Starting point is 00:00:26 BetMGM operates pursuant to an operating agreement with Eye Gaming Ontario. The magic you are looking for is in the work you're avoiding. If you want some kind of a good outcome, you're going to have to work hard for it. And if you don't work hard for something, you're not going to get an outcome that's really worth much. Get back to work. Stop hearing yourself talk. Get off the podcast. Don't be on social media too much.
Starting point is 00:00:50 Cut out all the noise. Get back to the mental lab. Nothing's ever going to be given to you. Everything's going to be earned. If you don't go out there and put it in the work, you don't go out put in the effort. One, you're not going to get the results. Those times when you get up early and you work hard, those times when you stay up late and you work hard,
Starting point is 00:01:07 those times when you don't feel like working, you're too tired, you don't want to push yourself, but you do it anyway. That is actually the dream. That's the dream. Stay home, man, stay home and do your thing. Good luck, Tia. I wish you all the luck in the world. There's going to be a small group of hungry savages out there that are going to run every one of you over,
Starting point is 00:01:27 and you can sit home and you can cry and complain about how you didn't get yours and it's because this person had this opportunity that you didn't have it's all bull cry baby no one can work out for you doesn't matter how much money you have no one can learn skills for you and so in the early days like it feels so painful because you're like you look around to see who can help you and then you're like it's me again the work comes before the belief you have to do a little work before you actually believe and you work and work and work and work and work and and then it produces a little bit of result, and then you say, oh, okay, that works, and it instills a little bit of belief.
Starting point is 00:02:03 Then you work and work and work and work and work, and you get a little bit bigger result, and then you get a little bit more belief. So the work always comes before the belief in yourself, and you have to have the faith that you are willing to do that work without a visible result, understanding that down the road it's going to pay off. Most people have a plan A, a plan B, a plan C, a plan D. My plan was this must work or it must work. it was this or death for me.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Lock in, believe in what you believe in. Nobody else matter. You have to hold yourself accountable. You have to hold yourself to your truth. You have to hold yourself to your beliefs. And always believe in the power of the man above. Because nobody in the history of life been able to do it by themselves. Amen.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Nobody. What is the best advice you've ever had or received? Do so much work. it would be unreasonable for you not to be successful. You got to do it alone. You got to do it broke. You got to do it scared. You got to do it when you don't know what's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:03:06 You got to do it when you don't feel like it. You got to do it even when you're nervous. You got to do it even when you don't have the answers. Because you'll figure it out as you go. You know, that's the secret to manhood. Hey, bro, can you just promise me one thing, bro? Promise me that for the next six months, you'll give it your all. No abageness, no laziness, no excuses, just pure effort.
Starting point is 00:03:26 Because truth be told, that's all that you're missing. It's just effort. If you just hone in, block out the noise, get off the ground, get off your phone, tell your weaknesses no and tell your strengths, yes, I promise you by the end of the year, you'll be in a totally different situation. But I can't want it more than you. You got to make that choice. Just keep stacking days. Just keep stacking days. As long as you keep stacking days, I promise you, I promise you, I promise you, you will see the change.
Starting point is 00:03:56 but everything that you want is on the other side of hard. Do you not understand that the more comfortable you get, the more uncomfortable life gets, the less action you take, the more consequences you have. The more you let those bills pile up, the less work you put in, the more food you eat, the fatter you get, all these things are gonna start piling up on you, bro. And bro, I know you weren't built to be average.
Starting point is 00:04:17 You were built to have riches, you were built to have the body you want, the physique that you want, the dreams that you want. You were built to have these things, and yet you're content with being average. At the end of the day, the keys are in your hands, bro. It's on you to go make that shit count. The truth is, you must keep going. Why?
Starting point is 00:04:35 Because you deserve to see what happens when all your hard work pays off. Keep going because you're stronger than you think. Keep going because each step forward brings you one step closer to your goals. Keep going because the best is yet to come. You need to understand you can't win all the things. time and unless you lose you haven't even tried every fucking day i wake up and i don't want to do some i'm like okay man do you want to be a today do you want to feel like a little bit do you want walk around all day knowing that you could but you didn't for the first 20 some years in my life it was
Starting point is 00:05:11 just darkness but if you are able to get up every morning have no passion no drive no motivation no shit and still get up with that kind of fire you're You will be successful in life. Yo, yo, bro, before you scroll, I think you forgot something. You forgot who the fuck you are, bro. You got so caught up in other people's opinions and the way the world looks at you that you forgot what got you here in the first place.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Forget everybody else, bro. Forget the crowd, forget the clubs, forget whatever it is. You have nobody to prove anything to except yourself. You don't have as much time as you think, bro. Before you go, let me show you something. You see this guy? Remember what he said? Nobody is going to hit as hard as life.
