I'm especially you
My child has the haunted eyes of a killer
Yeah, I know
My child has the delightful eyes of an octopus
I am lazy Susan
And I'm Zelda Moon
And this is our podcast, yet to everyone
Hello
And we are currently
Being driven through the infinite void of space
By Matt, the space car driver
Hello, hello
As if the crushing nothingness
Couldn't get more depressing
Good to hear you, Matt.
Matt was telling us depressing stories about his childhood just on our way here.
I knew you'd bring this up.
Yeah.
Yeah, well, listen, you brought the mood.
Yeah, you don't know what math circus is, and that's depressing.
Matt was saying that he only got a PlayStation 1 when everyone else got a PlayStation 2.
And tried to bag a...
Not even 2, number 3.
Number 3?
Yeah.
Oh.
Yeah.
And you were like, I have crashed bandicoot, and they were like, okay.
I haven't played that since I was a child.
Since a baby, since they're a baby, they said.
Yeah.
I was just trying to explain that I'm not as knowledgeable as you two
and up to date with the current games.
Yeah.
Well, that's okay.
Because also I was saying that I felt left out
that I don't have a Tamagocchi.
Well, I was sure my husband
because I tried to get him a Tamagotchi
and he insisted that it was not good.
I think you described it.
as a waste of time.
Yeah, he said, well, there's two reasons I don't want a tamaguchi.
Number one, money, and number two, waste of time.
What about whimsy?
Yeah.
And point number two, fun.
Yeah.
And perhaps, I'll go and find a husband that will have a tamaguchi.
Because this is my current thing.
And if you can't get on board with my current thing, then you don't deserve me at my next thing.
Which is probably on an skateboarding or something.
Oh, that was a good one.
You know, we got really into skateboarding in year seven.
What?
Yes.
We found Annie was really...
I wasn't allowed to skateboard.
They started you off on just a simple wheel.
No, and there was a ramp, a hastily made skateboard ramp at school.
That really shouldn't have been there.
It was like, because like we're in the hills.
So there's not like a lot of concreted surfaces.
So it's mostly muddy paddocks and like forest.
like forest, but there was like the basketball court that then like abruptly ended in
whenever like a muddy cliff.
And so they just decided to put a skate ramp right there at the edge, at the precipice.
So everyone went to skating.
Did you have like a wide skateboard with a little kick thing at the back or like a cool?
No, like a Tony Hawks pro skater kind of skateboard.
That's not the kind of skateboard I had.
But I wasn't very good at it.
But I also didn't really care.
Yeah.
I was more into filming skate videos.
Oh.
And, yeah, going and looking at all the bits that you could buy, you know.
Get your trucks and things.
You know, your trucks and your bearings and, oh.
Oh, yeah.
You know.
Hmm.
I do remember going with my brother to the, oh, it was like in Dandenong or something, like this big warehouse.
skate park
where people
could either
skateboard roller skate
or rollerblade
what did you
choose to do
I'll give you
one guess
a pretty princess
rolling around
and her tassels
yeah well
four wheels
better than two
or whatever
amount of wheels
are in rollerblades
and how old were you then
this was like
I only went maybe
once or twice
because I fear
that my brother
was embarrassed
to have me there
and when he was
skating with his cool friends.
Yeah, he would have been like maybe 14, 15 and I would have been like 11, 12 kind of world.
Yeah, that's...
Yeah, it's not it.
God, I would have hated to grow up with an older brother.
It sounds so boring.
Just like, there were times like that where it was like kind of forced upon, like, it certainly
wasn't me impressing that.
I think my parents always felt like I just wasn't doing as, like, I don't know,
I wasn't like doing as much like activities.
Yeah.
I was wondering where you're going with that sentence.
And so we're like, go do this thing.
And I'll be like, I don't, I like particularly want to.
And I don't think my brother particularly wants me there.
But, you know, you have to go to like, da-da-da.
Yeah.
It's like, well, I don't force him to come to karate with me.
Though you could use it.
Yeah.
I don't force him to play Podracer with me, although I did sometimes.
He didn't play Podracer.
racer with you? Not really. He was just never that into it. I played his like F1 video game more than he did
because there was a swamp level. I imagined I was a crocodile. But you were trapped inside of a car.
No, that wasn't the F1 game. That was Top Gear Rally or something. Anyway, it doesn't matter.
I've met your brother multiple times and he's a delightful man. Yeah. Very nice, funny, kind.
But God damn, what boring interests. Oh yes. Oh yes. If you could write down a bunch of things
that are really boring and just put them all in one person.
It's crazy.
I don't know.
But it's weird because, you know, like, it's not his personality.
No.
He's like a fun time gal.
Yeah.
With the kind of wry sense of humor.
Yeah.
And then you're like, but what?
What do you do with that?
Yeah.
Also, it's like because he's a surgeon, he has like pocket money.
Yeah.
To spend on his interest.
Yes.
And over and over again, I'm disappointed by the rich people.
Yeah.
By their complete inability to know.
to spend money.
Yeah.
Oh,
another car?
Oh,
you got rid of the old car
to get this.
Cool.
This one is red.
Famously,
you can't drive two cars at once.
If you were trying to do that,
I'd support having two cars.
Yes.
But having two,
it's like you'll never be able to enjoy this.
Why don't people with multiple cars
drive around with them like tied to each other in tandem?
Yeah.
Show them all off,
like a big chain.
That's what they do.
Like a choo-choo train.
Yeah.
Fate of the Furious.
What?
It's like if you close.
If you selected Mighty Beans, you could at least race them all at once.
Those like weighted things?
Yes, Mighty Beans.
Ew.
I'm just saying, if you did, that would be a better use of your money than buying expensive cars.
It is a shame that my brother buys cars and not Mighty Beans.
And it shows.
I don't like them now.
They have those weird holes in the lid.
So kids don't suffocate.
Oh, for what? Breathing.
Yeah.
Loser.
But yeah.
People that go on golfing trips.
It's like, get alive.
Like, also imagine flying to different destinations to, like, stand on grass.
You know, it's like you're not enjoying the local environment.
You're just like seeing a replication of the same.
I don't know, I haven't been too many golf courses.
I wonder what it's like playing golf on a different golf course.
Yeah.
Is that like a wild thrill?
I think it is.
Because it's like the same, same but different.
Yeah.
You know, I think as well, a lot of what rich people seem to like, from my outsider experience, is like replicating similar experiences in different locations.
So it's like it gives the illusion of like a jet setter backpacker lifestyle.
But it's like, I want to stay in a Marriott five star hotel in every country where the service is like majority the same.
The bed is kind of similar.
The layout is similar.
there's a few like localizations, but like mostly it's the same experience.
And then I'm going to go to five-star restaurants where it's like the idea is the same.
The way they treat me is the same.
But like there's just a slight difference in the flavors.
Yeah.
I think it's about comfort in like shutting down the amount of like experiences.
Yeah.
My friend was telling me she had an experience where, you know, they'd come into money.
But they're like, my friend in particular,
not come from wealth at all, but she had suddenly become very wealthy. And then they were traveling
and they were in Japan and they accidentally went and stayed at like a too nice hotel. Yeah.
And she was like, like we've done some quite lavish things since, you know, coming into money.
Yeah. But this hotel is like too nice. Yeah. And we kind of overstepped where we should be
allowed to go. Because when we got in to the hotel, immediately we were like surrounded by like four
people. Yeah. And then they were just like on us and they were like, they went and sat us down in like a
separate area and wanted to like us to explain exactly what our trip was going to be. Yeah. And then do
planning for every single part of it so that they could best facilitate it for us. Oh no. And they took
their car. They had a rental car. They took their rental car away and parked it. And they took their rental car away and parked it.
like so they didn't have to think about parking.
Yeah.
And then they were like, okay, so what are you going to do on this day?
Okay, so we can get your car service from here to here.
And we can have this set up for you and da-da-da.
And then like they've gone to the hotel room and like the hotel room would get cleaned twice a day.
And so, but they didn't want to clean it when they were in the room.
So they had to like kind of know whether you're going to be in the room or not.
So it was like this constant like surveillance of your time and like complete control of everything you were doing.
Yeah.
And then they went to like a hot spring on one of the days and took,
they didn't have any towels.
So they just took some extra towels from the room.
And then went to the hot spring.
It was like a big confuffle.
It took them a second to like get the car down from where they'd parked it and everything.
It was just like these weird things where it was like, had they just parked the car,
they could walk out and go.
Yes.
But instead because it was luxurious, they were like, one moment.
