Starting point is 00:00:09 And welcome back to your favorite podcast, D-influenced. Hi, babe. We're back. We're back home. We're together. We both had some pretty, like, hectic weekends. I know. Yours more so than mine.
Starting point is 00:00:22 But, you know, I had the time of my life. Yeah. Well, I want to hear about it. Just to recap, Jordan went to Myrtle Beach with our children. Why are you laughing? I just, like, because of the way you have explained the entire trip, it's funny now. I went to Aspen with the gals, which is a trip that we planned because all the boys went to New York like months ago. And so the girls were like, okay, well, we need to go somewhere.
Starting point is 00:00:47 And we had never, or I had never been to Aspen. So I was like advocating for that. And we made it happen. So we both got back last night. Like you got back Saturday night. Yeah, Saturday night. I got back last night. I think I slept 10 hours last night.
Starting point is 00:01:00 I think you were. Yeah, you were a sleepy girl. Yeah. Six o'clock is when you fell asleep. No, no. seven o'clock. Six o'clock. No, babe, we put the kids, you put the kids to bed.
Starting point is 00:01:10 That's right. Seven o'clock. Yeah, seven o'clock. And then, yeah, I slept till like six. So that's, that's 11 hours. Yeah, I was shocked. I thought you were going to wake up maybe like three and snuggle me a little bit. No.
Starting point is 00:01:22 You were out. No. I would go at six and I like still wanted to go back to bed. But yeah, I want to hear, we'll go off about our trips. But I want to hear about yours because you had a pretty crazy experience. Yeah. So I would say that generally speaking people in your DMs were like, why are you going to Myrtle Beach? Is that fair? Hey, don't offend the Myrtle Beachers.
Starting point is 00:01:43 No, no, no. I don't, I think it's a... I've never been to Myrtle Beach. I have no thing that I don't know anything about it. It's nice. It's great for families. But I think generally speaking people were like, why are you going to Myrtle Beach? Right. Well, why were you going to Marble Beach? So last August, I bought tickets to the Myrtle Beach Animal Safari. I hope they treat the animals, right? You're going to get some hate on that. Well, so it was in Tiger King, okay, and that's where I found out about it.
Starting point is 00:02:10 But listen. Not looking up. Of all of the zoos featured in Tiger King, I think that it was the most prestigious private zoo that there was. So here's kind of the controversy in the zoo community. Because when I went to the San Diego Zoo. I did your research because I definitely did it. Well, no. So when I went to the San Diego Zoo with Stella, I asked him a lot of,
Starting point is 00:02:32 of questions. And, you know, there's basically like a zoo accreditation system. Yeah. That the government decides this is an accredited zoo. Okay. And so all the accredited zoo, like the Fort Worth Zoo and the San Diego Zoo, they're all like, oh. Is it a Dallas Zoo? Yeah, it's probably accredited. Okay. Any like state-run zoo or government is like probably accredited. Okay. So like if I open a zoo in my backyard, though, it's a private zoo. It's a private zoo. So the controversy, I haven't seen this documentary in a while, but the controversy in Tiger King was that these are unaccredited private zoos. And they basically are all about the photo ops. They like the owners of the zoo make a ton of money and they make money by letting you like pet baby tigers or like take pictures of chimpanzees. So like these private zoos that were featured, you get like way closer. But how are they actually shooting the animal? Right. So the controversy with the Oklahoma, which. which was Joe, the Tiger King, was that he just like, if you watch the documentary,
Starting point is 00:03:34 he's not a business owner. Like, he's just all over the place. He's an animal lover. He's an animal lover. But, like, he was not set up to take care of these animals. Like, his facilities were disgusting. He wasn't feeding the animals, etc. So the Myrtle Beach Animal Safari is run by this guy named Doc Antle.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Okay. And in the documentary, if you remember. You know, I only watched like the first episode and I wasn't, I was like on my phone the whole time. It's okay. Let me tell you about it. So Doc, what I remember about him in the documentary was he had like seven girlfriends and they all kind of like were on this property. So there's probably some weird vibes there. You know, just like a little bit.
Starting point is 00:04:12 Yeah, yeah. He might be a weird guy. But if you go to Instagram and you search his son, Cody Antle and you search Myrtle Beach Animal Safari. You show me videos of him. He's a Tarzan Man. Tarzan Man. So his son was basically like born on this safari and was like raised amongst these animals. Like he just is in leopard shorts all day, no shoes. Was he there? Yeah, I saw both of them. And so here's what I will say about Myrtle Beach before all the animal lovers go after me is they,
Starting point is 00:04:39 Myrtle Beach and Doc Antle, they advise on most, all of the Hollywood productions that relate to animals. So like Ace Ventura, they were like the consultants on. Jay Leno, they've been on multiple times. You know, they had the number one best performing Animal Planet show. Bud life? Huh? Bud? Bud?
Starting point is 00:05:00 Is it Bud Life? Is it with the Golden Retrievers? Oh, no, no. It was like crocodiles and stuff. Okay, but I know. What's the, what's the golden retriever? Bud. Buddy, Airbud?
Starting point is 00:05:10 Airbus. Bud Life. Well, so, yeah, probably not. But those are dogs. Yeah, but those are like dogs. They're like lions and ligers and chimpanzees. Okay, but they should probably, they could do it for any animal show. Yeah, like they had, uh, they had, uh,
Starting point is 00:05:27 Airbud. You were like, bud? Bud. Bud. Buddy the elf? So they're legitimate in the sense that like they take care of their animals, like they're well fed, etc. So I go to the zoo and I've been wanting to go.
Starting point is 00:05:42 I booked a trip last August and I was going to take Stella. Wait, how do you know they take care of their animals? When you walk in, it is a legitimate facility. Like it is well run. They have plenty of staff. Like their animals like. So what's the, what's the harm in getting a? accredited? I think it has a lot to do. It's probably a complicated process and it probably has a lot to do with
Starting point is 00:06:04 like how how yeah, like I'm this like I'm a zooologist or something. Well, let me tell you, Danny. I think if I had to guess, it probably has a lot. It's like having a private school versus public school. You get to do what you want when you're private. Yes. And I think that like there are probably general safety guidelines as it pertains to like how close you can get to the animals that like an accredited zoo would not allow that I think that this is really happy you took great children there. So. That's what happens when moms away.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Yeah. So basically last August. I put on the hot seat. You're a little uncomfortable. Honestly, I don't really care because I'm about to like. You should care. I'm going to speak against this. I'm going to speak against the zoo if you'll let me get there.
