This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
I'm Bailey Taylor, and this is It Girl.
This podcast is all about going deeper
with the women's shaping culture right now.
Yes, we will talk about the style and the success,
but we are also talking about the pressure,
the expectations, and the real work behind it all.
As a woman in the industry, you're always underestimated.
So you have to work extra hard
in a way that doesn't compromise who you are in your integrity.
You know, I like to say I was kind of like a silent ninja.

Ready for a different take on Formula One?
Look no further than No Grip, a new podcast tackling the culture of motor racing's most coveted series.
Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-explored pockets of F1,
including the story of the woman who last participated in a Formula One race weekend,
the recent uptick in F-1 romance novels, and plenty of mishap scandals and sagas that have made Formula One a delightful, decadent dumpster fire
for more than 75 years.

If you're trying to keep up with everything happening on and off the court,
we've got you covered on the podcast, Plagrant and Funny.

10, 10, shots five,

How could this have happened in City Hall?
Somebody tell me that.
A shocking public murder.
This is one of the most dramatic events
that really ever happened
in New York City politics.
I scream, get down, get down.
Those are shots.
A tragedy that's now forgotten
and a mystery
that may or may not have been political.
It may have been about sex.

Hi, Catherine.
Hi, Chelsea.
Hi, how are you doing?
I gotta tell you, I need a little bit of marital advice.
I just found out something my husband did that is maybe disagreeable to me.
So we're having to have anything to do with hard-boiled eggs?
No, but I will say my mom came to visit last week and within 24 hours she made two separate dishes with hard-boiled eggs.
So I was very happy.
The irony with how many hard-boiled eggs I now consume on a daily basis versus my initial reaction to your heart-boiled.
hard-boiled eggs on a plane, which I'm still against, obviously.
I have to understand against that.
Oh, by the way, did you hear the news that United is calling out passengers that talk on their
phones or listen to podcasts or any sort of media without headphones?
They'll get removed off their flight.
So way to go United Airlines.
Way to go.
Yes.
That's incredible.
That's incredible.
And pretty soon they'll be removing people with hard-boiled eggs, I'm pretty sure.
I think that hard-boiled eggs are kind of like LSD, any kind of psychedelics where it's like set
and setting.
You know, you have to have the right place, right time.
Yeah, that's what you sense.
Not true.
I was worried when my new, when Cowboy came to visit me for the first time, I was like, oh my God, I hope he likes eggs because they're fucking going to be everywhere.
And not only that, I eat four hardboiled egg whites and one yolk.
And I sad to stop giving all the yolks to Doug because of his own cholesterol issues.
He was like, I'm going to kill my fucking dog with the plaque, with heart plaque.
So Cowboy loves hard.
boiled eggs just as much as I do.
And I'm sure Doug also does.
Speaking of Cowboy, you kind of like hard launched.
No, I did not.
I did not hard launch anything.
I mean, it would be very rude to go on vacation with someone several times of who I'm dating
and only post pictures of myself.
That is unacceptable.
So I just am trying to slip them in there.
It's not a hard launch.
That's who I'm dating.
I'm having a good time in my life.
This is the guy that I'm with right now.
There's nothing to announce.
I'm just doing my thing and trying to be inclusive.
and represent what I'm actually doing
instead of being secretive for no reason.
Sharing an igloo together.
Yes, we're sharing igloos together.
Love it. Yes. We've shared a lot more than that.
And yeah.
Bye.
We're saying igloos, sonas and karaoke songs.
Yeah, well, minus the karaoke, please.
It's the karaoke.
You know, I think that that's, I mean, good.
I'm glad you're having fun.
I'm glad that's great.
Yeah, I just don't want to be ultra-private or take myself too seriously.
I don't care.
And I don't want, I don't know.
I just am trying to be real.
I'm real.
As a person who enjoys celebrity culture and all that stuff,
I think that that's great.
So many people are so, like, it's very, very hidden until it's not.
Yeah.
And it's like, I don't want it just because of my relationship in the past that have been
public and be like, I'm not doing that again.
I don't care.
I really just don't care.
There's enough shit going on in the world.
I want to spread joy love and happiness.
And that's what I'm feeling.
So I want people to feel it as well.
I do have to tell you lately, I've been hearing your voice in my head.
Anytime I feel like scared to do something.
or nervous about something.
I just hear your voice in my head saying, like, the world is about to end.
So just like, who cares?
But wait, you didn't finish your marital problem with Brad.
Oh, so let's go back to it.
Brad, you need to get back on the mic because I need to talk about something that you have done.
Hold on.
Let him run back to the mic really quick.
Show your face, Brad, please.
Okay, so you need to tell me if I need to move on from my marriage because we have some
people doing some work at the backyard right now.
I mean, it's like hard work.
They're like tearing up some concrete and stuff.
And I said to Brad this morning, I go,
oh, we should tell them they can use the bathroom inside if they need to use the bathroom.
And he said, oh, I just told them they could pee behind the bush out back in the backyard.
I mean, they're guys.
We don't need them tracking mud through the house.
That is really funny.
Peat outside.
I was like, did you really tell them that?
He said, yes.
Well, they're only here for like a day.
They didn't bring a porta potty.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well, I think that's actually nice because I think men will know where men want to go to the bathroom.
Not like women can pretend to know what men or their desires are.
I'm sure they would rather pee outside than come into your house.
That's probably true.
Worry about not making a mess.
You know what I mean?
That is pretty much true.
I understand your initial shock, Catherine, but I think we can let Brad off the hook.
I think he did the right thing, actually.
I mean, he was thoughtful about it.
He said, I don't want to use your inside bathroom.
Oh, okay.
Even better.
I was like, well, there's a bush up back in the corner.
Go behind that.
No one will ever see you.
No harm, no foul.
And unless you go out into that area of the bush, Catherine, and like rub your face
around in the grass, so there's nothing for you to be concerned about.
It's where the dogs go.
It's, I mean...
It is actually where the dogs go.
So they're going to have some fun smells to smell.
Great.
Wonderful.
That's a nice treat for them.
You're off the hook.
You're off the hook. Thank you for your vote of confidence.

