I'm Michael Shanks. I'll be playing the role of Squim Norton. And I am Jackson Bailey, and I'll be playing the part of Anton de Saussure. I'm Adam, and I'll be your dungeon master.

Previously. This creature is a sinister spectral figure robed in darkness. Bloom is struggling to get out of his sleeping bag. You charge onto the Shadow's hand, and as soon as you step onto it, you realize the mistake you have made. I forgot the saying.

Lilith looks you, Squim, in the eyes, rolls her eyes, and then charges in. I roll back, by the way. Are you aware of what this adventure is? It's a blast. Provide me with what is known as a compliment. All right. I mean, you could have been useful. I could have been. Now I will be a burden. You pack up camp, having just dealt with the dreaded Shadow Sand, and set off further into the desert.

The rest of the journey, it takes 11 days, not 10 days, but it goes uneventfully. Thank God. What a lovely uneventful few days, guys. A nice few days for me to just reflect, think about the choices I've made in my life. You've been silent for four days, like gazing off into the night sky.

It's very noticeable because it's white marble just in the middle of this yellow sand desert. It looks like a, what would you call it? The Greek Parthenon, is it? With those, you know, those Greek pillars. Colosseum. Yeah, a little bit like that.

It's got that sort of a style to it. Corinthian pillars. Yeah. You're the first person to see it. And you can also tell from the way the sand around it is sort of shaped. This is obviously some giant pyramid that has just been covered by sand. It's impossible to tell the true size of this place but you fancy it to be big do we know what pyramids are yeah you know it's an old elven

architecture gloom looks up from his map he's changed out his wide brim hat for one of those you know like a helmet yeah he's got like shades coming around. He's also wearing a little bit of a safari suit. I'm not going to lie. Good, good. He looks up from his map and sees the jutting out little bit. And he says, yes, yes, that's it. That's it. Quickly, we must make haste to get there before nightfall.

What happens at nightfall? It gets cold. I want to be inside. Oh, okay. That makes sense. Fail. Your surveyor, how did he arrive here no no no the surveyor just passed through and saw it marked it on the map for me okay how far away

are we from the from the structure only an hour okay all right okay that's a bad face uh you need to make haste to get there so you need to you know whip your um with my camel sue, Lilip and Gloom cannot get any extra speed out of their camels. D-cards. Shane, you are unseated from your camel. Your camel does not appreciate being whipped one little bit and so rears backwards

It starts to slow down. It's still faster than you, however. So, the two people on camels are going to need to try and catch it.

We'll catch you away with camels. You can just say that you don't want to try, though. Don't feel like you're obligated. I feel like I've let the team down too many times. Yes, use your earthen thing. That'll murder the camel. It deals damage to the camel just letting you down. No, I'll chase it down.

So the camel is obviously starting to feel the effects of negative six strength. And it's starting to slow down. And, Squim, you're able to catch it. You grab its lead and you pull it back. Nice. Pull it back and be like, you probably can... Did you lose something? As I go off, I'll smug like.

The camel, when you bring it back, collapses. It can't carry the weight anymore. Alright then. I realise my mistake. But they have lost nothing. That's true. I like, get my gear on it. In six days time, the camel will be better again. And um...

You can lay down it on the back camel and you can ride with me. Yeah, you shift some weight around. Yeah. It's fine. We do that. I don't have that much stuff on my camel, so. And you're a tiny boy. Yeah, that's fine.

Nighttime happens like a long time before you get to the structure. It was an hour away. It took you two hours to get there. Damn. But you are in the structure before it gets too cold, I guess. The sand is still warm from the previous day by the time that you're in. This level is entirely empty. It's just one large open area except for a single stone jutting out in the dead center.

On the stone, it's just packed tight with writing. Absolutely tiny, but all over the stone. Well, if only somebody could speak elven oh shit i do do i have a look i look at the writing and see if i can distinguish what it says speak friend and enter speak friend and enter okay you can identify one you know that there are a lot of different languages here it's not not just Elven. One of the languages looks like an archaic and ancient form of Elven that you cannot read. Is there halfling, dwarven, or common on it?

I'll try and read it too. You see archaic versions of both of those languages, but you also cannot decipher them. Is there common on it? No. Common was not a language when this stone was carved. Is there a picture of the rapper Common on it? Yeah

If it was just elves, then why would it not be just elven written there? It was... It's very unlikely that any creature other than an elf made this.

This is very elven in nature or their particular brand of elven in nature. I think maybe they just wanted to warn anyone against grave robbing or something. Everyone. on gloom you can't detect magic without his knowledge okay wait till he goes to sleep requires you to say words and do an arcane gesture and the words aren't like what's everyone doing tonight just like sounds innocuous. And the hand gesture is kind of like opening it up in a shrug. No, there's a magical language that you must speak. Yeah, just do it while he's going to sleep. Just creep over his bed and be like, I'm just going to cast the detect magic on the door.

