Hello and welcome back to your favorite podcast, D-influenced.
I'm here with my boo. How are you?
I'm good. How are you feeling after that baseball game?
I feel like I can breathe again. And that was six days ago.
Danny didn't really speak to quite literally anyone for about a week.
Y'all, I can't even tell you I was a, I was a shell of a person.
for those of y'all that don't know,
I played in the MLB celebrity softball game.
And when I was asked to be in this game,
they emailed me,
which, you know, at first I thought,
I was like, this is spam.
Like, this can't be real.
And I committed to play in this game
before I knew I was pregnant.
So I had every intention in the world of, like,
I was like, every day.
I could be out there, like, hitting balls with my dad.
Like, I'm going to go to the batting cages.
Like by the time that game rolls around, like I will be a pro.
You brought your baseball mitt to Colorado and your bats and your balls to Colorado, but then you got sick.
Well, not only did I get sick in Colorado, but I was like so sick my entire first trimester.
I couldn't even get out of bed to like throw a ball.
So that plan just went completely out the window.
And the game just kind of showed up.
And I was still in my first trimester.
I have never been so anxious in my life.
And let me tell you why.
There's so many reasons why.
Actually, it goes so deep.
Well, first of all, softball is a game that I, that terrifies me.
Like, I've always been baseball as well.
I'm so scared of the ball.
And I have been since I was in fourth grade when my mom signed me up for softball.
Because, you know, I played every sport in my life.
And there's probably not another sport where I'm afraid of the ball like that.
And actually lacrosse, I was afraid of the ball too.
But they're similar balls.
They're like hard and small.
La Crosse is scary.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a contact sport.
Yeah.
It's just small balls really free.
You play lacrosse?
I played lacrosse for like one season.
I think I was in like middle school.
Wow.
I still don't know everything about you.
Yeah, that one I hated too.
I hated that one just as much of softball.
Anyway, so this is what's so wild.
in fourth grade, when I tell you, like, the last time I felt as much anxiety and nervousness
was when I was in fourth grade waiting for the softball games on the weekends.
Like, I hated it so much.
And I would just sit in my room and, like, I couldn't even speak to anyone.
I couldn't hang on my friends.
I would just dread it.
Like, I couldn't eat.
Like, I was so anxious about the softball game.
Fourth grade, okay.
I worried myself so much that I gave myself shingles, which,
Just so you know, shingles, you don't get shingles typically, like on average.
Like, most people get it whenever they're like in their 80s or 90s, like when you're older.
But I had a really light case of the chicken box.
So it's like dormant in my body.
And when I am like physically stressed or like next level, shingles come out.
So I had shingles in fourth grade because of softball.
Not only that, I go to practice and Alex Kirby throws me a, you know, a big, she had an arm.
That girl had an arm.
I try to catch the ball.
It hits me smack in the middle of the eye.
I get a huge black eye.
The next day, I wear my Dirk-Navitsky jersey to school with my big black guy because
I'm hoping, like, my jersey will distract people.
I mean, it was like just the most, like, it looks like it was drawn on.
Like, it was just iconic.
And so ever since then, I've hated the sport.
And to be honest with you, I like going to the games, but like, there's a little PTSD,
like, with the sport.
But when they asked me, like, you know.
no, I can't say no to like an opportunity.
They're like, why'd you say yes?
Babe, do you know me?
Like, Terrell Owens is playing, okay?
Like, Des Bryant, like Dion Sanders.
Like, you think I want to pass up an opportunity?
I know, but you just, I mean, real talk.
It was going to be aired on ESPN.
Like, I was like, this is a challenge.
And like, I'm here for it.
Like, I don't say no to things like that.
I know, but you drove yourself nuts.
No, I know.
But, like, I'm proud of myself that I did it, you know?
You feel proud after the fact.
100% would you do it again?
Yeah.
My whole argument is that you create stress cycles of your own making.
Yes, but that's what makes me great.
I mean, honestly, that's a, that's kind of a, that's like a mic drop.
Because like I'm not going to say, no, I'm going to say yes, the opportunity, even though it kills me and stresses me out.
Like, I'm still going to do it.
But let me tell you why it was next level anxiety.
It was more than what I was feeling in fourth grade.
This is tea that I haven't really showed with anyone.
Okay.
I did show with you one night, but like you really didn't console me very well about this.
I don't, sometimes when you're in these states, I don't know if you need gentle.
Yeah, I know.
I get it.
I didn't blame you.
I don't blame you.
I kind of tried everything in the book. I was like.
I was a mess.
I was a mess. I was mess.
It's not, I'm not blaming you.
But like, anyway.
We took our kids to Despicable Me 4 and she just stared at the screen.
I think he fell asleep.
The Saturday before the game, because the game wasn't until freaking 7.30.
So I had to like sit in my anxiety all day long.
And so Jordan was like, we got to get out of the house.
I was like, I can't get out of bed.
I'm just like numb.
Like, I can't.
So we went to a movie.
The kids are dying laughing and she's just dead inside.
I'm like, like I felt like I was going to throw up all day.
Like, truly.
But let me tell you why.
So the MLB posted.
on their Instagram, a, like, little poster of who was playing to announce the game.
I didn't see this.
Okay.
So their picture has Kane Brown.
I think it had maybe Mike Towers.
It could be wrong.
He's, like, big, you musician has, like, 12 million followers.
Camille Kostick, who, like, who cares?
She's so freaking hot.
Like, nobody, like, she's, like, everybody loves her.
Like, you know, she's so beautiful.
Yeah, but they didn't put her front of the poster.
No, they did.
She was on it with me.
I know, but you were enlarged.
No, we were the same size.
No.
Yes, we were, but anyway.
Well, they took it down, so who knows?
Well, let me tell the story.
So they announced the Celebrity All-Star game lineup roster, but I'm on the poster.
And so I commented on the post and I'm like, I'm practicing my baseball.
Like, you know, I was like just trying to like have phones.
They're like, get out of here.
Who are you?
Literally the comments, like all my haters.
flooded this post.
They were like,
oh,
Danny thinks she's a celebrity.
MLB,
like,
I'm ashamed.
Like,
you think Danny should be there.
MLB,
I can't believe that,
like,
you're taking on this liability
of letting a pregnant person
play in the game.
And then everybody went
for like the pregnant angle.
I'm like,
dude,
we're pregnant.
We're not like,
like disabled.
Your OB did say
you could play in this
baseball game.
Because it's a softball game.
They pitch you underhanded.
Like,
they're not like pitching you
you fastballs.
She said no to whitewater rafting.
She did.
She did.
I really tried to get her to say yes to that one.
We tried.
Yes, too.
Yes.
She said no whitewater rafty or rock climbing.
I was like, dang.
But yeah, so anyway, the comments were so bad and they would, I would say like 70% were
about me.
You know, when you scroll through like all the really nasty ones are at the top,
70% were about me.
And like, get this girl out of here.
Like, you're nobody.
You're not a celebrity.
And then the MLV took the post down.
Yikes.
So like.
That probably scarlet lettered you with all the other players too.
It hurt really.
Because then I was like, oh my gosh, all the other players are looking at the comments.
You're like, King Bog, get a picture with me.
He's like, no.
He's like, no, no, no, no.
So that killed me inside.
But, you know, I tried to not let it affect me.
Okay.
But then I'm thinking so many people want me to fail.
Like, these people.
are just, they hate me so much.
They don't even want me to be in this game.
So now I'm going to go out there and I'm going to whiff the ball three times in a row.
Like, I can't let these haters win.
Like, you know that kills me.
Yeah.
Like, I can't.
I can't.
And I was like, I have got to hit the freaking ball.
And I, I, like, this is for me and all the pregnant women out there and we are not going
to whip the ball.
And it just put so much pressure on myself because I was like, the last thing I'm going to do is
with the ball.
every time I go up there and then let my haters win. I'm not saying I'm coming from a healthy mindset.
Yeah. Can we talk about these haters for a second? So we've run actual studies on this. Like we have,
because the haters come up in our conversations and they motivate Danny so much. Not that much,
but like my, my lover is motivate me more than my haters. I don't think so because let me quantify this for you.
We have run three months audits, three month audits on your DMs, meaning we quantify,
every single DM that you've gotten.
And for three months straight,
your haters, quote unquote, made up like 0.5, less than 1%.
Babe, they had so much power that they got the MLB to take the post down.
No, I agree.
I agree that negativity is louder on the internet.
But in the grand scheme of things,
what I told you in the car is you were like,
I can't let my haters when I go, Danny,
you're haters of 2.3 million people.
I don't know the math.
It was like, it's like 100 people.
I'm sorry that I'm human.
Like, you would do the same thing.
No, I think that the counter argument to this is that this is what Michael Jordan did.
He would always make up fake many enemies in his head.
And it, like, motivated him to be great.
Yeah.
And here's a thing.
Like, if it was something that I was good at, I think I could do that.
But, like, I knew I wasn't good at softball.
So I knew I was coming at a disadvantage.