Here's your car.
And they're like, you didn't tell us you were leaving at 11.
We had it down a little, you know, like that kind of.
But like they would never say anything like that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then they went to the hot spring and then the tauss end up getting like a little bit of dirt and gram on them from when they're like sitting in a natural hot spring.
And then when they came back to their room, they put them in.
And then the next morning there were these like deep brown towels for like going out like left in the room.
If you're going to get dirty, please use the dirty scum towels.
I was just like, I couldn't handle it.
That level of like, we're not going to say anything.
Yeah, but we've observed how you live and we think you need this gum towels.
We've also left a trough in the corner of room.
That's how you prefer your food to be served.
I thought you were going to say that they segregated them off in the lobby because they didn't look as rich.
Well, no, that's the thing about, like, you know, you never know who you're insulting in the day of tech bros.
Yeah.
If Mr. Beast showed up, you would think.
Get that's fucking...
Get that weird, suddenly alive, animatronic out of this place.
Speaking of Mr. Bees...
Mr. Bees.
What fuck?
I saw a...
Like, it was not a Mr. Beast video, but it was something.
Something.
Anyway, did he...
Speaking of Mr. Beast...
I saw her...
Well, it wasn't a Mr. Beast video.
No!
Did he, like, give away an island or something?
He's always giving away islands.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
If that's what happened.
You don't want an island, huh?
No.
But he was talking about how he like gives, he's like, you can either buy a nice island.
And I'm like, okay.
Like an island with all the island trimmings.
Isla nubla, perhaps.
Gorgeous palm trees.
A villa.
Not kind of thing.
Or you can buy a cheap island, which is like scrubby, you know, whatever.
Isla Sona.
And you can terraform it and it's usually cheaper.
And I'm like, Jesus Christ, imagine this island off in the Pacific that is like, you know,
just whatever seeds made it there through chance over thousands of years.
And then like Mr. Beetz rolls in one day and it's like, we're putting up one whole golf course here.
Yeah.
I'll put the palm trees there.
Yeah.
Oh, they'll all be gone soon anyway.
Do you think that
Maybe we should
What, kill Mr. Beast?
Yeah.
No, I think I've just thought of a great podcast topic.
I'm going to write that down.
Right a day.
What else is happening?
In our lives?
Yeah.
I don't want to talk about that.
I don't think that's any of your business.
Well, we've got our tamaguchi.
Yeah.
And that's been huge for us coming into our lives as parents.
It has.
We spoke about this.
obviously a few weeks ago.
But I mean, it's just been incredible.
Really?
My day to day now.
Take care of my baby.
Raise my baby.
And you know what the sad thing about raising the baby is?
I feel very like John and Kate plus a kind of like Salt Lake City Mormon wife.
Yeah.
Because I have a baby that I've wanted to raise in a certain way for a long time.
You know, I want there's a baby.
Yes.
I want salamander baby.
Yeah.
kind of thing. And so you have to like either abuse it to a certain degree to get it to turn into that or be kind to it to a certain degree.
You know, and for a few days I do feel a bit like, oh, I'm abusing this child, but I have to leave it in its filth.
So I get the lizard. Yes. But then when I get the lizard, I like look at the lizard for a second.
And then I'm like, okay, well, now it's time for the next. And I feel like one of those women that it's like, I've spent the last 20 years.
pregnant.
Because I literally am like, well, next baby.
What?
You have a baby and then like, next.
Yeah, I'm like, that's cute.
Next one.
Or like, maybe I'll get the one I want next time.
If I have two more glasses of wine and then.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Is that what you're saying?
Yeah.
Just abuse that baby.
This one didn't turn out how I wanted.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, because otherwise, it's like you can't evolve your planet.
Listener, you need to keep doing the goals you've set in order to evolve your
planet. And I want to evolve my planet. All right. That's good. What about you, Zelda?
Yeah, mine are coming along. I'm taking a much more like, it happens as it happens approach.
Lase-feirste-Stynamum. Yeah, I've not looked at the intricacies of cruelty and kindness and what
that will result in. Eugenics. As it happens, it happens. So at the moment I have a delightful
octopus baby. It's currently sitting inside an aquarium under the ocean.
ocean. That's pretty silly. Only in America. I did put all of my water themed interior design
objects in the ocean field. Yeah. But it is weird to have an aquarium at the bottom of the ocean.
But you know what? It also rains in the bottom of the ocean. Yes. I hate some of those things.
I'm like a few more thoughts would have been nice. Yeah. Yeah. Hmm. The world of Tamaguchi
paradise. Barra. Barra. And how it.
use her to moon. How's your loan?
Oh, it's actually so good.
Matt, could you not cough while
Zeldar is talking? I'm muting the coughs.
It doesn't even in there.
Just relax.
Everyone, it was a big cough.
No, I'm actually going to
do my lawns again this afternoon,
which I'm so excited for
because I did that really deep cut
the other week. And now I'm
reaping the benefits of it.
Scalp that queen. Yeah.
All of that
um yeah
fodder that's been trapped under there
has been loosened up, dry it out
and now I can cut it out
oh it's so good
and then we're gonna aerate
I'm scared of eration tools
also it doesn't need erating
doesn't it? Relax
why are you scared of it
because I put one through my toes
when I was a child
maybe just putting these to letters
and walk around the backyard
that is somehow safer
I think
yeah no I'm
Good.
What do I have to report back this week?
I started watching Widows Bay.
Ooh, finally.
Yeah, which I'm like halfway through, I think.
Oh, it's very fun.
It's so good.
Very fun.
Listeners, take it on recommendation.
You should be watching Widows Bay.
Yes.
It's so good.
Also, apparently it took 15 years to get made, 20 years.
Wait, what?
Yeah.
What do you mean?
So the woman who created the show
she wrote that pilot of Widows Bay
or some form of that pilot of the script of Widows Bay
for her application to become a staffed writer on Parks and Recreation
and like was like, yeah, he's the spec script
and they were like, oh, amazing, thank you.
And then it literally just sat in a draw.
For 20 years.
Yeah.
And then what?
They were cleaning out the office and were like, oh, what's this?
Well, this is a hoot in a house.
No, I think, yeah, once, you know, I think she was probably, I just, I just can't believe that film, the show exists.
Is that why it's set in the 90s?
Because that's like when it was originally written?
Is it set in the 90s?
I don't think it is.
I, I actually can't tell.
Well, the island is very, yeah, like, it's like, see, what is it?
C-R-T, TV or whatever.
Oh, yeah, but that's in the, like, yeah.
Yeah, but I, I don't know.
No, they have iPhones.
They do.
Yeah.
Okay.
But I think because all the TVs are like old.
And they've only got like, they don't have proper internet there and the cell phone service.
It's all like, it feels like it's in the 90s because it's...
I'm sure at that Bachelor party, they took a photo on a handheld camera.
They still have handheld cameras now.
Yeah, but not.
And they're back in vogue.
I don't have.
But yeah, it's really good.
Yes.
I think it's trippy that the two leads are Welsh and English, which is very funny.
You'd never know.
I just love how many how many people are just not American anymore.
I'm over Americans.
Well, you've never seen in America.
You've never seen in America.
Because they don't exist anymore on television.
They're just getting played by British people.
Yeah.
Listen, we are recording this episode a couple weeks ahead, but I just want you to be rest assured that.
as X-Men 97 season 2 comes out
I'll be doing a weekly talk spot on it
and I'm just saying that out loud right now
because I think it comes out this week
but also at time of recording
House of the Dragon Season 3 starts tonight
I'm very excited for that
everyone's very excited for that
Mama's going to be so good
well I'm finally going to get that dragon out of the house
get her out of there
She's causing all kinds of mischief
I feel like
Yeah you should you should write
Um
sort of blurbs for
For shows and movies that you haven't seen
Yeah
It's time
What do you think House of the Dragon is actually about
She knows
She knows
You know it's probably some family
That's trying to claim power
and then they're fighting about it.
Yeah, right.
I just can't, you know what?
The candles are too much.
The candles?
I just, I saw that other show, the Seven Kingdoms.
Oh, yeah.
I liked it.
With that hot, hot, hot man.
That tall rugby player.
Oh, my God.
And that child, that precocious young child.
Oh, yeah, whatever.
I think the kids are real good in that show.
Yeah, and that hotty.
A bad actor.
Oh, what was his name?
I follow him on everything.
It escapes me right now.
But yeah, I was just like, get real.
What?
Inside with all those candles.
Are you kidding?
Peter Claffey.
He's so fucking hot.