I became a millionaire overnight
but lost everything that actually mattered.
Wait a minute, Sophia,
did you just say he lost everything?
That's right, it's inheriting too much drama week
on the OK Storytime podcast,
so we'll find out soon.
This person writes,
I just inherited a fortune
after losing my mom,
and now my girlfriend's entire family is coming out of nowhere with their hands out.
One sibling wants me to fund their whole lifestyle.
Another vanished for four years and suddenly reappeared.
And my girlfriend is already giving my money away.
Hold on, Sophia.
So the girl he wants to marry is already sending money out the door.
And that's just the beginning.
He makes a plan, sets up a trust,
and finally thinks he has everything under control.
Okay, so things work out then?
Let's just say the people he trusted the most are the ones who ended up shocking him the most.
So does the money end up being worth going through all that?

I'm Lori Siegel, a longtime tech journalist.
And consider my new podcast, mostly human,
your bridge to the future.
Anyone can now be an entrepreneur,
anyone can build an app,
and it's very empowering.
Each week, I'll speak to,
to the people building that future,
and we're gonna break down what all of this innovation
actually means for you.
What I come to realize is that when people think
that they're dating these AI companion,
they're actually dating the companies that create this.
We're experiencing one of the greatest tech accelerations
in human history, and let's be honest,
that can be messy.
There's no playbook for what to do
when an AI model hallucinates a story about you.
But it's my belief that we should all benefit
from this moment. Mostly Human
will show you how. My goal
is to give you the playbook, so
you can benefit. The reason I say
agency is because if we can give
power back to people,
then I think that's probably the best thing we can do
for your mental health. Listen to
Mostly Human on the Iheart Radio app,