Starting point is 00:06:53 So like in August of last year, the hurricane hit. And so I got a rain check. And so it's August now. And so these tickets were going to expire. And you were going to Aspen. So I was like, I'm going to take the kits. So I've always wanted to go. We go. The trip kind of ends up being a disaster. So there's like no nonstop flights to Myrtle Beach. So we have a connecting flight. And of course, that gets delayed. So then we missed our connecting flight. So then I fly into Wilmington, North Carolina after six hours. hours with two kids, two toddlers at the airport. And, um, get to, they woke up at like 4 a.m. Yeah. So get to Wilmington and had booked an Avis reservation. There's no cars. They're like, oh, yeah, sorry. We just don't have cars. You'll have to call and cancel it. It happens to us all the time. It happens to us all the time. So I find one car through some random company. And then I drive an hour and a half, get into Myrtle Beach at seven. So a four hour travel time was turned into like nine. So that sucked. And then they lost, our luggage with two babies. So then I go to Target. How did you get to Target? I found a car.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Oh, you found one car. Like literally one car. So, because I was like, where am I? What is Wilmington, North Carolina? Everyone in my DMs was like, he should just stay in Wilmington. No, I know. I know. So anyway, so find a car, drove to Target, spend like $300 at Target on like getting Stella nightgowns. And, you know, these kids are hopped up on candy. So we walked in Target and they're just like, oh my gosh, daddy, look at this. Look at this. It's just like absolute chaos. So we finally get to the hotel. Our bags were lost. And then they didn't get delivered till the next day. So it was already a pretty like tough trip. The kids were like tired the entire time. So we go to Myrtle Beach. That was the only reason we went is to go to this safari. And I will say on the
Starting point is 00:08:39 front end, the kids made it through an hour and a half of a five hour tour. So we didn't see really most of the zoo. We saw a bobcat. We saw, we left right before they were. going to bring the wolves out. We saw a cheetah. We met a Liger, which was 900 pounds. That's cool. Yeah, I didn't let them take pictures of the Liger. Thank you. I was like, this is too much. Too much. So anyway. People took pictures with the Liger. Yeah. Yeah. I was like not not good with it. So here's my hot take on Myrtle Beach Animal Safari slash potentially all private zoos is what I liked about it is that they, it was private. It was private. So that was cool.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Like we got to be in a smaller group and they did try and like educate us a little bit. But what I would criticize about this zoo in particular is that it very clearly was all about the photo ops. And I'm sure they got feedback that that's all people wanted anyway. So they probably tailored their tour to the photo ops. But they didn't really teach us anything about the animals. Like it was just like, okay, here's a cheetah. Get your picture. Okay, let's move on to the next.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Now we're going to bring out some bobcats. I'm here to learn. Hold this bobcat. Okay, cool. Like, you know, baby lines. They actually didn't let us touch the baby lions. Like, there was like a screen and you kind of like took this manipulated picture against the glass screen. So it looked like you were close to a baby lion.
Starting point is 00:10:05 You know, and again, I didn't make it to the monkeys. Like that's really why I was there. Like, if you go to their Instagram, their very first pin post is like this like girl giving a hug to a monkey. This like, I've heard some crazy monkey stories. Yeah. Yeah, so here's, okay, so. We had some monkeys attack us in Gibraltar, so. Yeah, criticism number one is that I feel like they structured the tour around like Instagram
Starting point is 00:10:31 moments and I was kind of bummed by that, but I'm sure most people like that. Number two is I just feel like it is very unnatural to be that close to animals. Like, I actually think there's, there's not something criminal about it, but like whatever the degree below criminal is, I just am like, I'm not supposed to be this close. to you. Yeah. It felt very unethical. No. See, that's, Tiger King tried to make it an ethics thing. I don't think it's an ethics thing.
Starting point is 00:11:00 But I kind of do because the animals should not feel scared. Like there's like humans around them 24-7. No, the animals were, this is the craziest thing. Is that like... They loved it. They're like so used to it. They're born into it. Yeah, they're like dogs. They're like dogs and cats. They're like playing. They're like rolling
Starting point is 00:11:16 around. Like they're... Yeah, so happy. I mean, I didn't meet the wolf. So maybe the wolf was like, I hate being here. We'll never know. But like they, I really do believe that they are well taking care of on this like animal sanctuary animals farm because it's like 50 acres. But yeah, it just, I don't think I would go back slash advise people to go. Yeah. I don't.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Yeah. That's my take. Do you think that there were some pretty crazy stories of like these animals attacking humans that because they're private, they don't have to share? at the safari. No, no, I really do think that of all of the zoos featured on Tiger King, like I really do feel like they're the most professional and most accredited when it comes to like their expertise with animals. I also do believe them when they say this, but they were very clear that like X percent of the proceeds go to animal conservation. Like they had this thing where like my ticket sales funded the prevention of poachers.
Starting point is 00:12:20 in some place in Africa, forgot where. The heart was there. And they like reduce the poaching in that area of like endangered species by like 90%. So I believe all of that stuff. It's just I just don't, I don't want to be that close ever again. So was it, it wasn't that it was unethical. It was like unsafe felt wrong because it was unsafe. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:12:47 I think you just had to be there. It's just like there's something I'm like, huh. I mean, San Diego, the San Diego has like the San Diego Zoo and then they have the San Diego Safari, which is like 40 miles away from the zoo. Didn't we do that? No, you weren't with me. But didn't we do some type of safari where we drove her around? No, that was just, we got a door at the zoo. So at the San Diego's safari, they let you get closer.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Like, they let us kind of like see a kangaroo like as close as this. But it wasn't like a Liger, you know. So I don't know. I don't recommend either Myrtle Beach to people and or the Myrtle Beach Animal Safari. And that is my final take. But the Merle Beach people were phenomenal, I'm sure. The people. The staff?
Starting point is 00:13:36 No, like the people of Myrtle Beach. Honestly, I mean, I don't want to like discriminate against a whole population here, but people seemed really angry. Really? Yes. They seemed very angry and entitled. And they were like mean to like all the wait staff. And on the way home from Myrtle Beach, there was this lady sitting next to Stella and I on,
Starting point is 00:14:00 and Stratton on the plane. And she, I think she was drunk, but she literally, this is the craziest story. I didn't even tell you this. She's sitting there. And like every five minutes she'd be,
Starting point is 00:14:12 she would go, are you effing kidding me? But like would say it out loud. And it was like one of those things where, about our children or like whatever she was reading. No, just every, like she would just say it out loud. Like if they would get on the intercom, she'd be like, shut the up. Oh my God. And it was like this like 75 year old woman. And some guy walked in with like an American flag shirt. It was probably like a like a conservative, you know, American flag shirt. And he walked on. She goes, what's on your shirt? And he goes, she goes, what is your shirt mean? And he goes, I'll let you think about that. And she goes, oh my effing. Like she was just. I thought I was going to end. And he goes. I thought I was going to. And. And. I thought I was going to. And. And. I thought I was going to. And. And. I thought. And. And. And. I thought I was. And. And. I was. And. I. I. And. I. And. I. I. I. I up in a Twitter scene. I was running it in my head. I was like, okay, I want to look really good in this Twitter clip. So if she stands up and makes a scene, I'm going to bear hug her and I'm
Starting point is 00:15:02 going to be the hero. And then I'll wrap the seatbelt around her and secure her. And then like, I'll say like, don't go follow me. Go follow Danny Austin. Like I like had the Twitter moment that you always see on that in my mind. But yeah, it's a weird trip. Not going to lie. It's a pretty weird time. So it's probably a good thing I did. didn't go. No, no, you would have hated. Like, I thought about that multiple times. I was like, if Danny was here, I would say that it would have been the worst 48 hours for your life. I guess my question is like, why did you think that the kids were old enough for this? Number one. Number two is what was there a direct flight? It just got canceled.
Starting point is 00:15:42 The, there was a direct flight. But what's hilarious is that the direct flight out of Dallas was at like 145 and it would have gotten us in at like five and I was like, ah, nap time. So you took the one. Like I would never, ever, I knew I was going to get this ever take two children, two and three years old on a flight somewhere, like take them across the country when there wasn't even a direct flight. Like it was just, it would never even crossed my mind. I would be like, that would be a horrible idea. We need to wait until they're older. I also like, I feel like there's so many amazing places you could have taken them in Texas. There's like a drive-up safari in Texas that you can do. Is it accredited? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:22 But like, there's a lot. You could take him to the Fort Worth Zoo. It's 45 minutes away. This seemed like a little extreme. I know. So it was hard for me to feel bad for you because I was like, he did this to absolve. But honestly, let me say this. Let me say this.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Nothing went to plan, but my expectations were low. And I think that that's the key to having toddlers is like, yes, we didn't make it through the safari. Stratton was like basically sitting on my face like at the end of the zoo tour and was like, get me home. Like we literally go, sell are you having fun? and she goes, I want to go home. I was like, okay, we're out of here.
