
You got to do your own brother.
In the midst of challenges, opposition, and pain.
Develop a health plan.
So you can't feel well and do well if you don't have good help.
You can't perform.
If you don't have your health.
Health is valuable.
Develop a health plan.
A plan that you will follow because this is the only vehicle that you have to carry you through this experience called life.
And you want to take good care of it because you love you enough.
You care enough about you.
And that's not easy.
It is not easy having a health plan and sticking to it.
But you're worth it doing it again and again and again.
If for 10 years, if you didn't avoid doing what you knew you needed to do, what would you be like?
There is a difference between passion and obsession.
When you're passionate, everybody cheers you want.
They're stoked for you.
Oh, you found your passion?
Awesome.
Follow your passion.
Live with passion.
When you're obsessed, they're like, why you get to be so crazy?
Why do you always get things so perfect?
Why do you spend so much time in it?
When you're obsessed, people think you're nuts.
If no one thinks you're crazy, you're not yet operating to the outer limits of your potential.
Practice and practice and practice.
Practice makes what?
Practice makes improvement.
You can always better your best.
You can always go beyond anything that you have ever done.
You never had a state of perfection.
You're always bigger than what you do.
And so all you're looking for new breakthroughs through practice and practice and practice, you get better and better.
better and better.
Like waking up and being in the spirit of gratitude.
Right, and just being grateful.
Before we even start our day, just waking up with it on our mind.
Man, I'm grateful that I get the opportunity to do this this week, right?
It's almost that press and that perspective of, I don't have to do it.
I get to do it.
Right?
And so my challenge for us all is, as we start our days, as we do our work, as we carry on with our lives, let's do the press of gratitude more.
The press of being thankful more, right?
Like when we start something, even if it's opposition present, challenge is present, uncertainty present, man, let's tap into that spirit of gratitude.
Let's tap into that spirit of thankfulness.
Because you're not everything you could be and you know it.
What would happen if you just stop wasting the opportunities that are in front of you?
If you let people's perception of you dictate your behavior, you will never grow as person.
But if you leave yourself open to experience, despite what else think, then you will learn and grow.
So whatever it is you're trying to be, whatever it is you're trying to do, work on becoming the type of person that would actually have that.
Stop and ask yourself, what do these people do?
What are their habits?
What are the skills that they have?
What are the routines they follow and start to become that now?
And then the rest of life will start to materialize around you.
It's going to feel a little bit unfamiliar, uncomfortable.
And if you can relax into that, instead of going back to the past,
continuously invest in your future sooner or later,
it'll begin to become easier and easier and easier.
And all of a sudden, when you least expected, something amazing,
going to happen in your life and when that event begins to occur you're going to pay attention
to what you did inside of you now to produce the effect outside of you and that spawns human empowerment
and there isn't a person in the world that's excluded from this equation
visualization is one of the challenges and part of that is not just visualizing success or living
in the reality of achieving what you're setting out to achieve but also visualizing how you're going to
navigate all the obstacles that are going to get thrown in a new path.
No matter how much emotion and feeling you may have or how much hurt you may add,
life has to go on.
Because the people who go all in, the motherfuckers who burn the ships and leave themselves
no other option but success, those people are dedicated all their skills, all their resources,
all their energy into producing a specific outcome.
And if you're competing against someone who's going all in with every resource they have
and you're only going half in because you're half in and you're half fucking out, guess what?
You're going to lose.
So you guys out there with your plan B mentality, you need to take that shuple it up and send them on fucking fire
because all it's going to get you is more of what you already have.
When the situation on the moment does not go our way, because we all know what to do when it goes right.
But when God says no, who will you be?
But most importantly, who's watching you and who can be blessed by the opposition,
adversity, and a challenge that you're facing?
Now listen to him.
When you were younger, you had dreams.
but you you got married and had a couple kids and now you're like well that dream is dead
not necessarily not necessarily you're not done yet and you just may need to be a little bit
flexible and a little patient not now does not mean not ever uh and not this way does not mean
Not at all.
Don't give up on your dream.
And I made a promise to myself from that day that I was going to work that hard every single day
so that when I do retire, I have no regrets.
And that was the most important thing for me is to leave no stone unturn, get better every single day.
And if I live that way, then over time, you know, I'd have something that was beautiful.
That was my philosophy.
It seems like a pretty simple one, but, you know, if you wave your lives,
does just get better every single day and do that for 20 years?
When, what do you have?
Easy choices, hard life.
Hard choices, easy life.
