What did I just say?
Goose, Wim.
But don't worry, Wim.
One is a feat of strength.
Oh, mine actually is wine.
From the Copper Company.
Uh, Doren, I love you.
Wow.
What a drow.
Yeah, that's seem oddly familiar.
There's tons of things that we can find and we can do.
This is the most wonderful city and...
Shh.
Sorry.
Welcome back to Dice Shame.
This is Season 2, Episode 107, Downtime. DejaVu.
This week, our MVP shoutout goes to a bunch of folks in the community that have begun a monumental effort in creating a wiki for the show.
It's an incredibly daunting task and requires a love of Dyshame that really should be commended and appreciated.
So thank you for your dedication.
Thank you to Nikki, Dippity, Scotty, Liz, Marimo, Stuff and Such, and Kay.
Knowledge is power, and you guys fucking rule.
You are this week's MVP.
Thanks, all.
All right, should we play some D&D?
Let's do it.
Ow, oh, oh!
The cloudless spring evening sky.
is dotted with stars and an impossibly bright, full moon
as night envelopes Troll Skull Manor.
Having already eaten dinner and with little else to occupy your time,
Red and Doran, you find yourselves making your way
through the downward sloping alleys towards the harbor with Wim at your sides.
Wow.
Would you look at that moon tonight, eh?
It's beautiful.
Wim nods in agreement.
Yeah, yeah.
It's not often you see it.
moon that beautiful. We're going to show you
a night on the town like you've never seen
right, Doran? No, yeah, absolutely.
Look, you have no idea
how cool Doran and I can
can do things, I mean, some
of the wild antics, I mean,
yeah, you know,
remember that one time in that
bar and
yeah, and
another time we went to bed past nine
o'clock, that was wild.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're
certainly bringing back some
Some great times there, Red.
Yeah, yeah.
You're going to be in for it, Wim.
Don't worry.
We're going to show you all of it.
All of it.
Dory kind of takes a moment at the top of this hill and sort of looks out over the harbor and the wharf.
And he says, oh, it's these summer nights.
You know, it makes me want to, oh, smell that fresh, water deep air.
Spring, but yeah, I'm right there with you, you know.
Look, Wim, we're cool.
We're cool, trust me.
Wim points down at the water and, like, mimics swimming.
Like, do you guys go swimming in this water?
Oh, no, it would be too cold.
And a lot of people throw their poops in there.
Oh, swims.
Dora has this look of disgust on his face.
No, no, no.
We prefer to sit in baths and things like that if we're going to get wet.
We'll take a bath later this week.
Don't worry about it.
Oh, absolutely.
Maybe we'll find a hot tub or something later on.
Yeah, yeah.
We're going to have a good one.
We're going to have a good one.
First stop, maybe the copper cup.
Sure.
get a drink
Well actually
Well you know what actually
I think I saw Jack heading there
You know what let's not go to the Cup
It's a silly place
We've been there a number of times
Yeah we've been there
We'll
We'll do a little bit of yes
We'll do a little bit of yes
Sure you know
We'll do a little bit of embrace
The moment
A yes
Wham shakes her head like
I have no idea what the fuck is going on here
But I'm in for it
As you pass by some of the taller building
and underneath a series of balconies,
you hear something dropped to the cobblestones behind you somewhere.
What was that?
Red spins around and looks to where the thing fell.
What was what?
I had something full.
What are you looking for, Red?
It's a gold ring.
What did I just say?
Red's like tapping Doren's chest.
Look, look!
And he points at a ring on the ground.
Oh.
Come here, whim! Come here, come here!
Gets everyone's attention.
Look.
Wow.
This is what I was just saying, yes.
You remember Doran back in Silvery Moon?
We was walking the streets after dining at Jack's Mum's place.
Remember, we were looking for a little bit of a party.
That's right.
That's right, yeah.
So Doran and I, we decided we would start saying yes to things.
And I remember because a ring fell out of a window just like this one,
and red bends down and scoops up the ring.
That's right.
Remember Doran?
I do, I do.
And now that you mention it, I seem to recall a long dark night filled with laughter.
and some playful energy.
Lots of playful energy, yeah.
But I don't remember anything about finding a ring.
But I certainly do remember saying yes.
Well, we didn't put it on.
Remember we thought we would keep it,
but things have changed and red slips the ring on.
That's right.
Oh, boy, it was an absolute blast.
All we did was we agreed that we would say yes to everything.
Yeah, yeah.
Everything that came at us,
everything that would have fallen across our path,
we decided that we would be,
Yes, man. And I wish we had tonight just like that. A little different, obviously.