Starting point is 00:16:54 So they literally had to, like, escort us out of the place. But it was the most fun that I probably ever had with our kids because, like, they don't care. Like, they don't care that people are being mean to wait staff. Like, they are just like so. Yeah, they're like, this is the best. They're like, it's this the best. And it was so fun to see them, like, excited.
Starting point is 00:17:13 And they are now old enough to play together. And so it was like a little adventure for just them to. They're like the best part was going to target. Honestly, probably. Like if you asked Stella, what was her favorite part? She was like, probably like, I got a new snow white sleep gown at Target. And I'm like, okay. Could have done that at home, but whatever. So yeah, I think that the lesson that I learned is like it's probably not all going to go according to plan, but sometimes like the hiccups were the most fun. So that's really sweet. And you probably learned that we also make a really good team. Yes. Like, you know. Yes. I don't like, I think I said this to you like whenever you got back. I don't really like. I don't really like. going places not together. Yeah. I just don't. But I knew I had to choose somewhere. Your your point to me was, why didn't you go somewhere closer? Yeah, because I would have been mad at you. Yes, you would have been mad at me. And so like I always try. You went somewhere that you knew I wouldn't want to go. Would never want to go to. Like Danny, no chance in heck that Danny's ever
Starting point is 00:18:09 hopping on a plane and going to Myrtle Beach. Like no way. At least he's right about it. So I was like, I'm just going to knock it out. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I would go to Myrtle Beach one day. have nothing against mortal beach i i would just be very against the the connecting flights i would have gone direct i will never go back to myrtle beach okay i told stella and stratt and i said i guys i said did you have fun they were like yeah this is so much fun i said good because we're never coming back we're never going back there you could have also done cinnamon shore but that's somewhere i want to go to yeah exactly you'd have been like oh yeah well i'm sorry but i'm so happy that you had such a great time yeah how how is your trip my trip was
Starting point is 00:18:49 great. Meanwhile, I'm an Aspen with the girls, which I had never really been to Aspen before. I had been to, we've gone to veil my whole life, but Aspen's about like an hour and a half, maybe two hours away with traffic. And man, it is a boozy little town. Let me tell you. Like it is, it's really hard to get to. It's very extensive to get to. You can only take certain planes there because you have to land in between like a valley, like two mountains. And, um, and like when you land, it's just like all these private jets, like all these private plants. I've never been somewhere where I was just like, this is out of a movie, you know? And, um, so I went with four my girlfriends. We all have babies slash them with and have like,
Starting point is 00:19:35 you know, three months, six month olds. So this was actually Sarah Rose's first trip away from Kaden. So it was like very emotional for a lot of us to actually get. there. But I think once we got there, like saw each other. It was so much fun and like a lot easier. But I do feel like none of us were able to like completely let go. Like the whole time we're like, I'm like, oh, still in Straten are like in Myrtle Beach on a beach safari. Like I'm picturing this like beautiful thing that y'all are doing together. And I'm like, oh, I miss them. And then, you know, Sarah Rose is really worried about Caden. Obviously she, you know, Caden's been having issues with his feeding and reflux and all these things and sleeping.
Starting point is 00:20:15 So like every single night, like we're, everybody's just watching the monitors. I don't have to watch my monitors because my kids are like older. Well, they're with me. And they're with you. But like, Janelle's watching the monitor. And like the alarm, like her house alarm went off one night. She stayed up for like four hours, like worried that somebody was going to snatch her baby. Like, you know, like just things like that, like the moms could not relax.
Starting point is 00:20:38 The moms were still moming. you know, but so it's just so funny how different like girls trips are these days, which I was always the one out of the group that had kids, but because that was the only one, everyone was like always catered to me, you know, because they're like, oh, Danny, like, is everything okay? It was still instructing. And, you know, like, but now we all have our own babies and our own, like, issues that come with that and our own responsibilities.
Starting point is 00:21:05 And so we're all just kind of like trying to be sensitive to each other's lives because everybody's life is so different, but also, like, we're all trying to have fun at the same time. And we had so much fun. We really did. Like, like I said, we did hiking. Aspen, the weather was beautiful. They have, like, the most beautiful shopping and the food. Like, I don't think I've ever been somewhere, like, with that many good restaurants.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Like, you can't go to a bad restaurant. Do you see anyone famous? So, funny enough, Nikki and Kathy Hilton were staying at our hotel for an Oscar DeLorenta pop up. And Kathy Hilton started following. following me on Instagram. She started following me and Ali. And she was staying like they had an event there and I have no idea why she followed us. But like, yes. Gen Z producers shook right now. Who is Kathy Hilton? Just the Hilton? Yeah, Pairns Hilton's mom. Oh. Yeah, which I've seen her like around Dallas before. She's a very like active in Dallas society. She lives in Dallas? No,
Starting point is 00:22:03 she's just very active here. Like I don't know where she spends most of her time year round, but But she was at the, when we did the Children's Cancer Fund fashion show. Remember, she was one of the celebrities that walked behind me, her in Nikki. And she's like really active with Alice and Olivia's events in Dallas. And so she's always in Dallas doing something fabulous, you know. So yeah, it was like so fun. And we got dressed up every night. We did a lot of linking, shared a lot of our outfits, which like I feel like I've gotten
Starting point is 00:22:35 really bad at that whenever I travel. Like I'm just like whatever goes. Like I'm just like very chill. And it's like I was reminded like Danny gets your act together. Share your links. Share your outfits. Because the girls were growing. And so, um, but no, like we had a lot of fun. And it's nice to just be around moms and be like, wow, I'm not crazy. We're all crazy together. Yeah. Yeah. You know, like, uh, we all have the same issues. We all have like the same like conversations with our husbands. like we all have the same insecurities as working moms. And so it was really sweet. It's definitely a place that we should go back to and take our kids.
Starting point is 00:23:16 I did look at Redfin to see if we could buy a house there and the cheapest house was $15 million. So I scratched that out of my goals in life. Maybe one day. Maybe one day. But it was the cheapest. Like you know when you filter to like the cheapest to most expensive, like the cheapest house. Maybe that's because like no one sells there.
Starting point is 00:23:35 Like no one's selling their place. True. I should have looked at like the history of sold properties. Yeah. But like when you look in Dallas, you can find everything for, you know, 200,000 to 20 million. And like there was no like it was like 15 million to 50 million. That's so crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:51 It's a very expensive place. And I think it's expensive because first of all, everybody, all my friends were like, why is it so expensive? I was like, because how do they get resources here? How do they get anything here? There's not a highway that runs here. Like even the plane, they can't take this. big planes, like you can't bring your carry on. You have to bring like little small things and they put everything underneath the plane. Like it's kind of just like in the middle of, not middle of nowhere,
Starting point is 00:24:13 because it's obviously gorgeous, but it's like they built this little utopia. Yeah. Tell them about the guy that you met on the plane. Oh yeah. You texted me about him. Yeah, I never texted him back, but I should. I mean, it was one of those. See, here's my thing about my social battery. Yeah. When I go somewhere like on a trip, like I'm, My battery is 110%. Like I am so full of energy and like I'm ready to go. And then by the second day, like, I'm 50%. And by the third day, I'm 25%.
Starting point is 00:24:46 And by the last day, I'm like, I'm on zero, but I'm still like trying to get up to 5%. So when I got on the airplane, I was like 110%. I was like, I never get on an airplane and like just talk to the guy next to me the whole time. I mean, sometimes I do. It just depends on how interesting. We literally chatted the entire like two and a half hours, did not stop.
