De-Influenced with Dani + Jordan - Have Influencers Gone Too Far?

Episode Date: September 18, 2026

We have A LOT to unpack this week. Dani is officially hooked on Alix Earle’s new reality show — and somehow Jordan is too — which leads us straight into the Braxton Berrios breakup, why Dani thi...nks Alix may have chosen her career over the relationship, and a little piece of information Jordan has apparently been sitting on: Braxton had a ring?! We also get into the Alix Earle vs. Alex Cooper drama and whether Alix Earle was actually taken advantage of by the Unwell Network or simply outgrew the deal she signed. Plus, Dani takes Jordan down the absolutely WILD rabbit hole of former Bachelor Clayton Echard’s paternity scandal and the Love Trapped podcast. Then we get a little deeper: Has our culture made marriage harder by convincing people they need to have their entire lives figured out before finding a spouse? We talk about building a life with someone versus waiting until you’ve built it alone, influencer culture at live events, and whether creators have officially gone too far. It’s pop culture, marriage, internet rabbit holes and plenty of unsolicited opinions. Let’s get into it. Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello and welcome back to your favorite podcast. Deinfluenced. Today, I look horrible. The glasses are a vibe though. Yeah, I have all my glasses for today's podcast just because I am that B. Or as she said last week, I'm back on my bullshit. You know, in the context of she said it, she was feeling like really energetic for like 48 hours. And then she took a nap and she was like, I don't know, babe, I'm back on my bullshit.
Starting point is 00:00:31 I'm back on my bullshit. Because I usually was napping every day. And then I was like convinced that because I started working out, I'm not tired anymore. And it took away all the fatigue in my life. And then like six days in, I was like, dang, I'm tired again. So I took a nap. I go, babe, I'm back on my bullshit. It's horrible.
Starting point is 00:00:53 This is like the roller coaster of just being married to. A female. A female. Just female hormones. Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry if you're seeing my toes right now. I'll cover it with. No, it's okay.
Starting point is 00:01:05 No. Toes out in public are not okay. Unless they're like in a shoe. Yeah. Well presented. But mine are not. Remember when I commented on your feet the other day? I was just looking at them and I was like, these are long feet.
Starting point is 00:01:21 I know. I have really big feet for a girl. And I'm not that. I'm five, six. You know, maybe five, six and a half. I stand up straight, but like I wear in a size nine shoe, which is like what girls that are like six foot wear. No, six girls, no, I would say probably girls that are like five, ten, five, eleven. Yeah, it's really hard for me to do this podcast with you without seeing your eyes.
Starting point is 00:01:40 So either I'm going to, I'm going to put my sunglasses on. Babe, you're okay. You're fine the way that you are. Just keep going. It's just like I can only barely see your eyes. So I don't know how to pick up your nonverbal cues. Good. Let's see how maybe this will be better. All right. So what was I on? Your toes? No.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Your feet. No, babe, we had just moved on to something. Oh, my exhaustion. No, we were beyond that too. Just keep going. What do you want to talk about? You interrupted me and now you know how my brain is. It's like I'll remember in like an hour after we are finished.
Starting point is 00:02:18 I'll be like, oh, I remember where I was going to go with that. Yeah. Yeah, so what's up with you? How's life? You know, life's good. I have to leave tonight. And for some reason, it's really stressing me out. I used to, we used to be gone from each other all the time.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Yeah. And it's not that I don't, I don't mind being gone from you. It's that I can't sleep in hotel rooms. Without me? Without, without you. Yeah, no. What do you think it is? Deep, deep down.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Deep, deep down. Is it fear? No, I don't even know if it's you. I just like can't sleep like knowing I'm away. Oh, really? I feel like when I'm away, I'm like, I'm like, out. No, it's so weird. Like, I know, I know. And then, you know, like, when you can't sleep and then it gets in your head that you can't sleep. Why you just take like half a unison? Babe, I take like three scoops of beam when I'm gone.
Starting point is 00:03:12 No, I know, but like. And magnesium. I know, but a unisome will just, we'll knock you right out. I know, but then I'm groggy the next morning. I might, I might. I take a half, like, or like a third. It's like I like, I like being by myself for a little while, but it's the sleeping that's just weird. overstimulated. Interesting. You know? So anyway, we'll see how it goes. You said you FaceTime me tonight. I did. Well, I thought you would. Yeah. I mean, I, so Smith has been kind of sick and so I'm glad that I am staying behind because it's so weird. He's the only
Starting point is 00:03:45 child sick and he's like the one that's not going to school and not going to the soccer games and not getting, you know what I mean? Yeah. And nobody else is sick. Poor baby. And he had a horrible throw up yesterday. I think he's just teething. You think? No, I think you just had a fever and was like throwing up because of the teething. Yeah, I bet I don't see any teeth. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:04:07 No, I think he's teething because you chew on my finger. Oh, I probably feel good. Yeah. Well, I'm so sorry that you're going to be leaving us for tonight. You know what's been really interesting to me is I've been listening to so many podcasts this week. And I'm like, damn, we need to step it. Oh, they're that good?
Starting point is 00:04:27 Oh, so good. Have you listened to Love Trapped? No, but you, oh, the one about Clayton, Kirchall or whatever? Bizarro. Or what's his name? Clayton Churchill is like a good Christian guy. What's his name? Clayton Eckerd.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Eckerd, yeah, that one. So he was a former bachelor, so much so that like, I want to go back and watch his seasons of the Bachelor because I'm so curious now, but he was a former bachelor who was hated. His season, apparently he was hated because like at the Rose ceremony at the very end, he told the two girls, like he was like, I'm in love with both of you guys and I had sex with both of you guys. And then I don't know, like, it was just like a horrible way to end it, apparently, but he was just like brutally honest. And then he ended up with a girl named Sally, I guess, and then they were hated for their relationship. This is what the podcast said.
Starting point is 00:05:12 And then they were together for a year. They broke up. He moved to, where did this happen? Oh, man, I can't remember where this whole thing happened. But, oh, I think it was Arizona. Okay. And so maybe Scott Stale, if I had to guess. So he connects with a, he gets into realty.
Starting point is 00:05:31 He's a realtor. And he, it's like really struggling for cash. Like they talk about how you would assume because someone's a celebrity or bit on the bachelor or whatever that they're like completely well off. And no, like there, he was like not struggling, but he needed to work. He was like really hustling for commission. and stuff. So he connected with this like pretty girl over LinkedIn. Her dad is a well-known figure. He's like a famous radio guy. His name's Ron Owens. And so he's kind of like a like very like, you know,
Starting point is 00:06:07 local celebrity and super normal, you know, from the outside. She like is into horse racing, you know, that sort of thing. And so what kind of horse racing? English. Western. Yeah. I think those girls are crazy. It's always the horse girls, I'm telling you. No offense if you're one of them, but they were always a little cray cray. Well, they're typically like well off. Yeah, no, especially if you're English writer. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Yeah. So anyway, she messages, you know, the bachelor over LinkedIn. She's like, hey, I'm looking to connect with some like, you know, local young entrepreneurs. Like, can we read, you know. So I guess she was also looking to buy a house. So she became his. client and like she started flirting with him one night he took an edible and invited her over and he was just like I was looking for you know a booty call a booty call and she came over
Starting point is 00:07:05 she took an edible they you know did some other stuff but didn't ever like actually yeah yeah you know do the deed the full deed you know a like a couple days later she's like still flirting with him and he's like this is a little too much so he tries to kind of break it off with her and say hey I'm not looking for anything serious. And she kind of becomes, like, obsessed with him. And it's, like, threatening because she's, like, so he can start to pick up on the fact that, like, she's using their professional relationship to get to know him, like, in a personal way because she was still his client.