And I knew that, like, they were probably, like, it was a 50-50 shot.
Like, it was 50-50.
Like, if I was going to hit it or not,
It was a 50-50 shot.
Yeah, but like, I'm not saying that your mental framework that you got going doesn't motivate
you to be great, but it's not reality.
No, I know.
I know.
I have problems.
Even your haters, no one is sitting there and saying, I am watching this on ESPN and I am hoping
and praying that Danny strikes out.
Oh my God, babe.
You're so wrong.
People definitely were.
A hundred percent.
No, I think they were upset that you were in it because they didn't deserve, they didn't feel
that you deserve to be there.
Yeah, but they're not.
But like, look how great.
that would have been for like she doesn't deserve to be there look at her she whiffed the ball three
times that would have just made them so happy i think that that's what you had to tell yourself
i think that's what you had to tell yourself to be great you're so like wrong because that's what
people are thinking like i know it for a fact like i don't read my hater pages but like a hundred
percent like people are probably talking like that but it's okay like one day you'll be
asked me in this celebrity softball game and we'll see how you
handle it. It's, it was really, really hard. But like, here's the thing. I hit the ball every time I went up
there and I even scored. You were playing deep, deep outfield. We were watching you. I was praying. I'm like,
dear God, please let the ball come to me. I can't visualize this. Please let the ball come to me
on a podcast. But you can imagine looking in the outfield and everyone's like kind of close to the
dirt at the dirt and the grass. And Danny's like at the fence line. Well, because these guys were like
hitting it out of the park.
They're hitting home runs.
What we thought was that you didn't want to get a pop fly and be caught underneath it.
And so you wanted to let it fall and then let the other person grab it.
They're 100%.
That was my strategy.
I think you were very strategic about the whole thing.
Yeah, the game.
Let's talk about one thing that was really hard to watch.
You did great, by the way.
You did amazing in the game.
I was so sorry.
Sprinted so fast.
I know.
You ran so fast.
It was amazing.
And honestly, I think the.
reach of the game surprises me. I had so many people from like people I used to work with. I
gave me clout in a way that I've never had a clout before. Right. So it was great. You did great.
The one thing that I would say was painful to watch. Oh no. I know what you're going to say.
It was the warm-ups. The warm-up.
Unfortunately, no one really wanted to warm up with Danny.
Okay, wait. Let me set the stage. Okay, first of all, I, when I got to the game, there were like five or six people that I immediately hit it off with.
Bones, number one, Camille Acostick, West from Summer House, Torell Owens.
Who else? I mean, oh, the two other softball players. Some would say really hit it off with
Terrell Owens. I can't tell that story because I know you'll get upset. I don't care. Tell the
story. It's funny. Do you want me too? Yeah, Terrell Owens hit on Dane. Okay. Well, first of all,
for sure, for sure. Like, no, no question, video evidence. No, we didn't post the
whole video number one.
Oh, so you cut it down.
No.
What was it the back of the video?
No, actually, Haley didn't get it on camera, but I'll tell you what happened.
First of all, I feel like I'm going on somebody to, but we'll talk about the
Tarolone thing.
Okay.
My love for Jordan surpasses.
Oh my gosh.
Give me a break.
Just tell the story.
No, I'm serious.
Like, just let me just say this for a second.
Okay.
like I genuinely like our love goes beyond looks right you and I can appreciate other good looking people right
but like truly like you know Brad Pitt's like my number one like if Brad Pitt came up here and was
like Danny you're the love of my life I'd be like ew get the F out like I'm married like I love my husband
right you know I would do that for sure and if page of Lorenz did that for you you would probably
do the same for sure right yes but like you still could be like Patriot Rens is a really good looking person
Yes.
Yeah.
And like, but like truth, truthfully, like I don't even like even attractive guys like gross me out because they're not my husband.
Like I, you know that.
Okay.
So preface.
Okay.
Phew.
Got it off my shoulders.
Okay.
So then I'm on the escalator.
And I'm really excited to meet Terrell Owens because he's just like the one athlete that my parents, my dad and my brother always talked about him and Dionne Sanders.
So I'm more so like, like, oh, my family loves him.
you know, not because like I personally like watched Trelloins when he played on the Cowboys.
You know what I mean?
But I'm like, oh, this will give me a clout with my family.
So I go up to us later with him.
Like he is very attractive.
Like God just really took some extra time on those arms and the height and the smile.
And he has kind of like a baby face, but he's like a man.
Like, you know.
And so it kind of caught me a little off guard.
Like the same way if Paige Lorenz was standing next to you'd be like,
wow, like that's a beautiful human.
You know what I mean?
I'm not trying to date him, babe.
Anyway.
So I like, and I'm like, okay, I really want to like meet him because he could be on my team.
And like I want to get like, I've told my team, I said the two people I want to get a real with are either Terrell Owens or Matt James.
Because those were the two that I was like would honestly, they're only people that I was like really, really, really excited to meet.
And so I was like, oh, here's my chance.
So I go up to my go, you know, I thought you're a lot taller than I thought you were going to be.
I thought you were a really short guy.
Was that your opener?
Or was it the other line?
Which was what?
You're really musly.
Yeah.
And then I said, yeah.
And then I don't remember what the order was.
But I was like, yeah, you're also a lot more musly than I thought you were going to be.
You know, I was just messing with him.
And he like, then he kind of gave me this like, like, look, like, you know.
And the whole escalator, he's like staring out.
me. Like, like, he looks like he's mad at me and I'm like, did I piss him off? Like, but I was just
messing with him. Yeah. So we get off the escalator and- Or he could have been like, this,
this girl is hitting on me. Can you believe this? I'm on the escalator and this girl is just
straight up hitting on me right now. Well, hold on, just wait, okay? And I'm also with King Bach.
So I'm like talking to King Bach, whatever. We get off that- Who is, to be clear from the video evidence,
is hyping his friend Terrell Owens up to hit on you back. He goes, the real. The real.
is God. He's the wrist god.
Yeah. I was like, I'm going to have to Google that one because anyway, so we get off the
escalator and I'm like, I go, what do you do? Like, are you an influencer or something? I was
like, I don't know. You play sports. Like, I was just messing with him. I obviously knew who he was.
But I don't think that he knew that I knew who it was. Like, and then King Bach is like,
oh, like da-da-da. And he goes, what's your name? And I said, I'm not.
Dan, I go, what's your name?
And he goes, handsome.
But then I'm like, oh, my God, this has progressed to maybe a flirt.
And like, you know, literally, babe, just so you know, just so you know, the next question,
he goes, well, what do you do, Danny?
I go, well, I'm a mom.
I have three kids.
I'm actually pregnant right now.
Like, literally just went off on a nut.
If I called Haley right now, she would say that that's what you said.
It's on camera.
I said I make videos and he goes, what do you make videos about?
I go, I make videos like this guy.
What do you make videos about?
I go, I'm a mommy blogger.
I think it's on my feed.
I go, my mommy blogger.
I think it's so, okay, sorry, finish the story.
It's like you're downing me.
Like you think I am like actually flirting with Threl Owens.
No, I think that the narrative, you have put this narrative on Terrell Owens like he was hitting
on you.
And I think that if someone, if some girl came up to me and said, you are so musly,
I'd be like, oh, I'm getting hit on.
Oh my God.
It's okay.
Honestly, here's here's the plus side of it, I think.
I think that the plus side here.
Like, why is it so bad?
Like, honestly, like, if somebody hit on you, I would be like, wow, like, good for you.
Like, you know, it's like, why can you feel proud of me?
No, I, I came up to you.
Nobody ever hits on me.
I get one hit and then it's like, you take it away.
No, I came up to you at the game and I was like, man, you are in your, going into your second
trimester and you're getting hit on by Terrell Owens. That's amazing. Well, here's another thing that I found out.
He's 50. You could be my dad. I literally thought that he was... He could be my dad. He could. He's 20 years
older than me. Guys, I swear to you, I thought he was younger than me. I swear to you, like,
I swear to you, like, those genes, like the way he is built, he looks like he is 28 years old. Like,
I swear to you, it is the craziest scientist.
thing I've ever seen the fact that he's 50.
Like, it's wild.
Yeah.
But anyway, even though he talks, he acts like he's like a 20 year old.
Like, it's crazy.
So anyway, I would be proud of you if somebody hit on you.
Well, good.
Let me tell you this story then.
I'm kidding.
Anyway, so there were a lot of people that I was like viming with and they all got put on
the national team.
And then I got put on the American team.
And to be honest, I didn't really have that like one person besides Matt James that I was like really vibing with on my team.
So and I tried really hard, you know, like I was in the we, we rode the elevator.
We rode the bus.
Like I was like sitting by myself like on my phone and like everybody's talking.
So hard.
Tiffany Haddish, I really wanted to vibe with her.
But she vibes with everybody, you know.
And so it's like she's kind of the popular girl.
And I'm like, you know, I can't go up to the popular girl.
She's kind of like working everybody.
You know, King Bach and Tiffany are.
like making videos together.