Starting point is 00:25:05 And this is like a man that you would think I have nothing in common with. We got to know each other. He lives in Miami. He actually runs the family office for this guy that's worth like $500 million. He runs, I don't know how much this guy's worth, but he manages $500 million for this family. Classic guy you'd meet on a trip to Aspen. Yeah. And so, well, he was going to Aspen to take like check on the.
Starting point is 00:25:35 family's home that they have there. And I was like, wow, what a fun job. So he was like, yeah, I'm going to be here for like a week taking care of the property. Like I'm going hiking. I'm going like, I'm like, oh, that's so fun. And so this person, this guy who like, he just passed away. So now all of the inheritance goes to this guy's son, who's like 25. Yikes. I'm just making these numbers up, like around that age. And we just talked. a lot about what, basically, because he manages a lot of wealth for a lot of wealthy people and what a lot of wealthy people do wrong in parenting. And he didn't have kids, but he's around so many, like, spoiled bratty kids that he was, like, really interesting and gave me a lot
Starting point is 00:26:25 of tips. And, like, not saying that I was going to raise bloody kids because we're like, we're worth 500 million. No. Just like parenting tips in general that, like, it doesn't matter how much you make, but it would be, like, helpful to not raise spoiled bratty kids. I think you should share this because I don't think it's like about, like, I think that the broad situation that we're in when people generalize, like, Gen Z is like this idea of like entitlement, which I'm not saying, producer, Gen Z. I'm not saying it's true. I'm just saying this is like what people are saying is like, like proactive go getter, not entitled kids. So it kind of applies to everyone whether you're, but I think it is particularly
Starting point is 00:27:05 really hard for like wealthy kids because they don't have to do anything. They don't have to do anything. And yeah, it's hard because they're just like built into this lifestyle where like he was telling me like these kids are raised flying private planes like basically getting anything and everything that they ever want going to like the most prestigious schools and the most like incredible programs. And because of who their parents are, they just get everything that they want because everyone around them is just catering to them all the time. And then they're just really stunted in life because they never. had to what his word was suffer. Like these kids have never suffered before. And so it's really like challenging for them. So his biggest thing was two things, which I thought was interesting because
Starting point is 00:27:46 one of them kind of played into what we learned last week. But like making sure that your kids do not, they're not like raised in an always comfortable environment. Like your kids should be uncomfortable sometimes. Like they should have to work for things. There should be like they shouldn't just live a very cushiony lifestyle. And I think a lot of people, it's hard for a lot of people because you want to give your kids everything that you didn't have. So you're like, like for me, I went to a public school and I'm like, oh, wow, I could give my kids private school, you know? And it's like, really, though, is that the best decision? Or am I just doing that because I feel like that was something I didn't have?
Starting point is 00:28:22 Like, is that really the best for your kid? Or, you know, like, my parents never took me to Europe when I was growing up. Like, I want to take Stella and struton to Europe. Okay, like, what, like is that a smart decision right now? And so I think it's, it's just something to think about. And then his other second tip was, well, before you move on from that, you said that like, tell me about or tell them about the transition he, you said that he sees a lot where it's like parents catch a break. So what he said happened a lot was dad catches a break in his business, whatever his business is.
Starting point is 00:28:56 And these businesses he's told me about, they're like so untexty and boring. Yeah, they always are. They're nothing like, you guys like wouldn't know who these people are. Like they're just, there's crazy situations where they just, in a lot of times it's actually not from their businesses that they made all their money. It's from their investments in the long run. So it's like just really not, it's just not that interesting. But they kind of make it later in life. Like while their kids are like growing up, then the wife all the sudden is like, wow, what do I do with all this wealth?
Starting point is 00:29:28 And she goes off and tries to manage the homes and manage all of like, because you know, more money and more problems. So there's her time. Charity. Yeah, charity. Her time is spent networking or taking care of whatever it is. And then no one is left to take it, like raise the children. And so, and that happens like a lot. So then you think that you can just send them off to school or you can send them to or hire a nanny or you can do whatever and like just have money basically raise your children.
Starting point is 00:29:57 But like you can't. And so. You probably don't find that out that you can't do that until it's late. Yeah. And his biggest thing was it's so hard to break a habit. It's so much easier to build a habit. So he was like, as soon as you get your child into those bad habits, like, you're kind of screwed. And he's like, just be proactive about the habits, like whether how big or small they are.
Starting point is 00:30:22 And so then, yeah, his second tip was, which I thought was so interesting because this kind of played into the advice that the other guy told us, was to build incentive structures with the people. that help raise your children. So like, let's just say it's a nanny. And I've been telling you lately, like, I really want Stella and Stratton to start saying like, yes, ma'am, no, sir. And then also saying like, Miss Brenda or Miss Ellie, you know, using the word miss or mister before an adult's name. Were you raised like that? Yeah. Like we had to do push-ups if we didn't say miss. Like, I never called one of my mom's friends by their first name. Like, that was. extremely, extremely rude, like, would never. And then my brother, like, they were harder on my brother about yes, ma'am, no, sir.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Like, really strict with Landon because it was like super, super rude. But for me, they were a little bit more lenient. But yeah, I always, we always said yes, ma'am, no sir to, like, our parents' friends and stuff. I don't think I said it to, like, all my teachers, though. But, like, Landon would get in trouble if he didn't. Anyway, and so I've been telling you that I want to do that. And that's more so not because I'm like, oh, it's just like I want to teach my kids that like you have to respect your elders. And like you're not as powerful as an adult.
Starting point is 00:31:47 Like, and you don't speak to adults the way that you speak to your friends. Like there's like a hierarchy and it's just like respect. Like it's not that I want them to be. You know what I mean? And it's just like respecting other people. Why are you laughing? I was just wondering like when we start implementing this like we'll strat and say, see signor.
Starting point is 00:32:03 Hey, that works. No, sign of respect. I don't care what it is. He only speaks Spanish. Yeah, I know. But this is something that unless everyone in my circles, including like my friends or my, you know, my parents, Brenda, our nanny, you, unless we're all on the same page, it's not going to happen. Because it's going to have to be a habit that they build. And like as soon as like he was saying, as soon as like the habit gets away from you, it.
Starting point is 00:32:31 it's going to be really hard to break it with our kids. If they start saying, yeah, and, like, say, give me this or give me that instead of using their manners. Like, manners is, like, a big thing for me. And so he was like, yeah, I would build incentive structures with, like, your, let's just say, your nanny. So, like, say you want to learn, you want your kids to start saying yes, damn, no, sir. Like, in six weeks, if your kids are saying yes, damn, no, sir, then you get your nanny a massage or something. Like something to like get her excited that like we're all on the same page and we're doing this all together because the world is run by incentive structures. Yeah. Or like yeah. Same with like grandma, grandma. It's like hey guys, like we're all working on trying to get Stratton and Stella to say this. Like if this happens.
Starting point is 00:33:17 We'll take us all to dinner. Yeah. Yeah. Let's all go to dinner or something like that. Yeah. Or like well, you know, just like little things like that. It's harder whenever it's family. But and just like being partners with your teachers that raise your kids. So like. telling your teachers at school what your goals are for your children to it in development. Like, you know, like whether it's, I can just bring up something stupid, but like eating vegetables at lunch, you know, and like your teacher knowing and her being on the same page. And I'm just communicating like with everyone around like your ecosystem, like the things that you're working on with your kids so that they can also help too. Because it's like your kids become like who they hang out with. So he talks a lot about like good suffering. What I feel like I don't know how to say this and I don't mean it how it sounds, but I feel like you're going to be really good at helping our kids suffer.
