Can you really have it all — the career, the family, the marriage, the dreams…all at the same time? This week, Dani and Jordan are diving into the new season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives..., from Taylor Frankie Paul’s ongoing chaos to Jen and Zac’s struggle to balance marriage, family, and big career ambitions. Dani and Jordan reflect on a season in their own marriage when Dani was considering reality TV and they didn’t always see eye-to-eye on what pursuing the next big opportunity could mean for their family. They get candid about ambition, motherhood, supporting your spouse’s dreams, and how you decide which opportunities are worth saying yes to in different seasons of life. Plus, Jordan takes us down a wild airplane rabbit hole, Dani shares an update on her new workout obsession, and they recap everything happening in their lives lately. Can you chase every dream and still protect what matters most? Let’s get into it. Thank you to our sponsors: Hiya Health: Receive 50% off your first order on any of their products. Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, welcome back to your favorite podcast. D influence. We were just talking about how disciplined I am. Yeah. What? Excuse me. Do you think you're disciplined? I think that when I make up my mind to do something, like if I do it, if I say I'm
Starting point is 00:00:17 going to do it, like I'll do it, but I just don't make up my mind that often. Right. Do you remember how I used to be late to everything? Early, early when we were dating? No, like probably like after I'd, like. after I had Stella. And like, but do you remember there was like one year, my New Year's resolution, I was like, I'm not going to be late anymore.
Starting point is 00:00:36 And I am never late anymore. I'm late to this podcast. But that's because I was like just letting you kind of take control, you know? But like if they were up to me, like if I was the one like responsible for getting us here, I consider like you responsible when we're together. They were always together. No, but that's not true. Okay, sure.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Like if I'm picking up the kids from school by myself or if I'm going to my workout, Like, I'm never late to anything. Yeah. Doctor's appointment. I'm always early. And, like, I remember I made that New Year's resolution and I've. You stuck to it. I stuck to it.
Starting point is 00:01:07 And now I'm working out. I work out every day. It doesn't matter if I, like, if I have to wake up at 4.30 to get there at 5. Yep. I will do it. If you put your mind to something, you will do it. But you're selective about what you put your mind to. It's, there's few and far between.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Right. And it's very, um, you never. know what it's going to be. Embroitery. It could be embroidery. Yeah. It could be making guacamole. Getting a massage every Friday.
Starting point is 00:01:40 Three weeks ago, you were like, you know what? I want to make you cassidias tonight. Yeah. It didn't happen. But we didn't fully set our mind to it because I said, you said you didn't want them. I didn't want them. I know. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:01:51 And you would have followed through and done it. Yeah. Yeah. My next thing I need to learn, I really want to learn how to make sourdough. See? And guess what? You're going to do it. I know.
Starting point is 00:02:02 You're going to do it. I know. The only thing is, like, ever since working out, like, I'm so tired all the time. Yeah. What? It's just, she also told me she was, like, really frustrated in the car and that she wanted French toasticks from Burger King. So there's, like. What's your point?
Starting point is 00:02:21 What do you think my point is? I'm just a girl. Yeah, you're just a girl. Just a girl living my life. You're just a girl. Yeah. So this is a fun week. We had, we announced our Divi launch, which is hairspray, not one, but two hairsprays.
Starting point is 00:02:37 We have softhold and stronghold hairspray launching on September 22nd with the queen herself, Brittany Mahomes. A lot of people wanted to know how this came together. Gosh, how did it come together? Well, Brittany's always been like a fan of Divi. and I feel like I've always like just known her through the through online and the great bud and the great find like we had a we have a mutual friend and um she's just always been like so amazing to work with and so um yeah I just I love her and so we um decided to do this launch
Starting point is 00:03:17 with her not only that but like she's so hard working she is super kind she's very down to earth even even though obviously her life is like chaotic or especially during the season. She's just a gal, you know? She's just like a girl. And everyone's just normal. Everyone's just a gal at heart. It's just a boy or girl. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:39 And she's like super sweet, super funny, really fun. I was like, like, she's just one of those people that like I would have been friends with if we were like went to the same college, you know? Yeah, for sure. And so, yeah, and she has. great bod great bod interesting
Starting point is 00:03:57 she's just like when you see her a person she's just like a very fit person inspiring you know genetics you know genetics no she works out
Starting point is 00:04:05 she's soccer player yeah I don't think it's I mean she probably is genetically less but I think she also like works out yeah a lot because I she like posts on her stories and stuff
Starting point is 00:04:14 um man when like moms are fit yeah it kind of gives us guys like no excuse right Like what you put your body through and then you bounce back.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Yeah. It's kind of like. It's like, if a guy's not in shape, it's like, dude, it's like, come on. Yeah. Come on. You know. Not only that, but like all of like the hormone shifts and like the food cravings and like all the stuff that we have. Like throughout the month too.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Like just like wanting chocolate around your period. Like it's just all over the place. It's crazy. Yeah. And so she has been like. so fun to work with. And so we have some more like press events coming up for that. So we'll be going to L.A., New York, Kansas City for like a glam suite with the wags.
Starting point is 00:05:05 What's wags stand for? Wives and girlfriends. Of athletes. Of athletes. Okay. So wouldn't that be like wagos? Wagos. Or wago?
Starting point is 00:05:15 Wives and girlfriends? It's probably wives and girlfriends. Yeah. Wags. Yeah. Wags. So like, and I'm a wag because I'm a wife. Yeah, but not of an athlete.
Starting point is 00:05:27 But that's sweet of you. You know what, Jordan, we're all just wags at heart, okay? We're just wax at heart. Yeah, so that's been really fun. And then what else has been going on? What else has been going on with you? Not much new. Do you want to tell everybody about your salt spray and your hair?
Starting point is 00:05:50 Yeah, how are we feeling about it? I don't like it. It makes your hair look like it's wet all the time. It was so obvious that like you like Googled like what, because like it was kind of like you looking at like a Vogue magazine or like a beauty magazine and being like and like reading the tip. And it's like for like textured wavy hair, get salt spray. See salt spray. No, I mean, everyone gives me so much shite all the time about this poof. Yeah, I can help you with it. You just don't listen. And so, no, I did listen. I asked Grog what to do.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Yes, Chachviti, how to say it. No, I don't use Chachviti. I use GROC for real-time information or clawed for everything else. You know why? You have to scrunch the product into your hair. Scrunch it. Don't blow dry it upward. I thought that's what I did, no?
Starting point is 00:06:43 Does it look a little bit more natural, though, less Mormon? No, it just looks wet. I mean, yeah, it looks like your hair is wet. Yeah, but it's not. I know, but it looks like that. So, okay, so you, so this is not working. What is working even mean? Working means that like people stop.
Starting point is 00:07:00 My whole identity isn't my hair anymore. Because everyone, that's all everyone talks about. You're Danny Austin's husband or you got a big poof. Like, that's it. I'm more complex and multifaceted than people give me credit for. Yeah, we'll experiment more with it. Okay, we? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:18 Okay, let's do it. You never listen to me. Well, I honestly, maybe Danny sometimes I just want to do something right and for you to be like, you did it right. Maybe that's what I want. I do a lot of things right, man. No, I know. But specifically this. Yeah, I get it. Or generally my body. Your body's great. No, I know. But that's why I show it to you a lot because I'm like, I'm looking for, I don't show it to anyone else. It's either mirror selfies to track my progress or you. And so there's, it's a lot. It's a lot. It's a lot. It's a lot. It's a lot. It's a lot. It's a very small circle of people that can give me affirmation on this body. Right, right, right, right. Right, okay.
