And if you never make it, at least you will finish this world going somewhere, not just setting, saying, man, if only. There are no if onlies. There is. what are we going to do now? Don't stop when you're tired. Stop when you're done. What is the best advice you've ever had or received? Do so much work, it would be unreasonable for you not to be successful. You got to do it alone.
Starting point is 00:02:13 You got to do it broke. You got to do it scared. You got to do it when you don't know what's going to happen. You got to do it when you don't feel like it. You got to do it even when you're nervous. You got to do it even when you don't have the answers. Because you'll figure it out as you go. You know, that's the secret to manhood.
Starting point is 00:02:29 promise me one thing bro promise me that for the next six months you'll give it your all no averageness no laziness no excuses just pure effort because truth be told that's all that you're missing it's just effort if you just hone in block out the noise get off the ground get off your phone tell your weaknesses no and tell your strengths yes i promise you by the end of the year you'll be in a totally different situation but i can't want it more than you you got to make that choice just keep stacking days. All these things are going to start piling up on you, bro. And bro, I know you weren't built to be average. You were built to have riches. You were built to have the body you want, the physique that you want, the dreams that you want. You were built to have these things. And yet you're content with being average. At the end of the day, the keys are in your hands, bro. It's on you to go make that shit count. The truth is, you must keep going. Why? Because you deserve to see what happens when all your hard work pays off. Keep going because you're stronger than you think. Keep going because each step
Starting point is 00:03:57 forward brings you one step closer to your goals. Keep going because the best is yet to come. You need to understand you can't win all the time and unless you lose you haven't even tried. Every fucking day I wake up and I don't want to do some f***. I'm like okay man do you want to be a today. Do you want to feel like a little bit? Do you want to walk around all day knowing that you could but you didn't? When that alarm clock goes off at four or five in the morning your mind says no you just say this is what you do. Normal people get normal results. Weird people get weird results. You literally can't do what everyone else does and not expect to get what everyone else has. By doing what everyone else does, you guarantee average results. Every day, do what you're supposed to do. And don't expect
Starting point is 00:04:46 some incredible results in one day or two days or 10 days. Worthwhile things take 100 days. The magic you are looking for is in the work you're avoiding. You got to keep working. Your time's going to come. You got to work. Your time is going to happen. You're here for a reason. But you got to be ready because if you're not, it's on you.
Starting point is 00:05:08 You get up. You don't want to go run. You go run. You don't want to go swim. You go to go swim. You don't want to make your bed. You make your bed. You know where you want to go.
Starting point is 00:05:15 You need your compelling future. You need to keep pushing forward, and you can't expect others to get your dreams. Because they weren't downloaded than them. They were downloaded in you. At the end of every day, you look yourself in the mirror and you ask yourself, did I get better today?
Starting point is 00:05:32 If the answer is yes, and you do that for five years, 10 years, 15 years, how much better are you going to be? And that's basketball, that's whether it's football. That doesn't matter. Are you getting better every single day? If you had to create a human, what would you put them through to make them tough?
Starting point is 00:05:49 It probably wouldn't be a really chill life. And you realize to do hard work, you can out work anybody. I'm how bad ass they are. But that's the part people don't want to dive into. You have to be obsessed. You have to be mission focused.
Starting point is 00:06:04 You have to be driven by something greater than what average people are driven by. People say, well, you have no idea hungry I am. Really? Yeah. What do you do about it today? Oh, not today, but tomorrow I'm going to, I'm going to, you ain't hungry, man. You just think you're hungry. You are not hungry.
Starting point is 00:06:20 You got to start diving into those things that you are afraid of. You don't gain confidence. by going to the spot that makes you feel good. It could be a false reality. You have to understand that anybody who's ever gotten better, anybody who's ever created, anybody who's ever built, anybody who's ever been something that you've looked up to
Starting point is 00:06:37 has gone through these hard times without quitting. You want to reach your goal? How to reach the goal the quickest? Be focused with your energy. Meaning be focused with the mind. Don't lose the goal from the mind. Whatever you do from the moment of waking up until the evening,
Starting point is 00:06:53 whatever you do, keep the goal in the mind. This is the quickest way of making this goal become real. It's just going to take time, dude. The reality of achievement, brother, is it takes way longer than we think. It's way harder than we think. What people understand is that they live for themselves, not knowing that you have the power within yourself to change millions of lives by facing life, by facing yourself.
Starting point is 00:07:21 And through that, I would die, never knowing that I had the power to change millions of lives. The most dangerous person in the world is a man that is broken and alone. To be exceptional means that you are the exception. It means that you are not normal. And so it's normal for normal people to find you abnormal if you do things that are not normal. Don't let people who have mediocre goals deter you from taking actions that make you great. We are in control of our momentum.
