Starting point is 00:00:09 And welcome back to your favorite podcast. De-influenced. I am devastated this morning looking at my social media. You don't even know. What? I'm devastated. Views down. Well, that too.
Starting point is 00:00:23 But no, I found out that there was an event that I was supposed to attend that Travis Kelsey attended. I heard about this. And if I would have gone. So you guys know my girlfriend, Isabel, she launched Dolce. Glow, she had an influencer event at Nobu in L.A. And Travis Kelsey, here's the only thing that does kind of put me to like, I have peace over. Yeah. Is the fact that it was apparently coincidence that Travis Kelsey showed up that night because, and he sat at a completely different table. But Isabel had like an influencer dinner like Olivia Colpo, uh, Christian McCaffrey, like her husband. A bunch of
Starting point is 00:01:05 influencers were there all in LA. And then Travis Kelsey was there. So at first, I'm like, Travis Kelsey's friends with Christian McCaffrey. And like, is he going to like, didn't you all just play each other? Yeah. Like, are we going to see Taylor and Olivia Colpo hanging out? Like, that would be pretty epic. Um, but then I found out that they were sitting at different tables. But it would be very hard. Like for me, if we had a divvy influencer event and then like, Killet Trav is like three seats down. Like, I don't know if I would be with my people at the divvy. I think I would You'd leave. I would leave. Hey, good on Isabel, though. I know it's coincidence, but I hope that she capitalized on that press so hard. I know. I'm so proud of her. Yeah, she's a hustler. She's a hustler.
Starting point is 00:01:45 People love her. Celebrities love her because she was a good person and they want like good people around them. Who else was at the event, do you know? I don't know. I couldn't look. You know, like I was so upset. I was like, I don't even really want to know who else was there because I was so bummed. I felt so much Fomo. I've never been a nobu. Have you? It's going to be a no for me. Yeah. Not a big sushi gal. Yeah, not a big sushi gal, but like, I would go. I'm sure they have some good veggie rolls. I bet those are some fresh veggies. It's just crazy that that's like the one spot that all the celebrities hang out of it.
Starting point is 00:02:15 No, boo, they love it. I bet because it's kind of like private too and expensive. So it's like very exclusive. I heard it's outrageous. We always go to another celebrity hotspot in L.A. is Craggs. But I've never seen a celebrity there. Yeah, me either. But it's so dark in there.
Starting point is 00:02:32 I feel like if, and I bet they have special tables for the celebs. That makes sense. I feel like Craig takes care of his people. Yeah. He's a good guy. He's a good guy. He did meet him. Nice guy.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Really good bread and butter there. Yeah. What's been going on with you? Well, we launched our big ass luxury candle sitting here. It actually smells like it's so good. It smells like a lady. It smells like a really masculine, feminine lady. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:02:59 It has amber, sandalwood, a little bit of vanilla, but not really. Like I'm not a huge vanilla girl. Like it just has like a little hit of vanilla. But yeah, this is an amazing. We had a shoot with my 97 year old grandma Goey. We call her Goey because her name's Gloria. And I couldn't pronounce Gloria when I was little.
Starting point is 00:03:19 She always called her Goey. And Goey was in the shoot. If I'll go to my Instagram and watch the video, it is probably one of my favorite pieces of content that we've ever created. Yeah, she's so, she acts like she doesn't watch anything on Instagram, but she knows. Well, because Tia,
Starting point is 00:03:34 my aunt Tia goes. And shows her, yeah, every day. It's so, it's so cute. She's so cute. She's smart. She's 97. Every time you go over, I'm like, go, wait, what you did? She's like, waiting for the good Lord to take me.
Starting point is 00:03:44 I'm like, why don't you call your friends? She's like, oh, my friends are dead. Like, that's just going for you. But like, she's still so sharp. Like, I'm like, goy, I don't think you're going anywhere anytime soon. Like, I'm sorry. Yeah. She's like, she's a grandma that's convinced that we're in the end times.
Starting point is 00:03:59 But aren't we all? Yeah, we're all pretty convinced. It's like a 90% probably. What does the end times mean like in the next 300 years? Is that the end times? Yeah, that's the hard part. They never gave us a scale. They never gave us a scale.
Starting point is 00:04:11 For how long these end times are. How long is a day according to God? But like every generation I think says probably we're in the end times. You know like when the television came out, they're like in times. TikTok comes out. We're like in times. No, Gowie was saying that when the picture show, that's what she called it, when the picture show came out, which was the movie theater,
Starting point is 00:04:29 her parents wouldn't allow her to go because they were so, they were like so concerned was going to like infiltrate her brain and mess up her brain with all the it did it did that's the problem is it kind of did okay so if that was bad think about TikTok yeah i know TikTok is next level for the next gen but yeah so we've been launching this candle um was really sweet actually i um met the owners of big ass luxury candles from a divvy event that i hosted in 2021 um to support like or was it 2022. I think it was 2021. Was it? It's so weird that that was after the pandemic. I know. What is time? Oh my gosh. The past four years have just like, I know. But yeah, so I met them at a divvy event, and they were literally like filling candles in their garage. And these candles are amazing. They're 10 pounds.
Starting point is 00:05:18 They burn up to 500 hours. They smell so good. And I was just so sick of having like little candles around my house that just, you know, you burn them for two weeks or out. These candles last you like, I've had some for over a year or two. The one, the pineapple one in our entryway, the big one, like we've had literally like three years. They last so long and they're so large that you actually have to buy the big ass luxury lighter that is long enough to light them
Starting point is 00:05:42 so you can reach your whole arm in and light it. That was funny. Whenever we saw Goey, I gave her the big candle and she goes, honey, this candle's going to outlive me. Yeah, I know. We had to like strategically put it in her house too because it's heavy enough
Starting point is 00:05:56 that she probably wouldn't be able to lift it herself. Yeah. So we launched a candle that was really exciting. You guys are loving it. We only have a few units left. It feels like it's been a while since we've recorded this podcast. Do you feel like that? Yeah, it's because we did an interview last week, Matt and Abby. People are loving that episode too. Yeah. Having interviews and having people over to our home, like how do you feel about that? Do you like whenever we have people on the podcast? I'm very anti-interview. I will publicly say it. I've never liked interviews because the buildup for me is like social anxiety. Yeah. I can walk into any room, any party and be like, I'm going to have a good time. I'll meet some people. I'll talk and I'll ask a lot of questions. But when it's in a formal
Starting point is 00:06:37 interview setting or you're being filmed. Yeah, the 48, 72 hours like building up to that is hard. But you're so good at interviewing people. So I, and then I love the interview. Like I loved our mat. That was probably my favorite interview we've ever done. Yeah. You killed it. Because I'm like, what's your favorite color? Jordan's like, tell me about your deepest target. I like people. I like people. who are popular on the internet because I feel like the internet may know one side, but we've been in the internet so long that I have deeper questions of like what is happening behind the scenes. Yeah. And I feel like we understand the nuance of the business enough to ask them those questions.
Starting point is 00:07:14 And so I really like, I mean, the whole purpose of this podcast is de-influence. I loved the ability to de-influence them on our podcast. Do you feel like they received it well? Yeah. I mean, I don't feel like any, nothing ever like is, And being spirited. Yeah, no, of course. It's from a place of genuine, authentic curiosity.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Yeah. Which is what I think people have as well. Well, we had a good week. We took, tell me about what we did with Stratton. Oh, we took Stratton to the Supercross, which is the dirt bike races. Funny story about this. You know, the entire day, I'm like, hey, we're going to Supercross. We're going to Supercross.
Starting point is 00:07:51 You know, we're going to the dirt bike races. You said the Dirt Bike show. The Dirt Bike Show. And so Danny had this. impression the entire day. Up until truly we were about to turn in the parking lot. She's like, Jordan, Stratton's so young. Like, what's he going to do just looking at dirt bikes? And I was like, Danny, do you understand that they like import dirt into the Cowboys Stadium and they like jump and eight people or 16 people race each other at one time? So she just had no concept. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:08:18 we got Stratton the noise canceling headphones. So cute. I generally every weekend try and find something to do with our kids, but this weekend was different because we were taking Stella on his trip with us to Miami. And so I really wanted to, she was going one-on-one with us. So I really wanted to have one-on-one time with Stratton-two. And so we took him to this thing. He's pretty young, but the guy loved it. Yeah, but something really sad happened that day. Yes. And I just want to say, okay, so going into Supercross, I'm going to be honest, I didn't know that something like this truly existed. It kind of reminded in me of a Disney Channel movie. Because you know like in Disney Channel movies, they always had like weird hobbies.
Starting point is 00:09:01 There was a motocross. There was a motocross. Yeah, right? It was called like motocross. Yeah, it was called motocross. And so like I was like, this is probably a very small subset of the population that will attend this event. I did not envision it being as big.
Starting point is 00:09:14 I mean, it literally felt like I was the way of a Taylor Swift concert. People were obsessed. It's like this whole culture. And like the people are like cool. Like go. Like they were like normal people. Oh yeah. Like very cool people.
Starting point is 00:09:26 And we met those two guys behind us that were like the biggest Supercross fans. Like so nice. Like I just asked them when we got there. I was like, so how did these races work? And they talked. They've been going for like 20 years. They're like, man, this is what we do together as brothers. Like we've been coming since 2009.
Starting point is 00:09:41 They were little. Like their parents took them. So yeah. Anyway, I discovered this whole like culture on Instagram too. So they're like, let me tell you something. If you think that wags are hot, like you need to see the wives of these. super cross. What are wags? Wives of athletes, of
Starting point is 00:10:01 Wags, right? Wage of Wog? No, wags. Wife of perfect, like, what are they called? Isn't that a TV show? I always heard them like cleat chasers. No, the wives of, they're called wags. Wait, hold on, hold on. There's a name. Someone said a hockey one, cleat chasers, it was like, hold in. Gosh, I got to look up the equate chasers.