Starting point is 00:07:58 I'm so excited for you to eventually come to my gym. I am. I'm pretty close. My foot, yeah, my foot. Oh, you know, you're telling what happened with your foot. It's so sad. Oh, yeah, I have a stress fracture. So sad.
Starting point is 00:08:11 And I've just been walking on it like, no, nothing's wrong because that's how tough I am. That's very not smart. I'm a survivor. That's how you need to be wearing your boots so that you can give your foot time to heal. Yeah, I have a stress fracture. See, he never listens to. I have to get a bone stimulator, which I don't know. It sounds like this crazy device.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Oh, so it is a device? Yeah, it's a device. And I think you put it on it and just like stimulates the bone because we need the bone to grow. That sounds a little honky donkey. Well, I mean, this place that I went to the orthopedic surgeon. Yeah. they had a lot of athletes on the wall. Oh, okay. Well, that's legit. I know. Because the wags, because of me.
Starting point is 00:08:57 No, I had a lot of athletes on the wall. And, you know, it was a little bit intimidating, to be honest, because you know that they've treated like, you know, people with actual injuries. Maybe it's a real act. No, no. I played it up. I was like, I was like, man, I was like lifting and like I dropped a weight on my foot. And so I fit in a little bit. But he said, I need to do a bone stimulator. And then he's going to put me on. osteoporosis medicine so that it grows my bone faster and then vitamin D with K2. Okay. Which so I should be fine.
Starting point is 00:09:33 How long did he say it would take? About a month. Yeah. Yeah, but you know, I'm gonna cut that by half. With your peptides? With my peptides and just my general fortitude, mental fortitude. Yeah. So I'll be at your gym soon.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Yeah. Yeah, so the gym I go to is, is like where a lot of people train for high rocks. And so there's a lot of, and like it's so crazy because the people that are training for high rocks are there for like three hours. Like they are there. Yeah. Now that makes sense because those people are fit. They're super fit. And so they have like there's like a whole section of the gym that's like this is like the high rocks training.
Starting point is 00:10:18 What do you do for three hours? I mean, you probably like lifts and then you do like an hour of cardio. Yeah, because they do cardio, bike riding, rowing. And the rowing cardio just takes longer, you know, to build that stamina. So it could take you like an hour to do. You know what I mean? Dude, that's crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:37 And the thing that I think is going to be really. Just got time for that. I know. Well, they go really early. Yeah. So if you think about it, if you start by like five, we start by six, you still have like the whole day. Mm-hmm. But I think what's going to really kill you at this gym is like, do you ever do like burpees?
Starting point is 00:10:54 Not willingly. Yeah. This is like the type of gym that like does burpees. Yeah. You know? And like jumps onto like blocks. But for how long? Like 30 seconds?
Starting point is 00:11:06 Yeah. Or like you do like 20 or something. Like it's like a number. Or you go for like a minute where every day is different. But it's like that type of gym. But it is crazy. Like I've been going for probably three weeks now. And I think yesterday was the first day that I was like, whoa, I actually did something.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Like I actually like fit in with the rest of the people because usually I like always bow out first because I'm like so out of shape that I can't do what everybody else is doing. Right. And yesterday was the first day that I was like, wait, I think I just did what everybody else did. You know. So is it intimidating or inspiring to be in group fitness like this? I don't know. I think it's like just, I think it's just like social, I would say. Like it's nice to see people.
Starting point is 00:11:53 But also you're not really talking to people, but you're just like around people. Right. And yeah, I would say it's definitely inspiring. Like some of the women there are jacked. Like it's definitely the reason I like this gym is like you can always look around and see like the type of body that like people are. It's the type of body that I would like. CrossFit gets a little too muskily for me. Not always, you know, but just like in general.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Sometimes it's like a little too much where I'm like, I still want to be like lean and I still really want to like do a lot of cardio and a lot of running. And I think CrossFit does do that. But this, this is just feels like maybe one step down from that. Yeah. You know. And so I would say it's like inspiring to see the other woman, the other mom's there.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Like I'm like, oh, if she can do it. And there's like all ages too. Right. So I'm like, okay, if there's like, I mean, I swear there's somebody that's like my dad's age that's like, doing burpees. And I'm like, that's so cool. Like, I want to be 60 years old doing burpees. Yeah. Wow. Well, I'm excited to try it. I know. It's such a culture. You know, like, I'm such a gym rat. You're such a gym rat. It goes for two weeks. I'm just like, you know, and like now I got all these supplements. Bridget gave me my boo basket. And that's so cute. She does boo baskets for everybody in her
Starting point is 00:13:10 life. What? She's just like so incredible, this Bridget of mine. Like, wow. She just like, has her ish together. Like this girl, she reminds you of Ellie. Like, they just have their ish together. They just wake up and they do stuff and then they just keep doing stuff the rest of the day. It's quite incredible.
Starting point is 00:13:32 And then they're like good moms, like thoughtful, always doing stuff for other people, cooking for other people, serving other people, planning parties for other people. And I'm just like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:13:41 I always have thought like, you know, who said it? It's like, Don't be the party planner, be the party goer. That's me. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 00:13:51 Yeah. You're a great gift giver though. Yeah, because like party planning is like exhausting. And like, yes, you get a lot out of it because it's so fun to like provide and serve for other people. But then do you though? Yeah. It's like, what do you really get out of that? Like to me, it's just a little stressful sometimes.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Don't get me wrong. I like to host people. But do I? You know? Well, I just like the fact that they come to my house and I have to get just to go to the earth. That's why I like it. No, for sure. I mean, I'm excited for us to start hosting.
Starting point is 00:14:23 And we were like the hosting couple in Dallas. I know. I mean, we would every, and it was really college football. I'm so bummed we don't have our house for a college football season. But you know why? It's because we're also like, you're like a planner. That's why. Like nobody else would invite us.
Starting point is 00:14:41 So we always were like, okay, come to our house. No, I know. And that's the, that's the challenge here is like, Everyone's kind of planners. And everybody's planners. And like everybody, like we're going to Emily's house tonight for dinner. Like usually that would be our house.
Starting point is 00:14:52 I know. So now like we're just, and we don't have a house to host right now. So we're kind of having to be like the party goers. No, I came here to drink from the well of Nashville. In the Bible studies, I just listen.
Starting point is 00:15:07 I take it all in. We're just here. Take, take, take. No, yeah. We were, I just, I'm filling my cup here.
Starting point is 00:15:14 And there will be a time where I pour, back out, but my cup's not full yet. Speaking of filling my cup. Yesterday, I had a wonderful day at the spa. You know, it was just a... For a birthday party? A normal Wednesday. Was yesterday Wednesday?
Starting point is 00:15:30 Yeah. Yeah, so I got invited to this birthday. Like, we went to this place called South Hall. It's like a beautiful hotel, kind of like, kind of, it's a, I don't know. It's like a spa hotel. It's like Blackberry Farm, but closer to Nashville. Closer to Nashville. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:44 And they have a beautiful spa there. And I was invited to do lunch. And then we all got massages and like just kind of enjoyed the spa. And I was like, this is the life. Like it's incredible. Like it's a Wednesday. And us moms are just out here. Just getting massages, eating lunch.