Starting point is 00:07:40 So she would, like, want to go look at all these houses, but she really just wanted to see him. So, um, stage five cleaner. She would be like, can you make an offer on this house? And he wouldn't even put the offer through because he just knew that she wanted to wasn't actually serious, you know. But then she started, like, giving him legal threats and was like, why don't you just give me a chance? You know, I'm supposed to be her client. Like, and you're not, like, you know, fulfilling my, the duties of our, of your job and blah, blah, blah. So, like, then she's like,
Starting point is 00:08:12 also just, you know, I haven't been taking birth control so I could possibly be pregnant. And he's like, how we didn't actually do it. And I guess, like, I don't. know the details of everything but there are ways that like women can well let's not get into the the the mechanics but whatever you're alluding to is terrifying yeah maybe oh wait wait wait wait wait so they didn't okay well first of all just so you know like you can get pregnant without you know really yeah i know it's but it's a very low chance but it's like if somehow like you pre-go And then it like goes back to it or with like rubbing or something or which what he was so concerned about was that after This is a little yeah just speaking code. Okay, so like for the for our younger audience. Yes, so
Starting point is 00:09:10 Okay, so like after is BJ code. Yeah, yeah, okay, BJ's code. So BJ in the mouth. You could go and put it into a test like a vile and shoot it up there. It's possible. They had a, they had like an OB. Yeah. So like women can be impregnating themselves. So he was scared that that's what she did. Because right after that happened, she ran to the bathroom. I know. So scary. Like, so freaky. So anyway, he is like, so she's like prepping him, hey, you know, I might be pregnant. Just, you know. And he's like, yeah, I know there's no way because. And then like three days later, she's like, hey, I'm pregnant. And he's like, I don't believe you. So he makes her come over and he buys a pregnancy to us. And in the meantime, he's like, he talks to her mom because he's like, this girl's crazy.
Starting point is 00:10:03 And the mom like vouches for her and is like, honey, she's a great girl. Like just give her a chance. Oh, yeah. I read that her parents are like still backing her. Like it like drove him into bankruptcy. It's crazy. And the mom is like, honey, give her a chance. Like she'd be a great mother.
Starting point is 00:10:20 she has like some really wonderful like characteristics no yeah she's an only child no she has a sister and so he makes her come over and buys he buys his own test because he's like wants to make sure it's not like been tampered with and she goes in the bathroom and he's like no I want to watch you pee because I want to see it actually and she's like no like I want like I can't pee with you watching but he gives her the pregnancy test that he bought comes out positive so he's like oh my gosh horrible guy. I have been doubting this girl. She is pregnant and I like, I feel so bad. But they didn't, they didn't do it. Yeah, I guess like maybe there's like some rubbing or something. Okay. And so she was like, just so you know that's possible. But he was like, there's no way.
Starting point is 00:11:08 And she claimed that like they were both so high that they couldn't or he couldn't remember. And he was like, I wasn't that high. Like I remembered everything. So he's like, okay, you are pregnant. now I want to get a paternity test. And she's like, okay, great. So over the course of like months, she schedules appointments, she gets the paternity test, and then would cancel.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Schedule another one, cancel. He would schedule one, then she would cancel. And he was being, like, very patient with her. And he started to get like, he was like, this girl is pregnant by somebody else. And she was like, I promise you, I have not had, you know,
Starting point is 00:11:45 sexual relations with anyone else in like over a year outside of you. So in this, period, are they like just like coworkers kind of thing, like just dealing with it? Are they dating? Oh, no, no. So in this period, I think even, oh, even before the pregnancy test, he had blocked her. And she started sending him like, I think all in all she sent him like 500 messages or something. And so she is like emailing, like harassing him would be like really sweet one day and then like really like crazy to the next day. And so then, like, finally the pregnancy test, like confirms it.
Starting point is 00:12:25 And but then, you know, she keeps canceling all these appointments. And she will not admit that it is not, like, she is just so dead set on the fact that he is the father and that she is pregnant. So she starts, she's like, I'm not going to take a paternity test. Like, I know that you're the only one. I don't need to waste money like that. And he's like, I'll pay for it. And she's like, no. I don't need to do that.
Starting point is 00:12:50 I know that you're the father. I just went and got a sonogram. Here's our baby. Just so you know, the twin gene runs in my family. So you could be having twins. And so she always, like, would preface what was about to happen, like, three days before. And then it would happen. Like, just so you know, I could be pregnant.
Starting point is 00:13:08 And then she would be pregnant. Just so you know, I could have twins. So then, like, three days later, she gets another sonogram. And there's, you know, she has twins. This is horrible. No. And so he is, he is, like, he is like. He is like just like dying to get this paternity test because he's like, I don't believe this girl.
Starting point is 00:13:24 And I mean, it goes on and on and on. So then they bring, so then he like starts, you know, he brings in a lawyer and he's like, you know, trying to get this paternity test. He finds, oh, I think this is when it maybe goes, at some point it goes public because she is the first one to like make. like bring in a lawyer. And I guess whenever you're charged with something, like sometimes they can go public. What does that mean? When you're charged with something?
Starting point is 00:13:56 Like the records are now public. Oh, like unsealed? No, just like whenever you're charged with something, now they're public instead of. Sealed? Indicted?
Starting point is 00:14:08 I don't know. Oh, okay. I don't know. Okay, whatever. And so the public now knows that Clayton is in this like paternity scandal.
Starting point is 00:14:15 And somebody DMs him and is like, hey, this is Ashley. You need to talk to my boyfriend. The same thing happened to him with Laura. Oh, with the same girl. Owens, yes. What? So come to find out there are like two or three other men that she did the same
Starting point is 00:14:33 exact thing too. But she claimed that she was pregnant and then had abortions or pregnant and then had miscarriages with them. And so this other guy, Greg Gillespie, hired an attorney. And this attorney, you know, was fighting on behalf of Greg Gillespie. Well, so Clayton reaches out to that attorney is like, hey, I need your help because she's doing the same thing to me. And the attorney's like, I don't want to get involved with that girl. She accused, apparently she was raped and she accused me and Greg for sending someone over to rape her.
Starting point is 00:15:09 So then he got caught up in like her craziness, the lawyer. Wait. Are you serious? Yeah. I'm not leaving so much stuff out, but it's like, it's the craziest podcast. It's kind of told, like, serial. It's called Love Trapped. Like, y'all should all listen to it. Trust me, they do it way better. No, no, I'm, I'm hooked. Okay. So, so does she get, do they drop the case after that? And they're just like, where's leaving? Hey, she goes all the way to trial. The trial is like aired publicly, like, to this day. No, no, no. I'm talking about Greg Gillespie. Oh, yeah. So Greg ended up, like, fighting her. And I don't know if it went all the.
Starting point is 00:15:48 the way to trial. But, like, I guess he, I guess he, quote unquote, I don't know if he, like, won because I think with her, with that scenario, she was claiming that she had, like, a miscarriage or she lost the baby, like, really early on. The craziest thing about all of these guys that she does it to is, like, why? Like, she's not trying to get money out of them. It's like, she just wants attention. But she doesn't, is it, like, extortion? Like, she wants them to be. And, like, be loved because at a certain point. Extortion, yes, because so when she is messaging, so this is the weirdest part. She also was like harassing Clayton with, you know, I'm pregnant.
Starting point is 00:16:30 Do you want me to take the plan B pill? And Clayton would be like, listen, this is not my body. Like, yes, I would like for you too, but I'm not going to tell you what to do. And she would be like, here, I'll make you a deal. If you date me, I'll have, I'll have an abortion. but if you don't date me, I am going to have this baby. And he was like, so he's literally, yeah, she's like basically extorting him for love. Like, did she do the same with Greg?