Starting point is 00:05:54 It's not about how hard you can hit. It's about how hard you can get hit. And keep moving forward. Keep moving forward, bro. I think the easiest thing in life is to give up on whatever you're focused on or whatever you're hopeful for. The hardest thing is to keep going. But we have to. Like, we have to continue to hold on.
Starting point is 00:06:14 But if there's one message, I want you to walk away with today, it's this. You have to disappear. You still go to work. You still show up. But you stop announcing every move and start building something that speaks for itself. Disappearing means doing the work. It means doing the work in the dark. It means building in private what you don't need to prove in public.
Starting point is 00:06:41 It means doing the work when no one's watching. You stop worrying about what people think and start valuing what you believe. People give up right before they get what they always want. wanted to get people quit and they give up and I will not be the person who quit before I got what I wanted or what I needed or what I felt I was supposed to have you want to be really great at something you kind of have to be out of your mind but you also have to have an iron will yeah you don't want to work out every day yeah there's going to be days you just want to eat cake and sleep yeah but if you want to get past the guy who eats cake and sleeps yeah you don't eat cake
Starting point is 00:07:23 and you don't sleep. Yeah. You have to be open-minded to the possibilities that I can do this. Once you shut your mind down to the possibility that it can be achieved, there's no way it can happen. If you want some kind of a good outcome, you're going to have to work hard for it. And if you don't work hard for something, you're not going to get an outcome that's really worth much. There's a payoff for bad eventually. There's a payoff.
Starting point is 00:07:46 It can't be bad, but for so long. If you got the strength and the understanding to realize that, we'll check. You need to get on it. You need to be in here every day. You're almost out of time. You're 22. You're late. Stop being driven by rewards.
Starting point is 00:08:04 Stop being driven by outcomes. Stop being driven by if I get this. I'm going to do this. Just work. And if you don't get what you thought you were going to get, show up and still go to work. Because along the process, what's more important? What you acquire or who you become? You cannot erase the work ethic part.
Starting point is 00:08:22 There is no getting around. Ain't no elevator to the top. You've got to take the stands. We've had quite a few people on that have that same message and it resonates with people because we're all trying to improve ourselves. No one's perfect. No. I'm not perfect now.
Starting point is 00:08:38 I never will be. You're not and you never will be, but you're better than you were yesterday and you're going to be better tomorrow. You have to attack. You have to keep attacking. The enemy has to know he is not going to. to give up. You must break the soul whatever the fuck is in front of you. If you take away suffering and leave discomfort, you realize that the only difference between
Starting point is 00:08:59 discomfort and suffering is resistance. You don't start things and not finishing. You don't quit. There's nothing that comes out of quitting besides knowing that you didn't finish. We finish everything. You start it, finish it. If you're going to do it, do it to try and be the best. Through discipline, through self-discipline, through repetition, through tons of repetition, same thing that you don't want to do. And that's the key thing. Through repetition of things you don't want to do,
Starting point is 00:09:28 you develop mental, like an armor for your mind. Imagine that you're in a movie. And imagine the movie begins now. And you're the hero of the movie. Yeah. What would that guy do? You find no answers in the light. None.
Starting point is 00:09:44 It's too happy. It's too nice. And we're not, we need to be taught how to live in happiness. That just comes naturally to us. Instead of spending time, getting in the mood to work, just start working. Confront the work. People think they need perfect conditions to start, when in reality, starting is the perfect condition. One thing important is that we all have these moments, these moments in time, that either make you or break you, that can determine the rest of your life.
Starting point is 00:10:11 The rest of your life can be determined by one simple decision. 19 years ago, 300 pounds, I was spraying for cockroach that made a decision to try to be a Navy SEAL. My whole goal was to go on this path every day after work and to run a mile to mile and a half. This rock was about a point five mark in my run. This rock was a moment that should have broken me. I got point five into it. I weighed 297 pounds. I sat on this rock and I had decision to make.