Starting point is 00:16:05 It was just wonderful. The only thing was it was like a 60 minute massage. And those are just such a tease. It's just like a warm up. You busy? No, I was reading this story I was going to share. Okay. I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 00:16:21 Okay. So, yeah, anyway, so I did that. What else have you been? Oh, speaking of weights. You want to get that one right there and show me what you got? Which one? There's a weight in that big black table. Oh, what is that?
Starting point is 00:16:36 That looks huge. That looks huge. 35. Yeah, 35. I went up to 15 today. That's big. That's a big jump. I was doing like the five.
Starting point is 00:16:44 The first day I got there. And then I went to the 7.5s. And then like the other day I went 12. And then today I went 15. I, and Taylor was Arm Day. Yeah. I was dying. There was a lady out there doing 40 and I was like, she was.
Starting point is 00:17:01 She was jacked. Yeah. She beat me up. She really would. What have you been learning this week? Anything? No. Really?
Starting point is 00:17:11 I mean, I've been watching the secret. Lives of Mormon Wives. Okay. Let me tell you about this. Okay, so a couple of things I've learned this week. So do you remember, you remember that DFW flight where the guy got duct taped? Yes. To the chair.
Starting point is 00:17:30 Yes. Okay. That was all over social media. It was all over social media. And also what was weird is, remember that one lady who was like, you're not real, like, you're a lizard or something? Yeah, she lived on our street. And she lived on our street. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:44 So it always feels to me like these things are like either you're mixing medications. She was mixing medications. Okay, she was. But it also like oddly feels like so like spiritual too to me. And I read this, I got this email newsletter from this guy that I followed. Well, should you tell people like what happened? They might not know. So yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:09 Okay. So basically this is what happened is there was a man named Lane Arthur Lundine. he was 67, totally normal guy. He was a Tucson real estate broker, not an author or anything like that. He worked for a normal company. And he was on this flight from Dallas to somewhere. And all we see on Twitter is that he's duct taped to the chair, zip tied, still is trying to break out of the zip ties.
Starting point is 00:18:37 So they have to duct tape them more. And they end up duct taping his whole head essentially. And he's still just like belligerent. He has like bloody cuts all over himself because he is trying to get out of this duct tape. And I think a lot of people at one point were holding him down and he was just going ballistic. Apparently, allegedly he was trying to strangle his, the guy next to him. The guy next to him. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:04 So the New York Times basically like writes a story about this. Okay. So this was crazy. He was sitting next to someone named. Let me see. Okay, he was sitting next to an author named Jonathan Kahn, C-A-H-N, who is a messianic rabbi and was writing a book called the altar of the Pergamon. So maybe this guy is just an anti-Semite? No.
Starting point is 00:19:36 So this guy starts a conversation. Normal, like he's the vice president of like real estate boards. So he's totally normal. He strikes up a conversation with Jonathan Kahn. And the way that it's documented in the New York Times article is Jonathan Kahn's like, hey, I didn't really want to talk, but I was like being kind. And so we get to talking and he's like, what do you do? And he's like, I'm actually a, I'm a messianic rabbi,
Starting point is 00:20:01 which means that he's a Jew for Jesus, essentially. Yeah. And so the other guy starts asking questions. And he's like, well, I'm actually working on a new book. it's called the author of the Pergamon. So the Pergamon is the altar of Zeus. That's what it's called. So it was like unarchived or unearthed in like 1857.
Starting point is 00:20:26 And this is what's crazy. The Germans buy it. Okay. And they set it up basically in Berlin. And Nazism kind of like takes off not around this museum, but like kind of. So you have like an idolatrous. statue to Zeus like a false god that's like known as evil it's it's referenced in revelation okay and this guy's writing a book about like just this weird history of this like idolatrous altar okay
Starting point is 00:20:56 and how it's connected to basically evil and Satan etc okay so he shows the guy Arthur Lundine he shows the guy the book cover okay of his book and he reads the title and he sees the altar on it. And that's when the guy starts going ballistic. So they didn't have any conversation or anything. No. Jonathan Kahn basically says it was like a normal conversation and it wasn't until he showed the book cover that the guy basically switched and just went totally shadow side dark mode. And he was like, this was a spiritual attack. He was like, this happens at every single book launch that I do. and it doesn't surprise me at all that this happened. He breaks the laptop.
Starting point is 00:21:43 There's pictures in this article. He breaks the laptop. And that's when he tries to start like hurting Jonathan Kahn. And is like spouting all of this stuff and, you know, not making sense. And it's just like total demon possession. Isn't that crazy? It says that he tried to bite them. Tried to bite them.
Starting point is 00:22:03 Witnesses said he became increasingly unruly, shouted profanities and racial slurs, including the N-word, struck a female passenger in the arm, and after police removed the strain, struck an officer in the chest. Con ended up putting him in a chokehold, and that's how they detained him. Lundy waved an attorney at his initial appearance, later reporting names attorney Smolkin, who declined to comment. Okay, Lundine said he drank two screwdrivers and doesn't remember what happened and said all he remembered was talking to his seatmate on the record He said, I don't remember any of what happened. I assaulted a police officer.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Is that what it says? I don't have my glasses. And oh my God, what a mess. He said he was traveling to help his daughters move and celebrate their birthday. He doesn't remember any of it. What? Did he have any medication? No, it doesn't say anything about medication.
Starting point is 00:22:58 But Jonathan in this article, he got fired. But basically, Jonathan in this article was talking to, Rob Greeter, I think, who's the newsletter that I read, who's a friend of Jonathan's. And Rob writes like kind of a counterpiece to the New York Times article. And he's like, the New York Times article refuses to acknowledge that like there's a deeply spiritual like component. Like this was like spiritual warfare tried and true. And Jonathan was like, yeah, like I'm used to this. Like it's so normal to me. And at the end of the day, what's so crazy is like, I hear more and more stories like this that's like just so blatantly spiritual warfare but it's just kind of brushed into
Starting point is 00:23:42 the rug as like a psychiatric episode or something like that like Lindsay like all yeah like Lindsay claims is like all we heard was that this guy went crazy on a plane I thought it was so fascinating like the actual story what happened behind it yeah that's crazy it's so crazy and I really want to get the I would love to have him on the podcast Arthur Lundine the guy or Jonathan con oh I should I should tell Haley then. All these obscure guests that you always are asking for. In late October, we have a hypnotist coming who basically converted to Christianity and basically said that what he was doing was like demonic.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Demonic. Yeah. What he was doing was demonic. So he's coming on. Wow. And then I have the dragon lady coming on. I don't know who that is. Well, someone who, she's like a Stanford professor who's like,
Starting point is 00:24:36 dragons were real. Oh. Yeah. I mean, that's not hard for me to believe. It's not hard for me to believe, but I thought it was an interesting story. Y'all, now that we're officially back in the school year routine, I feel like there are just so many things to keep up with as a parent. School drop-off, lunches, backpacks, activities, and then you get that dreaded call from the school nurse that somebody needs to come home. So one thing I love being able to keep really simple is our kids' vitamins, and we love Hyatt in our house. Their kids' daily multivitamin is made specifically with the nutritional gaps in kids diets in mind, which if you have a picky eater, you know.