Starting point is 00:16:57 Yeah. She did like, it was like kind of the same song and dance with all of them. There was another guy. And I'm still listening to the last episode. There's another guy called, his last name is like macro, it looks like macaroni. Okay. Same thing. But he, both of them, like, didn't want to go on the podcast because they don't want to,
Starting point is 00:17:16 like put anything out there until Laura is like behind bars because she's still not in jail. Like, she's still awaiting, awaiting her sentence. Is it all based on the, the Clayton trial? Yes. Okay. So Clayton's the only one who took it all the way through. I guess to trial, yeah. And he won? Oh, yeah. I mean, but it was so crazy. Like, even in trial, like, so they play all of the clips of her in trial. And she is just like a crazy liar. And she's so confident. whenever she's speaking. And like, the lawyers would like catch her in a dead out lie. Like she, like she never went to the doctor and she fabricated all of these, um, like sonograms and medical records. Yeah. Documents. She also had told Greg that she had like ovarian cancer. And I think that I don't
Starting point is 00:18:05 remember was Greg or the guy before. It was the guy before they dated for like a year and a half. So he like really, really knew her. And she always had these like crazy stories, things, crazy things going on with her life. But yeah, so, like, you can hear her and try. And so these lawyers would catch her in a lie and be like, you said you went to Planned Parenthood on March 17th, but the logo here shows that you were at Smile. They called it.
Starting point is 00:18:30 It was like, SML, this clinic. Because she photoshopped it. And she'd be like, yeah, I photoshopped it because I didn't want him to know where I actually was. And she'd be like, okay, but you said that you went anonymously, but your name is on here. So you obviously didn't go on. So they're catching it.
Starting point is 00:18:46 And she'd be like, yeah, because I just wanted him to know that it was actually mine. And so I photoshopped it. And so the craziest thing is, so this guy named David Neal, who he covers like the Bachelor franchise, he's kind of like reality Steve, but he's been like, he has his own podcast. He starts investigating this whole thing. And he does a live with like, because all of this is happening in real time with these audiences. And he starts investigating and he's doing a live with like his partner and they're looking at the sonograms and they're able, they reverse search it and they find the sonogram that
Starting point is 00:19:25 she claimed was hers on a blog post from some girl like 10 years ago. Some girl like posted her her sonogram and like talked about a miscarriage or something. And not only that, but they're like looking at it and they're like everybody on a live they're like looking at every single like you know all of the words and all of like the numbers on there and they're like really like searching they find do you know what fiber is yeah it's like uh it's like where you hire like gig workers so you can see the faintest little fiber logo over the sonogram and like no one had caught it before and he's like looking and he's like guys i see these letters like like like what are these letters and the audience is like screaming at you know he's doing alive and
Starting point is 00:20:14 they're like fiber fiber so she had sent it through fiber and someone had to alter it altered it for her to add a twin to just she had so many like sonograms and things that she was like altering so he won when did this trial end this is like last year right 20 23 2024 yeah so why is she still not been sentenced i think it has something to do with like the other two guys guys maybe. That's so crazy. Yeah. So do we have any idea of how long she's going to be in jail? I don't know. I mean, she, she, I really hope it's a long time because like not only that, but she lied under oath multiple times. Yeah, she's, she's, and what are the parents saying? Because the parents are the most confusing thing. That's what I've been trying to like.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Because I just Googled it when you were listening to and I was like, what are the, where are the parents in this? I tried to Google it too because I was trying to understand. So her dad is sick. Yeah. So her dad, I believe, has Parkinson's. And so, and then the mom, I don't know, like, to me, sometimes, not always. But I'm like, when you have a crazy person, like, usually one of their parents was a little crazy too, you know? Yeah. Well, if the mom was like, if the mom was like, you should give her a chance. No, it's like they knew.
Starting point is 00:21:29 That's so crazy. They obviously had known that Laura had done this before. Yeah. So, I mean, it's just. So, and last question is, did she, was she actually pregnant? Or was it a fake? No, so apparently she has like epilepsy. And some of the medication you take for that can sometimes increase your, like, I think
Starting point is 00:21:50 it's called HCG. HCG, I can't remember, but it's like a hormone that increases whenever you're pregnant. You can also take like pills that increase that so that your test would come out positive even though. So was she wearing like a fake belt? Yeah. Okay. So that's the other thing.
Starting point is 00:22:05 So they had like Zoom call meetings like with the. attorneys and the judge. And she would be like, Your Honor, can I show Clayton that like I am currently pregnant? Like I act. And she would like get up and like show her belly. She was wearing a fake belly. In court. Yeah. And then she came out and told him that it was all virtual. But like, it just became like very convenient. Like right before they were going to have the trial where she's like showing up a person, she said she lost the baby. And she says she lost the baby. And she's like 23 weeks pregnant when she, you know, says she lost the baby and or lost the babies. And she doesn't go to the doctor. She doesn't go to the emergency room. She's like, yeah, I just like passed these like two
Starting point is 00:22:49 little sacks and I called the emergency like hotline and they just said I was fine. Like, that's not what happens. That's so crazy. No, it's it's kind of scary. No, it's terrifying. And that is why you don't sleep around. You don't sleep around. Yeah. Y'all know I just started working out again. and I'm really trying to be consistent in the gym, and let me tell you, salt and stone has become very important part of my routine. I love putting their deodorant on before I work out, because even when I finish and I'm like, okay, I definitely need to shower. Somehow I still smell good. It smells like I put on perfume, but it's literally just my deodorant. And as a mom before, I feel like I'm constantly running from one thing to the next. I don't always
Starting point is 00:23:30 have time to fully shower and get ready again immediately after a workout. So I love that I can apply my deodorant on in the morning and feel confident about smelling good all day. I'm also very particular about sense. I don't want something that feels super overpowering, but I do want people to be like, wow, what are you wearing? And the Santal scent is that for me. It smells expensive and elevated, which I love. Their deodorant is also award-winning, aluminum-free and formulated for 48-hour protection. And apparently, Salt and Stone sells one deodorant every five seconds, which honestly makes complete sense to me. I've actually tried Salt and Stone's Discovery Set, and I think it's the best way to find your favorite because you don't
Starting point is 00:24:08 to guess based on scent description online. You get to try all four, Santal, Bergamont, saffron, and Nerole, wear each one for a little while and see which one smells good and feels good to you. I initially couldn't decide which scent was my favorite because they all smell so good. So the Discovery set was a great way for me to test them all out. Try Salt and Stone's Discovery set to find your signature scent. Go to salt and stone.com slash Danny and use code Danny at checkout for 15% off your first order. That's Salt andstone.com. com slash Danny and use code Danny for 15% off your first order. If you have kids, you know feeding them is basically a full-time job.
Starting point is 00:24:46 And right now, we somehow have kids in pretty much every stage of eating. Smith just started solids, so we're in the stage of trying different foods and figuring out what he likes. And then Summit is fully in the toddler stage where he wants to feed himself and loves everything we put in front of him. That's one of the reasons we've really liked Little Spoon. They make food specifically for different stages your kids are in. so we're starting from scratch every time one of them hits a new phase.