Yeah. Whilst we're here, I might just actually do that. Like, sincerely, let's just start. I'm just going to detect magic on the surroundings, on the door. on the door. Do you announce to anyone that you're about to do that? Hey, I'm detecting magic. Look at me. He said, picking up on Adam's cue.

So therefore they're not going to suspect it when I kind of do it under my breath later. Gloom turns to you and says, I would advise against that, my friend. And I say, oh, would you? And I cross my arms. The magic here is very powerful. Trying to see its aura might blind you. I do like my eyes. Not permanently, but it'll hurt.

Yeah, neither of you know what these words are. You can hear the magic in the words, but what they could mean and what they are is completely foreign to you. After he's finished, a massive crack or rift appears in the seal, and the seal breaks neatly in two beneath it is a hole just into the ground denzel i've got a bad feeling about this gloom and lila break out some sets of rope and grappling hooks um i i use my low light vision and go to the edge of the of the hole and just see if i can make out some some anything immediately. Your low light vision allows you to see twice as far as a regular human in conditions

of low light. I'm assuming it's lowly lit in there. It's not like some techno disco wonderland. The only light down there is the light that's coming in from the hole. You can see it's a roughly square room. There's sand piled up all over the place.

It looks like sand has been slowly coming in, or maybe, you know, coming in through a wall or something like that. Hard to tell. You can see three doorways. Let me put out the little thing for you. It's happening! We're using the little what do you call them?

sort of latch i would say more than a handle that you could open to open and close them beyond that the room is pretty barren except for the sand. You do, however, feel this heavy just feeling. You feel heavier here. Just the smell of death is in the air. Oh, good. That's what you want. Smells like death, boys. Got it.

Yeah that's a good signal Aren't we just fucking delight? Guys, we should start a band. We should. You. The humdingers. You detect a faint aura of necromancy just all over the place. There's some other types of magic that you can detect.

Conjuration, which is summoning magic. So not just to summon a creature, but also to make water or something like that. Okay, cool. Who wants to climb down next? I will. It's a long climb down, just letting you know. That's fine. I see you next.

You actually probably shouldn't drink any healing right now. Why? Because it's kind of a waste for any healing. Yeah. Wait till you're down like one. Actually, you know what? Lillip, she has some level zero spells. It's only a hit point each, but she's not using them for anything else.

Cool. Good. Healed up. You recover five hit points. I'll take it. Eleven's just as good. She has one more, but she's saving that. Just in case.

All right, Gloom. There's three doors. Which one? Gloom looks at each of the doors in turn and says, I don't know. You lead the way. We're exploring this entire place regardless. All right.

Is there any markings on each one? No, they're barren. All right. For what it's worth, turning to the one wall of the room that doesn't have a door, is there anything of significance on that? Good idea. Like I said, like a map that says, like, all of these doors suck except this one. You are here.

You move aside some sand and you do see a very pretty mural. It's not of anything in particular, just a bunch of elves standing around. It's nice worksmanship, but the years have not been kind to it. Lilip, what do you make of this? It's pretty, like you. You say that? I say that. Highs or lows?

Highs. Because your love has taken me higher, Lilip. You probably evil... You notice she doesn't say anything, but you notice she blushes when you say that. You're in. I'm detecting magic in her heart. Barely a pun.

Yeah, I would say it's not even barely a pun. Which it straight up isn't anyway okay so wait wait it's a it's a mural of elves standing around just yeah it's just a nice pretty picture of presumably or possibly the um it's a self-portrait of some kind do i recognize any of the faces 50 000 years ago you would not know elves areves are long-lived, but not that long. Cool. Roll a d6. And we'll do it.

One, two, green. Five. Go to the brown. All right. We'll call that the door to your left. Yes. Cool. So you open that one, and that leads you into a short corridor with another door at the end.

Okay. All right. Everyone just wait. I'm just going to walk down the corridor. Take that damage. With my shield out. Highs or lows? Oh, highs.

Oh, highs, whatever. Okay, you step on a plate. Yep. Click. It goes in. You hear very quickly like a something in a wall happening. Yep. And then it doesn't come out.

A spear, a single spear comes out halfway but the trap is so old that it's broken all right just break that spear break the spiral clever do you now have a spear you have like half a spear hey it's something break that spear like. It's more like just a long dagger that you have. Half a dagger? Not what I said. Half a dagger is like a shaving implement. Yes? I look at the floor.

Shane's already stood on a plate that was clearly a button. Are there similar pressure pads throughout the rest of the floor? The workmanship is very good. Even with your keen elven eyes you would be hard pressed to find other ones can i can i spider walk and climb across the walls to get to the door oh clever you do that you climb along the wall you get to the door on the other end sick you spider would you like to open it i'm gonna open the door um all right you don't want me if i die tell my i'm just single, Lilith.