Starting point is 00:25:10 It has a blend of 12 organic fruits and vegetables plus 15 essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin D, B12, vitamin C, zinc, and folate. And it's non-GMO, vegan, dairy-free, gelatin-free, and nut-free. And I love that it's actually fun for the kids. With your first online order, you get this cute reusable bottle and stickers they can decorate it with. And then high-Send-D refills every month, it's just one less thing I have to remember to reorder. And anything that gets my kids excited about something that's already part. part of our morning routine is such a one for me. They know exactly which bottle is theirs,

I feel like I'm always looking for shoes that are actually cute and on trend, but that I can also wear for the entire day without we're getting my decision three hours later. And lately I've been wearing Vionic. And the pair I'm loving right now is the Alameda Mary Jane Flats. They're so cute. They have this classic Mary Jane look with a square toe and adjustable strap and I feel like the style is everywhere right now. But the difference is these are so comfortable and y'all my days are all over the place. I go
Starting point is 00:26:57 from school drop off to running errands to a meeting to chasing kids around. And then Jordan and I actually might get a date night if we're lucky. So I love having a shoe that we're works with jeans in a sweater during the day but can still look really cute dressed up at night. The Alameda also has a biomechanically designed footbed, and every pair comes with two insoles so you can customize the comfort and fit. And that's really what sets Vionic apart. Starting point is 00:28:07 Like if I can look somewhat put together while basically wearing pajamas I am in, especially in the season of life where I'm getting four kids ready, doing school drop off, working, running around all day. I want to be comfortable, but I also don't necessarily want to look like I just rolled out of bed. And we have loved cozy earth for years. Their sheets have been a favorite in our house forever, so I already knew they understood comfort. Honestly, once you sleep in their sheets, it's very hard to go back.
Starting point is 00:28:30 But I recently got their first layer set, and I'm telling you, nothing compares to how comfy this set is. The first time I put it on, I was like, oh, okay, I get it. It's so soft and comfortable and smooth. There's nothing scratchy or stiff about it. And it's one of those sets that you put on thinking, I'm just going to wear this around the house tonight. And then suddenly you're still wearing it the next morning.
Starting point is 00:28:47 And I feel like everyone has that one outfit they immediately reach for when it comes out of laundry. This has become mine, especially going into fall. I love having a matching set that I just throw on. I feel cute in, but I'm still insanely comfortable. And I love that it stays comfortable without me feeling overheated. I can wear it while I'm getting the kids. It's ready, working around the house, lounging all night, traveling. This is just the kind of outfit that I live in.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Another thing I appreciate about Cozy Earth is that they really stand behind what they make. If you order something that the fit isn't right, they make exchanges easy. And their products are backed by a warranty against manufacturing defects. So if you've been wanting to try Cozy Earth, I feel like the first layer set is such a good place to start. HeadedcozyEarth.com and treat yourself to your first layer set. And this part matters. After you place your order, you'll see a quick survey asking how you heard. heard about cozy earth, please let them know that you heard about it here on Dinfluence.
Starting point is 00:29:38 That's how they know that I sent you, so don't skip it. I go to the gym pretty much every day and I actually really enjoy working out. But if I'm being real, there are definitely days when I go to the gym and I realize I don't actually have a plan. I'm just like, okay, what did I do yesterday? What am I doing today? And then you end up doing the same few exercises you always do because you know them. That's what I've really liked about the latter app.
Starting point is 00:29:58 It takes all the guesswork out of working out. You can get an actual strength training plan created by a certificate. coach and every week builds on the week before. So instead of just doing a bunch of random gym exercises, I know exactly what I'm supposed to be doing when I walk into the gym. And the part I really like is that it basically feels like having a personal trainer in your headphones. There's an in-year coaching that walks you through your sets, gives you reminders and cues and keeps you moving through the workout. Plus, it automatically keeps track of your weights, reps, and sets, which is a huge plus for me because I'm definitely not keeping a spreadsheet of that all by
Starting point is 00:30:33 myself. And there are plans for pretty much every strength training style, whether you're working out at home or in the gym. So if you're someone who wants to be more consistent or you're already showing up but feel like you could be a lot more intentional with your workouts, Ladder gives you that structure without having to figure it out all by yourself. Remove the guestwork with Ladder and get a real coach in your ear telling you exactly what to do for every workout. No thinking everything planned for you. If you have an iPhone, head to ladder.fit slash Danny and take a quick quiz to find your perfect ladder plan. Use my link and get a seven day free trial with no credit card and $10 off your first month if you join. You know who else is I think like really going through
Starting point is 00:31:14 it and I think it's some type of spiritual warfare is Taylor, Taylor Frankie Paul. Yeah, I haven't been keeping up with what's going on with her. So she, well, another thing is she like recently just failed another drug test like I think in like the past couple of weeks. So what what drugs? So if you watch the new season. I don't know for sure, obviously. But if you watch the new season, babe, she is out of her mind. Like, oh, seriously? Yeah. And, you know, we've met, we had Taylor, Frankie Paul, Michaela, and Macy on our podcast. And so we've met them all and they're like super normal. In fact, like, didn't, I think we both agreed that Taylor Freaky Paul was so real and like honest and was
Starting point is 00:32:03 like she was so much more self-aware than we thought. Right. The only problem with Taylor is that she has not grown like as a person or grown in her struggles like whatsoever. She just like lives in this chaos and this like horrible mental
Starting point is 00:32:23 state like she just and I think at a certain point people are like when is enough enough? Like we've championed you, we've supported you, we've defended you, and like now it's just kind of getting out of hand. So on this, on the last season, it's only five episodes because they had to stop filming because of everything that came out, you know, when that video came out and they had to cancel her season of The Bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Yeah. And so they left it as like a five-part series and it says to be continued. So like we don't know if there's going to be like another five episodes that come out for this season or if it's just going to try. jump to season six. But. So it's real. Like none of this feels staged with her?
Starting point is 00:33:06 No, babe. Like her mannerisms and like her eyes and like her, the way she's like moving, she looks like she's on drugs. Like just even the way her mouth is moving and the way that she's like communicating. Like it's so crazy how she's acting. Like there's like this one part where she's like in a hot tub with a guy and in New York who She's like snuck. She,
Starting point is 00:33:32 she does The Bachelor. She gets engaged to a guy named Doug. The day that she gets back to Utah, she sleeps with her baby daddy. Which one? Dakota. Dakota. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:44 She sleeps with Dakota while she's engaged to Doug. The day that she gets back from the Bachelor. Is Doug in the show? No. Because at this time, they're supposed to be like, you know, they did like go in secret and they can't be around each other. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:58 Because the show had still had not come out. And so she's like, Tita and Doug, her fiance, you know, that she's engaged to with her baby daddy. This is happening in the show? Yeah. Oh, my gosh. And then she basically just calls, like, pulls it off with Doug and is like, I don't think he actually, like, she just like wasn't taking it seriously. She wasn't taking any of the bachelor seriously. Like, she's immediately back in her toxic cycle.