Like I don't really know a lot of the other people on my team.
I didn't know our coaches.
I didn't know.
Yeah.
So I just really struggled to be honest,
socially with my team.
But they were great people.
You know,
I just was not vibing.
So then it was like they all had friends and you were kind of the outcast.
Yes.
It reminded me so much of high school,
high school.
But like if I,
like I so many times wanted to run over to the blue team and be like,
could I warm up with you all?
Because there were like six people I could have vived with,
you know,
that I was like that I would be friends with.
And so.
So we get to the stadium and I'm like a nervous wreck.
Like Jenny Finch was really nice to me.
I kept telling her how nervous I was,
but she didn't even warm up because she's like like a profession.
She's like a legend.
She's like a professional softball player, you know.
And honestly, I'm like, do I want Jenny Finch just throwing the ball on me?
Like that would be really scary.
And so we get to the field.
Everybody immediately, it was like they assigned us partners before.
Everybody just runs out and starts throwing the ball with each other.
Like everybody partners off.
And I was like, dang.
I didn't get this memo.
Like, and nobody wanted to throw the ball with me.
I know.
She kind of like walked from group to group to group.
I tried.
I'd be like, throw me the ball.
Like, I was like, Matt.
And then he was like filming a video with Tiffany.
I was like, okay, okay, not him.
And then the dude perfect guys were throwing like pretty intense balls to each other.
And then there was another girl on my team that was like a sports influencer, but like she was really good.
And I was like, I'm not going to in the middle of that.
Like she was taking it really serious.
And so, you know, I was like, I really have no one right now.
So then I go over.
were to, I didn't know who he was, but his shirt said coach Al. And he wasn't warming up
because he was like, the assistant coach. And I was like, hi, can you throw the ball with me? And he
goes, yeah, I'll throw the ball with you. Literally just like that. And then he threw the ball
with me and he was like, he threw it with a ball for like probably five minutes. Like everybody's still
warming up. And he's like, okay, I think you're good. No, it wasn't five minutes. It was like 60 seconds.
Right. And I was like, yeah, he just did not want to help. He was busy or something.
something. Do you think the conspiracy is that it was the poster? Maybe 100% now that I think about it.
Oh, and then let me tell you another thing that happened. This whole day was just really hard.
So we're going through the announcements and they're like announcing like who each player is.
And like I swear to you. Okay. I hear, you know, each person like Kane Brown musician,
Tiffany Haddish, actress or actor, King Buck, comedian.
The people that were like influencers that were invited to be a part of the game,
they did not call themselves influencers.
They said internet personality or comedian or content creator.
Content creator.
Well, I'm learning.
Don't ever call me an influencer.
Yeah, people are not like that.
I don't think people like that name.
And you can tell me if I'm wrong.
But I swear to you, when they announced my name, it was like Danny Austin influencer.
People booed.
No, no.
I swear, like, that's how mentally, like, when you are not in a good place or, like, insecure, like, I literally heard it.
Yeah.
Like, I probably created it with my brain.
This is, like, your subconscious is now starting to take over.
Like, this, like, this voice in you that says, like, you're not good enough.
Your haters are going to win.
I heard Daniels said, boom.
Yeah.
It's like, it's like starting to warp your reality.
It's like a hallucinating.
Yeah, you're, like, becoming a little schizo.
And my heart just sank.
My little heart just fluttered away.
Yeah, at the beginning of the game, that's tough.
It was really tough.
I was like, nobody wants to pass the ball with me.
The MLB hates me because I'm a liability.
And now all the audience is doing me.
No, it's true.
That did not happen.
Your whole family was there.
Our whole team was there.
No one heard that.
Okay, okay.
That makes me feel a little bit better.
But I was like, oh, it's because they call me an influence are not a content creator.
Yeah.
I was like, we got to get Jenny on the phone.
Can they change that?
So anyway, I got to hit the ball twice.
Tiffany Haddish opened up our game with some interesting pitches.
So we were kind of started like, you know, not in the lead.
And, and yeah.
Was she supposed to be the first pitcher?
Why wouldn't they put Julia Fisher in there?
No, this is what's so interesting about like, and I don't want to.
Just do it.
It's very interesting how these celebrities work.
you know how they say you're only as strong as the strongest person on your team like that is so
true especially when it comes to these celebrities like if you have a good team around you of
people like publicist manager like pushing pushing you like you're going to get extra air time
you're going to get like special privileges you get to do things that nobody else gets to do
for example there were three or four people on my team that were allowed to bring like a
videographer on the field i was not allowed to bring like a videographer on the field i was not allowed
to bring a soul.
Like, and not only that, but like, everybody around me, like, they put everybody, which is fine.
I get it.
Like, I'm not as famous as Tiffany Havish, like, whatever.
Right.
But, but there were some people that were, like, got similar views as I did that had people
on the, on the field.
And I bet it's just because they have teams that, like, just bulldoze, you know?
And, but what was really interesting was seeing these teams of people push.
them out on the field
slash pushing them to do stunts
that got them camera time
slash like just the way
that it was all planned and contrived.
Yeah like King Bach.
So if you were at the game
watching the game,
it was very strange
because King Bach was like laying in the outfield.
And I thought about doing it too with him
that I was like, oh no.
Don't copy of you.
Well, I thought about running over to him
and doing like.
Yeah.
Because when Jenny Finch was pitching
and like nobody was hitting the ball.
Right.
So he started like
laying in the outfield and I knew in my mind, I was like, he is so smart.
The camera's going to stand at him. He knows that he's going to get clipped. People are going to
be like, who's this funny guy? Production. That is kind of why they're at the top, top, top,
because they know how to work media better than anyone. And here's the difference between me
and Tiffany Haddish. And this is why she will always be more successful than me is because when she,
like, I went into that game and I was like, okay, I want the best for my team. Like, I want to win. I want
to do like, don't put me in because I'll probably like lose the points for everyone.
Like, you know.
And Tiffany Haddish was like, I don't care.
Like, I want the air time.
I'm going to start pitching.
She pitched the whole first inning.
And like that girl can't pitch.
Yeah.
But she got all that airtime.
She had this funny stunt where she threw a lime.
And, you know, everybody, like, if you were actually taking the game seriously, like,
everyone would have like take her out.
But it's like for the camera time.
And she got a lot of air time.
And that is why.
Like the fact that she can like get her mind outside of that and be like, I know what this.
I know what the end goal is.
This is not about winning.
This is about getting airtime.
And it's honestly not even about my team or the people around me.
Yeah.
It is about one thing, which is like the millions of people that are watching.
That are watching.
And so the fact that she was able to focus on the end goal and the way that I wasn't just shows why she's great and I'm not.
People like, and that's the thing is like, it's like,
people that are celebrities that get that airtime, that get that attention, even politicians,
like, that's probably why they all, they all have this like similar conscious where like,
they don't have one. They just like are able to push through and, and do things that the normal
average person wouldn't do. Well, it's like an Enneagram 8. Like, Enneagram 8s do not think,
generally speaking, about like, they're not going to like dwell or feel anxiety about how someone's
feeling about something, they're going to be like, here's my decision. I'm moving forward with it.
Who cares? It costs, like, us a loss or whatever, but who cares? And, like, that is why those
people are successful. And you might be angry about it. And you might be like, wow, that's not fair.
Doesn't matter. She still beat you because she got what mattered the most out of it. Yeah, like, they might,
like, even if they're not great people, they're going to win. They're going to win. They're going to win.
They're going to win. They're willing to do things that normal people are not.
willing to do.
100%.
So I had mad respect for it.
I was like, yeah, she's losing us in the game and she's like literally bawling every ball.
But like she's getting so much airtime right now, which is like what her goal was.
I will say anything that you want to talk about with this game, I want to talk about one crazy
thing that happened.
Like, are you going to move on from the game?
No.
I'm going to talk about how people like while you were in the game, former president of the
United States almost got assassinated.
Oh my God.
I know.
That was crazy to come off a few.
field and hear about. It was crazy. I mean, we were all there and, you know, everyone kind of got it like at the
same time in the stands. And y'all were kind of like already gone and sort of on the field.
Yeah. And I mean, it was really weird to have you walk out and be like, hey, this big thing just
happened. Everything's fine. But it was crazy. And I think people thought that you didn't care.
But the timing of it, it literally happened like while you're like.
while we were on, like, going to the game or something.
Yeah.
And we weren't obviously like on our phones.
I'm not looking at the news.
No, you're like, can I not strike out?
Like, please just hit the freaking ball.
But yeah, that was.
Did people talk about it like on the field at all?
No.
I don't think anybody knew.
Right.
To be honest.
And if they did, I feel like they were just trying to like block it out to finish the game
and then deal with it because like nobody brought it up.
But no, we were there all day.
Like nobody was on their phones looking at anything.
No, everyone's kind of working.
Yeah, no.
So crazy.
talked about it. I was wondering if the
MLB was going to address it at the stadium.
No. Yeah, I know.
