Pressure. Changes everything pressure.
Some people you squeeze them, they focus. Others fold.
Can you summon your talent and will?
Can you deliver on a deadline? Can you sleep at night?
Your brain needs pressure. It needs constant pressure.
And stress and pressure is not a bad thing.
We have this thing where we feel like stress is bad.
You know, you need to relax, man. You need to chill.
Stress will kill you. No. Not having anything to do will kill you.
It is much more dangerous than stress.
The number one mistake I see people make is that they think they're training hard.
They think they're doing it.
If they think they can just walk in there, do what they want to do, and they're going to grow.
You need to demand results.
You need to beat what you did yesterday and then tomorrow beat what you're going to do today.
Only when you risk going too far can you possibly find out how far you can go.
There's human beings that have different temperament and different minds and different mentality
and a ruthless competitive drive
that's almost terrifying
to the ordinary person.
And those people have always existed.
These dominators have always existed.
You don't get a Mike Tyson without that.
You don't get a Muhammad Ali without that.
You don't get a Marvin Hagler without that.
You don't get a...
You don't get that.
There's a thing inside some people
that is a driving force that allows them
to overcome the greatest around them.
Don't half ass it.
don't half acid
boy that never goes out of style
doesn't it? I mean think about it
if you're going to do something if you've chosen
to do something whatever it is easy heart
if you give it your all
and you don't half acid
win lose draw get what you want
don't get what you want whatever the outcome is
if you don't half ass it
at least you're not going to have to wonder
oh would the outcome
have been different? What if
I did give it my own?
And boy, wondering that
is what keeps us up at night.
The point is that there's some games you don't get to play unless you're all in.
And the other thing that's so interesting about being alive is that you're all in.
No matter what you do, you're all in.
This is going to kill you.
So I think you might as well play the most magnificent game you can
while you're waiting because do you have anything better to do?
Really?
Why not pick the best thing possible that you could do?
could do. Why not do that? Maybe you could justify your wretched existence to yourself that way.
I think you could. That's what it looks like. The man who never fail. The man who never
fell has no glory. The man who fell and got back up. That's where his glory is. The man who fell
fell 20 times and got up 21 times. That man has even greater glory. Wow. That man has more
courage, way more curse than the guy who was so strong from birth that he never failed.
There's no glory in that.
One thing that I've discovered is the black sheep of the family, always, if they keep
getting back up again, turns out to be the goat.
Stop taking constructive criticism from people that have never constructed anything that
you've walked through.
There's no excuse not to be the hardest motherfucker worker in the room.
And all your endeavors, schoolwork, the gym, your career, your relationship.
Your name's attached to it.
It's got to mean more than anything.
Lock in.
Believe in what you believe in.
Nobody else matter.
You have to hold yourself accountable.
You have to hold yourself to your truth.
You have to hold yourself to your beliefs.
And always believe in the power of the man above.
Because nobody in the history of life been able to do it by themselves.
Amen.
Nobody.
Hustle, hustle.
Sleep with sin in my house.
If it was daylight, you couldn't be inside.
Mom would always say, why are you going to watch someone doing something when you can go out in the world and do it yourself?
Turn that damn thing off, get outside.
Had to be outside.
Get out.
The world, go hustle.
Figure it out.
Be home in dark.
Time to become a man.
Walk forward. Peripheral vision.
Get it.
Own yourself.
Walk forward with more courage and start becoming the man you want to be instead of acting like it and putting it off.
I truly believe we are all equal as human beings.
If we are obsessed with something and we try to be able to be able to be able to be able to be.
and we truly pursue our passion with everything we have,
regardless of anything else.
If you are obsessed, work hard, put in the time, you will succeed.
And that is a philosophy that I carry, my coaches carry,
and this is hard work, this is an obsession.
Nothing can beat hard work.
The easiest thing in life is to give up on,
on whatever you're focused on or whatever you're hopeful for.
The hardest thing is to continue to keep going, but we have to.
You can do two things.
You can run in front of high.
curl up in a ball and let the world just beat you to death or you can dig your heels in you figure out how to you know you have to figure out yourself and then you you you dig in and you fight i literally the day we got back from mexico i had a quote installed on my wall it says may god have mercy upon my enemies because i won't so let's go there's people out there that are just working harder than everybody else and they'll they're
going to keep doing it.
Yeah.
And that's their grind.
You have to be crazy enough to think that it's possible.
That's how you do something worthwhile.
That's how you beat the FAAD.
You have to believe it's possible.