Starting point is 00:10:26 equivalent of pleat chasers for the hockey ones. Those are so good. Wives or girlfriends of high profile sportsmen and women. So wags. They're called wives of. What's a wag? Is this an acronym? Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:40 Wives or girlfriends of, oh wait. That would be. Is an acronym used to refer to wives and girlfriends of high profile sportsmen. The term singular form, blah, blah, blah. Wives. Puck bunnies. Oh, wives of. Fuck money.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Fuck monies, yeah. Wives of, look, like, wags. Wives of athletes. So W.A. or girlfriends. Wags. Wags. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:07 I don't know. I guess. If you think wags are hot, you need to look at these super cross, like professional athletes and their wives. Their wives are so hot. It is like this whole culture of like, like, I was. And the difference between them too is like they would beat me in a fist fight.
Starting point is 00:11:26 the super cross? No, the wives of super cross people. Like they're like, they're like beautiful, but they're like, if they punched me, like I'd be knocked out.
Starting point is 00:11:37 They were like super, they're all like models. Really? They're like sweet, gorgeous, like Victoria's Secret model looking girls. Huh. Yes,
Starting point is 00:11:45 that's what I was like, trust me, I went down this whole rabbit hole. So anyway, we ended up leaving the show early because, you know, we had stradden with us.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Yeah. And then that night, woke up to the status news of one of the guys that we watched race, Austin Faulkner, had a horrible crash while at the AT&T center. Horrible. And apparently he's had like just like the worst luck with his career. Like he's had to take like six months off a year.
Starting point is 00:12:10 He's had just like constant injuries and just like bad luck. And you guys, this crash, they posted it on like an Instagram like a Dallas news Instagram account that I follow was one of the most brutal, brutal crashes. Like I watching it, I woke Jordan up in the middle of the night like 3 a.m. to show it to him because I was so devastated. We had just seen him win his his division or whatever. And so he was competing at the very end of the night. Anyway, I honestly thought he was going to be like paralyzed. I thought he broke his neck. He literally landed straight on his head. It looked like his neck just like snapped. Like it was so, so bad. Well, this guy is so tough. He ended up standing up walking
Starting point is 00:12:48 out of the stadium, even though you could see he was in like the most pain. Anyway, so I had been following up, following his wife following, like, all of the Supercross, like, commo-you-on-in-it-in-it-now. Yes, because I was so concerned about him, and he just went dark. And this guy is, like, 25, like, they're babies, you know? And so I was so worried about him, come to find out, he's fine. He broke, like, two vertebrae in his back. He broke his shoulder.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Oh, he'll be back for. Yeah, his dad, like, on Instagram was like, he'll be back. He's good. His wife has posted, like, these guys are tough. Do you think that at all he just is fronting with, and minimum? minimizing the injuries so that sponsors don't back out? Yeah, I mean, I thought about that. But like, it was because I mean, that was pretty brutal.
Starting point is 00:13:31 It was so brutal. I also thought it was a lot of people in the comments agreed with me. Usually when there's that severe of an injury, you put them in a neck brace and then you wheel them out. It was very odd that they put him in a neck brace and then walked him out. That was very odd. I thought that was odd too. Like he should have been on a stretcher for that.
Starting point is 00:13:49 But maybe that's just a subculture thing that we don't understand is like you don't walk you don't get wheeled out of supercross you walk out no matter what kind of like a thing like even on the football field it's like when you know you take a knee because someone's hurt and if they walk off like you clap because it kind of signifies that they're okay but honestly that kid probably had so much adrenaline running through his body he probably didn't know what was going on yeah like so the first thing he's going to say okay I'm gonna walk off when he probably shouldn't have yeah to be clear we we didn't see that race we had actually left early because strategy was over it yeah but he's a baby so um so um anyway
Starting point is 00:14:23 We took Stella on the business trip to Miami. So sweet. You know, you can talk about that if you want. But the biggest thing that I realized in our one-on-one dates with our kids is they prefer to be together. She missed him so much. Yeah. That was a very interesting kind of like parental learning moment for me was like I thought that. Because you and I are siblings that were so far, we were five years apart from our siblings.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Yeah. Sometimes like I just feel like it's, and I'm sure most parents with like young kids feel this, but I feel guilt because I'm like, oh, man, like one is getting more attention than the other. And it kind of varies like week by week. But so I was like, oh, well, let's just intentionally spend time with both. And kind of the entire time, they're like, where's Bubba? Or let's go home to Bubba, you know? So when I was saying, when I was telling Stella that we were going to Miami the night before I got in her crib, I was explaining to her.
Starting point is 00:15:12 And she goes, but what about my Bubba? You have to bring my Bubba because he's my brother. It was so sweet. It's also like, you know, Stratton's kind of going through that phase where he'll like is hitting things like he'll hit stella it's like sometimes like hit me and so we're having to like teach him like hey don't hit and so he thinks it's funny he thinks it's funny and then i get mad and he still laughs well he's pushing boundaries for sure and so like you know there was one time where stella was there uh you know this weekend and i was like baba do not hit and i kind of had to say in a stern
Starting point is 00:15:43 voice and stella goes hey hey hey don't say that that's my baba like defending strutton from like getting in trouble but then they'll turn around and fight. Yeah. You know, the next, so it's just funny. It's so sweet.
Starting point is 00:15:56 It makes you want, it makes you want more, doesn't it? When they, when I start to see them as like a little clan, you know, that we are just like, parentally responsible for.
Starting point is 00:16:04 It's kind of like an us first them. Yeah. You know, it's like, it's like they're on a team and like we're on a team. Like that is where I'm like, hey, yeah,
Starting point is 00:16:11 let's have like seven of these things and like, let's just like stack our odds against us. Because it's like, that's the type of team that you want to build in a family. And it's hard to build. it's just hard to build a team with one or two. You kind of just like want to see how big you can make your team. No, I definitely want a big team.
Starting point is 00:16:31 Yeah. For sure. Seeing Stratton in a tuxedo this past week, too, was one of the highlights of my life. That was so precious. We did a photo shoot for electric picks. I'm launching kind of like a mini collection with them. That's diamond inspired.
Starting point is 00:16:48 It's not real diamonds. But to get the look. and we did a Marilyn Monroe photo shoot had my dad, my brother, Jordan, and Stratton in tuxedos to recreate the Diamonds Are Girls' best friend, you know, a video with Marilyn Monroe. And it was so freaking cute seeing Stratton in that tuxedo. Yeah, he's a... I have, all the men in my lives are very good sports, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Like, everybody, like, is so supportive. Nobody's like, ugh, I don't want to do this. Yeah. We love you. We love you. We're here for it. Yeah, so it's talking about I have been watching a lot of TV. A lot of TV.
Starting point is 00:17:29 No, it's not, well, we've been traveling and I will say when I am flying to and from places, I like to download a lot of shows so that I just have them on my phone and like I can watch them on the airplane. Yeah. Before we even get into your shows, can I ask you something about this week? Yeah. So this past week, I've been wanting to kind of do a little checkpoint with you. this past week, I feel like you have kind of taken a step back in terms of like control and pressure and,
Starting point is 00:17:59 am I right? Yeah. Like I feel like I've like like, like you've let me kind of like guide and lead a little bit more things. You've kind of taken a step back on some things. I have sensed an overall balance from you. Yeah. How have you felt during this this past week? It's a really interesting checkpoint.
Starting point is 00:18:18 Yeah. Like, I feel, to be completely honest, to make it more practical for people listening, I feel like you have let me lead more in our family, in our work, et cetera, more this week. And the result of that, in my perception, is that you have been able to watch your shows, watch your stories. You've been able to, I think you've been, I felt you be more present, like, at home and with the kids and felt freedom to be able to do that. What's your perception of this past week? You know, my ambition is kind of like tied to my menstrual cycle.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Wow. The moon. The moon. So it will always go in, you know, cycles, I would say. This week I consciously made an effort to like just put, like my job is a job. And like I'm going to do my job from nine to five. But it's not going to be like my everything. But there's like parts to me that kind of.
Starting point is 00:19:17 miss it a little bit, you know, just feeling the thrill, the thrill and the drive. Like, and not that I don't have the drive. Like, I just, and one thing about me, like, I can't half ASS something. Like, I, if I'm going to do it, like, I want it to be done, like, as well as I could possibly do it. But this week, I was, like, kind of fighting demons with myself. And I was like, you know what? Just do what you're supposed to do. And then don't stress about it. And then, so, yeah, I've just felt, like, very content. But I also feel like a failure. Like I'm not going to lie. Really?
Starting point is 00:19:49 Yeah. What specifically has made you feel like a failure? Because everything's going so well. I know. I guess the fact that I don't have anxiety, I'm like, I'm feeling. Boom. Bingo, bingo, bongo. I feel that.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Like I, I, I, what I'm, what I'm hoping we can do in a very public and safe spot for the hundreds of thousands of people listening is I'm hoping that we can acknowledge that success is not tied to your anxiety. Anxiety. and like, like, everything is good. But the reason I usually have so much anxiety is because I care so much about something. Like, I care so much and I want it to do well and I put a lot of pressure myself. Right.
Starting point is 00:20:27 I just this week have it put pressure on myself. Like, there's certain KPIs and numbers that I do try to hit, whether it's like story views or a certain lot of reels that I put out or growth in followers. And like this week, I was just like, I'm not playing the game. Like, I'm just going to like do what I need to do and do it well. and then put my phone away. And I think that that let the people around you, though, like help carry some of that load, right?