But it would have been such a blast to get to say yes to everything again and have you with us.
Let's do it. What do you say? Wim?
Wim puts her hand in the middle like you guys are going to do a three, two, one, hurry, I think.
Oh, hell yeah. Red puts his hand in.
Dora also puts his hand in. Yes to everything on three. One, two, three.
Yes. Yes. Oh, yes. Oh.
Wim just whistles.
Sorry, right.
All right.
Yeah, now we got it
Now the energy's right
I promise
Things are going to fall into our lap
That's how things happen to us
Seems to be the way
She holds out an elbow for Red
And a lower elbow for Doran
And you guys link arms
Oh hell yeah
The only thing different is I wish we had
Wine in these water skins
Last time we did
And Red pulls out his wine skin
And uncorks it and smells
Oh, mine actually is wine
And he takes a long drink
Oh sure mine was empty
I remember drinking the ale out of it
Before we
Oh, I fill up yours half the time anyway
Cheers, do you?
And Red offers it to Doran
Dorn takes the wine skin and chugs it back a little
Mmm, that's great ale
That's not ale at all
What is that?
And he sort of like
That's some really high quality wine
I've had this wine before
But it's been a long time
Probably from Scarborough
I remember sneaking a little bit from your mom
So it's probably family wine
And red takes it back
Nope, no, no
This is definitely not from Scarborough
This is exotic white wine
There is not anything like this
In Scarborough
I'll drink it anyways
I'm not too concerned
And he gives you a pat on it
Let me turn yours
I want to have some
A little bit of red
Yeah oh yeah
Sorry Duren passes off his skin
Oh that's good stuff
Oh
We filled up our wine skins
In the Dragon's den
Oh yeah
Remember when we were searching that room
Yeah.
All right, and Red corks the wine skin.
To adventure.
And he links his arm back with whims.
The Water Davian docks are jammed with ships and boats of all sizes.
And despite the darkening hour, there's still a little bit of foot traffic here and there.
You spy a medium-sized ship, and there are a couple of laborers who are unloading crates.
They catch sight of you as you wander towards.
them on the docks, and one of them waves at you.
Huh, Red waves back.
Imagine having a job like that.
Nine to five, bullshit.
Doran doesn't really hear you, and he jumps up waving at the sailor, uh, crewman, and he says,
Hey, Wim, maybe we should, uh, go, go help them unload some Bacca's.
That looks like a lot of fun.
Whim nods exaggeratedly like, yes, we are doing this.
Come on, Red.
Uh, yes, I suppose so.
I mean, yeah, all right.
Hey, never mind.
Red climbs over the stone wall awkwardly and lands down on the dock
rather than walk around the steps down.
Doran is jovily walking towards the end of the pier
where they're unloading crates.
You three, did you lose your wagon?
Wagon.
Get over here.
We've been unloading for a quarter of an hour already.
Wernas not here yet either.
A lot quarter of wagon.
We just saw you here.
This looked like a bit of, you know, manly fun.
He gives his chest and...
arms of flex.
I figured we could help you carry these boxes down.
Yeah, you can help us out here till the mules arrive.
That's great.
Come on, Red.
We're welcome.
Yeah, we can help you show.
And Red pulls door aside.
The idea is to say yes when they ask for stuff, not offer help.
But sure, what the hell?
We'll carry these big, heavy crates for you.
Where do you need these?
Just over there, down the gangplank.
Sure.
Red lifts up one.
This is quite heavy, Dorm, I can use a hand.
Oh, here.
Let me...
What I'll do is I'll get underneath and just put her on my back, right?
Here, here, here.
I'm quite strong.
She looks at Wim.
Wim has just emerged from a ladder that had led down to the water.
She's dripping wet and regrets every second of what she just did, having dove into the water.
And, yep, it's exactly as unpleasant as both of you said.
I told you, there's poopies.
Red looks over the items that need to be carried,
and he picks a very small parcel,
like a one foot by one foot cube.
He's like, I'll carry this.
He puts it under his arm and walks.
It's like a shoebox.
Just then, a man in a dark cloak rolls up to the docks,
hopping down off of the driver's seat of this big wagon
being pulled by some beasts of burden.
Red skips past door and, yeah?
Oh, where do you need these?
He doesn't answer.
He just walks her into the back of the wagon and opens it, letting down a ramp and then sort of stands back with his arms crossed.
Oh, sure.
In here?
Doran's already passing you walking up the plank and he's like, see, Red, and he's all just focused on how he's carrying this box.
