What's your definition of greatness?
I think the definition of greatness is to inspire the people next to you.
I think that's what greatness is or should be.
It's not something that lives and dies with one person.
It's how can you inspire a person to then in turn inspire another person that then inspires another person.
And that's how you create something that I think lasts forever.
And I think that's our challenge as people is to figure out how our story can impact others and motivate them in a way to create their own greatness.
If you want to be the best of the best, you're going to be working flat out like 16 hours a day,
seven days a week, hopefully not exhausting yourself,
because you're in one hell of a competitive environment.
If you want to be great,
if you want to be the best motherfucker ever at what you do,
you're going to be misunderstood by everybody,
because you're going to be so fucking obsessed and so driven to get there.
That's what it takes.
That's the truth.
It takes every second of your life.
Anybody says balance?
Yeah, balance is important for a lot of people.
It is.
But if you want to go to that edge where people do not like you, don't understand you, question everything you can do, you've arrived.
When you are misunderstood to the point where people think you're psycho and you're nuts and you're this and that.
Why are you in the fucking gym at 1 o'clock in the fucking morning?
You just got through doing an op for 13, 14 hours.
At the ranger school, man.
At the gym.
What's wrong?
You will never understand what is wrong with me.
It's supposed to be hard.
If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it.
The hard is what makes it great.
I tell kids all the time, if you even have this much savage in you, everything out there is for the taking.
If you have even this much savage in you you if you are willing to go out there
and grind and work hard i mean my mind is a storm i don't think most people would want to be me they
may think they'd want to be me but they don't they don't know they don't understand see here's the
thing let the laughs the mockery the comments the jokes that they cracking on the text chain
whatever it is they're doing let that be the fuel to remind you
that what God is doing,
people are laughing,
and they're laughing because they're noticing.
If they're not laughing,
then you should be a little concerned
about what you're doing.
Yeah, just do things,
and if you like it,
you'll probably be better at that
than anything else you choose to do.
Because you will invest even your downtime doing it.
And as the saying goes, pick something you would do for free and make that your career.
And you'll never live a sad day in your life.
Pick something that you love.
Greatness is not meant for a few chosen people. It's meant for those who persistently pursue
their dreams every day and make that choice when they wake up. So just a mentality really.
Just because something is hard to obtain does not mean that it is valuable.
Just because something is hard to obtain doesn't mean
it's valuable. Correct. Yeah. Just because it's difficult to get doesn't mean that it's valuable.
Look at the car he's driving. Look at the watch he's wearing. Look at the girl he's with.
These things were hard to obtain. So you presume that they were valuable, but you didn't realize
that what's genuinely valuable are friendships and relationships and a comfort and a confidence
in yourself and peace of mind
and sanity and being able to positively impact the people around you when you're on your way up
everyone roots for you because you remind them of their dreams when you're at the top everyone
tears you down because you remind them that they gave up on them and you have one which is for
anyone who needs a reminder no one is going to hate on you for doing worse than them success
is the only revenge as you expand they shrink into irrelevance as you get louder no one can hear them
you don't beat them you cast a shadow so big no one can see them to begin with when people copy
they copy the wrong stuff because they don't know why it worked to begin with and when it breaks
they don't know how to fix it because they didn't build it so don't sweat it copycats will always be behind
what's the one thing that you couldn't stop thinking about if there's one thing that you
can't stop thinking about that story about the kid from cumbria that time when alex had to drive
across the country that's the thing that is the thing and allowing yourself to naturally select whatever the most
important learning is from the content that you consume is the best way to work out what what is
going to resonate and it's the best way to act on it as well if you can't stop thinking about it
when you go to bed tonight and you can't stop telling your friends about it in the morning
and you've clipped it from this podcast or any other podcast any other book or whatever whatever
the thing is that you keep sending photos of and you keep on reciting to
people and you try and tell your mom about and she doesn't care that is the thing that you need to
work on he should have killed me when he had the chance because now i'm back and i'm gonna kill you
and your whole team you want them kids anyway you can uh be great i at doing what you love to do, you got to commit to it.
You can't want something but not put in the work.
It doesn't matter what you're doing in life, no matter what it is.
It could be a professional athlete or it could be an artist.
It could be a doctor.
It could be anything in the world, a president of the United States.
But you got to put the work in.
And I think if you put the work in,
the results will happen organically.
And most important, you got to find happiness too.
You know, if you're having fun,
enjoying what you're doing,
you want to do it every day
because it's something that you really enjoy doing
and you don't look at it as work.
You don't know where you're going.
You're lost.
You know what I mean?
You have no direction.
So for me, I felt like both of them together,
when you really, when you have the vision and you're able to manifest,
but then you also put the work in, magic happens, man.
Magic.
That's where the magic is.
But a lot of people never get there, unfortunately.
We're blessed that we can dream.
I had to stop giving a f*** about people.
That was the biggest thing.
I had to stop caring what people thought about me.
I realized that everybody's f***ed up. That's the one thing. I had to stop caring what people thought about me. I realized that everybody's fucked up. That's the one thing I realized. I walked around and I put these people on a pedestal. Everybody that's talking to you about how jacked up you are,
only thing they've done better than you is they've hidden their f***ed up world better than you have.
Nietzsche said, I know of no better life purpose than to perish in attempting the great and
impossible. The fact that something seems impossible shouldn't be a reason to not pursue it.
That's exactly what makes it worth pursuing. Where would the courage and greatness be
if success was certain and there was no risk?
The only true failure is shrinking away from life's challenges.
So you want to be normal.
So you just want to be like everybody else that roams the world,
not knowing the power that's in them.
Being fine with being mediocre.
I'm going to go back to who you were a hundred.
I'm like that, man.
So it's bad.
There's got to see a whole bunch of people walking around out here.
We have no idea how talented they truly are.
Now I'm talking about talent, like some God-given ability.
Talent that sometimes you have to hold, you have to work on, you have to harness yourself.
And they just walk around on their phones, just clueless to how powerful they are.
As an actor, they asked each one of us what we wanted to do.
I said, I want to be the best actor in the world.
All the students in the classroom looked at me like I was a nut.
Life has taught me to just try and be the best that I can be.
And I thank the Academy for saying to me that on this given night, I was the best that I can be. And I thank the Academy for saying to me that on this given night,
I was the best that I could be.
What would have had to have happened in a week for you to look back on that week
with pride?
Okay, maybe stop breaking promises to yourself.