Starting point is 00:34:11 I don't know. You know what I mean, right? Yeah, yeah. I think that you are the parent that if like Stella signs up for softball, she doesn't quit softball. Oh, hell no. Because it's like that's how you were raised. Yeah. And I was, I don't feel like I was raised very cushiony. Like we had a lot, but like I feel like my parents really pushed. No. And I also think that part of your DNA is like if you're not suffering, like you don't feel good.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Worthy. Worthy. Yeah. It's like, you know, things are too peaceful. I think you want a little bit more like harder things to do in your life. So what plans do you have to help our kids suffer? Um, good question. So I mean, like a big thing for me is I think that I will make sure that my kids play one sport and one instrument. Right. And like they don't have to be good at it, but like they have to play one of each. Um, that's what my parents made me do. I played like seven sports and three instruments. I was never really good at anything. But I feel like it taught me like how to suffer and how like when I work on something or I practice something or I sign up for something or I commit like how to pull. It works. how to finish and how to do it. Or like when I do practice, like I actually do get better. Like those things correlate. And like going through pain actually makes you stronger. You know, you don't just become stronger because you're good at something. Like you have to work and put it in the sweat and the hours.
Starting point is 00:35:39 And so I feel like that is like a small thing. And then I don't know. I just have been thinking about like things that I privileges that I don't want to give my kids off the bat. want them to like work for. So like the first time I ever flew first class was when I was like probably um like I don't know I was probably 17 and it was something I always like wanted to do. But I just thought about this like my parents would go fly first class and put us in the back. And so I was always like, whoa like one day I want to do that. And I'm not saying that I would do that with my kids when they're two and three years old. But when they're like old enough to sit by
Starting point is 00:36:20 themselves. Yeah, like, yeah, for sure. Yeah, I kind of agree. Mommy and daddy are going to sit first class to Europe. You guys are going to go sit in the back and like not be able to sleep. And like now that's something that you guys can work for. Or, you know, maybe, hey, Danny or Stella, if you get, if you get in the top 10% of high school, like, we'll take a trip to Europe and all, we can fly for his class.
Starting point is 00:36:43 I don't know. That's pretty boogey. But like, like, just having things like that that they can get excited for and work toward. instead of just giving it to them from when they're young, like thinking that that's normal, which, by the way, like, we don't. The only time I ever flew my kids' first class
Starting point is 00:36:58 is when literally there were only three seats available in first class when we flew to Cabo. And like that was out of the norm. I would never do that. Well, they're also so young that they don't really comprehend. Yeah, but I disagree. Like, I think it's not even about the fact that they comprehend. It's like a habit that becomes really hard to break
Starting point is 00:37:18 because then it's like convenient for everyone. And like, it's like, that's what he keeps saying. He had like, like, prefacing. He was like, you just becomes this thing that you can't break. Yeah. Unless you start like really young. And that's why I already regret, to be honest, not teaching my kids. Like, yes, ma'am, no, sir.
Starting point is 00:37:35 Like, I feel like I'm almost like, am I too late? Like, is the habit already there, you know? Yeah. And so just being aware of those things like in getting to the root of it now. Do you think that, I think one of the things that last week when we talked about going to Midland and being with that 12.2 billionaire and just the simple life that they live, do you think that, I think that what your guy on your flight probably was explaining is that like as people acquire more wealth, their lifestyle increases and it becomes increasingly more
Starting point is 00:38:09 complex. You have multiple houses. You can do this thing. You can kind of go wherever you want. And so the logistics and the convenience of needing those logistics increase exponentially. do you think that there's like anything that we can or should simplify in our lives to make it to where our kids are not privileged growing up? Does that make sense? Yeah, I don't, I think we're pretty normal. But what I think that like, okay, like, for example, here's what I'm trying to say is like if we were to sell Dippy, for example, okay, one day, like we could live a totally different lifestyle than the current kind of normal you know, lifestyle that we're living now, it almost is like better just to keep your life super simple
Starting point is 00:38:56 and your lifestyle super simple to not raise privileged kids, right? Yeah, I mean, not only that, I wouldn't like even just look at it that way. I think something that was also interesting about what he said with all these wealthy people. He said they're the unhappiest people ever. Like he would ask them, like he asked, I think the wife of the, um, guy that passed away. He passed away like a couple years ago. But like, like, from scale of one to 10, like how like happy are you? And she was like a two. Like I'm miserable. Why? Why? Like why? I wonder what he thinks the correlation is. I really do think like, like you said, I think so much more
Starting point is 00:39:38 responsibility comes on when you're buying multiple homes or you're trying to keep up with the Joneses. And like you just lose sight of the things that actually bring you joy because you think that a second home or a trip to Europe or like a Louis Vuitton bag like that will that will actually make you happy and then it's like no actually like the time that you spent like on the sofa you know when you had nothing with your kids was actually what made you happy but you lose side of that and you're so far gone you don't even know how to get back to that because you have all these like responsibilities and all these things just stacked on your shoulders now and like your life like you don't even like I said like I said.
Starting point is 00:40:19 it's like this habit that you build and you can't break. Yeah. And so I read a lot of like, I tell you about this all the time, but I read a lot of Reddit forums. Yeah, like sociological standpoint. Like I'm like, oh, tell me like what you guys talk about and what you're posting about and what you struggle with. And the two most interesting things that I would pull out of the community is number one,
Starting point is 00:40:42 there's like a square footage of your house that like it becomes diminishing returns. and a lot of these rich people, this is hilarious, but a lot of these rich people are like, our house is so big that I can never find any of the things I lose. And also they're like, we can't, like, our kids will not come when we call because it's like they're on the other side of the house. And this is like, you know, you think of like the McMansions and Dallas. Like there's a size of house where it's like people have actually in this community downsized after they experience that big house because they're like, it just doesn't make any sense. We spend most of our time in these three rooms. Yeah. The second thing that I
Starting point is 00:41:18 feel like is a kind of known sort of fact within this community is like more houses is always a bad idea. Like there are, there's so many people who are like do not get a vacation home, just rent, go to a hotel, like all the headaches you experience with your primary home. Like it's double. Times that by 10 because then you have to fly, you know, the other. We stayed in seaside once. I don't know why I'm remembering this. We stayed in seaside once in one of those like houses. And It was like during that storm. And I don't know if you remember this, but the guy who owned that house that we were running from, he had to fly all the way from Houston just to check on his home. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:59 And it's like at that point, like, are you actually rich? Like, because you literally have lost your freedom to all these assets that you think are going to make you happy. And I think that that's what your guy on the plane is echoing too. Yeah. Is that it's just like you're literally acquiring these things that just take away your freedom. they don't give you your freedom. That's the thing that I've always told you and I've always told myself is like if you cannot find how to be joyful like in this exact moment, like right now in the next
Starting point is 00:42:27 five minutes, like you'll never be able to find it because there's nothing that is probably missing in your life like right now that you're finally going to get one day, whether it's a job or a house or whatever that's going to like actually make you happier. Like everything that you probably need to make you joyful, which is like your family and the people around you and whatever, like, that's probably already, you probably already have it. Right. And so, yeah, I think it just becomes this like chase, but by the time you get there, it's like you're too, too, too late. Yeah. I mean, anyone, like my mentee, he is like, I mean, he's young. He's like 17. So he's like, he's like all about like, like, I want to be like a billionaire.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Yeah. And I feel like I'm so practical now that I'm like, no, you don't. And I like, I have to catch myself sometimes. I'm like, you don't want that. Like go go make this much, but like don't go after a billion because like your headaches are going to be so big. Like there's just there's a diminishing return in terms of like making money that once you get to a certain point, it's not it's not worth it anymore because the headaches are so complicated just to even manage it. Yeah. It made me it was it was eye opening. It was sad. And then we went to Aspen. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:50 So that was really crazy. That's like such an ironic story, actually. Yeah. It's kind of ironic. I know. Wow. But not everybody's like that. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:44:02 Like you can figure out how to balance it and you can figure it out. It's just like when you get lost. Yeah. It's just easier to get lost. Isn't that like in the Bible? It's like like fame, money, wealth, everything. It's like... Ecclesiastes.