Starting point is 00:07:53 If you are in a terrible place right now, if your life sucks right now, and you're waiting around for things to get better, that's not what you should be doing. That's not how it works. You need to take action. Most of the limitations we have do not exist in reality. They exist only in your own mind. And one of the starting points of great achievement is to start questioning those self-limiting beliefs and throw them off and act as if they did not exist.
Starting point is 00:08:21 You have to go dark. Remember about that is you have to be quiet in your mind. Get away from people. When you pray for rain, you got to deal with the mud too. We agreed not to drink. We didn't do drugs. We didn't date. We didn't do anything.
Starting point is 00:08:33 We just literally obsessed from the time we woke up to the time we went to bed. That's literally all we did. Don't have acid. Don't have acid. When you think about it, if you're going to do something, if you've chosen to do something, whatever it is, easy, hard. If you give it your all and you don't have acid, win, lose, draw, get what you want, don't get what you want, whatever the outcome is.
Starting point is 00:08:53 If you don't half-ass it, at least you're not going to have to wonder, oh, would the outcome have been different? What if I did give it my own? And boy, wondering that is what keeps us up at night. You need to love pain. And I know, no pain, no this, whatever, all the, you know, the, Oh, my, no, this is real. You need to love pain.
Starting point is 00:09:18 No one's going to save you. No one's going to come out. the woods and say, hey, I got your back, man. I want to take you from all this. So the only person coming to save you is yourself. I am not like everybody else. I don't want to be like everybody else. I have something inside, which is burning. And I look around and this life and everything I see is not for me. I'm supposed to be something different. I have to be something different. And I'm going to change my life. What you know is very limited and what you don't know is limitless. And you of an opportunity every day to surround yourself with people to help you grow.
Starting point is 00:09:54 It hurts. It's heavy, but it builds you up. Every time you wanted to quit, every time life tried to break you, you chose to stand tall. That's what makes you great. Today ain't just about a piece of paper. It's about the grind, the sleepless nights, the sacrifices, the prayers you whisper when nobody was watching. It's all about those moments when you could have folded, but you didn't.
Starting point is 00:10:17 The fact that it is painful is the reason that it's working. Yeah. If it wasn't you stepping out, everybody else that has to try and step out into this new life faces this same thing too. Every single person does. That's why most people don't do it. Yeah. Like this is what hard feels like and this is why most people don't win. So continuing to push through and almost seeing that level of discomfort as a signal, it's like a way marker that's been planted in the ground.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Yes, more this way. Because if it was all just super easy, well, how are you going to get anything different to what everybody else has got if you do the same thing that everybody else does? And one of the best selectors for people not doing a thing is discomfort. So the route that has a lot of discomfort down it, usually on the other side of that ends up with something which is valuable. That pain you feel, that's the pain of success. You must be willing shoulder to that pain to get the success. The success is something that's a very lonely path in this world. because few are willing to make that down payment of pain for that futurement of success the better to life.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Very few are. And when you get the success, what comes with that is many. Success is a spotlight shining down on their missed opportunities, where they came up short, where they didn't quite have it inside and never went back to revisit it. Where failure is what stood. And so they've been proving failure for success. Failure is part of the recipes for success. You fail a thousand times before you succeed.
Starting point is 00:11:44 every single person has. It's the losers that fail once and quit. Every winner has dumb failed. The loser and the winner both failed. It's just that the winner gets back up and does it again. Stay hungry. Keep that fire in your soul. And stay true.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Always be real with yourself and the world. Because the world don't need no more copies. It need originals. And trust me, ain't nobody else that can do what you do like you do. You're one decision away. from changing literally you are one decision away from changing it's a decision away you're one decision away from changing your life i hope you make that decision tonight and i hope you make that decision with what you do tonight grab you fucking nuts for once in your life has some ownership
Starting point is 00:12:31 some credibility behind your actions and your words mean what you say do what you say follow through for something for one time in your life one time follow through in what you said feel a high that you've never felt before. When you follow through on things in life, guys, you achieve the confidence, the mentality that anything's possible. Fear is a mile wide and an inch deep. And so it looks like this ocean that you're going to step into and drown. But as soon as you step into it, you realize it was not that deep at all.
Starting point is 00:13:03 And you can keep walking through it. And I just love that visual because a lot of times when it's like we have this anxiety around this big decision we have to make, if you actually take the step and realize that it's not death, You're not going to drown immediately. There's plenty of other steps you can take from there, even if you get a little wet. I get an email the other day. This young man wants to be a ranger, but he's afraid to go to ranger school.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Not because how hard the training is, but because he's afraid if he fails, what people are going to say by judging him. One thing in life, this applies to everything in life. Any time you move from being normal to trying to be exceptional, people aren't going to like that shit. Those normal people, it makes them feel like shit, so they're going to judge you. And nowadays, it's very easy to be a coward. Those who have swords and know how to use them, but keep them sheathed, will inherit the world. One of the things I tell young men, well, and young women as well. But the young men really need to hear this more, I think, is that you should be a monster.
