What you have to do is to be steady in the storm. If you're steady, you are lasting. If you're steady, you are living. If you're not steady, it's only because you don't have the faith to believe
Starting point is 00:00:59 that there's something on the other side of it. Sometimes when you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried, but actually, you've been planted. What do you do when you've gotten? No, and you don't know where to go. You pause, and you wait. I stopped saying,
Starting point is 00:01:22 I've got to wait for good things to happen to me, and I said, I'm a ride. I'm going to fight. I'm going to work. I'm saying I've got to wait for good things to happen to me. And I said, I'm a ride. I'm going to fight. I'm going to work. I'm going to press toward. I'm going to learn. I'm going to do everything in my power every single day. I'm going to do everything in my power to become a victor and not a victim. There are people who come into your life sometimes to be there for a season. Sometimes we find ourselves hooked up with your life sometimes to be there for a season. Sometimes we find ourselves hooked up with people that we think are there for a lifetime, but they were only supposed to be there for a season. There are people who come in your life like boosters for a rocket. If you ever watch a rocket go into space, the boosters fall off when
Starting point is 00:01:57 it reaches a certain altitude. Some people are not equipped to handle the altitudes that you're going to. So don't be afraid when they fall off. They're not bad people. They just couldn't go where you're going. I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you can learn to appreciate them when they're right. And sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.
Starting point is 00:02:21 That's why you pissed off with money. Because money is the game that you're supposed to go mow and shape and create your greatness. That's why you pissed off with Monday because Monday is the day that you're supposed to go mold and shape and create your greatness. That's why you like Friday. I get it because Friday you get to chill. You don't have to face yourself on Friday. You don't have to face yourself on Saturday or on Sunday. That's the day that everybody is partying. Everybody's drunk. Everybody gets to forget that they didn't become who they were supposed to come during the week. That's why I get it now, but I challenge you. Most people aren't obsessed with their goals because they don't believe they're worthy of them.
Starting point is 00:02:51 It's easy to dream about what you want. We're all looking for this golden purpose. Is it this? Is it that? Is it making money? Because the purpose is you. Every fucking day I wake up, I don't want to do some fucking shit. You want to walk around all day knowing that you could, but you didn't. You have to learn how to get up and do shit. When you ain't got no 5K, no 10K, nothing, nothing exists.
Starting point is 00:03:13 Your life sucks. You're in the dungeon. But guess what? I'm still going to get it. There is no excuse for not living up to your fullest potential. No excuse. Winners win and losers lose. I can't explain it any better than that.
Starting point is 00:03:32 I don't know how it happens, but winners win. And if you create a culture of losing, if you keep being a victim, if you keep letting losing happen to you, if you keep letting people do you and treat you any kind of way, it's going to become a culture. You're suffering from self-doubt while others are intimidated by your full potential. If your past self could see where you're at today, think of how impressed they would be. One of the greatest ways you can overcome self-doubt
Starting point is 00:03:58 is to realize how far you've come. Maybe you're not exactly where you want to be, but you're a lot better than where you were. And the key is to wake up every single day, put one foot in front of the other, keep moving and keep growing. I understand that you are attracted to greatness because greatness is all in you, but it's easier to watch greatness. It's easier to go see greatness than it is to put in the time, to put in the energy, to discipline yourself, to sacrifice. It's easier.
Starting point is 00:04:28 And so that's why you average. And so you're frustrated because you're not living like you should live. Welcome to Daily Motivation, where you get motivated and inspired. Where you get to the next level of your life is keep going keep going keep running even when you don't even know if you get turns into chaos you cannot be great if you cannot operate in chaos whatever you hold in your mind will tend to occur in your life if you continue to believe as you have always believed you will continue to believe as you have always believed, you will continue to get what you have always gotten.