favorite shows. Well,
Chelsea, I have an
update, and this is
from Dwayne. It's a little long.
It's cut down, but it's, you know,
It's still going to be long.
Okay.
It's still going to be long.
Brace yourself.
So Dwayne had called in on a minisode.
Yes.
Actually, he's wondering about creatine and how many hardbolled eggs he should eat per day.
I think he's already on the right program, whatever that program is.
He called in on a minisote about his mom's deadbeat boyfriend and mom was like older,
about to have some hip replacement surgery.
And so Dwayne had to go deal with the boyfriend.
So he says, hi, Chelsea.
Just wanted to give you an update.
how things have gone since getting your advice. Before my mom, now 81, could have her hip replacement
surgery, she had to have some tests done to make sure it was safe for her to go under anesthesia.
Long story short, she chose not to have the surgery due to her age and potential risks.
As a result, she'll continue to use her walker and eventually move to a wheelchair.
I took your advice and use these surgeries to try and talk her into selling her home and moving
to a senior community. No luck there at all. I explained how she would keep her independence,
and with the services available at these 55-plus communities, she made.
may even feel more independent, along with having a better quality of life.
After visiting her a couple months ago, I tried selling this to her a bit more because I was
able to see she's only able to keep up with some of the housekeeping, not to mention the
difficulty of stairs for the second floor. She would still not budge. Bob, the boyfriend,
is still around, and while he does help with some things like shoveling snow and mowing the lawn,
he doesn't clean the house. He's very capable, but no, she still feels he's better than nothing.
On the upside, though, I did talk her into taking your advice of going to an elder
law attorney who got everything in order for us.
Great.
She placed me.
Yes.
Yes.
It has a good swing here.
She placed me as her beneficiary and power of attorney for both medical and financial.
She also had a lawyer write up a sworn and notarized affidavit stating that her and Bob were
just friends living together and she does not recognize them being in a civil union of any
kind, including common law marriage, which is like I didn't even know you could do that.
That's awesome.
I also spoke with the attorney on details so I could be assured that if anything did happen to
my mom, that Bob had no rights to end.
anything he shouldn't. She confirmed for me that he is not on any financial accounts and my mom is
safe. As for the house, that's also ironclad protected from him taking possession, and I'm only
required to give him 30 days to vacate. While I hope that time is far in the future, I have to admit
that I look forward to saying those four magical words to him. Get the fuck out. Thank you so much for not
only the advice you gave me, but also your advocacy, educating, entertaining, and incredible humor, Dwayne.
Oh, thanks, Dwayne. I love that. That thank you. Yeah. So,
Everything's working out pretty well there.
And yeah, moms protected financially, which is great.
Good. I love that.
I love when our parents are protected financially, especially the female ones.
Yeah, and I also love that he went to a female lawyer.
Like, great.
Wonderful.
Yeah, exactly.
We love a she when we hear about a lawyer.
Okay, so our caller today is Christina, and she's calling in from Espania.
Oh, okay.
She says, Dear Chelsea, my name's Christina, and I'm a 35-year-old American that's been
living abroad for nine years.
I have lived and worked all over the world, from Vietnam to Australia, and now I currently live in Spain.
I absolutely love my nomadic lifestyle. I've learned so much about the world and I've grown so much as a person,
and I feel like I'm a better person because of it. But last year, after a trip to Colorado to visit my family,
I found myself considering a move back to the United States to be closer to them.
My parents are getting older and it's hard to see them age. I want to spend more time with them while they're still sprightly.
I miss my two-year-old niece, and I especially miss my sister, who's pregnant again with a
do in the spring. I want to be a good ante and be around to watch my niece and nephew grow up.
I'm very nervous, however, about leaving my safe, comfortable life in Europe where there are no
guns, I'm a teacher, free health care, and affordable cost of living, and a great work-life balance
to move back into Trump's America. Am I crazy to abandon the life I've built here? Thank you, ladies,
for all you do. Your podcast keeps me sane amidst the craziness of the world, Christina.
Hi, Christina. Hi.
Normally, I would say, go be with your family, but honestly, I would not move to the United States at this stage in the game.
I really just would not.
It's not worth it.
It's too ugly.
It's too upsetting.
You're leaving a peaceful place.
I think I just hold on and see what happens.
And hopefully things start to turn around after the midterms.
And if not then, then you're going to have to wait another couple years.
But I honestly just would not come to the United States.
It's like the worst decision you could make.
That's my dilemma.
I know.
That's what I feel like most sensible people would say.
Christina, are your folks having any health crises right now?
Are they sort of like having trouble with daily lives, activities of daily living?
Or is it sort of stable at the moment?
They're fine.
They're not like so old, you know, that they need somebody to be helping them all the time.
But, you know, I just kind of think about when am I finally going to come back?
Is it going to be like when one of them needs a caretaker or what if something happens and I'm not around?
I don't know.
I just, I haven't felt this feeling of, you know, last year I went to visit and I felt like I didn't want to leave because I didn't want to leave my sister.
I didn't want to leave my family.
And I've never felt that in all of these years of living overseas.
So it's just kind of been in my head and I'm not sure what to do.
Yeah. Obviously, you know, if that feeling is more powerful than the feeling of trepidation, I guess, to move to the States, then you should go with that feeling.
But I just would never move to the States right now, no matter what.
I wonder if there, is there an opportunity right now for you to like take a month or six weeks and come visit?
So you're not like moving your whole life, but you can come spend some quality time with your folks and with your sister.
like maybe around the time the baby comes or maybe when they get a little more settled.
Well, I'm a teacher. So I have to wait until the end of the school year, which is in June.
So I could go in the summer.
Yeah, that sounds more reasonable. Make it a temporary trip rather than a permanent one, you know?
And test it out. Maybe you go and like things are calm down, you know? Maybe like things will,
who knows what's going to happen next? That's the state that everyone is, that I feel so uncomfortable about.
It's just like it's very destabilizing. And, you know, you don't.
know what is going to happen next. So more information is better. And Spain is safe.
Stay there right now. Yeah, it's very safe. Yeah. And I'll be there soon. Oh, good, good, good.
I think also because you're a teacher and you have a year that you're committed to when you're
teaching in class, one thing you might do is like maybe you wait till next year to do this,
but you might see like if you can get a job lined up here or if you can get some interviews. And if you do
get something lined up and it makes sense to move in a year, year and a half, you know, maybe that's
sort of your sign. But then you can also like know that you're moving back to have like a job and
things are set up for you versus just sort of like, well, I'm going to wing it and come home.
And now you also have a boyfriend there. Is he also American? Yeah, we both we left together.
So we've been doing all of this traveling together. Yeah, you're on the right track.
Just stick with your, honestly, like, don't rock the boot right now.
Okay. Yeah, but Catherine, to answer your question, I think he'll go wherever I go. So ultimately, whatever I want to do, he'll be on board. Good. It's nice to have a man like that who's just like, all right, you get to make the big life decisions. Yeah. Yeah, I call the shots and he'll help make it happen. So. Oh, great. I love this for you. Your life is good. Just leave it alone right now. And just let's hope for the best. Yeah. You got it, Christina.
All right. Let us know what you decide to do. And if you're able to like find a job in a year, if you decide to move back, if you get to visit family. But let us know how it all goes. Okay. I'll keep you updated. Okay. Thank you. Thanks, Christina. Bye.