Because he was okay. But like, if something would have happened, I think it would have been a very
crazy event. Well, the game also wasn't live. That's true. So the social media posts
were live, but not, they aired it like on TV two days later. So. Yeah, that was wild though.
Yeah. Wow.
How about Dude Perfect?
liking Divi.
Oh, yeah.
Tyler.
Tyler Tony.
Tony.
Which is like such a fun name to say.
Tyler Tony.
I know.
It's such a stage name.
Yes.
So the Jude Perfect wives came over to me, which I follow them.
They're really sweet.
I've never met most of them, but like I sometimes were in similar circles or whatever.
And yeah, I was so excited to talk to them.
and they told me that Tyler loves Divy for his flow.
Which is honestly great because his flow is dope.
I know.
He's got this mullet going that is pretty great.
Great hair.
And I was thinking, I was like, oh my gosh, could Debbie be Dude Perfect's official hair care
sponsor?
But then I was like, I don't know because they're done most so young.
And like, young kids, yeah.
But like, we do have clean ingredients.
So like it's not like the kids couldn't use it.
But it's like, do the kids really care about?
Yeah, I don't know.
Skel felt, you know, but maybe they should.
They probably care about having hair like him.
Exactly.
And it's like a nice little peppermint, you know, dandruff.
A lot of those kids probably get to, I don't know.
So so far we've got Scotty Shuffler.
Yes.
And we got Tyler Tony.
Man, we should have brought some to the game.
What we were thinking?
I hate whenever we do stuff like this.
Like Dion Sanders was there.
I don't know if he has hair.
He does not have hair.
But still, people need to wash their scalp.
True.
And it has a lot of good, like, scot benefits.
True.
He's like just running on his scalp.
No, honestly, talk about Deon's.
Sanders for a second? Swag. There's no other word for it. I mean, he walked in and his presence is
electric. He walked in with that cowboy hat. Dude, it's insane. I mean, he is built for social media for fame.
My brother looked at me and he goes, this is my Taylor Swift moment. This is my Taylor Swift moment.
And I walked right over to Dion Sanders. I go, hey, can I get a picture with you? I know. I don't
think Laining got a picture. I know. But I was like, Lina, just go ask a picture. Go ask for a picture.
He would have totally done it. Yeah. Can you imagine if he was your coach because he coached the other team?
I know. I'm telling you, I was made for that blue team.
I know.
That blue team, like, I mean, I love my team. Don't get it wrong.
But like, I was, I was meant to be on the blue team.
Yeah.
It's okay. It's okay. Next year, M.O.B.
Call me.
So we had a breath of fresh air on what, Sunday.
Oh, we never talked about Matt James.
Okay, let's talk about Matt James.
I just want to say one thing about Matt James.
Sweet baby.
Sweet baby boy.
Sweet baby boy.
I mean, top four nicest people I've ever met in my life.
Wow. Who's top three?
Queen Lativa.
Fair.
Matt James.
Okay.
He said top three.
This has been really nice to me.
Whoever does marketing for Tart, they send me a lot.
Product.
I feel like there's like one or two.
There's like a couple people who have come into your life and they know how to kind of like
just so perfectly.
make you feel safe and good about yourself.
All I want is I just want to feel like safe and good about yourself.
Like, please.
And it's almost like they knew it beforehand.
Yes.
And they just like,
it's like,
Queenleteafel looked at me and she was like,
honey,
like you're amazing.
Like I love you.
Like,
and it's like just.
You're enough.
Yeah.
You're enough.
No,
but Matt James could read me.
Like he could read me because I was not myself.
I'm not going to lie.
With the blue team,
I was more myself with them with the orange team.
Yeah.
You know, but he could read me and he would come over to be like, hey, how you doing?
You're a beast.
You got this.
And they just walk away.
I'd be like, oh, thank God.
That Matt James said, I was okay.
I'm a beast.
Really, really nice guy.
Super friendly.
He was like that to everyone, though, you know?
Like, it's so funny because I always think that people like, like, really love me,
but then they just really love everybody.
No, they love you.
Yeah, but you know what I mean?
Don't be hard on yourself.
No, you know what I mean?
But they're those personalities.
To everyone.
it's like your hairdresser.
Yeah, Charlie.
I've told that story.
I mean, I thought I was his number one.
Yeah, you think that you're, you think that you're, you think that you're,
you think that you're their best friend, but they have like 20 best friend.
So you rested on Sunday.
You felt relief for a day.
Yeah, but I'm so sore.
And then we went into.
Well, we had that.
Jason.
Yes, we had a podcast interview with Jason Tardick, like, which were you nervous about
that?
No.
Yeah.
Did you think I was?
I don't know.
you were sick for three months and kind of asleep and then you were like there was a game and then you so that took you out for a week and then you were kind of stressed after that a little bit well just keep in mind the day before the MLB softball game I did a shoot from 5 a.m. till 5 p.m. for target by old to and with like a huge production team at my house which really was a lot for me too and then I go straight to the MLB softball game and then I go straight into a WWD interview 8 a.m.
and then I go straight to two podcast interviews with Jason Tardick,
and then I go straight into making a reel for Nordstrom.
And Prime Day.
And sorry, Prime Day.
And then, yeah, I go straight into North Stream anniversary sale and then Prime Day sales.
Mama's tired.
Mama needs a trip to Cabo.
Mama needs a trip to Cobb.
100%.
Yes.
So Jason Tardick was like cooler than I thought it was going to be.
Three on the Intergram?
Three on the Instagram.
Like, to be honest, yeah, I don't really like keep up with with Jason Tardick much.
Like I knew I watched his season of The Bachelorette with Becca.
And I knew he was dated Caitlin Bristow.
But like, I didn't really know a lot about their relationship.
I didn't know why they broke up.
I knew that they had broken up.
I knew that he started like his, I didn't know like he had a podcast or anything.
And so, but my team was like, you got to do this podcast.
And so I started researching him.
and he's like really, really good at what he does.
So I was very excited to go on his podcast.
But I also was like, how much are we going to really have to talk about?
We vibe.
Yeah.
He's a great person to vibe with.
He probably has a lot of best friends too.
I thought you would do great on his podcast.
I didn't know what we would talk about on our version, like when you and I kind of interviewed him.
We have a lot of like similarities.
Yeah, I think that we dug deep.
I bet we interviewed him in a way that he hasn't been interviewed before.
Yeah.
He actually like kind of prides himself on his podcast, if not.
talking about his personal life.
And then we were like,
we're like,
what's your eneagram?
How did you get sickler?
What was your child?
How did it feel when your friends made funny?
Did you want to be The Bachelor?
Like,
um,
yeah,
so I think that our,
I think our podcast went great.
And I like,
I think that we'll probably cross paths again.
I will say about him that he is probably
top three for me of well-trained
media people.
Like he is media trained to a T.
Yeah,
he should be doing some hosting gig.
for sure. Yeah, he, because he knew how to like twist any answer like, like, even if it was something
he didn't want to address, he was really good at like answering it without answering it.
You could just, yeah, I felt like, and I'm not saying it in a negative way. I feel like he was just
very, very good at navigating press interviews and media. I just feel, I feel like he was like
vulnerable and honest. To be honest. No, I'm not saying he wasn't. I'm not saying he wasn't. But I could tell,
you can tell when someone's been media trained and when they have.
haven't and I felt like he was very, very well trained.
Interesting.
I just thought he was like good at responding.
Yeah, maybe.
Huh.
I don't know.
I feel like we got a side of him nobody else got.
I agree.
He has also a very nice teeth.
Yes, he does.
Did you notice that?
Yeah, yeah.
Good teeth.
I can't talk about Terelloin's muscles.
I can't take about talking about Jason Tarting's teeth.
It's like, do you see it?
Are you like blind to all these things?
And I just, I guess they're men.
Yeah, I was like, yeah, he seems like a cool guy.
He's taller than I thought he would, but I would.
He was taller than I thought too.
Yeah, same, right?
Yeah, yeah.
For some reason, I thought he was shorter.
You know how else was taller than I thought he was going to be too for any summerhouse fans?
West.
So he was taller or shorter?
Taller.
Because he was hooked, hooking up with Sierra the whole season.
And I think Sierra is just really tall.
And West is actually probably six.
but maybe, which you wouldn't think if you watched the season.
He looks like the short guy.
Anyway, yeah, so we did the Jason podcast.
That was really great.
Divi launched in Ulta at Target.
Crazy.
Crazy because that was when I, when Divi had one skew, my goal was to get it at
Ulta by Target.
Does it feel like we're in Target?
I feel like you and I both have been stressed about so many other things that it, like,
the target, the fact that we're in Target kind of just like happened.
And we haven't really like high fived or celebrated about it.
Well, you know, these things take so long.
Like we knew this was happening months ago.
But it's just now actually happening.
So it doesn't feel like it happened because we've been working on it for like four or five months.
That's true.
You know?
It's true.
It's not like a moment.
Like it's like this has been like a process.
I think we should go to Cabo to kind of just like celebrate all these.
I think we should go to Target and look at it.