Starting point is 00:34:22 It's like the day that she gets home. She sleeps with him like three times, like whenever, like she gets back. Yet she's going to everybody. talking about how Dakota is so abusive and Dakota is this and Dakota is that. And then she starts basically like all her friends are gathering around her like trying to help her. And she starts attacking them. So pushing just pushing everyone away. And but like as she's having these fights or as she's doing these things, so she brings in another guy named Ben.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Do you remember Ben from like? Yeah, that's the musician guy that she found on TikTok with the mustache. Yeah. So she's like technically engaged, I guess. She's cheating on her fiance with her baby daddy, Dakota. She's also texting Ben, who she brings back into her life, who she has to sneak around New York because he has to like hide in the hotel while she's out doing like all this press and all this stuff for Whitney Levitt,
Starting point is 00:35:19 who's on, you know, Chicago. And, you know, he's hiding for her and trying to like be a good. good like guy influence in her life and they're like one night they're like in the hot tub you know cuddling in a hot tub and she like drinks from like this the bathtub water sink like in new like everybody's just like you would have to be on drugs to do that like she's just acting weird and like I don't know and so there's just something going on there that's like really dark but of course that's what happened before she was her bachelorette season was canceled. And so if you follow her on social media, it does seem like she's had some type of
Starting point is 00:36:02 revelation or she's like kind of coming to. So this is all before that. That makes sense. But then what's a bummer is that apparently she just, she just failed a drug test like recently. Like that just came out like this past week. Dang. So she's probably like struggling with addiction. Maybe. I don't know like that that could be it or she looks like she's like just been drinking before every episode or something and I mean dude I would too it's horrible like I mean she's what she's going through is mentally it's gonna break it would break anyone yeah but you know I think that we all felt for her we all defended her but then you see what she does to herself throughout this season and you're like you have all the tools to get your ish together and like you're still choosing not to
Starting point is 00:36:53 Like you have so much grace that's been given to you like with your audience. You have friends that truly care about you yet you're pushing them away. You have like you just have all the resources you need to like get better and you're just still like stuck in this toxic pattern. Yeah. And making excuses. But that's why I think it's addiction. Yeah. So the thing that she says she's addicted to is like Dakota.
Starting point is 00:37:19 Her relationship with Dakota. She's like that is her drug. And Dakota is like, what's so annoying about the situation is like, you know, then they get mad at Shania who he like had he hooked up with Shania who was like one of, I guess, Taylor's friends. And it's always like, we're always getting mad at all the girls and we're always letting the guys get away with it. It's just so annoying. No, I mean, truly. I feel like that happens. Like so much.
Starting point is 00:37:44 And it's like, oh, the girls are slots. But he took bullets too. Yeah, but he's like still like friends with some of the guys and still. And then it's so. sad, but also is like all these girls like genuinely like need to get off of television and take care of themselves. Like they all need to go seek like extreme help. Like Jesse Draper, this whole season, her face is like so swollen and just looks so weird because she's on her like sixth, seventh plastic surgery on her face. Like she's just doing so much. And then like one of her boobs was like hemorrhaging or
Starting point is 00:38:22 something because of all the they're all getting like and just me like I've had something sent too but it's like it's like bad like it's like all the time obsession yeah and it's just like really unhealthy everything going on the only two healthy ones that are like trying to be you know just like good moms and prioritize their families are really just like Michaela and macy I feel like yeah and what about Jen um no oh my gosh she's she pissed me off the most. I mean, what she, I think Zach had his like redemption this season.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Because everybody hated him for you know, quote unquote, like not being supportive. But all these guys knew the train wreck was coming. Like behind the scenes like, but Zach was supported. Like he did give up med school. He moved. They said, I think he, they said that he moved
Starting point is 00:39:13 not, he's moved nine times in the past like year and a half or something for her. I don't know. I'm not dancing with the stars. Like, don't get me around. Like, I think that that was the right move. that supporting her dancing at the start so now she has all these other dreams where she wants to be a singer she wants to be an actress she wants to be like and she has just put herself as like the forever victim like she's just like always a victim in all of these situations and it's just kind of getting old because we did support her when she truly was like struggling with postpart
Starting point is 00:39:44 depression and she was like pursuing all these dreams and Zach was like not supportive and we're like that sucks like go for your dreams girlfriend like get your bag whatever and now it's like she's taking advantage of it and she's taking advantage of him like they both have kind of left the church and jack and jen they're not like in the church anymore they're like going off doing their own things yet she has this like conviction that she wants her husband to like become a priest so that he can um like bless his child i guess that's what they do in the Mormon church is like you feel like bless your child at like a certain like when they're babies and usually it's done like the father has to go and like garner like priesthood from the church or something and they're obviously not even attending to
Starting point is 00:40:28 church so jen made uh an appointment with the bishop for him to basically go ask for it and he's like no like he's like you're the one that pushed me away from the church now you're wanting to push me back in to get like what you want he's like i don't even know where i am in my faith and like you're the one that led me here like and now you want no dude me to be a involved in the church. Justice for Zach. I'm telling you, I feel like he like knew.
Starting point is 00:40:51 He's like, all I've done is like support you. Like I take care of the kids for like four months. So whenever you're gone dancing with the stars. And all she's ever saying to him is like it's not enough. Like it's you're not supporting me here. You're not supporting me there. And like I get both.
Starting point is 00:41:03 I get both sides. Like I get how I think what she wants is for him to like because she did it. She tried out for like an acting role and she didn't get it. And you could tell that he was kind of happy that she didn't get it. like it wasn't like oh I'm sorry you'll get the next one like let's practice together I'll push you like you like you could tell that he was like happy because he probably just wants like a more normal life you know so like I saw that and I saw how he was like happy that she and it kind of annoyed me too like don't get me wrong because I was like I get what she wants like she really just wants him
Starting point is 00:41:39 to be like a hundred percent like behind her but it's like it's like not about the acting gig it's like about like where they're at in their lives overall. Like she's not being first and foremost, like the wife that he wants and the mom that he wants. And I think if she was being those things, then he would support the acting. You know what I mean? So it's like a chicken or egg thing? Kind of.
Starting point is 00:42:01 It's like because you're not being like the main thing that we need in our lives, then how are you going to be this other thing too? Well, don't you think though like, okay. So you see where she's coming from. But at the end of the day, if, like, he knows that, like, if you get this acting gig, it's probably going to break up our family. Like, I think he has the clarity that she doesn't have because no matter what she says, she's being selfish. Like, she's driving after what she wants in a framework that it's going to be impossible to raise, like, a good family. Right. And I think, so what he was most upset about was he said, okay, if you actually actually,
Starting point is 00:42:43 though the one thing I ask is that you don't like make out with other like men on camera or like no kissing and she was like Zach it's acting like it's not real dude I I hate to say it like she's gonna be really tough to be married to him so I think this isn't a partnership like she like literally to be married to him no I think that's what I think she like wants I think she's pushing him away because she wants to find something she wants something to blow up so much she wants to push him as far as she can so that he blows up and then they separate. Like she doesn't want to be with him. Dang.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Yeah. You don't think? No. Does anyone think that? Nobody, everybody, like, because she said stuff too, like on the season where she's like, so you don't think it's like she wants her cake and eat it too. You think she just wants to push him away? I think she like, I think what she wants.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Do you think she knows what she wants? Yeah, I think she wants, I think she's really jealous of Whitney. I think she wants to be famous. Like I think she wants to be a famous actress or a, she even talked about modeling. She talked about singing. She's talking about all these things. And it's like, dude, you're pregnant. I think with, I think it's her fourth child.
