Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello everyone. Hello, listener. Welcome to death to everyone. You've made us, and now you're going to break us. Dear listener. Yeah. My name's Zelda Moon. And I'm Lazy Susan.
Starting point is 00:00:44 Driving us around space today is Matt. Okay, ma'am. What? Hi. Oh, sorry, let me do an impression. Hi. Bazunga! Oh, he would.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Yeah. He'd talk about bazungas straight away. Can I ask you a really important question, Lazy? Yeah. What is a woman? one thing in this world that we need to get rid of? What is one thing in this world that we need to get rid of? That's such an interesting question.
Starting point is 00:01:11 I wasn't expecting that. It's a real pageant question. The one thing in the world we need to get rid of is eight. Eighth. Thank you, Victoria. Yeah. And what's the second thing? Slow walkers on football.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Correct. Old people, get out. Children, get out. People that have more than one friend, get out. Oh, on the one-than-one-friend thing. Can you not walk so wide? Four in a line? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:39 This isn't sex in the city. Right. Unless you are proving to me you have four different distinct points of view on love and dating in your 30s, then you don't get to walk in a line of four. Sanderson's sisters, they may walk three wide. If you're a witch who was killed 300 years ago and gets to come back for one night, I'll give you your grace for one evening. evening. Yes. But you know what? They do it generously because they do it on the road.
Starting point is 00:02:06 On the road. Yeah. And do they walk in the middle of the road. Well, they think it's a kind of river. They didn't have roads back then in Salem, despite the fact that they had them in, I don't know, Pompeii. They didn't have asphalt roads. It's the asphalt that... A frozen river. Can you not poke holes in hocus, pocus, please? No, how could I? Hocus pocus, too, however. Go for your life. And they're about to do a three?
Starting point is 00:02:33 I have seen horrific rumors of such a thing. I just think we need, I mean, listen, I've been on this, what is this? My agony, agony, aunt. This has been my agony aunt. This has been my hobby stick. Can I, I, I hate sequels and I hate reclows. Do you follow that Instagram account that's like where people find good sticks and they send them in? Oh, it's so good.
Starting point is 00:02:57 You should see some of those sticks. What do they like? Forked? sometimes and twisted with age and then miraculously found how cool is that listen I don't care about sticks most of the year but if I'm ever on a hike
Starting point is 00:03:11 I guess I never care about sticks speaking of sticks your microphone rod is like right in the way what's that about well I like it it creates a sort of it's splitting you in heart yes yeah it's quite creative isn't it
Starting point is 00:03:28 I can see you through the microphone stick, as we call it. Okay. What do you think about Moana live being grey? Do you care? Grey. Have you seen it?
Starting point is 00:03:42 Oh, the colour grey. There's all this like... Is it black and white? No, no. It's like just like Like Spider-Man noir. It's muted. You can have a colour version or a black and white version of Moana.
Starting point is 00:03:54 I watch things and I think too many colours. Really? Really? Oh, my eyes. The CGIR movies are too colourful. The cones on my eyes can't handle such a plethora of colours. And that's why I'm glad for the live action, where they subdue things a little bit more.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Really? No. But you know what? Yeah. Since making our show, The Witchy Girls, now available on Comedy Republic Originals on YouTube. Yes. We did a color grade with our D.O.L.L.L. Lincoln, who's an incredible talent. Dopp.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Dopp, Dopp, director of photography. He is a director of photography for feature films and as such has a cinematic eye. And the thing that happens in cinematic films is that they can be dark and light, you know? But for TikToks, YouTube's and Netflix things, everything needs to be calibrated
Starting point is 00:04:53 so it can be viewed on any type of shitty phone screen at any time of day. And so when we graded our show, it's graded quite dark. Like, it's allowed to be a dark and in places. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then when I see it on my phone sometimes,
Starting point is 00:05:11 I'm like, shit, that's so dark. But it's only because, like, the brightness is down. Phones are crazy, and you need to just make everything super bright, which is what happens with these Disney Netflix-y remates. Bright. Not a crazy range.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Anyway, I don't care about it. I was just asking. Moana. Moana. I'm glad the rock is getting some work, though. I was worried for a second. Really? He's trying to do double versions of every movie so that he has a double work.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Wait, but he wasn't, was he? He was in the cartoon. You're welcome. That's he sang that song, yeah. Oh, wow. What? Yeah, that was his voice. Rock and then rock.
Starting point is 00:05:53 Yeah, he did the voice, and then he was like, Rock on rock. We've got to make the live version. too. Who better? That's why it happened so quickly because he's like, I'm not getting any younger. Yeah. Let me do it.
Starting point is 00:06:03 I'm not getting any bolder. Did the pig come back? Piggy. Not to know. Pig played pig. I don't think that Ashley Eckstein would have been the right choice for Asoka. Just saying that one more time. Oh, Zelda, how are you?
Starting point is 00:06:19 I'm good. Here we are on our podcast. You can say whatever you want. All right. Say whatever you want. Be honest. Be honest. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:28 I did that AIDS fundraiser. No, Thorne Harbour Sexual Health fundraiser. Yeah. And I didn't say that all night. That would have... They gave me a microphone. And they're like, we're providing your generous donation or bidding on the silent auction can contribute much needed funds to sexual health awareness and sexual health testing in the queer community.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Yeah. And I was just on the knife's edge the entire night. Oh, my God. The players was exclusive. exclusively Spice Girls just by coincidence. Yes. They were asking for British celebrity impersonations, but you resisted.
Starting point is 00:07:03 I resisted. I didn't quote the 73 questions with Victoria Beckham where she says, if there was one thing, you could change about the world, what would it be? And you say, AIDS! And that's good. I've been going down a bit of a Spice Girl's path. I think there are two
Starting point is 00:07:19 recurring subjects that are going to depth seasonally. Yeah. So once every year, I'll have a 9-11 time where I'll just... You are American. It just pops up in my feet and I have to like dive into a hole being like, oh, stop saying like. I've been, I'm really noticing that I'm saying like a lot.
Starting point is 00:07:42 She listened to five minutes of the podcast and realized that she's a monster. How listener, are you listening to this? This is unlistenable. Didn't you hear how many times I say it? I don't, well, no, I don't notice flaws in others. Only myself. Now. Tell us another one. I dive into a deep crevasse of 9-11 content. I want to hear phone calls from the planes.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Jesus. I want to see footage of the towers coming down. I don't know why. And maybe it is just it speaks to a deep part in my American side of my body. Yeah. Heritage. Heritage. And also, you know, this year in particular, it's a very specific end of global drag
Starting point is 00:08:21 race versus the world is happening on September 11th. Is that when the finale is? The finale is on September 11th. So depending on who is crowned, could be another tragedy. Of a similar proportion. Yes. And then the other thing that happens
Starting point is 00:08:39 but once a year is the tragedy of the breakup of the Spice Girls. Yeah. And I was diving into Jerry Horner and her story. Jerry. And her and Melby's lesbian love affair. Is that confirmed?
Starting point is 00:08:53 Yes. By Melby. Wow. But isn't that sad? That it didn't work out for them? That they're so, like, fiery and were in love with each other. Yeah. Like, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:09:07 I saw Spice Girls News this week, and it was in the shape of Shirley Manson from Garbage, I think, apologizing for being such a crone to them in the 90s. Wait, is that true? Was it someone else? One moment. Was it Shirley Manson? That's kind. I like that.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Just go with it. Just back yourself. Shirley. Say it as though you mean it. Space. Girls. Outer space girls. No one's going to fact check to you in real deal.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Oh yeah, it was Shirley Manson. I remember details. Fuck you. Okay, Zudder. How's your week been? Good. I found out that Shirley Manson apologized to the Spice Girls
Starting point is 00:09:40 being such a croon to them in the 90s. You've been waiting for that. You've been begging. What else? Um, I don't know. What else is going on? We had a delightful breakfast this morning. We did have breakfast.
Starting point is 00:09:52 We had a little there, huh? I had a very thick, thick shake. Yes, my adult friend Got to a thick shake You know, when I... Every cafe we go to. Yeah, well the thickshake's really good. So, why wouldn't I?
Starting point is 00:10:07 When I went up to order it, I was chitchadding to the diva who worked there and I was like, oh, you know, I think I'll get the coffee thickshake. And he recommended this, like, other one. He said it was his favorite. And I said, I trust you. If you're the kind of person who has... a favorite thick shake?
Starting point is 00:10:27 Yes. I believe you. Like, I've tried them all. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not saying there aren't other freaks in the world. You've got to be careful when you trust people. My assumption is not that there, you know, there is plenty of people out there that have done insane things.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Speaking of insane things, today when I got my Uber to come in meet y'all, I like got the little notification of like, insert name here. is coming to your house in five minutes or whatever. And I was like, ooh, you look familiar. You look like a gay guy I know. Why do I, why do I know that? Wait, what? And I was going through my like little roller decks in my manned.
Starting point is 00:11:11 And then I was looking up his name on Instagram, trying to confirm like, how, how do I know this person? I know this person. And then we got it, I got in the car and like have two seconds of like, oh hi yeah yeah and he looks around and he's like oh hi it was our friend's friend who like i know but like haven't had like extensive conversations with or anything but that was quite cute and so weird and he was like i very very rarely have ever picked up anyone i know and they let gay guys drive ubers yeah and he was wearing cargo pants what i know is that loud apparently stuff in the pockets
Starting point is 00:11:49 it i mean they were so voluminous but who knows it could be an emotion were they jangling wait Why were you sitting in the front seat? No, but I can, I don't need to know what kind of... You lent forward? No, I'm very tall. I can see. Well, did he have a nice calf? Did you get your binoculars out?
Starting point is 00:12:06 Was it tidy? Matt! Did you get your binoculars out? Binoculars for what? Look at his cargo pants. Matt! Sorry, I do. Matt is very sexually inappropriate.
Starting point is 00:12:18 I use my binoculars for bird viewing only. Okay, I'm sorry. Yeah. What else? What a fun time? You're telling me you caught an Uber and we had breakfast? Yeah. I like it.