Starting point is 00:10:39 I wanted to quit. I wanted to give up. I had to make a decision. Decision I make was to get up and keep on going. That one moment changed the rest of my life. Make the moment work for you. There's a moment when every boy realizes no one's coming to save him. And that's when he becomes a man.
Starting point is 00:10:55 And some boys never get there and stay children forever. And it's important when we step out of this. Like this stuff matters because no one's effing coming to save you. No one's going to make you better at your business. No one is going to get you to be a better persuader of people or framer of people other than you. And I just feel like that's one of the more profound philosophical, comments. There's a lot of grown men and women that are still boys and girls because they think someone else is coming to change their life. Do you actually want to do this or not?
Starting point is 00:11:29 Do you actually want to do this or not? Because if you actually want to do it, what's going to stop you? Nothing. And if you don't really want to do it, what's going to stop you? Just about anything that comes up. Just about any obstacle that gets in your way becomes an excuse. It becomes a reason. It comes a rationale for not proceeding down that. path. And this is interesting too. When you talk to people that went to seal training that didn't make it, most of the time, it's some reason. There's a medical reason. There's a family problem. There's very few people that look at you and say, oh, I quit because it sucked. Passion, passion is free. Nobody can, nobody can charge you for passion. Nobody can tell you what passion looks like.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Because that's all about you. Effort, effort is isolated. The reason why effort is isolated? Because nobody can dictate it. Effort is 100% in the mind. No coach, no player, nobody else can make you run to the ball. Nobody else can make you finish your tackle. Nobody else can do it.
Starting point is 00:12:43 That's why it's the most isolated things in this earth right now, is effort. And when you finally figure it out how to win real battles is final through fundamentals. That's what wins championships. That's what wins battles. Blocking, tackling, blocking, tackling. And today get tired because you don't know what tired feels like. When you're built different than everybody else and you have this desire for more and this desire for achievement and the desire to win, everybody else looks at you like you're fucked up.
Starting point is 00:13:14 And they'll tell you that too. You know, what the is wrong with you? Why can't you just relax? Why can't you just do this? Why can't? Because I'm just not built that way, man. And as I've gotten a little bit older, I've gotten better at accepting it. And it's sort of embracing the fact that this provides a lot of good.
Starting point is 00:13:33 But there's a lot of things that you have to deal with that come that aren't so good. On one given night, if you worked hard enough, if you dreamed big enough, if you were tough enough and you made yourself tough enough, You sacrificed enough. It became polished and savvy enough and technically equipped to do things that you have. And you learned those things. And you just worked yourself to the bone. No matter where you came from, no matter what part of the world, no matter who your parents were,
Starting point is 00:14:03 no matter what your poverty level may have been, may not have been. No matter what you had, what you didn't have. No matter what people had told you, didn't tell you, all of that. If you made yourself and took advantage of that opportunity, got yourself ready, and you were ready to behave like a champion. When you say you're going to do something, and then you follow through and you do it, not at the end when you, you know, you cross the marathon, you finish it, or your hands raised.
Starting point is 00:14:31 I'm talking about right now the small steps in between the big successes that everyone sees. No one sees this. Right now, I'm saying, like, there's a confidence to it, man. There's a bad motherfucker that's right here, you know, that's getting ahead of the competition is an overwhelming sense of fulfillment and pride and satisfaction with that. The fact that something seems impossible shouldn't be a reason to not pursue it. That's exactly what makes it worth pursuing. Where would the courage and greatness be if success was certain, and there was no risk?
Starting point is 00:15:06 The only true failure is shrinking away from life's challenges. This is when I realized I was alone on this earth. I have God along the Earth and I have to fix everything. So this is where I started to develop an indestructible mental toolbox. So I looked in this one guy's eyes who was ringing the bell to quit to put his helmet down out of the Navy Seal Training. And I saw myself. And I saw what everybody said I was going to be, which was nothing. The fact of the matter is, is if you want to be good, you really don't have a lot of choices.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Because it takes what it takes. You have to do what you have to do to be successful. to make the choices and decisions to have the discipline and the focus to the process of what you need to do to accomplish your goals. You know where you want to go. You need your compelling future. You need to keep pushing forward and you can't expect others to get your dreams because they weren't downloaded in them.