And when you believe something is possible, everything else will figure itself out.
Normal people get normal results.
Weird people get weird results.
You literally can't do what everyone else does and not expect to get what everyone else has.
By doing what everyone else does, you guarantee average results.
You get up. You don't want to go run. You go run. You don't want to go swim, you go swim. You don't want to make your bed. You make your bed.
Most of the limitations we have do not exist in reality. They exist only in your own mind.
And one of the starting points of great achievement is to start questioning those self-limiting beliefs and throw them off and act as if they did not exist.
To be successful at anything, the truth is you don't have to be special. You just,
have to be what most people aren't. Consistent, determined, and willing to work for it. No shortcuts.
If you look at all my teammates here tonight, it would be impossible to find better examples of men
who embody that work ethic, integrity, purpose, determination, and discipline that it takes to be a champion
in life. At the end of every day, you look yourself in the mirror and you ask yourself,
Did I get better today?
If the answer is yes, and you do that for five years, 10 years, 15 years, how much better are you going to be?
Are you getting better every single day?
That's the question.
Is this going to make me better?
No, it goes.
Is this going to help my life?
No, it goes.
Is this going to create a bright future for those around me?
No, it goes.
And it's simple as that.
It's hard when you're young to wake up and
the off season at 6 a.m. to go train and work out, knowing that all your friends are sleeping in
and eating pancakes. It's hard when you're on your way to practice, way down with all your gear,
and it's 90 degrees out and all the other kids are at the pool or at the beach, and your body is
already completely exhausted from workouts in two a days. It's hard to throw, catch, block, and tackle,
and hit kids when they're way bigger and way more developed than you, only to go home
that night bruised and battered and strained, but knowing you have to show up again the next day
for just the chance to try again. I wanted to run out of that tunnel to prove to everyone
that I worked. Prove what? Oh, you are so full of crap. In this lifetime, you don't have to
prove nothing to nobody except yourself. And after what you've gone through, if you haven't done
that by now, it ain't going to never happen. Most people's number one fear is public humiliating.
I don't give a fuck anymore.
I'm not afraid of it.
In the end, I don't care whether you love me or you hate me
just as long as I win.
Tired, don't mean nothing.
Tired was only in the mind.
You tell yourself you're tired, you're going to be tired.
I don't get tired.
Marcus Aurelius says your only focus should be
on getting better at what you're doing.
Focus on what you're doing, get better at what you're doing.
Everything else is a complete waste of time.
The humbling reality that I'm not special,
And if you want to be good at anything, you have to work really hard.
And if you want to be the best in the world at something like I do,
I want to build robots better than anybody else in the world.
Or whether that's knitting or yodeling, anything,
you have to work, but you have to work harder than anyone else in the world.
I am unstoppable.
I'm unstoppable.
I'm unstoppable.
I don't care what it is.
I'm unstoppable.
Nothing will stop me.
The greatest of all qualities to guarantee success
is the absolute willingness to go at anything
and refuse to stop until you achieve it.
And you know something, the statistics show, that 95% of the goals that you set for yourself, you will achieve if you refuse to quit.
I now see anything as possible and that you could train for anything.
There's nothing you can't do.
You can't be the best in the world at something, but you can be a lot better than you are at anything you want to put the time into learning.
Whatever it is, you could do anything.
We think that we're working our ass.
off working hard. You know, we've been working out hard in the gym for a month, but we haven't
seen any results. So we get off down and get your pants. You study for 30 minutes for a test,
and you didn't do as well as you thought. What the f*** you expect? You're not putting in the
work. You have to do more. You got to stop telling yourself that you're doing enough. In life,
It's never enough until you feel this overwhelming feeling of shit, man.
I'm out working the crowd.
I'm out working everybody.
I'm doing more.
It's not until then.
Once you get there, that's when you, you know you've done enough.
I became obsessed with being the baddest motherfucker that God ever created.
Am I that?
I don't care.
I believe it.
And I was trying to tell them once you become obsessed with something, obsessed.
It's okay to be unbalanced.
for a while. You have to be unbalanced
to find every bit of
energy and strength that you have
to pull it off.
Then you get balanced once you become
great. If he could
do it. This isn't a movie.
He believed in yourself.
And you can too.
Oh man, you're going to put it on me
like that. You can do
anything that you want.
You could be even
like rich. You could live
in a white house someday.
You could be president.
Me?
Do what you want to do.
I firmly believe when you give everything you got to something, right?