Starting point is 00:14:04 You know, because everyone says, well, you should be harmless, virtuous. You shouldn't do anyone any harm. You should sheath your competitive instinct. You shouldn't try to win. And you don't want to be too aggressive. You don't want to be too assertive. You want to take a back seat and all of that. It's like, no.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Today I'm no longer be a loser. Today I'm gonna change my hat. I'm gonna get on the path of success. I don't care how long that road is. I'm gonna see it through no matter what. Because you know what? I've been living enough years in this shit hole and I don't wanna be here anymore.
Starting point is 00:14:34 I'm not happy with this. And I'm tired of making excuses. I'm tired going through the same circle of emotion of shit. like it or not, for the time you wake up, to the time you go to bed. A lot of us are at war with ourselves. And within that war, you have several battles. Those battles are basically choices. No, I'm not talking about a war that you might find in the Coliseum.
Starting point is 00:14:58 I'm talking about a war that's in your brain. That war exists because life has so many choices. Within those choices, you got to make right decisions. You know what? Fuck that. When the alarm goes off in the morning, you have to wake up when you fail. Don't blame your mom. Don't blame your dad.
Starting point is 00:15:19 One person you have to blame is yourself. Once you change one thing, your mindset, you can attack everything. Trees don't hang around with the grass, even though they all started from the same place. Spend so much time on self-improvement that you have no time to criticize others. Never say never. Because limits like fears are often just an illusion. Don't make excuses. Some of the best athletes are the greatest athletes in the world
Starting point is 00:15:51 do things when they're uncomfortable. It's the best people who can overcome when they're tired, sure. Just get started. The longest time in the world is the hesitation between thought and action. I had to stop thinking normal. I had to stop thinking normal. I can no longer be a comment. man walking around doing common things.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Everything you do, you may have some support, you may not, but it's on you. You have to make the decision whether you want to be a badass or whether you want to just want to be mediocre. It's always you versus you. If you compete, if you're competing against other people, you know what I mean? Competing against others and you're going to become bitter. Eventually you'll become bitter. But if you compete against yourself, you'll become better.
Starting point is 00:16:35 You know what I mean? Not today. Maybe tomorrow. Well, guess what? That's why it's so easy to be great nowadays because most motherfuckers are weak. You are not ready. Like everyone else, you want to learn the way to win, but never to accept the way to lose. To accept defeat. To learn to die is to be liberated from it.
Starting point is 00:17:04 So when tomorrow comes, you must free your ambitious mind and learn the art of. dying. Really want to avoid all the critics in your life. Then do nothing, say nothing and be nothing. And you'll never get their attention. But if you are something and you're doing something, you become something, guess what? You get their attention. And that pisses them off because they can never be what you are now.
Starting point is 00:17:29 So the only thing they can do to make something feel good is try to bring you the f*** down. The hardest thing is to keep going. But we have to. Like we have to continue to hold on. And I would imagine for so many people out there that is probably things. the most difficult thing. Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of life change. Some people want to start with motivation. You don't start with motivation. But here's the best
Starting point is 00:17:54 motivation we've got going. The proof of our success. Focus and fail fast. Focus and fail fast. Learn quickly. Try something new. If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal and if they can't stop you. And you become something else entirely. Which is. Legend. It's all about focus. I don't care who you are, where you're from.
Starting point is 00:18:23 Doesn't matter. He's having a focus and having a purpose. You wake up every single day to get better today than you were yesterday. It doesn't matter with you. You're basketball player, hockey player, golf player, painter, right? Nothing matter. Right. You try to reach your full potential by getting better every single day.
Starting point is 00:18:40 And that's the question. A quote that has helped me immeasurably. over the last few years it's something that hit me and it knocked me for six and it's so simple and it's from a book called The Horse, the Boy, the Fox and the Mall
Starting point is 00:18:56 and it's basically an illustration book and one of my favourite quotes out of the whole book is a boy and a horse are in the woods and a boy says to the horse I can't see a way through and the horse says can you see your next step and a boy says yeah and a horse says then just take that
Starting point is 00:19:14 Wow. And it hit me. Yeah. All of the time, we look at the goal, we look at the future, we look at the end game, we look at how long a journey it is and we feel overwhelmed. Yeah. is a danger zone. It's a danger zone because what is it doing?