Starting point is 00:12:35 I liked the combo of his hair. Oh, yeah. He had a grey and silver quiff. Yes. Like a black and, it was mottled. It was black and silver. Uh-huh. And then an orange mustache.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Yeah. I think that's quite a cool combination. Yeah. You don't see that often, do you? and collect it. Oh my God, I'm really like, listener, we're banking up so many episodes. I'm out of stories.
Starting point is 00:13:01 I feel like my whole, all I do is go to work and then record this podcast. There's no time to collect anything new. New things have happened. We shot all my looks for drag race yesterday. Yeah, but that's something that happened to you this week. You helped me. Yeah, somebody helping you is what happened to me.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Story of my fucking life. We had a fun journey together. Yeah, we did. Jelik got me in and out of gloves. Yes. In and out of pants. That was a whole new dressing experience. Yes.
Starting point is 00:13:28 I think like using my full body weight against your body to yank the tightest gloves that Satan has ever made. Janjus is not Satan. Well, at that time. She's just in running for the title. Yes. No, those gloves were amazing once they're on. Oh my God. They're tight, tight, tight to the body.
Starting point is 00:13:46 But it does take a lot. And in reflection, getting ready for doing the, these photos and everything made me realize what a Herculean task it was to get dressed on set of drag race. And I definitely did call on some of the helpers, like some of the incredible makeup women that worked on the set. But it was insane that I didn't have like a dedicated person. An assistant. Yeah. I always thought that it was quite like, quite chic and a bit too much
Starting point is 00:14:28 to have an assistant to help you get ready but now I'm like you need that yeah but also you need it to be someone you're comfortable with totally because it's
Starting point is 00:14:39 yeah someone with your best interest at heart yeah yes but yes we yeah did that photo shoot so that as all the episodes come out there might be
Starting point is 00:14:52 well as you heard in the Max episode. That was the moment where I was convinced to do photos. Yes. And now I'm convinced that I'm going to sell them as a sequel to my lookbook that I sold in the wake of season one, except in a limited edition. And I'll start doing pre-sales for them at the end of, at the beginning of the season. Because I think that's camp.
Starting point is 00:15:15 So I have two new pieces of merchandise. It's nothing crazy like for when the season was airing. like like enamel pins oh that's why you made that sound yeah sorry I'm just trying to train my body I need to stop saying let it go
Starting point is 00:15:34 you think yes do you think anyone cares no now they're gonna think about it if they did we wouldn't be award winners that's I'll just do a little buzz sound every time you say it I mean we do we could just search the word like and delete it you know in that
Starting point is 00:15:49 Simpson's episode where they all sit around in a circle and like buzz each other when they say something or whatever. The family therapy thing. Yeah. Maybe you and I should just get that and we can just zap each other. Maybe we should do that for the live. Well, yeah, for the live, but when we do video podcast.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Yeah. Maybe that's what we need to build into the set. A shock collar. Yeah. We'll get a citronella collar to start. A citronella collar. Um, c. Ambifah.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Um, what's your word, Zelda, that you say too much of, do you think? Like. Oh, like as well. I say it all the time. I think it's because when I talk, as I tell a story, I puncture. See, I can't point this stuff out to the listener because then it will be all you hear. Just don't listen to it. Like when, see, when Trisha Peters on the Frenemones podcast was saying, or was pointed out by Ethan Klein, that she says, you know, mm.
Starting point is 00:16:51 At the end of something. She goes like, I was going out to have some fun today. And he said, you know, at the end of any time you say something, you go, that's a weird one. That's really weird. I'm going to have so much fun today. That's a Trisha Pettis thing. Wait, should I be more into Trisha Pettis?
Starting point is 00:17:15 That's hilarious. Do you not know the majesty of Trisha Pater's? Like, yeah, but like not that. You need to be more into Tricia Peters. Yeah, that's good. I like that. Hey, we have a speak pipe. Oh, fuck yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Okay. Anyway. Also, do you know how many weird spam emails we get that are like, okay, so listen up. This is the kind of weird, yeah, I don't know how they find us emails. Your podcast appears in platform searches as the title of the email. Hi there. I'm Andrea from Pod. We track podcast ranking searches from Apple, Spotify, Amazon, etc.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Your podcast is appearing on Spotify research results. And then, okay, the key words, Liz, humorous bits, pool accessories. And then on Spotify, the three keywords are moon goddess, death god, and death cheetah. This is just AI generated. Matt, yes. Hear this woman out. She's got a point. Leave Andrew are alone.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Death cheetah. Death cheetah. We're number three when you search for that. Damn it! How much more do I have to give to this fucking career before I am number one on death cheetah? Bring in the cheetahs. Anyway, they hack at them all the time.
Starting point is 00:18:37 They're very strange. I don't... I think you should spend most of your time responding to these emails, really. Seeing where they go. Seeing where they go. Okay. So, I don't know. Lazy, should we destroy the planet?
Starting point is 00:18:51 Yes, it's time. You do it. Yes, I do have one today because I've done a bit of research because I wanted something new to paralyze you with fear. So, I give you oceanic onoxia. Oh. Long before the sun burns out, Earth's oceans are actually at risk of severe ocean depletion. Oxygen depletion.
Starting point is 00:19:15 As the sun grows brighter and temperatures rise, water holds less oxygen. If phytoplankton, which produce much of the planet's oxygen, die off due to shifting ecosystems, the ocean could turn into a stagnant toxic environment, much like this podcast, plunging the planet back into oxygen-poor state it experienced billions of years ago. Protect your phytoplankton. I wonder if then organisms will start to eat carbon dioxide again. Time or tell. Yeah, I hope so.
Starting point is 00:19:53 Because that's what they used to eat. And then their byproduct was oxygen. And they made all that oxygen for us. And then they made all that oxygen and fucked themselves. Yeah. Whoa. Speaking of Gorganisms, don't you just think that Gorgonzola cheese is too much? Stop making fun of my speech impediment.
Starting point is 00:20:10 I do. I went through a phase where I really wanted to get into like more hardcore blue cheeses. But like Gorgonzola. Like, you know what to get? You know, when you get four cheese, like, yoki or whatever, the Gorgonzola is, it's actually too much. It is so rich. Yeah, I don't, that's the thing, it becomes too rich for me at a certain point. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:36 So, of the Gorgonites, which is your favorite? Of the Gorgon, what's a Gorgonite? Insaniac, Slamfist, scratch it and punch it, Troglacan, Frankenstein, Ockon. I think mine is ocula from small soldiers. Gordogonites. They take on the small soldiers. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I love those small soldiers.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Of course you do. Ooh, hey, this one looks like a cheetah. Cheetah death. I don't know the answer to that question, but I like the eyeball one. Yeah, that's ocular. That's ocular. I choose ocular. Me too.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Ocula? You're in. You're in the bunker. And with that, we'll be ready. but Nata. Hello. Hello.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Listener. It's time for a speak hole. It's been like two weeks since we had a speak hole. Yes. So can you start speaking into the hole again, please? Please speak into our hole.
Starting point is 00:21:40 It's good. Sometimes. Hmm. Now, this is from Lees, liese, Lizzie, Lizzie, Liz. Liz.
Starting point is 00:21:53 I think it's Lies. Lies. Lies? Yeah. Lies. Is that someone's name? Lies? I used to say I called Liza.
Starting point is 00:22:01 Eliza Lys. Eliza Lys. Her name was Eliza, and we called her lies. Okay. You called her a liar. Listen, it is now time. I'm going to spin a plate, okay? All right.
Starting point is 00:22:20 Hi, lazy. Hi, Zelda. Hi, space car driver Matt. My name is Lise. Hi. I am a long-time listener and first-time speak-holler. I have been going down a rabbit hole recently with my sister. How did you fit?
Starting point is 00:22:35 He was also a listener of the pod about flash games from the early 2000s that no longer exist. And remembering sites like mini-clip, fun brain, pop trupica and pointless sites and trying to remember our favorite ones. Some of them that we have remembered are like snowdrift. raft wars that were both on mini-clip. Also Skywire, Skywires one and two. Also love remembering back to my earliest days on the computer using the ABC Kids Playground website and playing Saddle Club Jim Kana and also Billy Cart Racing where you could build a little billy cart and then roll it down the hill. And I would like to know which Flash game from the early 2000s gets into the bunker. Rose and Camelia
Starting point is 00:23:26 Thanks, love you, bye Is Rose and Camelia? What's Rosen... Tell me what that is. Mama, Rosen Camelia First off, I'm not your mama.
Starting point is 00:23:36 My name's Bianca. It's a Japanese flesh game from that era or whatever where you play as like a diva who's like working her way up through the matriarch's house in the, you know,
Starting point is 00:23:53 old old times. And you must slap! the Duchess and you must win the slapping fight and then if you beat her then you've got to slap her her you know manager or whatever and you go through the property and slap your way to victory I have been shown this by you
Starting point is 00:24:14 because I'm obsessed with it it's incredible and the art style is so beautiful but there's that and then there's the like Final Fantasy Joke-off games where you would joke off there was one for Waka and there was one for snow and I think there's one for Orrin where like
Starting point is 00:24:33 I don't know they're like there and then you like click on their crutch and then things start to happen and then you got to like it's like a like rapid clicking game right and if you keep clicking at the right time Walker's going to come everywhere I'll show you a photo
Starting point is 00:24:51 this is a kid show you can't just keep clicking on the crutch. Yeah, hang on, Walker. Okay, I don't know where I was for the internet revolution because my knowledge is so patchy. Neo-Pets. And I, yeah, played Neopets for like two seconds,
Starting point is 00:25:08 but I got bored so quickly. My number one game was MSN, a game of social, social intrigue where you could, you know, find out who had a crush on who, rumble and block, you know rumble you've had to rumble people sometimes
Starting point is 00:25:27 what if they were taking a while to get back to you give them a poke or that laughing diva that would come up and go that's why gay's love RuPaul now they just think they're on MSN again my short experience with Flash games was there was one
Starting point is 00:25:50 called I think it was called Quop where you were a runner in a race and each one of the pieces, like you Q-W-O-P, and they each controlled one part of the leg. And you had to run and sprint, but basically your body immediately went limp because you had to be so in sync
Starting point is 00:26:13 that you had to control the foot and the leg and the knee or something at the same time. What? It was really hard. It sounds really complicated. Yes. But it was like one of those, It looked, it just looked really funny.