When you say,
I'm going to wake up tomorrow at 7 a.m.
and when the option comes to hit the snooze button,
don't do it.
There's one win that you've got for the day. That's action.
The path of the exceptional person is one of an exception, which means that you are not with
other people. And rather than fighting that or bemoaning it, see it as an indicator that you're on the right path.
Because if everyone else were cheering you on,
then it means you're not in the right place
because it means you're just like everyone else
and that's not where you want to be.
When you were born, you are a phenomenon.
You are unique.
Your DNA has never occurred in the history of the universe.
Going back billions of years, it will never occur in the future of the universe going back billions of years. It will
never occur in the future. Your life experiences with your parents and everything that you
experience in your early years going on up is unique. It's yours. You're one of a kind, right?
So that is your source of power. To waste that is just the worst thing you can do in your life. And what the power is, is finding that uniqueness.
What makes you you and how you can mine that, how you can go deep into it and use that to create a career path.
So just go and do it.
Try.
Learn from it.
You'll fail at some things.
That's a learning experience that you need so that you can take that on to the next experience and don't let people who you may
respect uh and who you believe know what they're talking about don't let them tell you it can't be
done because often they will tell you it can't be done and uh it's just because they don't have the
courage to try if you can see it here and you have the courage enough to speak it, it will happen. So I see these shots,
I see these sequences and I don't shy away from them. A lot of times people believe in certain
things but they keep to themselves. They don't put it out there. You truly believe in it. If you
become vocal with it, you are creating that law of attraction and it will become reality.
You're crazy until you're successful.
Then you're a genius.
And I think for a lot of people, when you're grinding as a small channel, people think you're too obsessed.
You're a weirdo.
Stop only making videos.
Get a life.
Be realistic.
People will convince you you're out of your mind for wanting to do this.
But then once you're successful, they're like,'re like yo your drive your tenacity was great but it's like yeah well
where was that back then you know I mean I didn't get that when I was a small channel
that most people want to do during that entire season of their life and they basically sacrifice
a season of other things that they would prefer to do to do stuff that they would not prefer to do because of the one thing they want most.
And that's the rocky cutscene.
And instead of lasting five minutes,
it just usually lasts five or ten years.
You're going to lose sleep.
You'll doubt whether it'll work.
You'll stress to make ends meet.
You won't finish your to-do list.
You'll wonder whether you made the right call
and have no way to know for years.
This is
what hard feels like, and that's okay. Everything worth doing is hard, and the more worth doing it
is, the harder it is. The greater the payoff, the greater the hardship. If it's hard, good.
It means no one else will do it. More for you. The greatest self-doubt I had
was when I showed up to SEAL training.
And I didn't know if I had what it
took to become a Navy SEAL.
But because of my teammates,
we made it through.
And that opened up my eyes
that
you, Julian,
everyone in this auditorium,
everyone watching, is capable of so much more than they think they are.
So when we showed up here, we all had our doubts.
But we knew we had each other, the support of our friends, our families, our teachers.
And that's why we're standing before you today.
You have to believe in one thing, and that is yourself.
And I'm not saying don't believe in God or what you believe in,
but right now, for you to find greatness in yourself,
you're not going to find it by looking in a book or by even hearing me.
I may give you the spark, but you've got to go inside yourself to find it.
And that means you've got to be quiet.
Search your soul.
Search your mind.
Search your abilities.
And you'll find it.
So you've got to go start your journey.
And the journey starts with you finding why the hell am I here on this planet Earth.
We did not come this far to just break down and lose now.
Everything's not always about winning and losing.
I'm a winner.
I'm going to win.
If you go the wrong direction,
your life will be then the consequences
of that bad choice.
And then that will tangle you up.
And then you'll suffer for it.
Then you have to figure out,
okay, what's the suffering?
What's the problem?
When did I make the bad choice?
Which road should have I taken?
That's how you fix a trauma.
About how you can get somewhere.
And how it looks.
It looks very ugly.
There's no f***ing passion.
There's no f***ing motivation.
There's no, oh my God, man.
I f***ing, this is, no. It's no, oh my God, man, I fucking, this is,
no. It's every day of your life, just do it. No passion, no discipline, no motivation. All these
words, I hate people. I hate that so many people fucking use these words now because it's watered.
It's someone sitting in a room by themselves and they figure themselves out and say, God, this is going to suck.
Where's passion when you're 300 pounds?
Where's the motivation when you can't read and write?
Where is it?
So how did this happen?
I just did.
I just did.
There's only one way to guarantee that you will have those.
Only one. And that is becoming so f***ing good at what you do, no matter what it is you do, that it is undeniable that other people recognize how great you are. But more importantly, without consistency, you'll never finish.
It's not easy.
Keep working.
Keep striving.
Never give up.
Fall down seven times.
Get up eight.
Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship. Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship.
Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship.
So keep moving, keep growing, keep learning.
See you at work.
How do I want to be remembered?
And that's the problem, man.
Like nowadays, people don't give a fuck how they're remembered. They don't give a fuck how they remember.
They don't give a fuck about their family.
Everybody's equal.
Their mom is equal to them.
Their dad's equal to them.
They're growing.
Everybody's equal.
So it's a tough question to ask because when I grew up,
my mom worked three jobs.
And all I wanted to do is she got her ass damn near murdered and it took her down a dark hole and I saw this and helps that helped me grow up and say all I want to do is retire my mother
when I get older that's all I want to but the thing about it with a lot of people they don't
have that in them the parents raise the kids very differently now so the they don't have that in them. The parents raise the kids
very differently now,
so the kids don't have that
sense of self.
I believe in self-discipline,
self-pride, self-motivation.
No one has that self anymore.
That self is gone.
So that driving force
that tells you,
I have to do this.
I took great pride in the fact that I was nobody
and what you just described
put goosebumps on me because that's exactly
what I took pride in
I'm going to make sure you're good
my mama tell you right now she's right there sitting
she knows I don't
buy myself I take great pride
in that I don't watch it
because how I'm wired I'm wired to hey mom She knows I don't buy myself. I take great pride in that. I don't watch it.
Because how I'm wired, I'm wired to, hey, mom, I'm going to get you this, this, this, and this.
My girl, everybody's got everything.
I don't even own a fucking car, and I'm a multimillionaire.
And I say that with pride.
But I didn't listen to those losers.
I didn't listen to them at all.