Have the shots of him in that other show where he's just like wearing underwear and a dorm room come up for you?
Oh yeah.
They've made my way into the feed.
He is fucking gorgeous.
He's so hot.
And yet nothing for that other guy?
What?
Bangladesh.
No.
Although I did look at a few more of the videos,
and he does have a certain charm.
Zelda has been sent by both a listener and myself,
this guy, who, if you're familiar,
why is everyone bullying me?
So this red-headed American man who sings these, like,
kind of nonsensical little songs,
has recently gone viral.
Yeah.
And everyone's sending it to Zelda
Because he's like very freckly redhead
And has like, you know
Early 2000's
Boy Band Pump Pop vibes
We all think
Hmm
I know a girlhood like that
It makes me insane
Yes well ha ha ha
Well ha you got me
Yeah
Well you never take me to Bangladesh
Um
Okay a huge news for me this week
Oh
I posted a recent video series about obviously the man of Lorelai.
Disney have reached out with this season.
No.
Spin off.
Valerie, who is this TikToker, ticot-stress, who used to be the head of costumes on Gilmore Girls.
And I've watched for ages.
sent me, like, commented and was like, oh my God, amazing.
Like, thinking I didn't know who she was.
Oh, my God.
Like, hi, I'm Valerie.
Like, da-da-da-da-da.
And I'm like, Valerie, I know who you are.
Yeah.
And, uh-da-da-da.
What are you doing here?
And she was like, oh, my God.
And then we started chatting.
And I just love that woman.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
One step closer.
But she loved the mandololari.
Of course.
It was a hoot.
And I love Valerie.
She tells me all about how Miss Patty is going.
at the moment. She had a fall.
What?
Yeah.
What is Valerie working on lately?
What is she styled for the stars?
I don't know.
I think she actually, because she had such big success on her TikToks,
like, it's actually become a job for her recently.
Wait, what are her TikToks about?
Just telling you, like, information about all the different things from Gilmore Girls.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
She's kind of the keeper of the, I don't know,
I don't know, the history of the costumes and like how all the sets worked and what happened on
each day.
Do you think in 20 years you can ride the dragways wave again by being like, oh, on this day on set,
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
I don't think so because I'm from Down Under.
I think it'll be Angeria, Paris Van Michaels.
Yeah.
Damn it.
Yeah.
Who will become the font of all things.
Actually, all drag queens are constantly.
chronicling their experience on the show, like Bob and Trixia and Katya.
True.
I'm just like, this is what happened.
Willem.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Matt, do you have anything to report?
Not much.
All right.
I'm just getting my play session two this week.
Oh, my God.
I used to be playing on that, I guess.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Off the Dreamcast and onto the play stuff.
We can play Marvel Rivals together.
No, thanks.
All right.
If you had to play Marvel,
can you bring up the playable characters and Marvel Rivals, Matt,
on your little computer desk?
Yes.
And tell me which character you would play as.
Marvel Rivals can be playable characters.
Marvel Wivals.
Okay, well, why don't we take a quick apocalypse?
Yeah.
Matt can tell us as we get back into it.
The way that the world ends this week is that each and
Every single person is struck by lightning.
Ooh.
In a superstorm.
That's fun.
What's the name of the superstorm?
Like Rachel?
Barbara.
They're coming to get you, Barbara.
And in being struck by lightning, everyone survives.
But they're just a bit different, starting to make impulsive decisions
because it's apt that part in their brain.
And so now, you know, people are driving into traffic.
People are walking into traffic.
People are dying in traffic
And so like just through impulse control issues
The world slowly dies
You know like the exit zap hole
Where like the electricity shoots out of you
And you get like a big bruised burnt spot
What?
I hate that
What?
What?
What?
When you get electrocuted
How many times have you been electrocuted?
Only once.
When?
When I was a child
And I
Were they trying to get the lizard evolution?
I was trying to, I walked backwards into an electric fence and I thought a horse kicked me
But it was just that I walked into an electric fence
How supercharged was that electric fence?
Like, shot me two meters and crossed the field
Like, ow!
That, because I touched a few electric fences in my day.
I know how to have fun on a farm.
Yeah.
But I've never been thrown.
Yeah.
How, what was it keeping in?
Horses.
Oh, I guess they do have to be strong.
Yeah, I mean, like, I was also, it was probably partially, like, the pure shock.
Drama Queen.
Because it was, oh.
Because it was coming from behind.
I didn't know what was happening.
Little did she know he'd be coming from behind for the rest of her life.
Yeah.
She's not shocked anymore, is she?
Now, so tell me, you, the lightning exited your body.
No, but.
No, because I wasn't struck by lightning.
But it does go, it does.
It does go into the earth.
Yeah, it has to just stay in your body.
You can't stay in.
It's got to come in and go up.
I've seen Avatar.
I know how light you are.
Wait, so where did it go through?
You're saying that there's bruises left on your body.
Can you look this up?
I have to look it up.
You're telling me an anecdote.
No, I'm not.
I'm just saying that's a phenomena.
Electric.
I told you when I got electrocuted in the toilet and I put my finger in the light socket
because there was no light bulb in there.
And I was checking to see if it was on.
In that bathroom there?
No, no, in one of my sharehouses.
And I stuck my finger.
You put your finger into the light socket to see if there was a light bulb there?
Well, I was actually trying to find where the whole was because I was trying to put a new light bulb in.
But it was already switched on.
Oh, Matthew.
So it just like, but I felt the electricity go through my fingertip and came out my big toe.
Mm-hmm.
I think I've told that story before.
Did you get a bruise?
No bruises, because it was just a little zap.
But I can imagine if you got a lightning bolt.
It would come out your toe and give your toe a bruise.
Well, not if you're wearing rubber-sulled shoes, right?
Because the electricity can't flow through them.
Sometimes the current travels mostly over the skin in a phenomena called a flashover.
I used to be so scared of ball lightning.
Have you ever heard of this?
Ball lightning.
I guess it's an urban myth.
Ball lightning.
Yeah, it comes down in a ball.
No, it doesn't. It just appears randomly.
Oh. Like, we'd be sitting in this room and then ball lightning would appear.
I feel like that was something in tinting.
And ball lightning, like, you could be in a plane and ball lightning.
I don't think that's a real thing.
Ball lightning is a rare, mysterious atmospheric phenomenon characterized by glowing spherical
orbs of light that sometimes appear during thunderstorms.
Ranging in size from a few centimetres to several meters, these orbs typically linger
for a few seconds to a few minutes before vanishing.
It featured heavily intending.
They tend to hover or move slowly, roughly a dozen meters above the ground.
Eyewitnesses often report an accompanying hissing or buzzing sound
along with a distinct acrid odour like sulphur or ozone.
Okay, while mostly observed outdoors,
these orbs have occasionally been reported to pass through solid,
Jacks, like glass window, or enter homes through chimneys.
I can see it right now.
Bitch!
Ball lightning is coming for us.
Okay, well, what about this?
The exit point can show burns or damage because tissues are heated as the current phases
through.
So just saying, I'm not crazy.
That is a thing.
Yeah, but you said it like you had that personal experience when you were electrocuted.
No.
So then...
No.
You said it like it was an inconvenience to experience all.
the time.
I just mean like,
I just hate that you get those
little bruises from the
because if everyone on the planet
is being electrocuted,
everyone would have a little exit
bridge.
Yeah,
and then you proceeded to tell a story
about how you were electrocuted.
I don't know how old...
You was thrown two meters
across a far better
I was just like...
I was just so upset
that the horse had kicked me
and I was so relieved
when I realized it hadn't.
It was just man's modern technology
that had betrayed you,
not the horse.
Why would the horse kick me?
No, it didn't happen.
At the
time that would have been like four times your height thrown I don't know it was intense I know
wish your parents had had iPhones at the time so they could have filmed I reckon my dad and my brother
were there I can't remember where we were but anyway I guess the real test is what was their
reaction oh not much did they laugh probably yeah because they also were watching me do it
Like, they weren't, you know, like, anyway.
They were like, get a little bit closer to the fence.
Yeah, that sounds like you grew up in the right kind of family.
But it also very, I don't know, you know, when Timmy gets elected
accrued by the fence in Jurassic Park.
Love that scene.
Also, he didn't get superpowers.
No.
That's what would have happened on Marvel.
Well, speaking of, Matt, who are you playing in Marvel Rivals?
I'm looking at all the faces and what they do and stuff.
Yeah.
I don't know. What would you recommend? I guess maybe I would choose like
Gambit or something. Oh, sheik. All right. Yeah, that's good.