Starting point is 00:20:55 Yeah, but there's a part of me that's like, nobody's going to do it like me. Yeah, I mean. Which I know, it's true. Like, I'm sorry, it's true. Nobody, no one is ever going to be able to do it like me, but like that's the part of like, I have to relinquish the control and be like,
Starting point is 00:21:09 okay, is 80% of the way I would do it okay. Right. I would encourage you to go one more week watching your Netflix shows. I would die. I would become irrelevant. I would have zero followers. I would die. Everything would die.
Starting point is 00:21:24 That's a deeper issue. Okay, we'll talk about this later and see how this experiment goes. But yes, you have been watching a lot of shows. It's not a lot of shows. I watch them. Like, when I'm getting ready, I listen to a podcast. I, well, I recently got hooked. I've been watching Love is mine.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Okay, that's what I've been watching, which, Wednesday. day the new episodes came out, so I binge him. Yes, I'm a bit, I'm a binger. But you've also been, you, you binge something that still to this day shocks me. Yeah. It disturbs me on a level that I never thought I could be disturbed. I watched the Wendy Williams documentary on Lifetime. Just so you know, you can get the first episodes, first two episodes free, but then you have to sign in with your cable network, which we did not have one. The YouTube TV was not like associated. So I had to buy the last two episodes, but they're only $2.99. I was like, what do we work for if I can't watch the last two episodes?
Starting point is 00:22:16 Wendy Williams' documentary. And so this documentary is extremely disturbing. It's almost like I felt like I was doing wrong by even watching it. Yeah, it felt icky. It felt really icky. It is a great view into how the system or the, what do I call it? The institution. The institution can take advantage of celebrities.
Starting point is 00:22:42 or wealth that are people that are struggling with mental health. It really made me think about like Brady Spears, Amanda Binds, people that are just like not well. And you have people coming in trying to help, but like what does help even really, like what kind of help do they really actually need? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:00 Anyway, Wendy Williams has had a TV show, like a daytime TV show for, I think 14 years, very popular. The past like four years, her health really started to decline, came out. She publicly admitted that she was like a severe alcoholic, like drinking like a whole, those party vodka's every single day. She was also like doing cocaine for 10 years.
Starting point is 00:23:23 So she's like struggled with substance abuse problems for a long time. In this documentary, it is like she has some other health issues in autoimmune disease. Like she can barely walk. Her eyes have started to bulge out of her head because of her thyroid problems, like literally bulge. And then she started to have Alzheimer's, alcohol-induced dementia. So on top of like all these other health issues, she's also dealing with like severe alcoholism. And this production company tries to come in and record or document
Starting point is 00:23:53 her comeback. Essentially, she wanted to come back to television. Her show got canceled because she was so unhealthy and couldn't show up to work. And she wants to have this comeback. Well, while the production crew is actually filming everything, they discover like way deeper issues, like issues with her guardianship, her financials, her health. And you basically watch this like, it's just so sad to see. Like you, you watch this team around her that has, she had just hired in the past couple of years. This is not family.
Starting point is 00:24:26 This is not her kids that are enabling her in all of these decisions where she's waking up, you know, at 4 o'clock because she's so hungover. She's so mentally ill. And this team around her, they're like, yes people. You just keep saying yes, yes, yes. And all her family is like begging her to stop and slow down. And it's just really sad to see how like when you're not around the right people, how much of a like decline that can affect your health. But what's hard too is like when you're mentally ill, how are you wise enough to make those decisions?
Starting point is 00:25:01 Yeah. Like it's just it's I am shocked that they actually let that show come to light. Yeah, it's a really, it's probably one of the most, like, fascinating documentaries I've ever seen about how the business of celebrity or Hollywood works, right? Because it's not, in my opinion, I only watched like one and a half episodes. Like, I watched the first one and then I watched the last one with you. And I think why it was like so just triggering or odd to me is that I don't think that just saying, oh, well, her handlers are evil is like the full story. It's like I think that there is a responsibility that they had in definitely acknowledging that she was like not there enough to be making decisions for themselves. But it's probably a weird dynamic when she is your boss.
Starting point is 00:25:50 Like she is like the one telling you and giving you orders. And she is telling you, hey, I am healthy enough. All I want to do is get back on TV. And then they're moving in that direction to do so. Yeah, I see that point. But the one thing I will say. And like I'm telling you all like her publicists would come in. And she would be blacked out throwing up so sick.
Starting point is 00:26:12 And then they'd be like, okay, Wendy, we're going to a universal meeting. When it's like so obvious, this girl needs to go seek help. Like she needs to be in rehab. She needs to be with her family. And they're just kind of enabling her. And like, I don't know. I just believe like deep down, like we all have a moral compass. We know what's right and wrong.
Starting point is 00:26:28 And like Sean, who's her publicist in that show where she's the one that like enables her all the time, gives her, like buys her alcohol, buys her drinks whenever they're out. if this was Sean's own mother or her sister, like would she be doing the same thing? Absolutely not. Right. It's like these people are taking advantage of her. Like there's no,
Starting point is 00:26:45 like everybody knows what they're doing. They're getting a cut of the pie. They're like stealing money from her. Like it's just, it's just wrong. The other thing I learned from this documentary is how screwed up this whole like guardianship thing is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:56 So what was weird about the documentary, and I don't think we're spoiling much, but like this state appointed her a professional guardian saying that her own family was not equipped to be the guardians for her. Right. And so Wells Fargo was able to lock all of her assets and lock all of her funds. And now it's in the presence of this professional guardian, this stranger that the family's never met. The family's not allowed to contact. The only piece of the puzzle that we may be missing is like if the family like actually did steal money or wrong her in some ways. And that's what the court
Starting point is 00:27:29 decided. Her son withdrew $100,000. But he says he did it with his mom's permission. But his mom's also like not So it's like, how do you know what's... It's so murky. It's so gray. But it's like the celebrity, she is kind of the epitome of like what happens to, I think, the soul when they think that fame and fortune is going to make them happy. It's like you have this, this, you know, addicted to alcohol, addicted to drugs person who thinks that all she needs is to get back on TV.
Starting point is 00:28:00 And that is probably the saddest part of it for me is like... Yeah, but when you have dementia, you just remember these certain, like thoughts from your past and you just replay them over and over and over in your head. Like if I got dementia last next week, I would probably be like, did my real go live? I have to get my real live. Like, you know what I mean? Like it's just, it's almost like not her fault. Like it's just that's the theme that plays over and over in your head.
Starting point is 00:28:25 It's sad. It's so sad. I know. Hollywood like really just. I know. I was watching that. And it's not even Hollywood anymore. I feel like this is.
Starting point is 00:28:35 I hate to say this, and this is like a really morbid prediction, but this is going to happen to social media people too. Like probably on a more profound and widespread scale, because, you know, Hollywood was a very elite community of people who could break in and be successful there. I think that what's happening with social media is the algorithm is giving you this moment of fame, right? And then it will take it away from you.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Like you cannot control your relevance. your relevance is drastically and largely controlled by an algorithm that very few people can understand. Like it changed too. And it changes. It changes every year. And so the people who are able to do this long term are the ones who can pivot with the algorithm and know what it's wants. But, you know, I think that a lot of the TikTok stars in particular, like what happened to all the TikTok stars that we remember during COVID? The people who blew up for a second, you know, what was the kid's name with the white bands?
Starting point is 00:29:31 Like Daniel with the white white vans or something like where are those kids, right? And so if you experience this dopamine rush of fame for a second, but it's built off of something that's fleeting and not like a true community or a true brand or a true mission that stands for something, it's like it's going to be so hard for these people who have experienced it to retreat back to normalcy. Yeah. And so it's like that's where I think substance abuse comes in because you can just never recreate the dopamine, I think, that you.
Starting point is 00:30:01 get from being a famous musician on stage. Yeah. You know, having virality where everyone knows your name, having people come up to you. And if you hold that and let it sink into your soul and don't acknowledge that like, hey, it's kind of fake. It's important and you should be kind and like, you know, purposeful with what you're doing. If you can't see it the right way, it will destroy you. I know it's morbid, but I feel like the Wendy Williams is almost like a precursory or what's it
Starting point is 00:30:30 cautionary tale, you know, for social media stars to really understand that it's not about you. Fame is kind of fake. It's the whole thing is just like surrounding yourself with those right people too. Yeah. And I think that like the celebrities, you know, this has talked about a lot, but the celebrities who have been long term successful are the ones that have gotten out of L.A. Like Matthew McConaughey living in Austin, he's like, you go to L.A. to visit and do meetings and then you live somewhere else, right? I do have to say, I feel like the mommy bloggers on Instagram, like at least the ones that I roll with, have I done this very well.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Yeah. I feel like they are the ones, like, and maybe it's because of our age and like you have kids and you're kind of forced into this like stage of maturity faster than maybe like a 18 year old popping off on TikTok. But I feel like every mom blogger that I know that are extremely successful, that are way more successful than these kids that have like, tens of millions of views on TikTok. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:34 Have done a really good job of like staying true to like who they are, having normal people around them, moving to like normal suburbs in Texas or wherever and not like trying to chase fame, taking their whole family to L.A. and moving to Hollywood. You know what else you've been watching a ton of? Well, it was fine. Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:51 I've watched every episode twice. I know. I'm not on the train, but I know you are. It, it offends me. It offends me that you don't watch it. This is the best season ever, and I have really big news for the de-impliance community. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. Just own it.
Starting point is 00:32:10 We might. We might have two of the biggest stars from Love is Blind here. Jess? On our podcast. I don't want to say, because I don't want to be illusory. It's in the show notes. Don't worry. I'll break it, guys.
Starting point is 00:32:21 But right now. Who is it? Who is it? Jess and Brittany. Jess and Brittany. But they have to reach out to Netflix. Netflix has to approve it. So what's cool is Netflix is going to be vetting us.