Everyone said no, no, no, and it can't be done. And then became governor of California. And this is with everything like that. This is just the
reality of it is that you cannot listen to the naysayers. So this is a very important lesson
for all of you. So when someone says no, this is a stupid idea. You in your mind, you don't have to say it, but in your mind, just say this. Fuck you.
What do you know?
We will be perfect in every aspect of the game.
You drop a pass, you run a mile.
You miss a blocking assignment, you run a mile.
You fumble the football,
and I will break my foot off in your John Brown hind parts.
And then you will run a mile.
Perfection.
Let's go to work. I give you the the map you are willing to do that yeah it's the main the main point because everyone wants to be christiano but
i give you the map you think you will do that it's difficult it's a discipline the discipline
is the most difficult thing not only in the sport, but in life. I think he understood
that. And, you know,
when I was 18, my first year,
he got the best of me a bunch of times.
I was right there the next
play. You're not intimidating me.
I'm not going anywhere. And I think he saw
that level of respect. Your trophies
are your family, and
they're all walking around. Every man that
sees you, they see you walking with some sweatpants and shit, but they know your family and they're all walking around every man that sees you they they see you walk
in with some sweatpants and but they know your family's balling because you put the time in
you put the effort in you put the work in and as a man we don't want none of that we just want
respect put your head down it's work harder that's the answer to all the problems work harder
if you feel like things ain't going your way if you feel like you know you're not executing to
the best of your ability work harder and be smarter about it you know what i'm saying just
not everyone gets a trophy in here bro you know what i'm saying the world doesn't doesn't owe you
nothing and people shouldn't feel sorry for you you gotta you know as a as an individual i want
that wants to be successful you gotta be the person that takes matters into your own hands and go get it, period.
I'm already working all of the hours that I'm awake,
and I've already given up Saturdays. So the only thing that I have left is Sundays and evenings.
And so I am no longer going to be watching any football,
and I'm no longer going to have Netflix at all.
And that is what I'm giving up for 7, 8, 9, 10.
You can bet against me.
Bet against me.
Tell me it's not going to happen.
Tell me it's going to fail.
I love it.
I love every minute of it.
I found out.
I'm unbeatable.
I can't be beaten.
It's impossible.
You condemn me. You can damage me.. It's impossible. You condemn me.
You can damage me.
You're never ever going to beat me.
I'm totally and completely
unequivocally unbeatable.
I tell kids all the time,
if you even have this much savage in you,
everything out there is for the taking.
If you have even this much savage in you, if you are willing to go out there and grind and work hard I
think my main strength it's my mind I think it's my strongest point it's my
mind. The numbers they don't lie if you see during the last 15 years my level is always kind of the same so
effort dedication work hard because the talent is not enough anymore and if you don't dedicate
it under percent you're not gonna reach the level that you want people only root for people who don't need it. Like the amount of times when I was
on my lonely path where I was too different from the friends that I had but not successful enough
to be friends with the people that I wanted to be friends with. I don't respect a whole bunch of
people but the few that I did respect are the people who were uncommon amongst uncommon people
and what that means is those people who weren't afraid to stand respect are the people who were uncommon amongst uncommon people.
And what that means is those people who weren't afraid to stand alone.
Those people who have morals, values, who did not go with.
If all you guys are going left, it's that one person who say, you know what?
Left's not the right way.
I'm going to go right.
Who didn't follow the crowd.
That person who's not afraid of doing what they believe is right in their heart and not following someone else but like people who stand for something they believe in something and this
is the way i'm going to go whether you like me or not and that's what it's about it's supposed
to be hard if it wasn't hard everyone would do it the hard is what makes it great.
We're built to walk uphill.
And when you reach the pinnacle of the hill,
you want to stop and appreciate the vision,
but the next thing you want is a higher hill in the distance because it's the uphill climb that,
it's from the uphill climb that we derive our value.
And I mean this technically.
So almost all the positive
emotion we feel especially the emotion that fills us with enthusiasm and that's to be filled with
the spirit of god by the way because that's what enthusiasm means that's experienced in relationship
to a goal you want a goal that you can never attain right so you can always move closer to
the goal that recedes as you move towards it.
You think, well, that's frustrating.
It's like Sisyphus pushing the rock uphill.
But it's not because as you pursue that goal, you put yourself together and your life does
get better and richer and more abundant.
That's why the highest levels of virtue and goal are in some sense transcendent.
You want them to be above everything
you're doing so you can continually move towards something that's more sublime and better.
That's what you are. You're here to live, not to sleep. Reminder that if you want to be exceptional,
you're going to be different from everyone else. That's what makes you exceptional.
You can't fit in and also be exceptional. Both have discomfort.
When you fit in, you have internal conflict because you're not being 100% you. When you're
exceptional, you have external conflict because everyone sees you as different. Pick one. When
your friends start to say you've changed, remember it's because they don't know how to say, you've grown. So if you're ambitious, channeling that energy into becoming the best and beating the competition is a productive way of using that dark energy.
If you feel angry about a cause or something that pisses you off about the world and some injustices, instead of whining about it etc you go out and you do something you do
something you get involved in a movement or whatever you channel that energy into something
productive you can't go throughout life imagining that you're the same because you're not you have
these qualities i was going to rip his heart out i'm the best ever i'm the most brutal and
vicious and most ruthless champion there's ever been. There's no one who can stop me.
Lynx is a conqueror. No, I'm Alexander. He's no Alexander.
I'm the best ever. There's never been anybody as ruthless.
I'm Sonny Liston. I'm Jack Dempsey. There's no one like me.
I'm from Nairclaw. There's no one that can match me.
My style is impetuous. My defense is impregnable.
And I'm just ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat your children.
Praise be to Allah.
Every time I sit in an interview, it's, oh, why are you here?
You've too much money, you're too successful, you've done it all, blah, blah, blah.
You know, in the last fight, I kind of bought into that.
You know, I was in the press conference and a guy was reading out a quote of mine from many years ago
where I was like, you know, talking about, I can't wait, I'm going to put my mother in a mansion,
I'm going to, you know, my girlfriend's going's gonna have a car for every day of the week and
you know I was feeling into that wow I did all this you know I'm not even I'm
where I am I'm grateful I'm proud of where I am and what I've achieved but
there's a lot more left in me I'm still very young I'm very fresh in the game
and I'm a dangerous man Steven I'm the most dangerous of them all so I'm gonna
prove how dangerous I am because trust me in the mindset I mean I'm a dangerous man, Steven. I'm the most dangerous of them all. So I'm gonna prove how dangerous I am because trust me, in the mindset I'm in, I'm really,
really dangerous.