The hard choices, what we most fear doing, asking, saying,
these are very often exactly what we most need to do.
it's okay to be unbalanced for a while it's okay don't be all this stuff people say you got to be
balanced to be the best in the world at what you do you have to be unbalanced to find every bit of
energy and strength that you have to pull it off then you get balanced once you become great
and it takes being in obsessed to where people think you're crazy y'all got to start loving your life
Be comfortable on who you are.
If you come from a family right now that's broke,
you got to your advantage.
I use that to my advantage that I was a high school drop out,
that I was homeless.
I love dealing with a dude who think,
because he comes from money, he better than me.
Let's go.
Let's go.
You got money, but do you got that dog?
When you can be happy in the midst of hardship,
and you see the true potential of the mind.
When you can't control what's happening,
control how you respond to it.
That's where your power is.
Control what you can control.
It's the rose quote
That most men live lives of quiet desperation
It's one of my favorite quotes ever
Because it's true
Snobgen that guy
You're just in this world
Where you just can't wait to just run away
That's the only way
You ever get where you want to go
You have to take a path
It's dangerous
And most people want to take the safe path
the safe path leaves you stuck in quiet desperation you start to become civilized the refrigerator gets full you start getting making money and you start i'm not getting cold anymore i'm retired because i'm not allowing myself to become civilized the worst thing that can happen to a man has become civilized you lose that in fact you you you lose that why the fuck am i doing it i'm good you ain't good man you ain't ever fucking a rob
And that's just my mentality. You may have more, but you've never been a ride. You want to be uncommon amongst uncommon people.
I can control my attitude. I can control my words. I can control my perspective. I can control the lens of which I see.
Because if I can control what I can control in the moment, what's happening externally is not going to affect and impact my true potential and my true advancement as a person.
These people that you're comparing yourself to, you don't really know.
You see their shiny outside, but you don't see the reality of their life.
People have hard lives, and the ideal that you're observing that makes you jealous and resentful
is in large part an illusion that's created by your own mind.
I'm talking about real commitment.
Not that cheap stuff, right?
Not that counterfeit stuff.
Not that if I get what I want stuff.
Not that low boy stuff
I'm talking concrete commitment
The commitment that says
Can I stay true to what I said I would do
Long after the move that I've said it has left
It's easy to say what you're going to do
When you're sitting in these pledge seats
It's AC and you got the words on the wall
Come to the realization very clearly
You got yourself stuck
So whatever you're doing
You have to do it like your life
Depends on it
Whatever time that you have, you have to attack like you're trying to save the world.
You're trying to save your life.
You don't want to drown.
You've got to go.
You've got to get after it.
And you've got to have discipline.
Most people don't have those things.
Most people don't understand what it's like to really go for something.
And to know that the consequences of not doing that are horrific.
Life isn't fair.
That's the reality.
And a good person in the wrong place, in the wrong time, can end up just a victim of fate.
But when those bad things happen to people around you,
What are you going to do?
How are you going to lead?
Are you going to fall over and fall down and fall apart?
Or are you going to lead?
The one way anything is accomplished.
You gotta work hard.
I can't remember what the fuck in this paragraph
that passed this test to get in the military.
Breathe again.
Still not getting it.
Breathe again.
Where it's not getting it, write it out.
And guess what happened?
I got it.
I can't swim.
I'm negative buoyant.
Go back again.
I can't swim.
Go back again.
Go back again.
Go back again.
I got it.
I realize if I keep going back and going back and going back,
your mind was safe.
Okay, we're going to figure it out because he is not going to stop.
If you search for something hard enough, you will convince yourself that you have found what you're searching for.
Do you know what happens the minute you were born?
You start to fucking die.
And as you grow up, time and gravity and the elements put a stress on your system.
And every day that you get up, there are forces working to wear you out.
This is just called life.
We have to constantly battle against the breakdown of our own strength, our own energy, and our own mental capacity.
And you know what I'm trying to say by telling you this?
I'm trying to tell you that being tired is part of the fucking game.
Okay?
So it's not a valid excuse.
It's normal.
It's a constant. It's part of being human.
And if you want to be a high achiever, guess well.
You're going to have to acclimate yourself to be in fucking tired way more than you're not tired.
Just imagine yourself from a year from now.
The future you from a year from now.
You just made these simple choice shifts, as I call it.
You start choosing your peace.
You start choosing your joy.
You start choosing you.
You start choosing your wife.
Above everything,
everything else will fall in the place.
Because the greatest feeling in the world, God,
the greatest feeling in the world is execution.
The greatest feeling in the world is doing what you said you were going to do.
There's no greater feeling.
in the world.