Starting point is 00:26:28 To try and do. And also like Club Penguin, I remember having like a, like a week-long love affair with. But that wasn't really a game. That was just like a talk to better about it online. There was a throwing snowball game. Oh, on Neopeds. No, it was like a flash game. But that is something I played.
Starting point is 00:26:55 One moment. Do you know what I'm talking about? Throwing snowballs. Snowball flash game. Hmm. My favorite NeoPitz flesh game was Hussie bounce. Hang on, let's send you a photo. And you were a hussy.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Zelda, what were you doing? What? What are you? Who are you? And then, like, you're on a, you're on a, like, seesaw. Yeah. And you have to, like, choose when to, like, Like, you've got to time your jumps so that you catch the little donuts that spell out Hussie.
Starting point is 00:27:32 And they make, they sounds like, and if you get some little like, like, I'm going to plot the sound effects. That's actually the most perfect impersonation of Hussie bounce. Have we just found your snatch game? Wait, Hussie. Like, Sticky Tina is so sticky that recently she found out, and then you're there. Hussie, what do you think?
Starting point is 00:28:02 I just wrote down, Oh, it's going to be like with the background music. I'll, you say something now. Oh, well, listen, I think the internet is a crazy place. Oh, did you hear that? That wasn't me. Isn't that really good? Hussie.
Starting point is 00:28:22 Is that where you learned? They were a pet. They were a pet. They were a pet. Oh. I was imagining someone a bit like a hussy, like a slutty. Oh, a hussy? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:31 No, it wasn't hussy bounce. Oh, I thought it was like, I was imagining a buxom young co-ed. On neopets? Well, I missed that part of the story. And as she bounced and you spelled out the word hussy, she went, No, it's so much worse. It's these little creatures. I accidentally ended up on furry talk recently.
Starting point is 00:28:55 Oh. And all the fairies were talking about. Accidentally. Well, now that I engaged, the TikTok thinks that I want more. But I don't think there's parts of the furry community where it doesn't seem like there's anything sexual involved at all. It's like, they just want to do real-life neopets. They want to hussey bounce. And they were asking them in this video, which is probably why I'd end up in my feed because it's so potent.
Starting point is 00:29:27 but how they clean their fur suits. Oh. And they were like, I use the bath method. I use the bath method. And it was cutting between all these different furies. I use alcohol and spray. Oh. And I use, and they all use this type of like wet back.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Oh. To clean the fur. Oh. Or the bath method. Is that just them in the fur suit in a bath? No, they take the whole suit, put it in the bath. I assume removing the LEDs or whatever shit they've added. And then watch the water turn brown.
Starting point is 00:30:06 Oh. And then hang it out to dry. But with the wet back, it douses them with water as it sucks it out. Yeah. And then it seems that that's the way you keep it tidy. You wouldn't want to look at those suits with a UV light, hey. Well, that's my question, though. these people didn't seem to be fucking and sucking in the suits.
Starting point is 00:30:29 They just wanted to be at a furry con. Yeah. I just want to crawl around. They just want community. In the dirt. Well, I think that being on a leash with... Matt, are you shaming furies? Being on a leash with a pup mask feels distinct from being in like a neo pet outfit.
Starting point is 00:30:46 I'm a wolf with pink fur. Oh yeah, yeah. And I know that there is definitely a sexual component for some of these kids. But some of them just seem to want to be like, I'm growler. that's a hussy what's growler do you mean growlath no i i mean that they would have invented
Starting point is 00:31:06 their first song as madonna encouraged them to do in her new song what's the line interstellar spaceship you know the start of that same no okay well you're not taking it seriously here we are hey i take confessions too very seriously
Starting point is 00:31:26 Do you think the... Do you think the... I also liked... Sorry, you say. Do you think the games have gotten better in the world or worse? Video games, by and large. Trying to put aside your own attachments and nostalgia. Do you mean like the mechanics of the games or more like the storylines of the games?
Starting point is 00:31:50 I guess just whole cloth, are they better? I think, like, yes. I think the user experience of video games these days is better. Which is nice because the, like, so many games, like, earlier, like, 90s, 2000s games could be a bit broken. Yeah. Like, if you try to play the original Tomb Raider, she's, like, flipping around and falling off ledges when you're not meaning to, like, control schemes and stuff are much more refined now. So, like, the gameplay experience is better. Therefore, that aspect is better.
Starting point is 00:32:25 Yeah. And if, I don't know. And I mean, there's just such a plethora of games. And I think like indie studios can exist now. Yes. Whereas that was a much harder thing back in the day. You know what's funny is it feels like there was two eras like when computers first happened. And there were a lot of indie game developers like Prince of Persia or whatever, the original.
Starting point is 00:32:52 And people just developing on their home computers. these very low megabyte, kilobite, floppy disk games that they were trade and sell and blah, blah, and then the huge industries that sprung up around like gaming, at home gaming. And that kind of killed the indie game because you couldn't just like port something onto Nintendo 64. It was really sealed. Yeah. And then now it's kind of gone back the other way. Well, accessibility, right? Like, at the same time when like the consoles, like, when consoles were super dominant, there was no home computer.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Then we had home computer that had like the early days of, yeah, like more of an indie market because you could make something and you wouldn't have to, yeah, like have it published and go into physical production, which is just like so expensive and distribution and everything. But then once online truly landed on home consoles, I think that's when like the real resurgence and like, yeah, indie gaming became such a thing because not everyone's a PC gamer because it's so embarrassing. Yeah. Do you know any PC gamers? Yeah. What do they like?
Starting point is 00:34:11 Hot. Really? Yeah. What do they do? Like set up LED lights in the background and then. yeah I yeah
Starting point is 00:34:24 PC gaming is just such a like set up commitment I don't have like a desk for that you know and I won't well how could you they're all covered with fish tank yes
Starting point is 00:34:34 yeah hmm you could turn your drag studio into like a PC gaming room gamer den yeah but I don't I don't need that I don't want that
Starting point is 00:34:45 Zelda you should become a famous drag Twitch streamer nah it's a bit light What do you mean it's a bit late? Like Twitch streamer in 2026? Wait, what is people doing now? Well, I don't know. But like, no, I don't want to do that.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Zelda, get real. Get real. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, maybe. Okay, well, if this is your commitment at day one, I don't think we've got a big chance of you becoming a huge Twitch streamer. Yeah. Fuck.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Well, cross it off the list. All right. Crossy off the list. Um, which flash? game gets into the bunker. So I never quite understood what the software of Flash was and what happened when it died on the internet. Because obviously now Flash isn't really supported anywhere online.
Starting point is 00:35:32 Well, it didn't, it got bought by Adobe and then it like got melted into the Adobe suite. And then it kind of became obsolete in the end. Like I don't think you, like people aren't really producing Flash. games anymore. I watched a lot of flash shows, like Strong Bad and Salad Fingers. Gay man. I'm not gay. Yes, they were all good.
Starting point is 00:36:02 Teen Girl Squad. I loved that. Princess. I downloaded Teen Girl Squad onto my iPod Nano. Yeah. And I would watch that. Oh, yeah. I should say, this is funny.
Starting point is 00:36:12 I can't wait to watch it again, but smaller. I fucking loved burnt face man. And zero punctuation. that game reviewer. Oh, yeah. Ugh, God, what do you mean? Why do I watch that so much? I know.
Starting point is 00:36:26 Do they still make stuff? I think so. How could you, like, if that's become your main income, how could you ever go back? Can I tell you about this? Go on, one embarrassing thing. You know, that, like, cringissimo, um, Canadian Lego person that I watch, who, like, has that hidea-old. hideous warehouse with his ugly, poorly scaled city.
Starting point is 00:36:53 And the real clouds. Yes. Oh, I hate that. Real clouds, they should be made out of Lego. They should be, yes. God damn it. He's been moving all of his shit back into his basement. What happened?
Starting point is 00:37:07 But he hasn't said why. But I feel like in an episode or two, it's going to be like, I'm selling the warehouse. Because? I think like the videos just aren't getting enough views. Like, you just can't afford to maintain that. I've been seeing this. a bit. I watched Jazza, that Mormon from Adelaide
Starting point is 00:37:22 lose half of his warehouse. Downsizing. His YouTube is not going well. So what are people watching instead? People are not it's decentralized. It's leaving YouTube. It's leaving YouTube. To ding-tong. I don't know if that's true.
Starting point is 00:37:38 I think it's just the generation slip has happened. Yeah. When your core audience leaves YouTube and goes and has children and alive. Yeah. Yeah. They leave you for dust. and then you're alone in a warehouse you can't afford.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Throwing about Lego and painted you know what I've had a maze of clouds out of Lego. Things might have gone a little bit different. Well, he would have had one more viewer. Yeah, maybe. For one video. Yeah. But that does make me sad, the rug pool.
Starting point is 00:38:08 It's sad. Because they represent the kind of millennial optimism of our day. I can do anything. We don't have to get a real job. we can just be YouTubers. Yeah. Sorry, honey.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Maybe you can for three to five years. And then? The crash. Yeah. You're not the hot soup anymore. He's like selling off. He's like selling off all like sets and downsizing his collection. He used the word liquidating in this week's.
Starting point is 00:38:38 Oh. Yeah. Oh, well. Yeah. You could only Trisha Peters can maintain a long-term career. She's like those antelope that survived near Chernobyl. You know? Kind of.
Starting point is 00:38:54 Life finds a way if you are mutated enough. Do you know the difference between antlers and horns? Hmm. Antlers fall off? Yes. Every season. Yeah. But do you know that they have a memory?
Starting point is 00:39:07 The antlers. Yeah. But they grow back the same. Yes. Yeah. But even if they're cut and changed, they will remember the cut. How cool is that? That's insane.