This man is not, it's not gonna be pretty what's gonna happen to this man in here.
If you had the opportunity to play this game of life, you need to appreciate every moment.
A lot of people don't appreciate their moment until it's passed.
Everybody asked me the question.
They wanted to know,
I knew he was going to wow out.
I knew he was going to do something crazy.
Everybody wanted to know what I would do if I didn't win.
I guess we'll never know.
Here's the deal, man.
When you're pushing to be better, when you're trying to progress your life, when you're trying to improve your situation, it is always going to feel like a struggle. It's always going to feel extra hard and you're always going to feel like you're fucking it up. That is the nature of what it feels like to push into new territory, to expand your personal
boundaries.
So what's happening to you, bro, is that you are out here hustling as hard as you can.
You're doing these multiple jobs.
You're trying to keep everybody happy and you're not used to it yet.
You haven't acclimated to it yet, so it feels overwhelming, and you don't know if you're doing
it right, and you probably haven't done it long enough for it to really bear fruit. So you're
like, I'm doing all this work, I'm trying hard, this is so hard, this is chaos, and nothing's
happening, so I must be doing it wrong. And that's not reality. Okay.
You have to understand just like if you were going to get into a cold swimming pool,
when you first jump in there, it's cold and you jump out of the water and you're like, Oh,
you can't breathe. And then after a few minutes, it's normal. You can't, you don't even notice it.
All right. And so what you're going through
is the acclimation process to expanding the boundaries in your life. You have to suffer.
You have to make that a tattoo on your brain. So when that hard time comes again, you don't forget
it. You may forget it for a second, but you can go back in the cookie jar, I call it.
It's something that we've all endured.
I call it the cookie jar.
We often forget how hard we are,
but you got to reflect back.
Take a couple seconds to reflect.
I've been through this.
I've been through that.
And then remind yourself,
I'm a bad motherfucker.
And then you can get through that.
But if you don't believe it,
you haven't endured shit,
you're just blowing smoke, man. And you're not going to get through anything't endured it, you're just blown with smoke, man.
And you're not going to get through anything.
Or the next thing, or the next thing, or the next thing.
We're going to be still competing with people who are focusing all of their energy on that thing.
And if we take our energy off of that thing and they keep theirs on that thing,
it would be an arrogant assumption to assume that we can beat them with less than all of our energy.
You understand?
So you cannot make the mistake of assuming that you are better than the other guy.
Because if the other guy, even if he's less skilled than you, and he puts all his energy in, and you're only putting 80% in, that guy can beat you.
That's the reality of competition.
All right? So it's not about what's the distraction or what's the
opportunity it's that you haven't exercised fulfilled your your original opportunity to
begin with which is why you're struggling and looking for other opportunities i mean
opportunities will come to you every day it's either for you you can remain scared of the
opportunities or you can embrace them and take them. But I finally realized that, and I want to share this with you,
if you give up on your dreams, if you give up on your dreams,
what do you have left?
Nothing.
I can't live that way.
I can't live that way.
I have to live on the edge.
That's why I'm in this business.
It's never been about the money.
It's always been about the love of the game and the energy I gained from it. That's really,
you know, when it's about the money, you get in trouble. It is befitting that I leave the game
just like I came in, beating a big, bad monster who knocks out everybody and no one can whoop him.
And you, George Fullman, all of you chumps are going to bow
when I whoop him.
All of you.
I know you got him.
I know you got him picked,
but the man's in trouble.
I'm going to show you how great I am.
The difference between successful people
and non-successful people is here.
I'm no better than none of y'all.
I'm not a better person than you.
I'm not a better Christian than you. I'm not a better Christian than you.
God don't love me more than you. None of that. If you want to be successful, you have to change
this. This has to change. Listen to me. It's not what makes it hard. It's your lack of belief that it can happen for you.
The fact of it is, though, it's very doable.
See, but you got to change, though.
If you keep doing what you've been doing, you're going to keep getting what you've been getting.
Your dreams have to be bigger than all your fears.
See, that's why you have to have big dreams.
Because your dreams have to be bigger than all your fears
and all your consequences.
What makes people go back is you dream too small.
See, your problem in life ain't if you aim too high and you miss it.
Your problem in life is if you aim too low and you hit it.
That's when you messed up now. So when you aim
to the moon and you miss, you're still amongst the stars. So it kind of keeps you motivated
a lot longer, man, to help you push through because everybody's going to have to have a
push through moment. Be a bush if you can't be a tree. If you can't be a highway,
just be a trail. If you can't be the sun, be a star. For it isn't by size that you win or you
fail. Be the best of whatever you are. You must have as a basic principle the determination to achieve excellence
in your various fields of endeavor.
You're going to be deciding
as the days and the years unfold
what you will do in life,
what your life's work will be.
And once you discover
what it will be, set out to do it
and to do it well.
Look me in the eye.
It's okay if you're scared.
So am I.
But we're scared for different reasons.
I'm scared of what I won't become.
And you're scared of what I could become.
Look at me.
I won't let myself end where I started.
I won't let myself finish where I began.
I know what is within me.
Even if you can't see it yet look me in the eyes
i have something more important than courage i have patience i will become what i know i am
so it's god just passed me he said god just be average today some of you just don't understand
some of you've been average for so damn long you don't know what it is to do hard work
but there's a lot of you out there who want to be much more than average
but just don't know how to do it every single day to grind. He defines it when the oil goes gears up.
So check it out.
This is a mindset.
Maybe it's true, maybe it's not.
But this out there,
who wants what you have?
Who wants the position you are?
Who wants the job you have?
Who wants the wife that you have?
Or the husband?
There's someone out there hungry
and wants everything you can have maybe it's true maybe it's not but if it is
it's gonna be your ass so make that a motivation for you stay hard some people it's attractive and
they go i want to do that too like you seem pretty happy despite all the stress you're under like how are you doing that and i'll tell people that because i create my own book and my
own book it's way harder than whatever i'm facing in the world and that's how i mitigate the stress
of success and pressure and criticism and all that stuff like i do to myself way worse than
they're ever going to do to me so that's that how I mitigate it. Also, I calm my body.
I calm my body through, I calm my mind through calming my body.
And I calm my body through work.
I make it work.