Starting point is 00:25:11 For Smith, they have baby blends, which are fresh, refrigerated, organic purees that introduce different flavors, nutrients and textures as babies grow. They have pouches, too, which are clutched when we are trying to get four kids out the door. Then for summit, they have biteables, cut-to-size meals made for toddlers who are learning to feed themselves. Starting point is 00:26:28 I feel like I'm at the stage of life where I refuse to choose between cute shoes and comfortable shoes. Like I have four kids, I'm running around all day and if a shoe hurts my feet, I'm just not going to wear it. And lately, I've been wearing the Alameda Mary Jane flats from Vionic, which, first of all, are so cute. I love the Mary Jane trend right now because they make even a really basic outfit feel a little more put together. But the thing I love about Vionic is that they actually think about what's happening inside the shoe, too. The Alameda has this really pretty square toe and adjustable strap so you can get the fit right, and a mechanically designed footbed that gives you actual comfort and support. They even come with two insoles so you can
Starting point is 00:27:10 customize the fit. I've been throwing them on with jeans, dresses, even just an easy everyday outfit when I want to look a little more pulled together without wearing heels. They're one of those shoes that make it look like you tried a little harder on your outfit than you actually did, which I love. And especially this time of year, I feel like Mary Jane is such an easy shoe to transition into fall. And I can actually be on my feet in them, which is the whole thing for me. Myonic actually started by revolutionizing medical orthotics, and they've taken that science and used it to create shoes that are supportive but still genuinely stylish. Vionic Shoes. wearable well-being for your feet. It's such a great segue into what I was going to talk about. Not sleeping around? No. So I go to this Bible study every Tuesday and
Starting point is 00:28:14 this week was like about like Deuteronomy 28 through 30. Oh yeah, my favorite. No, it's a snoozer for sure. But it just reminded me because it was like talking about what your life looks like outside of like God's obedience
Starting point is 00:28:32 or like obedience to God. And it's like, it's like one of the few passages that like lists out the symptoms of like what you should, what you will feel like if, and if you are feeling these things like it could be a sign like, hey, like check in and see like if you're like being disobedient in one area. I'm just going to read some of them.
Starting point is 00:28:51 And it's like a long list. Like madness, blindness, confusion of mind, languishing soul, no rest for the soul of your foot. Life hanging in doubt, dread night and day, morning evening dread, wishing for another time of the day always, defeat before enemies, out one way, fleeing seven, siege by distant nation whose language
Starting point is 00:29:13 you don't understand, exile and scattering, serving other gods, becoming a proverb. It was basically like, it was kind of like it hit harder in the Bible study, but it was kind of like, as you're reading that, I was like, this is so like for the wages of sin or death. It's so like if you make these decisions, it is such a compounding effect into like ruining your life. It's crazy. And that's why it's like, I feel like a lot of times it's like, oh, God has all these rules and all these regulations and all these things. But it's like because he wants you to live a full joyful life, not because he wants to take things away from you. No, for sure.
Starting point is 00:29:54 Things are going to come back and bite you in the butt. And so that's why he wants you to. avoid those things and then you just have culture that's like sleep around do what you want be whoever you want be a cat today you know it's like yeah those things are going to mess up your life i mean that if there's anything about his story i don't know if he's a believer or anything but like you know it's just one of those stories that's that's that's like you don't want to do this you know and the absolute like impact of his decision just to sleep with that girl and like the years of bankruptcy and all of the torment.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Trauma. Trauma that it caused them is absolutely insane. And it's like, not only that, but it would like if I was single, I'd be scared to date a Clayton because like, you don't know, that girl is crazy.
Starting point is 00:30:46 No, she's evil. She's like evil. She's straight up like evil. Like, she's probably going to be diagnosed with something. Like I think she should plead insanity because she's insane. Like,
Starting point is 00:30:57 I mean. She's done it three other times. So. No, I know. But she's. got to be like bipolar or schizophrenic or something like they're going to diagnose her with something but like that's also just straight evil and it's like man poor guy I would you should have him on the
Starting point is 00:31:11 podcast is this the guy that dances on cameo yeah babe I've talked about him on this podcast yeah he's like six five I couldn't get I couldn't wrap my reminder around what he was doing the poor guy he just needed something to take his mind off of some joy in his life and he needed some money for legal fees. Yeah, so they had to start a GoFundMe to raise money for his legal fees because the lawyer that Greg Gillespie hired that had dealt with this girl before agreed to help him, but he couldn't afford the legal fees. So David Neal, the podcaster, was really sweet and started a GoFundMe for Clayton to be able to afford him. The good news about Deuteronomy 28 through 30 is if you keep reading, God always, even if you turn away and are disobedient,
Starting point is 00:32:00 when you turn back to obedience, he always is grace-filled and, like, reconcilatory. And so, like, maybe this is just, like, a huge part of the dude's journey. No, sometimes you got to go through it to come back to. You got to go through it. No. Man. But, like, the college culture, like, the unwell culture, like the, you know, it's like, bro, y'all are playing with fire out there.
Starting point is 00:32:26 No, it's like, you're going to get pregnant. And your life is going to look different. Did you have any call, like in your sorority or like Greek life, did anyone get pregnant that you know? Oh, probably. There's probably so many girls that had abortions. Yes. Oh, man. I was like in a Christian fraternity.
Starting point is 00:32:46 No, I mean, I had a, you know, I. You saw some stuff. Freshman year, I mean, I saw some stuff, especially with the football players. It's like the football players just. They do whatever they want. Yeah, and like any girl wants to be with him and doesn't care. It's just a hookup because he's a football player. That's so crazy.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Yeah. It's rough out there. Thank God we're married, man. No, I'm telling you. It's got to be rough out there. It's got to be. Speaking of Alex Cooper unwell, guys, we've been loving that Alex Errol.
Starting point is 00:33:23 You say, like, you... I think it's okay. Okay, here's the thing. He's like, I think it's okay, but there has not been a reality show. that has drawn you in like this one. No, I'm not drawn into this. You just won't let me watch Ozard.
Starting point is 00:33:35 No, I look at you because I'll put on love is blind. I'll put on any other reality show. You don't care. You're on your computer. When I look at you and you're watching Alex Or Olson show, you're always looking at it. That's how I know. No, I mean, I think that... Even if you're hate watching, you're still intrigued.
Starting point is 00:33:50 I'm not hate watching. I'm not hate watching. I don't hate her or her family. Not hate watching, but you know what I mean? No, I think for me it's more interesting because I know the dynamics they're going through, like as a family. No, no, but like, I don't think I like it for the same reasons that, like, most people like it. No, I think we all love the dynamics of their family.
Starting point is 00:34:11 No, no, no, the dynamics of their family. I'm talking about, like, what it's doing to them psychologically being on camera together as a family. I know. That's what we're all thinking. You think so? You think that you're so much deeper than us, but we're all like. No, I don't think I'm deeper than you. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:24 I'm just saying that what you find intriguing, we all do as well. Like this dad screwed up their life, but now he's coming out as like the famous Chris Jenner. Like that's what's so crazy about it. Is that. Yeah. You know what I mean? For no, for sure. I also, I don't know how they're going to sustain it though.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Because it's like you kind of are. There's so much because Alex is not single. So there's that whole love story is always going to be interesting. Like did you see what just came out with Braxton Berrios last night? No. Okay. So Alex Earle. spotted with Lando Norris.
Starting point is 00:35:00 You know who that is? He's like an F1 razor. Okay. And he has this like he has this beautiful ex-girlfriend. She's so beautiful. Her name is, I can't remember like Mia or something. Anyway, so Alex are always spotted with Lando Norris. And then last night in New York, Brxton was spotted with his ex.
Starting point is 00:35:20 Oh, bullcrum. This is so scripted. No. This has Kate Bailey's name written all over it. Babe. Braxton Beres is not on the show. Babe. Let me tell you something.
Starting point is 00:35:30 That is, what are the statistical odds of that happening? No, I'm sure that they saw that their exes were together and then they reached out and they got together. It wasn't statistical. I'm sure like it just happened like it happened like that. Oh, man. Yeah, I mean, that's pretty intriguing. No, I know. So stuff like that is going to be like.
Starting point is 00:35:49 Wasn't the cliffhanger of the show like him saying, oh Alex? Oh, I didn't watch. I haven't watched the whole thing yet. Have you? No, I just saw it on Twitter. Like that like that was the ending of the Baxon was saying that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:02 It's like she calls him and she's like... This show is so good for Baxter. No, for sure. So good for it. He's coming out 1,000% on top here. I know. So good. Because I mean, he seems like a good dude.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Yeah, I mean, the family loves him. Right. And Alex's little sisters are made for TV. Yeah. It's so crazy. It got really bad reviews though. But from like mainstream press. I know.