Starting point is 00:16:01 They were downloaded in you. If you're too scared to show up and you sit back home wondering what if and everything else, no one in hell is going to call you in that opportunity because you weren't present. The winners always show up. They're willing to lose in order to gain. Big mental thing there, guys. This body is great as you are, as sharp as you make the arsenal. It can't do anything.
Starting point is 00:16:23 If you don't have confidence in yourself, we all fall down in life. The question is who gets back up? You go after and you give it all you have. If you lose, at least you try, Matt. I failed. It's ten times more of a man than someone said, What If? Because what if never went to the arena. Life rewards action, not intelligence, took
Starting point is 00:16:42 Me a few years growing up to really learn this, I think the smarter you are, the better your excuses, the more accomplished you are in talking yourself out of taking action, in proving to yourself that every action that you could take is too small, too meaningless, and not worth it. You decide exactly what you want, and then you start to think, are you going to have thoughts come to your mind of why you can't get it? You have the ability in your conscious mind to reject that up. idea kick it out of your mind thinking of why you can't do something is never going to do you any good and keep thinking until you start to think of thoughts of
Starting point is 00:17:21 how you can do it and the way we'll be shown to you it comes in the form of images in our mind think of how you can and not why you can everything is determined by what you do and you trying to be your best so that you can build on positive performance and that's that's the only thing There should be nothing else. You don't become confident by shouting affirmations in the mirror, but by having a stack of undeniable proof that you are who you say you are. Outwork yourself doubt.
Starting point is 00:17:53 But maybe you could get what would really be good for you. Well, why don't you? Well, because you don't try. You don't think, okay, imagine that you were taking care of yourself like you were someone you actually cared for. And then you thought, okay, I'm caring for this person. I would like things to go as well for them as possible. What would their life have to be like in? in order for that to be the case.
Starting point is 00:18:14 Well, people don't do that. They don't sit down and think, all right, you know, let's figure it out. You've got a life that's hard, obviously. It's like three years from now you can have what you need. You've got to be careful about it. You can't have everything. You can have what would be good for you. But you have to figure out what it is.
Starting point is 00:18:32 And then you have to aim at it. That's a difference between a hero and a collar. There ain't no difference. Inside, they're both exactly alike. Both scared of dying, we're getting hurt. But it's what the hero does. It makes him a hero. It's what the other guy doesn't do.
Starting point is 00:18:51 It makes him a coward. Take yourself out your comfort zone. Do not live in your bubble. Put some more air in your bubble. If you stay in your comfort zone, that's where you will fail. You will fail in your comfort zone. Success is not a comfortable procedure. It is a very uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:19:10 very uncomfortable thing to attempt. So you got to get comfortable being uncomfortable if you ever want to be successful. Most of us, we live in a box and we don't want to go outside that box. Outside that box is all these possibilities of life. What we do is we shackle our mind. We are a prisoner in our own mind that this is all I can do. This is all I'm good at. And we take away the possibilities of you could be this, you could be that. You can be all. these things and I never thought at 300 pounds I could be named soon. That's how I lived my life. I now know that there is no cap on the human mind. There's no cap. We cap it ourselves. When you have fear, that's a good sign. Nothing grows in the comfort zone. Remember that,
Starting point is 00:20:02 folks. Nothing. The more comfortable you are, the more you're probably not growing. There's consequences that you pay to constantly seeking comfort and avoiding discomfort and avoiding hard work. And those consequences are you're never going to feel self-realized, you're never going to feel like you accomplished anything, you're never going to have this feeling of understanding that difficulty and struggle and the ability to push through that is a muscle. And you develop that muscle by doing it. And once you do, you develop a lot of self-satisfaction and you develop peace of mind and you understand that you can overcome obstacles. If you don't have to overcome obstacles, you never know whether or not you can. Imagine that if you were to go a mile or less, you would walk it.
Starting point is 00:20:44 Paradoxically, you would go two miles quicker than you would go one mile. And if you were to go more than a mile, you would drive it. So, for instance, the friend that should leave his job. But it's just about passable. His boss isn't that much of a dick. The person that stays in an apartment that's got some mold on the ceiling, it's not too much mold and whatever. All of these people would be better off if their situations were worse
Starting point is 00:21:03 because it would galvanize them into actually doing something. If things are good, great, no problem. If things are bad, great. Activation energy to go and make them good. If things are just about passable, you end up being comfortably numb. I've trained 99% of my life alone. No one pat me on the back. I did all of the work alone.