And I make myself do things that are very uncomfortable, that I don't want to do.
And by doing that, I develop this strength and perseverance.
And some people hear that and they're like, I don't even want to do that.
You're exhausting. I'm like, I'm'm like i don't even want to do that you're exhausting like i'm not you i don't do that and they just like it takes them away from that and i'm like you don't even have to do that just go for a walk every day
it sounds like it's easy to do but you're just gonna when that walk comes and look your clock
oh it's eight o'clock time to go for that walk like i don't want to walk i was just
about to play video games i don't want to walk i'd rather like read emails i don't want to walk
i'd rather like just scroll through tiktok but if you just force yourself to go for that walk
every day you will develop mental perseverance you will develop some tenacity you develop the
ability to force yourself into work it doesn't have to to be grueling just has to be a thing that you have to do or it's it's when you get fired from your fifth job
you know when your wife and kids are on your ass so you don't have support anymore there comes a
day where push comes to shove where being mediocre being like average and just burns it sucks so much
you can't feel it one more day and you get off your fucking ass
and you create something
that's always been there.
It's always been inside of you
trying to come out.
But you've never wanted to unwrap it
because there's too much
fucking pain and commitment.
You were scared you were going to fail.
You were scared if you started
you'd never finish it.
You didn't want to tell anyone about it.
You knew it was there
but you never wanted to embark on it.
Until something fucking hits.
You get fired or somebody else gets success to remind you what you could have been.
And then that fucking spark is born.
And no matter what happens, I'm never going to be in this boat again.
And you get up and you go, even if it gets knocked down, you just keep going, keep going.
You're a wild man.
And life has never been so sweet
That can happen at an early age. It can happen at a later age
It's going to happen to somebody every you know, no matter what's going to happen to you
And when it does happen to you, thank your lucky stars that finally you're alive
It's time to unwrap the potential you can be
Superior man, It's within you. It's within every single one of us. And the
people that have risen to that level were no different than any one of us. It's just
they believed it and they were willing to work their ass off to get it. It wasn't about
the potential. It wasn't about the genetics. It was about the perseverance.
And it wasn't about being the hardest gym worker in the room.
Do you ever have a day where you just think,
okay, I can't be asked to do anything.
I'm not going for a run.
I'm not stretching.
I'm doing nothing.
Every day.
Yeah.
You say you have the thought, but you don't have the day.
Every day.
Do you ever let yourself have a day where you just watch Netflix?
Never.
Because you got shit on Netflix.
I'm hard to shit on. No, Iflix i'm haunted no i can't do it i can't do it there may be some days i get up with poopy pants and i'm like you know what man this man like what am i training for yeah i have no race in the docket
why am i having this this such a structured life why and i like, you know what? I'm good. I'm done. I retire every day.
I'm done with it. And I sit around and say, okay. And then this is my thought process.
So you want to be normal. So you just want to be like everybody else that roams the world,
not knowing the power that's in them. Being fine with being mediocre. You want to go back to who
you were, huh, David?
Like, fuck that, man.
And you have that conversation with yourself every day?
Not every day.
It's those bad days.
It's those bad days.
I see a whole bunch of people walking around out here.
We have no idea how talented they truly are.
And I'm talking about talent, like some God-given ability.
Talent that sometimes you have to hone.
You have to work on,
you have to harness yourself.
And they just walk around on their phones,
just clueless to how powerful they are.
Everybody's asleep, man.
We're just getting home after a long night.
Going out to the party.
It's Friday night.
It's close to 3 in the morning right now.
You know, the thing is, man, it's always going to be a party.
It's always going to be a time to celebrate and a time to join friends or a date.
I mean, the bars are always open.
Always open.
No matter how old you are, they're always open, you know?
When it's not always open,
there's the opportunity to check the box in life, you know, achieve your dreams.
That's not always open.
And it's funny, like, you know, I'm not saying you do it all the time and everything else because everyone needs a release in life.
But it's funny when you're coming here and you're closing the gym up and there's nowhere in the parking lot except for my car and uh everyone else probably
getting home from some party right now because bars are closed right now too um you know they're
probably going to sleep and they're probably going to wake up and apologize to somebody for
however way they act because that's not who they really are they're chemically induced to be a
certain way to have the social lubricants or be able to talk to be liked and say to take something
in order to be that guy just like people that do steroids whatever else i had to take this to be
all that you know but who i am as an individual isn't quite good enough that's why i need to take
something and become somebody else you know it's a sad reality coming here at night and you know i
don't know what it is about it man but like man it's just the air smells a little bit better right now
you know when you when you say you're gonna do something and then you follow through and you do
it not not not at the end when you you know you cross the marathon you finish it or or your hands
raised i'm talking about right now the small steps in between the big successes everyone sees
if you're going to try go all the way otherwise don't even. If you're going to try, go all the way.
Otherwise, don't even start. If you're going to try, go all the way. This can mean losing
girlfriends, wives, relatives, jobs, and maybe your mind. Go all the way. It can mean not eating
for three or four days. It can mean freezing on a park bench. It can mean jail. It can mean derision, mockery,
isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you
really want to do it. And you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds, and it'll be better
than anything you can imagine. If you're going to try, go all the way.
There's no other feeling like that.
You'll be alone with the gods.
The knights will flame with fire.
Do it.
Do it.
All the way.
All the way.
You will ride life straight to perfect laughter.
It's the only good fight there is.
The minute that you understand that you can poke life and actually something will, you know, if you push in,
something will pop out the other side,
that you can change and you can mold it.
I needed to take a second
and I wanted to apologize to anybody that I might have let down last night.
This is kind of hard to understand, but
sometimes you can try so hard at something.
Sometimes you can be so prepared
and still fail.
And when every time you fail,
it's painful.
It causes sadness.
And especially as I saw last night, it causes disappointment.
So no matter how great the setback,
how severe the failure,
you never give up.
You never give up.
You pick yourself up.
You brush yourself off.
You push forward.
You move on.
You adapt.
You overcome.
That is what I believe.
And that was the most important thing for me is to leave no stone unturned, get better
every single day.
And if I lived that way, then over time, you know, I'd have something that was beautiful.
That was my philosophy.
It seems like a pretty simple one, but you know, if you live your life to just get better every single day,
and you do that for 20 years, what do you have?
People say you have to have a lot of passion for what you're doing, and it's totally true.
And the reason is because it's so hard that if you don't, any rational person would give up.