And he's so proud of how he gets underneath it and all this strength he has.
See, Red, all you need to do is you need to get underneath it like this.
And look at the way the center of gravity is holding on top of the box.
And where the box is, it's right, and I'm underneath.
Ah, you're doing great, Doran.
Wonderful job.
Just in here?
Load him up.
Yes, we will, Red says with a big smile towards Wim.
Yes.
Wim nods and helps you with your small shoebox.
Yeah, Doran's like already in the back and then we walk up.
Mm-hmm.
Not much room back here for us.
Are we...
There's nothing that's secure it.
Do you want us to stay back here holding it or what?
Sorry, what do you get paid for?
What?
We're getting paid for this.
Obviously.
This is great.
You boys stay up there holding them in place.
Oh, oh.
Yes.
Yeah, we could do that, sure.
Red puts his hands against the box that Doran's placed in the back of this thing.
Doran's sort of ironic he rolls his eyes.
He's like, we're supposed to be saying yes to fun things, not boring things like holding boxes.
You're the one that offered to help.
Well, carrying boxes is one thing.
But holding them up.
That's, that's boring.
What's the difference with holding them up and carrying them?
You're just carrying them is just holding them up above you.
Red, one is a feet of strength, and the other one is...
It's just a menial task that a plank of wood could do.
Come on now.
Didn't you see me carrying that crate?
We could have put two or three more on top.
I think you underestimate the strength of my strength.
Yeah, I suppose I do.
All right.
Red takes a long sip of his wine skin.
Whim is like gone back for another crate
and she's desperately trying to push it up the ramp on the back of the wagon.
She's got her like back against it and her little legs are just like skedaddle.
and gaining no purchase.
While we're arguing.
Oh, crap.
Here, Red tries to help,
and Duren goes down and lifts it up and carries it in.
The two dock hands help you load up the rest of the crates
onto the back of the wagon,
and then you are off and away into the gathering evening.
You pull up at a warehouse,
and the driver of the wagon instructs you to get off
and move the crates inside.
You know, yes.
I guess.
I feel like we've just got picked for manual labor, but...
But don't worry, Wim!
Listen, this is just the start.
I promise you, as soon as we deliver these crates,
we'll head across the street to the most wild bar you've ever seen, right, Oran?
Wild bar.
I'm just saying there will be one.
It's water deep.
There's stuff everywhere.
There's got to be.
There's...
I'm sure there's hundreds of bars in water deep.
There's...
Yeah, got to be a wild one.
You know, we should look for.
We should look for a strip club.
You ever bit to a strip club?
Oh my goodness.
That's where they come out
and they're wearing full,
beautifully manicured armor
and as they take it off,
they place right there
and you know what?
When they get right down to the last bits,
you can even reach out and touch
the fresh steel
as it's been molded and heated
and hammered and molded and
Molded and heated again.
Just, there's nothing better than a wonderful set of breast plates right in front of you.
Doring is sweating.
Listen, maybe it's not for you guys.
Looking at your faces, Doren's gets a little off topic.
Red just side eyes, whim.
Whim, mimes like eating a sandwich?
Or we could go for food, sure, yeah.
I'm always down to eat.
Why not both?
Red slaps Doren on the back and then pulls him aside.
Look, I really want to look cool.
for whim. After we unload these boxes, let's find
somewhere really cool, okay? I promised her an
adventure. I promised her a night on the town.
Well, what, Red, why do you promise
these things? Of course,
we'll find something that's exciting and
fun. I mean, we are in water
deep, after all, and he starts to raise his voice.
There's tons of things that we can find and we
can do. This is the most wonderful
city. The driver of the wagon
turns around and goes, shh. Sorry.
Right, anyway, let's get these in. And Red
lifts up the tiny box. I'll lead the way, and starts
walking towards the warehouse.
Oh, my back's starting to hurt me.
You know, I'm kind of regretting.
Volunteering to carry these boxes.
First, it looked like fun, but I don't know, it just feels like work.
This is something feels very familiar about this location.
Oh, you're right.
Maybe this is that alley that we went into the sewers with first with Mari.
I don't know.
I know.
This is where that crazy bar is.
I'm sure there's, I recognize this area.
There's up and around the corner.
Oh, see, Wim?
Adventure awaits.
Let's just finish saying yes to this guy and then we can get out of here.
All right.
As you enter the dark warehouse and add your crates to a growing pile in the center,
you're not the only ones here.
You observe maybe 10 or 12 other individuals,
some of them kind of hanging out.
There's a game of cards going on underneath a lantern hanging in the corner.