Okay.
And then go to Cabo.
Okay.
I can agree to that plan.
But all stores, all Ulta by targets.
It's a big deal.
Babe.
When I'm telling you, it's just wild.
It's wild.
You know what was the craziest thing to me, though, to be honest?
How Divy was number four on Prime Day.
That too.
Yeah.
WWD article.
That was big.
That one, Ulta by Target and WWD, like, were bucket list for me.
And they all happened in one week.
I know.
I feel nothing.
I have a problem.
I need to go skydiving to feel something.
I'm numb.
Or ride guardians of the galaxy.
Or ride guardians of the galaxy.
With what song?
With what song?
I want to take over the world by tears of fear.
Or everyone wants to rule the world.
Yeah, everyone wants to rule the world.
We should just put in that song, we'd be able jam.
Yeah, honestly.
And Cabo with Divi by Ulta.
Those are the two things that'll just really get your gears going.
Yeah.
Guardians of the Galaxy only hits like an eight for me.
Like skydiving hits like a nine.
I don't know.
It's going to hit 10.
You better not skydive too much because then a-
Well, I can't.
I'm pregnant.
Well, true.
But then you'll have to get into like those squirrel suits.
And then you don't have to get into paragliding.
And you don't have to get like free solo climbing.
I'd go paragliding.
And I would go free solo.
Just because your adrenal glands are just always in overdrive.
They're shot.
They should run.
study on me on how social media affects your brain long term because like they've run those studies
babe you're just you're ignoring the science no but like they should run it on me specifically
because i've been doing this since i was 19 which is basically a child so like i went through
childhood like my adolescence and adulthood with those stimulators that are probably like addicting
and harmful in so many ways yes and so they should run studies on my like what do you
call it adrenal glands or something.
Yeah, like, I think something, it's either adrenal glands or your dopamine receptors.
Yeah, we got problems there, I'm telling you.
Like, my best recommendation is to stay off your phone and don't go into this line of work.
You know who, I don't know why, but, you know, Justin Bieber's been golfing a lot.
So you think I should golf maybe?
No, what I'm saying about this is that I, I just feel like if you and Justin Bieber are in a room together,
I feel like I would have a lot to talk about.
I do too.
I really do.
I really feel that way.
I think that me and Justin, yeah, I think he, the only difference was he turned to hard drugs at one point and I didn't.
But if I would have, I would have like, I'd have a sleeve right now, you know, for sure.
Maybe one of those like bull nose rings.
Yeah, a bull nose ring.
Like, I would have done some permanent damage on my body for sure.
But I think that now you're at least acknowledging that you can't get the same highs.
No, I know.
So it's kind of like, like, I feel like you're in a, you're in a, I mean, even our conversation yesterday, you're kind of like, you know, like, what am I chasing? You know, it's kind of like I'm going to. Well, I'll tell you what my new dream is. Okay. I told this to remember yesterday. I would like to, well, there's like some things professionally that I would like to do. Like I would like to, you know, get into a place where I could take time to take a little bit of time off to write a book. Okay. And just to like. That'd be so good for you.
Yeah, like reflect, like, go spend some time on the mountains and write.
And like, you know, just do something I've never done before, like in that way,
which I think would be very healing and therapeutic for me.
And then also like maybe it would help people.
But then I want to.
It's like it's been like six months in your life.
I feel that, that, that.
My book is like, today I sat.
I'm not a hungry.
I eat bagel bite.
Danny happy now.
It's like the whole book.
But no.
And then, you know what I really want?
I want to have a tennis court in my backyard.
Okay.
And I want to have private lessons where somebody comes over to my house, like maybe every other day, and we hit the tennis ball.
Okay.
That's all I really want.
That's fine.
I mean, literally that's when I picture my life, I see that.
It's hard to do in Dallas.
You got to have a lot of land for that.
Can we move to the suburbs?
Not really.
Like,
Preston Hollow has some, like,
really big.
I was,
I started looking at some houses,
and a lot of the houses
have, like,
little pickleball courts and stuff.
They're really not.
It's like,
you just need to beg backyard.
Yeah.
Remember that one house we looked at that one time?
Yeah.
I always remember that house.
It was right off the highway
that was really loud.
Yeah, but no,
I mean,
you can move out to prosper.
Land is $250,000 for a plot of land.
And, like, it's like two acres.
It looks like.
Let's do it.
You can build a tennis square
on two acres.
You considered it last week.
Only so I can get my tennis court.
I know.
And then it would.
Do you really think you're going to be that unhappy being out of the city?
Cities suck.
Like, what do we have here?
Whole foods?
We don't even go there.
I know.
I know.
It's hard.
I think that we could definitely do it.
But I think that there would be things about the city that we would miss.
Such as?
Our friends being close to restaurants,
trendy restaurants, being close to the mall, go to the movie theater.
Okay.
Movie theater, they got these in the suburbs.
Babe, I'm sorry.
When's the last time we went to a restaurant?
Oh, you got me there.
Truly.
Oh, you're still right.
You love R&D Kitchen.
When is the last time we went there?
Oh, you're right.
It's been like six months.
That's what I'm saying.
Maybe I just need my tennis court.
That's what I'm saying.
Okay.
Honestly, we can put in a water slide out there too.
Yeah.
I just want to write a book and play some tennis, I think, is what I really want.
Okay, well, let's get you away from the highways in the city.
Let's move you on to four acres.
And let's let's let you write a book.
I'll even, we'll build you a little nook.
Babe, it's definitely a goal.
We'll see how it goes.
Okay.
Speaking of work, I want to transition to our next segment where we're going to be doing
a little bit of behind the screen influencer breakdown.
It's time for things that make you go, hmm.
I want to talk about what.
everyone on their phones has been seeing lately. It is the big sales. You got Amazon Prime Day and
Nordstrom. It's been a busy week around here between the Northsham anniversary sale and Prime Day.
We've been going nonstop. But it got me thinking a lot of people probably don't understand why
some influencers push so hard for Prime Day or the end sale. I thought it'd be interesting to give
some insight into why these are so big in the influencing world and the work that goes into them.
It is really interesting because I think it has changed a lot.
But back in my day, back in 2015, 2016, funny thing is, is the Northstrom anniversary sale,
they didn't have Prime Day at the time, I don't believe, the Northstrom anniversary sale
would, for most, like, bloggers on average, it would cover maybe 80% of their yearly
income, annual income, was just this one sale. Like, you could have 200,000 followers on Instagram
and be bringing in six figures alone from the North Stream anniversary sale, which is wild
because it's about, I think at the time, it was like a two-week sale. So you would see this,
like, and it was kind of like the secret thing, like, because you're like, why are all these people
covering this one sale? But then you would get into it because someone would tell you,
It's kind of like an MLM.
It's like, come join me.
Like, I made, you know, $30,000 pushing this one product.
And then you're like, dang, like, I should get into that.
And so if you were lucky enough to be invited into the club and, like, you knew that it was profitable.
And if you did it the right way, like, you were going to be successful too.
I remember my first end sale, Brighton Keller got me into it who I lived with at the time.
And she was like the pro.
Like, this girl treated the end sale like it was.
Super Bowl.
Super Bowl. It was Super Bowl. It was finals. It was everything because it was it was it was a big deal. And, you know, at the time, I'm making not a lot from blogging. Like my conversion rate is so low. Nobody cares what I look like in my clothes. Like it, it was hard. I was I was also thinking about at the time quitting and starting in like applying for reward style to work in their like influencer program. And then. Can you imagine? I know. That's why I always say like,
Brighton Keller changed my life.
Like, without her, I would be on a completely different path.
Her and Janine, to be honest.
And so, so I decided to do the end sale with Brighton and learn so much about it.
I think the hardest thing for me, those early days, was the investment on the front end
because you would have to buy so many clothes.
And like there have been years where I've invested 20 grand into the clothes.
And to me, I'm also like, I've shopped Nordstrom my entire life.
Like I grew up and I always told people my first word was Nordstrom.
Like my mom would take me to Nordstrom every single week and we love shopping Nordstrom.
It was like our Neiman Marcus, you know.
And so this sale was like very organic for me.
But to be honest, I never spent enough to even qualify to be like icon or ambassador status or whatever.
So a lot of times you would just go in the store, try things on, take pictures, post it.
And then I couldn't even buy it until my tier came out.
And, but, like, people would invest, you know, tens of thousands of dollars into their inventory because they're making six times what they're investing.
And so, so yeah, and then you would just push the product for two weeks.
Now, this was before Amazon Prime.
This was before brand deals were as big as they are now, as legitimate as, like, now there's so many brands that their conversion rates.
Because, like, also at the time, Nordstrom, I think was 15% commitment.
which is huge.
They're not that anymore.
So then there was like this one year where a lot of people stopped pushing it.
And it was so funny because everybody was like, I'm not pushing it anymore because
and they like try to take this like prideful stance.
And it's like, dude, they're not pushing it because there's only like 10% commission now.
Yeah.
It was just so like people.