Starting point is 00:44:16 What's the scripture? Well, the whole book of Ecclesiastes is basically like it's all meaningless. It's all meaningless. Like it'll only... The gist of Ecclesiastes, I feel like is like, he kind of basically like goes through all these things. He's like, I participated in folly and I participated in this. And basically his gist is like, like to love your work is a gift from God. To basically eat, drink and be happy and be merry amongst friends is like the gist of it.
Starting point is 00:44:42 Yeah. Before we move on to what I really want to talk about, which is Blake lively updates and Love Island. Starting point is 00:47:15 Quick little update on her. I mean, I know last time we'd talked, there was so much drama going on with the cast of it ends with us. And it was just such so disappointing to see because there was so much hype behind the movie and excitement about like who was cast. And like I thought the movie was so good. And I actually think like everyone, all of their roles were perfect. And I can't believe I'm saying this. Like I actually cannot believe I'm saying this. But like my love and respect for Blake lively has gone down a little bit.
Starting point is 00:47:46 And like I loved Blake lively. She could do no wrong in my book. And most people I think that most people that are normal and have a brain, I think are defending her and are like kind of opposite me. they're all like leave her alone like she's still great but i can't lie to you and say that i'm on board with that can you tell me what she did because i'm i'm not i'm not up to speed there were just some interviews that have come out about Blake lively or with Blake lively in them where i understand that like when you're famous like it has to be so hard to be nice to everyone and it has to be so hard to like because you're so exhausted and people are asking you stupid questions but i also don't
Starting point is 00:48:28 understand that like i just don't understand that because like i've met celebrities that are so night like post malone queen latifah like it can be done and to me it's just like if you're gonna be in a bad mood or like you're like not willing to give 100 then just don't don't be there you know don't show up and it just is hard for me because I'm like all these everything is happening because so many people love and adore you and then when you're not nice to them like like who do you think got you there in the first place you know what she say she just like like was, she was just kind of rude and sarcastic in a couple of interviews. Like one of them, she sat down with some girl and this, I think this was like a Norwegian, uh, interviewer. And
Starting point is 00:49:14 I only remember that because like I read the headlines. And this girl, she sat down baked lately. This she was promoting for cafe society that was directed by Woody Allen, I believe. And so she's sitting down with her co-hosts. And the interviewer is like, hey, you know, congratulations on your little bump because like lily's pregnant she goes oh yeah congratulations on your little bump too like and the interviewer wasn't pregnant and it's just like rude like like like why she's trying to like be nice you know and then the interviewer goes on and she's like well this movie was beautiful like how did it feel wearing all of those beautiful clothes and Blake lively's like you know men don't get asked about their clothes I feel like men never get it how come like only females get asked
Starting point is 00:49:58 about the clothes. And, like, was just trying to take this, like, really feminist stance, but was just doing it so aggressively. And you could tell her co-star, like, tried to pipe in and, like, save her a little bit because, like, you could tell, like, would not even look at the interviewer, like, was just, like, pissed from the get-go. And it was just, like, really left a bad taste of my mouth. And I was like, okay, well, you know, it happens. We all have maybe our moments where we're not kind. What trimester was she in? Yeah, I know. I did feel it. It was giving first trimester vibes. So, so. Just trying to be empathetic.
Starting point is 00:50:30 But you could tell she was just like go back. She was like on one, you know. Like she was there to like, it doesn't matter what question you're going to be asked. Like you're there to like like throw down, you know. And like I get that. But I also don't get it when it comes to serving your audience doing interviews. Unless someone's like actually really rude to you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:50 Which I feel like Taylor Swift has been asked some really rude questions. And like Taylor knows when to go in and like when to just give people grace. And like I think sometimes. what celebrities don't realize as someone that has been around celebrities and sometimes interviewed some, like, we're nervous as heck. Like, people are nervous. And like, when we're, sometimes we say things that we don't actually mean, but we're so nervous to be in your presence. Like, give us a little grace, you know? And so maybe that's just me being naive, but like, that's, I don't know. And so then there was a more recent interview where, you know, this whole
Starting point is 00:51:25 movie that came out is about domestic violence. And, you know, me. Like, I'm very, like, I can see both sides. And I do think it's a really great time, though, to have those harder conversations. But like, hey, girl, if you want to do it when you're wearing Versace and wearing all these, like, beautiful clothes, like, I don't care about that. But just just making sure that you do remember, like, the heart of the movie, you know? And so, I wouldn't say that I was mad that she's turned all of her publicity into, like, a fashion show. Because that's what people have been saying. What I get mad about is when you're not kind to people. and like when you're rude about the conversation.
Starting point is 00:52:00 And so this guy asks her, I know we talked about this last week. Like this, it's a pretty stupid question. But like he's trying to basically say like, what should people do if they're going through domestic violence? Like he was like, you know, you meet people all day long. And like, if people have a story like that, like what, how should they tell you or how should they like communicate with you? And she just got really sarcastic and was like, what?
Starting point is 00:52:21 You want my social security number? You want my location? Like you want where I live? You want my phone number? like she's like I'm an Aries still like I'm going to need exactly like what exactly do you mean and it was just like this guy was like such a nice guy and it was like a virtual interview and like there was just no need you know and it's like we get it you're famous you're annoyed like we get it like but and honestly if this was a more lighthearted movie where like it's like
Starting point is 00:52:47 sisterhood of the troving pants or like a love you know a romcom then I feel like most people like would be like okay fine just move on but like dude he was asking about domestic violence and you did play the like role of someone getting like beat up by their husband in this movie like it is kind of a little bit more serious than you're making it and you know I my biggest thing though is like if she would have been like said that same answer but not been rude it would have been okay with me it's just like the rudeness and the sarcasm that I can't get behind it's just really like turns me off because it just makes me feel like she like in these interviews thought she was like so much better than the other people.
Starting point is 00:53:26 And I'm like, that's what we loved about you, is that you were like so chilling down to earth. Honestly, maybe she's due for a little TikTok lashing. I think it's already happening. Oh, no. This is what I'm saying is like, you know, it'll humble you. Yeah, we've all had it. It'll wake you up. It'll be like, oh, wait, shoot.
Starting point is 00:53:43 I'm not perfect. I'm not perfect. I hear you and I hear you very loudly. And I am now thinking about what you're saying. So maybe she was just, she's been on, she's been on cloud nine. for a while. It might be time for TikTok to bring her some street justice. I think that, first of all, I think she's an eight on the heagram. She gives me that vibe. Which is so crazy. Yeah. That's, that's not what any of us. I would think. I know. But she, you know, and I think she,
Starting point is 00:54:11 she still has issues with Justin Baldoni. Here's what's interesting. He hired a crisis PR manager. And it's the same girl that rep like Johnny Depp and his stuff. And she, who else did she wrap recently? I mean, she's wrapped like some big people going through through it. Maybe Connie West during like his divorce. Like, and he hired that girl. So I'm, I'm wondering why. Why he hired her?
Starting point is 00:54:41 Yeah, like is something going to come out that he did on set or I don't know. Isn't that just interesting? But here's what's so crazy. When you go to like, right now go to Blake Liley's Instagram, you don't have to. but if you're listening, and then go to Justin Baldoni's Instagram. Anything that Blake Lively does or she posts, read her comments.