Starting point is 00:32:32 That's cool. Netflix is going to be watching or listening to our episode. So this season has just been insane. Do you know what I heard the other day that Jess and Jimmy were photographed leaving or at the same? They were leaving the city. They were at the airport together. Okay. Like rubbing shoulders.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Listen, I'm not invested in this show, but I am so invested in Jimmy, this guy. What was the other girl he chose? Chelsea. Chelsea. Jimmy's decision to choose Chelsea, I. What are your thoughts on Chelsea and Jimmy from what you've seen? What do you think about Chelsea? So Jimmy was faced with a dilemma, right?
Starting point is 00:33:09 So this is all I remember from the show. And I hope, like I'm not a shallow guy. I'm just hoping this is like, like this is what I heard. Is that Chelsea told Jimmy that she, her friends told her that she looked like Megan Fox. Okay, I see it. I see it in her eyes and her face. I see it in the face. I see it in the face.
Starting point is 00:33:28 I think that that probably sent him down a path of like, oh my gosh. Like this is the hottest girl ever. Right. Yeah. And so, and I get it. Because you don't say that you look like Megan Fox. Like unless like you were hot, like smoking hot. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Like the bod, the everything. And Jimmy, from what I've heard, is doing the best job of any love is blind contestant of proving to America that he's a good guy. Yes. But listen. you cannot tell me that as a man that did not factor into his decision to choose Chelsea. He says it. He says she lied to me.
Starting point is 00:34:06 She said that she looked like Megan Fox. I also think that Chelsea is beautiful. And I actually am like a huge, I like hot take like I love Chelsea. Okay. They're both beautiful. Let's go ahead and say that. But I'm blind right now. Love is blind.
Starting point is 00:34:19 I'm blind. If I'm blind and you're sitting here and telling me. I'm like, yeah, people say I look like. My eyes are close. She's blonde. She's got like, you know, she's married to Ryan Reynolds. Blake lively. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:32 Okay, who is this girl I want her? You know, like other girl has a kid. This girl's Megan Fox. Like, I'm in. Like, that is the decision tree of me. And I think that what I was most fascinated to see is Jimmy's reaction when he saw Jess. Yes. Because she's.
Starting point is 00:34:49 And that's the episode. That's why I stayed up late watching that. But Jess, I have to say, handled herself amazingly. Yeah. mad respect. Like she is such a girl's girl. She is like, was not all over him. She's like friends with Chelsea.
Starting point is 00:35:05 I love how she carried herself. And that girl is going to be dating A-less celebrities, athletes for it. Because not only is she gorgeous, beautiful, but she like has integrity. She's a good person. Yeah. So I would ask your opinion on this. So like, let's say you're Jess for a second. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Okay. You then see Jimmy. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So we're all not shep. shallow here. Love is blind. We love hearts. We're not shallow. But like, just facts. I thought Jimmy looked really good at the reunion. I don't like he had his hat on. He was wearing
Starting point is 00:35:38 this tight white shirt. Like when Jess saw Jimmy, I was like, oh, I bet Jess is attracted to Jimmy right now. Okay. And also like, you know, in a fish. In a fishbowl for months. And so it's kind of like, did you ever go to summer camp? And then like at the end of summer camp, you're like, that girl's so hot. But it's like, no, you just haven't seen any other girls. I know. It's so facts. It's like, oh my gosh, she's like, she loves Jesus. She's the mom. She's the, she's the most beautiful girl that you can ever see. And mom is like, oh, yeah, she's like pretty. I'm like, what are you talking about? And then you get back to college and you're like, oh. There's so many. Yeah. So you have to understand that side of it too. There's all this pressure. The, the camera crew is constantly talking to her about Jimmy. So like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:36:23 like I think that Jess was definitely attracted to Jimmy. I don't think that a word of worked out if they ended up together. I don't think that she would have ended up staying with him. I think he would have been like fawning over her. But the one thing, actually you say what you're going to say. I'm going to say this is my prediction. Jimmy chooses Chelsea. I feel like he's trying to weasel his way out of his relationship with Chelsea in the most like, I'm a nice guy. You're like he's gaslighting her. He's like he wants out. He wants to be with Jess, but he wants America to believe that he's the good guy. Yeah. He's saying all the right things, but he does not actually like her. And the one thing I want to defend Chelsea on, okay, because everybody, like that I've
Starting point is 00:36:59 been seeing on TikTok, everybody's like, she's so needy, she's so insecure. When a man treats you that way, it's going to drive you to be insane. Yeah. Like he was going out every single night with his guy friends, with his girlfriends, hanging out with girlfriends that he had hooked up in the past with and being like, Chelsea, like, how are you not confident enough to let me hang out with my girlfriends and let me hang out with my guy friends? Because, like, that would drive me to a point of insanity too. Now, she was emotional. Don't get me wrong. She is an emotional person. But like, I don't feel like we really saw all of Jimmy. I think Jimmy was acting like a frat daddy going out every single night, not prioritizing Chelsea and like leaving her at home to just think and be like,
Starting point is 00:37:40 and go crazy. Jimmy's going to go, this is my prediction. He's going to get out of that relationship to go after Jess. Jess is going to be like, ah, you had your shot. I'm moving on. Jess is going to meet like A list actors, celebrities, Leo, and she's gone and he's going to be like, I made a mistake. No, Jess came out on top in this season. Yeah. Jess is the true winner. I don't understand.
Starting point is 00:38:04 Like, I mean, Jess seems great. She seems like normal, like kind of right. Yeah, great mom. Like, just, there was no way she came into the show not coming on top. Jimmy was so scared of children. Like, he was so terrified of being a stepfather. Like, you know who he need to get. Get Jimmy on the show. I have to talk to Jimmy. We should. That's what we really need to hear from. Get Jimmy. I have so many questions for him. Jimmy was just not ready. He's not matured. We need to. We do. We do. Did you hear about Trevor too? No. I really only know the judge. So I don't know if this is like totally factual or not. But like this girl came out and said that Trevor had been dating her the entire time that he was on the show. They're like these texts, these screenshots of his text messages with her.
Starting point is 00:38:49 like came to the surface, but I also am like those could be manufactured. But the one thing I will say about Trevor is, um, why has he not defended himself? Because Jeremy had some allegations like against him too that he was engaged while he like applied and went on the show. And he came out and defended himself like literally on his Instagram. I follow all these people now. And he was like and he was setting all the facts straight. He was engaged, but it was like two weeks before, not like during.
Starting point is 00:39:16 Oh yeah. Way less worse. Way less worse. So, yeah, I think that the thing, I think this is what we'll wrap on before we get Jimmy on the show is, what's interesting about reality TV is that the participants, like reality TV used to be such trash because the, the participants going on, like had no idea how the producers were going to be conniving and manipulative and all this. I feel like all these reality TV shows are getting better because all of these participants are like PR trained. Like they're like, oh, they know going.
Starting point is 00:39:48 in what is going to happen. So all their own, like, mini publicists, which makes when the show is over, like the dichotomy between what they put out publicly about themselves versus, like, what happens privately is so interesting. Can I just ask one more about one more couple? Clay and AD. Do you know anything about them?
Starting point is 00:40:05 No. Okay, I want to make a prediction before the last episode comes out. And I hate to say it because I love, I actually love AD. And I love Clay too. I just don't think Clay is in love with her. I don't know. I could be wrong, but I feel like like AD is going to say yes and Clay is going to say no. A lot of people felt a certain way about AD because she is very sexual.
Starting point is 00:40:33 She talks with her like sweet little voice. Like she's very confident in her body. The first time that they meet, like that's the first thing that she's talking about. That didn't really bother me. I like the fact that she's like, look what you got. Like look at my, she has a great body. let's be real. She's got a great booty. A girl would pay big bucks for that booty. Um, so I kind of like that she was like, like, this is your prize. Because hey, they're engaged.
Starting point is 00:40:58 They're going to get married. Like, might as well like like what you like what you see. Um, but I just don't know if plays like into it. I'm not getting that vibe. So as much as I want them to work out, my prediction is that he's going to say no. Do you think you could actually like fall in love with someone before seeing them? Like you personally? So are you saying is love blind? Is love blind? I feel like I could. I couldn't.
Starting point is 00:41:27 I'm just going to say it. And it's not that I'm shallow. It's like I couldn't do it. I just don't think I could ever get past it. Like I would just need to have all the facts first. I am like so attracted to you like truthfully. Like I don't think about any other man. Thank God.
Starting point is 00:41:50 You know. But I will say like when we first started dating like I don't remember like being obsessed with your looks. Yeah, I don't blame you for that. But like I remember being like I'm so obsessed with him. But like I just maybe that's a girl thing like we can get past it. Not that like I thought you were cute. I thought you were so handsome and everything. But like I remember like even when I ever went on dates with other guys like I was always like okay.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Like that's like one thing. That's like layer one. But like what I really care about is layer two, three, four or five. Yeah. And so like I feel like for sure like I could, if I was on that show like I could do it. Okay. You're challenging me a little bit because here's what I will say is that I feel like my,
Starting point is 00:42:33 my love and adoration for you has grown over multiple years. And I think that the percentage that has to do with your physical appearance is, is very minimal. Like I think that like, man, maybe love is blind. I just, maybe it is. I mean,
Starting point is 00:42:55 these pastors always are like, don't matter. You know, she loves Jesus, go marry him. And I'm always like, that sounds crazy. Like,
Starting point is 00:43:01 you should definitely like, but I also feel like we got really lucky because like we both have improved in our appearances. When typically it's like you get married and decline. Yeah. But like, you and I both were not great. I know.
Starting point is 00:43:14 That's what's hard about it too. It's like, I mean, we both like really started out at the bottom and now we're here. Yeah. So it's like, How much further down could we have gone? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:22 We'll put a picture here of when we first started dating. So I feel like you and I are just kind of like the lucky ones. Yeah. I also think that the show is skewed. The main reason I think the show is skewed is I think that it's very similar to Christians at summer camp. Christian counselors at summer camp. No, Christians at summer camp in general. Jordan was a Christian counselor.