Starting point is 00:36:28 Like no one really cares. Nobody ever. No, it got really bad reviews. But like I've asked all my friends and we all love it. But are all of your friends creators? Yeah. Like I'd be curious like what, um,
Starting point is 00:36:41 non-creator friends think about it. Yeah. What do you all think of the Alex Earl show? I think it's so interesting. And I will say I was never an Alex Earl fan. Like I don't really follow her religiously on TikTok or Instagram. Like I don't really find anything that she does to be like very. relatable for me. Obviously, I'm a mother of four and she's like a college girl out parting or she was.
Starting point is 00:37:01 But even like I had friends that always loved her. I just, she never really, nothing really did it for me. And now because of the show, I like, I'm like intrigued. Well, then mission accomplished. Yeah, it's working. It works. It works. It is working. I just think once you get rid of like the Braxton storyline, you know, if that plays out. See, I so, I so disagree because now I want to know like what her dad is going to do. for them and their business and sees the dad dadager. Like I want to see how he takes their brands and like what they do to the next level. And I want to see what happens to Ashton because she's always in Alex's, you know, shadow. But like as we all know with Kylie Jenner, Kelly Jenner is one that came out on top.
Starting point is 00:37:43 Like is Ashton going to be the next Kylie Jenner? Oh, Ashton, the older sister? The younger sister. Oh, the younger sister. Yeah, the younger sister is like kind of like, dad, I never get attention. Like Alex is always the one doing everything. And that's what happened with Kylie. Everybody was like succeeding over Kylie and then Kylie came out billionaire.
Starting point is 00:37:59 Like I'm waiting for Ashton to have her moment. So like I'm bought in. Also I, um, the mom, what's her name? Lauren? I can't remember. Um, can't remember. This is just a podcast of me saying I can't remember anything. Um, Alex Earl's stepmother.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Uh-huh. Um, you know, she once was, they called her a call girl. Is that her name Ashley? Yes, Ashley. Yeah. Um, she was a call girl. Is that the right way to say it? I don't want to be.
Starting point is 00:38:24 Yeah. escort call girl yeah you know but that was also like 10 15 years ago and so i it'll be interesting to see like how her character kind of develops as she's giving the girl's advice and she hasn't been giving them very good advice what's so interesting is that um yeah and alex girl's mom like i want her to be happy you know the demilios kind of tried this right no and i it they tried it well what i find ironic is like i actually think that and i who knows what's going on behind the scenes but fame and the TV show like pretty much blew up that family. Like I mean, I think that she's like not working with her dad and so it this whole journey for them is either like they walked so that the earls could run or it's like both of them are screaming into a brick or like driving into a brick wall right now.
Starting point is 00:39:14 But it's ironic because I would say objectively speaking the earls are a more broken family. But that's what makes good reality TV. No, I know. And like I think that the Dimelios like started more, you know, wholesome. And they ended up in a place that like, I think money, fame, all the things that happened there. Wrecked it. And so it'll be interesting if the Earls can come on top of that. Because they're already wrecked.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Kind of. And it almost like. Their marriage is already fallen through. It's almost like they've learned to work through the dysfunction already that they're kind of like, ah, you know, let's just do this. Yeah. It's like they've already gone. through that big, um, public scandal too. Right. Like with Ashley and their main, like Alex talks about
Starting point is 00:39:59 how she remembers paparazzi showing up at her house when she was like in elementary school. Yeah. You know? And so, but I think that that's what makes reality TV interesting is having like that broken story to begin with like even with, um, the Kardashians in the sex tape scandal. That's what made it that's what made it interesting. And then you have Alex Earl's dad buying her a boob job. Like that's, different. You know, that's very Chris Jenner. Right. So it's very Kardashian style to me. It's almost like what you're saying is like
Starting point is 00:40:30 it's... Nobody wants to watch a functional family. It's sad. I'm just telling you, like I'm just telling you the way that it is. I'm not saying it's good. Did you ever watch the D'Amilios season? Yeah, I did. Was it boring? So boring. Yeah. The parents are still in love. There's nothing
Starting point is 00:40:44 like the... They're like launching businesses that are just not interesting. Charlie and Dixie, like they're not they're also, they were going on dates, but it's also like kind of weird, like watching for me personally, they're so young. I'm like, I don't want to watch like teenagers go on dates. It feels young. Right. But Alex is like rubbing Tom Brady's back. Like, come on. That's super interesting. Right. Like that's a dad. That's like, he's like old. It's so crazy. Yeah. The, the show is,
Starting point is 00:41:15 is good. Yeah. And it's almost like they, they did start from brokenness. And so I'm sure that the family, it's has had to heal from a lot. And maybe that gives them the stamina to work through what's going to come with all the money, fame, success. Because in a weird way, and I don't know if this is just how he's portrayed, but like, you know, he does seem like he wants, I think he said one line to dad. He was like, I just want you guys to like have productive, happy, healthy lives. I don't remember.
Starting point is 00:41:47 He said something like that. And I think because he's probably made so many mistakes. he like more genuinely wants that. Whereas like I kind of feel like and I'm obviously just assuming, but I feel like Mark D'Amilio kind of like he wanted to build an empire with the shoe brand and stuff. And it was a little bit more about him too. Well, you have to think about it too. Like the Earls were already successful.
Starting point is 00:42:11 They already live in a mansion. Not because of Alex's success. And that's what I'm saying is like I think that it like makes them more, it gives them more stamina because. Yeah, because they don't care about the money. It's not about the money. They don't need to shill. like these shoes that don't that aren't cute.
Starting point is 00:42:24 They don't have to be working with Aristotle or whatever. And so I don't know. I feel like it's just like it's just more real. They can make wiser decisions. Yeah, because it's real. Like they actually do come from money. They already like have done all of this.
Starting point is 00:42:37 They don't need all that, you know. It doesn't feel as sponsored except, I mean, I will say she's getting that bag with like the Dunkin' Donuts. Deals. There was one of their big brand. It was a DoorDash. DoorDash integration. I'm like, girl get it.
Starting point is 00:42:51 Yeah, it's all. always like, I mean, I think that people, like, it's number, last night, it was like number three TV shows on Netflix. Anyone can sprint. Can they run the marathon? That's the question. You do? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:05 I have a special way of scouting these people out. I know. You know, I was wrong about one that I've always bet on. I don't think she's going to be able to run the marathon. Who? Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I think, I think it was, I think she lacked.
Starting point is 00:43:21 the discipline. Totally. Like mental, mental physical, like emotional discipline to like, okay, I'm not going to do this for a year. I'm going to do this for five years.
Starting point is 00:43:32 Well, what's so interesting is... Again, Danny, I think that's why... I don't want to build you up too much. Go straight to your head. But like, you are the definition...
Starting point is 00:43:43 Stamina. Of stamina in this industry. But here's the thing. I guarantee you, that is why Alex broke up with Braxton. She is like, I want to... run, I want to sprint for five more years. And like, I don't have time. And I know that I'm
Starting point is 00:43:56 going to hurt you. I don't have time to have a relationship. Like, this is my go time. And I don't want to have any, any, like, strings attached. Like, I'm just going full throttle. I'm going to blow up. And then, you know, she's going to try to settle. I guarantee you that's what she's doing. And it's career wise. I'm not saying life wise. Well, he wanted to get married. What? He wanted to get married. Yeah. And like, I'm sorry, but like, nobody wants to watch a show of a cute couple. Like, they want to watch Alex Earl for like the brand that she built, which was like her running around going on dates, rubbing Tom Brady's back. Like you know what I mean? Right. And then maybe ending up with Braxton after she like learns it. But that's just you know what's sad. He had a ring. Did you know that I
Starting point is 00:44:37 knew that? No. How did you know that? I can't even say it. But it was the most random source ever. Like it's not even from the entertainment industry. It was like. Are they going to be mad that you told us? No, no. I'm not going to say who told me, but like a deal. Did they tell you not to say? A deal that he was in that we got asked to be in. Like he had said like, yeah, like I'm, I'm ring shopping. Like I've got a ring. And I, and I, the person who told me that I was like, do you have any idea?