It's really hard, and you have to do it over a sustained period of time.
So if you don't love it,
if you're not having fun doing it,
you don't really love it,
you're going to give up.
And that's what happens to most people, actually.
If you really look at the ones that ended up,
you know, being successful, unquote,
in the eyes of society and the ones that didn't,
oftentimes it's the ones that were successful
loved what they did so they could persevere when it got really tough. And the ones that didn't. Oftentimes, it's the ones that were successful loved what they did so they could persevere when it got really tough. And the ones that didn't love it quit because they're sane.
Who would want to put up with this stuff if you don't love it? So it's a lot of hard work,
and it's a lot of worrying constantly. And if you don't love it, you're going to fail.
So you've got to love it.
You've got to have passion.
And I think that's the high order bit.
Most people never pick up the phone and call.
Most people never ask.
And that's what separates sometimes the people that do things from the people that just dream about them.
You've got to act.
And you've got to be willing to fail.
You've got to be willing to crash and burn.
You know, with people on the phone, with starting
a company, with whatever. If you're afraid
of failing, you won't get very far.
Get back to work.
It's time to get back to work.
Stop hearing yourself talk.
Get off the podcast.
Don't be on social media too much.
Cut out all the noise. Get back
to the mental lab because that's
where the knowledge came from.
So for me, I must cap myself so I can come back with better, more unique knowledge.
Versus all that cookie cutter knowledge that's out there.
That's why people buy the books I have.
Because it's not cookie cutter.
It's real knowledge.
When things are going well, be calm.
Don't think you're on top of the world in a sense.
You always got to be wary because I've seen it.
I've seen people come.
I've seen people go.
I've seen them come.
I've seen them just, it's very, very important
not to overextend yourself when you think you've got to.
There's no such thing.
Everybody's dispensable.
See, the point is,
you don't know how much future you've got.
What's gone is gone.
There's absolutely nothing you can do about it.
Some of you have had divorces.
Some of you have probably had bankruptcies.
Some of you have had terrible things happen in the past.
But what's gone is gone.
It's in the past. But what's gone is gone. It's in the past.
And to spend your time focusing on the past
is to spend
the only thing that you've got
and that's what's right here, right now
because the sand never stops running.
This is all we've got.
And to spend your time now
thinking of what happened there
is making absolute certain that the future is going to be the same as the past.
I don't suppose many of us spend a lot of time thinking about that.
A lot of us spend a lot of time making that error.
All you got is now.
A lot of times I think you can't really learn lessons without pain.
Like these things are going to happen.
And so.
Unideal things constantly happen.
And they're going to.
And you're also going to make a bunch of mistakes in life.
And you're going to do stupid things.
And it's because either you didn't know or that was the example you had.
It doesn't mean that you're broken.
You're not broken.
You're just going through things and you have to evolve.
And a lot of times that evolution has pain in it.
And a lot of mistakes that sometimes you're even ashamed of.
I fail to be at the pinnacle of any game.
In any, whatever you do, you've got to be a little bit gone to it.
You're not all there.
You've got to be almost insane to your craft.
Not a lot of people can understand that.
That's why I don't know about nothing else.
I do not pay attention to nothing else.
There was games of football on yesterday,
there was rugby, there was this, there was that.
And like normal society is like,
let's talk about this,
let's engage in this,
and I just don't, I can't do it, I just don't, I'm...
People are talking to me
and in my head I'm counting something.
I'm counting up a number.
Or I'm knee deep in a sequence
on the mat, or on the feet
That's my life sequences and numbers nothing else. I cannot pay attention to nothing else
He was like the only thing that you can do is win so big
That all of them constantly compare themselves to you and then you'll forget they exist
And he's and that's when he said he said success is the only revenge. He's like, it's not the best
revenge. He's like, it's the only one. There's no other revenge because everything else is petty.
Everything else does show that you were thinking about these people all day long, which means they
win by default. He's like, all you can do is think about your goal and winning. He's like, and when
you win, that's when you become so big that they shrink into irrelevance. You cast a shadow that no one even can see them behind you.
My philosophy is, why be normal when you can be the best?
I don't want to be normal.
I want to make the difference.
So everything I do, I want to make the difference.
Because when I make the difference, I'm the best.
And that is not arrogance.
That is confidence for me.
Because in the early days, hard was, ooh, stop.
This isn't good. I should, I should, this is a warning sign.
This is a red flag. I should slow down or I should stop.
You know, I should pivot.
But the more I think about it as a competitive landscape,
as I'm clear on what this path is supposed to look like,
and these rocks and these dragons are things that I'm going to have to slay along the way
to get the princess or get the treasure.
I get happier about the harder it is because I know that no one else will follow.
And I think if you can shift from this is hard to no one else will be able to do this,
then it flips from being this thing that you're like, oh, poor me,
to oh, poor everyone else who's going to have to fucking try.
And I think that is so much more
motivating as a frame for the exact same circumstance when your friends start to say
you've changed it's because they don't know how to say you've grown there's a quote that I've
fallen in love with the magic you are looking for is in the work you're avoiding yeah f*** dude the
magic you are looking for is in the work you're avoiding Well greatness is when you make your
Delusions your reality
Okay
You know
Something that's just totally unbelievable
To the human's imagination
And you make it your slave
Alright
Nothing's impossible for somebody who's gonna try
If you're gonna try it's capable of being done
It's not for somebody who's going to try. If you're going to try, it's capable of being done.
It's not about the shoes.
It's about knowing where you're going.
Not forgetting where you started.
It's about having the courage to fail.
Not breaking when you're broken. taking everything you've been given
and making something better
it's about worth
before glory
and what's inside of you
it's doing what they say you can't.
It's not about the shoes.
It's about what you do in them.
It's about being
who you were born to be.
As the saying goes,
be kind for everyone you meet
is fighting a battle
you know nothing about.
Yeah, that's true.
What's something difficult
you're going through
that people don't often see? I my mind is a storm and i don't think i don't think most people
would want to be me they may think they'd want to be me but they don't they don't know they don't
understand and so like i used to tell this when i was selling weight loss to people i'd say like
who cares if you get in shape for six weeks out of 80 years And like the brightest they're about to sign up for a member
So it's like you want to set and then this is how I would sell longer memberships
But like it's also true. It's like you want to sign up for the six weeks, but like
Susan
Like who cares if you lose 20 pounds and you're still overweight six weeks from now and then you gain it back the next six weeks
And you're still the exact same weight for the rest of your life
And so I just I think the absolute dedication to maxim. So that becomes a part of your identity and your
character has been one of the outsized returns that I've gotten in my life. List all the things
that you aren't willing to give up for the dreams that you have. And that is what the person who
will beat you is willing to give up. From the social group that I had before I quit my job, if we're going all the way like ground zero to today,
I talked to no one from that time in my life compared to today.