Starting point is 00:39:17 I actually didn't know about the cup part. Yeah. That's cool. There was a man who was telling me on the internet that he was doing a long-form antler study as part of his University of Michigan or something, PhD. A man that was telling you. Are you saying you watched a video of someone? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:38 This man was telling me and only me. And some hunter came to him. I don't even think it was a hunter. a man that was in the wild quite a bit with 20 years of antlers from each progressive season of this one specific deer population. Yeah. And it became like a very important asset in this long form research because it was like we would never have this kind of ability to capture 20 years of an ongoing study into this really specific niche part of animal science. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But because this man has saved all these just in his shed year after year, we were able to plot out these things and discover this really interesting fact about how antlers remember trauma.
Starting point is 00:40:29 That is so interesting. The buddy keeps the score. Does it ever? Can I tell you about someone who was talking to me last night? Through YouTube. Yes. We have so many friends talking to us. It's a woman.
Starting point is 00:40:44 Oh, Mama. this woman was buying, um, what's like, oh, one moment. Oh, Zelda, come on. No, it's a word that I'd never heard before. Topiary. No. Oh, apiary. Apiary.
Starting point is 00:41:02 Hmm. No, it was, um, she was doing, she was like buying rings. Rings. Off of, like, sheen or whatever. Mm. And then like doing the like pressure test to ensure that they, oh my God, where is this word? I can't tell this poor explanation while trying to think of this fucking obscure word. Do you like this listener?
Starting point is 00:41:28 Is this what you're listening for? Hey, people have said this is our best season yet. Yeah, this is the mid-season lull though. Right now. This is where shit gets real. Sheen wedding ring, Mozanai. I can't be expected to remember the word mozern. You didn't even know that was a word.
Starting point is 00:41:46 It's like that knockoff booty boot diamond. All right. Well, I suppose you do know what it is. Anyway, so she was buying like sheen rings. Moisanite. Moisanite. So then like do the little like pressure test. Yes.
Starting point is 00:41:59 Where you like push like a pen into a diamond to see if it's really a dammit. Yeah. And so many of them are glass. Wow. Yeah. $25 ring. And then sometimes evilly like the queen ring in the middle of the, like the queen gem in the middle of the ring was mosenite and then the rest were glass.
Starting point is 00:42:19 But they were still very sparkly. Yeah, well glass still sparkles. Yeah. It just doesn't have the hardness. No. But you can buy lab grown diamonds on Ali Express that are real diamonds. Yeah. Yeah. Isn't that crazy?
Starting point is 00:42:32 That is crazy. I want that. Yeah, me too. Should we be diamond? Diamonds? Emma Frost represent. I don't know that I could represent. for Emma Frost.
Starting point is 00:42:45 You couldn't. We don't have the rack. Yeah. Yet. Giant tits. Yeah. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:53 So to narrow it down. Yeah. I think we should do the one that you do that. I think we should do what I thought your version of that Neopets game was. Oh, the hussy bounce. Hussie bounce. But they're still on a seesaw and they're still catching donuts that fall from the sky. Honey, I saw girls next level.
Starting point is 00:43:09 Girls next door. Oh my God. I listened to that episode. You were telling me to listen to it. evil gay guy who was dating the evil gay guy from American apparel. He wasn't dating him. He was his child. He was enslaved by him.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Holy shit. So there was, what is Johnny Makeup? Yeah, Johnny Makeup. Johnny Makeup who was the, like, club kid. Yeah. Gay guy who was in L.A. around the same time as the Girls of the Playboy Mansion and was living at the American Apparel store.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Yeah. Like mansion. They had a man dove, the contentious owner of American Apparel or CEO, let this gay guy live at this, I don't know, mansion, creepy mansion. And at the same time, he kind of became a fixture of the girls at the Poitbo Mansion and specifically the Kendra show. Yeah. And they had him on the pod and he had the most ridiculous life story. actually found him to be fascinating. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:44:17 He, like, gay guys of that era are built different. Yeah. To be openly and out gay in like L.A. Yeah. In the early 2000s when you were nothing more than just a cliche. Yeah. Crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:32 But when they kick off the interview and Holly is like, so where are you from? And he's like, I'm from that town. Right. In the middle of the south. with the never ending fires. Because it was in a coal, a coal seam. Yeah, they were, like there was a mining town.
Starting point is 00:44:52 And then, yeah, like there was a mining accident, but the mine was full of coal. And so all of the tunnels under this town erupted into flames. And there's enough coal there to fuel the fire for like hundreds of years. So the town had to be evacuated. And it's like a no-go zone because underneath the earth is a burning. burning fire that cannot be put out. Burning coal fire that comes up through vents.
Starting point is 00:45:19 Yeah. In the town. And that's where the inspiration for Silent Hill came from, I believe. How cool is that? A smoky little town. But the most hilarious thing is that, plus this faggot came out of there. Like, the gayest guy in L.A. was from... He came out of the tunnels.
Starting point is 00:45:38 The hell town. Which is amazing. and I love that people were like, I'm not leaving. Right. What do you mean? The government was offering subsidies to leave the town. Yeah. And people were like, no.
Starting point is 00:45:52 No. Probably not. It's just my home. I'm never leaving the hellfire town. Yeah. People accept. That's crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:01 That's it. Every year when I'm in Melbourne and my home continues to have zero insulation, I may as well be sleeping outside. Yes. And the freezing cold comes in, I think I'll accept this for another year. The last two weeks, this is my home. Last two weeks I've had to sleep with her, like, jumper on. Yes.
Starting point is 00:46:25 Oh. It's coming into your house and it feels like everything is cold and wet. Oh. Nothing will ever feel warm again. And then suddenly, it's the middle of summer and everything is too warm. Yes. What is wrong? But then I'm in climate control.
Starting point is 00:46:40 environments like when I stay at a hotel and I think ugh it's so stuffy yeah or stuff is worse yeah I'd rather freeze over and die than be stuffy if I can't yeah open a window like that date I went on where I had to leave because he refused to open a window what yeah I was like at that hookup many moons ago and the we were like hooking up yeah then we're like about to go to sleep I was going to stayed his house. And I was like, the house was stufforama. It was like being inside of a, like a plane that's engines had failed. And so the aircon wasn't working. Yeah. And there was nothing we could do. We were trapped on the tarmac, except this was his apartment that was hametically sealed. Yeah. And there was a window right beside the bed. And I said, hey, can we just
Starting point is 00:47:30 open that a little bit? Yeah. Just a little bit. So I can like get some air because I'm really like hot. Yeah. And he was like, no. And I was like, oh, please. And it kind of was, baby, heck him. Waring me down.
Starting point is 00:47:46 And I was like, no, no, no. I'm serious. Can we like, I feel like I'm actually going to have a panic attack. That's how stuffy it is in here. Yeah. And he's like, what are you talking about? No. And I was like, no?
Starting point is 00:47:57 No. He's like, absolutely not. Bye. And I was like, okay, I'm going to go. Yeah. And got up and left and I was so proud of myself. Yeah. Because it was like, this is it?
Starting point is 00:48:09 This is the first, first hill you're going to die on? Oh, yeah. No. That's his line. That's where he draws the line. Open a window? You freak. You found it straight away.
Starting point is 00:48:19 And also it's not even for that long. Yeah. Just a bit, just a little wisp of fresh. I really struggled with that last week. I had this hook up and like had the heater on because it's freezing. And then like halfway through. We're like sweltering hot. So then I like had to open the window and put the fan on.
Starting point is 00:48:41 But it's winter. It's like two degrees outside. But then I had to keep the heater on because otherwise we would have gone down to two degrees. Oh, it was the whole thing. Doing that kind of climate control when you're getting ramped. It's really full on. Balance the ecosystem. The fan went on as well.
Starting point is 00:48:55 Yeah. Wow. And you know I don't like putting that fan on. Hmm. I don't like it. Wait, we were in the lounge room? No. The fan's in my bedroom.
Starting point is 00:49:05 But like, what's it going to do? Just send the same air particles back to me. Ew. You can't drink me. Once those particles leave your body, you don't want them back. No. I rejected them for a reason. Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:20 Well, we're adding that sexy co-ed game. Hussie bounce. Hussie bounce. We should get someone to make Hussie Bounds, and we'll put it on the website. Yes. If you're out there with knowledge of flash games, or making contemporary flash games. We need you to make Hussie Bounce for us now.
Starting point is 00:49:40 And you can use... Wait, we'll do a quick record session. Well, I'm going to source all the... We've got plenty of sound effects. There's definitely one where they're like... When you eat like the rotten doughnut. We can't use those ones. They can't be written.
Starting point is 00:49:56 No, I'll re-record all of the same. And I'll add this. New game! Ah. New game. Game over. You lose. Exit.
Starting point is 00:50:09 What about when you win? Winner! Sexy winner! Sexy winner! That's good. Yeah. Okay. Put it in my butt.
Starting point is 00:50:19 Whoa. Hello. Hello. Welcome back. Hello. I'm a leg dead to you. Okay. Can I tell you?
Starting point is 00:50:48 Yeah. I've already told you, but I'm going to tell you again. Oh, wait, am I going to have to pretend? Like, I haven't been told this. Yeah. Okay. No, just, I mean, I don't have to tell you. What is it?
Starting point is 00:51:00 I don't have to tell you. Tell me. Oh, ho. Well, listen. Okay, so we were talking a bit about Widows Bay. Oh, yes. And on the back of that, talking about, Jeff Hiller who said this place is a death trap we're gonna die in here
Starting point is 00:51:25 everybody ran and I had loved Jeff Hiller in somebody somewhere the Bridget Everett show which is really beautiful yeah so you should watch that it's really good it's an impossible show to get people to watch what is it say to me again somebody somewhere someone someone it's very quiet though it's like a very like quiet nothing show like what kind of genre like intimate comedy drama about people. Like impossible to get people excited about watching, but it's so good. What year is it from?
Starting point is 00:52:01 It would have just finished its run two years ago, three years ago. Huh. Had three seasons. Okay. It's about a woman who moves back to her Midwestern hometown. Yeah. And she's in her 40s and she thinks that life has passed her by. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:52:18 And it stars her, Jeff Hiller, and Murray Hill, you know the famous drag king? Murray Hill. You know, who hosted the... Sexy Galaxies, isn't it? Who hosted the King of Kings. If it's not sexy Galaxi, I'm not interested. But it's really lovely, really quiet, really, like, intimate, very sweet. Oh, I know Murray Hill.