And there's like a lot of cigars being smoked for some reason.
Hey, hey.
Maybe this is where the party is.
Look, Whim, we got gambling, we got smoking, drinking over there.
That guy smells.
A man walks up to the three of you and claps you heavily on the back, Red.
Finally, you guys got here.
Yeah.
Must be Emeris's men.
Emeritus's men.
What?
Dorn looks at Red and nods his head.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
us. Oh, yes. Yes, we're
totally emerson's, I mean,
I would say guests, really. We brought
boxes here, didn't we? Yeah,
he invited us, he told us about
the, you know, the fun
being had here. We're smoking and drinking
you were doing. Yeah, and we
brought our friend Wim as well.
So, you know, we're all
Amarison's guests, really.
Exactly. And so we can all
share those cigars.
Wim gives us salute.
So, you know,
feel free to give us any
up front
coinage that you might do Emerson
for gambling or loan us one
of Emerson's cigars if that
you know, we'd be on his tab
is kind of the way I'm putting it forward.
A burly man
in a coat with shiny buttons
addresses the crowd.
All right, men. Well done.
All right. It's been a good haul
tonight, fairly clean
and as far as I know, no pursuits.
So I think this is the cause for celebration, everybody.
Gather around, gather around.
Well done.
What did you say about purses?
I don't know, something about pursuits.
Champagne begins to be uncorked and passed around the room.
Hey, hey.
All right, champagne.
Yeah, see, Wim.
Maybe they'd like to hear about our pursuits.
Hey, Red?
Wait, Doran, do you say yes to some champagne?
Why, yes, I do, Red.
Yes.
Me too.
Red takes a bottle and takes a big swig.
Whim, will you say yes to some dancing?
And he holds out a hand.
Whim grabs your hand and does like a wild jig with you.
Oh, that was a good bit of fun.
Well done, guys.
See, Wim?
This is, this party's going to kick off.
Yeah, yeah.
A rough-looking woman with a big scar over her eye comes up to you right and says,
Would you mind keeping it down a little bit?
What's the problem?
Emerson's guests, we're here having some fun, you know?
For a moment, I thought you were going to ask him to dance.
Didn't you hear we've had some problems with the town guard?
Town guard.
How was?
What?
Huh?
They've been coming around the docks lately.
Well, what's the problem with them coming around the docks?
They don't dance?
You fucking dense?
No, I'm Red.
Can't have them busting up the operation.
Just keep it down this all.
She walks away.
Operation.
And Red scans the
room. Doran's scanning the room as well.
Whim scans the room.
All three of you come to the realization
simultaneously that you are
not in a very reputable place.
Red? Red?
I think we stole these boxes.
Do you notice that the cart that took the boxes
wasn't the cart that was for the ship?
And also, did you notice that all of the people in here
looked like they're ruffians?
Red turns to a guy next to him and says,
Hey, we stole all these, right?
He's actively licking a knife for some reason.
Right, right.
And Red turns back.
We need to get out of here.
Just then.
A figure drops from some hiding place on the ceiling
and lands wolfish in a pool of red and black cloak.
The closest smuggler launches himself at her in a frenzy.
His scimitar surprisingly well-handled with a slither.
some garden variety thug, but she spins with a long white-handled dagger in each hand and meets
his fury, steel screaming against steel until she pivots and slides in right alongside him,
plunging the blade in smoothly between his ribs and pulling back towards his spine, dropping him.
The white dagger dripping in blood, she points the blade around the room and snarls,
What have you done with my sister?
Oh shit!
and Reddives behind the crate.
Yeah, we jump behind boxes.
Oh, where's Wim?
Whim? Get down.
Wim's, like, standing maybe 15 feet away from you,
and she's got her back to the now frenzied battle
that's erupting behind her.
She's found a banana,
and she's never had one before or something.
She's, like, peeling it and, like, taking a bite.
And because she's deaf, she does not hear anything that's happening.
She's just, like, banana.
Red is, like, trying to crawl over to her, but every time, like, a body flips over a crate and lands besides him, like, dead.
You're like, do her and get her attention.
Wham!
Wham!
Her back is to us!
And, like, as you stand up, a knife flies by, chops one hair off of your beard, you know.
Red picks up a stone and, like, throws it at her back.
Come on, turn around, turn around.
And she looks at you, and she's like, what?
Get down.
She, like, starts to dance a little bit.
No, look around, you knucklehead.
Finally, she looks around and realizes, like, oh, fuck.
Scurries behind a pole.
And Red turns the door in as the cacophony of, like, action is around him.