And I was absolutely miserable and unhappy and unfulfilled.
And I would say that the majority of those people probably don't like me today
because I changed.
I didn't do what I was supposed to do.
He thinks he's so fancy now,
et cetera,
et cetera. And I think I'm just okay with that. And so I think coming to terms with
the idea that I could be absolutely rejected by everyone I know, but like me, I was more okay with
that because the alternative was I didn't want to live anymore. That's what I'm sacrificing.
I see a lot of players take vacations with other players that are close friends.
And they'll just take vacations just to take vacations or just hang out, just to hang out.
Like, I'm not, I never did that.
Why not?
Why didn't you do that?
Well, because when I retire, I didn't want to have to say, I wish I would have done more The only thing I would change is that time when I was in there
doing that squat
I could have done at least 6
but that's the only regret that I have now
That you didn't do more reps?
I fell in love with an essay
from Jason Pargin where he said
accept that all of your heroes are full of shit
your heroes aren't gods
they're just regular people
who got good at one thing
by sacrificing literally everything else.
There's no one in the parking lot except for my car.
And everyone else is probably getting home from some party right now
because bars are closed right now too.
You know, they're probably going to sleep
and they're probably going to wake up and apologize to somebody
for however way they acted because that's not who they really are.
They're chemically induced to be a certain way, have the social lubricants
or be able to talk to be liked instead of take something or be that guy.
It's like people that do steroids, whatever else.
I have to take this to be all that, you know.
But who I am as an individual isn't quite good enough.
That's why I need to take something and become somebody else.
You know, it's a sad reality.
Coming here at night and, you know, I don't know what it is about it, man.
But like, man, it's just the air smells a little bit better right now.
You know, when you say you're going to do something and then you follow through and you do it.
Not at the end when you cross the marathon, you finish it or your hands raise.
I'm talking about right now.
The small steps in between the big successes everyone sees no one sees this right now i'm saying like
there's a confidence to it man there's this there's a bad motherfucker that's right here
you know that it's getting ahead of the competition. There's an overwhelming sense of fulfillment and pride and satisfaction with that.
2017, I sacrificed everything.
And the same thing in 2018.
There was so much sacrifice.
I really didn't have a social life in 2018.
And it got to a point.
I remember back at the beginning of 2019, I was in Bali.
And one of my best friends was visiting me.
My mom was visiting me.
And I was there with my ex-girlfriend as well as my old personal trainer.
And the four of them almost sat me down and had an ultimatum.
They're like, you're not there.
Like, you're not here with us.
And the biggest thing was sacrifice.
Like, sacrifice to the point where business was all I thought about 24-7.
And, you know, I've since then in 2020 and 2021 and, you know, also the second half of 2019, I've realized, you know, you don't need to.
I've realized that working harder or thinking about something 24-7 isn't actually going to get you anywhere closer to your goal.
A lot of times it's those moments of those meditative moments when you're in the steam room, you're in the sauna, where you're meditating, where you're walking, but without music or without texting anyone.
And that's really where those flashes of brilliance come to you but all of this is to say sacrifice in your 20s i think
your 20s honestly are for sacrifice so we also you know if you sacrifice up until you're 27
you still have many many good years to go out there have a good dating life meet a bunch of
very interesting people and you know if you can sacrifice those early 20s, it really does set
you up for the rest of your life. How could I make things better? It's something like that.
And that's like, what sacrifices do I need to make in order to make things better?
That's a good question to ask yourself. You could ask yourself that every morning.
What sacrifice do I have to make to make things better? You can decide what constitutes better.
How about that?
Then it's not even as if it's being imposed on you.
Come up with your own notion of what constitutes better.
You know, try to make it sophisticated.
It shouldn't just be better for you,
because that isn't going to work very well, right?
You're just going to fall downstairs if you do that,
because you have to live with other people.
And besides, it's stupid anyways.
What are you going to do?
There's nothing you can even say about that.
That's the attitude of a very badly behaved,
hyper-aggressive two-year-old.
And I mean that technically.
And so you could ask yourself,
well, I have this day that lays itself out in front of me.
What thing could I let go of that's impeding my progress
that if I let go of would make my life better,
my family's life better, my culture's life better,
my being better?
And then that would give you something to do for the day, wouldn't it?
To justify your miserable life.
You do have the sense of yourself as something that
stretches across the decades. Okay, and so what that means is that you have to conduct yourself
in a manner that isn't merely immediate. You have to conduct yourself in a manner that will work
across time. Now, how do people do that? They work. Work is a sacrificial gesture. So you work
by definition, virtually. Work is the sacrifice of the present for the future.
I mean, maybe someone can come up with a better definition of work than that, but I don't think
so. It's like you put in time and effort right now. It's something, even if it's something maybe not what you'd like to be doing at the moment,
you put in time and effort because you believe,
what the hell does that mean?
You believe it'll pay off.
You guys, it really comes down to this.
You can either A, right?
Sacrifice temporary fun for permanent dreams
or sacrifice your permanent dreams for temporary fun. And the reality is a lot of you guys are willing to sacrifice your permanent dreams or sacrifice your permanent dreams for temporary fun.
And the reality is a lot of you guys are willing to sacrifice
your permanent dreams for some temporary
fun. That temporary fun is never going to
get you fucking anywhere. Because I'll tell you this,
going to the club, partying,
drinking, popping bottles, are those people going to
be there 10 years from now when you're fucking brokey,
wondering what the fuck you did in the
years that you were supposed to be productive?
Let me tell you something, they won't fucking be there roll the clock forward now so talking about
the price that people pay to be the person that you admire everyone would look at tiger woods
narrowly bound like i want to be as good of a golfer as tiger woods and you go yeah okay but
do you want the childhood do you want to spend nearly half a decade out of the sport with injury
because of how hard you've pushed yourself do you want to struggle with self-worth to the point where you basically can't have a long-term marriage?
Don't you chase down the driveway with your wife in a golf club?
He fell asleep at the wheel.