Starting point is 00:43:45 When you are put into a fish bowl and you have all of the, these opinions surrounding your relationship. But isn't that life? Like we're always put in a fishbowl. No. College, sororities, class,
Starting point is 00:43:58 high school. Like, how do you meet people? In college, like, no one cares. They're like, oh,
Starting point is 00:44:02 you're dating that person, cool. Like, it's summer camp. That's so not what I experienced. Really? Like, if you dated a GDI,
Starting point is 00:44:09 that's what they call. You were a GDI. And my friends were like, wait, what? Like, he's not in, like,
Starting point is 00:44:16 an organization. Okay, that's fair. But I was like, no, he's cool, he's cool. And they're like, he's a GDI.
Starting point is 00:44:21 And I'm like, yeah. But I will say I was in a sorority and like I yearned to get out of that bubble. I did not hate it. That's a strong word because I love my girlfriends from it. But like I did not want to be a part of that. Yeah. I think that I just think that like being being in the presence of social media like fame and all that, it just skews the data so much on what are these people actually falling in love or are they falling in love with the idea of
Starting point is 00:44:49 their relationship and what the public thinks of their relationship. That was a little over my head, but we'll leave it at that. Innovation around women's health, particularly birth control, has been seriously lacking, but natural cycles is on it. For the past 10 years, natural cycles has been setting the precedent for non-invasive and non-hormonal
Starting point is 00:46:15 birth control without sacrificing effectiveness. natural cycles was developed by scientists and is supported by clinical evidence. Based on hormone-driven changes in body temperature, the algorithm lets you know whether you're fertile or not fertile each day. Birth control is a big decision for any woman and it's important to get all the information. I know I can't take hormonal birth control because it really messed with me, which is why I was so happy to find natural cycles years ago. You can use natural cycles to help prevent or plan pregnancy.
Starting point is 00:46:41 While Jordan and I are currently using it to prevent pregnancy, we've been talking a little bit more about when and if, we'd like to try for baby number three now that Stratton is almost two years old. Starting point is 00:48:43 So I saw this trend on TikTok. And basically you are going to share. our love story and tell the story of our first kiss. Okay. Everything that comes out of TikTok, I feel like is a prank somehow. No, it's not a prank. Is this a gotcha? No.
Starting point is 00:48:56 Okay. So you just want me to tell the story of how. It's just like they like, on TikTok, they like to see how the guys tell the story. Okay. And then like the girl can, yeah. Okay. So our first kiss happened, fact check meet, in the hallway of Sky House in Austin. Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:13 Boom, right? Uh-huh. Okay. Um, I remember we had. gone on a date to, you're wearing a pink dress. I remember that. You're wearing a pink dress.
Starting point is 00:49:27 We had little hazel with us. We were throwing the ball with her in the hallway. We came up the elevator. No one's there. And we kissed for the first time and make out for the first time in the Sky House hallway. Okay. Is the purpose of the game that I remembered? I didn't remember the dress you were wearing.
Starting point is 00:49:49 Did I win? I did. See, this is why I hate this bull crap on TikTok because I don't know what the gotcha is here. What is it? Wait, tell a little bit more, though. Like, what was our, tell us? Tell about the song that you wrote me. Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:14 I wrote you a song. It was by my one. man band called A.B. Mix tapes. Okay. And we are sitting in my Sky House apartment, right? What is this face? What is happening? I hate these TikTok games.
Starting point is 00:50:35 What is happening? Okay, keep going. Sorry. I can't keep going because I don't know what's happening. It's funny. And so we had that, that. Okay, I'm done. I'm done.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Why don't just you explain our? first kiss. Well, did you explain the song I wrote you? Okay. What's the game? Will you tell me what the game is?
Starting point is 00:51:19 You're supposed to let your let your husband tell your love story and I have to make weird smiles at you. Was I making weird piece? Yeah, I mean, I felt like I was doing something wrong. I was like... I'm like sitting here like...
Starting point is 00:51:40 Oh my gosh. This is going to push people that like actually watch this on videos. It took you so long to notice. Yeah, because I was like, I was like, well, am I saying the facts wrong? Was my face not weird though? It was like kind of weird. Sort of weird, I guess.
Starting point is 00:51:58 Oh my God, I'm literally sitting here like, okay. Oh, I'm dead. All right, let's play another little game. That was, that was a fun one. Now it's my turn. I honestly didn't even hear anything you said. I wasn't even listening what you were saying.
Starting point is 00:52:14 But it was a pink dress. It was, babe, I literally blinked out like the last five minutes. I don't know what he said because I was. I'm so nervous about smiling. Okay, let's play another little game on TikTok. This one's my turn. I'm going to read six celebrity names, and you have to rank them in order of who you would like to spend the day with
Starting point is 00:52:33 from one to six without knowing who is going to be read next. At the end, we're going to see how close you got to the way that you really order them. Okay. So I'm going to grab a pen. Okay. And I'm going to read these names. Okay. And you're going to rank them.
Starting point is 00:52:48 Of who you would want to spend the day with? No, you would want to spend the day with. Oh, okay. Okay. You're going to rank them in number of one to six. And is who I really want to spend the day with, and six is the last. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:02 So, number one would be Carrie Underwood. You know. The show goes on. I've heard she's nice. Would I want to spend the day with her, though? She seems so normal. Probably five. Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:20 Olivia Rodwigo Wadwigo Olivia Wadwigo She's so young Yeah You know that I feel like that would be weird Like what am I going to do with you
Starting point is 00:53:33 Go get Duncan Donas Ice coffee That's what all the young kids do So I'd have to say Probably six Wow Okay Noah Cahan
Starting point is 00:53:45 You better say six Well you already said so Um, he seemed kind of sad. He seems sad. Yeah, I would say three. Yes. I really don't want to spend the day with really anyone, to be honest. Kim Kardashian.
Starting point is 00:54:00 Oh, number one for sure. I want to spend the day with her thousand percent. Yeah, I want to know exactly how she runs her day. I want to know what her team looks like. I want to know how much she's working. I want to know how she moms in the middle of all. Yes, Kim Kardashian. Definitely number one.
Starting point is 00:54:16 Kim could be over Taylor for me. Okay, that's actually next. Taylor, yeah, number two. Taylor to number two. Wow, that is big. Yeah, because like Taylor, it's like... It's so unrelatable. Taylor's like, yeah, like, like,
Starting point is 00:54:28 like, cool, but like, what am I going to take away from that? And honestly, like, the mystery is inspiring to me. So I don't really care to know, but Kim, I would like to know. Okay. Wendy Williams. You only have four left.
Starting point is 00:54:40 Oh, that would be seven for me. But that's okay. Okay. So you have Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, then Noah Cahan, Wendy Williams at four, Carrie Underwood at five and Olivia Rodriguez. And I'll just say like Wendy Williams, I'm talking about even like before all of her issues that she's had.
Starting point is 00:54:59 Like she's always been a very blunt New York personality that really scares me. Like I, people like that would probably make me cry. Like when people are really upfront blunt with me and like too honest, it hurts my feelings. Yeah. What would you have switched in the list? So Wendy would have gone to six. Yeah. Olivia Rodriguez.
Starting point is 00:55:19 So it would have been Kim, Taylor, Olivia, Noah, Carrie, and Wendy Williams. That was close. That was pretty spot on. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to list out six celebrities or six people. I'm pretty picky about my friends. So this is going to be a hard game for me. Okay. So, and you're going to rank one to six.
Starting point is 00:55:42 One is who you want to spend the day with the most least or six is who you would like to spend the day with the least. Are we talking the whole day? Because that's a lot. Yeah, whole day, whole day. Like, you're there, like, you're like 7 a.m. until they go to bed. Whole day.
Starting point is 00:55:55 Okay, ready? I wouldn't want to do that with you. Number one, Jeff Bezos. Just to leave room for whoever else could come, I'd say two. Would you want to be with Jeff Bezos? Yeah, he's a very smart guy. Yeah. I really resect.
Starting point is 00:56:10 He is one of the best business leaders of our time. Why? Because his philosophy on workplace culture, on business, on leadership, he created this thing called single-threaded leadership. Okay. Which basically means that every leader or manager needs to have one KPI that they're responsible for. So they can't fall behind and say, oh, well, that wasn't my job. It's like, well, your one job was building this program or this platform.
Starting point is 00:56:36 And I've really taken that and tried to implement it. Oh, I love that. That's interesting. Okay. Number two, Joe Biden. Six. Okay. Why?
Starting point is 00:56:50 He's a president. You don't want to be with the presidency? what they do every day or what they don't do every day. I'm not, I don't think anyone is super convinced he's like there. Also, like, he's like a grandpa. Like, what are we going to talk about? Yeah, but like I would, no, regardless of who the president is, I would like to see what a day in their life is like.
Starting point is 00:57:11 You know what I mean? Like, you wake up in the White House? No, I think he, I think he takes a lot of naps. Like, I really do. And that's not a political, political statement. I really think. I would do. How old is he?
Starting point is 00:57:25 80. Yeah, I would too. No, I'm not knocking him. It's not like he's like running the free world. Okay. Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:57:34 Who made this game? This is a trap. Did Matt Howard make this game? Because let me tell you, Matt and Abby wrote in their script to us. They were like, no political questions. And then he grilled me about politics.
Starting point is 00:57:52 I'd probably say, Okay, ask someone who's taken a lot of heat on the internet. You? No, you. Oh, what? What do you mean? No, just like in general. Like, I mean, like, I don't take that much heat.