Starting point is 00:45:05 Oh, I do remember there's conversation. Like, how much money I could sell the information that you gave me. Are you going to be in trouble for sharing that though? No. Okay. No. I didn't say anything. And they broke up.
Starting point is 00:45:14 Well, you said it now. They broke up. I know, but is that person going to be mad at you now? No. No. This is untraceable data. But what I'm saying is that poor guy had a ring. And then she goes on dancing with the stars.
Starting point is 00:45:27 That'd be like me wanting to propose to you. And then you being like, no, not ready. Which honestly, that happened to me a couple of times. So it's not a big deal. To me? Not with you. Oh, you were going to propose to somebody else? No, no, not not proposed.
Starting point is 00:45:38 But like it, I feel like, no, no. It's like a very classic girl breakup move where it's like, it's not, it's not you. It's me. It's timing. and like, I just am not ready for this. I believe girls when they say that. I do too. But they're also because you're not the one.
Starting point is 00:45:55 True. Well. Because here's the thing. That's how I felt about everybody. But then I met you and I was like, because do you, I don't know if you remember, but I was always like, I'm not going to get married until I'm 30 because I want to sore. And I met you.
Starting point is 00:46:06 And I was like, fine. True. So I think it's just because you haven't met the right one. Well, her situation is different though because I, I don't know. You and I are different on this. Like I still think she wants to. to be with Braxton. I think she is like classic,
Starting point is 00:46:21 wants her cake and eat it to. Yeah, of course. We all would want that. So that means that she could want to still end up with him. I don't think that she doesn't love him and doesn't want him.
Starting point is 00:46:29 I think she knows career-wise it's not a smart move, so she broke up with him. And it's smart for her career to break up with him. It is. Right, but doesn't that mean
Starting point is 00:46:38 that he still could be the one? Yeah, I think he still could be the one. She would have to go on a pretty serious apology to her. I think he'd take her right back. I do feel like the show is like pretty scripted too. Yeah, I think it always is.
Starting point is 00:46:53 It always is. But, you know, like when she was firing her best friend, Sally. You know, this actually reminds me. I'm shocked that I was able to segue into this tweet because I've been wanting to read this for a couple weeks. Okay. It was such an interesting topic. Okay. I'm just going to read it to you.
Starting point is 00:47:09 Okay. And it's like about, we always talk about this, but like the marriage crisis of like no one's wanting to get married and no one's like together. marriage used to be a starting point two people would come together with almost nothing to their name but each other and then they would build everything side by side this process of building led to bonding it built loyalty it required tremendous sacrifice and most of all it taught interdependence but now we are told the opposite we are told instead that we need to have it all before we marry we need a good career a home a bunch of money in the bank your entire identity discovered and solidified a passport filled with stamps a degree and much date experience. The problem with this is that by the time two people finally decide to join one another, they have spent most of their lives learning how to do life alone. So it is not, it is no wonder then that building a life with someone else suddenly feels so much harder. Marriage used to be a beginning, not now it is an afterthought to an already built life. Two already self-sufficient and self-reliant people do not easily merge in mesh. It is hard to go from the perspectives of mine to
Starting point is 00:48:15 ours when individualism is all we have ever known. And this is why individualism has become the death of marriage. I agree with that. It's crazy, right? It is so true. And that every single person I talk to, like guys or girls, like I think guys even more so, they feel like they have to have it all figured out first. And it's like no like get married and then you can both figure out together. And two minds is greater than one. Right. And I think that we, I think the luck of our story is like it worked like you didn't have a moment where it would have worked against either of us to get married you know like in fact it probably helps a lot of things you know um but i do agree with you in her situation it would have hurt the show and slowed her down.
Starting point is 00:49:03 just slowed her career down in general slowed her career down whereas like now it's like Taylor Swift like could not have gotten married correct like when she's on reputation tour and like when she was dating joal when it was a disaster yeah She could still be dating him behind the scenes. Baxter? Yeah. No, he was with that girl last night. Allegedly, isn't all this stuff staged or no?
Starting point is 00:49:25 Babe, you're such a hater. Just quit thinking about it. Okay, all right. Who knows? Who knows? We have moved enough over the last few months that I feel like I could basically have a second career in moving at this point. And one thing I've learned is that not every place you live needs to be furnished like it's your forever home. Sometimes you are in between houses moving for work.
Starting point is 00:49:45 waiting on furniture to arrive or just need something for a season in life and buying an entire room of furniture that you may only need temporarily just doesn't make a lot of sense. That's where court furniture rental comes in. And we've actually rented furniture from court before. So this isn't a new concept for us. We've used them during one of those in-between seasons where it just didn't make sense to go buy furniture for a space we weren't in long term. And now that we found ourselves in a temporary living situation, I'm reminded of how helpful
Starting point is 00:50:15 something like that can be. Sometimes you just need a couch, a table, whatever it is for right now, and you don't want to buy a bunch of furniture just to figure out what to do with it a few months later. That's what I like about court. You can choose one of their curated move-in ready packages or build your own. Pick your delivery date and they'll deliver everything and set it up for you. It's so nice to have it all done for you one at a time. And then when you're ready to move on, court picks the furniture back up, No figuring out how to sell a couch you don't need anymore or moving furniture from one temporary place to another. It's just a really practical option when you need your space to feel like home without committing to furniture you don't actually need long term. Rent today at court.com
Starting point is 00:50:56 slash podcast. That's c-o-r-t dot com slash podcast. One thing I've realized as a dad is that kids learn so much better when they actually realize they're learning. Like think about when you were a kid. The stuff you remember isn't sitting at a table doing worksheets, it's building something, taking something apart, trying to figure out how it works. And now, as a parent, I love watching our kids have those moments where you can literally see it click for them. That's why I really like KiwiCo. Their crates give kids an actual hands-on project to build, create and figure out for themselves,
Starting point is 00:51:29 and selfishly, I love anything that gets our kids excited about doing something that doesn't involve asking for us for a screen. They have different crates based on age and interest. covering everything from science and engineering to art and world discovery. So as your kids get older, the projects can grow with them, and they're actually building skills while you're having fun. And I think my favorite part is watching them work through something when they don't immediately know the answer.
Starting point is 00:51:55 As a parent, your instinct is always to jump in and help, but then they figure it out for themselves, and they're so proud of what they made. Plus, Kiwi-Code does the legwork. If you listen to this podcast regularly, you know that Smith has not exactly been blessing us with a full night's rest or sleep. We have talked about this multiple times. We are very much still in the waking up in the middle of the night stage,
Starting point is 00:52:50 and there is just something about a 2 a.m. feeding that makes every single task feel 10 times harder, which is why I feel like the mom cozy night pro bottle warmer was literally made for parents in this exact season. You don't have to turn on all the lights and fully wake yourself or the baby up. It has a transparent water tank with a nightlight so you can actually see what you're doing, and it can warm a bottle in about three minutes. It also remembers your settings, which is amazing because I do not need to be doing math, pressing a million buttons while Smith is crying, and I'm half asleep. And then there's the mom cozy deep clean bottle washer D8,
Starting point is 00:53:23 which handles the other part of feeding a baby, the never-ending bottles and bottle parts sitting in your sink. It can clean eight bottles at once and washes, sterilizes, and dries everything in about an hour and a half. It even has Target Wash and Pump 360 technology to get into those annoying little areas like nipples, straws, and pump parts. Basically, fewer nights standing over the sink washing bottles, which I think every parent can get behind. If you're in the infant stage or know someone who is, you need these Mom Cozy products in your
Starting point is 00:53:53 life. They're a total game changer. Right now, you can get 10% off the Night Pro bottle warmer and 10% when you pre-order the deep clean bottle washer D8 at Momcozy.com with code Danny. But move fast. Oh, I want to talk about the Alex Cooper drama.