You know, Red, this is seeming awfully familiar to me.
If we've been in this position before.
Many times, you know?
I can't count the number of times that we've been ducking in.
This is like a deja vu.
It was specifically mew and me.
What?
Red pulls at his wine skin and takes a long drink.
Doran takes another drink as well.
This wine is fantastic.
I mean, yeah, it kind of seems a little familiar.
Wim joins the two of you behind these crates, and so does a smuggler.
He just got his back to it.
He's like, breathing heavy.
He's like, okay, how are we going to get out of here?
And he turns and looks up over this top of the boxes,
and then a knife just hits him right in the eyeball and pulls back dead.
Yeah, that's seem oddly familiar.
Doren, that crate behind you, can you read where it's from?
Oh, what does this say?
And he garrasura wipes away some dust.
It's all burned out.
Oh, here, what's this one down here?
It says property of the Copper Cup Fest Hall.
Hey, wait a minute.
This isn't the Copper Cust.
Oh, no.
They've stolen this stuff.
From the Copper Cup, I mean.
There must be supplies for the copper cup that they intercepted,
and Doren takes out his axe.
And he...
Chops a big hole on the side of it.
It looks in.
It's just full to the brim with copper cups.
I knew it wasn't just a clever name.
Actually, it's sort of strange coincidence.
It doesn't really make sense.
I don't understand that.
Maybe we're looking into it because we know of the bar.
It's just the copper cup stuff.
I guess it doesn't matter that much.
I mean, I wish it was like medical supplies for the needy.
Then I would feel obligated to, you know.
Hey, man, there's another box over here.
What's it say?
Here, well, wipe away.
You scrub some of the grime off the side, and it says medical supplies for desperate hungry orphans who are sad.
Wait a minute.
What does it say, Doran?
No way.
It says medical supplies for desperate, hungry orphans.
And he takes his axe and he chops into it and sticks his hand and then sure enough.
Yeah, inside, it's just full of medical supplies.
They're stealing medical supplies for needy hungry orphans.
Wim is pulling on the sleeve of your cloak red and nudging you.
Doran, and she makes a little illusion in her hands of the three of you guys, like, stepping
up and...
You're right. If we fight these guys, then we can take all these supplies for ourselves.
No, she shakes her head at you.
No, no, no, that's right. If we fight these guys...
For ourselves to give away, Doran means.
To give back. Yes, that's right. To give back.
I'm with you. We can't just sit by and let this woman fight these bandits.
We need to help, and the Red Cups his, like, mouth away from whims prying eyes and says to Doren, I'm so tired.
Yes.
And Doran looks at Red and nods, yes, we will.
On three.
One, two, three.
And Red jumps up.
The drow woman is standing in a pile of dead bodies looking at the three of you.
Huh?
With a dagger outstretched.
And she says, who the hell are you?
Wow.
What a drow.
Don't, don't hurt us.
My name is Red.
Yeah. This is my best friend Doran and my new best friend Wim. And we're not with them.
No, we're not. We had infiltrated this base of theirs, and we were trying to do what you just did.
And quite frankly, I'm incredibly impressed.
Yeah, infiltrated. Definitely didn't accidentally get into this again.
There's a second of doubt that crosses her face as she looks at the three of you and then around at the warehouse.
and then she shakes her head
and she's like, all right, well, we're about
to be in the wrong place here in a minute
because that was louder than it needed to be.
So listen, will you help me?
Yes.
And Wim nods emphatically.
And the drow just starts like kicking these bodies
off of the edge of the warehouse
and you hear the splash of their corpses
as they hit the water below.
Someone's going to have a mess to clear tomorrow.
Sharks, right?
They're sharks.
What do we do?
That's why they're sharks were such problems.
Red runs over and helps.
Splash.
The drowl then begins searching in a corner of the warehouse
and locates a grate in one corner.
She starts kicking it until it breaks, clatters to the ground,
and she ducked inside.
And she pops her head out a second later and goes,
Are you coming?
Yes.
That's great.
Yeah, let's go.
Come on, Wim.
This is great.
And Red lets Wim kind of follow the woman directly,
and then he hangs back for a second with Doren,
and just sort of grabs his shoulder.
That name, Emerson does sound familiar, Doren.
This old seems familiar, doesn't it?
Emerson?
Familiar?
Yeah, remember back in Silvery Moon,
the night we found the ring,
the night we brought those crates accidentally into a basement?
And we thought it was a hot spring, and it wasn't,
And then we fought all the guys, and then a drow came through the ceiling and killed everybody?
Hmm.