Starting point is 00:05:07 If you want different results in your life, all you have to do is change your mind. Listen to me, I'm here to shame you. And I'm here to shame you not because I want to hurt
Starting point is 00:05:20 your feelings, but I'm hoping to pull something out of you that's already in you, but you just haven't pulled it out of you that's already in you, but you just hadn't pulled it out yet. Get up and do what you're supposed to do. That's it. And that's discipline. That's not motivation. If you only did what you were supposed to do when you were motivated to do it, that's leaving it to chance. If you had the opportunity to play this game of
Starting point is 00:05:43 life, you need to appreciate every moment. A lot of people don't appreciate their moment until it's passed. Seize the day. The opportunities are there, but you've got to reach out and pick them up. You've got to grab at them. But grab them. Don't be afraid to make a mistake because you know what you can do if you grab the wrong one? Drop it and pick up another one. It's okay. Seek the day.
Starting point is 00:06:14 The hardest obstacle was myself. I started realizing more and more and more what was haunting me was me. The elite performers look at time and use time completely differently than the people who perform at an average level. You don't want to slow down. And you want to move with speed and certainty. That means people need to know what they're doing. First thing I want to tell you about people who win, who max out. They are in a much bigger hurry than the people who are average. And I'm not kidding you about people who win, who match out, they are in a much bigger hurry than the people who are average.
Starting point is 00:06:49 And I'm not kidding you when I say this. They're in a bigger hurry to get to their destination. You know, winners move at speed and certainty because they practice, they train, they educate. Their pace is faster. They walk faster. They talk faster. And their expectation when they're going to arrive at their destination is sooner. There's something to be said about how close you think you are to a goal and how fast you will run to get to the finish line. If you are surrounded by B players or average performers and that is your standard, then your mindset will operate at the standard that is offered to you by the people around you.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Do you have the guts to fail? If you don't fail, you're not even trying. To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did. Imagine you're on your deathbed and standing around your deathbed are the ghosts representing your unfulfilled potential the ghost of the ideas you never acted on the ghost of the talents you didn't use and they're standing around your bed angry disappointed and upset they say we came to you because you could have brought us to life they said and now we have to go to the grave together so i ask you today how many ghosts are going to be around your bed in your time You could have brought us to life, they said. And now we have to go to the grave together.
Starting point is 00:08:09 So I ask you today, how many ghosts are going to be around your bed when your time comes? If you take an oak tree seed and you put it in a two-foot pot, that seed will never become the oak tree that oak trees are capable of becoming because it's going to get stifled by the two foot pot. Now check this out. Ain't nothing wrong with the seed. The seed just fell prey to the environment. Don't you allow your environment to dictate the oak tree that you become. you have to find a dream that's so big that it overwhelms all of your fears and causes you to never give up when you're willing to fail again and again and again when you make up your mind to become unstoppable when you make up your mind to become a no matter what person then that will give birth to a part of
Starting point is 00:09:06 yourself that you don't know right now you have the vision you believe in the vision you are sure positive that if other people could see your vision they would be amazed if you quit whatever you're trying to accomplish, if you quit whatever you were trying to accomplish can never happen. There's not even a remote possibility. Quitting is guaranteed failure. Now when're trying, you're going to fail. Each of us can achieve far beyond our horizons and in avenues of life we have never explored. But most people settle in and accept things and life as it has been given to them.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Being successful is a mental condition. You can all mentally condition yourself to being successful. What I do tell people is to get after it. I tell people to do the things that they know they're supposed to do. There's things that you know you're supposed to do as a human being. Things that you know are going to improve your life. Do those things. There's things that you know are going to make you a worse person and make your life worse.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Don't do those things. There's things that you know are going to make you a worse person and make your life worse. Don't do those things. In order to achieve your goals, you must apply discipline and consistency. You have to work at it. Every day, you have to plan. Every day. Hard work works. Working really hard is what successful people do. I have dreams that are so big that not getting there is just unacceptable.
Starting point is 00:10:56 It doesn't make any sense for you not to have the life that you dream of. It does not make any sense. Listen, this is what I'm telling you. I'm telling you to dream your dream because I want you to fall in it. I want you to taste it. I want you to know how close. I want you, just like when the weather is changing,
Starting point is 00:11:15 you can feel it. I want you to be able to feel when you're getting closer to it and closer to it. But more importantly, I want you to know when you dream your dream that there are other people who are dreaming the exact same dream.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Get after it. That's it. Get up early. Do some kind of workout. Eat good foods. Clean your room. Make a list of things that you're supposed to do in your life. And then wake up in the morning and do those things.