But they made it about like we're just like trying to stamp down on consumerism.
Yeah.
And it's like, dude.
Like what's off.
And incentives drive the world, baby girl.
And Nordstrom went from 15 to 10.
And don't you take this moral high ground with me.
But all of us, like, no, like, you're, dude, you're not pushing it because you're just not making as much anymore.
Anyway, I kept pushing it because I genuinely, like, to me, it's like tradition.
And, like, I probably will push it every year because it's just something like, yeah, for me, I'm not going to lie.
It's not doing as well as it was three years ago, four years ago.
But like, I don't care because it's just like something that I do, you know?
And, and we still like, like, at the time, I remember when we were like dating slash just,
married, we pulled on Niders. Every time the Northam anniversary sale came around, we were putting together
30 outfits a night and posting on blog. We were posting links on Snapchat and YouTube. And YouTube.
And, um, but I remember the first sale I pushed. I was like, Dome. I was like, you're right. Like,
this is my income for the year. And I never had conversion like that before. And so it was something that we
always kind of looked forward to. Then you had Amazon Prime come out. And now that's kind of,
kind of like everybody's go-to.
And it's also like, if that's what your platform is,
you're helping people find sales,
then you better just do it well.
And so that's why you see everyone pushing these sales now
because they're making like insane commission off of it.
And I think now the industries and consumers are smart enough to know that that's why, right?
Before they didn't, they were like, why is everyone posting about Nordstrom?
But now they know that it's a big part of bloggers income.
No, everybody knows, but I don't think they know, like, how much.
Right.
I don't think that they know that Amazon Prime Day could bring in 200,000 for a blogger.
Like, what I'm always confused by is all these, like, TikTokers that are not pushing the Nord from sale.
I know.
I know.
I don't think they know.
It's like a secret little society of like.
Well, they know now, but.
Yeah.
And I'm telling everyone.
You know what's so funny about the TikTokers right now that are like, that have Instagram followings.
is I feel like they're going through this trend right now that we went through where all of them are now starting to, because they were like normal people.
Like they were just like, most of we all.
But no, what I mean is like they had like probably nine to five jobs and they, they blew up on TikTok, right?
And I feel like the TikTokers are in this phase now where they're worried about over linking.
Because you can tell they're very like.
No, sorry, on Instagram.
Like I can see like by the way that they're like doing their.
Instagram stories and linking on Instagram stories. Some of them are like, hey guys, like the Nordstrom
sales is going on. I don't want to like overload you with links. So here's two links, you know, type of thing.
And because their audience is not like, you remember when we went through that season where our audience
would get really mad when we went from like just entertainment to being like, hey, this has to,
this is like our livelihood. Like we have to link. And so if you did too many links, people would get
really mad. And so then it was like the artfulness of like how many links do you do?
I see this like trend right now happening with these TikTokers that are coming over to Instagram.
First of all, I feel like they're traveling a lot more.
Yeah.
And they're going through that season probably where their DMs are like, oh my gosh,
like you used to be so relatable.
Like now you're not relatable anymore.
And then I also feel like they're trying to kind of get into the affiliate world,
but they're scared of like, you know, messing up their audience that's used to just simply
like being entertained by them.
And they're, I can just like feel.
I can feel the tension that they are probably feeling with their DMs and like what they're trying to do to like grow their business.
Yeah.
And it is so the path that we had to walk to.
Yeah.
Our whole niche to be clear.
Yeah.
It's just so different for us now though because to be honest, anything I make with commission is not really like structured.
Like I just share links because I want to share the links.
Right.
It used to be built into like my projections.
Like it was like, you have to link this much to sell.
this much to make this much. Now we rely so much on like so many things outside. We have royalties
with a lot of our products that I've pushed for their brands. We have brand deals. We have
investments like into businesses outside of like influencing. So now I don't really have to link a lot
of things. If I'm doing the North Carolina anniversary trail, it's solely because it's like for me,
it's like a thing. It's like tradition. Like I'm and I want to be good at it to be honest. I want to be like
the best when it comes to linking the best Amazon. Like it's more.
like competitiveness than it is like part of the brand.
Well, no.
And I think we've been so open about the industry and how it works that now it's kind of
just like, this is what we do.
Yeah, we've been in.
But before, when we didn't talk about the business side.
Because we needed those freaking links.
We needed the links.
It was such a navigation.
And I like, again, like I see so many of these couples specifically on TikTok.
They're like, guys, we're moving.
Like they're moving so much.
And like you can tell they're probably trying to diversify.
into real estate, but they're trying to wrap it in this pretty bow of like, oh, well,
we bought this for our parents.
You remember this happened in our niche too.
And everyone was like, ah, like, I don't know how to navigate.
Have you noticed we're the only ones that have, like, lived in our house as long as we have?
If you look at, like, all the other, like, monologgers.
That's true.
We've lived in our house, like, the longest.
Everybody's, like, moved, like, two or three times.
That's true.
You know?
Yeah.
Look at us.
Look at us.
I don't know what that means about it.
We're so relatable.
We haven't moved in five years.
We didn't believe it?
No, it's funny because I want to move.
So it's like,
anyway.
Why do you think that the mommy bloggers,
let's call them TikTokers and mommy bloggers?
Why do you think the mommy bloggers link so much more than the TikTokers?
Because there's, yeah, there's different types of influencers.
So you have people that,
push sales, try on halls, products, deals.
Like I think of Allie Hunter.
Like she is an Amazon girl and she finds the best deals for you.
Like that is her niche.
And people don't really know a lot about her personally.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then you have people that are like strictly lifestyle or storytelling and they're
just there for entertainment, funny videos.
For me, it's always like finding the balance in between.
More so because I want to be all things for all people.
which is a struggle.
But to me personally, like what I love about what I do is probably more of the entertainment
storytelling.
But there wasn't a way to pay the bills when I started telling those stories.
So I would have to link, it's different now, but I would have to link like what I was
wearing when I was doing that in order to make the day to monetize the story.
Yeah, it's kind of like, you know, if you're vlogging or you're telling you're telling,
a story, think about it like a reality TV show. Like a reality TV show has commercial breaks. So
like your links or your brand deals are your commercial breaks that monetize the reality TV show.
The story. And it allows for you to continue living a lifestyle that people want to follow so that
you can like not have to work in nine to five. It's just the way that it works. I think that these
TikTokers are, I think that from a business side, a lot of brand money,
into just paying them for TikToks, right?
But I do not think it converts.
And so in this market, you know, brands are really looking for I need ROI on my.
I think it just depends on TikTok.
Huh?
I think it depends on the person.
And I think that you just like can't track it as easily.
But you and I both know that the most conversion is going to come out of Instagram stories.
Yes, yes, yes.
Yeah.
But I do think that TikTok converts.
You just can't track it.
True. Yeah, I definitely do. But I was talking to Jason Tardick about this in our podcast episode because he's such an ROI guy and he's always like, how do you know how much to it? Because you hear of Mr. Bees who invest $2 million into a video and he's like, it made me nothing. Like, and he's like, Jason was like, I have the hardest time with that concept because every dollar needs to like have ROI and it makes sense. And I feel like I really more to Mr. Bees.
when it comes to creating content.
Not that I'm going to spend $2 million on a video,
but like a lot of the things that we have done,
whether it's a giveaway or the talent show that we did
or the April Fool's joke that we invested in
or the matchmaker that we did for Lainan.
And like a lot of those,
like the matchmaker we probably invested like $50,000 into.
And we don't see it down.
We didn't have a sponsor for that.
No.
That's just like.
Magi Annas.
We almost took on Mahjianas.
Oh, we almost did.
We always did.
Majianos like reached out.
We took it on almost as a joke, though, because that's where Layman took the third day.
And they were like going to pay like a thousand dollars or something.
No, they were straight up like, we'll give him a free dinner.
Oh, that's right.
That's right.
That's right.
We should do this just because it's funny.
It's funny.
And to make it seem like we had sponsors, but we really didn't.
That was right.
We just got a free meal.
That's so funny.
Yeah.
And so it's, we've done a lot of things like that where like it's, it's hard to measure exactly like your
entertainment value or.
like, are you measuring it through views? Are you measuring it through like how engaged the audience is?
Like, I don't even know. I told Jason, I was like, to be honest with you, it's probably the same thing as what Messerbiz feels.
It's like a feeling. It is a feeling. It's like a feeling of like creating something really cool and then like getting people excited about it and knowing that they want to come back for more entertainment.
Like that's the only way to measure it. And I don't even know how to measure that.
Yeah, I think for us, it's more of a thrill of the originality and the innovation of the ideas.
100%.
Like there's been, people don't know this, but like, like, you know, when you're running Divi,
divy has a set marketing budget.
And there have been, I think almost for every campaign launch.
We put money into it ourselves.
Every campaign launch, they're like, here's Danny, here's your budget to.
And we're like, that's not going to work.
And so we will front our own money just to make the idea and the launch what we want it to be.
We fronted a lot of our money for our, he was actually.
asking me like, what's the craziest amount you've probably spent on like a stunt?
