Starting point is 00:00:00 Here we go. Hey, I'm Cal Penn, and on my brand new podcast, Here We Go Again, we're going to take today's trends and headlines and figure out, why does history keep repeating itself? You may know me as the second hottest actor from the Harold and Kumar movies, but I'm also an author, a former White House staffer, and as of like 15 seconds ago, a podcast host. You know, sometimes I feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day,
Starting point is 00:00:27 where I'm watching the same never-ending, cycle of things that are happening over and over and over again, like bridges collapsing, vinyl coming back, gas prices dropping, and Fantastic Four being rebooted again, not that I'm complaining, Pedro Pascal is obviously a zaddy. Along the way, I've made some friends who are experts in science, politics, and pop culture. People like Bill Nye. In my opinion, and keep in mind everybody, my opinion's correct. Alok Vade Menon. The headlines from today could have been there in 1940 and 1950 and 1960. Pete Buttigieg.
Starting point is 00:01:05 So we don't just wind up with the Gilded Age on steroids. And Stacey Abrams. People have always been skeptical of government. We've always been distrustful of power. I'll be asking them things like, why are we racing to space again? Are we headed towards another financial crash like in 2008? Is non-monogamy back in style? And how come there's never a gate ready for your flight when it lands like two minutes early?
Starting point is 00:01:28 By the way, seriously, someone knew the answer. Look, the world can feel pretty scary right now, right? But my goal here is for you to listen and feel a little better about the future. Here we go again, premieres October 21st. You can listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