Starting point is 00:58:06 Well, we've been through seasons of heat, right? Yeah, but everyone has, but okay, go on. No, I'm not person. Yeah, I agree. I am fascinated by his ability to take so much heat by the free press, by the public, by social media, and still wake up in the market. morning and be a functioning human being. I would want to spend a day with him to meet him and his team around him because I would
Starting point is 00:58:34 just be fascinated what their crisis management looks like and they're just approached to just simply like communicating with the public. I'd say three. Okay. I think it's, yeah, it's interesting. Okay. Elon Musk. Four. Why?
Starting point is 00:59:02 I think he's funny. I don't think that we would align morally on a lot of life things, like values. He apparently has a bunch of kids and is not close to a lot of them. Yeah. I think he talks about his son a lot. So I think he is a decent dad, but he's so busy and like running so much that I think it would probably be boring to emulate his life. And he even says that. He's like most people like would not want my life. Okay. Justin Bieber.
Starting point is 00:59:34 Five. Did you see that? Five. I think that Justin and I would have really great spiritual conversations. I think so too. I'm surprised that you put in my number five because. Oh, I ran out of room. I'm like tracking my numbers.
Starting point is 00:59:51 You have one. You have number one left. So just, you know. I know. Justin Bieber, I feel like is actively trying to fight the good fight. And I think it's really hard for him because of his environment and because of his past. And so I feel like that would be really interesting to be around him.
Starting point is 01:00:08 Did you see that Stephen Baldwin like publicly, I think a couple of days ago, asked, like went on his Instagram and asked everyone to pray for like them and their marriage. Wow. I love that. Yeah. But also it's like you're kind of bringing light to like the fact that maybe they're struggling. Like people were like, wait, why? Why are we praying for them?
Starting point is 01:00:26 Like, because Justin and Haley haven't said anything public about, well, I mean, they've talked about how at the beginning of their marriage was tough because of Justin and where he was at mentally. And like, they both had some physical, you know, issues. But, yeah, there must be something going on for Stephen to get on his Instagram and say that. I'd be pissed at my dad, though. Yeah, I don't know about that, but I know that Stephen Baldwin, you remember that site called I am second.com?
Starting point is 01:00:55 Yeah. So I Am Second. What happened to that? No, it's still going. I Amsecond.com is a really cool site that everyone should go check out. And it's like a lot of celebrities, famous musicians who basically share their testimony of like how they came to know Jesus. But they do it in a really like high quality, high caliber way.
Starting point is 01:01:12 Stephen Baldwin has one. And his story was like really cool, you know, just like being an actor and raised in Hollywood and all that kind of stuff. Funny story about Justin Bieber. And I still think I would rank him probably not five, but pretty. low. Did you know that when you buy a Ferrari, you cannot paint it a different color.
Starting point is 01:01:34 It has to be a Ferrari red. No, I did not know that. You cannot paint a Ferrari. It has to come in the color that you bought it. And so they are so particular about this that they actually have a program where you can report finding Ferraris and you're rewarded.
Starting point is 01:01:51 Like you as a citizen could report a painted Ferrari, send the license plate in and get paid, you know, money to report it. Justin Bieber painted a Ferrari pink and left it outside of a hotel. And so he is banned from buying Ferraris. Really? Does he still get to keep the pink one? I don't know. But what I do know is I say that story because I think that his struggles and like what
Starting point is 01:02:19 is like hard for him personally is that he was raised with so much. like of a dopamine rush being like a kid star and raised with now so much money that he doesn't have to work anymore that I think his inner battle is just so like him like I think he knows Jesus he knows that Jesus loves him I think he knows grace but now he's got to like really strip himself of the world like do you remember when a couple years ago um he was seen working like as a bus boy at a restaurant that was fake but yes I do remember that dang that was fake yeah that was a jesson beaver look alike oh I thought I thought that was super cool.
Starting point is 01:02:56 Yeah. Man, that's a bummer. Yeah. But yeah. Cool. I'd still rank them. Last person, Brandon Fugel. It has to be your number one.
Starting point is 01:03:04 It has to be your number one. I don't know if you, so let's redo it. Okay. Who would be your number one? Jeff Bezos. Okay. Jeff Bezos and Brandon Fugel, both billionaires, one significantly more of a billionaire. Both own large plots of land.
Starting point is 01:03:22 And have insane bunkers. Brandon Fugel owns Skinwalker Ranch where there's some weird alien slash demonic activity happening. I have chosen not to go there. We have been invited. Even if he's invited me, I chose not to go there because I'm not going to play with spiritual warfare. But I would go to Jeff Bezos Ranch in West Texas because I want to see this giant $200 million clock he's building. Okay. Who would be number three, four, five, six?
Starting point is 01:03:50 Justin Bieber number three. Okay. Elon Musk number four. Who do I have left? Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Sorry, I would switch Elon Musk and Donald Trump and then I'd put Joe Biden less. Okay.
Starting point is 01:04:04 Perfect. Love it. Moving on to our favorite segment, things that make you go, hmm. So we were talking about Justin Bieber, childhood fame. So this has been crazy.
Starting point is 01:04:18 Have you seen the videos of Amanda Binds on TikTok lately? This one I actually have seen. I have not studied it or deep dived, but I have seen that she looks very different. I in such an Amanda Bind's stand. I mean, not now, but like I was so obsessed with her growing up. In fact, a lot of my friends always said that I reminded them of her. Like back, you know, the all, or whatever if she was on.
Starting point is 01:04:41 She's the man. Amanda Bind's show. All that, all that. She's just so funny. Like, she's the man still. Like, I sometimes do wonder if I watch that movie now if it would like hit like it did back then. You watched it like two years ago and you still thought it was dying laughing.
Starting point is 01:04:56 But I had to say I also had Stella. And like you do you like relate to this? I feel like when you have kids all of a sudden, like some of these movies that really annoy you start to be funny again because you're like trying to find wholesome videos to watch around your kids. So now it's like, well, I'd rather watch this than like bluey. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 01:05:14 Yeah. So I feel like that's part of it. But anyway. So Dan Schneider is the producer of all of those shows. So A One I One. All that, all the Nickelodeon shows. I read a lot about him in Jeanette McCurdy's book, her memoir. Oh, that's the same producer?
Starting point is 01:05:32 Yes. Wow. So in her memoir, I remember, and I believe Josh Peck writes about him too, because he produced, he created all that. Okay, so it's one old Nickelodeon producer that kind of like multiple people have talked about. Yes, he produced like some really successful shows. They called him, or Jeanette called him in this show, The Creator. and he was apparently like very creepy he's he kind of forced ariana grande to she had her own show like
Starting point is 01:06:01 filmed some pretty uh questionable questionable videos content of like it's just really inappropriate um jeanette says that like he would force her to do like kiss scenes over and over and be like move your head this way like he would buy his talent alcohol like make them drink underage was just very like inappropriate on set. Did she in her book or Josh Peck ever refer to it as like grooming? Yes. Not grooming, not that term, but like that he was very inappropriate. And like so in 2018 finally Nickelodeon said like goodbye.
Starting point is 01:06:41 But a lot of, I mean, you know like a lot of childhood stars like struggle in their later years. Style above like especially like a lot of the Nickelodeon Disney characters. So this Dan Schneider guy is the same producer that worked with Amanda Bines. Yes. So he did shows like Jake and Josh, Kenan and Kel, the Amanda show, Zoe 101, and most notably I Carly. So all of those were on Nickelodeon. So he finally was released for misconduct towards Nickelodeon employees in 2018, which he denied. And then recently, Amanda Bynes has been posting on TikTok and it's crazy to see what she looks like today, like a completely different human, which has got. people asking a lot of questions. Twitter has been recently resurfacing disturbing videos of Amanda Bynes and her former producer, Dan Schneider, from when Amanda was a childhood, was on childhood TV sets.
Starting point is 01:07:32 One video shows Dan filming a young Binds insisting she demonstrates how to use the super spitball 5,000, basically a device making Amanda look like she was doing something inappropriate. Another shows a scene from the Amanda Bynes show where Schneider wrote himself into a segment where Bynes would be in a hot tub with different famous guests, including himself. So I think conversation, Twitter conversation basically is like, Amanda Binds is definitely in a different state than she was at all that or, you know, she's the man. Like she looks very different. You know, she's not into acting anymore, which if you want to resign from acting, that's like one thing. But she's over the years, I feel like we've heard about Amanda Binds like kind of being unwell, right?
Starting point is 01:08:14 She has admitted to like substance abuse problems. She's like always says that she did things because she was really high. Um, it says, Bynes has been out of legal trouble as well as struggling with bipolar disorder and manic depressive disorder. Bines has opened up about her struggles with substance abuse in previous interviews saying it started on the set of hairspray where she found out people were taking Adderall to get skinny, which was a very like that. That was something that Jeanette McCurdy also struggled with, um, like eating disorders, bulimia from Adderall. Um, I can't remember she took Adderall, but it was like everyone was just like this was like the 90s. Like this was like when the skinny models came out. Everybody like you had to be skinny like the Paris Hilton's like, you know.
Starting point is 01:08:56 And like now it's more like embrace your body. Embrace your curves like Kim Kardashian. But like back then it was all about being skinny. Have you watched any of like Amanda Bind's like recent social media posts or anything? Yes. I did see her recent post on TikTok. And yeah, like it's a lot of people in the comments like genuinely don't think it's her. It looks like a completely different person.