There's so many random ones that I've never heard of.
Random like whom? Squirrel girl? Oh, you don't know squirrel girl?
New York inhabitant can talk to squirrels?
Friends with Iron Man? Has incredible luck.
She has not appeared in the movie so far.
Wow. She's the most powerful movies are based on coming from.
in the MCU, isn't she?
Well, that's right up there.
Yeah.
Is the movies.
All right.
Yeah.
Who else don't you know?
I can fill in the gaps.
I think the only other one I don't need to go through all this, do we?
Penny Parker.
Penny Parker?
Oh, is that related to Peter Parker?
Kind of, but she's another spider gal,
except that she has telekinetic,
tele-whatever connection.
And what is devil dinosaur?
What the heck is that?
Oh, devil dinosaur is a dinosaur from an old.
internet universe where dinosaurs have high intelligence
and she became good friends with
Moonboy, but then Moonboy died, but don't worry.
Now he's friends with Moon Girl.
I used to be scared of ball lightning, but now I pray for it.
We're going to take a break and we'll be right back.
She can't, Moon Girl can't be playable
because she's 10 years old, so that would be a bit weird.
But Devil Dinosaurs is there.
That's cool.
Cut the track.
Hello and welcome back.
Hello, I finally subdued them using a rope.
And a small electric fence.
You wish.
I know an electric fence when I see one.
Now you do.
Unless I don't see it.
You never know what's behind you.
Matt, I did send photos of that hottie in that scene where he's just in underwear.
What did you think about that?
Oh, from the Game of Thrones spin-off thing.
Yeah.
What's that called?
The Hedge Knights.
The knight, a knight of the seven kingdoms.
Correct.
Yes.
That guy.
Yeah, he's all right.
He's tall.
He's a bit goofy looking.
Is that your type?
Yes.
It's important to have a type.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't really...
Honey, goofy looking is in.
We don't want people that are mogging.
No.
Looks maxed lot muggers.
What's a monger?
What? Do you know the story of that like...
Clivocular.
Yeah.
That ridiculous.
That ridiculous.
He's not a Roman.
What do you want to know?
What?
Where has he come from?
So from what I've gleaned, I can't remember his real name, but clavicular was like a very awkward college boy.
Yeah. Who was like a bit of an outcast and didn't quite know what to do.
It started like live streaming about like, you know, getting into this idea of looks maxing.
And I think he's self-professed very autistic, which I think.
is very checks out
just insofar as like
I think what's really appealing
about this idea of like slowly
iteratively
being able to do a checklist
in order to get people to like you
and want to spend time with you
is like really
appealing I think to someone who's autistic
because it's like
it's not some weird amorphous thing
that you just have to kind of calibrate
based on the person you're talking to
and 10 other weird like unspoken
social rules.
It's like your nose needs to be like this.
Your canthal tilt needs to be like this.
And like all of these like if I just get these little degrees correct,
then I can tick those boxes and then people will like me,
which I think was what was happening with this boy.
But then also he was just in a really weird,
obviously born into a really weird time in history for straight white men.
And so got kind of absorbed into the,
the, I don't know, not alt-right, but like,
red-pilly kind of territory.
And so he's like, really, like, you know, says the N-word a lot.
Oh, what?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Oh, I didn't know that.
Yeah, well, because, like, a lot of, like, this looks maxing stuff is also based in eugenics.
So it's, like, about kind of, like, um, weird, Aryan, like, not, like, Aryan, like,
But, like, yeah, it's about, like, the supremacy of specific features, specifically, like, and oftentimes white features.
Like, it's all about having this, like, slim nose and all this sort of stuff.
So it's, like, weird shit we're like, oh, okay.
Yeah.
And I think that that stuff has, like, gone part and parcel with that.
And then also just deeply weird, misogynistic shit.
The misogynist stuff is what I've seen more of.
Yeah.
That has come up on, like, feeds or whatever.
but weirdly like the thing that I don't understand about him in the very limited exposure I've had is that he seems like the things that he says are then mocked by people that presumably would like be on side yeah because they're like so extreme yeah like I saw him on some like dude bro podcast where he was saying like isn't like I'm getting it wrong but like saying like it doesn't matter if like the woman comes.
it's not about that or whatever.
Yeah.
And the guys are like,
what?
Yeah, yeah.
But that,
I don't know.
It's just like,
but then if he is alienated
from his own cohort,
like I don't understand
how he even has a platform.
Well,
I think what's happened recently,
this is like,
I saw someone talking about it
being like,
he might be the first attractive
lol cow we've ever had.
A lull cat.
A lull cow.
Like an internet.
that punching bag that everyone's like, like everyone, like converges over at once.
But they're like, because he's like traditionally all the things that would normally get praised
on the internet in being like a, yeah, straight dude who's like attractive.
Yeah.
But he's also like become the most cringe kind of thing.
So everything he does and says recently, everyone's like, eh.
Which is really funny.
Hmm.
Well.
Did you see all the Tyler catastrophe stuff?
Tyler catastrophe.
Yeah.
No.
There is this like trans man.
Trans man who has become another locale on the internet for making beated jewelry that they charge like 20,000, you know, just a ridiculous amount for.
And they're like, I'm an artist and I'm actually the most talented artist.
And like I'm really, you know, like this.
incredibly
hard work.
They basically just
sit online
and talk about how amazing they are.
But in this very,
like,
earnest way
and like a very,
like,
2004 kind of,
like,
way of speaking,
like YouTube style.
Yeah.
And then just got
completely dragged by the internet
and had all these weird
paris social relationships
with people in bands
and, like,
other artists.
And we're,
like,
not really aware of their own
kind of maybe lack of
talent.
in some ways.
I'm looking at the necklaces and I'm not seeing the talent.
And they also claim that they were like two spirit despite the fact that they're white.
And yeah.
But that was like, yeah, like it's kind of, I think in both situations, an unfortunate
person who is definitely like just an autistic person who's like trying their best
to learn the rules of how to fit in and then the internet's just making fun of them.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, bless.
Well, anyway, it's time for a speakhole.
Hey, let's get speak hole.
Let's get speak old.
Listen to the hole and you'll hear them speak.
There has been so much Jennifer Lopez content lately.
She's just like so unapologetically beautiful.
Have you seen this woman?
Yeah.
I mean, I send them to you all the time.
but like it's crazy.
Oh no,
why am I doing?
Jay Lo.
Jay Lo.
I just need to review
because there's going to be another one.
Every time you go on.
Jay Lo?
Well, she's actually like,
her and Katie Perry are having such a similar time at the moment.
Katie's having a resurgence of like,
I'm kooky again.
I'm not dressing like her prime minister's wife.
My wife.
Yeah.
That's all I have to say.
I need to watch this New Jennifer Lopez movie.
movie.
Which one?
Because also that guy looks like he's the guy from
Sensei, but I know that it isn't him.
Kiss of the Spider Woman.
No,
Office Romance.
Have you seen?
She's got it in a new like rom-com
called Office Romance.
Yeah.
I don't know that?
With a guy who looks like he's the guy from Sensei,
but it's not that guy.
How is she still making things?
I was telling you one of my other favorite actors is in that.
Betty Gilpin.
I love Betty Gilpin.
We were just talking about Betty Gilpin.
Betty Gilpin's in that episode of Widows Bay.
I know.
She's amazing.
That's why I love it.
I haven't finished that episode yet.
Betty Gilpin, we need to do more with.
What are we doing with Betty Gilpin?
Well, she's next to Jennifer Lopez sometimes in that new movie.
Have you watched the show where she's like fighting that she's a nun fighting the evil AI?
Yes.
What was that called?
I can't remember.
But it was so good.
Why did that get cancelled?
I don't know.
I think that she defeated.
She defeated the evil and went about her day.
Did you watch The Hunt?
That was really good.
Yeah, The Hunt and Mrs. Davis definitely watch those.
Oh, and she was in Ricky Javis's
Ghost Town
Oh
God, Ricky Javis
Like, oh, just crazy
I can't believe the people we gave careers to
Have you seen Office Romance yet?
No, wait, have you?
I've watched a little bit
Yeah
Okay
Out of the corner of my eye
Guys, what the fuck are you talking about?
Office Romance with Jennifer Lopez
and the guy who's not in Sensate
Okay, let's have a lot of
directed by O'Parker.
Hmm.
Who directed Mamma Mia,
Here We Go Again.
You say that like you knew that.
Yeah, but I know
Jennifer Lopez is in that movie and that's good.