Starting point is 00:43:57 And it's like, not that you can't have those things. Like, and I like, trust me, like, I get it. I have dreams too. But ultimately, like, you have to take care of like your core, like your core, which is like your family, your kids and your husband. And then what else can fit into your bucket? it like go for it but like if you're not you say that now though but i think the reason you empathize with her is because you went through the same season i do empathize with her because it's like so much opportunity is like bringing abroad to her and it's like i know the feeling of like it's now or never can
Starting point is 00:44:29 y'all just get behind me for a second while i just go after this for like just give me a minute to just like try give it a shot and see what happens like you know and so i do empathize her with her in that way But like, I have to say, if I'm going to be honest, like, she had her shot. Like, she went on dancing with the stars and she didn't win. And to me, it was like a lot of things came from that, could have come from that. And they didn't. And so, like, I hate to break it to you. Like, it just wasn't enough.
Starting point is 00:45:03 Like, and right now, like, you're not 20 years old where you can just go and try again. Like, it's like everybody did support you. and like Whitney got something from it and you didn't. And like, I know it sucks, but like it is what it is. Yeah. I think that everybody wants like what Whitney and Connor have. Honestly, like I feel like, but the reason why I feel like it's working the way that it's working is because I feel like Whitney takes care of Connor. Like still.
Starting point is 00:45:32 No, she supports him a lot too. Yeah. Like I feel like and they also have very similar dreams. Like Zach is not like wanting to be like on Broadway. dancing with the stars. So that's like he like wanted to be a doctor. But like Whitney and Connor like both I feel like they're like partners in what they're doing together.
Starting point is 00:45:50 And so I feel like they both got after it and like works. And I think that Jen is jealous of that. And I could see that. Like I could get that like how it's like if I if I want something and you don't want it to that sucks. Right. You know. But I do feel like he did support her.
Starting point is 00:46:07 And it's just like, you know, thing really came from it. I guess she's getting some auditions, but like she didn't like make, she didn't nail any of them down. So it's like. I don't know why. It just feels like, um,
Starting point is 00:46:22 it feels like Whitney and Connor, even though they're grinding. I know they're grinding so hard. They're grinding harder than anyone. Genuinely. Genuinely. Like they're like, like,
Starting point is 00:46:33 apparently he got kicked off dancing with the stories last night. And she was like so mad for him. Right. Because she like really like she's been going above and beyond like trying to support him. And like every day she wears like a shirt that's like Connor Love it's life. Like she's like trying so hard to like put him on a pedestal and like respect him and like let him have his time. And it's so sweet. And I feel like you know, it's like I wonder how Jen could turn that around and be that support for Zach.
Starting point is 00:47:03 Well, I think that that's, I actually think that that's probably the issue is like that's why I think Jen is being selfish. because I think deep down he is feeling like this is literally all about you. Like yeah. And I'm supporting you and I'm doing all of these things. But like you are not you are not seeing like how selfish you're being. And you can't say that because if you say that, it's just going to be taken as defensive. He did say it and they. And then how does she take it horrible?
Starting point is 00:47:30 Probably. Well she's just like yeah, she's impenetrable. Like she can't. She can't see that yeah, that she's in the wrong. Think about how much anxiety. Like she went on dancing at the stars like so, what? She was like two months postpartum. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:46 And everybody's like, wow, this is amazing. And that's like, for me, I'm like, that's scary. So let me ask you this. Because like, you have to take the opportunity when it comes. Like, I don't blame her, you know. All right. This is your friendly reminder to do something that takes about 30 seconds, but is really easy to forget about.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Check your voter registration. And voter registration can very easily be one of those things that falls through the cracks. The official vote.gov and also advises voters to update their registration after an address or legal change.

Starting point is 00:49:23 As a parent, I feel like we're constantly trying to find that balance between keeping the kids entertained and not just handing them a screen every time we have five minutes. And with four kids, sometimes Dan and I just need. need them occupied long enough to make dinner, get something done around the house, or honestly, just finish a conversation. That's why I'm glad I discovered Yoto. That's why I'm glad I discovered Yoto, a screen-free audio player for kids, age 3 to 12 that brings stories, music, learning, and imagination together in one simple device. Kids just pop in an audio card and take the lead themselves. No cameras, no microphones, no ad, just their own imagination running the show. With more
Starting point is 00:50:03 than 1,300 audio cards, including stories in Spanish and French, there's something for every age and interest. That independence has probably been my favorite part. The kids can choose what they want to listen to and get it going themselves without needing us to find something or hit play every five minutes. We've used it for quiet time, in the car, and around bedtime, and they genuinely enjoy it. And I like that they can be listening for stories, music, science, dinosaurs, even practicing another language, and it still feels fun for them. The reason Yoto, has become such a big part of our routine. Isn't just because it's screen free.
Starting point is 00:50:38 It's because my kids genuinely love it. If you're looking for the gift, they'll actually use and enjoy. Head to yoto play.com. That's Y-O-T-O and use my code Danny to save 10% off all eligible items, terms apply. Add a little bit more imagination, a little less screen time to your family's day with Yoto.
Starting point is 00:50:59 Thank you, Yoto, for sponsoring this episode. Okay, after four babies, I feel like I've tried my fair. share of diapers. And one thing I care about so much now is what is actually sitting against my baby's skin all day long. Both Smith and Summit have sensitive skin, so having something that feels really soft and gentle is a big deal to me. That's one of the reasons I've been loving freestyle diapers. I really do love these diapers. They're amazing. The first thing you notice is how soft they are. They have this almost like cloud-like feel, but they still give you the performance you actually need from a diaper.
Starting point is 00:51:25 Their skin shield diapers have seven layers of skin protection design to help keep moisture away from your baby's skin. So they stay drier and more comfortable. They're also, EWG verified, total chlorine free and fragrance free, which gives me added confidence in what I'm putting on them every day. And I have to talk to you about the fit because they fit so well on my babies. They have this stretchy back panel that flexes and contours with their bodies and they feel secure without being stiff, especially with Summit constantly running around and Smith wiggling everywhere. I love that the diaper actually moves with them and doesn't leave a bunch of gaps around their legs or waist. And when you're changing as many diapers as we are around the house,
Starting point is 00:52:02 finding one that fits both of them. This well just makes life so much easier. I feel like the diapers are one of those things that you use every day, all day, and I don't want to have to choose between softness, thoughtfully chosen materials, a good fit, and actual performance. Freestyle really checks all those boxes for us. Head to Freestyle.org slash Danny and use the code Danny to get 30% off your first three months of a freestyle diaper subscription.
Starting point is 00:52:28 That brings your first three months down to just $49 a month. Again, that's freestyle. dot world slash Danny code Danny. That's a good deal. No, I feel like this was like what a year and a half ago for us. Yeah, maybe two maybe two years ago. Like that's why I like almost have a little bit of PTSD even like talking about this situation because I remember being in Zach's exact place and you being in Jen's exact place. With the reality TV show with the reality TV show specifically and you know you were kind of postpartum prepartum whatever season that was. in, you know, nothing in life really had a ton of clarity.
Starting point is 00:53:07 Everything was moving really fast, but in reality probably needed to slow down. Yeah. And I remember I was sort of a proponent at that time of like, hey, like, I don't see how all of this fits together. You know, like how do you do a reality TV show and we have three kids and you're pregnant and there's a lot of other things going on. Okay, to be fair, I just wanted to do the audition for it. No, I know.