Starting point is 00:21:24 If you want some kind of a good outcome, you're going to have to work hard for it. And if you don't work hard for something, you're not going to get an outcome that's really worth much. The biggest advice I could give you right now, and this is not my words, Woody Allen told me this. I said, Woody, what's the secret to success? He said, 85 to 90% of life is just showing up. Show up. If you show up, there's a chance something could happen. You have to suffer.
Starting point is 00:22:01 You have to make that a tattoo on your brain. So when that hard time comes again, you don't forget it. You have to hit rock bottom. That's the way up. You hear rock bottom, it's beautiful. The struggle of, the struggle of coming back is beautiful. That struggle. Time to train, train at that time.
Starting point is 00:22:20 Set a time to go sleep, go to sleep at that time. Set a time to get up, get up at that time. Don't tell us every, you need to do something and then, don't do it. That's what I was talking about with Ariel. I said, I knew in my head I was saying, get up at this time. I got a I didn't get up at that time train at this time I didn't train at that time Don't eat this I ate that don't drink that I drank and these all just infiltrate my mental strength Just little kind of defeat exactly little defeats instead of wins and it just culminates into all
Starting point is 00:22:51 And you just don't want to be here Hey Dahlah you know how you gonna win you treat every day like a Monday and every month like a January You gotta wake up every day and put a 110% to your crab because there's someone out there that's getting it more than you So don't me act in shit when they up and you down. The person who grinds the hardest always gets it. Hardware beats talent every time. Remember that. If he could do it. This isn't a movie. He believed in yourself. And you can too. Oh man, you're going to put it on me like that. You can do anything that you want. You could be even like rich. You could live in a white house someday. You could be
Starting point is 00:23:31 President. Do what you want to do. I firmly believe when you give everything you got to something, right? I'm talking about blood, sweating tears, everything you got to something, right? The piece in that is not the result or the reward. The piece is the fact that I gave everything I had to it because this is who I am. So now even if it doesn't turn out the way I wanted to, I didn't go to the NFL. That was a dream I had since I was seven. It didn't happen.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Whatever you do, do it 100%. When you work, work. When you laugh, laugh. When you eat, eat like it's your last minute. Consistency, consistency, man. That's the name of the game, bro. Don't get much simpler into that. You know, it's the number one way you measure somebody that's hungry?
Starting point is 00:24:18 Very simple. Their sense of urgency. That's simple. Let me explain to you why. People say, why, you have no idea of hunger I am. Really? Yeah. What'd you do about it today?
Starting point is 00:24:29 Oh, not today. but tomorrow I'm gonna you ain't hungry man you just think you're hungry you are not hungry you never leave the gym knowing I have 5% left at 5% is magic it's the magic place where very few people go you can go there and giving you permission to go there we have people behind you if you fall down and drop the weight on the floor who cares who cares but if you make it I care I want that. I want you to fail and I want you to get up and do it again. If I want to go to the gym,
Starting point is 00:25:04 absolutely not. I'd rather lay in my house and sit in the movie theater and watch movies. But, you know, to be the best, you got to work overtime. To be the best, you got to work overtime. The fish just don't jump in the boat. You know, meaning you better go out there and do it yourself. You know, don't wait around and wait for someone to hand deliver something. Go make it happen.
Starting point is 00:25:25 You know, the fish don't just jump in the boat. to go catch him, go catch him. You know, throw that line in the water and go do some work. And if it doesn't work that day, do it again the next day. Stop thinking and believing that because you was born in this, that you are this. You want to live a good life? Yes, I like to drink. I like to eat a burger.
Starting point is 00:25:44 Okay. You're going to pay the bill in the future. Right. I think the most important is to find the balance. Sometimes I can eat an burger or chips. It doesn't matter. And it's important, too. If you have consistent things.
Starting point is 00:25:57 You're going to be good in the future or you're going to be better than the other ones in the future. This is my opinion. You're not only winning when things are going your way. You've got to figure out how to win when things aren't going your way. You've got to figure out when your body's fighting you, when your mind's fighting you, how do you still, you know, just say, I'm going to beat my mind today. Or do you just give in your mind to say, oh, I'm tired today, I'm lazy. I don't want to do it.