Starting point is 00:54:19 What's that? With Alex Earl. Oh, yeah, she's just a shrewd businesswoman, right? Whether you watch the show or not, this is relevant because... She's trying to climb out of that hole with those pamper's giveaways, though. She's trying to. Dude, no way. She's trying to steal straight from the mommy bloggers.
Starting point is 00:54:38 So she totally is. I was like, dude, girl, this is a mommy blogger thing. Like, please. Yeah, she's trying to. Like, please. We pioneered that. So she, so on the show, Alex Earle, obviously Alex Cooper and Alex Earl, you know, have beef. Alex Earl was signed to the Unwilled Network with Alex Cooper for like about a year.
Starting point is 00:55:00 and, you know, started making passive-aggressive comments about Alex Cooper, left the Unwell Network. And Alex Cooper, when she was pregnant, like people didn't know, made a video calling out Alex Earl and being like, hey, girl, what's your problem with me? Like, if you have a problem, just say it. So on this show, Alex Earl talks about the drama, the beef that she has with Cooper. And it's essentially that Cooper took advantage of her when she was young. and signed her to this network,
Starting point is 00:55:32 would try to get her drunk to talk about certain, like, embarrassing things on a podcast episode. I think that happened, like, one time, right? Yeah, signed her and then kind of didn't, like, help her out. Like, honestly, it was just a bunch of, like, mama, like, blah, blah, blah. Like, Cooper really didn't do anything, like, that wrong.
Starting point is 00:55:51 Like, yes, character-wise, she wasn't the best friend and the best business person. But in terms of, like, like, girl, I don't know what, expected. You signed up to do business with Alex Cooper. The network is called unwell. And so I guess that Earl thought that Cooper was going to come in and like really take her under her wing. And she just felt like she was like very shrewd and, you know, didn't put like Alex's best interest at heart. And I'm like, yeah, girl, it's a business. She's trying to take advantage of you to grow her own business. Like she's trying to get, you know, do interviews so that people say stuff
Starting point is 00:56:28 so that she can clip it. Like that's the type of person that you got in bed with and that's the type of relationship you're gonna have. She outgrew her and she's like Matt like she signed a deal then she outgrew her.
Starting point is 00:56:40 And it's mad. And it's mad. That's the same thing that Alex Cooper did to Barstool. Exactly. It's the same thing. But like trust me, I would never want to work with Alex Cooper.
Starting point is 00:56:49 I don't think she's like the greatest business person either. I don't know what her personal character's like but you know. And so to me it's just like it kind of did feel like Alex Earl was like stirring the pot and like nothing really like that big no I happened because I mean we were watching that part and I was like curious to see if she actually like did something egregious and it's it's like it's all kind of petty stuff it's like it's all emotional
Starting point is 00:57:14 stuff but what probably happened was she joined unwell when like it was like partying and drinking like that's like it was like oh my gosh the two Alexes are going to like go out and party together And you could tell like they hosted events around like bars and drinking and stuff like that. And they were both, you know, sort of businesswoman. But I think this was before her dad was helping her out. I think I theorized this on this on one of the podcasts. And I was like, I guarantee the dad broke up this relationship. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:43 I mean, for sure. Because he came in and he was like, you're bigger. Like we can do better, which he's not wrong about. But it's like you sign the deal. You never know until you sign with these people. And a lot of times they promise you the moon and the stars. For sure. The only way you're going to get the moon of the stars is if you go after it yourself.
Starting point is 00:57:57 Like, it's very rare that you sign with something or someone or some agency and then like your life changes. Yeah. It's like, even with musicians, it's like, you know, you want to get your music out there. Like now it's about the marketing that you're going to put into your own album and your own. Unless you're going like OG traditional like radio. Oh, yeah. I don't think that works anymore. It's just different.
Starting point is 00:58:20 And so, um, so like a lot of times you're like, wow, I'm going to feel so supported. I'm going to be this. I'm going to do that. Yes, they might be able to give you, like, more connections, like, help you with networking. But you're still going to have to be the one to, like, go after everything. I also think it was a little bit of a case of, like, never meet your heroes. Because I think that Alex Earle did look up to Cooper. A lot.
Starting point is 00:58:41 And I think that Cooper saw Alex as, like, a stepping stone to her empire. Yeah. And there was probably, like, oh, like, this is different than what I expected. But I think both, like, I think Alex Earl was probably a little bit. bit wrong in like having those expectations yeah of like you're going to mentor me like personally and it's going to be this whole thing you have to be very careful who you do business with you know yeah I think you're you're pretty spot on though like rarely is someone going to like help you in the way that you think that you think it's like always like I feel like if there's like one lesson we've learned
Starting point is 00:59:16 like in entertainment or in building divvy and other things it's always going to fall back on you It's always going to end up doing everything. You can hire this person that has the most insane resume, insane experience. In every experience or like everything that we're doing is so unique to us and not just us, it's everybody these days. Like no matter like if you're launching a business yourself, it's so unique to you, that it's very rare that someone can come in and like help you blow it out of the water. That's why I think you see so many like husband wives like working together because they just get it.
Starting point is 00:59:49 Like they your husband gets your business. The wife gets your business on like a level that. no CEO, no CMO, no CMO could ever understand, you know? Well, they, those people can help. No, they definitely help, but it's like, just like Unwell could have helped and like did. But like if you expect them to drive the ultimate growth, it's just not, and your ultimate vision, it's not going to happen.
Starting point is 01:00:13 Yeah, exactly. You know, and they're like a lot of these like structures are just not set up. Like Unwell is a network. They have to service multiple people. So if you really. really wanted like if you really want like help you got to hire it yourself like put it on your own payroll because then they report to you which is what dadager earl ended up doing yeah exactly you know yeah i mean but you're right you can't know until you like get into the business like and i would
Starting point is 01:00:41 say every like one to three years like you have this like moment where you're like should i sign with them yeah and then you get really close and then like should i have should i like i want to be part of this agency or i want helping this way and every single time I've done it. And this, but that's because I'm also, like, I like to be a little bit more hands on. And I know that not everyone likes that. But for me personally, like, every time I'm like, I've tried that, I'm like, I'm still the one, like, having to grow this thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:13 At the end of the day, it's like, who do you want? I think it comes down to if you can figure out how to hire people and manage people, like, you can do it on your own. But a lot of people can't do that. They get really overwhelmed or they're like, hey, I hired my best friend, which is what Alex Earl did. I hired my best friend. And then like, what's payroll?
Starting point is 01:01:33 And that is, I think, also why husband and wife's like worked together well is like usually one's like vision. One's like ops. And it's like that pairing is really good. If you're actually wanting to like grow your business, a lot of times you sign with those agencies and it could be a creative agency. It's like for your ego. Like a lot of times I think you just want to feel a part of something.
Starting point is 01:01:56 You want to feel like, wow, they want me. They like want me and they want to like help grow my business and they want and it feels so good that like sometimes you sign and then you ride the wave of that. And then it doesn't end up the way that you thought. Sometimes it does. And I mean, I would say like that's really good for a lot of people. Like it's really good for like there are management companies that like really take care of their talent. And it's just hard to stand out from the bunch. So like if you like even as a creator, if you want, if you are doing well and you want to be part of a community and you just kind of like want all the back office stuff taking care of, it's great.
Starting point is 01:02:37 Yeah. Right. But yeah, sometimes I think you feel a little bit left out. I mean less so now because we have four kids. No, yeah. Back then. I was a loner there for a little bit. Like there's always like these like events or trips or whatever.
Starting point is 01:02:52 You know, it's like the whole agency gets invited, but honestly, it's like, what did I go anywhere? It's the thought. I got an aborted machine now. She's busy. Who is it the brother? The brother 2000. Came in today. I came in like yesterday.