Iron-fisted president and CEO of Air Cruise, Jackie Cruz,
Chris, runs the company with rigid control,
including a no fratinization policy for all,
which is put to the test when she and a new lawyer
who begins working for her are mutually, irresistibly attracted.
Mama, that was written by AI.
I, sorry, I am listening sister, but I also just find a hot redhead on Instagram.
And just really quickly, Harrod's hustle.
Okay, AI can't get you a six-pack, I can, helping busy men take control of their health.
DM me, hustle. Let's work.
Ew. Ew. Why would?
Sorry.
Why would I look at that?
No, why would?
If you're a PT, in what world are you only interested in helping busy men take control over their health?
Is that a thing?
The case requires Jackie to personally pilot her private plane for a deposition trip to the Dominican Republic,
leaving her completely alone with Daniel in the tropical setting,
away from the rigid confines of the corporate office.
They drop their buttoned up professional guards,
giving in to their mutual attraction.
They begin a passionate romantic affair.
Upon returning to New Jersey, Jackie and Daniel go to extremes to conceal their relationship from the rest of the company.
However, their efforts are constantly threatened by the chaotic antics of Daniel's wayward sister Lizzie and various highly observant office colleagues.
The stakes escalate dramatically when the opposing legal counsel attempts to weaponize Jackie's personal life against her threatening the future of Air Cruise and her standing with her father and the board.
Or this post that has a caption
I never see you at the club
And he's looking like a fucking douchebag
And then it cuts to footage of him running with other people
Wrong club, mate
Get it, he's in a run club
Which I just learned from that Tom Lee Johnson
It's really hard to make friends in
Run club
Yeah
I'm not interested
It's really hard to make friends in a run club
I'm not interested in run clubs
What are you talking like what are they doing
I don't know
You're running with people
Yeah
Is that it?
I'm not into it.
I'm only not into it because that guy I was seeing
who was in a run club.
Which one?
Oh.
At the start of the year.
Hey, they bought tickets to our show.
They can come.
Yeah.
And then I was ready to kick him out.
If I saw him in the audience.
Were you going to?
Yes.
Oh my God, Zelda.
I was.
Spacey.
Yeah.
I like that.
Yeah.
I was going to be like,
bring up the house lights.
What the fuck are you doing here?
Are you serious?
And then I was going to explain what happened.
And then be like, can you,
get out.
Whoa.
So, good move.
Resetting your tickets and not daring to show
your face at the premiere of the Witcher Girls.
Anyway, I would like to play this
now. Okay.
Run clubs aren't very easy to make friends out.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great place to meet people
and try to make new friends, but it can still
be pretty darn intimidating.
Oh.
Up to a giant running event with 300 people by myself
tonight. Stood around for about half an hour by
myself before I finally got the courage to go say hi to some girls.
Oh my God.
I went running with them and they were super kind, but we didn't really click.
So I looked for some new people after the run.
Right before I was about to give up and leave, I found some people I joked around with earlier
and ended up hanging out with them and then dropping them home.
So out of the whole evening, I spent a lot of it standing by myself or being intimidated.
And even though I'm a massive extrovert, it doesn't mean it was easy.
I don't need more reasons to kill myself.
Don't kill yourself.
Kill him.
What the fuck is that?
No, I can't even explain.
No, I don't want to know more about that.
That is evil.
You know, I don't even, he doesn't have enough followers for us to talk about it.
Like, it's just not kind.
But yeah, he's become a bit of, it remains an obsession for my husband and I.
I think you're right.
We should do which dragon from House of the Dragon gets into the bunker.
I know that you'll pick Tessarian, but I think it could be a miraculous.
Why do they always have names like that?
What do you mean?
Oh, it's a stupid name.
Like Vega.
Like Tessarian.
Yeah.
Sorry?
You've not played many RPGs and it shows.
It's just, it's too much.
Take me back to Dune where people are called John.
Okay.
Nice Christian names.
Here's a speak home.
Thank you.
Here you go.
Bean tips.
Here we are.
Bean tips.
Hi, girls.
Faggot.
First time, long time, whatever.
Also, hi, Matt, and hi, Curgeon.
Curgeon doesn't get enough love.
I was wondering when you were talking about the horsemen of the apocalypse the other week.
Yes.
When you're doing your bespoke apocalypse eye,
are you ever thinking about other horsemen that are harbenders of that apocalypse?
True.
Like, plague and famine feel kind of.
done and I just think you could come up with something more interesting than that.
Anyway, that's it.
Crunch, crunch, scald go, yummy pop.
Goodbye.
What?
Crunch crunch.
Yes.
What are you saying like the horsemen of wig lines or something?
Yeah.
Okay.
say it again
I'm sorry it
again
I'm sorry it again
you
you can
I'm just mocked
repeatedly
incessantly
you can write a drag race
acting
Imagine candy views
It's not one of the wigline
I'm going to talk about a wigline
You're just a bit.
All right
All right
It's just too much
Would you like to have
To pick an apocalypse?
when you have.
To know.
Horsemen of what?
The weakly.
It's really good.
All right.
It's just a first call.
It was good.
Okay.
So what does he do?
What does he do?
What does he do?
No one.
Apocalypse, the portal opens up.
Yeah, yeah.
Between hell and here.
Yeah.
Horsman comes charging through.
In comes death.
And then after him, the horseman of the Wigland.
Yeah.
Go on.
Yeah.
Well.
Clocks it.
And make sure everyone knows.
You know?
I do.
Yeah.
Listener.
I don't know what else to tell you.
Clarks it.
Make sure I've heard him.
Yeah.
He doesn't really end the world, but he is there to make it feel bad.
Exactly.
Yeah, there is no escape.
Just likes to point things out.
I'm over wigs with lace.
Yeah.
I'm over it.
okay
oof
yeah
I'm getting
the hard friends
yeah
um
maybe we should take a break
yeah
is that it
we're putting in the
horseman
of the week
don't say
all right
okay
we're okay
we're back
we're back
hello
less now
hello
I do apologize
for the five
minutes that you just had to sit through.
Matt, don't cut a single moment of that.
No, no.
And now, for hopefully some real robust discussion, we have another speakhole.
Oh, thank God.
And this time it's been sent in by Jack.
Oh, my God.
I don't know which jacket could be.
You don't know Jack.
Well, I will soon find out.
Here it is.
Hello, Celestial Goddesses and Matt.
Jack calling from San Francisco.
Oh, wow.
So I'm a work-from-home diva, and in addition to listening to death to everyone, of course,
while I'm working from home, I do love a little ambient YouTube video in the background.
And my favorite of these videos are the live feeds from the Monterey Bay Aquarium,
which is a wonderful aquarium.
If ever you're in the northern central coast of California, it's great.
and I was wondering which one of these videos would make it into the bunker.
So to go through their different live feed videos really quick,
they're a video of one of their exhibits.
So they've got the moon jelly cam, the normal jelly cam, no moon, sorry Zelda,
the open sea cam, my favorite, the Monterey Bay cam.
You can see lots of seals and wild.
sea otters out there.
The spider crab cam, they're a bit boring.
Not going to lie.
The sea otter cam, not a fan, a little too chaotic.
The kelp forest cam, the shark cam, and the biggest flop of them all, the live aviary cam.
But yeah, I was wondering if you could tell me which one of these make it into the bunker.
I know it's a bit niche and you're not ones to be niche with what goes into the bunker.
Yes.
Thank you.
Okay.
I'm going to have a quick look at the Monterey.
Bay Aquarium. Thank you, Jack. That was very sweet. Jack, I would like you to send me a DM.
Do you think you and Jack are going to be in love? Yes.
Well, we all know Zelda loves a good underwater live cam.
Well, I've got the live moon jelly cam on right now. I can't see shit. It's all dark in there.
Well, sometimes there's night time. Also, what? No, it isn't.
That's the live jelly cam. That's not the moon. Oh, the moon jelly.
I should have been aware.
This is freaky because did I talk about the last dagger?
Oh, it wasn't the last, but like a previous dagger heart where we put on like a swampy live cam.
I was trying to get like the Everglades live cam.
Yeah.
Did we talk about that?
Yeah, we did.
Well, I don't think we talked about it on this pod, but we talked about IRL.
Yeah, but this guy's in San Francisco.
That's crazy.
The world is so small nowadays.
Jack, I love a live feed cam from an underwater scene.
I love it.
And I have for my whole life, because in Australia, we had Channel 31 that would often switch over to Fishcam.