Starting point is 00:52:39 Yeah. And it's so beautiful and lovely and about, like, kind of queer chosen family in these, like... Midway-ish. Yeah. that aren't famous or ever on TV. And it's really lovely. Anyway, I would listen to Jeff Hiller's autobiography, actress of a certain age,
Starting point is 00:52:58 and I really loved it and sent Jeff a message on Instagram. Because I love to do that sometimes. Yeah. Particularly late at night when I'm like, I'll just send a message. I do that too, but it's not just celebrities. Who do you? Oh. Hottie rep.
Starting point is 00:53:16 Anyway. Anyway, so I sent a message saying, I really appreciated your autobiography and loved it. And I thought it was just really beautiful. Thank you. And then I got to reply. And it was just really kind. And Jeff was like, my friend Jeff. Your friend, Joe.
Starting point is 00:53:36 Was like, thank you. That's really sweet of you to say. Also, I really hope you get on Bob's podcast. Because she knows. She knows? And I was like, that's so funny. That is like so real. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:49 Just very surreal. But now... Oh, surreal. I'm saying, that is so real. That's so real. To be honest with me like that, it was so real. But getting that kind of reply, it's like reality's a little bit broken. When you can look at TV and then talk to TV.
Starting point is 00:54:08 Yeah. What do you mean? Those moments of seeing someone that you've seen on TV. Like when I was in the street as a... 17 year old and bumped into Leelyn Chin. Yes. Oh God, I loved that.
Starting point is 00:54:22 That was my highlight. Do you think of your life? Yeah. Do you think that there could be another highlight higher than that? Yeah, if I bumped into her again. And she remembered as well. Imagine if she remembered as well.
Starting point is 00:54:34 Yeah. That would be crazy. That would be crazy. I'd be worried if she remembered as well. I wouldn't. That's my trend. Who would be the celebrity that would knock you most off kilter if you met them in the street?
Starting point is 00:54:45 January Jones, Bjirk. Lilin Jin. Lillinjin. Oh my God. Who would I be the most? No, if I bumped into, like, Hikairu with Tata, I'd fucking lose my mind. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:56 Yeah. Do you think anyone bumps into Atada Hookara? Yeah. Really? Yeah. She's just out there walking in the street. In London. Do you think?
Starting point is 00:55:05 Yeah. Without security? Well, I mean, if you're Uttara Hikaru in London, there's a buffer of safety there. Do you think? Yeah. You don't think she's famous enough. It would just be weird faggots that know who. you are. And Japanese people. Yeah. How many Japanese people are there in London? It's quite a few,
Starting point is 00:55:22 I'd assume. Yeah, but not as many as... You don't think she could say, you think she could safely just walk around London? Yeah. Wow. I think that's part of the appeal of like not living in home country. Yeah. Yeah. That's why I have to leave. Oh yeah, you stopped every second. I know. I was at a cafe today. This weird looking pervert at a table nearby said, lazy over here wait really yeah before i got there it was mad but yeah and that's the real reason i have to leave yeah because i just keep calling you over yeah back off they didn't want to do this podcast anymore i'm just forcing them to do it every week yeah anyway okay now it's time
Starting point is 00:56:12 for the next category oh right yes Wait, I'll say one or you say one? You can say one. I have one if you're ready to go. Oh, no, I lost it. My little page. I'll go with this one. Okay.
Starting point is 00:56:27 Matt has recently... Now all I have here is the AIDS thing. The AIDS cool. All I have here is the thought that... Matt has had children for a while now. He won't shut up about it. Yeah. But he's been talking about how his kids, well, one of his children,
Starting point is 00:56:49 sometimes picks up weird little habits from the television they're watching. And I want to know which in the bunker TV show are we using to raise the children in the bunker. Because this is future generations to come. So, on the table, I believe, we have the ones that raise me, Sesame Street. That's still going, right? Yes. Yeah. Play school.
Starting point is 00:57:15 Mm-hmm. Cartoons, but I think it's got to be early, early, early, young adult. Like, the kind of shows that have an edgy lens? Yes. Yeah, okay, yeah. So, Matt, what do you think is good for children and what is bad for children? Um, well, I've been appreciating play school. Yes.
Starting point is 00:57:35 Because I guess it was always just on every day after school. Yes. When you came home, it was like the first thing. on, I want to say. The first thing, like, switching over from, like, daytime programming to afternoon programming, maybe. And you kind of just watched it because, like, you had to before the better cartoons. Although, play school was a bad influence on me.
Starting point is 00:58:00 Why? Because when they were making the arts and crafts section, they were like, now get some green tissue paper and take a toilet roll. use toilet roll and that makes the stump of the tree what is it? The body of the trunk.
Starting point is 00:58:22 The trunk of the tree. Sorry, I'm so used to having them torn down and then add the leaf greenery on top and then you've got a tree and you cut some little divvets in the bottom so it will stand flat we didn't have any leftover toilet roll at my house
Starting point is 00:58:40 so me and my friend Samantha that rolled several rolls of toilet paper off the actual cardboard bit to retrieve the crafting material. Yeah. And shoved that toilet paper down the toilet. It blocked the toilet. And my parents were like, what the fuck? Why did you do this? And we're like, we needed the tree trunk, sorry.
Starting point is 00:59:04 And so it's a bad influence. No, that's good initiative. Yeah. Obviously. And you learnt more than just how to build a tree. You also learned how to build a family. Compromise. No, but I just, I'm watching it now with my daughter and it's just like, it's just so beautiful
Starting point is 00:59:24 that show. What is beautiful about it? Just the way they talk and the way that they, like, the little songs that they sing. It's just cute. I don't know. It's nice. It's wholesome. Is Jemima still hanging out there?
Starting point is 00:59:39 Jamima's still there Big Ted Big Ted Little Ted Yeah Humpty Dumpty Umpty Umpty
Starting point is 00:59:46 Like a video of someone saying the other day It was like an immigrant To the country when he was young Like he was like Three or four or something when he came to Australia Jamima No no no I was watching a video of a guy talking about
Starting point is 00:59:57 Play School And he was saying that it taught him how to like Speak English basically Yeah Yeah Which would just be such a big thing For like a kid Going to school
Starting point is 01:00:09 I don't know I'm kind of getting nostalgic and mushy about it but I think I think it's just a nice show but it's a bit boring But that's I think the good thing It's the low stimulation Yes
Starting point is 01:00:24 Yeah definitely I like that it hasn't overly Like hyped up as the years have gone bare No No not like those fucking wiggles Yeah The wiggles have gone like way too Extra
Starting point is 01:00:37 We've seen the tree Yeah It seems true. He hate that tree. In Iceland, the children are taught by a curious cavalcade of characters. But I did learn something from the folks at Lazy Town about how to build a pretty cake. I heard it. It's a piece of...
Starting point is 01:01:00 It's a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake. Do they run cake with cake in that song? It's a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake. Yes. It's a piece of cake. to break a bit of cake. Damn me, baby. You know you can't be lazy.
Starting point is 01:01:15 So I love... Crazy. Have we talked about this already? But the late... You know I've performed that? Yes. The Lazy Town aesthetic is really cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:28 I love the way that they... You know, what's his name? Athletico or something. It's Jetset Gemini. And what's the guy? What? The Fit guy. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:01:39 Oh, in that. Who died? So sad. And they replaced the girl twice. What? They replaced the girl twice. She aged out of the role. Sorry, yes.
Starting point is 01:01:54 But you know they're just Jetset Gemini, right? What are you saying? I'm sending a photo. God damn it, Zeldaman. When I think that you're Googling something helpful for the context of the story, there you are just looking for. Jet Set Gemini. That's helpful.
Starting point is 01:02:11 Look at that crazy girl. And her under-eye liner. Delta, this has nothing to do with it, does it? It does. It's the same aesthetic of like Jumbotron outfits, you know, and like lots of piping unnecessarily. Anyway, what else? His name is Sporticus. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:02:35 Stephanie and Robbie Rotten, who I love. for a beer often. They, yeah. That guy, can I just say, that guy has big dick energy. Robbie Rutton. No, the, the blue one.
Starting point is 01:02:49 Sporticus. He does. They both do. They both do. Look at his biceps. They both do. I mean, flares? Who's wearing flares?
Starting point is 01:03:01 Yeah. Yep. They're both incredible. What about, I'm gonna do the cooking by the book. Mm-hmm. Well, see, I'm only up to, like, modern, the modern show, I don't know much about the modern shows because we're, we're, my daughter's only three. So she hasn't, like, gotten up to the kind of, you know, test your brain skills or whatever shows, you know, like, of like, you know, but I guess ones that we watched, there was always, like, those sorts of, like, maths quiz game shows on.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Oh, yes. After school. I can't remember any names of any, but they were always funny. and art attack was good. That's a little bit older. Yeah. Well, what age are we talking about? What do you make it like your daughter's age?
Starting point is 01:03:46 Yeah, like toddlers, like three, four, five. Yeah. Yeah. And your daughter, you've taken her off the pig show. Oh, yes. Pepper. We had her on Pepper Pig. Pepper's gone.
Starting point is 01:03:58 And she started talking with an English accent and being a real brat. So. What do you think Pepper's problem is? He's a brat. British. She's like, Charlie. Yeah. Exia. Pepper Pig is brat.
Starting point is 01:04:14 It's like origin story of Charlie Xia. Inside that icon is our young pig from Essex. I want to... It's kind of like that though. She's like, she's so demanding. I hate Pepper Pig. Oh? Pepper?
Starting point is 01:04:36 Pepper? Do you hear? Don't bring Pepper into this. Pepper, talk to us. Does she like Anna? Maybe she would like me because I'm pink too. Oh. Stop her.
Starting point is 01:04:54 Yes, you know. I'm derated. Oh, my God. Oh, that was Pepper Pig on Pitch Pork. Pitchfork magazine. Pitch Porfitt. Pitchfork magazine talking about pink. Pig fork.