Starting point is 00:26:21 It's too hard. No one else is doing it. It's a weekend. It's too late. These are already off hours. Oh, exactly what I want. happening right now like okay great you know who that's great for your competition to your problem is that you keep rushing the process you ain't trying to be patient good things come to those who wait
Starting point is 00:26:38 this ain't a sprint this is a marathon and the more you keep worrying about the future the more you're going to get lost in the prison you got to get up and just put one fair in front of your other branches have that blind faith but what I will say is that we don't know when it's happening but we know what's coming we ain't putting this working for no reason so for that I say keep grinding and I believe in So you never wanted a regular type life? Is that barbecues and ballgames? Yeah. That's all right.
Starting point is 00:27:07 That's all right. Shit. I'm winning anyway. I'm winning. I'm winning any muff way. I can't load. Stay focused. Don't listen to nobody.
Starting point is 00:27:21 Don't listen to nobody, homie. What's on your mind? Just do it. It's what's destined for you. You're going to get it. I was running this race. It was a 24-hour race as a relay team. I was with four friends. And the format of the race is, you know, you run a mile, I run a mile, whatever team runs the most amount of miles wins the race. He had no teammates.
Starting point is 00:27:42 But why not respond to that? Time, time, Harry. Patience. Patience is a skill we must master. Patience is one of the most valuable skills that human being must master. And I'm working hard to master it and I feel I'm getting there. so time, time will show all. But now you know what given it your all is. And you will not succeed
Starting point is 00:28:05 in business or any endeavor in life until that fight you just went through is applied to the same endeavor. I've had some good conversations with people and then, you know, the most important you've got to have those internal conversations because if you can't tell yourself then no one can tell you so.
Starting point is 00:28:25 You guys are saying you're doing everything right and you're giving it in your all. Your all's a lot more than you know. You've got more inside of you to give. Stop selling yourself so short. The only thing that you can do is win so big that all of them constantly compare themselves to you. And then you'll forget they exist. Success is the only revenge. He's like, it's not the best revenge.
Starting point is 00:28:52 He's like, it's the only one. There's no other revenge. I looked in this one guy's eyes who was ringing the bell to quit to put his helmet down out of the Navy's social. and I saw myself and I saw what everybody said I was going to be, which was nothing. This is when I realized I was alone on this earth. I have God alone on this earth and I have to fix everything. So this is why I started to develop an indestructible mental toolbox. I'd rather go too far than not far enough.
Starting point is 00:29:21 The only reward that you get from taking it easy is the fact that in the moment it's easier. I asked a cameraman up there. I'm like, hey, I said, how did Goggins look? And he's like, well, he had his shirt off. And he was, and it was cold rain. He's had his shirt off. And he was saying, they don't know me. I'm like, who is he?
Starting point is 00:29:43 He's like, they don't know me, son. And doing saying all this stuff. I said, who is he saying that to? And he's like, there's nobody up here. If you give your all every day, your gifts will make room for you. Do you view this season as a failure? Do you get a promotion every year? on your job.
Starting point is 00:29:59 No, right? So every year you work is a failure. Yes or no? No. Every year you work, you work towards something, towards a goal, right,
Starting point is 00:30:07 which is to get a promotion, to be able to take care of your family, provide a house for them or take care of your parents. You work towards a goal. It's not a failure. It's steps to success. You know, there's good days,
Starting point is 00:30:19 bad days. Some days you are able to be successful. Sometimes days you're not. Some days it's your turn. Some days it's not your turn. And that's what sports is about. You don't, always win. Some other people is going to win. And this year, somebody else is going to win.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Similar as that, we're going to come back next year, try to be better, try to build good habits, play better, not have a 10-day stretch without playing bad basketball. You know, and hopefully we can win a championship. Next day, I'm very capable and I learn that, listen, Kristiano, let's go. Life continue. Pass is past. He's never come again. The present, it's the best gift that we have in our life, the present. Because you know, you don't know that what's going to happen. tomorrow. You don't know. I don't know. You don't know. So live the present. Work because you have more to show. You understand? Life continue. You cannot live in the past. I'm really good on that. You understand. I learned by the years that, listen, Christiana, let's go. Because pain, you're going to
Starting point is 00:31:15 have all the time uncertainty and constant work. Constant work. Constant work. Doesn't matter what's happened. It's going to happen in your life. You have to continue. This is the way I see the life. You have to be yourself. Doesn't matter if the people like or not. You think I'm going to change now? Our Christianist self is always, I'm going to change now. Comparison is the deadliest thing we can do to ourselves because we will always come up short. All it does is exaggerate all of our insecurities. It's okay to enjoy other people's success, but let them live their lives and you live your life. You are one decision away from changing your life. And you have to accept that. Your one new meeting, new relationship, one new contact, one new action, one new decision away from shifting your
Starting point is 00:32:04 life from where it is right now to a totally different place. So what's the decision? You already know, I could go backstage now. There's something you've been hesitating on. There's a contact you need to make, isn't there? There's a job you need to quit. There's a relationship you need to engage in. Maybe there's a relationship you need to leave.