Starting point is 00:55:00 She is getting demolished in her comments. Like, no one is being nice to her. You go to Justin Baldoni and like everyone's obsessed with him. Like, it's almost like, I feel like there's like bots.
Starting point is 00:55:12 Like, they're probably our bots. But he's too small of a actor. Like, he, like who would be sending those bots? Who's trying to attack like Blake Lively? it's almost like weird like how much people don't like her right now is it taylor maybe taylor no taylor's like her best friend and and because of uh taylor they were able to use um a taylor swift song in the movie
Starting point is 00:55:38 i just like to me i'm like there's no way that this many people like hate Blake lively right now like I did some major major sleuthing and like major stuff to find like find these things on Blake lively but do they ever hate Blake lively or who they are attached? Or do they, are they mad about something else? No, I know what you mean. But like, it's just overwhelming. It's like, boom, let me hop on the bandwagon. People are like so bandwagony right now.
Starting point is 00:56:08 But like I don't even think that these people have seen the interviews that I'm talking about. You know what I mean? Like I had to like really do some research to find like why I was. And it's just weird to me. This whole situation. Maybe because she's just like pretty and people hate that. You just hate that. me because I'm beautiful.
Starting point is 00:56:24 You know, like they just like want to see like somebody that looks so perfect fail. Yeah. Whenever, whenever, whenever things get really rocky and like there's a bandwagon against you, you better believe some dead bodies from six years ago are going to come out and start. That's the hardest thing about being in a PR crisis is that it kind of like creates this momentum.
Starting point is 00:56:44 Yeah. And if you've, if you've got enemies, you better believe they're jumping on that bandwagon. Because if the enemies came out when Blake Lee, Blake Lively wasn't getting hate, they would just look like idiot. Yeah, they would be like, you're making, like, this is so stupid.
Starting point is 00:56:57 You're just bringing up this interview that happened six years ago. But now everyone's like, okay, let me use this as my time. That's probably why Justin is hiring the PR crisis manager because he's like, when you get into that mindset, like, if you have been in a PR crisis. Yeah, he's like, he's like, he is going back through the archives and he's like, crap, I bullied that kid in second grade. Henry's going to come after me and actually say that I'm the abusive guy. You know, like, it's, it all comes out. There was like this, like in, when I was like being canceled, the multiple times I've been canceled, there was like this girl from high school that like posted on Instagram about like who I was and like our high school experience. And like I recognized her obviously.
Starting point is 00:57:38 But like we were not friends. Like we never talked. She was a year older. She was on the soccer team. Like I did my own thing. And she had all these opinions about me from high school. I'm like, dude, we didn't even know each other. Like what are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:57:49 But it was like the opportunity that she took. Yeah. And like when you're. in that PR crisis too, it's like playing whackamol because it's like, like if I'm Danny in that situation, let's say the larger issue of why I'm being canceled is one narrative. And then this random girl from high school said you were mean on the soccer team. It's like you don't want to defend yourself against the smaller narrative. Yeah. And it's like, like, you can't really defend yourself against anything at that point. Like, because the more that you defend, like,
Starting point is 00:58:17 you apologize you're wrong. You don't apologize. You're wrong. Like, it's just a lose, lose. It's a mess and I was just really bummed because I really did love like and I still do love her, you know. Nobody's perfect. But just be nice. Honestly, the internet, well, sorry, you want them to be. No, like, Blake, be nice to people. Oh, okay. I was going to say. Like, like, just be nice to people. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I bet Ryan Reynolds is like just sitting there like, like this is all good. Like, this is all good for you. Like because because the internet is totally going to come back and love her again. Like she's one roll away. I will be defending her like next week, 100%. Like I know myself. Like I will be like, guys, get off of Blake's back. She's been through enough. She's changed. She's changed. She's changed. Give her seven days. She's a different person than she was seven days ago. Maybe I, okay, wait, we should probably talk about myself right now. I think maybe why I am, wow, this goes deep. This is really pointing out some of my flaws. This is a good clip. Whoa. Maybe the reason that I am being tough on Blake Live. because like I'm usually not is because she came out with a hair care brand. And it's like competing with Divi in a way, but it's really not. And it just launched a target. And so maybe I'm like, yeah, that would be horrible of me if I felt that way.
Starting point is 00:59:36 You know, could we put it past you? Maybe I'm the haters. Maybe I'm the problem. I honestly, it wouldn't be that crazy because I think that when people jump and dog on people. Because I'm also like, you were born with that God-given hair. Your hair's perfect. Like you came out of the womb with that hair. What about people like that.
Starting point is 00:59:54 No, that's why honestly, like, I think that that's why females on the internet are so vicious. Yeah. Because it's all like this big ball of yarn of like why you're actually mad. And it's like, oh, it's because she was genetically birthed with hair. And Danny's actually upset about that. But like, you did this bad interview six years ago. And it's actually about that. And it's like, this is why truly people are so vicious on the.
Starting point is 01:00:20 on the internet. Like females are like so mean to each other on the internet. It's crazy. No, it's truly it is a totally different brand. But I think maybe why I'm even bringing this up now is because like for some reason, everyone in my life has decided to text me that Blake Liley came out with a hair care brand. Like it was going to affect me.
Starting point is 01:00:38 Yeah. Because when I saw it, I was like, okay. Like it's Blake Liley. It's a totally different. Like it's a totally different brand. You know what I mean? Like we're scalp care. Like we're at old tech.
Starting point is 01:00:48 Like it's so different. But maybe because everybody else in my life thought it was like threatening me. Then I was like, oh, should I be? Yeah. And then and then guess what? And then you became threatened. And then you were like, I'm going to take her down. I'm going to go comment one of 13,000 comments.
Starting point is 01:01:07 And I'm going to really give her my piece of mind because this is the comment that's really going to change her attitude. Did you hear me? Hey, Blake, Blake lively, I met your meetup. Did you see what I commented six years ago to you? I left one of those comments. Did you read it? Oh, gosh, man, I'm broken.
Starting point is 01:01:23 Aren't we all, though? I don't, to be honest, I don't think that's what your thing is. But maybe. No, it wasn't. But the reason I even just thought about that is because I was trying to, the other narratives that people were upset about was that she was using this press tour to, to promote Deadpool, Betty, Betty Buzz and her hair care. And then I remembered that.
Starting point is 01:01:43 And I was like, oh, that is kind of annoying. that part of it. I was like, oh, that is kind of annoying. And I just forgot. We're all just a bunch of hypocrite. So Justin Baldoni's PR crisis manager also managed Logan Paul, Drake. I wonder what Jake was going through at the time. Kendrick. Oh, maybe. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:04 And then. Dude, that person's got their hands full right now. Yeah. That's it. And then also Johnny Depp. That's a. And then Justin Baldoni. But like, I just feel like whatever Justin Baldoni like couldn't have been.
Starting point is 01:02:16 as the level is just, you know, but maybe Justin Baldoni's like, I'm not equipped for this. I'm going against Blake lively and Brian Reynolds. You know, so he was like, I got to hire someone in the big leagues. Because I'm telling you, Justinaldoni, like, no offense to Jane the Virgin fans,
Starting point is 01:02:32 like, wasn't nobody. Like, I had no idea who he was. Yeah, I still don't know. Yeah, he's a big, like, big in that community, but besides that, no one really knew who he was. And like, you're going against Blake lively and Ryan Reynolds and, like, one of the most famous authors of all time,
Starting point is 01:02:46 calling Hoover. Yeah. Speaking of celebrities in crisis, how are our, uh, Love Islanders? Yeah, Love Islanders. Well, um. Sometimes I open up your TikTok and I just kind of scroll for a couple minutes and, uh, it's all, it's all love is I love island.