Starting point is 00:11:37 That's what discipline is. And no, it is not easy. But you're not going to get it from anyone else but you. And it's worth it. And it is the thing that is going to bring you freedom. You got to be willing to work off of three hours of sleep, two hours. If you really want to be successful, some days you will have to stay up three days in a row. You can't get to the next level because every time somebody draws something in front of your face
Starting point is 00:12:05 You give up Don't you know you're more attractive When you can say no When they know you got value I found that nothing in life Is worthwhile Unless you take risks There is no passion to be found
Starting point is 00:12:22 Playing small And settling for a life that's less than the one you're capable of living. We're so stuck in this comfort zone and the comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there. We're so stuck where it's convenient. We're so stuck in this ritual where it feels good. And so when God tries to shake us up a little bit, the problem always happens before the miracle. The lessons always come before the blessings. And so when it's time to learn the lessons, Vinny, when you go through something,
Starting point is 00:12:50 you're going to learn some lessons, but it's not always easy to extract lessons from a bad situation. Get out of your damn bed. Get off your phone. Get out of the soft and addictive comfort zone and you need to go out there into the world and get after it. Your dream is the most important thing in this world. You got a dream about
Starting point is 00:13:20 something so big that it dwarfs all your fears. The way you overcome fear is with your dream. You got to make your dream so big that nothing matters except that dream. You're willing to do everything that's necessary. I was listening to Will Smith the other day. Will Smith said, the best things in life is on the other side of fear. It's on the other side of fear. But fear freezes people, man. The fear of failure freezes people. Suppose I don't do it. Well, you might not make it. But I got news for you.
Starting point is 00:13:52 If you don't do it, you damn sure ain't gonna make it. The very fact that you're alive, the very fact that you were born, the very fact that every morning your contract is renewed, is a vote of confidence that you are absolutely necessary, that you're indispensable, that you have within you everything you need to face any challenge. That doesn't mean we won't be challenged. Your gift will make room for you. Now, what is your gift?
Starting point is 00:14:19 It's the thing that you do the absolute best with the least amount of effort. That's your gift. Quit running away from the gift. Your gift will make room for you. Stop trying to be something you ain't gifted at. You have to understand if you don't execute on the plan, if you don't get up in the morning when you're feeling tired, scared, if you don't execute, you're not just cheating yourself.
Starting point is 00:14:42 You're cheating your family. You're cheating your employees. You're cheating your team. Whatever you're a your family you're cheating your employees you're cheating your team whatever you're a part of it's bigger than you man all failure is psychological this does not mean that you won't lose some balance because you will but it does mean that as long as you don't give up as long as you don't quit then you haven't failed it just means you've made a temporary tactical retreat means you've made a brief withdrawal so that you can regroup and re-attack don't die with this gift and don't never use it. All of y'all got this wonderful gift. But you got to use it.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Some of you are not successful. Because every single time you run up against a trial. Every time you run up against a tribulation. You stop. There is no getting around. Ain't no elevator to the top. You got to take the stance stop trying to do everything the short way stop trying to figure out the easy way you got to get messed up sometime
Starting point is 00:15:52 the elevator don't go to the top man not in the world of success you got to take the stance you got to understand that success you can't google. I want to talk to you today about the power of I am. What follows these two simple words will determine what kind of life you live. I am blessed. I am strong. I am healthy. Or I am slow. I am unattractive.
Starting point is 00:16:20 The I am's that are coming out of your mouth will bring either success or failure. All through the day, the power of I am is at work. We make a mistake. I am so clumsy. We look in the mirror. I am so old. We see somebody very talented. I am so average.