Starting point is 00:32:21 I don't know what it is, but I know there's a decision that you need to make to take you to the next level. like I know that's true for me because decisions shape our destiny when they're backed up by some massive ass action so those you guys in this room with a dream to do something great with your life and you're kind of average and ordinary maybe you're not the smartest dude in the world or the biggest dude in the world but you want to do something great with your life maybe i can be an example of that because i know what it's like not to feel great about what you're doing to doubt whether you're doing this and i just got to tell you something i'm an example this stuff pays
Starting point is 00:32:54 Get up early. Do some kind of workout. Eat good foods. Clean your room. Make a list of things that you're supposed to do in your life and then wake up in the morning and do those things that you put on the list. It's time to get back to work. Stop hearing yourself talk. Get off the podcast. Don't be on social media too much. Cut out all the noise. Get back to the mental lab. You're going to lose sleep. You'll doubt whether it'll work. You'll stress to make ends meet. You won't finish your to do list. You'll wonder whether you made the right call and have no way to know for years. This is what hard feels like, and that's okay. Everything worth doing is hard. And the more worth doing it is, the harder it is. The greater the payoff, the greater the hardship. If it's hard, good.
Starting point is 00:33:36 It means no one else will do it. More for you. The ultimate lesson here is this. Everybody's on their own path. And I don't want to judge someone for wanting to be free and easy. I just want you to understand that there's a cost to that. And the cost that you're going to have to that isn't going to come until later. Most people need to shut the fuck up.
Starting point is 00:33:54 and focus on that version of themselves they want to become and actually be willing to become it. And that's what's ultimately going to create the fulfillment that you're looking for. It's not going to be your cold plunge. It's not going to be your morning routine. It's going to be the work that you fucking do to become that version of yourself that is the exact version that you know you're supposed to become and then being proud of it. That's what's going to create the fulfillment that you're searching for. There is no shame to admit that you're afraid because there is no courage without fear.
Starting point is 00:34:22 And when I made peace with that, it changes everything in my life. Because I made peace. And I said it to even in my open, it's like, yeah, I'm scared of you. But no matter what, I'm going to freaking walk the walk. And there's nothing you can do. I'm telling you it's worth it. And you know what? You actually know it's worth it.
Starting point is 00:34:38 That's why you're asking this question. You know it's worth it. You know it's worth it to have discipline. But you think there's an easier way. You think that it's something that people have. You think that when Jocco's alarm clock goes off, it's like, oh, just like my father taught me, I rise and I shine. No, it's like the pillow feels soft and comfortable.
Starting point is 00:34:56 Yeah. And the alarm clock is banging on my head and I don't like it. But you know what? I know it's worth it to get up and get after it. I know it's worth it. And you know it's worth it. Turn your feelings off when it comes down to you wanting to be better. What that means is when that alarm clock goes off, your feelings got to go away.
Starting point is 00:35:15 It's raining outside. It's cold outside. When you don't want to put those long hours in at work, that's what I'm talking about. Your feelings must go away. If you have to ask how to get motivated to go to the gym, you don't need to be going to the gym. You don't want it enough. When you're sick and tired of looking and feeling like shit, you'll show up, I'll see you there.
Starting point is 00:35:36 Because you're going to look in the mirror and you're going to be like, that. You kind of want to be in the gym. You want. If I could go back, I'd tell younger me, you're going to do some pretty great things, but you do not need to be great. All you have to do is be yourself. That will always be enough. It's holding people back from excelling beyond average. Do you think it's talent, belief?