Starting point is 01:09:18 I definitely think it's her. it definitely is her but um yeah i i think that this is what happens when you start taking drugs or using substances at such a young age like it truly like fries your brain like it's it can cause so many mental and physical ailments and issues for your future and it's like in those years like you are developing as a human like your brain is still developing and like when it's hindered and stopped by like substances like how are you supposed to grow into a mature adult like you just can't and so it's it's the really it's the culture on a lot of these uh for these childhood stars like that's just the culture that they're around every single day yeah and especially when you have like a tan schneider like in there
Starting point is 01:09:59 um kind of condoning this behavior or like buying alcohol for for young kids like it's it'll mess you up i feel like so catching myself up to speed on amanda binds does she seem like i know that she looks different does she seem happier in her content or does she seem kind of off um Um, it's hard to say. I would say she looks pretty off in my opinion. Um, uh, yeah, it seems like she's posting the videos and then deleting them. So it's like all the videos I've seen are from other people like, you know, so, and I feel like you only do that if you're like not proud of the content you put out, you know.
Starting point is 01:10:35 She definitely was under like a conservative ship conservatorship with her parents. So like her parents basically like it's kind of what Britney Spears was under. Was she? Yeah, she was from like, um, that makes sense. I was, I was reading this. I think it was like 20. 12 maybe to 2022 like don't quote me on that so like you know clearly like even her parents and you know I don't know how concerned the courts you know believe that she was like unwell for a time it's just
Starting point is 01:11:01 crazy to see like her starting out or a kid starting out so successful right having their whole future ahead and then you know dropping off but like I wish that there was some like statistical study on like the how many like child stars actually who has like what childhood star has come out unscathed. That's what I'm saying is like I can't think of any. Ryan Gosling wasn't he on Mickey Mouse Club? Yeah you're right you found one. Well that's what I'm saying is like Justin Timber Lake too but like that's why I would love for like they weren't like childhood stars like Ryan Gosling was on the Mickey Mouse Club but like was he being like He was kind of B team. Yeah like no same with I mean Justin Timber Lake was in NSYNC but he is having some issues now
Starting point is 01:11:43 but like those were two examples but I think too like it affects. It affects. like females differently. Yeah. I mean, I would imagine it does. Like, I think that two studies would be interesting. One is like overall childhood stars,
Starting point is 01:11:57 how many come out like without any type of issues. Hillary Duff, just a lot of one. Yeah, Hillary Duff is like done really well. Yeah. And then I would love to know male versus female, like how it affects like each gender differently.
Starting point is 01:12:10 Yeah. What would you think if Stella wanted to get into acting? And she got picked up by Disney. I think I'd say no. I think that like, you know, our kids on social media, I think that right now it's something that is not harmful. I don't see any, like, effects. There's certain times where I feel like Stella doesn't want, like, a picture taken,
Starting point is 01:12:37 but I don't think we press it, right? Yeah, no. And it's, like, kind of like part of the joke at this point. But, like, okay, just to like, when I was younger, my mom would make me take pictures all the time. Yeah, no. And I'd be like, mom. Stop.
Starting point is 01:12:49 Yeah, no, that's like normal. I think that you and I are pretty aligned on like watching it as four, five, six, seven approach, you know, because I think that those are some of the developmental years. I will say I'm like pretty deathly terrified, not of our kids being on social media, but our kids having social media too early. Yeah. I think that, you know, a lot of the schools that we've toured, it's funny, like this would never have happened when we were growing up.
Starting point is 01:13:16 They almost have like social media policies. Like we strongly encourage, you know, parents not to let their kids on social media. Like we have a no cell phone policy. And it's a large choice in us choosing a school is like almost like what their cell phone policy is. Because if you give, if the policy is that a eight year olds can have a cell phone that all eight year olds are going to want it. That you think like an institution has that big of an influence on your child. Like a school? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:40 Oh my gosh. I think it's everything. See, like I don't. Wait, how? Because like, I mean, yes, I think it has an. influence, but I think it's more about like the kids that she's around. And like a lot of these kids are, that's what I mean, but a lot of these culture of the school. But how can you predict like the type of people that she's going to be around? Like, do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:14:02 Especially at a school. And in fact, I think sometimes what's even scary about some of the private schools is like that's where the kids pick up issues like substance abuse because it's so it's everywhere. They're getting it from their parents and they're getting it from. And they have more resources. They have more resources. That's what I saw in like the, a lot of the Greek life at you. was like a lot of the kids that had these drugs were like the wealthy kids. Yeah. I think that your school has a lot of influence on you. Like that's like saying like if I would have grown up in.
Starting point is 01:14:31 But like I grew up all my friends like growing up like not all of them. But when I especially in middle school like they all smoked weed. Like I never smoked weed. But it's like because I feel like yes it was I was around that environment. But like I feel like what my parents taught me and what my family taught me trumped that. Yeah, I agree. I mean, I think that you can mitigate some risks depending on what you expose your kids to. You know, it's like saying, that's like, okay, so then let me take the same argument. If you put Stella in Disney, right, and all the kids are using Adderall, for example, like, don't you feel like you're increasing the risk of your daughter falling into Adderall? Like, you can't just say, oh, well, we're good parents, so therefore the environment we put her in, like she should know better. It's like you, when you are moldable and you're facing peer pressure, you are a product of the people around you, you know? Yeah, I guess it's like the saying,
Starting point is 01:15:23 the business saying like you are as successful as the four friends around you or whatever. It's like you are a product of your environment. Yeah, I get that. We can control, you know, the environment of both do we put our kids on social media and how is that affecting them and watching that super, super closely. Because it opens up like so much more opportunity for unwanted feedback, people like knowing about her life, judging her.
Starting point is 01:15:49 I don't even think it's like normal for Amanda Bynes or Stella or any kid to know that that many people have an opinion on your life. Like it's so odd and it's overwhelming for like a kid. So here's a question for you, Danny. I think that we can generally speaking, there's no like statistical study on this, but it seems like childhood fame leads to harmful paths or at least increases the probability of harmful paths for kids, right? Right.
Starting point is 01:16:17 should it fall under the same labor laws that like working at McDonald's does? Like you can't work. Yeah. Probably 100%. Yeah. Like kids shouldn't be. Remember like when Facebook, like we could only get a Facebook at a certain age. It should probably be that way with social media, like TikTok and Instagram.
Starting point is 01:16:36 But what I'm saying is like film TV. Oh, film TV. Yeah. Oh gosh. I know. Because think about it. Like if you saw if you saw no representation of any child, Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:48 On television. It's all cartoons. No. It's all AI. It wouldn't be cartoons, but like a This Is Us or even the Wholesome shows wouldn't be allowed to show kids. What if like your child's dream is to be an actor? At what age, though? But like how did they learn the skills and develop the skills for acting if they're not allowed to do it?
Starting point is 01:17:10 It's like it's giving footloose. Footloose. It was illegal to dance. it's illegal to childhood act. I think the difference, here's why this is a funny conversation is like, I don't think you wanted to grow up and be a childhood actor per se,
Starting point is 01:17:28 but like you wanted to be on the morning announcements. Oh, I was like, and so like I feel like in this conversation, you're triggered because you basically think that I am advocating. You're cycling my dreams. Yeah, you think I'm like, politicking a way to put a policy in a place
Starting point is 01:17:41 to ruin your childhood dreams, you know? No, I mean, but yeah, I mean, how could you like make a law like that? Because then it's like, okay, acting or television, but then what about dancing or singing? Yeah. They're all kind of one and the same. So then you just don't allow a child to dream. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:02 Yeah, I get it. Hmm. I think we just like, we like, it's almost funny. Like the visual that everyone should have in the audience right now is like, we just opened up a can of worms and we're kind of like, let's close that one. Not today. We're going to close this. The worms get back in the can.
Starting point is 01:18:20 Anyway, I don't have the energy to fight that fight. So now I want to transition to a new segment. This could be a one and done segment, but it's things that make you go. I love new segments. Good. We'll do a new one every episode. Okay, let's try this one. We want to talk about things that make you go grr.
Starting point is 01:18:37 You do it with me? GER. Okay, so something that has made me go, gur. You know, we've been traveling a lot. Uh-huh. The process of getting on and off a plane. Yeah. Does this make you go gur?
Starting point is 01:18:54 No, it doesn't because you don't have a stress bone in your body. But for someone like me that was basically born as a stress ball with so much tension in my shoulders that I don't know how to relieve it 24-7. We should call your mom one day and ask if she was stressed during your pregnancy. You think that could be it? Yeah. The cortisol just like just like transfer into my body. Yeah. I think she'd be.
Starting point is 01:19:17 probably was. You think so? Yeah. Um, first of all, when people get on a on a plane, they should board back to front. Okay. That's, why are we all just standing around? Like, it's so aggressive. Like it's, I feel like I'm on the hunger games. Like, all of a sudden, like, I'm talking to someone. We're best buddies. But then we're boarding on a plane. I'm like, you're my worst enemy. I'm going to beat you. But is that just me? Actually, this is, um, so take the economics of like first class and like not, wanting to sit towards the back and like price, dynamic pricing out. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:51 That is the most efficient way to board an airplane. Because have you ever like missed your seat? Yes. And then have to go back. You're screwed. Why do they do it that way? I think it's because of the dynamic pricing. Like because the tickets in the back of the plane are cheaper because no one wants to be by
Starting point is 01:20:08 the bathroom. But apparently that's the safest place to sit if there's a plane crash. Well, then they should change the whole narrative. Those should be the most expensive. You rebrand the back of the plane. Oh, the best. the plane. And then we board more efficiently and America runs on efficiency. Wait. We. Should we create an airline? No. I've always thought about this. No. I've always thought about it. It's just such a, oh,
Starting point is 01:20:32 there needs to be a new airline, new means of transportation. Listen to me right now. The effects that flying on airplanes have on our environment make me gag and throw up in my mouth on a daily basis. I will not ever take a capitalistic perspective or position on destroying the environment. So why Taylor gets a ton of hate. Have you seen those memes? It's like Taylor grabbing the remote from her sofa and she like hops on a jet plane to grab the remote. Like that's so funny. Yeah, she's a gas guzzler.