Starting point is 00:16:38 Many times we use the power of I am against us. We don't realize how it's affecting our future. Here's the principle what follows the I am will always come looking for you stop complaining and do me a favor if you want to make a difference all you got to do is one thing decide you get started you want some different listen to me all you got to do is make a decision that's it see when you begin to understand and acknowledge your fear and you go forth anyhow you go forth in a spirit and a knowing that there's a way that you can begin to handle this there's a way out here somewhere there's a solution
Starting point is 00:17:21 what it is that you're seeking that you have the capacity to whatever comes up to handle it to face it and rather than feeling powerless you begin to feel powerful don't half-ass it. Don't half-ass it. I mean, think about it. If you're going to do something, if you've chosen to do something, whatever it is, easy, hard, if you give it your all and you don't half-ass it,
Starting point is 00:17:56 win, lose, draw, get what you want, don't get what you want, whatever the outcome is, if you don't half-ass it, at least you're not going to have to wonder, oh, would the outcome have been different? What if I did give it my all? And boy, wondering that is what keeps us up at night.
Starting point is 00:18:16 You cannot be great being a lesser version of what already exists. You can only be great when you execute against your own potential and do your own development. And that means getting up there and looking like a clown. And it means taking little bitty steps forward every single opportunity you get. Life is 10% of what happened to you. It's 90% of what you do about it. You've got to stop tripping every time something happened to you like it's the end of the world. It ain't. Just change your mindset. If you want to be the best, you watch the best.
Starting point is 00:18:54 You look at the best. You watch them and you have their lifestyle. Don't be like this. Have their lifestyle. And it'll take you anywhere you want to go. That's the only way you ever get where you want to go. You have to take a path that's dangerous and most people want to take the safe path.
Starting point is 00:19:10 The safe path leaves you stuck in quiet desperation almost every time. It's hell. Motivation is a feeling that comes and goes and it doesn't matter whether it's there or not. Discipline is infinitely more important. So no matter how you feel, get up and do what you're supposed to do. That's it.
Starting point is 00:19:29 And that's discipline. It's not motivation. If you only did what you were supposed to do when you were motivated to do it, that's leaving it to chance. But if you're disciplined, you go do what you're supposed to do. That's the way it works. It's more important to own your weaknesses. We like to run away from weaknesses. Like for instance, if you're good at running, all you want to do is run. If you're great at reading,
Starting point is 00:19:56 you have several books, but we don't do those things that we're not good at. So for me, I realized, man, like I keep on running away from these things I'm not good at. I have to dive into these things. I have to become one with these things. Some of this long list of things I'm not good at, I have to dive into these things. I have to become one with these things. Some of this long list of things I don't want to do. And through that, I found myself. So I started seeing myself very differently than the average human being. I was like, hang on a second. I have something they don't have. And that's when I started to develop these things through working out. It was this great, never-ending work ethic. The more you put into anything in life, the more you're going to get out. Now, for whatever reason, people understand this. And they understand that the more you put into building a business, the more you're going to get out of it. The more hours you spend working on anything, the more you are going to get out.
Starting point is 00:20:49 Work pays. They print money. They don't print time. They don't print opportunities. You can lose money and get it back. You can't get time back. You can't get experiences back. Worship getting your time back with your family.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Average people focus on money. The great focus on time. Because I can't get my time back with your family. Average people focused on money. The great focused on time because I can't get my time back. Do you have the guts to fail? If you don't fail, you're not even trying. To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Don't give up. Don't let the world get you down. When it does get you down, get up and write what you want out of your life and don't f***ing stop. You know what I'm saying? There ain't no vacations. Only the people with credit cards that take vacations. You get up every f***ing day, you look in the mirror and you tell that mirror, I'm a bad motherf***er. And one way or another, I'm going to make this happen today do you believe that you're capable of change do you believe that good things happen
Starting point is 00:22:00 when you go through a process of learning and taking steps do you believe that you can actually get out of your patterns? What stands between us and where we want to go? It's always the story we tell ourselves and why we can achieve that. And, and if I wanted to boil it down, I would just say, what is your biggest why? And what's your biggest goal that you would love? If it was a year from now, when you're sitting here, you're watching this If it was a year from now, we were sitting here, you're watching this, it was a year later,
Starting point is 00:22:28 and it was the best year of your life, what would be the biggest thing that would have changed you? In order to have something different, you are going to have to do something different. In order to have something more, you have to do something you haven't done yet. That thing that you want, I guarantee you, you've convinced yourself that you're fine not having it. That's why you're not pushing yourself.