Starting point is 00:35:58 I think people don't do very much. I think people do a lot of talking about doing, not a lot of doing. And I think it's the doing that does everything. And I think that's the, and whether it's lack of motivation, lack of focus, lack of a, lack of a hundred different things, it just comes down to a number of actions taken pre-unit of time. And I think the vast majority of people just wildly underestimate the volume that's required. What do you want in your life? We have so much influence coming at us that we are so lost. We don't know what we want to do because we don't spend enough time with ourselves.
Starting point is 00:36:34 You have to learn to shut off a phone. Shut off a computer. Shut off a TV. And it's okay to sit in a room by yourself in a chair and just think about you. Where I want to be? Where do I see myself tomorrow the next year, the next year from that? And it takes a lot of self-discipline to be able to do that nowadays because you want to be so attached to everything. You want to be so caught up with the world.
Starting point is 00:37:00 The world is moving too fast. The world is moving so fast that you're trying to keep up to the point where you lose yourself in the world. So we don't stop. If we start something we see the entire way through, at the end of it, even if you don't like it to the highest level, you know that you put your time energy into something, that you're at least proud, proud that you did, proud that you were able to put a period on that sentence. The biggest mistake a person can do right now, no matter in which situation you are,
Starting point is 00:37:36 is to give up. You might not reach the best, best version of yourself in this lifetime, but a better one than you are right now. The main point is to find something that you are not standing still where you are right now. At least prepare yourself slowly step by step to get out of that hole right now. To achieving your dreams you must apply discipline but more importantly consistency because without commitment you'll never start but without consistency you'll never finish
Starting point is 00:38:13 fired up man fired the fuck up man motivated pumped up man early still man early some people just getting up I went about the first endeavor of the day. We've already done a few endeavors, man. We already kicked some ass. We like a taste of that. We want to kick some more ass. So in the next endeavor we're doing. Because we put value in our day.
Starting point is 00:38:31 You are, you repeatedly do. And anything you do. So many people. They want to go somewhere, but they don't want to move. What do they expect? They expect us to pick them up and carry them there? No, no. What is it today that you've been wanting,
Starting point is 00:38:49 but to be honest with you, haven't yet gotten. I will almost guarantee you the reason that your want and desire is far from being fulfilled by achieving it is because you haven't taken action necessary. So today, don't think about it, don't talk about it, don't wish for it, go for it, dive, move, start, act. Trust me, it's the only way to get there. Earl Nightingale said many years ago
Starting point is 00:39:23 that one hour per day of study in your chosen field was all that it really takes. One hour per day of study will put you at the top of your field within three years. Within five years, you'll be at National Authority. In seven years, you can be one of the best people in the world at what you do with just one hour every single day. There is a period in everybody's journey
Starting point is 00:39:47 where they are so different because they've started to do new things that they no longer fit in with that old set of friends But they're not sufficiently developed that they've gained their new set of friends and they're unsure Should I go back? Should I lean back into getting a bag in with the boys on a weekend? Is that the highest you know Way that I can live my life passion forward because that's what everybody else does and that lonely chapter That's in the middle is something that I would say almost nobody that I've ever met who has gone from a place where they are to a place where they want to be hasn't gone through. Don't rely on social media.
Starting point is 00:40:22 Put it down, turn it off, shut up, be quiet, learn, read, relax, get better. First part of your life you learn, second part of your life you earn, third part of your life you return. Today I'm no longer be a loser. Today I'm gonna change my path.
Starting point is 00:40:40 I'm gonna get on the path of success. I don't care how long that road is. I'm gonna see it through no matter what. Because you know what? I've been living my life. enough years in this sh**hole I don't want to be here anymore I'm happy with this
Starting point is 00:40:54 and I'm tired of making excuses I'm tired going through the same circle of emotion as shit set up a schedule and just do the work you wake up one day you feel this way you wake up the next day you feel another way and it's just not helpful
Starting point is 00:41:08 to base your structure or your goal on how you feel you stick to what you put there on paper Every morning, every day of our lives, we have choices to make. You have the choice to stay in bed to say, forget it. I'm not going to work out today.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Or forget it, I'm not going to work hard today. You always have a choice every single day of your life. So it's a very different video because yesterday I made the choice to get up early and run. But today's another day. Today's another day that I'm faced with another choice to make. So I'm making the choice again to put my shoes on early in the morning and get after again. So make the right decision.