I'm talking about blood, sweat, and tears, everything you got to something, right?
The piece in that is not the result or the reward.
The peace is the fact that I gave everything I had to it because this is who I am.
Yeah.
So now, even if it doesn't turn out the way I wanted to, I didn't go to the NFL.
That was a dream I had since I was seven.
It didn't happen.
Whatever you do, do it 100%.
When you work, work.
When you laugh, laugh.
When you eat, eat like it's your last man.
Consistency, consistency, man.
That's the name of the game, bro.
Don't get much simpler than today.
You know, it's the number one way you measure somebody that's hungry.
Very simple.
Their sense of urgency.
That's simple.
Let me explain to you why.
People say, you have no idea of hunger I am.
Really?
Yeah.
What do you do about it today?
Oh, not today, but 20.
Tomorrow, I'm gonna, you ain't hungry, man.
You just think you're hungry.
You are not hungry.
You can never leave the gym knowing I have 5% left.
That 5% is magic.
That's the magic place where very few people go.
You can go there.
I'm giving you permission to go there.
We have people behind you.
If you fall down and drop the weight on the floor, who cares?
Who cares?
But if you make it, I care.
I want that.
I want you to.
to fail and I want you to get up and do it again.
If I want to go to the gym,
absolutely not. I'd rather lay in my
house and sit in the movie
theater and watch movies.
But, you know,
to be the best, you got to work overtime. To be
the best, you got to work overtime.
The fish just don't jump in the boat.
You know, meaning you better go out there and do it
yourself. You know, don't wait around
and wait for someone to the hand deliver something.
Go make it happen. You know, the fish
don't just jump in the boat. If you want to go catch
him, go catch him. You know, throw that line.
in the water and go do some work and if it doesn't work that day do it again the next day.
Stop thinking and believing that because you was born in this, that you are this.
You want to live a good life? Yes, I like to drink. I like to eat a burger.
Okay, you're gonna pay the bill in the future. Right. I think the most important is to find the balance.
Sometimes I can eat an burger or chips, well it doesn't matter. It's important too. If you have
consistency, you're going to be good in the future or you're going to be better than the other
ones in the future. This is my opinion.
You're not only winning when things are going your way. You've got to figure out how to win
when things aren't going your way. You got to figure out when your body's fighting you,
when your mind's fighting you, how do you still, you know, just say, I'm going to beat my mind
today. Or do you just give in your mind to say, oh, I'm tired today, I'm lazy, I don't want to do
it. It's too hard. No one else is doing it. It's a weekend. It's too late. These are already off
hours, oh, exactly what I want isn't happening right now. Like, okay, great. You know who that's
great for? Your competition. Your problem is that you keep rushing the process. You ain't trying to be
patient. Good things come to those who wait. This ain't a sprint. This is a marathon. And the more
you keep warning about the future, the more you're going to get lost in the prison. You got to get
up and just put one foot in the other branch and just have that blind faith. But what I will say
is that we don't know when it's happening, but we know what's coming. We ain't putting this
working for no reason. So for that, I say, keep grinding and I believe in you.
Everybody gets one chance to do something great.
Most people never take the chance, either because they're too scared,
but they don't recognize it when it spits on their shoes.
This is your big chance.
And you shouldn't let it go by.
What would have to happen by the end of 2026?
For me to look back on 2026 and consider it a success.
Get serious.
That's number one.
I don't know any substitute for that.
You don't have to tell anybody you're going to the gym.
Just go.
You don't have to tell anybody you're starting that business.
Just start.
Once you learn how to work, the work itself is self-reinforcing and you enjoy it.
It's everything else that you didn't know you're going to have to sacrifice so that you could get back to working.
Life isn't fair at all.
At all.
So what are you going to do about it?
I knew that no one was coming back to help me.
No one was a miracle me to be somebody special.
Everybody that called me nigger, my dad, my mom, all my situation.
were on me now. It's solely on me.
When a man can't find a deep sense of meaning,
they distract themselves with pleasure.
Never wait on the right time,
because the right time ain't ever coming.
All that, when we get my ducks lined up in the row?
No, you won't. No, you won't.
Because as you have aspirations,
you've got to understand that the devil understands your aspirations too.
The devil's job is to rob you of your destiny.
So that will always be an obstacle.
So if you're waiting on the right time,
You'll never make the move.
You have to go.
See, devil, he only has one job to rob you of what God intended for you to be.
That's his only job.
So he has a lot of people that work for him full time.
They call haters.
And they at work all the time.