And the hours that I spent watching Fishcam or just having Fish Cam on in the background while I was doing, whatever I was doing, probably playing with my Jurassic Park toys or whatever, really set me up for success in this life.
And now Fish Cam has been replaced by whichever live feed I like.
Now, there is a really great Melbourne-based live cam that is like the Falcons on that building near Flinders Street.
Do you know that one?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like, that's great.
The famous Falcons.
Who could forget?
Yeah.
Paragans?
Are they Perrigans?
I don't know.
Miss Perrigan's home for peculiar children?
Why close years ago?
Sorry.
She just burst back out into Carrier.
So.
that one's quite good.
Okay. But we're talking about
Monterey. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just want
to say one more nasty thing. I'm not that
into live feed of penguins.
Yeah. Anywhere.
Like, we have two penguin hubs in Victoria,
St. Kilda Beach and then
Phillip Island. I'm just not that interested.
Fairy penguins. Yeah.
Fairies.
So, okay, Jack, I'm going through
now. Obviously, I'm more of a virgin
here, so, you know, take this with a big
old grain of sea salt.
But I can only go based on the currently live Monterey Bay Aquarium options.
So there are currently nine people watching the live moon jelly cam.
And I would say that's because it's off.
There's nothing, it's not facing anything.
So that's out of the running.
There are 589 people watching the live jelly cam Monterey Bay Aquarium,
which is absolutely breathtaking.
Look at that gorgeously saturated.
azure blue that these kind of gold...
Hang on, which one are you talking about, sorry?
The live jelly cam.
Live jelly cam.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
These gold jellies, I really...
You know, I would love to have a tank of jellies,
but I just wouldn't want to maintain it.
Yeah.
But they're so cute.
Just get new ones each week.
And then there are 42 people watching the open sea cam,
which has music to it.
Wait, how can I hear that?
Oh, wait, that's coming through Matt.
Cool.
And there's a lot of bubbles happening here.
You can see some fish.
It's in a kind of deep, gray brackish water and some big old honkin fish.
Yeah.
Not for me.
Too much chaos.
Then 85 are watching the Bay Cam.
Yeah.
I'm not seeing any Seals home.
Jack.
The Bay Cam, this is a non-of-it.
I can go to a bay.
You know, and look.
There's no focus point here.
The focus is the rocks.
Yeah.
But there's not much action on those rocks from this distance.
I guess this is one of those, like, you would take a while, but you've got to earn it.
I don't like that.
The Avery Cam currently has three people watching it.
And I can see why.
It is a rotating camera, which seems fun.
But you know what?
I just want to be fixed in place.
We'll make a, like, decision.
Yes.
What is the best angle?
But I like the little flowers in the dunes.
Okay, so we're looking at an enclosure.
Yes.
Yeah, I've seen some birds walking around, but this one does not delight me.
Also, I mean, like, I don't see fish every day.
I see birds every day.
I'm kind of like, okay.
The shark cam has nothing happening on it, but still has 170 views, I guess, just by the allure of sharks.
Shark cam, yeah.
The kelp forest is by far my favorite.
The kelp forest is dreamy.
that is the look of our oceanarium in the bunker.
Yes.
Like thick,
rimmed windows that make you feel like you're in,
yeah,
a submarine.
But sister,
have you even cast your eyes upon the spider crab cam?
I have.
Okay, so wait,
just quickly.
Kelp cam is like you're in a mansion
looking out onto like a kelp forest.
So it's got really tall ceiling height windows
and like slowly swaying in the current,
kelp stalks.
And then the live spider cam, spider crab cam is like...
When a whale's life ends.
Its body often sinks to the seafloor, and a new story begins.
The whale's nutrient-rich remains, called a whale fall, attract hungry scavengers galore,
sustaining an ecosystem around it for decades.
And that's, of course, the Japanese spider-quake.
They're calling the spider crabs gangly.
The gangly glorious giants of the waterfall, whaleful community.
They're not wrong.
I wouldn't.
Look at those long legs.
Long lally legs.
Yeah.
But I don't think there's much meat on that whale bone left at all.
Yeah, where do you even get a whale for your enclosure?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I like this one, spider crab.
But yes, the kelp forest is undeniably incredible.
And then the otters, obviously having fun, but it feels too much like big brother.
Yeah.
We're looking at the outside of their enclosure, and I don't want to see outside.
No, I want to be underwater watching them dance around in whimsy.
But Otters are so cute.
Yeah.
The ferrets of the sea.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Can you believe the open sea cam?
What?
Just bubbles.
Uh-uh.
Too many bubbles.
So are we doing the kelp forest cam?
Yeah.
Kelp, oh, it's just changed.
Okay.
Actually, I've just gone back into kelp forest cam reporting live from the kelp forest.
And they've changed perspective.
And now I'm feeling sick.
This camera's moving.
Yeah, but there's a lot of kelp.
A forest of it, you might say.
Yeah, but mama, this swaying motion is making me feel ill.
Hmm.
I think maybe the cam is stationary, but that's the sway of the kelp.
Oh, my God, you're right.
Yeah.
No, I hate this.
Yeah, that kind of does make me feel sick.
Ew, I'm feeling ill.
I'm feeling ill looking at the fucking Monterey
Bay.
Let's suggest that there's...
I know that it's called a current,
but that looks like wind underwater.
We also needed the framing.
You need some dots on the screen.
Yeah, we needed the frame of the windows
to kind of give it context.
Matt, do you know that you've changed lives
with that dot stuff?
I've had DMs about people turning it on.
I've turned it on.
Yeah.
I use it.
It's amazing.
It's good.
Although, if the camera's moving,
maybe your chair needs to be moving.
Maybe it won't be sick
if your chair is just slightly swing.
weighing from side to side.
Hmm.
Try that.
Hmm.
I'm trying it now.
Where is the Monterey Bay Aquarium?
In Monterey?
Like, obviously.
Which is where big little lies is.
Oh.
Why didn't they ever have an episode there?
Well, I think it's just the same, like, precinct.
Not precinct.
What is it?
Council?
In California.
She's from Monterey.
Wait, why do we have an American listener?
We have, like, 16% of our listeners are from America.
That's crazy.
What do you mean?
mean.
You just don't hear from them that often.
Well, finally.
They're reaching up.
Like, Nick or whatever.
It's always, they're always asleep when we put them out.
That's true.
We put them out in the day and they're asleep.
Wait.
I'm joking.
It's all right.
You can listen if you're from America.
I don't think we need any more jokes.
We've had enough jokes, things to.
Gentlemen.
Um,
Yeah.
So which one?
What's this prognosis?
Prognosis, negative.
Come on, you've teased us.
I think I am going to just say, despite my feeling ill now.
Yeah.
I love that kelp forest.
It's good.
And you know what?
It switched back to window mode.
Oh, good.
So that's good.
So we should leave some comments, actually.
Yeah.
Keep it on window mode XX.
You fucking idiots.
Wait, you can't comment, can you?
Yeah, where's the comment?
They saw us coming.
Comments turned off.
Discover the underwater forest.
At 28 feet deep, the Monterey Bay Aquarium's kelp forest is one of the tallest aquariums
exhibits in the world.
Get a diver's eye view of sardines, anchovies, leopard sharks, wolf fields, and hosts of other fishes
as they weave through the swaying fronds of kelp, just like they do in the wild.
Incredible.
Yeah, I like that.
So are we going to, like, should we put some kelp in the oceanarium and set up a camera?
Sure.
And that's how we're doing it.
Everyone can watch.
Yeah.
He made me watch.
Or are we setting up a live feed from the Monterey?
Yeah, what's left after the lightning deaths.
Yeah.
The lightning balls.
Yeah.
Ball lightning.
Well, which one?
That one.
The live feed?
So we're just putting the live feed.
feed in. Yeah. But should we put it next to the oceanarium? Yeah. Like it's the ocean zone.
Yeah. Okay. Well, I don't know what will be being broadcast by the time the bunker is up and running
and everyone else has suffered some really bad bruising from their exit wounds of electricity,
but... Don't you hate it when you get those bruises? Yeah. I believe. Um,
I saw a video of Famkei Janssen talking about Avengers Doomsday the other day,
saying like, the dude's like, I know you've been asked a thousand times,
so I'm not going to ask if you're going to be in Doomsday,
but like, would you like to be Jean Grey again?
And she was like, yes, now that I've lived a whole life and I experienced so many things,
which I think she was essentially saying so much misery,
that she could now bring so much more to that performance.
I was like, what a weird thing to say.
But I can't tell if she's had a lot of work done or if she's just aged in a fabulous yet curious way
because she looks different fabulous yet curious.