Hmm.
No.
Doesn't ring a bell.
And then Doreen goes into the grate.
That's really good.
All right.
Red climbs in after him.
She leads you through a service corridor which reeks of salt and sewage through a complex maze of tunnels,
her right hand grazing the pebbly surface of the wall beside her absent-mindedly.
The architecture changes, the echoes grow more vast.
The plains of the walls and floor become natural as she exits into a series of dripping tunnels that lead to a lagoon cavern.
Wim has created some floating lights around her as you emerge into this cavern and they cast eerie shadows on the walls here and there.
You see that there's a bedroll and something.
some things set up beside a pool of water.
And the drow is sitting there on her bed roll
regarding the three of you as you enter.
Wow.
This is quite the little place you got here.
Is this your hideout?
Yeah.
Yeah, I think so.
You know, all the good adventures have hideouts.
Yeah.
We have a hideout.
Dorenzora says,
trying to impress the drowl it's a house it's around the corner actually called
troll skull manna that sounds very nice i'm is togal van rayer oh it's nice to make your
acquaintance nice to make your acquaintance too hey by any means do you have a sister i do yes you
heard me ask about her yeah does she look a lot like you and is also a drowl and is also good at
killing people and is also taking on bandits
and he's also looking for her sister?
I mean, yeah, most
sisters are the same race.
Red? So...
Doran sort of nudges you this elbow. Don't be so rude.
I'm not being rude. He's my
brother, but we don't look the same. All right.
Point taken. Well, we're not
brothers per se. But look,
that's why it seems familiar. Look,
this isn't... We've met your
sister. Dorn and I
here, we was in Silvery Moon up
north and we saw her.
Yeah.
That doesn't make any sense.
Why doesn't it make any sense?
No.
What?
No, no, no, no, no.
Look, there's been a lot of places that we've been over the past five, six months,
and I have to say, it's all kind of blending together, right?
Uh, who's to say we've been to meet her sister?
You said that you saw Salon in Silvery Moon.
Yeah, I think that was a name.
I thought she was in hiding.
Uh, well, she was.
See, Doran and I, we were saying yes to her.
everything like we're doing tonight with a friend Wim to show her a good time.
That's right.
Wim's like fucking around with something in the back and she turns towards you and you see
she's been playing Cat's Cradle with this piece of leather that she found and she's like
made a big pile of, it's just a big mess.
She's really proud of it.
And we wanted to impress her and we decided we'd say yes to everything like we did in
Silvery Moon and you know, we ran into your sister there.
Fine, Dora doesn't remember.
I know we met
A drow?
Maybe it was a different drow.
No, hold on.
There's something very strange happening here.
I...
This place isn't familiar.
She starts going through her belongings.
No, these are my things.
Well, you let us here.
Wait, I led you here?
Yeah.
You just let us through the grate.
No, I followed you here.
Us here.
No, no, you didn't.
Come on, Wim, back us up here.
And Red turns to Wim.
Wim's got her back to you guys,
and she's just feeling the stone of the lagoon cavern.
Yeah, it's limestone.
That's how they're able to do all these caves.
Actually, it's quite beautiful.
If you go down...
Dora, not the time.
Oh, sorry.
Are you with the hand?
Hand?
No, no, we're not.
The hand of Yada.
Oh, yeah, no.
Your sister was with them, and you were with them, right?
Yeah, until just recently.
Really deep.
Yeah, we spoke to your sister.
She brought us to her base.
And as we were talking and learning about her trying to find you,
something happened, although I can't remember what?
The sound of something falling to the ground immediately precedes an explosion of flame and smoke
that shatters the stillness, engulfing half of the cavern.
Ah!
Oh my God!
Istagall screams, run!
We need to get the hell out of here.
William, tell me you smell smoke at least.
Whim's already pointing at the lagoon exit to this room, pointing down into the water.
Now is not the time for the hot tub.
We told you, Wim.
No, Wim, we want to escape.
Just not good.
She's clapping her hands like, yes, I know, and pointing down into the water.
I think she's saying we need to swim.
Swim through the harbor.
Istigal's like, yes, yes, we can get out through there.
Okay.
Okay, come on.
Red runs towards the water and dives.
All right, here we go.
Wow.
And in an instant the forest,
you are weightless in this salt water lagoon swimming down through the darkness, pressure
in your ears. You hear splashes behind you as your assailants are following you. And as you begin
to run out of air, you exit the cave system, seeing just a little bit of light up ahead as you
breach the surface. In the waves of the water deep harbor, you see the ships off to the east.
the beach.