Starting point is 00:22:54 It's the areas in your life where you've given up, where you've said, oh, I'm fine. There is not one thing that has ever happened to you. Not one experience, not one encounter, not one crisis, not one joyful thing that hasn't happened just to make you better and help you rise. Be excited about your destiny so that you can endure the process that brings you into promise. Because there is a process before promise. And if you don't have at least a vision of the promise, the process will discourage you. There's a voice in you that has said, I can do this. I know others have failed.
Starting point is 00:23:49 You have to lose your fear of failure. Failure is part of the process. People who never fail, never try. You have to fail. You got to get it wrong to get it right. You learn nothing from winning. You only learn from your failures. I hate plan B.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Every thought that you put into plan B, you're taking away now that thought and that energy from plan A. My number one competition is me. It's always you versus you. You got to be the one to get up every morning, be disciplined, put in the consistent daily hard work because that gains success. No coach, no trainer, no mentor, no boss can do it. You versus you.
Starting point is 00:24:32 Sit on your bed one day and ask yourself, what remarkably stupid things am I doing on a regular basis to absolutely screw up my life? What would happen if you consulted yourself about the best possible outcome for you? I just beat me. This ain't about nobody else else i don't give a fuck about nobody else i just beat me i'm in a battle with the only person that i really want to fucking beat and that's me if i can continue to outdo me from the day before then i'm. Don't go around telling people what your story is. Everybody has a story. It doesn't matter about what happens to you. What matters is, what are you going to do about it? One of the things limiting you from your income,
Starting point is 00:25:16 your impact, a world-class life. You care too much about what people think about you. It is a neurobiological wiring. It served us neurobiological wiring. It served us thousands of years ago. We wanted to fit into the crowd because if we left the crowd or our social network, we would die of starvation
Starting point is 00:25:34 or we would be eaten by saber-toothed tigers. Now we're in the modern age and we are frightened. We are terrified. Our amygdala goes crazy. Cortisol, the fear hormone, starts to pulse through our system. If we leave the crowd, everyone has an opinion. Why let the opinions of other people deny you from a life that will make history? It's very important that you engage in an ongoing process to develop you.
Starting point is 00:26:02 Spend more time on yourself than what you've been spending. No matter what's going on in your life, it's not permanent. Everything is going to change. So there's two things you can do with change. You can react to it or you can participate in it.
Starting point is 00:26:18 If you don't want to make waves, be mediocre. Be normal and fit in. It is far easier not to be successful. Do you have the courage to act outwardly on what you see inwardly? Or will you die a dreamer? Will you die on the verge and on the edge and in the land of Kudah, Wudah, and Shudah? Stay with us. Even sometimes you don't really even know what you are. You got to take your shot. And as much as you want people to agree and you want the people around you to be supporting your dream, it's not going to be like that all the time. You got to do it alone. And people will help you.
Starting point is 00:28:25 When you get the ball rolling, people will jump on. But if you don't believe, nobody else is going to believe. People come along because your belief is so insane. Many of you, as I have been, as I am, are where you are in your life based upon what you believe. And it's not just what you think you believe on the surface. It's also your shadow beliefs that are holding you back from moving into the life that you believe you deserve. You have to believe you deserve to win.