Well, but oh God, I love her.
I would love to see her in more stuff.
Do you think she's a good actress?
No.
Just want to look at her.
Yes.
Maybe you just need a live feed.
But like, don't she look curious.
Yes.
But I like it.
She kind of has
slight Mariska Hagetee vibes.
Oh, yes.
And such thin brows.
Yeah, she's maintained the brows.
Oh, yes.
Anyway, how fabulous.
Oh, she's Dutch.
I'd watch that.
And she's...
Yeah.
Anyway, a live feed to the Monterey Bay
kelp forest.
You're in.
You're in, baby.
Congrats.
We'll be right, bye.
Hello.
Dasha.
And welcome back, Leitner.
How are you feeling?
How?
What?
Not you.
I was asking the listener.
How are you feeling after all this?
Good, good.
God, we loved those two speakholes.
Such sweet, sweet people sharing your time with us and your insights.
New questions.
And I hope we've answered them for you here today on the show.
I think that there's something really special about this kind of engagement we're allowed to have.
Yeah.
A one-way conversation with you, our listener, wherever you may be.
Yeah.
Okay, so what are we going to do for our final topic?
I have two potential, but I feel like you've got one.
Oh, I was just going to make it about the Tamagotchi.
I was going to make it about the Tamagotchi.
Yeah, let's do it.
Well, I was, okay, so in the world of Tamagotchi Paradise, which is the game we're playing,
you can buy for your planet
various decor items
outfits for them to wear
things for them to adorn their body
and it's not unlike if you were going to buy
planet Earth a pair of sunglasses which I think would be very good
in the long run
like if Trump said tomorrow
they're going to make a giant pair of sunglasses for Earth
I might change my tune about that man
Like majority of the glass will be built over the United States
And it will block the most available sunlight
But it will make the earth look very funny
If you're in a satellite
Yeah
But yeah so
Which of these things that you can buy in the shop
In the world of Tamer
Yeah
Would we like to go into the bunker
Because you know
I'm sure these things are perplexing
Yes. And listener, I think we did describe this before, but this new gen of Tamaguchi is all about zooming in.
So you can zoom out to planet and then you can zoom into environment, then you can zoom in to Tamaguchi, and then you can zoom in to like DNA level.
Yes, go into the cellular level of your tama.
Yeah. So quite often you zoom all the way out to see your fabulously dressed up little planet Tamaguchi, which always has small beady eyes.
And big fat lips for kissing.
Big kissy lips.
Big kissy lips.
It would appear that everything in Tamagotchi land has kissy lips.
Some of the trees have kissy lips.
Even the rain clouds have kissy lips.
And I think like the question really is, I mean this, I think whatever decor item we get should go on to the outside of the bunker.
Yes.
Like should adorn the bunker.
Yes.
Because if we're going by the zoom metric.
And it's interesting the way that they've chosen.
like what, I don't know, kids want to see
as far as like, I wouldn't have picked all these things
to put into a shop.
But I'm going to talk you through the things that I have
and you can tell me if there are anyone point out, like stick out to you.
Would you like to see the planet wearing a witch's hat?
A jeweled headband.
A Shiratama plushy, that it can hold.
A water gun.
An apple hat that looks like the top of a red apple with a leaf.
An eggshell hat that looks like a broken egg shell over the head with kissy lips.
A lion dance hat that looks like, I don't know, a lion dance hat.
Yeah.
A light stick, which is just a lightsaber.
A planet ring, like the rings of Jupiter.
Yeah.
An Iro-catchi hat, which is like a little dolphin hat.
Yes.
Horns headband, like little devil horns.
You've bought so many accessories.
And chef's hat.
A fun little chef's hat.
You've bought so many of these things.
She's on it all the time.
In my inventory for hats, I have the eggshell hat, which is an absolute delight.
And then I too have the Irocatchy hat, which is like the little dolphin.
Then for eyewear, currently I only have available sweat, little beads of sweat.
But once you strike perfection, there's nowhere else to go.
That's why I haven't dared look at anything else.
Wait, what?
What have you been doing all this time, Zelda?
I'm not interested.
I keep saying things and I'm like, well, that doesn't improve on sweat.
I just want to have it as an option.
No, I don't.
I want to own these things.
What if one day you wake up and you're like, today's not a sweaty day?
Usually.
It's your mood the same.
Sorry, I was just reading from the shop.
I also have crepe hat.
I have the turban that you get from going to the relaxation planet.
What is a crap hat?
The what?
You've traveled.
Babe, you've got to travel.
I haven't collected enough poo yet to travel.
What you have?
No.
Also, am I crazy?
Did that star used to have kissy lips or is that new?
Have you killed something?
What?
Zedda.
What do you mean?
Did you kill Atama?
What do you mean?
Because when you kill them, they become stars in the night sky.
Shalda!
I don't know how that happened.
You have got to check in on your children.
I wanted my Tamagocchi's died.
Well, now you go, if you go into the...
the menu and it says stars, you can see its weeping faces and see its cause of death.
Wait, where's Tamastars?
Tamastars.
Yeah.
Click that.
Oh no.
Oh!
There it is.
What is it saying?
It's crying.
And what is it say for cause of death?
Um, cause.
Tama sick.
Yeah.
Sorry, dear.
I had work.
You got to get a Tamasitter.
I know, but you can't.
do it when the tamas asleep.
The artiste beret, the shell hat.
Oh, I can't believe I just exposed myself.
I hadn't told you about this.
Damn it!
The unicorn headband, the bow, the cap, the hat, which is like a top hat, a knit hat, which is like a beanie, a night cap, a non-la hat, a rococo hat, a lion dance hat.
Yes.
A Daruma suit.
Yeah.
And then the eyewear, similar, sweat, but I also have the fox mask, which is so cute.
And then for accessories, a bouquet of flowers, a gymnast ribbon, a paper fan.
I didn't buy the ribbon, and I regret that.
Yeah.
A four-leaf clover.
A stick, like a walking cane, a Shiro Tama Plushy, the water gun.
It's the only gun they offer.
which I'm really sad about.
Pillow, guitar.
You've got the pillow as well.
Gotchi coin, light stick, planet ring, and that's all.
They're all such a greedy guts.
You got everything.
I want to own everything.
I've got the stick is such a delight.
It's a very like show gals like and then the pillow has a little kishi face,
which makes me feel bad for sleeping on it.
But then I've got the light stick, which my sister just gave me.
this morning. You can transfer gifts in the new Tamagocchi's everyone. I saw it and I thought she has to
have this. Yes. Um, so what a lineup. Okay, so I love seeing a little planet with kissy lips
holding that dancing stick. That's hilarious. It is. You're laughing. But I am jealous of your
orbital rings. Yes. Because that's so planet coded.
None of these accessories read planet that I know.
I know.
I think that's, you know, I'm trying to make cohesive worlds as well.
Yeah.
Because you could also get like, you know, in your different biomes.
Yes.
You can get different kind of accoutrement, like a house.
Yeah.
A gotcha upon machine.
Balloons.
And they're all quite cute, but they don't go together.
You know, I'm trying to make something a coherent world.
So I've turned my jade forest into carnival town.
Yes.
And then I've turned to my.
regular land area into into the wild with Emile Hirsch.
So I have the yellow school bus, you know, that the, the Tamer can get inside and have
their last days, eat some berries, get very sick and die.
Then I also have the home sitting on the other side to kind of represent Marsha Gaye Harden,
wondering where her son has gone.
I see. And then in the underwater biome, I was just like, it could be beach themed.
And so there's, you know, a shade.
towel and kind of thing.
Yeah.
You know what I do wish that when you're in the field, you can zoom out but not permanently,
I want to see all of the accessories I've put out all at once.
Yeah.
That's okay.
Oh, I can't believe that star is because of that thing that die.
I can't believe you're killing things and you haven't traveled to another planet.
Zelda, it's really weird that you have, because you use the poop.
Collect more poops by clean poop.
I know, but I haven't got enough poops.
You should have been able to travel multiple times.
from now. Well, I've only got the two Tammas going, because that other one died.
Jelda.
Anyway.
Jelda!
What delight to you? What should we put in the bunker or around the bunker?
Orbital rings? I think it's got to be the orbital.
Audububle. Audububle.
Okay.
Orbital.
The eggshell hat is so delightful.
I mean, some of these things we need to have in real life, right?
Yes. Well, you've already got the sweat.
I am sweaty.
I'm so sweaty.
I don't know what to do about it.
Nothing.