Talent show, 100%.
How much do we spend on that?
I don't remember.
I, it's either.
How much did we give away?
20,000?
50,000?
I think we gave away 25,000.
25,000.
It's either that or Cabo.
I was going to say, I think we spent over six figures for Cabo.
We, for sure did.
Or 100,000.
And that one's tricky because, like, that was when, you know, we weren't like budgeting for
debuts.
Like, all right.
Like, we're like, let's run this like we run our influencer business.
Like, we'll put this out.
It was literally on the team for Divi, me and you.
No, yeah.
Well, we brought the Danny Austin team to run.
And it was our first influencer trip.
And we didn't actually invite influencers.
We invited our audience.
So it's not like we were getting the ROI with like posts either.
No, it was like, it was like, hey.
A hundred thousand dollar trip.
Yeah, we were like, hey, we want to invite customers.
We loved the heart of the story.
We loved the the originality of it.
And we're like, hey, we're going to gamble 100K and hope that this like drives brand awareness for Divi.
But you never know if it does.
You never know.
It's a feeling.
Yeah.
It's fun.
It's fun.
Maybe we honestly, like, we should, we should start gambling more again with like bigger ideas.
Yeah, I know.
It's just like, honestly, it's like the pregnancy and like, you know, the softball game.
It's like all these things.
But like, I think second trimester.
This is a good exercise.
If you had $150,000 right now.
for a divvy campaign, what would you do?
Well, I have to be honest, okay?
Like, because you know, I'm always honest.
We've never done anything with influencers before, like big.
So I would be curious to see, like,
if we did something more traditional with, like, a traditional influencer.
Which one?
Alex Earl.
I know.
I feel like she's your, like, queen.
It's like, until we get Alex Earl involved in Divi,
it's like you will not feel like the, the,
I know.
Or Olivia Colpo.
But I think Alex Earl more so.
I like her too.
Or Sophia Ritchie.
Really?
Yeah, like I want to go like, just so I can check all my boxes.
And then I'll start doing the things that like actually fill up my soul again because I know this is not going to make me happy.
But I just want to be able to do it.
Like I want to be able to be like, we did it.
Because we've never really done anything like that before.
You know, you have all these brands during like really cool activations and all these things.
and like, everything we've done has been so, like, soulful.
I want to do something sexy.
Yeah, yeah.
No, I get it.
Like, I feel like everything we do is, like, so much more about the heart, which is, like,
so sweet and everything.
But, like, don't you want to do something sexy?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like, you know, like, sponsor, like a really cool event or, like.
I feel like we've done some, like, cool, like, billboards, no?
Babe, it was me on the billboard.
I want to put Sophia Ritchie on the billboard.
It was Bryce Wharton.
Oh, yeah.
We did that.
That was so sweet though.
He cried when he saw it.
Yeah, it was sweet.
You know what I mean?
Like we've done a lot of storytelling.
I want a sexy moment.
Kylie Jenner.
Yes.
That's what I'm talking about.
Kylie Jenner.
That's just like.
That's just like.
That's just like.
I want to try and see what that does because we've never really done that before.
But then you know, we'll always keep the heart because that's just where it is.
But like yeah, I need a, I need a sex appeal.
Yeah, yeah, I get it.
Okay.
Good to know.
Maybe we should carve out like a like a like a Danny.
Jordan divvy fund budget.
And we just like do whatever we want with a million dollars.
Where are we going to get that from, babe?
I don't know.
I know where we're going to.
Our ads on our podcast, speaking of which.
Which we will be honest, are not generating a million dollars.
But hey, okay.
People are probably like, oh my gosh, they're making so much money from the podcast.
And let me just tell you, no.
We are investing.
This is a passion project.
This is a passion project that is very therapeutic for us, but this is not carrying the P&L whatsoever.
Podcasting is interesting.
There's not a lot of money in it, that's for sure.
No.
But honestly, it's one of my favorite things that we do.
And now that we don't fight so much or we're not so nervous to film, I feel like it's like really good for us.
Yeah.
But not that we were fighting a lot.
We were fighting because of the podcast because we couldn't figure out our rhythm.
Right.
But now it's so much easier.
Well, yeah. See, don't you love when we try new things and we get better?
Yeah.
Kind of like the LV softball game.
Babe, I try things that are new.
I know. I know. I just don't like when people say you shouldn't play in the game.
What I'm trying to get you to acknowledge is that when you say yes to hard things, there are repercussions that we all feel around you.
Okay.
So just a little bit of sensitivity and maybe empathy around that.
Fair.
Like I lost my wife for essentially two weeks.
It's fair.
and I apologize.
It's okay.
As long as you're feeling accomplished,
did it do anything to your adrenal glands?
I felt something.
Did it give you a rush?
I felt something when I hit that second ball.
I bet it was so momentary though.
I told those little haters.
I was like,
oh, this is for all the pregnant people out there,
you little haters.
Yeah, I can go to bed.
I went to bed peacefully that night, for sure.
I honestly felt bad for my haters.
I was like, I know you guys wanted me to fail
and I know that you can't go to bed.
bed tonight, but I can. That's exactly. And that's all I wanted. That's all I wanted.
Those, those, you kept five people who hate you. And I'm, yeah, up at night. At night.
And you know what? And I'm just, I'm sorry that you couldn't sleep.
Mm-hmm. Anyway, one of my favorite kids brands is, Haya.
Haya's like, can you maybe like not put our ad placement next to such negative conversations?
Such animosity.
One of my favorite kids brands is Haya.
The pediatrician approved superpowered chewable vitamin.
The founders are dads who were shocked to learn that ingredients were in most, learn what ingredients were in most children's vitamins.
They spent three years curating top pediatricians, nutritionists, scientists, and parents to formulate a superpowered chewable made with 15 essential vitamins and minerals.
while also including a blend of 12 fruits and veggies.
The result is higher, a daily children's vitamin that's supercharged to help fill in the gaps
and always with zero added sugar and zero gummy junk,
so you can be confident your kids are getting the full body nourishment they need to grow into healthy adults.
They now offer a kid's daily multivitamin, a kid's daily probiotic,
and a kid's bedtime,
I love knowing that when I give those to Stella and Stratton,
there aren't those terrible ingredients in there that actually end up doing more harm than good.
I'm also a sucker for good packaging and Haya's branding is super cute and fun for the kiddos.
You get these cool bottles plus stickers with your first order and they send you eco-friendly
refills every month. Also, what's really fun is Stella and Stratton think that these are candies.
So you can also bribe your kids with vitamins, which is a really fun thing to do.
Of course, I have a code for you.
I'll receive 50% off your first order to claim this deal.
You must go to HayaHealth.com slash Janie Austin.
This deal is not available on their regular website.
Go to H-I-Y-A-H-E-A-L-T-H-T-H-C-C-T-H-C-C-N-C-N-E-A-L-T-H-E-A-L-T-H-E-A-L-T-E-E-L-T-E-E-E-E-L-E-E-E-E-T-E-E-E-E-E-T-E-E-E-T-E-E-E. This is what we've been trying to say.
Topic number two, what to expect when you're expecting.
I want to briefly go over this topic because,
I think this would make you definitely go, hmm.
But now that my first trimester symptoms have somewhat ease, to be honest, I still get really nauseous.
I still have really crazy food aversions.
What did I get up and eat last night?
I actually don't know.
You don't know?
No, in bed.
Pickles?
I got up and ate pickles.
I know.
I thought I smelled pickles.
Doesn't that mean it's a boy?
I don't know.
But like I was laying in bed and like, you know me.
Like, once I brush my teeth, I am not eating.
I could not stop thinking about pickles.
Yeah.
So I got up and ate all the pickles in our fridge, every single one of them.
And then Cheetos, yes, you're right.
Such a weird.
I know.
I wanted to go through some of the things women experience when they're pregnant and get your reaction.
There's actually a person on TikTok who has just been making a list of these things
and nobody talks about that happens to you whenever you're pregnant.
And I'm going to go through them.
I want you to react to them and see if you even know what they are.
Lightning Crotch.
I don't know what that is.
Oh, it's exactly.
exactly what it sounds like lightning in your crotch.
Itchy?
No, no, no, no.
It is like a sharp shooting pain in your crotch.
It's like from things moving around.
But let me tell you what I haven't been experiencing the lightning crotch.
That usually comes towards the end.
And it is shocking.
Like you'll just be sitting there and you're like, oh.
Like it's like it's like sharp acute pain.
Yes, it's lightning in your crotch.
Yeah, it's not fun.
But let me tell you what I've been experiencing is round,
ligament pains.
Round ligament.
So that's these like ligaments like here, I guess.
I'm just making this up because it says it's not round ligament in the name of it.
But they are insane cramps.
Remember I got up the other night and I was like, oh, oh, that was a round ligament cramp.
It's just like everything stretching out and pushing.
Oh.
Yeah.
I know.
Should we switch off of things like I'm going?
I'm kidding.
I'm kidding.
People would.
I'm just.