Whim breaks the surface.
Come on, come on, Wim.
To the beach.
You're gonna keep swimming.
Red swims towards the beach.
And Istagal follows you.
She's like caught up in some seaweed, but she...
Come on, it's a girl.
Struggles free and swims alongside you.
The four of you make your way to the beach.
I am telling you, Doran, we have done this before.
Look, not only have we helped an old man at the docks with a package, not only
had we brought that package to a group of bandits.
Not only had we met a trow,
very similar to this one, no offense.
None taken.
Do you remember that now?
But then we got ambushed at the church she brought us to.
Church, but that wasn't a church.
I wish you'd remember, Doran.
It's also clear.
Why would you say it?
Of course I remember all of it, very clearly.
What do you mean?
What?
That's what I'm saying is,
You know, we literally have done all of this before.
It seems to me, we did all of this.
It's just slightly different.
We were in Silvery Moon last time.
Well, you said you didn't remember.
You remember now?
What do you mean?
Of course I remember.
I remember the whole time.
You just, you haven't been listening to me.
We haven't been listening.
We always say that.
I haven't been listening.
I always listen.
I listen for all the things.
I listen to your one-man show.
I don't know, Red.
I don't know what to tell you why you might have
think I don't remember. Of course, I remember all of this. Very, very clearly.
It doesn't matter. It's a little bit different. So you're with me. So, so, so we've done this
before. Yes, absolutely. You. Okay, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so,
weird is happening. We are, that's right, re-living. Right. That's, that night in
silvery moon where we said yes to everything we've done the crates and the bandits and we've
escaped and now we are here and now last time we took your sister and we assaulted the tavern
where she thought you were i think and and we vanquished right or that's that's what happened right
yeah yeah she was looking for that that one-eyed uh that one-eyed man brunay he was a the two-timing
fuck that worked that worked at the hand that's right that's right okay okay let's
Look, I don't think I've ever remembered anything so clearly in my life.
Look, we've been in situations like this before.
Dawn and I have.
Clearly, there's some magic at play.
Perhaps your sister or someone looking for vengeance, you know, he's playing a trick on us.
Well, we're not going to get the best of them.
Look, we've figured it out, okay?
We now know that beat for beat this night is playing out the same,
and we have the advantage because there was no one-eyed man this time,
which means we know exactly where to head next.
And the three of us, this time with Wim, are going to take them down.
All of a sudden, a trident emerges from Istagall's throat, and she falls to her knees and then kind of supported by the handle of the trident sort of leans to the side, spurting blood and dying terribly.
Wait a minute, I don't remember any of that at all.
Is that, is she, are you pretending?
A Kuotoa begins to emerge from the waves, hefting another trident, and Wim points a finger almost casually down the beach at him.
You think at first maybe just to alert you, but then a scorching ray of fire emanates from her outstretched finger and with a whistle from Wim.
It launches itself at the fishman and fries him where he's standing.
That smells delicious.
Is she still of a pulse, Dorn?
Doren leans down and moves the body by picking up the trident.
Her body, it's like you've skewered a piece of eel, just limply.
Doren leans down and tries to pull the trident out of the back of Istigal's head.
Oh, God, Dorn, take a boot off her head.
The whole body moves with the trident.
Um, I, I, I, you're kind of sawing through her neck a little bit.
I think Atsog is, uh, is dead.
Oh, God.
Well, that's not right.
I certainly don't remember this, and I don't remember that either.
Waves his hand over her eyes.
Wim kneels down in the bloody sand and looks up at you to like, what the fuck?
Hey, it happens.
Oh.
She tries to put her hands over the bloody holes in her neck, like, is this doing anything?
Stopping the blood.
Am I helping?
Look, there's nothing we can do for her red stands back up.
I mean, I wish she didn't die.
but we can't change things.
The Trident sucks itself out of the back of her neck.
And almost like she's moving in her verse,
she like stands back up.
All the blood comes up out of the sand.
Whoa.
Back into her neck.
And then the life comes back into Istigal's eyes.
Zombie!
I don't think I've ever seen anything so crazy in all my life.
That was...
Oh.
I don't think I know anyone named Brunei.
What the hell did you?
Hold on. You just fucking die.
What did you just say, Red?
I didn't say anything.
You said something.
You said that you wanted them back.
What is it?
What all of a sudden your wish comes true
and everything you want comes true?
I said I...
Whim claps a hand over your mouth, Red.
And she writes in the air in light
in front of both of you.
I wish dot, dot, dot,
and then she underlines wish,
looks at you very pointedly.