One thing I wanted to add, I thought this was just a little bit serendipitous.
I got an email this week, Chelsea, from Lisa, who, for anybody who is not wanting to live in the United States anymore for a lot of reasons, Lisa says, hello.
I wanted to reach out and share with you something I hope you can use your platform to share and help others with,
especially with this Kansas law affecting the trans community.
I'm a part of a large group of volunteers who put together a website full of resources to help vulnerable people leave the United States,
or at least make backup plans for their families if and when things get worse.
The website is called Help Me Leave.
It's for folks who are scared by the anti-LGBQ rules and laws taking place, the ICE targeting, etc.
listeners can find out more at www.
help me leave.us.
And thank you for using your platform to speak up and out against this bullshit administration.
Cheers, Lisa.
So I thought that was like very interesting that we got that email this week.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Considering a move back to this particular shit show.
All right.
Well, we'll wrap up with a little quickie.
This person says, Dear Chelsea, I'm writing this email in hopes that you can provide some suggestions, patience,
or some creative alternative.
I sit next to a male, of course, co-worker,
who clears his throat incessantly for about an hour after lunch every single day.
That is called acid reflux.
Yes, exactly.
We've counted, and it can be upwards of 38 throat clears in 20 minutes.
Myself and a few surrounding coworkers have made subtle and not so subtle comments.
Think handing him mince, offering him to get water,
straight up asking, are you okay over there?
He has every excuse in the book from dust, dirt roads, greasy or spicy foods, allergies.
A few of us even went to HR with no resolution.
We're hoping his desk would be moved, but he has seniority.
Therefore, it's not happening.
I put in AirPods and blast music or your podcast and I can hear him over it.
I've run out of ideas on how to get my point across and don't see much help coming for management.
Any suggestions or do I just need to deal with it?
You just need to have a direct conversation with him.
Just make it be about yourself or your husband.
Like, oh, my boyfriend went through this so I know.
I went through this.
I know.
Yeah, that's good.
You have acid reflux.
He has acid reflux.
I also have acid reflux.
So if I smoke too many joints, my friends have to sit around and listen to me go,
it's so fucking annoying.
And I feel terrible.
It doesn't stop me, but sometimes it does stop me.
Sometimes you switch to gummies for a while.
Yeah, I do.
I do.
I try not to, you know, like when I start clearing my throat, I'm like, this is very
annoying to people.
So I think you just have a direct conversation and speak from experience.
Like, even if it's a lie, just say, oh, you know, my husband dealt with this.
I think you have acid reflux.
and there are like ways to help.
You know, it is kind of,
it's kind of annoying
to hear someone clear the throat of the time.
Like, it's really distracting
when I'm trying to get my work done.
If there's something you can do about it,
there's something you can do about it.
I take previsid
and there's also this like vanilla extract online
that you can get that like kind of,
I mean, acid reflux really is reactive
to certain types of food and spices and all that stuff,
but it's also when you lie down and it like kind of comes alive.

You know, I like to say I was kind of like a silent ninja.