Starting point is 01:21:08 But like the girls, I mean, do you want. But she's saving the economy of every single city that she visits. So it's like, that's what she doesn't, she doesn't get enough credit for. Yeah. Is the pros probably outweigh. the cons. Another thing that just annoys me, makes me go gur, is when you bring a bag, like you, when I'm packing and I have a carry on, I have eliminated so many little luxuries that I want to pack, but I don't bring them because I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm just like I have to fit everything
Starting point is 01:21:35 in a carry on. And then you get up there and then they take your carry on and they check it. It's like the whole time, I could have brought my whole size dry shampoo, but now I have this little tiny one with just a little bit left. And I made, I made the, the sacrifice and now I'm having to get my bag checked. Like I feel like that's just robbery. But they only do that to protect the, what is it the bin? No, it's not the bin space. What happens is- You have to check your bag for weight issues, right? No, no, no. They take your bag if there's enough bin space because it's like a full flight. Got it. But it's like, why did you promise that in the first place? Like, why is there not enough bin space? That might be robbery.
Starting point is 01:22:12 And then you have to wait with everyone that like actually checked their bag. But the whole time, the reason you didn't check a bag is so that you could get in and out. Yeah. It's like you're making sacrifices on the front end, but like you're not being rewarded for them on the back end. Right. You know what? I think we need to get you a meeting with Southwest Airlines because you know what?
Starting point is 01:22:29 I feel like of all of the airlines, that is an airline that is going to listen. Yeah. To the voice of America. Mm-hmm. And I think the voice of America. So should I be CEO of Southwest? Should that be my next dream?
Starting point is 01:22:43 Um, you know, that would mean you're my dad's boss. That's true. That's true. Okay, the last thing I want to say whenever you're getting on and off a plane. And this has happened to me so much lately and I don't know like if parents are not teaching their kids right about this.
Starting point is 01:23:00 Like parents do better. Whenever you are getting off of a plane and someone from the row behind you gets off first like cuts you off when we're all waiting patiently it's like row by row by row. But then someone behind you jets out because they don't have kids or they don't have luggage or something.
Starting point is 01:23:15 something like no that's wrong i feel like you would do that no i've truly never had that happen you've never had that happen no people do that to me all the time it's because i'm a female that's what it is you know what it is it's uh there are just misogynistic undertones running through everyone's desire to cut my sweet petite feminist of a wife off on an airplane if i ever see that happen Jordan will beat you up. I will beat you up not because I'm a violent person, but because I'm defending femininity. And my woman's rights.
Starting point is 01:23:55 Yeah. I'm defending my woman's rights and women's rights across America. So our 99% female listeners better know that I am an ally and an advocate on your behalf. I just want to say that Jordan at the airport pisses me off. People. Let's do this. Let's do this right now. People cut me off all the time.
Starting point is 01:24:18 Or like, I'm first in line because I have worked hard to get there. And then Jordan be like, oh, go ahead. Go ahead. And he'll let people cut me. And I'm like, babe, I was here first. I'm a big sweet guy. No, because you just don't. He just don't care.
Starting point is 01:24:31 Or like, we'll be like boarding group number three. And like, it's okay. And I'll be like, babe, we're three. Like we can cut to the front. And he'll be like, no, no. And he'll get behind group nine. And I'm like, babe, we paid extra so that we could take advantage of group three so that we get our bags, you know, our carry-on bags put above our seats.
Starting point is 01:24:48 And Jordan's like, oh, it's fine. Hey, let me tell you something. Let me tell you something. I'm like, no. Let me tell you something. What? Sometimes I do it, just a piece. I know you do it.
Starting point is 01:24:58 I know you do it to push my buttons because you want to see how I'm going to react to the situation. And it never goes well for you, does it? I will literally, like, it will be group two and like I'm group two and like Jordan's behind group nine. And I will leave him and go and wait in group two and be like, I'm, going in group too. Like, I'm a winner.
Starting point is 01:25:17 Yeah, yeah. You win every time. And I don't know what the award is, but you get it. And you get it and you, you wave your trophy and you're like, I was first.
Starting point is 01:25:26 I was first. And then, you know, what happens every time is the pilot will then make an announcement on the speaker. And she's like, he's like rewarding Danny Austin
Starting point is 01:25:35 for being first in line on the plane and the whole plane starts applauding and saying, Danny, you know what? You know what? It happens in my mind. I know.
Starting point is 01:25:44 That's what happens in your mind. And so, you know, sometimes I do it to teach you. I do have a question for you, though. That. Am I not like right nine times out of ten though? About what? Like whenever I'm like, oh, we have to be first because then we will miss this or we but like I'm typically right.
Starting point is 01:26:02 I feel like it's more of a self-fulfilling prophecy. If I'm not going to lie. Like I think that like you and your minds, so here's what will happen is that like if we, let's say we board group two. We're top of group two. We miss group one. Danny will hold on to that for the entirety of the day. So here's what will happen is we'll get to dinner, our dinner reservation, and we're
Starting point is 01:26:25 five minutes late. And we miss the kids bedtime by 30 minutes and we'll be putting the kids to sleep. They maybe have a tantrum. And Daniel will be like, we should have been group one. And so is it that you're right or is it that you are looking for? for every reason and rationale to be right. I'm typically right. I, you know, and the hard part about it is like,
Starting point is 01:26:54 the three males listening to this show will be like, brother, I get you, man. I get you, I get you. But like the 99.9% of female listeners will be like, Danny, this is why the female brain and this is why our men need us because you're so right and like you are so heard and so supported, so I don't know.
Starting point is 01:27:18 Yeah, I'll follow your lead. I mean, if you want to be group one, I'll be group one. It's not a big deal. I'll sit down with my little ice water, drink some drinks, watch people miserable getting on the plane, be like, you're so chill, it just annoys me. It really does. GER!
Starting point is 01:27:35 This is a good segment. Let's talk about it again. Let's wrap this episode up. We've been talking, listen, I love to talk, but I am about. My throat is hurting. My throat is hurting. I'm gassed. Like I need,
Starting point is 01:27:46 I need some water. You know, I would just like to leave on a note of, after our segment that goes, Gurr, just commending you on reading your new book, The Reathlet's Elimination of Hurry. And I hope that whatever you're learning in that book
Starting point is 01:28:01 can be applied to your airport culture. What's his name? His name is Mark Comer. Janine just had him on her podcast. Really? Yeah, I don't know if the episode is out yet, but everyone go listen,
Starting point is 01:28:13 whatever it is. She said that he's like so smart, was really interesting, talks exactly like he sounds in the book. Book is amazing, but it will, it'll wreck your life if you're someone like me and that like is always competitive and wants to be first. How is it? How is it? Give us a one key takeaway that you've learned from the book so far. The book, we're going over the Sabbath right now and how the Sabbath was actually gifted to us by God as like a day of rest. And although it's sometimes like a day that people like,
Starting point is 01:28:43 don't look forward to. Like, it should be, like, our favorite day of the week. Yeah. Where we just rest and do things to, like, like, glorify God. But essentially it was, like, more, it's not even, like, about, like, being on your knees and, like, prayer all day long, which, like, you should be. But, like, just taking the day to rest because, like, God wanted that for us. You know what's so crazy about rest and, like, Sabbath or, as you called it growing up,
Starting point is 01:29:05 Shabbat? Yep, spot dinner. You know what's so crazy about that is, um, I always thought that rest was, like, another thing I had to do to like be spiritually well-rounded. Yeah. And what's what changed my perspective about rest and Sabbath the most is that rest was a gift from God almost it's like, hey, you can take this Sabbath and like I've got this. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:31 You know? And it's like the, the blessing of it for me is that I can trust God enough to know that if I don't put in these 12 or 24 extra hours. Yeah. into work that like God is still good and it's still he still got it and so that kind of like really helped me I'm not perfect at Sabbath but the one thing the one thing I learned too and then we'll wrap up is like if you want to Sabbath and Sabbath the right way you kind of have to have to work hard to Sabbath like you have to work hard the other days of the week to create that space for you
Starting point is 01:30:00 so you can't just expect to like take Sunday off and like keep up with your same lifestyle like you have to make some changes in order to get to a point where you truly Sabbath on that day So I don't know, like I've been thinking about the thing is to be honest like in this book Like it's so ironic because every time I'm reading it's like all about being busy and how you shouldn't be busy But I'm always like rush reading it like I'm always like I don't have time for this And so um but like the interesting thing about the book when I'm reading and reflecting I and maybe I'm so sick in my mind that I don't realize how unhealthy I am but like I don't feel like I'm like really rushed or busy on the weekends. I feel like I'm trying to enjoy time with my kids and my friends and my family.
Starting point is 01:30:47 And you know what I mean? I don't feel like I'm caught up in like the work spiral. I am Monday through Friday. Don't get me wrong. I'd agree with that. Okay. Yeah. I actually if Sabbath,
Starting point is 01:30:59 if your intended Sabbath is on the weekends, like I actually think you Sabbath really well. Yeah, I think it typically is. I kind of like want a Sabbath two days a week. Like, is that too much? Go off, Queen. I think that,
Starting point is 01:31:10 I think that that's probably one chapter of the book is Sabbath, right? Yeah, yeah. It's almost like, check, you got that. Whatever the book is saying about Monday through Friday. Yeah, like maybe that's what we watch and just, let's just take it all in, let's see what it says,
Starting point is 01:31:23 and we can talk about it together. It's a great book. We'll link it for you guys so you guys can check it out. But we have some exciting things coming up. We have a new Divi product launch that you guys will be hearing about in the next couple weeks. Wink, wink. We launched our new candle.
Starting point is 01:31:40 We have electric picks coming out. So we've got a lot of fun things going on. Thank you guys for listening. And we'll talk to you later. Bye. Thank you.