Starting point is 01:03:10 It's a big boy. Big bro. I'm excited about it. So, yeah. What are you going to embroider tonight? I don't know. Because most of what I want to. embroider. I want to embroider like the edge of something and I haven't learned how to do that. I only know how to
Starting point is 01:03:27 order like the board embroider the middle of something. What was your business called? Well, you know what? And I don't have called off-centered. Oh, you changed the name. Oh, imperfectly perfect. Yes. Oh, I felt like off-center was kind of a vibe. Oh, off-centered is a super vibe. I know. Who do you, who, uh, who do you sell to your embroidery services? Um, anybody listening to this podcast? I sound like a rapper, like off center. No, off center is really cool. It's like you're taking a grandma hobby and like making it cool. No, exactly.
Starting point is 01:04:00 Oh, I do want to talk about the new Dancing with the Stars cast. It's kind of interesting. Who is it? So Julia Stiles, the blonde from 10 Things I Hate About You. Julia Stiles. Okay, yeah. Like, where does she have been? I know, for real, dude.
Starting point is 01:04:15 I feel like she might be really good because she was like on that Save the Last Dance. Yeah. Jenna DeWan, she's from Step Up. the rookie. I think she might have been married to Channing Tatum. Okay. Tyler Cameron from The Bachelor. Okay. Sierra Miller. He's due. He's due.
Starting point is 01:04:33 Yeah. This is actually kind of one of the best like cast I've ever seen. Sierra Miller, it's because they're like all influencers or reality TV stars. Sierra Miller from Summerhouse. The one that got mad at Wes, his ex-girlfriend. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. She's spicy. Connor Wood. Do you remember Fibula? I know who he is, but I don't really know why he's like famous. He's a ticotker.
Starting point is 01:04:55 Oh, really? That's it? He's like, yeah. Oh, funny. I know. And he's on a good for him. It's fibula. Connor Levitt, which is Whitney Levitt's husband, which is so sweet.
Starting point is 01:05:04 Like, their brand is. Yeah. Chef's Kiss. Perfect. Do you know wrong right now? Like, she was on it. And now she, do you see that she's been wearing like shirts around town that say like Connor Levitt's wife?
Starting point is 01:05:15 Oh. It's so cute. Like the way they support each other are just, they're killing. it. Yeah. Sarah Jane Nader from the Brooks Nader's sister. Okay. Jackson Olson from Savannah Bananas.
Starting point is 01:05:28 You know the guy that runs around. And they are huge. Giata de Lurantis. I don't know. He's a celebrity or she's a celebrity chef. Taylor Hanson. Uh, from Hanson. Harry Shum.
Starting point is 01:05:41 Hanson? Like, Hanson, the three, like Hanson, the band? Yeah, this is. Mubbop? Yeah. Where's he been, man? I don't know. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:05:53 Harry Shum Jr. from Glee and Grey's Anatomy. Tatiana, Ali from Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Gulliareermo Rodriguez from Jimmy Kimmel Live. Stop. That's good. Oh, that is such a good one. Ezra French, the Paralympic Gold Medalist. Amber Glenn, Olympic gold medalist figure skater.
Starting point is 01:06:15 She's totally going to win. Isn't that crazy? Who won last time? That's a great lineup. It wasn't Whitney Levitt, right? It was, yeah. Steve Irwin's good. I think so.
Starting point is 01:06:28 Yeah. Yeah. He's pretty good. Okay. And the last thing I want to talk about before. We depart. We depart. Did you see all those influencers that were a problem at the U.S. open?
Starting point is 01:06:37 I heard about it. They were like doing, they like interrupted a match or something. Yeah, they're like in the middle of a match. They're like doing a TikTok or something. Yeah, that's tough. Well, is the U.S. Open, the counter argument to this was that the U.S. opens like a little less vibe than Wimbledon, right? I don't know. To me, it just like doesn't matter.
Starting point is 01:07:01 It's disrespectful no matter what. It's disrespectful to the sport? Yeah, to the players. Or? As a fellow tennis player myself, there, tennis and golf share an etiquette. You know, it's like, you know, that's why people dress up and you wear a polo and you're like respectful and you're not screaming in the middle of the matches. Well, but there's always like golf has the waste, what's it called the waste management open where it's just chaos. It's like a frat party.
Starting point is 01:07:33 Yeah. That's not the US open though. No, I don't think so. Okay. I mean, yeah, I don't know. It's just as a content creator myself, I feel like the goal is to go create public like, like, content. in public and be like the most discreet possible. I think that's your mature wise version of that, but like let's face it.
Starting point is 01:07:56 Like when you and I were grinding, we would go in and it's like about the content above all else. Like we're respectful for sure. Yeah. But like we're thinking like that shot is worth anything. And I think that's the mindset that they're going in with, which is kind of their job. So it's kind of the fault of the US Open of even letting in. Well, they were invited by a brand and this is where the controversy comes in.
Starting point is 01:08:20 It's like, do they just ban influencers? Or ban like any type of like, like, you know, that's why I think at the masters now they take your phone away. Yeah. And so now they're like, okay, the U.S. Open or do they need to take the phones away? Probably if you want to trade not having the exposure of the event, which you don't need from influencers. Like, it's a limited, it's a limited number of tickets. You have to admit it has blown up since influencers started posting about it. Like now it's like the U.S.
Starting point is 01:08:51 Open and probably any tennis. Yeah. Because like now it's like what are you wearing to the event? Now you have all of these like models dating these tennis players and like, you know. Right. But like here's the thing. I guarantee you their boardroom of executives is split straight down the middle of your purists that are like what we're doing to the sport is disgusting.
Starting point is 01:09:12 Versus like the new age people that are like, listen. If we don't do this, we are going to lose ratings. Yeah. No one's going to watch this on show on on TV. And like we are creating our own death. With it, when it comes to business, I would say keep the influencers in. Yeah. Purely ratings, business like growth of the sport 1,000% keep it in.
Starting point is 01:09:32 But you know who struggled with this? The MLB. They were very, very slow to like they were the last ones to have like a social media policy for like teams and how teams could use it. They typically kept like baseball off the social media map. And then baseball became irrelevant. So then they had to like speed up the sport, have like a pitch timer because no one wanted to watch it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:55 And so it just depends on what people want for tennis. I don't this is the way it's going. What are they going to do? I know. You got to have the clips. It's an interesting thought though. Like should there be more events that, you know, you have to lock up your phone like Taylor's Sweatting.
Starting point is 01:10:12 You'd a lock up your phone. And like should we have more events like that? It also just kind of makes it like a little exclusive. It just depends on what your goals are. Yeah. Like if you want to keep tennis exclusive 1,000% and then charge way more for the tickets. Yeah, charge a lot for the tickets. Like make it kind of like discrete.
Starting point is 01:10:32 And that makes people want to go more. But what makes college football so interesting is the clips and the characters. Like it becomes its own reality TV show. Yeah. Everyone hates Lane Kiffin right now. Yeah. And it's like, I'm going to watch the LSU game. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:49 Because he is the villain. Yeah. UFC is built on this model. Tennis players, I couldn't name four to you. I couldn't name them. I don't even know. Serena Williams. You know Tommy Paul.
Starting point is 01:11:02 Ben, yeah, Tommy Paul. But that's influencer. Yeah, because of an influencer. Like, so I would assume the tennis players wouldn't have even been mad about the interruption. Maybe competitively. Maybe competitively. It's better for their brand.
Starting point is 01:11:20 Like what blew up F1, who watched F1 in the U.S.? What blew it up was like, was the show and the drama of the characters. Okay, keep the phones in. Keep the phones in. That's what Danny said. Okay. Well, we love you guys. Jordan's got to head off to New Jersey.
Starting point is 01:11:36 And we'll talk to you later. Bye. Please note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. Individuals on the show may have a direct or indirect financial interest in products or services referred to in this episode.