Starting point is 01:05:06 Pink fork. Why do you think Pepper? Peppers is kind of annoying. Do you think? And imagine if you're a three-year-old. started talking like that. But also her animation with all her features on one side of her head. It's disgusting.
Starting point is 01:05:22 It's really ugly looking. It's ugly. It's like ugly when it's on TV, but forgivable because it's a program. But when I see that on a backpack, I think, wow, we've slipped. Yes. We've slipped as a society. What do you think about sticking around? I love sticking around.
Starting point is 01:05:38 I don't know you would say that. That shows great. It's great. It came up on my Instagram. Dig around. I was at a Australian kids show About two kids that had imagination Yeah
Starting point is 01:05:50 Basically right Yeah They would just invent little things Yeah Once again Out of the age demo I just can Totally Wild count
Starting point is 01:06:01 I saw a guy Who was a host on Totally Wild For three years and had Tourette's on TikTok Oh wow Yeah Managed to manage it For the takes Yeah
Starting point is 01:06:12 And they used to shoot everything in blocks for Totally Wild. So they would shoot three weeks' worth of episodes in two days or whatever. I don't know. I'm making things up. That makes sense to me. Totally Wild is good, but probably too old. It's a little too old.
Starting point is 01:06:29 They were winning prize packs that were a bit too old on that show. So wait, you've done away with Pepper and now what are you watching? So she's on a couple of shows now. One is Miffy, which is similar. Miffy. What's the law of Miffy? She's just a sweet little bunny. Oh, it's not like Hello Kitty where she's actually a little girl.
Starting point is 01:06:53 That makes me feel sick. What? I'm like, it being a girl in a cat costume. Oh, the Hello Kitty law. Yeah. That's crazy. I'm like, grow up, Japan. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:07:04 But like, no, just lean in. It's a cat. Is Miffy Japanese as well? No, she's English. English. So it's kind of similar. She's still talking with her. English accent after she watches that show, which is a bit scary.
Starting point is 01:07:17 And is Miffy nicer than Pepper? She is, but only marginally, and she lies a lot. So she's teaching us bad things. What about Harry McClary? Well, he didn't ever got a show. I don't think he ever got a show. Why? Yes, there was.
Starting point is 01:07:31 That's that was. I love the animation style of Miffie. It looks beautiful. But she lies. Sorry. She seems to lie a lot. What kind of lies does Miffie tell? Well, she kind of is like,
Starting point is 01:08:01 she kind of like tries to get away with stuff a lot. Like what? I don't know. He fell. Yeah, yeah. There's one episode. Miffing. Stop.
Starting point is 01:08:13 When she pushes her brother down stairs. The police don't believe Miffie. Wait, so what lie? What lie have you recently seen Miffy? Oh my God Just innocent stuff Like what? Like she's just like
Starting point is 01:08:30 One time she had a play date She accidentally organised the play date With two friends Oh Miffy Then she did the old caper of like Running between both play dates Oh that's cute Like Mrs. Downfire
Starting point is 01:08:40 Yeah But she let both her friends down As a result of her eyes Yeah Which is what she learned That tells you that like being a people please There is an incorrect thing to do Do as we do
Starting point is 01:08:52 Cancel on both friends Sit inside You can do nothing. Nothing. Hey, learning about that diamond... How am I meant to remember that word? Moistenite. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:03 Is it nothing? That's right. But there's another one she watches called Puff and Rock, which is actually pretty fun. Sorry. Hurry. Puff and Rock. It's about Puff and Rock. If I want to see people puff and rock, I go to sunshine.
Starting point is 01:09:18 It's very educational. It's about the streets. No, no. It's about two cute little puffins. And it's narrated by Chris O'Dowd from the IT crowd. So they're all Irish. You mean from the sapphires? Yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 01:09:35 So although they've got really funny Irish accents in that. And she can't copy Irish accents, so it's fine. I don't know. I fear this animation style is a bit too. It's all right. It's not, it's a bit like computer generated, but it's okay. So no one's actually brought up drag tots yet. What is drag tots?
Starting point is 01:09:53 Drag-Torce. World of Wonder put out that kid's show where drag queens voiced baby versions of themselves. Oh, no. And it was really good. Oh my God, should we? Got a 3.9 rating on 9 to be. Out of five?
Starting point is 01:10:11 Not a zero. I'll be pausing it. Yeah. What about, why don't we test it on your children? Your children would be like, slay, mama. Slay girl Is it like rated?
Starting point is 01:10:26 Is it rated? Is it M or is it like? No, no, it's for kids. This was part of the inception stage. Ooh, like popping out a like bottle and then being like, thanks mama. Sipping on that truth tea, honey. Yeah, maybe we don't. We don't need that.
Starting point is 01:10:48 Just let them listen to this. We're going to do a kid's edit of our pod. Should we do a kids episode? Do you know what that is? A live kids show. Yes. I think we should live kids. Drag story time.
Starting point is 01:11:00 Drag. Drags. Okay. There was a lot of claymation in the 90s, which I appreciate it. I love. Like, obviously trapped all we've discussed. Grogs. Grogs.
Starting point is 01:11:14 Grogs was crazy, disgusting, snoddy features. I put a pin in claymation because the what what we're talking so we're going to transition to video podcast
Starting point is 01:11:32 and we were talking about the transitions and the intro and stuff we're talking about doing claymation well we're talking about doing miniatures but I thought what if we did clamation that's crazy
Starting point is 01:11:41 we'd want to kill ourselves but that would be so fun I used to make clamation videos when I was a teenager same yeah why did I do that because it was cool
Starting point is 01:11:51 That is cute. I just want to see the strings on the planet as we crush it in our gigantic hands. True. My favorite was definitely Gumby. Gumby. Love Gumby. I only like Pokey. Yeah, Pokey the horse.
Starting point is 01:12:04 I hated Gumbie. What about? Gumbie can fuck off, but Pocky is so cute. Why don't you like Gumbie? Gip shit. So much ego. And like, oh, the show was called Gumbie. Yeah, but Poki was so cute.
Starting point is 01:12:17 Well, Pokey's the star as well. Yeah. Was there a girl Gumbi? Gumbet Gumbet I don't know No there was like a blue girl And like a yellow girl
Starting point is 01:12:28 But I don't think that they Were like gumbies Yeah Well he doesn't own them Matt I like I like the Bumpy and Squishy Which was similarly
Starting point is 01:12:41 Sorry About the two monsters That lived under your bed Bumpy and Squishy Yeah Oh no I hated that They were so ugly Yeah they were really ugly
Starting point is 01:12:48 Yeah And squishy was a little bit of like a pushover. Yeah. Ooh, I can see it in my mind's eye. Was one of them shaped like a hand or something? Like, Squish, you could change into anything.
Starting point is 01:13:01 Like, was able to use the power of being made out of Squish. Yeah. I think for kids, I mean, Bluey is, people rave about Bluey. Yeah. And there are kids across the world that are having a similar
Starting point is 01:13:19 thing to your child, but they're speaking in Queenslander accents. That's just scary. Maybe you could reaffirm the importance of the Australian accent through bluey. By watching some bluey. Yeah, maybe we'll start bluey next. I think maybe start it tonight.
Starting point is 01:13:37 Before bed. Yeah. It really seeps in. I think I've been avoiding bluey because I'm kind of like, it's so, it's so big. I'm like, I don't want the commercialization of it. Because as soon as she sees like a bluey back. pack oil, like a bluey cup in the store. She's going to want to buy that now.
Starting point is 01:13:55 Do you know what I mean? Like she's already buying lots of... She's already buying lots of shit. Miffy stuff. You know? Yeah, I think that ship has sailed. Yeah. Just got to lean in. Buying windows because of play school.
Starting point is 01:14:11 It is crazy to me and one of the biggest indictments of the Australian film industry that ABC sold the rights. Well, didn't even, they passed on the rights to produce Bluey. And as such, the BBC picked it up. And so, while ABC is like one of the core partners of the entire operation, they don't get any of the revenue from merchandising, which would have single-handedly fundamentally changed the Australian. I mean, they wouldn't have been able to merchandise as much, but it would have fundamentally changed everything.
Starting point is 01:14:49 Yeah, yeah. For the Australians. And they passed on it. Because they're fucking idiots. Fools. Isn't that amazing? If you had a time machine hot tub, is that what you'd go back and fix? I don't think I could.
Starting point is 01:15:00 Oh. Because I think even if you had a time machine hot tub, I can't even convince people now that what I think is good is good. How would I convince an ABC exec that they'd have to go back further in time and become the head of the ABC so that you could. I don't even think I could. could. I really don't think that there's a way for me to do that. What if you go back wearing a bluey backpack and you're like, do you see this? 50,000 of these sell every week. Every minute.
Starting point is 01:15:31 Yeah. Every week. I don't know. Oh my God. It's huge. Bluey is the number one show on Disney. What? Yeah. That was actually X-Men 97 this week. I'll have you know. Number one show by like a country mile. It's huge. Yeah. That show is... They're making, um, bluey themed worlds in Disneyland now.
Starting point is 01:15:55 Yeah. Like the Australian, the Australian section. Yeah. Like they've got like, you know, um, what's that, Pandora. What is it?
Starting point is 01:16:05 Oh. Like from, yeah. Animal Kingdom. Yeah. Yeah. And then, yeah, they've got all the different sections. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:14 And now they're making... A bluey world. Like a bluey world. Queensland. Yeah. Making suburban Queensland. A Gold Coast. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:22 Well, which one of these fantastic options goes into the bank? Yeah. What do you want to teach your children, Zelda? I think they can learn plenty just by playing that hideous flash game that we've put in. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Titsa Kimbo.
Starting point is 01:16:36 What do we call it? Harsi Bounce. Hussie Bounce. Even better. So make a TV show called Hossy Bounce. I mean, it was on Neopets. So, yeah, now it's been adapted. Adapted.
Starting point is 01:16:47 Into a TV show. Yeah. We're going to do it live at the nanny set. Yes. But it has to be rotoscoped and then, like... Oh, you want it to be animated? Oh, yeah. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:16:58 Oh, and rotoscoped. Ew. Roto scoping. No, we need a claymation version. Imagine those giant jugs dancing on that seesaw. One frame at a time. Yeah. Mm.