Starting point is 01:03:04 I know. I have like, I'm like Taylor Swift who? I guess, I guess, I guess, I guess, I guess, I guess the show's over and I guess like, don't say anything that you've seen. Well, I'm not done. They all seem like they're in mental health crisis. especially Aaron. Really?
Starting point is 01:03:17 Oh, don't tell me. I can't wait to watch. So I just, I do, like we have been talking for a long time, but I want to wrap up on this Love Island Fiasco I've been going through. So I have never been a Love Islander. I have tried so hard to get into Love Island, Love Island, UK, Love Island USA. One time I think I was sick and I like forced myself to watch like seven episodes. and it was like the Love Island, like most popular season.
Starting point is 01:03:47 And I was like, this show is so stupid. I cannot get into this. Like, I'm bored out of my mind. I was like, never again. I was so anti-Love island. Has this season made a lot of people convert? Like, is this one of the most popular seasons? I would say so.
Starting point is 01:04:01 Like, I think so. And so the reason I converted was because everyone on the Divi team and Danny Austin team, all the gals were talking about it. And I was like so sick of being left out of the conversation. And I was like, Danny, if everybody else is loving it, there's something wrong with you. Once again, you're the problem. So I decided that I was going to like just hunker down and like binge some episodes. But like I got to episode probably six or seven.
Starting point is 01:04:30 I was locked in and I haven't been let go since. I'm on episode 29 out of like 32, I believe. First of all, there's so many episodes. It's kind of gross how much TV I've watched. But I watched it like whenever I'm like getting ready or like on the airplane or traveling or whatever. And I will say I fast forward through a lot of it. Like a lot of it I kind of just skip like the day part and I just skip to the challenges and I skip to like the exciting stuff. But these people, this cast, I mean, they were made for television. I've never been so entertained with a reality TV show and so obsessed. And what's so crazy is now like Love Island is like now the new bad. Like you go on Love Island, you go viral, you're going to have three million followers. That's crazy. You go on, if you are the Bachelor, you're probably going to gain 400,000 followers.
Starting point is 01:05:22 Like nobody cares anymore. And I really think it's because even the style of filming with Love Island, like, feels so much more real. Like you don't feel like it's scripted or you don't feel like they have a lot of time to like manipulate and think about like it's just like also in the moment. And they also like all sleep in the same bed or bedroom together, which is like so weird. and like, but also the dynamics is like, it's just, it's addicting because you're like, I have to see what happens. And then I will say up until probably episode, I'm just guessing, 12.
Starting point is 01:05:57 It wasn't as, it wasn't that trashy. So like, I was like, this show is actually not even that trashy. Like, and they would do these challenges where they had to like make out with people. And, but like it's almost like when they're doing the challenges, they're making out like more for show. Like it's like funny, not like. oh, they're actually making out because they love each other. So it wasn't until like episode 12. And then I was like, oh, damn, though, this show is really is trashy.
Starting point is 01:06:20 It's bad. I was like, I'm wrong. And I had told other people that I had met. I was like, guys, it's really not that bad. Like, I went on a walk with Ellie. And I was like, I'm surprised. Like, it's really not that I'd trust you. Like, you know, like, for example, what would happen on this show is like,
Starting point is 01:06:34 there would be a couple that like, let's just say you and I are dating. And we'd be dating on the show. And then they'd have this challenge where, like, you have to spend the bottle and you have to make out with someone. you and I would be like so in love that if I made out with someone else, it was like a joke. You know? Like so that's the type of trash that it was because it wasn't actually like I was cheating on you and going and making out with someone else.
Starting point is 01:06:54 It was like, oh, they just parted it up for the challenge. Yeah. So I was like, it's kind of stupid because like everybody's just doing things for show. It's not actually for love. No, I was wrong. You get past episode 12 and it gets real messy, real quick, real like, you know, they're not showing people like doing it or anything. But like it's, wow. I mean, babe, would they do to these people?
Starting point is 01:07:17 Like, would mentally, like, destroy you. It's psychological warfare. Like, okay, there's this part where they, I sound like such a newbie because, but like, let me just fill in any millennials. So there's this part where like, basically you're partnered up with your love, like who you're supposed to be with. And so it'd be like, you and I have been on the show. We've fallen in love since episode one.
Starting point is 01:07:41 And, you know, everybody on the show is attractive, too. That's, like, also, like, a key thing. And they're not just, like, attractive. Like, they're, like, hot. You know, like, they're not, like, cute. Like, they're, like, sexy hot people. And they walk around all day and they're, like, swimsuits, which is also just, like, a weird dynamic.
Starting point is 01:07:59 I'm like, if somebody had to see that much of my butt 24-7, it would be, I would be scarred. Or maybe they would be scarred. But anyway. And so it would be, like, we're all in this house together. We're all paired up with their loves. we're getting to know each other. We're going on dates. We're spending more time together. We're like loving that we've been together for, let's just say a month, four weeks, so much time together.
Starting point is 01:08:19 And then all of a sudden they take all the girls out of the house. No, they take all the boys out of the house, put in a new house with all new six set of hot, smoke and hot girls. And they're like, we want to test your love. Make sure that you're with the right person. Go meet these other people and make sure that like that you're good with your original, your OG. So, we're like, we want to test your love. then they basically all just like go make out with like all these new people for like two days. And then they decide do you want to be with your OG of four weeks or your new girl of two days? And it's like it's so funny because all the girls just stay loyal and all the boys just go for physical attraction and leave their girls.
Starting point is 01:08:57 But it's just like. Social experiment. It's a social experiment where it's like it's horrible. It's horrible. I just, I couldn't. So you haven't finished it yet. No, but I'm. How far behind are you?
Starting point is 01:09:09 No, I have like three episodes. left. Oh, okay. And then the reunion just happened. You'll finish it tonight. No, I, like, I'm a binge watcher, so, like, I'll probably finish it by Wednesday, but. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:20 Wow. So, Aaron, is, is Aaron okay? I don't know if he's, how many. Oh, we don't know if he's okay. But he's. Well, he was one of the guys that left Costa Amor, left to go to Costa Amor. He had been, like, so steady with this one girl, like, they were about to become, like, boyfriend, girlfriend, and then he meets this new chick for 24 hours in his
Starting point is 01:09:40 like making out all over her. It's like you basically had a girl at home. Aaron. Girlfriend. And then he gets back and it's so funny because all the guys bring back their new booze. And but then end up wanting to go back to their OG loves. It's like, what are you going to do? Yeah, you just got to watch him. Oh my gosh. So anyway. It's a good chat. Good chat. That's what they say. They call it chats. She like to go for a chat. Oh, Aaron, the British guy? That's what they say in Love Island is like, you want to go for a chat? Oh. And then you know what else?
Starting point is 01:10:11 They always say that like is like the young people lingo. Yeah, I don't move like that. Like, I don't move like that. They always say that. They're like, it'd be like if you yelled at Stella whenever like it was actually stradden, new hitter. And I was like, you should see the way Jordan's moving. They say that.
Starting point is 01:10:29 Interesting. Yeah. They're like, the way you've moved in this house is like not okay with me. What's started saying? I know. And then they also always say like from the jump. I loved him from the jump. How old are these people?
Starting point is 01:10:42 Like mid-20s? They're like 27. Oh, late 20s? Yeah, some of them are 27. I would say the oldest is like 28. Yeah. So we're like a little outside of the age. No, not too far off.
Starting point is 01:10:54 Not too bad. Anyway, I loved you from a jump. I move like that. Oh, gosh. Okay, well, anyway, thank you guys for listening to this week's episode. Feel free to check us out on Instagram and take talk at de-influence podcast we love you and we'll talk to you later bye