That was for my haters.
That was just to give them some fodder.
You're so funny, babe.
Let's see.
Okay, feet size growing and hand swelling.
Your feet grow.
Yes.
They swell or they grow in length?
Like you're wearing like...
Both, both.
You go from like a 10 to 11.
First of all, I'm not a size 10, babe.
Well, that's my size, but I don't know what you know.
Yes.
Like, your feet swell up and a lot of times they don't go back to normal.
One of the many joys of pregnancy.
Oh, bleeding gums.
Have you noticed that about my gums?
I think that was your first pregnancy.
No, it happens every time I brush my teeth now.
You should floss more.
It's always this one.
No, it's like a pregnancy symptom.
They just bleed like nonstop.
And they will bleed until you're actually give birth.
And then they like immediately stop.
But that happened with my first.
It didn't happen with Stratton.
But yeah, I have really bad bleeding gums right now.
Skin tags, I don't really get those.
They look like they're like they're like 3D 40 freckles.
Right?
I don't really have those.
Is that this is maybe off topic has nothing to do with your pregnancy.
But I noticed that on your butt that that thing, that dent, it's getting a little better.
I don't think that has anything to do with my pregnancy.
I know it's not.
It's not.
No.
Man.
They actually feed my muscle whenever I got a steroid shot at my butt.
because they missed and it's just like so annoying because like as girls are already insecure about
our butts like you know and then it's like you'd go and do that to my booty and it's just not fair
it's not fair it's not right it's not right it's malpractice uh-huh we should sue um oh woman's sweat
turning their sheets bath in clothes blue that has not happened to me but i do sweat at night
but I haven't been like sweating as much as I did with my other pregnancies.
Cozy Earth, baby.
Cozy Earth and ate sleep.
I cured it.
I'm obsessed with.
Very expensive cure.
In my Sundays.
Don't look up the pricing.
Mallet Irvin's pajamas.
I've been wearing those every night.
Yeah.
I'm obsessed with those.
They're so cozy.
Metallic mouth.
I don't have that.
Do you don't stop's working?
I feel like it never worked for me.
Carpal tunnel.
No, just my hand hurts from the softball game.
The only other thing that,
I wanted to go through before we move on from this topic is I would like to go through everything
I ate yesterday.
All right.
So yesterday I woke up and I had, I went on walk with Ellie and then I was craving a bagel,
a jalapeno cheese bagel to be exact.
So I got that with smear and it was so good.
But the thing about bagels is they just made me hungrier.
Does that happen to you?
Yeah, it's empty calories.
I know, but it was so good, you know, in the moment.
I mean, the cream cheese is not.
great for you.
It's not great.
They put a lot on there too.
But I was just like, I'm telling you that Shugg's place, it's better than Bennings Bagels.
Did you door dash it or you went?
Oh, I door dashed it.
You know me.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And so I eat that and I'm like, oh, that was so good.
But like, I'm still hungry.
So, you know, I get in the fridge.
I start eating some lot of things.
I don't even really remember.
Yeah.
And then I'm on the way home and I'm like, I really want pot stickers because like the soy sauce is really like
acidic.
I crave like acidicy things.
So then I get pot stickers.
I eat that for lunch.
Then for dinner, I have mac and cheese because I'm really nauseous and it's like all I can really handle.
And then I get pickles and Cheetos.
That's, I mean, I think you probably hit all the major food groups.
I don't think so.
I think we just hit the bread.
The bread and noodles.
So anyway.
You know, you do you.
I'm trying to think if there's any other symptoms that.
Give that baby whatever he or she wants.
The symptom that I did not expect to have is I get freckles when I'm pregnant,
but I don't usually get freckles when I'm not.
Huh.
Mm-hmm.
Even if I wear sunscreen, I get a lot of freckles.
All my new freckles happen when I'm pregnant.
Do they go away?
No.
They're permanent.
Should I go get snipped?
Should we talk about that?
I mean, to be honest, I'm getting to that point in the pregnancy where I'm like,
you're over it?
No, I'm not over it by any means, but I'm like, oh, right, this is hard.
It's hard on you.
I remember that now.
You remember that phase we always go into?
You know, the amnesia sets in.
We're like, let's run it back.
Yeah.
And then we're like, this is so beautiful for like a week in London.
And then you're like, bleh.
We're like, oh, no.
Yeah, yeah.
I know.
It's just so hard.
You just give me the word.
It's just hard because it's like.
What if I did it secretly?
But what's what's hot, no, that would be horrible, but.
Yeah, that's unethical.
What would happen is it's like sad to give up like a lifetime of joy because you
suffer for six weeks or three months technically.
Year and a half.
Yeah.
Five years.
He's counting.
Her entire 30s.
Kind of all blurs together.
Yeah.
So I don't know.
Hmm.
Hmm.
We'll talk about the SNIP thing.
I guess I'll just wrap on one thing.
you know, you've, you've had a lot of business success these past two weeks.
What I think that you're craving is a trip to Cabo with the kids.
And I will say as a mother.
You're a mother?
Huh?
You said as a mother.
Like you were the mother.
No, as a mother, you.
You didn't finish up.
You're like, as a mother.
As a mother, you are able to really shut it down when you're with our kids.
Yeah, I can go hard to paint with real.
I feel like it's, that's the only area that you're really able to shut it down and relax is with when you're with our kids because you're like in that mode.
Yeah.
Isn't it interesting to you though that like you're such a fierce competitor and driver in your work?
But you're kind of like the cool fun mom.
I know.
I'm a push over.
Yeah.
It's, it's weird how like that switches.
Like I'm more strict, I think, on our kids than you are.
I know.
Do you think that?
I think I am.
I think you are too.
Yeah, I think I am.
So funny, I always thought I was to be like the strict mean mom.
Yeah.
I'm not at all.
No.
Stella was starting to fit this morning over the balloon.
I know, and I was like Stella, stop.
I know.
And I grabbed her.
I said, listen, I love you.
It's going to be okay.
I'm so sorry that you're upset.
I know.
But I did steal you that balloon.
And that does stink.
But I love you.
I didn't know that was you being a pushover.
I thought that that was like, oh, this is just like a female to female thing.
I know, but I just, yeah, I'm just not the mom I thought it would be when it comes to
the toughness I thought I was going to have.
But I think that's okay because I think that our kids need like a nurturing mom.
And I think you are that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like when they get hurt, they call out for mommy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I am.
I hurt probably more than that.
they hurt when I see them hurt.
Right.
It kills me.
Right.
Like, Stelling out, like, the smallest cut on her finger.
I literally, like, I got more hurt physically running up the stairs because I heard her crying.
And I, did you know when I ran up the stairs?
I fell?
Like, I was sprinting so fast because I heard that she started crying.
I sprinted up there and I fell, like, down the stairs.
And then I got up there and I'm like, what's going?
Like, my heart skips 10 beats.
Like, I can't even, it, like, kills me.
Like her little figure had like a little coat was bleeding.
I was like, we're going to the emergency room.
Do you, so is it, does it kind of like operate like that where it's like you, you swing really hard into like business for a week and then you want to swing back and you have like two weeks of just chilling with our kids?
Like how do you, how does that work in your mind?
I think when it comes to my kids, I probably just feel things I haven't felt in a long time.
Like this is just like love and enough and like I needed and wanted and like I have so much purpose.
I feel like even with you being sick it's been pretty balanced around here.
Do you feel that?
In what way?
Like I feel like you've been balanced with work and our kids and even you being sick.
I feel like everything's balanced right now.
Yeah.
I mean when your kids get older and they're like mommy like I want you to take me to a gym,
gymnastics and I want you to do this and I want you to do that. Like you can't be like, no. Like,
you can't be like, no, I'm busy. You're like, okay, I'm coming. And so also like they're just,
they're just little humans. Like you can't, it's not like having a baby anymore. It's like having a
true relationship with someone. And so it was like, pissed that I was going to take her gymnastics.
I know. And I knew. I knew. I came down and stairs and she like. Which last week,
She was totally cool.
She was like,
Daddy, take me.
But this week,
she just had in her mind
that Mommy was going to take her.
She got up from nap
and I saw her come down the stairs
and she looked at me.
She was,
like,
turned her head.
And I go,
she wants me.
And I took,
I like chased her.
I go,
Stella.
What's the matter?
And she goes,
hmm.
She goes, no.
I go, do you want me to take you to gymnastics?
And she goes,
mm-hmm,
mm-hmm.
Like,
it was so happy.
And so then I took her and all as well in the world.
What more can you want?
Okay.
Well,
good week.
What happened.
What happened?
Hopefully this time next week
we'll be floating in the pool in Cabo.
If not, we'll be here with you people.
Love you guys.
No, seriously.
I was going to say that you can now interact
with our podcast on Spotify
by leaving comments and not just reviews,
which is really fun.
Are the comments public?
All my haters are like,
yep, you kept me up after that softball game.
I was so upset.
No, but thank you guys for listening.
We really appreciate you guys
and we will talk to the next week.
Bye.