He broke both of his legs not long ago.
He's been on antipsychotics.
Like that is the price that you pay to have that degree of greatness.
It's a onesie, right?
It's not an outfit that you can pick have that degree of greatness it's a onesie right it's not an outfit that you
can pick little different bits about you don't get to choose one element of someone and say i want
that it's like no no no all of these externalities all of the things that you really don't want
they came along for the ride as well so this guy loves playing pickleball and he gets to turn up
on a saturday and play with his friends you know if it's cold outside he doesn't need to go and play and if he's tired he doesn't need to You know, if it's cold outside, he doesn't need to go and play.
And if he's tired, he doesn't need to go and play.
And if he's hungover, he doesn't need to go and play.
And then he decides to turn pro.
And he thinks, I'm turning pro at this thing that I love.
I can't wait to make what I love into my career.
But he doesn't realize that, hey, guess what?
If you're hungover, you still need to go and train.
Well, actually, no, you don't get to be hungover anymore.
Because the guy that isn't hung over is the guy that's
training better so you now need to stop going out with your friends and you need to train when it's
cold and you need to work on game tape and mindset and hydration and nutrition you need to do snc and
you need to have a physio and you need to not see your family as much all of these things came along
for the ride as soon as you decided to turn pro is that a price that you're prepared to pay and
that's an interesting question to ask yourself am Am I prepared to sacrifice my pure, unencumbered, unmolested love for this thing
in order to try and become the best at this thing?
I want you to enjoy the journey.
I want you to remember that these are your glory years.
These years right now as a teenager, and especially in your early teens even,
these are the years you're going to look back at with fondness because these are the years that you
built you built your character the person that you are going to become I
can tell you right now that my most fond years were probably the year before I
started my first ever business when I was 16 and a couple years after that the
years where things were tough they were not easy I was making sacrifices it was
difficult at the time but I have so much appreciation for it now so please if things are difficult or they're hard right now, take a moment to appreciate it because
these are the years you're going to be talking about in a decade, two decades. You know, I'll
tell you something in full honesty, full transparency. The way that I live right now
is not cohesive to being the best partner that I could potentially be,
to being the best son I could potentially be.
My interpersonal relationships, it's not cohesive to that.
Because I have so much burden and so much stress on my shoulders
and so many things to manage at any given time,
and such a massive organization, as I said,
to be the captain of and make sure that our ship is safe
and it's going in the right direction.
I forget birthdays all the time.
I don't call my mom every day.
And if you're a good friend or a good son, you do those things,
or at least you strive to.
Now, that's where I am right now.
In 10 years or 5 years, it could be a totally different story.
In some ways in life, you need to be selfless.
But in some ways, you also need to be selfish in the sense of,
I think when it comes to your morals and your principles,
and your dreams and your dreams
and your aspiration,
no one can take that away from you.
I think it would be unfair for someone
to take that away from you.
And keep in mind, you're still working
a regular job. You still have your social life. You still have
all these other things going on. Guess what's
going to happen when you start this side business? Oh, a magical
thing. Those bitches
and those dates and all that social time that you used to have it's gone now it's gone it's gone because as
soon as you spend that money you no longer are going to do all the fuck shit that you used to do
when you had your regular job like i told you before this isn't for everybody are you prepared
to sacrifice you want to really be an entrepreneur while simultaneously having your other job this is
going to be the hardest part because if you're working a regular job 40 50 hours per week and
you're gonna be working on your business are you prepared to make the actual sacrifice?
A lot of you fuckers aren't.
Let's give it a thousand.
A lot of you guys just want to sit there and let you do it and do some bullshit on the side, not make any money.
It's not a business.
It's a fucking hobby.
So ask yourself, look in the mirror.
Are you really ready to do this?
Are you prepared to cut off friends?
Are you prepared to not go on vacation?
Are you prepared to sit there and go to your real job with one hour of sleep because you'll build
your business all fucking night i was that's how the fuck i did it i told you i was a federal agent
arresting fucking criminals while simultaneously running a fucking fitness business i had no social
life by that time but it's okay because i'm here now because i made that sacrifice are you ready
to make that sacrifice we're talking about sacrifice now. The important thing is this.
You're right in why I'm saying it
because I only have about three more minutes.
Listen to me.
The most important thing is this.
To be able at any moment
to sacrifice what you are
for what you will become.
That's the number two thing.
You got to catch that one.
To be able to Listen to me
At any moment
Some of you
You can make sacrifices
When Monday Night Football
Is not on
You can make a sacrifice
But when the game come on
For some reason
You just attach to it
For some of you
When your favorite show come on
You can make sacrifices
On Sunday
When ain't nothing going on
But when your favorite show
Comes on Monday
Some of you, you focus into the phone ring
And then you're like, I gotta answer it
If I don't answer the phone, I'm gonna die
I'm saying to you today
That there are some of you
If you give up your cell phone
You would be successful
But your cell phone is more important to you
Than your success
I'm gonna say it again I'm your success. I'm going to say it again.
I'm going to hurt somebody.
I'm going to hurt somebody.
Some of you need to give up your cell phone.
Because the time you spend on your cell phone could be used for your success.
The time you could be using to be successful, you're using it on the cell.
And the cell phone is not bringing you nothing but a bill.
And somebody has told you
you couldn't live without it i'm talking about going deep now giving up stuff watch what it says
to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could be i don't do well in math
you're right you ain't never studied i'm not good in writing because you have never written before
but i dare you to fail in writing because you have never written before.
But I dare you to fail in writing for a whole year to see if you can get to the end.
I dare you to fail.
I dare you to take that same class over and over again.
I dare you to stop dropping classes like you saw.
I'd say the most difficult aspect of it
is getting to that really shit and frustrating phase
where you know what you can do but it just
hasn't come into fruition yet and the thing that makes it quite difficult a lot of times
is the social aspect the thing that makes it quite difficult a lot of times is the fact that
as i said you're writing this down every single day maybe you're telling your friends maybe your
friends don't see that maybe you're telling your parents and your parents don't quite see where you're trying to get to, or they can't
wrap their head around it. And I just want to implore you to keep pushing, right? Just disregard
it. You know, I would say just put one foot forward in front of the other. Put your head down.
Focus on the pavement.
Focus on the road.
One foot forward in front of the other.
It's left, right, left, right.
And you do that for years.
And then you look back and go, fuck.
You know, I can't believe how far I've come.
Come, come, come.