Starting point is 00:28:58 And sometimes it's not just that we think we're good, but that we've done so much, we must be worthy of winning. And sometimes it's not just who we are that we need to believe in, but what we've done. That sometimes you've got to outwork everybody. And you've got to be willing to do the things nobody else is willing to do. So you begin to convince yourself, man, I'm doing all the things everybody else is unwilling to do. So I deserve to get the results other people aren't going to get. Take ownership. Take extreme ownership. Don't make excuses. Don't blame any other person or
Starting point is 00:29:35 any other thing. Get control of your ego. Don't hide your delicate pride from the truth. Take ownership of everything in your world, the good and the bad. Take ownership of your mistakes. Take ownership of your shortfalls. Take ownership of your problems. And then take ownership of the solutions that will get those problems solved. Take ownership and lead. Lead.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Following your dreams is a lonely, solitary, scary, dangerous pursuit. You can't wait for somebody to think you can do it. If you stay in your comfort zone, that's where you will fail. You will fail in your comfort zone. Success is not a comfortable procedure. It is a very uncomfortable thing to attempt. So you got to get comfortable being uncomfortable if you ever want to be successful.
Starting point is 00:30:42 Rich people don't sleep eight hours a day. That's a third of your life. You're never 24 hours in a day. You cannot be asleep eight hours a day. We celebrate warriors. We enjoy the winner. We're irritated and frustrated
Starting point is 00:30:59 with the whiner. Each of them have earned the title. But each of them have this thing in common. They earned the title based upon how they responded to struggle. How can we crown someone a champion unless we've seen them struggle and overcome to be a winner? How would we know the valor and courage of a warrior unless he's endured the adversity of the battle? How do you know what the wimp is until you see them put their faith in fear and ignore a problem hoping somebody else is going to solve it? In this life, there is going to be struggle and when they come what will you do?
Starting point is 00:31:45 What role will you play? Will you engage like the warrior? Will you complain like the whiner? Will you ignore it like the wimp? Or will you be what God created you to be which is the winner? You have to make sure that your dreams your aspirations
Starting point is 00:32:09 and goals are so big that not accomplishing them is not an option you have to want something so big that it wakes you up in the middle of the night you have to want something so big that you think about up in the middle of the night. You have to want something so big
Starting point is 00:32:26 that you think about it all the time. It makes you show up, do things you wouldn't normally do. It will be hard because life is hard. That's what life is. And these challenges, these challenges that you face, they're going to do their best to take you down. Do not let them. Don't waste your pain.
Starting point is 00:32:55 We all go through disappointments, setbacks, loss. Pain is a part of life. Pain is temporary. It may last for a minute or an hour or a day or even a year. The only way you're ever going to get to the other side of this journey is you have got to suffer to grow. To grow you must suffer. The key is what we do in our times of pain. Pain will change us. Heartache, loss, disappointments, they don't leave us the same. Now how the pain changes you is up to you. Really got to focus with all of your fiber and all your heart and all your creativity. You want to make your dream come true, you got to stay focused some people rather get even then get ahead stay focused on where you
Starting point is 00:33:47 want to go Stuff gets better if we work at it, and we stay focused on where we're going What I'm telling you is if you really want something bad enough, it's worth it It's worth it so start to feed yourself the worth question over and over and over again Not the cost question cost is a distraction worth is a focus mechanism. This is so worth it It's so worth it. It's so worth it focuses you cost distracts you So I want to challenge you today to make that shift of eliminating these distractions and elevating your level of focus What I want to remind you of is on the other side of that suffering,
Starting point is 00:34:26 on the other side of that sacrifice, on the other side of that laser focus, is your dream. Remember, only the disciplined are free in life. If you are indisciplined, you are a slave to your moods. You are a slave to your passions.. You are a slave to your passions.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Life's about self-discipline. We tend to do the things that are easy. Working out is where you can build that the fastest. It gives you instant feedback. Listen, getting successful, it's not a magic trick. If you keep doing what you've been doing, you're going you keep doing what you've been doing you're going to keep getting what you've been getting
Starting point is 00:35:08 the easy path it calls to us to be weak for that moment to break down for that moment to give in to the desire and the short term gratification but the discipline will not allow that the discipline calls for strength and fortitude and will it won't accept weakness it won't tolerate another breakdown the discipline can see like
Starting point is 00:35:40 it's your worst enemy if it was was easy, everybody would do it. I need you to wake up every day and say, today is the day for my day coming. And I will not give up. And I will not give in until I get to that day. I will not stop.