Starting point is 01:17:12 Okay, good. And they changed. size every frame. Yeah. Yeah, just a little. It's really hard to maintain consistency in clamation. Particularly when we don't have any of the right clay in the bunker. So they just have to use blue clay yet. Yeah, at this point. Yeah. What malleable substrate? Well, at the moment, they're just using like ashes from the pompein room and water from the ocean area. Mixed with water. Yeah. It's not, it's not great, but it's what we've got. Yeah. We'll be right back. Welcome back, listener.
Starting point is 01:17:54 Hello, listener. Hello, listener. Now, it's time for us to discuss which. That rhymed. Mirror goes into the bunker. A little pocket mirror. Mitch mirror. Mirror on the wall. That hideous shop on Punt Road, that sells mirrors.
Starting point is 01:18:14 Oh, yeah. How are they open? How are they open? How are magpie is not destroying them? Right. And like, who's going in there to buy like a $15,000? mirror. It can't possibly,
Starting point is 01:18:25 possibly cost that much. Yeah. I love some mirrors, but I think they're a scourge on society, by and large. What they do isn't kind. What they do is terrible. Yeah. They were the original iPhone.
Starting point is 01:18:41 Yeah. Except the only notification was, you look kind of weird. Yeah. What do you think about, like, a compact blush, and then it has a little mirror in it, and you're like, how I can't even see my full face, let alone get... There's so much dust on it.
Starting point is 01:18:59 Well, no, it's just such a tiny mirror. How am I meant to touch up my blush in such a tiny mirror? Through a blush in particular, you need to be able to see a lot of cheek real estate. Because I need to see it in relation to everything else. Yeah, but... I wouldn't be able to do drag if it wasn't for mirrors. I would. In fact, everything would probably improve.
Starting point is 01:19:17 Well, you'd have to get someone else to put your makeup on. No, no, no, no, I got it. Do you think, like, if we didn't have... mirrors in society or any reflective surfaces you just, everyone would just put their own makeup on and hope for the best. Yeah, we'd learn to do it by hand. Yeah, by fear. Yes, and then we'd find a local watering
Starting point is 01:19:32 hole. Yes, with a still pool. There's no reflective surface. No reflections in your apocalypse? Oh, light is moving differently in this universe. Oh, shut up. You know what I mean. Oh, shut up. Oh, okay. Oh, shut up. We're getting a bit spicy here on season four. Oh, shut up.
Starting point is 01:19:50 Okay, well listen What was the thing from Sydney? Don't say shut up What was it? Who said shut up? Who said shut up? From Sydney, you know. Why do you think a lot of palettes have mirrors in them
Starting point is 01:20:07 that I'm never going to use? I, like, it's got to be marketing and like the packaging as like a selling tool. Like, I've used that mirror once when I was completely out of luck. Yeah. In a dressing room.
Starting point is 01:20:21 Yeah. But it's always covered in shit. Yes. It's awful. But I think it's just... Let's make a mirror that's interfacing with powder 98% of the time. Yes. But it is just to make the product more lux.
Starting point is 01:20:33 It has a mirror in the compact. Oh, that one... Oh, it doesn't have a mirror. Oh, okay. Things that I like about those compacts, the magnetic seal. Oh, you want a magnet seal, not a little press release. I hate the press release. Okay.
Starting point is 01:20:46 I like a magnet seal. Yeah. That's lux. Lux. Magnets in makeup? Yeah. Who thought of that? Incredible.
Starting point is 01:20:57 Like a highlighter with a thick lid that's really heavy that magnetizes on. Oh, snaps back. Yeah, that's good. Yeah. Yeah. Good talk. Mirror. Oh, I finally we were discussing which magnet.
Starting point is 01:21:09 Do you like the magic mirror from Snow White? Or do you think he has an attitude? No, I like the delivery. And I like the all-knowing. aspect. Yes. And I like the cheekbones. Also, the mirror in Snow White is gay, right? Absolutely. And... His best friend, the Queen. The Queen. Well, I think it's funny that in that universe, the power structure goes bottom, Huntsman, or maybe Snow White, or Nomes, or little people, what we say?
Starting point is 01:21:42 The dwarfs. What? Like, the power structure in the universe of that is... What do we call them in Snow White and the seven dwarves? Yeah, the dwarves. Dwarves are bottom of the barrel. They're working in the mines. Yeah. Next up, Snow White, okay? She's excommunicated.
Starting point is 01:22:00 I wish she. She could also be the lowest as well, because she's in exile. She serves no purpose and community. Hey, Hansman. Huntsman is at the beck and call of the queen. Then you could argue it goes queen, and then the most powerful being, in the narrative is the mirror.
Starting point is 01:22:20 Yeah. And he doesn't even seem to care. He just says it like it is. He is a servant of the queen, but he also provides the intel. Yeah. If the queen, it's not like the mirror's asking the queen questions.
Starting point is 01:22:32 No. The mirror's not asking for advice. No. That's the queen. But what's the best mirror in the land? Yeah. I knew. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:39 She already knows. I'm darling. Diva. We don't need. I'm a talking fucking magical mirror. Wait for it. Yeah. You wish.
Starting point is 01:22:47 What about the trapdoor? Oh, we need to watch Evil Dead so you can see those women in that trapdoor hole, the Deadites. You didn't tell me there was a trapdoor in that film? Yes, it's a very good trapdoor. You know about trapdoor spiders? They hide in a trapdoor. Yes, so scary. And then they...
Starting point is 01:23:08 Don't you walk on that? It's... We have a trapdoor in my house. Imagine being a scorpion, just walking around and then y'all... I don't know about scorpions. Snatched by a traptle spider. I have a lot more warmth towards spiders than scorpions. We've discussed this.
Starting point is 01:23:22 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's worth rediscussing. Okay. It's re-discussing every couple weeks. Yeah. Oh, yeah. They need to know. I don't really care of them.
Starting point is 01:23:34 So. So, not after what they did to ante in, honey, I'm showing the kids. I, um, you, like, how do you feel about magnified mirrors? Like 5x, 8x, 3x. I need that sometimes. I don't feel like I can ever get close enough to myself in a mirror. Mm-hmm. And I don't think the light ever works well enough in a mirror.
Starting point is 01:23:57 Yeah, yeah. You have the most beautiful vanity mirror at the moment. It is quite good. Like, that was an investment and totally, totally worth it. I think it was like 500 bucks. Whoa. Big spend her. She's rich.
Starting point is 01:24:12 But. I had no idea. What? I was with a Ritchie Rich. Oh my God. One of the Kardashians. Well, we're working drag queens. I need a mirror.
Starting point is 01:24:25 But it's like got the beauty lights all around it. It's massive. Wait, with the drawers as well. The whole unit. Or just the mirror. I can't remember how much that mirror was. It definitely wasn't more than 500. It's a great light.
Starting point is 01:24:40 I do feel like I'm always underlit when I'm doing my makeup. Like, you should just get one. It's fantastic. Try it. Try it. Try it. It, um, yeah, I like it because when you, like, I didn't want to have to move my body to be in the mirror.
Starting point is 01:24:57 And when it's smaller, like, but that mirror is so ginormous. I'm always in it. Yes. You know, and like, that sounds silly. Prepping for drag race. Yeah. Ah, true. Getting to do your mirror moment.
Starting point is 01:25:08 Those drag race mirrors, they're no longer reversed like Big Brother mirrors, are they? Oh, they are? Do they work as functional mirrors? Yes, but you can, with a two-way glass mirror, it's a little bit thicker so you can see almost like a double image sometimes. And sometimes the producer of the show, Ms. Amanda Payne, who would take this horrifying image of like a hairless chihuahua dog gnashing its giant terrifying teeth. and she'd come up behind the glass and turn on her phone screen and so you couldn't see anything
Starting point is 01:25:46 and then suddenly you'd just see and you just see a girl scream periodically that's amazing and then at the end of the season we got to check out what it was like on the other side of the mirror and it was very cool because you really can't see that there are people watching you and I think two-way mirrors are very chic
Starting point is 01:26:03 I do too God I used to love Big Brother Rapplate I actually remember I went to one of my friends like sharehouses up on high street in Thorpe and Preston. And it was like when this, it was like a weird old shop that they'd converted into like some sort of sharehouse den sort of thing. And basically I think it was one of those seedy massage parlors beforehand. Oh. Because there was. How would you know that, ma?
Starting point is 01:26:34 Well, because this is the layout of the room. So the first they had like a waiting room in the front. And then they had like a treatment room, like a separate room that was like closed off, which was someone's bedroom. But on the wall was a two-way mirror. And behind the two-way mirror was like a cupboard where people could go in and look into the room basically, which was just so strange. That's amazing.
Starting point is 01:27:00 Did they use it? Well, I don't know. I mean, the housemates or the- Yeah, the housema. Yeah, they used that room for like as a bedroom. Oh, Matt. They used the mirror to spy on people having sex. Can you be so real?
Starting point is 01:27:14 Well, that's probably what they did during the when it was a massage partner. No, that's problematic. Do you think they were signing consent forms before? No. But it's cool that there is a sneaky mirror. I... That that technology exists. It's like a, yeah, what else do they use that for?
Starting point is 01:27:32 Just interrogation rooms. Yeah, lineups where you pick which criminal did you dirty. Which crime? Which crime? Hmm. Mirrors. What do you think about dirty mirrors? Hate that.
Starting point is 01:27:46 Okay. Smudges. I like rusted mirrors. Oh. And teaked. With a patina. Yeah. That's fun.
Starting point is 01:27:54 What about those mirrors that have like the white, like, print on it of, like, a windmill? Yes. Yes. Like in an old, like, Nonna's house. Yes. Yes. That? That's cool.
Starting point is 01:28:07 I love that. Why don't I have that? That? feels like something I should have. That does show crazy. That's not exactly what I said. I like a singing mirror, like a Snow White or Cinderella vintage toy mirror that would go ding dong, ding dong, ding, ding, ding, as you look into its fake mirrored surface. Is that true?