Starting point is 00:19:47 It's stopping you from your true potential. It's comfortable. I don't want to step out here because I don't know that area. Don't let anyone say you can't do something. Don't let your mind say, oh, I can't do it anymore. It's your body. You can. You just got to push past it.
Starting point is 00:20:02 At the end of my life, my tombstone, one thing it will have on it. No regrets. And that's a good life, man. I'm going to give it a shot. To help us some support. They get behind you, you know, and then you go for it, and you, bam, you overcome that step. The next step's even bigger and bigger. Next time, then you're on top of the mountain, man.
Starting point is 00:20:21 You only got one life. Why not go for it, right? Isn't it about time you become that person you knew you always could be? How do you do that? You break the old guys. You get the fuck out of bed when it's cold, when it's early. You do something away from the normality of what you've been doing. That's psychotic behavior.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Doing the same thing, expecting a different result. It doesn't work the way. You must switch up the main. frame, switch it up if you want a different result, man. Why not try it, man? Shock the system. Start with an earthquake, man. What I mean by that is, yeah, get up and fooling morning one day. Just one day and go for a run. Commit to one day and see how you feel as you're jogging it back in around five or something as your neighbors are still asleep. Or as you jogging it back in at six o'clock and your neighbor was just getting up grabbing the coffee looking outside, wondering, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:08 what the day is going to hold for them. Well, your day's already provided something for you. Your nanny, whatever you do, you've got to be a little bit gone to it. You're not all there. You've got to be almost insane to your craft. Not a lot of people can understand that. That's why I don't know about nothing else. I do not pay attention to nothing else. There was games of football on yesterday.
Starting point is 00:21:29 There was rugby, there was this, there was that. And like normal society is like, let's talk about this, and let's engage in this. And I just don't, I can't do it. I just don't, I'm... People are talking to me and in my, my head I'm I'm counting something I'm counting up a number or I'm knee deep in a sequence on the mat or on the feet that's my life sequences and numbers nothing else I cannot pay attention to
Starting point is 00:21:54 nothing else if your definition of success is win or lose giving everything you've got and growing or learning along the way then you're setting yourself up for success I really think the biggest cheat code in life is just going after it and not being concerned of whether or not you fail at one specific task instead understanding the big picture what your long-term goal is and knowing if you keep driving forward and never quit, in the end, you will succeed. The best time to plan a tree was 25 years ago.
Starting point is 00:22:23 The second and the best time is today. Plan the tree of sell a discipline. You can be anything you want to be. You could have all the town in the world, but if you don't do the right thing, then nothing happens. But when you do right, guess what? Good things happen. If you tell yourself the truth and the truth,
Starting point is 00:22:43 is I'm not happy with where I'm at. That's the truth. The truth is I can do more. The truth is I can be in better shape. The truth is I can work harder than I'm working right now. The truth is I can't do more for my family. The truth is I can do much better than I'm doing right now. And if that's the real truth, if that's what you believe, if you believe that to be the truth, you won't have to find more discipline. Discipline will find you. It will wake you up in the morning. Only the discipline ones are free in life. If you are in discipline, you are a slave to your moods. You are a slave to your passions.
Starting point is 00:23:20 You're smart, you're talented, you know a few things. But talent means nothing in this game if you don't make the right choices. There's plenty of talented people out there who never see the light of day anymore. Last thing takes discipline. Because this whole game is one big long shot. And if you don't have the discipline to stay away from the flyers or from the gambles or whatever else you want to call a stupid move, then my friend, I'm afraid to say,
Starting point is 00:23:40 one day you will go down. It's inevitable. You want my advice? Make a list of everything you want now, and then plan on spending the next 25 years of your life getting it slowly piece by piece. The person you have to spend the most time listening to in your life is yourself. Try not to lose their respect.
Starting point is 00:24:02 How on earth do you think that you're going to be able to move mountains and get out of that relationship, you don't like and move countries or change career when you can't not hit snooze even though last night you promised yourself that you weren't going to hit snooze and it's how people that are able to do extraordinary things have been able to get there if i'm running on a treadmill and i get to mile nine and i get complete cramp in one of my legs and i know i've told myself i'm going to run 10 kilometers today he goes i will have to limp the last mile even if no one's watching because i can't let the demons in and if i let the demons in they'll show up in the 11th round
Starting point is 00:24:36 of a championship fight when there's 50,000 people watching me in the audience, and I know deep in myself's story that I'm the type of person that quits when things get hard because I got off that treadmill at mile nine when no one was watching. The commitments we keep to ourselves and what we do when no one's watching
Starting point is 00:24:51 is the most persuasive evidence that governs everything we then do every day thereafter. Learn to say you to the world every once in a while. You have every right to. Just stop thinking. Worry.