Starting point is 00:53:30 And I think that men like know, like, know that. that going into a marriage of like the type of woman they marry like there are some women that are like I want to just be a stay at home mom and then with some men marry like working moms totally I feel like I've always been supportive no for sure I've and I've I feel like I've always been supportive of your dreams minus the reality TV show I was like right not with the show not with the not even not with the show it was like the uh the interview to even just like see what the show is about. Yeah, because honestly, I think that there was a time where I didn't trust,
Starting point is 00:54:10 I didn't trust your dreams. Like I actually thought that the path that you were driving down was going to lead to destruction for our family. And I feel like that's probably how Zach feels. And at a certain time, it's like when like, okay, like let's say I had some crazy dream. Okay. And I was like, hey, I want to go join the military. And I'm going to be deployed for six months or 12 months.
Starting point is 00:54:32 And, but you know, it's just a calling. It's what I feel like I have to do. Like that would radically change your life, you know, as my wife and like as the kids who have a father. And I think you would probably look at me and be like, hey, I want to support you, but like, I need to call you out. Like this doesn't make any sense. Like I'm trying to lead our family and like this doesn't, this doesn't add up.
Starting point is 00:54:58 I have a really bad discernment about this decision, right? And I feel like ultimately. now you would say like hey because we have such a big trust between each other you would listen to me totally different than you would have listened to me two years ago about wanting to join the military no even about the reality TV show oh yeah I feel like if we had the same conversations we had two years ago um and I approached them in the same ways like I feel like you and I would be much more on the same page right yeah because we're more aligned on the realities of life everything you just said to, you know, speaking into Jen's life, you were like, there's a bucket and you
Starting point is 00:55:37 have to take care of your core first and then you can fill things into the bucket. She's working through that and you had to work through that too, remember? Like, you didn't feel that way back then. You felt like, hey, no, it's all got to happen. And if there's a will, there's a way and damned to be to anyone who stands in my way or tries to prevent me from that. And I feel like that's what she's going through. It's not like that aggressive. It's just more about understanding. understanding like the way that this industry works, it's like all about the opportunity and the timing. Yes. And what I think. And like it, you have to admit it is true that after like when she was offered dancing at the stars, if she would have said no. Yeah. They would have moved on and never
Starting point is 00:56:16 talked about her again. No. She had been done. She'd been done. And like, she wouldn't be offered dancing with the stars three seasons later. And so like it's, it's all about kind of like, anybody in that industry would know that it's all about kind of riding the wave of like the opportunities that just kind of come up. And so, and I'm the first to understand that because like, like, I, that's how I built my YouTube channel was like I would, there would be times that, you know, whenever I was 20 years old, that someone would mention wanting to collaborate with me. And I would fly to their city just to be in the same city just in case they asked me to. Like, I just like knew how the opportunity worked. And then I would just text.
Starting point is 00:56:57 and then be like, oh, it's so funny. I'm actually visiting a friend in L.A. Like, I'm here now. Do you still want to? And sometimes it worked out and sometimes it didn't. Like you've done stuff like that too. 100%. Right.
Starting point is 00:57:07 And so when you start to have kids, though, obviously all of that changes. But no one knows until they figure it out and they have the time to figure it out. No one knows. Like where the, where, how much is too much? Yeah, for sure. And, and, and, but maybe, maybe Zach does know, right? And maybe Zach is watching his wife who's miserable and not happy and always sad and always the victim. And maybe he's like, Jen, like you are walking into your own destruction.
Starting point is 00:57:37 Right. And maybe he does know that. Right. And I feel like, um, well, it's easier to like say that when it's like not happening to you. When you're observing it, it's easier to be like. Right. Jen, this is crazy. But for her, she's like, you're the crazy one.
Starting point is 00:57:53 I have to do this. This is the only time I can do this. Yeah. And I think what he. knows is like Jen like you're chasing something and like what you think you want you are going to lose everything you actually want what's that line you love from the Odyssey you say it all the time it's like at the end of the movie I don't know it was basically like Odysseus was like you know we have a longing for something and what we realized was the longing that we have is for
Starting point is 00:58:20 exactly what we have right now and it's like that's I think what Jen is gambling with Like I think that she thinks she's going to be happier with, you know, the fame and the fortune and all that stuff. But, you know, it's like the tricky part about this industry is it's never enough. It's like you just want to keep climbing. And I think that that's why there's so many divorces in Hollywood is because you pick that shiny next thing no matter what. because the adrenaline of going that way and destroying everything here in the core, as you would call it, seems to be worth it.
Starting point is 00:58:59 But I would look at Jen and I'd be like, Jen, you're insane. Like, you've been on dancing with Desars. You had a great run. You're probably making good money. You will make money for good money for a while. Like, it's okay to just be a mom and be an influencer and be on a reality TV show. Yes. Like stop chasing Whitney, right?
Starting point is 00:59:19 Yeah. And I think that you're right. that there is a Whitney component to it because I think that- Oh no, they fought on the season. And it's like- It's pure jealousy. It's so obvious that she like, Whitney makes for sick because Whitney is living everything that she wanted.
Starting point is 00:59:33 Right. You know, and it's like, I mean, we've gone through the same thing where it's like when you're coming up in an industry with other people, you're constantly being like, what are they doing? Oh my gosh, they did this. And we've been there too, right? And you're chasing, you're kind of chasing a shadow because you think that you're chasing this other person's success,
Starting point is 00:59:52 but you don't even know what's going on in that other person's life. They could be miserable with the success. Yeah. You know, they could be miserable having to fly around and move to New York. And I guarantee you they're having a hard time being present with their kids. Oh, yeah. You know Whitney's struggling with that.
Starting point is 01:00:07 Whitney and Connor. Like, I mean, you know that they're struggling. And so it's like the grass is always greener type of thing. And Jen thinks that she knows what she wants. And maybe she does. maybe she doesn't want, I think what you said is probably true. Right now I think she doesn't want to be married to Zach
Starting point is 01:00:22 because Zach and family are holding her back from her dreams. Yeah. Like she better be damn right about her dreams. Or be like, make sure that you're good enough because. Right. That's, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:00:36 But my, I wouldn't put it past Zach to have some type of epiphany and be like, I'm tapping out. Like I've, I've stood by you. I've supported you. Like, you need to go figure yourself out because, like, I can't sit here.