I was speaking to Gabriella Labucci the other day at Drag Bingo in Seaford.
Shout out Seafood.
I asked them about Sammy the Seal.
They were all very upset.
Yeah.
Wait.
Catch on.
Sammy things.
And then when Gabriella later that night said,
number 25, Sammy.
the seal no longer alive.
People were actually upset.
Number 25, Sam and the Seel
don't longer alive. Yeah. And they
were going to write it. And I was like,
leave her be. She doesn't know.
She's not from here.
She doesn't understand what Sammy did for this town.
Oh my God. It does all together
under one. No, I want to know what's happening
with the investigation. Yeah. Okay.
So, any updates? Can I
can I, I do have an update.
Okay. So you know,
ovary, like overreaction. Yeah. Yeah, Devatron. So she, I think. Overey. Yeah. She lives down. Okay, so just
listen to the Sammy the Seal antics on this week's pod. She sent this. I don't know.
She's, look, we're all behind. As a potential girl, I feel like you should know about this.
And then she sent this screenshot of like Sammy the Seal Facebook page. And, and,
And these intense, like, like, oi, yeah, it's me, Sammy, the one you all sat behind for 45 minutes while I worked on my tan.
Figured it was time I made a page, seeing as half of you already rearranged your entire day around me,
thought I'd give you somewhere official to complain.
First things first, no, I would not be taking responsibility for your lateness.
Should have left earlier.
That's on you.
Secondly, I wasn't blocking the road.
I was occupying my space.
Big difference.
You lot act like you've never seen our bloke have a lie down before.
I found a nice, warm bit of asphalt settled in, and suddenly it's traffic chaos, and who do we call?
Relax.
It's called self-care.
I've been told I caused delays.
I prepare to think I've created an unexpected pause for reflection.
You're welcome.
Oh, my God, Sammy.
Give it a follow if you enjoy one.
watching a king operate on his own schedule.
And just remember, if you weren't stuck behind me,
I was simply allowing you to exist in my presence.
And then a seal emoji.
So it's this like sassi seal presence of this.
Okay, so a woman,
a woman known as Beck's unhinged reviews made a Facebook
where she wrote incredibly long posts from the perspective of the seal
as an extension of her regular account
where she writes incredibly long posts from the perspective of,
of a peninsula local.
Really quite fabulous stuff.
Also, when Sammy died, she got
cyber bullied because people were blaming her for some reason.
For creating like a negative persona
for Sammy. Yes.
Is that not incredible?
That is a very deeply local thing.
Right?
Good for that lady being crazy.
She's crazy.
I wonder where she'll put that energy now.
She'll find a new seal
to embody?
Well, similarly to that,
I did send Zelda
this a Facebook marketplace
ad
where someone was selling
their Tamaguchi Paradise
but they were selling
for like $25
and this was the description
they put under it
selling my Tamaguchi
paradise because I can't look after them
and my negligence keeps killing them
I don't know how to reset it
so sadly you will be able to see
all the Tamaguchi
that I have sadly killed
but a bonus is
it has a ton of
of food and toys, selling for cheap because I didn't buy it and there's some light scratches
on the plastic. We'll throw in batteries for free. Pay ID only because I want to buy my sheen
cart. Hopefully, whoever buys this will be a better parent than me, prayer hands, brackets.
Not selling to any children or to adults looking to buy for children. I am selling my
tamar because I am a bad parent. And the last thing my tamer needs is to be put in the hands of
some greasy kid who will probably go and kill it as well.
I love it. I want to go and buy it off them just so I can meet them.
I don't think you're the sort of candidate they're looking for.
You have a trail of bodies now. Stars in the night sky that will tell on you.
Oh my God.
I can't believe you killed Atama.
Hey, it kind of killed itself in a way.
By getting sick?
By not taking care.
of itself.
Matt, what would
what would Child Protective Services
say to you if you told them that?
It got sick.
They would say one more chance.
Yeah, yeah, one more.
I'm on the next chance and it's an octopus.
And what about this?
So apparently there's this thing called
plenty of fish.
Naturally, I thought, beauty.
Finally, an app dedicated to locating
Snapper squid and the occasional
unattended hot chip near the beer
signed myself up immediately.
Now look, I may have made a slight error in judgment because within 14 minutes,
I had 56 inboxes from women named Sharon, Deb, and Kazi, and then kissing emoji,
asking if I enjoyed long walks on the beach.
Respectfully, ladies, I literally live on the beach.
I am the walk.
Then apparently my bio didn't help.
Large sea sausage with a heap of stamina enjoys wet environments, night feeds, and aggressively
slapping himself on disband.
In hindsight, that one's on me.
Semi, you old cat.
One woman asked if I was emotionally available.
Dahl, I bark at seagulls and scream at jet skis for sport.
Another asks what I bring to a relationship.
Well, Cheryl, currently about 140 kilos of raw sex appeal
and the ability to inhale an entire squid without chewing.
If anyone needs me, I'll be deleting the app and returning to my natural habitat where I belong,
lying motionless on the beach
like a drop beanbag
while tourist whisper,
is it dead?
No, babe, it's just
vibing.
Stay moist.
Sammy.
I think that, yeah,
wherever this energy goes into the world,
I'm excited to follow it.
It kind of gives progress shock,
but kind of a bit more thought out.
Yes.
Yeah, which having said that,
I love you, Progress Shock.
On Instagram, you're very funny.
Never change.
Matt, do you know progress shark?
I don't.
No, well.
Is that like the Sorrento Sharks?
No.
But someone went and took a photo of that and sent it to me.
Why are people sending you things?
No one sent me anything.
You're unapproachable.
Oh.
No, they put it in the Discord.
They put it in the Discord.
Lacey just never checks the Discord.
I've checked the Discord.
Please go and join our Discord.
Okay.
Okay.
Wait, what are we doing?
We're leaving.
Wait, did we do a third topic?
Yes.
What did you choose?
The rings of Saturn.
Oh, yes.
Of course.
We're talking about tamered planet accessories.
Okay, so we have got some fabulous celestial rings around the bunker.
Then we have Matt.
The Kelp Forest Cam live feed from Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Of course.
Kelp Forest.
Thank you, lazy.
Yes.
And the horseman of the wig line.
Oh!
Oh!
Oh, I forgot.
What a trait.
Is this horseman replacing the other horseman?
No.
No.
We got two horsemen.
We'll get all four eventually.
You know about the comedian Jane Wick line?
No.
Maybe we could be...
The horseman of the wig line could be played by
Jane Wigline.
What is Jane Wigline?
Wickline from S&L.
Gene Wickline.
Kind of funny deadpan comedian.
Yeah.
Hmm.
Yeah.
I suppose it could be.
Okay.
Okay.
So the hostman of the Wigline played by Jane Wickline,
the Kelp Forest Live Feed from Monterey Bay Aquarium.
We encourage to go and check it out.
And the final one, the Rings of Saturn,
for our timer, which is not going to the hands of a greasy child.
Zelda has killed.
She's got blood on her hands.
Have you not killed any yet?
No.
Okay.
I thought you told me Zelda that you actually wanted her to die.
No, I wanted the pig one to die.
And unfortunately, that's the one that didn't die.
So I suppose that's what I get.
The wrong child died.
Oh my God, no, you are that mother.
What?
I wish it had been you that died.
I don't even go.
to that field anymore. I don't want to see it in the background.
Soon there'll be two bright stars in the sky.
Well, that one will die. The ones in the background die eventually?
I assume so.
Oh, I hope so.
But they become smiling stars if they're over a certain age.
Oh!
You just have sad star.
Oh, I see. Oh, that's good to know.
They're like waving at you from the distance.
I mean, like, I loved the way you were to me.
What is their lifespan like?
Well, you can have them.
I think people just have them for ages.
Wow.
Every day is a year.
Every day is a holiday.
You got to do a good job.
I'm trying.
Practice for your dog, your actual pet.
Yeah, true.
Oh yeah.
Did you get any messages about getting a dog?
Yes, I did.
What did they say?
Don't do it.
I don't want to expose anyone.
But a listener sent me a photo of,
oh, was it her sister's dog?
which was an Irish wolfhound puppy when they got it.
It was so cute.
Listen guys, I think it might be it.
Yeah.
Okay.
Matt, can you finish out this episode
but we're putting on drops of Jupiter?
Sure.
Okay.
With drops of Jupiter in the hair.
Tell me, did you make it do the Milky Way?
Did you do the milkie way?
The lights are faded
N-da-da-da-da-da
Tell me
This boom will blow