And you all experience with them too.
And so what you've got to do is when you have these ideas of greatness, you've got to go forward.
Because it's not going to be a right time.
Just go.
just go go jump take a chance imagine that you're in a movie and imagine the movie begins now
and you're the hero of the movie what would that guy do what would that guy do right now because
you are the purpose is you we forget that every day i wake up and i don't want to do some
shit i'm like okay man do you want to be a borg today do you want to feel like a little
You want to walk around all day knowing that you could, but you didn't?
Be the guy who embraces the ugly, the miserable.
Be the guy who embraces hard work, the grind.
Don't be afraid of being hurt.
Don't be afraid of a sacrifice to some blood.
You negotiate with your body to find more strength, but don't you give up on me, Brock.
You keep going, you hear me?
You keep going. You're doing good.
You keep going.
You're not quit on me.
You keep going.
It hurt.
I know it hurt.
You keep going.
You keep going.
If you don't change.
what you're doing and how you do it,
nothing else will change.
If you don't fail, you're not even trying.
I'll say it again.
If you don't fail, you're not even trying.
My wife told me this great expression.
To get something you never had,
you have to do something you never did.
Unchosen suffering is going to happen in life.
Your parents are going to pass away,
loved ones are going to die,
your relationships are going to break down,
your body is going to fail you, you're going to become ill or sick or destitute.
Things are going to happen, and you have no control over.
And the only way that you can prepare yourself for unchosen suffering is with chosen suffering.
You can elect to put yourself into a position to become a stronger alloy of whatever the metal is that you're made of.
And by purposefully choosing difficult things, you will armour yourself against that situation.
It's still going to suck.
But think about how much more fragile you would be if you hadn't overcome one.
all of this stuff.
But I don't look at failure as failure.
I look at failure as your first, second, third, fourth, fifth attempt.
I look at them as attempts.
I don't look at anything as failure.
Because when you're going to try to do some, not trying, it's failure.
We're all trying to improve ourselves.
No one's perfect.
Nope.
I'm not perfect now.
I never will be.
You're not and you never will be, but you're better than you were yesterday and you're
going to be better tomorrow.
Patience.
The thing that goes beyond hustle and heart.
hard work, the discipline of patience, right? Because we all talk about hustle, we talk about working
hard, we talk about grinding, this, that, and the third. But nobody talks to you about patience.
Nobody speaks about that patience. Because in the patience, that's where you're going to make it or you're
going to break. Intentionally act like the person you want to become. Because when you intentionally
act like the person you want to become, your brain sees you taking those actions. So your brain
starts to change the way it relates to you. When your brain sees you high-fiving yourself in the
mirror, it starts to go, oh, wait a minute, Stephen loves himself. Stephen's cheering for himself.
We don't beat Stephen up. Well, life took me somewhere unexpected. I'm not prepared. It's about six
degrees out here, and I'm underdressed, but guess what? No one gives a fucking guy to get the
motherfucker in. Sometimes life can really hijack your fucking mind. When that has, it's about, it's about
happens to you, you're all f*** up, your goals, your ambitions, everything is out the
window. In life, we all go through different things. Sometimes your girlfriend or boyfriend
breaks up with you. Guess what? Get the fuck over it. They no longer want you. Maybe you fell
a test in school. You worked your ass off. Guess what? You fell to the test. Get over it, move past it.
Learn to not let life hijack your brain. At work, you've been working your ass off that new promotion.
You don't get it. Someone else does. Maybe they kiss better ass than you do. Guess what? Get over it.
Life will hijack your mind if you let it.
Don't allow all these things to make you a lesser person.
You must own your mind.
Don't let life own yours.
Sunrise, sun goes down.
So that means there is a up, there is a down.
Since we are born, we have inhaled 50% of our times,
we have exhaled 50% of our times.
Always the exchange between left and right, up and down,
bright and dark, in and out. Success and failure. It's just that this world is not propagating failure
to you. It is propagating success to you. So our mind is looking for success. If you quit,
it's really easy to predict your future. But if you don't quit, if you go for it,
with no proof, you can't quantify it. Your friends are going to look at you sideways. But
you'll have the opportunity to play in the game and stop sitting on the sidelines.
And you might fail for a while.
And you might have to pay your success tax.
And you might have to go through seven failures, nine failures, 12 failures.
You might be sleepless at night wondering why the heck you're doing it.
But on the other side of that, you get to see who you're meant to be, who God designed you to be and tap into your full potential and there's nothing better.