Starting point is 01:00:54 Like, you're destroying me and our family in the process of your dreams. Yeah, I think that's like the one thing that really bothers me about mom talk is like how much they ate on dad talk. Because there's like this, there's like rivalry about like how the dads are always creating content or like trying to ride the waves. But they're probably doing it to try and like be like we can be Connors too. like they're probably trying to be like like I I'm just seeing the goodness and like those guys maybe they don't deserve it but like every husband generally wants to like please their wife and like happy wife happy life like well and what I was going to say is like I get there's like all this mom empowerment and I think it's like really sweet but like we all know that when it comes
Starting point is 01:01:39 to raising a family raising kids having a home it takes two to tango like it's a partnership. It's not just the moms going out and making all the money. And like even if, let's just say I got a million dollar brand deal today. Yeah. And I have to film, you know, this content for the next three days. You think I could do that by myself? Like whether I'm out filming in my bedroom all day, like somebody has to be out there with the kids. I'm going to need like support, whatever, even if it's just even Jordan helping me with the concept or the video or taking care of the kids or whatever. It's like, it's still a partnership. It's the same way with like when Jordan's out working. Like he can't just go out and work and then I like, I have to like fill in the gaps
Starting point is 01:02:25 too. And like I have to fill in where where he's missing. And it's like always a partnership and all these things. And so I hate how there's like rivalry because it really takes both of them to make it work. It should be parent talk. Not mom talking, dad talk. I'm like going to cry. It's so weird because like I, um, I just like can't. believe you're saying all this because we just like went through it so hard for like two years and I felt like it um it was so hard because like I wanted to support you in your dreams I always have but like I we had so many kids and it like just became so like I couldn't pour out anymore like to keep the like it just everything became so much more demanding and like our bandwidth shrank so much
Starting point is 01:03:14 so much and it's like I feel like we're in the healthiest place we've ever been because of that exactly it's like it's not that I don't want to support you it's like hey we just have to be equal in this because there's there's too much going on there's too many children yeah right that's also why I feel like Nashville was like such a good move for us because like there's still so many celebrities and so many like creatives and so many people like doing cool things But the culture is very, like, privacy, family first. Correct. Over, like, just, like, sacrifice it all, put it all on the line and just go get what you want, you know?
Starting point is 01:03:55 Yeah. And so, and it's like, no matter what, like, you don't realize how much, like, you are the people that you're around. Like, you so are. So if you're around, like, other families at school in, you know, New York, Houston, L.A., Dallas, like, wherever you are, you're going to become like those people. And if you see them sacrificing in ways, then you're like, oh, I should too. But when you hang out with people here or it's not even just natural, it's just like the right people. It's just like the right people. And, you know, when you're around people that are like, their biggest goal in life is to like learn how to make sourdough so that they can make sourdough for their kids in the morning.
Starting point is 01:04:35 Because like that's what makes it like you're, it's going to rub off on you. Yeah. Or their biggest goal is to like get to their workout before they can. can drop off their kids in the morning or whatever. Like that's going to rub off on YouTube. Yeah, they're still doing amazing things with their life, creating the coolest content later on. And like, but it's just like that's their biggest concern. And then it's like everything else like falls into place. Yeah, no, for sure. Like I think in LA and New York, like I guarantee you what Jen or sorry, Whitney and Connor or Jen being in Orange County, it's like the culture is so like work,
Starting point is 01:05:06 work, work, work nannies take care of the kids. Like, or nannies are there to like back up, you know, and fill the gaps. Which we have a nanny. No, we have a nanny too. But I would say like, you know, even in Dallas, like the per capita time that we spend with our children here is a lot different than in Dallas because I think that when you're around that culture of grinding, it's like justified that you prioritize work over like kind of everything else.
Starting point is 01:05:35 Right. Yeah. And we're not saying our friends in Dallas. No, no, no, no. No, no. It's just like. Our friends in Dallas are amazing, but just like when you're in that kind of grind state, like, you can find it in any city. You can find it in any city.
Starting point is 01:05:48 But all of these women should move to Nashville. Like genuinely, like I feel like they can have the best of both worlds because what Jen, I didn't watch this. You can have the best. You can have it. There are ways to have the best. Danny, we have. That's the craziest thing is like, look at our lives. Like we, because we chose this path, like, we, God has given us everything.
Starting point is 01:06:08 Like we have friends in the industry. Like we are still in the industry. We're friends outside of the industry. Our kids are thriving here. Like it just all is about like what you prioritize and so much of our decision making like in those like two years ago, which I think is what Jen and Jen is going through is fear based. It's like if I don't do this. Now that it will never happen. I lose everything.
Starting point is 01:06:34 Right. And that is so it sucks that they walked away from the church because that is so. diminishing to like who God is or like that basically says like I'm in control and like I create my opportunity and it's all on me which we both struggled with for multiple years of our lives but like it's not true and it's a giant lie and like Satan will use that to separate them from the church to separate them from each other and like ultimately the end game is destroy their marriage destroy Jen and destroy their family because a divorce for them ripples through multiple generations.
Starting point is 01:07:12 Yeah. Over a fear of losing this. It's like when Satan brought Jesus up to the mountain or whatever and was like, I'll give you all of this. You know, just like, you know, I forgot what he asked him to do. Say that I'm, or say that you're not God or something like that. Yeah, yeah. You know, and but what's so crazy is the last thing I'll say is,
Starting point is 01:07:33 I didn't watch this episode, but Jen, Jen asking Zach to go, with the bishop. It's such a sign that she desperately, like, even though she hates Zach right now, and she's like, you don't support me, she still wants him to lead. Like, she still wants to be led by him. And so, like, this dichotomy that this struggle that she's in of like, I want this, and he's a hindrance to this, but I also want him to lead our family is like so spiritual, ironic, biblical. like, it's crazy. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 01:08:12 And it's that, that version for us, I feel like was Nashville. It was like, you know, like you, you didn't. You were like, why is he taking us here? Like, I don't like, I really got things to do here. That TV show was here. You know, but at the same time, like I think. And then right when I get to Nashville, you're like, hey, so we're casting for the real house size of Nashville. Do you want to be in it?
Starting point is 01:08:37 And what did I tell you? What did I tell? I told you, which you're, I don't think you're going to do that one. But if you want to, like, if you wanted to now, Danny, I would support you. I don't want to. Yeah. Now I'm like, I don't want to. But, like, that's the craziest thing is, like, this is just like, if I could just sit with Jen and Zach, what I would say is like, our story is the same type of friction. But ultimately, like, that little discernment that Zach is having probably right now of like, we've got to protect our family. we went through that, we pushed through it.
Starting point is 01:09:09 And for me, for whatever reason, it was like, God was like, I know you guys belong in Nashville. Danny gets to Nashville. She's like, why didn't we do this sooner? Like, this is the best thing. She's so comfortable in her core now. Our kids are thriving. And you're still thriving exponentially. It's like, I just feel so bad for Jen and Zah, mostly Zah.
Starting point is 01:09:34 But also, Jim. Because I know what she's struggling with. I know. And it's like, she's also a little cuckoo with all those hormones too. That's the other thing. Our story is their story. I know. She had really bad, like, not postpartner depression, depression during her pregnancy, like first
Starting point is 01:09:54 transfer. That's exactly what I had. And Zach's like, you, you were a crazy person trying to take the driver's seat of our family right now. She's pregnant again right now. I know. That's exactly what happened to us. Like, she just had a baby.
Starting point is 01:10:06 I think her like her babies are like a year apart just like ours. Danny, it, I, that is why I empath. And then the internet is shitting all over this man. Like when he's probably, I think just so you know,
Starting point is 01:10:17 he's like kind of having like his, what do you call it? Like, not resurgence. So people are like, wow, okay, like we stand with Zach now.
Starting point is 01:10:26 Yeah. He's, he's like. A second chance kind of. He's, he's been trying to lead the family the whole time probably. Yeah. Like he's a good Mormon boy.
Starting point is 01:10:35 He's just a, you know? more traditional. He's a more traditional Mormon boy. He's made a lot of sacrifices. Like, gosh, dang it. Okay. Well, this has been good. I think we should probably and this because we did show up late to the podcast and we still have to do our ads. Okay. Okay. But we love you guys and we'll talk to you later. Bye. Bye.