Doran's kind of looking at
read and he says, yeah, what do you wish? Go on. Tell it. Yeah, I said that. So what?
Oh, it doesn't matter. I wish I had a roast turkey in my hands. A roast turkey appears in your hands.
What? Oh, how are you getting your wishes? Doran's looking up in the air. It's me. I, I, I said it.
I said that I, that we had a night just like the one we had in Silvery Moon, but a little different.
so that we could show Wim a good time.
And then I...
That we had wine in our water skins.
Oh, and then you wish about those medical supplies.
Right.
And then I...
That you remember the night?
And I do.
And then I...
That she was alive again.
And then I...
That this turkey was...
That's delicious.
Are you eating my turkey?
Wim's, like, got a turkey drumstick.
She nods very delicious, yes?
Well, I was never meant to be here.
To begin with...
then. I've never been to Waterdeep before in my life.
And now you have.
And you can have some turkey while here.
The spell must have pulled you here. I'm sorry.
Send me back to Yarder.
Yes. Say hi to your sister for us.
I wish Estegel was never pulled into this mess.
And she disappears from the beach.
Oh.
Doran. And Red turns to Doran.
Doran's scurving down chunks of turkey.
It must be this ring we found.
ever since I put it on
I said all those things
and Red holds up his hand with the ring
on it. Doran stands up
and walks over Red
he says
it's not the ring
you idiot it's the moon
look it's a full moon
it's the wishing moon
I'm pretty sure I remember hearing something about a wishing moon
that ring
it's nice
but it's no excellent fine
piece of work trust me
Uh, Doren, I love you, but I don't know what you mean by a wishing moon.
Look at it.
You're trying to tell me that an entire night got redirected, that a woman came back from the dead because of a wishing moon?
Look up at the moon.
Yeah.
Are you telling me that's not a wishing moon?
Wim raises an eyebrow at you like, are you serious?
It almost looks like it says, wish whatever your heart's desire.
Red?
Ah, and red looks up at the moon.
Honestly, I wish Wim and I could get behind this idea, but...
Oh my God.
I think it is a wishing moon.
Of course.
Wim!
Wim comes up from behind both of you and throws her arms around you.
It's a wishing moon, Dorr, I'd never heard of it.
Of course.
It must be a dwarven thing.
Yeah.
And you can wish a million wishes on the moon.
I have heard of it.
And every wish is the most beautiful wish.
Wow.
I wish we never forget this night.
Oh.
I wish we stay friends forever, the three of us.
Oh.
I am so thankful for wishing night.
You hear the sound of hoofbeats coming down the beach,
and a cloaked rider stampedes his way towards you.
Flying off of his horse, he pulls down the cowl of his hood,
and you see the angriest man you've seen in a long time.
He stomps his way over to you, and he says,
Excuse me, I think you have something of mine.
What? What? Red turns around.
What are you doing? Your breath smells.
One gold ring.
Oh, the ring. He wants that ring.
Oh.
You did find it, Red, to be fair.
Right. Yeah, sure, whatever. Red takes it off and throws it in the sand.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, take it back. We don't need it.
We're going to be friends forever.
And Red puts his hand around Doran and Wills.
I think we should spend the rest of our wishing night back at Troll Skull Manor instead of out here with this rude guy.
Yeah!
Enjoy your stupid ring, Dumbo.
Enjoy the rest of your wishing night.
Whim makes like a P.U. Stinky face.
Let's go, guys.
Smash cut back to Troll Skull Manor where the three of you are sitting on tall bar stools and you are being served frosty pint glasses of ale by your ghost bartender.
I think you're right.
I think when the clouds covered the moon, the wish is stopped because I keep wishing for bread, and I'm not getting any.
I don't understand it.
Whim scrawls on a piece of paper and slides it over to the two of you and it says,
what are you going to wish for next wishing moon?
Oh, I'm going to wish for a tall glass of water.
Oh, here.
Dorn slides over a tall glass of water.
Maybe the wishing moon is still in effect
Hey
I wish they had one of those
strip clubs right around the corner from here
I could go for some beautiful armor
Do you want us to leave you alone with our armor
Redd
I never thought you'd ask
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
My only regret is
I wish that I had wished the ordaining
ended before the wishing moon got covered by clouds
And stopped granting wishes
I really wish that too
Maybe if we say wish enough
It'll just happen.
It just stops losing its meaning after a while.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Wish.
Swish-wash.
If you say wish-wash, quick it sounds like swish-wash.
Swish-wash.
Do you think Pirates see?
Wash?
Yeah, I do.