Starting point is 01:28:30 Yeah. What do you talk about? I think I've ever seen that. Oh. Like a little handheld. Yeah. I love those old sets of like a handheld mirror and then like the horsehair. brush. Yes, but they have the same kind of spec. Yes. Yeah, that is incredible. Oh, I love those.
Starting point is 01:28:45 What is you want a silver, silver foiled effect that's meant to be a mirror, but it's like Funhouse mirror. Pancake parlor mirror. That's how they get you into Scientology. And what about Luna Park? Now I'm skinny. That's the type they have outside the pancake parlor. Oh, right. Have you not seen? No. They lure you. I see you've been entranced by that lure before. I don't think I've ever bought anything from the pancake parlor, but I've seen the outside. I'm intrigued. As a child, I feel like I've told this story, went to the pancake parlor in Frankston.
Starting point is 01:29:20 We went there once for dinner, God knows why. And I got like a beef stroganoff. But like everything comes on a pancake. And like, I think that is like one of the fundamental dishes that made me want to be vegetarian. Because it was so disgusting. That doesn't sound good. Strips of beef in like a creamy pasta sauce.
Starting point is 01:29:39 on a pancake. Why? Why? Why was it on the menu? Why did you get that? I would have gotten it because I like pasta. Strug enough. Are you struggling enough?
Starting point is 01:29:51 To live without me. Strug enough. Ew. Who's eating beef stroganoff? Should we go to pancake parlor? Yeah. Let's go for lunch. Let's make that an adventure.
Starting point is 01:30:04 Lovely. Do you think they have a chalk chip pancake? Lovely. Yes, I do think that would. Of course. Do you think you could get a chock chip pancake with maple syrup and some vanilla ice cream on top?
Starting point is 01:30:14 I think you could do that. Yeah. Wow. I already feel sick just thinking about it, but I kind of want it. That's what you should order at the pancake parlor. Do you think they're the best
Starting point is 01:30:24 to be strong enough? Well, and then I learned. Also, it helped me a vegetarian, so that's good. True. True. They actually helped. Instead of converting you into a Scientologist,
Starting point is 01:30:36 they converted you into a vegetarian. A vegetarian. I feel like I must have been like 10 or something. Okay. Because we would have gone, we would have been in Frankston for like one of my brother's basketball games or something and gone there afterwards. Ugh.
Starting point is 01:30:54 Okay, so though. I remember it so vividly. And the pancake powder was like right on the bay. But like nothing was on the bay. No, my brother's dentist was near the bay. His dentist would have hated the pancake polo. Well, yes. But my brother got braces.
Starting point is 01:31:09 I reckon. nuts when we went there. Okay, good. Should I let me clear that out? I think we'll find out. You were 10, you say? Maybe. We'll have to check the tapes.
Starting point is 01:31:18 Okay. The winter menu for pancake power. Tim Tang pancakes, guess the price? 2550. I was going to say 2350. Two fluffy buttermilk pancakes. Two is not enough for $25. Blade with chocolate mascapone.
Starting point is 01:31:33 Mascapode. Crush chocolate coated cream biscuit. I think they mean Tim Tam. on a scoop of ice cream and drizzled with silky milk chocolate sauce. Okay. Silky milk chocolate sauce. For 1550. Why is it called silky?
Starting point is 01:31:47 What the fuck is silky milk? I don't even know what that is. Yeah. Rocky Road pancakes? Once again, 2550. Two fluffy buttermilk pancakes are in those ensembles. Two? Two pancakes.
Starting point is 01:32:00 It says that in the thing. You're not listening. I was zoning in the mouth. Why they putting mascopone on everything? Well, imagine if it was called gonzola. Drizzled with hazeln up. Praline and topped with a rocky roads served with a scoop of ice cream and sprinkle with roasted hazelnut and this is too much black forest pancakes two chocolate pancakes laid with a strawberry jam chocolate fudge and whipped cream with ice cream with chalk chips on top apple walnut okay this is all the same patatas bravas hand cut potato wedges oh that sounds good but that's not served on a pancake butter chicken pancakes two mini crispy herb and onion potato pancakes served with a rich butter chicken with mango chutney.
Starting point is 01:32:42 This is just an ad from pancake popcorn. Well, I can't, there doesn't seem to be a way to just get like chock chip pancakes. Oh, you're missing. Oh, you can build your own stack. Okay. Okay. So you start with our famous pancakes served with maple flavored syrup. Oh, not even maple syrup.
Starting point is 01:33:02 That's so tragic. No, you have to buy that extra. Maple flavored syrup. Are you out of your fucking mind? You have to get that as an add-on to get real maple syrup. Holy shit. Okay, so you can get a regular stack for $20.90. And then I can add ice cream for $4.50.
Starting point is 01:33:21 Are you fucking crazy? Okay. Can we start doing one for one? Because you're reading the dessert menu weirdly, but I'd like to read some of the larger meals. Oh, go. Chicken parmesan. Crumb chicken breast covered in ham.
Starting point is 01:33:33 Jeez. House made Napoli sauce. Served with salad and your choice of, cottage fries or pancake. Oh, but it's a choice now. Yeah, they learned. They learned from you. Yeah, they saw what happened to me.
Starting point is 01:33:47 The cheese and potato pancake is really good. Have you tried that? Organic maple hot is $5 extra for a half serve. Pancakes lasagna. Oh no. Two potato herb and onion pancakes stacked with ham, melted cheese and our slow-cooked beef bolognays. Ew!
Starting point is 01:34:08 They've learned nothing! Or you can get a Baramundi with potato pancakes. I'm sorry, just because it has a vegetable in it, it doesn't mean it's not a pancake. Housemade Hashbrown is $7. Housemade. Well, you know what? If the temperature drops below 10 degrees, you get 50% off.
Starting point is 01:34:25 So it's currently 13 degrees. So maybe by the time the podcast ends, we could go and get 50% off. Is that a joke? No, that's what they're doing. They're doing a winter menu 50% off. What? On cold day. On cold days.
Starting point is 01:34:39 Hey, yeah. That's crazy. It's only got to drop three degrees and we can go for 50% off. So I think I want a single, a short, they're calling a single stack. One pancake, my friend, is not a fucking stack. What do they think a stack is? Yeah. A short stack is two.
Starting point is 01:34:57 Yeah, that's right. Yeah, that's the least you could do. Yeah. But the single is not a stack. What are you stacking? I want a plate. Choose your base between a buttermilk pancake, a protein pancake. But protein pancakes represent a $1 each additional charge.
Starting point is 01:35:17 Mama, are you poor, like, you pour? Pancake parlor, do you need money? Because you're charging us for everything. Not so lovely after all. For $7 I can get maple syrup. For $7? Yeah. Are you serious?
Starting point is 01:35:33 Real maple syrup. I can have maple flavored syrup for free. Oh. Sorry? Honey, you're the pancake parlor. This is not the kind of treatment I expect. We're about to spend $40 on a big old pancake. We're packing up and we're going there right now, and I'm already outraged.
Starting point is 01:35:51 I'm outraged. But do you know what they call their additional bits that you can add? Yeah. Crunchies. Crush pistachio for $2.50. Biscop crumbs. You're paying for grums. $0.0.50.
Starting point is 01:36:10 Crushed almonds. $0.50. Yeah. And chock chips, which is what I want. Oh, you want to chock chips. I want a chock chip. The organic maple hot. Or do I want hot?
Starting point is 01:36:22 Gedge. Maple hot. That's where you can get a half serve of real maple syrup at the fucking pancake parlor for $5 or a full serve for seven. Do you think, what if I've never actually had real maple syrup before? What if it's all been, but like maybe? How would you? You know.
Starting point is 01:36:38 Kind of like vanilla essence. Yeah. You can taste the difference. Flavored. Oh, you know the difference when you've had it. Yeah, but maybe I haven't had it. No, you'll know. Yeah, but that's what I mean, maybe I don't know.
Starting point is 01:36:47 Yeah, well, I don't know. I know because I'm Canadian. That's why. What? Yeah. I'm about to go to Canada. Yeah. You should go to my hometown.
Starting point is 01:36:56 Where it is? Toronto. Toronto. Montreal. Really? Montreal. That's where I was born. What?
Starting point is 01:37:03 A little bit of trivia for the fans of the pod. What do you mean? I'm Canadian. Didn't you know. What? Matt. What? That's why I'm so expert on maple syrup.
Starting point is 01:37:17 Matt, how long were you in Montreal? What? When I was born. Yeah. I was there for about two months. And then what happened? And then what? And then I can move to Australia.
Starting point is 01:37:28 Do you sell up the citizenship? Yep. Really? What? Why don't you live in Canada? Because I love you guys. I don't want to leave. We'll move with you.
Starting point is 01:37:37 Okay. You marry Zelda and I'll take the American visa. Yeah. I can go moose hunting to observe them, not to hunt them. Like I'm hunting them out. Now, what was the question? What? What was the question?
Starting point is 01:37:51 Why a moose so big? No, no. Mirrors. Mirrors. Mirrors. What about the glassy eyes of someone whose heart you just broke? Like mirrors of my soul? Yeah. My favorite mirror is Mirro Savino from Romeo Michelle's high school reunion.
Starting point is 01:38:06 Are you excited for me? number two's? No. Oh. Absolutely fucking not. You're not happy for her? I am excited for Brecken Meyer, who's just being cast. I'm glad he's getting work.
Starting point is 01:38:17 Brecken. Okay, so can we put in Mirosavina? Yes. Okay. Star and Oscar Winna? Mirrosovino. Uh-huh. You're in.
Starting point is 01:38:28 You're in. And then we have the Dune game, which is Hussie. Bounce. Hussie bounce. Hussie bounce. Which one of you is making. And then we have the animated claymation series of Hussie Bounds, which will be rotoscoped. I'm really educational for the children in the bunker, of which there are none.
Starting point is 01:38:48 They will be. Yeah, maybe. What are we did put in a child? Favorite child? Yeah. The Shining Twins? I don't know. It's impossible to know.
Starting point is 01:38:57 And then also eyeball diva. Ocula. Oculon. From the small soldiers, which needs a sequel. Thank you everyone. This has been an incredible episode.
